Critical Race Theory at School is Weaponizing Kids Against America

Rumble — In this episode of Behind The Deep State, host Alex Newman explores the Marxist weapon known as "Critical Race Theory" and how it is being used to weaponize America's children against their own families and nation. The issue is never the issue, the issue is always the revolution, Newman explains. And that includes this "Race" and "Racism" issue. Do not let your children be brainwashed to believe these lies.

“Antiracism,” at first glance, suggests a noble idea challenging any form of racial supremacy. Yet as an ideology, it’s a highly effective weapon in the Left’s armory. But do Americans truly understand the core beliefs and values associated with the concept? Or how it works as a powerful tool to indoctrinate our children and young adults? Or how it’s used to convince people that it’s a righteous, responsible ideal we should not only embrace but celebrate?

A pervasive term in progressive dogma, “antiracism” demands that an “oppressor class,” i.e., white, straight, Christian males, must atone for its “power and privilege.” And today, “antiracism,” as an orthodoxy, is becoming increasingly prevalent and elevated in public schools and government institutions, as well as the corporate workplace and even some religious communities.

Originating from 19th-century revolutionary ideals drawn from Marxist principles — which sought to overthrow capitalist governments and replace them with socialist ones, no matter the human cost — “antiracism” embodies the Orwellian idea of “ending racism by seeing it everywhere,” as proposed by James Lindsay and Helen Pluckrose in their book Cynical Theories: How Activist Scholarship Made Everything About Race, Gender, and Identity — And Why This Harms Everyone.

People cannot simply describe themselves as “not racist,” says antiracist expert Ibram X. Kendi, director of the Center for Antiracist Research at Boston University. “In order to be truly antiracist, you also have to be truly anti-capitalist.”

In Kendi’s America, “identity is the means and Marxism is the end,” explains documentary filmmaker and author Christopher Rufo in his essay, “Critical Race Theory: What It Is and How to Fight It.” Under this worldview, capitalism is overthrown by (racial or sexual) identity- and equity-based politics, resulting in “An equity-based form of government [that] would mean the end of not only private property, but also of individual rights, equality under the law, federalism, and freedom of speech. These would be replaced by race-based redistribution of wealth, group-based rights, active discrimination, and omnipotent bureaucratic authority,” writes Rufo.

An idea infiltrating our institutions through a methodology known as critical race theory (CRT), which holds that “race is a social construct that was created by white privilege and white supremacy,” according to Lindsay and Pluckrose, is the notion that all white people contribute to racism, and thus must conform to “antiracism.”

For decades, budding leftists have worked stealthily and subtly to transform and undermine the American education system and basic American freedoms. While Americans were sleeping, “woke” college professors have indoctrinated millions of millennials, who have strayed from family values and norms and entered a workforce prizing “diversity, equity, and inclusion” as defined by a singular worldview.

In September 2020, when President Trump banned CRT training in federal government agencies, the Left bore down even harder, with President Biden reversing Trump’s order and dissolving the 1776 Project, which sought to reinstate patriotic curriculum in the schools.

From “Common Core” to “Culturally Responsive”

Today, Democrat-led states, such as Illinois, Washington, Oregon, New York, and California, require educators to abide by rigorous new rules, including Culturally Responsive Teaching and Leading Standards (CRTL Standards), which demand teachers become “culturally responsive” to a host of social and political issues, and “create curriculum content to include a counter-narrative to dominant culture,” among other mandates.

These new regulations are setting a strong precedence, to be incorporated into all teacher trainings and certification requirements. Moreover, teachers who refuse to comply could face disciplinary action or termination.

Just this week, Washington State Governor Jay Inslee, a Democrat, signed into law Senate Bill 5044, ensuring K-12 educators will “continue the important work of dismantling institutional racism in public schools and recognize the importance of increasing equity, diversity, inclusion, antiracism, and cultural competency training throughout the entire public school system by providing training programs for classified staff, certificated instructional staff, certificated administrative staff, superintendents, and school directors.”

Per this bill, as illustrated in a report by the state Senate Committee on Early Learning and K-12 Education, teachers will adopt “updated cultural competency standards” comprised of “anti-racism standards, an equity framework, and culturally responsive instruction.”

Additionally, educators must demonstrate knowledge of the following concepts:

  • cultural competency, or “awareness of student cultural histories and contexts, as well as family norms and values in different cultures”
  • diversity, “the presence of similarities and differences within a given setting, collective, or group based on multiple factors including race and ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability status, age, etc.”
  • equity, “developing, strengthening, and supporting procedural and outcome fairness in systems, procedures, and resource distribution mechanisms to create equitable opportunities for all individuals.”
  • inclusion, “describes intentional efforts and consistent sets of actions to create and sustain a sense of respect, belonging, safety, and attention to individual needs and backgrounds.”

Long gone are the three Rs, as none of the foundational concepts of reading, writing, and arithmetic are mentioned in the new standards. Moreover, using taxpayer funds, the Washington state school district will require educators to complete several days of professional learning during the school year, focusing on one or more of the topics of cultural competency, diversity, equity, or inclusion.

In a recent presentation, Alex Newman, education writer and executive director of Public School Exit, likened government schools to a burning building from which parents must get their children out. “Do not let your children be brainwashed to believe these lies,” said Newman, who encourages homeschooling as the primary solution to pushing back on a system that increasingly divides children into “oppressed” and “oppressor groups” and claims that “white teachers are guilty of spirit murdering black children.”

Rufo, who is spearheading the movement to abolish critical race theory indoctrination in America’s public institutions, has been tracking introduced legislation in states across the country, including ArizonaArkansasIdahoIowa, and Louisiana, among others, that are banning the promotion of “race essentialism, collective guilt, and state-sanctioned racism.”

These Republican-controlled states are prohibiting “divisive” and “dangerous” bills that demand children identify their race, gender (at this point in time there are more than 60 terms for gender identities), and sexual orientation based on alleged notions of “oppression,” “white privilege,” and “systemic racism,” for the purpose of advancing social activism.

House bills in TexasTennessee, and Missouri, for example, bar “the teaching of ‘divisive concepts’ in state agencies and public schools, including universities.” Other states, such as Iowa, have initiated House and Senate bills that prohibit “race stereotyping and divisive concepts in state agencies, including schools; restrict funding to public schools, including universities, for teaching 1619 Project curriculum materials; and offer First Amendment protections, prohibiting race and sex stereotyping and divisive concepts in public institutions.”

The debate must move from the academic to the political realm, as Rufo suggests, and we are beginning to see that happen, which is a step in the right direction.

Since 2010, when Common Core ushered in a cornucopia of government-issued standards of education, far-left ideologues have been rewriting the roles of educators. The CRTL standards are also game-changing and will alter public education for a generation of children. Teachers and parents nationwide must be made aware of the proposed revisions, as the impact of these states’ decision to embrace critical race theory will be lifelong.

“When they see what is happening, Americans are naturally outraged,” writes Rufo. “Critical race theory promotes three ideas — race essentialism, collective guilt, and neo-segregation — which violate the basic principles of liberty and justice…. We must have courage — the fundamental virtue required in our time…. Truth and justice are on our side. If we can muster the courage, we will win.”

Virginia Gubernatorial Candidate Glenn Youngkin Blasts State’s “Woke” Culture in Education

Virginia Gubernatorial Candidate Glenn Youngkin Blasts State’s “Woke” Culture in Education

A multi-millionaire, former chief executive of a private equity group, who has never held political office, is emerging as a top candidate for Virginia governor, as state Republicans prepare to nominate their candidate in the coming November election. Fifty-four-year-old Glenn Youngkin is one of seven Republicans hoping to secure the nomination during the state’s “drive-through” convention, which will take place at 37 locations throughout the state on May 8.

Youngkin hopes to be the GOP candidate to replace the current governor, the controversial Ralph Northam, a Democrat. His likely opponent from the Democrat side looks to be former Virginia governor and longtime Bill and Hillary Clinton associate Terry McAuliffe.

In Virginia, the governor is not allowed to serve consecutive terms, which is why Northam will definitely be out next January.

Youngkin had some harsh words for educators in the state who wish to bow to “woke” elements and remove accelerated and remedial math courses from the state’s schools, as well as teach critical race theory to students.

Speaking to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson on Tuesday, Youngkin lamented the direction that the Virginia Department of Education and some school districts in the state have taken in terms of teaching children.

“What they’re next onto is actually not awarding advanced diplomas to kids who have earned them in high school; to taking the Pledge of Allegiance and the Fourth of July out of the curriculum of things that actually bind us together, unite us as Americans and Virginians. And it just seems that Terry McAuliffe and the left, liberal Democrats here want to take our education policy from having everybody in the fast lane to putting everybody in the broken down lane,” Youngkin said.

“In education, they want to teach our kids what to think,” Youngkin said. “They want to teach them critical race theory and they want to take accelerated math out of the curriculum. “I want to teach our kids how to think, and not have critical race theory in the curriculum and, actually yes, teach accelerated math.”

The Virginia Mathematics Pathway Initiative (VMPI) — a joint project between the Virginia Department of Education, the State Council of Higher Education and the Virginia Community College System — is a proposal to “modernize” the state’s math curriculum. Among the proposals for “modernizing” the math curriculum is to do away with labels such as algebra and geometry and instead blend those courses “into a seamless progression of connected learning.” Instead of the labels for certain types of math, the schools would simply refer to them all as “essential concepts.”

Although state officials have denied that the proposal does away with the various levels of math, many parents in the state are still concerned about much of the language in the VMPI’s proposal.

As for critical race theory being taught, nowhere is that concept more in the news than the Loudon County School District, where teachers have been told to “disrupt and dismantle this systemic racism,” that allegedly occurs throughout America.

According to Youngkin, the reason he quit his high-paying job at private equity giant the Carlyle Group — which reportedly earned him $254 million over the years — and decided to run for governor was that he “could not recognize his home state of Virginia,” after ten years of Democrat rule.

“This is exactly what we’re seeing from the Democrats and particularly Terry McAuliffe is that they’re on the wrong side of every issue.”

“I’m homegrown and I love the commonwealth of Virginia,” Youngkin said. “I was so frustrated with the Republican Party because the Republican Party had not mounted a winning campaign in over ten years. So I left my job and prepared to run for governor.”

