In 1993, Ibrahim Hooper, director of strategic communications for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), said that, “I wouldn’t want to create the impression that I wouldn’t like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future. But I’m not going to do anything violent to promote that. I’m going to do it through education.” Twenty-five years later, CAIR could be making headway on that goal, through its relationships with US public school districts in at least three states.
CAIR — an Islamist group and United Arab Emirates-designated terrorist organization that bills itself as a defender of civil rights — has achieved special concessions for Muslim students and launched the inappropriate insertion of religion into publicly-funded education. Meanwhile, pushback from parents and outside organizations is building.
Seattle Public Schools’ partnership with CAIR’s Washington chapter is the latest incident to cause controversy, but the relationship dates back to at least 2011, when CAIR-WA sent the district a letter proposing accommodations for Muslim students and classroom lessons on Islam. Then as now, CAIR-WA claimed to be fighting “anti-Muslim bullying.” To that end, in 2012 and 2013 the organization contacted the school district to complain about “Islamophobia” among teachers.
That approach eventually paid off. In a Ramadan crowd-funding campaign in May of this year, the CAIR-WA chapter outlined its plan “to provide educational training for teachers and staff on things like Ramadan, Eid, and how educators can support Muslim students in the classroom.” Accordingly, that same month, CAIR-WA ran a “professional development session” in a Seattle high school that “addressed providing identity-safe spaces in schools for Muslim families” and “how to support students during Ramadan.”
In July, the Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund (FCDF), a legal advocacy group, sent a letter to the Seattle school district warning that partnering with CAIR and “discriminating in favor of students based on their religion” was a violation of the First Amendment that, if continued, would lead to legal action. (This was no empty threat: CAIR’s National Executive Director, Nihad Awad, admitted in 2016 that distributing the group’s publications to schools is “both a religious and educational exercise.”) FCDF then filed a public records request asking for emails between school officials and CAIR staff.
In a similar situation, the FCDF sued the San Diego Unified School District in 2017 on behalf of several local parents, alleging that its relationship with CAIR set up a “subtle, discriminatory scheme that establishes Muslim students as the privileged religious group.” That partnership began with an all-too-familiar “anti-Islamophobia bullying initiative” developed by CAIR’s San Diego chapter, focusing on Muslim holidays, “safe spaces” for Muslim students, and staff training about Muslim culture.
On the advice of its lawyers, the San Diego school board voted in 2017 to sever its ties with CAIR, but the FCDF filed an injunction in February alleging that the relationship was ongoing and calling for the release of all related correspondence. (Meanwhile, another California school district, Cajon Valley Union, is currently under pressure from CAIR to adopt its anti-bullying programs.)
Although no formal agreement yet exists, CAIR is following this same pattern with school districts in Minnesota, particularly Minneapolis, due to its large Somali refugee population. The organization’s local chapter, CAIR-MN, filed a complaint in 2010 with the US Department of Education alleging harassment of Muslim students, although it had begun conducting independent “mediation sessions and diversity training for district staff” the previous year.
In 2013, a member of the Columbia Heights School Board resigned at CAIR-MN’s urging, due to a Facebook comment (that he claimed was not his own) rejecting the idea of installing foot-washing stations and bidets in high school bathrooms to accommodate Muslim students.
CAIR-MN continued its efforts in 2016, complaining that various school officials were not responding quickly enough to alleged hate crimes against Muslim students, while calling for increased protection for such students statewide.
Earlier this month, CAIR-MN offered an in-house training session for educators, “Positive Interactions Training for Teachers,” that included a talk on “Understanding Islamophobia and Bullying.” Meanwhile, the Minnesota Department of Education website recommends — alone among religious organizations — CAIR-MN and its publication, “An Educator’s Guide to Understanding Islamic Religious Practices,” under “community resources” to “address bullying.”
Spotting a now familiar pattern, the FCDF sent a data records request to the Minneapolis public school district on August 17, calling for emails that show whether collaboration exists between the district and CAIR-MN. Minnesota would do well to learn from the mistakes of Washington and California, and avoid another ill-advised partnership with CAIR.
Given CAIR’s Islamist heritage, mission, and actions, no public school district should fall for its duplicitous claims of fighting bullying and “Islamophobia.” Its classroom activities endanger America’s future by opening students to indoctrination into a virulently anti-American, anti-Western, and antisemitic ideology.

Republican lawmakers have made it clear they have no intention of repealing Obamacare in the current Congress.
Republicans in the nation’s top lawmaking body have never really wanted to get rid of Obamacare. They would prefer to present the program, which David Horowitz correctly describes as “the greatest assault on individual freedom and individual choice in our lifetimes,” as a villain and whip up sentiment against it and run against it every election. They view Obamacare as good for the business of politics. They may chip away at it from time to time or tinker with it at the margins, but make no mistake: these creatures of Washington want to keep it in place. This is the Republicans’ dirty secret.
Republicans have been promising to rip Obamacare out root and branch ever since it was enacted. They ramped up their rhetoric after the allegedly conservative-dominated Supreme Court declared the blatantly unconstitutional Obamacare law constitutional in the incoherent NFIB v. Sebelius ruling of 2012. Americans responded to this government takeover of a huge chunk of the economy by electing GOP-controlled congresses in 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016, and by electing Donald Trump as president. 
Unintimidated by the Left and sneering hack journalists, Trump began the push to bury the misnamed Affordable Care Act and as a result, the individual mandate will die at the end of this year. But the bulk of the statute and related rules such as the economically suicidal pre-existing medical conditions mandate remain in place, complete with federal insurance-purchasing subsidies for people who don’t need the help, as well as the sclerotic administrative apparatus, and the odious rule that prevents health insurers from competing across state lines.
The top vote-counters in both chambers say repeal is a no-go for the rest of the year. This ought to worry conservatives because there is a good chance that when the new 116th Congress convenes Jan. 3, 2019, one or both of its chambers will be in the hands of the government healthcare-loving Democrats. 
So it’s now or quite possibly never.
“I’m not going to be asking for another vote on that this year,” Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn of Texas reportedly said last week when asked about Obamacare repeal. His counterpart in the House, Steve Scalise of Louisiana, offered excuses for his party’s inaction. “We need to win this election and then get more seats next year.”
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said he won’t revisit Obamacare before this Election Day, and no expects him to change his tune after then and pursue repeal in a lame-duck congressional session.
Whether the return to the battle over the law is a decision “I don’t have to reach anytime soon and don’t have time to facilitate, even if I was so inclined,” McConnell said last week.
Retiring Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) made it clear he couldn’t care less. “I haven’t even thought about it,” he said.
Republican Sens. Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, who previously blocked repeal, continue to support keeping the Obamacare law in place.
“I would still oppose outright repeal,” Collins last week. Aides to Murkowski said she “is not interested in another rushed, partisan process in the absence of a quality, comprehensive replacement” for the law.
It’s the same old same old. And it’s not going to change unless reliable hardcore conservatives take over Congress.

