An hour before midnight on Saturday, April 16, as millions of Christians around the world were preparing to celebrate Easter, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Mogadishu), who was not, was on Twitter. She sent around a video captioned “Worshipping Jesus 30,000 Feet In The Air,” showing a young man with a guitar leading what appears to be a Christian singalong on an airplane, although the video has no information about the setting or circumstances. Omar commented: “I think my family and I should have a prayer session next time I am on a plane. How do you think it will end?” Omar was implying, of course, that Muslims in America are subjected to a double standard and are routinely victimized by “Islamophobia.” And so once again the question arises: why does Ilhan Omar have such an active distaste for the country that welcomed her and her family and gave them refuge and where she has experienced so much success and adulation?
What would happen if Ilhan Omar’s family had a prayer session on a plane? Omar is suggesting that it would end with their arrest or at very least their harassment by racist, “Islamophobic” officials who had no problem, because of their “systemic racism,” with a group of Christians singing Christian songs on a flight.
The two scenarios, however, are not equivalent. Since the video Omar tweeted includes no details, it’s not clear whether this flight was filled with people who all belonged to some Christian group, or if an individual or group of Christians simply decided to start singing on the plane. If the latter, that might certainly be annoying to someone who might have hoped to catch a nap or read a bit on the flight, but no one on the plane would have felt in the slightest danger, because happy, singing Christians are not generally associated with acts of violence, for good reason.
If, on the other hand, a group of Muslims began Islamic prayer on a flight, some people might be worried. Ilhan Omar would claim that this was because of their “racism” and “Islamophobia,” but in reality, it’s just a simple recognition of the fact that the record of Muslims on airplanes is not entirely peaceful. Omar would consign to “hatred” what is actually just realistic and justified caution.
For all that, however, the answer to Omar’s question is that, even if some people might be made uncomfortable by Islamic prayer on an airplane, nothing would be likely to happen. I myself once sat on an eight-hour flight next to two Muslims who prayed the whole time, quite openly and un-self-consciously, with Qur’ans open on their laps. They weren’t being as loud as the Christians were in Omar’s video, but they weren’t making any secret of what they were doing, either, and although I was the only one sitting next to them, I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who noticed. No one batted an eye. They got no trouble from anyone.
Another time, I was standing at a gate waiting to board a flight when I saw a group of about twenty Muslims, all dressed in Islamic garb, begin prayers at the same gate. When they finished their prayers, they boarded the flight I was on. No-one stopped them. No one bothered them. No one said a thing to them about their prayers.
There is no doubt whatsoever that these were not unusual occurrences, for if Muslims ever were stopped from praying on a plane, you can be sure that we would have heard about it from the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and probably from Omar herself.
What Omar doesn’t tell you is that Muslims are not only not the victims of widespread discrimination and harassment in the U.S., but they have received all manner of special accommodations. The University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and other public institutions have built special areas for the ablutions before Islamic prayer; there are no publicly-funded holy water fonts or Torah scrolls. It is taken for granted even by influential opinion-makers that it is wrong and offensive to draw Muhammad, in accordance with Sharia blasphemy restrictions. Those who expose the ways in which jihadis use the texts and teachings of Islam to justify violence and oppression are excoriated as “Islamophobic” and “extremist” and de-platformed.
But Ilhan Omar is enraged over a little gospel singalong on a plane. She seems so unhappy in the United States. Maybe she should consider returning to her wonderful native land of Somalia, where there is no “Islamophobia.” A paradise indeed.

Is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez now the pope’s advisor on immigration? “It is true,” said Pope Francis Friday, “refugees are subdivided. There’s first-class, second class, skin color, [if] they come from a developed country [or] one that is not developed. We are racists, we are racists. And this is bad.” The claim that Western countries are racist in their approach to immigration is not original to the pontiff: AOC said it back in early March. But the key question, both then and now, is largely overlooked yet quite simple: is it true?
Interviewer Lorena Bianchetti asked the pope, “At this time, Your Holiness, I think of those fleeing: there are these images that show the flight of Ukrainian people who are forced to leave their land, their homes, their loved ones. It is one of the latest exoduses that we are probably, alas, becoming accustomed to. But in this case, there has been a real concrete response. Does this response, I ask you, do you think it means there are cracks in the walls of indifference, of prejudice toward those who flee from other parts of the world wounded by war, or will refugees continue to be subdivided into the category of being an annoyance?” It’s hard to fathom what indifference she could possibly have meant. Europe has welcomed refugees and migrants to the extent that one in four people in Germany now has a migrant background. Those are some mighty porous “walls of indifference.”
Instead of trying to talk some sense to Bianchetti, however, the pope demonstrated that he fully subscribed to the idea that the West’s response to mass migration has been colored, as it were, by prejudice. “It is true. Refugees are subdivided,” he replied. “There’s first class, second class, skin color, [if] they come from a developed country [or] one that is not developed. We are racists, we are racists. And this is bad.” Yeah, sure. But really, can the pope name a single country in Europe or North America that has refused any migrants because of skin color? This is pure Leftist fantasy and propaganda, and it’s incredibly irresponsible for the pope to be retailing it.
Nor did Francis stop there. He went on to frame the refugees as Christ-like, so as to shame Christians into thinking that opposition to unvetted mass migration is somehow sinful.“The problem of the refugees,” the pope asserted, “is a problem that Jesus suffered, too, because he was a migrant and a refugee in Egypt when he was a child, to escape death. How many of them are suffering to escape death?” Good question. Other good questions are: How many of them are economic migrants? What is our obligation in such cases? And how many of them are people who are hoping to take advantage of the West’s generous welfare system (Germany acknowledged as far back as 2017 that 75% of its migrants would be collecting benefits for years to come)? How many are criminals or terrorists?
The pope has never shown any sign of considering such questions. He has repeatedly branded those who oppose mass Muslim migration into Europe as un-Christian. He seems to be completely unconcerned about facts, such as the fact that all of the jihadis who murdered 130 people in Paris in November 2015 had just entered Europe as refugees. In February 2015, the Islamic State boasted it would soon flood Europe with as many as 500,000 refugees. The Lebanese Education Minister said in September 2015 that there were 20,000 jihadis among the refugees in camps in his country. On May 10, 2016, Patrick Calvar, the head of France’s DGSI internal intelligence agency, said that the Islamic State was using migrant routes through the Balkans to get jihadis into Europe. In light of all that, it is not “racist” in the slightest degree to be concerned about those who have come in, and about the possibility that there may be jihadis among them.
Instead, back in December, the pope visited the Greek island of Lesbos, a hotspot for migrant landings in Europe, and claimed that the migrants were neglected to the extent that it constituted a veritable “shipwreck of civilization.” Europe, he claimed, was “torn by nationalist egoism.” He added that “in Europe, there are those who persist in treating the problem as a matter that does not concern them.”
The pope’s imagined Europe, which is callously indifferent to the plight of migrants desperately fleeing certain death and chooses among those migrants on the basis of race, simply does not exist and has never existed. Nor will it likely ever exist. And the more the pope spreads these vicious untruths, the more the forces that are calling for some responsible restraints on mass migration for economic and security reasons will be drowned out. We are racists, and racists bad. That’s the depth of this man’s analysis.

