Rosaria Butterfield: Lesbian Women’s Studies Professor “Comes to Christ”

ONCE CATHOLIC, SHE TRANSITIONS AGAIN, AS THE SPIRIT MOVES HER? NO ONE "COMES" TO CHRIST:

No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day. (John 6:44)

Jesus uttered some very solemn words: “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him,” emphasizing man’s helplessness and utter inability to respond to Him apart from God’s sovereign call. Unbelievers are unable to come to Jesus on their own initiative. If God did not irresistibly draw sinners to Christ, no one would ever come to Him.

In today's episode, Becket chats with former lesbian women's studies professor Rosaria Butterfield about her story of coming to Christ, sexual orientation as a modern construct, Christian hospitality, and much more. We take a look at three of her books, "The Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert," "Openness Unhindered," and "The Gospel Comes with a House Key." Our conversation will pull you in, encourage and enlighten you. Rosaria brings so much wisdom to the topic of homosexuality. This important episode is a MUST WATCH. After Diane Gaskins’ excellent report exposing Rosaria Butterfield’s documented position on using preferred gender pronouns, she began to quietly and secretly delete sources referencing her position on the subject. We now have evidence of Butterfield editing audio of her more salacious and scandalous comments on the subject, but she hasn’t noted any changes. They have simply been shoved down the memory hole.
After his lies were made known to the public, Ergun Caner quietly began editing or deleting audio and video from the Internet that contained his words. It was a part of a public image rebranding, largely unsuccessful, that ended up popularizing the term, “Canerize” (a term used by James White at AoMin). To Canerize something means to try to make it disappear without any trace or apology.
Butterfield has been quiet since Gaskins’ article was published, content to sit back and let James White stubbornly claim that she was not for preferred gender pronouns and attack Pulpit & Pen and Mrs. Gaskins for what he calls “slander.” We then released audio of Butterfield teaching that which James White categorically denied she ever taught.
Afterward, White released a statement to him from Butterfield claiming that she only changed her view after Obergefell v. Hodges (even though she’s on record after that Supreme Court decision). However, Butterfield has made no public statement repudiating her own views on preferred pronouns and, until days ago, kept the audio on her website.
However, that audio has now been edited. Listen below.
It’s easier just to openly repent and repudiate your position than try to hide your double-mindedness.

ROSARIA BUTTERFIELD ON AUDIO PROMOTING “PREFERRED (TRANSGENDER) PRONOUNS”
IN NAME OF HOSPITALITY

purposes:
Any sensible Christian knows that to assist people’s gender delusions by using the wrong pronoun is a sin. We cannot play pretend in regard to the gender God made them or lie about whether God made them male or female. However, Rosaria Butterfield, who we are beginning to refer to as Lot’s Wife, intentionally provides a [false] theological defense for such an abhorrent practice through her work on “radical hospitality.”
Lot’s wife affectionately looked back at her home in Sodom, and God turned her into a pillar of salt. Rosaria affectionately looks back at her time in Sodom and favorably describes the “hospitality” and “love” of what she calls the “LGBTQ Community.” Explicitly modeling her idea of hospitality from the gay ‘community’ she experienced while a practicing lesbian, Butterfield seeks to instruct the church about how we are to redefine the family, make a safe-space for homosexuals, and lie about whether or not someone is a male or female. Butterfield encourages Christians to follow the model she developed while running an LGBT flop house during her lesbian days.
First, a brief summary. JD Greear, the ‘woke’ president of the SBC (who mocked John MacArthur and encouraged Beth Moore in her rebellion, who said voting for Democrats was “great,” who said Christians and Muslims worship the same God, who recently spent time on stage ‘shaking his booty’ to cheering women while the SBC burns down around him, who called greed ‘equally as sinful’ as homosexuality) recently said that Christians should use the ‘preferred gender pronouns’ of transsexuals. In doing so, he cited the fabulously-named Revoice promoter, Preston Sprinkle, and referred to it as “pronoun hospitality.”
Numerous churches have left the SBC over Greear’s capitulation on this pronoun issue.
Greear is not alone in his capitulation on preferred gender pronouns. Pulpit & Pen reported as early as February 2019 that Phoenix cyclist and popular internet apologist, James White, no longer categorically opposed using preferred gender pronouns (it should not surprise us that he’s been defending Butterfield’s subversive compromises so vehemently).
However, the one laying the theological groundwork for this capitulation on Biblical ethics is Rosaria Butterfield, whose work on ‘hospitality’ has been the driving force in this Judas-movement.
Below is audio uploaded to third party source (in case it is deleted) of Rosaria Butterfield being interviewed with the ultra-woke Cru organization (for more info on that, watch this video).
In the audio, Lot’s Wife explicitly says that using preferred gender pronouns is an act of hospitality. The time-stamp is about the 6.45 mark.
Please notice the ellipses in the transcript. Listen to the audio to hear every important word. And here is the audio if you want it directly from the primary source.
Rosaria: “The gay and lesbian community is a diverse community-absolutely! So we don’t all have one journey into the community, and we didn’t have one story; but a very special person, who was there every time because she was my dear, dear friend-was a transgendered woman-and I call her ‘Jay’ in the book…”
Bob: “…And you use the female pronoun when you refer to Jay. Why do you do that?”
Rosaria: “I do. I do. in fact, I was asked, recently, at a biblical counseling conference why I do that…I would do that today, as a Christian by the way…because you have to meet and respect people where they are. And hospitality is- -I believe it is God’s ordained path for evangelism. In First Corinthians-when God tells us that no temptation will befall you except for that which he will provide a way of escape-I want all of our Christian listeners to know that, from the bottom of my heart, I believe that your home and your church is a way of escape for somebody… -somebody that God has called. But if your door is close or if you can’t get over yourself- and maybe I can talk a little bit about this- You know that we pray, “Lord may there be more of you and less of me.” We as Christians pray for a relinquished life. If that is so, then our churches and our homes are the way of escape-but that has not historically been the truth; right?”
Dennis: “Right. We’ve had a lot of judgmental walls and bars on our homes and our doors at that point.”
Rosaria: “Right; right.”
___
It would be best, if someone has “dug-in” on Rosaria to realize that she is a dangerous teacher who should remain quiet in the churches. Her work has served the LGBTQ agenda. There is no rational dispute of it.

“Rosaria Champagne Butterfield (born 1962) is a writer, speaker, homemaker, and former tenured professor of English at Syracuse University. Butterfield, who earned her Ph.D. from Ohio State University in English Literature, served in the English Department and Women Studies Program at Syracuse University from 1992 to 2002. During her academic career, she published a book, as well as many scholarly articles. Her academic interest was focused on feminist theory, queer theory and 19th century British literature. She achieved tenure in 1999, the same year that she converted to Christianity.
Butterfield is more widely known today for the autobiography she published, “The Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert: An English Professor’s Journey into the Christian Faith,” in which she tells about her transformation from a postmodern lesbian professor to the wife of a Reformed Presbyterian Church pastor and homeschooling mother. Following her religious conversion to Christianity, Butterfield developed a ministry to college students and frequently speaks in churches and universities about her experience. She has taught and ministered at Geneva College. She now lives in Durham, North Carolina with her husband, Kent Butterfield, and their children
She does not identify herself as “ex-gay” and does not think any Christians should identify themselves as “gay Christians.” She notes that “The job of the adjective is to change the noun.” Butterfield has criticized conversion therapy for contending that the “primary goal of Christianity is to resolve homosexuality through heterosexuality, thus failing to see that repentance and victory over sin are God’s gifts and failing to remember that sons and daughters of the King can be full members of Christ’s body and still struggle with sexual temptation.” Butterfield suggests this is a version of the prosperity gospel.”

J.D. Greear, lead pastor of The Summit Church in Durham, N.C., (now president of the Southern Baptist Convention), said Oct. 29 during the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission’s conference, “we have to love our gay neighbor more than we love our position on sexual morality.”

ROSARIA BUTTERFIELD PROMOTES SAM ALLBERY’S THEOLOGY, CATHOLIC PRIEST WHO SAYS GOD IS GAY, & OCCULTIC SCHOLAR

Whenever one mentions the topic of homosexuality around conservative Christians, he or she is usually met with “Have you listened to Rosaria Butterfield? She is holding the line on these issues.” Not being one who relishes an argument, I often sigh inwardly to encounter these comments. I get it. I followed Butterfield as a fan for a time, have read all her books, and have listened to dozens of her lectures and interviews. Over the past few years, however, I have grown increasingly disturbed by a closer examination of what Rosaria Butterfield is actually saying, and particularly by the overt and covert messages in her most recent and highly acclaimed book, The Gospel Comes With a House Key.
Before diving into the topic at hand, let me take a moment to introduce myself and give a road map for this lengthy article. Like Rosaria Butterfield, I am Reformed, a homeschool mom, and a reader. I am simply a Bible-believing sister in the pews, concerned about a movement that I see creeping into churches stealthily and incrementally, which I have named the Same-Sex Attracted (SSA) Movement. The organizations and leaders that have pushed this paradigm-changing movement for the past 5 years are The Gospel Coalition (TGC), The ERLC and Russell MooreLiving OutSam Allberry, and the SBC’s JD Greear, all of which Rosaria has partnered with consistently as an integral spokesperson and writer from the movement’s beginning up until today.
In this article, I will examine Rosaria Butterfield’s core teachings on Same-Sex Attraction (SSA) and highlight the overt problematic teachings in her latest book, The Gospel Comes With a House Key. Then I will show the blasphemous queer theology and occultic teacings this book promotes subversively. Because Rosaria is a skilled, tenured professor of English, and because she repeats the same slogans, again and again, I will rely heavily on quotes in this article to let her speak for herself. It will not be short.
If you know Rosaria Butterfield, you know her conversion story, that she was a lesbian Women’s Studies professor who came to faith through the friendship of her neighbor, pastor Ken Smith. Pastor Smith and his wife Flo showed Rosaria hospitality and “accepted without affirming” her. Pastor Smith never confronted Rosaria’s lesbianism and instead enfolded her into his home and church, where she was converted to faith after a period of years. Rosaria universalizes this approach as the correct way for churches to evangelize and disciple the LGBTQ, and this is the central thrust of her message.
A commonly held misconception is that Rosaria Butterfield has a more careful theology of SSA than her friend Sam Alberry. In fact, Rosaria promotes the very concept of life-long, ‘godly’ SSA celibacy that Sam Alberry seeks to model. This TGC interview, posted at Living Out, is an excellent primer on how similar their teachings actually are.
The interview is just under 20 minutes but includes Rosaria’s key slogans that summarize her message and those of the SSA movement. There is much problematic content in this interview, more than space allows to relay, and discerning readers will want to view it in its entirety.

Born this way—“Because of the fall, we are all born some way”

Rosaria teaches that the fall means we are each born with a particular sinful inclination, and homosexuality is such an inclination. “Homosexuality is an ethical outworking of original sin. Do you know what that means? We’re born that way.”

“We are all messy”—All sins are equal (except unbelief is worse)

Rosaria Butterfield discounts the idea that any sin is more heinous than another: “We should not think of our gay and lesbian neighbors as struggling with something that is different. It is part of the human condition.”
While it is true that any sin is sufficient to merit an eternity in hell, the Bible calls some sins abominations (Lev. 18) and some affections vile (Rom. 1:26). We glorify God when we recoil from those sins according to how they are treated in his word. That is something intolerable in a mindset that believes in the sin of homophobia.
Rosaria wishes to remove the detestable factor from vile affections and instead focus exclusively on unbelief: “Don’t assume that for your gay and lesbian neighbors the worst sin in their life is homosexuality. Maybe their worst sin is unbelief; in fact, that is the higher sin.” “Homosexuality is a fruit of something else. It is symptomatic. If all you do is repent of a sin at it’s surface, it makes it worse.”
Note that at the 5:40 mark Rosaria uses large gestures to mock any believer who would be so ignorant as to harp upon the ‘surface’ sin of vile affections: “What if you are neighbors to lesbians who have been in a committed ‘marriage’ for 50 years and haven’t had sex in twenty years? (Laughter).”
She continues, “You will look like an idiot when you rebuke them for their homosexuality.” (On the subject of humor, also check out Rosaria’s glee while recounting a blasphemous statement she and her lesbian lover displayed at a gay pride march at 1:20.)

Life-long celibacy because “Reparative Therapy is the Prosperity Gospel”

Rosaria Butterfield states, “I do not believe sexual orientation changes are a gospel imperative. I’m on record for saying Reparative therapy is the prosperity gospel. Reparative therapy is a heresy… on this earth God will give one person 10 crosses to bear and another person one.
She continues, “And I think the prosperity gospel is to say ‘No, no give your life to Jesus and all will be well’… what the gospel promises is that if God gives you a heavy cross to bear, the Lord himself will uphold the heavier part, but God forbid Christians weigh on that cross and I think that when we look at orientation change as proof of the gospel we’re actually weighing on that cross… There is a vital need for single, celibate Christians in our churches, in our families, in our world.”
Here is a question for all those who think these slogans wise: Is it the ‘prosperity gospel’ to expect converted KKK marchers to grow out of their desire to lynch? Are we weighing on the ‘cross’ of pedophiles if we expect that at some time in their sanctification they will no longer want to fondle toddlers and instead want a wife? What about those oriented to have sex with barn animals or murder their wives? Wait, what’s that you say? No, of course not, because those are heinous sins out of the norm of mature Christian experience? Abominations? Oh, just checking.

Christians have “deeply oppressed” this victim group—the LGBTQ community must disciple us on this.

Rosaria says, “The gay and lesbian community is a real community and, you know what? The Christian Church has a lot to learn… about standing with the disempowered, accompanying the suffering and being good company for the suffering.
Rosaria came to faith during the AIDS epidemic and has strong memories of “standing with the disempowered.” She says, “I often say to parents who have lost covenantal children to the gay community, ‘You will have to work very hard to love your son and daughter better than the gay community.’”
This is a point that Rosaria stresses to extreme lengths in her recent book and will be touched on more below.
Rosaria Butterfield regularly states she is against the term ‘gay Christian’ because it denotes an identity. But, taking the above points together, if SSA is something one is born with, something God does not necessarily remove for one’s entire life, is a God-given “cross to bear,” and qualifies one to membership in an oppressed “real community,” how is this not an identity, and a God-honoring one at that?

The “Ground Rules of the New Game”

So, what are the implications of this SSA doctrine? What exactly are, to use the words Rosaria used in the above interview, “The ground rules of the new game”? One of the hallmarks of Rosaria’s interviews is that her interviewer is always most curious for her advice to parents and pastors. In this 6 minute interview (also posted below) Rosaria provides her usual advice. She reminds churches that “heterosexuality is not the answer to homosexuality” and that there are people who will struggle with “all manner” of sin, maybe their entire lives.

Rosaria: “Homophobia” is a sin

As you can see in the clip above, Rosaria tells parents that if a child comes to them and says they are gay and have adopted that lifestyle they should respond “In original sin we are all born ‘that way’ whatever ‘that way’ means.”
Her advice to elders and pastors is they must “understand that homosexuality is a sin, but so is homophobia.” What about church members who are living in a gay lifestyle? These brothers and sisters are to be gently taken aside and reminded that their witness needs to be consistent with their profession.

Rosaria: Do not preach against homosexuality (which can be ‘vitriolic’), but reach them by “personalized hospitality.”

What does Rosaria Butterfield say about preaching God’s Word against abusers of themselves with mankind and vile affections? She believes the best way for us to reach our “LGBTQ neighbors” is through personalized hospitality.
She believes “the strength of our words must never exceed the strength our relationships (Housekey 55)” and that believers are often “vitriolic in the worship of God about what is right and what is wrong.”
Rosaria states, “We need to share the gospel and we need to stop adding to the gospel. And what I mean by that is we need to share the gospel of hope in Jesus, not rant about anal sex… that can be very distracting” (source).
(Elsewhere I have discussed the SSA movement’s push to remove the revolting image of male sodomy from our minds.)
But how does one preach from the Bible on this sin without mentioning sodomy? Rosaria is Reformed, yet she states that “We need to stop making moral proclamations instead of gospel invitations.”
Has she forgotten that the Holy Spirit uses the law of God to pierce stony hearts and drive desperate sinners to the cross? Has she forgotten that to the ones whom God gives regeneration the law of God is sweeter than honey? Why would she mute God’s moral law? Does she not love sinners?
Lest pastors be tempted to preach from Biblical narratives, Rosaria Butterfield frequently explains that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by God not for sodomy but for their greater sins of “neglect of the poor and needy.”
In her recent book, Rosaria states that many who have crossed over to fully embrace the LGBTQ do so because they are “sick and tired of seeing their friends and family members who identify as LGBTQ made into straw men or women” or treated as “political enemies or caricatures in conversations after the sermon, or, even more horrifically, in the sermon. They wish to be an ally… they want their friends to have the same rights they do. They don’t wish to be a bigot or associate with bigots… the job of an ally is to make the cross lighter (Housekey 57).”
Rosaria Butterfield reminds us that the Bible “does not condone bigotry. It does not condone gay jokes, which are never funny.” By the way, this is a good time to recall from the above interview that Rosaria does permit and enjoy jokes against the idea of a God who judges and against Christians who rebuke vile affections. She continues, “It (the Bible) does not condone talking about people instead of listening to them. Our lack of genuine hospitality to our neighbors-all of them, including neighbors in the “LGBTQ community” is a violent form of neglect for their souls (Housekey, 57).

Rosaria: Hospitality requires following “community rules”—like “wife” for lesbian partners and “husband” for gay partners, etc.

Rosaria states that with her LGBTQ friends she treads carefully and respects the “community rules.” She is sure to “know who is mommy and who is momma” (the way a child with two lesbian parents refers differently to each one) and teaches her children to respect that distinction as well. She speaks to her neighbors with ‘respect’ asking “are you wives or partners?” (Housekey 53)
As an example of “hospitality evangelism,” Rosaria Butterfield describes a conversation with a lesbian neighbor who was crying to her because her partner finds her ugly. Rosaria’s response? “Jesus would never treat you like this. Jesus treats his daughters perfectly.” She adds, “Do I have the grace to say this little or do I always have to say all there is to say on a subject? If so, I have become a brute and a boar” (Housekey, 54).
If you have read Sam Alberry’s The Living Out Audit, all of this mandated sensitivity will have an eerily familiar ring. Because I move in circles where Rosaria’s sensitivity training holds sway, when I first read Audit, I immediately recognized it as a codification of all she has already been scolding us about for years.
Rosaria has not yet “counted as loss” (Philippians 3:8) her lesbian past. Rosaria is normalizing and glorifying what the church has for millennia considered to be an abomination and vile affections. Nowhere is this more vivid than when reading her most recent book. One rarely encounters a page that does not have a glowing endorsement of the “LGBTQ community” and a vilification of any believer who would do things differently than “the ground rules of the new game” (see the first video, linked above for source).

Sounding like Lot’s wife

Rosaria Butterfield’s The Gospel Comes With a House Key is a book about what she calls “radical hospitality.” In it, Rosaria promotes the kind of hospitality she enjoyed back in her “LGBTQ community” days. She presents this hospitality as the way for churches to evangelize and disciple our LGBTQ neighbors. Over and again she boasts of “the LGBTQ community I belonged to.”

