Democrats Aren’t Coming to Take Your Guns…Until They Are

The Morning Briefing: Dems Aren't Coming to Take Your Guns...Until They Are

Top O’ the Briefing

Happy Monday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. Trenzino continues to feel that cheery couples on tandem bicycles have actual skeletons in their closets.

A common refrain we hear from anti-Second Amendment leftists goes something like this: “Don’t be ridiculous, we don’t want to take your guns.” It’s a way of dismissing our well-founded concerns that American leftists, if given the chance, will become fascists who won’t hesitate to abrogate even our God-given rights.

Yeah, we’ve met them.

Of course, variations on the above line are always — yes, always — offered as part of a larger conversation in which they then say something along the lines of: “OK, not all of your guns, just the ones that we’ve deemed super extra scary.”

It’s a testament to how adept leftists are at lying that they’ve been able to make claims like this while keeping straight faces for so many years.

As we know, however, they’ve all been emboldened by the success they had using the United States Constitution as a birdcage liner during the pandemic, and they don’t mind letting their masks (punish pandemic reference definitely intended) slip more and more.

According to every map that I have, New Mexico is still in the United States of America. Its governor seems to find that inconvenient. This is from Rick’s latest on the subject:

Republicans in New Mexico are calling for her impeachment. Elon Musk called her executive order banning firearms from being carried in public for 30 days “next-level illegal”.

But New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is defending her order, claiming it was necessary to protect “public health,” and besides, her oath to uphold the Constitution was not “absolute.”

“No constitutional right, in my view, including my oath, is intended to be absolute,” she retorted after being asked whether her order violated her oath of office to “uphold the Constitution.”

I guarantee you that Gov. Stalin Grisham will not be the last Democrat to use the COVID-inspired “public health” nonsense as an excuse to oppress the good citizens of this country. They take to tyranny like ducks to water over there in Dem Land. I wouldn’t be surprised to find that the Democratic National Committee has spun off a little think tank to ponder new ways to use public health panic to shred the Constitution.

It’s beyond naive to think that any Democrat who shrugs off fealty to the Constitution via a sworn oath won’t continue throwing rules out the window. Now, more than ever, Democrats truly believe themselves to be above and/or outside any laws they find irritating.

Like open or concealed carry laws.

Disarmament is the endgame for every Democratic politician who blathers on about “assault weapons,” the “need” for an AR-15, or the odious “common sense gun reforms.” They’d prefer to enact tyrannical agendas on a populace that is meek, compliant, and unable to resist. Ambitious commies like New Mexico’s pantsuited nightmare chief executive know that people who are heavily invested in the First and Second Amendments won’t merely roll over and play gulag for them.

At present, the overreaching anti-2A zealots eventually run into a judge or a court that says, “Yeah…no,” to their attempts to turn legal gun owners into criminals overnight. If they get another few years to tweak the judiciary, the Bill of Rights will become a museum piece.

Oklahoma School District Hires Drag Queen Principal

There is a saying that states the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. This is true, but it represents only one form of insanity. Most of the other types are exhibited on a daily basis by those radical leftists who claim to be woke when in reality they are anything but awake.

For instance, the Western Heights School District (WHSD) in Oklahoma City, Okla., in June of this year named a drag queen to be the principal of John Glenn Elementary School. I guess this is the woke method of honoring the first American in space.

Dr. Shane Murnan, a fifty-two-year-old gay man who moonlights as a drag queen who goes by the name Shantel Mandalay, has been placed in charge of elementary school students. The hiring has caused a huge backlash and rightly so. Any man who mocks women by dressing in outlandish costumes and flamboyantly conducts themselves in a sexually inappropriate manner, should not be in a position of authority around impressionable young children. For that matter, he should not be in a position of authority over any underage child or young adult.

Ryan Walters is the Superintendent of the State of Oklahoma. He has openly criticized the hiring, correctly calling it “insanity.” He went on to say, “It’s outrageous to have a drag queen running a school, you know, here in Oklahoma. That doesn’t line up with Oklahoma values. I hear from parents every day who are concerned with this woke left-wing indoctrination of schools, and this gender theory that continues to be thrust upon our kids. It’s completely inappropriate.”

In addition to his propensity to dress in drag, Murnan was also charged with child pornography twenty years ago, although those charges were dropped when the images could not be substantiated as minors.

The school district stated that they were aware of Murnan’s past charges, but still defended hiring him based on what they refer to as his great qualifications and outstanding reputation. A statement released by the school board said:

“Dr. Murnan has been serving the field of education for more than 25 years and has an outstanding reputation. He comes highly recommended by previous supervisors, colleagues, and educators. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, a Masters of Education in Educational Administration, and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration. We welcome Dr. Murnan to Western Heights, and we are very excited about his vision for John Glenn and the community.”

WHSD Superintendent Brayden Savage released this statement:

“According to news reports at the time, those charges were dismissed by the court, and the record of the charges has been expunged. Since that time, Dr. Murnan has continued to be certified as an elementary school teacher and principal, including having his certificate renewed in April of 2023 and signed by State Superintendent Ryan Walters.”

At face value, his background appears impressive. However, the man works as a drag queen at a den of iniquity called The Boom. His vision for the school and community should be considered troublesome, as he has already conducted book readings at libraries dressed in drag.

Walters, who we can only guess was not aware of Murnan’s history until this appointment, believes that this fits perfectly into the liberal left’s agenda.

“Their end goal is to absolutely break down a child’s mind, break down the classroom, break down the family, and you see the results that have come from this. They want kids to turn on their parents and only listen to their leftist ideology.”

He then continued, “And how do you do it?’ You start… breaking them apart and say, listen, you’re gender-fluid. Listen, you can change your pronouns… Look at the sexual material. When the kid takes it home and their parent is outraged by it, the kids turn on their parents.”

“This is absolutely trying to break down that family unit, so the kid is more susceptible to the most radical Marxist gender ideology we’ve ever seen, to pit groups of people against each other, and frankly, it’s to create Democrat voters.”

“No parent wants to send their kids to school knowing that they could be exposed to this radical gender theory in any capacity. This woke war on our kids has to stop. We will not allow it in Oklahoma. This is the liberal insanity that every parent wants out of the classroom.”

“We will not allow our kids to be part of their radical-left game for pushing ideology and furthering their end goal, which is creating social justice warriors instead of students that understand how education is a path to success for them. We will not allow it. This will stop.”

The real danger to this community is the people behind this hiring. Murnan only represents the empowered, self-righteous tool that they have implemented to advance their disgusting agenda.

The Most Important Second Amendment Battle…Right Now WITH NEW MEXICO’S GOVERNOR

Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, heads back down to New Mexico to see all the development, and there have been many since Gov. Grisham decided that she had the power to suspend her citizens' Second Amendment Rights. Even some of America's most notorious gun grabbers, including David Hogg and Ryan Busse, have publicly spoken out against this gross overreach. Several law enforcement agencies have said that will NOT enforce the order and the lawsuits have started to fly. Biden’s Betrayal of 9/11~On September 11, Biden is Going to Alaska

Biden robbed 9/11 families, freed an alternate 9/11 hijacker, and gave $2B to the Taliban. Now he’s boycotting the official commemorations.

On the 22nd anniversary of September 11, the president will be in Alaska instead of at any of the sites where the attacks took place because he was delayed by a visit to Vietnam

“You have nary aged a day,” Vietnamese Communist Party General Secretary Trong, who is 79, praised Biden. Biden called Vietnam a “friend” and urged moving on from the “bitter past”.

