‘Death to America’ Mayor Insists That ‘Dearborn is a City of Proud Americans,’ Convinces No One

The alarming scene that unfolded last Friday in Dearborn, Mich., with Muslim protesters chanting “Death to America,” has resulted in some fallout for the city’s mayor, Abdullah Hammoud. While Old Joe Biden and his henchmen are happily taking a wrecking ball to the former Land of the Free and Home of the Brave, they don’t go around telegraphing their intentions.

Their friends in Dearborn were a bit too forthright about what the ultimate goal of the policies that the left and their Islamic allies really are, so reassuring words had to be uttered and the public put back to sleep. Hammoud found, however, that at least some people had been jolted away much too rudely for that to be possible.

Hammoud entreated the world Monday not to believe its lying eyes, but to heed his soothing words instead. “Over the weekend,” he wrote, “video emerged of a rally in Dearborn where some attendees were chanting statements that were unacceptable and contrary to the heart of the city. We reject all inflammatory and violent statements made at the gathering.” That was a swell disavowal, but it was glaring that Hammoud said nothing about investigating the people involved.

Instead, the earnest young mayor continued, “Dearborn is a city of proud Americans; the hateful rhetoric heard on Friday does not reflect the opinion of the members of this community." The Dearborn community stands for peace and justice for all people. We are proud to call this city and this country home.” While he intended this to tamp down the controversy, it only ended up making matters worse, because Hammoud’s description of Dearborn diverged so widely from what is generally known about the city.

Back in February, the Wall Street Journal had an op-ed noting that “a local headline describing an Oct. 10 event at the Ford Performing Arts Center read, "Michigan rally cheers Hamas attack.’” It quoted Imam Imran Salha of the Islamic Center of Detroit in Dearborn calling for the “demise” of Israel. Another Dearborn-area imam, Usama Abdulghani, “called Oct. 7 ‘one of the days of Allah’ and a ‘miracle come true.’ He described the attackers as ‘honorable.’”

In response to all that and much more, Hammoud didn’t denounce the Hamas supporters or affirm his city’s rejection of jihad violence. Instead, he went into full victim mode, announcing that Dearborn police would “ramp up its presence across all places of worship and major infrastructure points. This is a direct result of the inflammatory @WSJ opinion piece that has led to an alarming increase in bigoted and Islamophobic rhetoric online targeting the city of Dearborn. Stay vigilant.”

It's understandable, in light of all this, that Hammoud’s new claim that Dearborn is just packed with “proud Americans” was received with extreme skepticism. Historian and journalist Daniel Greenfield responded by pointing out an uncomfortable fact: “you've taken part in rallies with terrorist supporters, do you disavow Osama Siblani who called Hamas and Hezbollah ‘freedom fighters’?" Greenfield has noted that Siblani “had previously told the Washington Post that, ‘Mr. Bush believes Hezbollah, Hamas, and other Palestinian factions are terrorists, but we believe they are freedom fighters’” and that Hammoud had appeared at rallies with Siblani.

An Israeli, Michael Elgort, quoted a lengthy statement from Hammoud on Oct. 8, 2023, and addressed the mayor: “This you justifying October 7 and saying Israel has it coming?... Your tweet is totally in line with the message you pretend to condemn now, so nah, this hateful rhetoric does reflect your opinion.”

The popular X account LeftismForU responded in a similar vein: “Your history and your city's constant explicit hatred for America/Western society, support for terrorism, and calls for violence against those who don't conform to your radical and immoralistic [sic] views says otherwise. Another popular X writer, Alaskan Tequila, wrote: “Okay. You pretend to reject that hateful and violent rhetoric and we’ll pretend that we don’t know what taqiyya is.”

Educator and writer David Bashevkin observed acidly, “Weird I’ve never been to a rally for Israel that spontaneously broke out with chants calling for the death of America.”

It looks as if one bland X post from Abdullah Hammoud isn’t going to undo the damage that was done to Dearborn’s image last Friday. For two decades now, Americans who have been warning about Islam’s political, supremacist, and violent aspects have been demonized, vilified, and marginalized as “Islamophobes.” But Muslims such as those who were chanting “Death to America” in Dearborn last Friday just keep on proving them right.

Racist Mayor: Akron, Ohio’s Shammas Malik

Pakistani Muslim wins mayoral election by 97%. Accuses the city of racism.
START AT 3:57 MARK

Akron, Ohio’s first Pakistani Muslim mayor, is convinced that America is racist.