For example, Rosaria wrote, “The idea that our houses are hospitals and incubators was something I learned in my lesbian community in New York in the 1990s. We knew that our traditional, so-called Christian neighbors despised and distrusted us and regarded us as abominations. So we set out to be the best neighbors on the block. We gathered in our people close daily, and we said to each other, ‘This house, this habitus, is a hospital and an incubator, we help each other heal… we duplicated many house keys and made sure that everyone had one. We meant what the key implied: you have access anytime (94).’”

Therefore, Rosaria Butterfield says if we want to evangelize our LGBTQ neighbors the gospel must come with a house key. Dozens of times, Rosaria repeats the mantra “Radical hospitality seeks to make strangers neighbors and neighbors the family of God.”

She also speaks of “Christian brothers and sisters who struggle with unchosen homosexual desires and longings, sensibilities and affections, temptations and capacities… some people have more to lose than others…. people who live with unanswered questions and unfulfilled life dreams” and asks, “What is your responsibility toward those brothers and sisters? The gospel must come with a house key” (95).

A defiant substitute for family

Of course, for Rosaria’s much admired “LGBTQ community”, this sort of all-access hospitality was a defiant substitute for God’s idea of family. Yet she sets this up as the Christian standard. In one interview she mentions the very real possibility of someone dying of loneliness (clip below) and urges every Christian family to devote a spare room in their house for live-in celibate LGBTQ friends as a way to help them shoulder their “cross.”
This whole message is anti-family and corresponds neatly with Sam Alberry’s “idolatry of family” message. In fact, Alberry’s presentation at the ERLC conference, The Church as the Family of God,  borrowed extensively from Rosaria and was based on her book.
Rosaria Butterfield describes in detail her pattern of “checking her privilege” and having a “no-invitation,” open home 7 nights a week and all day Sunday. Strangely, she also reports holding nightly prayer meetings at her home with unsaved neighbors participating. Her book teaches that every meal for a Christian should be one of either giving or receiving hospitality and compares this to tithing (Housekey, 37). She describes “radical hospitality” as our spiritual armor allowing us access to people’s broken hearts (Housekey, 40), and mandates daily open homes for every Christian family (Housekey, 36). Where is Rosaria getting these ideas?

Not so transparent

Before moving on to answer that question, I need to pause for a minute to comment on the stark contradiction of Rosaria Butterfield’s endless applause for “the tenacious, consistent and sacrificial work of the LGBTQ community (Housekey, 94),” her invariable portrayal of lesbian monogamy, and her laments for the SSA brothers and sisters that must ‘leave all the love’ to become Christians. This is the part of the article makes me want to cry…
In the middle of Rosaria’s last book she writes of her abusive and sexually traumatic childhood, a subject far removed from her usual themes. Here she describes two alcoholic parents who kept Playgirl and Playboy in the bathroom, a domineering mother, a heroin addict brother who masturbated on the family room couch, and a beloved gay cousin who posed for Playgirl and opened a gay bar. It was this bar where Rosaria was dragged as a young girl and where she recounts seeing drag queens, sodomites in cages, and a lesbian embrace that made her experience a tingling in her whole body that “took her breath away.” She recounts “these images shocked and seduced me. I longed to recapture them, and shuddered at the possibility. I knew one thing about this place. It was dark and it was drawing me” (Housekey, 71).
Now that is the LGBTQ community hospitality at work. Who could wonder why Rosaria Butterfield grew up to be a lesbian and why oh why is this snake pit of child abuse and horrors not front and center to her message? Why does she continuously portray Sodom as a loving, nurturing, relational, place and pity those who must leave it and pine for the lost love all their days?
Furthermore, this account is not consistent with Rosaria Butterfield’s typical testimony, such as the one she gave at Ligonier, that describes “what I believed to be a completely heterosexual adolescence. In college, I met my first boyfriend and it was a heady experience. And at the same time, this strange and slightly indiscernible undercurrent of longing inserted itself in my intense friendships with women. I didn’t make much of this at first and so from the age of 22 until 28, I continued to date men. And at the same time, I felt a sense of longing and connection that simply toppled over the edges for my women friends.”
Note the relational, organic, and benign description of Rosaria’s lesbian temptations here compared to the more pornographic origins recounted above. But of course, the top story doesn’t fit so well with “we are all born some way” and “reparative therapy is the prosperity gospel.”

Concentric circles, mysticism, and the horrific list

Reading Rosaria Butterfield’s The Gospel Comes With a House Key was a disorienting ride for me, and not merely for the category confusion and the radical indoctrination. There were also regular mentions of mysticism, contemplative prayer terminology, and the use of strange mantras.
In the opening chapter of the book Rosaria states “In the morning I pray in concentric circles.” Chapter two is heavily loaded with unorthodox terminology (“The Jesus Paradox,” “The Contagion of Grace”) that swirl in circles not clearly defined. The title of the chapter is “The Jesus Paradox,” and when I did a google search I found that to be a technical term for Contemplative Prayer and Zen meditation. For details, see this contemplative prayer site run by Franciscan Priest Richard Rohr.

Rosaria writes strange lines such as, “Only in the Jesus paradox do these incongruous ideas come together (Housekey, 35),” “Jesus can set in motion a contagion of grace,” “The Jesus paradox manifests contagious grace (30),” “hospitality is image-bearer driven because Christ’s blood pumps me whole” (Housekey, 64). She also repeats the high and holy name of the second person of the trinity like a mantra in this chapter.
In chapter three Rosaria praises Henri Nouwen, “the late and gentle Catholic priest” who ran a center for disabled persons and “regarded hospitality as a spiritual movement, one that is possible only when loneliness finds its spiritual refreshment in solitude, when hostility resolves itself in hospitality, and when illusion is manifested in prayer (62).” Twice in the book, Rosaria recommends to her readers the wisdom of Henri Nouwen.
When one reads to the back of Rosaria Butterfield’s book they will encounter a list of books she recommends to her readers, and what a ghastly brew it is.
Rosaria’s reading list begins with Sam Alberry, includes John Calvin, and has contemplative gurus, occult feminists, and queer theologians sprinkled in the mix. In this list Henri Nouwen is again introduced. Henri Nouwen can also be found in Sam Alberry’s Living Out Curriculum, a curriculum that also incorporates Rosaria Butterfield’s teaching.
The Nouwen quotation displayed there is from a letter he wrote to a young gay man and reads, “Thank you so much for the expression of your desire and hope. You know already that the young, attractive, affectionate, caring, intelligent, spiritual and socially conscious gay man has only one name: God!” (Henri JM Nouwen, Love, Henri, p.346).

Blasphemy. Heresy. It’s as bad as anything at RevoiceWorse. After reading both the Nouwen book Rosaria Butterfield recommends (Reaching Out: The Three Movements of the Spiritual Life), and the book from which the above quote is drawn, the mist has lifted and I am now able to fully answer the question “Where is Rosaria getting all this?” Rosaria Butterfield’s hospitality theology, many of her themes and mantras, the framework for the entire SSA celibate queer movement as well as many of the talking points over at Living Out and Russell Moore’s ERLC SSA panels are regurgitations of that blasphemous Roman Catholic priest, Zen guru, Marxist, queer theologian, Henri Nouwen.
So who is this man?

Nouwen on homosexuality

Henri Nouwen was obsessed with loneliness due to unfulfilled homosexual longings and cravings for affection and friendship. He was thought to have perhaps “died of loneliness.” At the same time, he stated he was not ashamed of these longings as “my demons are not really demons but Angels in disguise” (Love, Henri, xv).
Nouwen was interested in helping others find a new way of thinking about sexuality that was based neither on the church, fundamentalism, conservatism, or progressivism (Love, Henri, 105). He engaged in male relationships that were intensely emotionally charged while submitting to a cross of “withholding” that “could be beautiful” (Love, Henri, 125).
At the same time, Nouwen wrote many affirming letters and enjoyed visits with married homosexual friends—gushing about the beauty of their love for each other and his love for them (Love, Henri 74, 104, 138).

Nouwen on spirituality, hospitality, and social justice

Henri Nouwen’s book on spirituality which Rosaria Butterfield recommends is an excellent road map to the pit of hell. It is full of Zen Buddhism and advice like “Delve into yourself for a deep answer (Three Movements, 363), “If we stop telling ourselves the world is such and so it will cease to be so (Three Movements, 801),” and “The mystery of spirituality is that God in us speaks to God” (Three Movements, 251). The book provides many explicit directions for utilizing mantras as a way to enter into “union with God and experience the illumination of enlightenment” (Three Movements, 96).
Nouwen was a universalist Zen master and instructor. This is the spirituality path Rosaria Butterfield recommends to the little lambs.

Fascinatingly, Nouwen also wrote extensively on hospitality. His definition of hospitality is a state of acceptance which is the “polar opposite of hostility (Three Movements, 106).” He describes, “Our vocation is to turn the enemy into a guest and to create a fee and fearless space where brotherhood and sisterhood can be fully experienced” (The Three Movements of the Spiritual Life, location 681). Does that sound familar?

Very much like Rosaria, he repeats the slogan that hospitality “renders strangers as guests…” This is the hospitality theology Rosaria Butterfield pretends to have drawn from the scriptures. It echoes the instructions of a blaspheming, Roman Catholic, Zen priest.

Marx, Freud, and the Bible

Henri Nouwen proudly kept a Bible next to Freud and Marx on his bookshelf (The Three Movements of the Spiritual Life, location 1100). Like Rosaria Butterfield, he was very involved as an advocate for AIDS victims. He was a popular speaker for youth social justice conferences, two of his favorite authors were Jim Wallis and Richard Foster, and he was a frequent contributor to Sojourners (Love Henri, 77). Who is that other Sojourners contributor who wrote the forward to Rosaria Butterfield’s latest book and has platformed her consistently since 2015? Russell Moore you say? What a very small world it is, indeed.

Mary Douglas, witchcraft scholar

Yet another dark book Rosaria Butterfield recommends in her book list is Purity and Danger, an Analysis of Concepts of Pollution and Taboo by the feminist anthropologist Mary Douglas. Here is an excerpt to summarize Douglas’ interests:
“As dirt represents power and creativity, purity stands for rigidity and lack of change. Pollution and dirt form power that can only be harnessed through rituals. Despite the rejection of dirt and pollution by most religions, primitive religions unveil that through paradox and contradiction dirt is needed as part of replacing what has been rejected, incorporating the process of renewal. The necessity of death requires both its rejection and confrontation. These practices expose a realistic approach to life by primitive cultures, who view the world in a unified way where cosmic forces preserve and maintain the social order as part of nature (source).
In the beginning of her book, Douglas relays a wonderful ceremony where a pagan tribe extracts a woman’s pus into a bowl, everyone bows down to worship said pus, then passes the bowl around for each member to drink. Douglas is famous for her unique analysis of Levitical taboos. I could maybe relay more of Mary Douglas’ work, except my conscience forbade me to read past the first chapter: “Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God” (Lev. 19:31). Mary Douglas has written another book, Witchcraft Confessions and Accusations and a quick google search reveals she is an esteemed writer in the “occult community.”
Mary Douglas is one of only two authors in Rosaria Butterfield’s recommended book list who contributes two books. How does Rosaria Butterfield recommend this author in the body of her book?
Rosaria writes, “When I was in graduate school we all devoured Mary Douglas. Her book Purity and Danger: An Analysis of Concepts of Pollution and Taboo was formative to my thinking about insiders and outsiders… Douglas’ essay ‘Deciphering a Meal was instrumental in developing the radical hospitality that knit the lesbian and gay community together…” (Housekey 33).
And later, “I think a lot about Mary Douglas these days as table fellowship is a daily way of life for me” (Housekey, 34).

How can this be?

So an author on the dark arts and a New Age mystic, gay-God priest will now disciple Christians on “radical hospitality?” These are the authors Rosaria Butterfield recommends to the little lambs with nothing but praise? And in the back of a lovely teal book that has graced every conservative catalogue, conference table, and conference circuit in the Reformed world for the past year? How can this be? If this does not qualify as setting an offense before the little ones, what does?
Here at the close of my expose on Rosaria Butterfield I must set forth a final critique so simple yet so needed. She is a woman. Does her past life as a lesbian Freudian Marxist and dabbler in the occult blind us to the obvious? She ought not to be teaching snippets of scripture to women and men. Her ideas do not start with the Bible, and yet she sounds them forth in lectures and interviews as authoritatively as if they were the very oracles of God.
It is painful to relay Rosaria Butterfield’s twisted teachings, but she must be exposed.
God, purify your church and send men unafraid to thunder your holy word from pulpits once more. Amen.

“Seven Things I Believe Jesus Would Say

to the LGBT Community”

“When you give God your heart, he will comb the kinks

out of your life in due time”

The Bible affirms the importance of human relationship and provides wise guidance on how to we can be healthy and happy people here and in eternity. God as our creator madeus as we areknows what is best for us under all circumstances, and made the guidelinesclear in his Word. He also knows what will wreck our lives and bring destruction of body,soul and society.
Was there ever a country taken over as quickly in our lifetime as Crimea was? So quickly did that annexation come that the world could not even get its diplomats in place when for all practical purposes it was over. I cannot recall anything happening as fast as that since studying the sinking of that great ship, the Titanic. Down she went to the bottom in a matter of hours.
We in the Christian Reformed Church have neatly tucked away a very fine denominational position statement on homosexuality, affirming that love, support, and encouragement should be given to those who experience same-sex attractions while maintaining that homosexual practices are “incompatible with obedience to the will of God” as is all other sinful practices. Our statement is clear, but what are we as a Church body and as individuals in that body doing to address the cataclysmic shift taking place in our culture on these matters and actually embracing for ourselves the responsibilities that our statement calls us to, namely addressing with the life changing gospel those overtaken in“explicit and overt homosexual practices.”
One might wonder just how fast is our culture changing? So quickly is this wave overcoming us that only two years ago no major national candidate could win an election who endorsed the gay agenda, [New York Times for 4/6/14] and now the reverse is true. The church as a body and we as individuals have a scriptural obligation to speak to the world on moral issues and not give our silent consent to evil.
I write this simply wanting to begin another denominational conversation, for I have read a great deal, thought and prayed long and hard on this and still do not see clearly either the biblical norms and how they actually apply, nor the way to really reach out in love and effectiveness to those caught within these sinful practices. Pastors have training in handling the other sexual sins, but the sexual sins becoming so dominant today bring in their wake very little counsel so far for helpers and many undiscussed problems to work out. Yet we are biblically commanded to to speak out to warn the wicked to turn from their wicked deeds and lifestyle so that they may live” (NET, Ezek. 3:1). We also hopefully can follow in the steps of Jesus who was able to treat first the heart and then tell his listeners to go and sin no more.
May the following seven things begin to move us to thinking and action. The Lord seems to say in his word to all sinners, and that includes those in the LGBT community:
  1. I love you because I created you and came to save you! (Ps. 86:15; Jo. 3:16; Rom. 5:8; I Jo. 4:8-10). The God of the Bible from ancient times is known as being a loving and compassionate God who is full mercy and love, especially for those who will come to him. Christ, the Son of God, was sent to win the hearts of sinners to God so that they could have a full and free relationship with the Lord for eternity. The reality is that God sent Christ into this world even though all had rebelled against God and no one really on their own sought God’s friendship. When all peoples were still rebels Christ died to save those who would receive Him as their Savior. Christ came to save the lost no matter what they have done or who they are. When that happens, God is both our creator and savior.
  2. I understand rejection for I was rejected (Isa. 53:3; Ezek. 18:21-23; Mt. 26:55-56; Mt. 27; Mk. 3:20-21). Christ Jesus, who came to earth to save sinners, was rejected. He was rejected by his own nation and people. He was rejected by his personal followers, the disciples. He was rejected by the leaders of his country. He was even rejected most of his ministry life by his own family. It was not until he arose from the grave that any of his brothers and sisters believed in him. In fact, the most familiar Old Testament title for him which was carried over into the N.T. was “Man of Sorrows.” Rejection is a horrible and tragic thing to endure, but Jesus said, “Anyone who comes to Me, I will not send away/reject!” (John. 6:37).
  3. I also understand temptation for I was tempted (Heb. 2:17-18; 4:15-16; 12:2-3 7-11). The New Testament book of Hebrews makes a rather strong point that Christ Jesus was seriously tempted in every way just as everyone else is tempted, yet without sin. The Gospels tell the account of Jesus being tempted in the wilderness when he was at his weakest physical condition. To be tempted is not a sin, but the yielding to the temptation is. God’s promise is good for you also: God is faithful who will not allowyou to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear, but will with the temptation alsoprovide a way to escape that you may be able to bear up under it” (I Cor. 10:13).
  4. I understand wanting a different identity (Mt. 26:39; Phil. 2:6-11). All of us at one time or another go through times when either we wish we were someone else, or not who we are. Does it surprise you that Jesus did also? In the reference in Matthew Jesus was in such grief over what was ahead for him that he fell to the ground and begged his Father to make this cup pass from him. The cup was becoming the sacrifice of death for you and me. It seems he would have done anything to switch places and bypass becoming our sin. But he did not! In the verses in Philippians there is a partial description of what Jesus left behind in heaven. I am sure that in a certain sense Jesus experienced some sort of regret as he was leaving heaven for this sinful and mixed-up world to spend 33 1/2 years in a sort of exile. In human terms we would say that a person in such a situation would wish to switch places and let another go in his stead.
  5. I want more for you than just temporary, physical satisfactionfind your joy and satisfaction in Me, your Savior! (Mt. 19:4-6; Eph. 3:17-21; I Tim. 2:4). Neither the Bible nor Jesus do deny the physical pleasures of life. They do tell us that physical pleasures are fleeting and temporary and must be under the control of the laws that God has set up, or the warmth of pleasure will become the fire that burns the house down. The Scriptures also at every turn tell us that the spiritual is eternal and the physical is temporal. That is why Jesus taught and the apostles passed on things like, “Set your affections on things that are above/in the heavens and not on things that are below/only here on this earth” (Col. 3:2). And “The one who sows to the flesh shall reap corruption, but the one who sows to the spirit shall reap everlasting life” (Gal. 6:8).
  6. The sexual sin you are committing is ruining your body and condemning your soul(Gen. 19:1-28; Lev. 18:22, 20:13; Ezek. 16:46-50; Mk. 10:6; Jo. 10:35; Rom. 1:18-27; I Cor. 6:9-10; Jude 7-8). This article is not about tendencies or attractions but rather explicit and overt homosexual relations. The Scripture teaches that marriage is between a man and a woman, and that the sexual relationship is to be expressed within this relationship. Biblical teaching confirms this truth by pointing to the creation ordinance where God made man and woman and declared the two were to become one flesh. All other joining of flesh is looked upon by Scripture and hence the universal church (up until very recent times), as being unnatural (against nature;Rom. 1:26-27) and sinful. The Bible affirms the importance of human relationship and provides wise guidance on how to we can be healthy and happy people here and in eternity. God as our creator made us as we are, knows what is best for us under all circumstances, and made the guidelines clear in his Word. He also knows what will wreck our lives and bring destruction of body, soul and society. Paul said in Romans 1 that sexual sins are “the seeds of destruction and their own ruin to those involved.”
  7. I want the eternal best for you and when you too want that, I will be here for you!(Hos. 14, Rom. 2:4; I Pet. 5:7; 2 Pet. 3:9). The pleading passages of Scripture are too many to list. God is pictured as the one who is asking the question of the nation Israel, Why will you die in your sins?” Jesus is the Savior who says, Come unto me allyou who labor and are heavy laden down with your sins, and I will give you rest foryour soul.” Then as he enters Jerusalem for the last time he weeps over the hard-hearted people of that city, crying loudly: O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill theprophets and stone those who are sent to you. How many times would I havegathered you as a mother hen gathers her chicks under her wing, and you would not!Your house is left unto you desolate!” (Mt. 23:37-38).
Many people speak up for the rights of the LGBT community, and they should have the same rights as anyone else. But who speaks for God? He warns all of us that we can destroy ourselves through sinful forms of behavior and living. This is true for all forms of addictions and behavior: to alcohol, to drugs, to work, and to sexual vices in all their forms. What does Jesus say to all of us no matter how sin has taken hold of us:
  • repent (first a change of mind then a turning, a change of actions) from all sin and wrong
  • believe and trust/rest in Me as your Savior
  • receive the free gift of eternal life and live forever
An important word: When we do come to Christ he does not promise to take away every thorn, scar and maladjustment that our sinful world, sinful nature and sinful acts leave behind as long as we are in this body of flesh. But he does promise earthly and eternal peace of heart and mind as he gives us his grace to bear up under any and all trials (II Cor. 12:7-10). Over time, through the process of Christian growth, believers come to understand that they are called to be conformed to Christ and they fix their eyes on this wonderful goal. As someone once said: “When you give God your heart, he will comb the kinks out of your life in due time.”

