NYC: Muslim migrant screaming ‘I’m gonna kill all the Jews’ tries to run down Jewish students

The cops say it’s not terror-related, thereby demonstrating that they have no idea what Islamic terror really is. One doesn’t have to have an ISIS membership card in order to carry out an act of jihad. They’re also saying he is mentally ill. In other words, all the usual excuses are being trotted out.

“Maniac screams ‘I’m gonna kill all the Jews’ as he tries to run down students outside NYC Jewish school in antisemitic hate attack,” by Joe Marino, Reuven Fenton, Desheania Andrews and Amanda Woods, New York Post, May 29, 2024 (thanks to Andrew Bostom:

A maniac tried to mow down Orthodox students and a rabbi outside a Brooklyn Jewish school Wednesday while allegedly yelling “I’m gonna kill all the Jews” in a shocking anti-Semitic attack, sources told The Post.

Video footage supplied by the Flatbush Shomrim Safety Patrol shows the crazed driver revving his engine and mounting the curb as he swerved toward Orthodox Jews milling around a Yeshiva in Canarsie at about 11:25 a.m.

Police and sources identified the alleged attacker as 58-year-old Asghar Ali, a Pakistani immigrant livery cab driver with a history of mental illness.

The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the case, and detectives were interviewing the driver Wednesday night.

The Brooklyn man faces more than a dozen charges, including attempted murder, attempted assault and hate crime charges.

Cops do not believe the attack was terror-related and on Wednesday night did not have evidence he was tied to radical groups online, according to sources.

The man was driving a 2011 white Crown Victoria and making a turn onto East 55th Street in front of the Mesivta Nachlas Yakov School when he suddenly veered toward students dressed in Orthodox garb, according to the NYPD and video footage.

He then drove around the block and back toward the school – this time targeting two more students standing outside and a rabbi.

“I’m gonna kill all the Jews,” the driver allegedly seethed, according to police.

The victim managed to run into a building that also had as dorms before being hit, the clip shows…

Islamic preachers disseminate hateful messages about Israel and Jews, driving further antisemitism surge

SEE: https://www.jihadwatch.org/2024/05/islamic-preachers-disseminate-hateful-messages-about-israel-and-jews-driving-further-antisemitism-surge; republished below in full, unedited, for informational,educational,& research purposes;

There are influential Islamic hate preachers who are driving anti-semitism to heights never seen since the Holocaust.

“Islamic Preachers in the U.S. Escalate Antisemitic Rhetoric Amid Gaza War, Campus Protests,” by Ethan Kaufman, Algemeiner, May 13, 2024:

Several Islamic preachers and other authority figures in the US have been leveraging their positions in recent weeks to disseminate hateful messages about Israel and the Jewish people, contributing to a global surge in antisemitism that has reached record levels since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war.

Certain imams at mosques across the country have used their platforms to deliver sermons in which they pushed antisemitic conspiracies about Jews and promote false claims about Israel’s conduct in Gaza, the Palestinian enclave ruled by Hamas, and elsewhere, according to research by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

October 7 allowed for the Palestinian jihad “resistance” against Israel to be pushed throughout the West via systems that were already set in place. Take, for example, mosques. It was documented many times after 9/11 that many American mosques were radicalized. That’s because normative Islam is governed by the Sharia, which is contrary to human rights and to the laws of free societies. Then there are the Muslim Student Associations and Palestinian Solidarity Networks, which are well established on campuses. The expansive network of groups that were listed as unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation's Hamas funding trial was also operational throughout America, with many establishing offshoots in Canada.

The Palestinian “resistance” has been infiltrating America, Canada and other Western countries for decades. Many pro-Hamas demonstrators are now heard chantingGlobalize the intifada.” Anyone who warned prior to October 7 about the dangers of stealth and violent jihad was smeared as an “Islamophobes” on the fringes, despite the evidence." The “Islamophobia” subterfuge was and is a stratagem intended to shut down criticisms of Islam and buy time while systems were put in place to bring about what we see on campuses today. Now, anti-Israel, pro-Hamas protests have gripped America and other Western countries, along with the emboldening of hate preachers in influential mosques. Islamic supremacists and jihadists are emboldened in America and everywhere. In Germany, over 1000 Muslims screaming “Allahu Akbar” demanded a caliphate in a “demonstration of power.”

With hate preachers to incite and instigate further, the Palestinian “resistance” will continue to grow, unless it is stymied by laws to restore law and order.  This “resistance” is actually rooted in the Islamic imperative for conquest, which is the root of the goal to obliterate Israel from the River to the Sea. This is why the Organization of Islamic Cooperation supports the Palestinian cause.

Jeffrey A. Rosen, former Deputy Attorney General of the United States, stated at an antisemitism conference in 2020:

The United States Department of Justice stands firmly and unequivocally against anti-Semitism.  We will not hesitate to take action where anti-Semitic conduct rises to the level of a federal crime.  This is as true online as it is offline.  We have no tolerance for that behavior and will continue to prosecute such conduct as appropriate.  Most importantly, we will continue to uphold the rule of law for all Americans.

If there ever was a time for a Justice Department investigation and action, it is now. Except for the fact that the DOJ has serious corruption issues, as well as the specter of antisemitism lurking within. See HERE.

So despite the show, according to Fox News, the DOJ has not launched any investigation into antisemitic protests, let alone investigations — and charges which may be supported by law — of these influential Islamic hate preachers. The DOJ is too busy hounding Donald Trump to bother. Unless these anti-Semitic Islamic preachers are stopped in their tracks, they will continue to incite hatred, rage and threats of violence on campuses and and beyond.

Hamas Top Dog Antony Blinken Sends a Stern Demand to Israel

Will anyone ask Blinken to explain himself?

SEE: https://www.frontpagemag.com/hamas-top-dog-antony-blinken-sends-a-stern-demand-to-israel; republished below in full, unedited, for informational, educational, & research purposes:

[Order a copy of Robert Spencer’s forthcoming book, "Muhammad: A Critical Biographyby clicking here.]

I hate to say “I told you so” — well, no, actually I don’t mind saying it at all. On May 8, I wrote:

“Yes, we’re on Hamas’s side now. It’s as official as it can get without Old Joe Biden asking Congress for a declaration of war against Israel: the Biden regime has thrown the weight of the United States government behind the effort to save Hamas.”

