Every state promotes its own values. These are the values of the U.S. government today.

“The State Department Used Your Tax Dollars To Fund a Film Festival That Depicted Drag Queens, Incest, and Pedophilia,” by Robert Schmad, Washington Free Beacon, July 19, 2022:

The State Department helped fund a film festival in September that featured movies depicting drag queens, incest, and pedophilia, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.

Queer Lisboa, an international queer film festival held in Portugal, was given $10,000 as part of the Biden administration’s push to “support LGBTQ+ and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility efforts” abroad, according to a State Department spokeswoman. The festival’s offerings included P.S. Burn This Letter Please, a documentary about drag culture in post-war New York City, Saint-Narcisse, a film about incestuous twins, and Minyan, a movie about a 17-year-old Jewish boy who leaves his parents to explore New York City’s gay scene and eventually has sex with an adult bartender.

The event was one of several bankrolled by taxpayers to promote LGBT acceptance abroad. In the last year, the State Department funded the “first gender and sexuality library in Lebanon,” provided diversity and inclusion consulting to Latin American police forces, and hosted a transgender recognition webinar in Norway, according to an interagency report. The department said locals sometimes pushed back against LGBT promotion, perceiving it as “Western,” “imported,” or “against cultural or religious values.”…

FDA Authorizes Novavax Covid Shot to Increase Vax Rate, Biden Buys 3.2 Million Doses

Trying to convince some 100 million unvaccinated Americans to get a Covid shot, U.S. federal regulators have just authorized another Covid vaccine called Novavax. The reasoning behind the move is that if a person is hesitant to take gene-editing mRNA vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna or vector-based Johnson & Johnson, he or she would probably find a vaccine that uses moth cells to grow the most toxic part of the virus — spike protein — a “safer” option.

Commenting on the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for Novavax, FDA Commissioner Robert M. Califf said, “Today’s authorization offers adults in the United States who have not yet received a COVID-19 vaccine another option that meets the FDA’s rigorous standards for safety, effectiveness and manufacturing quality needed to support emergency use authorization.”

Despite such claims, FDA-authorized Covid vaccines already in use are associated with more than 1.3 million adverse events and more than 29,000 deaths. Those numbers, apparently, are not significant, and the FDA’s sister agency, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), does not even evaluate them. Moreover, the FDA has been sued to release all documents that it was supposed to review prior to granting full approval to Pfizer-BioNTech. The agency refused, saying it needed at least 75 years to release the documents it reviewed within nine months, although the judge gave the regulators until August 2022 to make them public. Analysis of the data presented to the FDA revealed that the shots are ineffective at preventing Covid and were clinically shown to cause a wide range of severe adverse reactions, including for pregnant women and their babies. Then, there are FDA documents explicitly showing more than 40,000 adverse reactions and 1,200 deaths linked to the Pfizer shot in just two and a half months of its being administered to the public. Yet the FDA finds nothing troubling about that.

Back to Novavax. How does it work?

According to the FDA,

The Novavax COVID-19 Vaccine, Adjuvanted is administered as a two-dose primary series, three weeks apart. The vaccine contains the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and Matrix-M adjuvant. Adjuvants are incorporated into some vaccines to enhance the immune response of the vaccinated individual. The spike protein in this vaccine is produced in insect cells; the Matrix M-adjuvant contains saponin extracts from the bark of the Soapbark tree that is native to Chile.

Novavax describes the steps in the creation of its investigational vaccines, including those for Covid.

An “investigational” medical product means that it is experimental and “is being studied to see if your disease or medical condition improves while taking it,” according to the FDA.

The Washington Post produced an instructional video on how Novavax uses moth cells to create its coronavirus vaccine.

The narrator describes how researchers at Novavax “hijack the ovaries of the fall armyworm” and infect them with a genetically-modified baculovirus (a type of insect virus) to contain SARS-CoV-2 spike protein.” Then, just like human cells, moths’ cells produce spike proteins and then antigen proteins, so “the match is perfect,” explained the president of research and development of Novavax, Gregory Glenn, in the video.

Speaking with The New American in July of 2021, Dr. Richard Fleming warned against using Novavax, arguing that the spike protein is an actual biological weapon.

Regarding the safety of the shot, it is linked to the increased risk of myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle), pericarditis (inflammation of the lining outside the heart), injection-site reactions (pain, redness, swelling, itching), general side effects (fatigue, joint pain, vomiting, muscle pain, etc.), and allergic reactions, according to the FDA. There are no long-term safety studies of the shots. Some of the participants were observed for just four months.

Regulators estimated that the new shot was 90.4-percent effective in preventing mild, moderate, or severe Covid. The figure was lower for those over the age of 65, standing at 78.6 percent. It is not clear how long this immunity lasts, or whether additional doses will be required to maintain this level of protection.

Additionally, unlike the mRNA-based competitor vaccines, Novavax is much more forgiving in terms of storage and does not require storage in subfreezing temperatures. It is also said to have a longer shelf life.

The shot comes in 10-dose vials, which suggests that it would be challenging to get a consistent quantity of the antigen and adjuvant across the 10 different draws from the vial.

The FDA’s advisory panel on vaccines, the Vaccines and Related Biological Product Advisory Committee (VRBPAC), endorsed the use of Novavax on June 7.

There are still unanswered questions regarding the studies showing that the Matrix-X adjuvant is safe. It was mentioned during the discussion that there are studies ongoing in West Africa to estimate the safety, though they are not yet concluded. Gregory Glenn told NBC Chicago that each such adjuvant particle is “basically a soap bubble. It’s made of stuff that you find in root beer.” That may be, but is it safe to mix with moth-produced proteins and inject it into humans?

It also is not clear whether the shot produces sterilizing immunity (meaning, the recipient does not get infected with Covid), and whether it protects against omicron (it was not yet circulating during the clinicals and is not listed on the company’s presentation slides).

When considering taking Novavax, one should be aware that there have been unexplained irregularities during the trials that are described here.

According to Novavax, even before the FDA formally authorized the short, the Biden administration had placed an order for 3.2 million doses of the new shot. However, it won’t be available until the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) approves it. Currently, the committee is scheduled to meet July 19.

Biden Boasts of Providing the Palestinians with Half a Billion Dollars

Joe Biden is proud of himself for having provided the Palestinians with $500 million in aid. He apparently regards this as a major geopolitical achievement, not as a moral and geopolitical disaster. He says it has “rebuilt ties” with the Palestinian Authority. A report on his hallucinatory miscomprehension is here: “Biden: ‘We’ve rebuilt ties with Palestinians, restored some $500 million in aid to PA,’” JNS, July 10, 2022:

The Biden administration has “rebuilt ties” with the Palestinian Authority and restored some $500 million in aid to it “without permitting terrorists to rearm,” U.S. President Joe Biden wrote in an op-ed published on Saturday night in The Washington Post.

The PA is happy to pocket whatever aid it can inveigle the Biden Administration into giving it. But it has not shown any gratitude in return. It just denounced the Americans for daring to suggest that, even if Israel may have been responsible for the death of Shireen Abu Akleh, her killing was not “intentional” – a conclusion which the Palestinians say constitutes a “betrayal.”

The PA continues with its “Pay-For-Slay” program, which provides generous subsidies to imprisoned terrorists and to the families of terrorists who died during their attacks. In so doing, the PA both rewards past, and incentivizes future, terrorism. The Taylor Force Act was meant to pressure the PA so that it would stop that program. It prohibits giving aid to the PA as long as that “Pay-For-Slay” program continues. The Biden Administration, in providing those half-billion dollars to the PA, is violating the Taylor Force Act; it apparently believes or pretends to, that there is an exception for “humanitarian aid” in the Act, but there is none. Nor are those subsidies the only way the PA encourages terrorism. It holds terrorists up as heroes, naming schools, streets, squares, and sports competitions after them, plastering city walls with posters of them, making them the much-to-be-admired subjects of radio and television programs.

The article comes ahead of the American leader’s July 13-16 trip to the Middle East, which will see him travel to Israel and Saudi Arabia, with a stop in Ramallah to meet with Palestinian officials.

“In Israel, we helped end a war in Gaza—which could easily have lasted months—in just 11 days. We’ve worked with Israel, Egypt, Qatar and Jordan to maintain the peace without permitting terrorists to rearm,” Biden wrote in reference to the May 2021 conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Biden is hallucinating about the 2021 Israel-Hamas war in Gaza. It came to an end in 11 days, not because of anything the Americans did, but only because Israel had killed more than 200 Hamas fighters, including 40 officers, intercepted more than 4,000 rockets, destroyed thousands more rockets, missiles, and other weapons hidden in Gaza pulverized control-and-command centers and demolished large parts of the network of tunnels Hamas had built under Gaza.

We also rebuilt U.S. ties with the Palestinians. Working with Congress, my administration restored approximately $500 million in support for Palestinians, while also passing the largest support package for Israel—over $4 billion—in history. And this week, an Israeli prime minister spoke with the president of the Palestinian Authority for the first time in five years,” Biden wrote.

No, America did not “rebuild ties” with the Palestinians. It only let the Palestinians yet again help themselves to whatever aid the Americans had put on the table. There has been no discernible decrease in Palestinian anger against the United States.

Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid on Friday discussed with P.A. chief Mahmoud Abbas the “need to ensure quiet and calm” ahead of and during Biden’s visit.

In his op-ed, Biden noted that this coming Friday he is set to become the first U.S. president to fly directly from Israel to Saudi Arabia: “That travel will also be a small symbol of the budding relations and steps toward normalization between Israel and the Arab world, which my administration is working to deepen and expand,” he wrote, adding, “In Jiddah, leaders from across the region will gather, pointing to the possibility of a more stable and integrated Middle East, with the United States playing a vital leadership role.”

Having initially shown themselves unenthusiastic about the Abraham Accords, because they were the brainchild of the Trump Administration, the Bidenites have now come round to realizing what an achievement those Accords represent, and are now hoping to encourage the further “integration” of Israel into its Arab neighborhood. This will include trying to persuade the most important Arab country, Saudi Arabia, to join the Abraham Accords.

With respect to Iran, Biden argued that reengaging in nuclear talks along with allies in Europe and around the world had “reverse[d] our isolation,” and that instead “now it is Iran that is isolated until it returns to the nuclear deal.”

Iran is not isolated – witness its continuing friendship with Russia and China, its support from Syria’s Assad, and its control, through its proxy Hezbollah, of Lebanon. None of these countries are going to end their support of Iran “unless it returns to the nuclear deal.” And during the long months when those negotiations with Iran continued, the Iranians continued to race to enrich enough uranium for a bomb. Now even the Israelis have decided they will no longer try to slow down the uranium enrichment program, since Iran already has enough uranium for a bomb, acquired while the Vienna negotiations were going on, and instead Israel will focus on Iran’s ballistic missile program, and Tehran’s ability to mount a nuclear warhead on such a missile.

Biden still claims he has faith in a “return to the 2015 nuclear deal.” But Iran will not give up the uranium it has already enriched – and preventing that enrichment was the whole point of the 2015 deal. Iran has shown its long-term ability both to hide nuclear facilities from the IAEA, and to simply declare others off-limits to the IAEA investigators when they request an inspection. Iran has been consistently limiting, hindering, and lying to inspectors ever since the 2015 deal was first in place. Why should anyone believe that even if the 2015 deal is revived, Iranian behavior will be any different this time? Or do the Bidenites have a special undisclosed way to prevent Iranian cheating? And Biden says nothing about trying to prevent Iran from now building a ballistic missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead, which the Israelis believe is where their, and our, efforts should now be concentrated.

Israel has just announced that President Biden is to be awarded the Jewish state’s Presidential Medal of Honor.

Biden Admin Strikes $3.2B Deal with Pfizer to Include Unapproved Covid Shots

Absent regulatory approval, the Biden administration struck a $3.2 billion deal last week with Pfizer and its partner BioNTech for 105 million doses of experimental genetic therapeutics for Covid (aka “vaccine”), which could be delivered as soon as later this summer and continue into the fourth quarter of the year.

According to the June 29 announcement on Pfizer’s website, the doses will come in 3, 10, and 30 milligrams, which suggests that they will cover all “eligible” demographics for the shot, including toddlers as young as six-month-old. The shipment will likely include the adult dose, which will be designed to tackle the Omicron strain of Covid.

Reportedly, the average price per dose in the new deal has increased from the $19.50 per dose the government paid in its initial contract with Pfizer, and reached more than $30.47 per dose.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pfizer Albert Bourla said that the shots “may provide protection against current and future variants,” adding that “Vaccines have been and will remain critical to protecting people of all ages against COVID-19.”

That is certainly not the case. Since the very beginning of the pandemic, it has become clear that the virus poses a real threat to the very elderly and those with frail health. Even the advent of the new Covid strains that evolved to be more transmittable did not make the virus more deadly see here and here). Finally, the availability of truly safe and effective Covid early treatments such as hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin reduces the risks of severe Covid outcomes to a minimum.

Bourla also praised “the ongoing impact of vaccination efforts in the U.S. and around the world,” even though the high vaccination coverage around the world is associated with higher Covid rates.

The administration has the option to purchase up to 195 million additional doses, bringing the total number of potential doses to 300 million.

The shots were acquired by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in collaboration with the Department of Defense.

According to the official statement, the administration “was forced” to reallocate $10 billion in existing funding, pulling billions of dollars from COVID-19 response efforts to secure the deal in the absence of additional funding from Congress.

HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra stressed that the shots would remain “free and widely available” for all Americans.

HHS Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) Dawn O’Connell added that the department has procured and delivered more than 750 million doses of Covid shots nationwide in the past 18 months. Thanks to this effort, as many as two-thirds of Americans are not considered “fully vaccinated,” i.e., have gotten two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna, or a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson Covid shot. The lion’s share of the distributed doses, or 450 million, were produced by Pfizer-BioNTech, according to data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The move follows the endorsement of the Omicron-specific boosters by the vaccine advisory panel to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on June 25. The FDA is expected to grant an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for the shot.

It is unclear how effective the additional dose will be since the companies have begun working on the shot for Omicron in late November 2021. Since then, the “original” Omicron (B.1.1.529 lineage) with its dozens of mutations compared to the Wuhan strain from 2019, in turn, evolved into two subvariants, BA.4 and BA.5, which are currently dominating the United States.

