A newly released poll has revealed that over half of Americans, which includes 42% of Democrats, support mass deportations of illegal migrants.

.According to an Axios Vibes survey by the Harris Poll, fifty-one percent of participants said they would support booting undocumented immigrants, as they have taken up taxpayer-funded resources that could be going towards the homeless and veterans of the U.S. instead.

The data also revealed 30% of Democrats and 46% of Republicans claimed they support ending birthright citizenship, which is guaranteed under the Constitution’s 14th Amendment.

21% of pollsters stated that their biggest fear surrounding illegal immigrants was “crime rates, drugs and violence.”

Additionally, 32% of respondents said that the Biden administration was “most responsible” for the current crisis at U.S.-Mexico border.

“I was surprised at the public support for large-scale deportations,” said Mark Penn, chairman of the Harris Poll.

“I think they’re just sending a message to politicians: ‘Get this under control,’” he said, noting that it was a warning to Biden that “efforts to shift responsibility for the issue to [former President Donald] Trump are not going to work.”

Meanwhile, over 7 million illegals have been encountered by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) along the southern border since Biden took over the White House, according to the CBP. The data also showed 961,537 have been encountered this current fiscal year.

Biden has responded to the criticism by shifting blame towards former president Trump, even though Biden’s open border policies and halting of Title 42 led to the crisis.

In the meantime, Trump has made it clear that if re-elected, he will crack down on the problem at the border so that no more U.S. citizens will have to endure violence or murder, like former Georgia nursing student Laken Riley, or drug trafficking at the hands of illegal foreigners who bring fentanyl from Mexico and China.

The Harris Poll was taken in March and April, surveying 6,251 U.S. adults within plus or minus 1.5 percentage points using a 95% confidence level.

A $237 billion state budget that includes measures to encourage home construction and combat unauthorized marijuana stores was approved by New York lawmakers over the weekend.

The package addresses a recent surge of immigrants, expedites the closing of some state prisons, and maintains the policy of allowing people to purchase takeout drinks during the pandemic.

The state Senate and Assembly approved a number of budget bills on Saturday. The budget now goes to Governor Kathy Hochul (D-N.Y.), who is anticipated to sign it into law.

Additionally, $2.4 billion has been set aside by state authorities to assist with the large number of immigrants in New York City’s homeless shelters. The funds will be used for the immigrant population’s housing, legal needs, and medical treatment.

Lawmakers also took action in response to the growing number of unauthorized cannabis shops in New York City. The state has found it difficult to close the stores, which have proliferated throughout the Big Apple, due to bureaucratic obstacles.

The budget also contains provisions that would make it easier for local law enforcement to close down establishments suspected of selling marijuana illegally while their legal cases are pending, which would help address the issue. Previously, the state was solely responsible for the majority of enforcement, and these types of establishments could remain open while a drawn-out appeals process took place.

Hochul and leading legislative leaders engaged in private negotiations that centered mostly around a comprehensive plan to stimulate the state’s housing market.

Developers who agree to rent a share of the units in new buildings below the market rate will receive a tax benefit under the plan. Though not as extensive as many advocates had hoped, the agreement also contains protections against evictions and unjustified rent increases for some residents.

Governor Hochul made a statement after the budget’s passage, saying:

“In my State of the state, I promised New Yorkers we’d fight to build more housing, improve education and protect public safety — and that’s exactly what our budget is going to do.

“This budget agreement represents the most significant improvement in housing policy in three generations. This includes transformative investments in health care and education that will put our state on the path to fiscal stability. It will end co-pays for insulin, establish first-in-the-nation paid prenatal leave, and launch the EmpireAI consortium. This budget cracks down on retail theft and gives us new tools to shut down illicit cannabis storefronts. It helps the children of New York City by extending mayoral accountability for public schools. We got it all done without raising income taxes by a single cent.

“I’m grateful to Speaker Heastie, Leader Stewart-Cousins and my colleagues in the Legislature for their collaboration on this agreement, and look forward to continuing to work together.”

During floor debates, state Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt (R-N.Y.) attacked the proposal, claiming it would attract more illegal migrants to New York.

“We made a lot of tough decisions in this budget,” Ortt said. “But 2.4 billion goes a long way, and I just wonder what that could have done in other parts of the budget for legal New Yorkers.”

