Who paid for the murders of 600 Israelis and the new jihad war against Israel? You did. I did. The Biden regime did, with American taxpayer dollars.

“Under the radar, US approves release of $75m aid to Palestine,” Middle East Monitor, October 6, 2023:

In a quiet move bypassing Republican obstructionism, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has approved the release of $75 million in crucial food assistance for Palestinians just hours before the funds were set to be redistributed elsewhere.

Blinken’s decision came after months of pressure from Democratic lawmakers and dozens of civil society groups, who warned that blocking the aid would create a humanitarian disaster for over one million Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank….

UNRWA thanked Blinken for the funds that will sustain its food distribution through early 2024. “Thank you [Blinken] for providing $75 million in food assistance to Palestine refugees in Gaza! This generous support from the American people will allow UNRWA to continue this critical aspect of its humanitarian and human development work through the end of Q1 2024,” said UNRWA….

Blinken’s approval of the funds came after US Ambassador to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, announced an additional $73 million in funding to support UNRWA’s core and emergency services….

It took little time for people to connect the dots between Joe Biden’s unfreezing of $6 billion in Iranian assets last month — part of a prisoner swap — and the Hamas attack on Israel. Hamas gets funding from Iran, and all the restrictions on how Iran can spend their money are meaningless. In fact, Hamas spokesman Ghazi Hamad told the BBC that Iran did give financial support to Hamas for its surprise attack on Israel, and a senior adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, confirmed this.

That hasn’t stopped the Biden administration from desperately trying to absolve itself of responsibility for the deadly attack, which has set off yet another war in the region.

“Let’s be clear,” State Department spokesman Matthew Miller wrote on X. “The deal to bring U.S. citizens home from Iran has nothing to do with the horrific attack on Israel. Not a penny has been spent, and when it is, it can only go for humanitarian needs like food and medicine. Anything to the contrary is false.”

Variations of this talking point have been repeated ad nauseam by various members of the Biden administration. One of them was Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who did the rounds on the Sunday morning talk shows to defend the Biden administration. He claimed on ABC’s “This Week” that “not a single dollar from that account has actually been spent to date, and in any event, it’s very carefully and closely regulated by the Treasury Department to make sure that it’s only used for food, for medicine, for medical equipment.”

Cute story, right? Well, that may be the line the administration is pushing, but when Blinken appeared on “Meet The Press,” he let slip some actual truth.

“What do you say about the argument that money is fungible — so Iran may have known this money was coming and used other funds to help fund this attack?” asked host Kristen Welker.

“Iran has unfortunately always used and focused its funds on supporting terrorism, on supporting groups like Hamas,” Blinken replied. “And it’s done that when there have been sanctions, it’s done that when there haven’t been sanctions, and it’s always prioritized that.”

That admission completely undermines the talking points that the Biden administration has been pushing. They unfroze $6 billion for Iran, and Iran funded the Hamas attack. It’s that simple. Per Blinken’s own words, the condition of the money only being used for humanitarian purposes is meaningless. Iran will always use money to fund terrorism.

Exclusively for our VIPs: Obama Is No Longer Hiding His Anti-Semitism

So if the Biden administration knows Iran funds terrorism, why did it unfreeze $6 billion as part of the prisoner exchange last month? There’s no good answer to that — or to the question of why the Obama administration and now the Biden administration are so intent on giving the Iranian regime a pathway to nuclear weapons.

The Biden Regime Should Admit the Real Causes of the Jihad Against Israel

Twenty-two years after 9/11, the jihadis’ best friends are in the White House.

[Make sure to read Robert Spencer’s contributions in Jamie Glazov’s new book: Barack Obama’s True Legacy: How He Transformed America.]

When Hamas launched its latest jihad war against Israel, the Biden regime’s initial response was mind-numbingly predictable. At 2:58 AM on Saturday, the U.S. Office of Palestinian Affairs tweeted in Arabic: “The US Embassy is closely monitoring the security situation as a result of rockets being fired from Gaza through southern and central Israel, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and the infiltration of Hamas activists.” Yeah, “activists” with balaclavas and rifles, committing murder wherever they had the chance.

As if that weren’t bad enough, the same Office followed up at 3:24 AM with an even more jaw-droppingly tone-deaf and wrongheaded statement: “We unequivocally condemn the attack of Hamas terrorists and the loss of life that has incurred.” Of course, the low-level Biden regime foreign service wonks who knocked together this boilerplate said nothing about bankrolling the attacks and making them possible. The wonks continued: “We urge all sides to refrain from violence and retaliatory attacks. Terror and violence solve nothing.”

In other words, Israel must not respond to the breaching of its borders and wholesale murder of its citizens. That would be a “retaliatory attack,” and would solve nothing. This statement was consistent with the stance of the Biden regime and American administrations going back years: after every jihad attack against Israel, no matter how brutal and bloodthirsty, the United States urges Israel to exercise the utmost restraint in defending itself, and not engage in a “disproportionate” response. The U.S. also would then urge Israel to make concessions to the Palestinian Arabs that would presumably pacify them.

This ignored the root causes of the conflict, which the U.S. government has been resolutely ignoring ever since jihadis with the same ideology as those who are fighting to destroy Israel struck our own country on September 11, 2001.

Media analysts are describing the latest attacks as a retaliation for Israel’s supposed desecration of the al-Aqsa Mosque, or for “settlement” activity, and all the usual half-truths, distortions and outright lies that characterize establishment media coverage of Israel. Ultimately, however, this is happening not because of al-Aqsa, or because of any “occupation,” since the “occupation” is propaganda fiction anyway. It’s happening because of the Islamic imperative to fight Jews.