If you thought that was hyperbole or hysteria, consider the fact that on Sunday, senior Biden regime apparatchik Antony Blinken made it unmistakable, issuing a demand to Israel that could have been spoken by Hamas top dog Ismail Haniyeh: “Get out of Gaza.”

The Washington Free Beacon reported that Blinken was not content to slam Israel’s defensive war against Hamas and demand that the Israelis “get out of Gaza”; he also accused the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) of “violating international humanitarian law.” If you think that this isn’t the kind of language that the U.S. government has used with allies in the past, you’re right.

Blinken did couch his investigation of Israel in terms that made it seem as if it was just a bit of friendly advice about how best to conduct the war effort as if the secretary of state during the U.S.’s catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021 would know anything about it, but it was an investigation nevertheless.

Blinken warned that “an Israeli military operation in Rafah” might have some “initial success,” but he said that the Israelis would not be able to sustain that success and would end up “holding the bag on an enduring insurgency.” The secretary of state in this era of America’s national humiliation explained that this was “because a lot of armed Hamas will be left, no matter what [the Israelis] do in Rafah, or if they leave and get out of Gaza, as we believe they need to do. Then you’re going to have a vacuum and a vacuum that’s likely to be filled by chaos, by anarchy, and ultimately by Hamas again.”

And so the alternative that the State Department is offering to Israel is to refrain from entering Rafah. This would allow Hamas to regroup there and strike Israeli civilians again, as its leaders have vowed to do. The Israelis reject this because they have declared that their goal is the complete destruction of Hamas. All Blinken is offering in response is defeatism, a claim that the Israelis won’t be able to destroy Hamas completely, so they shouldn’t even try.

There is no reason why this must be so. There were numerous predictions in 1945 that National Socialism (that’s what “Nazism” means, folks) would continue as an insurgency in the ashes of Germany, but no one was saying that the Allies shouldn’t enter Berlin and end the war anyway. There was indeed a small-scale insurgency after the fall of Berlin and the end of the war, but it was overcome. As long as there are believers in Islam in Gaza, there will be jihadis, but the organized and persistent jihad force the Israelis have faced in Gaza since 2005 hasn’t always existed and need not exist forever.

Blinken’s warning is of a kind that is usually issued by one’s foes in a war, not by one’s friends. And the hard-left apparatchik made it even worse: Blinken added that “it was reasonable to assess that, in certain instances, Israel acted in ways that are not consistent with international humanitarian law.”

Blinken’s timing couldn’t have been worse. The UN cut in half the number of women and children it claims that the Israelis have killed in Gaza — figures that anyone could have seen were unreliable in the first place, since they came from the Gaza Health Ministry, which Hamas runs. There is no serious case that Israel has violated international law; if there were, it would already have been made in the International Criminal Court when Israel had to defend itself against bogus charges of “genocide.”

So why is the Biden regime so anxious to prevent Israeli forces from going into Rafah? Are you afraid of what the IDF might find there? Has the U.S. support for Hamas not been confined solely to “humanitarian aid” to Gaza? The immense anxiety in the White House over this military operation is, to use a word that the media likes to use of Israel, “disproportionate.”

It’s too bad we only have leftist propagandists and not journalists in this country anymore. Someone should ask Blinken to explain himself. But no one will.

Columbia University Custodian Defends Academic Building From Anti-Israel Mob

SEE: https://www.jihadwatch.org/2024/05/columbia-university-custodian-defends-academic-building-from-anti-israel-mob; republished below in full, unedited, for informational, educational, & research purposes:

Mario Torres is a custodian at Columbia who tried to stop anti-Israel protesters from taking over Hamilton Hall, where he worked. A photograph of Torres pushing a “student” demonstrator up against a wall has gone viral; that “student” turned out to be a 40-year-old rich kid with no connection to Columbia. More on the custodians and the mob getting in the way of his work can be found here: “Exclusive: Columbia Custodian Trapped by ‘Angry Mob’ Speaks Out,” by Francesca Block, The Free Press, May 6, 2024:

This viral image captured the clash between anti-Israel protesters who stormed Columbia and campus workers who tried to stop them. As the mob invaded Hamilton Hall in the early hours of April 30, a facility worker was photographed pushing a demonstrator against a wall.

Later, it emerged that the protester was a 40-year-old trust fund kid named James Carlson, who owns a townhouse in Brooklyn worth $2.3 million. The man who tried to hold him back was Mario Torres, 45, who has worked at Columbia—where the average janitor makes less than $19 an hour—for five years.

Now, in an exclusive interview with The Free Press, Mario Torres describes the experience of being on duty as protesters stormed the building in the early hours of the morning, breaking glass and barricading the entrances. “We don’t expect to go to work and get swarmed by an angry mob with rope and duct tape and masks and gloves,” he said.

“They came from both sides of the staircases. They came through the elevators and they were just rushing. It was just like they had a plan.” Mario said protesters with zip ties, duct tape, and masks “just multiplied and multiplied.”

At one point, he remembers “looking up and I noticed the cameras are covered.” It made him think: “This was definitely planned.”

There was nothing spontaneous about the takeover of Hamilton Hall. The pro-Hamas demonstrators came prepared with zip ties and duct tape to be used on any employees in the building attempting to prevent their assault, and with masks to hide their identity, and just to make sure they would not be identified, they had quickly managed to cover all the CCTV cameras in the building.

Torres was trying to “protect the building” when he ended up in an altercation with Carlson: “He had a Columbia hoodie on, and I managed to rip that hoodie off of him and expose his face.” (Carlson was later charged with five felonies, including burglary and reckless endangerment.) “I was freaking out. At that point, I was thinking about my family. How was I gonna get out? Through the window?”…

About half of the demonstrators at Columbia who have so far been arrested have turned out not to be Columbia students at all, but outside agitators, determined to swell the ranks of the mob in Morningside Heights. Torres managed to push one of the protesters against the wall and pulled away his face-concealing hoodie. That “student” was discovered to be James Carlson, 40-years-old man who had nothing to do with Columbia, but was eager to participate in any anti-Israel pro-Hamas demonstration that might be in progress. Torres wasn’t having any of the disruption. He wanted to do his job as custodian. Having pushed back against the mob, he now worries about whether, for opposing the law-breakers and defending Hamilton Hall, he might be in trouble with the pusillanimous administrators who had been so reluctant to arrest the demonstrators holding the building hostage.

