(Click here to read at the website)Because of what has happened recently in the Hawaii District, as well as in the Holland District and other places, it can be assumed that apostasy can be allowed in the Church of the Nazarene and go unpunished. Standards written in the Manual no longer matter. It is simply hypocrisy.Welcome to the world of “evil being associated with holiness”, and “good becomes evil” in the Church of the Nazarene. Here is the current status of Rick Power and Will Campbell from the Hawaii District:- Will Campbell, who performed a same sex marriage, is still a pastor in good standing.- Rick Power, who believes homosexuality is not a sin, is still an ordained elder in good standing in the church.Neither of these men have repented, nor shown any remorse, for their actions and beliefs. The following happened in the Hawaii-Pacific District of the Nazarene denomination:District Superintendent Rick Power approves of his son-in-law’s officiating of a same sex marriage; he also promotes same sex marriage, and believes homosexuality is not a sin.Result: The District Superintendent is rewarded for his apostasy, by agreeing with a General Superintendent to retire with his credentials fully intact, and with the possibility of being assigned to other duties as an elder in the church. He was not sanctioned in any way, and he is allowed to remain an ordained elder in the denomination, in spite of his clearly obvious transgression of God’s word, and of the Nazarene Manual. (Evil is now good)The “honor and praise” of an apostate continues within the Church of the Nazarene after Rick Power was honored at First Nazarene Church in Hawaii. Some of the honor and praise has come from Nazarene pastors and leaders who know better. Below is the text from a FaceBook post made by a pastor congratulating Rick Power on his “faithful” service to the Church of the Nazarene. I have also been followed with comments by other Nazarene “leaders” who either don’t know of Power’s rebellion against God’s word, or they are complicit in their support of his “doctrines of demons.” (All these comments are public). Honor and praise for an apostate in the Church of the Nazarene:

Gary Morsch's FaceBook Post:

What a blessing it was to honor the ministry of Rick and Vicki Power this past Sunday at Honolulu First Nazarene Church in Hawaii! Pastor Randy Beckum led a beautiful service in which a variety of people shared the many ways that the Powers have impacted their lives.

Rick and Vicki have certainly impacted my life! Power’s ministry has intersected my life in many ways. First, Rick was Heart to Heart International’s “Chief Asia Representative,” coordinating the work of HHI from his office in Beijing, China. He later became my pastor at Olathe’s College Church in Nazarene for five impactful years. The foundation he laid has much to do with the stunning transformation of the College Church into the dynamic congregation that it is today, under the incredible leadership of the pastors that followed him—-Pastor Dave Sharpes, and now pastor Kevin Donoho!

As Rick is pushed out of his role as District Superintendent of the Hawaii Pacific District, I am certain that he and Vicki are entering the most exciting and impactful chapter of ministry ever! I am excited about where they might go. But what a loss for the denomination known as the Church of the Nazarene. The church has abandoned one of the most compassionate leaders of the church, all in an effort to hold on to an orthodoxy that is narrow, fundamentalist, and far from the heart of our church’s founders, John Wesley and Phineas Bresee.

To say I’m worried about the future of our church is an understatement. Dee Kelly, Tom Oord and Rick Power are only the first of many clergy to be marginalized by the Church of the Nazarene. Thankfully, they will continue in ministry, ordained by God to minister to the least and the lost.

Thank you, Rick and Vicki, for the impact you’ve had on the lives of countless thousands across the globe!

Highlights of Gary Morsch’s words:
1. “The foundation he has laid [at Olathe Church]”.  I have heard from a number of Nazarenes who attended Olathe during Power’s tenure. The general description was that Rick Power devastated that church. According to the official Nazarene website, weekly attendance dropped every year, from 2,377 in 2010 to 1,629 in 2016.

  1. “As Rick is pushed out of the church”; “what a loss for the Church of the Nazarene.”
Morsch apparently believes that the supposed departure of a pastor who promotes same sex marriage and also thinks homosexuality is not a sin, equates to a loss for the church. Morsch also wrongfully suggests that Phineas Bresee and John Wesley would have joined along in these heresies that are destroying the church.

3. “Dee Kelly and Tom Oord and Rick Power are only the first of many clergy who will be marginalized by the Church of the Nazarene.”
Mr. Morsch exposes his further support for additional heretics in the church. However, if they do become truly marginalized - by having their credentials removed - that would be the right thing to do!