The Vietnam War isn’t the only “bitter past” that Biden is moving on from. Despite the presence of Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, the Biden administration has continued holding meetings with the Taliban, has provided over $2 billion in aid after the Taliban takeover, and authorized transactions with the Taliban and even an Al Qaeda component for “humanitarian” reasons.

Holding a 9/11 commemoration in Alaska conveniently sidelines the vast majority of family members outraged over Biden’s treasonous efforts to cut a deal with the mastermind of the September 11 attacks. A month before the anniversary, 9/11 families received a form letter telling them that a plan to cut the deal with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was underway.

2,000 family members responded by signing a letter to Biden pleading with him, “You are our President and we ask that you prioritize the interests of the victims of the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks over those of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed or other terrorists.” Biden’s Alaska commemoration is a way to make sure that no family members can embarrass him in public the way that the victims of his disastrous surrender to the Taliban did.

The only connection between Al Qaeda and Alaska is that Biden recently gave a gift to Al Qaeda’s funders by banning oil companies from drilling on 10 million acres in the state.

Like Obama before him, Biden has been obsessed with freeing the Gitmo terrorists. Obama ousted one Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel, and applied intense pressure on another, Ash Carter, who resisted efforts by his boss, Susan Rice, and other pro-terrorist figures to ‘jam’ him. Unlike Hagel and Carter, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin willingly enabled Biden’s release of even the worst terrorists including an alternate 9/11 hijacker, an Al Qaeda ally who plotted to smuggle nukes into the country, a terrorist involved in the Marriott bombing, and many others.

No president, not even Obama, has been as maliciously hostile to 9/11 families. Before dispatching a form letter to families warning that a plea deal would be cut with the mastermind of the attacks not long before the anniversary date, Biden robbed families of a settlement and handed it over to the Taliban.

In an exclusive investigation, Front Page Magazine reported that when the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, 9/11 families were able to collect damages from the country’s bank reserves that were located in New York. Biden’s decision to enable the Taliban takeover had made it possible for victims to actually collect on a previous judgment against the Taliban.

Biden, reacting with all the ruthless speed that had been completely absent when Americans were trapped behind enemy lines in Kabul, rushed to freeze the money so the families couldn’t collect, apportioned half for “humanitarian aid” to the Afghans (over and above the $800 million he had already provided to the terror zone) and fought 9/11 families in court for the rest.

The Biden administration argued that allowing the 9/11 families to lay claim to the Taliban’s money would interfere with its foreign policy in Afghanistan. The administration created the

“Afghan Fund” in Switzerland with half of the money that Biden stole from 9/11 families. Why Switzerland? Because moving the money abroad, much like Obama’s illegal non-dollar ransom payments to Iran, was a way of avoiding congressional and judicial oversight.

That a presidential administration seized $3.5 billion from 9/11 families, moved it to Switzerland (in the tradition of Nazi war criminals), and set it up as a Swiss nonprofit not subject to American laws ought to have been one of the biggest stories, instead it’s been relentlessly buried. The fund’s board members include only one U.S. official, making the United States a minority, and the board only met three times as of earlier this year raising issues about what the fund is doing.

While the Biden administration claims that it’s only offering humanitarian aid, its definition of humanitarian aid includes printing money for the Taliban through Poland and France. Why Poland and France? Much like Switzerland, Biden is operating in foreign countries to avoid congressional and judicial oversight for what are likely violations of United States law.

The Taliban are also receiving secret pallets of hundred dollar bills from some unknown point of origin. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation, doing the job that no American media outlet would do, showed stacks of hundred dollar bills sitting on the tarmac at Kabul International Airport that had been the setting for the worst and bloodiest moments of Biden’s betrayal.

An expert suggested that “it may have been hundreds of millions of dollars.”

Where is the money coming from? Biden’s cash has been dispensed so secretively that the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction’s office (SIGAR) revealed last year that the State Department and Samantha Power’s fiefdom at USAID were so relentlessly stonewalling the watchdog that “department staff has received internal direction to not engage with or speak to SIGAR without prior clearance from State legal counsel”.

This year, Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction John Sopko told Congress that “I cannot assure this committee or the American taxpayer we are not currently funding the Taliban.” He warned that the word is that the “Taliban are already diverting funds.” A SIGAR report in July 2023 revealed that the Biden administration has “appropriated more than $2.35 billion in FY 2022 and FY 2023 funding for Afghanistan reconstruction programming since the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.” Instead of cutting funds, “contributions to UN OCHA reported organizations of more than $4.45 billion from January 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023, are at levels that were not seen prior to the Taliban takeover…  and were led by the United States.”

The Biden administration has violated the law by refusing to cooperate with both the Afghanistan watchdog and congressional subpoenas. Is it going to such great lengths, moving money into a Swiss nonprofit, operating through Poland and France, and defying congressional subpoenas and government watchdogs because it has nothing to hide?

Since the retreat, Biden has been the public face of an unprecedented coverup of one of the worst military and foreign policy disasters in recent history. The lies are not only constant, they appear to have been coordinated with the enemy.

Earlier this year, Biden falsely claimed that Al Qaeda was no longer operating in Afghanistan when in reality it has training camps in six provinces, safe houses all across the country, and its members serve in key government positions. Those revelations came directly from a UN Security Council report. The Taliban quickly cited Biden’s lie as a “refutation” of the UN report.

The Biden administration lied about Afghanistan from the very beginning. And that would have been bad enough if the consequences had ended with the Taliban takeover, but there’s every sign that Biden is not only seeking friends in Vietnam but in Afghanistan. Perhaps he hopes that the Taliban leaders will flatter his youthful features much like the Communist boss in Vietnam, but more likely a family that has a history of corrupt business dealings abroad has one more.

Biden’s snub to the traditional 9/11 commemorations is an extension of the same policy in which he dismissed the Americans left behind in Afghanistan (only to then pay for six-figure charter flights on Osama bin Laden’s old airline). Even long before anyone thought he had a shot at ending up in the White House, Biden’s one trick in foreign policy was befriending Islamic terrorists and dismissing their horrifying atrocities as ancient history that we needed to move past.

After September 11, Biden proposed, “This would be a good time to send, no strings attached, a check for $200 million to Iran.” Iran repaid him by illegally intervening in the 2020 election. One of Biden’s major bundlers was an Iran lobby figure. And since then it was revealed that the administration had turned over its negotiations with Iran to members of the Iran lobby.

What benefit has Biden gained from his dealings with the Taliban? A great deal of effort has been expended to keep anyone from knowing.

Biden would like to turn the page on the Taliban and Al Qaeda, the way he’s doing on Iran. Like all of his ideas, it’s a bad leftover from the Carter administration. And it’s also lubricated by what looks a great deal like money laundering and obstruction of justice, violations of sanctions, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

On the 22nd anniversary, Biden would like us all to move on from the Islamic terrorist attacks of September 11. That is the best way to sell us on this new policy toward our enemies and avoid any scrutiny of his misdeeds. The best way to remember those attacks is to commit to punishing their perpetrators, who should be dangling from a rope instead of reading Harry Potter novels at Gitmo or enjoying 5-star Saudi terror rehab resorts, and to investigate the ties between our elites to the Taliban, to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and other nations with terrorist links.

What we must not do is forget. The attacks are not in the past because, unlike Pearl Harbor, the perpetrators have not changed or moved on. Only their tactics have. Obama and Biden both brought massive numbers of Muslim migrants to America. They have since run for office and shown up in local legislative offices all over the country. The war has entered a new phase.

And we are being conquered.

This new invasion is even more serious than the first. And under Biden, its ‘ground zero’ lies with the Taliban takeover and the mass transportation of migrants vetted by the Taliban.