PROMINENT BJU-ASSOCIATED PASTOR DEFENDS USE OF “CONTEMPORARY HYMNS” (Friday Church News Notes, September 14, 2018, www.wayoflife.org, fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – 
Brian Fuller, Senior Pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, Concord, New Hampshire, defended the use of contemporary worship hymns in a blog in 2012. This church has been called “the flagship of BJU-FBF (Bob Jones University-Fundamental Baptist Fellowship) in New England.” Its Christian Leadership Conference on March 31, 2012, featured Jim Berg of BJU and Matt and Christy Taylor of the Wilds. Fuller writes: “If I recall correctly, it was at our 2003 New England Leadership Conference that Dr. David Parker sang How Deep the Father’s Love for Us to a capacity crowd of New England fundamentalists. A chorus of hearty ‘amens’ followed this theologically robust text and appropriate tune by Stuart Townend. That was 2003. This is 2012. You see, 2003 was a somewhat blissful time when the ‘association’ or ‘source’ question of the original style of modern hymns wasn’t being necessarily fingerprinted. That benevolent spirit of heartily affirming the truths of these modern hymns has all but evaporated, unfortunately. Frankly, as a believer, I feel a little ‘robbed’ that the spiritual gift I received in hearing that hymn back in 2003 has now been flagged as a potential stumbling block to other believers. Beyond the ‘offense’ objection, I have discovered that there seems to be a political element to this issue. In attending conferences and fellowships, I have noticed the ‘source and association’ issue of modern hymnody is raised with rapidity and frequency. If not stated explicitly, the attitudinal implications of some of the discussions are that there is little room at the table for a difference of opinion. A pastor’s ‘true-blue’ separatism might be questioned if he discerningly embraces these modern hymns. There is a definitive suspicion that is detected from others about your teetering on the ‘slippery slope’ if you view the source and association elements as mostly irrelevant, illogical or extra-biblical” (“Of Modern Hymnody at Trinity, Feb. 13, 2012). Fuller went on to defend the Getty/Townend “contemporary hymn movement” as being (allegedly) different in character than the Contemporary Christian Music field. In this, he is dead wrong, as documented in the next report.
ARE THE CONTEMPORARY HYMN WRITERS “SAFE”? (Friday Church News Notes, September 14, 2018, www.wayoflife.org, fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – 
As we have documented in The Directory of Christian Worship Musicians, Stuart Townend is an out-and-out Christian rocker, a radical charismatic, and a rabid ecumenist who associates with Rome and promotes the Alpha program and is therefore building the one-world church. By their intimate and non-critical association with Townend, the Gettys have demonstrated that they are one in spirit. The people who are writing the “contemporary hymns” are not separated from the wider field of CCM. They are ALL holding hands. They ALL have the same spirit. NONE of them are friends of a fundamentalist position. ALL of them are avowed enemies of biblical separation. ALL of them have an ecumenical, charismatic mystical agenda. This is not opinion. We have studied these things “from the horse’s mouth” for nearly 50 years and have carefully documented our warnings. God’s Word forbids us to associate with end-time apostasy. We are to touch not the unclean thing. To be careful about associations is the very heart and soul of biblical separatism. The use of CCM is definitely a “slippery slope” toward compromise and error, and those who are playing with it are playing with fire. “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners” (1 Corinthians 15:33). This warning has nothing to do with “politics.” I can’t speak for others, but I know that my motive in warning against the slippery slope of CCM is a passion for the truth that I found in Christ. CCM is the sound-track of end-time apostasy. It is a bridge to the “broader church” with all of its ancient and end-time heresies. The aforementioned thinking is dangerous and ill-informed, but it probably represents the majority position today. THE CORNER HAS BEEN TURNED IN REGARD TO FUNDAMENTAL BAPTISTS AND CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN MUSIC. Twenty years ago, the vast majority of influential IFB preachers condemned it in no uncertain terms. The trumpet was giving a clear sound. Today, the majority of influential IFB preachers are justifying its use and questioning the motives of those who still reprove it. Since so many fundamental Baptist preachers are crowd-followers and man-respecters, it is not surprising that the philosophy of justifying the “adaptation” of contemporary worship music has spread so rapidly. This is further evidence of the collapse of separatism. IS IT CONSISTENT TO BE “PICKY” ABOUT CCM ASSOCIATIONS WHILE USING PROTESTANT HYMNS? (Friday Church News Notes, September 14, 2018, www.wayoflife.org, fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – 
It is popularly argued that if we are to be “picky” about musical associations in regard to the contemporary musicians, then we would have to discard Luther’s or Wesley’s hymns, but that holds no water. The old Protestant hymns were exceedingly different in character from contemporary worship music. The old Protestants weren’t building the end-time one-world church, but the CCM crowd most definitely is. The old Protestants condemned Rome boldly and were separated from her. The world represented by Stuart Townend and his “contemporary hymns” is the world of rock & roll, charismatic mysticism, C.S. Lewis, The Shack, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the emerging church, The Message, Brennan Manning, Christian homosexuality, Leonard Sweet, Rick Warren, contemplative prayer, and unity with Rome. I don’t know of even one instance in which the use of a hymn by Luther has transformed a Baptist church into a Lutheran church, but I know of large numbers of cases in which fundamentalist churches have been converted to a contemporary philosophy through the use of CCM. I don’t know of one instance in which the old Protestant hymns acted as a bridge to the world, the flesh, and the devil, but I can point to many young people who have discovered contemporary worship music to be a bridge to these things. And it always started with the softer, less controversial stuff.
TECHNOLOGY AND MUSICAL ASSOCIATIONS (Friday Church News Notes, September 14, 2018, www.wayoflife.org, fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – 
We live in a different world today because of technology, and the technology allows people to easily communicate with and associate with musicians. Even when Luther was alive or Charles Wesley or Fanny Crosby or whoever, if you sang their music in a church, the members had no way to develop an intimate association with the hymn writers so that they could sit at their feet and be influenced by everything they believed and represented. That is not true today. When a fundamentalist church uses contemporary worship music, the people have ready access to the writers of the music through the Internet. They can read their blogs, browse their Facebook pages, follow their Twitter accounts, listen to their music on YouTube. They can surf the links from these musicians to their friends and associates and be influenced by the whole world of contemporary music. There is no doubt that this is happening in churches everywhere because of the carelessness and ignorance and lack of wisdom on the part of so many leaders. Contemporary worship music is a bridge to many dangerous things. It has transformation power. If the influence doesn’t come overnight, it will come eventually. If it doesn’t come to the older people, it will come to the younger ones. If the contemporary philosophy doesn’t permeate the church in this generation, it will in the next. For those of us who do still believe in biblical separation and therefore agree that lines must be drawn, why can’t we agree that the lines should be drawn at the safest place? Why not “approve things that are excellent” as opposed to borderline and questionable (Phil. 1:10)? Why try to find something good within the dangerous world of contemporary worship music? Is that wise? Is that godly? For the sake of the next generation, we need to keep all contemporary influences out of our churches and homes, and we need to do the work of serious education that will protect the people. Instead of mocking and sidelining and blacklisting those who are warning about these things, we need to listen carefully and treat them as wise friends of truth rather than fools and enemies.
SUGGESTED STATEMENT ON CHURCH MUSIC (Friday Church News Notes, September 14, 2018, www.wayoflife.org, fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – 
Some time back, we received the following request: “My father asked me to write to you and see if you have a statement about music standards that we could draw from in revising our church constitution. Music has become such a big topic in our day that he feels as senior pastor that we should have a clear, somewhat timeless statement about it in our constitution.” I sent the following, which is an update of a statement that we use in our churches in South Asia: 1. The church music must teach sound doctrine (Col. 3:16). The words of the songs must be right according to the teaching of the Bible. Most Contemporary Christian Music is unacceptable because it represents the ecumenical charismatic philosophy or it presents a vague message that lacks doctrinal clarity and strength. 2. The church music must be holy and separate from the world (Eph. 5:19; Rom. 12:2; 1 John 2:15-16). This means that the church’s music will not sound like the popular music played on the radio and the music that the world uses for dancing and drinking and partying. Our church music will not use the backbeat and other forms of dance syncopation, because this has always been associated with sensuality and has been characterized as “the sexy” part of pop music. We believe it is not wise to use drums (except in an orchestra) and electric guitars in church music, because they are so easily used in a pop music fashion. 3. The church music must not borrow from the world of contemporary Christian music, since it is a major element of building the apostate one-world church and represents a foreign spirit (1 Cor. 10:21; Eph. 5:11; 2 Tim. 3:5; Rev. 18:4). This is evident by examining the history of this music as well as the lives and beliefs of the contemporary musicians as we have done in The Directory of Contemporary Worship Musicians. 4. The church music must not be designed to produce a charismatic style mystical experience (1 Peter 5:8). The objective of charismatic music is to produce an experiential worship and toward this end contemporary worshipers use music with a strong dance rhythm, non-resolving chord sequences, repetition, and electronic modulation so that people will be carried away emotionally. The Bible tells us to be sober-minded and not to allow anything to capture our hearts other than God and His Word. We are not supposed to open ourselves up unquestioningly to any experience but are to continually test everything by the standard of God’s absolute Truth (1 Thessalonians 5:21).

The EU is in the process of deliberations on whether to strip Hungary of “key” EU rights because of that country’s policies on immigration. Hungarian leader Viktor Orban delivered  a “fiery speech to European lawmakers in Strasbourg,” stating that he will not give in to EU “blackmail.”
Orban accused the “pro-migrant majority” of having “already made up their minds” to invoke the European Union Treaty’s Article 7 against Hungary, for its treatment of migrants and minorities
Orban has long argued that he does not see the multitude of Muslim migrants who entered Europe as refugees, but as “economic migrants,” since they deliberately “journey to richer western European countries….while passing through less wealthy countries.” He also stated:
We believe that a large number of Muslims inevitably leads to parallel societies, because Christian and Muslim society will never unite.
The daily headlines are filled with news of no-go zones (many likened to war zones), sharia patrols and crimes, assaults and jihad attacks directly related to the Muslim migrant influx. Orban’s warning about parallel Muslim societies has already come true in the UK, where over 85 Sharia courts are in operation. Orban has remained steady on his views about Muslim migration, unlike Angela Merkel, who has flip-flopped to suit her political agenda at various times. Recently news emerged about another surprising U-turn by EU President Jean-Claude Juncker, who has backed a 10,000-strong border force to crack down on illegal immigration.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban delivered a fiery speech to European lawmakers in Strasbourg, before they began deliberations on suspending the country’s key EU rights due to his government’s policies.
Orban accused the “pro-migrant majority” of having “already made up their minds” to invoke the European Union Treaty’s Article 7 against Hungary, for its treatment of migrants and minorities, and the ruling party purported abuse of the law and suppression of media freedoms.
“Hungary will not accede to this blackmailing, Hungary will protect its borders, stop illegal migration and – if needed – we will stand up to you,” said Orban, who was re-elected with an overwhelming majority in April.
“Hungary is going to be condemned because the Hungarian people have decided that this country is not going to be a country of migrants.”
Calling the proceedings an “insult” to his nation, Orban called Hungary the “defender of Europe” and spoke of its “different view on Christianity in Europe, the role of nations and national culture.”
“These differences cannot be a reason to brand any country and be excluded from joint decisions. We would never go as far as to silence those that do not agree with us,” said the Hungarian prime minister, as the majority of the chamber sat in silence, while his mostly Euroskeptic supporters cheered.
Article 7 is applied if an EU member state presents a “systemic threat” to the bloc’s values, which Hungary was adjudged to have done in a report by Green MEP Judith Sargentini earlier this year, and could result in Budapest losing its voting representation in various European bodies, becoming a pariah state in the union.
It requires for two-thirds of MEPs to vote in favor of accepting the report on Wednesday, after European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker delivers his annual State of the Union speech.
This is considered likely, but all the other EU nations would then need to agree unanimously to punish Budapest. Such consensus has never been achieved, meaning that Article 7 has never been implemented, and is not likely this time either.
Hungary has vowed to veto the application of similar sanctions to Poland, under its own investigation, and at least Warsaw will likely return the favor…..

Facebook has slapped a 30-day suspension on #WalkAway founder Brandon Straka for simply mentioning Alex Jones.
Straka took to Twitter Wednesday to explain he’d been temporarily banned from Facebook ahead of the #WalkAway March on Washington next month, where thousands of disillusioned former Democrats are slated to rally together to show their disgust with the Democrat Party before the midterms.
“FACEBOOK JUST BANNED ME AS I AM PLANNING THE #WalkAway March on Washington!!! I have been banned from posting leading up to the March. This is devastated for our ability to reach people!!! I was banned for mentioning my interview with Alex Jones. Can anybody help???” he tweeted Wednesday.

Straka included screenshots of Facebook’s vague explanation of the suspension, which stated, “If you post something that goes against our standards again, your account will be blocked for another 30 days.”
In a statement to Infowars, Straka claimed he was banned for posting, “Hey, Patriots! I’m going live on http://InfoWars.com in 15 minutes.”
Straka’s WalkAway YouTube channel has already amassed nearly 56,000 subscribers since he launched it earlier this summer, which is why the left is determined to shut down the grassroots movement.
Indeed, leftist media like CNN and Huffington Post demonized the WalkAway movement last month, claiming with no proof that it was a “Russian bot” campaign meant to “wound Democrats.”