Mario Torres should be asked to appear on news programs such as the “Hero of Hamilton Hall,” a Hispanic male version of Barbara Frietchie, protecting university property from the frenzied hate-animated mob. He needn’t worry about losing his job; Columbia’s trustees and alumni, and the wider public, too, wouldn’t stand for it. In fact, he’s due for a raise, for defending his building against those who, according to plan, smashed its windows and doors, and were preparing to do even more damage once inside. Fortunately, the Columbia administration finally called in the NYPD, which cleared Hamilton Hall in a five-hour operation. The cost to the NYPD was $200,000, One hopes that the City of New York will be able to recover that amount from fines leveled on hundreds of demonstrators.

Well-Orchestrated, Organized & Violent Anti-Jewish Fervor, Is Now Unmistakable In Every Corner Of Our Nation

YouTube video player

A long-time friend, currently living in the LA area, called yesterday expressing concern for the physical safety of himself and family.

He is Jewish, and like most of my Jewish friends, not particularly religious. Only rarely does he (at least marginally) observe Jewish holidays. In fact, in our conversations, he often expresses cynical skepticism concerning all religions.

However, he is understandably concerned about the current, well-orchestrated, well-organized, violent anti-Jewish fervor, which is now unmistakable in every corner of our nation, and by no means confined to college campuses!

An aside:

I don’t like, nor do I use, to term, “anti-Semitic.”

It comes from “Shem,” the first son of Noah of the Old Testament Flood Story. One of Shem’s ascendants was Abram, who was re-named Abraham. One of Abraham’s ascendants was Judah, the fourth son of Jacob (Jacob was later re-named “Israel”), from whom the term “Jew” originates.

The first time we heard the term “Jew” in the Old Testament, the State of Judah (southern kingdom) is at war with its former brethren (northern kingdom), now the State of Samaria. The two family groups suffered an unpleasant territorial break-up around 930 BC and thereafter were not on speaking terms.

The point is that modern-day Jews can thus surely claim to be “Semitic,” but Shem had many children and grandchildren, so every other ascendant of Shem, including most Arabs and many Europeans (probably including me), can make the identical claim.

Hence, today, the term “Semitic” is so non-specific as to be meaningless, much like the term ”Gentile,” which loosely translates to: “… not related to anyone in particular”.

“Anti-Jewish” more precisely describes the violent hatred embraced by Nazis in the 1930s, and what is rearing its ugly head once again, now in the USA, and is promoted by the same people!

Back to my story:

My Jewish friend forwarded me a letter (email) he received yesterday from a Jewish academic organization listing several “precautions” American Jews should be taking these days.

Most are related to lowering your personal profile.

It’s all sound advice, of course, but the admonishment to “go armed” was conspicuously absent from the list—a glaring omission I pointed out!

I continued that the pernicious malady of “Learned Helplessness” seems to infect the entire Jewish community here in America universally and in Europe!?

“Learned Helplessness” is when a person repeatedly faces stressful situations but makes no effort to exercise control, even when means of control are available.

Many Jews, it seems, have institutionally convinced themselves that they are forever helpless victims and thus stubbornly refuse to change their circumstances, even when change is possible.

My friend, of course (being one of my students) does not fit that mold, does go armed, and even has “weapons of war” at his disposal. In the same way, all my Jewish students audaciously reject “Learned Helplessness,” but many among their brethren continue to obstinately cling to it, despite what they know of world history and what they plainly see happening abound them now!

Just as took place in Germany in the 1930s, leftist politicians in America (particularly in CA) have created conditions that favor violent criminals, simultaneously punishing/hobbling good and decent citizens, with whom leftists (themselves being neither good, nor decent) feel no connection.

Wolves are being subsidized. Sheep are on their own!

We’re presently witnessing “Learned Helplessness,” in action. Self-declared sheep needn’t imagine they’ll die of old age!

It is time for Jews, who have deliberately imposed “sheepdom” upon themselves, to wake up. Sheep face a bleak future!

A Palestinian Visits Auschwitz, Tells Jews ‘You Belong Here’

SEE: https://www.jihadwatch.org/2024/05/a-palestinian-visits-auschwitz-tells-jews-you-belong-here; republished below in full, unedited, for informational, educational, & research purposes:

The first Palestinian to have visited a Nazi concentration camp was the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Hajj Amin el Husseini, the leader of the Palestinian Arabs from the 1920s to the 1940s, who spent the war years in Berlin. He had a nice chat with Hitler on November 28, 1941, captured in a famous photograph here. Al-Husseini expressed to Hitler his enthusiasm for the Final Solution. He was befriended by Heinrich Himmler, and there is some evidence, not conclusive, that the Mufti may have been taken to Auschwitz by Himmler, or possibly by another person he had befriended, Adolf Eichmann, to see how swimmingly things were proceeding there. It is certain that the Mufti visited the concentration camp at Tebbin, for there are numerous photographs of him at the site together with high Nazi officials, as can be seen here.

As his contribution to the Nazi war effort, Hajj Amin el Husseini is known to have raised several Waffen SS battalions consisting of Bosnian Muslims. He also broadcast pro-Nazi propaganda to the Arab world throughout the war.

In January 2020, in quite a different spirit to that exhibited by the Mufti, a group of 25 Muslim faith leaders visited Auschwitz, in what was at the time called a “groundbreaking” visit. “To be here… is both a sacred duty and a profound honor,” the Saudi head of the Muslim World League said during a tour of Nazi death camp with members of the American Jewish Committee.

Now another Palestinian has just been in the news for his visit to Auschwitz, not undertaken in the spirit of sympathy for the victims that the delegation of Muslim faith leaders exhibited but, rather, in a triumphant mode, demanding that Jews everywhere “return” to where they belong — that is, to the Nazi death camps. Robert Spencer wrote about this briefly here, and more on this latest example of a Palestinian expressing murderous antisemitism that can be found here: “Palestinian man visits Auschwitz, publicly calls on Jews to return there ‘where they belong,'” Jerusalem Post, May 2, 2024:

A video was posted on X earlier this week that showed footage of a Palestinian man visiting the Auschwitz-Birkenau Holocaust Memorial Museum, where he called on Jews to return to the site of the extermination camp, a place he claimed where they belonged.

Footage of the man can be seen walking through the Auschwitz memorial, calling to free Palestine.

“From these ghettos from which the Zionists came, I say Allah have mercy on all the Palestinians and our martyrs." Free Palestine,” he exclaimed….

