Former President Donald Trump was handed a major legal victory in the Georgia election fraud case against him.

On Wednesday, Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee granted Trump the right to appeal his ruling that allowed District Attorney Fani Willis (D-Ga.) to stay on the case.

This comes after Trump and seven other co-defendants have sought to boot Willis off the case. Trump did not have an automatic right to appeal before the start of the trial.

The defendants must now wait to hear whether the appeals court will agree to hear the case, effectively delaying the next trial from being scheduled.

One of the 45th president’s lawyers, Steve Sadow, called McAfee’s Wednesday decision “highly significant,” adding that he is hopeful their appeal will win.

“The defense is optimistic that appellate review will lead to the case being dismissed and the DA being disqualified,” he added.

“The Court intends to continue addressing the many other unrelated pending pretrial motions, regardless of whether the petition is granted within 45 days of filing, and even if any subsequent appeal is expedited by the appellate court,” McAfee wrote in his ruling.

Meanwhile, the 45th president and his co-defendants are hoping to take Willis and the rest of her team off the case due to Willis’s past-romantic relationship with prosecutor Nathan Wade, who has since resigned from the case after the judge allowed her to stay on as long as he stepped down.

Additionally, Trump and the rest of his co-defendants are hoping to get the entire case thrown out and the charges tossed entirely. Trump’s team has said that the romance between Wade and Willis was a clear conflict of interest, which Willis has adamantly denied.

A new poll has revealed that Pennsylvania voters would choose to vote for former President Donald Trump over current President Joe Biden.

In the latest Emerson College Polling/Hill survey sent out on Thursday morning, Trump continues to hold a lead of 47% to 43%.

The survey analysis also revealed that when asked which way they were leaning in the election, Trump had a lead of 52%-48%.

Since November, Trump has led Biden in every Emerson Poll in the state of Pennsylvania.

The latest numbers are alarming for the Biden campaign. The Democrat won Pennsylvania in the 2020 election after he utilized the “State of Independence” to reveal his government programs and initiatives.

Additionally, most experts believe that Pennsylvania will be a key state in deciding the 2024 election after Trump beat out Hillary Clinton in it in 2016.

The survey also showed that “President Biden holds a 38% job approval among Pennsylvania voters and a 55% job disapproval.”

Voters also stated that they believe Trump would be the better option to handle immigration and the Israel-Hamas war. However, voters also believe Biden has an edge in abortion access.

“There is a distinction in motivation between Biden and Trump voters,” said Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling. “Trump voters support the former president because they care about an issue (28%), like Trump (27%), or dislike Biden (21%), whereas a plurality of Biden voters (33%) support the president because they dislike Trump and 24% support Biden because they like him as a candidate.”

The Republican National Committee (RNC) formally elected Michael Whatley as its new head and Lara Trump as the co-chair on Friday. The vote solidified former president Donald Trump’s wishes to reshape RNC leadership as he looks to the November election.

During the RNC’s leadership meetings in Houston, Texas, officials chose to replace outgoing chair Ronna McDaniel, a decision that many Republicans were ecstatic about.

Whatley promised the RNC that he “will be focused like a laser on getting out the vote and protecting the ballot” in a speech to members.

“In less than eight months, we are going to determine the fate of not only the United States but of the entire world,” Whatley said. “And this body, the RNC, is going to be the vanguard of a movement that will work tirelessly, every single day to elect our nominee Donald J. Trump as the 47th president of the United States, flip the Senate, expand our majority in the House of Representatives.”

Whatley is a Trump supporter who has held positions as General Counsel of the RNC and head of the North Carolina GOP. Following the 2020 election, which Trump has repeatedly said was manipulated, Whatley has repeated the former president’s assertions regarding “election integrity.”

During a 2021 panel discussion on “protecting elections” at the Conservative Political Action Conference, Whatley talked extensively about his attempts to gather hundreds of attorneys and volunteer vote watchers in North Carolina. Additionally, he has expressed skepticism regarding absentee and mail-in voting, unless they are combined with voter ID laws.

As the new co-chair, Lara Trump will be heavily involved in fundraising. Ahead of what promises to be a protracted and brutal general election campaign, the RNC has trailed behind Democrats in terms of cash inflow over the last twelve months.

While speaking to members of the RNC committee on Friday, Lara joyfully mentioned that the organization had already received a $100,000 check and she emphasized the value of early voting and fundraising.

“We’ve got to play the game a little bit differently. We have to encourage people to do things like early voting,” she said.

Top Trump campaign advisor Chris LaCivita, who is joining the RNC to manage day-to-day operations, rejected the notion that the RNC would pay for Trump’s legal fees.

“The fact of the matter is not a penny of the RNC’s money or, for that matter, the campaign’s money has gone or will go to pay legal fees,” LaCivita told The Associated Press.

Donald Trump responds to Joe Biden’s State of the Union address

RECAP of Biden's State of the Union Speech | Lots of Trump hate

Biden's state of the union summary. This came across as a campaign speech more than a state of the union. Biden was harsh on Trump and bragged about what he believes are his best accomplishments. He did seem to embellish the truth and used many republican talking points as his campaign talking points.