In early December, the company claimed that three doses of its shot were effective in neutralizing the Omicron. In January, Bourla underlined the importance of the third dose in protecting one from severe Covid, saying that just the initial two doses are not “good enough.”

Since then, the federal healthcare agencies have gradually expanded the recommendations of additional doses to include more age groups, such as children aged five to 11.

The question of the efficacy of the additional doses was raised during the FDA’s vaccine panel discussion. Remarkably, two distinguished members of the panel — Dr. Paul Offit, director of the Vaccine Education Center and professor of pediatrics in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and Dr. Hank Bernstein, professor of pediatrics at the Zucker School of Medicine — voted against the authorization. The members quoted the lack of increased efficacy of the shots in protecting against “serious illness.”

According to the leftist outlet The Daily Beast, the pandemic has “yielded outsize benefits for one company — Pfizer — making it both highly influential and hugely profitable as covid-19 continues to infect tens of thousands of people and kill hundreds each day.”

Despite the fact that people continue getting infected and sick with Covid, and die of it, the outlet called the company’s vaccines and Covid treatments a “success” that granted the company an “unusual weight in determining U.S. health policy.”

This state of affairs is likely to continue. Per the report,

“Because the virus keeps mutating and will be around for a long time, the market for Pfizer’s products won’t go away. In wealthier countries, the public is likely to keep coming back for more, like diners at an all-you-can-eat restaurant, sated but never entirely satisfied.”

Many non-establishment experts believe that mass vaccination with vaccines that don’t prevent infection and transmission is the key factor that provides a competitive advantage to the most infectious — and potentially lethal — strains of the virus. Among them is the Belgian world-class virologist and vaccinologist Dr. Geert Vanden Bossche, who explained to The New American the mechanism of this action.

Therefore, the continuous mass intake of “leaky” vaccines only facilitates virus’ mutations. Those new variants will “require” new vaccine formulations. Forever and ever.

FOIAs Reveal Progressive Money Fueling FBI, DOJ, Leftist Activist and Election Official Coordination

A strange constellation has emerged through public records requests of coordination between progressive funders, federal authorities, corporations, state election officials, and leftist organizations.

Freedom of information requests have uncovered oddball and opaque relationships between some state election officials, federal officials, corporations, progressive activists, and those trying to influence the conduct of those same election officials. These relationships extend to junkets that include baseball games, travel, and even data exchanges between state officials and outside progressive groups.

The story begins with a series of freedom of information act requests aimed at a number of states to see if any election officials are tempted to apply for now-illegal money from the Mark Zuckerberg-funded Center for Technology and Civic Life. Such grants and the wild expenditures of these funds altered the course of the 2020 election. (Read The Real Kraken, What Really Happened to Donald Trump in the 2020 Election at PJ Media.)

The FOIAs were submitted by the Public Interest Legal Foundation—with which I am associated—and were aimed broadly at election officials across the United States.

While no election official in a state that now prohibits private funding of elections has applied for new funding, something stranger, and more dangerous has emerged from the public information requests.

In one email, we find that the Democracy Fund—a hyper-funded progressive money source—is organizing state officials and third parties to discuss election administration.

Participants in this Democracy Fund effort include:

Commissioner Ben Hovland on the United States Election Assistance Commission

United States Election Assistance Commission employee Tina Barton

Ebony West, a Democracy Fund employee tasked with “Voter-Centric Election Adminstration [sic], which focuses on equipping local election officials with the data, tools, and connections needed to ensure voters’ voices are heard.”

John Keller, a criminal prosecutor at the United States Department of Justice Public Integrity Section who has gone after Republicans like Maricopa County Sherriff Joe Arpaio

Matt Masterson, a former staffer for John Boehner and now “Director of Information Integrity” at Microsoft and leading their “Democracy Forward” team

Katherine Reisner a militant progressive working for the vote-fraud denier organization States United Democracy Center.

Craig Latimer, the Hillsborough Florida Supervisor of Elections who told us that his office refuses to make any election crimes referrals to county prosecutors

Kammi Foote, sometime wilderness photographer and United States Election Assistance Commission employee

Andrea Abbate of the ZuckBucks Mother Ship, the Center for Technology and Civic Life

Lindsay Capodilupo, the “Election Crimes Coordinator” at the FBI

Tasmin Swanson formerly of the GOTV Baltimore Votes and Peace Corp volunteer in China, but now with the Soros-funded Center for Civic Design, a progressive group dedicated to infiltrating election offices with graphic design “help.”

Federal Department of Homeland Security official David Kuennen

Liz Howard, from another vote-fraud denier outfit, the progressive Brennan Center.

No conservative or right-of-center groups are invited.

(Democracy Fund email screenshot)

This progressive courting of election officials evidenced in this email isn’t a one-off. I’ll have other products of our FOIA sweep that show a wide-ranging progressive push to establish working relationships between law enforcement, progressive philanthropy, election officials, corporations, progressive activists, and, ultimately, the people who run our elections.

Since Trump’s 2016 victory, this fluid consortium has built structures that match powerful funding—with fringe ideological activists, with government offices—in an effort to create a narrative that nothing was ever wrong with American elections. These structures also reorient the administration of elections in ways that benefit progressives, such as wide use of automatic mail voting.

Extraordinary efforts were made in 2020 to claim mail voting was problem-free despite the evidence and despite elections in New Jersey being overturned because of mail ballot fraud.

Note the invitations were sent to criminal prosecutors at both the FBI and Department of Justice.

If there was no voter fraud, as Brennan Center hacks claim, then why were the prosecutors invited to the party?

The Democracy Fund isn’t the only group creating a synergy with the leftists, government agencies, and state and local election officials, and our FOIA sweep is capturing a trove of documents showing more angles of progressive influence over election administration.

David Becker’s Center for Election Innovation & Research has emerged as the sidekick to the Electronic Research and Information Center (ERIC), a consortium of state election officials who use data exchanges with ERIC to clean voter rolls and register the unregistered to vote. (Read Care About Election Integrity, Let Me Introduce You to ERIC).

David Becker has emerged as the party planner for the strange mix of federal prosecutors, progressive activists, election officials, and ex-pats from the federal swamp who now work for corporate America.

(David Becker via LinkedIn)

Becker, the former California Bear drum major—including when the Cal band played Dixie—also matches progressive dollars, state and local election officials, and federal authorities at the United States Election Assistance Commission who have controlled the distribution of hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars.

These federal dollars move through the EAC and end up in states. How they are used, and which officials and vendors get them, is a top priority for the Center for Election Innovation and Research.

Becker, an unabashed progressive, is also skilled at organizing junkets for state election officials.

One such confab occurred in May of 2019 in Denver, according to documents obtained in the Public Interest Legal Foundation’s FOIA.

State election officials from Nevada, Arizona, Minnesota, Georgia, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Michigan, Rhode Island, Ohio, Virginia, and Pennsylvania met for the CEIR Voter Registration Data Working group.

They also watched the Colorado Rockies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 11-10.  Becker played concierge for all the fun according to the emails obtained through public records requests:

“May 30 Baseball Game: For those attending the ballgame (there are 22 of us!) we’ll be meeting in the lobby of the Hotel Born to walk over to the ballpark…. If you cannot make it by 12:15 let me know and I’ll arrange to leave your ticket at will call. Your rooms will likely not be ready by that time, but you should be able to store your luggage.”

After the game? Becker had that covered:

“I’m guessing there will be a group of us going out. If you are not coming to the game and want to join us, please text me and we’ll make sure to include you.”

The next day, May 31, Becker’s state election official confab shifted to work:

“7:30 Breakfast. 8:00 am meeting begins, please be on time because we plan to end no later than 4pm. . . . There will also be two breaks, and as usual, the food will be excellent.”

The emails do not reveal what the previous “as usual” other dining experiences were.  Nor do they reveal who paid for the lodging at the Hotel Born,  with rates that routinely top $450 a night.

The emails do, however, reveal the agenda for the day:

“For those of you familiar with the meetings I’ve facilitated for ERIC, this will be similar. The general topic is centered around the structure of states’ voter registration databases, and the voter data within. We will spend most of the time at this meeting (which I expect will be the first of several) discussing the following: Voter Registration Databases, Structure, Interconnectivity With Other Databases Such as DMV…. Compatibility With Eric, Batch vs Real Time, Security and Privacy of Data.”

Again, no conservative election administration groups or conservatives were invited to the Colorado confab.

Some of the participants at the Colorado confab were from states that opposed President Trump’s Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity (on which I served) and refused to provide that commission information about the same database details they happily shared with David Becker’s progressive organization.

All of this is just a first taste at understanding the behind-the-curtain relationships developing between progressive deep pockets, leftist activists, vote fraud deniers, federal officials with prosecutorial power, and state and local election officials.

This effort started after the 2016 election, and notably focused on many of the bluish swing states that Donald Trump won in 2016 but lost in 2020. Whether that was the plan or just a side benefit of the Denver confab and Democracy Fund plans remains to be seen.

Maine Enshrines Cultural Marxism as State Religion in K-12 Public Schools So much for intellectual diversity.

BY LAWRENCE LOCKMAN

The dysfunctional government-run monopoly known as “public education” in Maine suffered a serious setback on June 21st when the US Supreme Court struck down a state statute that bans families from tuition assistance if they choose to send their children to accredited private schools that teach religion.

In sparsely-populated rural districts without high schools, the state offers a stipend to parents to enroll their children in a high school of their choice. The tuition assistance payments can be used for any type of public or private school, even out of state, or outside the United States.

Except if it’s a religious school.

The 6 to 3 decision held that discrimination based on the religious identity of a school violates the Free Exercise of Religion clause of the First Amendment to the US Constitution.

But rather than engaging in any honest self-assessment, the lawyer representing the public-school monopoly railed against the decision and began plotting more legislative roadblocks to school choice.

In his public comments after the SCOTUS decision in Carson v. Makin, Maine Attorney General Aaron Frey came across as a sore loser. His attack on the two Christian schools that successfully challenged the Maine statute was breathtaking in its ignorance and arrogance. Frey’s remarks amounted to a declaration of war.

His overt anti-Christian bigotry came across loud and clear, but in his zeal to condemn the plaintiffs as religious fanatics, he inadvertently indicted himself and the state. Here it is:

“The education provided by the schools at issue here is inimical to a public education. They promote a single religion to the exclusion of all others.”

Bingo!

That’s exactly what the Maine Department of Education (MDOE) does, with the able assistance of the office of the Attorney General over the past 30 years. They promote a single religion to the exclusion of all others.

Frey and his fellow left-wing fascists have enshrined a new state religion in K-12 classrooms: Cultural Marxism.

It’s a fact-free, faith-based dogma with its own scripture and sacraments, saints and sinners, heroes and heretics, salvation and damnation. Above all, it is intolerant of dissent.

Cultural Marxism divides all of humanity into just two classes: the oppressed and the oppressors. The oppressed are the BIPOCs (black, indigenous, and people of color) and the entire spectrum of the LGBTQ+ alphabet people.

The oppressors are anyone who’s white – but especially white male heterosexual Christians.

Before the self-loathing Leftists imposed CM as the state religion for K-12 students, they spent several decades dumbing down the curriculum. The objective was to soften up students’ intellects and prepare them for the simple-minded, emotion-based superstition and pseudo-science that the woke cultists embrace.

As far back as 2007, only 36% of Maine 4th graders in public schools were proficient at grade level in reading. The same year, only 38% of 8th graders were proficient at grade level in reading.

Ten years later, in 2017, 4th graders were still stuck at 36% reading proficiency, while 8th graders advanced to a dismal 43%.

This embarrassing data has been scrubbed from the MDOE website. The only reason I have access to it is because I saved the hard copies of reports the swampy non-profit Educate Maine distributed to legislators during my tenure in the Maine House of Representatives.

The introduction of Cultural Marxism into Maine’s K-12 government-run classrooms began in earnest in 1996 when the office of the state Attorney General launched a pilot project in 18 schools. Students were recruited to join so-called “Civil Rights Teams,” ostensibly to think and talk about issues related to “race and skin color, national origin and ancestry, religion, disabilities, gender (including gender identity and expression) and sexual orientation.”

While the AG’s office paid lip service to being all-inclusive, they openly admitted that “we especially want students of color, immigrants, religious minorities, students with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ students to participate.”

Of course! The Cultural Marxists in the AG’s office want the “oppressed” students keeping a watchful eye on the “oppressor” students.

Today more than 200 Maine schools, public and private, have Civil Rights Teams. These teams are under the direct supervision and control of the AG’s staff of fully woke CM cultists.

Then, beginning just over two years ago, as Black Lives Matter rioters burned and looted America’s big cities, the MDOE website front-loaded teacher training material that can be best described as BLM propaganda condemning America as a systemically racist country.

Promoting the sacred texts of the high priests and priestesses of Cultural Marxism, the Department dropped all pretense of intellectual diversity.

Say hello to Ibram Kendi and Robin DiAngelo; say goodbye to Thomas Sowell and Shelby Steele.

The MDOE website today is a dumpster load of racist propaganda and LGBTQ+ gender-bender madness.

Exhibit A: a state-approved video lesson for kindergartners – paid for with federal COVID funding – where the imbecile teacher explains to 5-year-olds that sometimes the doctor makes a mistake in determining whether a newborn baby is a boy or a girl.

My conservative non-profit Maine First Project blew the whistle on this scandal two weeks before it landed on the front pages of Maine’s lamestream daily newspapers. Under pressure from outraged taxpayers, MDOE took that particular video down. But there’s plenty more transgender lunacy where that came from.

I believe Maine’s terminally woke AG is in full-blown denial about what’s in store for his dysfunctional monopoly.

Here’s the demographic nightmare facing him and the other parasites who feed in the K-12 education swamp:

Fewer than one-third of Maine households have children enrolled in K-12 government-run schools. Many of the two-thirds majority of households without kids in school are comprised of retirees on fixed incomes.

These Mainers are looking down the barrel of $6+ per gallon home-heating oil, $5+ per gallon gasoline, and skyrocketing grocery prices.

As these retirees become aware that their rising property taxes are paying to brainwash their neighbors’ children and their own grandchildren, does anyone seriously believe they’re going to vote for bigger and bigger school budgets every year?

K-12 enrollment in Maine’s public schools has been in decline for decades, down from 213,569 in 1995 to 173,158 today. While enrollment has been in a free fall, spending goes up by hundreds of millions of dollars a year.

