As 45th President Donald Trump continues to dominate the Republican primary, liberal groups have explored invoking a section of the 14th Amendment to possibly bar Trump from running for office in certain states.

“It’s an absolutely insane theory,” said constitutional attorney Jesse Binnall.

They claim Section 3 of the 14th Amendment reads: “No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any state legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any state, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.”

“On January 6th, 2021, Donald Trump encouraged people to peacefully and patriotically make their voices heard,” Binnall told One America News. “That is not an insurrection. That is not giving aid or comfort to the enemy. You know what is giving aid and comfort to the enemy? Engaging in business with either our enemies or other corrupt countries such as Ukraine — what the Bidens have done.”

“So under this theory, Secretary of States shouldn’t remove Donald Trump from the ballot,” Binnall continued. “They should remove Joe Biden from the ballot, but nobody’s saying that.”

Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes addressed this possible issue in an interview with local outlets.

“Now, the Arizona Supreme Court said that because there’s no statutory process in federal law to enforce Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, you can’t enforce it,” Fontes said on “The Gaggle” podcast by The Arizona Republic and azcentral.com.

Binnall emphasized that even talking about this possibility is a slippery slope for both sides.

“It’s absolute insanity to start taking people off the ballot unilaterally,” Binnall said. “Just having bureaucrats pull people off the ballot, which is what these extreme left-wing people want to have happen.”

He claimed that no reading of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment would support removing Trump from the ballot in any state. He specifically highlighted the use of the word “officer” in the text to support Trump.

“If you want to be technical about it, a plain reading of the text of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, the president is not an officer of the United States,” Binnall explained. “The officers of the United States are people who are appointed by the president, not the president himself. They specifically provided four members of Congress, and they therefore excluded the president.”

Some left-wing groups are likely to bring lawsuits regarding this part of the Constitution as election season nears. It could trigger legal chaos that goes as high as the U.S. Supreme Court.

“They don’t want the people to choose the next president,” Binnall said.”

“We must, at the end of this, make sure that this never happens again,” Binnall continued. “And the way that we do that is accountability, criminal accountability, for the people that are doing this to our country.”

Biden isn’t about to let the 9/11 anniversary interfere with his foreign tour schedule.

Last week thousands of 9/11 families signed a letter asking Biden not to cut a deal with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed: the Al-Qaeda mastermind of the attacks and many others.

Biden predictably didn’t give a damn.

After all, he had already conspired to free most of the imprisoned Islamic terrorists from Gitmo. And he had managed to rob 9/11 families in court and transfer the money to the Taliban.

No one was going to welcome him in New York or Pennsylvania. So Biden will become the first president to skip the official memorials. Not even Obama sank so low and that is really saying something.

Former President Joe Biden will mark the 22nd anniversary of the Sept. 11th attacks with service members in Alaska – marking the first time a U.S. president will observe the solemn anniversary at a site other than New York, Virginia, or Pennsylvania.

The White House announced the unusual locale on Monday, on the same day it revealed the president was adding another country to his itinerary – adversary turned partner Vietnam.

Biden will stop in Alaska on the return from his trip to India for the G20 summit, which will be followed by a stop in Hanoi, in a visit likely to send a signal about countering the threat from China.

Biden isn’t about to let the anniversary of the attacks interfere with his foreign tour schedule (it certainly didn’t interfere with his surrender to the Taliban) so he’ll stop off at a base in Alaska where the personnel, unlike the 9/11 families, are barred from showing their true feelings for the double-dealing son of a bitch.

And, much like with the Afghanistan withdrawal, Biden is making a point by breaking with the tradition of the 9/11 memorials, signaling that a page is being turned. Once he contrives to close Gitmo, that will be another page turned. And another betrayal by the traitor-in-chief.

The Biden Administration announced on Tuesday that they will be sending another $250 million aid package to Ukraine containing additional weapons and ammunition support.

The weapons included are AIM-9M missiles for air defense, 155mm and 105mm artillery ammunition, over 3 million rounds of small arms ammunition, and munitions for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), according to the State Department.

“Russia started this war and could end it at any time by withdrawing its forces from Ukraine and stopping its brutal attacks,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement.

“Until it does, the United States and our allies and partners will stand united with Ukraine, for as long as it takes.”

The U.S. should have run out of funding for the year to provide additional aid to Ukraine, but it was discovered that the Pentagon allegedly overvalued the equipment they had sent prior, allowing an additional $6.2 billion in funding, defense officials claimed.  

