WATCH: American flags burned in protest of Netanyahu speech to Congress | LiveNOW from FOX

Protesters demonstrating against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu's visit to the US were captured on video setting fire to American flags and vandalizing statues in Washington DC. At least one demonstrator, whose face was covered, was spotted by FOX News carrying what appeared to be the flag of the terrorist group Hamas, while others were heard shouting "Allahu Akbar." At Union Station, agitators burned an American flag and vandalized a Christopher Columbus statue with the words "Hamas is coming." They also took down an American flag and replaced it with the Palestinian flag. Netanyahu delivered an address to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday afternoon, his fourth overall speech to Congress, the most of any leader. Rep. Anthony D'Esposito (R-NY) was in attendance for Netanyahu's speech and joined LiveNOW from FOX's Josh Breslow to discuss the address and the fiery protests around the nation's capital.

Pro-Hamas protesters take over part of Brooklyn Museum, vandalize artwork, scuffle with police

With climate fantasists defacing artwork and pro-Hamas thugs menacing people at museums, before too long such cultural installations will be a thing of the past.

“Police arrest 22 for anti-Israel demo backed by pro-Hamas group at Brooklyn Museum,” Times of Israel, June 1 2024 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

Pro-Palestinian protesters took over parts of the museum on Friday, hanging a banner above the main entrance, occupying much of the lobby and scuffling with police, witnesses said.

New York City police officers tackled and punched protesters during scuffles that broke out in the crowd outside the museum, while some demonstrators hurled plastic bottles at officers and shouted insults. Other protesters held banners, waved Palestinian flags and chanted boisterously on the steps of the grand, Beaux Arts museum, which is the city’s second largest.

The art museum in the New York City borough of Brooklyn said it closed an hour early due to the disruption.

One of the arrests was of a man who spray-painted an outdoor sculpture, Reuters witnessed. Skirmishes between police and protesters also took place inside the building.

“There was damage to existing and newly installed artwork on our plaza,” a museum spokesperson said in an email. “Protesters entered the building, and our public safety staff were physically and verbally harassed….

Security guards prevented many from entering, with videos posted on social media showing them trying to secure the museum’s doors against the surging crowd, but some demonstrators managed to get inside.

A banner was hung from atop the neoclassical facade proclaiming, “Free Palestine, Divest From Genocide,” while the protesters also set up tents in the lobby.

A pro-Palestinian organization named Within Our Lifetime urged demonstrators to “flood Brooklyn Museum for Gaza,” alluding to the name that Hamas gave to its October 7 terror onslaught that started the war in Gaza. Within Our Lifetime, which praised the Hamas-led attack in the immediate aftermath of the atrocities, says activists occupied the museum to compel it to disclose any Israeli-related investments and to divest any such funding….

Introducing James Carlson, 40-Year-Old Professional Agitator and One of Columbia’s ‘Student Protesters’

SEE: https://www.jihadwatch.org/2024/05/introducing-james-carlson-40-year-old-professional-agitator-and-one-of-columbias-student-protesters; republished below in full, unedited, for informational, educational, & research purposes:

Between one-third and one-half of those “students” taking part at Columbia in the frenzied mob protests against Israel and for Hamas turn out not to be students at all, but older people, some of them professional left-wing agitators with long records of fomenting violence., and always eager to join any group of troublemakers willing to “stick it to the man.” Most often, nowadays the “man” in question is the “apartheid, settler-colonial, genocidal state” of Israel. More on James Carlson can be found here: “‘Violent’ Columbia protester is heir to the ad empire, has mansion, model babymama — and long rap sheet,” by Tina Moore, Chris Harris and Matthew Sedacca, New York Post, May 4, 2024:

One of the most violent leaders of the Columbia University riots is allegedly a professional agitator and limousine liberal — the scion of millionaire ad execs who owns in a $3.4 million Brooklyn townhouse, has a model babymama and a stepmom dating John Cougar Mellencamp.

James Carlson, aka Cody Carlson, aka Cody Tarlow, is “a longtime anarchist,” a high-ranking police source said.

He bought his 2,893-square-foot, three-story townhouse with four wood-burning fireplaces and a carriage house in Park Slope in 2019 for $2.3 million, according to property records and online listings….

Carlson is a trust-fund baby, living large with a likely net worth — extrapolating from the value of his house — of at least ten million dollars. He doesn’t need a job, so why should he work? Instead, what fun it is for him to join whatever group is now causing the most mayhem and mischief. It gives him something to do, and allows him to believe that his life has a point after all — he is a true revolutionary, making the world a better place by whipping up others in whatever mob he has joined. In the present disarray, those “others” whom he eggs on are students at Columbia.