Despite winning a challenging mayoral election by 97% in which he was the only candidate on the ballot after the Republican candidate was disqualified, Shammas Malik has never stopped talking about how racism is everywhere in the country and the city that elected him.

“He’s going to be the face of equity and diversity,” a Malik ally claimed.

The face of diversity believes that everything about Akron, including its Innerbelt defunct highway system, is racist. “The choice to build the Innerbelt is a great example of systemic racism,” he claimed. “Projects like the Innerbelt explain our sickening racial wealth gap,” he contended elsewhere. And “one great example” of Akron’s racism, he lectured, was the Innerbelt which “was designed to help suburban commuters get to downtown Akron quicker.”

Malik’s solution to most problems, from highways to law enforcement, is to blame racism.

In 2022, Jayland Walker, who had led police on a chase the previous night, shot at officers and then tried to flee while wearing a ski mask, was shot and killed leading to BLM race riots.

Malik showed up at a protest against the grand jury’s refusal to indict the 8 police officers for shooting a man in a ski mask who had opened fire at them and was reaching into his waistband and then raising his arm before they finally opened fire on the suicidal man.

“There can be no justification for the brutal amount of force in the video of Jayland’s last moments,” Malik insisted while not making it clear what the correct amount of force police should use when they think a man wearing a ski mask in June is about to shoot at them.

Malik started his time in office by appointing a Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and doubling down on his claim that the country and the city are deeply racist hellholes.

“The very real history of racism in America is more than just history, it shapes the systems and institutions around us today,” Malik claimed.

These are the same systemically racist institutions which allowed Shammas Iqbal Qammar Malik, the 32-year-old son of a Pakistani immigrant, to head one of the largest cities in Ohio. Institutions so deeply racist that they elevated him above all the other white primary candidates and then gifted him an uncontested election after less than four years on the City Council.

Malik claimed that the “history of racism means that the race of a baby born in Akron today will have a huge impact on their life experience – from the likelihood that they will live past infancy, to the amount of money they will earn in a lifetime.” What did Malik’s own race determine?

Mayor Shammas Malik’s father, a Pakistani immigrant who used different names, left him and his American mother, a liberal University of Akron professor, had other secret kids, and was later arrested for wire fraud and impersonating an Air Force officer.

Despite that, both Malik and his brother Najim were able to intern in the Senate. Malik went on to intern at the Department of Defense, attend Harvard Law School and get the highest possible position in city government after only a few years on the job.

That is how incredibly racist America and Akron are.

As a student, Shammas Malik had been a member of the terrorist-linked Muslim Student Association before graduating to intern at the terrorist-linked Muslim Public Affairs Council. Multiple MSA leaders and officials have gone on to fight for Al Qaeda and other Islamic terrorist groups. MPAC’s leaders have defended Hamas as well as other Islamic terrorist groups.

After working as a government and policy intern for MPAC, Malik moved on to the leftist Center for American Progress and then as an intern in the Pentagon’s legal office working on federal litigation involving national security and military commissions trials for Al Qaeda terrorists.

And he has learned one thing from all his experiences. America is terrible.

Malik Shammas claimed that America “killed thousands of civilians through drones and airstrikes across Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, etc. across the last 20 years – feeding into the recruitment of horrific terror groups like Al-Qaeda and ISIS.”

White people like his mother and her family, an environmentalist who married his wealthy Pakistani dad, according to Malik, have far too much money because of systemic racism.

“White families have almost 10 times as much wealth as black families, in large part because of systemic barriers that prevent black families from accessing home ownership and creating intergenerational wealth,” Shammas Malik argued.

One reason Shammas Malik is the mayor is that he dominated the Democrat party mayoral primaries by outraising all the other candidates with over $300,000: a record setting amount for a local election. Wealth is evil and racist except when it comes from his old law firm.

Malik claimed that white people suffer from “implicit bias” to be remedied by critical race theory.

“The reason we need true and accurate teaching of race in school is because there’s unconscious bias,” Malik argued. “When folks talk about critical race theory being taught in public schools, we know by now that they’re not actually talking about critical race theory,” he argued another time. “What they’re alarmed about is a more honest, fuller accounting of race in our history.”

By “our history”, he doesn’t mean the incredibly racist system in Pakistan where a foreigner of another religion would never have a chance at a top position, and would be lucky not to be killed for even trying, but in the country that gave him every possible opportunity and advantage.

During the pandemic, Malik’s priority was racism. “Certainly it will be very important to find out how much race and class plays into this virus, here and nationwide,” he urged.