These were not ghettos, but death camps. And so very few survived them. But that doesn’t bother the unnamed Palestinian who filmed his visit. He only sees these as places from where “the Zionists came” to inflict pain on poor Palestinians. And he wants “the Zionists” — the Jews — ideally to return to Auschwitz where they can be dealt with appropriately, that is, put to death. But if that is not possible, then at least the Jews must leave the land they stole from the Palestinians and go back, he says “to your countries.”

Though the campus brats accuse Israel of a “genocide” in Gaza, the only “genocide” that has been attempted was that carried out by Hamas on October 7, when 3,000 Hamas operatives smashed into Israel from Gaza, in cars, on motorbikes, and on paragliders, and proceeded to rape, torture, mutilate, and murder 1,200 Israeli men, women, and children. A great many Palestinians — 82% — have expressed approval of what Hamas did on that day. Now we have a Palestinian, cheerfully videotaping himself as he tours Auschwitz, so that his fellow Palestinians, and indeed all Muslims, can see him calling for “the Zionists” — he means “the Jews” — to “all [be returned] to the concentration camps” where, Allah willing, they can be put to death.

Would any of the thousands of campus nitwits now chanting “Say No To Genocide” care to comment on this Palestinian’s heartfelt desire to send Jews back where he knows they belong — to Auschwitz?

World Health Organization top dog demands that Israel stop pursuing Hamas

The entire international left is united against Israel, while Jew-haters persist in thinking that the international left is a tool of the Jews and is controlled by Israel.

Imagine Tedros demanding that the allies do not enter Berlin in 1945 because it would supposedly cause a “humanitarian catastrophe.”

“W.H.O. Chief Tedros Demands Israel Stop Pursuing Hamas,” by John Hayward, Breitbart, May 1, 2024:

The World Health Organization (W.H.O.) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Tuesday that Israel’s proposed “full-scale invasion on Rafah” would be a “humanitarian catastrophe.”

“We appeal to Israel not to proceed. "We urge all parties to work for a ceasefire and lasting peace,” Tedros said in a statement on Twitter.

In another post on Tuesday, Tedros said he and Dr. Mike Ryan, executive director of the W.H.O. Health Emergencies Program, met with Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini of the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to “discuss the dire and extremely worrisome health and humanitarian situation in Gaza.”

The U.S. and many of its allies suspended funding to UNRWA, the U.N.’s Palestinian relief organization, in January after Israeli intelligence revealed that UNRWA employees actively participated in the Hamas atrocities of October 7. Several of those allies have since resumed funding, citing the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, even though the U.N. has not completed its investigation of how Hamas operatives came to be employed by the relief agency.

“The ongoing man-made starvation and blockade of humanitarian aid and basic services is increasing the risk of epidemics that can be deadly,” Tedros said, once again demanding an immediate ceasefire on humanitarian grounds.

Like many other international officials who have called for a humanitarian ceasefire, Tedros did not address the fact that Hamas is the party that keeps walking away from negotiations, essentially scuttling every round of ceasefire talks when the smallest compromise to its maximalist demands is proposed.

Hamas is, of course, also the party that started the war in Gaza, and one of the positions it refuses to compromise on is releasing the hostages it took during the outrageous crime against humanity it perpetrated against Israeli civilians on October 7.

It should be noted that Tedros did criticize Hamas for taking hostages in October and called for their “immediate release, on health and humanitarian grounds.” Hamas did not respond to this demand….

Amid the ongoing harassment and bigotry displayed by pro-Hamas protesters on college campuses across the United States, a short video has gone viral featuring a Jewish student at UCLA, wearing a Star of David necklace, being denied passage to his classes by masked activists.

“I’m a UCLA student. I deserve to go here. We pay tuition. "This is our school and they are not letting me walk in,” the student states.

As commentator Dave Rubin noted on X, “Imagine if a black kid was being denied entry to UCLA by white students… We’d all know his name, the NBA season would be cancelled, cities would be burning and dementia man would’ve sent in the national guard.”

U. Minnesota Dept. of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies: A Vile Font of Jew Hatred

Editor’s note: Since the barbaric Hamas attacks against Israel on October 7th, American universities have become an undeniable locus of Jewish hatred within our nation. Much attention has deservedly been paid to radical campus groups like Students for Justice in Palestine who call for the genocide of the Jews and cheer the terrorists of Hamas. What has received less attention—but should in fact rank as the universities’ worst offense—is the Jew hatred promoted by official departments and institutes of the universities themselves. In the case of our campuses, Jewish hatred is “the call coming from inside the house.”

The Freedom Center is exposing these academic institutes and programs as “The Top Ten Jew-Hating Academic Departments” in a new report. We will be publishing one school per day as a series on Frontpage. The Department of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Minnesota is #5 on our list.

Just a glance at the website for the University of Minnesota Department of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies reveals it to be a highly politicized unit of the wider university, dedicated to progressive activism. The site declares that “As a place where research, education, and social change go hand in hand, GWSS identifies, analyzes, and challenges structural inequalities, while imagining and creating just and transformative futures for all.” Instead of searching for truth and knowledge, the Department openly acknowledges that its vision includes “social change,” “challeng[ing] structural inequalities,” and “creating just and transformative futures for all.”

So it should come as no surprise that, like much of the progressive left, the Department of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies (DGWSS) is a vile font of Jewish hatred on the University of Minnesota campus.

Just six days after the brutal and barbaric Hamas attack on Israel, in which innocent civilians were brutalized and raped, parents killed in front of children, children killed in front of parents, bodies gleefully mutilated by terrorists on camera, DGWSS released a “Faculty Statement on Palestine” in which they described the massacre as “Hamas fighters” (not terrorists) who “brought down border fences.” The statement went on to demonize Israel and its defensive response to the worst attack in its history as “not self-defense but the continuation of a genocidal war against Gaza and against Palestinian freedom, self-determination, and life.”  The statement declared “We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and with Palestinian scholars and organizers.” DGWSS might as well have said, “We stand with Hamas.”

The statement goes on to make clear that the Department stands for Palestine, and only Palestine. “We strongly reject media coverage that condemns either side or seeks to tell a one-sided story of an unprovoked terrorist attack,” it states. “Israeli leaders are wielding a violent power that subjugates the Palestinian people and constructs them as dehumanized terrorists, upon whom any bloodshed can be meted out.”

Ironically, the Department even claims that its glorification of Hamas “fighters,” who raped and brutalized innocent Israeli women en masse is a stance for feminism. “As scholars and solidarity workers who seek justice everywhere, we respond to the call of Palestinian feminists and Palestinian freedom fighters for transnational solidarity and assert that Palestine is a feminist issue,” claims the statement. “None of us will be free unless the Palestinian people are free and Palestinian land is liberated.”