(Natural News) Dr. Mehmet Oz is running for the United States Senate in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and former President Donald Trump is endorsing him.
In a public announcement, Trump wrote that Dr. Oz will help “stop the Radical Left maniacs from destroying our country.” He added that Oz is “brilliant and well-known,” and is “tough” and “smart,” which is what the country needs.
“I have known Dr. Oz for many years, as have many others, even if only through his very successful television show,” Trump said. “He has lived with us through the screen and has always been popular, respected, and smart. He even said that I was in extraordinary health, which made me like him even more (although he also said I should lose a couple of pounds).”
Trump went on to highlight Oz’s academic pedigree, including his Bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and his joint MD and MBA from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and the Wharton School of Finance.
“He has authored more than 350 original publications, written eight New York Times bestsellers, and received patents for developing medical devices that have improved countless lives and performed thousands of life-saving heart operations,” Trump added.

According to Trump, Oz is also pro-life, “very strong on crime, the border, election fraud, our great military and our vets, tax cuts and will always fight for and support our under-siege Second Amendment.”
Oz will also help the United States to become energy independent again – ever since Joe Biden was installed in the White House, America has become energy-dependent.
The greatest potential for Oz, Trump said, is that he actually stands a chance at winning a general election against “a Radical Left Democrat looking to do unthinkable harm to our country.”
Trump said that women are especially drawn to Oz because of his “advice and counsel,” which can help him win an election, even in a usually “blue” state like Pennsylvania.
“He knows his job is to serve every single Pennsylvanian,” Trump added. “Dr. Oz is smart, tough, and will never let you down, therefore, he has my complete and total endorsement. Good luck, Dr. Oz. Our country needs you.”
Rick Perry of Texas has also endorsed Oz, and the doctor also recently appeared in an interview with Fox News‘ Sean Hannity, who also sees Oz as a viable candidate for the Senate in Pennsylvania.
Not everyone is convinced that Oz is a good choice, however. Commenters on news items about Trump’s announcement were critical of both Trump and Oz, with one suggesting that “Oz is another Mitt Romney: saying what he thinks conservatives want to hear.”
A United States Air Force veteran wrote that “Oz is a RINO [Republican in Name Only] and may not actually be a real conservative.”
“Dr. Oz pushed gender ideology on children, defended abortion standards, called for red flag gun laws, helped craft Obamacare, and more,” wrote another.
It was actually quite difficult to find any comments of support for Oz, including someone who said he supports Trump and that he was the “best president ever,” but cannot get on board with Dr. Oz.

Laura Ingraham Hits Trump for Endorsing Oz in Senate Race

Laura Ingraham is none too pleased with Donald Trump’sendorsement of Mehmet Oz for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania, or Sean Hannity’s for that matter.
Oz is seeking the Republican nomination and hopes to replace the retiring Pat Toomey (R-PA).
On Tuesday’s Ingraham Angle, the Fox News host played years-old clips of Oz expressing concerns about climate change, the ability of mentally unwell people to purchase firearms, and states enacting strict anti-abortion laws. For Ingraham, his previous positions on these issues are disqualifying.
The host welcomed former Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway to the show to discuss the endorsement. Conway has endorsed Dave McCormick in the primary.
“Do you think the Trump endorsement of Oz was a mistake?” Ingraham asked Conway.
“Well, President Trump’s endorsement in these Republican primaries is a highly sought after and deeply consequential piece of political currency. So many people want it, they make the trek to Bedminster or Mar-a-Lago–”
The host cut her off and asked, “Was it a mistake, Kellyanne?”
Rather than talk up her preferred candidate – McCormick – Conway praised Trump, who was on the record as being pro-abortion until he ran for president. She said he had a “conversion” on the issue. She also accused Oz of making “rookie mistakes.”
Ingraham then noted that her Fox News colleague Sean Hannity is partial to Oz.
“Hannity, I think, I believe endorsed Oz and I think that’s, you know, that’s probably not inconsequential for President Trump,” she said. “You wouldn’t answer the question whether it was a mistake. I think it was a mistake to endorse Oz. I’ll say it. I’m not afraid to say it. It was a mistake to endorse Oz.”

