Unlike their Western counterparts, many Muslims are fond of their heroes of the past — particularly the jihadist types who for centuries thrived on terrorizing the West.

This was recently underscored by Barbaros: Sword of the Mediterranean, a television series written and produced in Turkey that aired late last year, and is dedicated to highlighting the clash between Islam and Christendom — in a way, of course, that demonizes the latter and extols the former.

The highly fictionalized series revolves around four Muslim brothers and their naval exploits and battles against the Christian maritime states of the Mediterranean.

While the series portrays the brothers as great heroes who sacrificed much to “defend” the Ottoman Empire against Christian Europe, history — real, actual, recorded history — has a different tale to tell.

In brief, the four brothers began life as common Barbary pirates (“corsairs”). The eldest of these brothers, Oruch, was notoriously sadistic, and once “ripped out the throat of a Christian with his teeth and ate the tongue,” to quote historian Roger Crowley in Empires of the Sea. He also “tied the head of a Hospitaller knight to a rope and twirled it like a globe until the eyeballs popped. In Spain and southern Italy, people crossed themselves at his name.”

Due to the brothers’ many successful exploits against and slave raids on Europe, they eventually caught the eye of Ottoman sultan Suleiman “the Great.” Around 1520, the sultan took one of these Barbary brother pirates, Khair al-Din Barbarossa (d. 1546), whom the series is named after, into his service and helped him prosecute an especially ferocious jihad on Europe. Claiming that “Allah had made him to frighten Christians,” Barbarossa wrought havoc along the Christian Mediterranean, rarely withdrawing without thousands of captives. In one instance, on the island of Minorca, in the midst of the devastation, he left a message pinned to the tail of a horse in which he vowed that he would not rest “until I have killed the last one of you and enslaved your women, your daughters, and your children.”

Over the following two decades, hundreds of thousands of Europeans were enslaved, so that, by 1541, “Algiers teemed with Christian captives, and it became a common saying that a Christian slave was scarce a fair barter for an onion.”

This, apparently, is what Turkey is proud of — Muslims who “defend” Islam by invading Western lands to terrorize, slaughter, and enslave its people on the “grievance” that the unrepentant Christians are infidels who refuse the summons of Islam.

Nor is this sentiment limited to an obscure movie producer and a few Turks; it’s shared all the way at the top of the Turkish hierarchy. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan habitually praises those Turkish heroes and sultans of the past who most terrorized, slaughtered, and enslaved Europeans, such as Muhammad II, the conqueror of Constantinople — and a notorious pedophile to boot, as both Turkish and European chronicles attest.

The message could not be clearer: invading and conquering neighboring peoples — not due to any real grievances, but because they are non-Muslim — with all the attending atrocities, rapes, destruction, and mass slavery, is a laudable thing, apparently to be emulated once convenient.

Nor is such thinking limited to Turkey. As one report states, “[t]he television series was a Turkish and Algerian collaboration and is also being aired in Pakistan, spreading the Islam versus Christian rhetoric to other parts of the Muslim world.”

As such, perhaps now is a fitting time to announce the forthcoming publication of my latest book: Defenders of the West: The Christian Heroes Who Stood Against Islam. It is, in two primary ways, the antithesis of what regularly comes out of Turkey and other Muslim nations concerning the history between Islam and the West. First, it deals with Christian heroes who actually stood their ground against Islam, often in highly defiant terms — so that they are often seen as the greatest enemies of Islam’s heroes. Second, it actually offers facts, not propaganda (the book contains over one thousand endnote citations, mostly to primary source references).

Federal Court Blocks Pentagon from Punishing Navy Seals Seeking Religious Exemptions to COVID Vaccine Mandate

On Jan. 3, 2022, a group of Navy Seals declining to take the COVID-19 vaccine due to religious reasons, received protection in the form of a preliminary injunction from a federal court in the Northern District of Texas Fort Worth.¹ ²

The COVID vaccine mandate instituted by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) requires that all U.S. military personnel receive the COVID vaccine by Dec. 14, 2021.³ While religious exemptions are permitted, the Navy has failed to approve even a single one of the 3,247 requests for a religious exemption.⁴

Navy Seals Argue COVID Vaccine Mandate Violates Free Exercise of Religion Clause of U.S. Constitution and Religious Freedom Restoration Act

