Christian Schools Going “Woke”? Veteran Teacher Blows Whistle

Many Catholic and Protestant schools and education program providers are lining up with Common Core, Social-Emotional Learning, and "woke" propaganda, warned veteran educator and elementary director emeritus at FreedomProject Academy, Mary Black, in this episode of Conversations That Matter with The New American magazine's Alex Newman. Black, who has been teaching for around five decades, says these problems are becoming ubiquitous, and that parents must guard their children. In some cases, private schools have become even worse than government schools. Even more alarming, even many Christian textbooks for Christian schools are promoting globalism, critical race theory (CRT), and dangerous manipulation of children. 🇺🇸 The New American:

Wyoming Library Director and Children’s Librarian shock community by defending obscene books for children – and threatening county officials with lawsuit.

After constant pressure from local MassResistance parents, County Commission had called a special meeting over the library book problem.

See the video below! Library staff uses absurd ALA talking points to bully and confuse officials.

January 31, 2023
The Campbell County Commission Chairman (top center) begins the special meeting "to come to a resolution" with library staff over the books in the children's and teen sections.

This is a rare occasion to hear library officials defend their toxic actions!

In Gillette, Wyoming, the outrage by MassResistance parents over the graphic sexual and homosexual books for youth in their county public library has continued to grow. But now the parents and their public officials realize that the library staff defends all its actions – and won’t back down an inch. The staff sees no problem with horribly obscene material in the hands of children and refuses to make any “judgments” about it.

For over a year, local Wyoming MassResistance parents and others have been pressuring the Campbell County Commission and the Library Board (which the Commission appoints) to force the library staff to remove the obscene sex books in the children’s and teen sections. Both boards were long dominated by hostile liberals, even in that “deep red” area, and progress was slow. But in 2022, the County Commission finally got a conservative majority, and in turn, they appointed a majority-conservative Library Board.

In October 2022 the new Library Board took the bold first step: cutting ties with the far-left American Library Association (ALA) and its Wyoming affiliate. As we’ve reported, the ALA trains library staff to collude with LGBT groups to suppress parents. The library staff was angry over losing this ALA “training” which they claim is necessary for “professional development.” But the Library Board was indicating that more changes were soon to come.

The County Commission calls a “reconciliation” meeting

On December 6, 2022, the Campbell County Commission called a special meeting of the Commission members, the Library Board members, the Library Director, and the library’s Children’s and Teen Director. The purpose of the meeting was to come to a resolution – and possible compromise – over the library books. The Commission Chairman truly wanted “to put this issue behind us.”

The public wasn't allowed to speak at this meeting, but they wanted to be there and see it - and make sure their officials knew they were watching!

But that’s not what happened. The library staffers refused to budge. They fought back with a barrage of the ALA’s aggressive and well-crafted talking points. And they defended the pornography in a most despicable manner. (See video below.)

The Library Director speaks

The meeting began with some introductory comments by the Chairman and some Library Board members. Then the Library Director, Terri Lesley, came up to speak and answer questions.

Terri Lesley, the Campbell County Library Director.

She went right to her ALA playbook of talking points:

  • She started by playing the victim. She accused a “group of people” (i.e., MassResistance parents) of “planning to come after the library … that’s how this thing started.”
  • She said that removing any books, or even moving books within the library, “is a First Amendment violation – and that means that we could get sued.” She told the Commission that this lawsuit will be very expensive and that the county’s insurance probably won’t cover it. “And it’s a lawsuit the county can’t win,” she said. [This is simply a fear tactic, and patently false. In fact, the ALA and ACLU lawyers almost never win these cases because they clearly aren’t First Amendment violations.] And she added that she will personally refuse to violate the First Amendment.
  • Another reason the books need to be there, she said, is that the library must “serve the entire community” [apparently including sexual deviants?] and that they’ve been “asked to provide books to meet everybody’s reading interest.”  [However, they refuse to include the book The Health Hazards of Homosexuality, which people in the community have asked the library to include.]
  • She stated, “Nobody has presented any hard evidence that library books have harmed people in this community.” [But in fact, there is overwhelming medical evidence that pornography and obscene material causes lifelong psychological damage to children and teenagers. That’s why child obscenity laws exist.] Nevertheless, she said that “social issues” are what cause problems for children, not obscene books.
  • Another reason that obscene children’s books should not be removed from the shelves: “If you don’t like the book, don’t check it out.”
  • She railed about losing the ALA’s “professional training.” and said that the staff is very upset about it and that the action has created a “hostile work environment.”

Finally, the County Commission Chairman asked her if she agreed with a pro-LGBT activist’s statement, “Drawings or artwork depicting penises and vaginas are informational and not thought-provoking or arousing to kids.” She answered that she agrees with that. She went on to explain that the sexually graphic novels in the library are useful because they help kids “grasp a concept.”

The Children’s and Teens' Librarian speaks

Next, Darcy Acord, the Children’s and Teens Librarian, came up to speak. Her statements were even more disturbing.

Darcy Acord, the Campbell County Children’s and Teens Librarian

She started by saying that when it comes to sexual issues, her job is to have a “variety of resources.”

When it comes to age level for books, she determines that by vocabulary, the difficulty level of reading, and the intended audience – not the content. She calls these “data points.” Also part of the data points is the “professional reviews” of the book. [Many of these books are “reviewed” by LGBT or Planned Parenthood groups, and have no credibility.]

She said the librarians do not look at whether a book is “appropriate” for a child or teenager. Just the opposite – she said they don’t believe in imposing any “values” when selecting children’s books.

The County Commission Chairman then asked her about a particular book in the teen section. He said that a large portion of that book included drawings and artwork of actual [homosexual] sex acts along with descriptions of a 14-year-old boy having a sexual experience with a 47-year-old man. He said, “That’s not informational. How can we agree that there’s an age group we don’t think it’s appropriate for?”

She answered that his question is about “opinion” and she needs to work with “data points.” She said she knows which book that is, and the reason it was in the library is that it passed the “objective parameters” that the library has for books for youth.

Another of the County Commissioners reminded her that obscenity doesn’t have absolute protection under the First Amendment. Since it’s the “obscene” books that get challenged in this library, how does the staff determine what’s “obscene” for books in the children’s and teen sections?

Her answer was bizarre. She said the term “obscene” isn’t objective. “We have to go back to objective data points.”  She reiterated that those data points include an intended audience, the age of the protagonist, professional reviews, etc. Thus, this book is about a 14-year-old – so it would go in the teen collection, she said. (You could see people’s jaws drop in the room.) She added that she refuses to give her personal definition of obscenity.

She didn’t stop there. She said, “It’s an individual’s or family’s right to read those books.” (In other words, child obscenity laws are a violation of children’s rights to read pornography.) She said that even though the books are available for children in the library, “nobody is forcing kids to read these books”.

Here’s the video clip of their statements before the County Commission. See it for yourself:

VIDEO: Library staffers defend graphic sexual children's books (12 min 46 sec)

The workshop ended with the Library Board Chairman saying that an entirely new collections policy (with completely different “data points”) is clearly needed to ensure that obscene books don’t enter the collection and that the library staff must remove books that do not comport with the new policy. This is clearly not what the library staff wants at all. It would also make it more difficult for any lawsuit. We’ll see what happens.

Final Reflections

This is basically how the flood of sickening sex books for children and teenagers gets into America’s libraries – and how public officials are intimidated into backing down.

Normal people don’t do this to children. Most folks don’t realize how innately perverted – and just plain evil – the people are who are running these libraries.

It’s disappointing that the Campbell County officials felt the need to “dialogue” and “negotiate” with the library staff over this. The Library Director and staff are employees of the county.

One point that’s rarely brought up is that these library staffers would be in prison if their states didn’t have a narrow exemption from their child obscenity laws for libraries and schools (which were written decades ago when people had common sense).

We have long asserted that bureaucratic “challenges” to obscene library books are not the proper approach. The books don’t bring themselves in. Bad people bring them in. Those people should be fired.

Rewarding Anti-Israel Radicalism at SFSU

SFSU Administration Reaffirms Support for Racism

JVP-NYC in conversation with Professor Rabab Abdulhadi

Professor Rabab Ibrahim Abdulhadi is Director and Senior Scholar, of Arab and Muslim Ethnicities and Diasporas Studies, at San Francisco State University. She is in conversation with JVP chapter leader Eliza Klein.

Unsurprisingly for an organization whose membership has been perennially hostile to Israel, the Middle East Studies Association (MESA) just awarded the 2022 Jere L. Bacharach Service Award to San Francisco State University (SFSU) Professor Rabab Abdulhadi.

Though it positions itself as an organization of scholars engaged in research and teaching about the Middle East, MESA has gradually devolved into a highly politicized group of radical academics who display a singular and obsessive focus on Israel, and who have weaponized the organization to attack, degrade, and slander the Jewish state, allegedly in the name of Palestinian self-determination, and the naming of Abdulhadi is a not unexpected result of this toxic ideology.

MESA’s members, who Middle East studies expert Martin Kramer once described as “tenured incompetents” for their defective scholarship, further confirmed their anti-Israel bias earlier this year when its members voted overwhelmingly to endorse an academic boycott against Israeli scholars, a resolution that called “for an academic boycott of Israeli institutions for their complicity in Israel’s violations of human rights and international law through their provision of direct assistance to the military and intelligence establishments.”

There is no surprise that an academic association like the MESA would call for a boycott against only one country—Israel—precisely because a large number of its ranks are evidently steeped in a worldview defined by post-colonial, anti-American, anti-Israel thinking, and dedicated to the elevation of identity politics and a cult of victimhood. That they profess to hold high-minded, well-intentioned motives, and speak with such rectitude, does not excuse the fact that their efforts are in the end a betrayal of what the study of history and the university have, and should, stand for—the free exchange of ideas, even ones bad, without political or ideological litmus tests.

And the naming of Professor Rabab Abdulhadi, director of the SFSU’s Arab and Muslim Ethnicities and Diasporas Studies (AMED) program, for MESA’s 2022 award reveals both the pathological animus against Israel harbored by the group and also its willingness to reward Abdulhadi for her execrable record of radical anti-Israel, anti-Semitic campus activism at San Francisco State University. She has demonstrated chronic pseudo-academic machinations, and, among other slurs, has referred to Zionists as white nationalists during a 2019 UCLA lecture, and was embroiled in controversy once for a virtual speaking appearance, originally planned to be held in 2020, by Leila Khaled, a terrorist in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, whose resume includes her role in the 1969 hijacking of an Israel-bound plane and her arrest the following year during a failed hijacking of an El Al flight.

Promotional materials for the roundtable discussion with Khaled, entitled “Whose Narrative? Gender, Justice, & Resistance,” (which included a photograph of Khaled proudly brandishing an AK-47, with which she no doubt intended to murder Jews), glowingly described her as a “Palestinian feminist, militant, and leader,” someone who Abdulhadi has described as a “Palestinian feminist icon,” an “icon in liberations movements and . . . an icon for women’s liberation.”