Facebook’s Unholy Alliance masters are, without doubt, accelerating their totalitarian suffocation of free thought and expression. it is no surprise, therefore, that I was suspended from Facebook for 30 days yesterday, on September 11, after posting my article, 9 Steps to Successfully Counter Jihad. I believed that the article was more relevant and urgent than ever due to the skyrocketing Jihadist stabbings in Europe — and to the 17th anniversary of 9/11 that was approaching the next day.
But it appears that daring to give suggestions on how our civilization can stop Jihadist attacks and another 9/11 is against Facebook’s ‘community standards’. I posted a screenshot of the reprimand that Facebook sent me and then tweeted about it. (See Below).
The article itself outlined nine ways in which Jihad can best be countered. The steps include:
1. Label the Enemy and Make a Threat Assessment, 3. Stop “Partnering” With Muslim Brotherhood Front Groups, and 5. Launch Our Own Counter-propaganda Campaign.”
My advice also involves the promotion of supporting moderate Muslims — a move that is, clearly, horrifying to Facebook’s masters and therefore also violates their “community standards.”
No doubt, my consistent campaigning on behalf of Muslim women and girls in my efforts to protect them from FGM, Honor Killings and other Sharia barbarities, has gained me the anger and hatred of Facebook’s guardians — who are clearly on the side of the Sharia enforcers and oppressors of Muslim women and girls.
I am no stranger to censorship on social media — especially of the insane variety. In April earlier this year, I was suspended from Facebook for posting screenshots of a Muslim’s threat to me on the platform.
Then, in May, my Twitter account was temporarily suspended and I was forced to delete tweets I posted which directly quoted Islamic religious texts. My account was suspended for violating Twitter’s rules relating to “hateful conduct.”
It is “hateful conduct”, apparently, to reference what Islamic texts themselves say. Indeed, I had simply referred to Sahih Bukhari’s texts discussing Mohammed’s marriage to Aisha when she was six years old (7.62.88) and to Qur’anic Suras that mandate the Hijab for women (24:31; 33:59) and sanction sexual slavery (4:3; 33:50).
I have also attempted to write to Facebook to ask what it is specifically that violates Facebook’s “community standards” when a person gives advice on how to best defend American lives from Jihad. But when I try to send my inquiry, a Facebook announcement appears telling me that my “request” cannot be processed. It appears, therefore, that when you are languishing in the Facebook Gulag, not only are you imprisoned without understanding why, but there is also no way and no one to ask about your fate.

A study on alternative medicine in the January 2008 report in U.S. News & World Report focused on the rapid growth of Reiki (pronounced ray-key). The report says the number of Reiki practitioners worldwide is in the millions, with half a million in the United States and over a million in Germany.
According to the American Hospital Association, 15% of hospitals were using Reiki in 2007.

A report in The Washington Post for May 16, 2014, was entitled “Reiki Goes Mainstream.” 
In 2016, Newsweek magazine reported that “Reiki classes are cropping up all across the country, with courses offered everywhere from Tallahassee, Florida, to Seattle, Washington” (“The Healing Power of Reiki,” Newsweek, Feb. 28, 2016).
The practice has been praised by Oprah and Dr. Oz.
Lighthouse Trails observes:
“If US News & World Report is correct in their assessment that Reiki, Yoga, and other types of healing practices are now mainstream, then Reiki is here to stay. One can only wonder if Reiki is going to become as popular in Christian circles as Yoga now has. If it does, then as with contemplative spirituality, the spiritual lives of countless people will be jeopardized and the Gospel of Jesus Christ seriously compromised.”
Reiki is an occultic practice that allegedly channels “universal healing energy” for human benefit such as relaxation and physical healing. 

The word “reiki” is Japanese for “spiritually guided life force energy.” Rei means “a higher power’s wisdom” and Ki is “life force energy.” As we saw in the chapter “When Is Alternative Medicine Wrong,” it is also spelled chi and qi. 

It was developed in Japan in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui. During a 21 day program of fasting, meditation, chanting, and other pagan contemplative practices he allegedly experienced “the great Reiki energy entering” into him and found that he could use the energy to heal others. It came in the form of a light that moved toward him and entered the middle of his forehead (Mohan Makkar, The New Reiki Magic, p. 5). Usui allegedly began to heal with his touch and to initiate others into the “energy.” Reiki was established in Hawaii in the 1930s and from there spread to North America. The American International Reiki Association was formed in 1982.

The International Center for Reiki Training says: 
“Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. … Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect.”
That sounds harmless enough, doesn’t it?

But it is purely occultic and therefore spiritually dangerous and forbidden to the child of God.
William Rand, founder of Holy Fire Reiki, says, “As long as the person wants to receive the attunement and wants the ability, it comes right in. The energy respects free will—if the person doesn’t want it, it’s not going to force itself on them. … When I learned Reiki, I realized there was no limit to the quality of the energy and that it could be further refined and upgraded” (“The Healing Power of Reiki,” Newsweek, Feb. 28, 2016).
This is a loud warning that those who delve into Reiki are dealing with demons. According to the Bible, there is no such thing as an intelligent “life force energy” that is not either human, angel (good or fallen), or God.
Reiki is transferred or initiated by the laying on of hands. The Reiki manual is subtitled “The Healing Touch.” The Reiki practitioner places his hands on the same spot of the body for three minutes at a time, and the energy is supposed to be mystically drawn out by the recipient. Horan says, “… if I lay my hands on you to do a treatment, your body will naturally draw the appropriate amounts of energy it needs, and to the proper places” (Abundance Through Reiki, p. 20).

Reiki has three levels or degrees of initiation, the third level being the master level. The degrees are called “attunements” whereby the student is brought into harmony with the Reiki energy and taught how to channel it. The initiations are thought to create channels for the flow of Reiki. 

Reiki is largely Hindu in its philosophy. It is described as “an energy incomprehensible to the intellect which flows through everything, transforming all realms of life … Reiki is oneness” (Paula Horan, Abundance Through Reiki, p. 10).

Reiki is founded on the Hindu concept that God is everything and man is part of God. One Reiki Master says that “Reiki will eventually guide you to the experience that you yourself are Reiki or Universal Life Force Energy. … you and I are that same Universal Life Force Energy” (Abundance Through Reiki, pp. 9, 23). 

Reiki is thought to open the chakras of the “astral body,” which is a Hindu doctrine. The astral body is supposed to be an energy body that is associated with the physical body, and the chakras are energy channels that can be manipulated. 

Paula Horan said that her Reiki teacher gave her a new name, Laxmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth and good fortune. He said to her, “I am giving you the name Laxmi, because in this lifetime, you will fulfill all of your desires” (Abundance Through Reiki, p. 152).

The recipients of Reiki describe it as a powerful sense of warmth and security, “a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you.” 

It is not only supposed to provide healing but also to initiate the recipient into higher levels of spiritual transformation. The International Reiki Center says that “many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it.” This is the mystical approach that bypasses thinking with an experiential connection with a “higher power.”

Reiki involves not only “life energy” but also spirit guides. The International Reiki Center web site says: 
“Occasionally witnessing miracles. Feeling the wonder of God s love pass through you and into another. SENSING THE PRESENCE OF SPIRITUAL BEINGS, feeling their touch, knowing they work with you. Being raised into ever greater levels of joy and peace by simply placing your hands on another. Watching your life grow and develop as your continual immersion in Reiki transforms your attitudes, values and beliefs. Sensing that because of your commitment to help others, BEINGS OF LIGHT ARE FOCUSING THEIR LOVE AND HEALING ON YOU AND CAREFULLY GUIDING YOU ON YOUR SPIRITUAL PATH. This is the promise of a developing Reiki practice. … THERE ARE HIGHER SOURCES OF HELP YOU CAN CALL ON. ANGELS, BEINGS OF LIGHT AND REIKI SPIRIT GUIDES as well as your own enlightened self are available to help you. … There must be congruence, an alignment within you in order for the Higher Power in the form of Reiki to flow through you in a powerful way and in order for THE ANGELS, REIKI SPIRIT GUIDES AND OTHER SPIRITUAL BEINGS TO WORK WITH YOU.” 
The Reiki practitioner is taught to get in tune with these spirit guides, to pray to them, and to yield to their control. 
“Try the following prayer: ‘Guide me and heal me so that I can be of greater service to others.’ By sincerely saying a prayer such as this each day, your heart will open and a path will be created to receive the help of higher spiritual beings. They will guide you in your Reiki practice and in the development of your life purpose.”
Reiki is even said to open up “psychic communication centers”:
“During the Reiki attunement process, the avenue that is opened within the body to allow Reiki to flow through also opens up the psychic communication centers. This is why MANY REIKI PRACTITIONERS REPORT HAVING VERBALIZED CHANNELED COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE SPIRIT WORLD” (Phylameana Desy, The Everything Reiki Book, 2004, p. 144).
The Reiki Journal suggests that message therapy is an excellent tool for spreading Reiki.

Following is a concluding warning about Reiki:
“My mom is into the New Age movement and has had Reiki done on her for years; recently she started practicing Reiki. She does it on friends and family members (I am the only Christian in the family). I live with back pain, and she has wanted to do it on me. I have always said no, but after researching Reiki I finally decided to tell her that my beliefs conflict with Reiki and that the ‘energy’ is actually demonic (that was a difficult conversation). … she regularly meditates and talks to ‘her angel,’ whom she credits with anything good happening. She is getting deeper into this. My mother says she prays to ‘Jesus’ before doing Reiki.  … She does not believe in the Bible or most of it anyway, nor Jesus’ deity, but rather [that] He came to point the way to God.  … Obviously this is a false Jesus. … one of her angels is ‘like a best friend’ and has a name” (“My Mother Is Doing Reiki,” Lighthouse Trails, Feb. 9, 2016).