Unsurprisingly, the statement goes on to “reaffirm support for the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement,” a genocidal attempt to isolate and destroy the world’s only Jewish state.

At the very end of the lengthy diatribe against Israel, one sentence appears to apparently mediate the clear tension created by an academic department putting forth such a horrific and anti-Semitic tirade: “This statement reflects our individual views and we do not purport to speak for the University.”  This caveat is obviously a lie. Individual professors in the department could have put out a statement under their own auspices and promoted it on their personal social media accounts. Instead, DGWSS chose to place it prominently on the official department webpage of the University of Minnesota website, where it remains several months later, amended only by a brief note, added on November 20th, 2023, which states, in part, “This statement was written collectively by the tenured core faculty of the Department of Gender Women and Sexuality Studies." This statement does not reflect the position of the University of Minnesota.”  That legalistic note seems unlikely to reassure Jewish and Israeli students who are forced to take classes within the Department.

Largely in response to the DGWSS statement, the U.S. Department of Education is now conducting an investigation into whether the University of Minnesota has violated federal anti-discrimination law due to anti-Semitism on campus.

The investigation was prompted by a letter sent to federal officials by former University of Minnesota regent Michael Hsu and law professor Richard Painter who argued, according to MPR News, that the DGWSS statement “is antisemitic because it condemns Israel while justifying the terrorist attacks by Hamas.’”

“This is not about being pro-Palestinian,” Painter told MPR News. “This is about official statements of departments on websites paid for by the Minnesota taxpayers that justify the actions of Hamas.”

For its politicized use of official university resources to promote anti-Semitism and glorify Hamas, the University of Minnesota Department of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies belongs on the list of the worst Jewish-hating academic departments in America.

SEE: https://www.jihadwatch.org/2024/05/american-professor-lies-with-statistics-to-demonize-israel; republished below in full, unedited, for informational, educational, & research purposes:

American professor Alan J. Kuperman has come up with a study that claims more civilians are being killed by the IDF in Gaza than the black African civilians killed by the Arab militia known as the Janjaweed in Darfur, Sudan. Find information on his claims here: “US Academic Skews Stats in The Guardian To Compare Gaza To Worst Recent Genocides,” by Rachel O’Donoghue, HonestReporting, April 18, 2024. But they aren’t true.

Now the IDF, which is very careful to count the combatants it has killed, after six months of war, concluded that it had killed about 15,000 Hamas and PIJ combatants.

In the first six months of the Gaza war, Kuperman claims — accepting uncritically the figures put out by the Hamas-run Health Ministry — that there were 33,000 people killed in Gaza. (After the seventh month of fighting, that figure has risen to 34,000). But he failed to note that a great many of those killed were not civilians at all, but Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad fighters. The IDF, which has always been very conservative in its estimates of enemy death, determined that by that point in the war, about 15,000 Hamas and PIJ terrorists had been killed. That would mean, if we were to accept Hamas’ figure — 33,000 — of the total number of dead after six months, that only 18,000 of those killed were civilians. That would give us a monthly average of 3,000 civilians killed.

During the two years of massacres in 2003 and 2004 by both the Sudanese military and the Janjaweed militias, hundreds of thousands of black Africans, all of them civilians, were killed. Some put the total at 400,000. That would mean an average of 17,000 monthly deaths. Compare that figure to the 3,000 civilians killed on average each month in Gaza during the first six months of the war. The deaths that Kuperman says were “much greater” in Gaza than in any other recent example of mass killings, turn out to be far less, both in monthly averages, and in the total.

The deaths of civilians in Darfur continued long after the actual fighting was over. Black Africans in Darfur were not combatants but farmers and pastoralists simply trying to stay alive in a subsistence economy. The Janjaweed not only murdered civilians, but deliberately destroyed all the crops the Darfur farmers had planted, cut down their trees, stole their livestock, and burned down their villages, so that any Africans who survived their attacks would find it difficult to continue to live. Thus many died of starvation in the months following the end of hostilities, in a slow-motion genocide. A total of two million black Africans — all civilians — died in the Darfur war. So far, after seven months of war, fewer than 20,000 civilians have been killed in Gaza. See the difference?

Here are the facts, for those who need reminding:

1. Hamas started this war, a war Israel did not want, when 3,000 of its operatives smashed into Israel on October 7, accompanied by some non-Hamas Gazans who came along to join in the fun of raping and killing. Hamas operatives proceeded to rape, torture, mutilate, and murder 1,200 Israelis. They kidnapped and taken back to Gaza about 260 Israeli hostages.

2. In conducting its war in Gaza, the IDF has made colossal efforts to minimize civilian casualties. It has done so by dropping 14 million leaflets, sending six million messages, and making four million robocalls, all in order to warn civilians to leave areas, or specific buildings, such as schools, apartment buildings, mosques, and hospitals, where Hamas has embedded itself and hid its weapons and rocket launchers. In warning civilians to leave places about being targeted, the IDF is also, unavoidably, warning Hamas. No other army in the world warns its enemies of where it plans to strike next.

3. Israeli pilots have called off hundreds of strikes after they detected the presence of too many civilians in the target area.

4. For these reasons, British Colonel Richard Kemp, who commanded the British forces in Afghanistan and fought in a half-dozen other campaigns, has described the IDF as the “most moral army in the world” in its sustained effort to minimize civilian casualties.

Similarly, West Point Professor of Urban Warfare John Spencer has written that “ Israel has implemented more measures to prevent civilian casualties in urban warfare than any other military in the history of warfare.”

5. Even if we were to accept the figures on casualties put out by the Hamas-directed Ministry of Health, we arrive at a figure of 3,000 monthly deaths of Gazan civilians during the first six months of the war. But in Sudan, during the period of the Arab Janjaweed attacks on black Africans, the monthly average was nearly six times as high — 17,000 deaths each month.

It’s a cautionary tale. Pay close attention to the numbers being cited by those who make astonishing claims about the deaths of Gazan civilians that, they insist, have been far greater than the civilian deaths caused by the Janjaweed in Darfur or in similar recent cases of mass death, as in Burundi. Don’t let yourself be hornswoggled.

