TURKEY: ERDOGAN URGES U.N. TO SET UP “INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY DAY AGAINST ISLAMOPHOBIA”, HITS LEGITIMIZING OF “HATE SPEECH”

Erdogan’s obvious agenda in urging the United Nations to establish an “International Solidarity Day Against Islamophobia” is to try to weaken and ultimately destroy the freedom of speech. This is clearly much more important to him than the atrocities that are being committed against the Uighur Muslim population in China. As far as he is concerned, insulting Muhammad is worse than actually killing Muslims.

Erdogan, who seeks to revive the Ottoman Empire, blamed “politicians who turn to populist rhetoric for the sake of votes” for this supposed increase in hate speech. “He warned against groups who, he said ‘legitimize hate speech by abusing the freedom of expression.'”

Before Erdogan made his absurd request, President Donald Trump and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro “urged the world to unite against ‘Christophobia,'” as an actual genocide of Christians is underway in Africa and the Middle East.

Islamist Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged the United Nations to establish “International Solidarity Day Against Islamophobia” during his speech at the General Assembly on Tuesday, claiming Muslims are the most vulnerable population to “racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, and hate speech.”

Erdogan did not mention the world’s largest systematic human rights atrocity against Muslims — the imprisoning of between 1 to 3 million Muslims in concentration camps in China — during his remarks. Prior to joining dictator Xi Jinping’s lucrative “Belt and Road Initiative,” a Chinese global infrastructure program, Erdogan had referred to the treatment of Muslims in China as “genocide,” but has not similarly condemned China for its abuses in a decade.

The absence of mention of the situation in Xinjiang, China’s westernmost province, was especially notable given that the Muslim population of Xinjiang is largely Turkic — Uyghurs, Kazakhs, and Kyrgyz people — and that Erdogan spoke immediately before Xi. Erdogan spoke after President Donald Trump and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who urged the world to unite against “Christophobia.”

Brazil traditionally opens the U.N. General Assembly followed by the host nation, America.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations. In addition to the hallmark anniversary, the General Assembly is functioning slightly differently this year due to travel restrictions and social distancing guidelines to contain the Chinese coronavirus. World leaders stayed in their home countries and addressed the chamber in New York virtually.

“Racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia and hate speech have reached an alarming level. In the course of the [Chinese coronavirus] pandemic, acts of violence against vulnerable people, especially migrants and asylum-seekers, accelerated while xenophobia and racism increased,” Erdogan claimed. “Muslims are the most exposed to these dangerous tendencies fueled by prejudice and ignorance.”

Erdogan, himself an Islamist populist politician, blamed “politicians who turn to populist rhetoric for the sake of votes” for this alleged rise in hate speech. He warned against groups who, he said “legitimize hate speech by abusing the freedom of expression.”

Under Erdogan, the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) ranked Turkey the world’s number one jailer of journalists for three years in a row, 2016 to 2018. Xi’s China took the top spot from Turkey in 2019.

To fight this alleged racism and hate speech, Erdogan told the General Assembly that the United Nations should establish March 15 as the “International Solidarity Day Against Islamophobia.” March 15 is the anniversary of the 2019 mosque shootings in Christchurch, New Zealand.

“I reiterate my call for March 15, the day of the terrorist attack perpetrated in New Zealand against Muslims, to be declared by the United Nations as ‘International Solidarity Day Against Islamophobia,’” Erdogan said. “As the second largest international organization after the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation [OIC] has officially recognized this day.”…

Erdogan also had harsh words for the growing number of nations seeking peace with Israel. While he did not name them — the most recent nations to formalize diplomatic with Israel are Turkey’s neighbors Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) — Erdogan called any move in the region less than the establishment of a Palestinian state “vain, one-sided, and unjust.”…

In a damning speech to the United Nations Tuesday, President Trump blasted China for covering up the coronavirus outbreak and failing to prevent a global pandemic, adding that the World Health Organisation was complicit.

“As we pursue this bright future, we must hold accountable the nation which unleashed this plague onto the world: China,” Trump said.

“The Chinese government and the World Health Organization, which is virtually controlled by China, falsely declared that there was no evidence of human-to-human transmission,” the President added.

“Later they falsely said people without symptoms would not spread the disease,” Trump continued, adding that “The United Nations must hold China accountable for their actions.”

 

“We have waged a fierce battle against the invisible enemy — the China virus,” Trump asserted.