Additionally, in an effort to conserve money in light of the state’s decreasing prison population, New York will expedite the closure of up to five state prisons. The governor will decide which jails to close by March of next year. The state’s corrections administration reports that since 2011, the state has closed two dozen prisons due to vacant beds, saving approximately $442 million a year.

The budget also included provisions to allow movie theaters to sell hard liquor, extend the pandemic-era sale of to-go alcoholic drinks, and allow New York City to lower its speed limits. These measures would also provide paid time off during pregnancy.

The state office responsible for drafting laws for the Legislature was affected by a cyberattack, which delayed the budget’s finalization by almost three weeks from its planned deadline of April 1st.

Border patrol releases Afghan Muslim migrant on terror watch list into U.S.

SEE: https://www.jihadwatch.org/2024/04/border-patrol-releases-afghan-muslim-migrant-on-terror-watch-list-into-u-s; republished below in full, unedited, for informational, educational, & research purposes:

What could possibly go wrong? After all, the feds have to devote all of their resources to catching “insurrectionists.”

“Man on terror watchlist was released by Border Patrol,” by Julia Ainsley, Didi Martinez and Laura Strickler, NBC News, April 11, 2024:

SAN ANTONIO — An Afghan migrant on a terrorist watchlist spent nearly a year inside the U.S. after he was apprehended and released by Border Patrol agents last year, U.S. officials told NBC News. The man was arrested in February and then released again last month again by an immigration judge who was not told he was a national security threat.

Mohammad Kharwin, 48, was freed on bond as he awaited an immigration hearing in Texas scheduled for 2025, U.S. officials said. There were no restrictions on his movements inside the U.S.

(After this article was published, a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said Kharwin was taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents late Thursday evening. A source familiar with the matter said that, “based on the information currently available, there is no reason to believe this individual entered the country as part of a terrorist mission.”)

Kharwin was initially apprehended on March 10, 2023, near San Ysidro, California, after having crossed the Mexico-U.S. border illegally.

Border agents suspected he was on a U.S. terrorist watchlist when he was apprehended because one piece of information matched a person on the list. But the agents lacked corroborating information, which officials declined to describe, that would confirm Kharwin was the person they suspected, U.S. officials said.

After it processed Kharwin and took his biometric data, Customs and Border Protection released him as it would any other migrant, without alerting Immigration and Customs Enforcement about possible terrorism ties, U.S. officials said.

Kharwin was referred to ICE’s Alternatives to Detention Program, requiring him to check in periodically by phone with an ICE officer. He was able to apply for asylum and work authorization and fly domestically in the U.S., the officials said.

Kharwin is on the national terrorist watchlist maintained by the FBI, which includes the names of 1.8 million people considered potential security risks. The database indicates he is a member of Hezb-e-Islami, or HIG, a political and paramilitary organization that the U.S. has designated a terrorist organization.

According to the national intelligence director’s office, HIG is a “virulently anti-Western insurgent group” that sought to overturn the Western-backed Afghan government before its fall in 2021. HIG was responsible for attacks in Afghanistan that killed at least nine American soldiers and civilians from 2013 to 2015. The group is not seen as a top threat in terms of attacks inside the U.S….

The case illustrates the challenges U.S. officials face in identifying migrants who may pose national security threats. Kharwin’s case is the third incident in two years in which Customs and Border Protection has released migrants with suspected terrorist ties.  A migrant with ties to the Somali terror group al-Shabaab was arrested this year in Minnesota after having lived in the U.S. for nearly a year, the Daily Caller reported….

President Joe Biden is now considering giving illegal immigrants amnesty “in an effort to address the escalating immigration situation,” according to Politico.

In response to ongoing criticism regarding how Biden has not taken enough action on illegal immigration or the southern border issue, the president and his administration say that they are now considering a number of alternatives to adopt a more “aggressive” position, the White House claimed.

According to three sources familiar with the plans who spoke to Politico, the administration may begin awarding green cards to illegal immigrants who have lived in the U.S. for a “considerable amount of time,” thus granting them amnesty to remain there.

The proposal would reportedly let immigrants who have been in the nation for more than ten years apply for the cancellation of the removal program, given that their relatives would “suffer” if they were to be deported.