Not surprisingly, given Abdulhadi’s track record, criticism of the upcoming Khaled event forced SFSU’s president, Lynn Mahoney, to publish an op-ed in which—while she distanced herself from terrorism and disavowed any implied support for the toxic ideology behind the event—she defended AMED’s right to sponsor such speakers based on academic freedom and the purported desire to “hear divergent ideas, viewpoints, and accounts of life experiences.”

In response, 86 groups issued an open letter, organized by the AMCHA Initiative, an organization that tracks campus antisemitism, which questioned whether the Khaled event was an example of the presentation of diverse viewpoints at all, as opposed to one-sided, highly incendiary ideology with the specific and habitual purpose of libeling Zionism, Israel, and Jews.

“What if an invitation to speak to a class — in fact an entire event — is an endorsement of a point of view and a political cause?” the letter read. “And what if the intention of the faculty member who extended such an invitation and organized such an event was not to encourage students ‘to think critically and come to independent, personal conclusions about events of local and global importance,’ but rather to promote the faculty member’s own narrow political view and to weaponize students to be foot soldiers in the faculty member’s own political cause?”—exactly what Abdulhadi has been doing in her role as AMED’s director.

University officials regularly use the cover of academic freedom to insulate them from criticism for allowing repellent guest speakers and events to take place on campus, just as President Mahoney had done with the Khaled lecture. The belief that “divergent ideas, viewpoints and accounts of life experiences” are valuable in academia’s marketplace of ideas is, of course, a good one, something central to the mission and purpose of a university. The problem is that academic freedom is permitted selectively, depending on who is speaking and who the target of their activism is.

Militant, violent liberation to promote Palestinian self-determination and to simultaneously degrade Zionism and extirpate Israel may be an invigorating ideological mission for Abdulhadi, Khaled, and their fellow travelers, but their planned hate-fest, though disguised as an academic event, had as its purpose only to attack Zionism and Israel and the Jewish students who support them, and to further the belief that Israel’s existence is so repugnant and immoral that the appearance at a school event by a terrorist who wanted to kill Jews is morally acceptable.

Khaled and Abdulhadi had previously collaborated in this type of toxic academic activism. In 2014, for instance, Abdulhadi was criticized for using $7,000 of SFSU’s taxpayer funds to travel to the Middle East to conduct what she described as “research,” but was actually a “political solidarity tour,” to meet with Khaled and representatives of designated Islamist terror organizations. On that activism tour, Abdulhadi also set up a collaboration between SFSU and Al-Najah National University in the West Bank.

In fact, in announcing the award, MESA specifically pointed to this questionable Abdulhadi accomplishment, namely, her involvement in forging cooperation between her institution and a Palestinian counterpart. “As AMED Director,” the award language read, “she negotiated a Memorandum of Understanding between SFSU and An-Najah National University in Palestine,” a logical choice for someone who seeks a continued assault on and the eventual destruction of Israel.

Why is that a predictable choice for Abdulhadi? Because, as Matthew Levitt, director of the Washington Institute’s Stein Program on Terrorism, Intelligence, and Policy, has previously revealed, the 11,000-student An-Najah is the largest university in the territories, and “the terrorist recruitment, indoctrination, and radicalization of students for which An-Najah is known typically take place via various student groups,” among them the Hamas-affiliated Islamic Bloc. “Of the thirteen members of An-Najah’s 2004 student council, eight,” Levitt wrote—“including the chairperson—belong to Hamas’s Islamic Bloc.”

Terrorism and political activism against Israel are not only promoted within Palestinian university walls but also celebrated publicly. The radical students at An-Najah University, for example, fondly remembered the outbreak of the Second Intifada by constructing a macabre attraction called “The Sbarro Cafe Exhibition,” named for the location of a 2001 suicide bombing of a Jerusalem pizza parlor where 15 Jews were murdered and dozens more wounded. Created not as a memorial but as an inspiration for further terror-laden savagery, the diorama included scattered pizza slices amid Israeli body parts, splattered blood, calls to martyrdom with Koran and Kalashnikovs close by, and, beaming out of a loudspeaker behind a mannequin version of an Orthodox Jew, the inspiring take on an oft-repeated Islamic exhortation: “O believer, there is a Jewish man behind me. Come and kill him.”

The mock apartheid walls constructed by anti-Israel students on American campuses during the annual Israeli Apartheid Week look tame and civilized in comparison, and Abdulhadi’s role in linking an American university to one that promotes terrorism and the murder of Jews shows how potentially lethal her ideology is.

In 2018, outgoing SFSU President Leslie Wong apologized to Jewish students and faculty for his chronically disappointing record in addressing anti-Israel, anti-Semitic activism on his campus, and he publicly proclaimed that, contrary to his past statements, Zionists were, in fact, welcome on the SFSU campus.

That small step at “normalizing” Zionism was just too much for Abdulhadi, however, who harbors the poisonous view—shared by other Israel-haters and anti-Semites—that Zionism is a racist, political ideology; in fact, she audaciously “rejects the equation of Zionism with Judaism.” Wong’s apology, to her, was a capitulation to an ideology she wanted to be purged from campus. “I consider the statement . . . from President Wong, welcoming Zionists to campus, equating Jewishness with Zionism . . . to be a declaration of war against Arabs, Muslims, Palestinians and all those who are committed to an indivisible sense of justice on and off campus.” [Emphasis added.]

And just in case anyone would possibly draw the wrong conclusion from her hateful rhetoric, Abdulhadi clarified that “I am anti-Zionist. I’m not anti-Jew. So don’t call me anti-Semitic.”

In 2017 and 2018, separate lawsuits against SFSU on behalf of Jewish students claimed that the university “has not merely fostered and embraced anti-Jewish hostility — it has systematically supported these departments and student groups as they have doggedly organized their efforts to target, threaten, and intimidate Jewish students on campus and deprive them of their civil rights and their ability to feel safe and secure as they pursue their education.” It is obvious now that the hostile climate created on the SFSU campus is not only the result of student activism on the part of the General Union of Palestine Students, but also, perhaps more significantly, by the teaching, writing, and participation in anti-Israel events, conferences, and other programs and initiatives by SFSU faculty—and specifically Abdulhadi and her ideological reign of terror against Israel, Zionism, and Jews.

Is there any doubt that professors like Abdulhadi, individuals consumed with blatant hatred for Israel, contempt for those who call themselves Zionists, and a highly-biased, historically-inaccurate, and counterfactual narrative about the Middle East, take their ideology into classrooms? That they censure and contradict students who have to oppose pro-Israel views? Or that they are instrumental in influencing student activists and joining in their efforts to engage in BDS activities, demonize Israel and Zionism, and contribute to the hostile climate in which Jewish students, as the lawsuit read, are “often afraid to wear Stars of David or yarmulkes on campus, and regularly text their friends to describe potential safety issues?”

MESA’s tendentious academic mandarins continue to think of themselves as authentic scholars whose work furthers learning and knowledge in Middle East studies. But their actions—promoting academic boycotts solely against Israeli scholars and no other country’s academics—reveal their inherent bias and their inability to rise above their obsession with Israel to the detriment of any valuable scholarship that might be otherwise produced by MESA’s members.

And awarding a professor whose career has been similarly focused on degrading and slandering Israel, Zionism, and its Jewish supporters also reveals the absence of any moral clarity on MESA’s part. That MESA confirms its pathological hatred of the Jewish state by celebrating a professor who has waged a long-standing ideological war against Israel, lauded terrorists who sought to murder Jews, and demonized Zionism, Jews, and Israel itself as manifestations of white supremacy and racism—all of this exposes how intellectually debased and academically irrelevant MESA has become.

MassResistance forces leftist School Board to remove obscene material

Republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, & research purposes.

Texas MassResistance forces leftist School Board to remove obscene library book. And more on their way out!

School officials try to intimidate parents by putting 1-minute limitations on testimony, plus having students and teachers denounce “book bans.”

See the stunning video below! After the Texas MassResistance leader confronts Board, the book is gone within 48 hours.

January 19, 2023
Texas MassResistance leader Tracy Shannon points to Superintendent and says: "You should be fired because you approved this. It's on you."

One powerful activist can ignite the community and make a difference!

Humble, Texas is a suburb of Houston. The region is very conservative. But as in many “red” states, leftists campaign as conservatives and get elected to the School Board. The current chairman and others recently ran as a “conservative” slate and were endorsed by the local GOP and Tea Party (which sadly, are routinely clueless). Once elected, they proceeded to collude with the “woke” Superintendent to make lives miserable for pro-family parents who speak out.

Starting in August: Dozens of horrific sexual books were found in the school libraries

Our Texas MassResistance leader, Tracy Shannon, lives in the Humble school district. Starting last August 2022, Tracy began helping local parents deal with dozens of obscene sexual and other highly inappropriate books that they had found in their school district libraries.

Some of these books are beyond belief in their sexual depravity. But the position of the school officials was that the books were “educational” and the parents were ignorant extremists.

This is an example of what the School Board, Superintendent, and staff have termed "educational material" that "supports diversity."

Tracy began by going through the school’s arduous and bureaucratic “book challenge” process. She filed challenges for 35 books in all – about half during August and the other half in November. Tracy could easily see that the School Board had rigged the process against parents. In fact, between hearings and appeals and other “legalities,” the challenge process for these books could take over two years.

Even though none of the books were removed, a “banned books” hysteria broke out among school officials and leftists in the district.

The School Board cracks down on parents’ dissent

When parents began coming to testify about the books and complain, the Board took several outrageous steps to crack down on their dissent. We’ve seen nothing like this anywhere in the country!

The Humble District School Board and Superintendent.

Starting in August, the militant School Board chairman imposed an outrageous 1-minute limit on all public testimony (which is enforced by turning off the microphone). The deadline for signing up to testify is noon on the day of the meetings, so they know in advance who will be there. This has had the desired effect of keeping most people from bothering to show up. Often the “public testimony” portion of the School Board meetings lasts just over 5 minutes.

In addition, citizens are banned from taking photos or videos – not only during School Board meetings but anywhere on the property where the School Board meets. At one meeting, Tracy was recording herself in the hallway outside the School Board chambers, and the police threatened to arrest her. At another meeting, Tracy called a press conference on the grass outside the building, and the police came and forced her to leave. (Tracy has filed a legal complaint over this, which the school has appealed to the Attorney General!)

Thus, the only recordings that exist of School Board meetings are those that the administration produces itself, which it could edit before posting.

More intimidation of parents

Over the next few months, various school people spoke out at School Board meetings to intimidate parents over the obscene book controversy:

  • At one meeting, the Superintendent spoke (in rather insulting bureaucratese) about how these books are actually about “diversity” and that individual parents should work with the school if they had concerns about their individual children; but the books were staying! Parents were appalled. Tracy posted this video of Supt. Fagan’s comments, with the vulgar text of books, superimposed. (Caution!)
  • A former Humble school district teacher (who brags about being a member of a pro-LGBT church) addressed the meeting, comparing the parents to Nazi book-burners: “You don’t have to be a historian to know that the people banning the books are never the good guys.” See the video here.
  • Another former teacher came to thank the School Board for keeping the pornographic books in the library, because they help kids develop “quality reading skills,” and that “banning books is never the right answer.” Instead, she said, “Choice is the answer. Thank you for selecting books from quality selected authors from our students.” She looked right at Tracy while saying this.