Bottom line: Maine’s K-12 indoctrination camps are about to be liberated, as students and teachers head for the exits, and taxpayers balk at being flogged and fleeced to pay for educational malpractice.

And that big red wave in November may just hasten the day of reckoning.

Biden Admin to Cut Food Funding to Schools, Other Entities “Discriminating” Against LGBTQ+

Biden Admin to Cut Food Funding to Schools, Other Entities “Discriminating” Against LGBTQ+

The Biden administration threatens to cut off federal funding to those schools and entities such as food banks that “discriminate” against gender-confused individuals (“transgenders”) and other representatives of the LGBTQ community.

As reported by the Daily Caller, the new rules were announced earlier this month in a May 5 statement by the USDA saying that the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) will interpret Title IX, the 1972 law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of biological sex, as well as the Obama-era Food and Nutrition Act of 2008, to include so-called gender identity and sexual orientation as protected characteristics.

The USDA stated,

As a result, state and local agencies, program operators and sponsors that receive funds from FNS must investigate allegations of discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation. Those organizations must also update their non-discrimination policies and signage to include prohibitions against discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.

The press release did not specify when the relevant regulations would be issued.

According to the USDA, FNS funding supports food security through the administration of 15 federal nutrition assistance programs for low-income Americans, including the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, aka food stamps), and school meals.

In an announcement, Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack argued that the move was taken as a step in recognizing “the vulnerability of the LGBTQI+ communities,” which needed to be provided “with an avenue to grieve any discrimination they face.”

The USDA added that the decision was made in light of President Biden’s executive order against “discrimination” toward homosexuals and “transgenders,” and consistent with the Supreme Court’s decision in Bostock v. Clayton County, which determined that anti-LGBTQ discrimination violates the federal law against discrimination in the workplace. This arguably unconstitutional decision does not apply to educational and social-service institutions.

As reported by The Federalist, in practice, the USDA rule means that “K-12 schools must allow boys into girls’ private areas to obtain federal funds for lunches, breakfasts, and snacks.”

John Elcesser, executive director of the Indiana Non-Public Education Association, told the outlet that the administration is “playing politics with feeding poor kids.”

“Because if a school feels like they cannot participate because it’s in conflict with their mission or values, if a religious exemption is not granted, you’re taking away a program that’s feeding low-income kids,” he added.

According to the latest USDA update, in 2017-2018, the agency sent 1.6 billion pounds of food to schools, which cost the taxpayers $1.6 billion.

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP), which operates in nearly 100,000 public and non-profit private schools, fed 29.6 million children each school day in 2019, at a total cost of $14.2 billion.

In a statement issued to The Federalist, Indiana attorney general Todd Rokita blasted the administration’s “power grab” and reminded his fellow attorneys general that it is within their authority to push back against it and that it is their duty to do so:

The Biden administration is grossly extending the Bostock holding where it does not belong. Like many of the Biden administration’s power grabs, this imposition transgresses areas of proper state and local authority. As the principal guardians of federalism, state attorneys general have the ability to combat such overreach where it injures state functions.

The policy that allows gender-confused boys to use shared spaces with girls puts the latter in real danger.

In October 2021, the court found a “gender-fluid” male student guilty of sexually assaulting a female student in the bathroom in Loudoun County, Virginia. The story made national headlines after the father of the victim was arrested by the police after a confrontation at a school-board meeting. As it became apparent, the Loudoun County School Board was fully aware of the incident yet tried to cover it up.

The Federalist reported that the parents it spoke to said that “their daughters no longer use the bathrooms or locker rooms at their public schools because they don’t feel safe there.”

Indeed, both parents and teachers confirmed that in those schools that allowed for the gender-mixed use of bathrooms, a great number of girls were afraid to use them because they felt they were not safe.

That, in turn, had terrible ramifications for the girls’ psychological well-being and physical health.

As reported by the Daily Mail in 2019 on the matter,

Gender-neutral toilets in schools have left girls feeling unsafe and even put their health at risk, parents and teachers have warned.

Girls who are menstruating are so anxious about sharing facilities with boys that some are staying at home for fear of being made to feel “period shame”.

With a growing number of both primary and secondary schools installing unisex toilets, some girls are risking infections by refusing to urinate all day.

Others are so fearful they have stopped drinking liquids at school.

It seems that by threatening public schools and other venues serving poor Americans, the Biden administration is utilizing authoritarians’ favorite tactics. First, it deliberately creates a vast class of dependents that are promised to be taken care of. Then, the government imposes senseless and harmful policies in return for the “service” that it provides.

It is within people’s power to reject this type of “care.”

Rand Paul Says We’ll Borrow From China to Pay Ukraine

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational & research purposes:

Old Joe Biden’s presidency has not been bereft of accomplishments. He has erased America’s Southern border, brought in well over a million unvetted migrants, drastically reduced America’s prestige and influence worldwide, destroyed the energy independence the nation achieved during the Trump administration, and has overseen catastrophic rises in gas prices and, indeed, in prices overall.

And now, amid a baby formula shortage and a time when Americans are suffering from an economic crisis that threatens to be larger than any such downturn since the Great Depression, we are sending $40 billion to Ukraine. According to Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), Biden’s handlers aren’t going to come up with that money simply by firing up the printing presses and afflicting the American people with more inflation; instead, we’re borrowing it from Communist China. What could possibly go wrong?

As PJM’s Athena Thorne noted a week ago, Paul has been a staunch opponent of the Ukraine aid package, saying: “Reserving the right to object, my oath of office is to the U.S. Constitution, not to any foreign nation. And no matter how sympathetic the cause, my oath of office is to the national security of the United States of America. We cannot save Ukraine by dooming the U.S. economy.” He pointed out that “gasoline alone is up 48 percent, and energy prices are up 32 percent over the last year. Food prices have increased by nearly 9 percent. Used vehicle prices are up 35 percent for the year, and new vehicle prices have increased 12 percent or more.”

And so dooming the American economy does seem to be exactly what Biden’s handlers are doing. Paul said Wednesday: “I think it’s important to know that we don’t have any money to send, we have to borrow money from China to send it to Ukraine. And I think most people kind of get that, and many Republicans will say that when it’s a new social program, but if it’s military aid to a country, they’re like we can borrow that, that’s a justified borrowing.”

He pointed out that the Republicans who voted to send this aid to Ukraine were undermining the argument that Biden was responsible for the current skyrocketing inflation: “The problem is that it all leads to inflation, so it kind of hurts the Republican argument that Biden’s spending and Biden’s debt leads to inflation, except for when it’s bipartisan spending and that doesn’t really count.”

Related: Rand Paul Derails the Ukraine Train, Demands Accountability

Indeed. The Ukraine aid vote is more evidence that there is just one big political party in Washington, with two major factions that see eye-to-eye on most everything, differing only in minor matters of priority and procedure. “This is the bipartisan consensus right now on Ukraine,” Paul continued. “Republican and Democrat leadership are exactly the same. So they get together. But in order to get together to get this, it’s guns and butter, you look at the $40 billion, it’s a lot of guns, but in order to get the gun they had to give out a lot of butter and so there’s a lot of spending going to European countries for food throughout the world. What we’ve done is given away the farm to make us weaker.” Yes, and there will come a time when the bills will have to be paid.

Meanwhile, the principal beneficiaries of all this are the Communist Chinese, who will come out of the Russia-Ukraine conflict considerably strengthened and facing a drastically weakened Russia (no matter what the outcome of the war is), and the United States which has had its resources depleted under the auspices of the reckless, feckless, America-Last Biden regime. Will the money the U.S. will have to pay back to China go to fund an invasion of Taiwan or some other global adventurism?

Whatever happens, it is difficult to see how any of this can end well for the United States. The administration continues to pursue relentlessly inflationary policies that are now threatening to bring the entire economy to a standstill. Do Biden’s handlers have any regard for the American people at all? Or are they so determined to pursue their internationalist socialist fantasies that they don’t care if they bring economic disaster upon the nation and plunge millions of Americans into poverty? After all, those who cannot support themselves will be forced to rely on the nation’s social safety net and will become more inclined to vote for the party that will keep that safety net as capacious and comfortable as possible. So for the elites, there’s just no downside.

Foreclosures have already begun to surge amid economy-destroying Fed rate hikes

(Natural News) The Biden regime’s intent to destroy the powerhouse economy that President Donald Trump built in just four short years actually began when the leftist deep state pushed him to agree to recommend lockdowns and business closures during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the year the same people were plotting to steal his reelection.

And now that the process is in full swing, the regime is set to finish the job.

During Biden’s first year in office, the Democrat-majority Congress passed one major spending bill after another, flooding the country with newly printed trillions at a time when there was a worsening supply chain crisis and ongoing shutdowns. The result was out-of-control inflation as more money in the system competed for fewer goods and services, a perfect recipe for spiking inflation.

Ostensibly to ‘control’ inflation, the Federal Reserve has begun hiking interest rates which are expected to slow down spending to allow the supply chain to catch up with the money supply. But at the same time, the rate hikes come as used cars have risen in price by 35 percent while prices for existing homes have also shot skyward as they did in the years before the 2007 Great Recession.

The resulting crash left millions of Americans with overpriced homes that lost a third of their value, leading to massive foreclosures and an economy literally on the brink of collapse — and it’s all happening again.

Already a tsunami of foreclosures has begun sweeping over the country, according to the Strange Sounds blog, which reports:

In March 2022, foreclosures surged 181% to [the] highest levels since March 2020, with Chicago, New York, LA, and Houston leading the pack.

Some eight months after a nationwide moratorium on foreclosures expired, foreclosure filings soared to the highest level since the pandemic began.

Last month, 33,333 properties across the U.S. faced foreclosure, a 181 percent jump from March 2021 and 29 percent pop from February, according to a report by foreclosure tracker Attom. The first quarter saw 78,271 properties with a foreclosure filing, a 39 percent increase from the previous quarter and 132 percent from last year.

In March 2020, barely a month into the COVID pandemic shutdown, nearly 47,000 homes were held in foreclosure filings according to Rick Sharga, the executive vice president of market intelligence for the firm ATTOM.

And in fact, March was the 11th consecutive month where foreclosure activity posted a rise year-over-year.

“Not only did foreclosure activity hit a peak, the time it took properties to foreclose ticked down 3 percent from the previous quarter. Properties foreclosed on in the first quarter were in the process for an average of 917 days, down from 941 in the previous period and 930 in the first quarter of 2021,” Strange Sounds added.

Not surprisingly, California was the state where the highest number of foreclosures starts for the first three months of this year — 5,378 — thanks to the insanely overpriced housing market there. But Florida and Texas were second and third, respectively, with 4,707 and 4,649.

Among the country’s major metropolitan areas, Chicago saw the largest increase in new foreclosure filings during the first quarter of this year with 3,101. New York City followed with 2.580 starts after a statewide foreclosure moratorium expired in January.

Despite the rise in activity, Sharga believes that economic growth in the country will continue. However, he added, the U.S. isn’t likely to see pre-pandemic levels “until the end of the year at the earliest, unless the economy takes a significant turn for the worse.”

And that’s really the plan: The Biden regime and the leftist deep state running it will be fine, economically, as their investments and assets will be protected from their own economy-destroying policies. The rest of the country, however, is in for a massive contraction like that seen just a short 15 years ago.

Biden Sends Nearly $1 Billion to Afghanistan Since Taliban Takeover

The Taliban’s greatest asset isn’t opium. It’s our foreign aid.

BY DANIEL GREENFIELD

SEE: https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2022/04/biden-sends-nearly-1-billion-afghanistan-taliban-daniel-greenfield/;

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational & research purposes:

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism.

Over two decades the United States and its international partners poured billions in humanitarian aid into Afghanistan. Much of that aid went into the pockets of the Taliban.

After Biden’s retreat, the Taliban have consolidated control over Afghanistan. And overall the hungry children, the girls deprived of an education, and all the other sob stories that kept a river of private charity and taxpayer money flowing into a hellhole in which nothing ever got better.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

At an aid conference hosted by the UN, the UK, Germany, and the Islamic terror state of Qatar, which backs the Taliban, $2.4 billion was raised for Afghanistan. The hosts had demanded over $4.4 billion which would have been the largest amount ever raised for any nation.

The Biden administration kicked in another $204 million.

That's on top of the $782 million in "humanitarian aid" allocated to Afghanistan last year since the Taliban took over. This year, Biden signed an executive order allocating $3.5 billion of the Afghan assets held in the Federal Reserve for the same purpose. But even not counting those funds, Biden has dedicated $986 million to Afghanistan since the Taliban took over.

That’s nearly $1 billion in taxpayer money and nearly $4.5 billion in total funds.

The Biden administration keeps insisting that the money won’t go to the Taliban. That’s as plausible as its previous claims that the Afghan government wouldn’t collapse, that if it did we would be ready and that all Americans would be evacuated before Kabul fell to the enemy.

There’s no one with less credibility on Afghanistan than a member of the Biden administration.

Biden's UN ambassador, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, claimed that "this humanitarian aid, like all aid from the United States, will go directly to NGOs and the United Nations. The Taliban will not control our humanitarian funding."

Since the Taliban control Afghanistan, they control the non-profit NGOs and the UN presence in what is now their country. Anyone who directs money into Afghanistan is funding the Taliban.

As I warned last year, the Taliban have a 10% Islamic tax on income, and NGOs and even UN agencies have been paying taxes to the Taliban going back as much as a decade.

The Taliban have already unveiled a “Monitoring and Control Plan of NGOs" which would allow the Islamic terror group to control everything that NGOs do with their aid. This is just the latest incarnation of the Taliban's old Commission for the Arrangement and Control of Companies and Organizations which included NGO coordinators and which padded the pockets of the Taliban with our aid. And the Taliban have already taken to seizing aid sent into the terror state.

In the Ghor province, the Taliban ruler announced that he was taking control over the NGOs and ordered them to turn over the money and pursue whatever projects the terrorists decided were worthwhile. Those who resisted were locked up, and while the order may be temporarily in abeyance after foreign protests, the terrorists keep testing us to see what they can away with.

The Taliban have been hungry to get their hands on foreign aid, but, likely guided by their Qatari backers, they've also been clever about it. They proposed a joint body with the international community to dispense aid. When that didn't work, they went back to their usual strategy of pressuring NGOs to hire Taliban members to determine where the aid should go and who should distribute it. But that's just a matter of cutting out the middleman for more direct control.