In response, 35 Navy Seals represented by the First Liberty Institute filed a lawsuit against President Joe Biden alleging that they faced disciplinary repercussions for filing a religious exemption, including being kept apart from vaccinated colleagues as well as dismissals.⁵ The Navy Seals Complaint argues that that the Navy violated the Free Exercise of Religion Clause of the Constitution and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) when no action was taken on their religious exemption requests.⁶

U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor sided with the Navy Seals and ruled against the Biden administration’s COVID vaccine mandate. He issued a preliminary injunction blocking the Navy from punishing the Navy Seals who had filed religious exemption. The injunction barred the Navy from declaring the unvaccinated Navy Seals non-deployable or disqualified from Special Operations.⁷

The Court pointed out that not only did the Navy fail to grant a single exemption for COVID vaccines, but it has not approved any religious exemption for any vaccine at all over the past seven years.⁸ The judge stated that even if the religious exemptions were granted, the Navy said the Seals would be considered, “medically disqualified” and would be forever prevented from deployment and from receiving bonuses and incentive pay – even though Navy personnel with medical vaccine exemptions do not face the same severe consequences.

Some Navy Seals were informed that they would lose their Seal Tridents if they were granted a religious exemption to vaccination or even if they just applied for one.⁹

Court Applied Strict Scrutiny Analysis to Justify Injunction

The Court came to the same conclusion on both the RFRA and the First Amendment claims. Because the Navy treated medical exemptions differently than religious exemptions, the court applied strict scrutiny analysis and found that the Navy did not have, “a compelling interest justifying the substantial burden on Plaintiff’s religious beliefs.”¹⁰

Once a substantial burden to their religious beliefs was established by Plaintiffs, the Defendants must then show that the burden furthers a compelling interest and that they are using the least restrictive means to further that interest. The Judge explained that it is not enough for the Defendants to show their policy furthers a broad compelling interest such as “national security”, but rather they must show a compelling interest in vaccinating the 35 individual Plaintiffs in this matter.

With a 99.4 percent vaccination rate, the Court concluded that the Defendants do not have a compelling interest in vaccinating the Plaintiffs in this case. The Court further stressed that the fact that unvaccinated Navy personnel with medical exemptions are still eligible for deployment belies the compelling nature of the vaccinations policy. Since the Plaintiff’s policy was deemed not to be compelling, the Court did not need to address whether it used the least restrictive means before issuing an injunction.¹¹

The Court concluded that the Plaintiffs suffered irreparable harm from the vaccine mandate.

Plaintiffs have suffered the more serious injury of “infringement of their religious liberty rights under RFRA and the First Amendment . . . .” Pls.’ Br. 28, ECF No. 16. The crisis of conscience imposed by the mandate is itself an irreparable harm. See BST Holdings, 17 F.4th at 618; Sambrano v. United Airlines, 19 F.4th 839, 842 (5th Cir. 2021) (Ho, J., dissenting) (citing Sampson v. Murray, 415 U.S. 61, 92 n.68 (1974)). “The loss of First Amendment freedoms, for even minimal periods of time, unquestionably constitutes irreparable injury.” Elrod, 427 U.S. at 373 (plurality opinion).¹² (emphasis added)

“There is no COVID-19 exception to the First Amendment. There is no military exclusion from our Constitution.”

Finally, the Court found that that balance of hardships favors the Plaintiffs because their loss of liberty outweighs the Defendant’s interest in vaccinating the 35 Navy Seals and that it was not against the public interest to issue a preliminary injunction.

Judge O’Connor stated:

The Navy servicemembers in this case seek to vindicate the very freedoms they have sacrificed so much to protect. The COVID-19 pandemic provides the government no license to abrogate those freedoms. There is no COVID-19 exception to the First Amendment. There is no military exclusion from our Constitution.¹³

As of Dec. 29, 2021, over a month after the vaccine mandate deadline passed, more than 8,000 Navy service members, 5,328 active duty and 3,002 Ready Reserve, have not received COVID vaccines.¹⁴

There are several other lawsuits pending against the Biden administration, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro, and DoD that are attempting to block the COVID vaccine mandate.¹⁵

Why We Are No Longer an SBC Church: A Statement by Josh Buice

One of the great joys of my life has been serving as the pastor of three different churches that have been affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. I currently serve the church where my wife and I grew up as children on the west side of Atlanta—Pray’s Mill Baptist Church. Although our church is 180 years old and predates the SBC, our congregation has maintained a longtime affiliation within the SBC. However, in recent days we came to the conclusion that there was no profitable path forward for us within the SBC and we made the decision to officially separate.