Carlson is a rabble rouser and an attorney by trade, according to sources.

He is certainly a rabble-rouser, but he will likely not be an “attorney by trade” much longer. He is almost certain to be disbarred after being arrested for taking part in the violent takeover of Hamilton Hall.

He is being looked at as a “possible leader” of the anti-Israel protesters who broke into Columbia University’s Hamilton Hall Tuesday night and barricaded themselves inside, a City Hall source said.

Emergency Services Unit cops used a military-style truck to get inside and arrested the rioters, including Carlson, early Wednesday morning.

He was charged with burglary, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, conspiracy and criminal trespassing.

If he is convicted of even one of these charges, Carlson will be disbarred. But he doesn’t care; he has plenty to live on, thanks to his indulgent parents, without having to suffer the indignity of going to an office and working for a living.

“I observed the defendant inside the location with several other individuals,” a police officer wrote in the arrest report. “I did observe doors with shattered windows, doors off hinges, broken desks and exits blockaded by piled-up chairs.”

Carlson destroyed a camera inside a holding cell at One Police Plaza while he was in custody around 1 a.m., police sources said….

He can’t help himself. Carlson appears to be possessed by an obsessive will to destroy.

Carlson was among the anti-Israel protesters in January who wreaked havoc on the city by blocking traffic at the Holland Tunnel as well as the Brooklyn, Manhattan and Williamsburg Bridges, a source said.

His rap sheet dates back to at least 2005, when he was charged in San Francisco for participating in the violent “West Coast Anti-Capitalist Mobilization and March Against the G8,” where protesters cracked a police officer’s skull, nearly killing him, and attempted to set a police cruiser ablaze, according to a City Hall source and news reports.

Carlson was charged at the time with suspicion of attempted lynching, malicious mischief, battery on a police officer, aggravated assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon and willful resistance to a police officer that resulted in serious bodily injury, according to the source.

The charges were dropped in 2007, CNN reported.

Carlson is a serial menace, a violent man who joins whatever group is likely to provide him with the most convenient outlet for his violence and left-wingery. In 2005, he was engaged in “Anti-Capitalist Mobilization” (though the money he gets from his parents comes from their success in the capitalist advertising rat-race), and was charged with “attempted lynching, malicious mischief, battery to a police officer, aggravated assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon.” Wasn’t all that enough to keep him in jail for a very long time? Apparently not. Nor was he in the least chastened by that experience. His latest display of mayhem in Morningside Heights, including his leading assault on Hamilton Hall, is evidence of that.

Carlson has no known links to Columbia University. About 30% of those busted in the Hamilton Hall takeover were outside agitators, according to Columbia and Mayor Adams.

It is estimated that on the 43 American campuses where anti-Israel pro-Hamas demonstrations have so far taken place, between 30% and 50% of those taking part have no connection to the universities they are subject to such mayhem. The word is out: if you want to have fun chanting at the top of your lungs, destroying property, harassing Jewish students, this is your chance. James Carlson can say, just like the corrupt politician of Tammany Hall fame, George Washington Plunkitt, that “I seen my opportunities and I took ‘em.” Carlson will come out for any cause that will provide him with the virtue-signalling opportunity for the violent expression of his predictable left-wing views." Anti-capitalism in 2005, anti-Israel and pro-Hamas in 2024, and just as soon as he is let out of prison for his latest offenses, James Carlson will no doubt be found leading a group taking over and ransacking the offices of fossil fuel companies, as their way – the least convincing way — to protest global warming.

What The Pro-Hamas Protests Tell Us About America’s Judeo-Christian Heritage

Is there any ground exempt from the occupation of terrorists in America?

SEE: https://www.frontpagemag.com/what-the-pro-hamas-protests-tell-us-about-americas-judeo-christian-heritage/; republished below in full, unedited, for informational, educational, & research purposes:

[Order David Horowitz’s new book, America Betrayed, HERE.]

In October 2021, just five days following a National School Boards Association letter to the Biden administration labeling parents’ behavior at school board meetings “equivalent to domestic terrorism and hate crimes,” Attorney General Merrick Garland issued a memo calling on the FBI to investigate threats to school boards and school staff. Garland wrote, “While the spirited debate about policy matters is protected under our Constitution, that protection does not extend to threats of violence or efforts to intimidate individuals based on their views.”

