The Planet Is Saved Now: Climate Lunatics Throw Soup on the Mona Lisa

Climate activists are convinced that human irresponsibility has led to catastrophic warming of the planet, to the extent that people are starving. But now they’ve hit on a solution: deface the world’s great artworks with soup. On Sunday, the Mona Lisa got the treatment, and I feel cooler already.

Two women with t-shirts reading “Riposte Alimentaire,” that is, Food Counterattack, entered the Louvre in Paris, made their way to the Mona Lisa, and yelled: "What is more important? Art or the right to healthy and sustainable food? Your agricultural system is sick. Our farmers are dying at work."

This was a glimpse into the muddled mind of a leftist. The Mona Lisa has graced the world with its presence since the sixteenth century. When Leonardo da Vinci first painted it, he did not deny anyone the right to healthy and sustainable food by doing so. Nor does the renowned painting’s continued existence impoverish or starve anyone. And our agricultural system is indeed sick, not because of greedy capitalists heating up the planet, but because (for one thing) of socialist internationalists (like those of Riposte Alimentaire) who are forcing the closure of farms in Germany and the Netherlands, and destroying the livelihood of the farmers, in the name of climate action.

Nevertheless, despite their proclamation making no sense at all, they then proceeded to douse the protective glass that prevents terrorists like them from damaging the Mona Lisa with soup. But Riposte Alimentaire isn’t even alone in employing this lunatic tactic. Back in Oct. 2022, purple-haired climate doom fanatics from a group called Just Stop Oil threw tomato soup onto Vincent Van Gogh’s famed Sunflowers painting in the National Gallery in London, because it’s an oil painting. Really. That same month, activists hurled mashed potatoes at Claude Monet’s Haystacks in the Museum Barberini in Potsdam, Germany, before they glued their hands to the wall and settled in for a long day of climate hectoring, mythology, propaganda, and sloganeering. The Mosa Lisa has also been attacked before by a nut who smeared its protective glass with cake in May 2022.

It’s an annoying and stupid form of protest. Couldn’t all this soup (and mashed potatoes and cake) have gone to feed the starving people for which these leftists are supposedly agitating? In any case, there is going to be a lot more of it, and worse. One principal reason why this is so is that as this self-righteous and ignorant vandalism continues, authorities do little or nothing to stop it. At the Louvre on Sunday, all that museum security officials did was put black screens between the Riposte Alimentaire soup-throwers and the aghast museum visitors, who were then evacuated.

Authorities are likely hesitant to act because they are essentially just as far to the left as the climate protesters. Riposte Alimentaire demanded the integration of "food into the general social security system," and an end to an economic system that "stigmatizes the most precarious and does not respect our fundamental right to food." They want the French government to give citizens (and almost certainly non-citizens as well) $162 a month for food, with no strings attached. Whether you work or don’t work, whether you’re productive or not, no matter what, you’ll get $162 for food. Who will have to pay for this? Riposte Alimentaire was too busy throwing soup to explain that.

Despite their clear sympathy for the protesters, museums are likely to begin to institute more effective security measures. Then, however, the protesters are likely to up the ante as well. When they see that juvenile stunts in museums aren’t bringing the world back from the brink of the climate apocalypse they’ve been skillfully led to believe is on the horizon, they’re not going to stand down or reexamine their false premises. Instead, they’ll move from perpetrating what looks to be harmless pranks against artistic masterpieces to destroying them. On the one hand, leftists are tearing down statues of military and political heroes because of racism and other deviations from their political line. And meanwhile, they’re also targeting non-political artistic masterpieces to issue their lunatic calls for the implementation of socialism, a political ideology that has all too often been spectacularly oppressive and failed to bring economic justice.

Will the world’s artistic patrimony survive this madness relatively unscathed? We can hope.

Hunter Biden’s Art Gallery Guy Finally Admits What We All Knew About Hunter’s Paintings

AP Photo/Julio Cortez
You may remember Georges Bergès. He’s the New York art gallery proprietor who has exhibited Hunter Biden’s paintings and insisted, with a straight face, that the Big Guy’s bag man is a genuine artist. Now, however, Bergès has admitted what the entire world knew all along: the whole Hunter-As-Picasso shtick was just another Biden influence-peddling scheme.