A hadith says: “Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.” (Sahih Muslim 6985) Read the beginning of the words attributed to Muhammad again: “The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight the Jews and the Muslims would kill them.”

So this is not a hadith about the “last day.” It is a hadith about the conditions under which the “last day” will come about, and how Muslims can bring about the “last day”: by killing Jews. The true believers of Hamas are busy doing it now.

In light of that, the Islamic State (ISIS) explains that Muslims’ struggle against Israel is eschatological, not political, although it acknowledges that analysts have generally missed this: “Most people have disregarded the Quranic characterization of the Jews and its aim. They have instead concerned themselves with a historical narrative of events, thereby deviating from the roots of the conflict.” These mistaken analysts, says ISIS, think that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict arose over “lands and possessions.” It asks: “Is there any pretext left on which someone can claim that the war with the Jews is not religious?”

This idea didn’t originate with ISIS. Many Muslim clerics have been saying it for years. According to The Palestinian Delusion: The Catastrophic History of the Middle East Peace Process, Egyptian imam Muhammad Hussein Ya’qoub made the same point back in 2009 when he said: “If the Jews left Palestine to us, would we start loving them? Of course not. We will never love them. Absolutely not. The Jews are infidels—not because I say so, and not because they are killing Muslims, but because Allah said: ‘The Jews say that Uzair is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that Christ is the son of Allah. These are the words from their mouths. They imitate the sayings of the disbelievers before. May Allah fight them. How deluded they are.’ [Qur’an 9:30] It is Allah who said that they are infidels.”

Another Muslim cleric, Sheikh Said Al-Afani, contradicted the accepted wisdom in the West when he said: “Our hatred of them is purely on religious grounds, and not because of the pure, sacred land, which was blessed by Allah, or because of Gaza…not only because of Al-Aqsa and so on. We hate them, first and foremost, because of their enmity towards Allah, and because they slayed our prophets.”

Abdallah Jarbu, Hamas’ deputy minister of religious endowments, on Al-Aqsa TV on Feb. 28, 2010, condemned on Islamic grounds anyone who wants to negotiate with the Israelis: “I condemn whoever believes in normalizing relations with them, whoever supports sitting down with them, and whoever believes that they are human beings. They are not human beings. They are not people. They have no religion, no conscience, and no moral values.”

It is because of such views that Palestinian jihadis rape, torture, and murder Israeli civilians and then celebrate having done so. It is the resolute refusal of the Biden regime to acknowledge the Islamic aspect of the conflict that leads it to continue to prescribe the wrong solutions for that conflict, and to pressure Israel when it should be pressuring the Palestinians. Twenty-two years after 9/11, the jihadis’ best friends are in the White House.

The Patriarchs and Heads of the Churches in Jerusalem Issue Plea for Prayer, Peace, and an End to Violence Against Civilians

The winds of war are once again blowing across the home of the Prince of Peace. Many years ago, a priest friend advised me if you put off going to the Holy Land until there is a peaceful period with no trouble, you will never go. Historians may document a period of peace in the world around the time of the birth of Christ, but since then, there has almost always been a war somewhere — often in the very region of the world Christ called home.

While the protagonists of the Jewish and Islamic sides of this conflict argue, the survival of the Christian presence in the cradle of Christianity is often ignored. Wars have consequences. Some estimate that half of the Christians in Iraq and Syria have fled the region since the Second Gulf War and the Syrian civil war.

There are about 180,000 Christians in Israel. Seventy percent are Arabs or Palestinians, the largest group living in Jesus’s hometown of Nazareth.  As a small minority within a minority, Christians require peace and stability for their survival. This latest war will do little to enhance that.

The so-called “Status Quo” is the unwritten rule in Israel under which religious groups don’t rock the boat at holy sites under the protection of different religious groups. You may visit, but not hold religious services without an agreement. Even the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, which encompasses Calvary and the Tomb of Christ, is managed by a consortium. The key to the church is traditionally in the possession of a Muslim Arab family to avoid disputes among the Christians.

That peace has been unraveling lately at the nearby Temple Mount, also called the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is claimed by both Muslims and Jews and is just one front on a broad sectarian conflict that has now turned violent. To this end, the Patriarchs and Heads of the Churches of Jerusalem, have issued a joint call for peace and prayer:

The Holy Land, a place sacred to countless millions around the world, is currently mired in violence and suffering due to the prolonged political conflict and the lamentable absence of justice and respect for human rights. We, the Patriarchs and Heads of Churches in Jerusalem, have time and again appealed for the importance of respecting the historic and legal Status Quo of the holy shrines. In these trying times, we come together to raise our voices in unity, echoing the divine message of peace and love for all humanity.

As custodians of the Christian faith, deeply rooted in the Holy Land, we stand in solidarity with the people of this region, who are enduring the devastating consequences of continued strife.

Our faith, which is founded on the teachings of Jesus Christ, compels us to advocate for the cessation of all violent and military activities that bring harm to both Palestinian and Israeli civilians.

We unequivocally condemn any acts that target civilians, regardless of their nationality, ethnicity, or faith. Such actions go against the fundamental principles of humanity and the teachings of Christ, who implored us to “love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:31).

It is our fervent hope and prayer that all parties involved will heed this call for an immediate cessation of violence. We implore political leaders and authorities to engage in sincere dialogue, seeking lasting solutions that promote justice, peace, and reconciliation for the people of this land, who have endured the burdens of conflict for far too long.