Parents who were truly, peacefully protesting were dubbed domestic terrorists, but real terrorists shouting, “Death to America” on government school campuses today are given a pass and called “protestors.”

Does anybody see the absurdity in this? Those calling for “Death to America” are not protestors. They are rioters and terrorists! Much like those employed by Antifa and BLM following the death of George Floyd, most of whom are not even students or residents, but are likely employed by the same nefarious actors.

Riot police in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles fired tear gas and pepper spray, police vehicles were set on fire and shops were looted in several cities during the riots that followed George Floyd’s death. And yet, the media continued to call them “peaceful protestors” and claimed racial victimhood as an excuse for their criminal behavior.

Where is the pepper spray and tear gas for the terrorists chanting to Jewish students “Go back to the gas chamber?”

This comes on the heels of at least two decades of teaching post-secondary students that America is systemically racist and in recent years this falsehood is even taught in K-12 government schools.

Moreover, Garland said in 2021 that constitutional protections do not extend to threats of violence or efforts to intimidate individuals based on their views. Are Jewish students on high school and college campuses not being intimidated based on their religious views and what about their race? Is Judaism not a race? Aren’t Hamas rioters racists and bigots? Where are the race police on this issue? But what is worse is these terrorists hate America and want us dead. Americans are the only people that Hamas hates more than Jews. In their hateful worldview, America is the “Big Satan,” and Israel is the “Little Satan.”

Children and young adults in America are taught that white Judeo-Christians are oppressors while Muslim squatters are oppressed. We should not be surprised by the illegal activity of these young adults when this is what children have been taught to think and do. But will we stand for it? It is time for freedom-loving, law-abiding Americans to stand boldly and courageously against the threat to our freedom and our very lives.

Marxist professors of the “Frankfurt School” were run out of Germany by the Nazis during World War II and infiltrated Columbia University. Three generations later, a deadline was issued for Hamas supporters to withdraw from their encampments at Columbia University or be expelled. The terrorists forged ahead and forcibly occupied one of the campus buildings. Obviously, expulsion was not the proper deterrent, and I don’t believe the terrorists care about getting an education. The terrorists committing these crimes as well as the terrorists that indoctrinated them to think this way are to blame for this violence and chaos. These students are adults and should be held responsible for their actions. They should face legal prosecution — not expulsion.

College campuses were the ideal space to begin the recent antisemitic terrorist attacks in America because they are the bastion of “free speech.” Is there any ground exempt from the occupation of terrorists in America? We have already seen the rioters in DC. Will it be your hometown next? Are terrorists being strategically placed across the country coming in from Biden’s open border invitation?

Terrorists on college campuses who refuse to dismantle their illegal encampments need to be arrested and, if illegal, deported. If they have visas, they should be revoked. Americans do not negotiate with terrorists. Send them packing or lock them up.

Essentially, this is a war against America’s Judeo-Christian heritage and ground zero for anti-American propaganda warfare in K-12 government schools. Blatant propaganda is no longer limited to colleges and universities where it should have been extinguished long ago. Children are now taught at young ages Critical Marxist theories with an intentional agenda to divide and conquer our country from within. Children are being brainwashed just as they were in China during the Mao regime and in Germany during the Hitler regime.

Americans need to wake up and take a bold and courageous stand against the takeover of our country happening before our very eyes. We need to insist on swift prosecution of true domestic terrorists with every measure of the law. Most of all, we need to take a serious look inside the horrors being taught in government schools, so we can stop this indoctrination at its roots.

Amid the ongoing harassment and bigotry displayed by pro-Hamas protesters on college campuses across the United States, a short video has gone viral featuring a Jewish student at UCLA, wearing a Star of David necklace, being denied passage to his classes by masked activists.

“I’m a UCLA student. I deserve to go here. We pay tuition. "This is our school and they are not letting me walk in,” the student states.

As commentator Dave Rubin noted on X, “Imagine if a black kid was being denied entry to UCLA by white students… We’d all know his name, the NBA season would be cancelled, cities would be burning and dementia man would’ve sent in the national guard.”

