Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued an executive order last week that helps law enforcement return illegals to the border. This is in direct defiance of President Biden’s welcome mat plan for what the White House prefers to call “irregular” migration. 

“I have authorized the Texas National Guard and Texas Department of Public Safety to begin returning illegal immigrants to the border to stop this criminal enterprise endangering our communities,” Abbott said. “As the challenges on the border continue to increase, Texas will continue to take action to address those challenges caused by the Biden Administration.”

Abbott’s executive order comes at a time of historic illegal crossings at the border. There were more than 239,000 illegal crossings in May alone, and Abbott said that there were 5,000 illegal immigrant apprehensions in Texas alone over Independence Day weekend.

“While President Biden refuses to do his job and enforce the immigration laws enacted by Congress, the State of Texas is once again stepping up and taking unprecedented action to protect Americans and secure our southern border,” Abbott said in a statement. “The cartels have become emboldened and enriched by President Biden’s open border policies, smuggling in record numbers of people, weapons, and deadly drugs like fentanyl.”

Abbott has taken a number of dramatic measures to cope with the flood of illegal immigrants hitting the state, including busing illegals to Washington, D.C. Last year, the state increased resources and law enforcement to the border under the still-ongoing Operation Lone Star in order to arrest those entering the country illegally.

A recent reported six-day total of 26,000 illegal immigrant arrests were made in the Del Rio, Big Bend, El Paso, Loredo, and Rio Grande Valley sectors.  This represented more than half the total 40,000 estimated to have been apprehended across the entire southwestern border. About 70 percent of those apprehended were reportedly single adults.

Despite a judge stopping President Biden from lifting the Covid-19 pandemic-era expulsion policy Title 42, his administration is failing on enforcing the measure as 65 percent of the 26,000 migrants managed to avoid being deported under the health rule.

Biden’s “border czar,” Vice President Kamala Harris, attacked Abbott in a Sunday television interview over his executive order tapping state officers for migrant arrests. She hammered Abbott’s accusations that the White House is responsible for the migrant crisis, suggesting he “focus on solutions” rather than criticize the administration.

“I would suggest that so-called leaders focus on solutions instead of attacks if they really are concerned about a problem, and that includes the issue of immigration,” said Harris.

Harris herself has done little in her role as border czar to solve the illegal immigration crisis. The vice president maintained that solutions to illegal immigration would include “passing a pathway for citizenship,” a long-held goal for Democrats.

Even with Abbott’s executive order, some Texas counties have declared the illegal immigrant crisis an “invasion” and urged Governor Abbott to do the same. This would give the state greater powers, including returning illegal immigrants into Mexico itself.  A few House Republicans have called for an invasion declaration as well.

Representative Chip Roy (R-Texas) said, “We are dealing with an invasion. Texans are dying from fentanyl pouring into our communities. Our ranchers are getting overrun, their livestock are getting out, their fences are getting cut. Our communities are dealing with that. So, all of these leaders in the counties in south Texas are asking for is that Texas step up, and we go do what the federal government refuses to do.”

Abbott has so far not issued such a declaration, but his executive order did mention the word “invasion,” saying the Biden administration has “abandoned the covenant, in Article IV, § 4 of the U.S. Constitution, that ‘the United States…shall protect each [State in this Union] against Invasion.'”

While Governor Abbott does all he can to protect his state’s border, the solution to immigration rests with the President and Congress.  The Constitution of the United States gives significant authority to the president over immigration, but it gave Congress broad power over immigration too. It’s time for both to stop kicking the can down the road, and once and for all solve the immigration issues plaguing our nation.

“Who controls the past controls the future,” writes George Orwell in 1984. “Who controls the present controls the past.” Were he with us today, Orwell would be getting tired of being right all the time, but he has just been proven right again: Thomas Jefferson’s famed mansion Monticello has been turned into a fount of woke propaganda that denigrates Jefferson and treats unsuspecting visitors to an over-the-top orgy of victimhood and white guilt regarding slavery. The Left hates America and wants very much for you to hate it, too.

Jeffrey Tucker of the libertarian Brownstone Institute said Saturday that “the whole thing has the feel of propaganda and manipulation. People on my tour seemed sad and demoralized.” That’s exactly the goal, Mr. Tucker: make Americans sad and demoralized and vulnerable to those who would have them believe that this nation has been evil from the beginning and is in drastic need of a thorough overhauling of its political system and society in general. Tucker added that when he was at Monticello, his guide was “surly and dismissive” of Jefferson’s remarkable achievements.

Monticello is no longer about Mr. Jefferson’s achievements. According to the New York Post, Monticello’s “new emphasis is the culmination of a 10-year effort to balance the historical record, officials of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, the nonprofit that owns the estate, have said.” “Balance the historical record”: that’s a calculated and clever way of saying “Do everything we can to denigrate Thomas Jefferson and make those who admire him enough to visit his home come out hating him.”

Accordingly, the Post reports, “visitors complain that employees go out of their way to belittle Jefferson and his life.” One visitor wrote on Facebook that “the tour guides play ‘besmirchment derby,’ never missing a chance to defame this brilliant, complex man.” Another wrote: “Always enjoyed visiting Monticello in the past. The workers are super friendly and helpful. Unfortunately on this guided tour, we were lectured more on slaves and Sally Hemmings than the man himself. Half of the comments on Jefferson were critical. I expected for, the price, to have enjoyed it more. Even my 11 yr old daughter noticed the bias. We all are aware of the tragedy of slavery during the early part of this country’s history. Please center your presentations on the man and his accomplishments rather than promoting guilt.” Not a chance.