While seven GOP candidates are in the running for the nomination on Saturday, election observers believe that it’s really a four-person race with Youngkin, State Senator Amanda Chase, State Representative Kirk Cox, and entrepreneur Pete Snyder.

Chase is actively courting Trump supporters, calling herself “Trump in heels.” Cox appears to be the favorite of the GOP establishment, and Snyder, who is portraying himself as a political outsider, has been endorsed by former Trump officials Sarah Sanders and Ken Cuccinelli. Youngkin, who just snagged an endorsement from prominent GOP Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), is also running as a political outsider, despite being a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the establishment powerhouse that has exercised extraordinary influence over government policy for generations.

Anti-BLM Parent: America Won’t “Survive Teaching Our Children to Hate Their Country and Their History”

Anti-BLM Parent: America Won’t “Survive Teaching Our Children to Hate Their Country and Their History”

George Santayana’s famous saying “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it” requires some delineation:

  • Those who cannot remember the triumphs of the past are likely condemned not to repeat them, and
  • Those who are told the mistakes of the past were triumphs will repeat them.

New York City parent Andrew Gutmann understands this well. Gutmann, who attracted national attention by issuing a now-viral letter addressed to Brearley School parents warning of the institution’s fatal race obsession, has sounded another alarm.

“We already do a horrific job in this country teaching history, and now we’re going to make that 10 times worse, we’re going to eradicate that,” the father told Fox News in a new interview.

“Our country doesn’t survive not teaching history and civics, and it sure as hell doesn’t survive teaching our children to hate their country and their history.”

Gutmann is correct: What he warned of regarding posh private school Brearly, which he pulled his daughter from recently after seven years’ attendance, is a nationwide phenomenon.

Moreover, the Critical Race Theory obsession now sweeping academia — which teaches hatred of whites, America, and Western culture — is just the latest iteration of the Howard Zinn-aided, Gramscian march through the institutions that began many, many decades ago.

Gutmann said in his interview that Brearly parents — who pay $54,000-yearly tuition for the indoctrination — and their children were pressured by the school to become Black Lives Matter (BLM) activists.

This is despite BLM being a neo-Marxist organization whose members once chanted that they want “dead cops.” The group also demands the abolition of police; the “repeal of all immigration restrictions”; “the legalization of sex work”; “the destruction of the Western-prescribed nuclear family”; and, according to a report last year by commentator Tucker Carlson, “the forced reallocation of farmland” (à la Zimbabwe).

Tellingly, some of these toxic positions were featured on BLM’s website — until the group gained greater institutional acceptance and removed its older “Guiding Principles” page so it could masquerade as palatable. (The original page can still be found via an archiving service here.)

Yet many American schools are now taking a leaf from BLM’s book. As for Brearly, Gutmann says that the school “made it sound like they’re going to integrate this racial curriculum, this anti-racism curriculum, into everything — every class, into math, into gym, P.E.; it was shocking that they were taking that degree of integrating it into everything.”

Note that this is a hallmark of “ideological nations,” where the official state ideology is “pervasive,” to use a word Gutmann did when describing BLM racialism’s dominance at Brearly.

The father also mentioned that the Left’s new “Silence is violence” mentality reigns at the school. If “you just stay silent, you’re racist,” he lamented. “You have to be an activist for that. If you’re not an activist for an anti-racism initiative, for Black Lives Matter, for example, you are racist, you are a bad person, you are an oppressor, you are not doing the right thing.”

You can watch clips of Gutmann’s interview here. His original letter, which is quite compelling, was related in the video below.

One of the most striking things about the Critical Race Theory phenomenon is how unintellectual its embrace is. It basically originated last Tuesday (figuratively speaking), but “educators” coast to coast behave as if it’s enlightening, timeless brilliance from on high.

It’s a fad, and its popularity reflects a deeper problem: The prevalence of “changeist,” immature moderns who treasure the spirit of the age over the ageless, who prefer “Thursday over Wednesday because it is Thursday,” as G.K. Chesterton put it. Detached from and not believing in Truth, they’ll embrace a lie as long as it’s the latest thing on the cocktail-party circuit.

Today’s anti-American racialist lie is a destructive one, too. Author George Orwell once noted that the “most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.” This is now a fait accompli in America.

When I worked with kids, I once asked a small group of them who the “Father of America” was. Their answer wasn’t George Washington — it was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. These were upper-class white children, too.

Then there was the 14-year-old I was instructing in religious education who, I discovered, hadn’t heard of Adolf Hitler. Both these incidents occurred 15 to 20 years ago, too, do note.

Now, question: If you don’t know much about American history’s arguably most important figure or are ignorant of the 20th-century’s most notorious one, what of historical importance do you know?

Studies indicate that American youth don’t know much. This matters because, harking back to my opening lines, history is essentially a record of a series of man’s social experiments. And it’s as with a scientist: He remains mindful of his field’s record of experiments so that he can say, “Oh, we tried that before and it didn’t work” or “Yes, that bore fruit; we should now build upon it.”

Of course, though, if children know nothing of history, you can easily feed them a revisionist version of it and make them think that good was bad and bad, good. And now you know part of the reason why a 2020 poll found that “70 percent of Millennials say they are likely to vote for a socialist while one in three view communism favorably,” as Campus Reform reported last year.

Moreover, “22 percent of millennials believe ‘society would be better if all private property was abolished,’” the site also related.

And this is what happens when good history and virtue are abolished. But what needs to be abolished is any curriculum reflecting so-called “leftism” and any educator advocating it. Unless there’s a patriotic march through the institutions that tramples Gramsci’s ghost, what remains of the American spirit will be relegated to the grave.

MINNEAPOLIS: Police Refuse To Enter George Floyd Autonomous Zone, Force Bleeding Woman To Go To Them

"She is bleeding and cut everywhere, but we'll call back and ask her to move a block away."

Minneapolis police are refusing to enter the George Floyd Autonomous Zone, with emergency responders instructing a bleeding woman who was pushed out of a window to go to them.

Known as “George Floyd Square,” or “The Free State of George Floyd,”  the area surrounding the death site of Floyd has been operating as an Autonomous Zone independent from control of the police or emergency services since September last year, encompassing seven to eight blocks in total. With police refusing to enter lest they face violent reprisals from radical antifa or Black Lives Matter activists, victims of crime are left to fend for themselves, or meet police outside the zone.

One particularly disturbing incident took place at the end of last month, where a female victim was pushed out of a window in a domestic dispute on the corner of 38th and Elliot. Police dispatch audio revealed the attitude taken by police regarding breaching the George Floyd Autonomous Zone. “Is it possible to have her move at least a block away, maybe [to] 38 and 10th?” asked the police officer responding to her 911 call. “She is bleeding and cut everywhere, but we’ll call her back and ask her to move a block away,” the dispatcher responded, with the woman ordered to move, despite her severe injuries.

Multiple people have died within the George Floyd Autonomous Zone, with the police unable to respond to their calls. Leneesha Columbus, a pregnant black woman, was shot in the zone, and police officers set up their staging area half a mile away from the incident. “We’ll meet at 34th and Elliot, see if we can get the victim extracted to a closer location to us. And no lights or sirens, please,” an officer told dispatch. Columbus died. More recently, Imaz Wright was shot during a gang-related shooting on March 6th – police were informed that her and another victim would be carried to the edge of the zone. Wright died.

Even before the Autonomous Zone had been properly created, one man died due to “caretakers” of what was then just a memorial for Floyd blocking access to emergency services. Dameon Chambers was shot during a Juneteenth celebration last year, with city documents revealing that that police “ultimately had to pull Mr Chambers to an area” where the ambulance could gain access to.

Business owners and residents, many of them black, feel abandoned by the police and authorities. “The city left me in danger,” said Alexander W, the owner of the Smoke in The Pit restaurant to the New York Post last month. “They locked us up on here and left us behind,” he added, saying that they have no food or water either. Some of the businesses even set up a GoFundMe page, asking for donations to help them survive.

The border to the autonomous zone is currently guarded by Antifa activists. National File reported last month that the activists had threatened a reporter, telling him he would be “in a bad situation in a second” if he didn’t leave. At the border are instructions for anyone who wishes to enter, instructing visitors to “honour the space” and treat it with reverence. White people are specifically asked to “decenter” themselves, and monitor other white people for any “problematic” behavior.

The inspiration for the George Floyd Autonomous Zone, CHAZ, which sprung up in Seattle last Summer, also suffered a spate of shootings, with no response from police. One man who was shot in June even wanted to sue the police for not responding quickly enough, despite the fact that crowds reportedly resisted the police entering. However, unlike the Free State of George Floyd, which has now lasted for over 7 months, CHAZ was shut down by police after existing for just over three weeks.

200 Fascist Simon & Schuster Employees Demand Publisher Drop Books They Disagree With

BY ROBERT SPENCER

SEE: https://www.jihadwatch.org/2021/05/fascist-simon-schuster-employees-demand-publisher-drop-books-they-disagree-with;

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational & research purposes:

Proving once again that inside every “progressive” is a totalitarian screaming to get out. My latest in FrontPage:

Over 200 employees of Simon & Schuster have gone full fascist, signing a petition calling on the publishing giant to stop providing a platform for everyone except fellow leftist fascists. The haters of the freedom of speech made three demands:

1. Cancel the two-book deal with Mike Pence and do not sign any more book deals with former members of the Trump administration.
2. End Simon & Schuster’s distribution deal with Post Hill Press [which publishes conservative books].
3. Commit to ongoing reevaluations of all clients, authors, distribution deals, and all other financial commitments that promote white supremacist content and/or harm the aforementioned marginalized communities.

The fascists claimed that “when S&S chose to sign Mike Pence, we broke the public’s trust in our editorial process, and blatantly contradicted previous public claims in support of Black and other lives made vulnerable by structural oppression. Simon & Schuster has chosen complicity in perpetuating white supremacy by publishing Mike Pence and continuing to distribute books for Post Hill Press, including predator Matt Gaetz’s FIREBRAND. By choosing to publish Mike Pence, Simon & Schuster is generating wealth for a central figure of a presidency that unequivocally advocated for racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, anti-Blackness, xenophobia, misogyny, ableism, islamophobia, antisemitism, and violence. This is not a difference of opinions; this is legitimizing bigotry.”