The latest aid package will come from existing stockpiles, meaning it should arrive sooner than normal aid packages.

Congress has approved $113 billion so far in both military and humanitarian aid to the Eastern European nation since they were invaded by Russia in February 2022, according to the Department of Defense Office of the Inspector General. 

In July, the Defense Department also announced that the agency has sent $43 billion in aid to Ukraine since the war initally began.

Chicano activist and teacher Tim Hernández will represent northwest Denver in the state House of Representatives. Hernández was selected on Saturday by a 68-member vacancy committee to represent House District 4 through 2024. Hernández will complete the term of former Rep. Serena Gonzales-Gutierrez, who represented House District 4 since 2019 and resigned earlier this month to join the Denver City Council.

Just in case you have any lingering doubt about what the Democrats plan to inflict upon America, consider the case of Tim Hernández, whom Colorado party apparatchiks have just selected to fill a vacant state House seat in the Denver area. The charming Hernández is an open and proud Marxist, frequently rails against “Whiteness,” and has called for a “FORCEFUL Cultural Revolution.” He is also, of course, a schoolteacher, busy raising up new cadres of Bolsheviks to bring about the revolution he desires. Every Marxist revolution in history has been accompanied by appalling bloodlust; if Hernández ever gets what he wants, Coloradans can’t say they didn’t see it coming.Fox News reported Monday that Hernández was “selected as a state representative for the Denver area on Saturday by a committee of Democrats tasked with filling the vacant seat after its incumbent, Serena Gonzales-Gutierrez, was elected to the Denver City Council.” Before that, Comrade Hernández indoctrinated children under the unsuspecting noses of their parents, working at Aurora West Preparatory Academy in the Aurora Public Schools District. He kept this job despite hanging signs in his classroom reading “Black Lives Matter” and “Dismantle White systems.” Or maybe he kept the job because he was so flamboyantly and unapologetically leftist in a heavily leftist area.

Hernández made where he stood abundantly clear when he ranted at a protest about how to bring about the Marxist revolution that apparently everyone present wanted: “We like to compete who knows Marx better, who knows these things better, who’s a Leninist. Listen, all right, I’ll give you a real take on this s—t. Kids don’t care.” He meant that talking about Marxism was less important than acting to bring the revolution about:

Yes, it’s important to know theory. But you have to do some practices, you have to get out into the streets. You have to get into your workplace. You have to go to your families. If we are just sitting, talking in an ideological circle, our kids are still going to schools that are underfunded where they are investing more in their failure than in their success. Your [communist] theory will not save you. The revolution…will happen in the hood. It will not be led by who understand Lenin best, it will not be led by the deepest Marxists. The revolution will be led by the people….And I say all of this because I’m a teacher.

Yeah, that’s the scary part. Fox notes that he has “signaled that he was including lessons on communist theory in his classroom.” He recommends that children “be shown the movie ‘A Bug’s Life’ followed by a lesson on ‘proletariat revolution,’ meaning a social revolution in which the working class attempts to overthrow the bourgeoisie.” He boasted at one far-left rally: I tell my students the truth.”

Hernández has also taken to social media to call for a “FORCEFUL cultural revolution wherein we assert the dignity of life for all at the expense of White supremacy.” He added: I am absolutely advocating for a Cultural Revolution where we dismantle individual and systemic White supremacy. We’re talking about Whiteness and White supremacy. And I’m willing to advocate for any form of disruption to it and every manifestation it has.”

Every form of disruption. It doesn’t matter to a fanatical ideologue of this kind that there is actually no systemic white supremacy in the United States. It’s a useful myth to justify the call for revolution, just as the Russian communists wildly exaggerated how oppressive the czars were and then established a regime that was exponentially more authoritarian, inhumane, and violent than the worst czar ever dreamed of being. The worst part of this revolting story, however, is that this individual has not only been given a free hand to indoctrinate children but is apparently so comfortably within the Democrat Party’s current mainstream that he was chosen to fill a state House seat.

Tim Hernández in the Colorado State House is a veritable poster child for the maladies of our age. Communist regimes the world over have terrorized and murdered their own people and driven their economies off a cliff. There has never been one, ever, anywhere, that made life better for those who had the misfortune to have to endure it. The Colorado Democrats, if they had any modicum of good sense left, would have expelled Tim Hernández from the party, not given him a state House seat.