A third visitor said: “Visited a few years ago and had a great experience and got to learn a lot about Thomas Jefferson. This time every video slandered his name and the entire focus was on his mistress. Very disappointing and shocking to see how they are trying to rewrite history to make it seem like the founding fathers were terrible immoral creatures that happened to start a country.” Ah yes, now you’re getting the idea.

At this point, Monticello might as well be renamed Guilt Plantation. The Post noted that even the ticket booth to the place gets into the act: it’s “decorated with a contemporary painting of Jefferson’s weeping slaves.” In Jefferson’s music room, “a grim modern painting of a faceless figure with a matte black head now looms over the room, positioned so that it directly confronts visitors as they enter the mansion.” This masterpiece, according to Monticello guide Susan Woodward, was “commissioned in honor of Juneteenth” and was intended to be “quite provocative.” A card next to this painting explains that its “hands and face of featureless tar” are meant to signify “the faceless lives of all who served in bondage, witnessing but never recognized.”

Meanwhile, “guides begin their outdoor tours of Monticello’s gardens and grounds by invoking the Native Americans who once lived on the land.” A placard asks: “Is ‘all men are created equal’ being lived up to in our country today? When will we know when it is?” In the gift shop, visitors can pick up books by race grievance propagandists Ibram X. Kendi and Ta-Nehisi Coates. The Farm Shop store offers five books about Jefferson’s slaves, as compared to only one about Jefferson himself.

Not surprisingly, “The Thomas Jefferson Foundation is run by a roster of big-money Dem donors and former Democratic officials.” Monticello’s descent “has largely been funded by left-leaning philanthropist David M. Rubenstein, who donated $20 million toward that effort in 2015. Rubenstein is “on the boards of the globalist World Economic Forum, China’s Tsinghua University, and the Council on Foreign Relations, among others.” Now it’s beginning to become clear why all this is happening.

The endgame is not just to make Americans despise Thomas Jefferson, but to make the average American ashamed of being American. That’s what this has been about from first to last. If the complexities of human experience have to be obliterated in the process, with cartoonish one-dimensional heroes and villains put in their place, so be it. We cannot celebrate Jefferson for all that he did to lay the groundwork for the freest society the world has ever seen. We cannot see him as a remarkable but flawed human being who was exemplary in some ways but not in others.

What’s more, the reason why the Left hates him with such burning intensity is not that he was a slave owner. Leftists love Fidel Castro, who enslaved an entire nation. They love all manner of authoritarians, totalitarians, and mass murderers. They’ve never minded the eggs that have to be broken to make their socialist omelets.

No, the real reason why the Left hates Thomas Jefferson is for all the things for which he should rightly be celebrated: Because he fought against tyranny. Because he helped create a free republic. Because he placed statements in those founding documents that would ultimately lead multitudes of the citizens of the new nation to believe that slavery was wrong and immoral and give their lives to bring about its abolition.

Jefferson is just the sort of man whom the fascist thugs of Antifa, busy smearing ACAB on the sides of buildings and hurling obscenities at police in pursuit of their vision of socialist utopia, and their moneyed backers would despise and fear. They want a docile American populace, frightened into submission to their authoritarian vision. The example of Thomas Jefferson could inspire Americans instead to pledge their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to preserve our hard-won freedoms. Can’t have that. Jefferson’s name must be made anathema to Americans.

UPS Issues New Rules for Shipping Firearm Parts – Serial Numbers Now Required

U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)- United Parcel Service has issued new rules for shipping firearms and firearm parts, but the announcement comes a week after UPS canceled the accounts of gun retailers who may have violated the rules that weren’t yet made public or even in effect.

In a story published July 1, we revealed that UPS was terminating the accounts of gun dealers and that any packages currently in the UPS system could be “seized and destroyed.”

In a letter sent to one Florida gun dealer, Ghost Firearms, UPS said they were terminating the account because they “may be violating” laws concerning homemade firearm parts.

“We write to inform you that UPS has learned that your company may be violating applicable laws concerning the shipment of “ghost guns” to unauthorized locations,” the letter states. “In light of our concern, UPS has determined that it will cancel your account, effective immediately.”

In a follow-up story published July 5, we revealed that five Democratic Senators recently sent ominous letters to UPS and 27 other carriers, blaming them for escalating violent crime rates.

“We are concerned that lax shipping security measures are contributing to the epidemic of gun violence in this country by allowing criminals to use stolen firearms to commit crimes,” the letters each state.

They were signed by Senators Edward Markey (D-Mass.), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Cory A. Booker (D-N.J.), Christopher S. Murphy (D-Conn.), and Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.).

In their letters, the Senators peppered the shippers with 20 questions and document requests. They were sent May 19 to UPS, FedEx, the U.S. Postal Service, and trucking and rail carriers located in the United States and Canada.

UPS media relations personnel did not respond to calls or emails seeking comment for either story.

Now, UPS has quietly updated its rules for shipping firearms on its website.

Now, they require a serial number on any frame or receiver, as required by a federal rule that hasn’t yet taken effect.

