President Donald Trump demanded Thursday that courts stop blocking his agenda, edging closer to a constitutional showdown after a judge suggested the administration ignored an order to block summary deportations.

A federal judge, in a strongly worded order, gave the Justice Department until Tuesday to explain why it went ahead with flights to prison in El Salvador of Venezuelan migrants, some of whom say they committed no crime and were targeted only for their tattoos.

Trump, in a scathing attack on the judiciary that would have been unthinkable coming from most presidents, demanded that the Supreme Court intervene.

"It is our goal to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, and such a high aspiration can never be accomplished if Radical and Highly Partisan Judges are allowed to stand in the way of JUSTICE," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post aimed at Chief Justice John Roberts.

"STOP NATIONWIDE INJUNCTIONS NOW, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE," Trump wrote in all capital letters.

"If Justice Roberts and the United States Supreme Court do not fix this toxic and unprecedented situation IMMEDIATELY, our Country is in very serious trouble!"

Roberts, who was nominated by Republican George W. Bush, a day earlier issued a rare rebuke by the country's top justice to remarks by the president after Trump called for the impeachment of the judge who ruled on the immigration case.

"For more than two centuries, it has been established that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision," Roberts said in a brief statement.

"The normal appellate review process exists for that purpose."

James Boasberg, the chief judge of the U.S. District Court in Washington, on Saturday issued an emergency order against the deportation of Venezuelans as they sought legal recourse.

He said that two flights in the air needed to turn around. El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele, who has offered to take in prisoners on the cheap from Latin America's largest prison, responded on social media: "Oopsie... Too late."

In a new order on Thursday, Boasberg said that an acting field office director for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement explained that the Trump administration was considering justifying its actions by saying the issue was a matter of "state secrets."

"This is woefully insufficient," Boasberg wrote, saying that "the Government again evaded its obligations."

He said that a regional official in charge of immigration enforcement was not in a position to attest to cabinet-level arguments against a federal court order.

He gave the Trump administration until Tuesday to explain why it did not violate his restraining order.

It was unclear if contempt of court charges or other remedies might be on the table.

Trump Slams ‘Radical Left Lunatic Judge’ in Deportation Case

President Donald Trump early Wednesday once again slammed U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, calling him a "Radical Left Lunatic Judge" for his weekend order to stop deportation flights from removing alleged gang members from the country.

"If a President doesn't have the right to throw murderers and other criminals out of our Country because a Radical Left Lunatic Judge wants to assume the role of President, then our Country is in very big trouble and destined to fail!" The president posted on his Truth Social page, a day after a separate post calling for Boasberg's impeachment.

Boasberg, a District of Columbia federal judge appointed by former President Barack Obama, Saturday issued a 14-day temporary block on Trump being able to use the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 while deporting 238 alleged members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.

In his order, Boasberg, the chief judge of the federal district court, said that any flights in the air with the deportees should return to the United States, but the Trump administration argues that the planes were already gone when the order was issued.

Trump on Tuesday said in an interview that "many people" have called for Boasberg's impeachment.

"I don't know who the judge is, but he's radical left," he told Fox News. "He was Obama-appointed, and he said we shouldn't be able to take criminals, killers, murderers, horrible, the worst people, gang members, gang leaders, that we shouldn't be allowed to take them out of our country. It's not for a local judge to be making that determination."

Trump also dismissed a rebuke from Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, who issued a statement after Trump called for the judge to be impeached, saying, "For more than two centuries, it has been established that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision. The normal appellate review process exists for that purpose."

"He didn't mention my name in the statement," Trump said. "I just saw it quickly. He didn't mention my name."

Meanwhile, Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, on Tuesday introduced a resolution to impeach Boasberg.

To impeach a federal judge, a simple majority must be reached in the House, but would then go to the Senate, where a trial would be held. It would take a two-thirds majority vote in the Senate to convict the judge and remove him from the bench.

Actress and singer Selena Gomez uploaded a video of herself crying over President Donald Trump and U.S. Border Czar Tom Homan’s deportation campaign on Monday before quickly deleting the post.

Gomez’s recent sobbing video, which was posted on Instagram before being deleted, comes amidst the Trump administration’s mass deportation campaign.

The new administration has vowed to expel the mass influx of illegal immigrants from the country following the Biden administration’s loose “catch and release” border policies.

Biden and Harris’ border policies, overseen by former DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, saw states like New York demand more federal assistance from Biden — while cutting federal funds for certain police and fire departments in order to redistribute that money to better accommodate foreign asylum seekers.

In the now-deleted video, Gomez declared: “All my people are getting attacked, the children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry, I wish I could do something but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.”

Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has revealed that almost 1,000 illegal immigrants have been arrested since January 20th.

Last week, Trump’s appointed border czar, Tom Homan, also reminded the public that deportation flights are now occurring daily.