House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) interviewed Bergès and issued this statement on Tuesday:

The Biden White House appears to have deceived the American people about facilitating an ethics agreement governing the sale of Hunter Biden’s art. Hunter Biden’s gallerist never had any communication with the White House about such an agreement to make sure there was any sort of ethics compliance at all, and he provided information to the committee revealing how Hunter Biden’s amateur art career is an ethics nightmare. The vast majority of Hunter Biden’s art has been purchased by Democrat donors, one of whom was appointed by President Biden to a prestigious commission after she purchased Hunter Biden’s art for tens of thousands of dollars shortly after Joe Biden’s inauguration. The White House has a lot of explaining to do about misleading the American people.

Biden’s handlers are not the only ones who need to do some explaining. Bergès himself does as well. He famously said in February, “I know that there’s a lot of politics involved at the moment which is a shame because his work is not only good, it’s important. Hunter Biden will become one of the most consequential artists in this century because the world needs his art now more than ever.”

Consequential. Yeah, that’s undeniably true, but the consequential nature of Hunter Biden’s art may not lie within his paintings themselves but in the purposes for which they were created and sold. And sold they certainly did: this crackhead party boy who had shown no previous sign of having any interest in art, much less a talent for it, overnight became one of the hottest properties in the art world, with his paintings going for as much as $500,000 and generally selling for between $55,000 to $225,000 each.

In comparison, in 2021 a painting by Pablo Picasso sold for $150,000. To be sure, better-known Picasso paintings frequently sell for millions, but it was astonishing for Hunter Biden's paintings to be selling for prices that were remotely comparable to what was paid for anything that one of the great masters produced.

Yet despite Bergès’ admission to Comer, which essentially reveals that Hunter’s entire artistic career was just another money-making scheme for the Biden crime family, as of this writing on Wednesday morning, Hunter’s bio is still available in the “Our Artists” section of the George Bergès Gallery website. It’s as fanciful as the idea that Hunter is an artist worthy of note:

A lawyer by profession, Hunter Biden now devotes his energies to the creative arts, bringing innumerable experiences to bear. The results are powerful and impactful paintings ranging from photogenic to mixed media to the abstract. His chosen substrates are canvas, YUPO paper, wood, and metal on which he affixes oil, acrylic, ink along with the written word; all of which creates a unique experience that has become his signature.

In reality, Hunter’s paintings show so much stylistic divergence from one another that they raise questions about whether he has more than one ghost artist turning them out for him.

Whoever may be producing them, however, their purpose is now clear. Contradicting Biden regime claims that Hunter didn’t even know who was buying his paintings, much less that they were means of selling influence, Bergès “admitted Hunter Biden knew the identities of the individuals who purchased roughly 70% of the value of his art, including Democrat donors Kevin Morris and Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali.”

The House Oversight and Accountability Committee also revealed that Bergès “confirmed Hunter Biden’s name had influence on setting the price for his art.” The art gallery director has been rewarded for his faithful service: “Georges Bergès stated that he has talked on the phone and met in-person with Joe Biden, even attending the wedding the Bidens hosted at the White House."

With the entire charade of Hunter Biden’s art career, the Biden regime is playing the American people for fools. It isn’t the first time. It won’t be the last.

Major Democratic donor and Hunter Biden art buyer’s 3-year-old great-niece orphaned and kidnapped by Hamas

Will she now reconsider her support of Old Joe Biden and abetting of his corruption, in light of the fact that it was the Biden regime’s treason and fecklessness that enabled the Oct. 7 jihad massacre to happen? Don’t hold your breath.

“Major Democratic donor, Hunter Biden art buyer’s 3-year-old American relative kidnapped by Hamas,” by Madeleine Hubbard, Just The News, November 24, 2023:

Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali, a major Democratic donor well connected to the Biden administration, has been bringing attention to the hostages after her 3-year-old great-niece, a U.S. citizen, was orphaned and taken captive by Hamas terrorists on Oct. 7.