Hand it to Maxine Waters. When she sinks her teeth into something, she doesn’t let go.
Speaking to the Stonewall Young Democrats in Los Angeles on Saturday, the leftist congresswoman from California repeated her call for leftists to keep harassing President Trump’s officials and supporters in public.
Not all Democrats are happy about Waters’ rhetoric, not least her baffling insistence that she and her colleagues can impeach not only President Trump but also Vice President Mike Pence.
Make Them Feel Unwelcome
Waters’ insisted to the leftist crowd that calling for the public harassment of Trump officials and supporters wasn’t just right. It was imperative.
She opened that reiteration of earlier remarks with a shot at Sen. Dianne Feinstein because the senator apologized to Judge Brett Kavanaugh, Trump’s nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court, for the crazy protesters who disrupted his confirmation hearing.
“We’ve got get this thing straight,” the supercilious politician said. “We don’t ask permission to protest…. And so I probably will have a conversation with Dianne and we’ll talk about it.”
Waters vowed to remind Feinstein that Waters had declared the harassment of Trump officials and supporters had to continue until they can’t go out in public.
“Remember,” she’ll tell Feinstein, “there are those who said that we lacked civility when I got up and talked about the president’s cabinet, and I said if you see ’em anywhere, if you see ’em at a restaurant, if you see ’em in a department store, even at a gasoline station, just tell ’em, ‘You’re not welcome here or anywhere.’”
And so It frightened a lot of people. And of course, the lying president said that I had threatened all of his constituents. I did not threaten his constituents, his supporters. I do that all the time, but I didn’t do it that time.
The crowd laughed, and after admitting that she threatens Trump’s people “all the time,” Waters claimed that she did not advocate violence. “But what bothered me so much was they tried to frame that as violence. That’s not violence,” Waters averred.
As a matter of fact, I said the poster child for violence is the president of the United States. He’s the one who threatens. Don’t forget at his rallies what he said. “Go ahead and beat ’em up, I’ll take ’em out on a stretcher. He even said, you know, if they jail you I will bail you out on and on and on. I do not advocate violence. I do not believe you should hit, kick, shoot. I don’t think you should do that. I don’t do that. And won’t allow anybody to define out protesting that way. And we have to tell people the difference between violence and incivility and protest.
What Waters Said
Problem is, Waters’ first incitement to harass Trump’s officials and supporters didn’t include that caveat. They were much stronger. Waters clearly delighted, for instance, in seeing a leftist restaurant owner refuse to serve Trump spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and a mob of socialists harass Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.
“God is on our side,” Waters claimed at a rally in late June.
And so let’s stay the course. Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. You push back on them. Tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere!
And “Americans should be out in the streets screaming to the top of their voice,” Waters said about a month later. “Do something. Make something happen.”
Anti-Trump Intimidation
Some Americans listened and did make “something happen.” The same day, as The New American reported, a raving nut crashed a book signing in New York for the Sanders’ predecessor, Sean Spicer, calling the author a “real piece of garbage” before security ejected the unhinged loon.
More recently, as Breitbart’s list of anti-Trump harassment and violence shows, an Hispanic woman claimed a man spit in her face for wearing a Trump, a black woman claimed a white man kicked her out of a restaurant for wearing a Trump hat, and a tattooed man dared his daughter to knock off a man’s MAGA hat for $100.
“F*** Trump,” he said. The daughter did what she was told.
“Got ‘em,” the proud Dad said.

CHENGDU, China — Members of a house church in China recently took the gospel to the streets after the government shut down their unregistered church, video footage reveals.
A video shared on Sunday by Christopher Gregory of the organization China Missions shows Christians gathering in the public park to sing, preach and pray. Sometimes they walk the sidewalks, playing musical instruments and happily singing praises to God, such as “Nothing But the Blood of Jesus,” and sometimes they gather around to hear the preaching of the word.
Some clips show a church leader holding his Bible in one hand and a microphone in the other, as another man holds a speaker above his head for amplification. Other clips show members praying aloud in the park, sometimes stationary, and sometimes as they walk along in the open air.

Gregory told Christian News Network that the church held both the morning and evening service outside on Sunday, and the pastor was arrested afterward, but is now free.
“The local authorities shut down a house church in Chengdu last week, so they thought that was the end of it—it wasn’t,” Gregory shared on social media. “The people took the gospel to the streets and have started church services in the parks while the authorities looked on in bewilderment not knowing what to do.”
“For the first time, people throughout China are saying ‘NO!’ to what the Communist party wants—control,” he outlined. “Control over what they can do, what they can believe, where they can go, what they can say. It’s yet another sign something is beginning to take shape here in China, the call for democracy! The call for freedom!”
The video, which has been viewed over 43,000 times, has served as a convicting and humbling reminder to those in the West.
“It’s truly amazing how courageous the Chinese Church is willing to defy the government and preach the gospel, knowing they could be killed for it, while the American Church is too afraid to stand up to its persecutors, and instead conforms to the world,” one viewer wrote.
“Persecution has only brought Church growth to [the] Chinese Church. Glory to God,” another marveled.
“Praise God. You cannot limit God! Close him down, He goes BIGGER outside the 4 walls!” a third exclaimed.
According to the organization China Aid, churches in China who wish to gather for worship must register with the Three-Self Patriotic Movement, the only officially authorized Protestant Church in China, and even then, they are only allowed to hold gatherings in buildings that are operated by the government.
“Because most of these churches are instructed to teach loyalty to the Communist Party and the Chinese State and often teach propaganda over the actual tenets of these faiths, many faithful religious adherents choose to meet outside of the official religious system, in groups known as house churches or underground churches,” China Aid explains.
However, it is illegal to operate a church outside of registering with the Three-Self Movement, and those that do so are often subject to detainment, arrest or imprisonment. Enforcement varies from province to province.
Many churches have also been raided by government officials and/or the crosses have been torn down from their buildings. Some have been placed under government surveillance or shut out of their buildings altogether.
“The government is trying to silence anything relating to Christianity due to the rise of those who claim Christianity as their faith. China is facing inward resistance and they see this growth of believers as a sign of losing their grip on its society,” Gregory explained.
“Pray for China,” he exhorted. “Pray for every church in China, both State-sanctioned as well as unregistered (house church). But pray for change here, pray that the gospel reaches into men’s hearts so that real change can come, then we’ll see a revival in China.”

Google poses a dire threat to democracy and online freedom, according to President Trump’s 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale.
In a USA Today op-ed, Parscale laid out point-by-point how Google and other tech giants operate as the “gatekeepers” of online information and as political instruments of the left.
“As the internet has become an increasingly central part of modern life, Big Tech giants such as Facebook, Twitter and Google have increasingly sought to become the gatekeepers of the internet and political discourse,” Parscale wrote Monday.
“Without any sort of democratic mandate, these companies have appointed themselves the arbiters of acceptable thought, discussion and searches online.”

“These companies’ pervasive command of the internet — and blatant desire to control how we interact with it — is a direct threat to a free society. And arguably the worst offender is Google,” he added.
He then described just how extensive and all-encompassing Google’s control is over the internet, accounting for over 90% of all online searches.

“Google’s broad and pervasive role in the lives of almost every American today cannot be overstated. More than 90 percent of all online searches are conducted through Google or YouTube. The media giant’s video-sharing site has 1 billion active users a month, many of whom go there to learn and share conservative ideas only to find their quest for knowledge subverted by faceless ideologues,” he explained.
Parscale went on to list how Google blacklists, manipulates, and outright removes content it alone deems undesirable, which is usually right-leaning.
“Google’s eager adoption of the role of censor should come as little surprise. Eric Schmidt, the executive chairman of Google’s parent company, Alphabet Inc., has a demonstrated track record of combining the role of Democrat activist with his job,” he wrote.
Additionally, Google colluded with the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign, and cozied up with the Obama White House in regular weekly meetings, demonstrating the platform’s political bias.
“Google is clearly manipulating and controlling the political narrative in favor of Democrats and the left, and silencing conservatives and Republicans,” Parscale wrote.
“A company with such power and influence cannot simply be allowed to play the biased gatekeeper of political discourse.”
Members of Congress demanded Big Tech leaders testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee about their companies’ roles in political censorship, fighting “fake news,” and addressing foreign influencers.
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg appeared for the hearing last week, but Google CEO Sundar Pichai and co-founder Larry Page both snubbed the high-profile event.

Potential executive action to address the widespread Big Tech de-platforming and censorship of prominent conservative voices is being stymied by administration insiders who are oblivious to the threat and have convinced President Trump to put the issue on the back burner.
Infowars has learned from a source close to the administration that executive action on the matter was planned as soon as this week, but that it has likely been delayed yet again.
Several people within Trump’s inner circle know the threat to the mid-terms and his re-election chances that social media censorship poses, including Donald Trump Jr. and Brad Parscale, his 2020 campaign manager.
However, older members of the administration are completely unaware of the fact that banning prominent online voices and manipulating algorithms can shift millions of votes and are oblivious to the danger.
This ignorance has placed a temporary block on Trump taking action, despite the president repeatedly referring to Big Tech censorship in tweets and speeches over the last few weeks.
A petition calling on the White House and Congress to take action to protect free speech in the digital public square has also received almost 125,000 signatures.
If tech monopolies are not stopped in their effort to purge conservatives from social media, the next step is that the left will lobby to have their political adversaries blocked from being able to engage in commerce and use payment processing systems, which already happened in the case of Islam critic Robert Spencer when Mastercard lobbied to have Spencer removed from Patreon and GoFundMe.

Amazon has officially entered dystopian territory by banning an entire range of dating advice books because they violate unspecified “content guidelines.”
Controversial author Roosh Valizadeh revealed the ban last night, tweeting, “Amazon has removed 9 of my books from sale, including my newest book Game, which was ranking in the top 1000. They won’t tell me the specific reason. Many of the books were on sale for 5+ years.”