Of course. No dissent from the left is a legitimate “difference of opinions,” because leftists see the world in a way that religious fanatics throughout history would find familiar: they alone have the vision of what is good and just, and since all those outside the fold are ignorant and evil, they have no rights that the arbiters of what constitutes acceptable opinion are bound to respect.

So far, however, Simon & Schuster’s chief executive Jonathan Karp has shown himself to be among the unredeemed. Karp reminded the fascists in his employ that the job of a publishing house was to allow for “a diversity of voices and perspectives.”Diversity! Karp’s choice of words must have driven the petitioners up the wall because like all leftists, they are no doubt extremely proud of their commitment to “diversity” in all forms except, of course, a genuine diversity of thought. Black and brown and queer and trans voices and all the rest are welcome among them, as long as they all think the same way and say the same thing. But here was Karp gently making it clear that the petitioners weren’t really in favor of diversity in any meaningful way. “We come to work each day to publish, not cancel,” he said, “which is the most extreme decision a publisher can make.”

For that he will likely be canceled himself before too long.

The American left long ago embraced authoritarianism and fascism and is increasingly intolerant of any point of view other than its own. Note that the petitioners included in its laundry list of denunciations the spurious propaganda neologism “Islamophobia.” “Islamophobia” is an illegitimate conflation of two distinct phenomena: crimes against innocent Muslims, which are never justified, and honest analysis of the motivating ideology of jihad terror, which is always necessary. It is inconceivable that anyone would want to publish a book calling for attacks on innocent Muslims or any innocent people, but there are many books discussing the motivating ideology of jihad terrorism.

Islamic advocacy groups and their leftist allies have been insisting for years that such books, too, constituted “Islamophobia.” Such analyses are what these fascists at Simon & Schuster want to stamp out. If the left succeeds in consolidating power, it will be impossible to publish, and likely illegal to enunciate publicly, any opposition to jihad violence and Sharia oppression of women and others, for there is no example of any such opposition not being considered “Islamophobic.”

The fascist employees also demanded that Simon & Schuster cut ties with my publisher, Post Hill Press (my last six books have been or are in the process of being published under Post Hill’s imprint, Bombardier Books), with which Simon & Schuster has a distribution arrangement. The petition libelously asserts that Post Hill “openly supports and normalizes violence against minors, Black women, and all Black people by individuals and the state.” This is, of course, not remotely true. It is how left-fascists lie in order to demonize and destroy their opponents. Although Karp has rejected this petition, expect to see much more of this sort of thing. We have not yet reached the high tide of left-fascism in America today.

LOUDON, VIRGINIA: Parent uncovers internal documents exposing school’s ‘woke’ agenda

LOUDOUN COUNTY PROJECT

Over the past year, Loudoun County Public Schools has become a national story for its implementation of critical race theory. This divisive experiment has resulted in attempts to silence dissent, it has divided the community, and created a culture of bullying in students, teachers, school administrators, and school board members.

In March of 2021, six members of the Loudoun County School Board were part of a private Facebook group that planned to target parents for opposing critical race theory in the school system. Those school board members did nothing to stop this activity nor did they attempt to communicate to their constituents that this was happening.

Meanwhile, the school administration sends out public statements about "silencing the opposition," debates firing teachers for providing negative feedback on critical race theory training, proposes unconstitutional dress codes, and refuses to honestly communicate with the public about its implementation of critical race theory.

With school board elections not held until 2023, it is imperative for parents to act now, recall these school board members, and hold new elections that will decide the future of education for our children.

Here are just some of the most recent examples of the incompetence and abuse of power demonstrated by Loudoun County Public Schools:

School board members reportedly targeting parents opposed to critical race theory

A private Facebook group made up of Virginia parents, teachers and school board members is reportedly targeting parents opposed to critical race theory — sparking an investigation by local law enforcement.

The group, which is called “anti-racist parents of Loudoun County,” consists of over 600 members, some of whom are accused of sharing personal information of parents who don’t support the controversial theory, WTOP News reported.

South Dakota Sues U.S. for Banning July 4th Fireworks at Mount Rushmore

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem filed suit against the Biden administration on Friday after it canceled the July 4th fireworks at Mount Rushmore.

According to Fox News, the suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of South Dakota Central Division.

Noem, a Republican, said in court papers: "Mount Rushmore is the very best place to celebrate America's birthday and all that makes our country special," Noem wrote. "After telling us they'd 'circle back,' the Biden administration has not responded to our request to uphold the Memorandum Agreement between the state of South Dakota and the National Parks Service to host a safe and responsible national celebration and fireworks show."

She maintained the administration has "departed from longstanding precedent and reneged on this agreement without any meaningful explanation."

And she added: "We are asking the court to enjoin the Department of Interior's (DOI) denial of the fireworks permit and order it to issue a permit for the event expeditiously."

The Argus Leader newspaper reported that Noem, who has been outspoken against President Joe Biden,  directed her office to file a lawsuit against the National Parks Service after the agency earlier this year rejected permits to hold the July fireworks display.

"I'm going to file a lawsuit against the administration to get the fireworks back," Noem said on Thursday.

Fox News said the National Parks Service had informed South Dakota of its decision to ban the fireworks display last month. The parks service had cited concerns about COVID-19 tribal objections and possible risks for the park.

NPS Regional Director Herbert Frost, in a letter to South Dakota's tourism office, noted "potential risks to the park itself and to the health and safety of employees and visitors associated with the fireworks demonstration."

He said they "continue to be a concern and are still being evaluated as a result of the 2020 event."

The 2020 event was the first to occur at Mt. Rushmore in a decade. It was attended by then-President Donald Trump.

Rep. Dusty Johnson, R-S.D., told Newsmax TV last month that Biden was "making a terrible decision" in not allowing a fireworks display at Mount Rushmore on the Fourth.

"President Biden is making a terrible decision here," Johnson told "National Report." "There isn't a lot that all of America agrees on these days, but you could get most of us behind the idea of blowing stuff up in the air before ... Mount Rushmore."

He added, "The president's team has said they don't want fireworks for two reasons. No. 1: [COVID-19]. No. 2: drought. I would tell you, it can get dry in the Black Hills but we don't know how much it's going to rain between now and July 4th, so that seems like a dodge on their part."

GOODBYE SUBURBIA: Joe Biden Targets ‘Exclusionary’ Neighborhoods Where White People Live

Last year during the 2020 election, President Donald Trump would frequently warn voters about Biden's plan for suburbia.

“Suburbia will be no longer as we know it,” President Donald Trump warned on the campaign trail.

He told voters that Biden wanted to get rid of single-family zoning, laws which require that only typical suburbia homes may be built in residential areas, which he warned would bring “who knows into your suburbs, so your communities will be unsafe and your housing values will go down.”

Now, it seems, Joe Biden is proving him correct. In a White House issued ‘fact sheet’ for Biden’s radical infrastructure bill, he “calls on Congress to enact an innovative, new competitive grant program that awards flexible and attractive funding to jurisdictions that take concrete steps to eliminate such needless barriers to producing affordable housing.” Many believe this suggests Biden wants Section 8 Housing in suburbs nationwide, fundamentally changing the concept of suburbs.

Biden advocated for eliminating “exclusionary zoning” on the campaign trail last year, in the name of reducing racial inequity. Among other promises to institute and re-institute anti-suburban policies, Biden vowed he would “invest $300 million in Local Housing Policy Grants to give states and localities the technical assistance and planning support they need to eliminate exclusionary zoning policies and other local regulations.”

The move comes as something of a continuation of Obama-era policies. The 2015 Obama-era policy Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) essentially declared that majority-white suburbs were the product of discrimination and discriminatory practice and required suburbs to reevaluate their practices if they wanted money from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

It is plausible that this is simply a grab for political power. Suburbs are historically more Republican, while those who benefit the most from Section 8 Housing trend Democrat. Biden may be trying to cement his party’s power by permanently cementing democrat control in areas which are already trending blue.

The infrastructure bill is expected to stall in the Senate. However, there may actually be bipartisan support for Biden’s plan to socially engineer the suburbs: establishment Republican Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA), who voted to impeach President Trump, said that suburban zoning restrictions “sometimes do great harm by pricing low-income and minority families out of neighborhoods and reducing the support of affordable housing for such families.” He went on to declare that “we should not keep American families in dilapidated and segregated housing projects.”

Institutionalizing Critical Race Theory How Marxists in America expect to seize power completely.

This is Part 1 of a new 3-part series on the rapidly deteriorating situation in American schools with regard to the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT) as part of Ethnic Studies programs. The dangerous effects of CRT ideology already are apparent across U.S. institutions and must be countered immediately and resolutely if we are not to lose this Shining City on a Hill forever to a dark Marxist future.

A series of four articles hereherehere, and here, published at this site last year began to lay out the situation with a focus on the Santa Barbara Unified School District in California. This new series will update that focus, as the State of California continues to wrestle with the final form of an Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum. With the Biden Education Department signaling its intent to push Critical Race Theory on America’s schools, however, the issue is nationwide. In mid-April 2021, the Education Department released the text of a proposed new rule establishing priorities for the awarding of grants in American History and Civics Education programs to U.S. public schools.

Parents across the country are becoming increasingly alarmed at the pace with which the Biden administration and Department of Education are pursuing the framing of education across the board – in K-12 classes in everything from civics to basic reading, writing and math – in terms of racism. Many parents, stuck at home for the last year along with their children, are just beginning to realize what their kids are being indoctrinated with. It is identity-based Marxism in its purest form but adapted for the U.S. system to centralize race rather than economic class as the Alinskyite wedge issue maliciously designed to provoke division, hatred, and eventually, revolution.

This article will focus on the origins and ideological content of these ethnic studies curricula. Part 2 will provide an in-depth update on the status of the California state legislative mandates for its Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum as an example of what’s headed for classrooms elsewhere across the country. Part 3 will discuss how families, parents, and citizens are organizing to fight back against this revolutionary Marxist indoctrination in America’s classrooms.