[…]

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with us all during these challenging times.

—The Patriarchs and Heads of the Churches

The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, said yesterday, “The cycle of violence that has killed numerous Palestinians and Israelis in the past months has exploded…The operation launched from Gaza, and the reaction of the Israeli Army are bringing us back to the worst periods of our recent history. The too many causalities and tragedies, which both Palestinians and Israeli families have to deal with, will create more hatred and division and will destroy and any perspective of stability.… We ask God to inspire world leaders in their intervention for the implementation of peace and concord so that Jerusalem may be a house of prayer for all peoples.”

A large pro-Palestine rally was held in Times Square, and it was reportedly endorsed by the New York City Democrat Socialists of America (DSA) following the recent deadly attacks on Israel.

The rally was held on Sunday in NYC “in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their right to resist 75 years of occupation and apartheid.”

However, Governor Kathy Hochul (D-N.Y.) and other Democrat officials slammed the protest, calling it “abhorrent and morally repugnant.”

“The people of Israel are facing violent terrorist attacks and civilian kidnappings. I condemn plans to rally in Times Square tomorrow in support of the perpetrators of these horrific actions. The planned rally is abhorrent and morally repugnant,” Hochul wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) (D-N.Y.) also released a statement on X, saying that no family should ever endure this kind of violence and fear.

“I condemn Hamas’ attack in the strongest possible terms,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “No child and family should ever endure this kind of violence and fear, and this violence will not solve the ongoing oppression and occupation in the region. An immediate ceasefire and de-escalation is urgently needed to save lives.”

AOC’s online statement came as surprising to many since she has a lengthy history of taking the side of Palestine while expressing anti-Israel sentiments.

The rally attracted over 1,000 pro-Palestine and pro-Hamas supporters, chanting “Resistance is justified when people are occupied.”

Representative Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.) also slammed the rally, saying: “There is a special place in hell for those who glorify the cold-blooded murder of civilians and children.”

Hamas, a designated Islamic terrorist group, launched an attack on Israel at around 6:30 a.m. local time on Saturday, which consisted of thousands of rockets being fired into the nation while simultaneously sending dozens of fighters and drones across the border.

At least 700 Israelis have died, around 2,150 have been injured, and 100 have been verified as being held hostage by the terrorist organization.

Iran is Orchestrating Hamas’s Attack. Will Hezbollah Strike Israel Next?

The Hamas invasion of Israel is the most significant military action against the Jewish state ever carried out by a terrorist group. The planning for this attack must have begun months ago in Tehran where the bulk of the funds used to arm and train fighters for the attack originated.

Anyone who refers to Hamas as “freedom fighters” should have their head examined. The terrorists kidnapped dozens of civilians — infants, old people, women — and are holding them somewhere in Gaza. As the IDF looks to turn back the terrorists who have invaded seven different areas in the South of Israel, they must contend with the eventuality of a Hezbollah attack in the North.

Already, Israel has exchanged artillery fire with Hezbollah, and the terrorist’s masters in Tehran have given fulsome praise to Hamas for the attack.

Might Hezbollah join Hamas and hit Israel in the North while the IDF is occupied in the South?

Sarit Zehavi, the founder of the Alma Center, which is a research center in Israel dedicated to understanding their national security situation, told the Washington Examiner that there’s a chance Hezbollah could soon attack Israel with the country’s attention focused on the south.

“It’s just a matter of decision for Hezbollah, whether it wants to join in or not. I believe this decision was not made yet, and that’s why we’re not there yet, but maybe we’re not that far from this place,” she said. “Here in Israel, we are preparing for the scenario of war also from the north because we understand it was within the interest of Iran and Hezbollah to escalate the Israeli-Lebanese border. We see what is happening in the south as a part of a bigger plan to attack Israel and weaken the state of Israel from multiple fronts, and I guess this is what the Iranians now are trying to create.”

Iran’s motives are clear. They want to disrupt the movement toward peace between Israel and their Arab neighbors, begun by Donald Trump. Tehran sees peace — quite rightly — as a massive loss of influence for Iran.

NRO:

Since the signing of the Abraham Accords, a series of normalization agreements between Israel and several Arab states, there’s been a transformative wind sweeping across the Middle East, which threatens to upset the established power dynamics, particularly for Iran. Perceiving the potential Israeli–Saudi peace deal as a direct challenge to its hegemonic ambitions, Iran very likely made the bold decision to seize the opportunity and mobilize its terror proxies in Gaza.

The Hamas invasion and possible attack by Hezbollah show that Iran may see a coordinated attack by their proxies as the only way to stop Israel from achieving what would have been unthinkable a few decades ago: Peace between Arabs and Israelis. If they can goad Israel into a bloody enough response, the Arab street may prevent their governments from achieving peace. Seeing a lot of dead Palestinians on the news night after night is not doing much to assuage the anti-Israeli feelings of the Arab mob.

Was it a coincidence that Biden gifted Iran billions of dollars in recent months leading to this audacious attack by Hamas?

The Biden administration’s approach to Iran has further complicated the situation. Despite the glaring evidence of Iran’s malicious intent in the region, the administration’s efforts to reintegrate Iran into the international political order through a renewed nuclear deal is a grave strategic misstep. This approach not only disregards the security concerns of U.S. allies in the Middle East, such as Israel but also strengthens a regime that has consistently sponsored terrorism.

Israel’s response to these attacks will be unprecedented. No doubt, Joe Biden and the American left are already thinking about how to criticize Israel for its “disproportionate response to the attack. And when the crackdown on Hamas gets going, the criticism will reach unparalleled heights in the West.