Coaching kids to defend porn in their library

In late December, a Deputy Superintendent apparently made the decision to label one of the books that Tracy had challenged as “mature content.” This meant that it would require parental permission to be checked out. A wave of hysteria broke out over that one book being set aside! The “woke” school librarian placed the book on a special “banned books” shelf behind the librarian’s desk – to entice the kids.

One of the “woke” English teachers runs a far-left DEI (diversity-equity-inclusion) high school club called “Diversify Our Narrative.”  The club offers “anti-racist” lesson plans such as “The End of White Innocence” and links to lessons on gender identity and sexual orientation. Four girls from the club were coached to go to the next School Board meeting to stand up for their “intellectual rights” to read pornography.

At a fiery January School Board meeting – Tracy takes over!

On January 10, 2023, the School Board held its first meeting of the new year. The Board seemed ready to continue pushing back against parents.

When the public comments section began, the four high school students were called up to speak. They read from prepared scripts. They told the Board how “shocked” they were to see a shelf for banned books in the library, and how very important it was that no books be banned. They said that these are important books about “diversity” and “helping us understand ourselves” – that these books are especially needed because they help them “deal with their stress.”

The girls from the "Diversify our Narrative" club pose outside the School Board meeting before going in to testify and intimidate parents. This photo was posted on social media. Note that the Board's rule against taking photographs in the building doesn't apply to "approved" people.

Tracy spoke next. In her allotted minute she threw cold water on the girls’ arguments. She looked right at the Board, held up two of the books, and read from one of them, Fun Home. It was extremely graphic. She described the images of a boy ejaculating, females engaged in oral sex, and a chapter on “kink.”

Anyone hearing Tracy’s testimony would be sickened. But the School Board and Superintendent were totally unaffected. Just the opposite: Directly after the testimony, four of the Board members – including the Chairman, and Superintendent – gushed about how wonderful it was that the students took the time to come and speak. “Thank you for coming and thank you for expressing your concerns,” they said. “It’s always important to have you here and hear your voice … We want the students’ voice at the table.”

Here's the video clip of what happened [CAUTION: extremely filthy language]:

VIDEO: MassResistance throws cold water on "banned books" arguments at School Board meeting (7 min 13 sec)

The book Tracy read from gets officially “banned”!

Almost immediately after the January 10 meeting, social media began to burn up over Tracy’s testimony and the reaction by the School Board. Tracy sent out a document of quotes and sample pages from Fun Home. [Caution: graphic text and images.] Enormous outrage over that book from the conservative community hit the School Board members and school officials.

The day after the meeting, the school library's Internet system mysteriously was shut down. The following day it came back up, but Fun Home was nowhere to be found. The district also erased all the history of who had checked out the book, perhaps to avoid being sued.

On January 13, the district admitted that Fun Home had been removed from the library. The district blamed “Scholastic Publishing,” the vendor, who sent the book as part of a bundle. According to Tracy, the district sent Scholastic a “cease and desist letter.” (This should serve as a warning to parents not to trust Scholastic!)

None of these excuses has any credibility. The school staff is responsible for what it puts on its shelves. They could have just sent the book back. We’ve been assured that the librarians are experts and know how to select books and that we should not question them. In other words, they knew exactly what kind of a book it was.

Note that Fun Home did not need to go through the formal challenge process! It was an “informal” challenge process: The School Board just didn’t feel like taking more heat.

Tracy and her group are not finished! There are more books that will see community outrage!

Final thoughts

“Banned books” is a ploy promoted by the American Library Association (ALA) to push pornography and homosexuality. And gender confusion in children. They all admit this on their website.

It’s not surprising that leftist public officials lie about almost everything. They care much more about approval from their “woke” friends and allies than the welfare of children. The school staffers who bring these books (and defend them) should be fired - and probably sent to jail.

Tracy attempted to donate The Health Hazards of Homosexuality to the school district to offer a more honest discussion of LGBT issues. She was told the district only allows books that are reviewed by certain professional organizations, all of which are affiliated in some way with the ALA. That is called “gatekeeping.” Recall that the ALA also fought to prevent the Child Internet Protection Act from requiring libraries to put porn filters on computers used by children in public libraries.

Finally, Tracy reports that her group has already recruited two candidates to run in the Humble District School Board elections this May against incumbents.

CALIFORNIA Governor Newsom Claims State That Bans Cars and Speech Offers ‘Freedom For All’

The Inauguration Ceremony of Governor Newsom

A celebration of freedom, democracy, and diversity; WITH EXCEPTIONS :

Republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, & research purposes.

You can do anything in California except open a business, walk down the street, or buy a home.

Gov. Gavin Newsom, the democratic choice of the enlightened ballot harvesters of California, desperately wants to be president. Despite pledging not to run against Biden, he’s continuing to posture by announcing an “anti-Jan 6” march (whatever the hell that is) for his inauguration. The one-party governor of one of the most corrupt states in America then spent his speech ranting about Republicans in other states.

California’s unelected governor wants to reframe freedom to mean mandatory masks and car bans. Not to mention state censorship of online speech.

Freedom is slavery, slavery is freedom.

Gavin Newsom triumphantly marched toward California’s statehouse to deliver an inaugural speech that celebrated California’s freedoms and the state’s resistance to forces that “want to take the nation backward.”

“More than any people, in any place, California has bridged the historical expanse between freedom for some, and freedom for all,” he said under cloudy but dry skies for the first time in days.

“Freedom is our essence, our brand name – the abiding idea that right here anyone from anywhere can accomplish anything.”

Except for working freelance, driving a truck, buying a car, getting disposable utensils, buying a fur coat, installing a gas stove, or any of the tens of thousands of things that the Democrat one-party system has banned in some or all of the state.

You can do anything in California except open a business, walk down the street, gas up your car or buy a home. It’s the land of dreams, the hotel you check into and then escape through the back window.

California is so incredibly free that, like North Korea, Cuba and Venezuela, everyone is running away.

Gov. Newsom has the unique honor of presiding over a population loss every year in office.

“California’s population continues to dwindle. The state’s population declined by 114,000 people from about 39,143,000 in 2021 to 39,029,000 in 2020, new estimates by the U.S. Census Bureau show. It marks the third straight year that California has reported a loss.”

While Texas and Florida, the states he’s attacking, are gaining people, the only folks California is gaining are coming illegally over the border.

That and sex predators.

Unlike other states, Newsom said, California safeguards freedoms like “the freedom for teachers to teach, freedom from litmus tests about their political party or the person they love.”

California safeguards the right of teachers to “love” the kids of their choice. Republican teachers however get fired.

“They make it harder to vote and easier to buy illegal guns. They silence speech, fire teachers, kidnap migrants, subjugate women, attack the Special Olympics, and even demonize Mickey Mouse,” he said about conservative leaders like DeSantis. “All camouflaged under a hijacking of the word ‘freedom.’”

Whereas in California, Mickey Mouse can expose himself to children. Freedom!

In California, public school teachers, whose insane salaries are subsidized by property taxes no new residents can afford to pay unless they’re millionaires, can groom 9-year-olds. Freedom!

In California, vagrants and junkies have a right to camp in front of your home, but you have to wait 3 years to get a permit to have any work done. Freedom!

In California, a race riot is a civil right while trying to defend yourself against them is a crime. Freedom!

In California, shoplifting is legal, but opening a business isn’t. Freedom!

Wait, why is everyone fleeing the land of the fee and the home of the slave? Wait for the reparations. Stay for the car ban. Or the mandatory ethnic studies. And the race riots. And the tax hikes.

Big population drops in L.A., San Francisco transform state – Los Angeles Times

Why are you leaving the home of freedom? Why?

Do you have something against systemic racism, child abuse, mentally ill vagrants smoking crack, high taxes, and no legal rights whatsoever, you reactionary bigot? You’re taking the nation “backward”.

And California is going backward. Instead of, Go West, Young Man, it’s now Go East.

YOUR MONEY IS NOT SAFE! – Cashless BAIL-INS & What It Means For You!

Josh Sigurdson talks with Kirk Elliott Ph.D. about the most recent moves to destroy financial freedom as we see a massive global currency shift for the history books in 2023 and the creation of a cashless society.

As the Federal Reserve moves to launch its digital currency this year, we also see members of the FDIC openly calling for misleading the public about their lack of actual funds as well as pushing for bail-in regimes where they could essentially just empty your bank account to pay for their debts. This is an alarming development for most, but for many of us, it is simply a vindication of what we've been warning about for years.

Tie this in with a new world reserve currency system like BRICS and the energy crisis teamed with a supply chain crisis and inflation and it's the perfect monetary storm.

In this video, Kirk Elliott Ph.D. breaks down the dangers and the solutions to this epic problem and what people should know right now to save themselves from what's to come.

American Journal of Medicine: Belief in Freedom Can Hurt You

Republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, & research purposes.

One way to hoodwink the populace into accepting ever-increasing control by the omnibenevolent and all-seeing federal government is to convince them that freedom and autonomy are bad for you. But surely Leftists wouldn’t stoop that low, would they? Sure they would. PJM’s Ben Bartee had the story on Saturday: the American Journal of Medicine has published a preposterous new study warning that “distrust of the government” and “a belief in freedom” are liable to get you killed. Get back in line, sheep! Don’t put your lives on the line chasing after freedom! Slavery is so much safer!

This errant nonsense was actually published this month in the American Journal of Medicine, proving yet again that academic study in the United States has become irremediably politicized and open to cultural and intellectual fads. An honest investigation of a controverted issue, leading to the acknowledgment of unwelcome truths, is vanishingly rare. The pretext for pushing slavery on Americans is, once again, the COVID-19 vaccine. According to Fortune magazine, this study claims to prove that “if you passed on getting the COVID vaccine, you might be a lot more likely to get into a car crash.”

The study asserts that “unvaccinated people were 72% more likely to be involved in a severe traffic crash — in which at least one person was transported to the hospital — than those who were vaccinated. That’s similar to the increased risk of car crashes for people with sleep apnea, though only about half that of people who abuse alcohol.”

Does the vaccine somehow improve your eyesight and coordination, so that you can more easily get out of scrapes while driving? Oh, nothing like that. Unvaccinated people are more likely to wreck their cars because they’re the sort of people who don’t obey the rules. The study speculates that people who are so headstrong and stubborn as to resist getting a vaccine that is causing young people in perfect health suddenly to drop dead might also “neglect basic road safety guidelines.”

Now, who in his right mind would get behind the wheel and neglect basic safety guidelines? Incorrigible lovers of freedom, of course: “Why would they ignore the rules of the road? Distrust of the government, a belief in freedom, misconceptions of daily risks, ‘faith in natural protection,’ ‘antipathy toward regulation,’ poverty, misinformation, a lack of resources, and personal beliefs are potential reasons proposed by the authors.”