The President further attacked China more broadly, stating that “Those who attack America’s exceptional environmental record while ignoring China’s rampant pollution are not interested in the environment. They only want to punish America. And I will not stand for it.”

Turning to solutions, Trump promised to distribute a vaccine noting, “We will defeat the virus, and we will end the pandemic and enter a new era of prosperity, cooperation and peace.”

The President also criticised the UN, saying that it needs to concentrate on “the real problems of the world” including “terrorism, the oppression of women, forced labor, drug trafficking, human and sex trafficking, religious persecution, and the ethnic cleansing of religious minorities”.

China’s UN ambassador Zhang Jun later hit back at Trump, declaring “The world is at a crossroads. At this moment, the world needs more solidarity and cooperation, but not confrontation.”

President Xi Jinping, the Chinese leader, claimed that the country has “no intention to fight either a cold war or a hot one with any country”, adding that “Any attempt of politicizing the issue or stigmatization must be rejected.”

Xi advocated a global solution to the pandemic, via the WHO, proclaiming that “We will continue to narrow differences and resolve disputes with others through dialogue and negotiation. We will not seek to develop only ourselves or engage in zero sum game. Unilateralism is dead.”

Xi called for an embracing of globalism, declaring that “COVID-19 reminds us that we are living in an interconnected global village with a common stake.”

“Burying one’s head in the sand like an ostrich in the face of economic globalization, or trying to fight it with Don Quixote’s lance, goes against the trend of history. Let this be clear: the world will never return to isolation,” Xi urged in a blatant advocation of globalism.

The Chinese leader’s words are extremely rich, given that China deliberately seized global supply lines for medical supplies and disgustingly profited by not informing the rest of the globe of the extent of the spread of coronavirus back in January.

A US Foreign Affairs Committee report released this week concluded as much, noting that China covered up the coronavirus pandemic, and failed to follow international health guidelines which would have almost certainly prevented the global pandemic.

CONGRESSIONAL REPORT CONCLUDES CHINA COULD EASILY HAVE PREVENTED PANDEMIC

A new report from GOP members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee has concluded that China covered up the coronavirus pandemic, and failed to follow international health guidelines which would have likely prevented the global pandemic.

The report, which was released Monday, concludes that “It is highly likely the ongoing pandemic could have been prevented” had China been transparent after the outbreak began in Wuhan.

“It is beyond doubt that the [Chinese Communist Party] actively engaged in a cover-up designed to obfuscate data, hide relevant public health information, and suppress doctors and journalists who attempted to warn the world,” the report notes.

“Research shows the CCP could have reduced the number of cases in China by up to 95 percent had it fulfilled its obligations under international law and responded to the outbreak in a manner consistent with best practices.” it adds.

The 95% figure stems from Research out of the University of Southampton in the UK, which discovered “that if interventions in [China] could have been conducted one week, two weeks, or three weeks earlier, cases could have been reduced by 66 percent, 86 percent and 95 percent respectively – significantly limiting the geographical spread of the disease.”

Infowars reported on these findings back in March as the pandemic took hold.

The new Congressional report also highlights that “as early as mid-December [2019], and no later than December 27th, the CCP had enough information to assess it was legally obligated to inform the WHO that the outbreak in Wuhan was an event ‘that may constitute a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.’”

The report also concludes that the World Health Organization (WHO) was also complicit given that it “parroted” Chinese propaganda.

“The WHO has been complicit in the spread and normalization of CCP propaganda and disinformation,” the report states, adding “By repeating as truth statements that were misleading, if not lies, the WHO negatively impacted the global response.”

“From the early stages of the outbreak, the WHO, under Director-General Tedros [Adhanom Ghebreyesus]’ leadership, parroted and upheld as inviolable truth, statements from the CCP,” the report notes, adding “An examination of their public statements, including the praise heaped on the CCP’s handling of the pandemic, reveal a disturbing willingness to ignore science and alternative credible sources.”

As we have repeatedly highlighted, on January 14th, the WHO amplified Chinese government propaganda that there had been no “human to human transmission” of COVID-19, despite this having actually occurred back in November.

Indeed, not only did the WHO help China cover-up the severity of the outbreak, they also silenced medical experts who tried to tell countries to impose border controls back in January but were blocked from doing so.

