Something has happened again on ORF: In an article about the climate in the Roman Empire (!), the warm period is described as “around 200 BC. C.E. to 150 C.E.” dated. “Before our time” instead of “before Christ”? How woke is it actually?

The time calculation used by the ORF is mainly used by non-religious people, members of non-Christian religions and in explicitly secular states and the more common abbreviation v. BC preferred. So it’s about not provoking non-Christians. Things have been getting hot again on X (Twitter) since then. “How woke can you actually get in this protected workshop?” asks ÖVP politician Manfred Juraczka.

Muslims’ feelings could be hurt
Small side note: Also in the GDR there were mainly C.E. and (n.)U. Z. the standard formulation. Does the ORF, which is financed by compulsory taxes, simply want to be particularly woke – and is intentionally canceling Jesus Christ? After all, the use of the term Christ in the era is considered a confession of faith. Muslims, Jews, atheists and others may find this discriminatory or their religious beliefs infringing on their freedom of belief.

The IDF and Shin Bet announce that the commander of Hamas’s Nuseirat battalion, Ismail Siraj, and his deputy, Ahmed Wahaba, were killed in an airstrike that hit the Gaza strip. Siraj previously served as a commander of a Hamas Nukhba force company, and was also involved in manufacturing rockets, according to the joint statement.

As a purveyor of the most hateful anti-Jewish propaganda, AOC goes to such an extreme that she has forgotten that Jesus was a Jew from the house of David, and that the region of Judea wasn’t renamed “Palestine” until a century after the time of Christ. Also, as it is succinctly put in a Jerusalem Post article: “Jesus’s homeland is under attack by Islamic terrorists.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez likens Palestinians to Jesus while describing Israel as a violent occupying force in an online Christmas post, prompting critics to slam what they call her blatant “Jew hate.”

In her Instagram story on Christmas Eve, the lefty New York Democrat shared a photo of a child in rubble in the Gaza Strip and said she is praying “for the peace and protection of the innocent in Gaza and the occupied territories.

“In the story of Christmas, Christ was born in modern-day Palestine under the threat of a government engaged in a massacre of innocents,” she wrote.

“He was part of a targeted population being indiscriminately killed to protect an unjust leader’s power. Mary and Joseph, displaced by violence and forced to flee, became refugees in Egypt with a newborn waiting to one day return home.

“Thousands of years later, right-wing forces are violently occupying Bethlehem as similar stories unfold for today’s Palestinians, so much so that the Christian community in Bethlehem has canceled this year’s Christmas Eve celebrations out of both [fear for their] safety and respect,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote.

“And yet, also today, holy children are still being born in a place of unspeakable violence — for every child born, of any identity and from any place, is sacred. Especially the children of Gaza,” AOC said…..

The enemies of America are inside the house.

Elect enemies, get enmity.

Vice President Kamala Harris was momentarily shouted down by a Democratic state lawmaker as she gave remarks during a holiday party at her home on Monday.

Harris, 59, was in the middle of her speech when Delaware state Rep. Madinah Wilson-Anton (D) unfurled a sign that read “ceasefire” and began shouting at the vice president.

“Madam Vice President, I am a rep from Delaware. Did you know in Bethlehem they are not celebrating Christmas? Did you know in Bethlehem, baby Jesus is under rubble? Why won’t you call for a cease-fire?” Wilson-Anton

Wilson-Anton has served in the Delaware House of Representatives since 2021 and became the first Muslim elected official in the state after winning her 2020 race by more than 40 points.

“Christmas is cancelled in Bethlehem,” Wilson-Anton wrote on X after interrupting the vice president.

Bethlehem is in the West Bank, not Gaza, and it’s Islamic occupation that has pushed Christians out of Bethlehem. As a Muslim, Rep. Wilson-Anton only seems to care about Christians when she can exploit them to attack Jews in support of Islamic terrorists.

But it’s not like pro-Hamas ceasefire propaganda ever makes much sense. And Rep. Madinah Wilson-Anton’s feed has been non-stop propaganda since the Oct 7 Hamas attack on Israel.

Rep. Wilson-Anton responded to that attack by posting that, “so long as a government refuses to respect the existence of a people it should expect resistance”.

None of this could be too surprising. Wilson-Anton had been involved with the antisemitic Students for Justice in Palestine hate group and assorted anti-Israel organizations. Few were paying attention when she ran for office in a tiny state, but that’s also how Rep. Ilhan Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib got their start. What happens in Delaware or in state legislatures doesn’t stay there.

The enemies of America and the Judeo-Christian tradition are in the house and not just the Delaware State House.