Any item that meets the definition of a firearm (including firearm mufflers or silencers) or a “frame” or “receiver” under federal law (including any partially complete, disassembled, or nonfunctional frame or receiver as defined by 27 CFR § 478.12) must be identified and bear a serial number in satisfaction of the requirements for identifying such items under federal law, including 27 CFR § 478.92 and/or 27 CFR § 479.102, regardless of whether any such items are otherwise exempt from or not subject to identification requirements under applicable law.  This prohibition applies even before the effective date of 27 CFR § 478.12.

UPS’ previous rules contained no serial number requirements.

Takeaways

Over the past two weeks, UPS’ messaging has been a hot mess.

They threatened dealers’ livelihoods. They seized and destroyed property – all with no advance notice – and when they were caught and their actions became public, they failed to address their mistakes.

In other words, they punished gun dealers for violating secret UPS rules that weren’t even public – all because they got a scary letter from five anti-gun politicians.

As a private business, UPS is free to enact whatever shipping rules they want, but we are free to choose a carrier that’s not so schizophrenic.

President Biden Sells U.S. Reserve Oil to Chinese Firm Connected to Son

Included in the American oil being shipped out of the country during a time of extremely high gasoline prices is nearly one million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to a Chinese firm — owned by that country’s communist government — in which Hunter Biden’s equity company held a $1.7 billion stake. The 950,000 barrels sold to Unipec, the trading arm of Sinopec, make up part of the five million barrels of oil exported after President Joe Biden released oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

The Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) was created during the administration of Richard Nixon for use in times of national emergency. At the time, the United States was heavily dependent upon foreign oil, and it was argued that the SPR could help if those foreign sources were cut off in time of war or other national emergency. Congress authorized the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in the Energy Policy and Conservation Act to help prevent a repetition of the economic dislocation caused by the 1973-1974 Arab oil embargo. Biden, however, has decided to release some of the oil just to bring down the price of gasoline at the pump, as those high prices are hurting him politically. (Of course, this release has little impact on pump prices, but Biden is no doubt hoping that consumers will think he is doing something to help them.)

He has even taken to denouncing local retailers for not lowering their gasoline prices at the pump.

China is not the only destination for U.S. oil, as the Biden administration is releasing about a million barrels of oil per day from the SPR, which now has the least oil in reserve since 1986. The Department of Energy released a statement defending the releases, saying, “The SPR remains a critical energy security tool to address global crude oil supply disruptions.”

Before Biden took office, the United States had become independent of foreign sources of oil, the price of gasoline at the pump was around $2 per gallon, and the SPR was well-supplied. Now, however, under Biden’s policies designed to cut back on oil production, supposedly to combat “climate change,” oil prices have soared to over $100 a barrel, and gasoline prices at the pump have increased dramatically, to over $5 a gallon — and in some places in the United States, to over $6 a gallon.

The mainstream media, however, have chosen not to give much coverage to this aspect of the oil price story, particularly the sale of American oil to a firm wholly owned by the Chinese Communist Party. They continue to generally ignore stories related to Biden’s son, Hunter, and the connections Joe Biden has had with his son’s business dealings.

One can only imagine the media frenzy that would have ensued if one of President Donald Trump’s sons had had such dealings, i.e., if President Trump had told a foreign country that they were being cut off from a billion-dollar loan guarantee unless they fired their state prosecutor — a state prosecutor who was investigating a firm in which Trump’s son was involved as a director.

But American oil is not just being sent out of the country to China.

In addition to exports to Communist China, almost half a million barrels of U.S. oil have been sent by Phillips 66 to Trieste, Italy. From Trieste, a pipeline sends the oil to refineries in Europe. So, while Biden shuts down pipelines that could bring more oil to the United States and reduce prices here, American oil is being sent to pipelines in Europe to lower prices there. Europe is desperate for oil to make up for the loss of oil from Russia due to the war with Ukraine.

The inventory of U.S. crude is now at its lowest level in nearly 20 years. Despite Biden’s demagoguery against oil companies, and even local businesses selling gasoline, oil refineries are running near capacity.

It needs to be emphasized that this is a result of the deliberate policy choices of the Biden administration. They contend that oil and gas are making a major contribution to global warming, and have proudly said that they want to reduce the consumer use of oil and gas. Heavy regulations of the oil industry are intended to reduce the supply of oil. Basic economics teaches that if one decreases the supply of a product when there is no decrease in demand, the price will rise. Yet Biden, in demagogic fashion, blames oil companies and local retailers for the high prices that his policies have contributed to greatly.

Local retailers have a very slim profit margin from the sale of gasoline at the pump, and many convenience stores have gas pumps just to get customers into the stores to buy their other products. Biden knows all of this — unless he has forgotten it.

The solution is to return to the commonsense policies of the previous administration — policies that had made the United States energy independent.

Biden’s policies only make sense if the goal is to make America more dependent on foreign sources because he is not for American independence in oil or anything else.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Policies: A Danger to Jews and All Americans

And the threat extends to schoolchildren

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) offices, officers, policies, and programming are being increasingly embraced in American institutions, from government to the corporate workplace. This is particularly true in education, from leading American universities to elite prep schools. In fact, one sampling of leading American universities found DEI staff making up an average of 3.4 positions for every 100 tenured or tenure-track faculty members and outnumbering by a factor of at least four the staff dedicated to helping students with disabilities.

The ostensible goals of DEI are positive: to promote the representation, participation, and fair treatment of historically marginalized groups. In practice, though, DEI, which is closely linked to critical race theory (CRT), has been deployed to advance a radical agenda that undermines fundamental American values by promoting equality of outcome over equality of opportunity, collective identity (race, gender, etc.) over individual character, censorship of opposing viewpoints over freedom of speech, and a victim culture that crudely bifurcates society into oppressors and oppressed.