Since the NGOs rely heavily on local labor, all the Taliban have to do is intimidate Afghan employees into following their orders. And for a terror group that practices mutilation and beheading, that's not hard. Does anyone really believe that an Afghan with a wife and children living under Taliban rule is going to follow our aid guidelines rather than those of the gunmen?

The Taliban, like the Houthis in Yemen and other Islamic terror groups who both cause and profit from famines, have already been distributing and taking credit for humanitarian aid.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has also set up a "humanitarian trust fund" at a meeting hosted by Pakistan, a strong supporter of the Taliban, under the aegis of the Islamic Development Bank together with "international actors". One can only imagine where it will go.

NGOs are using Hawalas to move money into Afghanistan in order to bypass our sanctions on the Taliban. That means it's quite likely that international aid money is already crossing streams with funds being funneled to not only the Taliban but also to Al Qaeda and ISIS-K.

And since the Taliban control Afghanistan, they're also able to tax the Hawala system which means that any money we transfer, as Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield put it, "directly to NGOs" and is then moved by them to Afghanistan through Hawalas will go to the Taliban.

And that will be the first of a series of ways that the Taliban will profit from our humanitarian aid.

Humanitarian aid remains a major asset for Islamic terrorists from Hamas in Gaza to the Houthis in Yemen, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the Taliban in Afghanistan. While opium and rare earths are assets that require a great deal of labor and risk to exploit, foreign aid just shows up.

The Taliban continue to engage in diplomacy because we keep sending them money. But much as the Islamic terror group kept negotiating with us while plotting to seize the country, their willingness to engage in diplomacy doesn’t mean that they’ve become moderate. Only that the terrorists are once again playing on our naive faith in the power of international diplomacy.

After two decades of funding the Taliban with our efforts to rebuild Afghanistan, we’re still at it.

Portions of the nearly $1 billion in foreign aid stolen from the paychecks of American workers and the mouths of their children will be used to finance a new Jihad against Western nations.

A generation after 9/11, Americans are once again funding the terrorists who are out to kill them.

Did NIH Researcher Steal Taxpayer Funds?

STORY AT-A-GLANCE

  • U.S. federal law prohibits the use of “official resources,” such as federal funds or one’s job title, for private gain. A recent investigation has unveiled evidence showing Dennis Carroll, former director of the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Pandemic Threat Program, may have done just that
  • It appears that while Carroll oversaw the USAID PREDICT program, PREDICT funds were used to promote and further the Global Virome Project that Carroll cofounded. The goal of the Virome Project is to collect and catalog 1 million viruses from wildlife in an effort to predict which ones might cause a human epidemic
  • Emails released under a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request by U.S. Right to Know (USRTK) suggest Carroll’s work on the Virome Project began in March 2017, and that his work as USAID’s leader in viral surveillance and as the chair of the Global Virome Project overlapped for three years
  • The USAID PREDICT program also funded laboratory equipment for the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) in China through grants to the EcoHealth Alliance, and Shi Zhengli, a top coronavirus researcher at the WIV, not only worked with PREDICT but was also slated to work with the Global Virome Project
  • Metabiota, a core partner in the USAID PREDICT program, is funded by Rosemont Seneca (an investment fund co-managed by Hunter Biden) and In-Q-Tel (a CIA venture capital firm that specializes in high-tech innovations for U.S. intelligence agencies). The U.S. Department of Defense’s Threat Reduction Agency has also funded Metabiota to operate biolabs in the Ukraine

U.S. federal law prohibits the use of “official resources,” such as federal funds or one’s job title, for private gain, be it your own gain or someone you know. A recent investigation has unveiled evidence showing Dennis Carroll, former director of the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Pandemic Threat Program, may have done just that. As reported by investigative journalist Paul Thacker:1

“While at USAID, Dennis Carroll oversaw a federal program called PREDICT, from which funds were used to launch another organization called the Global Virome Project. After leaving USAID, Carroll then became chair of the Global Virome Project’s board.

‘It would appear that Dennis Carroll violated federal law that prohibits the use of official resources for private gain or for that of persons or organizations with which he is associated personally,’ Craig Holman of Public Citizen said when shown emails2 made public by the nonprofit US Right to Know.

‘Official resources — including government means of communications, government-funded travel or even the use of one’s official title — may not be used to promote private interests, such as the Global Virome Project.’”

U.S. Right to Know (USRTK) obtained the incriminating documents3 through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. According to USRTK,4 it appears Carroll first designed the PREDICT program as a proof of concept for the Global Virome Project, and while he was receiving six-figure paychecks ($166,500 in 2019) from the USAID, he then founded, promoted, and raised funds for the Global Virome Project, in some instances using USAID funding to do so.

Goals of the PREDICT Program and Global Virus Project

The USAID PREDICT program involved identifying viruses with pandemic potential. Contractors funded through this program have included the EcoHealth Alliance, headed by Peter Daszak who, incidentally, in the last year has also gotten into hot water over potential violations of law.

According to Thacker, in early March 2022, Congressional members sent a letter to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), asking the agency to investigate EcoHealth for potential “contract irregularities and anonymous private donations, in violation of a federal statute.”

The Global Virome Project was launched to hunt down and catalog previously unknown viruses around the globe. According to USRTK, the Global Virome Project is currently trying to obtain $1.2 billion to fund the collection and identification of more than 1 million viruses from wildlife, with the goal of predicting which ones might evolve to infect humans.

Virus Researcher May Have Siphoned Taxpayer Funds

As detailed by USRTK and Thacker, USAID appears to have funded overseas travel to promote and fundraise for the Global Virome Project using PREDICT program monies — all while Carroll was still heading the USAID.

What’s more, emails suggest Carroll may have used his position as USAID director of pandemic threats to build credibility for the controversial Virome Project and get it off the ground. As just one example, in an August 2017 fundraising pitch, one of the Global Virome Project board members stated that the idea for the project was “championed by the USAID Emerging Pandemic Threats Division.”5

Based on the emails obtained, it appears the USAID Pandemic Threats Division, under Carroll’s direction, funneled at least $270,969 to the Global Virome Project.6 However, it could potentially be hundreds of thousands of dollars more.

One email states that the Virome Project’s budget was overdrawn by $118,000 and that a $116,000 unobligated sub-award earmarked for Columbia University was offsetting the overdraft.

That email also referenced a $341,000 sub-award that would be given to Metabiota for a cost-benefit analysis once “the balance of our Y5 [year 5] obligation is received from USAID, but please let me know if this is unacceptable, and I’ll see what can possibly be done (creative accounting required).”7

Walter Shaub, former director of the Office of Government Ethics called the evidence “troubling,” as Carroll’s use of a USAID email address is prohibited if the Global Virome Project is not a government project, but his own.8 Kedric Payne, senior director of ethics with the watchdog group Campaign Legal Center, also commented, telling USRTK:9

“The law is clear that officials cannot use government resources to benefit themselves or prospective employers. If Carroll was involved in decisions benefitting GVP while he was at USAID, it is likely that he needed approval from the agency’s ethics officials. The public has a right to know if their public officials comply with conflict of interest laws.”

Similarly, Scott Amey, general counsel for another watchdog group called the Project on Government Oversight, stated, “There’s [sic] numerous conflict of interest laws that should be investigated here to ensure that Carroll didn’t violate the laws on the books.”10

Carroll’s Work on the Two Projects Overlapped for Years

While Carroll has publicly stated that he founded the Global Virome Project after he retired from USAID, this does not appear to be the case. While it’s still unclear when Carroll actually retired from USAID, the Los Angeles Times reported that PREDICT was shut down in September 2019, and according to The New York Times, Carroll retired when PREDICT shut down.

In February 2020, several news outlets reported that Carroll had stepped in as chair of the Global Virome Project.11 However, USRTK claims12 the emails show Carroll’s work on the Virome Project began in March 2017, and “indicate that Carroll’s work as USAID’s leader in viral surveillance and as the chair of the Global Virome Project overlapped for years.”

“Carroll organized calls and meetings on the project’s work with other co-founders, sought donations and helped refine fundraising pitches, pushed favorable messages in the press, and consulted on its application for tax-exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service — all while still working for USAID,” USRTK reports.13

Public Citizen Craig Holman told Thacker:14

“Whether or not Carrol is currently receiving lucrative compensation as chair of the Project is beside the point. [He] can still be held liable, even though he has left federal service. The Inspector General’s office should investigate whether the law was broken and, upon finding probable cause, refer the case to the Department of Justice for prosecution.”

On a side note, the FOIA documents also reveal a connection to the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) in China. It appears the USAID PREDICT program funded laboratory equipment for the WIV through grants to the EcoHealth Alliance.

Of course, we also know that EcoHealth Alliance funneled funding from the National Institutes of Health to the WIV by subcontracting research to them. According to USRTK, Shi Zhengli, a top coronavirus researcher at the WIV, not only worked with PREDICT but was also slated to work with the Global Virome Project.

In one March 2019 email from Daszak to someone at USAID (the recipient’s name has been redacted), Daszak notes that lawyers had flagged the overlap in Carroll’s role at USAID and the Virome Project as potentially problematic, and had suggested changes to a board of directors’ letter.

The details of what were changed have been redacted, but Daszak’s comment seems to imply that they’re aware that what they’re doing is not quite right. Daszak wrote: “I realize this isn’t the language you wanted, but it’s safer for us at this sensitive point where we still receive USAID funding ... for GVP related activities.”15

Lofty Goals That Have Resulted in Nothing

While Carroll has described the Global Virome Project as “the beginning of the end of the pandemic era,”16 critics have pointed out that the premise behind it brings more risk than reward. Michael Osterholm, director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota told USRTK:

“If I thought there was a kind of ‘viral smoke alarm,’ I would invest everything imaginable in that, but this project doesn’t give us that ... Deep knowledge about Zika and Nipah has still not led to proven vaccines against them ...

Show me one thing they’ve done that has made a difference, where they could even make a case that they supposedly prevented a pandemic. Which one did they prevent? Did they find anything that helped us with this coronavirus?”

Other critics include University of Sydney evolutionary biologist and virologist Edward C. Holmes, University of Edinburgh virologist Andrew Rambaut, and Scripps Research virologist Kristian G. Andersen. In a 2018 Nature article17 titled “Pandemics: Spend on Surveillance, Not Prediction,” the trio wrote that the Global Virome Project is unlikely to predict or prevent future pandemics because animal viruses rarely cause epidemics in humans:

“Around 250 human viruses have been described, and only a small subset of these have caused major epidemics this century. Advocates of prediction also argue that it will be possible to anticipate how likely a virus is to emerge in people on the basis of its sequence, and by using knowledge of how it interacts with cells (obtained, for instance, by studying the virus in human cell cultures). This is misguided.”

Curious Biden-China-Ukraine Connections

Other curious connections that are emerging from this story revolve around Metabiota, which was a core partner of the USAID PREDICT project, and later contracted to perform a cost-benefit analysis for the Global Virome Project. As detailed by the Daily Expose:18

One of Metabiota’s investors is Rosemont Seneca,19 an investment fund co-managed by Hunter Biden.20

In an exclusive report,21 the Daily Mail recently reported that evidence found on Hunter’s laptop confirms that he helped secure “millions in funding” for Metabiota, a U.S. contractor in Ukraine “specializing in deadly pathogen research,” which is what the Russian government on March 24, 2022, had claimed during a press conference.

Neil Callahan is a cofounder of Rosemont Seneca Technology Partners, and he not only sits on Metabiota’s board of advisers, but he also co-founded Pilot Growth Management, which is Metabiota’s primary investor.

Another Metabiota funder is In-Q-Tel, a CIA venture capital firm that specializes in high-tech investments that support or benefit the intelligence capacity of U.S. intelligence agencies.

Metabiota is also funded by the U.S. Department of Defense’s Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) to operate biolabs in Ukraine.

The founder of Metabiota, Nathan Wolfe, also has ties to the World Economic Forum (WEF), which is driving The Great Reset agenda. He’s a WEF Young Global Leader graduate and was awarded the WEF’s Technology Pioneer award in 2021.

Wolfe has served on the EcoHealth Alliance’s editorial board since 2004. In 2017, he co-wrote a study on coronaviruses in bats together with Daszak (EcoHealth). Wolfe has also received more than $20 million in research grants from Google, NIH, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and others.

According to the Daily Expose, Wolfe also has ties to deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. In his 2012 book, “The Viral Storm,” Wolfe thanked friends for their support, including Epstein and Boris Nikolic. Nikolic, a biotech venture capitalist, was named “back-up executor” in Epstein’s will.

Take Action

There are many things here that we, the American people, need to get to the bottom of, starting with the misuse of taxpayer funds. To that end, if you live in the U.S., I would suggest you contact members of Congress and ask them to investigate22 the potential unlawful actions of Carroll during his time at USAID.

The U.S. Congress has the power to conduct investigations into potential criminal conduct, and if malfeasance is found, they can then refer the matter to the Department of Justice for investigation and prosecution, if appropriate.23 To find out who your Congressman is, and their contact information, see USA.gov.

US Government Paid News Media $1 Billion to Promote Vaccines

STORY AT-A-GLANCE

  • A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request by TheBlaze shows Health and Human Services spent $1 billion for a media campaign to build public confidence in, and uptake of, COVID-19 vaccines using mainstream news outlets
  • News outlets that did respond to TheBlaze assured them the editorial staff are not influenced by advertising money, but it's not hard to imagine management would not look kindly on editorial staff who write content that doesn't align with the advertising narrative
  • Mounting evidence demonstrates why the government is paying for a good press since insurance companies reported a rise in all-cause mortality in late 2021
  • The first batch of Pfizer documents the FDA used to approve Comirnaty (Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine) was released March 1, 2022; mRNA technology inventor Dr. Robert Malone believes these papers show a break in the indemnification clauses, exposing Pfizer to potential civil and criminal liability

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released information to TheBlaze1 in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. The information showed that the federal government had purchased advertising to the tune of $1 billion taxpayer dollars as part of a media campaign to build vaccine confidence.

HHS2 has billed the campaign as a “national initiative to increase public confidence in, and uptake of, COVID-19 vaccines while reinforcing basic prevention measures such as mask-wearing and social distancing.” Data don’t support these measures, but the media campaign was likely hiding something more sinister.

HHS Paid News Media to Build Vaccine Confidence

Within the documents sent from HHS, TheBlaze3 found that hundreds of organizations in the news media were paid to produce TV, print, radio, and social media advertising timed to coincide with the increasing availability of the genetic therapy shots.