Critical Race Theory and the CCP

Critical Race Theory is not new, although for many just becoming aware of its divisive and hateful racist influence, it may seem so. CRT in fact was formulated decades ago by Marxist intellectuals who realized that a Bolshevik-style communist revolution based on class – proletariat vs. the bourgeoisie – would not take in the American free-market capitalist system that offered opportunity to anyone willing to apply talent and hard work to achieve it. The pivot to race-based revolution began in the 1960s. As this author described in her October 8, 2020 essay at The Epoch Times, “Race, Revolution, and the Chinese Communist Party”, Black Panther and other black revolutionary leaders were readily co-opted by Mao Zedong, who was then dragging China through the murderous upheaval of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Black Panther Party leaders like Elaine Brown and Huey P. Newton and other militant revolutionaries such as Robert Williams visited Beijing repeatedly and developed close ideological and personal relationships with the CCP leadership, who helped stoke their anger and encourage their determination to “burn it all down” to achieve a communist revolution in America. The civil rights movement, however, and leaders like Martin Luther King, Jr., along with President Lydon Johnson’s Great Society programs, succeeded for a time in inspiring Americans to overcome the calls for revolution in the streets. But the Marxists weren’t about to give up that easily.

American Academia in the Communist Crosshairs

A return to the fundamentals of Antonio Gramsci’s “Long March Through the Institutions” followed. Key among those institutions was academia – and Critical Race Theory was the ideological vehicle. Former FBI agent W. Cleon Skousen had summarized the top institutional targets of the communists he’d heard testify as witnesses before Congressional Committees in the early 1950’s in Chapter 13 of his 1958 book, “The Naked Communist: Exposing Communism and Restoring Freedom ”. Entitled “The 45 Goals of Communism Today”, that chapter is well worth a review today, but with a special look at #17. Goal #17 states, “Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of the teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks”. Indoctrinating America’s youth was essential to corruption of the entire society. CRT was designed to do just that.

The development and popularization of language, memes, and narratives is central to political warfare. Terms like “diversity”, “equity”, “social justice”, and “systemic racism” began to appear in American society, first among leftist fringe elements in the universities, but then with increasing frequency across popular culture and social media. The meaning of these terms, however, was not as ordinary Americans might expect. Rather, these words were code language, used to mask the actual revolutionary Marxist objectives of the insurgency. Those objectives remain exactly as first laid out in “The Communist Manifesto” of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels in 1848: “abolition of private property”, “a heavy progressive or graduated income tax”, “centralization of credit in the hands of the state”, “centralization of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State”, and “free education for all children in public schools”. The means by which the destruction of our Constitutional Republic and free market capitalist system are to be achieved bear quoting as well:

The Communists disdain to conceal their views and aims. They openly declare that their ends can be attained only by the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions.

Obviously understanding that openly revealing their aims in the shocking language of Marxist texts too few Americans will ever read would give away the game, today’s communist revolutionaries instead insinuated their precepts first into upper-level academia (co-opted since the 1930s by Frankfurt School operatives), and then gradually throughout the lower levels of K-12 education. For those familiar with the “45 Goals of Communism Today”, the way this was done will be familiar. Teachers’ unions fell easily into their clutches; popular culture coarsened; religious faith was mocked; foundational principles of the Republic were demeaned and ridiculed; Founding Fathers were attacked as nothing more than slave-owning racists.

All of this was inserted into U.S. curricula long before the “1619 Project” ever found its way into the pages of the New York Times in 2019. From the schools, generations of graduates moved like metastasizing cancer into academia, industry, the media, and popular culture. Once a certain level of critical mass was achieved, particularly in the schools and media, the demonization of anyone who disagreed with the Marxist narrative ensued. “Diversity” no longer meant diversity of opinion and thought, but increasingly only skin color or other markers of identity politics. Dissent is ruthlessly stamped out despite the reality that the majority of Americans are not at all on board with the CRT agenda. Cowed by threats of exclusion, marginalization, and job loss, many retreat into silence.

Critical Race Theory Inside U.S. Institutions

But soon enough, even that was not enough. Drunk with the political power they were amassing across American institutions, the Marxist CRT bullies next forced their revolutionary ideology into compulsory training programs in government at every level as well as businesses everywhere. Americans who grew up in a tolerant, multicultural environment suddenly found themselves accused of complicity in “oppression”, “institutional racism”, and “white supremacy”. American society is being torn apart, deliberately, methodically, in textbook “Rules for Radicals” fashion. The May 2020 death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, MN was merely a spark to the tinder that had long been piled high. Street riots, led by Marxist-Leninist-Maoist Antifa and Black Lives Matter revolutionaries, mark our passage from decades of communist influence operations within our institutions to the dangerous next phase of violent societal collapse.

The objective remains chaos, the complete breakdown of law and order, out of which the Marxists expect the opportunity to seize power completely. We’re not there yet and don’t need to get there. But American citizen patriots need to mobilize, speak up, and act to defend our Constitutional system before it’s too late.

In Part 2 of this series, we’ll take a closer look at how CRT seeks to manipulate the emotions and shape the minds of students in California and across the nation.

NYC Father Moves Daughter to Florida to Escape Critical Race Theory Curriculum

He pulled his daughter out of the $43k a year Heschel School and said its 'woke' curriculum 'teaches children to feel bad about the color of their skin'

A New York father decided to pull his daughter out of a New York City private school because of the school’s woke race-based curriculum and move to Florida.

“Little children don’t need to feel bad about the color of their skin,” Harvey Goldman told Fox & Friends First on Monday. “That’s what they’re teaching them, to feel bad about who they are.”

“Schools are supposed to be teaching you confidence,” he added. Goldman also said that  most parents and even teachers are “scared to say something.”

According to Goldman, the Heschel School in Manhattan is “teaching these young children about having white privilege” and “the murder of George Floyd,” which he noted “wasn’t an established murder” at that point.

Yearly tuition at the school is reportedly $43,000.

Goldman found out about the inappropriate curriculum through a school newsletter.

“I heard about it because I read one of their newsletters that came out,” Goldman explained. “There was a little blurb about changing the curriculum and I questioned it.”

Goldman sent a letter to the school in September, in which he wrote, “First and foremost, neither I, nor my child, have ‘white privilege,’ nor do we need to apologize for it. Suggesting I do is insulting. Suggesting to my 9-year-old child she does is child abuse, not education.”

But the school didn’t care about Goldman’s concerns. “I reached out to the school and they basically told me, ‘Listen, we’re going to be teaching your children this and there is nothing you can do about it,’” Goldman explained.

Heschel administrators even suggested to him that he take his daughter out of the school. And so he did.

Goldman moved to Florida and enrolled his daughter in a public school—but not before making sure critical race theory wasn’t a part of the curriculum.

The Heschel school claims Goldman is misrepresenting the situation.

“We are a Jewish day school and very proud of our secular and religious curriculum, which Mr. Goldman is fundamentally misrepresenting,” the Heschel School said in a statement. “His family informed us last summer that they would likely relocate to Florida for financial reasons. We were surprised to read about his new explanation for the move and question his motives for making such statements at this time.”

Goldman had previously planned to move to Florida at the end of the school year but did write the letter expressing that he “was not happy” about the new curriculum.

According to the New York Post, Goldman had joined the “underground network of parents” in New York City and across the country who are “fighting what they believe is the undue focus on race by schools as part of the new ‘woke’ culture.”

The David Horowitz Freedom Center is exposing prestigious American campuses as the “Top Ten Most Racist Colleges and Universities” for enacting policies and programs that are allegedly “anti-racist” but which in reality promote racial discrimination and a return to Jim Crow.

A report and video on the Georgetown University, #4 on our list, follows below.

The full report on the Top Ten Most Racist Colleges and Universities may be read at https://toptenracistuniversities.org/.

#4: Georgetown University

In a racist misapplication of policies allegedly designed to protect students from racism, Georgetown University Law School has fired one professor and placed a second on administrative leave for comments expressing “angst” that African-American students tend to earn grades near the bottom of the grading scale.

Footage captured two colleagues, Georgetown Law professors Sandra Sellers and David Batson, commiserating on a Zoom call over their experiences grading students.

“You know what? I hate to say this, I end up having this angst every semester that a lot of my lower ones are Blacks,” Sellers commented to Batson. “Happens almost every semester and it's like ‘oh come on.’”

Sellers added, “I get some really good ones but there are also usually some that are just plain at the bottom, it drives me crazy... so I feel bad.”

The video shows Batson nodding his head, possibly indicating agreement, but remaining silent while listening to his colleague.

A video of the private conversation, which had followed the conclusion of an online class, was posted to an online database which was accessible to students. Once posted on social media, the video quickly went viral and sparked a petition by Georgetown’s Black Law Student Association which collected over 1,000 signatures demanding that professor Sellers be fired.

Astoundingly, instead of rebuking the students for seeking to suppress facts that affect them, Georgetown Law School Dean Bill Treanor immediately acquiesced to the mob and fired Sellers. For the apparent thought crime of possibly agreeing with Sellers, Professor Batson was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation and later resigned.

The irony of this case lies in the fact that Sellers’ comments were the exact opposite of racist. She expressed her dismay that when assigning grades meritocratically, her African-American students, on average, earned lower grades than those of other races. This is a statement of fact, not evidence of discrimination. And being a concerned and dedicated educator, Sellers felt “angst” about this racial disparity. Where is the racism in that?  Should she have artificially inflated the test scores of her African-American students in some misguided attempt at equity?  If she had taken this step, that would be evidence of actual racism.

But this logic entirely escaped Georgetown Law School Dean Treanor. “I am appalled that two members of our faculty engaged in a conversation that included reprehensible statements concerning the evaluation of Black students,” Treanor said in a statement. “I have further reviewed the incident and have now spoken to Professor Sellers and Professor Batson, giving each the opportunity to provide any additional context.”

Dean Treanor noted that Sellers had offered her resignation, but he did not accept even this conciliatory gesture, instead notifying her that he was “terminating her relationship with Georgetown Law effective immediately.”

Despite being summarily fired by the University, Sellers used the opportunity to issue an apology for her “insensitivity.”

“My comments were the inarticulate reflection of long soul searching. I must do better to understand and address these issues,” Sellers wrote in a resignation letter. “I am committed to doing this for myself and also looking for ways I can combat racism in the Georgetown community.”

As head of Georgetown University Law School, Dean Treanor speaks with the weight of the university behind him. His anti-intellectual and anti-educational decision to fire a professor for publicly voicing her concern about the poor performance of African-American students demonstrates contempt for academic freedom and racism toward those very students. Instead of investigating the reasons why African-American students are in fact performing poorly—and seeking to remedy them—he punished the messenger who sought to raise the issue. Furthermore, there is zero indication that other administrators within the Georgetown hierarchy attempted to challenge his decision.  Clearly, the entire university has been so thoroughly inculcated with critical race theory that even the professors, in this case, admitted their “guilt” and attempted to resign before they could be fired.