Along with embracing other favored radical causes, DEI is also being weaponized against Jewish students, maliciously portraying them and the Jewish State as wanton oppressors. Thus, with the expanding number and power of amply funded and staffed DEI offices that, rather than thwarting the rise of anti-Israel sentiment and restraining hostility toward Jews, actually contributing to it, American universities are becoming hotbeds of antisemitism.

The rise of antisemitism on college campuses is continuing and has already been well documented. A 2021 survey by Hillel and the ADL found that one in three Jewish college students personally experienced antisemitic hate in the previous academic year. Jewish students regularly have to contend with the demonization of Israel and its supporters, obscene Holocaust comparisons and minimization, negative stereotyping, and other common antisemitic tropes.

According to a December 2021 Heritage Foundation report, “Inclusion Delusion: The Antisemitism of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Staff at Universities,” which analyzed the Twitter feeds of hundreds of DEI university personnel, there is a disproportionate hostility toward Israel among university DEI staff. Malicious charges they have levied against Israel on Twitter include describing the Jewish State as an “apartheid” or “colonial” state and accusing Israel of engaging in “genocide” or “ethnic cleansing.”

Instead of creating a welcome and inclusive environment for Jewish students, who overwhelmingly feel a strong connection to Israel, DEI officials are engaged in anti-Israel demonization that promotes antisemitism and legitimizes Jew-hatred on campus.

In one particularly egregious illustration of this phenomenon, Yasmeen Mashayekh, a University of Southern California (USC) student senator for diversity, equity, and inclusion, tweeted in May 2021 that she wanted to “kill every motherf***ing Zionist.” Despite this and other hateful messages in which she expressed support for terrorism and the murder of Israelis, she has not been disciplined by USC and was able to retain her student senator DEI position.

The harm that DEI programming and personnel cause Jewish students isn’t limited to higher education. It even extends to schoolchildren. A Jewish parent, Jerome Eisenberg, is suing the prestigious private K-12 Brentwood School in Los Angeles for engaging in a DEI-driven “scheme to transform the school under a racially divisive, antisemitic ideology that seeks to indoctrinate children to reject Western values.”

In recent years, the curriculum at Brentwood has taken a radical, racially divisive turn after it was handed over to its “Office of Equity and Inclusion,” whose “staffing had increased ten-fold in a short period of time.” According to Eisenberg, “the school held racially segregated meetings and encouraged students to treat Jewish people as ‘oppressors’ and discriminated against a Jewish group of parents.” When he expressed his concerns about antisemitic discrimination, the school threatened to expel his 8th-grade daughter immediately and ultimately effectively did so when they denied her from returning the following school year.

It is deeply troubling that DEI personnel and programming, which is ostensibly committed to combatting bias and hate, is actively contributing to antisemitism in the American education system. As I have repeatedly warned, though, antisemitism is not just a Jewish problem – it is an American problem. DEI policies may disproportionately target and harm Jewish students, but the DEI agenda ultimately seeks to undermine and replace fundamental American values and replace it with its own radical vision. As we’ve seen before, what starts with elites quickly spreads to society as a whole. We must combat these ethically corrupted DEI efforts before they do more harm to Jewish students and ultimately all Americans.

In yet another sign that the inmates are running the asylum called the Biden administration, U.S. Army training documents say that women must shower with men, and men must shower with women.

In the name of “transgender” rights, of course. If a mentally-ill soldierette declares that she’s a man, then she can shower with the boys. If a mentally-ill soldier declares that he’s a woman, then the U.S. military’s lady contingent will get an eyeful.

The policy applies whether or not the “transgenders” have undergone “sex reassignment” surgery.

The latest from Tranny Joe’s cross-dressing circus comports with The New American’s earlier report on his “transgender service policy,” which is really a brainwashing program to convince American military personnel they can believe six contradictory things before breakfast.

The “transgender service policy,” as TNA reported in March, is explained in vignettes that show GIs how to react if they cross the trail of a mentally ill comrade who thinks he’s a woman.

The vignette uncovered by Breitbart, curiously, doesn’t deal with men showering with women, but instead with a woman showering with men. Perhaps the Army doesn’t want women to think it’s setting them up to be raped.

“The training slide offers a ‘vignette’ instructing soldiers on what to do if they encounter a female soldier who identifies as male according to the Department of Defense’s personnel tracking system known as Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS), but has not surgically transitioned and still has ‘female genitalia,” Breitbart reported.

The slide is titled “Soldier/Unit Training Barracks, Bathrooms, and Showers”:

Vignette: Following his transition from female to male (which did not include sex reassignment surgery) and gender marker change in DEERS, a transgender Soldier begins using male barracks, bathroom, and shower facilities. Because he did not undergo a surgical change, the Soldier still has female genitalia. …

“Soldiers must accept living and working conditions that are often austere, primitive, and characterized by little or no privacy. … Understand anyone may encounter individuals in barracks, bathrooms, or shower facilities with physical characteristics of the opposite sex despite having the same gender marker in DEERS.”

As well, “transgender Soldiers are not required or expected to modify or adjust their behavior based on the fact that they do not ‘match’ other Soldiers,” Breitbart reported.

And the sane military personnel who don’t go along: They’ll be disciplined.