U.S.A. – -(Ammoland.com)- “This is all about winning elections in order to stop the Radical Left maniacs from destroying our country,” Donald Trump declared Saturday in his “Endorsement of Dr. Oz.” “Dr. Oz is Pro-Life, very strong on Crime, the Border, Election Fraud, our Great Military, and our Vets, Tax Cuts, and will always fight for and support our under-siege Second Amendment.”
Regular readers of this column will remember the documentation of Oz’s stances on guns before he was running for office, including hosting “This Is Our Lane: Doctors Speak about Gun Violence,” endorsing infringements “including the banning of semiautomatic firearms” under the guise of “public health,” and further using his mass media platform to “sell” due process-denying “red flag laws” to his low-information audience.
The Gun Feed provided further irrefutable evidence of where Oz’s sympathies lie, including his call for fans to contact Congress to get the CDC back into the anti-gun advocacy through junk science business, and his Moms Demand Action-promoted hosting of anti-gun Rep. Lucy McBath.
“If the former president backs him that will tell all but the most self-deluded ‘3D chess’ apologists all they need to know,” I noted at the time.
Not quite. The guy made a name for himself on TV by firing people. Perhaps if he was better at picking them in the first place, he wouldn’t need to end up angrily attacking so many he had nothing but high praise for in the beginning.
That’s not to say Trump was wrong in his final assessments, but we’re talking about his initial ones here. And noting he’s a man who puts the highest priority on being perceived as a winner, we see the reason he has nothing but superlatives in his latest endorsement:
“Perhaps most importantly, I believe that Mehmet Oz will be the one most able to win the General Election against a Radical Left Democrat looking to do unthinkable harm to our Country.”
How electing someone the smart money says will be a leader in future Republican “compromises” on guns will be a “win” (for anyone who cares about the right to keep and bear arms) is left unstated. But it’s bigger than that, though, right? We need a Republican Senate majority so we can stop dangerous Biden appointments, like the recently confirmed Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, pushed over the top by two other Trump endorsees Susan Collins, and Mitt Romney.
Speaking of that process, it’s on Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans to explain why they didn’t even try to deny a quorum and prevent the vote from coming to the floor. It’s also on each of the national “gun rights groups” that did not urge their members to pressure them, and are now using the existential threat Jackson represents to solicit donations. There was no chance? How would they know without a committed fight, and how would that fight, and its risks, compare against the ones their members will now be forced into?
Now, in Pennsylvania, gun owners will once more be forced into a “lesser of two evils” decision, and one that can’t be resolved in the primary. Trump’s first choice, Sean Parnell, appeared to be on track with key “conservative” issues, including guns and immigration but suspended his campaign after being accused of abuse by his estranged wife. The other alternative is globalist “Bush Republican” David McCormick who throws gun owners this bone while wearing the obligatory orange vest and cap:
“Protecting our 2nd Amendment Rights – Dave grew up hunting on his family’s farm in Bloomsburg and remains a hunter to this day. He is a strong believer in our Second Amendment rights and will stand up against the extreme left who want to abolish our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms.”
An identical testimonial, equally as weasel-worded and meaningless, could have been offered up by Fudds for Biden. This is the best that Pennsylvania Republicans can offer, and the most that Pennsylvania gun owners have the clout to demand? Over the years acceptance of oath-breaking lumps like Tom Ridge, Arlen Specter, and Pat Toomey have convinced the establishment that they can get away with serial betrayals and never pay a price at the polls.
Left unaddressed is what the effects of taking fire out of bellies will have on voter turnout. Won‘t everyone be surprised, including Donald Trump considering his prospects for a 2024 comeback, if their best-laid schemes result in John Fetterman, Malcolm Kenyatta, or Conor Lamb taking home the prize?