Hirsh Naftali is known for buying Hunter Biden’s artwork, visiting the White House more than a dozen times, and being appointed by President Joe Biden to a historical preservation commission.

Since her great-niece, Abigail Mor Idan was kidnapped from the kibbutz of Kfar Aza, Hirsch Nafti has become a vocal advocate for the hostages. Abigail is reportedly one of the approximately 50 hostages slated to be released starting Friday, according to The Times of Israel.

Hirsh Naftali expressed cautious optimism during a CNN interview Tuesday before the hostage deal solidified.

“I’m not a politician, I’m not a diplomat. I will believe it when I see them walk out,” she said. “Until then we just have to keep everything in check because it’s just too much of an emotional rollercoaster.”…

Taxpayer-Funded Minneapolis Art Center Holds ‘Family’ Class on Summoning Demons

Taxpayer-Funded Minneapolis Art Center Holds 'Family' Class on Summoning Demons

It’s back to school time! What better way to get the year off to a great start than by taking the whole family to a demon-summoning class? Summon a few demons, sell your soul, and then head out for some last-minute shopping for school supplies. Then ice cream for everyone! It’s practically a scene out of a Norman Rockwell painting. Maybe we could call it “Grandpappy Teaches Billy the Dark Arts.”

It’s funny because it’s true! Well, it’s not funny because it’s true.

Direct from the “I-Couldn’t-Make-This Crap-Up-if-I-Tried” Department comes the news that the Walker Arts Center in Minneapolis (where else but Minneapolis? Okay, maybe Denver, Chicago, or L.A. Possibly somewhere on the Eastern Seaboard) recently hosted a family night to help people learn how to summon and trap demons. Who needs Monopoly or Uno when you have the entire Realm of Darkness to play in? “No, kids, we’re not playing ‘Sorry’ tonight! Andy, you put the dishes away. Cindy, get your crayons and draw us a pentagram on the basement floor. Honey? Do you have dessert ready?”

Sheesh.

This past Saturday, the center hosted Tamar Ettun, an artist who specializes in creating demon traps. Yep, that’s a thing. According to a report in Alpha News, this was the event description:

Demons have a bad reputation, but maybe we’re just not very good at getting to know them. Families are invited to create a vessel to trap the demon that knows them best — perhaps the ‘demon of overthinking’ — and then participate in a playful ceremony to summon and befriend their demon. After designing your trap, Lilit the Empathic Demon will come from the dark side of the moon to lead you in locating your feelings using ancient Babylonian techniques. This collective and playful demon summoning session will conclude with a somatic movement meditation, designed to help you befriend your shadows. (sic)

Forget “Candy Land,” let’s make a demon trap! Didn’t anybody see the original “Ghostbusters”? Summoning demons using ancient Babylonian techniques never ends well.

And here’s the best part! The Walker Center receives money from the taxpayers!

Here is Alpha News on Etten's last exhibit in NYC:

The exhibition parts with the historical gender binarism that associates Lilith’s archetype with unchecked violence and manipulation; here, Lilit mediates the inner demons and renegade instincts that are deliberately silenced,” the exhibition details read. One image shows Ettun washing what appears to be a placenta with a watering can.

There is an old saying: “I don’t know much about art, but I know what I like.” Well, I do happen to know a few things about art, and this isn’t art. This is someone working out some serious issues. With a watering can. If we’re really being honest, I don’t know what the hell it is. (Pun intended. Yell at me in the comments section.)

Not everyone thought this would make a good family activity:

Via “Summit News”:

As C.S. Lewis observed it is dangerous to become too fascinated with demons. But it is equally dangerous to ignore them, and one does so at one’s peril. After all, demons operate by deception. Demons know that if people truly understood what they really were, no one would get within ten city blocks of them. So they pretend to be innocuous. Demons portray themselves as helpful, playful, misunderstood creatures that just got a bad rap for being freethinkers. They only want to expand your mind and let you express yourself. Worse yet, they may be able to convince you that they are metaphorical. And you may believe that until you become a slave to all that free thought and self-expression and can’t even recognize yourself in a mirror. It may be a game to Ettun and the misguided families who showed up for this event. But to the demons, it’s deadly serious.