Biden and his party want to displace 9/11 victims with spectacles of the Afghan migrants and the Islamic activists whom, unlike those September 11 families, he will meet with and won’t rob. By snubbing the usual 9/11 commemorations, Biden is telling Americans that it’s time to move on.

It’s not time to move on. Not until the perpetrators are dead, their lackeys are exposed and the threat ends. 9/11 families don’t need Biden’s hypocritical smirk at the memorials or his pretense that the ‘Mourner-in-Chief’s old minor kitchen fire or his son’s cancer death (not in Iraq, as he falsely claims) can displace and bury the thousands dead, bodies falling or rising as ash.

Biden can rob 9/11 victims and ally with their killers, but Americans must remember and stand strong.

On September 11, Biden is Going to Alaska

Clearly, as far as Old Joe is concerned, America can go to hell.

Old Joe Biden is going to Alaska, thereby making it clear that as far as he is concerned, America can go to hell.

The doddering corruptocrat who is currently serving as the alleged president of the United States plans to mark the twenty-second anniversary of the deadliest jihad attacks in American history, and one of the most significant in the history of the entire world, by getting about as far away as he can get from the sites of the attacks while remaining in the United States: Old Joe will be spending Sept. 11, 2023, in Alaska. The Daily Caller’s Brianna Lyman labeled Biden’s 9/11 plans a “slap in the face,” and that’s exactly what they are. What else could anyone expect from this America-Last regime?

It all started when one of Biden’s old congressional henchmen, former Rep. Barney Frank (D-LGBTQWTF), dismissed complaints about the plan to send the regime’s figurehead to Alaska instead of to New York, Pennsylvania, or even the Pentagon, the three places where the attacks actually occurred, as “insignificant” and “not a big deal.” Old Joe and his massive taxpayer-funded entourage will stop in Alaska for a quick 9/11 memorial ceremony (during which Biden is likely to be impatiently checking his watch again) on their way back from Vietnam.

What’s Biden going to be doing in Vietnam? Reporting on the success of the Marxist infiltration and subversion of the American government and business superstructure? According to the White House, Old Joe will be meeting with his fellow Commie, Vietnamese General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, “and other key leaders to discuss ways to further deepen cooperation between the United States and Vietnam. The leaders will explore opportunities to promote the growth of a technology-focused and innovation-driven Vietnamese economy, expand our people-to-people ties through education exchanges and workforce development programs, combat climate change, and increase peace, prosperity, and stability in the region.”

That’s all just so much blather except for the bit about “climate change,” which is a massive endeavor to gut the American economy, socialize what remains of it, and hand over global economic hegemony to Communist China. It’s peculiarly fitting that Old Joe will be spreading climate change propaganda on the eve of the 9/11 anniversary; the massive attack on the United States that took place on that day is now being followed by the destruction of the nation from within by venal kleptocrats including Biden, under the cynical rubric of saving the environment.

Lyman accordingly noted that “Biden wants to waste time going to Vietnam for climate change and other economic prosperity missions for Vietnam, mind you, while he has record high inflation problems still plaguing the United States, that’s one thing. Do not tell me he did not have the ability to say, ‘I want to show the American people I still stand with them.’ He’s going to Alaska for convenience and that is a slap in the face.”

Indeed. But it clearly shows the mindset and priorities of Old Joe and his handlers. If he made more of the 9/11 anniversary, some people might actually get the impression that he cares about defending America, as well as about restoring and protecting the republic. Just the opposite is true. That’s clear from his Vietnam trip. The Vietnam War, after all, was the towering formative experience for Biden’s hippy-dippy generation, solidifying the Vietnam-era American Left as pro-Marxist, deeply self-righteous and sanctimonious, and adamant in its opposition to anything that would enhance the safety and security, to say nothing of the prosperity, of Americans. So it’s fitting that Joe would be on his way back from Vietnam when he stops in at his perfunctory 9/11 observance. As Americans, we’re all still on the way back from Vietnam, too, all these years later.

Twenty-two years after 9/11, the Biden regime is busy framing its principal opponent for various crimes, and thereby systematically destroying the republic that the jihadis so severely damaged on that fateful day. The biggest terror threat the nation faces, regime talking heads have assured us repeatedly, are not Islamic jihadis, whom they steadfastly refuse to admit even exist, but “white supremacists,” by which they mean law-abiding citizens who oppose the regime. Twenty-two years after 9/11, the jihadis have not won, but internal enemies and saboteurs who share many of their authoritarian objectives and have often counted them as their allies are near victory.

Old Joe and his henchmen, however, have not counted on the spirit of America that we saw in the immediate aftermath of 9/11. That spirit is not dead. And whether in 2024 or at some other time, it will render fruitless the authoritarian Left’s quest for total victory.

22 Years Later, The freedom that the 9/11 hijackers hated is slipping away from us with terrifying speed.

SEE: https://www.frontpagemag.com/22-years-later;

Republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, & research purposes.

“Only days after 9/11, Norwegian author Gert Nygårdshaug sneered at the idea that there might soon be an attack on ‘Oslo or Rome or Copenhagen.’ He was far from alone in his mockery. Then came Madrid, London, Bali, Beslan, Mumbai….The Western European elite played down, even denied, any connection among these events. Yet year by year the truth has become increasingly clear: though the U.S. was the target on 9/11, the front line of the war with Islamism is Europe.”

“If we’d had a president who had dared to speak the truth about our enemies and about the ideology (which is to say theology) that motivates them, and had done so eloquently and stirringly and repeatedly, à la Churchill…it might have made a huge difference….But perhaps not. Perhaps the poison of multiculturalism — the fear of acknowledging that our enemies were, in fact, our enemies — was simply too potent….The tragic fact of the matter is that ten years after 9/11, we are more ignorant, and more vulnerable, than ever.”

“9/11 was a day of heroes and of villains, of stark contrasts between good and evil. Yet how quickly the politicians, journalists, and others in positions of power managed to make a muddle of it all. Instead of witnessing a democratization of the Middle East, we experienced a steady Islamization of the West. Instead of seeing freedom bloom in the Islamic world, we saw a rise in Western censorship and self-censorship on the subject of Islam.”

“His enemies call him a fascist. On the contrary, he’s the first U.S. president since 9⁄11 who genuinely seems to grasp that Islam is fascism.”

“Twenty years on, under the disgraceful Biden, America feels like a damaged and diminished nation – its power weakened, its alliances shaken, its once-unshakable core beliefs largely shattered, not least by the suicidal compulsion to speak well of Islam.”

“America has been transformed very quickly into a country that’s so dramatically different from the one we lived in on September 10, 2001, that the twenty-first anniversary of that atrocity can feel almost irrelevant to our present concerns and calamities. But let’s remember that it was on 9/11 that the shock was delivered to our system that, responded to in precisely the wrong way, saw us wade deeper and deeper into the current muck of doubt, deception, and division.”

Sometimes it feels as if it happened just the day before yesterday, and other times it seems lost in the mists of time.

Time is like that.

At first, there was intense shock. Then a sharply focused anger, a flourishing of patriotism, and a potent resolve. And then, over the years, increasing confusion, division, self-doubt.

No, we shouldn’t have allowed a thirst for revenge, and a desire to remind the monsters of the world who was boss, to turn into an exercise in nation-building in the graveyard of empires and in one of the few Middle Eastern states without a theocratic government. Some of us, who had some knowledge of Islam, sensed that we were headed down the road to disaster. But we were, after all, relative newcomers to the study of that faith, and we were naive enough to think that people with fancy White House titles, people who turned up on all the Sunday morning shows, smooth and glib, and who always seemed to have all the answers, might know better than we did.