Dean Treanor has also announced that the incident will have larger implications for the university community, writing in a statement that he is planning to implement “a range of actions and changes” to address “the many structural issues of racism reflected in this painful incident, including explicit and implicit bias, bystander responsibility, and the need for more comprehensive anti-bias training.” Instead of ensuring that all students at Georgetown Law receive an excellent legal education, Dean Treanor is more concerned that they be indoctrinated with the racist precepts of critical race theory.

For its decision to summarily fire one professor and discipline another because they dared to discuss and lament the poor academic performance of African-American students—an anti-racist sentiment— Georgetown deserves its place among America’s most racist colleges and universities.

A Terrifying Woke Witch Hunt Against Local Businesses

WITCH HUNT: Mass. Locals Organized to Force Businesses to Embrace BLM

BY TYLER O'NEIL

Woke capitalism may be the least of your concerns. In the small town of Sturbridge, Mass., a group of 200 left-leaning citizens organized on Facebook to compile a list of businesses to avoid due to insufficient wokeness. The group even planned to present every local business with a pro-Black Lives Matter statement to sign — or face a local boycott. When a conservative blogger called the group out on this witch hunt, the group’s leader claimed she had deleted the list.

“Are we keeping a list somewhere of businesses folks may want to look through and possibly decide to avoid supporting (for reasons directly or indirectly related to this page)? If so, I was made aware of one yesterday on the Sturbridge MA Community page and wouldn’t mind adding it,” a local woman asked in the “Sturbridge against Racism” group, according to the blog Turtleboy Sports.

One of the group’s admins posted a list, explaining that “a local business working group that never took off” had intended to “use this to contact all businesses to ask where they stand” on Black Lives Matter. “Right now only the notes tab has what’s relevant.”

Sturbridge Witch Hunt

Turtleboy Sports published the entire document, which faulted many businesses for being insufficiently left-wing.

The document flagged Carrie and Company for being “pro-gun, homophobic/conservative extremist.” It flagged Hair Gallery Salon and Spa and Petrie Family Farm as “not progressive.” It warned that Jimmy D’s Ice Cream & Sandwich Shoppe “Made Facebook post in support of police,” as if any pro-police statement was inherently racist. It flagged Sturbridge Coffee House for supporting police in “events, march, signs.”

The document warned that Sturbridge Yankee Pedlar is “owned by a Trump supporter.” It flagged The Thrift Gypsy because the business “uses a racial slur in their name!” Perhaps most egregiously, the document flags the Federated Church of Sturbridge and Fiskdale — a church, not a business — for having “complained about a Pride flag at the library.”

The admin at the Sturbridge against Racism group lamented that the list had been leaked without permission. She then went on to claim that the witch hunt against insufficiently woke local businesses “is not a high priority issue” when “Black children are being murdered by police,” a reference to the police shooting of 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant, a black girl who appears to have been attacking people with a knife. While Black Lives Matter activists have seized on the situation as an abuse of force, authorities say the officer opened fire to save the life of Bryan’s intended victim.

Turtleboy Sports also shared a poll that dates back to June 2020 in which the Sturbridge against Racism administrator requests feedback on a pro-Black Lives Matter statement in order to lobby businesses and the town to support BLM.

The administrator appears to have shut the group down after failing to identify which member leaked the information. Turtleboy Sports released a list of the most noxious members of the group. Some of these people explicitly endorsed boycotting businesses owned by Trump supporters.

While this group of about 200 people in a town of 9,640 may not seem significant, this witch hunt is chilling. As large corporations increasingly take partisan stances on hot-button issues — most notably championing President Joe Biden’s absurd rhetoric against the Georgia election integrity law — leftists may also seek to bring grassroots pressure against local businesses that do not toe the far-Left’s line on various issues like Black Lives Matter.

Campaigns like this pit neighbor against neighbor and bring the divisive rancor of partisan politics to the core of everyday life. These witch hunts may drive Americans even further apart from one another and create a climate of fear at the local level.

The End of Basic Education: Biden Issues Universal Public School Critical Race Theory Order

BY KIMBERLY HERMANN

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational & research purposes:

The Biden Department of Education has quietly proposed a new rule prioritizing the use of federal tax dollars for K-12 schools that replace traditional education with “culturally responsive teaching and learning” – more commonly referred to as critical race theory. This is the most significant move by the federal government to redefine the nature of state-funded public schools in U.S. history.

Although the current effort to push public schools receiving federal funding to adopt a detailed indoctrination agenda may feel new and overwhelming for parents, the truth is that the Biden attempt is simply the last phase in a decades-long effort to control local schools and press the progressive agenda on our children. With the power of taxpayer-funded purse strings, the federal government sends a message to public schools that if they want financial aid they must “teach” critical race theory and prioritize its ideologically anti-American, anti-traditional agenda over traditional education.

Under Obama, public schools were thrust into the controversial world of Common Core, a series of federal mandates that included “awareness education” involving a progressive view of race, gender, and so-called “equity” (not to be confused with “equality”).

Under Biden, a far more aggressive level of federal control over our nation’s K-12 classrooms will replace history (and objective truth) with identity politics and a warped view of American civics and institutions. In many cases, teachers are told to hide the racially divisive curriculum from parents. In others, students are encouraged to report the words and views of their parents and caretakers as examples of institutional racism. The initial goal is the indoctrination of young minds, but the long view is to aggregate power behind an alien political worldview that fed the dehumanizing machines of the Soviet Union and communist China.

At its core, critical race theory is the false idea that the United States is a fundamentally racist country and that all of our nation’s institutions – the law, culture, business, economy, education – are designed to maintain white supremacy. Politicians and pundits market critical race theory as inclusive teaching, one that promotes understanding and tolerance. When the truth is exposed, they try to repackage it in a series of euphemisms, including anti-racism, equity, or culturally responsive teaching. But the “scholars,” like Ibram X. Kendi and the 1619 Project behind the related anti-racist rhetoric proposed in the rule – the true believers – admit the truth.

Critical race theory curriculum tells students that they fall into one of two categories – the oppressed or the oppressor – based solely on the color of their skin. It tells students that if they are white then they are privileged and racist, and makes them affirm this ideology through classroom discussion and assignments. Some school districts take it even a step further and physically segregate students based on their race for lessons, reducing them to nothing more than a set of racial stereotypes.

This is not healthy. It erases decades of progress. And it pits our children against each other, teaching them to hate one another. Parents must stay alert because this week’s proposed rule is just the beginning. Senate and House Democrats have already introduced bills, including the Civics Secures Democracy Act, which would require schools to promote critical race theory in exchange for more federal money.

The go-for-broke approach of the Biden administration to upend bulwarks of the American constitutional republic, from Supreme Court-packing to open borders to emptying the public treasury to ensuring federal control of elections, reveals the true agenda: the consolidation of power. And nowhere can this be seen more clearly than in its drive to replace history, reading, and writing with noxious doctrine designed to replace both parental control and constitutional rule of law.

George Floyd Autonomous Zone Issues ‘Rules For White People’

Area begins to resemble a religious cult encampment.

The ‘George Floyd Autonomous Zone’ in Minneapolis has issued a list of ‘rules for white people’ that they have to abide by in order to enter the area.

The zone has popped up around the area that Floyd died and has come to resemble something akin to a religious cult encampment.

Apparently, baptisms, miracles and other spiritual events can be witnessed on a regular basis.

However, entering the area as a white person comes with potential risks if you make the mistake of behaving in a “problematic” manner.

All visitors are asked to wear face masks and act with “humility,” but a lengthier list of rules for white people explains how they will be treated differently.

Whites are asked to “decenter yourself,” which is a euphemism for a mandate to behave like second-class citizens and keep quiet.

“Be mindful of whether your volume, pace and movements are supporting or undermining your efforts to decenter yourself,” states the advisory.

The patronizing tone continues with a demand to “contribute to the energy of the space, rather than drain it.”

The rules also state that white people should seriously consider whether taking photos is appropriate and to seek consent from anyone they photograph, despite the whole area being public.

The rules also encourage whites to intervene if they “witness white folks doing problematic things,” which presumably includes doing anything other than engaging in slavish worship for the 21st-century deity that is George Floyd.

Black Lives Matter groups routinely issue demands of white people for their events, some of which enforce outright segregation.

As we highlighted last week, a group of Black Lives Matter protesters in Minneapolis were caught on camera telling a white liberal ally, “You’re white! You don’t belong!” before demanding that he leave the area.

Following the conviction of Derek Chauvin, BLM mobs also descended on diners in New York while telling white restaurant owners to “get the f**k out” of the city.”

Negy’s Challenge: Academic Cancellation and the Freedom to Fight

BY ADAM ELLWANGER

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational & research purposes:

The cancellation of tenured psychology professor Charles Negy cleared a major hurdle last week, when the University of Central Florida fired him, making good on the promise they made in a Notice of Intent to Terminate that was provided on January 13. Although he had long been a controversial figure among UCF’s faculty, the push to end his academic career began in earnest last summer as the riots and protests unfolded after the killing of George Floyd. Students seized on some provocative tweets that Negy made that touched on the topic of race, including one in which he claimed that “Black privilege is real.” Soon after, #UCFFireHim was trending on Twitter and university representatives were openly stating their intent to comply with the students’ demands.

Given that Negy’s activity on Twitter was clearly protected speech that could not justify the termination of a tenured professor, UCF took the astonishing step of actively soliciting complaints about Negy from past and present students. The university held off telling Negy that they had opened an investigation into his professional conduct for six weeks. In the meantime, the university president signaled the desired outcome of the investigation, telling students that “although everyone has a right to their personal beliefs, we cannot allow that to cross over into our classrooms or into our workplace if it hurts people.” The Chief Officer of Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity ensured that Negy’s protected speech was, in fact, causing hurt, when he said his comments were “not only wrong, but particularly painful.” The Provost promised students that school authorities “have the capacity to act,” but cautioned them that it might take some time to do so.