So actually the study is all about why you should be a good conformist and do whatever the government tells you to do, no matter what the obvious risks may be.

This ridiculous and superstitious propaganda is frankly fascist in its warning against “a belief in freedom,” and it’s all designed to sell a shoddy and dangerous product to the weak and gullible. Epoch Times recently released a video entitled “Over 5,000 Cases of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS): Doctors Trying to Determine Why Young People Suddenly Dying.” It features Dr. Michael Ackerman, “a Mayo Clinic genetic cardiologist and the president of the Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS) Foundation,” who explains “how COVID and the vaccine affect heart conditions in people under 35.”

Related: The FDA Wants You to Forget It Told ‘Y’all’ to Stop Taking Horse Dewormer

Epoch Times also reported on Dec. 8 that “A major new autopsy report has found that three people who died unexpectedly at home with no pre-existing disease shortly after COVID vaccination were likely killed by the vaccine. A further two deaths were found to be possibly due to the vaccine.” Meanwhile, in Germany, “newly released insurance data for 72 million people shows that unexpected deaths have been skyrocketing since the end of 2020. The number of sudden deaths has more than doubled since late 2020, jumping from about 6,000 per quarter to 14,000 currently.” And “officials in Australia are raising the alarm as the country’s excess deaths have soared to an ‘incredibly high’ rate.”

A genuine study has found that “based on passive surveillance reporting in the US, the risk of myocarditis after receiving mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines was increased across multiple age and sex strata and was highest after the second vaccination dose in adolescent males and young men.”

Why do the researchers and academics who wrote the unvaccinated/car crash study, and the American Journal of Medicine that published it, want people to take this dangerous drug? That remains a mystery, although there is likely a profit motive involved along the way. In any case, this study illustrates yet again that some people will believe anything. P. T. Barnum famously said, “There’s a sucker born every minute.” Even old Barnum likely never expected that the august American Journal of Medicine would take his words to heart.

Taliban Forbids University Education for Afghan Girls, U.S. Slams Decision

Taliban Forbids University Education for Afghan Girls, U.S. Slams Decision

Republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, & research purposes.

SINGAPORE — Afghanistan’s Taliban rulers have forbidden university education for women throughout the country, eliciting criticism from the United States and the UN.

Despite international protests and pledging a more lenient rule when they took control of the country in 2021, the Taliban has increased the number of restrictions on all facets of women’s lives.

“You all are informed to immediately implement the mentioned order of suspending the education of females until further notice,” Minister for Higher Education Neda Mohammad Nadeem said in a letter sent to all government and private universities.

The ministry’s spokesman, Ziaullah Hashimi, who published the letter on Twitter, confirmed the order in a text message to Agence France-Presse (AFP).

Washington slammed the decision “in the strongest terms.”

“The Taliban cannot expect to be a legitimate member of the international community until they respect the rights of all in Afghanistan. This decision will come with consequences for the Taliban,” said Secretary of State Antony Blinken. “No country can thrive when half of its population is held back.”

UN Secretary-General António Guterres was “deeply alarmed” by the ban, his spokesman said on Tuesday. “The secretary-general reiterates that the denial of education not only violates the equal rights of women and girls but will have a devastating impact on the country’s future,” said Stephane Dujarric.

The prohibition on higher education comes less than three months after thousands of women took university entrance examinations nationwide, with many hoping to select teaching and medicine as future careers when the universities reopen in March, following the winter break.

After the seizure of the country by the Taliban, universities were required to enforce new rules such as gender-segregated classrooms and entrances. Only female professors or old men could teach female students.

Journalism student Madina, who wanted only her first name published, tried to grapple with the ramifications of Tuesday’s national order.

“I have nothing to say. Not only me but all my friends have no words to express our feelings,” the 18-year-old told AFP in Kabul. “Everyone is thinking about the unknown future ahead of them. They buried our dreams.”

The country was reverting to “dark days,” added medicine student “Rhea” in the capital, who asked that her real name not be divulged. “When we were hoping to make progress, they are removing us from society,” the 26-year-old said.

The Taliban adheres to a strict version of Islam, with the movement’s supreme leader Hibatullah Akhundzada and his inner circle of Afghan clerics being against modern education, especially for girls and women.

However, many officials in Kabul and among the rank and file oppose the latest move by the Taliban, as the former hoped girls would be permitted to continue learning following the takeover. “There are serious differences in the Taliban ranks on girls’ education, and the latest decision will increase these differences,” a Taliban commander based in northwest Pakistan told AFP on condition of anonymity.

In March, the Taliban stopped girls from returning to secondary schools, drastically restricting university intake.

While some Taliban officials claim the secondary education ban is only temporary, they have provided many excuses to prolong the prohibition — from a scarcity of funds to the duration needed to align the syllabus to Islamic lines.

Since the ban, many teenage girls have been married off early — often to much older men of their father’s choosing. Several families interviewed by AFP in November said that coupled with economic pressure, the school ban meant that guaranteeing their daughters’ future through marriage was better than them sitting idly at home.

Women have also been forced out of many government jobs or are being paid a reduced salary to stay at home. They are also banned from traveling without a male relative; must cover up outside the home, ideally with a burqa; and in November were banned from going to parks, funfairs, gyms, and public baths.

In response, the international community has made the right to education for all women a topic of discussion over aid and acknowledgement of the Taliban regime.

“The international community has not and will not forget Afghan women and girls,” the UN Security Council said in September.

However, Pakistan, Afghanistan’s neighbor, said on Tuesday that engagement with the Taliban was still the best path forward. “I’m disappointed by the decision that was taken today,” Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on a visit to Washington. However, he continued, “I still think the easiest path to our goal — despite having a lot of setbacks when it comes to women’s education and other things — is through Kabul and through the interim government.”

In the two decades between the Taliban’s reigns, girls were permitted to go to school and women were able to seek jobs in all sectors, though the country remained socially conservative.

In Kabul, where the country’s largest universities are located, female students convened outside campuses, wearing the black cloaks and tight headscarves imposed by the Taliban.

Elsewhere, students sought consolation from friends and family as they came to terms with news of the university ban. “We all felt like caged birds, we hugged each other, screamed, and cried ‘why is this happening to us?'” said Amini, a 23-year-old nursing student in Kunduz.

She was with her three sisters — two already banned from secondary school and another studying for a degree — when social media erupted with the news of the late-night order.

Facilities across the country were already shut for the winter break, but students had been able to go to campuses for examinations or to study in libraries. In Kandahar, the cradle and spiritual heart of the Taliban movement, male students were able to sit for examinations in classrooms still separated by screens, which until the day before made it possible for women to study.

After the order, however, the university gates shut female students out.

“My sister is studying computer science…. I didn’t inform her last night. I know she would be traumatized,” said a young male law student in Kabul, who asked not to be named for fear of the Taliban. “It really expresses (the Taliban’s) illiteracy and poor knowledge of Islam and human rights. If the situation continues like this, the future will be worse. Everyone is scared.”

“We have no power to do anything and there is no one to listen to us,” said one 29-year-old female, who is pursuing a master’s in Pashto literature in Kabul.

“We can’t protest, we are hopeless. In every aspect of life we are doomed,” she continued. “We don’t have jobs, we can’t go anywhere, and we can’t leave the country. We have lost everything.”

Although devastated, she still has a glimmer of hope that the Taliban — whose restrictions on women are escalating — will scale back on their decision after the winter break. “We will wait for the next three months to see if they change their order. They might change their policies and restart the universities.”

In the eastern city of Jalalabad, some male students walked out of their examinations to oppose the decision. The female student encouraged men to stop attending classes altogether in protest if the Taliban does not relent. “They too must stay at home until the girls are allowed to go back,” she pleaded.

Notably, the authorities have reverted to public floggings and executions of men and women in recent weeks as they enforce a strict interpretation of Islamic sharia law.

The posters were reportedly part of an assignment to create a "safe space" for all students to "feel good and accepted," but commenters did not view the posters in a positive light.

Military official bullied me over sex education: Concerned mom

New Jersey mother Angela Reading shares with Tucker Carlson how an Army officer allegedly bullied her on Facebook for voicing concern over her child's elementary school teaching pansexuality.

Reading revealed to Carlson Wednesday how after publishing her post, she came under fire from Schilling, who took to his own Facebook to claim there were 'security concerns' with Reading¿s post, hence why he called police

Reading revealed to Carlson Wednesday how after publishing her post, she came under fire from Schilling, who took to his own Facebook to claim there were 'security concerns' with Reading¿s post, hence why he called police

The U.S. military and police responded after a concerned New Jersey mother and school board member spoke out against bizarre posters targeting elementary children with hypersexual propaganda promoting homosexuality, transgenderism, and even the wonders of being “agender,” “pansexual,” and “polysexual.” Critics are now calling for all the officials involved to resign.

The local mother, Angela Reading, became “livid” and posted her concerns about these “perverse” posters on Facebook, along with photographs of the school propaganda for other parents to see. “It should be illegal to expose my kids to sexual content,” said Reading, noting that she saw the images as she was taking her seven-year-old daughter to “math night” at the elementary school.

“Also, how can my young children be accepting of people who are ‘sexually attracted to multiple genders’? They don’t know what sex is,” she continued. “Are adults talking about their sexual life with my kids and looking for affirmation? Are there elementary students engaged in polyamorous or multi-gender sexual activity who need my kids to know about it and cheer them on?”

“I am very confused and very angry,” added Reading, who said she welcomed debate but was appalled when her daughter asked what “polysexual” meant. Her children have now been pulled from the school with no plans to return, according to news reports. But the nightmare is not over yet.

Instead of apologizing to parents and firing all the groomers sexualizing school children under 10 years old, the government went even wilder. In fact, in what may be an unprecedented move even more outrageous than terrorizing concerned parents with the FBI’s “terrorism” forces, the Biden administration’s increasingly radicalized military went after Reading.

“The current situation involving Mrs. Reading’s actions has caused safety concerns for many families,” claimed Lt. Col. Christopher Schilling in a statement posted on social media. “The Joint Base leadership takes this situation very seriously and from the beginning have had the Security Forces working with multiple state and local law enforcement agencies to monitor the situation to ensure the continued safety of the entire community.”

The disgraced military officer, who called Reading an “extremist,” continued to haunt social media services attacking people who expressed support for Reading. However, he did not specify what may have caused supposed “safety concerns” for any families. Nor did he say under what supposed authority the military was getting involved in local educational issues.

Police chief Robert Duff of North Hanover, meanwhile, contacted the Facebook group and asked for Reading’s post to be removed. Citing concerns about “Homeland Security coming after me,” Reading agreed to allow the harmless post expressing her opinion to be removed from social media.

Thousands of parents have signed a petition supporting Reading and the rights of all other parents not to have their children sexualized — and to be able to speak out against grooming and perversion being imposed on children in tax-funded “educational” institutions. Many called for Schilling and all others involved to resign.

The national scandal, which was first reported on the Chaos and Control substack under the headline Woke NJ Military Goes After Local Mom, resulted in widespread outrage throughout New Jersey and beyond. Reading even went on Fox News’s Tucker Carlson show, the largest cable TV show in America, to expose the terrifying absurdity of it all.