In April, we reported that multiple sources indicated that coronavirus was leaked from a lab in Wuhan and that the World Health Organization was “complicit” in helping China to cover up the truth behind the outbreak.

The latest GOP report also concludes that when it became clear that the virus was spreading rapidly, China nationalized the production of relevant medical equipment, securing control over global supplies.

“According to the Congressional Research Service (CRS), [the] nationalized control of the medical supply chain included ‘commandeer[ing] medical manufacturing and logistics down to the factory level,’” the report states.

“It is highly likely that China’s nationalization of the manufacturing capacity of foreign companies, including 3M and General Motors, directly impacted the ability of the United States and other countries to procure [personal protective equipment] on the global market,” the report adds.

U.S. REIMPOSES UN SANCTIONS ON IRAN DESPITE EUROPE’S OPPOSITION

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has announced that the United States will reimpose United Nations sanctions on Iran after the sanctions had been lifted in 2015 by Barack Obama as part of a nuclear deal with Tehran.

This is the Obama-promised sanctions “snapback” that was part of the nuclear deal.

Before getting sanctions relief, Iran has to take significant, concrete steps like removing centrifuges and getting rid of its stockpile. If Iran violates the agreement over the next decade, all of the sanctions can snap back into place.  We won’t need the support of other members of the U.N. Security Council; America can trigger snapback on our own.

Iran removed centrifuges and replaced them with machines three times more efficient. They shipped off their stockpile of enriched uranium, only to have Russia start sending it back less than three years later.

And Obama lied about a sanctions “snapback.” Pompeo announced the sanctions are snapped back but the rest of the world is refusing to join us.

The Hill:

“The United States expects all UN Member States to fully comply with their obligations to implement these measures,” Pompeo said in a statement. “In addition to the arms embargo, this includes restrictions such as the ban on Iran engaging in enrichment and reprocessing-related activities, the prohibition on ballistic missile testing and development by Iran, and sanctions on the transfer of nuclear- and missile-related technologies to Iran, among others.”

There will be a price to pay for our allies who don’t join us in reimposing sanctions.

Pompeo said that if UN Member States don’t back the sanctions, the U.S. “is prepared to use our domestic authorities to impose consequences for those failures and ensure that Iran does not reap the benefits of UN-prohibited activity.”

“In the coming days, the United States will announce a range of additional measures to strengthen implementation of UN sanctions and hold violators accountable,” Pompeo added.

Following the lifting of sanctions in 2015, Iran signed billions of dollars in business deals with Europeans to increase trade and exploit natural resources. This is the major reason Europeans won’t back our sanctions play with Iran today.

The Iran deal was always more about giving the Europeans a way out of their commitments to back the U.S. if we decided to go to war with Iran over the ayatollahs’ nuclear program than it was about seriously trying to prevent Iran from getting the bomb. Obama got to say he made “history” and the Europeans breathed a sigh of relief and eagerly got in line to sign commercial deals with the Iranians. In retrospect, Iran was mildly inconvenienced in its quest for a bomb — an effort it has restarted in earnest.

Iranian Ambassador to the U.N. Majid Takht Ravanchi said the sanctions were “null and void.”

‘US’ illegal & false ‘deadline’ has come and gone.” Ravanchi wrote on Twitter, warning that the U.S. “swimming against int’l currents will only bring it more isolation.”

This drivel is transparent. CNBC referred to Soleimani as the “world’s No. 1 bad guy.” He was a potent jihad terror leader for the Iranian regime; nevertheless, blinded by hatred for Trump and for the very tenets of free societies, the UN condemns his killing.

“The killing of Iranian Gen. Qasem Soleimani doesn’t have the emotional power of the takedown of Osama bin Laden, but taking him out means much more in terms of saving current lives.”

Bin Laden was taken out by Obama, which makes all the difference.

The United States has failed to provide sufficient evidence of an ongoing or imminent attack against its interests to justify the strike on General Soleimani’s convoy as it left Baghdad airport, lamented U.N. special rapporteur Agnes Callamard….The attack violated the U.N. Charter, Callamard alleged in a report calling for accountability for targeted killings by armed drones and for greater regulation of the weapons.

It is high time that the US pull out of the UN, which has been hijacked by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Communist interests.