Now that they have done so, however, at least it’s all out in the open. You want Marxist revolution? You want to be a slave of the all-powerful, all-encompassing, rabidly violent, and conscienceless state? Register as a Democrat.

ATF Inspector Seizes Gun Store Records Without A Warrant

A Florida-based Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Industry Operations Inspector (IOI) seized a federal firearms licensee’s (FFL) completed ATF Form 4473s and bound book to take off-site to make copies violating federal law. The IOI would return the documents a week later.

Last week, Kiloton Tactical joined a coalition of FFLs led by Eric Blandford of the Iraqveteran8888 YouTube channel and vowed to sue the ATF over the Biden Administration’s zero-tolerance policy for FFLs. The lawsuit has now been filed with the illegal actions of the IOI front and center in the complaint.

According to 18 U.S.C. 923(g)(1)(A), FFLs must maintain records such as a bound book and copies of the ATF Form 4473, which Kiloton Tactical did maintain. During an inspection, an IOI is able to look over records for policy violations but does not have the authority to inspect the documents off-site. This action is expressly prohibited by 27 CFR § 478.23(cd).

The statute reads: “The inspections and examinations provided by this section do not authorize an ATF officer to seize any records or documents other than those records or documents constituting material evidence of a violation of law. If an ATF officer seizes such records or documents, copies shall be provided to the licensee within a reasonable time.”

At the time of the seizure, no wrongdoing was suspected. The IOI insisted he was within his legal rights to remove the documents from the store. The IOI’s deviation put him at odds with federal law.

The ATF’s IOI handbook doubles down on forbidding an IOI from removing records from a business. The ATF has been slow to release the IOI handbook to the public, and when they finally did, the document was heavily redacted. AmmoLand News acquired an unredacted copy of the guide from our sources inside the ATF. Every IOI is responsible for knowing the policies laid out in the handbook, but the ATF employee ignored page 10 of the handbook, which expressly prohibits IOIs from making any seizures.

Later in the same guide, the ATF states that all inspections should be done at the FFL’s location. There is no exception for carrying out an inspection of records off-site. The IOI in question violated the ATF’s own policies and violated federal law. To many, this is just another example of a lack of training for ATF employees. Others believe that ATF employees think they are above the law due to a culture of government overreach.

The Biden administration has empowered the ATF to shut down gun stores for small clerical errors. President Joe Biden claims the new zero-tolerance policy only affects “rogue gun dealers,” but in practice, many more small gun stores are being targeted. FFL revocations are up between 350% and 500%, rising to a 17-year high.

IOIs no longer have the discretion to determine whether a violation is willful. Instead of revocation being the last option, it is becoming the default action by the ATF over minor errors. The zero-tolerance policies have significantly impacted the firearms market, decreasing the number of gun stores across the country and ending the livelihood of not only the stores’ owners but also the employees of the businesses.

One organization that has sounded the alarm against the ATF overreach is Gun Owners of America (GOA). GOA has a lawsuit of its own in North Dakota against the zero-tolerance policy. GOA Senior Vice President Erich Pratt has pledged to help the FFL Coalition’s efforts in any way possible.

“The ATF is out of control, and both Congress and the Courts have an obligation to rein them in! GOA fully supports the FFL Coalition’s efforts to halt the weaponization of the ATF, and thus protect honest gun dealers around the country,” Pratt told AmmoLand News. “Left unchecked, Biden’s Zero Tolerance policy will cripple the gun industry and make it virtually impossible for law-abiding Americans to purchase firearms and exercise their rights.”

The actions of the IOI show the agency’s problems are systemic and highly politicized, leaving us with one solution: defund the ATF.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Joe Biden “allegedly” used a pseudonymous email account while serving as vice president. According to reports, Biden went by the names Robert L. Peters, Robin Ware, and JRB Ware and used the email address “Robert.L.Peters@pci.gov.”

On Monday, the National Archives and Records Administration acknowledged that it does indeed have as many as 5,400 of these emails, which Joe Biden reportedly used to forward government information and discuss business with his son, Hunter Biden. What kind of incriminating information is contained in these emails? Well, we may find out soon. According to a report from Just the News, a lawsuit is underway from the Southeastern Legal Foundation to compel the National Archives to release the emails.