Other Vignettes

Biden opened the military to sex deviants and the mentally-ill “transgenders” five days after he took office, and the “trangender service policy” was published shortly thereafter.

The “vignettes” surfaced in March.

The so-called vignettes, which explain how to handle transgender personnel, are meant to brainwash normal military personnel.

“Soldier who was assigned male at birth says he identifies as a female,” one such vignette begins:

Soldier lives as a female in his off-duty hours. He has no medical diagnosis, does not plan to seek medical treatment, and does not experience significant distress relating to his gender identity. Soldier is not requesting to be treated as a female while on duty.

Aside from treating the soldier with “dignity and respect,” military personnel must pretend he needs a new “gender identity,” not a discharge and psychiatric treatment:

If Soldier later requests to be identified as a female during duty hours and/or experiences increased distress relating to his gender identity, inform Soldier of the Army’s transgender policy and recommend that he see a military medical provider. Gender transition in the Army begins when a Soldier receives a diagnosis from a military medical provider indicating that gender transition is medically necessary.

Strangely, these vignettes used standard pronouns, not the myriad ridiculous words that “transgenders” have adopted to confuse anyone speaking to them.

War On Normalcy

Biden and his daft underlings have been waging war on decency and normality since before he took office when he picked a man who thinks he’s a woman to oversee the Defense Department’s transition.

After he took the oath, Biden picked a man who thinks he’s a woman as his No. 2 health official.

And in his latest assault on the sensibilities of normal Americans, he picked a sex deviant and child prostitution apologist to run the Energy Department nuclear waste disposal bureau.

In answer to the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling that removed federal protections for abortion, President Joe Biden has issued a limp-wristed yet costly rebuttal in his latest executive order. The document purports to protect “access to reproductive health care services” — a.k.a infanticide — despite the fact that Biden already admitted, “No executive action from the president can do that,” in his remarks following the SCOTUS decision to overturn Roe v Wade.

“Let me be very clear and unambiguous,” he read from the teleprompter that day. “The only way we can secure a woman’s right to choose and the balance that existed is for Congress to restore the protections of Roe v Wade as federal law.”

Too late. Senate Republicans already blocked an attempt by House Democrats to pass legislation enshrining the murder of the unborn. It was a replay of the similar routing of their deceitfully-named Women’s Health Protection Act in February.

Biden has obviously forgotten about those defeats, along with his party’s dismal prospects, when he points to the upcoming mid-terms as an antidote. “This fall, Roe is on the ballot,” he slurred in June. In remarks delivered after signing Friday’s order, he repeated the appeal with the rallying cry: “Vote, vote, vote, vote.” His confusion manifested further as he called the Supreme Court “out of control” and began reading teleprompter instructions out loud in the middle of his speech.

Despite his bewilderment, the reality of today’s political climate casts a “shameless pandering” hue on today’s executive order. Even leftists admit it has no teeth. The Associated Press quoted Georgetown University law professor Lawrence Gostin, who described the order as “underwhelming” and said, “There’s nothing that I saw that would affect the lives of ordinary poor women living in red states.”

Regardless, it will certainly impact taxpayers who will be footing the bill for each measure Biden has concocted. His executive order is packed with the same baseless, hyperbolic accusations that Attorney General Merrick Garland pitched in his June 24 statement complaining about the SCOTUS ruling. “Women who reside in states that have banned access to comprehensive reproductive care must remain free to seek that care in states where it is legal,” he wrote as if SCOTUS had closed all state borders. Further suggesting that the nation’s high bench had also bound and gagged the masses, he added that “individuals must remain free to inform and counsel each other about the reproductive care that is available in other states.”

Similar exaggerations and insinuations appear throughout today’s executive order and are used as excuses for the administration to commandeer tax dollars for its murderous agenda. Here are some highlights:

• The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will be expanding access to “medication abortion,” otherwise known as Mifepristone or the “abortion pill.” According to American Life League, it starves an unborn baby to death and causes a woman to abort spontaneously. The abortion pill is banned in several states since the SCOTUS ruling but is still widely available, even through mail order. Aren’t pharmaceutical companies, courtesy of Uncle Sam, already fleecing the American taxpayer enough without using baby-killing as yet another pretext?

• That’s not the only waste of taxpayer dollars the president is ordering. He also directs HHS to expand access to contraception. Why? The recent SCOTUS ruling does nothing to limit that.

• The agency is also supposed to uphold federal law to ensure pregnant women have “access to the full rights and protections for emergency medical care afforded under law,” (they don’t already have that?) and to beef up federal encroachments on healthcare under the guise of protecting patient privacy (as if HIPAA weren’t already bad enough). Moreover, HHS will be launching abortion “access” advertising campaigns (without a word about life-enhancing abstinence programs or adoption alternatives).

• Biden gratuitously assumes a “heightened risk” to those “seeking and providing” abortions — risk from bloodthirsty pro-life activists, no doubt — and in disturbingly vague language pledges to “ensure” and “protect” their safety. The administration will additionally offer “volunteer” legal assistance to help patients and providers circumvent state restrictions. Who will foot these additional bills? The American taxpayer, of course.

Underscoring each of these measures, the president’s executive order also establishes an interagency task force made up of the HHS, the attorney general, and the White House Gender Policy Council. Biden set up the latter in March of 2021 so bureaucrats could hire more bureaucrats to “face the current crisis” of “gender inequality” in the “United States and globally.” Again, your tax dollars at work!