In this war of worldviews, Ken was there. Floy was there. The church that had been praying for me for years was there. Jesus triumphed. And I was a broken mess. Conversion was a train wreck. I did not want to lose everything that I loved. But the voice of God sang a sanguine love song in the rubble of my world. I weakly believed that if Jesus could conquer death, he could make right my world. I drank, tentatively at first, then passionately, of the solace of the Holy Spirit. I rested in private peace, then community, and today in the shelter of a covenant family, where one calls me “wife” and many call me “mother.” I have not forgotten the blood Jesus surrendered for this life. And my former life lurks in the edges of my heart, shiny and still like a knife.”

In this carefully researched and important book, Matthew Vines makes a compelling case for biblically-grounded responses to such questions as: How could traditional beliefs have been wrong for thousands of years on such an important topic? What is the story of Sodom and Gomorrah really saying about human relationships? Can celibacy be a calling when it is mandated, not chosen? What did Paul have in mind when he warned against same-sex relations? Do biblical teachings on the marriage covenant preclude same-sex marriage or not?
Matthew Vines is the president and founder of The Reformation Project and the author of God and the Gay Christian: The Biblical Case in Support of Same-Sex Relationships. He lives in Wichita, Kansas.
Matthew attended Harvard University from 2008 to 2010. He then took a leave of absence in order to research the Bible and homosexuality and work toward LGBT inclusion in the church. In March 2012, Matthew delivered a speech at a church in his hometown about the Bible and homosexuality, calling for acceptance of gay Christians and their marriage relationships. Since then, the video of the speech has been seen nearly a million times on YouTube, leading to a feature story in The New York Times.
In 2013, Matthew launched The Reformation Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to training LGBT Christians and their allies to reform church teaching on sexual orientation and gender identity. He is now expanding his efforts with conferences and regular speaking engagements across the country.”

SOUTHERN BAPTISTS ABANDONING SOCIAL JUSTICE HERESY FOR HERESY OF DOMINIONISM

SOUTHERN BAPTISTS ABANDONING
SOCIAL JUSTICE HERESY FOR
HERESY OF DOMINIONISM
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research
purposes:
For the last several years, the social justice movement has swept the Southern Baptist
Convention and it’s tentacles reach every possible corner of nearly every single church in
the entire denomination leaving a stain of intersectionality, feminism, and even in some
cases, LGBTQ activism.
The current Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) president, JD Greear has ushered in a new era for the denomination with his liberal rhetoric. From calling on Christians to stand up for LGBTQ rights to calling on Christians to stand up for Islamic rights, he has helped move the denomination from a solid, biblical God-honoring foundation to one that defies the mission of the Church.
Southern Baptist Theological Seminary president, Al Mohler has stood in the way of any meaningful conversation on the fact that social justice has been taking over the denomination and his protege, Russell Moore has been leading this dog and pony show. From open-borders initiatives to asserting that white people are idolaters of racial power, nobody can deny that Moore has ushered the denomination into this new paradigm.
But SBC leaders are quietly abandoning the entire narrative now, pretending that they never supported, or outright denying it altogether. Starting with Al Mohler, he’s held a number of podcasts where he’s recently denounced the worldview of Critical Race Theory — a worldview the denomination officially embraced and adopted in 2019 at the behest of Mohler’s underlings — and calling it “antithetical to the gospel.”
And, after spending years promoting every possible tenet of social justice and intersectionality, SBC president JD Greear denounced it on Twitter recently.
Which can only lead one to wonder, why all of a sudden are these people — he just as recently as January, intended to double down on their support for Critical Race Theory and intersectionality at the convention all of a sudden jointly shift?
If the Southern Baptist Convention is anything, it isn’t coherent. And the denomination’s lack of any meaningful confession of faith and doctrinal standards leaves it open to being tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine (Ephesians 4:14) and never landing on anything to cohesively hold the denomination in place.
In other words, the denomination goes through cultural movements like dirty diapers and paper plates and when they’re done, they move on to the next. In this case, they appear to be abandoning social justice and embracing a new heresy — at least, new to the Southern Baptist Convention.
Enter the New Apostolic Reformation.
The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) is a dominionist cult — though they deny any organization — that typically embraces a movement called the Seven Mountain Mandate. The Seven Mountain Mandate is what NAR cultists say are seven cultural “mountains” that Christians must conquer in order to usher in the Kingdom of God. These sevel mountains include the arts and entertainment, business and finance, church and religion, media, education, family and health, and government.
New Apostolic Reformation cult - seven mountain mandate
The idea is that Christians must take “dominion” (hence the name, Dominionism) over these areas of culture and “Christianize” them. Once Christians have achieved full dominion over these, the Kingdom of God can finally be ushered into Earth.
This is where Ronnie Floyd comes in. Floyd, former SBC president and now president of the Southern Baptist Executive Committee, announced earlier this year that he was launching an investigation into the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) which is headed by Russell Moore (mentioned above). Moore, who has single-handedly turned the denomination into a social justice boat ride, has been under fire for his push to shift the denomination to the left. Now that he’s being investigated — and churches have withheld money from the denomination because people are tired of throwing their tithes and offerings at his agenda — other SBC leaders are taking note. Several high-ranking employees at the ERLC have moved on in recent months.
But Ronnie Floyd is a dominionist — though he denied this in an email to me a few years ago. His actions speak much louder than his words and his eschatology on several fronts is deeply flawed and over-realized. So much so that Floyd has embraced rank heresy.
Floyd is a friend of Mike Bickle — one of the most highly influential NAR leaders of today — and Floyd has spoken at his IHOPKC church in the past. After participating in the ecumenical NAR event and fully indulging himself in it (he wasn’t just there to preach the gospel, he is fully immersed in the movement), he has spent years attempting to move the denomination in that direction.
Floyd has an over-emphasized view of the power of prayer. While prayer is certainly biblical, edifying, worshipful, and powerful, Floyd’s version of prayer has entered the realm of mystical. And Floyd, as the leader of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Executive Committee and as a leader of the National Day of Prayer, Floyd is merging his mystical beliefs of prayer with the Seven Mountain Mandate and calling on Southern Baptists to join him.
And other SBC leaders have joined him. JD Greear, David Platt, Kevin Ezzell, and a host of other Southern Baptist leaders have joined him. But, interestingly, Russell Moore was not mentioned.
They’ve massaged the mountains a bit. They put the arts and entertainment mountain together with the media mountain and invented the military mountain. But military falls under the government mountain. Nevertheless, the United States New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) types are obsessed with their own US military and war.
It appears that this NAR heresy is going to be the next heresy that Southern Baptists are going to have to fight. The leadership of this denomination are so egregiously undiscerning and unqualified that they just take whatever cultural movement is tossed in their lap at the moment — whether it’s from the progressive left or the conservative right — and run with it until it dies or something new comes along.

MATTHEW VINES HOSTING PRIVATE GATHERING TO TEACH PASTORS HOW TO TURN THEIR CHURCHES GAY AFFIRMING

MATTHEW VINES & FRIENDS: GAY APOLOGISTS TO CHRISTIANS
Godless Morality Adovcates...are filling the void left by biblical pastors who refuse to get involved in the Culture War over morality in America.
Godless ‘Morality’ Advocates…like “gay Christian” activist Matthew Vines are filling the void left by biblical pastors who refuse to get involved in the Culture War over morality in America. In what might be termed a form of “Satanic evangelism,” Vines’ Reformation Project trains people to go into evangelical churches with appealing, homosexuality-affirming and “gay theology” messages–“to create an environment in which Christian leaders will have the freedom to take the next steps toward affirming and including LGBT people in all aspects of church life.” In other words, to infiltrate churches to get them to accommodate a sexual sin that the Word of God calls an abomination. For some actual truth on the subject, see Prof. Rob Gagnon’s paper, “How Bad Is Homosexual Practice According to Scripture?”

This is how the militant LGBTQ mafia works. True Bible-believing Christians do not support, condone, or affirm homosexuality in any way. The Bible calls people to repent of all sexual immorality and to turn to Christ. Yet, the LGBTQ mafia is devoted to turning the Church away from Biblical teaching and toward full affirmation and inclusion of homosexuality. Why? So that they can deaden their consciences against the tormenting sound of God’s Word who they know they must answer to for their sin sooner or later.
Matthew Vines — the gay activist who touts himself as a “gay Christian” and theologian — has been at the forefront of this battle for years. Vines, who has authored books on the subject of “gay Christianity” and is known for his viral YouTube videoThe Gay Debate: The Bible and Homosexuality, has already caused a number of Evangelicals, including Southern Baptist leaders in a closed-door meeting to “soften their tone” against homosexuality. This “softening” of tone has allowed the onslaught of gay theology — from gay Christian outlets such as Living Out and Revoice — to infiltrate mainstream Evangelicalism through progressive outlets such as The Gospel Coalition and the Southern Baptist Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission.
Now, Vines is offering a private gathering for pastors who are at a non-gay-affirming church who want to learn how they can secretly and subversively turn their churches gay. The Reformation Project, founded and led by Vines, is an organization that, according to its website,
is a Bible-based, Christian grassroots organization that works to promote inclusion of LGBTQ people by reforming church teaching on sexual orientation and gender identity. We envision a global church that fully affirms LGBTQ people.
Of course, it is anything but Bible-based. Nonetheless, they are hosting Pastors in Process, designed to teach pastors to secretly turn their churches into gay-affirming churches.
Folks, mark my words. The LGBTQ mafia will not stop until the entire church has joined the sexual revolution. And once they have turned the Church to their side — as they claim they’re fighting for inclusion in the Church — they will leave the Church altogether. They are not interested in being part of the Church. They are only interested in silencing God.
Thankfully, that will not happen.
(Publisher’s comment: I am convinced that these churches that are softening their stance on sodomy are preparing for the time when they are going to be required to embrace the LGBTQ agenda to retain their non-profit status.  They can see the hand writing on the wall.)

Ravi Zacharias hosted Sam Alberry yesterday, who spoke at the event to explain “How To Know Your Gender.” The answer was not as simple as, “Do a DNA test.” Alberry, the gay Anglican priest, is an editor and writer for The Gospel Coalition, an organization run by Mark Dever, Albert Mohler, Ligon Duncan, HB Charles – all speakers at John MacArthur’s upcoming Shepherd’s Conference. In the talk, Allberry claimed that Jesus suffered from dysphoria and used Isaiah 53 to claim that – like transgender people – Jesus had “body issues.”
Allberry, who identifies as a gay Christian on some occasions and on other occasions does not (it seems to depend on his audience), is a favorite expert on Church-Sodomite relations and is promoted not only by The Gospel Coalition but also by the ERLC and other leftist-progressive groups. Allberry spoke at the ERLC encouraging Southern Baptists to redefine the nuclear family to include “non-traditional families,” and he has also used his platform at TGC to promote single homosexuals adopting children so they won’t be lonely.
The celibate gay priest has also created an “audit” for churches to determine how warm and welcoming they are to transgender people and homosexuals, which has been advocated by Tim Keller and others.
At the 1.12.00 mark, Allberry encourages Christians to discount “traditional gender stereotypes.” The priest claims it’s unhealthy for men to be associated with masculinity and women to be associated with femininity. These “traditional” stereotypes make transgender people feel out of place, and the church should not try to reinforce traditional manliness or lady-likeness.
At the 1.15.00 mark, Allberry claims that men and women are not as different as many would assert and that many such distinctions are “arbitrary.” If we would just be biblical Alberry argues, we would see less difference between the genders.
At the 1.18.00 mark, Allberry makes the case that the warrior, King David, was effeminate. He claims that the Bible says David was beautiful in a feminine way, and because he wrote poetry, David likely had some gender identity issues.
At the 1.23.00 mark, Allberry claimed that Jesus had “body issues” because Isaiah 53 says that people “turned their face from him,” meaning that he was ugly.
At the 1.23.56 mark, he claimed that “there is no greater dysphoria” than what Jesus felt like on the Cross, being imputed with sin at the atonement and that he was in the wrong body.
That’s how Allberry ended his presentation.

Do the ShepCon Speakers Stand By Their Gay Priest?

SEE: https://pulpitandpen.org/2019/02/16/do-the-shepcon-speakers-stand-by-their-gay-priest/republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
The 2019 Shepherd’s Conference speakers, all invited by John MacArthur amidst much controversy and protest, are personally responsible for the promotion and propagation of a gay priest who just taught against traditional gender roles and likened the atonement to gender dysphoria, claiming that Jesus had “body issues.”
Sam Allberry is an editor and writer at The Gospel Coalition, which has a Council that includes Albert Mohler, Mark Dever, H.B. Charles, and Ligon Duncan.
All of these men have oversight of TGC and its authors, platforms, and publications. All of these men have helped to promote the gay Anglican priest and propel him to platforms like Ravi Zacharias Ministries, where last night he urged the church to loosen gender roles and made the disparaging remarks about King David and King Jesus.
Asking the question if they affirm the gay priest isn’t a matter of guilt by association, because they are literally promoting him through TGC (neither is asking the question wholly necessary because they clearly affirm him through their organization).
Perhaps a better question is if Dr. MacArthur stands by this gay priest and his attacks on traditional gender roles and his blasphemy regarding the atonement of Christ. And if not, why would MacArthur partner with those who aid and abet the gay lobby, especially among such a resounding protest by ShepCon and Grace to You supporters?

What Christians Just Don’t Get About LGBT Folks

Rosaria Butterfield on what Christians just don’t seem to get about LGBT folks:
Advice from a Bleeding Heart Liberal, infecting the body of Christ
with her propaganda:

SHOULD CHRISTIANS RETHINK THE LANGUAGE OF “SAME SEX ATTRACTION”?

SHOULD CHRISTIANS RETHINK THE LANGUAGE OF “SAME SEX ATTRACTION”?
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:

[Thirty Pieces of Silver] At the beginning of 2013 the Christian
community in America began to be flooded with new terms and players
using new words for human sexuality, gender and sexual norms. These new
speakers like Sam Allberry, Rosaria Butterfield,
and a small herd of others, began making the rounds at conferences and
working to ever so gently to move the church toward a new
“understanding” of sexual minorities (LGBTQ ) whose “civil rights” were
on a fast track into the mainstream.  Although in conservative circles
the assertion was that conventional Biblical perspectives were being
retained and defended, the talking points were being changed and the
language and terms were nuanced just in time for the massive redefining
of sexual norms and marriage.  This new language came from respected
heavy hitters in conservative evangelical circles like Albert Mohler and
Timothy Keller whose influence on next-gen pastors is immeasurable.  As
their endeavor surfaces several glaring realities come into focus.

  • The church is being asked to rethink (a favorite progressive term
for overhauling the past position) its rhetoric if not its stand on
    homosexuality and marriage.
  • The church leadership has constructed a unified approach to
accomplish a task, for whom and to what ultimate end is not YET in
    focus.
  • The effort has brought to the “Conversation” some interesting
players including a gay priest from the UK / Church of England whose
    ministry Living Out is
pushing the “same-sex attracted”/ SSA language, inclusion and
understanding, seasoned with a good dose of guilt and shame for the
churches’ past failures to understand and distinguish SSA from
    homosexuality.
  • Another major player in the conversation is a former lesbian and (as
yet) quiet liberal academic whose professional specialty and activist
training was in Marxist/Freudian / Darwinian flavored Critical Theory specializing in “Queer Theory” – Rosaria Butterfield, who has no theological background to address the issue with the conservative church.
  • The church is suddenly being told that the “ick factor” recoil to
same-sex desires is “sin” and is being asked to abandon 2,000 plus years
of Biblically-based language and understanding of homosexuality, sexual
    temptation and desires.

WHY CHANGE THE LANGUAGE NOW?

The earliest use of the term “SSA Christian” and “victim of the
church” internal talking points for evangelicals appears to be from the
preparations of statements for the 2010 third Lausanne Congress of World
Evangelism in Cape Town South Africa. This would place the insertion of
SSA language and the emotion-packed narrative in the 2009 documents for
the lead up to Cape Town 2010.  The ministry to homosexuals is based on
Lausanne’s partnership with Exodus Global Alliance (a
distinct organization, according to its website, from Exodus
International which famously abandoned the mission of rehabilitating
homosexuals and apologized for hurting homosexuals in 2013). Exodus
Global worked directly with the Lausanne committee to draft 4 essays on
how the church is to minister to homosexuals.

Essay 1 Sexuality, Truth and Grace

Essay 2 Homosexuality and the Church

Essay 3 God’s Work to Redeem People Involved in Homosexuality

Essay 4 Equipping the Church to Respond

Examples of The New Talking Points and Approach

According to the Lausanne Global Conversation, homosexuals number 155
million worldwide and represent an “unreached people group.” Here is
some of the narrative on “Homosexuality and the Church”:

“Some of the souls who are impacted by same sex
attraction are Christians, and some are not. People dealing with
same-sex attraction wander the streets of communities all over the
world, and many of them are perishing because no one has seen them as
worthy of evangelism and ministry.”

“Each of these persons represents people marginalized in the church.”

“The church can learn something from the fact that so many prominent
gay activists and personalities share a common upbringing in the church.
Their struggles began, in some way, in the church.”

“As these people share their stories, it is clear that condemnation,
warning and fear can work to restrain someone dealing with same sex
attraction for a time. At some point, however, these tools no longer
work. Christian rules, Christian regiment, and Christian tradition will
only go so far.”

Time and space do not permit going into greater detail and quoting
more sources but the contents above show the tone of the essays. Gays
are victims – not of homosexuality but mostly of an unaffirming culture
and church and an old-school approach to the Gospel.  REPENTANCE and
saving FAITH are not discussed as the remedy as millions of us have
historically left sins behind us in the traditional Christian faith. The
CORE message of the new talking points?  The church is at fault and
MUST change.