You have to wonder if Israel will punish Iran directly for the attack. Perhaps Prime Minister Netanyahu would take the opportunity and destroy Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

If he does, Iran can’t say it hasn’t been warned.

The Biden administration is facing criticism for not only being indirectly responsible for the surprise attack Hamas launched against Israel Saturday, which reportedly killed hundreds and injured thousands more, but also for initially calling on Israel not to retaliate.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised swift action against Hamas in response to the attack. “The IDF will immediately use all its strength to destroy Hamas’s capabilities,” he said in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter). “We will destroy them and we will forcefully avenge this dark day that they have forced on the State of Israel and its citizens. As Bialik wrote: ‘Revenge for the blood of a little child has yet been devised by Satan.’”

The Biden administration, however, signaled that it didn’t want Israel to defend itself in a post on X from the U.S. Office of Palestinian Affairs.

“We unequivocally condemn the attack of Hamas terrorists and the loss of life that has incurred,” the post read. “We urge all sides to refrain from violence and retaliatory attacks. Terror and violence solve nothing.”

The post sparked significant outrage from Republicans and was quickly deleted. The State Department claims that it “was not approved and does not represent U.S. policy.”

That seems unlikely. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) demanded that “every single person involved in drafting and approving this tweet […] be immediately expelled from the U.S. government.” He’s absolutely correct. Until that happens, I won’t be convinced that the post from the U.S. Office of Palestinian Affairs didn’t represent Biden administration policy.

Biden eventually released a statement more than 12 hours after the attack.

“This morning, I spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu about the horrific and ongoing attacks in Israel,” Biden said. “The United States unequivocally condemns this appalling assault against Israel by Hamas terrorists from Gaza, and I made clear to Prime Minister Netanyahu that we stand ready to offer all appropriate means of support to the Government and people of Israel.”

“Terrorism is never justified,” he continued. “Israel has a right to defend itself and its people. The United States warns against any other party hostile to Israel seeking advantage in this situation. My Administration’s support for Israel’s security is rock solid and unwavering.”

I really wish I could believe that. The Obama administration made similar claims about supporting Israel, and we all know how that worked out.

Pray for Israel, Pray for Peace

Fifty years ago, almost to the day, on Oct. 6, 1973, Israel was attacked on the holy day of Yom Kippur. I remember being a child attending services and the Rabbi stopping the liturgy to tell us what had happened and to pray for Israel. On Oct. 7, 2023, Israel has again been attacked, this time on the holiday of Shemini Atzeret. Once again, our people and nation have been attacked on a holy day. All reservists have been called up, and Israel is again fighting for her life.

Hamas terrorists infiltrated Israeli communities through the Gaza Strip and launched a surprise attack in conjunction with over 5,000 rockets fired into Israel. Horrific videos of terror are filling the internet. One clip from Gaza shows a lifeless Israeli soldier being trampled by an angry crowd. Hamas asks that all Arab nations attack Israel immediately to “set the earth on fire.” The Hamas commander, Mohammed Deif, specifically asked all terror groups in Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq — all of which are funded through Iran — to join in a war against Israel. Israeli civilians are being specifically attacked, slaughtered, and kidnapped as hostages. We see video after video demonstrating that the Hamas terrorists act in ways that are beyond comprehension by any human being. Rather, they act like sick, rabid animals or zombies who have lost any sense of humanity.

But let’s all be honest: They have acted like this for decades. Hamas and its allies, all of which are funded by and through Iran, have behaved this way over and over as they have prayed for the destruction of both Israel and the United States. They have celebrated violence at every opportunity and demonstrated repeatedly that they would like to do exactly what they have been doing: kill Israelis and Americans, desecrate their corpses, and perform horrors that are unimaginable to any sane human being.

So here’s a question: Given Iran’s repeated hatred for everything Israeli and American, and given that they have constantly and consistently expressed their desires to destroy both nations, how could Joseph Biden and his regime support this evil and give over $6 billion to Iran, the admitted financier of Hamas as well as terrorists in Syria, Lebanon, and the entire region? Forgetting for a moment about all the other anti-American acts done by Biden during his tenure, isn’t sending money to self-proclaimed enemies of America and Israel the definition of treason to the United States?

With God’s help, we will have time to analyze why Israel was unprepared for this attack. Now is the time to support the only democracy in the region in every way, from money to arms to prayers. We will have time to investigate the relationship between the $6 billion gift from Biden to Iran and how it directly funded these horrors in Israel. History will judge Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and their cronies justly when it is realized that the horrors we are seeing are a direct result of the Democratic Party’s actions of supporting Iran.

For most of my life, I voted with the Democratic Party.  But for years now, I have said that any Jew voting for the Democratic Party is like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders. Even those who refused to recognize this previously can now see how true this statement is, not just for Jews but for all Americans.

Biden and his supporters have fortified an enemy of the United States, and we are seeing the manifestation of true evil as a result. At this point, there is no realistic option but to realize that the president of the United States is, in fact, more committed to strengthening our enemies than to supporting our allies. For any American to still support Biden, Blinken, et al. is to be blind to the reality that they and their party are actively working to destroy Israel and America.

Related: What Went Wrong? How Hamas Managed to Stagger Israel

There will be time for an analysis of how this horrific war was permitted to start and the direct role the Democrats had in the process. But there are two things that we must each do to preserve the only democracy in the Middle East and to protect the United States. First, every American must immediately stop all support of the Democratic Party in its entirety until the party has once again become a political party that is committed to the United States and its allies. If we don’t want to see the horrors that are happening in Israel occur here in the United States, God forbid, we must entirely reject the Democratic Party and its candidates until it ostracizes its internal fanatics like Reps. Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, etc. As long as the Democratic Party is controlled by these fanatics—who hate America and her allies while supporting groups like Hamas that commit such heinous acts as we see going on in Israel right now—there is no hope for the Democrats or for peace.