If an immigration judge confirms a migrant’s request for cancellation of removal and they complete the standards, they will be granted a special green card, giving them permanent residency.

According to the three officials who spoke with Politico, it would also be part of a bigger push by Biden to act on behalf of illegals who have long resided in the country. Additionally, the government has considered extending even more assistance to states and towns like Denver, Colorado, and New York City that have welcomed a sizable influx of illegal immigrants.

Biden previously claimed that he needed permission from Congress to take action on the southern border crisis or illegal immigration, even going so far as to accuse Republican lawmakers of blocking him.

“I’ve done all I can do. Just give me the power. I’ve asked from the very day I got into office,” Biden claimed on January 30th.

New York Doomed to Be Migrant Central

Who wouldn't come?

SEE: https://www.frontpagemag.com/new-york-doomed-to-be-migrant-central/; republished below in full, unedited, for informational, educational, & research purposes:

[Pre-order a copy of David Horowitz’s next book, America Betrayed, by clicking here. Orders will begin shipping on May 7th.]

Mayor Eric Adams’ agreement to limit the time migrants can stay in shelters at taxpayers’ expense, is smoke and mirrors. It’s designed to fool you into thinking he’s solving a problem when he’s caving to the migrant industrial complex.

Adams claims the agreement, with the Legal Aid Society and the Coalition for the Homeless, will allow the city to evict adult migrants from city-run shelters after 30 days, saving taxpayers money and limiting the need for more shelters. Not true.

The fine print says migrants have a shot at staying longer if they obtain a driver’s license, follow shelter rules and show good behavior, or — get this one — apply for public benefits. And this is a “non-exhaustive” list of reasons making migrants eligible to stay longer.

The agreement also applies only to single adults. A staggering 78% come with children and get priority placement in hotels. The city currently spends a whopping $387 a night for food and a roof alone for each family, and shells out more money for free medical care, education and legal services. This agreement does zero to alleviate those staggering costs.

The deal dooms New York City to fiscal disaster, because it will continue to be the No. 1 destination for migrants seeking a free roof over their heads. The Big Apple is now Migrant Central.

Worst of all, nothing in the agreement empowers the mayor to evict troublemakers who have repeated run-ins with police. The migrants who beat up cops in Times Square were living in shelters, courtesy of taxpayers, and already had long rap sheets.

When troublemakers are arrested and given a shelter address, the shelter should be contacted and told they no longer qualify. Why should taxpayers be footing the bill to house criminals?

Notorious gangs like Tren de Aragua and MS-13 recruit from the shelters. How convenient that taxpayers pay to house these gangs’ lackeys.

In October, Adams imposed a 30-day limit on adult migrants but wound up in court when Legal Aid and the Coalition challenged. A long negotiation ensued, ending with Friday’s agreement.

Since 1981, Legal Aid and the Coalition have fought successfully to impose a “right to shelter” on New York. Now these two self-appointed guardians of the downtrodden — not elected by anyone — insist that the “right” applies not just to New Yorkers but anyone from anywhere in the world who wants shelter here. That’s crazy.

After months of negotiating, Adams capitulated. No one at the table was looking out for taxpayers or New Yorkers who saw their services being cut and their neighborhoods disrupted by the proliferation of shelters. The multibillion-dollar shelter industry came out a winner, but Joe Public was shafted.

As the agreement was announced, Deputy Mayor Anne Williams-Isom praised the “right to shelter” and Legal Aid Society for the work they do. They’re all in bed together.

Josh Goldfein, a Legal Aid attorney, explained that despite the settlement, “no migrant would be left out on the streets.” In fact, the agreement bans the city from even making migrants sleep overnight in chairs while waiting to be placed, imposing stricter shelter requirements than before.

A “right to shelter” for anyone who shows up on Gotham’s doorsteps means New Yorkers who want sanitation services, police and fire protection, and other city amenities go to the back of the line. Their services get cut to pay for sheltering migrants. Adams needs to battle aggressively, up through the highest courts, to get that “right” reexamined.

Only New York has a “right to shelter,” and it makes the city the top destination for migrants. New York City spends more than 10 times as much as Los Angeles per migrant and more than five times as much as Chicago.