Having the U.S. military get involved in this case represents a dramatic escalation in the Biden administration’s escalating War on Parents and Families. Anybody who participated in infringing on Readings rights under color of law must be removed from their offices and prosecuted under federal statutes dealing with precisely this sort of abuse.

Lighthouse Trails Research: Letter to the Editor-Our Son Might Go to Grace College in Winoka Lake, Indiana -Why Is LT Warning About It?

To Lighthouse Trails Editors:

Are you able to tell me the evidence that you gained by putting Grace College and Theological Seminary on your page of colleges you warn about? Our son is considering this college, and this was disappointing to see.

Dear C.,

The school is on our list because they have incorporated Spiritual Formation into their school and the lives of their students. From 20 years of research, we have learned that if a school has a Spiritual Formation program (or Spiritual Formation courses), it always comes along with a spirituality that is unbiblical and rooted in the mystics. We will give you a few links to Grace where you can see some of this:

In Grace’s Biblical Studies course BBL3090 – Spiritual Formation (an undergraduate class), they are using books by three contemplative authors as textbooks: Larry CrabbDallas WillardPete Scazzero (all three of these can be found on our research site with documentation). This alone shows what the school’s definition of Spiritual Formation is. Willard and Scazzero are heavy hitters in the contemplative prayer movement.

In the Bible course 3220 – Principles and Practice of Prayer at Grace, emergent author Ann Voskamp’s book is being used (see our article This course is also using a book by C.J. Mahaney, a Calvinist/Reformed author and pastor. It’s very common to find both Calvinism and Contemplative at the same school. The same course is also using a textbook by Nancy DeMoss. You can read our article here showing our concerns.) The course also has as a textbook a book called Prayer by Hallesby with a foreword by contemplative pioneer Richard Foster.

If we look at just these two courses at Grace, it is plain to see that the school is incorporating into their students’ “education” contemplative spirituality, and remember, the fruit of contemplative is miles away from biblical Christianity (as we have documented extensively).

To give other examples: In the undergraduate course PHI3000 C, one of the textbooks is written by Peter Kreeft. Kreeft is a strong promoter of the Catholic Church ( As we show in other articles, Kreeft is also an advocate for contemplative prayer. His teachings don’t belong in any evangelical Christian college.

In Grace’s BIB2140, textbooks are by emergent/ Catholic-leaning Francis Chan and emergent Calvinist J.D. Greear. (In one LT article/booklet, we refer to Greear because of his advocacy for Critical Race Theory.)

Clearly, this school doesn’t have discernment and are throwing a hodge-podge of false teachings at their students. A parent will be lucky if he or she recognizes his or her child’s faith in one or two semesters. We can guarantee that if a brief perusal through the school’s classes shows this much, it’s integrated throughout the school (e.g., chapel, church, missions, etc.).

We are sorry we are the bearers of bad news.

Lighthouse Trails Research Letter to the Editor Reveals Salvation Army Pushing Yoga, Meditation, and Mystic Henri Nouwen

Dear Lighthouse Trails:

I am enclosing some magazine articles put out by the Salvation Army during the summer of 2022. One of them is from Peer magazine that is for teenagers and college-age kids. The article from that magazine is about [the Catholic contemplative mystic] Henri Nouwen. Theother article, “Meditation in Movement,” is from SAconnectsand is an article about so-called “Christian Yoga.”

Thank you for your blog and many resources. I have read a number of your books and articles. God bless you all.

Photo above rom the Salvation Army magazine article on Yoga; used in accordance with the U.S. Fair Use Act for the purpose of critique and dissemination of information for the educational and review purposes.

photo on left: Front page of article in SAconnects – Vol 8, #2, 2022

L.T. Comments: In the SAconnects article on Yoga, it states:

YogaFaith combines traditional yoga exercises with prayer and worship, allowing for a new way to connect with Christ.

In March of 2020,Erin Morgan was in Atlanta, Ga., to complete 100 hours of face–to–face training needed to become a certified yoga instructor. She had already finished the required 100 hours of online training. Now, she looked forward to bringing YogaFaith, a yoga practice that exclusively incorporates Bible scripture meditation, to The Salvation Army.

We realize some reading this post may be thinking, “What’s wrong with that?” After all, it’s Christian Yoga, not Hindu Yoga. For those who feel that way, we ask you to please do your homework on this issue. You can start by reading Ray Yungen’s report, “YOGA: Exercise or Religion—Does it Matter?” and Chris Lawson’s report, “YOGA and Christianity – Are They Compatible?” In these reports is ample documentation to show that all Yoga (whether it’s called Christian or not) is rooted in Hinduism and the New Age. We actually corresponded once with a Hindu professor who refuted (in both a magazine article and an e-mail to us) the whole notion of “Christian Yoga.” He stated:

The simple, immutable fact is that yoga originated from the Vedic or Hindu culture. Its techniques were not adopted by Hinduism, but originated from it. . . . Efforts to separate yoga from its spiritual center reveal ignorance of the goal of yoga. . . . If this attempt to co-opt yoga into their (Christians) own tradition continues, in several decades of incessantly spinning the untruth as truth through re-labelings such as “Christian yoga,” who will know that yoga is–or was–part of Hindu culture? (source)

In another article, we quoted a Hindu Yogi, a Vedavisharada trained in the traditional gurukural system, who said there is no such thing as Christian Yoga.

To think that one can do the Yoga exercises without any repercussions is not only faulty reasoning – it is dangerous reasoning. Yoga exercises (i.e., the positions) were developed to receive the Kundalini power (which is actually demonic power). Please read Yungen’s and Lawson’s reports.

Regarding the article in the Salvation Army’s publication Peer (for teens and college students) that promotes Henri Nouwen, it is equally troubling. As Lighthouse Trails has documented for over twenty years, Nouwen was an interspiritual (i.e., believing that all paths lead to God) mystic who was very influenced by Buddhist and New Age beliefs. For example, in his book, The Way of the Heart, Nouwen said, “The quiet repetition of a single word can help us to descend with the mind into the heart . . . This way of simple prayer . . . opens us to God’s active presence.” This “repetition of a single word” is an Eastern-style meditation practice that does not lead to “God’s active presence” but is an occultic activity. Nouwen also said (in the last book he wrote – Sabbatical Journey): “Today I personally believe that while Jesus came to open the door to God’s house, all human beings can walk through that door, whether they know about Jesus or not. Today I see it as my call to help every person claim his or her own way to God” (p. 51).

Tragically, because the majority of Christian leaders and pastors have refused to address the issue of contemplative spirituality (which, in essence, is New Age spirituality), organizations like the Salvation Army have opened their doors to demonic activity without any resistance or challenge by the church at large. What a disservice Christian leaders and pastors have done to the church!

Given that the “fruit” of contemplative spirituality/meditation and Yoga is panentheism and interspirituality (the very antithesis of biblical Christianity and the Gospel message of Jesus Christ), the future for Salvation Army as a truly Christian organization looks bleak.

No one can deny that the Salvation Army has done some very humanitarian works for needy people for many years. But as the late Harry Ironside stated,

Truth mixed with error is equivalent to all error, except that it is more innocent looking and, therefore, more dangerous. God hates such a mixture! Any error, or any truth-and-error mixture, calls for definite exposure and repudiation. To condone such is to be unfaithful to God and His Word and treacherous to imperiled souls for whom Christ died. (From his article “Should Christians Expose Error?”)

How ironic that Salvation Army is part of “the holiness movement,” yet right under their very noses, they are participating in a very unholy practice.

Top 10 Ways America Is Being Groomed to Normalize Pedophilia
LTRP Note: For nearly the full existence of Lighthouse Trails (20+ years), we have covered the topic of child sexual abuse and child endangerment. We have published a number of books, articles, and booklets by various authors to help bring awareness to and equip parents, grandparents, and guardians. The following article shows the continued danger that children in this country are facing.

By Linda Harvey

Respectable pedophilia. Are you ready for this?

I’m not and I will be screaming against it until the last breath. But it’s coming unless a massive parent brigade shows up in both schools and in another venue that must be deployed to overcome this depravity: churches.

The truth of God, proclaimed by His saints and confirmed in the power, blood and resurrection of Jesus Christ, fueled by the conviction of the Holy Spirit can prevail over the tragedy of child corruption. We can do this.

But first we must face how we are all being groomed, as child sexuality is being packaged and sold to America, even as the latest fashion trend (e.g., Balenciaga).

We must refuse to be enablers and then take steps to end this diabolical trend.

Here are the top 10 ways that child sexualization is being normalized in America.

1. Child empowerment and consent.  How long before we allow children to make their own decisions about health care, counseling, and then the choice of a sexual partner? Over thirty years ago, a child’s right to “freedom of association” showed up in a revised United Nations document, “The Convention on the Rights of the Child.” That document has not been ratified by all countries, including the United States. But it remains a cherished goal of global leftists. Click here to continue reading.

Letters to the Editor: Author of The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry, John Mark Comer, Bringing “Renewed” Contemplative Spirituality Into the Churches
LTRP Note: Please see editors notes below this letter.

Dear Lighthouse Trails:

Today my neighbor who’s in an emergent church . . . told me his church started a sermon series called “The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry.” Hmm . . . I’ve left enough emergent churches to know a sermon series probably has a book. So, I did a search and found this disturbing link of trailers by this guy. . . .

This book (The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry), written by John Mark Comer, teaches readers to do breath prayers, mindfulness meditation, and various other contemplative-type exercises.

So, I just wanted to bring this to your attention as I see out there on vimeo and YouTube that Comer’s contemplative message is circulating in the churches.

This is such a burden as I left the Catholic Church many years ago.  I don’t even know what else to say about this. Do you think I should calmly approach the pastor in the neighborhood? Do I just pretend to not know any of this to get along?

LT Editors’ Notes:

The Letter to the Editor above was sent to us this past May, but we had not posted it yet. Yesterday, we received the following from another reader:

. . . I was wondering if you have done any research on John Mark Comer. He is the founding pastor of Bridgetown church in Portland, OR. He seems to have a big influence on pastors of other churches. He has written and promoted something called “Practicing the Way.” I’m not sure what that all is about but am concerned this may not be in line with Scripture. He has also written several books. Some of the teachings he has on YouTube are also a concern.—Debbie

In between receiving these two letters from the two LT readers, one of our authors began doing research on John Mark Comer and Tyler Staton (Staton, “lead pastor” at Bridgetown Church in Portland, is author of a new book titled Praying Like Monks, Living Like Fools). Comer and Staton have worked together on various projects and interviews (such as this one on YouTube), and Comer’s endorsement of Staton’s book is inside the front cover. Both Praying Like Monks and The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry are heavily contemplative books.