Over the last few years, there has been a great deal of transition and change within the Southern Baptist Convention. That’s a nice way of describing the devious deconstruction plan that has been at work for many years behind the scenes. Along the way, we have witnessed scandals, controversies, and divisions. It is not my desire in this article to add fuel to the fire, however, as a lifelong SBC member and pastor, I believe it’s necessary to provide a reason for our church’s decision to officially separate from the SBC effective on January 1st, 2022.

The Commendable

What I will say in this article should not be seen as a denial of the fact that there are many good and gifted professors who are serving in the SBC entities and doing a good job of training men for the pulpit and church planting. When I look back on my time at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, I am grateful for many of the professors who invested in me and helped prepare me for the work of gospel ministry.

Alongside professors are many good pastors and local churches who have been healthy and profitable in supporting Christian education and church planting for many years within this network that we know as the SBC. Therefore, we can be thankful for these gifted individuals and churches who have sacrificed much to accomplish much for the glory of God.

But, all is not well within evangelicalism and that also includes the SBC. In recent years, we’ve witnessed quite a transformation take place within the once-beloved SBC that has necessitated separation for what I believe is far more than preference matters.

The Downgrade

Over the past decade or more, things began to shift with the SBC leadership that moved the once theologically conservative denomination in a leftward direction. The biggest catalyst to this leftward movement undoubtedly was the acceptance of the social justice agenda which has resulted in the greatest downgrade in our modern era of church history. Any denial of this downgrade is simply a refusal to report the facts about where the SBC is today, where the SBC was yesterday, and where the SBC is moving tomorrow.

While this shift did not take place overnight, it began to pick up the pace drastically over the last 4-5 years. Back in 2018, I was part of a group that assembled in Dallas, Texas for a meeting regarding the problems of social justice. As we assembled, I was concerned but hopeful. Little did I know that our meeting and subsequent Statement on Social Justice and the Gospel would not only serve as a means of confirming what was already in motion beneath the radar, but it would expose many people and institutions within the SBC and their involvement in this devious movement.

Sadly, the top-tier SBC leaders continue to double down on their positions. They have sought to deflect charges of theological capitulation and rigorously work to protect their positions through cultural virtue signals and theological word salads.

During this downgrade, we have witnessed once trusted voices and institutions accept the ideologies of the social justice movement and platform notable voices within their hallways, classrooms, and conference circuits. They came together under the banner of the gospel only to embrace a social justice gospel that resulted in confusion, division, and in some cases—a complete derailing altogether. This must not be overlooked. If left unchecked, the social justice agenda will leave an indelible mark upon preachers who will be sent out into local churches to serve as pastors.

The SBC once fought a war on the inerrancy of Scripture during what has become known as the “Conservative Resurgence.” After claiming a victory over the “Battle for the Bible” the SBC has moved into a new era where this once theologically conservative denomination has adopted the controversial “Resolution 9” at the 2019 SBC in Birmingham. How could the SBC openly champions inerrancy, at the same time adopt a resolution stating that we need to employ Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality (CRT/I) as “analytical tools” for gospel ministry? This was done, in all reality, without much public debate, and through sly political schemes.

Moving beyond the 2019 SBC, after a break in 2020 due to COVID-19, the SBC reconvened in Nashville in the summer of 2021 to discuss business and make decisions as a group of churches. During the meeting, there were multiple attempts from the floor to call upon the SBC to openly renounce the teachings of CRT/I. At each juncture, all of these attempts were rejected and generic language was adopted in place of specific language that openly rejected CRT/I.

One must ask the honest question as to why there was such an open refusal from the SBC leaders at this point? In the past, the SBC openly challenged Disney and eventually boycotted Disney in 1997. One must ask why the SBC was willing to boycott the gospel according to Disney but failed to boycott the gospel according to social justice? Why are theologians, pastors, and professors unwilling to reject CRT/I when concerned unconverted soccer moms are flooding school board meetings demanding that their local schools refuse to teach such ideologies to their children? It appears that unconverted soccer moms are more concerned about their local schools than SBC leaders are about local churches.