Check out the short clip below:

Pro-Palestinian protesters at UCLA stand ground, refuse orders to disperse

Thousands of people took over the University of California, Los Angeles campus Wednesday night, just short of 24 hours after violence broke out between demonstrators in the pro-Palestinian encampment and pro-Israeli counter-protesters.   On Wednesday, Sky5 went overhead as a large law enforcement presence began to position itself on different sides of the encampment. Not long after police showed up, authorities ordered demonstrators to disperse, declaring the encampment an unlawful assembly over a loudspeaker.   Aerial footage showed hundreds of demonstrators locking arms in front of the path leading to the encampment and reinforcing barricades, as law enforcement surrounded the encampment.   Hours later, demonstrators were still occupying the encampment with police on the outskirts despite orders to disperse issued earlier in the afternoon. At around 11 p.m. Tuesday night, some 50 pro-Israeli counter-protesters, many of them dressed in black and wearing white masks, lobbed fireworks at those in the encampment and attempted to dismantle the barricades.

A large mob of anti-Israel protesters broke into an academic building at Columbia University and took control of it on Tuesday morning.

The mob rebranded the well-known hall named after U.S. founding father Alexander Hamilton and displayed a giant flag that read “intifada.”

Footage of the incident showed dozens of anti-Israel protesters breaking into Hamilton Hall and barricading themselves just before 1 a.m., with many using metal barricades, chairs and tables.

One video shows a protester using a hammer to smash through a glass-paneled door. He is also seen locking himself in by wrapping a bike lock around the door handles.

Once anti-Israel protesters were able to gain entry into the building, they quickly covered the cameras with black trash bags and tape, according to the school’s Columbia Daily Spectator.

“We will not leave until Columbia meets every one of our demands,” one activist screamed from a balcony in the building. The group has demanded that the university divest from Israel.

The student-led outlet also reported that the building was locked down within five minutes, with protesters not allowing anyone to enter.

Representative Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) said at a press conference: “The world is watching as the leadership of our so-called elite colleges and universities continue to fail to condemn antisemitism and protect Jewish students on campus.”

The rioters were reportedly still occupying the building on the South Lawn, which has been the location of the school’s anti-Israel encampment for over a week, according to the school paper.

Meanwhile, the campus storming prompted Columbia officials to close the campus on Tuesday, restricting access to everyone except students who currently live there, as well as essential staff.

Additionally, hundreds of protesters covered the outside of the campus building, linking arms to form a human chain, and stopping people from coming through the entrance.

“Hey hey, ho ho, the occupation has got to go,” protesters outside the building could be heard chanting during the wild scenes, according to footage posted to X by an independent news blog.

“We will not leave until Columbia meets every one of our demands,” others raged.

The latest anti-Israel movement comes less than a day after Columbia finally announced they would begin suspending students who refused to leave their tent encampment by 2 p.m. on campus.

The school outlet also stated that when the mob entered the building, there were facilities workers still inside, with one of the workers yelling “They held me hostage!” as he left the building.

“They swarmed the building,” one of the workers told Politico. “I got into a scuffle with a couple of them. "They finally let us out,” the staffer added, showing off a cut on their hand.

In the meantime, Columbia officials have not stated how they plan to address the latest actions by anti-Israel protesters.

Meanwhile, the White House denounced the hostile takeover, saying it was “absolutely the wrong approach” that is “not an example of peaceful protest.”

A slew of anti-Israel protests have been happening at other campuses across the U.S. in the past two weeks.

Yale: Police storm campus with riot gear, arrest students at pro-Hamas protest encampment

“Yale does not tolerate actions, including remarks, that threaten, harass, or intimidate members of the university’s Jewish, Muslim, and other communities.”

No one is harassing, threatening or intimidating Muslim students; nor should they. But the university administration has to add “Muslim” in so as to try to avoid charges of “Islamophobia.”

“Police storm Yale University’s campus with riot gear and arrest students as hundreds stage anti-Israel protest,” by Emily Crane, New York Post, April 22, 2024:

Police clad in riot gear swarmed Yale University’s Connecticut campus early Monday and began arresting students who had been staging an anti-Israel protest encampment there for several days.

Footage posted online showed cops arriving at the Ivy League school and blocking off entrances to a plaza on the New Haven campus, where roughly 200 protesters had been gathered….

As police descended on the campus, a group of defiant students had locked arms around a flagpole and were singing “We shall not be moved” — as officers could be seen checking the dozens of tents erected in the plaza, according to a video posted on X.

While the arrests were underway, others could be heard taunting the Yale Police Department [sic] (YPD), “YPD or KKK, IDF they’re all the same” and chanting, “Arab blood is not cheap, for the martyrs we will speak.”…

This is the fruit of the hard-left indoctrination that passes for university education today.