Republicans who go against their party are a common sight in Washington. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), Susan Collins (R-Maine), Lisa Murkowski (R-Ala.), and the rest vote with Democrats so often, that it’s hard to see them as anything but controlled opposition. Democrats, however, generally march in lockstep; one of the reasons for the unhinged outrage against Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) for opposing Biden’s socialist agenda was that Democrats simply don’t do that. They vote with the party at all times, like good comrades.
But now, a group of no fewer than eighteen Democrats in the House have come out publicly against Biden’s Iran nuclear deal. For that many Democrats to break ranks with the putative boss, the deal must be extraordinarily bad.
One of the group, Rep. Elaine Luria (D-Va.), explained Wednesday, “We understand that while the recent negotiations have not concluded, we feel that we can’t stay quiet about the unacceptable and deeply troubling turn that these talks have reportedly taken.”
Unacceptable and deeply troubling is an understatement. Old Joe Biden’s handlers, in yet another of their endless series of decisions that could easily have catastrophic consequences for ordinary Americans, have actually turned over the leadership of the Iran nuke deal negotiations in Vienna to a Russian diplomat, Mikhail Ulyanov. And Ulyanov explained early in March that the deal will be of immense benefit to two countries: the Islamic Republic of Iran and the People’s Republic of China.
Ulyanov didn’t say anything about the United States of America benefiting from the deal, and apparently, Biden’s handlers are fine with that. Another member of the group of eighteen sane Democrats, Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.) asked, “Are we seriously going to let a war criminal, Vladimir Putin, be the guarantor of this deal?” Apparently, we are.
The deal gets worse from there. Right now, Biden’s handlers are considering dropping the terrorist designation from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC; the establishment media fastidiously and inaccurately calls the group the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps, trying to obscure the Islamic wellspring of its activities). Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid issued a joint statement on March 18, declaring that the IRGC is “a terrorist organization that has murdered thousands of people, including Americans. We refuse to believe that the United States would remove its designation as a terrorist organization.” Believe it.
Lapid and Bennett also noted that the IRGC “directs and instructs Hezbollah in Lebanon, Islamic Jihad in Gaza, the Houthis in Yemen and militias in Iraq, and that the body is responsible for attacks against American civilians and American forces throughout the Middle East, including in the past year.” They added, “They kill Jews because they are Jews, Christians because they are Christians, and Muslims because they refuse to surrender to them.” Biden’s handlers, on the other hand, seem ready enough to surrender to them.
Rep. Juan Vargas (D-Calif.) pointed out that Biden’s handlers have kept Congress in the “dark” about the details of the deal, and noted some disquieting parallels between the situation today and Obama’s disastrous 2015 Iran nuke deal. “It’s a little bit like last time. They keep us in the dark. Then … it turns out there are some fatal flaws,” Vargas said. “It was a bad deal then, and it’s a bad deal now.” Indeed. “We cannot afford another failed agreement,” Rep. Luria added.
It’s great to see that there are still some members of the Democrat Party who actually care about the United States of America and don’t want to see us enter into a ridiculously one-sided and possibly suicidal deal with a rogue state whose leaders regularly chant “Death to America.” Biden’s handlers, on the other hand, are so avid to vindicate Barack Obama against that upstart Trump who flushed the first Iran deal that it seems as if any deal will do, no matter how catastrophic its consequences could be.
Biden’s handlers should heed the warnings of these eighteen Democrats. But it’s much more likely that they’ll be ignored by the White House and excoriated by the media while the deal is signed, sealed, and delivered. It’s very clear that the Leftist oligarchs in charge do not like dissent. It will accordingly be quite interesting to watch the careers of Elaine Luria, Josh Gottheimer, and the rest.

Pope Francis, a leading advocate of Doormat Christianity, is at it again, trying to reverse nearly two millennia of Christian doctrine, by preaching total passivity—even against violent aggression.
On March 18, 2022, Francis declared before an audience that “A war is always—always!—the defeat of humanity, always. We, the educated, who work in education, are defeated by this war because on another side we are responsible.”
So far, all well and good, if only because such lofty but impotent words are expected.
But then Francis went so far as to say, “There is no such thing as a just war: they do not exist!”
That is a remarkably dangerous claim, one that, if embraced—as no doubt it is by millions of similar naïve thinkers—can easily lead to their annihilation.
There is, indeed, such a thing as a just war—the only rational way of responding to unjust wars—and it is firmly grounded in Christian, especially Catholic, teaching, even if the head of the Catholic world argues otherwise.
In fact, from the very start, Christian theologians had concluded that “the so-called charity texts of the New Testament that preached passivism and forgiveness, not retaliation, were firmly defined as applying to the beliefs and behavior of the private person [and not the state],” to quote historian Christopher Tyerman.
Christ himself—who called on his followers to render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and unto God what is God’s (Matt. 22:21)—differentiated between the social and spiritual realms. In the only recorded instance of Jesus being slapped, he did not “turn the other cheek,” but rather challenged his slapper to explain himself (John 18:22–23). The Nazarene further praised a Roman centurion without calling on him to “repent” by resigning from one of the most brutal militaries in world history (Matt. 8: 5–13). Similarly, when a group of soldiers asked John the Baptist how they should repent, he advised them always to be content with their army wages (Luke 3:14)—and said nothing about their quitting the Roman army.
This is because there is “no intrinsic contradiction,” continues Tyerman, “in a doctrine of personal, individual forgiveness condoning certain forms of necessary public violence to ensure the security in which, in St. Paul’s phrase, Christians ‘may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty’ (1 Tim. 2:2).”
Or in the words of that chief articulator of Just War theory, Saint Augustine (354–430), “It is the injustice of the opposing side that lays on the wise man the duty to wage war.” Crusades historian Jonathan Riley-Smith elaborates:
What was evil in war itself? Augustine had asked. The real evils were not the deaths of those who would have died anyway, but the love of violence, cruelty, and enmity; it was generally to punish such that good men undertook wars in obedience to God or some lawful authority…. Expeditions to the Levant, North Africa, or the Iberian Peninsula could be justified as responses to present Muslim aggression or as rightful attempts to recover Christian territory which had been injuriously seized in the past. [For more on the intricacies of just war theory, especially as compared and contrasted with unjust wars, which do merit condemnation, read “Just War vs. Just Plain Old Jihad.”]
Make no mistake: without just wars and the brave men who undertook them, the world today would be a very different place. Europe, for instance, would have been Islamic—and not by willingly capitulating, as it is now, but by force: countless jihads were waged against it and other Christian nations, and they were repulsed only by the force of arms—by war, just war.
Indeed, even the Vatican itself, whence Pope Francis issues his lofty words of peace and love, has long been targeted and even attacked (for example in 846) by Muslims, and was saved only thanks to men acting in accordance with just war theory.
There is nothing wrong with Pope Francis’s generic condemnation of war and its horrors. It is his usual lack of distinction—in this case, conflating just with unjust wars—that is problematic, if not suicidal.

Will Sufiyan Barhoumi return to jihad? Biden’s handlers don’t care. Their focus is entirely on the virtue-signaling Left, and for that crowd, every release of a jihadi from Guantánamo is good news.
Barhoumi never got a trial. American authorities decided early on that there was no jihad against the United States, and so every jihadi would be treated not as a prisoner of war, but as an individual criminal who would be tried as such. German soldiers captured during World War II weren’t given individual trials, but this time, we decided we weren’t in a war but were just facing an unusually large gang of crooks. Authorities didn’t always follow through on this, and so Barhoumi remained untried.