“You’re going to see the numbers steadily increase, the number of arrests nationwide, as we open up the aperture,” Homan recently stated, revealing that the agency is currently focused on targeting violent migrant criminals who pose an immediate threat to communities across the country.

Users took to social media to criticize Gomez’s Instagram post, with one user responding: “The tears from celebs are ridiculous. This is exactly why we don’t care about what they say. They don’t cry for American lives being lost!”

“She is a hypocrite crying over the missing children, the fentanyl, the murders,” another responded.

After Gomez deleted her post, she responded to the backlash in another post, but ignored all comments pertaining to the murder, rape, theft, and other crimes committed by undocumented foreigners who illegally crossed the border during the Biden administration, writing: “Apparently it’s not ok to show empathy for people.”

Additionally, Homan soon responded to Gomez’s video as well. He strongly asserted that he offers “no apologies” for leading the deportation efforts during a Fox News segment on Monday.

“If they don’t like it, then go to Congress and change the law,” Homan stated.

“We’re going to do this operation without apology. We’re going to make our community safer,” he continued. “It is all for the good of this nation. And we’re going to keep going. No apologies. We’re moving forward.”

President Donald Trump slammed Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro for refusing to accept deportation flights while vowing to respond with tariffs and travel bans for Colombian officials.

Socialist Colombian President Petro announced on Sunday that the country is refusing to accept deportation fights into the country, before quickly reversing course following Trump’s tariff threat.

“The U.S. cannot treat Colombian migrants as criminals. I deny the entry of American planes carrying Colombian migrants into our territory. The United States must establish a protocol for the dignified treatment of migrants before we receive them,” Petro wrote in an X post.

Two U.S. military flights headed towards Colombia, presumably carrying illegal Colombian migrants, were forced to turn back after Petro’s declaration, according to a flight tracker.

President Trump responded to Petro’s announcement on Sunday, writing “I was just informed that two repatriation flights from the United States, with a large number of illegal Criminals, were not allowed to land in Colombia. This order was given by Colombia’s Socialist President Gustavo Petro, who is already very unpopular amongst his people.”

“Petro’s denial of these flights has jeopardized the National Security and Public Safety of the United States, so I have directed my administration to immediately take the following urgent and decisive retaliatory measures,” Trump continued.

The measures include an “Emergency 25% tariffs on all goods coming into the United States. In one week, the 25% tariff will rise to 50%,” along with “Visa Sanctions on all Party Members, Family Members, and Supporters of the Colombian Government.”

Trump also vowed to implement a travel ban and “immediate Visa Revocations on Colombian government officials,” as well as “Enhanced Customs and Border Protection inspections of all Colombian Nationals and Cargo on national security grounds.”

“These measures are just the beginning. We will not allow the Colombian Government to violate its legal obligations with regard to the acceptance and return of the Criminals they forced into the United States!”

Following Trump’s threat, the Colombian government quickly caved, even offering its own presidential plane to accept Colombian nationals who illegally migrated to the United States.

“The Colombian Government, under the leadership of President Gustavo Petro, has arranged for the presidential plane to facilitate the dignified return of the compatriots who were to arrive in the country this morning from deportation flights. This measure responds to the Government’s commitment to guarantee dignified conditions,” the Colombian government wrote in an official statement.

Trump responded to the swift victory with an AI image depicting him in a mobster-like outfit, along with the phrase “FAFO” which means “F*** around and find out.”

Colombia’s decision to refuse to accept Colombian migrants and quickly reverse course follows a similar scenario Mexico recently underwent after defying Trump’s deportation orders, only to quickly reverse course after President Trump applied pressure.

“Thanks to President Trump: Yesterday, Mexico accepted a record 4 deportation flights in 1 day!” press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced in a Friday X post.

“This comes in addition to unrestricted returns at the land border, the deportation of non-Mexicans & reinstatement of Remain-in-Mexico. Mexico has also mobilized 30k National Guard,” she added.

Over the weekend, Boston’s sanctuary city designation was highlighted by Democrat Mayor Michelle Wu, as Donald Trump, the incoming president, intensifies his plans to deport large numbers of illegal immigrants shortly after he enters his second term.

“The last thing we want is for people who are part of our economy, part of our school system, part of our community and the fabric of our city, to feel that all of a sudden they have to retreat into the shadows,” Wu said during an interview on Sunday, speaking about illegal aliens living in Boston.

When the city passed the Trust Act, which forbids Boston police from questioning, detaining, or arresting someone for non-criminal immigration enforcement purposes, Wu was a city councilor. Nevertheless, when the act was first enacted in 2014 and when it was updated in 2019, she backed it.

“The ordinance does allow police to cooperate with federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement on criminal investigations, like human trafficking and drug trafficking,” according to WBUR, a local Boston outlet.

Boston’s sanctuary status, according to Wu, is crucial to ensuring that undocumented immigrants in the city feel at ease and are thriving.

“We want immigrants to know that it is safe for everyone, to be able to feel comfortable reaching out for emergency services, to report a crime, to ask for help, and generally to be part of our community,” she said.