One must ask why the SBC was willing to boycott the gospel according to Disney but failed to boycott the gospel according to social justice?

During this downgrade, we have also witnessed a progressive attack upon the pulpit within the SBC. A movement in recent years has focused on dividing the office and function of the pastor in the life of the local church. As the progressive winds continue to blow through evangelical circles, it seems that in order to continue to maintain the big tent approach to evangelicalism, the SBC must allow for women to preach so long as they are not ordained to the office of elder. We have watched the rise of popular figures like Beth Moore continue to weave this methodology into the fabric of the SBC through the years.

This downgrade has not been a sudden explosion. It’s the result of what might be considered a crock-pot approach to compromise and failure. The SBC celebrated victory on the subject of inerrancy but never entered the battlefield to address the issue of biblical sufficiency. As a result, the slow cook of pragmatism has led the SBC to embrace theological error in order to become culturally relevant which has been quite evident through the virtue signaling of major SBC leaders in the wake of tragedies like George Floyd and the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement. Pragmatism demands that you do whatever works and provides the best results. Standing for biblical justice as opposed to social justice is the unpopular and narrow road that is not culturally acceptable.

When the SBC is willing to cancel Walt Disney but unwilling to cancel Derrick Bell or Kimberlé Crenshaw, we have serious problems.

Allow me to be crystal clear at this point. This is not merely a personal conviction or preference matter. The present downgrade that has encompassed the SBC is one of both methodological and theological errors. When the SBC is willing to cancel Walt Disney but unwilling to cancel Derrick Bell or Kimberlé Crenshaw, we have serious problems. To be clear, the social justice movement is not purely Marxist, but it has roots in a postmodern attempt at deconstruction, and such a dialectic will be catastrophic if not corrected. J. Gresham Machen described this theological compromise as “the modern hostility to doctrine.” ¹

This downgrade involves compromise on theological levels such as complementarianism (roles of men and women in the church), ecclesiology (the office and function of elder), and most important of all is the gospel (the social justice movement has replaced theology with victimology—resulting in the rise of a new religion).

For that reason, our church which is 180 years old and predates the SBC by three years, has determined by a 100% congregational vote led by the elders who voted in a 100% eldership vote to lead the church away from the SBC due to such compromise. The SBC has failed. The leaders have compromised. The SBC must know that local churches do not need the SBC, but the SBC does need local churches—both large and small.

We as elders determined that it would be a violation of our conscience and a misuse of money to invest in a system that has clearly rejected all forms of correction in private and public settings. Therefore, we are no longer an SBC church, but we are Baptist and will continue to cooperate with other like-minded churches and pastors for the work of missions and theological education for the glory of God.

The Final Straw

As I attended what would be my final SBC in Nashville in 2021, the final straw was apparent through the election of Ed Litton as the president of the SBC. To watch leaders of SBC seminaries like Danny Akin take to Twitter to encourage the messengers of the SBC churches to vote for Ed Litton in the runoff was quite revealing. Danny Akin is entrusted with millions of SBC dollars to train pastors for the pulpit and he sent the signal that Ed Litton is a proper example for SBC pastors and future pastors to follow.

Following the SBC annual meeting in June of 2021, the plagiarism scandal (which is being referenced as “Sermon Gate”) surfaced which further exposed the failures of Ed Litton’s pulpit practices. Rather than calling for his resignation, the 11th Commandment of the SBC appears to be in full force as the SBC elites not only enable his capitulation, but they celebrate him as a faithful leader. This was put on vivid display as Adam Greenway, who serves as the president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, extended an invitation to Ed Litton to address the student body. Rather than preaching, they held a Q&A session where Greenway asked Litton to respond to allegations of plagiarism and then accepted his answer and applauded him.

As the pulpit goes, so goes the church. This was the final straw for me and for our local church. We refuse to be associated with a group of churches that elect and support leaders who will not be held accountable for sin.

As the final word on the matter, it is not my desire to cast stones at a sinking ship. I find no pleasure in separating from the SBC. In logical terms, when we reached the conclusion that we can no longer support the educational entities or the church planting agencies of the SBC (the very reason the SBC exists), it only made sense that we should invest our time and energy elsewhere.