There are many ways of looking at 9/11. Every year when the anniversary comes around, 9/11 looks somewhat different, because the moment we’re looking back from is different. You can’t step into the same river twice.

One positive way of looking at 9/11 is to recognize it as the start of a road to wisdom – for some of us, anyway. Our country was attacked by devout members of a primitive death cult that had taught them to hate our freedoms; we retaliated by trying to democratize their undemocratic homelands. Instead of kicking out of our own country the adherents of that religion who obviously held America-hatred in their hearts, our political leaders continued to let them come. Both Republicans and Democrats whitewashed Islam, saying that the jihadists had betrayed it. This was a big lie, an inexcusable lie, a dangerous lie, which in the minds of the 50% or so of Americans who actually bought it served to implant the idea that on 9/11 they had been the good guys and we had done something to deserve the attacks.

This notion, in turn, reinforced the toxic ideologies that were being peddled to the children of the elite in the nation’s Ivy and Ivy-adjacent colleges, thereby helping to turn a generation of privileged young Americans destined for positions of cultural power into America-haters.

As it happened, the turn of the century not only brought 9/11. It also marked a dramatic shift in the ways in which information was spread. CNN had been around since 1980; Fox News and MSNBC came along in 1996, solidifying a 24-hour cycle of both news and opinion. The World Wide Web, introduced in 1991, exploded during the years around the turn of the century, giving us access to alternative sources of information that contradicted official narratives. Eventually, we realized just how much we’d been lied to over the years by our political and media establishment, realized just how far removed we were (and had been for a long time) from the government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

We didn’t stop loving America, but many of us put a greater distance in our minds between the country we loved and the people who ran it.

By the end of George W. Bush’s presidency, the moral clarity and resolve of the immediate post-9/11 period had been lost. We were in Afghanistan and Iraq, and supposedly it all had something to do with 9/11, but what exactly? The refusal of both Republican and Democratic politicians, and of the mainstream news media generally, to honestly address the fundamental facts about Islam had made it difficult, if not impossible, to discuss the very meaning of the attacks or to formulate a sensible response to them. A country that after 9/11 had been (at least briefly) almost wholly united in patriotism was now, because of differing attitudes toward America’s response to 9/11, more disunited than it had been in a long time.

Then, in the run-up to the 2008 presidential election, along came a relative newcomer to national politics who had two distinct attributes, both of which ultimately helped secure his victory. For one thing, his father had come from one Muslim country and the candidate himself had been raised in another; for millions of bien pensant Americans, voting for him was a way of apologizing for whatever we had done, in our cruel colonialist past, to make the jihadists hate us so much. For another thing, Obama was black, and his campaign rhetoric about “one America” promised guilt-ridden white Americans absolution, suggesting that his elevation to the Oval Office would put the question of racism – which we’d been repeatedly told was America’s original sin – behind us once and for all. For millions of voters, Obama was nothing less than an answer to our prayers, a gift from the gods, a golden prince with a silver tongue who’d been sent down to take what had been broken and to put it all back together again.

Upon taking office, of course, Obama revealed quickly enough (although a few wise souls had been on to him all along) that he was nothing more or less than a high priest of America. With remarkable speed, he proceeded to turn what had, after a long struggle, become essentially a post-racist society into a society centered increasingly on, and separated increasingly by, notions of group victimhood and grievance. The destructive power of this transformation was immense. A big part of the reason why so many children of white progressive parents have identified as transgender during the last few years is that they can’t bear thinking of themselves as members of an oppressive class.

It took the advent of Donald J. Trump to fully awaken many of us to the degree to which the Republicans and Democrats were a “uni party,” run by an inside-the-Beltway caste for the benefit of themselves, their elitist friends and cohorts, their corporate benefactors, and, in many cases, nefarious foreign interests who made it possible for them to buy multimillion-dollar mansions on Capitol Hill salaries. As the scales fell from our eyes, more and more of us found ourselves pondering with deep distrust the motives of politicians of both parties who’d sent the brave children of patriotic Americans to fight in faraway lands.

It was Trump who spoke up powerfully against needless wars and who raised the issues that truly affected ordinary American lives. Bring back jobs. Build the wall. Deport illegals. For decades, in the holy (and misbegotten) name of “free trade,” both parties had let China become the manufacturing hub of the world even as they let America’s own manufacturing heartland turn into the Rust Belt. Utterly indifferent to the welfare of their own hard-working, long-suffering constituents, our leaders acted as if these developments were inevitable, irreversible – the product of cosmic forces.

Trump’s rise on behalf of those neglected Americans sent up a howl by the political and media establishment that was heard around the world. When he dared to make what should have been the self-evident point that the American government should first of all care about Americans, he – along with the criminally neglected patriots who cheered him – was labeled a racist, a xenophobe, an Islamophobe, a white supremacist. The establishment righteously savaged him for calling shithole countries “shithole countries” even as they cheered Hillary Clinton for calling the hard-working middle Americans whom they’d betrayed “deplorables.”

Even before Trump was elected, the D.C. swamp creatures conspired to take him down. Now, three years into his successor’s term, they’re still working their mischief, more and more nakedly, and are going not just after him but after an ever-widening circle of his supporters. Laws, practices and institutional changes that were put in place after 9/11, supposedly to protect our freedom, are now being used to restrict our freedom. After 9/11, the feds and social-media giants began working together to deplatform jihadists but eventually were more focused on deplatforming opponents of the Democratic Party. The Homeland Security Department, which still oversees the ridiculous and intrusive security theater at our airports, is fighting climate change even as criminals flood across the southern border. The FBI transformed after 9/11 into a domestic intelligence service, has developed into a chilling Democratic Party Stasi, targeting traditionalist Catholics, arresting friends of Trump, and hiding Biden family crimes. The Department of Justice smiles on left-wing rioters and vandals but has detained for years MAGA fans who walked peacefully through the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. As I write this, it is being reported that the DOJ wants to imprison Owen Shroyer, a journalist, for giving a speech that day in Washington, D.C.’s Freedom Plaza.

By contrast, Muslims in America are above criticism. Nothing an individual Muslim says or does can change this. Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar – who, with her family, found sanctuary in the U.S. after her father, a longtime subordinate for Somalia’s Stalinist dictator, was forced to flee that country – married her brother for purposes of immigration and/or student loan fraud, has repeatedly expressed hatred for Jews and white men, has been involved in ballot harvesting, has committed multiple campaign-finance violations, has called for the defunding of the Minneapolis police, has defended Hamas and Iran, has described Angela Davis as her idol, has shared stages with people tied to Islamic terrorism, and has called America a racist nation. And yet because she is a Muslim, no mainstream media organ will dare to report honestly on all of this.

Back in 2015, Project Veritas reported on several leading universities where administrators or faculty had approved or aided in the formation of “Pro-ISIS Clubs” proposed by an undercover reporter. While the Muslim Brotherhood has a Facebook page, social media censors routinely delete criticism of Islam and yank the accounts of repeat offenders.

Have I strayed far from the topic of 9/11? Not really. Twenty-two years after 9/11, the freedom that our attackers hated is slipping away from us with terrifying speed. And though we didn’t know it at the time, it was on that now distant September morning that we started down the road to this sobering moment of crisis.