…Two days after more than 100 students were arrested when the NYPD raided a tent encampment on the Ivy League campus, roughly 200 demonstrators were still going strong on Saturday, chanting, holding signs and waving Palestinian flags.

At least three people were arrested, the NYPD confirmed. Two were cuffed for disorderly conduct and a third was slapped with a summonses for a sound reproduction device.

“Up, up with liberation." Down, down with occupation,” they yelled through the locked campus gate on W. 115th and Broadway….

“We want justice, you say how?" "Stop arming Israel now!” another group chanted.

The students are demanding the university divest from Israel.

“We demand that Columbia sever academic ties with Israeli universities and we demand that Columbia stop censoring and intimidating students who are standing up and advocating for Palestinian liberation,” one student yelled through the gate to the crowd that had gathered on the other side outside of campus.

Over 100 students were arrested at Columbia University on Thursday night.

A line of police officers in riot helmets watched on. A handful of Israeli supporters stood across Broadway — including one who was doused with fake blood for engaging with pro-Palestinian students.

Avi Lichtschein, 37, of Manhattan was walking his dog when the group surrounded him and shouted, “We don’t want no Zionists here!”…

Another pro-Israel bystander, Ross Glick, 50, told The Post his grandparents were Holocaust survivors. The Upper East Side resident grew up in the Midwest during the first intifada but said “this is more concerning.”

“There’s no doubt that there’s a lot of innocent people dying in Gaza but to call it a genocide….What about the 6,000 Muslims that were gassed by Assad?” Glick said.

“If you don’t like it go to Gaza,” he said about the protesters.

The protesters, he said, don’t want a peaceful solution.

Students continued to occupy the lawn area at the Ivy League school on Saturday..

“You don’t hear them talk about peace or co-existence. [It’s] death to Israel,” he said….

Columbia University and Barnard College faculty slammed Thursday’s arrests and demanded that their records be expunged.

The American Association of University Professors at the sister schools issued a statement following a “mass emergency meeting” of faculty on Friday.

“We condemn in the strongest possible terms the Administration’s suspension of students engaged in peaceful protest and their arrest by the New York City Police Department,” according to a statement provided to The Post.

They said Columbia has an “absolute obligation” to protect students’ freedom of speech….

Yeah, except the freedom of speech of those with whom they disagree. If these were Trump supporters or foes of jihad violence who were demonstrating, the American Association of University Professors would be silent, or cheering on their incarceration.

Police clashed with students at Yale University’s Connecticut campus on Monday morning and began arresting students who had been staging an anti-Israel protest for several days.

Video footage posted online showed police arriving and blocking off entrances to a plaza on the New Haven campus, where an estimated 200 protesters had been gathered.

Cops told students that they would be arrested if they continued to protest and not leave, according to the Yale Daily News

Meanwhile, dozens of protesters were handcuffed for trespassing and taken away on Yale University shuttle buses.

During the arrests, protesters could be heard yelling at the Yale Police Department (YPD), “YPD or KKK, IDF they’re all the same!” and chanting, “Arab blood is not cheap, for the martyrs we will speak!”

Authorities cleared the plaza and encampment of student protesters at around 8 a.m.

The latest campus clear-out comes after protests at Yale turned violent over the weekend when a Jewish student was stabbed in the eye with a Palestinian flag on Saturday night.

Sahar Tartak, editor-in-chief of the Yale Free Press, was covering the protest when she was suddenly swarmed by protesters.

“There’s hundreds of people taunting me and waving the middle finger at me, and then this person waves a Palestinian flag in my face and jabs it in my eye,” Tartak told the New York Post.

“When I tried to yell and go after him, the protesters got in a line and stopped me.”

After the brutal incident, Yale president Peter Salovey responded by sending all students an email on Sunday night, saying that the university “will pursue disciplinary actions according to its policies” amid the ongoing demonstrations.

“Many of the students participating in the protests, including those conducting counterprotests, have done so peacefully. However, I am aware of reports of egregious behavior, such as intimidation and harassment, pushing those in crowds, removal of the plaza flag, and other harmful acts,” he wrote.

“Yale does not tolerate actions, including remarks, that threaten, harass, or intimidate members of the university’s Jewish, Muslim, and other communities."

“The Yale Police Department is investigating each report, and we will take action when appropriate, including making referrals for student discipline.”

Northwestern Jew-Haters Protest a Committee to Combat Anti-Semitism~A university’s Brownshirts up the ante.