After the Supreme Court outlawed racial discrimination in college admissions (known by the misleading name of ‘affirmative action’), Malik, a Harvard Law alum, complained that, “systemic racism is real." To fix it, we have to be willing to acknowledge the problem in the first place. Today’s decision is a huge step backwards in the fight for freedom and justice for all people.”

Even the rising crime caused by pro-crime activists like him, was blamed on systemic racism.

“Like many cities, Akron is facing a crisis of gun violence, with 26 homicides so far this year, as well as necessary calls for reimagining our policing and oversight processes to address systemic racism and increase public trust,” the future mayor contended.

Ending the murders would require empowering the police to fight crime. Instead, Mayor Shammas Malik appointed a new DEI director and blamed systemic racism and the cops.

There was a time when immigrants would be grateful for the opportunities of this country, but many have since learned that it’s much more effective to be ungrateful and hateful instead.

“The vote for someone who is not a traditional white male profile is something that we as a community should celebrate,” a Malik ally claimed.

In politics and in so many other areas, merely not being white is its own achievement. And by being only half-white, Malik has achieved half of something.

Dearborn, MICHIGAN Named ‘America’s Jihad Capital,’ Mayor and Biden Respond About the Way You’d Expect

AP Photo/John Locher
The Wall Street Journal did everyone a service Friday by publishing an op-ed entitled “Welcome to Dearborn, America’s Jihad Capital: Imams and politicians in the Michigan city side with Hamas against Israel and Iran against the U.S.” This was an eyebrow-raising exposition by Steven Stalinsky of the indispensable Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) of how numerous Islamic leaders and other public figures in Dearborn have openly supported Hamas, which the State Department still officially considers to be a jihad terror group. Instead, however, of concern about open support for terror in Dearborn, the article has given rise to concerns — expressed even by the Biden regime — about “Islamophobia.”

The whole incident has been an illustration of how stigmatized honest discussion about the jihad threat has become in the U.S. today, after well over twenty years of relentless propaganda from government and law enforcement officials, as well as from the establishment media, about how such discussion is an unacceptable manifestation of hate. Stalinsky himself, after the firestorm began, was put into the unenviable position of having to insist, “Nothing in my article was written to instigate any sort of hate.”

Indeed, but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t any hate in the article. It was just all coming from the other side. Stalinsky’s article notes that “a local headline describing an Oct. 10 event at the Ford Performing Arts Center read, "Michigan rally cheers Hamas attack.’” He shows Imam Imran Salha of the Islamic Center of Detroit in Dearborn calling for the “demise” of Israel, which, if it ever happened, would result in the murders of millions of Israelis.

Stalinsky also points out that another Dearborn-area imam, Usama Abdulghani, “called Oct. 7 ‘one of the days of Allah’ and a ‘miracle come true.’ He described the attackers as ‘honorable.’ He said they were ‘lions’ defending ‘the entire nation of Muhammad the messenger.’” Also, “the Islamic Center of America, a leading Dearborn mosque, held a memorial service on Dec. 30 for a Hezbollah operative killed in an Israeli airstrike.

The Hadi Institute, which runs an Islamic Montessori school and bills itself as a youth community center, held a “Commemoration of the Martyrs” on Jan. 5. This event honored Quds Force Commander Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, leader of the Iran-backed Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq.” All this and more, Stalinsky says, makes for “a moment for counterterrorism officials to be concerned.”

There is, however, no indication that they are. The Journal’s article has enraged city officials, not because the city is a hotbed of support for jihad violence, but because it has been exposed as such. Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud, whose most self-righteous victimhood mode is fully activated, announced Saturday: “Effective immediately - Dearborn police will ramp up their presence across all places of worship and major infrastructure points." This is a direct result of the inflammatory @WSJ opinion piece that has led to an alarming increase in bigoted and Islamophobic rhetoric online targeting the city of Dearborn. Stay vigilant.”

This was pure grandstanding. There had been no threats anywhere in Dearborn; if there had been, Hammoud certainly would have said so. He was simply indulging in the left’s tried-and-true propaganda technique of equating dissident speech with violence and treating it as incitement (while steadfastly ignoring actual calls for violence and real attacks committed by leftists).

Related: Old Joe Biden Has a New Nickname, and This One Isn’t Funny At All

And if any leftists are claiming victimhood and accusing their opponents of “hate speech,” Old Joe Biden can’t be far away. The leftist wonk who runs his X account declared on Sunday, “Americans know that blaming a group of people based on the words of a small few is wrong. That’s exactly what can lead to Islamophobia and anti-Arab hate, and it shouldn’t happen to the residents of Dearborn – or any American town. We must continue to condemn hate in all forms.”