New Mexico House Bill 50 Limits Magazines To 9 Rounds, Here’s How This Leads To Banning All Guns

With the legislative session beginning in less than a week, a brand-new measure has been introduced that would outlaw large-capacity (above 9 rounds) gun magazines in New Mexico. "As I'm looking, there is not one gun in this cabinet that would be allowed under the proposed law. Similarly, here, as I'm looking in this case, there would again not be one gun that would be permitted under the new law," said the owner of the Los Ranchos Gun Shop in New Mexico, Mark Abramson. Abramson has been providing New Mexico's gun owners with weapons for more than 40 years. But a newly proposed house measure would change the kinds of firearms he has been selling for years. "The Smith and Wesson M&P is one of our top-selling guns. It just wouldn't be allowed. Because Smith and Wesson will not make a magazine that only handles nine rounds because we'd be the only state in the union with that restriction," explained Abramson. The reality is that a reduced-capacity magazine necessitates magazine changes while you are defending yourself from criminals. As a result, defending yourself will be unfair to criminals who won't follow the requirement that there must be 9 or fewer bullets in a magazine.

Jan. 6 Defendant: ‘They Want You Scared’

Jan. 6 Defendant: ‘They Want You Scared’
Cliff Grassmick/Daily Camera via AP
The left has to have scapegoats to prop up its sagging Jan. 6 “insurrection” narrative, and so Joe Biggs of the Proud Boys has just been given seventeen years in prison for his actions on that fateful day, which involved nothing more than tearing down a fence. If one guy removing a single barrier can bring the government of a superpower perilously close to being overthrown, we’re in bigger trouble than we thought. Biggs would be the first to tell you that we are, but not in the way that the leftist elites want us to think.

The Post Millennial reported Wednesday that Biggs explained the objective behind his sentence, which Judge Timothy Kelly made harsher because of the circumstances: the fence he tore down “separated law enforcement personnel from the protesters … on Capitol grounds that day,” and so Kelly “ruled that Biggs was subject to heavier sentencing consequences for domestic terrorism.”

This is ridiculous on its face. 9/11 — that was terrorism. The Fort Hood jihad massacre — that was terrorism. The Boston Marathon bombing? Terrorism. Some people getting let into the Capitol and snapping some selfies? Not terrorism.

According to Biggs, the agenda behind the left’s fabricated Jan. 6 hysteria is not just to destroy Trump and sideline him for 2024, but something far more sweeping and insidious.

“They want you scared,” Biggs said, referring to ordinary law-abiding American citizens who oppose the Biden regime and everything it stands for. Biggs told Alex Jones “that the case against him and others involved in the Jan. 6 riot was politically motivated.” When he was convicted, Biggs said, “My heart hurt.” He explained, “They want to send a message to Americans that if you go to these events, if you are part of a political group, they’re going to throw you in prison for a long time.”

It makes sense. The Biden regime has given numerous indications of its taste for authoritarianism: its ill-fated Disinformation Governance Board, which would label some speech as “disinformation” (as was originally done with Hunter Biden’s laptop); its collaboration with Big Tech to silence and deplatform Americans who objected to its COVID propaganda; its determination to find something — anything — to hang on Trump to prevent him from running again in 2024, instead of just persuading enough Americans to vote for them; and more.

Authoritarian regimes use terror to remain in power. In the Gulag Archipelago, Alexander Solzhenitsyn explains that sometimes Stalin’s police would arrest and imprison people who were perfectly innocent, and it was no mistake: the Communist authorities wanted to terrorize the population into submission, making people think that they had to be extra careful to do everything that those authorities required, or else they might be the next ones to be arrested.

In the same way, Biggs says, “They don’t want you to go out and vote, they want people scared before it’s time to vote, and that’s why all this heat’s happening right now.” He points out that the sentences he and other Proud Boys have received are absurd and unjust, for “he and other members of the Proud Boys had ‘no plans’ to breach the U.S. Capitol on January 6 despite being charged with seditious conspiracy, which investigators could not formally determine with evidence.” Biggs added that Judge Kelly’s decision to treat his “shaking offense,” that is, shaking and knocking down the fence, as “terrorism” was “ridiculous,” and it most certainly was.

Related: Here’s Proof That Trump’s Trials Are Election Interference

“We went there that day with no plan, with nothing,” Biggs added. “We were there like every other American, but because we’re a political group… They’re going to put us in chains.” Indeed. If Biggs had been a member of Antifa or of whatever intelligence agency Ray Epps works for, he would be getting puff pieces in the New York Times instead of seventeen years in the slammer.

“There was no intelligence of a plan,” he maintains. “Not one of the rats that came forward said that there was a plan. Everyone said that there was zero plan of anything happening that day by us, and yet they got us for conspiracy to plan this. They said we had this meeting of the minds without ever actually saying anything, and it happened on the fly at the first breach. So apparently we all had this telekinesis power.”

This is not justice. This is not even any semblance of justice. This is naked terror. And its target is the American people. We are supposed to see what happened to Joe Biggs and be too frightened to continue to dissent. Instead, we should, and must, speak out all the more loudly.

New Mexico Governor Suspends Open & Concealed Carry Claiming Public Health Order, RIGHT TO SUSPEND HER OATH OF OFFICE, claims she has the power because “gun violence” is a “public health crisis.”

New Mexico Carry Prohibition is a Crime

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham issued a public health order suspending open and concealed carry of firearms in Bernalillo County public places for the next 30 days. Bernalillo County is the home of Albuquerque.

The Governor announced in a press conference Friday that she was taking the extraordinary step after the death of an 11-year-old due to a gunshot and several other shootings. She made the announcement alongside other New Mexico officials, all of whom had taken solemn oaths to support and defend the Constitution.

The Governor claims she has the power because “gun violence” is a “public health crisis.”

The order will almost certainly be challenged on Constitutional grounds. The move seems to run afoul of the Bruen Decision, which said individuals have the right to carry firearms outside the home. The Supreme Court did not make any exceptions for “public health.” In fact, the decision knocked down interest balancing. The Governor stated she expects legal challenges to the order.

AmmoLand News has reached out to several gun rights organizations to get comments. Gun Owners of America (GOA) responded, and the organization is aware of the Governor’s actions and is looking at options to challenge it.

One Cuban American who works for GOA compared the order to the country his family fled.

“New Mexico’ Governor has violated the rights of New Mexico’s law-abiding citizens in a manner I would only expect to see 90 miles off the coast of Florida,” said Luis Valdes, Florida Director, GOA. “In the Communist Hellscape that is Cuba. Criminals will continue to break the law, and the law-abiding will suffer because of it.”

Besides the restriction on carrying firearms outside of one’s residence, there were several other stipulations introduced. Including one measure that will place increased pressure on the locally owned and operated gun shops, implementing monthly inspections of federal firearms licensees (FFL) by the state.

• The Regulation and Licensing Division will conduct monthly inspections of licensed firearm dealers to ensure compliance with all sales and storage laws.
• The Department of Health, along with the Environment Department, will begin wastewater testing for illegal substances such as fentanyl at schools.
• The Department of Health will compile and issue a comprehensive report on gunshot victims presenting at hospitals in New Mexico, which shall include (if available): demographic data of gunshot victims, including age, gender, race, and ethnicity; data on gunshot victims’ healthcare outcomes; the brand and caliber of the firearm used; the general circumstances leading to the injury; the impact of gunshot victims on New Mexico’s healthcare system; and any other pertinent information.
• No firearms are allowed on state property, including state buildings and schools. This also includes other places of education where children gather, such as parks.
• New Mexico State Police will add officers in Albuquerque with funding for overtime provided.
• The Children, Youth, and Families Department will immediately suspend the Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative and evaluate juvenile probation protocols.

No lawsuits have been announced, but it is not a question of if. It is only a question of how many and when the cases will be filed.