Comments From Various Nazarene “Leaders” About Rick Power

Below are screenshots of statements made to or about Rick Power by various Nazarene leaders, from a former General Superintendent, to a college president, a seminary president, a theology department head, and various leaders and pastors in the church. Besides being given a free pass, Rick Power is being portrayed by some of these people as even a “martyr” of some kind, who has been wronged by the so-called “fundamentalists”, as a few others have commented. A heretic is being given “double honor!”

Dan Boone (President of Trevecca Nazarene University) says to Rick Power “You walk in the way of our Lord.”  Jerry Porter (General Superintendent Emeritus) says “we honor you for your ministry over the years.” Brent Peterson (Dean of Theology at Northwest Nazarene University)  says “thank you for your faithfulness to the church.” Dean Fleming says “he is one of the most gifted preachers of God’s word.” Montague Williams (Professor at Point Loma Nazarene University) says “I’m thankful for the way you’ve faithfully led in ministerial leadership and overall way of life.”

These are “clouds without water.” This is all an indication of the moral corruption and compromise that has infiltrated the church. These leaders know better. If Rick Power can be celebrated in such a way, while people turn their eyes away from the damage he has caused, then anything goes now in the Church of the Nazarene.  There is no leadership anymore.  Meanwhile, no voice or significant action from the top leaders on this. The General Superintendents are weak, or even worse, are complicit in allowing apostasy an open door to feed on the flock. What a total disgrace.

Perhaps some will want to ask each of these people, especially if they know them personally, this question: “Why is a former District Superintendent and currently an ordained elder allowed to retain his ordination credentials, when he has clearly violated Biblical and Nazarene standards?"

Columbia U: Pro-Hamas Protesters Call for Killing of Jewish Students, Praise Jihad Murderers~The fruit of indoctrination that passes for education.

This is the fruit of the hard-left indoctrination that passes for university education today.

…Two days after more than 100 students were arrested when the NYPD raided a tent encampment on the Ivy League campus, roughly 200 demonstrators were still going strong on Saturday, chanting, holding signs and waving Palestinian flags.

At least three people were arrested, the NYPD confirmed. Two were cuffed for disorderly conduct and a third was slapped with a summonses for a sound reproduction device.

“Up, up with liberation." Down, down with occupation,” they yelled through the locked campus gate on W. 115th and Broadway….

“We want justice, you say how?" "Stop arming Israel now!” another group chanted.

The students are demanding the university divest from Israel.

“We demand that Columbia sever academic ties with Israeli universities and we demand that Columbia stop censoring and intimidating students who are standing up and advocating for Palestinian liberation,” one student yelled through the gate to the crowd that had gathered on the other side outside of campus.

Over 100 students were arrested at Columbia University on Thursday night.

A line of police officers in riot helmets watched on. A handful of Israeli supporters stood across Broadway — including one who was doused with fake blood for engaging with pro-Palestinian students.

Avi Lichtschein, 37, of Manhattan was walking his dog when the group surrounded him and shouted, “We don’t want no Zionists here!”…

Another pro-Israel bystander, Ross Glick, 50, told The Post his grandparents were Holocaust survivors. The Upper East Side resident grew up in the Midwest during the first intifada but said “this is more concerning.”

“There’s no doubt that there’s a lot of innocent people dying in Gaza but to call it a genocide….What about the 6,000 Muslims that were gassed by Assad?” Glick said.

“If you don’t like it go to Gaza,” he said about the protesters.

The protesters, he said, don’t want a peaceful solution.

Students continued to occupy the lawn area at the Ivy League school on Saturday..

“You don’t hear them talk about peace or co-existence. [It’s] death to Israel,” he said….

Columbia University and Barnard College faculty slammed Thursday’s arrests and demanded that their records be expunged.

The American Association of University Professors at the sister schools issued a statement following a “mass emergency meeting” of faculty on Friday.

“We condemn in the strongest possible terms the Administration’s suspension of students engaged in peaceful protest and their arrest by the New York City Police Department,” according to a statement provided to The Post.

They said Columbia has an “absolute obligation” to protect students’ freedom of speech….

Yeah, except the freedom of speech of those with whom they disagree. If these were Trump supporters or foes of jihad violence who were demonstrating, the American Association of University Professors would be silent, or cheering on their incarceration.