The non-profit constitutional legal group that filed the lawsuit said the archives confirmed that Biden used the pseudonyms of Robin Ware, Robert L. Peters, and JRB Ware during his time in the Obama administration.

The archives’ admissions confirm years of reporting from Just the News about Biden’s use of a personal email as vice president and the pseudonym accounts he used.

The legal foundation first filed a Freedom of Information Act request to the archives for Biden’s emails in 2021 on behalf of Just the News editor-in-chief John Solomon.

The legal foundation renewed its initial request last year with a second FOIA request, but the archives “has failed to produce a single one of these emails,” the group said.

Monday’s lawsuit turns up the pressure on the archives to release the documents.

“All too often, public officials abuse their power by using it for their personal or political benefit. When they do, many seek to hide it,” Southeastern Legal Foundation general counsel Kimberly Hermann told Just the News. “The only way to preserve governmental integrity is for NARA to release Biden’s nearly 5,400 emails to SLF and thus the public. The American public deserves to know what is in them.”

The House Oversight Committee is also attempting to obtain the emails.

“Joe Biden has stated there was ‘an absolute wall’ between his family’s foreign business schemes and his duties as Vice President, but evidence reveals that access was wide open for his family’s influence peddling. We already have evidence of then-Vice President Biden speaking, dining, and having coffee with his son’s foreign business associates,” House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said in a statement. “We also know that Hunter Biden and his associates were informed of then-Vice President Biden’s official government duties in countries where they had a financial interest. The National Archives must provide these unredacted records to further our investigation into the Biden family’s corruption.”

A new AP-NORC poll confirms what most Americans already know: 77% of Americans think that Joe Biden is too old to be president, including a whopping 69% of Democrats. And even though Trump is only three years younger than Biden, far fewer Americans think he is too old to serve.

The poll places the issue of age front and center as we head into fall. While the election is still more than a year away, the age problem is something the Democratic Party is going to have to address. Should party elders put pressure on Biden to withdraw? Should other challengers like Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) enter the race to force a decision from Biden?

We’re now beyond idle gossiping and entertainment for the chattering classes. How much longer can the Democrats pretend that their incumbent nominee is fit to serve?

The United States is currently in the midst of engaging in a dangerous foreign adventure in Ukraine, facing an existential threat from China, recognizing a slow decline in our ability to dominate world affairs, and seeing the will to remain an economic superpower fade away.

All of these crises are reversible — but not by a feeble octogenarian whose addled mind can’t focus on any of these difficulties long enough to properly address them.

The poll asked voters to name “the first word that comes to mind when they think of each candidate.”

26% of all adults cited Biden’s age and 15% mentioned words associated with being slow and confused, while only 1% and 3% did so for Trump, respectively. For Trump, nearly a quarter mentioned words associated with corruption, crime, lying, or untrustworthiness, while only 8% mentioned those traits for Biden.

Democrats who continue to think that Biden isn’t damaged by the age issue play right into the hands of Republicans.

Pessimism over the current president’s age is consistent among both younger and older adults, with at least 7 in 10 of those both under 30 and over 60 years of age viewing Biden as too old to effectively serve another term.

Among Democrats though, younger people view Biden’s age as a larger issue. Seventy-seven percent of Democrats under age 45 think he is too old to serve a second term as president effectively compared to 62% of those over 45. And while 54% of Democrats age 45 and older want Biden to seek a second term, only 34% of those under 45 agree.

“The American people are telling us on polling we’re doing and discussions we’re having that they’ve lost confidence in the two major parties, and by large numbers, they don’t want to have to choose again between President Trump and President Biden,” said Joe Lieberman, the former Democratic Senator from New Jersey. Lieberman is founding chairman of the No Labels Party and says his party won’t play a “spoiler” in the 2024 election.

“Our plan is to only run if we think we have a chance to win realistically,” he said.

I don’t think this means that those who believe Biden is too old to serve would automatically vote for Trump. That’s why there is so much unhappiness and disgust among the voters with the choices before them. It’s why Vivek Ramaswamy and Robert Kennedy are getting serious looks from the voters.

Americans have never preferred a third-party candidate. But 2024 is shaping up to be the most unusual election since the 1876 contest between Republican Rutherford B. Hayes and Democrat Samuel J. Tilden. The election see-sawed back and forth until it was finally decided in the House of Representatives by one vote.

No one wants that sort of mess — especially since in this day and age, elections are going to be contested no matter how close they are.