UPDATE 9/9/2023 Local Law Enforcement have begun to weigh in:

Statement from Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen:

“…However, as the elected Sheriff, I have reservations regarding this order. While I understand and appreciate the urgency, the temporary ban challenges the foundation of our Constitution, which I swore an oath to uphold. I am wary of placing my deputies in positions that could lead to civil liability conflicts, as well as the potential risks posed by prohibiting law-abiding citizens from their constitutional right to self-defense.

I was elected to represent and safeguard all constituents and to ensure the balance between our rights and public safety is maintained. That means we must critically evaluate any proposed solution to the deeply rooted issue of gun violence, ensuring we both protect our community and uphold the values that define us as a nation.”  ~ Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen.

Albuquerque Police Department Chief Medina sent the following message to APD officers about the governor’s state order on gun possession.

UPDATE 9/10/2023

Late Saturday, September 9th, 2023, Gun Owners of America filed a Temporary Restraining Order against the NM Governor’s unconstitutional order.

New Mexico Gov Who Banned Firearms in Albuquerque Says Her Oath Is Not ‘Absolute’~NRA Condemns Dem Governor For Temporarily Suspending Open And Concealed Carry

New Mexico Gov Who Banned Firearms in Albuquerque Says Her Oath Is Not 'Absolute'
AP Photo/Morgan Lee
Republicans in New Mexico are calling for her impeachment. Elon Musk called her executive order banning firearms from being carried in public for 30 days “next-level illegal”.

But New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is defending her order, claiming it was necessary to protect “public health,” and besides, her oath to uphold the Constitution was not “absolute.”

“No constitutional right, in my view, including my oath, is intended to be absolute,” she retorted after being asked whether her order violated her oath of office to “uphold the Constitution.”

It’s true there are exceptions to most of our Constitutional rights. We can’t yell “Fire!” in a crowded theater, for example. There’s also the “fighting words doctrine” that makes incitement to violence illegal.

But anyone who claims there are exceptions to their oath needs to be impeached. The words “oath” and “absolute” pretty much go together. And this cretin of a governor is looking to separate them because she’s gotten herself in a heap of trouble.

Exclusively for our VIPs: Dems Hate the Constitution: New Mexico Gov. Bans Gun Carry in Albuquerque

The ban on carrying firearms in public grew out of recent shootings where children were caught in the crossfire. Our hearts bleed for the kids, but just how in the name of all that is good and holy will banning the concealed or open-carrying of guns prevent kids from getting killed?

New York Times:

At a news conference on Friday, [Grisham] said that shootings have amounted to an epidemic and that the suspension allowed for a “cooling-off period” for the state to figure out the best way to address gun violence and public safety. She said she expected the suspension to be challenged in court and could not guarantee it would stand.

“I welcome the debate and the fight about making New Mexicans safer,” she said.

Gun violence is sort of like a disease — “amounted to an epidemic” — so let’s toss the Constitution into the trash. After all, isn’t that what the government did during the pandemic?

The National Association for Gun Rights has already filed suit to block the executive order. Legal experts believe the suit is a slam dunk. But Lujan-Grisham is undeterred. She believes 1+1=3.

“I have emergency powers,” she said. “Gun violence is an epidemic. Therefore, it’s an emergency.”

Huh? This woman gives non-sequiturs a bad name.

Patrick Carter, co-director for the University of Michigan’s Institute for Firearm Injury Prevention, said there was evidence that fewer guns lead to less violence in an area. However, he said, there was not enough data or research to determine whether or not this ban would have an effect on preventing firearm injuries, which he said required “a comprehensive approach that blends policy with other types of interventions.”

Let’s just say it: New Mexico’s governor panicked.

Robert Leider, an assistant professor of law at George Mason University, said bans like this have been issued “when you have public disorders or other states of emergency, but most states of emergency usually involve something more acute.” He expressed skepticism that the ban would be upheld in court. “I’m not aware of any precedent for this just for general criminal wrongdoing,” he said.

The effort to tie public health to an inability to enforce gun laws is one of the left’s most cynical end runs around the Constitution. In this instance, the exercise is likely to be shot down in record time.

NRA Condemns Dem Governor For Temporarily Suspending Open And Concealed Carry

New Mexico’s Democrat governor, Michelle Lujan Grisham, came under fire from the National Rifle Association (NRA) for temporarily restricting open and concealed carry across Albuquerque and neighboring Bernalillo County due to an emergency public health order.

“In a shocking move, Governor Lujan Grisham is suspending Second Amendment rights by administrative fiat, ignoring the U.S. Constitution and the New Mexico Constitution,” NRA-ILA Executive Director Randy Kozuch told the press.

The Democrat governor, according to the NRA head, should eliminate “soft-on-crime policies.” According to police statistics, 76 homicide victims have been reported in Albuquerque so far this year, which is fewer than the 93 victims reported during the same period last year.

“Instead of undermining the fundamental rights of law-abiding New Mexicans, she should address the soft-on-criminal policies which truly endanger its citizens,” Kozuch said.

In an executive order made public on Friday, Lujan Grisham temporarily banned the open and concealed carry regulations in Bernalillo County for at least 30 days. The shootings of a 13-year-old girl in July, a 5-year-old girl in August, and an 11-year-old boy this month served as the impetus for the statement.

“As I said yesterday, the time for standard measures has passed,” the governor said, according to her office’s press release on the order. “And when New Mexicans are afraid to be in crowds, to take their kids to school, to leave a baseball game – when their very right to exist is threatened by the prospect of violence at every turn – something is very wrong.”

On Friday, the governor held a press conference where she boldly said that no constitutional right is “absolute.”

“No constitutional right, in my view, including my oath, is intended to be absolute,” Lujan Grisham said after a reporter asked whether it’s “unconstitutional” to force Americans not to exercise their right to bear arms.

“There are restrictions on free speech. There are restrictions on my freedoms. In this emergency, this 11-year-old, and all these parents who have lost all these children, they deserve my attention to have the debate about whether or not, in an emergency, we can create a safer environment. Because what about their constitutional rights?” she said.

The reporter continued by inquiring of the Democrat governor whether she thought that criminal offenders with access to black market weapons would obey her directives on the 30-day suspension.

“Uh, no,” she responded. After that question, she reportedly went into a tangent about the importance of reporting crimes to law enforcement.

The National Association for Gun Rights and a local, unnamed resident have already launched a lawsuit against Grisham for “violating their Second Amendment rights.”

“Gov. Luhan Grisham is throwing up a middle finger to the Constitution and the Supreme Court,” Dudley Brown said. Dudley is the president of the National Association for Gun Rights.

The USCCA’s recently established 501(c)(4) group, the U.S. Concealed Carry Association for Saving Lives Action Fund, also denounced the order “in the strongest possible terms.”

“Not only does Governor Grisham lack the constitutional authority to implement such an unprecedented assault on the Second Amendment rights of New Mexico citizens, but it strikes at the very heart of what responsible gun owners have been saying for years – criminals do not follow the law, and this order only serves to punish law-abiding gun owners who protect their community,” said Katie Pointer Baney, chairman of the board and executive director of the USCCA-FSL Action Fund.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, the NRA emphasized that the New Mexico Bill of Rights guarantees the right to keep and carry guns for “security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes.”

A statute permitting people to file a $2 million lawsuit if their constitutional rights are infringed was enacted by the governor in 2021.

“Under the New Mexico Civil Rights Act, signed into law by @GovMLG, a person whose rights under the Bill of Rights are violated may sue to recover for damages and obtain injunctive relief. Damages may be awarded up to $2 million per person whose rights were violated,” the NRA said.