According to Amazon’s guidelines, illegal content and porn are banned (none of which appear in Valizadeh’s books), so the only guideline he could be in violation of is “offensive content”.
“What we deem offensive is probably about what you would expect,” states the guideline, a completely vague description which could literally be anything that one person deems offensive.
“I believe the bannings began because the launch of Game was extremely successful. I sold 2,000 books in the first two days and hit the top 700 on Amazon paperback on the first day. Even before Friday’s launch, Game was already in Amazon’s top 10,000. As far as I know, Amazon didn’t receive a single complaint about the content, but they removed it anyway,” wrote Valizadeh, adding that Amazon sells all kinds of books which contain details of violent rape and sexual abuse.
“None of my books contain child rape scenes, physical abuse, pornography, or sexual violence, and yet they were banned. Were they banned because they were effective at helping men? Was it because executives at Amazon disagree with my political opinions? Was it an action from a rogue employee? They won’t tell me,” said Valizadeh.
The author also noted that a 2015 petition lobbying Amazon to ban his books received over 250,000 signatures at the time, suggesting that a similar effort may have been successful this time around given the intense climate of censorship against conservatives that has accelerated over the last month.

The move has brought comparisons to Nazi book burning or dystopian classics like Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, where the state had a unit of firemen dedicated to burning books.
Back in 2009, Amazon made headlines after it erased digital copies of 1984 from Kindle devices, although that was over a copyright issue. This is much worse.
“Did anyone reasonably foresee that Amazon of all places would ban books? It’s going to get so bad that you can’t imagine how bad it’s going to get,” tweeted Mike Cernovich.

Apparently though according to many conservatives, so long as it’s giant corporations and not governments banning everything and removing everyone’s ability to have a platform or engage in commerce, everything’s just fine.

Valizadeh also posted a YouTube video talking about the ban, which can be viewed below.
The purge is now being accelerated to the next level – sabotage of commerce. This will begin with the brigading of payment processors, making it impossible for conservatives and free thinkers to sell products, and will end with people being banned from having credit cards and bank accounts altogether, as is already happening.
Now the Washington Post is lobbying to have Infowars’ ability to engage in basic business shut down. This is not the end, it’s just the beginning.

HIS “DEATH OF A NATION” MOVIE & BOOK EXPOSE DEMOCRATS’ “BIG LIE”

New York Times best-selling author Dinesh D’Souza explains the truth that Democrats hide and lie about: It it is their party that has been anti-black.
In an explosive new film that Rotten Tomatoes’ critics gave a “zero percent” rating, but audiences gave a “90 percent” score, conservative commentator Dinesh D’Souza exposes the Democratic Party’s “big lie” that President Donald Trump, Republicans, and conservatives are racists and fascists.
In the film Death of a Nation: Can We Save America a Second Time? the New York Times best-selling author argues that Democrats and progressives are the intellectual heirs of the slavery of African-Americans and genocide of Native Americans, and that their policies helped inspire the Nazis and the Holocaust.
The film, which is igniting a national debate about the largely unknown and long-hidden history of the Democratic Party, compares the political environment Trump faces today with the one that America’s first Republican president, Abraham Lincoln, experienced during the Civil War.
“I think the response [to the film] has been fantastic,” D’Souza says:
The audiences love the movie, and it’s very revealing, if you go on Rotten Tomatoes — which is sort of the official movie review site — the professional critics, who are almost entirely on the left, like the movie zero percent.
The audience ranked it at (90 percent on August 11). I’ve never seen such a wide discrepancy between the critics’ assessment and the audience’s assessment. Normally, there is about a 10-20 percent gap because the critics are a subset of the larger audience, and not a representative one. What the zero percent really tells me is these are people who despise the movie, and the reason they despise the movie is because the movie is a 90 percent refutation of everything they believe. Now, they are not smart enough to refute it, so the best that they can do is let out a primal yell, and their primal yell, is a zero percent rating.
In an exclusive interview with The New American, D’Souza discussed the film, what his research and interviews with prominent experts revealed, and the impact the movie is having on America.    
The New American: In your controversial new film that’s igniting a political firestorm — Death of a Nation: Can We Save America a Second Time? — you note that not since 1860 have the Democrats so adamantly refused to accept the results of a presidential election. In those days, their target was Abraham Lincoln. In the film, you make the case that there is an eerie similarity between the situations faced by Trump now and President Lincoln then. Why did you make this comparison and what do you see as the similarities?
Dinesh D’Souza: Well, here are the main similarities. In 1860, an outsider was a favorite and was elected. That outside candidate happened to be a Republican, in fact, the first Republican president.
Lincoln won in a very narrow race that he wasn’t expected to win. The only reason he won is that the Democrats fielded two candidates and split the Democratic vote. The moment Lincoln was elected all hell broke loose. There were calls by the northern Democrats and some southern Democrats for Lincoln to be assassinated, which actually happened later.
The southern Democrats were so unwilling to abide by the results of the election that they were willing to break up the country.  
Now, look at how similar that is to what we’ve been facing in this country for two years. When Trump was first elected I thought that much of the craziness was reflected in the immediate disappointment that inevitably follows a very close election, but that the disappointment, and even rage, would soon subside as people accepted, however reluctantly, the results of the democratic process.
But, no, we have seen for two years now uninterrupted efforts to either establish the illegitimacy of Trump’s presidency — he’s a racist, he’s a fascist — and use this as a pretext for ejecting him from office. So in an 1860 moment in America, the similarities in politics are not deniable. There is nothing going on now that resembles the Reagan era. You have to go all the way back to Lincoln to make sense of our current situation.
TNA: This comparison between President Lincoln and President Trump is generating an outcry on the left. President Lincoln is often named in polls as among America’s best presidents, and yet about half the country seems to loathe  President Trump. What many people may be unaware of is that Lincoln was the first Republican elected president. What kind of reaction are you getting to this?
D’Souza: Well, remember that Lincoln, like Trump, was extremely controversial in his own time. The secular sainthood that is conferred on Lincoln only came after his assassination. He wasn’t perceived that way in his time. Number one, he was considered an extremist, and number two, he was considered a tyrant. Notice the close similarities between what people said about Lincoln then and what people say about Trump now.
TNA: One of the most surprising things revealed in the film is that the Democratic Party was behind slavery, was historically linked to the Ku Klux Klan, and has a long history of racism, yet Democrats and progressives today have accused Republicans of racism. What is going on here?
D’Souza: Most of the horrific crimes that we associate with racism from slave plantations through segregation/Jim Crow, racial terrorism, the Ku Klux Klan — all of this was done by Democrats, largely with the encouragement of the Democratic Party.
Now the Democratic Party has never acknowledged its role in any of this. Democrats and progressives today try to foist the blame onto the American Founders, and onto the South, and onto their own country itself, but never onto the one place where it truly belongs, namely themselves.
And so what we are seeing today is a big lie, an intellectual and political scam, which is blaming the very Republicans who fought against the Democrats all the way. Republicans are, in fact, the party of emancipation, opposing and shutting down the Ku Klux Klan, opposing segregation, and providing more support for the civil rights movement of the 1960s than Democrats did.
TNA: It seems from watching the movie that the cause of the Civil War was limited to slavery. Was there no more involved in the Civil War than the North and South lining up to settle the issue of slavery?
D’Souza: The Civil War was mainly, though not exclusively, about the issue of whether slavery should be permitted to spread into the new federal territories. Other issues like tariffs also played a role, but they were subordinate to the slavery issue. Secession, when it came, was over slavery, as Alexander Stephens, a Democrat and vice president of the Confederacy, admitted in his Cornerstone Speech.
TNA: While the film explores the Democratic Party’s historical support of slavery, the Left has made the argument in recent decades that Republicans and Democrats essentially switched positions over the years, especially during the battle for civil rights in the 1960s. You addressed this in the film. What is your response to this claim?
D’Souza: There is no basis for it. The truth of it is that when you list the Dixiecrats — a group that numbered between 100 and 200 — we are talking about senators, congressmen, and in some case governors, these are either people who joined the racist Dixiecrat party or voted against the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. You can ask how many of these Democrats voted for the Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Act, and the answer is there are two.
In the Senate, one guy: Strom Thurmond. In the House, one guy: Albert Watson.  All the other racist Dixiecrats remained in the Democratic Party. They died as Democrats. They were lionized at their deaths. There are buildings named after them in Washington, D.C.
In the case of one of them, Robert Byrd, Hillary [Clinton] called him her mentor and [President Barack] Obama eulogized him at his funeral. So the actual Dixiecrats all stayed in the Democratic Party, and the notion that they came over to the Republican camp is simply a fiction, but a fiction that is widely taught, and therefore, widely believed.
TNA: Beyond these revelations about the Democrats, the film also explores the impact that the party’s policies — including those that resulted in the decimation of Native Americans in the 1800s — had on Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party’s rampage, which led to the Holocaust and the deaths of millions of Jews and others during World War II. Some of the film’s critics have called this argument into question, saying it goes too far. What would you say in response to them?
D’Souza: Well, I just read an article in the Washington Post, an attack on the movie. The headline said, “Dinesh D’Souza claims Hitler was a liberal.” Now, this calls for a qualification of what I said.
No reasonable person who saw my movie would conclude that I think Hitler was a liberal. Here is what I do say, that Hitler and the Nazis got some of their most hideous and even murderous schemes from American progressives and from the American Democratic Party. Now, this is an indisputable fact.
Not only do I dramatize it in the movie, I extensively discuss it in my book with citations, chapter and verse. A case in point, there is a scene in the movie where the Nazis were drafting the Nuremberg laws, the laws that made Jews into second-class citizens. They were sitting around a table and they had in their hands the Democratic laws of the Jim Crow South.
Now someone watching the movie might say, ‘Dinesh, where are you getting this?’ And the answer is I’m getting it from Yale [Law School] legal scholar James Whitman and his book Hitler’s American Model.
Now, interestingly Whitman puts the blame on America, not the Democrats, even though all the segregation laws of the Democratic South were passed by Democratic legislatures and signed by Democratic governors.
This isn’t something America did. This is something the Democrats did. Well, the Nazis knew about it, and so they have these laws in their hands and essentially what they are doing is making the laws, the Democratic laws, the model for the Nuremberg laws. They are crossing out the word “black” and writing the word “Jew.”
The Germans are getting this from their Democratic counterparts. This is unquestionable in the historical record. No one can challenge it. If the Washington Post accused me of that [falsely claiming that Germans based anti-Jewish laws on Democrat laws] they would have no reputation. They would have to admit I was right, so they don’t do that. They pretend like I’m saying Hitler is a liberal, so prima facie they make it seem like I’m a kook, but that’s not what I’m saying and in fact, my arguments are very well documented. They have no answer, and that’s why they have to lie about it.
TNA: A key theme running through the film is what Hitler described as the “big lie.” What is the “big lie,” and how have Democrats and progressives employed this political strategy to their advantage in the battle for hearts and minds, and votes, in America?
D’Souza: Well, when Hitler talked about the “big lie,” he was not saying that he, Hitler, was telling big lies. He was blaming the “big lie” on Jews, but nevertheless, he had something insightful to say about lies in general.
Hitler says that if you have a small lie it’s easy to check out. For example, if someone were to say something to you like, “Your wife is cheating on you.” Well, you would say, “How do you know? Who told you that? Did you take any photographs? Show me.” In other words, you’re able to verify whether this lie is true, whether you are being lied to. You can check it out.
But Hitler’s point is if someone makes a big lie it’s difficult to get your head around it and, therefore, difficult to refute it. Let’s take something like: Fascism is right-wing. It’s a right-wing phenomenon. If you tell that to the ordinary guy, or even the educated guy, he wouldn’t know how to go about making sense of that or refuting it.
In fact, how do people get to know such things? I’ll run into educated people and they go, “Everybody knows that fascism is right-wing.” And I’m like, how do you know? And they will say something like this: “Well, you know, I was at Barnes & Noble and I saw a book about it. I turned on NPR, and I heard something about it. I was watching this thing on the History Channel, and there it was: Fascism is right-wing. So, I’ve been hearing it from here and hearing it from there, so it’s got to be true.”
Now, the important thing to realize is that all these sources have been shaped by progressive historiography. In other words, a professor somewhere wrote a book about how fascism is right-wing, and his colleagues, who are also on the left, said, “Great book.” And then The New York Review of Books reviewed it and said it’s an “Excellent book.” And then NPR came and interviewed the guy and featured him on their program All Things Considered. And then the History Channel interviewed him for their account of World War II.
So, here is my point, the person who thinks he is getting seven independent sources of knowledge is not actually getting seven independent sources of knowledge. It’s the same bullet ricocheting from one wall to another, and since it’s coming at you from all these different directions, you think, “Oh, wow, it’s being confirmed from one source to the other and therefore it must be true.”
So coming back to Hitler, what Hitler is basically saying is it’s easier to sell a big lie than it is a small lie, and I think that the progressives recognizing this had sort of taken a page from that handbook and realized that: “You know what, even though there was close collaboration between the left and fascists prior to World War II, not a whole lot of people know that, and if we don’t put it in the textbooks, if we don’t talk about it in our classrooms, and we don’t make any movies about it, and we don’t write any Broadway plays about it, no one is going to find out. In fact, no one is even going to think that this occurred because we have essentially not left any footprints for people to know this,” and so that’s how I think these big lies become consolidated. It’s easy to sell big lies when you are dominant in academia, the media, and the entertainment industry — all three.
TNA: The midterm elections are coming up, and then in 2020, Trump will run for reelection. In your films, you’ve explored the danger America faces if progressives and Democrats retake the White House and Congress. In this latest film, you’re essentially warning that Democrats and progressives helped inspire the Nazis and all kinds of terrible things in history. What are your concerns about these upcoming elections and the dangers that Democrats pose to America?
D’Souza: I think the greatest danger has been averted, and that is, had Hillary won the presidential election, a lot of this disruption, a lot of this mobilization of the Left and the state against opponents, all of this would have been swept under the rug. We wouldn’t even know about it.
So with Trump’s election alone, a change is underway. Now Trump, of course, has been startlingly effective in achieving his agenda. Some people thought at the beginning that he was just a blowhard who might write pungent tweets, but not know how to get things done. Trump is getting a lot of things done.
Now, the Democrats want to stop him and, certainly, if they take either branch of Congress, they will be able to slow him down. If they don’t get the Senate, which I don’t think they will, they won’t be able to stop him from tilting the balance of the Supreme Court and certainly he remains completely in charge of foreign policy, so they will not be able to stop him on that either.
So the Democrats are a long way from taking the country, possibly for a decade or more. And they would have to be considered the underdogs in being able to defeat Trump the second time around so that I’m not, when I use the title Death of a Nation, by no means am I suggesting that America is finished; it’s time to give up. Nonsense.
It’s the opposite. Look, by us being aware and knowing what is going on and deconstructing these false narratives and big lies, we become really powerful and dangerous Americans — dangerous in the good sense of being dangerous to tyrannical forces that want to sort of control and run our lives. And so, I’m trying to motivate people, educate them, inspire them, fire them up, and get them to be more active and more involved in restoring America rather than seeing America go down.
TNA: Ultimately, the film asks whether President Trump and this nation’s citizens can come together and save America for a second time. Considering the reaction that you’ve gotten so far to the film, what do you think?
D’Souza: I think the jury is out on that one. I think that Trump continues to be a massively divisive figure, as Lincoln was. The country was only unified in 1865 when one side was defeated.
There was not a meeting in the middle, but a complete annihilation of one side by the other, leading to unification of the country on Northern Republican principles, rather than Southern Democratic principles.
I think that Trump’s approach is not to ask (for compromise), but to strike back when he’s attacked. I think this is actually the correct approach. There are Republicans who are squeamish about it. They want to live in the Reagan era of gentlemanly politics. I want to live in that era also.
But that is not the America we have now. If we let groups like Antifa keep acting out, they are going to do what they keep doing. And if we allow the Democrats to use the weapons of the state — the IRS, the DOJ, the FBI — against their political opponents with impunity, they will keep doing it.
That’s why I support a more aggressive approach to stopping them because the only way to prevent them from doing it to us is to show a willingness to do it to them, to show a willingness to fight back and uphold the rule of law, and to hold people accountable.
I think the way we get to a more unified, stable, law-abiding, and civil environment in this country is, paradoxically, for Republicans not to hide under their desks or run for the exit, but rather to resist the Democrats by patiently but firmly recognizing that ultimately only a taste of their own medicine will bring them to their senses.