EXODUS GLOBAL ALLIANCE SPOKESPERSON

Mike Goeke, pastor of Stonegate Fellowship since 2010 is now
associate pastor of First Baptist San Francisco.  Goeke authored several
of the Exodus essays including the quotes above. In his testimony “Homosexual and Married,“
Goeke recounts his homosexual desires and online indulgence until
finally departing from his marriage to pursue life as a gay man.
Eventually, Goeke abandoned gay theology and homosexuality and returned
to his wife and family. Though parts of his testimony reflect a clear
repentance yet his family and Christian community’s support and loving
outreach hardly confirm his espoused view that the church is mishandling
ministry to homosexuals. And the Exodus/ Lausanne collaborations
plainly call the CHURCH to change by asserting its failure in compassion
toward homosexuals.

Goeke cannot be making these assumptions and assertions in the
Lausanne essays from personal experience since his wife and family
prayed and waited and believed.  Somewhere in what should be an
otherwise wonderful testimony is a confused narrative of mistreatment
that did not come from the Christians in Goeke’s personal experience.
Yet to date, as of 2017, he asserts that Christians retain homosexual or
SSA desires well after conversion. These retained desires now in the
broader narrative are not temptations but taken as proof of
“orientation”. One of the primary contributors to this determination is
psychologist Mark Yarhouse. He was commissioned by DA Carson of The
Gospel Coalition to develop this ideology for TGC and  TEDS “Christin on
Campus Initiative ” and it was applied as the gold standard on
sexuality and to the general topic of the church and homosexuality in
2010 (same time as the Lausanne Movement South Africa meetings launched
the works it had commissioned developing the SSA narrative and elevating
Tim Keller – Carson’s co-founder at TGC). Yarhouse assertions that
Sexual Orientation is proven and a reality then concludes a person with
homosexual temptation has a homosexual of LGBTQ+ “Sexual Identity ” . If
that individual holds to a faith then they also have a “Faith
Identity”. If that faith does not affirm LGBTQ+ identity or practices
then they resulting “conflict” must be resolved. The Yarhouse resolution
is to merge the Sexual Identity with Faith Identity in an acceptance of
a “Gay Christian Identity “. If that individual’s faith tradition does
not affirm homosexual behavior then the critical piece of the process
for resolution is to advocate celibacy or mixed orientation marriages
where one opposite-sex partner identifies as homosexual the other as
heterosexual. THIS is the answer that Lausanne, TGC , and others who
follow in their wake have decided to develop and promote to the church
and from the church to a lost world. The question for the reader? “Is
this the Gospel and the Power of Christ sacrifice to save sinners and
make us saints? A simple study of scripture and the testimony of
millions of redeemed souls no longer in bondage to past sins or the
temptations to engage in them  – and no longer defined by nuanced
language to coddle and preserve them – stand in total opposition to this
sad and false set of unbiblical beliefs.

The approach to SSA Christianity mirrors the “once an alcoholic
always an alcoholic” of Alcoholics Anonymous and does not reflect
Biblical salvation. SSA begs acceptance by the church of a sexual
orientation to homosexuality. Therefore, if orientation exists as an
inborn trait, then homosexual attraction is something that cannot change
and the church “must begin its journey toward acceptance” of the new
science, understanding, language, and an era of inclusion. The only
verdict yet to be determined is whether we in the church will continue
to REQUIRE celibacy by the newly labeled victims of SSA as the
determinate for inclusion in the faith and in the church and in
leadership roles within it.

WHERE WE ARE NOW

You can see from articles linked below where this 2010 development of
and 2013 full launch of the Lausanne Movements SSA branding and
language have taken the church thus far. Sam  Allberry /Living Out
ministry has introduced a “Church Audit on LGBTQ+ Inclusion ” which will
be coming to the States in November 2018 through TGC affiliated 9MARKS
churches of Southern Baptist Mark Dever. Tim Keller was the keynote
speaker at the June 2018 meetings of Living Out where the Church
Inclusion Audit was launched.

In the lead up to the June meetings with Keller in London, Living Out
endorsed the radical Revoice Conference” for out U S audience ” which
is “promoting “LGBTQ+ flourishing ( a favorite word of Keller and
Lausanne and their associated think tanks ) in historic Christian
traditions”.  Both the Revoice group and Living Out want the Church to
Rethink and Revoice the conversation of homosexuality in the church .
The word salad and nuancing that was drafted  in 2010 and launched in
earnest in 2013 by Lausanne, The Gospel Coalition, Christian media , and
a host of others- continues to mute the voices of opposition and
distort and twist the scriptures , muddle clarity , and promote the
normalization of a Gay Christianity to an unsuspecting evangelical
church on a global scale. Key research articles tracking this decline
into full compliance -acceptance- welcome and eventually affirmation of
the global LGBTQ+ agenda by the global church can be found at this link.
Here are a few key articles related to the advance of the SSA narrative
and the decline of Biblical perspective on the issue of the Gospel and
LGBTQ+.

The following are a video and article that may help the reader decide
if these talking points are Biblical or more driven by emotions and the
changing times. A great deal is riding on the present considerations as
no denomination has historically ever continued to grow as a result of
affirming, including, welcoming LGBTQ and none have recovered from the
onset of steep decline once the bridge is crossed.

MAJOR THEOLOGICAL ERROR IN SBC’S STATEMENT ON IMMIGRATION LAW AMNESTY FOR CHILDREN OF ILLEGALS~RUSSELL MOORE SERVES ON THE “EVANGELICAL IMMIGRATION TABLE” FUNDED BY EX-NAZI JEW HATER GLOBALIST GEORGE SOROS

MAJOR THEOLOGICAL ERROR IN SBC’S STATEMENT
ON IMMIGRATION
BY SETH DUNN
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, and research purposes:
You didn’t eat any forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. It was Adam. It was
Eve. It wasn’t you. You didn’t do it. Yet, you are suffering the consequences of
the offense of your first parents. The Apostle Paul made this clear in his Epistle
to the Romans:

“Therefore,
just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through
sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned—for until the
Law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Nevertheless
death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned
in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to
come.” Romans 5:12-14

Death reigned even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam. That doesn’t sit right with many but it is nevertheless true.
Paul’s statement from Romans concerns our first parents
but what about our actual parents? Do children suffer for the offenses
of their parents? Yes. Moses made this clear in his biblical writings:

“You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in
heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.
You
shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a
jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on
the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,
but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.” Exodus 20:4-6

Moses quotes the passage above in Numbers 14:18 when conversing with the Lord and remind the Israelites of it in Deuteronomy 5:8-10.
The people of God are clearly not meant to forget it. The Lord gives
his warning to parents in the specific context of committing idolatry
but there is a an obvious principle: children suffer for the iniquity of
their parents. Even outside of specific divine punishment, this is a
truism of which parents are generally aware. When a parent makes a bad
decision, be it sinful or merely stupid, his child will suffer the
consequences. Unfortunately, this truism is lost among a group of professional theologians, chief among them top Southern Baptist ethicist Russell Moore, who recently drafted the
Evangelical Leader Statement of Principles on Dreamers.
This statement advocates for immigration law amnesty in the cases of
certain children who were illegally brought into the United States by
their parents.
While their outlook on government policy is debatable,
their clear flouting of biblical theology is completely unacceptable.
Their offense is summarized in a single sentence from their statement:

“We believe it is unjust to punish children for offenses they did not commit.”

How can this be so, if God has visited the iniquity of fathers on their children? Even if God no longer does it, he has done it. Justice
itself, in eternity past and going perpetually forward, is objectively
grounded in the nature of God. How can God have ever done something that
was unjust? Did Paul and Moses make false statements about God or did
the authors of the
Evangelical Leader Statement of Principles on Dreamers, which does not include a single biblical citation, impugn the character of God?
In
the long history of the United States, immigrant parents have come to
this country to give their children a better life. This is true of
parents who have emigrated both legally and illegally. The logical
implication of the
Evangelical Leader Statement of Principles on Dreamers
is that those parents who broke the law in an effort to give their
children a better life (despite any negative impacts on the children of
their neighbors) should be rewarded. Their children get to stay even
though they broke the law to bring them to the United States. The
parents did wrong; their children benefit because it’s apparently
“unjust to punish children for offenses they did not commit”. So, what
exactly is the consequence of the parents breaking the law? Their
children benefit
and it’s unjust for the government to remove the benefit.

That’s hogwash.
How
is it that these leaders continue to be funded and given positions of
influence by Southern Baptists? Why are they given a platform to make a
patently unbiblical statement? Their sense of justice is obviously
grounded in a popular idea of human fairness and not the infallible word
of God. Southern Baptists should stop giving them money to contradict
the word of God to in the course of scoring political points.

[Editor’s Note: JD Hall also explained the error of this, and compared the promises of the New Covenant in Jeremiah 31 to the promise of punishment upon children in Deuteronomy 6.
He elaborates more fully on the theological problems presented by the
claim that it is “unjust” to punish children for the sins of their
parents. You can see that post here]

Russell Moore – who serves on the Evangelical Immigration Table funded by George Soros and called a border wall a “golden calf” – has begun a document petition at the ERLC, requesting that DACA be reinstated. Moore, who implied that Southern Baptists disagree
with President’s Trump’s temporary terrorist-nation immigration ban, is
busy fighting for his progressive-liberal agenda with the full faith
and 4 million-a-year backing of the Southern Baptist Convention.

DACA stands for “Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals” and refers to
President Obama’s decision in 2012 to not enforce standing immigration
law for those called “Dreamers,”
illegal aliens between the age of 18 and 35 who have been in the United
States more than five years and who were brought here illegally as
minors. DACA was not legislation, but “procedural law” of Obama’s
executive branch that essentially said it would use prosecutorial
discretion to simply not enforce immigration law. This presented a
Constitutional crisis, because even though law enforcement can exercise
discretion in deciding which individual cases to prosecute, they
typically have not essentially nullified legislation by applying that
discretion to entire classes or demographics of people. The Trump
Administration’s Department of Homeland Security rescinded Obama’s DACA
in September of this year on the grounds that it was an unconstitutional
power-grab by the executive branch of government.
Ironically, as President Trump’s DHS rescinded DACA, he said that he hoped congress would legally pass such an exemption
through the legislature. Virtually everyone – on both sides of the
political aisle – have said that they want to work out something similar
to DACA through the proper legislative (and constitutional) channels.
However, the social justice warriors at the ERLC and among the Evangelical Intelligentsia want to bleed their heart all over the blogosphere and signal their progressive virtue. The document says…

Biblically understood, a just system of law always has in
view human flourishing. We advocate for change to particular laws when
needed because of our respect for the rule of law. Many of us have
participated in our nation’s debate over immigration policy reform for
well over a decade, and these conversations within our churches about
the national immigration crisis have produced significant consensus
among members of our churches and communities.

“Human flourishing.” That’s the catch-all word used by the Jim
Wallis-wing of leftist Christianity. The document goes on to say, “We
believe Dreamers deserve to be recognized as our fellow Americans” and
calls on Congress to grant amnesty and a path of permanent Citizenship.

Signing the document include virtually all the names one would expect
to see from the inner-club of Intelligentsia, including DA Carson, Matt
Chandler, David Dockery, JD Greear, and newly minted Southern Baptist,
Greg Laurie. Other names include Rosaria Butterfield, whose most notable
accomplishment is having once been gay, and Karen Swallow Prior, a feminist and animal rights activist. Also signing is NAR charismatic, Samuel Rodriguez.

If you’re a Southern Baptist, do you agree with how your money is being spent and with the trajectory of the ERLC?

 The Evangelical Immigration Table Exposed
As Another Soros Front
EXCERPTS QUOTED VERBATIM, UNEDITED:

“EIT reportedly does not legally exist and is an arm of the George Soros funded National Immigration Forum,
which as a “neutral third-party institution” facilitated EIT’s $250,000
radio ad campaign urging Evangelicals to back mass legalization of
illegal immigrants.

So if the EIT is just a front, then what exactly is the National Immigration Forum? NIF received over three million dollars from Soros’ Open Society Institute (OSI) in 2009-2010 alone, as well as one million dollars from the left-wing Ford Foundation. Furthermore, Sojourners is also a recipient of Soros’ money, and their President and CEO, Jim Wallis, is prominent within EIT.
EIT organized events on religious college campuses, primarily focusing on their “I Was A Stranger” campaign (which, if you haven’t seen it, is a truly masterful piece of emotional blackmail).
But there remains the nauseating fact that some Evangelicals are
peddling a new sort of liberation theology to American Christians, aided
by a man who has actively supported and financed organizations that
directly go against Evangelical beliefs about marriage, abortion,
euthanasia and embryonic stem cell research.”

APOSTATE COMPLEMENTARIANS ISSUE NEW MANIFESTO ON GENDER IDENTITY~CENTRIST POSITION ASSAILED

Complementarians Issue New Manifesto on Gender Identity

Russell Moore, Sam Allberry, Rosaria Butterfield, and Christopher Yuan have endorsed the Nashville Statement.
COMPLEMENTARIANS ISSUE NEW MANIFESTO
ON GENDER IDENTITY
CBMW’s Nashville Statement addresses shifting notions of sex and sexuality.
BY KATE SHELLNUTT
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, and research purposes:
 America’s top complementarian leaders have
shifted their focus from gender roles to gender
identity.

On Tuesday, the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood (CBMW) released
a new declaration that reasserts the significance of biological sex and
traditional marriage over society’s growing LGBT acceptance.

“We are persuaded that faithfulness in our generation
means declaring once again the true story of the world and of our place
in it—particularly as male and female,” according to the group’s Nashville Statement.

At the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and
Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) national conference in Nashville
last week, it was endorsed by about 150 conservative Christian
leaders—many of them male, Baptist, and Reformed.
(The mayor of
Nashville, though, was not happy about the name.)
Initial signatories include many CBMW and ERLC leaders;
pastors like J. I. Packer, Francis Chan, John MacArthur, and James
MacDonald; and authors Rosaria Butterfield and Christopher Yuan.
At its founding by theologian Wayne Grudem 30 years ago,
CBMW issued the Danvers Statement, which affirmed the complementary
differences between the genders. It came in response to an increasingly
feminist society (and church), where conservative leaders feared men and
women were losing their biblical distinctions.
That foundational document, often seen as the textbook
definition of complementarian convictions, critiques “feminist
egalitarianism” and women rising in church leadership, and upholds
“vocational homemaking” and wives’ submission in marriage.
The 2017 Nashville Statement, instead of outlining how
the genders should live in relation to one another, makes several points
defending the existence of two genders in the first place. CBMW upholds
“God’s design for self-conception as male or female” in the face of new
conversations over transgender identity, gender fluidity, and
homosexual relationships.
John Piper called the document—which contains 14 points, each affirming and denying a belief about sex and sexuality—“a Christian manifesto concerning issues of human sexuality.”
“There is no effort to equivocate for the sake of wider,
but muddled, acceptance,” he said. “It touches the most fundamental and
urgent questions of the hour, without presuming to be a blueprint for
political action.”
The new statement affirms that people with same-sex
attraction can have “a rich and fruitful life pleasing to God through
faith in Jesus Christ, as they, like all Christians, walk in purity of
life.” But in another point, it critiques those who would self-identify
as gay.
Christians who affirm same-sex relationships have pushed
back against the statement—particularly a line that says approving of
homosexuality and transgenderism “constitutes an essential departure
from Christian faithfulness and witness.”
(In the words of Baptist Press,
no more “agreeing to disagree” on LGBT issues.) The Liturgists, founded
by musician Michael Gungor and podcaster “Science Mike” McHargue, released a counter-statement in solidarity with LGBT Christians.
The Nashvile Statement also suggests that people who
identify as transgender can and should accept the “God-ordained link
between one’s biological sex and one’s self-conception as male or
female,” while acknowledging the dignity of those who are born with
physical conditions related to their sex.
It’s hard to capture the complexities of transgenderism
in a concise declaration, but CBMW has approached the issue from a
theological, biblical standpoint, relying on what researcher Mark
Yarhouse calls an “integrity lens,” or concern for the integrity of sex
and gender as created by God.
“It makes sense that faithful Christians would start there,” said Yarhouse, author of Understanding Gender Dysphoria: Navigating Transgender Issues in a Changing Culture
and director of the Institute for the Study of Sexual Identity at
Regent University. “It’s trying to signal what’s going to be within the
bounds of evangelicalism, and it will be interesting to see how
evangelicals respond to that.” (For more on his research, see Yarhouse’s
2015 CT feature, Understanding the Transgender Phenomenon.)
Some conservative Christians criticized the CBMW’s
narrow focus on homosexuality and transgenderism, rather than the
underlying gospel issues that have led to a distorted view of “bodily
and sexual life” among Christians.
“The spectacles and obvious disputes this statement
responds to are the sideshow, not the main action,” wrote Matthew Lee
Anderson, in a Mere Orthodoxy post
about why his name would not appear among the signatories. “Those
obvious manifestations of the ‘spirit of our age’ are not the ones we
should worry about; it is those that are not obvious, the subtle
temptations that lure us in without us realizing their deadly force.”
The Nashville Statement, with its clear stances on such
topics, explicitly expands the CBMW’s central concerns beyond what it
had long been known for addressing: women’s roles in the home and the
church.
“They seem to have won the battle on women’s ordination,
at least in the Southern Baptist and Presbyterian church,” said Wendy
Alsup, who was among the female complementarian bloggers who spoke out
against CBMW’s theological emphases during last summer’s Trinity debate.
“This may be a new iteration of CBMW, but I don’t think it will define
them” in the same way as the Danvers Statement did, she said.
Though she had significant concerns about some points in the new declaration, Alsup, author of the new book Is the Bible Good For Women?, said that overall, “This is not a knee-jerk reaction to liberal ideas; this is a thoughtful and biblical statement.”
Aimee Byrd, who raised the issue of the Eternal Subordination of the Son
as it relates to complementrian theology, took issue with what the
Nashville Statement left out. Not only did it not clarify that
particular debate, she wrote,
but it doesn’t address her questions on authority and submission;
feminine and masculine stereotypes; and the relationships between men
and women outside of marriage.
The new statement comes about a year after Denny Burk, a professor at Boyce College, replaced Owen Strachan as CBMW president.
“The spirit of our age does not delight in God’s good
design of male and female. Consequently, confusion reigns over some of
the most basic questions of our humanity,” said Burk. “The aim of the
Nashville Statement is to shine a light into the darkness—to declare the
goodness of God’s design in our sexuality and in creating us as male
and female.”