Sufiyan Barhoumi, 48, was recommended for release back in 2016 but was held back for six years nonetheless.
Barhoumi’s release was agreed upon in February, the Department of Defense said Saturday in a statement. The Algerian government provided unspecified “security assurances.”
Only 37 people remain detained at the notorious military prison in southern Cuba. President Biden has resumed regular releases and stated his desire to close the controversial prison….

Over two decades the United States and its international partners poured billions in humanitarian aid into Afghanistan. Much of that aid went into the pockets of the Taliban.
After Biden’s retreat, the Taliban have consolidated control over Afghanistan. And overall the hungry children, the girls deprived of an education, and all the other sob stories that kept a river of private charity and taxpayer money flowing into a hellhole in which nothing ever got better.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
At an aid conference hosted by the UN, the UK, Germany, and the Islamic terror state of Qatar, which backs the Taliban, $2.4 billion was raised for Afghanistan. The hosts had demanded over $4.4 billion which would have been the largest amount ever raised for any nation.
The Biden administration kicked in another $204 million.
That's on top of the $782 million in "humanitarian aid" allocated to Afghanistan last year since the Taliban took over. This year, Biden signed an executive order allocating $3.5 billion of the Afghan assets held in the Federal Reserve for the same purpose. But even not counting those funds, Biden has dedicated $986 million to Afghanistan since the Taliban took over.
That’s nearly $1 billion in taxpayer money and nearly $4.5 billion in total funds.
The Biden administration keeps insisting that the money won’t go to the Taliban. That’s as plausible as its previous claims that the Afghan government wouldn’t collapse, that if it did we would be ready and that all Americans would be evacuated before Kabul fell to the enemy.
There’s no one with less credibility on Afghanistan than a member of the Biden administration.
Biden's UN ambassador, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, claimed that "this humanitarian aid, like all aid from the United States, will go directly to NGOs and the United Nations. The Taliban will not control our humanitarian funding."
Since the Taliban control Afghanistan, they control the non-profit NGOs and the UN presence in what is now their country. Anyone who directs money into Afghanistan is funding the Taliban.
As I warned last year, the Taliban have a 10% Islamic tax on income, and NGOs and even UN agencies have been paying taxes to the Taliban going back as much as a decade.
The Taliban have already unveiled a “Monitoring and Control Plan of NGOs" which would allow the Islamic terror group to control everything that NGOs do with their aid. This is just the latest incarnation of the Taliban's old Commission for the Arrangement and Control of Companies and Organizations which included NGO coordinators and which padded the pockets of the Taliban with our aid. And the Taliban have already taken to seizing aid sent into the terror state.
In the Ghor province, the Taliban ruler announced that he was taking control over the NGOs and ordered them to turn over the money and pursue whatever projects the terrorists decided were worthwhile. Those who resisted were locked up, and while the order may be temporarily in abeyance after foreign protests, the terrorists keep testing us to see what they can away with.
The Taliban have been hungry to get their hands on foreign aid, but, likely guided by their Qatari backers, they've also been clever about it. They proposed a joint body with the international community to dispense aid. When that didn't work, they went back to their usual strategy of pressuring NGOs to hire Taliban members to determine where the aid should go and who should distribute it. But that's just a matter of cutting out the middleman for more direct control.
Since the NGOs rely heavily on local labor, all the Taliban have to do is intimidate Afghan employees into following their orders. And for a terror group that practices mutilation and beheading, that's not hard. Does anyone really believe that an Afghan with a wife and children living under Taliban rule is going to follow our aid guidelines rather than those of the gunmen?
The Taliban, like the Houthis in Yemen and other Islamic terror groups who both cause and profit from famines, have already been distributing and taking credit for humanitarian aid.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has also set up a "humanitarian trust fund" at a meeting hosted by Pakistan, a strong supporter of the Taliban, under the aegis of the Islamic Development Bank together with "international actors". One can only imagine where it will go.
NGOs are using Hawalas to move money into Afghanistan in order to bypass our sanctions on the Taliban. That means it's quite likely that international aid money is already crossing streams with funds being funneled to not only the Taliban but also to Al Qaeda and ISIS-K.
And since the Taliban control Afghanistan, they're also able to tax the Hawala system which means that any money we transfer, as Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield put it, "directly to NGOs" and is then moved by them to Afghanistan through Hawalas will go to the Taliban.
And that will be the first of a series of ways that the Taliban will profit from our humanitarian aid.
Humanitarian aid remains a major asset for Islamic terrorists from Hamas in Gaza to the Houthis in Yemen, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the Taliban in Afghanistan. While opium and rare earths are assets that require a great deal of labor and risk to exploit, foreign aid just shows up.
The Taliban continue to engage in diplomacy because we keep sending them money. But much as the Islamic terror group kept negotiating with us while plotting to seize the country, their willingness to engage in diplomacy doesn’t mean that they’ve become moderate. Only that the terrorists are once again playing on our naive faith in the power of international diplomacy.
After two decades of funding the Taliban with our efforts to rebuild Afghanistan, we’re still at it.
Portions of the nearly $1 billion in foreign aid stolen from the paychecks of American workers and the mouths of their children will be used to finance a new Jihad against Western nations.
A generation after 9/11, Americans are once again funding the terrorists who are out to kill them.