In order to “provide protection” for Burisma CEO and founder Mykola Zlochevsky from criminal investigations, Hunter Biden was added to the board of the Ukrainian gas business, according to Ukrainian former prosecutor general Viktor Shokin.

“I have no doubt that there were illegal activities engaged in by Burisma,” Shokin told host Brian Kilmeade through a translator on Saturday night. “It continued to expand and Zlochevsky, who at the time held the post of minister … started bringing in people who could provide protection for him. Hunter Biden was among them and the corruption network expanded as a result,” he said.

Shokin’s allegations, if proven to be true, may fuel calls for the House to begin an impeachment investigation into the president as early as next month.

In 2016, during an inquiry into Burisma Holdings and Zlochevsky, Shokin maintained that he was forced out of office by former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, “at the insistence of then-Vice President Joe Biden.”

Shokin believed that Biden was delaying crucial funding for Ukraine in exchange for kickbacks to have him ousted.

“I do not want to deal in unproven facts, but my firm personal conviction is that, yes, this was the case. They were being bribed. And the fact that Joe Biden gave away $1 billion in U.S. money in exchange for my dismissal, my firing, isn’t that alone a case of corruption?” he said.

Shokin was forced to resign by Biden’s threat to withhold $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees, which he publicly credited for the move.

Beginning in April 2014, Hunter Biden worked for Burisma as a board member, earning up to $1 million annually.

“It was on a list of cases to merit special attention because Hunter Biden was involved with Burisma and of course, his father, the vice president. Biden at the time oversaw Ukraine affairs for the White House,” he continued.

Zlochevsky also alleged in 2016 that he was “coerced” into paying a $10 million bribe to the president and his son in return for Shokin’s dismissal, according to an FBI informant file that was made public last month.

Devon Archer, a 2014 board member and previous business associate of Hunter Biden, said before the House Oversight Committee this month that Burisma appointed Hunter on the board so that “people would be intimidated to mess with them… legally.”

Vadym Pozharskyi, a board adviser for Burisma, and Joe Biden met in Washington, D.C., in 2015 and spoke over the phone with Hunter when they were both present at a meeting in Dubai the same year, according to Archer.

According to Shokin, his office “would have found the facts about the corrupt activities that they were engaging in,” and as a result, he was sacked. “That included both Hunter Biden and Devon Archer and others.”

In an effort to remove Shokin, Joe Biden called the then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko five times in February and March 2016 and Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk once.

Judith’s brother called the police when she still hadn’t come out of the apartment after 15 minutes and didn’t answer his knock.

Fahim Z. apparently noticed that, so he knocked on a neighbor’s door and fled, covered in blood, over the balcony of the attic apartment. The police caught Z. anyway, not far from the crime scene.

Z. does not want to give any information about the course of events and his person, only says his defense attorney: “I am responsible for the death of Ms. Judith S.”

The confessed killer was provided with an Afghan translator, but he speaks and understands German well. He had introduced himself to the neighbors as French, and to Judith’s family as a foreign legionnaire.

Who is Fahim Z. really? This should be clarified in the further course of the negotiation by questioning acquaintances.

If I were a climate change fanatic, I wouldn’t stop at anything to cut carbon. This explains a lot about the Department of Energy’s proposed rules on energy efficiency for ceiling fans.

Yes, ceiling fans. The DOE announced the exciting news this past week that consumers would save between $28 and $39 over the life of a ceiling fan on energy costs.

Meanwhile, Republicans on the Small Business Committee are questioning the wisdom of rules that will save consumers pennies a year but very well might cost thousands of jobs as some small ceiling fan manufacturers are likely to go out of business. They sent a letter to Jennifer Granholm inquiring about the new regulations.

“It is important for agencies to examine small businesses interests—which make up 99.9 percent of all businesses in the United States—when passing any new rule. America’s small businesses deserve to have their voices heard and considered,” the lawmakers wrote.

Washington Examiner:

The lawmakers argued that the rule would require numerous small business fan manufacturers to redesign their products, potentially putting 10%-30% of these businesses out of business.

The letter lists out a series of questions to the DOE, requesting information on additional costs to businesses complying with the rule, alternative solutions to the proposed policy, impact calculations, and whether or not certain businesses will go out of business because of the rule.