And we must pray. We must all pray for our brothers and sisters in Eretz Yisrael, that they remain safe and protected and that they quickly triumph over these terrorists who worship death, destruction, and hate. The United States was built on the foundation of being a nation supported by God, and we need to develop our personal relationships with God through prayer and entreat God that this evil we see manifest among Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, and their allies is quickly, efficiently, and permanently destroyed. We must pray for peace and safety for all who support respect, healing, and peace in the world.

I ask that you join me in your hearts, souls, and voices:

Ribbono Shel Olam, Master of the Universe; Shema Koleinu, Hear our voices. Keep the men and women in the IDF safe and protected as they defend our people and our nation. Protect the civilians of Israel, and lead our people to a speedy and safe victory over those who seek to destroy us and have attacked us on the Holy Day of Shemini Atzeret. Keep our people safe, and let your healing light keep our bodies and souls strong and whole. Bring healing to the bodies of our brothers and sisters in the IDF and healing to the hearts of these Arab terrorists so that they put down their weapons and totally cease their hate for us. Please, God, please, bring peace and healing swiftly to the Jewish people so that we may worship and live safely in the land you gave to us through our forefathers. May You, the One who makes peace in the Universe, make peace upon us and upon all Israel. And together, let us say, Amen.

Former President Donald Trump issued a strong statement in support of Israel after Hamas launched the largest attack in decades into the southern parts of Israel.

“The Hamas terrorist invasion of Israeli territory and the murder of Israeli soldiers today and the brutal murder of citizens is an act of savagery that must and will be crushed,” Trump told Iowa caucus-goers in Waterloo Saturday afternoon.

Trump was speaking at a Commit to Caucus event in Black Hawk County, a major Democrat stronghold in Iowa when he made the remarks.

“It has to be dealt with very powerfully,” Trump said. “This is a time where the United States needs leadership. We don’t have leadership, but Israel is at war. And the United States obviously is going to stick with Israel, and strongly.”

Hamas militants had launched thousands of rockets into Israeli towns near the Gaza Strip in a surprise assault Saturday morning. They also sent in soldiers who slaughtered dozens. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the country was “at war.”

Trump took aim at the Biden administration for unfreezing $6 billion in Iranian assets before Hamas attacked Israel.

“I would not be at all surprised if part of that tremendous wealth that they just accumulated went into, all of a sudden, watching this level of aggression,” Trump said. “They didn’t have that level of aggression with me.”

This move came as part of a prisoner swap deal that permitted the transfer of money held in a South Korean bank to accounts in Qatar. The Biden administration has claimed that the money will only be allowed to be used for humanitarian purposes, but national security expert Clare Lopez, founder of Lopez Liberty LLC, explained why that may not be true.

“Money’s fungible and were that money to be used for let’s say humanitarian purposes,” Lopez told One America News. “That frees up another $6 billion some other place that will unmistakably, unarguably go to nuclear weapons production. It will go to terror support Islamic jihad groups in the Middle East and, and further abroad.”

Trump emphasized what he believed to be a key point.

“This would have never happened with me there,” Trump said.

Trump is leading his primary competitors by more than 30 percent in Iowa, according to RealClearPolitics polling Average.

Israel at war: Saudis, Qatar, Iran blame ‘occupation’; France, Netherlands support Israel’s right to defend itself

Israel has declared a state of war after Hamas launches a massive surprise attack. At least 70 Israelis have been killed, over 900 wounded, and dozens of hostages in Israel and Gaza have been taken. Hamas has been reportedly using Islamic State tactics as it stormed Israeli communities and took captives.

“At least five different communities were attacked on the ground by terrorists. They were in pickup trucks, much like ISIS uses,” said Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Conricus.

Biden didn’t release a statement until after 11AM:

Operation Swords of Iron is now on.

Meanwhile Saudi Arabia, along with Iran and Qatar are blaming Israel for the attack because of its alleged “occupation.” Many say that Iran launched this attack in order to head off Israeli-Saudi normalization.

“Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran say Israel has only itself to blame for Hamas attacks,” by Nick Robertson, The Hill, October 2, 2023:

The governments of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Iran appeared to back Hamas in its escalating conflict with Israel on Saturday.

The Palestinian militant group launched a mass attack on Israeli forces and settlements, killing at least 40 people early Saturday.

While leaders in the U.S. and Europe quickly denounced the attack and gave support for Israel, the three Middle Eastern nations criticized the country over its treatment of Palestinians.

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is closely following the developments of the unprecedented situation between a number of Palestinian factions and the Israeli occupation forces, which has resulted in a high level of violence on several fronts there,” the country’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“The Kingdom recalls its repeated warnings of the dangers of the explosion of the situation as a result of the continued occupation, and deprivation of the Palestinian people of their legitimate rights, and the repetition of systematic provocations against its sanctities,” the statement continues.

The condemnation comes as both the Israeli and Saudi governments have attempted to normalize relations in recent years, at the encouragement of the U.S.

A senior Iranian government advisor explicitly endorsed Hamas in the conflict, the most direct support for the militant group from any government official globally.

“We congratulate the Palestinian fighters,” advisor Yahya Rahim Safavi said, according to state media via Reuters. “We will stand by the Palestinian fighters until the liberation of Palestine and Jerusalem.”