Nothing in Biden’s executive order is authorized by the Constitution, yet he sanctimoniously defends himself, claiming that SCOTUS eliminated a woman’s so-called constitutional “right to choose” to kill her unborn offspring. The White House declares that restricting access to what leftists Orwellingly refer to as “reproductive health care” will deny “fundamental rights — to privacy, autonomy, freedom, and equality.” The president did not attempt to reconcile his administration’s self-righteous indignation with its federal mandates for Covid vaccines.

Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh dropped by Morton’s Steakhouse in downtown Washington, D.C., for dinner Wednesday night, but it didn’t turn out to be a pleasant evening: Kavanaugh was spotted, Leftist protesters appeared, and the justice had to leave through the back door. A Morton’s representative then issued a statement saying that politics shouldn’t intrude on one’s “right to eat dinner,” and for Leftist Twitter, it was off to the races. “The right to eat dinner”? Why, that isn’t in the Constitution, and therefore does not exist!

Politico was likewise cheered at the prospect of Leftist thugs forcing Kavanaugh to flee Morton’s, heading its notice of the incident “Happy Friday” and adding: “Thanks for reading Playbook. Drop us a line with your best constitutional argument for the right to eat dinner.” Politico then provided email addresses for three of its “journalists”: Rachael Bade, Eugene Daniels, and Ryan Lizza.

The “constitutional argument for the right to eat dinner” business comes from Morton’s response to the incident, which began, Politico said, when “D.C. protesters targeting the conservative Supreme Court justices who signed onto the Dobbs decision overturning the constitutional right to abortion got a tip that Justice Brett Kavanaugh was dining at Morton’s downtown D.C. location. Protesters soon showed up out front, called the manager to tell him to kick Kavanaugh out, and later tweeted that the justice was forced to exit through the rear of the restaurant.” Note the manipulative wording: Politico assumes that there is a “constitutional right to abortion” that was overturned when there never actually was such a right, and the claim that there was never had any justification in the Constitution at all. This is how the Leftist media attempts to control the narrative.

Politico went farther than that, sneering at Kavanaugh despite the fact that he was the victim of the incident. If Sonia Sotomayor had been the Justice who was thus harassed, would Politico’s coverage have been different? Like night and day. But in this case, Politico continued, “Daniel Lippman looked into the incident for us and confirmed that account. While the court had no official comment on Kavanaugh’s behalf and a person familiar with the situation said he did not hear or see the protesters and ate a full meal but left before dessert, Morton’s was outraged about the incident.” And here is where the real fun began: “A rep for the chain steakhouse sent Lippman this statement: ‘Honorable Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh and all of our other patrons at the restaurant were unduly harassed by unruly protestors while eating dinner at our Morton’s restaurant. Politics, regardless of your side or views, should not trample the freedom at play of the right to congregate and eat dinner. There is a time and place for everything. Disturbing the dinner of all of our customers was an act of selfishness and void of decency.”

Was the Morton’s rep making a statement about constitutional rights? Of course not. He or she was making a statement about common decency, a virtue that is in alarmingly short supply among Leftists. But in using the word “right” in connection with Kavanaugh’s natural right to enjoy a meal in peace, Morton’s rep gave Leftist commentators what they thought was an opening. MSNBC’s Katie S. Phang tweeted: “‘The right to eat dinner.’ Sounds like a privacy right not identified or listed in the Constitution so therefore, it doesn’t exist.” Another Leftist “journalist,” Judd Legum, tweeted an implicit call for boycotts of restaurants that had the temerity to let conservatives eat: “.@Mortons is owned by billionaire @TilmanJFertitta Fertitta also owns @RainForest_Cafe, @McandSchmicks, @BubbaGumpCo, and numerous other chains.” If such boycotts materialize, that would be just fine with the fascists of ShutDownDC, who tweeted: “We hear Kavanaugh snuck out the back with his security detail. @mortons should be ashamed for welcoming a man who so clearly hates women.”

The reactions from Politico and the Leftist journalists, and numerous other Leftists on Twitter, show that the Left is embracing totalitarianism at a rapid clip and that all too many Leftists are just fine with the idea that if you hold political opinions that they deem unacceptable, you should be harassed and hounded anywhere and everywhere, presumably until you’re simply too exhausted to continue to dissent from their agenda. “Inside every progressive,” ex-progressive David Horowitz has said, “is a totalitarian screaming to get out.” They’re out, they’re out.

An Unsecured Border Is a Mortal and Moral Hazard~Human trafficking, minors crossing illegally in record numbers, and tragic deaths

It happened outside Brackettville, Texas, which sits about halfway between Uvalde and the border crossing at Del Rio.

This was a shooting you probably did not hear about — in part, thankfully, because no one was hurt.

A U.S. Border Patrol agent was on a road that runs out of Brackettville when he saw a Chevrolet Suburban heading north. It was just before 10:00 a.m. on Jan. 3, 2021.

"The USBP agent activated his overhead lights to initiate a vehicle stop on the SUV in order to conduct an immigration inspection," said a criminal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.

"A high-speed pursuit ensued as the SUV attempted to abscond from USBP agents," the complaint alleged. "During the course of the pursuit, multiple shots were fired at the USBP agents who were attempting to stop the vehicle. The vehicle traveled at a high rate of speed, in excess of 100 MPH for approximately twenty-eight minutes before law enforcement officers were able to successfully deploy spike strips, bringing the vehicle to a stop."

"USBP agents apprehended six (6) Honduran nationals who were illegally present in the United States without proper documentation," alleged the complaint.