The government also collaborated with social media influencers whose audience included “communities hit hard by COVID-19” and also engaged “experts” to be interviewed and promote the mass vaccination campaign in the news.4 One of those experts was the director of NIAID and chief medical adviser to the White House, Dr. Anthony Fauci.

In other words, Fauci, the man who has been the “face” of COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021,5 who publicly disparaged anyone who questioned the data he was using to support his recommendations, and who blithely referred to himself as “the science,”6,7 was, in fact, a shill.

Virtually every one of the news organizations paid by HHS, including ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and the New York Post, covered stories about the vaccines and did not disclose they had accepted taxpayer dollars to support the vaccine effort. It is common practice for the editorial teams to function separately from the advertising departments, so it appears the organizations felt there was no need to disclose their funding.

The advertising took several forms, including an amusing social media campaign featuring Elton John and Michael Caine, fear-based ads that featured survivor stories, and straightforward informational ads promoting the safety and efficacy of the current mRNA shot for COVID-19.

Shani George, vice president of communications for The Washington Post made a statement about the funding they received for media advertising from the federal government, saying:8

"Advertisers pay for space to share their messages, as was the case here, and those ads are clearly labeled as such. The newsroom is completely independent from the advertising department.”

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Times also responded to TheBlaze and gave a similar response. Other publications either did not respond or declined to comment. However, it is important to note that the reporters and editorial staff responsible for news also likely read their own publications or watch the online videos.

It’s not hard to imagine that a large news organization promoting vaccinations through their advertising department would not look kindly on editorial staff who choose to report facts that do not align with large sums of money spent by advertisers. You can guess what the editorial staff may be told to write. TheBlaze offered several examples of thinly disguised advertising published as “news,” including:

  • An October BuzzFeed9 article featured "essential facts" about eligibility for the vaccine and unbalanced, pro-vaccine statements from health agency experts such as CDC director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra, and epidemiologist Dr. George Rutherford.
  • Articles in the Los Angeles Times10 featured "experts" advising people how to convince their vaccine-hesitant friends and relatives to change their minds.
  • A Washington Post article covered "the pro-vaccine messages people want to hear."11
  • A Newsmax article in November ran the headline "Newsmax Opposes Vaccine Mandate, Here's Why."12 The article, obviously an opinion piece, began by saying the mandate was a "dangerous overreach" and then proceeded to support the vaccine campaign with statements like, "The vaccine …has been demonstrated to be safe and effective" and "Newsmax has encouraged citizens, especially those at risk, to get immunized."

Journalistic Objectivity Likely Impossible

The U.S. government is not the only entity to recognize the power behind controlling the news media. Bill Gates is another. Using more than 30,000 grants, Gates has contributed at least $319 million to the media, which senior staff writer for MintPress News Alan McLeod revealed.13

Recipients included CNN, NPR, BBC, The Atlantic, and PBS. Gates has also sponsored foreign organizations that included The Daily Telegraph, the Financial Times, and Al Jazeera. More than $38 million has also been funneled into investigative journalism centers.

Gates’ influence within the press is far-reaching, from journalism to journalistic training. This ultimately makes true objective reporting about Gates or his initiatives virtually impossible. MacLeod writes:14

“Today, it is possible for an individual to train as a reporter thanks to a Gates Foundation grant, find work at a Gates-funded outlet, and to belong to a press association funded by Gates. This is especially true of journalists working in the fields of health, education and global development, the ones Gates himself is most active in and where scrutiny of the billionaire’s actions and motives are most necessary.”

It is important to note that Gates has an intense interest in health, specifically vaccinations.15 And with this power to control the media and his strong connections with health organizations such as Johns Hopkins, with whom he collaborated for Event 201,16 it’s not hard to imagine that his influence can be seen in many of the stories you read or watch each day.

This government overreach into the Fourth Estate is not unique to the U.S. Leaked documents17 have demonstrated that the BBC News and Reuters have also been involved in a covert operation in which the U.K. sought to infiltrate Russian media and promote a U.K. narrative using a network of Russian journalists.

Multimillion-dollar contracts were used to advance these aims, which included 15,000 journalists and staff. The campaign closely follows a U.S. clandestine CIA media infiltration campaign launched in 1948 called Operation Mockingbird.18,19 About one-third of the CIA budget, or $1 billion each year, was spent on bribes to hundreds of American journalists, who then published fake stories at the CIA's request.

While it may sound like ancient history, there's evidence to suggest it continues today. Although the messages have changed with the times, the basic modus operandi of dissemination remains the same. Other reports20,21,22 have also highlighted the role of intelligence agencies in the global effort to eliminate "anti-vaccine propaganda" from public discussion, and the fact that they're using sophisticated cyberwarfare tools to do so.

Facts Reveal Reason Government Is Paying News Media

All-cause mortality and death rates are difficult statistics to change. People are either dead or they're not. There is only one reason a person is included in the National Death Index Database: They have died regardless of the cause. Evidence is mounting that all-cause mortality is rising to levels greater than were seen during 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

OneAmerica,23 a mutual insurance holding company, announced the death rate in working-age Americans from 18 to 64 years in the third quarter of 2021 was 40% higher than pre-pandemic levels. Other insurance companies are also finding similar results and citing higher mortality rates.24

The Hartford Insurance Company announced mortality had increased 32% from 2019 and 20% from 2020 to 2021. Lincoln National also reported claims increased by 13.7% year-over-year and were 54% higher in the fourth quarter compared to 2019. Funeral homes are posting an increase in burials and cremations in 2021 over 2020.25

The overall mortality increase noted after the global release of the COVID shot is also being reported in other countries. A large German health insurance company reported their data26,27 were nearly 14 times greater than the number of deaths reported by the German government. The health insurance company gathered the data directly from doctors who were applying for payment from a sample of 10.9 million people.

A reporter from The Exposé28 notes that while the world has been distracted by Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the U.K. government quietly released a report29 that confirmed 9 in every 10 deaths from COVID-19 in England were in people who were fully vaccinated.

Each week the U.K. Health Security Agency publishes a surveillance report. The February 24, 2022, report shows 85% to 91% of adults who are infected, hospitalized, or died from COVID-19 were fully vaccinated.

Pfizer Documents Show Vaccines Not Fully Safe

Four days after the FDA approved the Pfizer vaccine for ages 16 and older, a group of public health professionals, doctors, scientists, and journalists submitted a FOIA request to release the data Pfizer used for the approval of Comirnaty.30 The nonprofit group of professionals is called the Public Health and Medical Professionals for Transparency (PHMPT).31

Despite the FDA’s claim that the organization was committed to transparency,32 the agency first requested 55 years33 to release the data that supported the approval of Comirnaty after the FOIA was filed and then asked for another 20 years to fully comply.34 All told, the FDA wanted 75 years to release documentation that supported their approval of a genetic therapy being promoted for mass vaccination.

When the FDA did not release the data, the PHMPT sued the FDA since it is the FDA’s statutory obligation35 to publish the documentation within 30 days of approving a drug. Although they asked for 75 years, on January 6, 2022, the court ordered the FDA to release 55,000 pages of the documents each month so they would be completed within 8 months.36

March 1, 2022, the first of those documents were released and have been posted for public view on the PMHPT website.37 What’s included in these documents may answer the question of why the government felt $1 billion was required to boost vaccine confidence.

An initial review of some of the papers by one Trial Site News reporter revealed many errors and anomalies. In an interview with Stephen Bannon, mRNA technology inventor Dr. Robert Malone talked about the documentation and the need to develop a team to comb through the information and catalog it for reference. He said:38

“So, all this information comes piped through pharmacovigilance what's called the pharmacovigilance shop at Pfizer and BioNTech. I presume Pfizer. And then that's been summarized and submitted to the FDA as a series of documents. So this is a window into what FDA actually knows, which is by inference what CDC knows.

When they tell us there’s no risks and we should go ahead and start mandating or forcing vaccination on our children, what we have for instance, in that section you're referring to of the listed adverse events is a huge list of what is considered to be adverse events of interest, which means that they're not just one-offs.

It happens multiple times throughout the world and what we're finding is embedded throughout this huge volume of documents that the judge has forced Pfizer and the FDA ... remember our government tried really hard to keep this information from us and fortunately the courts have called their bluff and forced them to disclose it. Now it's up to us to comb through it."

Malone went on to describe the trouble that will likely arise in the coming weeks and months for Pfizer and the FDA from the information that is now freely available to the public when Bannon asked, why is it so important that the courts demanded the information be released now?

"The courts have forced Pfizer and the FDA to comply with the law which is that after licensure is granted these documents must be made available. Previously they're considered confidential.

And remember that as Naomi's [Naomi Wolfe] about to discuss, and the truckers are so upset about, we have been forced to take these vaccines and we have been told that they're fully safe and effective. What this documents is the government has been well aware that they are not fully safe and has hidden this information from us.

What that really matters for Pfizer is that the indemnification clauses require Pfizer disclose known adverse events and this documentation demonstrates they didn't do so. A lot of the lawyers are licking their chops over this because it seems to indicate a break in the veil that may allow legal action basically due to fraud and concealment of these risks from the general public.

This is why you have not been able to have full informed consent, is they’ve hidden all this information from you and they’ve used all the propaganda and censorship tools — which you’re about to cover — and paid media, to keep all this information from you and spin it, so that you think the left is right and the down is the up and the moon is made of green cheese.”

Democrats Mull $100 Monthly ‘Biden Bucks’ Gas Stimulus Checks to Buy Your Vote

The Democrats have hit upon a simple way to end inflation. Why not give every American a $100 check every month to offset the inflation that their policies caused in the first place?

Better yet, Congress could give kids another $100 a month so that a family of three or four would be eligible for up to $300 a month in “Biden Bucks.”

Of course, what all that deficit spending will do to the inflation rate can only be guessed at. But when you have the power to print cash, it doesn’t matter, does it? If inflation gets too bad, you can always print up more “Biden Bucks.”

Eventually, they’d have to denude the Enchanted Forest of trees to print all that cash, but there are plenty more where those came from.

CBSNews:

American consumers could see increased costs of $2,000 this year due to the recent surge in gas prices — and that’s on top of an extra $1,000 in grocery store costs due to the steepest rise in inflation since 1982. Already, consumers are reporting they are cutting back on spending or driving less, with most blaming sticker shock at the pump.

The gas stimulus would “provide middle-class Americans with monthly payments to ease the financial burden of this global crisis,” Thompson said in a statement about the proposal, referring to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which has pushed gas prices higher.

Currently, millions of Americans would qualify for the payments based on current gas prices, which averaged $4.24 a gallon on March 22, according to AAA.

Called the Gas Rebate Act, the bill is being proposed by Democratic Reps. Mike Thompson of California, John Larson of Connecticut, and Lauren Underwood of Illinois. No word on how the Biden Bucks would be paid for, but if history is any guide — and when it comes to federal spending, it usually is — Congress will sorta, kinda, mostly forget that little detail when it comes to passing the bill.

A second proposal from Rep. Ro Khanna, a Democrat from California, and Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, a Democrat from Rhode Island, would provide a quarterly rebate to consumers based on a tax levied on oil and gas companies.

The Big Oil Windfall Profits Tax would charge a per barrel tax equal to 50% of the difference between the current price of a barrel of oil and its pre-pandemic average price between 2015 to 2019, according to a statement from the lawmakers.

The two lawmakers calculated that if the per barrel price sits at $120, the tax would raise about $45 billion a year — providing single filers with $240 annually and joint filers with $360 each year.

In 1980, Congress tried another “Windfall Profits Tax.” It defined “windfall profit” as the “excess of the removal price of a barrel of crude oil (amount for which barrel is sold) over the sum of the base price adjusted for inflation and the amount of the severance tax adjustment. Specifies that the windfall profit on any barrel of crude oil may not exceed 90 percent of the net income attributable to such barrel.”

The complexity of the oil industry — a complexity that no Democratic politician understands — can’t be reduced to gibbering bureaucratic blather in order to find a unique way of taxing profits.

If anyone thinks a “Big Oil Windfall Profits Tax” would bring in $45 billion, I have a fine, beautiful, bridge over the Chicago River I’d like to sell you.

It won’t be necessary, after all. Biden Bucks will be spent on something else in the government that will be equally wasteful, equally stupid, and equally expensive.

Treason is giving aid and comfort to the enemy. How is this not treason? But Biden’s handlers have nothing to worry about. The only people in positions to prosecute them are on their side.

“New Iran Agreement Would Let Russia Cash in on $10 Billion Contract To Build Nuclear Sites,” by Adam Kredo, Washington Free Beacon, March 16, 2022:

Russia’s top state-controlled energy company is set to cash in on a $10 billion contract to build out one of Iran’s most contested nuclear sites as part of concessions granted in the soon-to-be-announced nuclear agreement that will guarantee sanctions on both countries are lifted.

Russian and Iranian documents translated for the Washington Free Beacon show that Rosatom, Russia’s leading energy company, has a $10 billion contract with Iran’s atomic energy organization to expand Tehran’s Bushehr nuclear plant. Russia and the Biden administration confirmed on Tuesday that the new nuclear agreement includes carveouts that will waive sanctions on both countries so that Russia can make good on this contract.

“We, of course, would not sanction Russian participation in nuclear projects that are part of resuming full implementation of the JCPOA,” State Department spokesman Ned Price confirmed on Tuesday, referring to the original 2015 nuclear accord. Russia’s foreign ministry made a similar statement on Tuesday, saying that “additions were made to the text of the future agreement on JCPOA restoration to ensure that all the JCPOA-related projects, [especially] with Russian participation, as well as Bushehr [nuclear power plant], are protected from negative impact of anti-Russian restrictions” by the United States and European Union….

(Natural News) However bad the food shortage was expected to be due to Russia’s invasion of its Ukrainian neighbor, they are going to get worse following a decision made by the Kremlin earlier this week.

According to reports, the government of President Vladimir Putin has decided to halt all exports of most agricultural commodities including wheat, rye, barley and corn at least until June 30 in what appears to be Moscow’s pushback on the sanctions imposed on his country by the West.

Interfax, Russia’s newswire agency, reported that the country’s Agriculture Ministry announced the ban, which began March 15 – just as some observers, including One River CIO Eric Peters – are likening the coming global food shortages to the original Holodomor (which, by the way, occurred in Ukraine under Stalin). The Holodomor was a man-made famine instituted by that authoritarian butcher “from 1932 to 1933, peaking in the late spring of 1933,” Britannica.com noted.