Iran state media showed video of parliament members chanting in support of Hamas on Saturday, saying “Death to Israel” and “Palestine is victorious, Israel will be destroyed”.

Iran has funded and supplied Hamas for years as part of its decades-long conflict with Israel….

What Went Wrong? How Hamas Managed to Stagger Israel

How did Hamas, the bloodthirsty jihad terror group in Gaza, perpetrate mayhem and destruction inside Israel on a scale never before seen?

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Saturday that “since this morning, the State of Israel is at war.” This was as Hamas fired over two thousand rockets into Israel, and over a hundred Israelis were murdered as jihad terrorists entered Israel and began killing people indiscriminately.

There has never been a Hamas jihad offensive from Gaza of this magnitude. In fact, throughout the history of modern Israel, there has never been anything like this, even when the Jewish state faced jihad coalitions of the neighboring Arab states in major wars in 1948, 1967, and 1973. So how was Hamas able to do it?

For one thing, it was Shabbat in Israel and the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah. In that, this latest jihad resembles the 1973 war, which was launched on Yom Kippur. The idea in both cases was to catch the Israelis napping and at minimal preparedness, with large numbers of military personnel off for the holiday.

But that was by no means all. There were widespread reports that as Hamas’ relentless rocket barrage began, Israel’s vaunted Iron Dome missile defense system was down. Reports on this so far are sketchy, but if the Islamic Republic of Iran, which as the chief financier of Hamas is clearly behind these attacks, has managed to breach Israeli security and interfere with the functioning of the Iron Dome, the ominous implications cannot be overstated. If Israel cannot manage to get the Iron Dome up and running on a secure basis, the Hamas attacks on Saturday could turn into a larger war that engulfs the entire region, as the Islamic Republic of Iran finally attempts to make good on decades of genocidal rhetoric directed at Israel.

Hamas also took advantage of vulnerabilities in Israel’s defenses. As jihadis screamed “Allahu akbar,” a bulldozer destroyed Israel’s fence at the Gaza border, allowing jihadis to pour into Israel in large numbers. Hamas’ military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, issued a triumphant communique on Telegram:

Under intense missile cover and targeting of the enemy’s command and control systems, the Mujahideen of the Qassam Brigades were able to cross the enemy’s defensive line and carry out a simultaneous coordinated attack on more than 50 sites in the Gaza Division and the southern region of the occupation army, which led to the overthrow of the division’s defense, and our Mujahideen are still They are [sic] fighting heroic battles in 25 locations so far, and the fighting is currently taking place at the “Ra’im” base, the headquarters of the Gaza Division.

It is a jihad of victory or martyrdom.

Why wasn’t there a full-fledged wall at the Gaza border? Well, just imagine how the Biden regime, which resumed shoveling millions to the Palestinians after Trump stopped doing so, would have reacted if the Israelis had tried to construct such a thing. They would have denounced it as another “apartheid wall” and demanded that it be dismantled.

The Israeli government, however, could fall as a result of this and certainly bears a great deal of responsibility. Yet here again, the ultimate fault lies with the Biden regime. Ever since Benjamin Netanyahu was reelected prime minister and embarked upon efforts to reform the Israeli judiciary, the Bidenites have been undermining him in every way possible, and have even been accused of funding the massive protests in Israel against the Netanyahu government.

How much of what Hamas was able to get away with on Saturday was the result of the U.S. pressure upon Israel and favoring of the Palestinians, as the American government turned a blind eye to the genocidal jihad rhetoric that permeates the Palestinian areas every day? How distracted was the Israeli government in having to spend the bulk of its time on internal disagreements that the Biden regime had exacerbated instead of paying the necessary attention to national defense?

Old Joe Biden finally shuffled out of bed and issued a pro-Israel statement shortly after 11 a.m. ET on Saturday. It is unlikely, however, that the regime for which he is the bumbling, semi-coherent figurehead will depart from its ordinary practice of urging “restraint” upon Israel and condemning it for a “disproportionate” response once the Jewish state takes even the smallest measures to defend itself.

As I explained here, the Biden regime brought about the current situation. Now it should have the residual decency to get out of the way and let Israel do what it must do in order to survive. But yes, “Biden” and “decency” are two phenomena that have never met, and never will meet.

Trump Blasts Biden: US ‘Taxpayer Dollars Helped Fund These Attacks’ on Israel

Former President Donald Trump not only condemned Hamas for the terrorist attacks on Israel, but he also reminded Americans that President Joe Biden's $6 billion payment to Iran ultimately "helped fund these attacks."

"These Hamas attacks are a disgrace and Israel has every right to defend itself with overwhelming force," Trump wrote in a statement Saturday morning. "Sadly, American taxpayer dollars helped fund these attacks, which many reports are saying came from the Biden Administration."

Trump has long hailed himself as a pro-Israel president and added the Abraham Accords made progress for peace in the Middle East, but have been "whittled away" by the Biden administration's Iran appeasement policies.

"We brought so much peace to the Middle East through the Abraham Accords, only to see Biden whittle it away at a far more rapid pace than anyone thought possible," Trump's statement, also posted to Truth Social, continued. "Here we go again."

Iran, Venezuela and Syria sign groundbreaking tripartite deal to construct oil refinery in Homs, Syria

The new tripartite deal just signed by Iran, Venezuela, and Syria to construct a groundbreaking oil refinery in Homs, with a capacity of 140,000 barrels per day, further strengthens the collaboration, as well as the economies, of these countries. Iran has been significantly aiding Syria and Venezuela to bypass the impact of Western sanctions — providing both countries with technical, economic, and military aid.