THREE CRITERIA OF RIGHTEOUS ANGER

3 Criteria of Righteous Anger

EXCERPTS:
One of the most common, ongoing struggles we face in our sanctification as believers is the area of anger. And one of the most common ways we mismanage our anger is by failing to distinguish between righteous and sinful anger, and response. This failure is sometimes due to our conscious choice to not face our sin honestly, but it also can be the result of the blindness that stems from our own pride. And not one of us is exempt from this battle!
  1. Righteous Anger Reacts against Actual Sin. Righteous anger arises from an accurate perception of true evil, from sin as defined biblically, i.e., as a violation of God’s Word (Rom 3:23; 1 Jn 3:4). Righteous anger does not result from merely being inconvenienced or from violations of personal preference or human tradition.
  2. Righteous Anger Focuses on God and His Kingdom, Rights, and Concerns, Not on Me and My Kingdom, Rights and Concerns. In Scripture, God-centered motives, not self-centered motives, drive righteous anger. Righteous anger focuses on how people offend God and his name, not me and my name. It terminates on God more than me. In other words, accurately viewing something as offensive is not enough. We must view it primarily as offending God.
  3. Righteous Anger Is Accompanied by Other Godly Qualities and Expresses Itself in Godly Ways.Righteous anger remains self-controlled. It keeps its head without cursing, screaming, raging, or flying off the handle. Nor does it spiral downward in self-pity or despair. It does not ignore people, snub people, or withdraw from people.
CAVEAT: ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS; MAYBE NOT SO FUNDAMENTAL AFTER ALL? PERHAPS YOU NEED TO BE LIBERAL IF YOU WANT TO HAVE ANY KIND OF CHURCH IN DELAWARE?

HE INSISTS:

1) HE DOESN’T SUPPORT OBAMA, DESPITE THE OPPOSITE IN SERMON. CALLS OBAMA AN IDEAL FAMILY MAN.

2) HE SUPPORTS KIM DAVIS, KENTUCKY CLERK WHO REFUSED TO ISSUE GAY “MARRIAGE” LICENSES, ALTHOUGH HE HAS SAID LITTLE. ASSISTANT SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER COMPARES KIM DAVIS TO JOB OF THE BIBLE.

3) HE HAS GONE TO THE STATE CAPITOL TO STAND AGAINST GAY MARRIAGE LAW IN DELAWARE, BUT WON’T PREACH ABOUT SUCH. INSTEAD, SAYS HE HAS VERY NICE GAY FRIENDS, AND WE HAVE PREJUDICES AND MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT GAYS.

4) HE’S FREEDOM LOVING AND SUPPORTS SECOND AMENDMENT, BUT ALLOWS A ROOKIE SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER TO MISINTERPRET ROMANS 13, I.E., ABSOLUTE OBEDIENCE TO GOVERNMENT (GOOD OR EVIL), AND TO TEACH THAT THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION WAS BOTH DISOBEDIENCE TO GOD AND A FORM OF ANARCHY. THIS TEACHER IS INTO THE “DARK ARTS”: SEE: http://pearlsofwisdm.com/search/dark+arts

5) HE HAS AN EXPOSITORY APPROACH TO PREACHING SCRIPTURE, BUT NEVER RELATES SUCH TO CULTURE AND/OR POLITICS, ONLY HIS PERSONAL QUIRKS, EUPHEMISMS, AND JOKES. EVEN SUNK LOW ENOUGH TO WRITE IN HIS BLOG: “JESUS IS THE ONE MAN SHOW”.
SEE: http://www.thepastorsheart.org/2015/08/several-things-to-help-pastors-enjoy.html (PARAGRAPH 4). THIS BLOG POST DARES TO INSTRUCT OTHER PASTORS ON HOW TO TUNE UP SERVICES, BUT NOT BE HYPER CRITICAL OR ARTIFICIAL.

6) HE IS FUNDAMENTAL, BUT USES KNOWN EMERGENT HERETICS AS SOURCES FOR HIS SERMONS AND SUGGESTED READING.

7) HE IS FUNDAMENTAL, BUT ALLOWS CONTEMPORARY MUSIC IN SERVICES, WHOSE AUTHORS ARE EITHER CATHOLIC OR CATHOLIC FRIENDLY, AND ECUMENICAL.

8) HE BELIEVES IN BIBLICAL SEPARATION, BUT PICKS AND CHOOSES WHO IS APOSTATE AND/OR HERETICAL WITHOUT RESEARCHING OR VETTING SUCH PEOPLE. EXAMPLES WOULD BE KEITH & KRISTYN GETTY, STUART TOWNEND, AND THEIR ECUMENICAL CATHOLIC FRIENDLY MUSIC, “REFORMED” TIM KELLER, JOHN PIPER, PAUL TRIPP, AND OTHERS HE IS CONSTANTLY READING, ABSORBING, AND ALLUDING TO. ONE HAS TO WONDER IF HE IS SPENDING MORE TIME ON THESE PLUS DRIVING HIS EGO BOOSTING BIG SUV AND MOTORCYCLE, THAN THE BIBLE OR HIS MINISTRY DUTIES.

9) HE IS AGAINST GAY MARRIAGE, BUT IS SOFT ON GAYS, WON’T DESCRIBE THEIR GRUESOME AND AGGRESSIVELY PERVERTED AGENDA.  ACTUALLY BLAMED CHRISTIANS FOR MISTREATING GAYS. IN SERMON, REFERRED TO ROSARIA BUTTERFIELD, AUTHOR, FORMER LESBIAN, CATHOLIC, AND UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST, NOW ALLEGED CHRISTIAN, AS A MODEL FOR CHRISTIANS. SHE IS REALLY A TROJAN HORSE APOLOGIST FOR THE GAY COMMUNITY AND SPEAKS TO CHRISTIANS TO PERSUADE THEM TO SOFTEN THEIR ATTITUDE AND APPROACH TO GAYS. SEE:
https://ratherexposethem.org/2015/07/the-perversion-of-reformed-rosaria.html

10) HE IS PRO LIFE, BUT HAS NEVER BEEN HEARD TO PREACH ABOUT IT. AS WITH EVERYTHING HE PREACHES, IT’S TONED DOWN SO AS NOT TO BE OFFENSIVE TO EITHER THE CHURCH, THE PUBLIC AND/OR THE IRS. HE DOESN’T HESITATE THOUGH TO CALL OUT AND LABEL DISCERNING PEOPLE “CRITICAL STINKERS” WHO OFFEND HIM.

11) HE IS CONSERVATIVE, BUT NEVER QUOTES FOUNDING FATHERS, MODERN CONSERVATIVES OR POLITICIANS. INSTEAD HE QUOTES EMERGENT CHURCH LEADERS WHO EMPHASIZE GROWTH METHODS, AND WATER DOWN THE BIBLE. HE IDENTIFIES WITH THESE APOSTATES WHO THINK CHURCH SHOULD BE FUN AND ENTERTAINING.

12) HE HAS PREACHED AGAINST SECRET SOCIETIES, BUT IF ONE SENTENCE IN A SERMON IN THE LAST 10 YEARS IS WHAT HE MEANS, THAT’S NOT ENOUGH. IT IS VERY LIKELY THAT THE BOARD IS CONTROLLED BY FREEMASONS, BUT WE CANNOT PROVE IT DUE TO THE SECRET NATURE OF FREEMASONRY. CONSIDER THIS IN HIS WORDS:
We do not prohibit secret society members such as Freemasons to join our church, but they cannot hold leadership positions.  I do openly speak by name on the “why’s” of not belonging to such societies.”
(SEE EMAIL BELOW)
13) HE PRACTICES SEPARATION, BUT THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF SUCH. CHURCH DISCIPLINE IS UNKNOWN.

14) HE DOES NOT “ACCEPT” CHRISTIANS TRANSFERRING FROM ANOTHER CHURCH FOR “NON-DOCTRINAL REASONS”, BUT IS ONE OF THOSE CONTROLLING TYPES THAT WANT YOU TO GO BACK TO YOUR OLD CHURCH AND “RECONCILE” WITH IT. OR SO IT APPEARS. INSTEAD, MANY PEOPLE, INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL FOUNDERS OF HIS CHURCH HAVE BEEN “ACCEPTED” ON THE BASIS OF WHAT THE EMERGING CHURCH CALLS DIFFERENCES OVER “NON ESSENTIALS” OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH, I.E., OTHER THAN DOCTRINAL ISSUES, FOR EXAMPLE: STYLES OF WORSHIP, MINISTRY, AND SO-CALLED “SECONDARY” DOCTRINES, IN ADDITION TO PERSONAL DISAGREEMENTS IF ANY. IF HE IS REALLY FUNDAMENTAL, (THE ENTIRE BIBLE BEING “ESSENTIAL”), THEN WHY DISCRIMINATE? PERHAPS THERE IS AN URGENT NEED FOR MORE CASH TO PAY THE $2.2 MILLION MORTGAGE, MAKE THE ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSROOMS MORE COMFORTABLE, AND BUILD A YOUTH MINISTRY “BARN”?
__________________________________________________

SCRIPTURE HE CITED TO JUSTIFY HIS SELF RIGHTEOUS TIRADE:
Proverbs 6:14&19-“Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord. A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Romans 16:17-“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.”

BUT, AS WE CAN CLEARLY SEE FROM HIS OWN WORDS
IN VOICE, PRINT AND ONLINE, HE LEAVES COMMENTS
THAT ARE AT LEAST QUESTIONABLE IF NOT APOSTATE

FOR EXAMPLE, FROM A PASTOR WHO GRADUATED FROM BOB JONES UNIVERSITY, THE ULTIMATE BASTION OF FUNDAMENTALISM AND RECENT SEX ABUSE SCANDAL, HIS BLOG POST SHOWS:

AN UNBELIEVABLE IGNORANCE OF SCRIPTURE (AND SPELLING ERRORS) WHICH A KNOWN HERETIC, TIM KELLER,
ALLEGEDLY ENLIGHTENED HIM ABOUT?
ISN’T THE HOLY SPIRIT THE ILLUMINATOR?

EXCERPT; republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, and research purposes:

“THURSDAY, JULY 23, 2015

Wait…Jesus said what?

Luke 21:16-19  And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.  (17)  And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.  (18)  But there shall not an hair of your head perish.  (19)  In your patience possess ye your souls.

I believe I first heard Tim Keller  reference this passage.  It was an “aha” moment for me in understanding the mind of God concerning bad things that happen to believers.

The context is Jesus revealing to his disciples what would happen as they stood for Him.  I have not studied in depth the eschatological timing of the paragraph, but it seems prophetic to the last times – perhaps the beginning of the Tribulation.”

COPY OF EMAIL QUESTIONS FROM THIS BLOG AND ANSWERS BY TOBE WITMER
SEPTEMBER 6, 2010
Republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, and research purposes:

1) Does your church maintain that it is incompatible for Christians to have
membership in a Christian church and concurrently have membership or
affiliation with secret societies such as the Freemasons?

2) Does your church practice discipline, and would you remove a member or deny membership
to a person involved with the Freemasons and/or other secret society?

We do not prohibit secret society members such as Freemasons to join our
church, but they cannot hold leadership positions.  I do openly speak by
name on the “why’s” of not belonging to such societies.

3) Do you subscribe to any church growth movement, emergent philosophy,
contemplative or ecumenical philosophy, and/or “Purpose Driven” concepts of
Rick Warren?

Our church was birthed out of a core group that stood against the Seeker
Sensitive movement and was “removed” from their church.  We are strongly
opposed to a “marketing” concept of church philosophy that makes man and not
the Lord the center of purpose and worship.  We are extremely traditional
and conservative, yet healthy, excited, and “alive” in our fellowship.

We stand against “emergent” quest for relevance.  God’s Word is always
relevant – we need not fit into our culture or seek to to win the lost.  We
have seen 3 “unchurched” adults saved in the last 3 weeks.  We are
non-ecumentical and I’m not sure what contemptlative is.  Chances are, we
are non-that as well 🙂  Our “Purpose-Driven” is the glory of God as
exampled in the early church in Acts.  We strive very hard to mirror the
illustration of Acts 2,3.

4) Do you have any problem with David Barton yoking with Glenn Beck, a
Mormon, in “common faith” events like Beck’s “Divine Destiny” at the Kennedy
Center or his “Restoring Honor” rally on the mall?

I have been with Barton at a leadership invitational in Washington – I don’t
believe believers should yoke together with unbelievers or false-christians
such as Beck on spiritual ground (evangelism, church, faith.)  I am not as
“strict” over political issues, but would struggle on a one-by-one decision
on that myself.

5) Do you allow your church members to be Bereans and to actively and
continually “test the spirits”. Is “testing the spirits” judgmental and
sinful?

You will have to define what you mean by “test the spirits” – you could mean
anything from the Charismatic Movement to Being discerning in things that
are excellent.

6) Do you subscribe to decisional regeneration, abandonment theology, a
fatalistic/defeatist theology, process theology, theistic evolution, and/or
a Keswick theology of passivism?

I choose not to answer each of these in this venue. Though I am always
engaged in fighting wrong theology, I am not familiar with some of these. I
do not chase or study out “rabbit trail theologies”.  I am a Fundamental,
Creationist, conservative, Biblical-literalist, dispensational,
pre-millennial, Bob Jones University Graduate pastor.  This should answer
some of these questions.  I am certainly opposed to theistic evolution.

7) Do you consider yourself “called” to pastor Lighthouse in the sense that
you have a “divine calling” and therefore unaccountable to board members,
elders, deacons, including the congregation? Do you believe that pastors
should never be questioned on anything they preach?

I am certainly “called” by Christ who gave gifts to the church in Ephesians
6.  He is the Shepherd of the flock, the Pastor is the undershepherd of the
local assembly.  As Acts 6, our Deacons function to minister to the
spiritual and physical needs of the congregation.  Our deacons are trusted
advisors to the Pastor.  I listen closely to each one of them and run every
large decisions through them.  If there is opposition, I nearly always heed
their advice.  Our budget and major church decisions are brought to the
congregation for vote.  This is not a “kangaroo vote”, but a serious voice
of the Holy Spirit through the membership.

I do believe the Lord leads the church through the under-shepherd.  I am
very open to questions and welcome Biblical confrontation of “intreaty” I
Tim. 5:1 in the presence of witnesses.

8) Do you micro-manage the church and want control over everything said,
decided and done?

This and other questions seem to be specific and out of place questions in
response to hurts you have encountered before.  I don’t mind answering them,
but they are definitely responsive and should be experienced rather than
asked.  —- having said that, I am a Pastor of 18 years and have a record
of mentoring men and “growing them” into leadership.  My father was a
business man and I learned management at an early age.  I do not
micro-manage, but rather our 4 staff members and 40+ ministry leaders
function under management flow charts that clearly define responsibility and
the authority to manage their own ministries and lay staffs.

But….though I have said all this –  The buck does stop with the Pastor.  I
manage my Assistant Pastors and they have ministry leaders under them that
they manage.

9) Have you sponsored, participated in, or encouraged ecumenical gatherings?

NO.  We are an independent Baptist Church and I closely fellowship with only
doctrinally fundamental believers.

10) Do you or church members practice or condone Catholic prayer methods
such as “lectio divina”, walking labyrinths, chanting, prayer beads
(rosaries), silencing the mind, mantras, etc.?

I think you read more than I do – I don’t know any fundamental Baptists that
participate in any of this.

11) Do you expose and name false teachers, prophets, evangelists, and their
materials, writings and media?

Yes

12) Is the Catholic faith a Christian faith or a heathen cult like the
Mormon religion?

Catholicism is “C” option.  It is a heretical distortion and redefinition of
true Christianity.  It is damning in everyway and extremely deceptive in
logic and practice.  I have just completed a many-month active debate with a
University of DE professor who is also a Catholic Apologist.  He began
blogging against my sermons and critiquing nearly everything I preached
publicly.  He, unlike most Catholics knows his stuff very well, but trust
the interpretations of the Early Church Fathers more than comparing
Scripture with Scripture in the Epistles.  Catholicism is not salvation by
grace, though their apologists would certainly argue so.

***********And now, for my Questions:

1.  Do you have a history of moving through several churches in a short
time?

2.  Have you left a church angry and at odds with the Leadership (Pastor)?
(we do not accept anyone who is not right with their former Pastor unless it
is clearly a doctrinal issue)

3.  Have you been faithful in local church ministry? (serving in the local
church – Christ’s organization for N.T. times)

4.  Do you believe in the authority of local church leadership over you as
in “obey them that have the rule…submit for they watch for your souls….”

5.  Are you Fundamental in your doctrine – do you hold to the classic
fundamentals of the faith as outlined by R.A. Torrey and others through the
years?

6.  Do you believe and practice evangelism of the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

7.  Are you Armenian in your gospel view, reformed, or some balance?

8.  Do you seek a church that spends time on issues, or one that preaches
expositorally with systematic theology like Lighthouse?

9.  Are you looking for a church where you can receive attention, or a
church to give all glory to the Lord and to faithfully minister as a servant
without recognition or position?

Hope this answers some of your questions – I do understand your desire to
protect yourself, and I think the greatest way to do this is either begin
visiting to see for yourself, or listening to my sermons on our website.
Romans is the current series we are on.  I understand a lot of people are
burnt in even “fundamental” churches, but there is also a danger in being
overly “cautious”.  When/if you visit Lighthouse, ask the people what they
think of their church.  I know you will find joy.  The Lord has been very
good to our congregation and allowed people to greatly grow spiritually
under consistent Bible teaching and preaching.  Beyond this, we are a
“ministry” church, not a group of pew sitters.  We actively engage in loving
each other and getting involved into each other’s lives.  LBC is not a place
for someone who just wants to punch their card that they attended church.
We also engage in the poor with food and the gospel.  We also have great
care for the hurting among us such as “addicts”, unemployed, cancer
patients, etc.  We are hands on in every way.  Our Deacons each have “caring
groups” of the membership that they minister to in very compassionate ways.
This is something very important to me as well.  I love people.  My family
loves to be with people.  God has graciously given Amy and I 5 children that
are a blessing to us.  We desire to pour ourselves out in service to our
Worthy Savior and to help everyone we can with the gifts that He has
entrusted to us.

May the Lord guide your decisions, but I encourage you strongly to not
neglect the most necessary fellowship of other believers within the confines
of “Christ’s N.T. local church”.

Narcissists Who Cry: The Other Side of the Ego

EXCERPTS FROM:
Many of you have been in a relationship or been a friend with someone who was an extreme narcissist. These types of relationships are filled with drama unless you totally please the narcissist, which is impossible. The typical extreme narcissists are full of themselves and are overtly pompous.
A narcissist is a completely self-absorbed person. There can be no other gods in an extreme narcissist’s world, regardless if they say they believe in God or not. In practical terms, a narcissist is God in his/her own imagination. Ego rules supremely in the narcissist’s life.
Ultimately, the extreme narcissist feels he/she is most special and, therefore, entitled. To the extreme narcissist, people are actually things to use.
Because extreme narcissists are incredibly adept at the game of manipulation, they will always find a way to turn the tables on you. They will try to make you responsible and feel guilty for not helping them or taking their side and cause.
The moment they see that you don’t “fully” cooperate and act with extreme concern for them, serving and pampering them, they will eliminate you from their list of “loving” folks. They may even badmouth you and gossip or slander you as being selfish and uncaring.
Don’t be pulled into their web of emotional manipulation. Stay away from extreme narcissists.

“American “Christian” vindictiveness and viciousness is drawn out and put on parade through biblical acts of obedience taken by others. This one might seem counterintuitive at first. Why would those cheering on the persecution of obedient Christians desire for their own vindictiveness and viciousness to be drawn out and made plain for all to see?
.
Well, the short answer is: They wouldn’t.
.
But God is sovereign, and this “drawing out” and parading about of certain “Christians” and the false Christianity driving them is one of the reasons why this happens. All of this ultimately glorifies Him and all of this ultimately works to the benefit of His true people (see: Romans 8:28).”