The contemplative prayer movement (via Spiritual Formation) largely entered the church in 1978 when Richard Foster’s book, Celebration of Discipline was released (Foster was a self-proclaimed type protege of Catholic mystic Thomas Merton). The CP movement simmered for a couple decades but was heating up as figures like Rick Warren began promoting it (even as far back as the 1990s). But still, most Christians had not heard of it (even though their pastors were reading Celebration of Discipline unbeknownst to their congregations; and as we documented in our special reporEpidemic of Apostasy, many pastors had been introduced to contemplative spirituality in their Christian universities and seminaries).

Today, long after Thomas Merton, Henri Nouwen, and Brennan Manning (three pioneering Catholic contemplative mystics) are gone, a new generation of young “hip” pastors and leaders are rising up with a renewed energy to spread the contemplative message. Catholic mystic, Richard Rohr (who Ray Yungen said was today’s Thomas Merton) has provided the fodder and guidance for many of these new contemplatives. That’s easily proveable: One of Richard Rohr’s publishers told him that his biggest readership was young evangelical men [1] (e.g., today’s young pastors, two of which are Comer and Staton).

In his book, A Time of Departing, Ray Yungen explained, dissected, and exposed the contemplative issue in a way that is easy to understand and is incredibly well documented with source material (making his proclamations and warnings irrefutable—you know what we mean if you have read the book). If there is anyone reading this post who has not yet read A Time of Departing, we beseech you to read it. If you do not have a copy and are struggling to get one, we will send anyone who asks us a free copy of the book. Write to us at and give us your name and mailing address (we will keep those confidential). You see, it’s not about the money for Lighthouse Trails. It never has been. If you haven’t read our story of how we began this ministry, you can read it here. It began because of the contemplative prayer movement, and we have been compelled all these years to continue with this warning even though many pastors and church figures have belittled, mocked, and rejected our findings. If you read our story, we think you will begin to understand the urgency and continuation of our warnings.

What’s at stake here? The future of your churches and the faith of your children and grandchildren.

In A Time of Departing, Yungen exhorts us:

Contemplative advocates propose that there has been something vital and important missing from the church for centuries. The insinuation is that Christians have been lacking something necessary for their spiritual vitality; but that would mean the Holy Spirit has not been fully effective for hundreds of years and only now the secret key has been found that unlocks God’s full power to know Him. These proponents believe that Christianity has been seriously crippled without this extra ingredient. This kind of thinking leads one to believe that traditional, biblical Christianity is merely a philosophy without the contemplative prayer element. Contemplatives are making a distinction between studying and meditating on the Word of God versus experiencing Him, suggesting that we cannot hear Him or really know Him simply by studying His Word or even through normal prayer—we must be contemplative to accomplish this. But the Bible makes it clear that the Word of God is living and active, and has always been that way, and it is in filling our minds with it that we come to love Him, not through a mystical practice of stopping the flow of thought (the stillness) that is never once mentioned in the Bible, except in warnings against vain repetitions. . . .

Evangelical Christianity is being invited, perhaps even catapulted into seeing God with the “new eyes” of contemplative prayer. The question must be asked, is Thomas Merton’s silence, Henri Nouwen’s space, and Richard Foster’s contemplative prayer [which is rooted in panentheism and interspirituality] the way in which we can know and be close to God? Or is this actually a spiritual belief system contrary to the true message that the Bible so absolutely defines—that there is only one way to God and that is through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, whose sacrifice on the Cross obtained our full salvation?

If indeed my concerns for the future actually come to fruition, then we will truly enter a time of departing. My prayer is that you will not turn away from the faith to follow a different gospel and a different Jesus but will rather stay the course and finish the race, so that after having done all you can, you will stand.

“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” (Ephesians 6:13)

When we consider the serious ramifications of the contemplative prayer movement and then also recognize that three of the major influences in the lives of millions of Christians—The Shack, Jesus Calling, and The Chosen—all have ties to the contemplative prayer movement, it is not difficult to conclude that millions of Christians are not wearing the “armour of God” and may, therefore, not “be able to withstand in the evil day.”

THINK ABOUT TAKING ANOTHER FLIGHT! Air marshals warn that Biden’s handlers are ‘demolishing our chances to stop another 9/11’

Sonya Labosco of the Air Marshal National Council urges the Biden White House to fall back on a policy that sends air marshals to the U.S. southern border this holiday season.

Dan Ball: Rep. Brian Babin, Air Marshals Moved To Border To Manage Crisis, 12/1/22

Are Biden’s handlers criminally incompetent, or do they actually want to bring disaster and ruin upon the United States?

“Air marshals sound an alarm about being sent to border: ‘Demolishing our chances to stop another 9/11,'” by Elizabeth Heckman, Fox News, November 28, 2022:

The executive director of the Air Marshal National Council delivered a clear message to the Biden administration Monday, warning that air travel is becoming less safe as marshals are diverted to the border.

Sonia Labosco joined “Fox & Friends First” to call on the Biden administration to stop sending air marshals to the southern border and return them to their duties patrolling commercial flights.

“We have been decimated. We have been depleted. We’re on less than 1% of flights. These ground-based duties that they’re pulling us out of the sky to go to the border are just demolishing our chances at stopping another 9/11.”

Labosco said Americans will suffer because many believe they’re safe in the presence of a trained air marshal, but “they’re just simply not.”

Labosco said marshals feel “torn” about being at the southern border while not doing the job they were trained to do.

“They have a humanitarian heart. We empathize with what’s happening at the border as human beings. However, it does not take away the responsibility or the oath that we have as air marshals to protect our aviation domain.”

Labosco said she has not heard back from the Biden administration after voicing concerns over recent safety risks on flights.

“We actually wrote him another letter over the weekend because we had a level four and a level three incident. Level four means that they tried to breach the cockpit. Level three, we had two of those, which means there were life-threatening behaviors on one of those aircraft. An individual had a straight razor to a passenger’s throat. So these are very serious incidents.”

The Air Marshal National Council is “calling on the president and DHS Secretary Mayorkas, to please stop this deployment of air marshals from the aircraft and reallocating them to the border,” said Labosco….

Florida Pulls $2 Billion in Investments From BlackRock Over ESG “Social Engineering Project”

Florida Pulls $2 Billion in Investments From BlackRock Over ESG “Social Engineering Project”

Republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, & research purposes.

The globalist movement to insist that corporations do business according to how well they align with left-wing ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) scores received some pushback from another American state on Thursday. Florida’s CFO announced that the state was pulling $2 billion in investments from the behemoth investment management company BlackRock, largely over its commitment to valuing ESG scores in its business dealings.

Recall that several states, including West Virginia, Texas, and Idaho, have already pushed back against banks and corporations such as BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, U.S. Bancorp, and Wells Fargo for using ESG scores to determine, among other things, the creditworthiness of states.

Now, Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis has announced that the Sunshine State is backing away from ESG promoter BlackRock, promising a $2 billion dollar divestment from the globalist company.

“Using Florida’s cash to fund BlackRock’s social-engineering project isn’t something we signed up for. It’s got nothing to do with maximizing returns and is the opposite of what an asset manager is paid to do. We’re divesting from BlackRock,” Patronis tweeted.

Patronis further laid out his case in a statement:

BlackRock CEO Larry Fink is on a campaign to change the world. In an open letter to CEOs, he’s championed ‘stakeholder capitalism’ and believes that ‘capitalism has the power to shape society.’ To meet this end, the asset management company has leaned heavily into Environmental, Social, and Governance standards — known as ESG — to help police who should, and who should not gain access to capital.

Indeed, Fink’s open letter could have been written by Klaus Schwab himself:

In today’s globally interconnected world, a company must create value for and be valued by its full range of stakeholders in order to deliver long-term value for its shareholders…. The pandemic has turbocharged an evolution in the operating environment for virtually every company.

But Patronis has the same questions a lot of people have about what Schwab and Fink refer to as “stakeholder capitalism.”

“Whether stakeholder capitalism, or ESG standards, are being pushed by BlackRock for ideological reasons, or to develop social credit ratings, the effect is to avoid dealing with the messiness of democracy,” the Florida CFO pointed out. “I think it’s undemocratic of major asset managers to use their power to influence societal outcomes. If Larry, or his friends on Wall Street, want to change the world — run for office. Start a non-profit. Donate to the causes you care about.”

A statement from BlackRock accused Patronis of valuing politics over the performance of funds: “We are disturbed by the emerging trend of political initiatives like this that sacrifice access to high-quality investments and thereby jeopardize returns, which will ultimately hurt Florida’s citizens. Fiduciaries should always value performance over politics.”

But isn’t that exactly what ESG is doing? Valuing ideology over performance? Using a corporation’s or a government’s commitment to left-wing values such as climate-change action, abortion availability, and transgender rights as a means to determine something that should be as black and white as creditworthiness would certainly make it seem so.

And it’s not some future “what if” scenario — it’s already happening.

“The ESG rating methodology that S&P has implemented to ‘provide additional disclosure and transparency’ when evaluating creditworthiness appears to be nothing more than a subjective way to penalize Idaho and other states for their political priorities,” said Idaho Treasurer Julie Ellsworth in May.

If financial companies are already using ESG scores to determine the creditworthiness of states and corporations, how long will it be until individual consumers are asked to take a “loyalty oath” to purchase a new car?

Ask the nation of Sri Lanka or Dutch farmers how their governments’ very high ESG scores have worked out for them.

According to Patronis, Florida will no longer play BlackRock’s ESG game:

Using our cash, however, to fund BlackRock’s social-engineering project isn’t something Florida ever signed up for. It’s got nothing to do with maximizing returns and is the opposite of what an asset manager is paid to do. Florida’s Treasury Division is divesting from BlackRock because they have openly stated they’ve got other goals than producing returns.

Parental Rights Groups Chalk Up Victories in School Boards Across the Country

Republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, & research purposes.

Recent elections have revealed the increasing momentum of parental rights, anti-CRT, and anti-LGBT groups in electing traditional-values candidates to school boards across the land.

The Minnesota Parents Alliance (MPA) lauded their efforts following the recent elections in that state:

Despite the negative headwinds against conservative candidates nationally and in Minnesota, school board candidates backed by the upstart Minnesota Parents Alliance had a very good election night.

Forty-nine candidates running with the official MPA endorsement won election to the school board last night, a tremendous accomplishment for an organization that was founded just nine months ago.

Dozens of other candidates who received support from MPA such as campaign training, technical assistance, and educational resources also cruised to victory. In fact, 22 out of 38 candidates who attended one of the MPA campaign schools won their elections.

Several more winning candidates throughout greater Minnesota benefitted from online access to MPA training sessions and support.

The 1776 Project PAC told the Christian Post that their efforts “from November 2021 to November 2022 … flipped 100 school board seats across the country.”

Specifically, the PAC-endorsed candidates won school board seats in Pinellas County, Flagler County, Indian River County, and Volusia County in Florida. All four of its endorsed candidates in Brandywine, Michigan, won school board seats there, while three of its endorsed candidates won seats in Carroll County, Maryland.

The PAC-endorsed candidates also won seats in Bedford, Virginia; Alliance, Ohio; and Bentonville, Arkansas. In Frederick County, Virginia, two of the group’s endorsed candidates won.