A couple of years ago as we gathered together with our local church for a meeting to discuss the problems within the SBC after the adoption of Resolution 9, one wise elderly woman in our church stood and made a simple, yet profound statement. She said, “Pastor Josh, if it is true and we must eventually leave the SBC, it will not be that we left the SBC but that the SBC left us.” That accurately describes the current scenario that many SBC churches are experiencing.

As we came to a close in our congregational members’ meeting where we voted on December 26th to separate from the SBC, we closed by praying for the SBC churches and leaders. It would be our earnest desire to see the SBC repent and change direction, but since there is no evidence of such a change of direction from the leaders within the SBC, we must exit this aging battleship and move onward in this fight of the faith.

As a local church pastor and president of G3 Ministries, I find myself very committed to a high view of the local church. While this decision has been a long time in the making, I have had to come to the place where I see my commitment to the local church as far superior to any organizational or denominational relationship. At whatever point the network or denomination fails to hold to biblical positions, we must make the hard decision to separate. In so doing, I walk away from the SBC without shame. I involved myself in the SBC, attended the meetings, and sought to do my little part in the work of the SBC causes. Now as I walk away, I do so without regret knowing that this decision was not merely a reactionary decision made in haste. The decision was made for the glory of God and the health of our local church for which I do not apologize.

When Charles Spurgeon was addressing the compromise among Baptists in England, he penned “The Downgrade in the Churches” where he wrote the following:

A chasm is opening between the men who believe their Bibles and those who are prepared for an advance upon the Scripture. . .The house is being robbed, its very walls are being digged down, but the good people who are in bed are too fond of the warmth. . .to go downstairs to meet the burglars.

It appears that Spurgeon’s words could be applied to the present downgrade within the SBC. We must remember the words of Paul as he penned a letter to the church in the city of Colossae. He wrote, “See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ” (Col. 2:8). When you’ve done all within your power to stand—sometimes the only option that remains is to separate.

Through time immemorial all great nations and empires have had to struggle with stressors, and the United States is no different.

Strong nations capably resist hostile outside influences bent on destroying them.

The United States has since its inception as a free Constitutional Republic ably weathered all attempts by hostile nations and other antipathetic foreign entities that sought the Nation’s destruction. And the reason for our Nation’s uncommon ability to thwart such attacks is grounded on its exceptional strength, resilience, and fortitude.

These essential qualities derive from our Nation’s philosophical, jurisprudential, political, social, and ethical underpinnings, all of which are reflected in its unique Constitution—the foundation of our Nation’s fundamental governing principles. That says much of our Country’s inherent greatness as well as its formidable power.

A nation’s governing documents are, after all, the best indices of its health and vitality. A nation’s governing documents are the barometer of a modern nation-state’s ability to weather adversity and to grow ever stronger and more resilient in having overcome adversity.

The United States has, since its inception, become the most powerful, resourceful Nation-State on Earth: militarily, economically, financially, technologically, and geopolitically. It has excelled on all indices of National health, well-being, and vigor. It did so through recognition that the strength of the Country ultimately derives from the strength of its citizens: a free, sovereign, independent, and armed people.

Our Nation did not see an easy birth, shackled as it was to a powerful empire. Yet, against all odds, it threw off the yoke of tyranny. And it did so, not through wizardry, but through determination, selflessness, resourcefulness, an abundance of courage, firm conviction, and an indomitable will to prevail over oppression and tyranny: the armed American!

Yet, the most dangerous perils to impact the continued well-being of an otherwise strong nation, such as the U.S., are those perils emanating inside its geographical boundaries, not outside them—by forces that seek to confuse, cow, frighten, and disarm the American citizenry.

A new tyranny is on the rise. And this tyranny is in our midst.

Countries sicken and die more often through an inability to deal effectively with attendant institutional weaknesses and treacherous machinations of heinous and loathsome elements residing within them than by antagonistic forces marshaled against them from the outside.

The traps and snares that emerge within the nation itself are the most dangerous to a nation’s continued existence because these traps and snares are often masked and cloaked and, so, they go unrecognized. Remaining hidden and unseen, they remain unchallenged, until too late.

Destructive forces have seeded their viral plague into our Nation centuries ago. And these forces have bided their time, for they know it takes time to destroy a strong, resilient nation from within. And these destructive forces and influences existent within the Country supported by and in collusion with formidable forces and influences outside the Country have exhibited infinite patience.