The driver of the vehicle was also illegally in the United States. He was, alleged the complaint, "Sergio Trevino, a Mexican national and illegal alien, who initially absconded from the SUV, but was later apprehended."

"Sergio Trevino admitted his involvement in the failed alien smuggling event by stating he was hired by a friend in Houston, Texas to knowingly and willingly transport IAs further into the United States," alleged the complaint. "Trevino stated he was going to be paid approximately $2,000.00 USD for transporting the IAs.

"Trevino also admitted that he used the firearm and fired multiple shots from the moving vehicle, at law enforcement agents, as agents attempted to conduct the immigration inspection," the complaint alleged.

On June 15, Immigration and Customs Enforcement released a statement about the resolution of the Trevino case.

"A Mexican citizen was sentenced to more than 17 years in federal prison for shooting at two U.S. Border Patrol agents near Brackettville," said ICE.

"On June 10, Sergio Trevino, 35, was sentenced to 214 months in prison," it said. "On March 31, 2021, Trevino pleaded guilty to one count of assault on a federal officer and one count of using a firearm during a crime of violence. Trevino was sentenced to 94 months in prison on the assault charge and 120 months on the use of a firearm charge with both sentences to run consecutively."

Ashley Hoff, the U.S. attorney for the Western District of Texas, summarized the situation.

"Sergio Trevino not only placed the lives of the U.S. Border Patrol agents who were attempting to apprehend him in peril but also the lives of the undocumented noncitizens he was transporting and everyone traveling on the road that day," she said.

"Thankfully," she said, "no one was seriously injured by his senseless and dangerous actions."

A similar expression of relief cannot be made concerning the profoundly tragic events that soon unfolded in the same part of Texas for the same reason: an unsecured border.

Less than two weeks after U.S. Attorney Hoff issued her statement about the resolution of the Brackettville incident, San Antonio police officers called Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) to join them at the scene of a crime.

"San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) officers advised HSI special agents as they arrived at the location of the tractor-trailer in southwest San Antonio after receiving 911 calls from concerned citizens," said a statement released by ICE. "At the scene, SAPD officers discovered multiple individuals inside the tractor-trailer, on the ground, and in nearby brush — many of them deceased and some incapacitated."

"HSI confirmed that 48 individuals at the scene were deceased," the office of the U.S. attorney for the Western District of Texas reported two days later.

"Of those 22 were Mexican nationals, seven Guatemalan nationals, two Honduran nationals, and 17 of unknown origin but suspected to be undocumented non-citizens," said the U.S. attorney's office.

"HSI confirmed the undocumented status of the deceased individuals by utilizing a mobile fingerprint device," said the U.S. attorney's statement. "Sixteen of the 64 undocumented individuals were transported to local hospitals for medical evaluation. Five died at the hospital."

The next day, the Houston Chronicle carried a story headlined: "Minors migrating in record numbers."

"The four kids reported to have been hospitalized after being found in a packed, overheated tractor-trailer in San Antonio on Monday are among the growing number of children and teens making the perilous journey to the United States," the Chronicle reported.

"Bexar County officials have also told media that some of the 53 who died from the incident may be under 18," said the paper.

"The number of unaccompanied children and teens apprehended at the border has increased 17-fold since 2008, according to a new Syracuse University analysis of U.S. Customs and Border Protection data," the Chronicle reported.

In fact, the Syracuse analysis shows that in fiscal 2008, the Border Patrol apprehended 8,081 unaccompanied children (17 or younger). That rose to 76,136 in fiscal 2019, before the COVID pandemic hit. Then it dropped to 19,657 in fiscal 2020, in the midst of the pandemic and President Donald Trump's last full year in office.

In fiscal 2021, when President Joe Biden took office, it jumped to 140,230 — a one-year climb of more than 600%.

This column argued eight years ago that our unsecured southern border was like an unfenced swimming pool — a mortal hazard for would-be illegal crossers and a moral hazard for those who refused to secure it.

That June, a 15-year-old boy from Guatemala was found dead in the Rio Grande Valley. "He apparently got lost on his way north and likely died from exposure in the hot, dry brush country of South Texas," the Associated Press reported then.

(Natural News) The location information of Google users who visit abortion clinics or other abortion-related facilities will now be purged from existence after the search engine giant announced special new protections for baby murderers in response to the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Because of the potential legal problems involved with getting an abortion in many areas of the country where it is now illegal, Google decided to update its privacy policy to automatically delete any incriminating information that might expose users who attempt to get an illegal abortion.

Google still plans to spy on conservatives, of course, as the new policy primarily applies to “pro-choice” users, as well as people who visit fertility centers and weight loss clinics.

“We’re committed to delivering robust privacy protections for people who use our products, and we will continue to look for new ways to strengthen and improve these protections,” announced Jen Fitzpatrick, a Google senior vice president, in a blog post.

Google will only protect your privacy if you want to get an illegal abortion

As you may recall, Google has faced intense public scrutiny over the past several years concerning its flagrant violations of user privacy. Many have criticized the tech giant for operating fast and loose with user activity, only to have the company balk at these concerns.

However, now that abortion is illegal or highly restricted in about half the country, Google is suddenly concerned about user privacy – but only those users who still want to murder their unborn babies against the law and not be tracked.

“The calls for more stringent privacy controls were triggered by the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision overturning the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that legalized abortion,” reported the Associated Press (AP).