These successes followed similar victories last year, when the 1776 Project PAC saw four candidates win school-board seats in New Jersey, three in Ohio, and four in Virginia. It touted a 70-percent success rate for its candidates in Kansas, and a 100-percent success rate in Colorado last year.

Moms for Liberty (MFL), founded in late 2020, now boasts 100,000 members in 195 chapters in 37 states. Part of its mission is to abolish critical race theory and “The 1619 Project” from the public school curriculum. Of the more than 270 MFL school board candidates the group endorsed in 2022, over half won their respective races. In the past, conservative, traditional-values candidates would capture less than 30 percent of those seats.

The Christian Post recorded MFL’s remarkable successes:

Moms for Liberty indicated that all three of its endorsed candidates won school board races in Ocean City, New Jersey; five of its eight endorsed candidates won seats on the school board in Charleston County, South Carolina; six of its supported candidates emerged victorious in school board elections in Berkeley County, South Carolina; and four seats on the school board in New Hanover County, North Carolina, went to candidates the group supported.

Moms for Liberty touted additional victories in Rock Hill School District and Fort Mill School District in York County, South Carolina; Tipton, Indiana; and Iredell, North Carolina. Two of the three candidates supported by the group to serve on the school board in Shelby County, Tennessee, won their races, as did the organization’s chosen candidates in Pulaski County, Arkansas; Brevard County, Florida; Collier County, Florida; Lee County, Florida; Manatee County, Florida; Pasco County, Florida; and Volusia County, Florida.

According to unofficial results, the candidate endorsed by Moms for Liberty also emerged vict.orious in a school board race in Laramie County, Wyoming, as did two out of three candidates it supported in Natrona County, Wyoming. In Harford County, Maryland, unofficial results show three of the four candidates endorsed by Moms for Liberty winning their races.

In Baltimore County, Maryland, one out of the group’s three preferred candidates appears to have prevailed, while one of its four endorsed candidates appears to have won in Talbot County, Maryland.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis lent his credibility to several races in his state after signing into law the Parental Rights in Education Act earlier this year. All six of the school-board candidates that he endorsed won their races.

In Maryland, 25 socially conservative school-board candidates won seats in 14 counties.

In Texas, 10 Republicans were voted onto the Texas State Board of Education, while just five Democrats won seats there.

Thanks to the Covid infringements, parents have recently become aware of the infiltration of foreign ideologies into public schools, and the move to restore traditional education programs is now gaining traction.

If the results from the last two years are any indication, the restoration of “reading, writing, and arithmetic” in place of LGBT, CRT and Project 1619 Marxist history is well underway.

Oklahoma School District Tries to Ban Dad From Property After Battle Over Sexually Explicit Book

Owasso School Board upholds ban against parent

The reaction to the school board's decision was loud and clear. In a unanimous vote, the board upheld the superintendent's ban against Tim Reiland, keeping him off of school property and away from any events for the next six months.

"Our efforts to get nasty material from school may have cost Tim Reiland 6 months from being able to participate in the school, but ultimately, the entire community will benefit from the sacrifice. Tim has sacrificed a lot through this and it has hurt him. His wife put together an amazing GoFundMe to help recoup some of those losses so if you have some spare change laying around, and you appreciate our efforts, throw him and his family a couple of dollars:"

"My name is Kristy. My husband's name is Tim Reiland. We've been together for 23 years, so I know the kind of man and father he is. He is the kindest, most loving man I've ever known. He is a better father to our children than I've ever known. His children are his everything and he would do anything to keep them safe.
That's what he was trying to do but the Owasso Public School administration and Board Members appear to hate him. I believe they hate my husband because he is articulate, active, and participates in all of the processes within the schools. He regularly speaks at board meetings and has for two years now.
He also publishes all of his activism online, including in a podcast he does with another passionate parent: Loud Mouths .
Most recently, he discovered that the district has been handing depraved, graphic books to our children, which depict things I cannot say here but you can find on his Facebook profile: "Blankets ," by Craig Thompson.
They didn't believe him until he found the book online, printed off all 43 pages, and presented it to the school. They did take action to remove the book and said they'd write a policy to prevent it. But when the policy came, it had no such prohibitions in it.
He spoke about it on 10/10/22: Tim Reiland Speech .
Despite the Board President promising my husband that he would recommend they add prohibitions to the policy, he never did. Instead, they reverted back to the processes they had in place before that allowed the book on the shelf 18 years ago and to be checked out by DOZENS of kids.
As my husband often does, he waited to speak with his elected representative to ask what the collaboration was that kept them from prohibiting the disgusting filth. Instead, the board member wanted to debate the semantics of the word "pornography" and argue that there's literary value in Blankets. The board member grabbed my husband's shoulder, as is shown in video you can find here:
He told the board member "this is ***king bullsh**, fix it."
Four days later, he received a letter claiming he was a "threat to the peaceful conduct of students," despite them never actually stating WHAT he did - just "in light of your actions."
He obtained legal counsel through Legal Overwatch, a pro bono attorney fighting for parents' rights. A Federal Judge, John Heil, granted my husband's TRO and the ban was temporarily lifted until a preliminary injunction on 11/14/22.
This has taken its toll on our entire family. He has been ostracized from the school, he was financially hurt because he does deliveries through GrubHub, DoorDash, and UberEats but couldn't participate in the lunch rushes because he would be unable to deliver to the school.
While he is maintaining strength to fight this back, it has caused a lot of mental distress, and his ability to DJ weddings on the weekends has suffered, losing us about $2500 over the last month.
He will keep fighting against this authoritarian, retaliatory administration but it might be helpful if he could recover the lost money. Anything is helpful and our family would be forever grateful.
My husband is a great man. He always stands on his principles and he always speaks out against those who do wrong. He does this from a pure place in his heart. That's the man he was when we first got together 23 years ago and that's the man he still is today.
Thank you for anything you can do."

"A parent in an ongoing dispute with the Owasso school district regarding alleged pornography in the school library has won a significant legal battle. A federal judge has issued an injunction that thwarts the school district’s effort to prevent the parent from attending school board meetings."

Republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, & research purposes.

School districts under fire from parents have been known to engage in draconian tactics to silence and censor their critics. In Owasso, Okla., a school district has attempted to ban a father, Tim Reiland, from coming onto school property over what they claimed were two “incidents” in the parking lot after a contentious school board meeting where Reiland spoke out against the administration having a pornographic book on the shelves for 18 years. Reiland found out about the book when his daughter brought it home.

Libs of Tik Tok broke the story on Twitter.

The book Blanket depicts sexually violent and graphic scenes that are hard to even describe. There are children forcibly urinating on one another and in what looks like forced sexual situations. The book is supposed to be for adults but somehow ended up in a school for the last 18 years. I started digging into this story after I saw the tweet and I recorded my investigation including calls to the school and police.

According to the letter that Reiland received from the school two days after the meeting where he spoke against the school policy, he is banned permanently from school grounds and sports activities.

“It has been determined that you have committed one or more acts that interfere with the peaceful conduct of activities on District property and your presence interferes with the peaceful conduct on District property.” The superintendent, Margaret Coats, went on to write, “I have determined that your presence is a threat to the peaceful conduct of students.”

PJ Media reached out to the school asking what the incidents were but could not get Coates on the phone. We received a statement from media spokesperson Jordan Korphage that said, ” As this is an ongoing legal matter with Mr. Reiland pursuing action against the district, I am not able to provide specific details of the incident following the Oct. 10, 2022, school board meeting at this time.”

Korphage did provide some detail in the statement:

The parent brought a book to our attention on August 24, it was removed immediately and remains out of circulation. This parent’s suspension from school property has nothing to do with him voicing his concern regarding our library material, rather it is in response to an incident in the Education Service Center parking lot following the October Board of Education meeting. Every employee, student, volunteer, and visitor to our campus should never have to question their safety or be treated in a harassing manner, whether before, during, or after attending a school activity.

Reiland told PJ Media that the removal of the book wasn’t good enough because the policy that allowed it to be there in the first place was not changed. Coates herself spoke before the public comment on October 10 and reiterated that the policy of book selection would not change and denied that their policy had anything to do with the pornographic book being available to students.

In emails between Reiland and administrators over this issue, the school stuck to the American Library Association's talking points, claiming that they would follow all laws and that because the book was not illegal, therefore, they did nothing wrong. “While the books in question now and in the future may be questionable in content to some, they are not illegal,” wrote school board member Neal Kessler. He then reiterated that the school’s policy in which parents may raise concerns about a book after their child has been exposed to it would continue.

This is not what parents want.

Reiland replied to Kessler with what many parents are feeling toward school administrators these days who don’t protect their children.

Your assertion is that children should be allowed to see any kind of pornographic material you can hand them (whether it’s scat, urolagnia, hypoxphilia, child, bestiality, or rape porn) and that the only way anyone from the community can fight against that disgustingness is by filling out paperwork AFTER their child has already read it. Or, the parents are supposed to be your librarians and keep an eye on every single book that is purchased by every single district, then PURCHASE those books (given that multiple principles at this point have expressed to me, explicitly, that I am not allowed in your libraries), read them in totality, and “maybe” you’ll remove them from the school.

Here’s the thing, Neal. You exposed my daughter to filth. Your district handed my daughter a book with urolagnia, child rape, child porn, and all manner of disgusting displays of human depravity. I spent fifteen ****ing years working hard to filter that kind of nasty sh** from my internet and from my TV while she grew up. I spent hundreds of dollars on infrastructure in my home to ensure that sh** couldn’t be viewed in my home. And I sent my child to your school because I was under the impression that pornographic material (like what you’d see in some Hustler magazines…) was not allowed in school.”

These communications between Reiland and school administrators are numerous. But what about the “incidents?” Surely, if an incident was scary enough for the superintendent to say that Reiland’s presence in the school makes students unsafe, it would have been reported to the police!

PJ Media called the Owasso police and was told there were no reports of any incident on the night of Oct. 10, 2022. We also obtained security camera footage of one incident in the parking lot that led to Reiland’s banning. Reiland says he was standing next to his car with another father after the meeting when local reporter Art Haddaway came toward the car behind Reiland. As he approached, Reiland says he asked Haddaway if he wanted to interview him for his story. Haddaway refused the offer, and Reiland asked him why since his job is to report all sides of an issue. Reiland said Haddaway ignored him, got into his car unimpeded, and left. That was the entire incident. PJ Media reached out to Haddaway to ask why he was “intimidated” by this exchange but received no response.

A perusal of Haddaway’s reporting didn’t find any articles about the controversial school board meeting where three fathers spoke up about the explicit books, though Haddaway was in attendance for the Tulsa World.  School officials appear to have updated the policy on books since the press got hold of the story. The language that has been added to the policy includes that the selection program “shall be reflective of the community standards” and will take into consideration “age-appropriate” concerns when choosing materials. They have also added that every graphic novel will be inspected for “potential material including graphic sexually explicit content and extreme vulgarity.”

“That’s all I asked them to do,” Reiland told PJ Media. But no amount of protest from the families had successfully gotten through to the board until the national press got involved.