Although Negy and his attorney offered a pointed response to each of the grounds for termination that UCF had advanced in their Notice of Intent to Terminate, the school decided Negy’s time was up on January 29th, when he was informed he had been fired. As noted in the press release from the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE),

“UCF implemented a process calculated to find reasons to fire an employee who had offended people with [his] speech. That is why they solicited anonymous complaints; why they would not tell Negy which ones they would be interrogating him over; why they would pick administrators to make judgments about academic speech. Negy’s job was never going to survive this inquiry. That was the whole point. As [the administration] promised, the wheels were ‘in motion,’ and Negy would be ‘dealt with.’”

In perusing the school’s 244 page report on the matter (which was furnished to Negy only 7 days before his firing and long after he was interrogated regarding its contents), a casual observer will almost certainly find something to be offended by in Negy’s behavior. His sexual psychology course seems to have been peppered with gratuitous descriptions of normal and abnormal sexual behaviors. He had to have been fully aware that his frank (and sometimes inflammatory) discussions of race and identity might meet with outrage in the current political climate. Further, Negy has been deeply critical of religious belief, openly mocking it repeatedly in his courses, and suggesting that religious believers have weaker reasoning abilities. As a father who sends his children to a private Christian religious school, I tend to disagree with his classroom assertion that giving a child a religious upbringing is “a form of child abuse.” But there are important principles at stake in Negy’s case.

I first read about Negy’s situation in the summer of 2020, when I was seeking other professors to sign a letter that I had written which outlined forms of non-compliance that the signers would employ against the expanding encroachment of institutional wokeness on university teaching and scholarly research. To my pleasure, Negy asked me to add his name to my letter. Since then, we have periodically been in touch about the culture of the academy in general, and his ordeal in particular. When I heard of UCF’s intention to terminate his professorship, I asked him to fight it legally: the idea that offensive speech constitutes a kind of violence is rapidly gaining ground on American campuses, and it is being used as a means to purge academia of dissident thinkers. The ideological uniformity that this purge aims to establish is a threat to the very possibility of academic inquiry, which depends on viewpoint diversity to foster an intellectual environment that rigorously tests new ideas. Sadly, though, healthy academic inquiry takes a back seat to the political indoctrination that is now the de facto mission of the American university. This mission is hindered by the presence of dissenting thinkers, which clarifies the motives that drive the intellectual purge to which Negy fell victim.

Negy intends to take his fight to the courts, but he does not have the money needed to pay the legal fees, to say nothing of his basic living expenses (as he is now without a paycheck). I was pleased when he asked me to forward a link to a GoFundMe account he had created to raise money for his legal defense. I disseminated the link throughout the networks that spun off of my letter on campus culture. By Saturday afternoon, almost $2000 dollars had been raised in only a few short hours. Saturday night, I was throwing darts with friends when Negy emailed to tell me that GoFundMe had banned his campaign and refunded all of the money to the donors. Undeterred, Negy told me that if his legal defense requires him to sell a kidney, he is willing to do so.

GoFundMe’s ban is one more example of the ways that digital platforms are controlling the public sphere. Whether it is Google, Amazon, and Apple colluding to kill Parler after their enablers defended censorship by telling people to “build their own [social media] platforms,” or Twitter and Facebook barring the circulation of stories about the Biden family’s corruption in the lead-up to the 2020 election, or the RobinHood app disabling low-level trading of Gamestop stock as the hedge fund managers were getting burned, the evidence is clear: any form of speech or public activity that hinders the sociopolitical itinerary of the elite will be squashed. This is true across our culture, whether the elites are on Wall Street, in Silicon Valley, or in the faculty lounge. While depriving Negy of the right to raise funds for his defense doesn’t rise to the level of these other abuses, it is telling that these methods of restricting dissident speech are operative at the micro-level as well as the macro one.

The administrators at GoFundMe pointed Negy to the “Prohibited Conduct” section of their terms of use. The seemingly relevant portions (numbers 8 and 9 on the list) list the following disqualifications:

8. User Content or reflecting behavior that we deem, in our sole discretion, to be an abuse of power or in support of hate, violence, harassment, bullying, discrimination, terrorism, or intolerance of any kind relating to race, ethnicity, national origin, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, serious disabilities or diseases;

9. for the legal defense of alleged crimes associated with hate, violence, harassment, bullying, discrimination, terrorism, or intolerance of any kind relating to race, ethnicity, national origin, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, serious disabilities or diseases, financial crimes or crimes of deception;

It is of note that GoFundMe disallows campaigns that seek to fund “legal defense of alleged crimes.” Not all crimes, mind you. Presumably, funds for mounting a legal defense against some criminal accusations could be raised on their platform. The only alleged crimes for which one cannot raise legal defense funds relate to the fetishized identity categories that define institutional wokeness: race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. Even so, Negy has not been accused of any criminal offenses. But even if he had been accused of crimes, GoFundMe’s policy is unfair because it presumes their users’ guilt. Why disallow fundraising to fight what may be fraudulent allegations? In my career as a professor, I have faced some fraudulent accusations myself.

If the content of UCF’s report on Negy is true (which he strongly disputes in his response to their Notice of Intent to Terminate), a hostile observer could argue that some of his comments rise to the level of “hate,” or “bullying,” or “harassment” of the kind referenced in GoFundMe’s terms of service. But when it comes to public institutions (such as a university), the meaning and definition of hate speech should be an open question for deliberation. Private platforms like GoFundMe undermine these conversations when they work to disable citizens’ power to organize or exercise opposition to ideologies that immediately elevate any accusation of hate speech or intolerance to the status of unquestionable truth.

In a recent article published at Minding the Campus, a pseudonymous writer explicates the stakes of these trends. The author’s use of a pseudonym underscores the inherent risks a scholar incurs merely by offering sober, rational criticism of progressive ideology. The article explains the punitive dynamic at work in higher education: “Those in power can very easily eliminate their opposition by labeling opposing viewpoints as ‘hate’; thus, legitimate expressions of dissident opinions become outlawed. That is not democratic and it is not freedom; it is a blueprint for totalitarianism.”

Negy’s firing must be seen for what it is: a test case by which public universities will learn whether dismissing a tenured professor for unpopular, protected speech (masked by 244 pages that rehearse an anonymous hodgepodge of unrelated accusations and unproven policy violations) can withstand legal scrutiny. If UCF escapes without consequences, it will be open season on tenured faculty with dissenting points of view on politics and culture: the “blueprint” referred to by the pseudonymous writer will be further unfurled.

This is why — despite his imperfections as a professor and human being — Negy must mount a legal challenge to his dismissal. In order to do this, he will need considerable financial support. UCF is betting he won’t get it. Let’s help Prof. Negy hold onto his kidney.

The outcome of his grievance is uncertain. What is certain, though, is that we will see increasingly brazen cancellations of politically-problematic faculty across the country if UCF is not held to account. As American campuses become increasingly beholden to grievance politics and woke ideology, the road to reclaiming higher education will necessarily pass through the courts. We’ll need all the help we can get.

The principal of the celebrity-loving private New York City school that charges $57,000 per year says he is 'disappointed' a math teacher penned an expose saying students are being indoctrinated by radical race theory that makes them ashamed to be white.

Paul Rossi, a math teacher at Grace Church High School in Manhattan's NoHo neighborhood, publicly blasted his employer in a blog post on Tuesday.

He accused the school of 'indoctrinating' students with 'anti-racism' ideology that he says induces shame in white students. Rossi also said the school wanted teachers to embrace anti-racism training and that they are required to 'treat students differently on the basis of race'.

Principal George P. Davison sent a letter to parents and staff in the wake of Rossi's scathing post saying he was 'disappointed' the math teacher had chosen to air his 'differences' in a public forum.

Davison failed to address any of the claims raised by Rossi.

The school, which has two campuses in lower Manhattan that caters for grade and high school students, is where a number of celebrities send their children.

The grade school campus, in particular, has a security guard dressed in a business suit patrolling the sidewalk every morning and afternoon as SUV after SUV rolls through to drop off or pick up students. Nannies are also often spotted crowding the sidewalk around pick-up time.

DailyMail.com observed at least three staff members outside the school on Thursday morning greeting grade school students as they arrived.

It is the same elite private school that was slammed last month after it emerged students were being banned from using the words mom and dad and Merry Christmas in a bid to make it a more 'inclusive' place.

George P. Davison, the head of the Grace Church High School in Manhattan, sent a letter to parents and staff saying he was 'disappointed' math teacher Paul Rossi had publicly blasted the private school in a blog post

In his letter to parents, Davison, who did not name Rossi, said that Grace had 'respect for the wide spectrum of political views that our faculty members hold' but it was their expectation that staff would find 'appropriate venues and times to raise concerns.

'As you may be aware, a member of the faculty wrote and posted an article that is critical of Grace and of our efforts to build a school where everyone feels they belong,' his letter said.

'The process of building a community is often challenging, and I am disappointed that this individual felt it necessary to air his differences in this way.

'We have always held the goal of fostering an environment that is safe and welcoming for all members of the community across a myriad of differences. This is a work in progress, and while we are not always as successful as we would hope, we know that it requires the constructive engagement of everyone in the community.'

A spokesman for the school insisted to DailyMail.com that Rossi would not be fired or disciplined in any way for going public with his criticisms.

The assurances come amid a wave of cancel culture in recent months.

Rossi had acknowledged in his blog post, which was published on former New York Times opinion writer Bari Weiss's Substack newsletter, that his public criticism of the private Episcopal school could cost him his job.

It is not yet clear if parents at the elite school have complained or demanded any action over Rossi's column.

Rossi, in his blog post, had accused the school of indoctrinating students with 'anti-racism' ideology that 'induces shame' in white students for being 'oppressors'.

He said he decided to come forward because he could no longer stay silent while 'witnessing the harmful impact' that anti-racism instruction has on children.

Rossi wrote: 'As a teacher, my first obligation is to my students. But right now, my school is asking me to embrace 'antiracism' training and pedagogy that I believe is deeply harmful to them and to any person who seeks to nurture the virtues of curiosity, empathy and understanding.'

Rossi said that he and other teachers at the school were being required to 'treat students differently on the basis of race.'

Rossi claimed that students at Grace High School 'are pressured to conform their opinions to those broadly associated with their race and gender and to minimize or dismiss individual experiences that don't match those assumptions'.

He said while white students are 'assigned' the 'morally compromised status of 'oppressor',' minority students are being 'cultivated' with the idea that they are 'oppressed' as well as 'resentful, morally superior, and dependent.'