The site added: It was part of a broader Soviet famine (1931–34) that also caused mass starvation in the grain-growing regions of Soviet Russia and Kazakhstan. The Ukrainian famine, however, was made deadlier by a series of political decrees and decisions that were aimed mostly or only at Ukraine. In acknowledgment of its scale, the famine of 1932–33 is often called the Holodomor, a term derived from the Ukrainian words for hunger (holod) and extermination (mor).

“The Agriculture Ministry, together with the Industry and Trade Ministry, has drafted a government resolution that provides for a temporary ban on the export of basic grain crops from Russia from March 15 to June 30 of the current year inclusive,” the ministry’s press office told Interfax.

There is still some hope that a worst-case scenario can be avoided, but that is becoming more doubtful literally by the day.

According to Douglas Karr, founder of the business blog Martech Zone, a global food shortage means just that – it will be global – so it will be felt in the “land of plenty” as well: America.

Karr reportedly spoke with several U.S. food industry officials who said farmers in the Midwest and South are already having difficulty obtaining enough fertilizer to grow crops ahead of this year’s planting season, which is just around the corner for some parts of the country. He also said that farmers in the “Midwest are switching,” likely a reference to crops that need fewer nutrients because they “can’t get nitrogen nor fertilizer.”

There is also this: Even before Russian troops stormed across Ukraine’s border, there were already global food shortages, thanks in large part to the supply chain crisis created (and perpetuated) by months-long lockdowns and factory closures following China’s creation and release of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19). In addition to Russia curbing exports, Ukraine’s government has also halted food exports to ensure that its people have enough as Russian forces continue pounding their cities and taking over land used for food production.

All said, the United Nations has warned that prices for food – which were already at record highs – will spike even more, from eight to 20 percent from this point on. Add on skyrocketing oil, gasoline and natural gas prices and you have all the makings of a worldwide catastrophe (and the massive unrest it will spark).

If Russia winds up banning food experts, and especially wheat, for months or longer, the global food shortages will likely lead to a far worse crisis than the one that caused the 2011 Arab Spring uprisings, tore Syria apart and spread to North Africa.

Americans Can’t Afford Gas, Congress Just Gave Itself a 21% Raise

BY DANIEL GREENFIELD

The $1.5 trillion omnibus bill has plenty of inflationary spending, and the honorable members of the legislature didn’t leave themselves out.

As part of the $1.5 trillion omnibus spending bill released Wednesday, the $5.9 billion fiscal 2022 Legislative Branch funding portion would substantially boost the office budgets of House members to pay staff more…

This legislation would provide $774.4 million for the Members Representational Allowance, known as the MRA, which funds the House office budgets for lawmakers, including staffer salaries. This $134.4 million, or 21 percent, boost over the previous fiscal year marks the largest increase in the MRA appropriation since it was authorized in 1996, according to a bill summary by the House Appropriations Committee. For paid interns in member and leadership offices, the House would get $18.2 million.

It’s not technically a pay hike for congress members, but, in particular House members, are notorious for putting family members on the payroll. And for using staffers to run their errands and handle assorted personal projects for them.

In August, Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced staffers’ salaries could exceed those of lawmakers. Members in both the House and Senate, with the exception of leadership, make an annual salary of $174,000. Staffers can make up to $199,300.

That’s convenient since it can act as a pay hike without the negative press.

MRAs tend to be between $1.2 and $1.4 million. A massive MRA increase has all sorts of political and potentially personal benefits. It’s also completely indefensible during an economic crisis.

House Dem leaders are cheering the disgusting pork sandwich as a victory for diversity.

House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) and House Democratic Caucus Chair Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08), released the following statement this morning on the inclusion of a 21% increase in Member Representational Allowance (MRA) funding in the Fiscal Year 2022 Omnibus legislation.

Leader Hoyer and Chair Jeffries have long advocated for this increase to the MRA in order to ensure that Members, leaders, and committees can attract and retain the best and brightest to help them serve the American people while promoting a more diverse workforce.

Is there any obscenity that can’t be justified in the name of diversity?

“We join in thanking Chairwoman DeLauro and Ranking Member Granger as well as the Members on the Appropriation Committee for producing a bipartisan omnibus package that includes this increase in office budgets so that Congressional staff pay can be a priority and enhance this institution’s ability to deliver For the People.”

For the People.

Ask not what Congress can do for you, ask what you can do for Congress.

Tulsi Gabbard: Labs need to be 'shut down immediately'

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational & research purposes:

A Ukrainian bio lab receiving funds from the U.S. government was formerly a bioweapons factory under the control of the Soviet Union, with experts recently reporting a “lack of modern biosafety equipment” as well as “lethal microbes that in the West would be locked away in high-containment laboratories,” the National Pulse can reveal.

An article published by the Washington Post on August 30th, 2005 – “U.S. to Aid Ukraine in Countering Bioweapons” – reveals a lab now receiving U.S. government funds formerly “supplied highly lethal pathogens to Soviet bioweapons factories”:

“One lab to receive funding is the I.I. Mechnikov Antiplague Scientific and Research Institute, in the Black Sea port city of Odessa. The institute was part of a Cold War network of “antiplague” stations that supplied highly lethal pathogens to Soviet bioweapons factories.”

In 2008, researchers from the James Martin Center for Non-Proliferation Studies in Monterey California noted of the Mechnikov facility:

“…its management claimed in 2003 that it knew nothing about either the Soviet offensive or defensive [bioweapons] program. We question the second since it was in effect a closed facility until the late 1980s and worked on highly dangerous Group II pathogens and, probably, at least at time on some Group I pathogens since at least 1965. It would make sense if at least one of its laboratories worked on Problem 5 projects.

“Problem 5” was the codename given to the Soviet bioweapons program.

Another report by the James Martin Center revealed disturbing practices at the U.S.-funded facility (emphases added):

The lack of modern biosafety equipment is also raising concern among U.S. officials about the potential for an accidental release of deadly bacteria and viruses. In Odessa, where 44 scientists and about 140 support staff carry out research in the I.I. Mechnikov Anti-plague Scientific and Research Institute, scientists wearing cotton smocks and surgical masks work with lethal microbes that in the West would be locked away in high-containment laboratories and handled only by scientists in spacesuits. The lab’s scientists said their training in handling dangerous materials allowed them to work safely with pathogens without Western-style safety equipment—which they viewed as unnecessary and which in any case they cannot afford. “Many of the institutes are located in downtown areas and some work with pathogens with windows wide open,” said Sonia Ben Ouagrham, who coauthored the Monterey study with Zilinskas and Alexander Melikishvili.

The news follows Biden State Department official Victoria Nuland telling the U.S. Senate that the American government is concerned about biological research facilities falling into Russian hands as a result of the ongoing conflict in Eastern Europe, despite the department appearing to correct her testimony the following day.

The unearthed article also confirms a previous National Pulse report revealing how former President Barack Obama spearheaded negotiations leading to the lab eventually receiving U.S. government funds as part of a memorandum of understanding with the U.S. Department of Defense.

“The agreement, the result of more than a year of negotiations, was announced by Sens. Richard G. Lugar (R-Ind.) and Barack Obama (D-Ill.) during a visit to the Ukrainian capital, Kiev,” notes The Washington Post.

A separate article from The Irish Times – “Odessa Labs Host Deadly Legacy” – explains the Odessa-based laboratory’s former connections to the Soviet Union’s biological weapons programs.

Dubbed a “repository of knowledge, equipment and lethal pathogens that could be useful to bioterrorists,” the lab Obama negotiated to receive U.S. funds was highlighted for its inadequate safety precautions.

“The institutes were not officially part of the Soviet bioweapons complex, so they have been ineligible for the tens of millions of dollars given each year by western governments to keep former weapons scientists from selling their expertise. These governments are just beginning to look for ways to help the institutes, and not only because of the bioterrorism threat. In a two-year study of Russia’s biotech industry, a panel of the US National Academy of Sciences recently urged former Soviet republics to modernize the anti-plague labs and integrate them with other global networks working to prevent pandemics,” added the article.

“They often have culture collections of pathogens that lack biosecurity, and they employ people who are well-versed in investigating and handling deadly pathogens,” said Raymond Zilinskas, a bioweapons expert and co-author of a draft report by scholars from the Centre for Nonproliferation Studies at the Monterey Institute of International Studies on the role of Ukrainian labs in Soviet bioweapon efforts

“Some are located at sites accessible to terrorist groups and criminal groups,” he added.

The unearthed bio lab facility follows intense scrutiny over the U.S. government’s decision to fund risky, “gain-of-function” research in Wuhan at a Chinese Communist Partyrun lab with military ties.

Congress to Pass $1.5 Trillion Spending Bill Packed with Far-left Policies

Democrats and Republicans in Congress have teamed up to push a radical leftist, $1.5 trillion “omnibus” spending bill — accelerating the federal government’s reckless spending while implementing multiple far-left, Marxist policies.

On Tuesday, March 8, negotiators of both parties announced a “bipartisan” agreement on the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2022, numbered H.R. 2471. This 2,741-page bill authorizes a total of $1.5 trillion in spending on various government programs for Fiscal Year 2022.

On Wednesday, March 9, the House passed H.R. 2471. The vote was delayed for hours over a dispute among Democrats regarding $15 billion in COVID-19 spending. Originally, the spending would have been offset by removing already-passed Covid aid for states, but House Democrat leadership ultimately removed the funding altogether while promising to pass it separately next week.

H.R. 2471 was voted on in two pieces, a method chosen by establishment leadership to ensure its passage. The provisions related to the military and homeland security passed by a 361-69 vote, while the domestic-spending provisions passed by a 260-171 vote. The bill now goes to the Senate for consideration; a vote will most likely occur between Friday evening and Sunday.

H.R. 2471 continues and accelerates the federal government’s reckless overspending that will result in economic catastrophe. Not only does the bill authorize $1.5 trillion in spending in just one year, but, according to Senate Democrats, it “includes a 6.7 percent increase for non-defense discretionary spending, the largest increase in non-defense programs in four years.” Meanwhile, neocon Senate Republicans are lauding a massive increase in defense spending plus nearly $14 billion in “emergency funding” for Ukraine.

Additionally, H.R. 2471’s provisions are blatantly unconstitutional and implement far-left, Marxist policies. One of the worst of the provisions snuck into the bill is the misleadingly titled “Violence Against Women Act” (VAWA). This radical provision would:
  • enact tyrannical gun-control policies, particularly empowering the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) to deputize local law enforcement to act as ATF agents, and to launch criminal investigations into law-abiding citizens who are mistakenly denied by the NICS background check system;
  • impose Marxist “gender identity” protections that would require women’s shelters to accept gender-confused men if they wish to participate in VAWA grant programs. The bill doesn’t include any religious exemptions;
  • insert Critical Race Theory into federal government policy by mandating “improving equity and reducing disparities”;
  • allow Indian tribal courts to exercise jurisdiction over non-Indians in direct violation of Articles II and III of the U.S. Constitution; and
  • fund a grant program that promotes the notion that it is “reproductive coercion” and domestic violence for fathers to dissuade their wives or girlfriends to not commit an abortion.

VAWA is one of the most extreme programs snuck into H.R. 2471, but it is not the only one. The omnibus bill also:

  • unconstitutionally spends over $33 billion on government education, something the federal government has absolutely no business doing;
  • spends over $100 billion on leftist “Green New Deal” programs, further implementing a radical climate-change agenda and rigging the economy in favor of “green” energy;
  • includes over 4,000 wasteful “pork” earmarks (totaling billions of dollars) for the first time since 2011;
  • as mentioned above, spends $13.6 billion in aid for Ukraine, further entangling the United States in foreign conflicts;
  • spends $0 on border security or other programs that would end mass migration into the United States, despite spending hundreds of millions of dollars on border security in foreign countries;
  • expands Marxist “diversity, equality, and inclusion” at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence;
  • spends billions of dollars on multiple wasteful welfare programs, government subsidies, and grants; and
  • continues the federal government’s COVID-19 “national emergency.”

H.R. 2471 includes many other wasteful and radical provisions, but what is mentioned above is sufficient to show the danger it poses to the Constitution and American liberty. The U.S. Senate would be wise to reject H.R. 2471 and instead only pass legislation that upholds the Constitution and individual liberty.

With Americans Unable to Buy Gas, Biden Wants to Spend $2,000,000,000 on Global Gender Equality

Americans are struggling to pay for gas, buy bread and meat, but the progressive regime always has money to burn on its political causes.

President Biden will request $2.6 billion for foreign assistance programs that promote general equality worldwide, he announced on International Women’s Day on Tuesday.

How about promoting the ability of Americans to work, eat, drive, and be able to pay their bills?

“Ensuring that every woman and girl has that chance isn’t just the right thing to do — it’s also a strategic imperative that advances the prosperity, stability, and security of our nation and the world,” Biden falsely claimed.

No, moving money to assorted leftist international groups is not a strategic imperative for America, just for the Left.

It has nothing to do with our “prosperity, stability, and security”.

If Biden wants to aid our “prosperity, stability, and security,” he can start by stopping the spending machine so that inflation doesn’t eat Americans alive.

And if he wants to help women, he can stop smelling their hair, groping them, and sexually assaulting them.

Madam Speaker, Madam Vice President, our First Lady and Second Gentleman. Members of Congress and the Cabinet. Justices of the Supreme Court. My fellow Americans.

Last year COVID-19 kept us apart. This year we are finally together again.

Tonight, we meet as Democrats Republicans and Independents. But most importantly as Americans.

With a duty to one another to the American people to the Constitution.

And with an unwavering resolve that freedom will always triumph over tyranny.

Six days ago, Russia’s Vladimir Putin sought to shake the foundations of the free world thinking he could make it bend to his menacing ways. But he badly miscalculated.

He thought he could roll into Ukraine and the world would roll over. Instead he met a wall of strength he never imagined.

He met the Ukrainian people.

From President Zelenskyy to every Ukrainian, their fearlessness, their courage, their determination, inspires the world.

Groups of citizens blocking tanks with their bodies. Everyone from students to retirees teachers turned soldiers defending their homeland.

In this struggle as President Zelenskyy said in his speech to the European Parliament “Light will win over darkness.” The Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States is here tonight.