They have, through recent years and decades, and with the rapid advances in the technology and the art of social conditioning, slowly, inexorably, surreptitiously, and ever so quietly insinuated themselves into the public psyche, manipulating the thought processes of the American people—creating confusion, anxiety, fear, and a sense of profound hopelessness in the polity. Thus the Destructive forces of a free Constitutional Republic have effectively “softened” the willpower and the spirit of many Americans even as many other Americans remain resolute, able to see through the ruse, and therefore able to contain it.

We Are at War! A New Unconventional Almost Hidden War

In the last decade of the 20th Century and at the turn of the 21st Century, these Neo-Marxist and Neoliberal Globalist forces—implacable, intractable foes of Americans—have been bent on transforming the whole of western civilization into a unified transnational globalist empire, sans nation-states and national borders. And they have felt confident enough in their control over Americans and, particularly, over the American psyche, to eventually merge the United States, as their ultimate prize, into their new world order scheme. And, in the first one and a half decades of the 21st Century, they have speeded up their timetable for the dissolution of the United States.

Through the sinister machinations of their toadies—Clinton, Bush, and Obama—the citizenry’s ties to their history, heritage, ethos, culture, ethical foundation, and fundamental Christian grounding began to loosen, to fracture.

The American belief system founded, first and foremost, on the sanctity and inviolability of the individual has through time been systematically, surreptitiously, and assiduously replaced with an altogether new and alien, fabricated and sinister, belief system.

The forces that crush have concocted their false belief system to divide the American people, to prevent them from forming a durable, imperishable defense against the forces amassed against them.

These malevolent forces have designed their false belief system to attack the Nation’s traditional belief structures at an elemental, subconscious level. They have designed their counterfeit belief system to engulf and destroy the core precepts, principles, and tenets of a free Republic, predicated as they are on fundamental, unalienable, God-given rights and liberties.

Unseen but axiomatic, the sanctity and inviolability of the individual soul rest at the core of this Nation’s strength.

The inherent and absolute sovereignty of the American people is grounded on this sacred notion of the sanctity and inviolability of the individual soul. This is the predicate basis of the citizenry’s sovereignty over Government.

And the citizenry’s sovereignty over Government isn’t maintained by blind faith that the Federal Government will abide by the immutable authority of the American citizenry over that Federal Government, but by the fact that the citizenry is armed and will ever remain so.

The citizenry’s sovereignty over Government depends on the fact that the citizenry remains armed.

Under no situation or circumstance is the Government permitted lawfully to constrain, restrain, abrogate or suspend the right of the people to keep and bear arms. This is a core Truth, and the forces that seek this Nation’s destruction know this.

The eternal enemies of the American people know that this core Truth is detrimental and altogether antithetical to the goal of realizing a one-world governmental regime. With cold, callous, calculated determination, these Neo-Marxist internationalists and Neoliberal Globalists have designed and have thrust into the American psyche an entirely new, alien, and fabricated belief system.

This system is calibrated to undercut the core sacred Truth upon which the Country absolutely depends for its existence as a free Republic: the nobility and autonomy and sanctity and inviolability of the Individual Soul.

Remain vigilant, stay heavily armed and very dangerous.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban jihadi organization that seized power in Afghanistan on August 15, 2021) told the United States that if America wants 2,000 soldiers to guard its embassy in Kabul, the Taliban too will deploy a similar number of suicide bombers at the Afghan embassy in Washington D.C….

On December 11, 2021, a tweet by Maulvi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, the son of the late Afghan Taliban founder Mullah Mohammad Omar Mujahid and now the acting defense minister of Afghanistan under the Taliban regime, stated: “If America wants 2,000 English [i.e., American] troops at its embassy in Afghanistan, we also want 2,000 Fidayeen Mujahideen [i.e., suicide bombers] from the Fateh Force at the embassy of Afghanistan in America.”[1] The tweet is the first indication that the U.S. is seeking to deploy 2,000 troops to open its embassy in Kabul.

Fidayeen is another term used by jihadi groups for their suicide bombers. “Fateh Force,” or “victorious force,” is a “martyrdom force” within the Badri 313 unit of the Islamic Emirate. Badri 313 is named after the Ghazwa-e-Badr, the first Islamic battle led by Islam’s founder Muhammad in which 313 Muslims defeated thousands of non-Muslim tribesmen.