EX LESBIAN, A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION FOR PASTOR TOBE WITMER ABOVE?

Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.”

EXCERPT: “Southern Baptist leader Russell Moore denounced reparative therapy, saying the controversial treatment that attempts to change a person’s sexual orientation has been “severely counterproductive.” Faithful Christian living demands obedience to biblical teaching, not automatic release from same-sex attraction, said Moore, president of Southern Baptists’ Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission“The utopian idea if you come to Christ and if you go through our program, you’re going to be immediately set free from attraction or anything you’re struggling with, I don’t think that’s a Christian idea,” Moore said. “Faithfulness to Christ means obedience to Christ. It does not necessarily mean that someone’s attractions are going to change.” Some pastors, like John Piper, a respected Minneapolis preacher and author, still encourage the possibility of change for those who have same-sex attractions.”
SEE: PARENTS & FRIENDS OF EX-GAYS & GAYS:
EXCERPT: I give thanks to God for Rosaria Butterfield’s conversion from unbelieving lesbian activist to faithful Christian witness. I don’t agree, though, with her buy-in to the view that there is a “sin of homophobia” any more than I buy in to the view of “incest-phobia” or “poly[amory]phobia.” Nor do I think she reads Romans 1:24-27 correctly in context when she suggests that Paul viewed homosexual practice as no worse than any other sin. And her category of a “reparative therapy heresy” is uninformed. Reparative therapy is not a “name it, claim it, pray the gay away” form of therapy. Quite the contrary. Nor does it presume that one will never again struggle with sexual temptation. Nor does it contend that becoming heterosexual is “a primary goal of Christianity.” It aims are more modest: To help persons with same-sex attractions to deal with emotional wounds that contributed to the intensity of such attractions. In this it is no different from numerous other valid therapies that seek to help Christians who struggle with depression, anger, insecurity, and various other intense sinful desires.

SPENT TWO YEARS IN DIALOG WITH A MARRIED PASTOR?
EXCERPTS:

“Homosexuality is a sin, but so is homophobia.
Homosexuality, then, is not the unpardonable sin.

Three Unbiblical Points

As I write and speak today, 14 years have elapsed since my queer activist days. I’m a new creature in Christ, and my testimony is still like iodine on starch. I’m sensitive to three unbiblical points of view Christian communities harbor when they address the issue of Christianity and homosexuality. Everywhere I go, I confront all three.
1. The Freudian position. This position states same-sex attraction is a morally neutral and fixed part of the personal makeup and identity of some, that some are “gay Christians” and others are not. It’s true that temptation isn’t sin (though what you do with it may be); but that doesn’t give us biblical license to create an identity out of a temptation pattern. To do so is a recipe for disaster. This position comes directly from Sigmund Freud, who effectually replaced the soul with sexual identity as the singular defining characteristic of humanity. God wants our whole identities, not partitioned ones.
2. The revisionist heresy. This position declares that the Bible’s witness against homosexuality, replete throughout the Old and New Testaments, results from misreadings, mistranslations, and misapplications, and that Scripture doesn’t prohibit monogamous homosexual sexual relations, thereby embracing antinomianism and affirming gay marriage.
3. The reparative therapy heresy. This position contends a primary goal of Christianity is to resolve homosexuality through heterosexuality, thus failing to see that repentance and victory over sin are God’s gifts and failing to remember that sons and daughters of the King can be full members of Christ’s body and still struggle with sexual temptation. This heresy is a modern version of the prosperity gospel. Name it. Claim it. Pray the gay away.”

I THOUGHT PLANNED PARENTHOOD PROTECTED FAMILY VALUES
by Rosaria Butterfield
July 21, 2015
SEE: http://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/i-thought-planned-parenthood-protected-family-valuesrepublished below in full unedited for informational, educational, and research purposes:
I was 11 years old when Roe v. Wade (1973) gave women a constitutional right to abortion. My parents told me a story to help me understand this momentous event.
Here was the content: a member of my family, whom I loved, once used her own knitting needles to abort a baby she knew she couldn’t afford to feed.
Here was the meaning: we were practical, hard-working Italians, and nothing was going to hinder us from achieving the American Dream for each and every family member.
This was a story of heroism. The woman was a matriarch who knew how to take control of her own womb, a loving mother who knew poverty and starvation were far worse than death before birth. This was also a story of a nation. Our country was advancing in its high regard for women, leaving the barbaric days of back-alley abortions and welcoming one where medical care came to the aid of heroic women like my beloved relative.

Grip of Old Family Values

This was one of the first times I remember history folding into future and holding me solidly in the grip of family values: we were a progressive family, and even our unschooled ancestors showed the grit and goodness of the progressive ideas we knew were best.
My family member was not a feminist. Although long dead, she would not want to be remembered this way. She was a poor woman abused by her husband and trapped by a life with too many children to feed. I was taught that the right to choose came to the aid of all women, but especially poor ones.
For most of my childhood and early adulthood, the name “Planned Parenthood” conjured feelings of safety and security. The institution represented for me and my family of origin a bedrock of civilization: a woman’s right to liberation from the oppression of bearing a child. As I understood it, because of Roe v. Wade a single mistake wouldn’t result in a lifetime of punishment for women. For as long as I can remember, my parents would designate Planned Parenthood as their end-of-the-year monetary donation.
We believed only third world countries would abandon women without medical solution to terminating pregnancy. Not only did abortion rights secure each person’s free right to consensual sex without impunity—a fundamental right of personhood, we believed—but it made the world a better place for children. Indeed, the sheer fact that the world was overpopulated and that “unwanted” children were subject to poverty and abuse proved abortion was good for both the environment and the family. It also seemed to us that the wrong people kept having babies—and lots of them—while educated people like our family knew to have only one child or two.
Long before I became a self-conscious feminist supporting the worldview of Planned Parenthood, I believed abortion was more than just some “necessary evil.” I believed abortion was a compelling good.

Frankenstein and Jesus

The goodness of abortion followed me through graduate school, when I wrote my dissertation on Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.
In 1818 Shelley, the 17-year-old child wife of poet Percy Shelley and the classically educated daughter of natural philosopher William Godwin and first feminist Mary Wollstonecraft, wrote a novel on a dare. Deeply influenced by natural philosopher and English physician Erasmus Darwin (grandfather of Charles),Frankenstein is about a bachelor who learns how to create life in a laboratory. The protagonist scientist, Victor Frankenstein, is raised by a progressive family, one that protects him from the foolish superstitions of organized Christian religion and affords him the best education in the natural sciences. He’s therefore unafraid to collect body parts from a church graveyard by dismembering bodies. The novel records how night after night he returns to the graveyard and hacks away until he has the bloody parts he needs. It’s base and gruesome work done in the name of higher-minded science. Frankenstein works hard to extract intact internal organs. He skimps on the skin, though, creating a creature whose skin doesn’t stretch to cover all his internal organs. Frankenstein’s “monster,” in spite of having natural science as its mother and receiving the very best Rousseauian education, is literally falling apart at the seams, his internal organs spilling out for the whole world to behold and ridicule.
Like Dr. Deborah Nucatola, senior director of medical services for Planned Parenthood, Dr. Victor Frankenstein understood the need for intact hearts.
Like Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Dr. Victor Frankenstein believed there’s no higher calling on the human body than the donation of tissue for scientific research.
And like both doctors, one fictional and one real, I followed in their footsteps.
Like Victor and Deborah, I wanted to control nature and believed I could with enough hutzpah and smarts.
And then I met Jesus Christ.
But when I was first converted, I did not understand why abortion was a sin.
I remember asking the women in church why Christians condemned abortion and celebrated capital punishment. I never heard a compelling argument.
And then, one day during worship, we sang Psalm 102 and it hit me between the eyes. Here was the line of my undoing: “And peoples yet uncreated shall praise and magnify the LORD” (Ps. 102:18). I got it: abortion is not a right or an entitlement. Abortion steals praise from God by denying image-bearers the opportunity to live through and for him. Abortion despises and attacks and destroys the image of God.
Yes, children must be protected from abuse, but abortion does not accomplish this.

What Could Have Been

Before committing suicide, Victor Frankenstein’s “monster” diagnoses his problem. He laments, “I, the miserable and the abandoned, am an abortion, to be spurned at, and kicked, and trampled on” (emphasis mine).
Frankenstein is an abortion novel. The “monster” declares he is an abortion—a present-tense, walking-and-talking, breathing-and-reading embodiment of a culture that values intact hearts but not the children who need them, and that values the all-cleaned-up Proverbs 31 woman but not the Mary Magdalene who precedes her.
The monster in Frankenstein is me—and you—and my sins are always so much worse than I confess. The wages of sin is death. It is always death—even if medical science promises the wages of sin is life.
I am a Christian now, and a wife and mom as well. All of my children are adopted, and all bore the label “unwanted” by somebody at one time. But their birth mothers loved them even when they could not raise them.
And today, as I reflect on the outrage of Planned Parenthood, I think of my life.
I could have been Dr. Deborah Nucatola. I was groomed to be her. I could have been videotaped pausing between bites of arugula salad and salmon to pontificate on the price of a dead baby’s intact heart and lungs.

Staying for the Long Haul

As I pause today to reflect on the outrage of Planned Parenthood, I think of Frankenstein’s monster. And the monster that I am. And for the life of me, I don’t understand how people like my beloved relative and her unborn child could have been helped apart from God’s people taking her and her kids into their home for long-term, real-life care. She needed more than a word in season. She needed the hands of God.
The worldview that redefines “personhood,” denies the God who created us, despises Jesus—the prophet whose wisdom knows no earthly bounds, the priest whose grace and sacrifice knows no earthly shackles, the king whose power and authority orchestrates the details of every life and every day—is the worldview manifested in the recent SCOTUS decision and the viral Planned Parenthood videos.
It was my worldview not too terribly long ago. And it would be my worldview now—if Jesus and his people hadn’t shown up in my life and stayed for the long haul.

This document says that Muslims and Christians worship the same God and claims that “the future of the world depends on peace between Muslims and Christians.” The statement says, “… we must engage in interfaith dialogue as those who seek each other’s good, for the one God unceasingly seeks our good” (http://www.yale.edu/faith/acw/acw.htm). It was signed by the two major evangelical church growth gurus in America, Rick Warren and Bill Hybels. In this act they joined hands with hundreds of other signatories, including Roman Catholics.”

“When Piper publicly interviewed Rick Warren in 2011, he showed his support for the Purpose Driven pastor’s doctrine when he stated: “At root I think he is theological and doctrinal and sound” (Cecil Andrews, “John Piper Invite to Rick Warren,” Take Heed Ministries, April 3, 2010). This caused much dismay for those who understand the underlying beliefs of “America’s pastor.” Rick Warren is a strong advocate and promoter for contemplative mystics (such as Henri Nouwen) and the spiritual formation movement (the vehicle through which contemplative is entering the Protestant church) (“Saddleback Is a Contemplative Church,” Lighthouse Trails, Jun. 16, 2008). So with John Piper’s embrace of Warren coupled with his apparent acceptance of Richard Foster, Piper students should be asking some prudent questions of their teacher. They should also dismiss the notion that we can distinguish between good and bad contemplative prayer. There is no such thing.”

HAS JOHN PIPER LOST HIS MIND?”

http://apprising.org/2013/01/05/has-john-piper-lost-his-mind/; republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, and research purposes:

So said my sister in a phone call shortly after the start of this year’s Passion Conference, taking place now in Atlanta, GA (Jan 1-4). I’m sure she said this with all due respect to Dr. Piper, who has long been looked to as a solid teacher of the Reformed tradition. And yet in recent years, Dr. Piper has gone about giving his stamp of approval to various and sundry teachers, many of them solid and trustworthy, but some of them quite dangerous.
This stamp of approval first reared its ugly head when Dr. Piper brought out a young whippersnapper named Mark Driscoll as his keynote speaker at a Desiring God conference, years ago. In 2006, to be exact. This was the same Driscoll who went on later to shock us with his pornographic divinations and his fascist like handling of church members.  And yet, no public rebuking or distancing has gone on, that I know of, between Dr. Piper and his protégé .
Then Rick Warren got Dr. Piper’s stamp of approval at the 2010 Desiring God Conference. Yes, that’s right, Rick Warren. To paraphrase my friend Pastor Bob DeWaay, what made this particular alliance so very shocking was that Dr. Piper, who has long been regarded as one of the faithful few guarding the flock against false teaching was the very one who had opened the pen gate and ushered the wolf (Warren) right into the fold of his Desiring God conference.
“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.” Matthew 7:15
“But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!” Gal 1:8
“Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what wea have worked for, but may win a full reward. Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.” 2 John 1:8-11
“I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.” Romans 16:17
Then, out came the approval stamp again at last year’s Passion 2012 Conference, when Dr. Piper stood benignly by on stage as Louie Giglio exhorted the audience members to “(hear) the voice of God speak,” during a Lectio Divina-ish type mystical exercise.
And now we have this year’s Passion 2013 Conference, currently underway in Atlanta, GA, at which John Piper is sharing the stage with false teachers Jesus Culture. Don’t know who Jesus Culture is? Oh well, let me fill you in: Jesus Culture is an offshoot group out of Bill Johnson’s heretical Bethel Church in Redding, CA. That’s right, the same Bill Johnson of the glory dust and the angel feathers fame.
“For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.” Titus 1:7-9
So why doesn’t Dr. Piper storm out on the stage like a man on fire and rebuke this madness? Or, he could leave the conference and write an eloquent and heartfelt apology for his part in confusing the flock in his care by knowingly linking with false teachers.  I’d be all for that. And yes, I get that he’s just a man, and no man is perfect. I’m not expecting perfection, but what I do desire to see is him seriously taking to heart the admonition in Scripture that not all should teach because those who do are judged more strictly (James 3:1). BUT, if Dr. Piper is unwilling to repent of going around giving false teachers his stamp of approval, then maybe one of our Godly pastors could fly to Minneapolis and wrestle the stamp away from him to keep him from further harming the flock. Just a thought.

Giglio, Chan, Moore and Piper return to Passion from last year and now we have sinfully ecumenical emerging musician David Crowder added to the mix. In closing this, for now, I’ll show you something that gives us real cause for concern in the seeming dangerous drift of Beth Moore and John Piper.
Following are clips from Session 5 of Passion 2012 where we were to enter into the silence to let God speak to us, not only through Scripture, but directly inside of us as well. However, this is language actually straight out of Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism and its crown jewel Contemplative/Centering Prayer (CCP), which is meditation in an altered form of consciousness.
QUOTES:
Why would Dr. John Piper, a Calvinist, want his followers exposed to this kind of man-centered, and blatantly false, mystical mumbo jumbo of Foster-Willardism? I wonder, could we actually be witnessing the rise of some kind of a Reformergence? In closing this, for now, you’re probably aware that John Piper has for some reason recently taken it upon himself to begin promoting the pragmatic semi-pelagian (at best) Church Growth Movement ministry of “Protestant” Purpose Driven Pope Rick Warren.
Both John Piper and Rick Warren are promoting the book Celebration of Discipline by Quaker mystic Richard Foster, who by following the approach to spirituality he teaches within, is nearly a universalist who is definitely sinfully ecumenical repudiating the Lord’s Protestant Reformers. Here’s what the aformentioned Dr. Gary Gilley has correctly stated concerning Foster’s magnum opus in his excellent series called Mysticism:
Celebration of Discipline alone, not even referencing Foster’s other writings and teachings and ministries, is a virtual encyclopedia of theological error.  We would be hard pressed to find in one so-called evangelical volume such a composite of false teaching.

WHEATON COLLEGE BETRAYS
ITS CHRISTIAN ORIGINS

Evangelical College Defends Decision to Allow Homosexual Student Group on Campus

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, and research purposes:

BY
WHEATON, Ill. – A prominent evangelical college is defending its decision to allow the formation of homosexual student group on campus.
Wheaton College is a private evangelical school located near Chicago. Established in 1860, the school enrolls approximately 3,000 students and operates under the motto “For Christ and His Kingdom.”
Due to the college’s Christian heritage, Wheaton’s Student Handbook requires all students to “abstain from … same-sex sexual behavior,” and the school’s Community Covenant condemns “homosexual behavior and all other sexual relations outside the bounds of marriage between a man and woman.” However, two groups of Wheaton-affiliated students and alumni have recently presented challenges to these policies.
OneWheaton encourages students to embrace their homosexuality
The first group, “OneWheaton,” seeks to “affirm LGBTQ individuals and the relationships that are a natural expression of their identity,” according to the group’s website. Members of OneWheaton maintain that same-sex sexual attraction is to be celebrated. In a letter distributed across the Wheaton campus in 2011, the organization encouraged students with same-sex attractions to emerge “from the closet” and embrace their homosexuality.
“We do not believe there is anything wrong with being gay,” the group said in a media release.
In response to OneWheaton’s 2011 letter, Wheaton President Philip Ryken released a statement that reaffirmed the school’s position on sexuality. In the statement, Ryken also acknowledged that “the needs of LGBTQ individuals present a particular challenge for institutions like Wheaton.” The group has not requested official campus recognition from Wheaton administrators.
Refuge offers community for homosexual students
The second group, “Refuge,” was formed to provide “a biblically faithful community” for students who believe they are homosexual, according to documentation from Wheaton. Unlike OneWheaton, Refuge was approved by Wheaton administration in 2013, thus becoming a first of its kind official student group on campus.
Wheaton Provost Stanton Jones said the formation of Refuge demonstrated that the school had “evolved” on the issue of homosexuality.
“The [Wheaton] Community Covenant does not condemn homosexuality; it condemns homosexual conduct as one example of sexual immorality,” Jones said, according to a report from The Wheaton Record. “So that’s one of the fundamental ways that we have to in a sense ‘clean up our language’ and try to be rigorous in the way that we think.”
Refuge’s homosexual founder
Justin Massey
Justin Massey
Refuge was founded by Justin Massey, an openly homosexual political science student who, according to reports, desired to also lay the groundwork for a “gay-straight alliance club” at Wheaton. Massey describes himself as a “gay Christian” and says his sexual identity is not only compatible with his faith, but “absolutely critical.”
“Regardless of our theology or political party,” Massey wrote in a column earlier this year, “let us praise God for His work and bring forward a new era of evangelicalism which embraces LGBT people as beloved children of God—worthy of inclusion and love.”
In mid-2014, about a year after Massey formed the group, Wheaton administrators reorganized Refuge from a student-led organization to a staff-led community club. Massey later told reporters that he was “absolutely angry” by the school’s decision to assume leadership of the group. Even though he was removed from his position of leadership, Massey graduated in Wheaton’s commencement ceremonies earlier this month.
Wheaton employs celibate lesbian to lead Refuge

Julie Rodgers
Soon after Wheaton assumed leadership of Refuge last year, the Wheaton Chaplain’s Office hired Julie Rodgers, a “celibate gay Christian,” to lead the group as student counselor. Rodgers believes God uses her homosexuality to glorify Him.
“As God has redeemed and transformed me, he’s tapped into those gay parts of me that now overflow into compassion for marginalized people and empathy for social outcasts—he’s used my gay way of being for His glory rather than making me straight,” Rodgers asserted on her personal blog last year.
On Twitter, Rodgers follows both Massey and OneWheaton. She also follows Vicky Beeching, who came out as a lesbian last year, and the Human Rights Campaign—a homosexual activist organization whose co-founder was recently jailed for sex abuse charges.
Wheaton clarifies school policies
Christian News Network contacted Wheaton to seek clarification on the school’s policy toward homosexuality. Dr. Paul Chelsen, Vice President for Student Development at Wheaton, told Christian News Network that Refuge was originally intended to be “a supportive community that holds to the biblical perspective on sexuality outlined in our Community Covenant.”
“At the end of spring semester of 2014, Refuge was reorganized from a student leadership structure to a staff leadership structure, in order to better serve the students involved,” Chelsen said. “Leadership transitions took place at that time. In contrast to student-led student clubs, Refuge is a community group under the leadership and oversight of the chaplain’s office.”
Chelsen told Christian News Network that Wheaton administrators “see no conflict” between the school’s Christian values and the homosexual community group.
“We see no conflict between our institutional standards and our attempts to support, whether individually or in groups, same-sex attracted individuals who concur with our biblically-grounded standards,” he stated.
President Ryken has spoken favorably of Rodger’s leadership of Refuge.
“The clear effect of Julie’s ministry has been to draw students in the direction of biblical faithfulness, including areas of sexuality,” he told WORLD.
However, while Ryken noted that “[t]he college does not have a position regarding the language that same-sex attracted Christians should use to describe their experience,” he said that students and faculty must “be clear that they do not advocate homosexual practice or find their identity in their sexuality.”
“Same-sex orientation is not good in and of itself, but is part of the brokenness of a fallen world,” he said.
In 2014, approximately 100 students protested outside as Rosaria Butterfield, a former lesbian turned pastor’s wife, shared her testimony during a Wheaton Chapel service.