The second incident that the District mentioned in the letter to Reiland was a short conversation with a board member in the parking lot where Reiland said the school policy was “f*cking bullsh*t.” There was no physical altercation of any kind, and surveillance footage confirms that. A judge has already ruled on that incident and issued a temporary restraining order against the Owasso School District that restrains them from keeping Reiland off school property until the hearing on Monday.

Reiland is the host of a YouTube podcast called “Loud Mouths,” where he sometimes uses salty (and totally protected) language to comment on the news of the day or other issues important to him. It is possible that this platform concerns the school because Reiland has used it to speak out against district policy. Shutting him up could be top on their list for the exposure he gives to their mistakes. But should a government entity be able to target an outspoken parent in America?

The judge ruled that Reiland was within his rights to express himself with profanity and that it was covered under his first amendment rights. OCPA reported:

Reiland sued, arguing his First Amendment free-speech rights have been violated by the school. This week, U.S. District Judge John F. Heil agreed to issue a temporary injunction that prevents the school from restricting Reiland’s access to school property, finding that Reiland “is likely to succeed on the merits of his First Amendment claim and this factor weighs heavily in favor of granting preliminary injunctive relief.”

“It is well established that the right to criticize public officials and the right to ‘petition the Government for a redress of grievances’ are protected activities under the First Amendment…” Heil wrote. “Plaintiff’s criticism of the Board’s decision as ‘f—ing b——t,’ while vulgar and arguably unnecessary, is protected speech.”

Heil also wrote that Owasso’s effort to ban Reiland from school grounds “has an obvious chilling effect.”

“Under Defendants’ ban, Plaintiff is no longer able to attend OPS Board meetings or meet with OPS Board members on OPS grounds, thus chilling Plaintiff’s ability to criticize Board decisions and to ‘petition the [Board] for a redress of grievances,’” Heil wrote.

After the ruling, the board rescinded its ban against Reiland for the swearing incident but upheld its ban over his exchange with Haddaway. Reiland and Owasso School District are set to battle it out in court on Monday to see if the TRO will be turned into a permanent injunction against the school or if the school will be allowed to ban Reiland over talking to a reporter in the district parking lot.

One thing is certain: the Owasso School District has created a chilling effect by launching a legal war on Reiland that other parents who are less able or willing to battle it out in court will take note of. This effect will scare parents who might otherwise speak out against school policies but will now be silenced through fear of lawyer’s fees they can’t afford. It is unconscionable that schools can exercise their power in this way against critics, and they should pay a hefty price for doing it to Reiland.

PJ Media will continue to follow and update this story as it unfolds.

NY Schools Demand PARENTS Submit to Woke Brainwashing, Too

NY Schools Demand PARENTS Submit to Woke Brainwashing, Too

Republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, & research purposes.

At least five overpriced private schools in New York City are now subjecting parents to racist harangues and indoctrination sessions under the guise of “anti-racism” and “diversity,” and refusing to admit children of parents who will not comply, according to news reports. More than a few parents have expressed outrage.

The New York Post, which first broke the story, identified multiple examples of “elite” private schools in the Big Apple conscripting parents into mandatory racial brainwashing. While the sessions at some of the schools were officially “optional,” parents reported that school officials were even taking attendance.

The cost of these institutions is in the neighborhood of $60,000 per year, per child, according to news reports. Why any parent would pay a single penny to have their children subjected to the same abusive brainwashing that their taxes already fund in government schools was not immediately clear.

One of the worst offenders was Brearley School, an expensive all-girls indoctrination center in Manhattan. According to the student application, “parents are expected to attend two diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism (DEIA) workshops per school year.”

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) — often labeled DIE by critics for its deadly consequences — is the newest euphemism for hyper-racial propaganda declaring that some people are inherently racist due to their ancestry, while others are inherently oppressed victims.

Black critics of the scheme have regularly lambasted proponents as racists and wannabe “white saviors.” Furious black parents and pastors have especially denounced white adults training their children to see themselves as perpetually oppressed victims, in true Marxist style.

Anti-racism, meanwhile, is a new term demanding Marxist government controls and institutionalized racism to counteract alleged “systemic racism” that supposedly permeates all Western societies and cultures. Only a racial dictatorship can cure this problem, according to leading advocates of the half-baked idea.

Anti-racist kook Ibram X. Kendi, for instance, a tax-subsidized “scholar” at far-left Boston University, claims America needs a “Department of Anti-Racism” (DOA). Among other tasks, this unelected body of “formally trained experts on racism” would “be responsible for clearing all local, state, and federal public policies,” he said.

As part of attending the “elite” girls’ school in Manhattan, parents are expected to write an essay swearing fealty to the institution’s supposedly “anti-racist” so-called values, similar to the hateful propaganda spewed by Kendi. They also must sign a loyalty oath pledging their support to the ideology, according to news reports.

“We expect teachers, staff members, students, and parents to participate in anti-racist training and to pursue meaningful change through deliberate and measurable actions,” the pledge declares. “These actions include identifying and eliminating policies, practices, and beliefs that uphold racial inequality in our community.”

At another over-priced replica of the government’s indoctrination centers, named after Unitarian founding father of America’s Prussian-style government “education” system Horace Mann, a “family learning session” praised the work of racist Robin DiAngelo of “White Fragility” fame. DiAngelo claims, among other absurdities, that all descendants of Europeans are racist.

“How can we take DiAngelo’s message and make it applicable to all communities in the [Horace Mann] community,” mumbled the trainer under a “Black Lives Matter” face diaper reading “I CAN’T BREATHE.” “I don’t want to be in necessarily white spaces, because when black children were put into those spaces their support and caregivers were taken away and they were put into racially hostile environments.”

It is hard to imagine any sensible person could be paid enough money to allow their children to be brainwashed and abused with this sort of toxic poison. That there are enough willing to pay money to have their children destroyed proves the old biblical cliché is true: “A fool and his money are soon parted.”

(Natural News) In the aftermath of yesterday’s mid-term elections, the only good news is that we have essentially paused some elements of the Democrats’ agenda of total destruction by taking control of the House (as is currently projected but not yet called). This alone will pause the Democrats’ legislative and executive monopoly over America, and it gives the American people a bit of breathing room to try to adjust to the disturbing reality of what’s coming next.

That’s where the bad news kicks in, because what’s coming next for America (under Democrat rule) is going to be a multi-year “Dark Winter” of economic collapse, food inflation, censorship, tyranny, global war and more rigged elections.

Essentially, after last night’s mid-term election fiasco, the doom and gloomers have been proven right, while those claiming the “white hats” would come to rescue everybody are left floating in the wind.

The hopium pushers only made things worse

For two years, some people pushing “hopium” have maintained the illusion that a secret group of do-gooders would rescue America, reinstall Trump and wage mass arrests against the treasonous actors who are tearing down this nation. We were told again and again that the deadlines for this action were being moved forward, to await yet another key milestone date, and that the American people simply had to see how bad things got before the good guys would swoop in and save the day.

The reality, however, is that no real action ever actually happened. It was all just a series of stories and narratives that were, at times, entertaining but never rooted in anything that could be verified.

It turns out there are almost no good guys left in power. The entire wretched system has been infiltrated and is now commanded by evil, satanic Marxists and anti-America haters who are hell bent on destroying this nation as quickly as possible. The only holdouts against this appear to be at the state level, where leaders like Ron DeSantis stand out as law-and-order defenders who are working overtime to protect their states from federal tyranny. Thank goodness America still has states that can assert their own sovereignty.

The hopium has run out, and reality is rudely intruding. There is no super secret A-Team coming to set things right. Thus, we must face the harsh reality of where we find ourselves right now: The Democrats are just getting warmed up in terms of the starvation, currency collapse, homelessness, bioweapons outbreaks and nuclear war that they plan to unleash against us all. We haven’t even begun to see how bad this gets. We have only lived through the warm-up round, in other words, over the last two years. Now the real fireworks begin.

And nobody is coming to save us (other than ourselves and God, at some point). Anyone who has been sitting back and “watching the show” while waiting for victory has been seriously deceived. Perhaps it’s time to reevaluate your beliefs and realize that the doom and gloomers were right all along.

Stop your hopium addiction now and join the fight taking place in the real world, in other words, because hopium has only led America down the path of weakness and inaction. And now we find ourselves barely clinging to the last vestiges of the republic, staring into the abyss of totalitarianism and mass genocide. We are one slip away from annihilation.

Hear my short podcast summary of the rigged election here:

From this day forward, Democrats know they never have to answer to the voters ever again

What the mid-term proved is that Democrats know they can cheat and rig any election at any time. They just installed a brain damaged stroke victim in the U.S. Senate, for God’s sake, without batting an eye. They don’t need candidates who can cognitively function, of course, since Fetterman will no doubt be outfitted with a remote earpiece implant and told exactly what to say in real time, just like Buck Foe Jiden. Democrats want human robots to take office because they can be easily controlled (and are incapable of thinking for themselves).

Speaking of control, Democrats also now realize that as long as they have voting machines in play — and mail-in ballots, early voting, etc. — they can rig every outcome.

The shocking upshot to all this is that Democrats now know they never have to answer to the voters ever again.

It doesn’t matter to the Dems that 70+% of yesterday’s voters said they were frustrated or “angry” with government policies. Even if that number were 90%, Democrats would simply crank up the rigging algorithms to compensate. Answering to the voters is now an ancient, outmoded concept to Democrats, and the entire theater of elections only serves the purpose of adding a smear of legitimacy to an otherwise wholly corrupted process of selecting and installing leaders into public office who are despised by the very people they claim to represent.

The United States of America is no longer a representative, constitutional republic. It is an authoritarian, monolithic dictatorship where dissenting views are either completely ignored or outright criminalized. The idea of voters becoming unhappy as food inflation worsens or diesel fuel runs out doesn’t bother the Democrats one bit. They don’t have to answer to voters anyway, so why should they care what voters actually think?

From here forward, Democrats don’t even have to pretend to cater to the interests of the people. They can simply dictate their demands, no matter how insane, and arrest anyone who refuses to comply.

Hunker down and get ready for a long, dark winter of suffering and collapse

The bottom line in all this? Although Dems look likely to lose control of the House of Representatives (hence me calling them “dethroned”), they are preparing to unleash years of economic and social hell across America. These lunatics, remember, genocided their own voters with “vaccine” propaganda that killed or maimed millions of people. They murder babies and celebrate it. They are evil demons, and there’s nothing they won’t do to try to destroy America and humanity as a whole. That’s their goal: Global economic collapse and depopulation.

This is what happens when good people sit back and do nothing while waiting for someone else to come save them. It’s like what Sir Edmund Burke once uttered (paraphrased): All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

We are afflicted by that very thing: Good men (and women) doing nothing while America burns to the ground. People have become so accustomed to suffering, it seems, they no longer recognize a collapse when it’s happening in real time.

Soon, even the Lefties won’t be able to deny how bad things are becoming, but they are psychologically conditioned to always blamed it on someone else rather than their own corrupt, bad faith leaders who are deliberately attempting to exterminate humanity.