Whoever was putting this unctuous and hypocritical twaddle into hateful Old Joe’s mouth didn’t mention the WSJ article, but that was the only instance of “Islamophobia” the noble people of Dearborn are dealing with, so his intention was unmistakable. It’s unusual for the president of the United States, even a figurehead like Old Joe, to comment on a newspaper article that has nothing to do with himself or his policies, but the Biden regime is deeply worried about the defection of the Muslim bloc from the left’s coalition over the regime’s putative support for Israel. And so Old Joe and his henchmen are playing the “Islamophobia” card wherever and whenever they can.

Amid all this controversy, one question remains unanswered and totally ignored: is Dearborn really America’s jihad capital? Should its mayor be more concerned about that than about clamping down on criticism? The consequences of ignoring that question, after all, could be explosive.

Mayor ramps up security after Dearborn is dubbed ‘America’s jihad capital,’ whines about ‘Islamophobic rhetoric’

Abdullah Hammoud is in full victimhood mode, complaining about “Islamophobic rhetoric,” but note what he isn’t doing: he isn’t saying that the Wall Street Journal article is false. Nor is he addressing the contention that Dearborn is America’s jihad capital. Instead, he is deflecting attention away from the claims in the article by claiming, without a shred of evidence, that the article endangers places of worship and major infrastructure points in Dearborn. One might almost get the impression that he doesn’t want to address the problem of jihad activity in Dearborn. How strange!

“Michigan city ramps up security after op-ed calls it ‘America’s jihad capital,'” Associated Press, February 4, 2024:

DEARBORN, Mich. — Dearborn, Michigan, is ramping up its police presence in response to fallout from an opinion piece that described the city, which has the nation’s highest Muslim population per capita, as “America’s jihad capital.”

Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud on Friday tweeted that city police increased security at places of worship and major infrastructure points as a “direct result” of a Wall Street Journal opinion piece titled, “Welcome to Dearborn, America’s Jihad Capital.”

Hammoud posted on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter, that the item published Friday “led to an alarming increase in bigoted and Islamophobic rhetoric online targeting the city of Dearborn.”

Steven Stalinsky, executive director of the Middle East Media Research Institute, who authored the opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal, said in an interview with The Associated Press that he wanted to draw attention to protests in Michigan and elsewhere across the U.S. in which people have expressed support for Hamas since the start of the war with Israel….

“Nothing in my article was written to instigate any sort of hate,” Stalinsky said. “This is a moment for counterterrorism officials to be concerned.”…

In a tweet referencing Dearborn on Saturday, President Joe Biden condemned “hate in all forms.”

“Americans know that blaming a group of people based on the words of a small few is wrong,” Biden’s post read. “That’s exactly what can lead to Islamophobia and anti-Arab hate, and it shouldn’t happen to the residents of Dearborn – or any American town.”

Mayor Eric Adams’s Electronic Devices Seized By FBI

As part of an intensified corruption probe against New York City mayor Eric Adams’ 2021 campaign, the FBI confiscated electronic devices, including two or more cell phones, according to a New York Times (NYT) article published on Friday.

It comes after an FBI search of the residence of Adams’s primary campaign fundraiser, Brianna Suggs, which occurred earlier this month. During this period, investigators allegedly seized three cell phones and two laptop systems.

Prior reports claimed that Adams and his campaign staff had frequently turned down requests from authorities to reveal the source of around $300,000 in donations, however, it was unclear if this investigation included any allegations of breaking campaign finance laws.

The NYT described how FBI agents took “at least two cellphones and an iPad” that belonged to Adams earlier this week. This was days after the November 2nd raid that took place at 25-year-old Brianna Suggs’ residence.

The outlet was informed by insider sources that when agents approached Adams on the street, they ordered his security detail to move aside. They then entered his car and took the devices with the permission of a warrant that was granted by the court.

The document also stated that he received all of the equipment back “within a matter of days” and that the FBI was able to duplicate the data on the devices thanks to the warrant.

Adams, a former captain in the New York Police Department, released a statement through his spokesperson on Friday afternoon expressing how he had cooperated with authorities.

“As a former member of law enforcement, I expect all members of my staff to follow the law and fully cooperate with any sort of investigation, and I will continue to do that,” Adams said. “I have nothing to hide.”

Boyd Johnson, his campaign attorney, also posted a statement of his own.

“After learning of the federal investigation, it was discovered that an individual had recently acted improperly. In the spirit of transparency and cooperation, this behavior was immediately and proactively reported to investigators,” Johnson said.