Iran’s relationships with Syria and Venezuela could be disastrous for Western interests. In 2020, U.S. Southern Command chief Admiral Craig Faller warned that Iran’s Quds Force was sending weapons and troops to Venezuela. In 2022, Venezuela provided Iran with 1,000,000 hectares of  alleged “farmland for cultivation.” That same year, an independent Israeli intelligence analyst stated that a Venezuelan cargo plane was linked to Iran’s attempts to attack Israelis. Venezuela has also hosted Hizballah and Fatah cells involved in money laundering, drug dealing, and jihad activity.

As for Syria, Iran carries out much of its proxy activities and plots against Israel there. In April, Iran, Syria, Hamas, and Hizballah talked further about “resistance” against Israel. Last month, it was revealed that Iran is now building a new airstrip in southern Syria, only twelve miles away from the Israeli border.

“Iran, Venezuela, Syria ink tripartite deal to construct a refinery in Homs,” Tehran Times, October 1, 2023:

TEHRAN – Iran, Venezuela, and Syria have signed a trilateral agreement to cooperate on constructing a new oil refinery in Syria’s Homs Province, a senior official with the Iranian Oil Ministry said.

Deputy Oil Minister Jalil Salari provided the information in an interview with Iranian media, IRNA reported on Sunday.

The deal foresees the construction of “a new 140,000-barrel refinery,” whose required oil would be provided jointly by the Islamic Republic and Venezuela, Salari said.

“The [relevant] fundamental studies and designing process [for implementation of the project] has been completed,” the official noted.

The refinery would complement two already functioning ones, the Banias Refinery and the Homs Refinery, which are both located in western Syria.

According to Salari, “the financing and construction [phases of the project] are on the agenda.”

Iran and Syria have also signed a memorandum of understanding towards repairing the 110,000-barrel oil refinery that is located in Homs, the Iranian official reported….

Defense Department: Iran can ‘produce enough fissile material for a nuclear device in less than two weeks’~Member of Iranian government influence network visited White House at least five times for high-level meetings

Good thing Old Joe Biden sent them six billion dollars, eh?

“Iran can produce fissile material for a nuclear bomb within 2 weeks – US,” by Tovah Lazaroff, Jerusalem Post, October 1, 2023 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

Iran can produce enough fissile material for a nuclear bomb in less than two weeks, the United States warned as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday held a security assessment with Defense Minister Yoav Gallant that focused on threats from the Islamic Republic.

“It is assessed that Iran is not pursuing a nuclear weapons program at this time,” US Defense Department stated in a report it published on Friday called the “Strategy for Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction” in 2023.

Israel has long warned that Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons is a top global threat, but the US stated that when it came to weapons of mass destruction it was most concerned with China and Russia.

Those two nations “present the principle weapons of mass destruction challenge,” the report stated.

North Korea, Iran and violent extremist organizations “remain persistent regional threats that must be addressed,” the report explained.

Iran, in specific, it noted, “has the capacity to produce enough fissile material for a nuclear device in less than two weeks.”…

The Most Logical (and Treacherous) Reason Yet for Joe Biden’s Open Border

The Most Logical (and Treacherous) Reason Yet for Joe Biden's Open Border
AP Photo/Fernando Llano
How bad is America’s Southern border invasion? So bad that even Joe “I’ll Never Build a Wall” Biden is talking about building a wall at the Southern border. Sure, the guy who sold off construction materials left behind by Donald Trump’s border wall crews will close the border. If you believe that, you’ll believe that Joe Biden is a great father and wonderful dog owner, too. Here’s a clue: that dog won’t hunt, either.

Soon after radio host and constitutional expert Mark Levin began giving voice to the idea that Joe Biden could be impeached right now based on the open southern border leaving Americans unsafe and unsecured, Joe’s White House decided to rattle the chains in hopes that lo-fo American voters and Joe Scarborough would think that he’s for closed borders. Homie, please.

Like so many other millions of people, New York Post reporter Miranda Devine wondered why any American president—even clueless Joe—would leave America’s back door wide open.

She asked,

Does anyone here understand why the Biden administration is persisting with the suicidal open border? They could stop it tomorrow but they just lie that it’s “secure”. The issue will be a vote killer in the 2024 election. Why aren’t they pivoting? Is it a scam to get voters for 2024? What are the mechanics of illegals voting? Is it a more long term strategy to shore up sagging Democratic appeal? Or is it a pet project of Biden’s to please Pope Francis in the mistaken belief it will save his soul?

You can understand why she struggled for answers. We’ve all been wondering why Biden would be opening the Southern border, allowing in potentially some of the worst actors from the prisons south of the border and hell’s half acre pushing out the local war heroes and Army-Navy game-goers to make their home in the US of A.

Faster than you can say, “They’ll vote Democrat,” there’s another, more convincing, shocking, tectonic, and treacherous answer. And since you’ve seen what the left has done and can only imagine what they will do, this border gambit makes sense. Sick and disgusting sense.

Dan Bongino mentioned this theory on his podcast on Tuesday of this week. And if you combine what he said with what PJ Media has reported about Leaving California, lost congressional seats, and expected lost congressional seats, you will begin to understand.

They want the votes, of course, but first, the left—Joe Biden’s Democrats—has allowed the seven-plus-million-person flood of migrants to wash into the country to turn the tide of upcoming elections by rigging the Electoral College in the long run.

The Democrats call it the great replacement theory and blame Republicans for authoring such a racist-sounding program.