President Trump held a press spray in the Oval Office in order to insist that the administration is prepared to deal with Hurricane Florence if it ends up making landfall this week.
“The safety of American people is my absolute highest priority. We are sparing no expense. We are totally prepared, ready. We’re as ready as anybody has ever been,” Trump said. “They haven’t seen anything like what’s coming at us in 25, 30 years. Maybe ever.”
“It is tremendously big, tremendously wet,” Trump continued. “Tremendous amounts of water. So I have spoken with the governors of South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia. They’re prepared, we are prepared.”
President Trump said Tuesday that one of his administration’s “best jobs” was the response to the hurricanes in PR.
Trump was asked what lessons the government could take from 2017 as the federal government prepares for Hurricane Florence to barrel into the mid-Atlantic coast later this week.

“I think probably the hardest one we had by far was PR because of the island nature, and I actually think it was one of the best jobs that’s ever been done with respect to what this is all about,” Trump told reporters during an Oval Office briefing on the path of Florence.

Comparison of Two Presidents: President Trump versus President Obama – Their First 600 Days
On Friday former President Barack Obama gave a speech in Illinois where he was critical of the current President while never referring to President Trump as “President”.  Obama then took credit for President Trump’s economy.

Sean Hannity on FOX News shared parts of Obama’s speech and compared it to events from the Obama era –

As we approach President Trump’s first 600 days in office, we decided to compare his economic results to those of Obama for the exact same time period.  We start with the stock market results.

After President Obama was elected President the already low stock market crashed.  When Trump was elected the stock market skyrocketed.  The markets are a gauge of the economy and include expectations of the future.

The day President Obama was elected President, November 4th, 2008, the DOW stood at 9,625.  Immediately however, the DOW began to tank and by March 9, 2009, the DOW could go down no further as it landed at 6,547 for a decrease of more than 30%.

After President Trump was elected the DOW exploded.  On November 8th, 2016, the DOW stood at 18,332.  Since that date the DOW has soared and it never looked back.

Not only has the DOW skyrocketed since Donald Trump was elected President, the market’s rise is record breaking.  Since the 2016 election, the DOW has closed at new record all-time highs 99 times!  (President Obama never saw a new all-time high in the DOW his entire first term and only saw 105 all-time closing highs from his first election win until Trump’s.)

President Trump’s first year in office (2017) saw the most all-time stock market closing highs (71) as well as the largest increase in DOW history (4,956 points).  Prior to 2017, no year in the DOW’s more than 100-year history ever saw the DOW increase by more than 3,500 points, let alone 4,900.  The most all-time highs in a year prior to 2017 was 69 in 1995.

Since President Trump was elected President the DOW tied the record for the most all-time closing highs in a row.  In January of 1987 President Reagan saw the DOW increase to new all-time highs a record 12 days in a row.  In February of 2017, President Trump matched Reagan’s record.

The DOW reached its fastest 500 point increase between major milestones under President Trump.  In January of this year the DOW surpassed 26,000 and six days later the DOW surpassed 26,500.  Under President Trump the DOW has seen the fastest 1,000; 2,000; 3,000; 4,000; 5,000; 6,000 and 7,000 point increases in DOW history.   No similar records occurred during the Obama years.

Also, President Trump didn’t ride an Obama wave, the DOW under Obama went down in 2015 and stayed relatively flat until the 2016 election.

Russell 2000

The Russell 2000 is a major index of US small cap stocks recognized throughout the financial industry. The 2000 companies in the Russell 2000 are the bottom 2000 companies in the Russell 3000. These companies have seen incredible results as well since President Trump was elected President.  The Russell 2000 reached 31 new highs in 2017 and this year already has reached 30 new all-time highs. 

The Russell 2000 never reached a new high in Obama’s first 600 days and only reached 3 new all-time highs in his entire first term!  The other major indices are all the same, recording massive gains since President Trump was elected into office with dismal results in Obama’s first 600 days in office.