Since talks being held in Vienna adjourned last month, European participants have shuttled between Washington and Tehran in a vain search for accommodation from both sides. “At this point, nothing mutually acceptable” has been proposed, according to a U.S. official knowledgeable about the issue who, like others, spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive diplomatic and political matter.
Whether the United States will yield in any way is up to President Biden, and “the president hasn’t made a decision,” the official said. “Politically, we know that it’s an extremely difficult step to take.” For the moment, head U.S. negotiator Robert Malley said at a foreign policy forum last weekend, success “is not just around the corner, and not inevitable.”…

The Biden administration’s new nuclear accord with Iran is likely to include a loophole that will “allow Iranian nationals linked to terrorism to enter and stay in the United States,” according to a new Republican-authored policy analysis circulating on Capitol Hill and reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.
With negotiations over a revamped nuclear deal inching closer to completion, the Biden administration is considering a concession that will remove Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) from the U.S.-designated terrorist list.
The removal of this designation remains one of the final sticking points in diplomatic talks surrounding a new accord. Delisting the IRGC will “open the gates for Iranian terrorists to enter the United States” and make it harder for law enforcement agencies to target IRGC affiliates operating in the United States, according to a new assessment of policy implications authored by the Republican Study Committee (RSC), Congress’s largest Republican caucus and a principal opponent of a new accord.
“Removing the IRGC from the Foreign Terrorist Organization list is a non-nuclear related concession to Iran which would reward terrorist blackmail, allow Iranian nationals linked to terrorism to enter and stay in the United States, weaken law enforcement’s ability to go after those providing support or resources to the IRGC, and make it harder to hold those outside U.S. soil criminally accountable for helping the IRGC,” according to the policy analysis, which was distributed on Friday to 160 congressional offices and obtained exclusively by the Free Beacon.
The Biden administration’s bid to remove sanctions on the IRGC is fueling opposition to the deal from Democratic and Republican foreign policy leaders, who worry this concession will embolden Iran’s global terrorism and spy operations. Bipartisan legislation introduced in the House on Thursday and first reported by the Free Beacon seeks to force the Biden administration into disclosing how sanctions relief for Iran will boost the IRGC’s capabilities….

James claims that “IPT targeted the organizations and individuals in a concerted effort to infringe on the rights of Muslims, including their right to worship, peacefully assemble and organize politically, petition the government, and to vote.” This is patently false and absurd. IPT was looking for evidence of jihad terror sympathies and activity, and did absolutely nothing to infringe upon Muslims’ “right to worship, peacefully assemble and organize politically, petition the government, and to vote.”
It is noteworthy that Letitia James is attorney general of the state of New York and has sent this letter to IPT at the behest of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), but she has not charged IPT or Steven Emerson with any crime. That in itself is a clear indication that IPT did nothing illegal, as James would certainly have happily brought charges if there had been any possible grounds to do so.
The worst part of this ridiculous action by James, however, is her casual and unexplained use of the appellation “anti-Muslim hate group” for the Investigative Project on Terrorism. This is a highly tendentious and unjustified designation that originates with the discredited Leftist smear machine the Southern Poverty Law Center. It is irresponsible and ominous for an official who is supposedly administering impartial justice to use this term as if it were established and indisputable fact. In a sane world, James would be impeached and removed from office for this alone. In our world, she’ll probably be elected governor.
“Attorney General James Warns Hate Group to Immediately Stop Spying on Muslim Communities,” Letitia James, April 1, 2022:
NEW YORK – On the eve of Ramadan, New York Attorney General Letitia James today warned a known anti-Muslim hate group to stop spying on Muslim communities. Attorney General James sent a cease-and-desist letter to Steven Emerson and the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) directing them to immediately stop any unlawful and discriminatory surveillance they may be conducting on Muslim communities in New York. The action follows reports that IPT paid informants and infiltrators for over a decade to spy on Muslim houses of worship, Muslim advocacy groups, and prominent Muslim leaders — blatant violations of their civil rights. Attorney General James also issued a letter to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), requesting an investigation into IPT’s possible violations of federal criminal and civil rights laws. As a charity that operates in New York, IPT is required to follow state laws, and is subject to enforcement by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG). Furthermore, Attorney General James warned against any discriminatory action targeting communities.
“As we enter the holy month of Ramadan, it’s more important than ever that we show our support for our Muslim communities and stand up to Islamophobia and hate of any and every kind,” said Attorney General James. “Let me be clear: We will not bow to hate, we will not enable bias, and we will not empower Islamophobia. I urge DOJ to stand with us and use its considerable power to protect Muslim communities throughout New York and across the nation. Our constitution protects the rights of all communities to live without harassment or intimidation; we will remain vigilant in the protection of these rights.”
In December 2021, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) revealed that for more than a decade, IPT paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to spies in order to gain access to Muslim organizations and leaderships to record confidential conversations and documents. Most notably, IPT reportedly infiltrated the Ohio chapter of CAIR, through its then-leader, Romin Iqbal, who leaked confidential documents and recordings. In another undercover operation, IPT paid more than $100,000 to Tariq Nelson to spy on members of a mosque in Virginia and record privileged conversations without other participants’ knowledge.
The documents and recordings collected by IPT include a 2010 meeting of national Muslim leaders discussing the negative responses to the proposed Islamic center near Ground Zero in lower Manhattan, and a 2015 discussion of then-presidential candidate Donald Trump’s anti-Muslim rhetoric. Public statements from those involved in the operation suggest that IPT targeted the organizations and individuals in a concerted effort to infringe on the rights of Muslims, including their right to worship, peacefully assemble and organize politically, petition the government, and to vote….