The DOE’s rule, which was proposed in June but whose public comment period ended on Monday, would require ceiling fans to be more energy efficient, reasoning that the move could save households anywhere between $28 to $39 over the lifespan of a new fan. However, the estimated increased equipment costs are expected to be $86.6 million per year.

DOE defended the new regs in a statement to Fox Business on Friday, saying, “These proposed standards, which are required by Congress, wouldn’t take effect until 2028, would give Americans more energy efficient options to choose from, and would save hardworking taxpayers up to $369 million per year, while substantially reducing harmful air pollution — a crucial fact that some have conveniently failed to mention.”

There’s nothing “convenient” about trading a few cents savings per year per ceiling fan for the loss of thousands of jobs. That’s a “crucial fact” that the dullards at DOE “conveniently failed to mention.”

The DOE has proposed new standards for gas stoves, ovens, washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, dishwashers, and other household appliances in recent months in a maniacal effort to cut a few cents from our electric bills. Even combined, the savings amount to far less than other actions the government could take — like deregulating parts of the electric industry that are overburdened with rules. That action would save far more than the government’s single-minded desire to regulate every aspect of our lives.

And if saving the planet from climate change is that important, why isn’t the Biden administration doing more to force China to stop polluting the planet with massive amounts of CO2? Why not demand that China not build 300 coal-fired electricity-generating plants over the next couple of years?

Preventing China from building even a few dozen of those coal-powered electric plants would do far more to save the planet than all the new rules regarding home appliances the DOE has been trying to impose on us.

President Joe Biden said on Friday that he plans to request more funding from Congress in order to develop a new COVID vaccine.

“I signed off this morning on a proposal we have to present to the Congress a request for additional funding for a new vaccine that is necessary, that works,” Biden told reporters while vacationing in Lake Tahoe. “It will likely be recommended that everybody get it no matter whether they’ve gotten it before or not.”

The announcement comes after reports of a recent rise in COVID-19 cases in some regions of the country. Due to the recent reports of a rise in hospitalizations, mask mandates are also slowly being reintroduced by some organizations, such as LionsGate studios.

Updated versions of the vaccine which contain the newer version of the virus are already being developed by Pfizer, Novavx, and Moderna. Officials claim that due to the mutating nature of the virus, the vaccine needs to constantly be updated.

The supplemental funding that the Biden administration recently presented to Congress did not include any funding for COVID-19 vaccines. Instead, the request asked for around $40 billion for short-term “key priorities” such as more aid for Ukraine, federal disaster funds, climate change, and a minimal amount for border security.

In the fall of 2022, Biden had also asked for around $9 billion from Congress for funding for the virus, but the request was denied by Congress at the time.

The people of Maui have been through a disaster of biblical proportions as wildfires swept the area earlier this month, leaving a path of destruction so vast that it left hundreds of people dead, thousands missing, and even more without homes. To make matters worse, it appears that an incompetent government may have actually added to the misery they have experienced. Somehow, that always seems to be the case, doesn’t it?

Both PJ Media’s Lincoln Brown and The Blaze reported that left-wing politics may have played a part in setting Maui up to burn to ashes, along with the delayed distribution of water the area needed badly. Guys, this is going to make you absolutely livid, so, if you have high blood pressure, you might want to do a little deep breathing and meditation before continuing on because this is horrendous.

The reports state that Herman Andaya, the administrator of the Maui Emergency Management Agency — who has since stepped down from his post — did not trust the public to react in a civilized, orderly manner, so he opted to not sound the alarm as the wildfires began to decimate the city of Lahaina. It doesn’t matter how you might think people will react; sound the alarm. That was literally his main job. His failure to execute his job duties is responsible for some of the loss of life that occurred during this tragedy.

It actually gets worse from here. Other officials for the city had been warned for years now that Lahaina is a high risk for wildfires, but they did nothing to work on implementing some sort of system that would help prevent such a disaster, including a lack of practiced escape plans and no early evacuations.

The Blaze goes on to point out that a large portion of the survivors were individuals who ignored orders issued by the government and state authorities. One mother who put her trust in those authorities to help the citizens of Lahaina has learned the hard way that her belief in the rightness of the government’s orders was misplaced.

Here’s more from a CBS report:

Luz Vargas ran a cleaning service in Lahaina and was working the day her town was reduced to ash and ruin. Her adopted son, Keyiro Fuentes, who would have turned 15 on Sunday, was five miles away at home, enjoying the last day of his summer vacation.