State Department claims ‘five Israeli units responsible for gross violations of human rights’ before October 7

The statement from the State Department is reprehensible, as it implies that Israel provoked October 7. Let’s not forget that on the same day of the Hamas massacre, October 7, the Saudis, Qatar, and Iran all blamed the attack upon the so-called “occupation.” The State Department is scapegoating Israel again, which serves to empower Hamas, Iran and all jihadists.

Note that the State Department’s Vedant Patel “did not identify the units” he was accusing. The accusations against Israel of human rights abuses are vague because they aren’t justified.

It is the modus operandi of jihadists everywhere to rape and murder, with no limits upon their intentional, calculated savagery against civilians. That isn’t the MO of Israel. Jihadists are infamously inhumane — from al-Qaeda and ISIS to Boko Haram, al-Shabaab and the Taliban. It’s historic and ongoing.

“When your Lord was revealing to the angels, ‘I am with you; so confirm the believers. I shall cast terror into the hearts of the unbelievers; so strike the necks, and strike every finger of them!” (Qur’an 8:12)

And all married women [are forbidden to you] except those whom your right hands possess. (Qur’an 4:24)

The October 7 attack was not connected in any way, shape or form to anything Israel has done. To claim otherwise is to ignore the jihad imperative. Muslims kill Muslims in droves. Muslims kill Christians and other infidels in droves, and routinely murder Israelis. October 7 took years to plan. The Times of Israel reported “sources close to the leadership of Hamas’s Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades military wing” as stating this:

The terrorists involved in the devastating attack were selected from among hundreds of elite commandos from all over Gaza, and underwent training for a number of years, along with continuous testing to gauge their skills.

Neither Israel nor any Western “elite” forces would train their personnel to commit a barbaric attack such as what the world saw on October 7.

“US says five Israeli units committed abuse before Hamas attack,” WION, April 30, 2024:

"The United States announced that five Israeli military units had committed grave human rights violations against Palestinians in the West Bank before Hamas launched its assault in the month of October," said the State Department on Monday (Apr 29).

State Department deputy spokesman Vedant Patel said that four out of the five units had taken remedial measures, however, consultations were underway across the fifth unit with the Israeli government.

“After a careful process, we found five Israeli units responsible for individual incidents of gross violations of human rights,” Patel said.

Patel said that the violations took place before the Oct 7 Hamas assault and that it was not in the Gaza Strip.

He did not identify the units or specify the measures the Israeli government had taken against them….

A large mob of anti-Israel protesters broke into an academic building at Columbia University and took control of it on Tuesday morning.

The mob rebranded the well-known hall named after U.S. founding father Alexander Hamilton and displayed a giant flag that read “intifada.”

Footage of the incident showed dozens of anti-Israel protesters breaking into Hamilton Hall and barricading themselves just before 1 a.m., with many using metal barricades, chairs and tables.

One video shows a protester using a hammer to smash through a glass-paneled door. He is also seen locking himself in by wrapping a bike lock around the door handles.

Once anti-Israel protesters were able to gain entry into the building, they quickly covered the cameras with black trash bags and tape, according to the school’s Columbia Daily Spectator.

“We will not leave until Columbia meets every one of our demands,” one activist screamed from a balcony in the building. The group has demanded that the university divest from Israel.

The student-led outlet also reported that the building was locked down within five minutes, with protesters not allowing anyone to enter.

Representative Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) said at a press conference: “The world is watching as the leadership of our so-called elite colleges and universities continue to fail to condemn antisemitism and protect Jewish students on campus.”

The rioters were reportedly still occupying the building on the South Lawn, which has been the location of the school’s anti-Israel encampment for over a week, according to the school paper.

Meanwhile, the campus storming prompted Columbia officials to close the campus on Tuesday, restricting access to everyone except students who currently live there, as well as essential staff.

Additionally, hundreds of protesters covered the outside of the campus building, linking arms to form a human chain, and stopping people from coming through the entrance.

“Hey hey, ho ho, the occupation has got to go,” protesters outside the building could be heard chanting during the wild scenes, according to footage posted to X by an independent news blog.

“We will not leave until Columbia meets every one of our demands,” others raged.

The latest anti-Israel movement comes less than a day after Columbia finally announced they would begin suspending students who refused to leave their tent encampment by 2 p.m. on campus.

The school outlet also stated that when the mob entered the building, there were facilities workers still inside, with one of the workers yelling “They held me hostage!” as he left the building.

“They swarmed the building,” one of the workers told Politico. “I got into a scuffle with a couple of them. "They finally let us out,” the staffer added, showing off a cut on their hand.

In the meantime, Columbia officials have not stated how they plan to address the latest actions by anti-Israel protesters.

Meanwhile, the White House denounced the hostile takeover, saying it was “absolutely the wrong approach” that is “not an example of peaceful protest.”

A slew of anti-Israel protests have been happening at other campuses across the U.S. in the past two weeks.

Columbia U: Pro-Hamas Protesters Call for Killing of Jewish Students, Praise Jihad Murderers~The fruit of indoctrination that passes for education.

[Order a copy of Robert Spencer’s forthcoming book, "Muhammad: A Critical Biographyby clicking here.]

This is the fruit of the hard-left indoctrination that passes for university education today.

…Two days after more than 100 students were arrested when the NYPD raided a tent encampment on the Ivy League campus, roughly 200 demonstrators were still going strong on Saturday, chanting, holding signs and waving Palestinian flags.

At least three people were arrested, the NYPD confirmed. Two were cuffed for disorderly conduct and a third was slapped with a summonses for a sound reproduction device.

“Up, up with liberation." Down, down with occupation,” they yelled through the locked campus gate on W. 115th and Broadway….

“We want justice, you say how?" "Stop arming Israel now!” another group chanted.

The students are demanding the university divest from Israel.

“We demand that Columbia sever academic ties with Israeli universities and we demand that Columbia stop censoring and intimidating students who are standing up and advocating for Palestinian liberation,” one student yelled through the gate to the crowd that had gathered on the other side outside of campus.

Over 100 students were arrested at Columbia University on Thursday night.

A line of police officers in riot helmets watched on. A handful of Israeli supporters stood across Broadway — including one who was doused with fake blood for engaging with pro-Palestinian students.

Avi Lichtschein, 37, of Manhattan was walking his dog when the group surrounded him and shouted, “We don’t want no Zionists here!”…

Another pro-Israel bystander, Ross Glick, 50, told The Post his grandparents were Holocaust survivors. The Upper East Side resident grew up in the Midwest during the first intifada but said “this is more concerning.”