“The NRA remains committed to defending the rights of every American and sounding the alarm on such dangerous and unconstitutional proposals that prevent the law-abiding from defending themselves and their families from violent criminals who have overtaken this state under her watch,” Kozuch added.

Leftist Gets Five Years for Killing Republican Teen With Car

Your ‘Justice’ System at Work: Leftist Who Ran Over and Killed ‘Republican Extremist’ Teen Gets Just Five Years in Prison

Your ‘Justice’ System at Work: Leftist Who Ran Over and Killed ‘Republican Extremist’ Teen Gets Just Five Years in Prison
Shannon Brandt (Stutsman County Jail)
Two-tier justice system? Absolutely. Joe Biggs, a member of the Proud Boys who dared to shake a fence at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, has just been sentenced to seventeen years in prison for doing so. And on Friday, a leftist thug named Shannon Brandt was also sentenced. Brandt ran over and killed a teenager, Cayler Ellingson because he thought Ellingson was a “Republican extremist.” For that, Brandt will serve five years in prison, minus almost a year that he has already served under house arrest. It would be fitting if Brandt and Biggs could be sentenced to the same prison so that Brandt could say goodbye to Biggs when he gets freed and thank his lucky stars that another “Republican extremist” is safely behind bars.

Fargo, N.D.’s KVRR reported that after Brandt completes his ridiculously light sentence, or whatever portion of it he actually does serve before some leftist judge springs him, “he will then serve a period of supervised release.” Presumably, this will include supervision while he is driving, in case any other “Republican extremists” dare to venture out onto the streets while this maniac is behind the wheel.

Brandt, according to KVRR, was “initially charged with intentional homicide in the case,” which was altogether fitting and proper, as it was based upon “a state trooper’s report that Brandt and Ellingson had gotten in a political argument which escalated.” However, “that report was later discounted, but not before conservative political figures, including former President Donald Trump, and some media outlets seized on it to advance a narrative of left-wing violence.”

Why was this report discounted? Was that decision also politically motivated? After all, court documents note that “Brandt stated that the pedestrian called some people and Brandt was afraid they were coming to get him. Brandt admitted to State Radio that he hit the pedestrian and that the pedestrian was part of a Republican extremist group.” That certainly sounds like left-wing violence, unless you’re a fellow leftist who wants to pretend that this sort of thing doesn’t happen. “The State Medical Examiner’s Office,” KVRR continues, “later concluded it was an accident and that Brandt was trying to escape a confrontation with Ellingson when he ran him over.”

What a coincidence, that Brandt would be involved in an accident involving someone with whom he had just had a political argument. Brandt’s attorney, Mark Friese, insists that his man “stayed on the scene” after hitting Ellingson, but according to a Sept. 2022 report in Fox News, Brandt fled the scene. If that is accurate, it is odd behavior if the whole thing was an accident. Why wouldn’t he stick around, so as to emphasize that he was horrified at the accident, sorry that it happened, and ready as a good citizen to take responsibility?

Even worse, State’s Attorney Kara Brinster “alleged that Brandt’s statements to investigators didn’t align with the evidence in the case and that he didn’t take sufficient accountability for Ellingson’s death.” Nevertheless, she was responsible for the slap on the wrist Brandt received, as she “requested five years incarceration with credit for time served and three years of supervised release.” Good thing he just killed a patriot with his car and then may have left the scene; Brandt didn’t have the poor judgment to do something serious, like shake a fence.

Related: Animal Who Ran Over, Killed Teen He Thought Was a ‘Republican Extremist’ Walks Out of Jail Days later

The light sentence Brandt received was partly based on the fact that he was diagnosed with autism, “which the experts said impacted his ability to interpret social situations and prompted an exaggerated reaction and response to the confrontation with Ellingson.” But wait a minute: if the whole thing is supposed to be an accident, what “exaggerated reaction and response” did Brant have after his “confrontation with Ellingson”? He was also drinking.

Judge Bradley Cruff didn’t explain that anomaly as he addressed Brandt: “You didn’t intentionally run him over. I acknowledge that. I understand what the experts in this case are saying about how your mind works. And you didn’t intentionally kill Cayler. But he did die. And that’s a result of your alcohol consumption. You recklessly pushed Cayler to the ground with your SUV, you recklessly ran him over, and you recklessly killed him.” That’s an awful lot of recklessness to be an accident. Ellingson’s mother “asked Cruff not to follow the plea agreement and to give Brandt the maximum sentence for manslaughter, which is ten years,” but to no avail.

Brandt addressed the courtroom, professing to be full of contrition and saying, among other things, “I am truly devastated by the impact this has had on the entire community.” And he wasn’t even talking about the impact of our two-tier justice system.

President Joe Biden appeared in a press conference where he said “I’ll just follow my orders here.”

On Sunday, the 46th president spoke at a conference in Hanoi Vietnam, and met with General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Biden stood at the podium and read his prepared remarks while looking at his notes for the majority of the time.

After the speech, the Democrat delivered a press conference where he opened up another discussion by reportedly making a joke about the Vietnam War and asking for questions from reporters.

Biden stated that he would take questions from five reporters, but he could not locate the paper list of particular reporters he was supposed to call on that was prepared by White House officials.

He then proceeded to say that he would just “follow his orders from staff.”

In the end, Biden declared that he was “going to bed,” appearing more irate and mentally disoriented.

Due to Biden’s senile mannerisms, his critics have frequently called him “Sleepy Joe,” and online users have commented and poked fun at the press conference footage.

“I’ll just follow my orders here. Uh — Staff, is there anybody that hasn’t spoken yet? I ain’t calling on you! I told you, I only have five questions!” He shouted.

Pelosi Is Running Again, and You’ll Never Believe Why

Pelosi Says She’s Running Again in a Statement That You Have to See to Believe

Pelosi Says She’s Running Again in a Statement That You Have to See to Believe
AP Photo/Jose Luis Magana
The Once and Possibly Future Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, has announced that she is getting ready for another two years at the taxpayer trough, and she released a brief statement explaining why. Of course, she couldn’t say anything about making a killing in the stock market or continuing to work for the imprisonment of the Biden regime’s chief political opponent, so she had to be a bit imaginative. And oh boy, was she.Pelosi’s statement, which she published on Twitter/X at noon on Friday, read in full:

Now more than ever our City needs us to advance San Francisco values and further our recovery. Our country needs America to show the world that our flag is still there, with liberty and justice for ALL. That is why I am running for reelection — and respectfully ask for your vote. -Nancy

You gotta hand it to Pelosi’s staff. This simple fifty-one-word statement is a veritable Gettysburg Address of cynicism, disingenuousness, and deception. “Now more than ever” — Why? Pelosi has gushed about Old Joe Biden and his sinister regime, keeping a straight face as she hailed “the historic progress Democrats are forging for the people — under the leadership of the great president of the United States, Joe Biden.” She even added that Biden was “just perfect!”

So isn’t San Francisco enjoying the benefits of this glorious regime? Apparently not, although Pelosi doesn’t explain why somehow “San Francisco values” have been suffering, or why the city is in need of any “recovery.” Recovery during the regime of this “perfect” president? It’s puzzling indeed, as are the “San Francisco values” that are apparently imperiled. What are San Francisco's values? Improbably steep hills? LGBTQ dogmatism and transgender madness? Pooping in the streets?

Whatever they are, they need “recovery,” and that presents yet another problem if you’re thinking about the actual meaning of Pelosi’s statement, which she is evidently hoping you aren’t. Nancy Pelosi has been a member of the House of Representatives since 1987. So if there is trouble in her district, it’s safe to say that after thirty-six years, it’s her responsibility, and if her district needs any “recovery,” it’s from Nancy Pelosi herself. How can this woman claim to spearhead San Francisco’s “recovery” if it is in the shape it’s in because of the policies she has advocated?