CBS News reported that when Vargas and her husband, Andres, learned about the threat of the fires, they jumped in the car and desperately tried to race home to their son.

Vargas told the media that she was told not to go and responded by only uttering two words: “My son.” She was in a race against time to reach her boy but encountered severe gridlock. They decided to leave the vehicle and try to get there on foot. Unfortunately, they were stopped by yet another obstacle in the form of a police barricade.

National Public Radio reported that local law enforcement officers were preventing people from going back toward where the fires were raging.

“I told them my son is still in our house. I said he’s at this house on this street,” Vargas recounted in the conversation she had with CBS News, pointing out there was a language barrier making things even more difficult.

Vargas then revealed she managed to get by police, her flip-flops melting from the intensity of the heat, where a man on a motorcycle took her toward the fires where her son was located. However, when she attempted to enter the fire zone, she was stopped by first responders who told her they had already cleared the area and there was no one left, encouraging her to “have faith” that her son had escaped the blaze.

She and her husband, having been assured that the boy had escaped from the area, waited for him to show up at Honokowai Beach, regularly checking with authorities to see if he had arrived while also calling around the area. Two days later, Vargas made her way home, where she found out the area had, in fact, not been cleared, and one person remained.

Vargas found her son’s body in his bedroom, his arms wrapped around his dog. It just does not get more tragic than this. What’s to blame for her loss? Government ineptness. It’s infuriating.

“He was not as I expected, in ashes. God maintained him like this. So we knew it was him,” Vargas stated, revealing she prayed over her dead son’s body, “Please God, hold him for me.”

The child’s body was wrapped up in a blanket and carried half a mile to a police station. The victim’s brother, Josue, who also spoke with CBS News, said, “He was too young. If we still had time, I know he would have been a very, very, very good man.”

A report by the Associated Press revealed that the same barricades that slowed down Vargas also caused other residents of the area to actually lose their lives in the fires that tore their community apart.

West Maui residents attempting to flee the fires attempted to exit via the only paved road out of town, but authorities had reportedly set up a barricade, barring access to Highway 30. As a result, numerous cars were sent back into the flames, resulting in a number of people perishing in their vehicles.

Those who disregarded the barricade managed to survive, including one family who ignored the barricade and drove around it. Having ignored the instruction of authorities, the family ended up safe and secure in a nearby town 48 minutes later, reported the Associated Press.

Much of the loss of life could have been prevented had the alarm been sounded and proper precautions taken long before the wildfires broke out. Authorities knew it was a big risk for their town, yet they did nothing to ensure the safety of residents. There needs to be consequences for this level of incompetence.

Congratulations, everyone! It’s time for another COVID variant! Did you think having already been vaccinated and boosted was gonna get you through this one? Think again!

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported on Wednesday that the emerging BA.2.86 COVID-19 variant could potentially lead to infections in those who not only had COVID before but have previously been vaccinated.

“The large number of mutations in this variant raises concerns of greater escape from existing immunity from vaccines and previous infections compared with other recent variants,” the CDC stated in its risk assessment summary for this new lineage of COVID. “For example, one analysis of mutations suggests the difference may be as large as or greater than that between BA.2 and XBB.1.5, which circulated nearly a year apart.”

Are you scared yet? Well, maybe the CDC will just have to try harder.

Americans have largely gotten over COVID at this point, with only a select few still too paranoid to ditch the masks. I can’t remember the last time I saw someone wearing a mask in public. Even the Biden administration quietly admitted the pandemic was over back in April. At this point, most of the population has acquired COVID-19 antibodies. There’s a reason why deaths and hospitalizations are way, way, way down, and people have long resumed living life normally again and are looking back at the lockdowns and the months of masking with disgust. But with an eerie sense of déjà vu, it feels like we’re once again in the thick of the pandemic and being conditioned to believe something terrible is on the horizon and we have to do something about it.

And the CDC is on it!

“Based on what CDC knows now, existing tests used to detect and medications used to treat COVID-19 appear to be effective with this variant,” the CDC explains. However, there’s a rather interesting and significant caveat to this. According to the CDC, “Scientists are evaluating the effectiveness of the forthcoming, updated COVID-19 vaccine.”

And there it is! A new updated vaccine is in the works. If you thought life was back to normal because you got vaccinated and got boosted every month, you better put your tail back between your legs and sign up to get another updated version of the vaccine. Those Big Pharma profits won’t make themselves, after all.