“The United States is the largest provider of financial contributions to the United Nations, providing 22 percent of the entire UN budget in 2020.” Via the UN, American taxpayers are indirectly funding jihadist and Marxist interests. Funding the worst enemies of democracy needs to stop, and other democratic nations should follow the US out of the UN. America under Trump has already shown its commitment to freedom in de-funding Pakistan and the UNRWA (U.N. Relief and Works Agency). A complete withdrawal from the UN is prudent.

The deadly January U.S. drone strike that eliminated Iran’s terror commander Qasem Soleimani and nine other people was a violation of international law, a U.N. human rights investigator claimed Monday.

The United States has failed to provide sufficient evidence of an ongoing or imminent attack against its interests to justify the strike on General Soleimani’s convoy as it left Baghdad airport, lamented U.N. special rapporteur Agnes Callamard a full six months after the event.

The attack violated the U.N. Charter, Callamard alleged in a report calling for accountability for targeted killings by armed drones and for greater regulation of the weapons.

“The world is at a critical time, and possible tipping point, when it comes to the use of drones. … The Security Council is missing in action; the international community, willingly or not, stands largely silent,” Callamard, an independent investigator, told Reuters.

Soleimani directed Iranian military operations abroad, including terror strikes in third party states. Just one week before his death, he is thought to have directed rocket attacks that killed an American civilian contractor in Iraq.

Last year, President Donald Trump designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds force as a terrorist organization and the action against Soleimani, as its leader, was a logical continuation of that definition.

Even so, Callamard expressed her disatisfaction that the U.S. could move against a man.

“Major General Soleimani was in charge of Iran military strategy, and actions, in Syria and Iraq. In recent years, the would-be destroyers of our Nation have attacked this notion; and, with the intentional or reckless unleashing of a pandemic on our Nation and on other nations by the amoral, irreligious, autocratic, and diabolical, Communist regime of Xi Jinping of China, the would-be destroyers of our Nation have renewed their assault on the Christian Church. They have done so with unusual feral ferocity.


Who are these would-be destroyers of our Constitution; these betrayers of our National heritage, of our natural rights and liberties; these sowers of ill will; these destructive, hateful forces who disingenuously, hypocritically, coldly, callously, calculatedly assert a need, an impulse to tear down the Christian framework of our Nation, ostensibly, as they say, or so they claim, to save it? We know them. They are all around us. They comprise an heterogeneous, amorphous conglomeration of malcontents both here and abroad who seek to remake the world in their own image: Marxists, Communists, Socialists, Anarchists, Neoliberal Billionaire Globalists, and others. They share the same belief system, the same value system: distrust of the common man; a strong, tenacious, insatiable desire to subjugate humanity; and a bias toward and a disturbing penchant for Atheism, Agnosticism, Satanism, and concomitant amorality, immorality, or pseudo-morality albeit disguised as seemingly benign secularism, moral relativism, and nontheistic humanism.


A Modern Civil War


America is in the midst of a Civil War. This war isn’t fought with guns or bombs, at least for the moment. But it’s war, nonetheless. We see this war waged in the attempt to control the mind, the thoughts of Americans. The despoilers of our Nation have sought to drive a wedge between Americans and their sacred rights and liberties. If successful, our Nation will cease to exist, for the sovereignty of the American people exists and thrives only in the unfettered exercise of their God-given rights and liberties. For only in the exercise of those rights and liberties may the power of Government be restrained and constrained.


These would-be annihilators of our Nation use calamity to drive a wedge between the citizenry and their fundamental rights and liberties. They are adept at seducing many Americans to surrender their rights and liberties for security. Recall Benjamin Franklin’s famous, oft reiterated, prescient quote: “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”


After the attack on the World Trade Center, the assassins of our Bill of Rights said Americans don’t require freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures because Government must protect Americans from terrorists; ergo, Americans came to lose their sovereignty through a slow, inexorable process toward creation of the Surveillance State, and the concomitant whittling away of the sacred right embodied in the Fourth Amendment.


After some lunatics went on a shooting binge, in the last couple of decades the assassins of our Bill of Rights said Americans ought not exercise their unalienable God-given right to keep and bear arms because Government must promote public safety and ensure public order; ergo, we see the rapid evolution toward restricting ownership and possession of firearms, and the concomitant whittling away of the sacred right embodied in the Second Amendment.


And now, with the Chinese Communist Coronavirus unleashed upon us, the assassins of our Bill of Rights have said Government must constrain the free exercise of religion, restrain the freedom of speech, preclude the right of the people to peaceably assemble, and to curtail the right of the people to petition the Government for a redress of grievances; ergo we see the rapid evolution toward controlling the thoughts and actions of the citizenry; the subjugation of the people, and the concomitant whittling away of the sacred rights embodied in the First Amendment.