Maulvi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, the son of the Taliban’s late spiritual leader Mullah Mohammad Omar Mujahid, first became second deputy emir of the Afghan Taliban and was then made head of the Islamic Emirate’s Military Commission in May 2020. After the Taliban seized power in Kabul on August 15, 2021, he became acting defense minister. He is a graduate of an Islamic seminary in Karachi, Pakistan.

Since their takeover of Afghanistan, the Taliban have painted walls in Kabul with slogans of triumph in praise of the mujahideen’s victory against the U.S.-led coalition forces. One such slogan painted in red, white, and blue on a wall near the gate of the U.S. Embassy in Kabul reads: “With Allah’s support, our nation defeated America.”[2]…

So say the organizers of the “Defeat the Mandates. American Homecoming” rally against the COVID-19 vax mandates that will take place in the nation’s capital on January 23.

Speaking on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast late last month, mRNA vaccine architect Dr. Robert Malone explained the purpose of the rally,

“This is not about being anti-vaccines; it’s about being anti-mandates, and our hope is that we bring people together. People from every walk of life, every party, every religion, every ethnic background … The thing that we can agree on is personal liberty and the right of people to make their own choice.”

Dr. Malone added that he hopes the event not only encompasses the United States but all nations around the world who wish to see vaccine mandates and passports outlawed. Freedom-loving people in Australia, the United Kingdom, and elsewhere in Europe will be rallying in their countries the same day, per the doctor.

According to the rally’s website, the march will start at the Washington Monument at 11:30 AM EST and end at the Lincoln Memorial, where a “wide range of featured guests,” such as “recording artists, prominent doctors, first responders, journalists, pro athletes, and premier thought leaders will give a series of inspiring talks and musical performances.”

The full list of the speakers is yet to be announced, but the preliminary list features top medical professionals in their fields, including Dr. Robert Malone, Dr. Ryan Cole, Dr. Jessica Rose, Dr. Paul Marik, Dr. Richard Urso, as well as Children’s Health Defense Board Chair and Lead Counsel Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a famed California philanthropist, a fierce advocate for early treatments and a major donor to the rally Steve Kirsch, Civil Rights and Constitutional Law Attorney Tricia Lindsey, and others.

Some 200 DC firefighters and first responders from OperationFreedomofChoice.org will also march.

Global Covid Summit represents over 15,000 doctors and scientists around the world, who met in September to sign a Declaration calling on the decision-makers to stop preventing healthcare practitioners from prescribing effective COVID treatments to their patients that have proven to save countless lives and implying that by doing so, they commit “crimes against humanity.”

The Summit produced another Declaration in October, warning against vaccinating children against COVID and arguing the risks associated with vaccines far outweigh the benefits. The New American has covered the story here.

The CHD, according to its website, sees the January 23 event as one of the steps in the ongoing pushback against government overreach. Besides participating in the DC rally, the organization encourages “concerned citizens around the world to Show up Strong at their statehouse for the first day of the 2022 legislative session” to let the lawmakers know how many people are willing to “come together and peacefully assemble to stand against mandates.”

The CHD is especially concerned with the lawmakers in New York, California, Louisiana, Washington D.C., and others moving to advance legislation that would make COVID shots mandatory for children attending K-12 schools. “They are coming for our children and the only thing that stands in their way is We the People,” reminds the CHD’s publication, The Defender.

The January 23 event is also supported by The Unity Project headed by Dr. Malone along with Dr. Peter McCullough, Dr. Paul Alexander, and Dr. Aaron Kheriaty.

Steve Kirsh wrote on his Substack, “We are not marching against the COVID vaccines, we’re marching against the government forcing these vaccines onto Americans. It’s something I hope we can all agree on.”

He further explained:

We don’t even know what is inside these vials and we are being forced to take it.
The VAERS data shows the vaccines kill more people than they save (by 15X).
The vaccines suppress your immune system making you more likely to be infected.
There is no stopping condition. If 1M people are killed by the vaccines, they won’t stop them.

Speaking with The New American in December, Kirsch said that according to his calculations, the COVID shots have killed more people than they saved. That disproportion is even worse when it comes to children: for every 1 child saved from COVID, 117 will die because of the vaccine-associated adverse events.