“There’s no doubt that there’s a lot of innocent people dying in Gaza but to call it a genocide….What about the 6,000 Muslims that were gassed by Assad?” Glick said.

“If you don’t like it go to Gaza,” he said about the protesters.

The protesters, he said, don’t want a peaceful solution.

Students continued to occupy the lawn area at the Ivy League school on Saturday..

“You don’t hear them talk about peace or co-existence. [It’s] death to Israel,” he said….

Columbia University and Barnard College faculty slammed Thursday’s arrests and demanded that their records be expunged.

The American Association of University Professors at the sister schools issued a statement following a “mass emergency meeting” of faculty on Friday.

“We condemn in the strongest possible terms the Administration’s suspension of students engaged in peaceful protest and their arrest by the New York City Police Department,” according to a statement provided to The Post.

They said Columbia has an “absolute obligation” to protect students’ freedom of speech….

Yeah, except the freedom of speech of those with whom they disagree. If these were Trump supporters or foes of jihad violence who were demonstrating, the American Association of University Professors would be silent, or cheering on their incarceration.

Police clashed with students at Yale University’s Connecticut campus on Monday morning and began arresting students who had been staging an anti-Israel protest for several days.

Video footage posted online showed police arriving and blocking off entrances to a plaza on the New Haven campus, where an estimated 200 protesters had been gathered.

Cops told students that they would be arrested if they continued to protest and not leave, according to the Yale Daily News

Meanwhile, dozens of protesters were handcuffed for trespassing and taken away on Yale University shuttle buses.

During the arrests, protesters could be heard yelling at the Yale Police Department (YPD), “YPD or KKK, IDF they’re all the same!” and chanting, “Arab blood is not cheap, for the martyrs we will speak!”

Authorities cleared the plaza and encampment of student protesters at around 8 a.m.

The latest campus clear-out comes after protests at Yale turned violent over the weekend when a Jewish student was stabbed in the eye with a Palestinian flag on Saturday night.

Sahar Tartak, editor-in-chief of the Yale Free Press, was covering the protest when she was suddenly swarmed by protesters.

“There’s hundreds of people taunting me and waving the middle finger at me, and then this person waves a Palestinian flag in my face and jabs it in my eye,” Tartak told the New York Post.

“When I tried to yell and go after him, the protesters got in a line and stopped me.”

After the brutal incident, Yale president Peter Salovey responded by sending all students an email on Sunday night, saying that the university “will pursue disciplinary actions according to its policies” amid the ongoing demonstrations.

“Many of the students participating in the protests, including those conducting counterprotests, have done so peacefully. However, I am aware of reports of egregious behavior, such as intimidation and harassment, pushing those in crowds, removal of the plaza flag, and other harmful acts,” he wrote.

“Yale does not tolerate actions, including remarks, that threaten, harass, or intimidate members of the university’s Jewish, Muslim, and other communities."

“The Yale Police Department is investigating each report, and we will take action when appropriate, including making referrals for student discipline.”

Democrat Senator Van Hollen’s Tirade Against Israel

Providing more fodder for the Unholy Alliance.

SEE: https://www.frontpagemag.com/democrat-senator-van-hollens-tirade-against-israel/; republished below in full, unedited, for informational, educational, & research purposes:

[Pre-order a copy of David Horowitz’s next book, America Betrayed, by clicking here. Orders will begin shipping on May 7th.]

Maryland’s progressive Democrat Senator Chris Van Hollen is one of the leading members of Congress demanding that President Biden take a much tougher stance against Israel over its conduct of the war in Gaza. Bowing to the pressure that is coming from congressional Democrats and from the pro-Palestinian progressive voters the president needs for his re-election, President Biden is buckling under.

President Biden warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during their April 4th phone call that future U.S. support for Israel in the Gaza war would depend upon Israel taking concrete, verifiable measures to protect civilians and humanitarian workers. The Biden administration allowed a United Nations Security Council resolution to pass last month that demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza without any linkage to the immediate release of the hostages held by Hamas and other Palestinian terrorists.

But Senator Van Hollen, like his fellow Israeli-bashers, is still not satisfied.

Senator Van Hollen wants to immediately cut off the U.S.’s resupply of any weapons that Israel has been using in Gaza to destroy Hamas and free the hostages, which he considers to be “offensive weapons.” During his April 7th broadcast interview on CBS, Senator Van Hollen identified the weapons he said the U.S. should not be sending to Israel as “any more airplanes, bombs, artillery, everything that’s being used right now in Gaza.”

Senator Van Hollen said he was willing for the U.S. to continue providing Israel with purely defensive weapons for use in Israel itself, such as the Iron Dome. But no more weapons that Israel’s military needs to finish destroying Hamas’ fighting capabilities at their source.

It was as if the Democrat senator from Delaware was trying to turn the clock back to October 6th. He wants Israel to respond reactively only after Hamas has already launched its lethal rockets and sent its fighters from Gaza to murder more innocent civilians in Israel. The unprovoked terrorist invasion and massacres in Israel on October 7th proved that such a wait-and-see approach will inevitably lead to a disastrous outcome. Nevertheless, Van Hollen has no problem putting Israel back again in that same vulnerable position against a revived Hamas, leaving unarmed civilians in Israel exposed to more October 7th-style genocidal attacks or worse.

Senator Van Hollen’s willingness to give Hamas space and time to regroup and rebuild its fighting capabilities rather than help Israel finish off Hamas for good is no surprise. He blames Israel, not Hamas, for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

For example, Senator Van Hollen accused Israel of “textbook war crimes” in Gaza by, according to Van Hollen, “deliberately withholding food for children.” This is unmitigated blood libel against the Jewish State of Israel. Van Hollen is propagating the same lies uttered by the United Nations’ Israel-hating so-called “experts” and by biased, self-righteous “human rights” organizations.

Hamas not only started this war with its genocidal attack October 7th on Israel. Hamas has been responsible for the suffering endured by Palestinian civilians in Gaza ever since that horrible day.

Bassem Eid, a Palestinian human rights activist, explained the Hamas-imposed humanitarian crisis this way in his article entitled “My Fellow Palestinians: Stop Blaming the Jews—Hamas Is Starving Our Brothers and Sisters in Gaza”:

“As a Palestinian human rights activist deeply sympathetic to the plight of the Palestinian people and the complexities of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, I can tell you beyond the shadow of a doubt that the terrorist group Hamas is responsible for the suffering of Gazans.”