'All of this is done in the name of 'equity,' but it is the opposite of fair,' according to Rossi.

'In reality, all of this reinforces the worst impulses we have as human beings: our tendency toward tribalism and sectarianism that a truly liberal education is meant to transcend.'

Rossi also alleged that the school has held 'whites-only' student and faculty meetings on Zoom and that 'such racially segregated sessions are now commonplace.'

Speaking of the meeting, Rossi said: 'It was a bait-and-switch 'self-care' seminar that labeled 'objectivity,' 'individualism,' 'fear of open conflict,' and even 'a right to comfort' as characteristics of white supremacy.'

It is the same elite private school that faced criticism last month after it emerged students were being banned from using the words mom and dad in a bid to make it a more 'inclusive' place

Rossi said that during the session, he 'questioned whether one must define oneself in terms of racial identity at all.'

'It seemed like my questions broke the ice,' he wrote. 'Students and even a few teachers offered a broad range of questions and observations.

'Many students said it was a more productive and substantive discussion than they expected.'

Rossi claims that after it was learned that he had challenged the prevailing orthodoxy, he was told by the head of the high school that he had 'caused harm' to students.

According to Rossi: 'I was reprimanded for 'acting like an independent agent of a set of principles or ideas or beliefs'.'

Rossi claims the school's 'director of studies' said that his remarks 'could even constitute harassment'.

He said that days after the Zoom meeting, his boss told all high school advisers to 'read a public reprimand of my conduct out loud to every student in the school.'

According to Rossi, the statement read: 'Events from last week compel us to underscore some aspects of our mission and share some thoughts about our community.

'At independent schools, with their history of predominantly white populations, racism colludes with other forms of bias (sexism, classism, ableism and so much more) to undermine our stated ideals, and we must work hard to undo this history.'

Rossi said that, as a result, he was now required to 'participate in restorative practices designed by the Office of Community Engagement' so as to 'heal my relationship with the students of color and other students in my class.'

Reaction online to Rossi's blog post was largely critical of the school.

The following is a 'mission statement' from Grace Church High School that spells out its commitment to 'antiracism, equity, and belonging.'

Grace Church School seeks to provide its students with an outstanding education and with the desire to use it to make the world a better place.

Every facet of our work is enhanced by the diversity and strength of our community.

We believe that equity and inclusion are not only hallmarks of a just society, but also virtues essential to sound learning.

And so, Grace seeks to recognize and honor the unique gifts of its students, families, faculty, and staff - and the cultures, beliefs, values, and experiences that have shaped them - striving always to cultivate mutual understanding, humility, respect, and kindness.

But inclusion is not enough and equity is an impossibility if we cannot name, acknowledge, and oppose the forces of racism and all forms of bias, hate, and fear that exist in our society and that seek to diminish so many in our midst.

Knowing this, we commit ourselves to the work of antiracism and to the cause of justice: that all students may find in Grace a home, may learn from Grace their precious worth, and may hear from Grace a call to serve the common good and the dignity of humanity.

It comes just one month after it was revealed the school had issued a 12-page glossary of terms they claim would make for a more inclusive environment.

The guide encouraged them to stop using the terms 'mom' and 'dad', to stop asking classmates where they may have gone on vacation and urges them not to wish anyone a 'Merry Christmas'  - or even a 'Happy Holidays'.

The Episcopal school also offers courses and after-school programs for its students that include single-gender groups, a Roots of Empathy program, and a course called 'Allying: Why? Who? and How?' which is offered to seniors.

The curriculum for that particular program, according to the City Journal, includes a photograph of a burning police car in a 'zine called 'Accomplices not Allies'.

The photograph is teamed with a declaration that 'the work of an accomplice in anti-colonial struggle is to attack colonial structures & ideas'.

Grace Church school issued its 'inclusion glossary' for 2021 which it claims will 'remove harmful assumptions from the way we interact with each other'.

'While we recognize hateful language that promotes racism, misogyny, homophobia, and other forms of discrimination are already addressed in our school handbooks, we also recognize that we can do more than ban hateful language; we can use language to create welcoming and inclusive spaces,' it states.

The guide also warns readers to 'be aware that people may not always welcome questions, and they are not obligated to respond'.

Among the topics covered in the guide is the language surrounding gender, families, sexual orientation, race and ethnicity, religion, disability, and socioeconomics.

Under gender, it urges for 'boys and girls', 'guys', 'ladies and gentlemen' to be abandoned in favor of the likes of 'people', 'folks', 'friends', 'readers', or even 'mathematicians'.

It even encourages for those terms to be changed when reading books, using child, person, or character instead of 'the boy/girl on this page'.

And pet names are out of the question, with 'sweetheart' and 'honey' to be replaced only with the child's name or a description of what the child is wearing if that is not known.

'Mom', 'Dad' or 'parents' are also outlawed for 'grown-ups, folks, family or guardian'.

Nanny and babysitter must also be changed to caregiver or guardian.

If you can call him “good,” he’s one of those good men Edmund Burke said were responsible for the “triumph of evil.”

Meet George Davison, headmaster of New York City’s pseudo-elite Grace Church School. Though his institution indoctrinates children with the latest academic swill — Critical Race Theory — Davison is privately opposed to it.

We know because he admitted as much on leaked audio, confessing, “We’re demonizing white people for being born” (and all for a paltry $57,000 yearly tuition for students from kindergarten through grade 12).

The Daily Mail summarizes the story:

  • Leaked audio captures headmaster of elite NYC school AGREEING with teacher who was banned from classroom for speaking out about white-shaming students
  • Math teacher Paul Rossi, who was pulled from his classes at Grace Church School (GCS) after criticizing the school’s anti-racism policies, released [the] audio Tuesday
  • Headmaster George Davison acknowledges that white kids are being demonized in a taped telephone conversation
  • Math teacher Paul Rossi claimed Grace Church School was indoctrinating pupils
  • He said he could not stay silent “witnessing the harmful impact” of the lessons
  • He has now been “relieved of his teaching duties”, the school confirmed Monday
  • Shortly after rel[ea]sing the video Rossi told DailyMail.com that several people at the school have offered him words of support but he doesn’t blame them for not speaking out
  •  “People have a duty to the truth and they also have a duty to their families, and everyone must weigh those priorities for themselves”

For those unacquainted with Critical Race Theory (CRT), journalist Christopher Rufo provided a good summary of what it is in practice. At a March 30, 2021 Hillsdale College lecture, he explained:

Last year, I authored a series of reports focused on critical race theory in the federal government. The FBI was holding workshops on intersectionality theory. The Department of Homeland Security was telling white employees they were committing “microinequities” and had been “socialized into oppressor roles.” The Treasury Department held a training session telling staff members that “virtually all white people contribute to racism” and that they must convert “everyone in the federal government” to the ideology of “antiracism.” And the Sandia National Laboratories, which designs America’s nuclear arsenal, sent white male executives to a three-day reeducation camp, where they were told that “white male culture” was analogous to the “KKK,” “white supremacists,” and “mass killings.” The executives were then forced to renounce their “white male privilege” and write letters of apology to fictitious women and people of color.

Unfortunately, CRT has been embraced by our “changeist,” unintellectual pseudo-elite and has propagated throughout our system like a computer virus, infecting institutions great and small. Rossi related in part how it was affecting GCS in his leaked audio, which he’d released to Twitter.

“Let me ask you something, George, because I think there’s something very different about having a single experience where you make sense of it, right, and having a teacher, an authority figure, talk to you endlessly, every year, telling you, that because you have whiteness you are associated with evils, all these different evils,” the fired teacher told Headmaster Davison in their recorded conversation, which occurred March 2.

The Mail then related what followed:

“These are moral evils, it’s not the same as taking a physical thing, because it doesn’t affect your moral value. That’s the problem” [said Rossi].

Davison replies, “The fact is that I’m agreeing with you that there has been a demonization that we need to get our hands around, in the way in which people are doing this understanding.”

“So you agree that we’re demonizing kids,” Rossi states.

“We’re demonizing ki,” Davison says before cutting himself off. Then he adds, “We’re demonizing white people, for being born.”

“And are some of our students white people?” Rossi asks.

“Yes,” the head of school replies.

“Okay, so we’re demonizing white kids,” Rossi says. “Why don’t you just say it?”

Davison replies, “We are using language that makes them feel less than, for nothing that they are personally responsible for.”

(Audio below. Relevant portion begins at 5:00.)

This isn’t the only bad press GCS has gotten recently. Just last month the school was in the news for sending a guide “to students and parents that encourages them to alter their speech to conform to gender-neutral language, including pushing students to stop referring to their parents as ‘mom’ and ‘dad,’” the description of the related video below tells us. “The guide, titled ‘Grace Inclusive Language Guide,’ actually excludes language in an effort to redefine terms according to progressive identity politics.”

Interestingly, GCS isn’t the only Manhattan K-12 propaganda mill to enter this week’s Politically Correct Hall of Shame. Below is a Tuesday video of Fox News host Tucker Carlson reading a letter from New York City parent Andrew Gutmann, who explained that he wouldn’t be re-enrolling his daughter in the all-girls Brearly School (tuition, reportedly $54,000 a year) because of its totalitarian nature and cultish race obsession.

While it’s easy beating up on these wholly overrated institutions, remember that they’re just the iceberg’s tip. CRT is now most everywhere. But why?

Many analysts, falling into the very human trap of seeking simple ways to define the world, will offer simplistic explanations. But man’s nature is complex, and bad ideas don’t take root unless they offer something to a range of different groups.

There are those who actually believe in CRT. Many academics are in this camp; they’re useful idiots. There are those embracing it because they truly hate white people, and CRT provides an intellectual veneer for their wrath- and vindictiveness-motivated anti-white policies; they’re useful idiots, too. Then there are the mercenary types who realize they can cash in by exploiting the CRT fad; White Fragility author Robin DiAngelo may be a prime example.

Then there are the megalomaniacs who realize that CRT is a good divide-and-conquer strategy for attaining power. Kamala Harris, unprincipled to the core, seems thus inclined. Of course, making the picture more complicated still is that a given person can have multiple motivations (e.g., being hateful but also wanting money).

As for the race-oriented power angle, the aforementioned Rufo mentioned that American leftists at some point made a tactical shift. “Abandoning Marx’s economic dialectic of capitalists and workers,” he stated, “they substituted race for class and sought to create a revolutionary coalition of the dispossessed based on racial and ethnic categories.”