To top it off, the agreement and the Adams administration are renaming migrants “new arrivals,” whitewashing the laws they broke to get here.

Expect hundreds of thousands more to see these welcome signs and come. Who wouldn’t come?

Adams recently praised the city’s “responsible policies” and blamed “Republican extremists” for the border crisis. Sorry, Mr. Mayor, but the crisis here in New York City is due to the lavish benefits local Democrats insist on offering “new arrivals.” There’s no whitewashing that.

Lebanese Migrant Detained At Border With Bomb Supplies Admits Ties To Hezbollah

Lebanese Migrant Detained At Border With Bomb Supplies Admits Ties To Hezbollah

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) told the press that a 22-year-old Lebanese immigrant who was detained on March 9th for entering the country illegally near El Paso, Texas, claimed to be a former member of Hezbollah who was traveling to New York and intended “to make a bomb.”

However, other reports have stated that he is a current member of Hezbollah.

According to the New York Post, Basell Ebbadi informed federal officials that he had been trained for seven years by the Iran-backed terrorist group and had worked for four more years as an armed guard at weapons facilities.

Ebbadi admitted to the agents that he intended “to make a bomb” after entering the United States. Before attempting to enter the country, the Lebanese man explained that he had a fake identification card with a false identity and birthday.

Ebbadi was also acting quite confidently, according to a CBP source, who labeled him as “bloviating and acting with machismo.”

He is now marked for deportation.

This occurs at a time when, according to federal officials, migrant interactions with the U.S. Border Patrol in the El Paso Sector have continued to increase over the last few weeks. In the last two weeks, border officials in the area have encountered at least 1,100 migrants on an average day. It is a combination of groups of undocumented foreign nationals attempting to avoid arrest and conviction in their own countries as well as asylum-seekers attempting to surrender at the border wall in order to live a better life.

Hezbollah is known as one of the world’s most dangerous terrorist groups. Its aim is to completely annihilate Israel, similar to that of Hamas. Arab media sources have even reported that the terrorist group applauded Hamas’s October 7th terrorist operation inside Israel.

According to Reuters, the terror group stated that it was in direct contact with the leadership of the Palestinian resistance throughout the strike against Israel on October 7th.

The U.S. Border Patrol has detected at least 59 individuals who are on terror watchlists attempting to pass between ports of entry since October, continuing a notable trend that began after Joe Biden was elected in 2021. According to official data, less than ten individuals on the list were encountered annually during the fiscal years 2017 and 2020.

Ebbadi is now being imprisoned at the El Paso Sector Hardened Facility.

“Jordanian man arrested in Florida for antisemitic threats against Orthodox Jews,” Jerusalem Post, March 10, 2024:

A man in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, is under investigation for what authorities are calling anti-Semitic attacks, as reported by Local 10 News.

Mohamed Al Saccal, 39, has been accused of using a sharp object, described by some victims as a dagger, to threaten Orthodox Jews in the community.

According to Sgt. Brain Schnell, this incident is part of a disturbing trend of harassment targeting members of the Jewish community over the past three days.

Al Saccal allegedly chased the couple on their way to a synagogue along Collins Avenue, yelling anti-Semitic sentiments and threatening their lives.

According to the report, Al Saccal, a resident of Sunny Isles Beach born in Jordan, is currently in custody, facing charges of aggravated assault.

Authorities are considering upgrading these charges to hate crimes in light of the nature of his actions….

Josh Hawley GOES OFF on HHS for 85,000 Unaccompanied Migrant Children, abused, forced to work in sweatshops

During the testimony of federal officials on the situation of unaccompanied migrant children, Robin Dunn Marcos faced criticism from Josh Hawley and Lindsey Graham. Seema Nanda, the solicitor of labor for the U.S. Labor Department, revealed to the Senate Judiciary Committee that there has been an 88% increase in the number of children employed illegally since 2019. Along with representatives from the State, Homeland Security, and Health and Human Services Departments, Ms. Nanda discussed various aspects related to the well-being and safety of unaccompanied minors at the border. These included resource requirements, border security, enforcement of child labor laws, and the provision of care and services for these children, as well as protocols for identifying and assisting trafficked minors.