‘Gay Rights’ vs. Religious Liberty: WND WhistleblowerReport Documents Victims of Homosexual Agenda

The list of “Victims of Homosexualism” continues to grow; little media sympathy for lives damaged by politically incorrect (pro-gay) “discrimination”

Crystal Dixon was fired by University of Toledo in 2008 after writing a column critical of comparing “homosexual rights” to the noble Black civil rights movement.
Folks, conservative and Christian pro-family advocates should avoid the pitfall of viewing the “gay rights” cultural battle narrowly, as merely between those whose work relates to the wedding business (bakers, photographers, etc.)–and homosexual militants trying to force them to participate in their same-sex “marriages.” That’s part of it, of course, but as you can see from this in-depth report I wrote for WND’s October 2013 Whistleblowermagazine, the crisis goes far deeper than that, and it predates cultural fights over homosexual “marriage.” Below I have added photos and a few updates to the original article, which itself wasrepublished by WND.com in November.
Since this report came out, other Christians like Coach Dave Daubenmire have become victims and targets of pro-homosexual bigotry and discrimination. Like those below, Coach Dave was smeared as a “hater,” “homophobe” and “bigot.” (We’re all painfully familiar with such vicious name-calling by “gay” activists–which is tolerated and often echoed by the compliant media.) Shame on us if we allow special “rights” based on a changeable, destructive sexual sin to displace our inalienable rights and liberties as Americans. God bless you. – Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH; e-mail: americansfortruth@gmail.com.
Please help circulate this report, and write Brad Wallace at AFTAH (connops@yahoo.com) if you would like a hard copy of it.

‘GAY’ POWER VS. RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Exclusive: Peter LaBarbera on how homosexual ‘rights’ is destroying freedom of conscience

Published online by WND.com, 11/29/2013
By Peter LaBarbera

“The legal struggle for queer rights will one day be a struggle between freedom of religion versus sexual orientation.” – Canadian lesbian lawyer Barbara Finlay, quoted by columnist John Leo and Janet Folger (Porter), The Criminalization of Christianity

There is a war between homosexual “rights” and Americans’ religious and First Amendment freedoms – and the “gay” activists are winning.
The “zero-sum game” is how homosexual activist law professor and Obama EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) appointee Chai Feldblum describes the legal battles between modern “rights” based on homosexual “orientation” (read: behavior) and the traditional American principle of religious liberty.
“Gays win, Christians lose,” Feldblum said, predicting homosexuals would win most of the legal contests. She is proving to be correct, as the news for Americans with traditional values gets worse by the year, due to rapidly escalating homosexual and transgender activist power in the legal, cultural, political and corporate arenas.
Following is a summary of cases involving battles between religious and moral freedom and homosexual activism. Some involve legal cases, others involve people who suffered privately for speaking out against the “gay” agenda. Others involve children whose rights (such as girls’ right to privacy) are violated in the name of “LGBT equality.”
In a sense, this could be called a list of the “Victims of Homosexualism”–that is, organized homosexuality. Though not comprehensive, its sheer scope illustrates what pro-family veterans have long known – but which the “gay”-cheerleading media fail to report as a major story: that “rights” based on homosexuality and gender confusion (“transgenderism”) cannot coexist with religious liberty.
First, a few observations:
    • These victims of escalating “Gay Tyranny” in America are not all tied to the question of homosexual “marriage.” Indeed, well before “gay marriage” came on the scene as a “mainstream” issue, pro-homosexual “sexual orientation” laws and corporate pro-LGBT policies were victimizing and punishing Christians and other moral opponents of homosexuality. And those laws are invariably used to argue for homosexuality-based “marriage.” The homosexualist agenda moves ahead incrementally, but “sexual orientation” laws and policies – and their philosophical presupposition that homosexuality is about innate “identity” (“who you are”) rather than changeable, wrong and aberrant behaviors (“what you do”) – is the foundation for the entire far-reaching LGBT agenda.
    • The pro-homosexual (and pro-atheist) legal war against the Boy Scouts of America was made possible by a "sexual orientation" law in New Jersey.

The pro-homosexual (and pro-atheist) legal war against the Boy Scouts of America was made possible by a “sexual orientation” law in New Jersey.

The most prominent example of the inherently discriminatory nature of pro-”gay” nondiscrimination laws (predating the entire homosexual “marriage” debate) is the Boy Scouts of America, who were initially challenged in 1990 by homosexual James Dale under a then-new “sexual orientation nondiscrimination” law in New Jersey. Ultimately, in 2000, the Dale case found its way to theU.S. Supreme Court, where the Scouts narrowly won their right not to have homosexual scoutmasters and members – only to toss away the fruits of their victory 13 years later by changing their rules under corporate pressure to allow openly homosexual Boy Scouts. (The Scouts still ban adult, openly homosexual scoutmasters, but pro-family experts predict that this prohibition will crumble – under continued “gay” activist pressure – now that the Scouts have sacrificed the moral principle that they had fought years to defend.)

    • It should also be recognized that oppression comes in many forms and from many quarters. Once professional institutions like the American Bar AssociationAmerican Association of Pediatrics and American Counseling Association adopt pro-LGBT “sexual orientation” codes, these policies become the basis for discriminating against people of faith.
    • These cases involve mostly higher-profile “victims.” What does not make the following list are everyday small businesspeople who, under an array of pro-homosexual laws and policies, are forced to effectively subsidize sexual behavior they regard as immoral. Thus, in a “gay marriage” state or in a big city with “sexual orientation” laws, business owners – much like the wedding cake makers below – are forced by the heavy hand of government to treat homosexually “married” or partnered employees as they would their normally married workers.
    • Also, countless employees and students have been forced to endure “gay tolerance” and pro-LGBT “diversity” programs that promote ideas with which they strongly disagree – a form of “soft tyranny” that most moral-minded employees have come to accept as the price of working in a big corporation. As is shown below, those who rock the politically correct boat invite persecution.
    • Lastly, note the irony that several of the victims below are black. [The late] Pastor Ken Hutcherson of Antioch Bible Church in Redmond, Wash., (a former NFL player who appears occasionally on the “Rush Limbaugh Show”) says, “Don’t compare your sin to my skin.” (Hutcherson is black.) Yet that is precisely what the expanding web of “sexual orientation” laws, executive orders and rulings from liberal judges is doing. By mandating “gay” (and transgender) tolerance as a basic, modern American value, the law and politically-correct U.S. corporations are rapidly making opposition to homosexuality and gender confusion anathema – even banning it – thus relegating Christians and defenders of historic Judeo-Christian moral truths to second-class, pariah status.
Following are summaries of some modern American “Victims of Homosexualism”:
  • California law allow boys in girls showers and restrooms: A radical new California law hailed by LGBT activists for “protecting transgender youth” will allow male students to use female restrooms and female locker rooms and shower facilities in California schools. AB 1266 violates the privacy rights of opposite-sex students in the name of transgender “equality.” Asks the pro-family Capitol Resource Institute: “What about the right to privacy of a junior high school girl wanting to go to the bathroom and having some privacy, or after PE showering and having to worry about being in the locker room with a boy?” AB 1266 also allows biologically born boys to play on girls’ sports teams (as long as they perceive their “gender” to be female). The bill is part of the escalating LGBT agenda to erase natural male-female gender differences and to accept the identity claims of gender-confused “trans’ advocates at face value. For example, pro-transgender activist Zach Ford of the liberal Think Progress had this to say in response to the law’s critics: “What many of these groups and individuals refuse to accept is that transgender youth are the same gender as their counterparts; they just happen to be trans.” Opponents plan to go to referendum to reverse the transgender law.
  • Elaine Huguenin

Elaine Huguenin and her husband Jon were fined $6,000 simply for declining to take photos at a lesbian “commitment ceremony” because it violated their Christian faith.

Christian photographers lose in New Mexico Supreme Court: If a unanimous decision against them by the New Mexico Supreme Court is not overturned, Christian photographers Jon and Elaine Huguenin – and countless other small businesses – will be required by the government to use their business to participate in – and thus help celebrate – homosexual “marriages.” In 2006, two lesbians sued the Huguenins under New Mexico’s “sexual orientation” law because they declined to take photos at the lesbians’ “commitment ceremony.” Elaine Huguenin later said, “The message a same-sex ceremony communicates is not one I believe.” In an Aug. 23, 2013, decision upholding a previous decision against the Christian photographers, the New Mexico high court ruled that the Huguenins – indeed any businessperson who interacts with the public – cannot refuse to do business with homosexuals. Interestingly, at least one pro-homosexual-”marriage” group, the libertarian CATO Institute, working with “gay” legal activist Dale Carpenter, submitted an amicus brief defending the Huegenins’ right to their own creative expression.

  • Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association (New Jersey): In 2007, two lesbians,Harriet Bernstein and Luisa Paster, decided they wanted to hold their “commitment ceremony” at the boardwalk pavilion of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association– which describes itself as “God’s Square Mile at the Jersey Shore.” The Methodist-run Ocean Grove is overtly Christian and plays host to many Christian ministry gatherings. The New Jersey Department of Civil Rights ruled against Ocean Grove on “discrimination” grounds, but the lesbians sought no punitive damages. Much like the Catholic adoption agencies pushed into closure by pro-homosexual policies (see below), Ocean Grove pulled out of the wedding-hosting business so as not to be forced to become a part of celebrating homosexual unions condemned by the Bible.
  • Hawaiian B&B forced to “accommodate” lesbians despite owner’s religious objections: As WORLD magazine reported in April 16, 2013: “Two Southern California lesbians have won their legal battle against a Christian bed and breakfast owner in Hawaii. … The Hawaii First Circuit Court judge ruled on April 11 that the owner of Aloha Bed & Breakfast violated state law when she told Taeko Bufford and Diane Cervellishe was not comfortable having them stay together in her home because of her religious beliefs. … According to the ruling, the bed and breakfast violated the state public accommodations law [barring discrimination based on ‘sexual orientation’] and is ordered, from now on, to provide a room to any same-sex couple that wishes stay there.”
  • Illinois Christian B&B owner faces lawsuit after telling “gay” activists, “We will never host same-sex civil unions”: Jim and Beth Walder own a beautiful bed-and-breakfast in Paxton, Ill., just outside Champaign, home to the University of Illinois. But their lives were forever changed when, on Feb. 15, 2011, homosexual activist Todd Wathen – anticipating enactment of Illinois “civil unions” law – sent them an email: “Do you plan on doing same sex civil unions starting June 1st?” Jim Walder wrote back: “No. We only do Weddings.” After more back-and-forth, Walder even sent Wathen an email imploring him to consider what God says about his homosexual lifestyle:

I know you don’t want to hear this, but I thought I would send along a couple of verses in Romans 1 detailing how the Creator of the Universe looks at the gay lifestyle. It’s not [too] late to change your behavior. He is loving and kind and ready to forgive all men their trespasses, including me.

But far from wanting to change his own behavior, Todd Walthen instead was preparing to use the power of the State – specifically Illinois’ “Human Rights Act” – to change Walder’s. The homosexual activist’s ACLU-assisted court filing reads: “As a result of Respondent’s violation of the Act, Complainant has suffered substantial mental and emotional distress as well as the stigmatizing injury and deprivation of personal dignity that accompanies denials of equal access to places of public accommodation.” Walthen seeks monetary damages, attorneys’ fees and “an order directing [the Walders] to cease and desist from any violation” of the homosexual-affirming Human Rights Act.

  • Wildflower Inn in Vermont >pays settlement to lesbians and shuts down wedding reception business: The American Civil Liberties Union teamed up with the Vermont Human Rights Commission to win a settlement in August 2012 by which theWildflower Inn in Lyndonville, Vt., agreed to pay a $10,000 civil penalty to two lesbians. Ming Linsley and Kate Baker were told (apparently by mistake) that the inn would not host their lesbian “wedding” reception. (They found another venue for their ceremony.) The settlement also requires the inn’s owners to place $20,000 in a charitable trust for the lesbians. The Huffington Post reports “the inn also agreed it would no longer host weddings and their receptions.” In 2005, the inn had agreed it would hold homosexual “wedding” receptions but in doing so would make clear its religious opposition to such celebrations. “All families should feel welcome at any resort that’s open to the public,” Linsley said in a statement.
  • Christian "Sweet Cakes" bakery owners Aaron and Melissa Klein were harassed by "gay" activists and forced to close down their street store because they refused to bake a cake for a homosexual "wedding."

“Sweet Cakes by Melissa” bakery owners Melissa and Aaron Klein were harassed by homosexual activists and the State of Oregon–and ultimately driven to close down their storefront operation–because they refused as Christians to bake a cake for a lesbian “wedding” in 2013.

“Sweet Cakes” Bakery shuts down in Oregon after refusing to bake for “gay wedding”: Aaron and Melissa Klein, owners of “Sweet Cakes by Melissa” bakery in Gresham, Ore., became the targets of a state investigation, a “gay” boycott and some vicious attacks after they declined to make a “wedding” cake for two lesbians in January 2013. The Kleins ultimately decided to shut down their storefront operation to evade potential prosecution. Homosexual activists targeted the Kleins’ distributors, sent hateful messages to the couple and sought to portray them as hypocritical, anti-gay bigots. One activist even created a fake Facebook account for Sweet Cakes that portrayed the Kleins as racists. The couple will still sell baked goods, but only from their home.

Following are other cases involving wedding cake makers, florists and banquet halls who refused to allow their businesses to be used for the celebration of homosexual “marriages”:
  • Just Cookies (Indiana): In 2012, owners of this cookie stand in the Indianapolis City Market refused to fill a special order by phone for “rainbow cookies” for a Purdue University-Indianapolis “gay” student group. Liberal activists charged “discrimination” under the city’s “sexual orientation” law and sought to pressure the market to drop its lease for Just Cookies. They failed, and the owners ultimately settled with the city (without paying damages) over violating the “gay”-affirming nondiscrimination code.
  • Masterpiece Cakes (Colorado): The Colorado attorney general has filed a formal complaint against this bakery for refusing – on religious grounds – to make a “gay” wedding cake.
  • Victoria’s Cake Cottage (Iowa): Owner Victoria Childress refuses to provide a wedding cake for a homosexual couple out of “convictions for their lifestyle.”
  • Fleur Cakes (Oregon): Another Oregon bakery joins Sweet Cakes in refusing to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.
  • Arlene’s Flowers (Washington): As the liberal Think Progress reports: “Washington florist Barronelle Stutzman refused to provide the flowers for the wedding of a same-sex couple who had long frequented her shop because of her ‘relationship with Jesus Christ.’ She now faces two lawsuits:one from the couple, and one from the state attorney generalfor violating state law.”
  • Liberty Ridge Farm (New York): The business refuses to allow its property to be rented out for a lesbian “wedding.”
  • All Occasion Party Place (Texas): A Fort Worth venue refuses, out of the owners’ loyalty to their religious beliefs, to rent out a banquet hall for a homosexual “wedding” reception.
  • Craig James fired by Fox Sports Southwest after GOP debate tape shows him expressing Christian beliefs in opposition to homosexual “marriage” (September 2013): In a 2012 Republican primary debate for U.S. senator in Texas, former football star Craig James in answering a question said homosexuality is a choice and that homosexuals will have to answer to the Lord for the sin of homosexual “marriage.” The existence of that debate video apparently was enough to get James fired within weeks of being hired by Fox Sports Southwest as a college football analyst. A Fox spokesman told the Dallas Morning News, “We just asked ourselves how Craig’s statements would play in our human resources department. … He couldn’t say those things here.” James says he was fired over his religious beliefs, and his case has parallels with Allstate’s 2005 firing of Matt Barber (see below).
  • Should a Christian T-shirt maker be forced to make “gay pride” apparel? Hands On Originals says no (Kentucky): A Christian-owned T-shirt company (Hands On Originals) ran afoul of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Human Rights Commission when it refused to print “gay pride” designs for a local homosexual group, the Gay and Lesbian Services Organization (GLSO). If the case cannot be settled, the next phase is a “public hearing” in which the government commission represents GLSO against Hands On, which is being defended by Alliance Defending Freedom. ADF attorney Jim Campbell says, “Americans in the marketplace should not be subject to legal attacks simply for abiding by their beliefs. … The Constitution prohibits the government from forcing business owners to promote messages they disagree with.” Another local T-shirt company donated 500 T-shirts to GLSO with the “gay pride” message they wanted – showing that the homosexual activist group could easily have sought out and ordered them from a company whose owners are not opposed to celebrating homosexual relationships.
  • Angela McKaskill was fired and then reinstated by Gaulludett University after she signed a petition to a pro-traditional marriage amendment on the ballot in Maryland.

Dr. Angela McCaskill was suspended by Gallaudet University after she signed a petition to place a pro-traditional marriage amendment on the ballot in Maryland. After widespread protests she was later reinstated.

Dr. Angela McCaskill (Gallaudet University, Maryland) learns that “diversity” apparently does not include supporting traditional marriage: In another stunning example of pro-homosexual intolerance, McCaskill – chief diversity officer and the “first deaf African-American female to earn a Ph.D. from Gallaudet University” (as her university bio states) – was suspended and put on paid leave after it was discovered she signed a petition to put same-sex “marriage” up for a statewide referendum in 2012. The case of McCaskill – who had worked 20 years at Gallaudet – gained wide coverage and sympathy even among liberals who support homosexual “marriage.” McCaskill was reinstated at the historic university in January of 2013.