However, he did not elaborate further on just who the individual was or what they had done specifically that was illegal.

One detail that was shared with reporters was how the investigation now serves to discover if Adams’s 2021 campaign efforts “conspired with the Turkish government and others to funnel money into its coffers.”

The warrant also stated that it was looking for information on donations made by Bay Atlantic University, a Turkish-founded college in Washington, D.C., which is connected to a school that Adams is rumored to have visited during his 2015 trip to Turkey as the president of the Brooklyn Borough Council.

The City, a local news website in New York City, stated that the donations that were claimed earlier to be under investigation were from about 500 distinct individuals.

“The campaign has responded to every notice from [the campaign finance board] as appropriate,” said Vito Pitta, Adams’s campaign counsel.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams’ campaign suspected of conspiring with Turkish government to receive illegal foreign donations

If Adams were acting as an agent to advance the interests of the government of Turkey, what would he be doing? Or more precisely, if Adams were not making decisions while considering what is good for the government of Turkey, what would he be doing differently?

“U.S. Investigating Whether Adams Received Illegal Donations From Turkey,” Dnyuz, November 2, 2023:

Federal prosecutors and the F.B.I. are conducting a broad public corruption investigation into whether Mayor Eric Adams’s 2021 election campaign conspired with the Turkish government to receive illegal foreign donations, according to a search warrant obtained by The New York Times.

The investigation burst into public view on Thursday when federal agents conducted an early-morning raid at the Brooklyn home of the mayor’s chief fund-raiser, Brianna Suggs. Ms. Suggs is a campaign consultant who is deeply entwined with efforts to advance the mayor’s agenda.

Investigators also sought to learn more about the potential involvement of a Brooklyn construction company with ties to Turkey, as well as a small university in Washington, D.C., that also has ties to the country and to Mr. Adams.

According to the search warrant, investigators were also focused on whether the mayor’s campaign kicked back benefits to the construction company’s officials and employees, and to Turkish officials.

The agents seized three iPhones and two laptop computers, along with papers and other evidence, including something agents identified as a “manila folder labeled Eric Adams,” seven “contribution card binders” and other materials, according to the document.

There was no indication that the investigation was targeting the mayor, and he is not accused of wrongdoing. Yet the raid apparently prompted him to abruptly cancel several meetings scheduled for Thursday morning in Washington, D.C., where he planned to speak with White House officials and members of Congress about the migrant crisis.

Instead, he hurriedly returned to New York “to deal with a matter,” a spokesman for the mayor said.

“The mayor heard of an issue related to the campaign and takes these issues seriously, so wanted to get back to New York as quickly as possible,” Fabien Levy, the deputy mayor for communications, said in a statement Thursday evening. “He plans to return to D.C. and reschedule these meetings as soon as he can.”

The warrant suggested that some of the foreign campaign contributions were made as part of a straw donor scheme, where donations are made in the names of people who did not actually give money. Investigators sought evidence to support potential charges that included the theft of federal funds and conspiracy to steal federal funds, wire fraud and wire fraud conspiracy, as well as campaign contributions by foreign nationals and conspiracy to make such contributions.

Mr. Adams has boasted of his ties to Turkey, most recently during a flag-raising he hosted for the country in Lower Manhattan last week. The mayor said that there were probably no other mayors in New York City history who had visited Turkey as frequently as he has.

“I think I’m on my sixth or seventh visit,” he said. At least one of those visits happened while he was Brooklyn borough president when the government of Turkey underwrote the excursion, The Daily News reported….

Muslim mayors of Dearborn and Hamtramck, Michigan says there can be no peace with Israel

Imagine not being sickened by the atrocities Hamas committed, and continuing to side with them. This is because the Qur’an states: “Muhammad is the apostle of Allah. Those who follow him are ruthless to unbelievers, merciful to one another.”

“Mayor of America’s First Muslim Majority City Council Declares ‘No Peace’ With Israel,” by Jack Montgomery, National Pulse, October 11, 2023:

The Mayor of Hamtramck – America’s first Muslim-majority city council – Amer Ghalib, responded to the past week’s events in the Middle East with a pro-Hamas message insisting: “Peace can never coexist with occupation and injustice, anywhere and at any time ، no matter how strong the oppressor or how weak the oppressed is!”…

There are similar issues elsewhere in Michigan, with Dearborn’s Mayor Abdullah Hammoud responding to the Hamas attack with a long social media post suggesting the mass murder of Israeli civilians was the “inevitable” consequence of the “occupation”.