Remember that as Chinese general Sun Tzu pointed out, you attack where your opponent is weak. The United States is far richer than was 1917 Russia but also far more balkanized. This means that playing the class-warfare card won’t yield fruit here the way it did there (though it’s still used to an extent).

But the race-card can.

And does.

As a Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) radical said in the 1960s, “The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution” — to the power mongers. And the revolution continues apace as most Americans sleep.

Woke Anti-American Politics Comes to the Veterans Health Administration~EX-FBI AGENT GUILTY OF RESUME FRAUD?

75th Anniversary Celebration: Veterans Health Administration

Jessica Bonjorni is the chief officer of human capital at the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). In this role, Bonjorni manages divisions including about 1,000 employees with a budget of about $1.2 billion. The VHA is America’s largest integrated healthcare system, according to its website, serving nine million enrolled veterans each year.

According to a source who reached out to PJ Media, Bonjorni brought her woke, critical race theory politics to the VHA last summer via email communications and unrecorded “open forums” in which she slammed America and promoted the divisive doctrine.

It began in June 2020. As riots swept across the country in the wake of George Floyd’s death, Bonjorni — who heads a large department within the VHA — convened the first forum online on June 12, 2020. According to the source, the first and subsequent open forums became vehicles for Bonjorni to express her belief in critical race theory. Bonjorni also expressed her intention to make critical race theory part of her management at the VHA.

Bonjorni is a graduate of Smith College, which has become infamous for imposing critical race theory — which reduces the complexity of life and personhood to boxes and categories of “oppressor” and “oppressed” — on its students and staff. Where it is practiced, critical race theory brings division and anger, not reconciliation or unity.

Critical race theory also teaches that America was founded on racism and slavery and is irredeemably racist. If that is the case, why should anyone ever defend it? Why honor veterans or give us any benefits? I pose these questions because Bonjorni manages a key department in a large federal agency that exists to serve veterans, including myself.

Bonjorni’s first salvo on race came just days after Floyd’s death, on June 5, 2020.

Six days later, Bonjorni injects “social justice” into the discussion.

veterans

That’s a day ahead of the first “open forum” and set the tone.

The open forums were unrecorded. PJ Media’s source says Bonjorni used them to promote critical race theory and made inflammatory statements in them, such as that America’s founding was racist, and she could not even understand why anyone would disagree with that.

After the first couple of forums, during which one staff member reportedly called another a “racist” and called for that person’s firing — with no pushback or evidence sought to justify such incendiary, possibly life-destroying claims — Bonjorni sent out another missive to VHA human capital staff. This one suggests establishing a race-based star chamber within the VHA, under the name “internal diversity and inclusion council.” Bonjorni cites CRT proponent Ibram X. Kendi and introduces terms such as “microaggression” into the discussion. Bonjorni introduces and apparently tolerates no balanced evidence or opinion.

veterans

After months of riots and exposure of critical race theory as a Marxist doctrine, President Trump banned its use in the federal workplace and among federal contractors. Even French President Emanuel Macron rejected the woke doctrine, leading other leaders in Europe and Canada to do the same. Chinese activists in the U.S. lambaste critical race theory as a “fraud.”

Bonjorni went quiet after Trump’s ban, sending out no more emails and hosting no more of the “open forums.”

That all changed on January 20, 2021 — the day Joe Biden was inaugurated.

That day, Bonjorni happily announced that the politicization of the Veterans Health Administration — along with the rest of the federal government — would resume.

veterans

Bonjorni’s quote of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is deeply ironic. King called for everyone to be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. Critical race theory rejects that, and judges people purely by skin color and to a lesser extent class, rendering their character, intentions, and actions meaningless.

EXCLUSIVE: Is the Woke Head of 'Human Capital' at the Veterans Health Administration Guilty of Résumé Fraud?

BY BRYAN PRESTON

In Part 1 of our report on woke, anti-American politics at the Veterans Health Administration we met Jessica Bonjorni. Bonjorni is the woke chief officer of “human capital” at the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and a strong critical race theory proponent.

On Wednesday, April 21, according to an email she sent to VHA staff, Bonjorni is scheduled to testify before a U.S. House committee on numerous issues, including VA background checks.

veterans

Prior to her current position, from 2018 Bonjorni was the acting assistant deputy undersecretary for health for workforce services at the VHA, according to this online resume. Such positions “involve all aspects of human resources, including hiring, workforce management, leadership development, training and organizational development,” according to this VA piece.

Prior to moving over to the VHA, Bonjorni worked at the Federal Bureau of Investigations in its human capital division. According to the online resume linked above, Bonjorni has her MBA from Harvard (2006) and a degree in astrophysics from Smith College (2000).

Smith College, located in Northampton, Mass., has been in the headlines recently. Smith graduate Jody Shaw resigned her staff position at the college due to what she described as a pervasive toxic work environment due to its emphasis on race and critical race theory. In her letter to the dean explaining her resignation, Shaw wrote:

Every day, I watch my colleagues manage student conflict through the lens of race, projecting rigid assumptions and stereotypes on students, thereby reducing them to the color of their skin. I am asked to do the same, as well as to support a curriculum for students that teaches them to project those same stereotypes and assumptions onto themselves and others. I believe such a curriculum is dehumanizing, prevents authentic connection, and undermines the moral agency of young people who are just beginning to find their way in the world.

Bonjorni is a graduate of the same Smith College, albeit 21 years ago. Her entire federal career is in the human resources or human capital space, which as noted above deals with personnel management decisions including hiring and the criteria and standards by which hires are made and employees are terminated. Bonjorni wields enormous authority and influence within the Veterans Health Administration.

There appears to be a discrepancy over the degree Bonjorni claims to have earned from Smith College versus the one she actually holds.

Résumé fraud is defined here and includes:

  • Listing a degree or certification that was never attained. Sometimes this can be a complete fabrication. Other times it may be that the individual was indeed enrolled in such a program but simply never finished. Or it could be as simple as lying about how well the person performed in the program, such as claiming a high GPA when that was not what was earned.

Bonjorni’s online résumé states that she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in astrophysics, earned in 2000, at Smith College. According to a whistleblower case that has been filed with the Veterans Affairs Office of Whistleblower Protections in February of 2021 concerning this and other aspects of Bonjorni’s leadership, Smith College did not offer an astrophysics degree in 2000 and still does not. Smith offered a degree in astronomy in that time frame but did not begin offering even a minor in astrophysics until 2003. Note the last line in this screenshot of Bonjorni’s online bio.

VA

This record from Smith College of its year 2000 graduates and their majors corroborates the fact that the college did not offer an astrophysics major in that year. The record indicates one astronomy graduate in 2000, presumably Bonjorni. There were 11 physics graduates that same year.

VA

The distinction between a degree in astronomy versus astrophysics may seem subtle; the latter is generally a subcategory or specialty of the former. But the difference as a field of study is not as subtle as it may seem. Smith College does not offer a degree in astrophysics and it did not when Bonjorni graduated, in 2000.

Its course offerings in astronomy are noted here, as is the separate minor in astrophysics, which was first offered three years after Bonjorni graduated. The astronomy major is light on mathematics, with just four courses across four years dedicated to it.

Since Smith does not offer a major in astrophysics, we can look to nearby Williams College, which does, to compare the two courses of study. According to Williams’ website describing its Astrophysics major:

An essential ingredient in such students’ undergraduate training is experience in physics and mathematics. Therefore, the major normally will begin in the first year a student is at Williams with Physics 131 or 141 or 151 and Math 140 in the fall continuing with Physics 142 and Math 150/151 in the spring. Students with very good backgrounds placing them out of Physics 142 may elect Physics 201 instead. Astronomy 111 could therefore be taken in the sophomore year, however exceptionally motivated students can consider taking it their first semester at Williams along with physics and math.

Astrophysics is math-heavy; astronomy is not. Universities break the two fields of study out along separate courseloads.

Smith’s astronomy degree does not require the same intense dedication to physics and mathematics as Williams’ astrophysics degree, or any other astrophysics degree requires. This is not to say that astronomy is somehow lesser; just that it’s not the same course and does not require the same devotion to mathematics that astrophysics requires.

Because Smith did not offer an astrophysics degree in 2000 (when Bonjorni graduated) and still does not, the claim on her résumé cannot be chalked up to simple error. Bonjorni makes the exact same, false, claim on her publically available LinkedIn profile.

Casting the net a bit wider, Smith College is a member of the Five College Consortium which includes UMass Amherst, Amherst College, Mount Holyoke College, and Hampshire College. Only one of the five, UMass, offers any type of astrophysics major (a combination astronomy/astrophysics program, which by its name differentiates between the two fields). The other four do not. Amherst College, for instance, breaks the two courses apart under its Department of Physics & Astronomy. It offers a course on astronomy and a course on physics, but not astrophysics.

This website lists all of the colleges in the United States that offer astrophysics degrees in 2021. Williams College, as noted above does offer an astrophysics program and does appear on this list. Smith College does not.

The fact that Bonjorni won an academic award for a paper she wrote in her field of study further emphasizes the point that claiming an astrophysics degree, when Smith College does not offer one, cannot be an error. Also keep in mind, Bonjorni is the head of human capital for the VHA and would understand the consequences for claiming to hold a degree that is different from the one a job applicant or staff member actually holds. Bonjorni has likely had the task of establishing and implementing standards and consequences for résumé padding and fraud. Optional Federal Form OF-306 indicates that any false statements made on the form may be grounds for not being hired for federal or federal contract employment, or for being fired after an employee is hired. Filling out the OF-306 is required of all federal and federal contract employees, according to ClearanceJobs.com. The Office of Personnel Management sheds additional light on when the OF-306 is filled out.

When she isn’t pushing woke critical race theory on her staff at the VHA, Bonjori engages in political protests, which is perfectly legal, if revealing of her politics, and isn’t shy about letting her hair down and posting about it on social media. The following images are from her Instagram feed and that of a friend.

Thunder From Down Under is an all-male review that bills itself as “Australia’s HOTTEST export” while promising “chiseled bodies” and “seductive dance routines.” Viewing the scantily-clad team is perfectly legal, but imagine if the male head of a vast federal human resources division was caught posting on social media bragging about attending a similar show featuring female performers.