GDP and Debt

According Rex Sinquefield at Forbes in October of 2016 –

The Obama recovery of the last seven years remains the worst in postwar American history. Average gross domestic product (GDP) growth since the bottom of the recession in 2009 was barely above 2.1% per year. The average since 1949 is well above 4% per year during the previous 10 expansions.

This result is not just bad, it is catastrophic.  The average American should not be wondering if his or her income is a bit above or below 2007 levels. Just by historical averages, the average American should be 20% better off than in 2007. And this slow growth is settling in as a permanent new-abnormal.

I believe the root cause of abysmal growth is the huge tax increases imposed by Obama and the Democrats in Congress since 2008. The most harmful were the increase in the capital gains tax from 15 to 20 percent, the increase in top bracket income from 35 to 39.6 percent, and the new tax of 3.8 percent on investment income in the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The massive increase in regulatory burden through the ACA and Dodd-Frank bills are also crushing, but unfortunately are harder to measure.

President Trump however last quarter reached a GDP of 4.2%.

USA – –(Ammoland.com)- “Armed, plain-clothes LAPD officers were dispatched to California cities outside of Los Angeles at least a dozen times to provide security for U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris at public events, media appearances, and a party,” NBC Los Angeles reports. “The LAPD routinely provides security for dignitaries and officials visiting LA, but a senior retired department official said the courtesy extended to Sen. Harris for her travels to other cities was unprecedented.”
What’s not unprecedented are gun-grabbing politicians who would deny you the right to protect yourself and your family while using tax plunder to make sure their safety is taken care of. Their security detachments can even go armed in so-called “gun-free zones.” At least they have that in common with private criminals.
And Harris is such a hypocrite. And a lying one at that.
“This cannot be a political issue,” she tweeted disingenuously after Parkland, not bothering to explain why she insists on making it one. “We have to have smart gun safety laws – our babies are being slaughtered.”
And what gun safety laws does she consider “smart”?
First of all, forget allowing teachers to make the choice to arm and protect themselves. Harris tried to shoot that plan down by pointing out “trained law enforcement officials, they only hit of their intended target approximately 20 percent of the time,” making it fair to ask if that means her armed security detail poses an 80% danger to the public.
Harris supports “further restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms.” She’s trying to “export California gun control to the nation.” She used “dirty tactics” in the Peruta case to fight the right of all Americans (except for enforcers) to bear arms. And naturally she doesn’t want you to be able to possess “common defense” firearms consistent with the intent of the Second Amendment.
But the guys you pay for who are protecting her, the “Only Ones,” can have it all. And more.
But no fair, some will argue. She’s an important politician. That makes her more of a target than “ordinary” people.
Let’s forget the congressmen killed in duels. It’s been half a century since Robert F. Kennedy, the last U.S. Senator was assassinated, and the one before him, Huey Long, was shot to death in 1935, presumably by his own bodyguards.
As far as the most dangerous jobs in America, “politician” doesn’t make it anywhere near the top 25, all of whom, aside from law enforcement officers, Harris demands be disarmed.
Here’s the thing – reasonable people can agree that some politicians, especially high-profile ones, can require extraordinary protection for situations regular constituents are not likely to encounter—the crazy, violent Bernie supporter who shot up Republican congressmen at the baseball practice, or the nutjob “progressive” #MarchForOurLives supporter arrested for trying to stab a congressman the other day come to mind.
By the same token, Kamala Harris is unlikely to be subjected to the myriad dangers ordinary citizens face. It’s doubtful she’ll ever have some reptile stick a gun in her face at a convenience store, or live in a dangerous neighborhood overrun by gangs, or be the victim of a home invasion, or be raped and slaughtered just because some animal feels like doing it to her. Yet she would prevent every one of those potential victims from protecting themselves.
She would prevent you if you let her.

Why does this keep happening?
Sexual assault occurs in all cultures, but only in Islam does it have divine sanction.
One survivor of a Muslim rape gang in the UK said that her rapists would quote Quran to her, and believed their actions justified by Islam.
The Qur’an teaches that Infidel women can be lawfully taken for sexual use (cf. its allowance for a man to take “captives of the right hand,” 4:3, 4:24, 23:1-6, 33:50, 70:30). The Qur’an says: “O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.” (33:59) The implication there is that if women do not cover themselves adequately with their outer garments, they may be abused, and that such abuse would be justified.
“Girl ‘had slept with 100 men by 16 and had baby at 15 after being passed around by abusers,’” by Ben McVay, Mirror, September 8, 2018:
A young girl was “passed around” and had sex with 100 men by the time she was 16, a child abuse trial was told.
The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, claims the abuse she suffered between 1998 and 2001 began when she was just 13 years old, jurors heard.
Her video interview was played at the trial of eight men accused of sexual abuse of five girls over a five-year period from 1998 to 2003.
They were arrested and charged as part of Operation Stovewood – a police investigation into sexual abuse launched after the Rotherham grooming scandal.
Sheffield Crown Court, South Yorkshire, heard how her number would be passed around between the men – with others then “demanding” to meet her.
She said: “I can honestly say that by the age of 16 I had slept with 100 Asian men – some I didn’t see again.
“The ones who come and use you for one time are the ones who are hard to remember.
“As soon as you get to know them your number gets passed around.
“Asian lads demanding to meet you – then you meet a new group and it went on like that.
“I didn’t know at the time I was being passed around when I was 13 but I know now I’m older.”
Tanweer Ali, 37, and Mohammed Imran Ali Akhtar, 37, are both accused of indecently assaulting the girl between 1998 and 2001 when she was under the age of 16.
Ali and Akhtar would have been aged between 17 and 20 during the alleged period of offending….
Akhtar, of Rotherham, faces four counts of indecent assault, one of supplying a controlled drug, one of rape, one of procuring a girl under 21 for unlawful sexual intercourse with another, one of aiding and abetting a rape and one of sexual assault.
Tanweer Ali, 37, of Rotherham, faces two counts of indecent assault, two counts of rape and one of false imprisonment.
Salah El-Hakam, 39, of Sheffield, faces one count of rape.
Nabeel Kurshid, 34, of Rotherham, faces two counts of rape and one of indecent assault.
Iqlak Yousaf, 34 of Rotherham, faces two counts of rape and two counts of indecent assault.
Ajmal Rafiq, 38, of Rotherham, faces one count of false imprisonment and one count of indecent assault.
Asif Ali, 33, of Rotherham, faces three counts of indecent assault.
An eighth defendant, who cannot be named, faces three counts of rape and one of abducting a child.
The trial continues.

“The Trump administration announced Monday that it is closing the Palestine Liberation Organization’s mission in Washington, citing Palestinian leaders’ resistance to peace talks and attempts to get an international court to prosecute Israel for alleged war crimes.”
At last, a move away from fantasy-based policymaking and an adjustment of policy based on actual reality. Long overdue, and certain to elicit howls of rage from the entrenched fantasists.

The Trump administration announced Monday that it is closing the Palestine Liberation Organization’s mission in Washington, citing Palestinian leaders’ resistance to peace talks and attempts to get an international court to prosecute Israel for alleged war crimes.
The announcement marks the latest blow by the United States against the Palestinians amid a stalled Mideast peace process.
“The United States will use any means necessary to protect our citizens and those of our allies from unjust prosecution by this illegitimate court,” National Security Adviser John Bolton plans to say during a Monday afternoon speech to the Federalist Society. “The United States will always stand with our friend and ally, Israel.”
Bolton is addressing the PLO decision in that speech, saying “The Trump administration will not keep the office open when the Palestinians refuse to take steps to start direct and meaningful negotiations with Israel.”
He plans to say: “The United States supports a direct and robust peace process, and we will not allow the ICC, or any other organization, to constrain Israel’s right to self-defense.”
The White House has reportedly mulled shutting down of the PLO mission in Washington since last November, unless the Palestinian leadership enters serious peace talks with Israel.
Bolton’s announcement on closing the mission adheres to a provision in U.S. law saying the PLO mission must close if the Palestinians try to get the ICC to prosecute Israelis for crimes against Palestinians.
“While the Court welcomes the membership of the so-called State of Palestine, it has threatened Israel—a liberal, democratic nation—with investigation into its actions to defend citizens from terrorist attacks in the West Bank and Gaza,” Bolton plans to say. “There has also been a suggestion that the ICC will investigate Israeli construction of housing projects on the West Bank.”
The U.S. does not currently recognize the Palestinian territories as an independent state, though the United Nations General Assembly overwhelmingly voted in 2012 to recognize Palestine as a “non-member observer state.”
Heather Nauert, a spokeswoman for the U.S. State Department, said on Monday that the announcement does not change the U.S. stance that direct negotiations are the way to forge a peace deal, but warned the PLO against any rash actions.
“The United States continues to believe that direct negotiations between the two parties are the only way forward,” Nauert said in a statement. “This action should not be exploited by those who seek to act as spoilers to distract from the imperative of reaching a peace agreement. We are not retreating from our efforts to achieve a lasting and comprehensive peace.”
Closing the PLO mission in Washington almost certainly will stiffen the Palestinians’ opposition to any peace plan now being worked on by Trump’s Middle East point men, Jared Kushner and Jason Greenblatt.
The Palestinian leadership has been openly hostile to any proposal from the administration, citing what it says is a pro-Israel bias.
Senior Palestinian diplomat Saeb Erekat said the U.S. decision was designed “to protect Israeli crimes” and added that the move would not stop Palestinian legal action against Israel.
“We reiterate that the rights of the Palestinian people are not for sale, that we will not succumb to US threats and bullying,” Erekat said in a statement. “Accordingly, we continue to call upon the International Criminal Court to open its immediate investigation into Israeli crimes.”
One issue the U.S. has had with the Palestinian Authority had been its stipends paid to the families of Palestinians killed, injured or jailed for attacks on Israel. Israel and the Trump administration have repeatedly demanded that those payments from a so-called “martyrs’ fund” be halted because they encourage terrorism. PA President Mahmoud Abbas has refused to do so….