Has Nancy Pelosi been in Congress for over three and a half decades only to have her wishes thwarted at every turn, but by golly, if San Franciscans will just give her a nineteenth term in Congress, she’ll get it right this time and turn the city around?

Then there is the business of showing the world that our flag is still there. Which flag does Pelosi mean? The stars and stripes or the LGBTQETC rainbow flag that seems much dearer to the hearts of doctrinaire leftists all over the country, who tend to view patriotism as revolting declassé, and even a sign of Trumpian insurrectionism?

If she means the American flag, it’s an exceedingly strange statement. Pelosi has been an America-Last globalist internationalist as long as there have been such people in the corridors of power; now she’s flying the flag? If she were a representative from a red state, one might surmise that she was feigning patriotism in order to get votes, but the lady is from San Francisco. She doesn’t have to pretend to love America to get the votes of San Franciscans.

The only part that made any sense was her determination to guarantee “liberty and justice for ALL.” That means total liberty for drag queens to groom children in primary schools and justice for one Donald J. Trump, albeit not for Hunter Biden and certainly not for the Pelosis themselves, all of whom are card-carrying members of the Leftists Who Are Above the Law Club.

Pelosi concludes by “respectfully” asking her constituents for their votes; then the octogenarian power broker who is only marginally more coherent than Old Joe Biden signs off with a girlish “Nancy.” She needn’t have bothered with any of this. She could have tweeted: “I will be requiring my House seat for another two years, peasants. Your vote is expected” and San Franciscans, apparently bent on civic suicide, would have flocked to vote for her in similar numbers.

It was helpful, however, for Pelosi’s staff to give us this statement. It’s a bracing reminder of just how manipulative and dishonest the dominant left really is, and how little they think of those who have enabled their lavish lifestyles. Wouldn’t it be marvelous if San Franciscans threw Pelosi’s repulsive statement back in her face in Nov. 2024 and didn’t award her the coronation she expects? But that’s about as likely as California voting for the hated Trump.

Biden Wants to Confine Illegal Immigrants to Texas; Governor Abbott Replies, ‘Guess Again.’

It has been said by many that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results, and the Biden administration’s open-door policy on the border would certainly meet that definition. But coming up with the idea to consolidate the rising number of illegal immigrants in one state, without so much as a mother-may-I or an if-you-please to the governor of said state, could be considered the definition of tyranny.

Of course, the administration has continued to plug its ears and shout, “LA LA LA. I CAN’T HEAR YOU!” when it comes to the problems raised by illegal immigration, although it has probably had a harder time doing so when the two cities making the headlines are the effervescent blue Chicago and New York.

As even the most casual readers of PJ Media will know, Biden and Co. have an unmitigated mess on their hands after throwing out the welcome mat (not to mention the welcome app) at the southern border, and the aforementioned sanctuary cities are trying to turn on the “NO” lights in their “VACANCY” signs. As any good progressive administration would do, the Biden camp refuses to admit that it was wrong and will continue to do so until Joe is escorted out of the White House and into a cryogenics lab in Rehoboth Beach. But in the wake of Eric Adams’ woeful lament/eulogy over New York City, Biden and Mayokas have managed to extract a plan from their posteriors.

Biden’s plan is to keep the illegals in Texas. This is despite or perhaps because Gov. Greg Abbott (R-Texas) has shored up border security and has repeatedly shipped illegals to more welcoming precincts. What’s a little revenge among political enemies? It’s worked for every other banana republic in history. Then again, maybe all the beach houses in Martha’s Vineyard are closed up for the season.

But here is where it gets interesting. According to a story in the L.A. Times, under Biden’s proposal, families would be held in Texas. Not the young military-aged men of various nations. Perhaps they will be deported, that is if they are apprehended. Lest I be accused of offering laurels to Biden and his cabinet, I want to state that while the plan does not come close to actually securing the border, one can see how the plan would work.

“Certain” families would have to remain in Texas or other states along the border until they underwent a screening process. If they do not pass muster, they can be easily deported because of their proximity to the border. And how will the administration ensure that these “certain families” stay put? With an ankle monitor, naturally, because no one has ever figured out how to get one of those off.

And it is hardly difficult to disappear in a state the size of Texas. The Times story said that it can be more difficult for the government to deport families than individuals due to the logistics needed to find children and parents. DHS has been mulling the idea of targeting families from Central America since larger numbers can be deported to those countries.

Given this administration’s previous track record with migrant families, I would not place a great deal of faith in this endeavor. Likely, it is all for show and may well never get off the ground, and if it does, it may be so poorly administered that it is of no use at all. Biden will be able to complain to the public about how his administration came up with a plan, but of course, it was ruined by the usual MAGA suspects.

Migrant advocacy groups are unhappy with the plan. And for that matter, neither is Abbott. Fox News notes that Abbott took to X yesterday to not only state categorically that Biden’s pipe dream was destined for the landfill of history but also to declare that in terms of busing illegals, Biden ain’t seen nothing yet.

Hey, Governor, why not throw Rehoboth Beach in there? I’m sure Biden has some room next to the ‘Vette. Obviously, this is a scheme designed to make Biden look like he is doing something about immigration without actually doing something about immigration, and it has the added bonus of letting the administration flip the bird at Abbott.

But on a more ominous note, it also sends the message that Biden and his people have no compunction about throwing their weight around without any regard for federalism or the Constitution. They want Abbott and the rest of us to know who’s boss. To the current administration, the country is its playground, checking account, and social laboratory.

Comer Makes an Announcement About Biden Impeachment Inquiry

On Thursday evening, House Oversight Committee chairman Rep.  James Comer (R-Ky.) appeared on Newsmax TV’s “Rob Schmitt Tonight” and revealed that he believes the House GOP has the votes to open up an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

“Where are we with the impeachment inquiry?” host Rob Schmitt asked. “And do you think there are still even—though most people know this man is corrupt—are there still some limp-wristed Republicans who might vote no if this was put to an impeachment vote?”

“I do believe that we have the votes for an impeachment inquiry,” Comer responded. “I think that with the revelation of all these emails, you know that Joe Biden was communicating with Hunter Biden about his business about all of the corruption that he was involved in. I think that was the straw that broke the camel’s back with a few of the Republicans who were a little nervous about going the route of impeachment inquiry. They realized that we need this tool to be able to win in court because that’s where we’re headed. We’ve just about picked all the low-hanging fruit.”

Comer continued by pointing out that the House Oversight Committee surprised the Biden legal team by taking a measured approach to their investigation and subpoenaed Hunter Biden as soon as the GOP took back the majority. “Any request we had, they would have said there’s pending litigation and they would have run the clock out,” Comer said. “But, we got the shell companies, we’ve got the bank records of the shell companies. So, we built a case, Rob, that would win in court.”

Comer added that he never expected there would actually be emails between Joe Biden and Hunter Biden talking about business or Ukraine, and that he “never dreamed” that Biden would be using pseudonyms to do so.

So, what’s the next step? Schmitt asked Comer when we can expect to see action by the House GOP.

“I think that the House will vote in September,” Comer predicted. “Now, this is all up to Kevin McCarthy, but he and I’ve had several conversations. I know Jim Jordan has spoken with him many times as well. I would predict that in the middle of September, we have a vote. I will predict that it passes, and I will predict that we will use that with all these government agencies that are refusing to turn over valuable information like the National Archives.”

I hope he’s right. If he is, an impeachment inquiry will begin this month. Let’s hope Speaker McCarthy is down for it.