  • Eastern Michigan University settles case with Julea Ward, a Christian who was kicked out of counseling program for opposing homosexuality:EMU had informed Julea Ward, who as a Christian did not wish to affirm the homosexual lifestyle in counseling, that she could only stay in the university’s graduate counseling program if she agreed to undergo a pro-homosexual “remediation” program. (Notably, EMU cited pro-homosexual standards set by the American Counseling Association to justify its actions taken against Ward.) When Ward, who is black, refused, she was booted. That did not sit well with the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, which in a December 2012 opinion written by Judge Jeffrey Sutton stated, “Tolerance is a two-way street. Otherwise, the rule mandates orthodoxy, not anti-discrimination.” Rather than appeal the case, EMU settled with Ward and her ADF attorneys, paying her $75,000 – while stubbornly asserting that “the resolution of the lawsuit leaves the University’s policies, programs and curricular requirements intact.”On a positive note, in 2010 Michigan’s House passed the “Julea Ward Freedom of Conscience Act,” which forbids public colleges and universities from discriminating against or disciplining students participating in counseling, social work and psychology programs “because the student refuses to counsel or serve a client as to goals, outcomes, or behaviors that conflict with a sincerely held religious belief of the student, if the student refers the client to a counselor who will provide the counseling or services.”
  • Jennifer Keeton loses counseling school challenge at Augusta State: In a case similar to Ward’s, a Georgia court has dismissed a lawsuit by a former counseling student who was ordered by Augusta State University to complete remedial training after expressing her anti-gay views.Jennifer Keeton sued ASU in 2010 after faculty members told her she couldn’t complete the degree program if she did not complete a remediation plan, which included attending diversity workshops, reading articles about counseling lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students and submitting monthly writing assignments.
  • Christian Legal Society loses right to disallow homosexual members at UC-Hastings: Can a public university treat a Christian organization unlike other campus groups because it upholds the Bible’s standard against homosexuality? In a 5-4 ruling in 2010, the U.S. Supreme Court said yes, upholding U-C Hastings College of Law’sdenial of official recognition to the Christian Legal Society. CLS requires all its members to forswear “unrepentant participation in or advocacy of a sexually immoral lifestyle” (sex outside marriage). Gregory Baylor, an attorney for Alliance Defending Freedom, which defended CLS, cautioned that the Supreme Court ruling focused only on a narrow portion of UC-Hastings’ policy – that all student groups must adhere to the same nondiscrimination policy. “The court did not adjudicate whether the application of nondiscrimination policies to a religious student group is constitutional,” Baylor said.
  • Freedom to procure pro-heterosexual change therapy loses in California and New Jersey: In two big hits against liberty and parental rights, California and New Jersey have enacted laws banning the seeking of “reparative therapy” for minors. The California law, SB 1172, survived a court challenge by the Christian legal group Liberty Counsel. It reads: “Under no circumstances shall a mental health provider engage in sexual orientation change efforts with a patient under 18 years of age, regardless of the willingness of a patient, patient’s parent, guardian, conservator, or other person to authorize such efforts.” Critics of both measures are calling them “Jerry Sandusky laws” because they would ban youth (and their parents) from seeking explicitly pro-heterosexual therapy even for minors who have been sexually molested by a homosexual predator. (Many admitted “gay” adults such as CNN anchor Don Lemon testify to having been homosexually molested as children.)In New Jersey, the anti-reparative-therapy law was passed even after an LGBT activist who testified in support of the bill was exposed for telling grotesque lies about the existence of abusive ex-gay conversion camps in Ohio – which never existed. Strangely, those who are adamantly “pro-choice” on abortion are “anti-choice” when it comes to the freedom of people to pursue a life apart from homosexuality. See next item.
  • SPLC lawyers target JONAH, a Jewish group that helps men and women overcome homosexuality:In addition to legislation, the pro-LGBT left is using lawsuits as part of its campaign to put “ex-gay” and pro-change therapists out of business. The well-funded Southern Poverty Law Center is suing purveyors of “reparative therapy” – pro-heterosexual-change therapy for men and women with unwanted same-sex attractions. The SPLC’s first target is JONAH, Jews Offering New Alternatives to Homosexuality. In announcing its case against JONAH, the SPLC claimed in 2012, “The lawsuit describes how the underlying premise of conversion therapy – that a person can ‘convert’ to heterosexuality – has no basis in scientific fact.” However, JONAH has helped people overcome or manage homosexual desires – and examples of men and women who once considered themselves “gay” or “lesbian” abound. Here are just a few of the public “ex-gays” (and for every one of these there are perhaps thousands who do not advertise their former homosexual identity): Frank Worthen; Greg Quinlan; Stephen Black; Charlene Cothran; Dennis Jernigan; Yvette Cantu Schneider; Linda Jernigan; Christopher Yuan; Rosaria Butterfield; Michael Glatze; Anne Paulk and Andrew Franklin. The war against “ex-gays” and pro-heterosexual change efforts for youth – perhaps more than any other recent action by the homosexual activist lobby – reveals its inherent totalitarianism. The same activists who refuse to acknowledge the overwhelming evidence that homosexual behavior is unhealthy – e.g., a CDC report on 2011 data found that 94-95 percent of all HIV cases among boys and young men ages 13-24 were linked to homosexual sex – are now crusading to stop young people from pursuing ex-”gay” change. Chuck Limandri – the pro-family attorney who in 2009 helped San Diego firefighters win a lawsuit against their city after being forced to participate in San Diego’s highly sexualized “gay pride” parade – said regarding the SPLC’s lawsuit:

SPLC is grotesquely misusing consumer fraud laws to try to shut down counseling services to Jews with same-sex attractions, and to intimidate other therapists, ministries and service providers across the country. … Individuals with same-sex attraction have a right to seek counseling to live their lives as they choose. It is a matter of self-determination.

For the record, this is the same SPLC that has smeared numerous pro-family groups – such as Americans For Truth About Homosexuality, Family Research Council and American Family Association – as “hate groups” on a par with racist and anti-Semitic groups like Aryan Nation and the KKK. (See next item).

  • Homosexual activist Floyd Corkins planned to massacred employees of the Family Research Council at FRC's Washington, D.C. headquarters. Corkins targeted FRC based on their inclusion on the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center's spurious "hate group" list.

Homosexual activist Floyd Corkins planned to massacre employees of the Family Research Council at FRC’s Washington, D.C. headquarters–and stuff his victims’ mouths with Chick-fil-A sandwiches. Corkins targeted FRC based on their inclusion on the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center’s spurious “hate group” list.

Family Research Council shooter Floyd Corkins – who relied on SPLC “Hate Map” – gets 25 years for attempted mass-murder: If it weren’t for the heroics ofLeo Johnson, homosexual activist Floyd Corkins might have committed mass murder when he stormed the Family Research Council’s Washington, D.C., headquarters in 2012. (Corkins found FRC listed on an online “hate map” published by the Southern Poverty Law Center, which lists FRC and various other pro-family organizations as “hate groups” because they oppose the homosexual activist agenda.) Corkins had planned to shoot as many FRC staffers as possible and then jam a Chick-fil-A sandwich in the mouths of his victims, but Johnson wrestled his gun away from him, getting shot in the arm in the scuffle. Incredibly, pro-homosexual activists led by the SPLC continue to smear FRC as a “hate group” despite the near-massacre that almost transpired partially as a result of that defamatory “hate group” classification.

  • SPLC and feds pressure Minnesota school district to affirm homosexuality: The Obama administration’s Department of Justice teamed up with the far-left SPLC and another homosexual activist group to pressure the Anoka-Hennepin School District, outside of Minneapolis, to jettison its “neutrality” policy on homosexuality and replace it with a pro-homosexual policy – ostensibly to combat “anti-gay bullying.” A propaganda campaign was waged against the school district, portraying conservatives as hateful bigots and grossly exaggerating the number of allegedly homosexual students who committed suicide. Anoka-Hennepin buckled in the face of the immense resources stacked against it – both the SPLC and the U.S. Department of Justice. Pro-family advocates fear the DOJ-SPLC campaign against the Minnesota school district will become a blueprint for similar federal actions against school districts that do not wish to affirm homosexuality among students.
  • Black woman in Chicago drummed out of Roosevelt College’s Master’s Degree Education program for voicing politically incorrect views on homosexuality: Ms.Gillian John-Charles is a single mom, a mathematics teacher and an African American who had been enrolled in Roosevelt University’s EdD program since 2009. In October 2010, in a class discussion led by a liberal professor who apparently had an ideological axe to grind, John-Charles said she does not believe homosexuals are born “gay.” As the professor’s mistreatment against her escalated, she describes in a legal complaint how he bullied her by falsely accusing her of having a “negative and disparaging” view of gay people – though she stated clearly in class that, as a teacher, she treats all her students with the same respect without regard to “sexual orientation.” Within a year of the initial classroom incident, John-Charles was expelled from the doctoral program, citing unsatisfactory academic performance (despite her 3.51 GPA). She is now contemplating formal litigation against Roosevelt University.
  • California homosexual lawmaker targets nonprofit status of ‘anti-gay’ organizations: Democratic homosexual lawmaker Ricardo Lara is working hard to win passage of landmark legislation, SB 323, that would deny tax-exempt status in California to any nonprofit youth organization that “discriminates” against homosexuals or transgenders. This is an ominous piece of legislation for the pro-family movement because it shows that “gay” activists are unafraid to use the tax code to punish organizations (and people) that disagree with their agenda.
  • Proposed San Antonio law intended to ban Christians from serving in government if they had ever demonstrated “bias” against homosexuals: A newly enacted “sexual orientation nondiscrimination” law in San Antonio takes the potential oppression arising from pro-LGBT laws to new lows. The law – which was modified several times to appease critics – included in one iteration language that would bar Christians or moral foes of homosexual “marriage” from ever getting a job in San Antonio government: “No person shall be appointed to a position if the City Council finds that such person has, prior to such proposed appointment, engaged in discrimination or demonstrated a bias, by work or deed, against any person, group, or organization on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, age, or disability.” What is stunning is that such language would even be introduced when less stringent “sexual orientation” laws like New Jersey’s and New Mexico’s have already been used to punish moral-minded youth organizations like the Boy Scouts and private businesses run by Christians.
  • Portland bar owner fined $400,000 for excluding transsexual men who were using the women’s restroom: Chris Penner, owner of the Twilight Room Annexbar in Portland, was recently fined $400,000 under the Oregon Equality Act for banning several “transgender” (biological) males from his establishment. The men – who would dress as the women they were pretending to be – were alienating other customers by using the women’s restroom. According to the state complaint against Penner, he left a message with one of the “transgenders” saying that: “People think that a) We’re a tranny bar or b) We’re a gay bar. We are neither. People are not coming because they just don’t want to be here on a Friday night now.” The Seattle Times reports that eleven people – who apparently call themselves the “T-girls” – “will get the money, with awards ranging from $20,00 to 50,000.”
  • Scott Lively is being sued by left-wing activists for "Crimes Against Humanity" for speaking as a Christian pro-family advocate in Uganda.

Scott Lively is being sued by left-wing activists for “Crimes Against Humanity” for speaking as a Christian pro-family advocate in Uganda.

Massachusetts judge allows international “Crimes Against Humanity” lawsuit to proceed against Christian advocate and pastor Scott Lively: In one of the most frightening cases advanced by aggressive homosexualists, U.S. District JudgeMichael Ponsor has allowed a left-wing harassment lawsuit accusing veteran pro-family advocate Scott Lively of “crimes against humanity” to proceed in his U.S. court. For years, homosexual militants have spread lies about Lively’s work in Uganda, where he and several other Christians spoke against the threat of homosexual activism in that largely Christian nation. He was accused of being the mastermind behind a draconian Ugandan bill whose provisions he did not even ultimately support. Lively rarely bothered to answer the “gay” lies, in part because they were so absurd. A Ugandan homosexual activist group, SMUG (Sexual Minorities Uganda) teamed up with a notorious leftist American group, the Center for Constitutional Rights (which also defends accused Islamic terrorists held by the United States in Guantanamo Bay) to sue Lively under theAlien Tort Statute. The case is preposterous, but could drain resources from Lively and intimidate other Christians from speaking out against homosexuality, here in America and abroad. Says Lively: “I am being judged according to a European legal standard in my own federal court system for speech that is 100 percent protected in both America and Uganda. … This case has enormous implications for First Amendment rights here at home and abroad, for the supremacy of our Constitution over foreign law, for Christian values under international law, and for the future power of homosexual activists to crush anyone who stands in the way of their global agenda.”

  • Matt Barber, fired by Allstate for opposing ‘gay’ agenda, now a pro-family leader: In 2005, Matt Barber was fired by Allstate Insurance Company for allegedly using a company laptop to write a column against homosexuality (which violated Allstate’s “diversity” standards). Barber sued Allstate and ultimately settled the case. Though not vengeful, Barber did get back at Allstate, in a way: He is now a popular conservative writer and is associate dean of the Liberty University School of Law, as well as vice president of Liberty Counsel Action. [Barber also recently launched the conservative news site, Barbwire.net.]
  • Catholic Church shuts down adoption agencies in Massachusetts and Illinois due to pro-homosexual laws: In Illinois, a tragic casualty of state’s “civil union” law was the closure of the Catholic Church’s adoption program in Chicago. Catholics oppose adoption by homosexuals. This followed a similar story in Massachusetts, in which the Catholic Church shut down a successful adoption agency following the state supreme court’s imposition of “gay marriage” – rather than being forced to place children in homosexual-led households.
  • Judge dismisses Crystal Dixon case (University of Toledo, Ohio): Dixon was a University of Toledo human resources employee who was fired in 2008 after writing column critical of “homosexual rights.” A black Christian, she argued that those choosing to embrace a homosexual lifestyle are not “civil rights victims.” In December 2012, a federal judge dismissed her lawsuit. Dixon reportedly is appealing to the case to the U.S. Supreme Court.
  • The Shedds lose a business after a homosexual boycott (Kentucky): Back in 1995, David Shedd was fired from his position as president of a lucrative Miller Beer distributorship in Louisville, Ky. – after homosexual activists launched a successful boycott against the company. Their beef? David’s wife, Donna, was involved with the local affiliate of Eagle Forum, which is headed up by conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly and is strongly pro-life and pro-traditional-marriage.
Peter LaBarbera, formerly a journalist for the Washington Times, is the founder and president of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality, online at AFTAH.com.

“It’s about liberty, not fake rights”
EXCERPT:
“Cutting through the lies and distortions of the Left, we can see that this all boils down to liberty versus tyranny. You don’t have a right to force me to violate my conscience by affirming your sinful behavior with the work of my hands, period! Homosexual activists and others who oppose measures to protect freedom of conscience, religion and association are, wittingly or not, on the side of tyranny.”

SOUTHERN BAPTIST APOSTASY: NEW DOCUMENTARY EXPOSES ALBERT MOHLER’S GAY AGENDA & UNBIBLICAL TWISTING OF SCRIPTURE

SOUTHERN BAPTIST APOSTASY:
THE ONE HOUR DOCUMENTARY:
The purpose of this video is to evaluate the teaching of Dr Albert Mohler, president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, on the subject of homosexuality. Mohler is encouraging the Church to embrace the issue of sexual orientation, a psychological concept that is entirely without biblical warrant. He accuses evangelicals of having lied about the nature of homosexuality and of practicing a form of homophobia. He fully supports the ministry of same-sex attracted Sam Allberry, a Church of England priest. His position is similar to that of the gay agenda, which seeks to normalize homosexuality in society and the Church.
MOHLER, ALLBERRY & MOORE: “TOGETHER”,
BUT IT’S NOT THE TRUE GOSPEL!
NEW DOCUMENTARY EXPOSES
ALBERT MOHLER’S GAY AGENDA
SEE: https://pulpitandpen.org/2020/02/05/new-documentary-exposes-mohlers-gay-agenda/republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
Some believe that Southern Baptist Seminary President and likely upcoming SBC President, Albert Mohler, is a hero of the Conservative Resurgence. In fact, Mohler is no hero for conservative causes. A more careful examination of Albert Mohler reveals he has overseen a hostile takeover of the SBC by Critical Race Theorists, feminists, and Cultural Marxists and has platformed the most radical woke Social Gospel advocates under the sun. While saying one thing, Mohler has proven himself to almost always be doing the opposite of what he preaches.
One of the more tragic aspects of Mohler’s compromise is on the subject of the ‘gay Christian’ movement. Evangelicalism has been bombarded by homosexual “experts” on human sexuality who pretend to be believers but who are not set free of their queer desires. Mohler has embraced these “Same-Sex Attracted” self-promoting faux-martyrs and bid them swift godspeed to corrupt the church.
Dr. E.S. Williams has produced a new documentary about Mohler’s gay agenda, which you can read about in the press release below.
Dr. ES Williams, a member of Charles Spurgeon’s Metropolitan Tabernacle in London, in collaboration with respected researcher, Reverend Thomas Littleton, has produced a new video titled Albert Mohler and the Gay Revolution. Drawing heavily from Mohler’s own words, a strong case is made that the President of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary has strayed from historical, biblical teachings on one of the most important cultural issues of the day.

The facts uncover that Mohler is playing into the hands of a pro-homosexual ideology that has contributed to the undermining of the family and the culture at large. Mohler’s comments reveal his view that the Church must appropriate sexual orientation, a psychological concept that is without biblical warrant.

Dr. Williams states, “As we shall see in this video, Mohler’s position today is similar to that of the gay agenda, which seeks to normalize homosexuality.” Williams also points out that in spite of a 2005 position held by Mohler declaring that the modern concept of sexual orientation opens the door for the homosexual lobby to reinterpret the meaning of Scripture, a decade later Mohler has changed his mind; we see a compromised man who radically changed his position. Similarly, the video shows that Mohler uses the language and tactics of the progressive left to accuse those who disagree by calling them “homophobic.”

Albert Mohler has made repeated public statements exposing his theological drift from sound, biblical doctrine. He makes a very strong defense of his 2011 article from The Christian Science Monitor where he accuses evangelicals of having “lied about the nature of homosexuality.” He also belittles those who adhere to a conservative viewpoint on homosexuality, claiming it “can only be described as a form of homophobia…” In other venues, he has indicated that the traditional, conservative Christian viewpoint on homosexuality is “rooted in ignorance and fear.”

Mohler’s full support of the same-sex attracted narrative is also shown in his promotion of the book “Is God anti-gay?” written by Sam Allberry, a same-sex attracted priest in the Church of England. Allberry has publicly described himself as having “sexual, romantic and deep emotional attractions to people of the same sex,” and his book claims to offer a positive and liberating way forward for the same-sex attracted. Mohler applauds the ministry of Allberry and stresses that his book is full of “biblical wisdom.”

In contrast to the secular worldview espoused by Mohler, Dr. Williams affirms the biblical response stating, “Same-sex attraction, which Mohler wants the Church to embrace, is a sterile, unnatural perversion that denies the creation of God.”

The evidence outlined in this video makes a compelling argument that Albert Mohler’s accommodation to progressive ideologies and worldviews will not only destroy the Southern Baptist Convention, but indicates that Mohler’s theological error is a direct attack on what the Word of God declares regarding the sin of homosexuality.