Last fall, the Biden State Department kept insisting that all Americans who wanted to get out of Afghanistan were able to leave. Then, as several planeloads of Americans left Afghanistan after that statement was made, we were told every U.S. citizen who wanted to get out of Afghanistan was offered help with leaving.
Now we’re told that there are dozens of Americans still in Afghanistan who appear to be held hostage by the Taliban even though the word “hostage” hasn’t been used.
Today, two of those American hostages were released.
The Biden administration on Friday secured the release of Safi Rauf, 27, an Afghan-American Naval reservist who was doing humanitarian work in Kabul and who had been in captivity under the Taliban since December.
Rauf and his brothers, all former Afghan refugees, founded the Human First Coalition, which, along with others in the “Digital Dunkirk” movement, worked to evacuate those desperately trying to flee after Kabul fell. The organization’s work soon turned to humanitarian aid for Afghans, and Rauf put medical school on hold to go to Kabul to try to provide crucially needed aid.
Rauf and his brother Anees Khalil were captured by the Taliban in December. The date is significant because it was in December that the Taliban began making nice with the international community in a bid to wangle humanitarian aid. It’s perfectly in keeping with the Taliban strategy to talk peace while seizing negotiating assets like hostages.
“Safiullah Rauf and Anees Khalil were released after being unjustly detained in Afghanistan,” Ned Price, a State Department spokesman, said Friday. “They are now in Qatar before traveling home. We are grateful for the efforts of all those who worked to secure their release but more work remains. Unjustly holding Americans captive is always unacceptable, and we will not stop until every American who is being unjustly held against their will is able to hug their families once again.”
It’s unclear what the administration gave up to get the brothers released. From what we know about the Taliban, weapons and cash were probably part of the deal. But why isn’t the media all over this story demanding to know why dozens of Americans were left behind in Afghanistan after the bug-out?
The release of the Rauf bothers comes as the Taliban continues to seek recognition as Afghanistan’s legitimate government from the United States and other Western nations. Since sweeping back into power in August 2021 as the Biden administration withdrew all US troops from Afghanistan, the Taliban has detained at least eight Westerners, CNN reported in February, including the Rauf brothers.
During the US withdrawal, they worked alongside the Taliban amid a chaotic evacuation of foreigners and Afghans from Kabul. Since then, US officials have been in regular communication, but there are still dozens of Americans in Afghanistan who have wanted to leave the country but have been unable to because there have not been regular evacuation flights.
This is the price of incompetent, cowardly leadership refusing to own up to their errors. We should hope that if the GOP gains control of Congress, this entire, sorry debacle will be thoroughly investigated.

Why identify the perpetrators as “Muslims” rather than as “militants” or “insurgents”? Because it was their Islamic faith that led them to do this: their attacks are “inspired by their desire to forcefully take over Christians’ lands and impose Islam.” If they had a different motivation, another signifier would be appropriate.
“Terrorists Kill 50 Christians and Abduct 100, including Priest,” Morning Star News, March 28, 2022:
ABUJA, Nigeria (Morning Star News) – Fulani herdsmen on Thursday (March 24) killed an estimated 50 Christians and abducted a Catholic priest in attacks on communities in an area of Kaduna state, Nigeria, area sources said.
In late-night attacks on 10 predominantly Christian communities of Giwa County, herdsmen and others also took about 100 people captive and burned down a church building, area residents said.
“They also burned houses, stores and killed animals,” resident Nuhu Musa told Morning Star News by text message. “These attacks continued and lasted up to the morning of Friday, 25 March. They didn’t allow even the dead bodies to be buried, as they shot at mourners and those who returned to the villages to conduct funerals for those killed.”
Women and children were among those killed, Musa said. The burned church building was located in Zangon Tama village, and the assailants also raided the villages of Unguwar Kaya Fatika, Barebari, Dillalai, Unguwar Bakko, Gidan Alhajin Kadi, Kadanya and Durumi, he said.
“Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna state is bleeding,” Musa said.
Samuel Aruwan, commissioner in Kaduna state’s Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, said initial reports showed the assailants had attacked the villages of Dillalai, Barebari, Dokan Alhaji Ya’u, Durumi, Kaya and Fatika.
The Catholic priest, the Rev. Felix Fidson Zakari of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, was taken away at gunpoint from Zangon Tama village along with others, four area residents said. The residents and a spokesman for the Catholic Diocese of Zaria requested prayer for the abducted priest.
Among other villagers, Julius Agbado, a member of the Catholic church, said, “Please kindly pray for the safe release of Rev. Fr. Felix Fidson Zakari, a priest of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Zangon Tama, under the Catholic Diocese of Zaria, who was kidnapped after armed herdsmen and terrorists attacked Zangon Tama.”
Another area resident, Muazu Gogi, lamented the government’s failure to protect villagers against such attacks, which have become commonplace in Kaduna state.
“Pray for us to survive these attacks by herdsmen and bandits,” Gogi said. “These herdsmen and bandits attacked several villages in Giwa Local Government Area and killed more than 50 persons. The government is aware about the killings and destructions by these Fulani terrorists and armed bandits but is unable to protect the people.”
Killings in Benue State
In Benue state, Fulani herdsmen early Wednesday (March 23) killed three Christians, following the slaughter of more than 20 people in predominantly Christian areas of the state earlier in the month, sources said.
Residents of predominantly Christian Yoli village, in Katsina-Ala County, said the Fulani attacked at about 2 a.m. and also wounded a dozen people, forcing many to flee their homes.
“The Fulani, who had guns and weapons like machetes, attacked Christians in one of our villages, Yoyo community in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area,” Comfort Angula told Morning Star News in a text message. “They killed three members of the community, and many were forced to flee the village.”…
Christian leaders in Nigeria have said they believe herdsmen attacks on Christian communities in Nigeria’s Middle Belt are inspired by their desire to forcefully take over Christians’ lands and impose Islam as desertification has made it difficult for them to sustain their herds.
Nigeria led the world in Christians killed for their faith last year (Oct. 1, 2020 to Sept. 30, 2021) at 4,650, up from 3,530 the previous year, according to Open Doors’ 2022 World Watch List report. The number of kidnapped Christians was also highest in Nigeria, at more than 2,500, up from 990 the previous year, according to the WWL report.
Nigeria trailed only China in the number of churches attacked, with 470 cases, according to the report.
In the 2022 World Watch List of the countries where it is most difficult to be a Christian, Nigeria jumped to seventh place, its highest ranking ever, from No. 9 the previous year.