Let each of us here tonight in this Chamber send an unmistakable signal to Ukraine and to the world.

Please rise if you are able and show that, Yes, we the United States of America stand with the Ukrainian people.

Throughout our history we’ve learned this lesson when dictators do not pay a price for their aggression they cause more chaos.

They keep moving.

And the costs and the threats to America and the world keep rising.

That’s why the NATO Alliance was created to secure peace and stability in Europe after World War 2.

The United States is a member along with 29 other nations.

It matters. American diplomacy matters. American resolve matters.

Putin’s latest attack on Ukraine was premeditated and unprovoked.

He rejected repeated efforts at diplomacy.

He thought the West and NATO wouldn’t respond. And he thought he could divide us at home. Putin was wrong. We were ready. Here is what we did.

We prepared extensively and carefully.

We spent months building a coalition of other freedom-loving nations from Europe and the Americas to Asia and Africa to confront Putin.

I spent countless hours unifying our European allies. We shared with the world in advance what we knew Putin was planning and precisely how he would try to falsely justify his aggression.

We countered Russia’s lies with truth.

And now that he has acted the free world is holding him accountable.

Along with twenty-seven members of the European Union including France, Germany, Italy, as well as countries like the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and many others, even Switzerland.

We are inflicting pain on Russia and supporting the people of Ukraine. Putin is now isolated from the world more than ever.

Together with our allies –we are right now enforcing powerful economic sanctions.

We are cutting off Russia’s largest banks from the international financial system.

Preventing Russia’s central bank from defending the Russian Ruble making Putin’s $630 Billion “war fund” worthless.

We are choking off Russia’s access to technology that will sap its economic strength and weaken its military for years to come.

Tonight I say to the Russian oligarchs and corrupt leaders who have bilked billions of dollars off this violent regime no more.

The U.S. Department of Justice is assembling a dedicated task force to go after the crimes of Russian oligarchs.

We are joining with our European allies to find and seize your yachts your luxury apartments your private jets. We are coming for your ill-begotten gains.

And tonight I am announcing that we will join our allies in closing off American air space to all Russian flights – further isolating Russia – and adding an additional squeeze –on their economy. The Ruble has lost 30% of its value.

The Russian stock market has lost 40% of its value and trading remains suspended. Russia’s economy is reeling and Putin alone is to blame.

Together with our allies we are providing support to the Ukrainians in their fight for freedom. Military assistance. Economic assistance. Humanitarian assistance.

We are giving more than $1 Billion in direct assistance to Ukraine.

And we will continue to aid the Ukrainian people as they defend their country and to help ease their suffering.

Let me be clear, our forces are not engaged and will not engage in conflict with Russian forces in Ukraine.

Our forces are not going to Europe to fight in Ukraine, but to defend our NATO Allies – in the event that Putin decides to keep moving west.

For that purpose we’ve mobilized American ground forces, air squadrons, and ship deployments to protect NATO countries including Poland, Romania, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.

As I have made crystal clear the United States and our Allies will defend every inch of territory of NATO countries with the full force of our collective power.

And we remain clear-eyed. The Ukrainians are fighting back with pure courage. But the next few days weeks, months, will be hard on them.

Putin has unleashed violence and chaos. But while he may make gains on the battlefield – he will pay a continuing high price over the long run.

And a proud Ukrainian people, who have known 30 years of independence, have repeatedly shown that they will not tolerate anyone who tries to take their country backwards.

To all Americans, I will be honest with you, as I’ve always promised. A Russian dictator, invading a foreign country, has costs around the world.

And I’m taking robust action to make sure the pain of our sanctions is targeted at Russia’s economy. And I will use every tool at our disposal to protect American businesses and consumers.

Tonight, I can announce that the United States has worked with 30 other countries to release 60 Million barrels of oil from reserves around the world.

America will lead that effort, releasing 30 Million barrels from our own Strategic Petroleum Reserve. And we stand ready to do more if necessary, unified with our allies.

These steps will help blunt gas prices here at home. And I know the news about what’s happening can seem alarming.

But I want you to know that we are going to be okay.

When the history of this era is written Putin’s war on Ukraine will have left Russia weaker and the rest of the world stronger.

While it shouldn’t have taken something so terrible for people around the world to see what’s at stake now everyone sees it clearly.

We see the unity among leaders of nations and a more unified Europe a more unified West. And we see unity among the people who are gathering in cities in large crowds around the world even in Russia to demonstrate their support for Ukraine.

In the battle between democracy and autocracy, democracies are rising to the moment, and the world is clearly choosing the side of peace and security.

This is a real test. It’s going to take time. So let us continue to draw inspiration from the iron will of the Ukrainian people.

To our fellow Ukrainian Americans who forge a deep bond that connects our two nations we stand with you.

Putin may circle Kyiv with tanks, but he will never gain the hearts and souls of the Ukrainian people.

He will never extinguish their love of freedom. He will never weaken the resolve of the free world.

We meet tonight in an America that has lived through two of the hardest years this nation has ever faced.

The pandemic has been punishing.

And so many families are living paycheck to paycheck, struggling to keep up with the rising cost of food, gas, housing, and so much more.

I understand.

I remember when my Dad had to leave our home in Scranton, Pennsylvania to find work. I grew up in a family where if the price of food went up, you felt it.

That’s why one of the first things I did as President was fight to pass the American Rescue Plan.

Because people were hurting. We needed to act, and we did.

Few pieces of legislation have done more in a critical moment in our history to lift us out of crisis.

It fueled our efforts to vaccinate the nation and combat COVID-19. It delivered immediate economic relief for tens of millions of Americans.

Helped put food on their table, keep a roof over their heads, and cut the cost of health insurance.

And as my Dad used to say, it gave people a little breathing room.

And unlike the $2 Trillion tax cut passed in the previous administration that benefitted the top 1% of Americans, the American Rescue Plan helped working people—and left no one behind.

And it worked. It created jobs. Lots of jobs.

In fact—our economy created over 6.5 Million new jobs just last year, more jobs created in one year
than ever before in the history of America.

Our economy grew at a rate of 5.7% last year, the strongest growth in nearly 40 years, the first step in bringing fundamental change to an economy that hasn’t worked for the working people of this nation for too long.

For the past 40 years we were told that if we gave tax breaks to those at the very top, the benefits would trickle down to everyone else.

But that trickle-down theory led to weaker economic growth, lower wages, bigger deficits, and the widest gap between those at the top and everyone else in nearly a century.

Vice President Harris and I ran for office with a new economic vision for America.

Invest in America. Educate Americans. Grow the workforce. Build the economy from the bottom up
and the middle out, not from the top down.

Because we know that when the middle class grows, the poor have a ladder up and the wealthy do very well.

America used to have the best roads, bridges, and airports on Earth.

Now our infrastructure is ranked 13th in the world.

We won’t be able to compete for the jobs of the 21st Century if we don’t fix that.

That’s why it was so important to pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law—the most sweeping investment to rebuild America in history.

This was a bipartisan effort, and I want to thank the members of both parties who worked to make it happen.

We’re done talking about infrastructure weeks.

We’re going to have an infrastructure decade.

It is going to transform America and put us on a path to win the economic competition of the 21st Century that we face with the rest of the world—particularly with China.

As I’ve told Xi Jinping, it is never a good bet to bet against the American people.

We’ll create good jobs for millions of Americans, modernizing roads, airports, ports, and waterways all across America.

And we’ll do it all to withstand the devastating effects of the climate crisis and promote environmental justice.

We’ll build a national network of 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations, begin to replace poisonous lead pipes—so every child—and every American—has clean water to drink at home and at school, provide affordable high-speed internet for every American—urban, suburban, rural, and tribal communities.

4,000 projects have already been announced.

And tonight, I’m announcing that this year we will start fixing over 65,000 miles of highway and 1,500 bridges in disrepair.

When we use taxpayer dollars to rebuild America – we are going to Buy American: buy American products to support American jobs.

The federal government spends about $600 Billion a year to keep the country safe and secure.

There’s been a law on the books for almost a century
to make sure taxpayers’ dollars support American jobs and businesses.

Every Administration says they’ll do it, but we are actually doing it.

We will buy American to make sure everything from the deck of an aircraft carrier to the steel on highway guardrails are made in America.

But to compete for the best jobs of the future, we also need to level the playing field with China and other competitors.

That’s why it is so important to pass the Bipartisan Innovation Act sitting in Congress that will make record investments in emerging technologies and American manufacturing.

Let me give you one example of why it’s so important to pass it.

If you travel 20 miles east of Columbus, Ohio, you’ll find 1,000 empty acres of land.

It won’t look like much, but if you stop and look closely, you’ll see a “Field of dreams,” the ground on which America’s future will be built.

This is where Intel, the American company that helped build Silicon Valley, is going to build its $20 billion semiconductor “mega site”.

Up to eight state-of-the-art factories in one place. 10,000 new good-paying jobs.

Some of the most sophisticated manufacturing in the world to make computer chips the size of a fingertip that power the world and our everyday lives.

Smartphones. The Internet. Technology we have yet to invent.

But that’s just the beginning.

Intel’s CEO, Pat Gelsinger, who is here tonight, told me they are ready to increase their investment from
$20 billion to $100 billion.

That would be one of the biggest investments in manufacturing in American history.

And all they’re waiting for is for you to pass this bill.

So let’s not wait any longer. Send it to my desk. I’ll sign it.

And we will really take off.

And Intel is not alone.

There’s something happening in America.

Just look around and you’ll see an amazing story.

The rebirth of the pride that comes from stamping products “Made In America.” The revitalization of American manufacturing.

Companies are choosing to build new factories here, when just a few years ago, they would have built them overseas.

That’s what is happening. Ford is investing $11 billion to build electric vehicles, creating 11,000 jobs across the country.

GM is making the largest investment in its history—$7 billion to build electric vehicles, creating 4,000 jobs in Michigan.

All told, we created 369,000 new manufacturing jobs in America just last year.

Powered by people I’ve met like JoJo Burgess, from generations of union steelworkers from Pittsburgh, who’s here with us tonight.

As Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown says, “It’s time to bury the label “Rust Belt.”

It’s time.

But with all the bright spots in our economy, record job growth and higher wages, too many families are struggling to keep up with the bills.

Inflation is robbing them of the gains they might otherwise feel.

I get it. That’s why my top priority is getting prices under control.

Look, our economy roared back faster than most predicted, but the pandemic meant that businesses had a hard time hiring enough workers to keep up production in their factories.

The pandemic also disrupted global supply chains.

When factories close, it takes longer to make goods and get them from the warehouse to the store, and prices go up.

Look at cars.

Last year, there weren’t enough semiconductors to make all the cars that people wanted to buy.

And guess what, prices of automobiles went up.

So—we have a choice.

One way to fight inflation is to drive down wages and make Americans poorer.

I have a better plan to fight inflation.

Lower your costs, not your wages.

Make more cars and semiconductors in America.

More infrastructure and innovation in America.

More goods moving faster and cheaper in America.

More jobs where you can earn a good living in America.

And instead of relying on foreign supply chains, let’s make it in America.

Economists call it “increasing the productive capacity of our economy.”

I call it building a better America.

My plan to fight inflation will lower your costs and lower the deficit.

17 Nobel laureates in economics say my plan will ease long-term inflationary pressures. Top business leaders and most Americans support my plan. And here’s the plan:

First – cut the cost of prescription drugs. Just look at insulin. One in ten Americans has diabetes. In Virginia, I met a 13-year-old boy named Joshua Davis.

He and his Dad both have Type 1 diabetes, which means they need insulin every day. Insulin costs about $10 a vial to make.

But drug companies charge families like Joshua and his Dad up to 30 times more. I spoke with Joshua’s mom.

Imagine what it’s like to look at your child who needs insulin and have no idea how you’re going to pay for it.

What it does to your dignity, your ability to look your child in the eye, to be the parent you expect to be.

Joshua is here with us tonight. Yesterday was his birthday. Happy birthday, buddy.

For Joshua, and for the 200,000 other young people with Type 1 diabetes, let’s cap the cost of insulin at $35 a month so everyone can afford it.

Drug companies will still do very well. And while we’re at it let Medicare negotiate lower prices for prescription drugs, like the VA already does.

Look, the American Rescue Plan is helping millions of families on Affordable Care Act plans save $2,400 a year on their health care premiums. Let’s close the coverage gap and make those savings permanent.

Second – cut energy costs for families an average of $500 a year by combatting climate change.

Let’s provide investments and tax credits to weatherize your homes and businesses to be energy efficient and you get a tax credit; double America’s clean energy production in solar, wind, and so much more; lower the price of electric vehicles, saving you another $80 a month because you’ll never have to pay at the gas pump again.

Third – cut the cost of child care. Many families pay up to $14,000 a year for child care per child.

Middle-class and working families shouldn’t have to pay more than 7% of their income for care of young children.

My plan will cut the cost in half for most families and help parents, including millions of women, who left the workforce during the pandemic because they couldn’t afford child care, to be able to get back to work.

My plan doesn’t stop there. It also includes home and long-term care. More affordable housing. And Pre-K for every 3- and 4-year-old.

All of these will lower costs.

And under my plan, nobody earning less than $400,000 a year will pay an additional penny in new taxes. Nobody.

The one thing all Americans agree on is that the tax system is not fair. We have to fix it.

I’m not looking to punish anyone. But let’s make sure corporations and the wealthiest Americans start paying their fair share.

Just last year, 55 Fortune 500 corporations earned $40 billion in profits and paid zero dollars in federal income tax.

That’s simply not fair. That’s why I’ve proposed a 15% minimum tax rate for corporations.

We got more than 130 countries to agree on a global minimum tax rate so companies can’t get out of paying their taxes at home by shipping jobs and factories overseas.

That’s why I’ve proposed closing loopholes so the very wealthy don’t pay a lower tax rate than a teacher or a firefighter.

So that’s my plan. It will grow the economy and lower costs for families.

So what are we waiting for? Let’s get this done. And while you’re at it, confirm my nominees to the Federal Reserve, which plays a critical role in fighting inflation.

My plan will not only lower costs to give families a fair shot, it will lower the deficit.

The previous Administration not only ballooned the deficit with tax cuts for the very wealthy and corporations, it undermined the watchdogs whose job was to keep pandemic relief funds from being wasted.

But in my administration, the watchdogs have been welcomed back.

We’re going after the criminals who stole billions in relief money meant for small businesses and millions of Americans.