But, of course, the Democrats authored it and promulgated it. Because they mean it. And they say it out loud.

Bongino said, “The Democrats are playing the long game. …[They] are hemorrhaging people out of liberal states. What does this all mean?”

“Texas gets two congressional seats in the next re-allocation in the census, and New York and California each lose one,” he said. Republicans get to gerrymander the state, “and it’s likely going to be another Republican seat.” He added, “The Democrats are terrified because they realize that nobody’s leaving red states and everybody’s leaving blue states. Do you get it? [Democrats] could lose the House forever. And on the Electoral College side, [Democrats could lose] the presidency. The Electors to the Electoral College are based on the number of congressional seats plus two,” he explained. “Texas will increase the number of electors while California, New York, and Illinois are losing people” – and electors. “How can you change all of that? When the census counts all those new illegal immigrants who broke into the country with the approval and help of Joe Biden.”

Voters in border states, such as California and Arizona, have been howling about this for decades. The census currently counts all residents—not only citizens—and allocates congressional seats based on this population. That is why Trump wanted the question on the census about legality to call attention to the fact that Americans in these states are rightly PO’d that their votes and representation are diluted, yes, diluted, by illegal aliens.

You can see Bongino explain at 42:29.

Mexican President Calls Biden’s Border Wall a Publicity Stunt

Mexican President Calls Biden's Border Wall a Publicity Stunt
Townhall Media/Julio Rosas
During his regular morning presser on Friday, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said he does not think that the new border wall will even be built, adding that the Biden administration doesn’t even want to build it.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, Lopez Obrador called the wall “pure publicity.” That presser followed a Thursday visit by a delegation from the U.S. State Department, which was led by Antony Blinken. Lopez Obrador commented that the administration does not even want to build the new sections of the wall. He added that during the meeting, the Mexican delegation said it does not believe the migration problem will be solved with a wall, saying, “We’ve always spoken about tending to the root causes.”

Lopez Obrador has a point. In another story, the Free Beacon said that on Thursday, Biden stated that the administration is legally obligated to go through with the construction since the money for the project had been appropriated during the Trump administration and could not be used for anything else. Biden stated:

The money was appropriated for the border wall. I tried to get them to redirect that money. They didn’t. They wouldn’t, and in the meantime, there’s nothing under the law other than they have to use the money for what it was appropriated. I can’t stop that.

This stands in stark contrast to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ statement earlier in the week in which he said there was “an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries.” Of course, that statement stands in stark contrast to one he made in 2021 that he did not agree with building a wall.

Never one to pass up an opportunity for a good old-fashioned tantrum, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) vented her spleen on Thursday, calling the planned construction a “cruel policy.”

I know that the congresswoman objects to the wall on principle, but she should reconsider. It is after Labor Day, and she needs someplace where she can wear that white dress for photo ops.

What we are seeing here is a classic example of this administration’s disorganization. It may be conjecture, but I suspect that when Biden’s people learned that the funding situation was non-negotiable, they needed a way to spin it, hence Mayorkas’ alarmist language. The administration may have thought that this was an opportunity to woo voters who are wary or angry about the president and his record, with the bonus of being able to tweak Trump by completing something he did not.

Then the wall would not be completed, and the blame would fall on Republican obstructionists. But someone, somewhere, realized that renewed construction would infuriate much of the base, although Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-N.Y.) may have privately gotten her hopes up. And so tactics were switched, gears were ground, and the message was reversed.

And no matter what, the wall will not be built.

With the ongoing border crisis, the Biden administration is following the footsteps of the Trump administration.

On Wednesday, the White House announced it waived 26 federal laws to permit more border wall construction in southern Texas, marking the first move by the administration’s executive power to follow Donald Trump’s presidency.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) made the announcement on the United States Federal Registry outlining the construction in Starr County, Texas, which is where Border Patrol agents are seeing “high illegal entry.”

“There is presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries into the United States in the project areas,” Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said in the notice.

The Clean Air Act, Endangered Species Act, and Safe Drinking Water Act were some of the federal laws waived by the DHS to allow construction at the southern border. The funds will be used from a congressional appropriation in 2019 for border wall construction.

Federal customs and border protection officials announced the project in June and began listening to public comments in August showing maps of additional construction up to 20 miles long. Starr County Judge Eloy Vera said it would start south of the Falcon Dam and run past Salineno, Texas.

However, environmental advocates claim that the border construction will run through public lands, and habitats of endangered plants and species.

“A plan to build a wall through will bulldoze an impermeable barrier straight through the heart of that habitat,” Laiken Jordahl, a south-west conservation advocate for the Center for Biological Diversity, said on Wednesday afternoon. “It will stop wildlife migrations dead in their tracks. It will destroy a huge amount of wildlife refuge land. And it’s a horrific step backwards for the borderlands.”

During the Trump administration, almost 450 miles of barriers were built along the southwest border between 2017 and January 2021. Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R-Texas), renewed the construction after the Biden administration stopped it at the start of Joe Biden’s presidency.

The decision by the Biden administration contradicts their previous statement to end the construction of the border wall. On January 20, 2021 the Biden administration stated “building a massive wall that spans the entire southern border is not a serious policy solution.”

The latest announcement is causing an uproar from Democrats who oppose the move by the Biden administration.

“A border wall is a 14th-century solution to a 21st-century problem,” Texas congressman Henry Cuellar said in a statement. He added: “It will not bolster border security in Starr county.

“I continue to stand against the wasteful spending of taxpayer dollars on an ineffective border wall.”