Trump’s deportation plans have also been resisted by other Massachusetts politicians.

According to Democrat Governor Maura Healey, Massachusetts police will “absolutely not” help with immigration enforcement. Attorney General Andrea Campbell informed reporters that she and other Democratic attorneys general nationwide are ready to file litigation against the next administration. During her tenure as attorney general, Healey filed around 100 lawsuits against the Trump administration.

Wu added more context to her view on the situation.

“Elections have consequences, and the federal government is responsible for a certain set of actions, and a city, no individual city, can reverse or override some parts of that,” she claimed. “But what we can do is make sure that we are doing our part to protect our residents in every possible way, and that we are not cooperating with those efforts that threaten the safety of everyone by causing widespread fear and and having a large scale economic impact.”

Many illegal immigrants have been arrested by ICE in the Boston region in the last few years, being charged with crimes such as child sex offenses, and then released back into society.

This month, ICE declared that it had detained an illegal immigrant from Colombia who had been charged with luring a minor under the age of sixteen, distributing obscene pornographic material, and lascivious posing and exhibiting a child in the nude. According to the agency, ICE’s detainer request against him was disregarded.

ICE officers in Boston also made five arrests in March, including four suspected child rapists and a member of MS-13, a group of potentially dangerous criminals the officers claim were released due to local sanctuary policies that rejected detainer requests.

But it is unlikely that the Trump administration will be deterred by those states’ and localities’ lack of cooperation. President-elect Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, had a message for those jurisdictions this month.

“If you don’t want to work with us, then get the hell out all the way. We’re going to do it. What that means is, rather than sending 100 people to Boston, we’re going to send 200 agents to Boston. We’re going to get the job done,” Homan said.

Meanwhile, conservative social media users highlighted the clear “double standard,” arguing that Democrat detractors of illegal immigration deportation are hypocritical.

“Democrats say we should hate Trump and shouldn’t have voted for him since he’s a ‘criminal,’ talking about his lawfare court cases, yet when it’s a foreigner breaking the law who’s a REAL criminal and doesn’t respect the system enough to come here legally, they want to support, feed, and house them?? Make it make sense,” posted one Truth Social user.

Trump Confirms Illegal Alien Deportation Plan: ‘Largest Deportation Program In American History’

President-elect Donald Trump confirmed that he plans on declaring a national emergency while utilizing “military assets” to enact a mass deportation campaign, reversing the flood of millions of illegal migrants who exploited the relaxed border policies under the Biden administration.

Trump’s confirmation was made apparent in a Truth Social post on Monday, in response to a report from conservative activist Tom Fitton.

“GOOD NEWS: Reports are the incoming @RealDonaldTrump administration is prepared to declare a national emergency and will use military assets to reverse the Biden invasion through a mass deportation program,” Fitton wrote, to which Trump responded, “TRUE!!!”

Trump has also previously detailed his plans to initiate a mass deportation campaign “On Day 1.”

“On Day 1, I will launch the largest deportation program in American history to get the criminals out,” Trump previously stated at a Madison Square Garden rally prior to Election Day. “I will rescue every city and town that has been invaded and conquered, and we will put these vicious and bloodthirsty criminals in jail, then kick them the hell out of our country as fast as possible.”

However, political analysts have noted that the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 could possibly present a roadblock for Trump’s plan, as the act limits the federal government’s ability to utilize the military to enforce domestic policy.

Nevertheless, the U.S. National Guard could also be a loophole that Trump utilizes, as the 1878 act doesn’t prohibit the National Guard from filling in and enforcing Trump’s executive action.

“If the incoming administration were to pursue such a strategy, it might involve deploying National Guard units or other military resources under different legal frameworks, potentially framing it as a public safety or humanitarian effort. However, this approach would most certainly provoke considerable backlash from civil rights groups and the public,” stated an anonymous ICE source, according to the New York Post.

Military defense attorney David Younts revealed that the military could be involved in more of a “support role,” providing logistics, security at detention centers and drone surveillance, even if it wouldn’t be allowed to detain illegal immigrants.

“When I worked with the National Guard, we would do things with the FBI, ATF or DEA. We would be doing a large bust and we would provide overwatch from helicopters, we would provide drone support, we would do all of those things,” Younts added.

Meanwhile, Trump’s appointed “border czar,” former acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement chief Tom Homan, explained that he will work to remove illegal immigrants from every city, regardless of their “sanctuary” status.

“I’ve been clear. President Trump’s been clear. Public safety and national security threats will be a priority because they have to be, they pose the most danger to this country,” Homan recently stated. “If they’re not willing to do it, then get out of the way – we’re coming.”

The American Immigration Council estimates that there are currently 11 million illegals residing in the United States, and the process of removing them could end up costing billions of dollars annually. However, other groups have disputed that number and have highlighted that this is a national security issue that needs to be dealt with immediately.