And tonight, I’m announcing that the Justice Department will name a chief prosecutor for pandemic fraud.

By the end of this year, the deficit will be down to less than half what it was before I took office.

The only president ever to cut the deficit by more than one trillion dollars in a single year.

Lowering your costs also means demanding more competition.

I’m a capitalist, but capitalism without competition isn’t capitalism.

It’s exploitation—and it drives up prices.

When corporations don’t have to compete, their profits go up, your prices go up, and small businesses and family farmers and ranchers go under.

We see it happening with ocean carriers moving goods in and out of America.

During the pandemic, these foreign-owned companies raised prices by as much as 1,000% and made record profits.

Tonight, I’m announcing a crackdown on these companies overcharging American businesses and consumers.

And as Wall Street firms take over more nursing homes, quality in those homes has gone down and costs have gone up.

That ends on my watch.

Medicare is going to set higher standards for nursing homes and make sure your loved ones get the care they deserve and expect.

We’ll also cut costs and keep the economy going strong by giving workers a fair shot, provide more training and apprenticeships, hire them based on their skills not degrees.

Let’s pass the Paycheck Fairness Act and paid leave.

Raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour and extend the Child Tax Credit, so no one has to raise a family in poverty.

Let’s increase Pell Grants and increase our historic support of HBCUs, and invest in what Jill—our First Lady who teaches full-time—calls America’s best-kept secret: community colleges.

And let’s pass the PRO Act when a majority of workers want to form a union—they shouldn’t be stopped.

When we invest in our workers, when we build the economy from the bottom up and the middle out together, we can do something we haven’t done in a long time: build a better America.

For more than two years, COVID-19 has impacted every decision in our lives and the life of the nation.

And I know you’re tired, frustrated, and exhausted.

But I also know this.

Because of the progress we’ve made, because of your resilience and the tools we have, tonight I can say
we are moving forward safely, back to more normal routines.

We’ve reached a new moment in the fight against COVID-19, with severe cases down to a level not seen since last July.

Just a few days ago, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention—the CDC—issued new mask guidelines.

Under these new guidelines, most Americans in most of the country can now be mask free.

And based on the projections, more of the country will reach that point across the next couple of weeks.

Thanks to the progress we have made this past year, COVID-19 need no longer control our lives.

I know some are talking about “living with COVID-19”. Tonight – I say that we will never just accept living with COVID-19.

We will continue to combat the virus as we do other diseases. And because this is a virus that mutates and spreads, we will stay on guard.

Here are four common sense steps as we move forward safely.

First, stay protected with vaccines and treatments. We know how incredibly effective vaccines are. If you’re vaccinated and boosted you have the highest degree of protection.

We will never give up on vaccinating more Americans. Now, I know parents with kids under 5 are eager to see a vaccine authorized for their children.

The scientists are working hard to get that done and we’ll be ready with plenty of vaccines when they do.

We’re also ready with anti-viral treatments. If you get COVID-19, the Pfizer pill reduces your chances of ending up in the hospital by 90%.

We’ve ordered more of these pills than anyone in the world. And Pfizer is working overtime to get us 1 Million pills this month and more than double that next month.

And we’re launching the “Test to Treat” initiative so people can get tested at a pharmacy, and if they’re positive, receive antiviral pills on the spot at no cost.

If you’re immunocompromised or have some other vulnerability, we have treatments and free high-quality masks.

We’re leaving no one behind or ignoring anyone’s needs as we move forward.

And on testing, we have made hundreds of millions of tests available for you to order for free.

Even if you already ordered free tests tonight, I am announcing that you can order more from covidtests.gov starting next week.

Second – we must prepare for new variants. Over the past year, we’ve gotten much better at detecting new variants.

If necessary, we’ll be able to deploy new vaccines within 100 days instead of many more months or years.

And, if Congress provides the funds we need, we’ll have new stockpiles of tests, masks, and pills ready if needed.

I cannot promise a new variant won’t come. But I can promise you we’ll do everything within our power to be ready if it does.

Third – we can end the shutdown of schools and businesses. We have the tools we need.

It’s time for Americans to get back to work and fill our great downtowns again. People working from home can feel safe to begin to return to the office.

We’re doing that here in the federal government. The vast majority of federal workers will once again work in person.

Our schools are open. Let’s keep it that way. Our kids need to be in school.

And with 75% of adult Americans fully vaccinated and hospitalizations down by 77%, most Americans can remove their masks, return to work, stay in the classroom, and move forward safely.

We achieved this because we provided free vaccines, treatments, tests, and masks.

Of course, continuing this costs money.

I will soon send Congress a request.

The vast majority of Americans have used these tools and may want to again, so I expect Congress to pass it quickly.

Fourth, we will continue vaccinating the world.

We’ve sent 475 Million vaccine doses to 112 countries, more than any other nation.

And we won’t stop.

We have lost so much to COVID-19. Time with one another. And worst of all, so much loss of life.

Let’s use this moment to reset. Let’s stop looking at COVID-19 as a partisan dividing line and see it for what it is: A God-awful disease.

Let’s stop seeing each other as enemies, and start seeing each other for who we really are: Fellow Americans.

We can’t change how divided we’ve been. But we can change how we move forward—on COVID-19 and other issues we must face together.

I recently visited the New York City Police Department days after the funerals of Officer Wilbert Mora and his partner, Officer Jason Rivera.

They were responding to a 9-1-1 call when a man shot and killed them with a stolen gun.

Officer Mora was 27 years old.

Officer Rivera was 22.

Both Dominican Americans who’d grown up on the same streets they later chose to patrol as police officers.

I spoke with their families and told them that we are forever in debt for their sacrifice, and we will carry on their mission to restore the trust and safety every community deserves.

I’ve worked on these issues a long time.

I know what works: Investing in crime preventionand community police officers who’ll walk the beat, who’ll know the neighborhood, and who can restore trust and safety.

So let’s not abandon our streets. Or choose between safety and equal justice.

Let’s come together to protect our communities, restore trust, and hold law enforcement accountable.

That’s why the Justice Department required body cameras, banned chokeholds, and restricted no-knock warrants for its officers.

That’s why the American Rescue Plan provided $350 Billion that cities, states, and counties can use to hire more police and invest in proven strategies like community violence interruption—trusted messengers breaking the cycle of violence and trauma and giving young people hope.

We should all agree: The answer is not to Defund the police. The answer is to FUND the police with the resources and training they need to protect our communities.

I ask Democrats and Republicans alike: Pass my budget and keep our neighborhoods safe.

And I will keep doing everything in my power to crack down on gun trafficking and ghost guns you can buy online and make at home—they have no serial numbers and can’t be traced.

And I ask Congress to pass proven measures to reduce gun violence. Pass universal background checks. Why should anyone on a terrorist list be able to purchase a weapon?

Ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.

Repeal the liability shield that makes gun manufacturers the only industry in America that can’t be sued.

These laws don’t infringe on the Second Amendment. They save lives.

The most fundamental right in America is the right to vote – and to have it counted. And it’s under assault.

In state after state, new laws have been passed, not only to suppress the vote, but to subvert entire elections.

We cannot let this happen.

Tonight. I call on the Senate to: Pass the Freedom to Vote Act. Pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. And while you’re at it, pass the Disclose Act so Americans can know who is funding our elections.

Tonight, I’d like to honor someone who has dedicated his life to serve this country: Justice Stephen Breyer—an Army veteran, Constitutional scholar, and retiring Justice of the United States Supreme Court. Justice Breyer, thank you for your service.

One of the most serious constitutional responsibilities a President has is nominating someone to serve on the United States Supreme Court.

And I did that 4 days ago, when I nominated Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. One of our nation’s top legal minds, who will continue Justice Breyer’s legacy of excellence.

A former top litigator in private practice. A former federal public defender. And from a family of public school educators and police officers. A consensus builder. Since she’s been nominated, she’s received a broad range of support—from the Fraternal Order of Police to former judges appointed by Democrats and Republicans.

And if we are to advance liberty and justice, we need to secure the Border and fix the immigration system.

We can do both. At our border, we’ve installed new technology like cutting-edge scanners to better detect drug smuggling.

We’ve set up joint patrols with Mexico and Guatemala to catch more human traffickers.

We’re putting in place dedicated immigration judges so families fleeing persecution and violence can have their cases heard faster.

We’re securing commitments and supporting partners in South and Central America to host more refugees and secure their own borders.

We can do all this while keeping lit the torch of liberty that has led generations of immigrants to this land—my forefathers and so many of yours.

Provide a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, those on temporary status, farm workers, and essential workers.

Revise our laws so businesses have the workers they need and families don’t wait decades to reunite.

It’s not only the right thing to do—it’s the economically smart thing to do.

That’s why immigration reform is supported by everyone from labor unions to religious leaders to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Let’s get it done once and for all.

Advancing liberty and justice also requires protecting the rights of women.

The constitutional right affirmed in Roe v. Wade—standing precedent for half a century—is under attack as never before.

If we want to go forward—not backward—we must protect access to health care. Preserve a woman’s right to choose. And let’s continue to advance maternal health care in America.

And for our LGBTQ+ Americans, let’s finally get the bipartisan Equality Act to my desk. The onslaught of state laws targeting transgender Americans and their families is wrong.

As I said last year, especially to our younger transgender Americans, I will always have your back as your President, so you can be yourself and reach your God-given potential.

While it often appears that we never agree, that isn’t true. I signed 80 bipartisan bills into law last year. From preventing government shutdowns to protecting Asian-Americans from still-too-common hate crimes to reforming military justice.

And soon, we’ll strengthen the Violence Against Women Act that I first wrote three decades ago. It is important for us to show the nation that we can come together and do big things.

So tonight I’m offering a Unity Agenda for the Nation. Four big things we can do together.

First, beat the opioid epidemic.

There is so much we can do. Increase funding for prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and recovery.

Get rid of outdated rules that stop doctors from prescribing treatments. And stop the flow of illicit drugs by working with state and local law enforcement to go after traffickers.

If you’re suffering from addiction, know you are not alone. I believe in recovery, and I celebrate the 23 million Americans in recovery.

Second, let’s take on mental health. Especially among our children, whose lives and education have been turned upside down.

The American Rescue Plan gave schools money to hire teachers and help students make up for lost learning.

I urge every parent to make sure your school does just that. And we can all play a part—sign up to be a tutor or a mentor.

Children were also struggling before the pandemic. Bullying, violence, trauma, and the harms of social media.

As Frances Haugen, who is here with us tonight, has shown, we must hold social media platforms accountable for the national experiment they’re conducting on our children for profit.

It’s time to strengthen privacy protections, ban targeted advertising to children, demand tech companies stop collecting personal data on our children.

And let’s get all Americans the mental health services they need. More people they can turn to for help, and full parity between physical and mental health care.

Third, support our veterans.

Veterans are the best of us.

I’ve always believed that we have a sacred obligation to equip all those we send to war and care for them and their families when they come home.

My administration is providing assistance with job training and housing, and now helping lower-income veterans get VA care debt-free.

Our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan faced many dangers.

One was stationed at bases and breathing in toxic smoke from “burn pits” that incinerated wastes of war—medical and hazard material, jet fuel, and more.

When they came home, many of the world’s fittest and best trained warriors were never the same.

Headaches. Numbness. Dizziness.

A cancer that would put them in a flag-draped coffin.

I know.

One of those soldiers was my son Major Beau Biden.

We don’t know for sure if a burn pit was the cause of his brain cancer, or the diseases of so many of our troops.

But I’m committed to finding out everything we can.

Committed to military families like Danielle Robinson from Ohio.

The widow of Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson.

He was born a soldier. Army National Guard. Combat medic in Kosovo and Iraq.

Stationed near Baghdad, just yards from burn pits the size of football fields.

Heath’s widow Danielle is here with us tonight. They loved going to Ohio State football games. He loved building Legos with their daughter.

But cancer from prolonged exposure to burn pits ravaged Heath’s lungs and body.

Danielle says Heath was a fighter to the very end.

He didn’t know how to stop fighting, and neither did she.

Through her pain she found purpose to demand we do better.

Tonight, Danielle—we are.

The VA is pioneering new ways of linking toxic exposures to diseases, already helping more veterans get benefits.

And tonight, I’m announcing we’re expanding eligibility to veterans suffering from nine respiratory cancers.

I’m also calling on Congress: pass a law to make sure veterans devastated by toxic exposures in Iraq and Afghanistan finally get the benefits and comprehensive health care they deserve.

And fourth, let’s end cancer as we know it.

This is personal to me and Jill, to Kamala, and to so many of you.

Cancer is the #2 cause of death in America–second only to heart disease.

Last month, I announced our plan to supercharge
the Cancer Moonshot that President Obama asked me to lead six years ago.

Our goal is to cut the cancer death rate by at least 50% over the next 25 years, turn more cancers from death sentences into treatable diseases.

More support for patients and families.

To get there, I call on Congress to fund ARPA-H, the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health.

It’s based on DARPA—the Defense Department project that led to the Internet, GPS, and so much more.

ARPA-H will have a singular purpose—to drive breakthroughs in cancer, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, and more.

A unity agenda for the nation.

We can do this.

My fellow Americans—tonight , we have gathered in a sacred space—the citadel of our democracy.

In this Capitol, generation after generation, Americans have debated great questions amid great strife, and have done great things.

We have fought for freedom, expanded liberty, defeated totalitarianism and terror.

And built the strongest, freest, and most prosperous nation the world has ever known.

Now is the hour.

Our moment of responsibility.

Our test of resolve and conscience, of history itself.

It is in this moment that our character is formed. Our purpose is found. Our future is forged.

Well I know this nation.

We will meet the test.

To protect freedom and liberty, to expand fairness and opportunity.

We will save democracy.

As hard as these times have been, I am more optimistic about America today than I have been my whole life.

Because I see the future that is within our grasp.

Because I know there is simply nothing beyond our capacity.

We are the only nation on Earth that has always turned every crisis we have faced into an opportunity.

The only nation that can be defined by a single word: possibilities.

So on this night, in our 245th year as a nation, I have come to report on the State of the Union.

And my report is this: the State of the Union is strong—because you, the American people, are strong.

We are stronger today than we were a year ago.

And we will be stronger a year from now than we are today.

Now is our moment to meet and overcome the challenges of our time.

And we will, as one people.

One America.

The United States of America.

May God bless you all. May God protect our troops.