“That reversal could lead to increased protections for infants in more than a dozen states, raising the specter that records about people’s location, texts, searches, and emails could be used in prosecutions against abortion procedures.”

Every year, Google receives thousands of requests from the government for its users’ digital records. The government claims that it is investigating “misconduct,” and Google happily hands over that information even though doing so may constitute illicit spying.

The Roe v. Wade decision prompted Google to finally do something about these privacy breaches, but only to protect pro-abortionists who use Google’s services – everyone else will still be spied on indiscriminately.

“Google uses your data for its own purposes and sells you and your data to make money,” wrote a commenter at Headline USA.

“Google is the spy in your office, your home, or when you are on the road. Purge Google and use Brave or any other search engine that protects you.”

Another pointed out that Fitzpatrick’s statement is disingenuous because the FBI, CIA, or NSA can still siphon data in order to frame their targets.

“This nation deserves anything and everything it gets from anyone,” this person added.

Someone else commented that Google’s new selective information purging protocols constitute censorship racketeering and that this is ripe for a lawsuit.

“The real question here is why is Google collecting this information in the first place?” wrote another.

“They have no legitimate need for it, no business purpose behind its collection and probable retention, just the ability to change their stance, or worse yet, to say one thing and do the other in selling or otherwise distributing this information.”

Others pointed out that abortion seekers probably would not be prosecuted anyway, and that only the illegal providers would be at risk.

“Help wanted” and “now hiring” signs are everywhere. Flights, construction projects, and healthcare services are delayed – or unavailable – due to labor shortages.

Hourly and monthly wages spiral. There is a growing disequilibrium between the number of available jobs and the declining pool of workers needed to fill them.

What is going on?

During the nearly two-year-long COVID-19 shutdown and economic downturn, firms cut costs by laying off millions of employees.

As a result, some in their early- or mid-60s simply retired early and never came back to work.

Federal and state governments also vastly expanded financial support to the unemployed. Other workers figured they would not make all that much more by working and so are staying home on government checks.

Still other former full-time employees became used to the new, more leisurely lifestyle and are loath to return to a full 40-hour work week.

Employers also are now convinced that a hard recession is on the early 2023 horizon when the trillions of dollars of newly printed money run out. Many are willing to put up with worker shortages now, rather than hire too many employees only to have them idle when consumer demand soon crashes.

Still other workers fear yet another COVID pandemic and are not eager to return to daily contact with the public.

The government has no idea how some Americans remain sick with the mysterious “long COVID” chronic aftermath of the infectious phase of the disease.

Well over 100 million Americans have likely had COVID. An estimated 10-30 percent do not recover for months — or even years.

So, millions of COVID long haulers remain either unable to work or can only work part-time.

Yet no one yet has fully calibrated the effect of newly disabled millions on the American economy.

Add up all these dark clouds and America is experiencing a perfect storm, in which only 61% of the able workforce is currently officially employed.

Unfortunately, there are also even longer-term, structural labor problems for the U.S. economy that make it unlikely that a new larger generation of workers will soon surge into the labor force. And for now, Silicon Valley has not produced its long-promised artificially intelligent robots that would allow machines to do much of the work of people.

True, there are more potential parents than ever before. And the American population has soared to over 330 million.

But our population is radically leveling off.

In just 14 years the fertility rate has crashed from 2.12 to 1.64 — meaning that both citizens and resident aliens in America are not replacing themselves.

While past demographic momentum has led to an all-time population high, the United States has already peaked demographically. And it will soon shrink and further age.

Thirty years ago, America had 80 million fewer people, but a quarter-million more annual births.

What explains the disappearing American?

Historically, as Westernized cultures become more affluent and leisured, whether it’s ancient Rome or modern America and Europe, they birth fewer children — even as their appetites for more household and personal help spike.

Life apparently is seen as too enjoyable to invest years in raising children. Americans are certainly marrying later. They are having fewer children — and in their 30s rather than 20s.

Women now make up nearly 60% of undergraduate college students. Female professional careers and delaying or avoiding birth are seen as essential to future family incomes.

Given that men who pass on college now account for 70% of enrollment declines in undergraduate education, there are far too few college-educated males for the new majority cohort of college-educated women.

The real gender crisis in America are these listless and stalled 20-something men. Too many are still living at home, not fully employed, often in debt, hooked on social media, video games, or satisfying their appetites — and with scant interest in marrying, much less raising children.

Figures on annual abortions remain hotly disputed. But the number of annual reported abortions still ranges somewhere from more than 600,000 to just under 900,000.

There may be almost 20 abortions for every 100 American pregnancies — or one in five pregnancies that are terminated.

Our popular culture reflects this multifarious growing reluctance to raise children. And currently, only 65% of children grow up in families with both parents.

The 2012 Obamacare ad, “The Life of Julia,” fixated on the new ideal American woman: a single parent of one child, unmarried, and utterly reliant on nearly 65 years of government support.

The 2013 follow-up bookend ad fetishized “Pajama Boy.” He was supposed to be a typical prolonged-adolescent, man-child — sitting at home in his child-like footie pajamas, sipping hot chocolate.

“Pajama Boy” was likely the sort that “Julia” had no intention of marrying.

There are historical downsides — economic, cultural, social, and military — to nations that shun child-raising.

They shrink in size, and age, no longer believe in transcendence, become mostly agnostic or atheistic, and obsess with the self.

And sometimes they eventually become dysfunctional — and slowly disappear.