While the world is caught up with the Russia-Ukraine crisis, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is trying to rally Turks across Europe to “work harder” to “advance the causes of Allah.”
And he “sees Turks living in Europe as his own citizens.” Turkey does not belong in NATO. It should have been ejected long ago. The Islamic supremacist, opportunist Erdogan has made no secret about his long-term ambition of global conquest in the form of a revived Ottoman Empire.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is attempting to rally Turks across Europe behind his political Islamist cause, according to a report by the Stockholm-based Nordic Research & Monitoring Network.
Erdoğan who clearly sees Turks living in Europe as his own citizens, rather than nationals and/or residents of the countries where they live, work and retire, called on all to unite under one nation and one flag, the network said on Monday.
Last month, Erdogan said that when Turkey properly mobilises this power, no organisation, no evil structure, no hidden or open obstacles can stand in its way. He spoke at a meeting organised by the Union of International Democrats (UID), known as Erdoğan’s Justice and Development Party’s (AKP) proxy group abroad.
Erdoğan’s speech at the UID meeting was by far the most provocative to date, amounting to overt political interference in European affairs and using Turks and Muslims as trump cards against the nations, the network said.
Formerly named as The Union of European Turkish Democrats (UETD), the group was evaluated as incompatible with Germany’s constitutional order, according to a report by the German domestic intelligence agency, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) in 2017. BfV has confirmed that it was spying on the group in Germany as an anti-sabotage measure.
The UID has 253 branches with 38 regional organisations in 17 countries.
In his speech, Erdoğan gave directions to UID members to work harder to achieve their objectives, the network said.
“The more you expand this umbrella as the UID, the more you increase your sphere of activity and influence, the more successfully you can fulfil the mission of delivering these messages to our citizens, organising them and preparing them for the future,” it cited Erdoğan as saying.
“The next pillar of the bridge we built from the past to the future should and will be the places where we live in Europe,“ Erdoğan said.
Erdoğan said hundreds of millions of Muslim friends and brothers stand behind the Turks and that they all are committed to the advancement of the causes of Allah and the truth.
Turkey, backed by Turks and Muslims in Europe, “would derail any plans devised by European governments”, Erdoğan said….

NAIROBI, Kenya (Morning Star News) – Upset over conversions to Christianity, hardline Muslims in an area of eastern Uganda this month sprayed a newly Christian family with acid and beat a former mosque leader, sources said.
In Intonko village, Namutumba District, Muslim relatives on March 8 sprayed acid on Juma Waiswa, 38, his 32-year-old wife Nasimu Naigaga, and their 13-year-old daughter, Amina Nagudi after they put their faith in Christ the previous month, Waiswa said.
They converted to Christianity when a pastor visited their home the morning of Feb. 17 and explained the gospel. When their relatives learned of their conversions, they called them to a meeting with other clan members on March 8, Waiswa said.
“During the meeting we were asked about our salvation, and we affirmed to them that we had believed in Jesus and converted to Christianity,” Waiswa told Morning Star News. “They told us to renounce Jesus, but we stood by the newly founded faith in Jesus.”
Christians had deepened the family’s faith in visits and Bible study after their conversion, he said.
“When we refused to recant our faith in Jesus, my father, Arajabu, recited some koranic verses, and after that they forcefully started beating us with sticks as prescibed in the Koran, claiming that we were apostates,” Waiswa said. “As this was not enough, my father went inside the room and picked up a bottle of acid and began spraying it on us while the group started shouting, ‘Allah Akbar [God is greater], you deserve death,’ and then disowned us.”
Initially they did not know what kind of liquid was sprayed on them, he said.
“But as we were fleeing for our lives, we started feeling some serious itching that continued till the pain intensified,” Waiswa said. “A nearby Christian neighbor called the pastor, who arrived immediately and took us to hospital in Mbale, but our daughter was seriously affected and was referred to a hospital in Jinja.”
On March 9, while the three were receiving hospital treatment in, their house was set ablaze, he said.
The three are still undergoing hospital treatment. They requested prayer for healing and for a place to stay after recovering….

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Tuesday asked the European Union to relaunch talks for Turkey to eventually become an EU member, on the eve of a summit focused on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Agence France-Presse reported.
The Turkish president’s comments come as the war in Ukraine allows Ankara to return to the international stage by offering its services as a mediator in the conflict.
“We expect the EU to open quickly the chapters of the membership negotiations and to start negotiations on a customs union without yielding to cynical calculations,” Erdoğan said after talks with visiting Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
Negotiations for Turkey’s accession one day to the 27-nation EU, which began in 2005, have stalled in recent years over tensions between the two sides, with the EU accusing Turkey of moving away from the rule-of-law and other values on which the bloc is founded.
Relations between Turkey and the EU worsened sharply after the July 2016 attempted coup.
The EU has often criticized the crackdown and the attacks on freedom of speech which followed the failed putsch, in which tens of thousands of people have been arrested including journalists.
The EU and Turkey had agreed a deal in March 2016 worth billions of euros in which Turkey would take back migrants in exchange for visa liberalization, which has yet to be introduced for Turks….