Bret Weinstein, an evolutionary biologist, visiting fellow at Princeton University, author, and a podcast host, called on his Twitter audience to “join us:” “With our Constitution, we Americans are uniquely positioned for this fight. It’s time for us to #StandUp. The [vax mandate] orders are immoral, and we will not comply,” he wrote.

Dr. Pierre Kory, a pulmonary and critical care specialist and a co-developer of effective, COVID early treatment protocols, joined with Weinstein to call on people to “march to call attention to the relentless insanity and cruelty.” “As Americans, we should be at the forefront of the fight to regain the freedoms taken from us ignorantly, fraudulently, or harmfully,” he added.

“Resist. It’s our obligation,” posted Dr. Richard Urso.

As of January 9, over 24,000 people have signed up for the rally, according to the event’s Twitter pa ge.

New York Mayor Eric Adams on Sunday allowed legislation that will allow over 800,000 noncitizens to vote in municipal elections to automatically become law.

Opponents of the law, which was passed by the City Council, have already vowed to challenge it. Unless a judge ultimately stops the legislation from being implemented, New York will be the biggest city in the nation to give the vote to non-citizens, although 15 municipalities across the country currently allow it.

Under the new law, the Board of Elections must now begin drawing an implementation plan by July. That includes voter registration rules and provisions for the creation of separate ballots for municipal races in order to prevent noncitizens from voting in state and federal races.

The legislation allows noncitizens to vote who have been lawful permanent residents of the city for at least 30 days, along with “Dreamers” and all those authorized to work in the U.S., to participate in elections for mayor, city council members, borough presidents, comptroller and public advocate.

“We build a stronger democracy when we include the voices of immigrants,” said former City Councilmember Ydanis Rodriguez, a leading advocate for the legislation.

Rodriguez has now been appointed by Adams as Transportation Commissioner.

Adams had previously cast uncertainty over the legislation’s fate when he voiced concern about the month-long residency standard but later affirmed that those concerns did not mean he would veto.

Because Adams failed to take action within his 30-day time limit, it automatically became law at midnight Sunday.

“I believe that New Yorkers should have a say in their government, which is why I have and will continue to support this important legislation,” the Democrat mayor said in a statement Saturday night, adding that dialogue with colleagues dispelled his earlier concerns.

Former Mayor Bill de Blasio expressed similar concerns before leaving office but did not move to veto the bill.

Some states, including Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, and Florida, have enacted rules to preemptively prohibit laws like the one passed in New York City.

New York Republicans have blasted the law.

Chair of the New York State Republican Committee Nick Langworthy called the bill “perhaps the worst idea out of New York City Democrats ever.”

“This radical legislation is unconstitutional, un-American, and downright dangerous. This not only will undermine the credibility of local city elections but will undoubtedly interfere with the integrity of state and national elections across New York State. Democrats do not get to create their own brand of citizenship to manipulate elections,” Langworthy stated, pledging to “use every single legal method to stop it.”

Minority Leader Joe Borelli joined Langworthy in condemning the legislation, noting that the New York Democrats will be granting a right to vote to people who are citizens of other countries and have a right to vote there. “If they want to vote here, they should go through the process of becoming citizens, because that is how you show a real commitment to being a part of this city and this country,” he added.

Democrats also want to radically reshape voting at the federal level. Their proposed “For the People Act” would force states to eliminate safeguards against electoral fraud with the ostensible aim of promoting democracy, but which critics say would weaken election integrity and result in the federalization of elections.

According to a summary of the proposal, the bill “expands voter registration and voting access” by requiring automatic and same-day registration while limiting states’ and localities’ ability to purge voter rolls. It would also mandate nationwide universal mail-in voting and put an end to voter ID requirements.

The challenges of passing a bill as ambitious as the For the People Act have led Democrats to release updated versions of “election reform” in the hopes of finding better success within their slim congressional majority. They are expected to soon bring the Freedom to Vote Act, which died in the Senate in October, back for reconsideration.

Provisions found in the Freedom to Vote Act that aren’t in the For the People Act include allowing certain election officials to sue if they are undeservedly removed from office, increasing protections against intimidating election workers, and allowing voters to sue if their vote is not counted.

Democrats simultaneously want to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, which is intended to stop “discrimination” against nonwhite voters.