State Governments Prepared To Use Force To Demand Church Closures


Ironically, it isn’t the Federal Government, but the Governors of a few States who seek to curtail the free exercise of religion.


With all the bluster of the Radical Left that calls President Trump an autocrat, the actions of Radical Left Governors make plain who the autocrats really are.


Radical Left New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo, Illinois Governor, J.B. Pritzker, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, California Governor, Gavin Newsom, and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer have closed churches claiming, as a rationale, the need to promote public health due to the Chinese Coronavirus.


Unsurprisingly, a website that calls itself, the “Friendly Atheist,” says, that State Governors can do this:




“ ‘Policies don’t violate religious freedom laws if they’re created in order to save people’s lives,’ said Michael Moreland, director of the Ellen H. McCullen Center for Law, Religion and Public Policy at Villanova University.” ‘So long as those restrictions are neutral and applicable to everybody, religious institutions have to abide by them,’ he said. . . . So, yes, governors can and should shut down church gatherings in the same way they’re shutting down public schools and restaurants. Treat them fairly. Treat them equally. There’s nothing illegal going on no matter how many pastors whine about religious discrimination.”




Let’s parse a couple of these comments. First, the “Friendly Atheist” draws a false dilemma, claiming that either Churches remain closed or people fall sick and die. That’s untrue. Churches are cognizant of the threat. They have been implementing proper protocols to preclude the spread of the Chinese Coronavirus. Second, the remark of the legal expert, Ellen McCullen is vague and ambiguous. She asserts, “So long as those restrictions are neutral and applicable to everybody, religious institutions have to abide by them.”


Is Ellen McCullen saying that, so long as State Governors force every religion to close its doors, not just Christian denominations, then Church closure orders are lawful? Or is McCullen saying that, as long as those restrictions apply to all political, social, and business organizations and establishments—truly, literally everyone, and every establishment, throughout a State, apart from hospitals, pharmacies, and food establishments—then Church closure orders are lawful? If the former statement is what McCullen means, then the Church closure actions are not “content-neutral,” and are therefore unconstitutional. If the latter statement is what McCullen means, then the Government ordered Church closure actions are likely still unconstitutional. Why? It comes down to what constitutes an “essential service,” terminology that State Governments themselves have concocted. No one would deny that severely ill people need the care of health care providers that, in many cases only hospitals can effectively provide. And no one can honestly deny that many people require prescription medicines to remain well. And no one can deny that everybody requires food sustenance to survive. What about Churches?


Is attendance at Church an essential service? Well, under both the test created by State Governors that like to draw distinction between essential and non-essential services, houses of worship do fall into the category of essential services, as spiritual need is arguably just as essential to well-being and survival as are food, medicine, and medical care. Moreover, the free exercise of religion isn’t a mere privilege, nor is it a minor right. It is a fundamental right. That right and the right of self-defense and personal autonomy are the most sacred of rights.


These State Governors are simply wrong. Churches must remain open in our free Republic.


Curiously, it is the U.S. President, not the State Governors who recognize the importance of our sacred rights and liberties. As just reported in the website, U.S. News, for one:




“President Donald Trump on Friday said he has deemed churches and other houses of worship ‘essential’ and called on governors to allow them to reopen this weekend despite the threat of the coronavirus.”


“ ‘Today I’m identifying houses of worship — churches, synagogues and mosques — as essential places that provide essential services,’ Trump said during a hastily arranged press conference Friday. He said if governors don’t abide by his request, he will ‘override’ them, though it’s unclear what authority he has to do so.”




Who is the autocrat? Who is the tyrant? It isn’t Donald Trump. The real autocrats and tyrants are those State Governors who usurp the sovereignty of the American people by daring to deny to them their fundamental right to worship the Divine Creator: the one Being who gave man free will, and who bestowed on man fundamental, unalienable, immutable rights.


There are those of us who adore the Divine Creator.


But for those who would deny the Divine Creator, there is no limit to their capacity for evil. They use a catastrophe as an excuse to destroy rights and liberties they never created yet have the effrontery to strike down. “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste:” Rahm’s Rule—the arrogant “first principle” of the deniers of the Divine Creator.