The anti-Israel, antisemitic Stormtroopers at Northwestern, their ranks consisting of both students and faculty, have been agitating, rioting, and screaming about what they see as the latest outrage by agents of the apartheid, settler-colonial, genocidal state of Israel, which is the decision of the college’s administration to appoint a committee on “preventing antisemitism and hate” on the campus. It’s about time such a committee was formed. The atmosphere at Northwestern is thick with antisemitic and anti-Israel hate; the behavior of these rioting students, and of their faculty collaborators, is hard to stomach. It puts me in mind of what was going on in German universities in the 1930s when all Jewish faculty were fired and Jewish students were harassed and expelled, as the Brownshirts ran riot. Here are the details of the Northwestern administration's response to the rise in on-campus antisemitism, and the fury it has provoked: “Northwestern University Students, Faculty Slam School for Forming Committee to Combat Antisemitism,” by Dion J. Pierre, Algemeiner, November 16, 2023:

Dozens of student groups at Northwestern University just outside Chicago on Thursday dismissed concerns of rising antisemitism amid the Israel-Hamas war as “mass hysteria and collective psychosis,” seemingly calling for the destruction of the Jewish state and joining faculty in castigating the school for forming a new panel to combat Jew-hatred on campus.

On Monday, Northwestern President Michael Schill announced the creation of a new committee “on preventing antisemitism and hate.”…

The school’s Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter has falsely accused Israel of apartheid, genocide, and “settler-colonialism” at its events and in its social media posts. The group also marched around campus earlier this month chanting, “Hey, Schill, what do you say, how many kids did you kill today?” In one incident — in which SJP has denied any involvement — an unknown group vandalized print copies of The Daily Northwestern, the campus newspaper, covering them in leaflets headlined, “Northwestern complicit in genocide of Palestinians.”

In Monday’s announcement, Schill disavowed such activity while noting specifically that chants of “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” are perceived by “significant parts of our community” as “promoting murder and genocide.” The popular slogan among pro-Palestinian activists has been widely interpreted as a call for the destruction of Israel, which is located between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.

Nonetheless, in response to Schill’s announcement, 65 student organizations on Thursday signed an op-ed in The Daily Northwestern that was headlined, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”

“Indeed we know there is a genocide happening, and it is happening to Palestinians by the Israeli apartheid government,” the article read. “Palestine has always served as a litmus test of our collective imagination of what freedom could look like. When we say from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free, we imagine a world free of Islamophobia, antisemitism, anti-Blackness, militarism, occupation, and apartheid. From the river to the seas, Palestine will be free. Until liberation.”

The op-ed dismissed efforts to combat the recent surge in antisemitic incidents on college campuses as “mass hysteria and collective psychosis,” arguing Schill is being “irresponsible” and “dangerous” by “denying genocide” and “mischaracterizing the mission of activists.”

The students also argued that “the destiny of all marginalized people — both in occupied Palestine and around the world — is intertwined. We believe in the liberation of all peoples from Chicago to Sudan to the Congo to Western Sahara to Palestine.”…

“Ah, yes! Let’s lump this highly complicated and charged conflict in with all of the bad things in this world and blame it on the Jews!” Northwestern University student Josh Miller tweeted in response to the column. “I cannot believe that this op-ed ran in The Daily Northwestern.”
The student groups did not mention or denounce the atrocities committed by Hamas terrorists on Oct. 7, when they invaded the Jewish state murdered over 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapped more than 240 others as hostages. The brutality of Hamas’ onslaught — which included rape, torture, and the beheading of babies — has shocked the world.
Also on Thursday, over 150 Northwestern faculty and staff signed a letter accusing Schill of undermining academic freedom and free expression, as well as jeopardizing the safety of “staff and faculty of color.” The letter went on to argue that Israel is committing “genocidal violence in Gaza,” despite the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) taking precautions to prevent civilian casualties….

How has President Schill “undermined academic freedom and free expression”? Apparently, by appointing a committee whose remit is to investigate ways to “prevent antisemitism and hate.” Are we to conclude that the 150 signatories of that letter do not want the university to create a committee to be engaged in such a laudable venture? Why? Could it be because those who falsely accuse the Jewish state of “genocidal violence in Gaza” know perfectly well that this is exactly the kind of “antisemitism and hate” that the new committee will be holding up for denunciation and punishment? And how does this committee in any way jeopardize the safety of “staff and faculty of color”? Or should we conclude that “people of color” are especially prone to “antisemitism and hate”?

Are you left speechless at this ghastly display of wild charges (“genocidal” Israel) and crazed hate at Northwestern? So am I.