“Hamas breached all precedent with an all-out invasion of Southern Israel, massacring over 1,200 innocents in a single day—including 300 young people at an all-night nature dance party celebrating peace… As a human rights activist and a human being, I recognize that it defies all rules of geopolitics, morality, and human nature to suggest that Israel not respond militarily to dismantle Hamas and rescue its people, who we now know are being raped and psychologically tortured in captivity. And yet, amidst the intensity of the ongoing war, Israel has facilitated the transfer of international aid to Hamas-controlled territory—while Hamas has been seizing these essential supplies and transferring them for military purposes.”

Mr. Eid condemned the “failures of an international policy that has foolishly coddled a brutal tyrant and implacable foe.” By leveling false charges of “war crimes” against Israel, Senator Van Hollen is doing the same thing as the UN “experts” and others in the so-called international community, who wear their bias against Israel on their sleeves, are doing. He is amplifying the pro-Hamas propaganda that blames the victim of aggression, Israel, for the sins of terrorist aggressors against Israelis and Palestinian civilians alike.

More than seventy Maryland rabbis of all different Jewish denominations spoke with one voice against Senator Van Hollen’s inflammatory anti-Israel rhetoric. “Following the worst pogrom against Jews since the Holocaust,” they wrote in their letter to Van Hollen, “we here at home have faced the worst wave of antisemitism in our lifetimes." Yet to our dismay, rather than standing with us, your efforts in the Senate have only stoked deeper divisions and further isolated Israel and our Jewish community. While Israel fights against terror and threats of annihilation, we are aghast by your claims about war crimes and your portrayal of Israel as the aggressor.”

Any reasonable people who understand that Israel’s survival is at stake as a safe haven for Jews in a world rife with anti-Semitism should be appalled at Senator Van Hollen’s patently false accusations against the Jewish state. They should also be appalled by his calls for immediately cutting off the delivery of weapons that Israel urgently needs to save itself from more genocidal terrorist attacks on its soil. Van Hollen is recklessly providing more fodder for Israel’s enemies to exploit against Israel itself and Jews everywhere.

Hamas Claims That Israeli Hostages Left Captivity ‘Happy and Laughing’

SEE: https://www.jihadwatch.org/2024/04/hamas-claims-that-israeli-hostages-left-captivity-happy-and-laughing; republished below in full, unedited, for informational, educational, & research purposes:

We all know that Hamas threatened the Israelis hostages that it was just about to release last November to put on happy faces, and wish their former captors “Shalom” for the cameras, and those who could manage it did as they were told. They had been warned that if they did not collaborate, it would go hard with the hostages still being held captive, whom they were leaving behind. But when they arrived home, the released hostages proceeded to describe the horrific conditions in which they had been held. They spoke of living on one piece of pita bread each day, or being occasionally given rotten meat. Many of them lived in the tunnels, enduring the cold and the darkness. None had received a visit from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). And finally, after many months, some of them finally spoke publicly of the sexual abuse they had endured every day, including rapes, and revealed that all of the female hostages were still being similarly abused.

Christine Douglass-Williams wrote about this here, and more on this sexual abuse, and Hamas’ blanket denial, can be found here: “Outrageous lie: Israeli hostages in Gaza “left happy and laughing” – they received “generous treatment” – PA TV interview,” by Itamar Marcus, Palestinian Media Watch, April 4, 2024:

Recently, an Israeli woman aged 40 who was held hostage by Hamas revealed that she was sexually assaulted by her captor. And she is not the only one. Other hostages have also testified about sexual abuse, torture and beatings while being held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

As more testimonies from Israeli hostages who were freed last November after almost two months in Hamas captivity are being published, the war of narratives has become urgent.

The meager rations, the beatings, the confinement in dark and cold tunnels, were the common lot of the hostages. Several dozen hostages have also been murdered while in Hamas’ captivity over the past six months.

The Palestinian and Arab narrative is entirely fictitious and is intended to humanize Hamas and deny its atrocities. One example is this outrageous claim made to official PA TV by a lecturer at Cairo University that the Israeli hostages received “generous treatment” and left captivity “happy and laughing”:

Head of Radio and TV Department at Cairo University’s Faculty of Mass Communications Ashraf Jalal: “The generous treatment Palestine gave the Israeli prisoners (i.e., kidnapped women and children) caused an enormous positive response, because after [the Israelis] lied and said that [Hamas] is abusing them, the [Israeli] people left [Gaza] happy and laughing… What is required is that we redirect the media spotlight to this issue.”

[Official PA TV, From Cairo, Feb. 12, 2024]

The brazen lie follows those made by senior PA officials, which have been documented by Palestinian Media Watch. In November 2023, Minister Qadura Fares, who is the director of the PLO Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs, said that Israel “made up this story and said: They [the Palestinians] raped, killed, and burned” [Official PA TV, Nov. 20, 2023]. In December 2023, PLO Executive Committee member and PLF Secretary-General Wasel Abu Yusuf said: “Since October 7, there has been a Zionist version that [Israel] has attempted to spread worldwide out of tendentious propaganda, [claiming] that there was murder of children, rape of women, crimes, and the like” [Official PA TV, Topic of the Day, Dec. 3, 2023].

But we have testimony about the murdered children, the rapes, the mutilation of bodies of Israeli survivors who witnessed or overheard these events from their hiding places. We also have videos of these atrocities that were taken at the time by those who committed them, so proud were they of how they had terrorized, tortured, raped, and killed the hated Israelis. And, of course, we have the 1,200 corpses of those who were burned to death, or stabbed or shot, with the females having had their breasts sliced off, and genitalia cut off men, as well as their eyes gouged out.

It’s not the charges of murder and kidnapping that Hamas feels the need to deny, but the charge of “sexual abuse” — meaning “rape.” That is seen as beyond the pale. Pass out candies and celebrate the murders of 1,200 Israelis on October 7, but remain silent about the mass rapes which Muslim men are not supposed to engage in. “We have our standards,” they imply, and rape is not allowed. It’s absurd of course: there were endless rapes on October 7, and then more sexual abuse, including rapes, of female hostages by their Hamas captors in Gaza that continue right up to the present day. So please understand the threats that made some of those hostages — only a few could manage it — appear to be “happy and laughing” for the whirring cameras as they left Gaza, freed in the November hostage-for-prisoner exchange. And months later, concentrate on the full horror of what the remaining hostages — starved, beaten, held in cold, dark tunnels, with sexual abuse and rape a daily occurrence – must still endure.