Germany has been hit with another impromptu protest after a man in the eastern town of Köthen was killed following a physical altercation with two Afghan migrants.
Around 2,500 demonstrators hit the streets of Köthen on Sunday, carrying German flags and chanting “we are the people”.
Authorities described around 500 of the protesters as “far-right,” but there were no arrests during the march.
Holger Stahlknecht, the interior minister of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, said that many of the demonstrators were “level-headed citizens,” but said that police were investigating slogans and chants to check if they “amounted to incitement”.
The protesters expressed their anger at the death of a 22-year-old German man who died of a heart attack after a brawl with two Afghan migrants.
According to State Justice Minister Anne-Marie Keding, “There were at least two Afghans and two German men involved in the brawl that is believed to have led to his death, but that they neither had any details on the other German man nor did they have all the details of what had occurred during the row.”
Before the demonstration on Sunday, the two Afghans were arrested on charges of aggravated assault and causing bodily harm resulting in death.
While Angela Merkel’s approval rating continues to drop, mostly as a result of opposition to her open border policies, anti-mass migration protests in Germany are on the rise.
The town of Chemnitz was the epicenter of several clashes between anti-migrant protesters and leftists over the last two week following the stabbing of 35-year-old Daniel Hillig by a Syrian and an Iraqi migrant.
The Mayor of Chemnitz reacted to the protests by declaring a state of emergency and drafting in 1,200 police officers to secure the city.
As we reported last week, a club in Frankfurt was also attacked by a gang of 10 Syrian “refugees” who attempted to stab terrified guests while shouting “Allahu Akbar”.
Germany has allowed in over 1 million migrants, predominantly from the Middle East, since 2015.
Violent crime has risen since that time, and 90% of it is due to migrants, according to the German government’s own statistics.

A summer 2018 Relevant Magazine article titled “Why Learning to Breathe May Be the Best Way to Pray,”  tells readers that,

Breath prayer [are] an ancient Christian prayer practice with origins in the lives of the Desert Fathers and Mothers, is a vehicle we can use to live out Scripture’s call to “pray without ceasing. (1 Thessalonians 5:17) . . .  Breath prayer offers stressed-out Christians a simple way to respond to stress by turning our attention to the presence of God and reaching out to Him for grace.

Relevant Magazine* is listed on the Lighthouse Trails “50 Top Contemplative-Promoting Organizations” and has a long history of promoting contemplative prayer. Relevant claims that,

[s]ince 2002, RELEVANT has been the leading platform reaching Christian twenty- and thirtysomethings.” In other words, their target is the millennials. . . . We reach about 2,300,000 twenty- and thirtysomething Christians a month.

If numbers like that are accurate, that means there’s a large chance your grown children or grandchildren are reading material from Relevant, and now, through this article, have been introduced to breath prayers, mindfulness, and contemplative prayer. The article continues:

Breath prayer provides Christians a simple, sustainable way to gain the benefits of mindfulness while deepening our relationship with God. The practice of breath prayer considerably overlaps with the practice of mindfulness . . .  The impact of this kind of prayer can be profound. Studies have found that contemplative prayer, of which breath prayer is one form, can help Christians manage stress, evaluate stressors differently and increase spiritual awareness. Furthermore, practicing contemplative prayer can decrease symptoms of worry, depression, anxiety and stress. Additionally, it can be an effective tool for coping with conflict, enhancing users’ mindfulness skills and offering them a greater connection and awareness of their subconscious.

As for breath prayers, this article certainly isn’t the first time major players in today’s “New” Christianity have recommended them. One of the most, if not THE most, popular and influential pastors was pushing breath prayers years ago. On pages 89 and 229 of The Purpose Driven Life, Rick Warren states, “With practice, you can develop the habit of praying silent ‘breath prayers’” In an article on Warren’s pastors.com website, it exhorts: “Breath prayers are a great way to keep in contact with our Heavenly Father throughout our day. Just repeat short heart-felt prayers, such as “You are my God,” “I love you Lord,” and “Thank You, Jesus.” And also, in 2004, on the Purpose Driven website, it stated: “I started slowly to turn my worries into ‘breath prayers.’”
Author and researcher, Ray Yungen, writes about breath prayers in A Time of Departing:

When [Richard] Foster speaks of the silence, he does not mean external silence. In his book, Prayer: Finding the Heart’s True Home, Foster recommends the practice of breath prayer—picking a single word or short phrase and repeating it in conjunction with the breath. This is classic contemplative mysticism.
In the original 1978 edition of Celebration of Discipline, he makes his objective clear when he states, “Christian meditation is an attempt to empty the mind in order to fill it.” In Prayer: Finding the Heart’s True Home, he ties in a quote by one mystic who advised, “You must bind the mind with one thought.” The advice recounts Anthony de Mello’s remarks in his contemplative prayer classic, Sadhana: A Way to God. His approach was virtually identical to Foster’s:
“To silence the mind is an extremely difficult task. How hard it is to keep the mind from thinking, thinking, thinking, forever thinking, forever producing thoughts in a never ending stream. Our Hindu masters in India have a saying: one thorn is removed by another. By this they mean that you will be wise to use one thought to rid yourself of all the other thoughts that crowd into your mind. One thought, one image, one phrase or sentence or word that your mind can be made to fasten on.”
“I once related Foster’s breath prayer method to a former New Age devotee who is now a Christian. She affirmed this connection when she remarked with astonishment, ‘That’s what I did when I was into ashtanga yoga!” (ATOD, p.75)

In an article by the late Pastor Larry DeBruyn titled “Are “breath prayers” a method by which we can become best friends with God?,” DeBruyn states:

To direct people on a spiritual journey for 40 days, Rick Warren wrote The Purpose Driven Life. The bestselling book has impacted millions of persons. Some of Pastor Warren’s purpose involves recommendations for “Becoming Best Friends with God.” To become God’s friends, the author shares six secrets, one of which is practicing God’s presence by being in “constant conversation” with him. After quoting 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (“pray without ceasing”), Warren asks how a Christian can practice unceasing prayer to which he answers, “One way is to use ‘breath prayers’ throughout the day, as many Christians have done for centuries. You choose a brief sentence or a simple phrase that can be repeated in one breath.” Then after providing ten examples of short biblical phrases that could work as breath prayers, Warren advises “Pray it as often as possible so it is rooted deep in your heart.”[1] In this context Warren also cites the book of Brother Lawrence (c.1605-1691), The Practice of the Presence of God, who advocated experiencing God’s presence in the most menial of circumstances by praying short conversational prayers throughout the day. The Roman Catholic practice of praying the rosary is akin to breath prayers. . . .
As the record shows, Jesus never practiced or taught breath praying. . . .  Though in Scripture Jesus has commanded us to do many things that pertain to holiness and godliness, he never commanded us to pray breath prayers. In fact, his teaching on prayer implies just the opposite, that we should not pray repeated and recitative prayers like the heathen. The Lord called Abraham “My friend” (Isaiah 41:8; James 2:23), but there is no record that first, he prayed constantly, or second, used breath prayers. Yet because Abraham obeyed [and trusted] God he was a friend of God. In the same way we become God’s friends through obedience. Trust and obey, for there’s no other way.

The Relevant Magazine article promises the reader, if he or she will practice breath prayer and other contemplative prayer practices, an “inner stillness” (i.e., putting the mind in neutral – stopping all thought), relief from stress, “interior watchfulness,” “inner peace,” “purity of thought,” “a feeling of delight through one’s being,” “lightness and courage,” and “joy of life”—basically the same things that are promised if one practices Eastern-style mantra meditation. In fact, an article like this would fit very nicely in any New Age type publication because the focus is on meditation practices not on the biblical Jesus Christ who never once recommended to His followers that they practice breath prayers or other meditation techniques to get close to God.
The breath-prayer article on Relevant Magazine is just another mile marker on the church’s fast-moving highway to deception. Knowing that over two million millennials may read this article  on breath prayers, mindfulness, and contemplative prayer is an overwhelming thought. Let’s make sure we do what we can to warn any in this age group of the dangers of these practices and encourage them to put their trust in Jesus Christ and His Word. If Ray Yungen is right, that contemplative prayer is the vehicle which will bring about a time of departing from the faith, then our young people are in serious trouble, and their parents and grandparents have a responsibility to speak up.

“A Grapevine megachurch known for outrageous stunts is outdoing itself with a new venture that involves wrestlers.
Fellowship Church, whose prior exploits have included such questionable bookings as caged lions and Oliver North, is launching a new series called “Wrastlin’.” What a fun name for what is undoubtedly a deeply spiritual enterprise.
Fellowship Church pastor Ed Young says he grew up watching wrestling — which, not unlike some megachurches, is an entirely fake thing.
“Why wrestling? Because wrestling is all about entertainment!” Young says in a release that brims over with enthusiastic exclamation points. “I grew up loving it, and enjoying the entertainment of it. The church is in the entertainment business! People think that’s bad, but it’s good. We should entertain like no one else!”
Jesus himself was an entertainer, says Young. Forget that whole savior schtick.
“The word ‘entertainment’ simply means ‘to capture and hold someone’s attention for an extended period of time,'” he says. “That’s what Jesus did, and that’s what we’re doing. Wrestling is one of the most used metaphors in the Christian life.””

Texas megachurch pastor Ed Young is going to have a professional wrestling themed sermon series in which he will interview notable wrestlers like The Undertaker, Ric Flair, Sting, and “The Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase.
The senior pastor of Fellowship Church, a multi-site congregation based in Grapevine, Texas, recently announced that the four-week series will begin on Sunday, Sept. 9.
In a Thursday interview with The Christian Post, Young explained that he had considered centering a sermon series on wrestling for years given how often it appears in the Bible.
“One of the most used metaphors in scripture regarding the Christian life is that of a wrestler,” said Young, citing as examples Ephesians 6:12 and Jacob wrestling with an angel, as described in Genesis 32:22-32.
“It’s a staple in our culture so I thought wouldn’t it be cool to interview some of the most popular wrestlers in the world, to have them at Fellowship, and then to speak out of the scripture regarding wrestling?” Young said.
Each of the four pro-wrestlers will be interviewed, with three of the interviews being live and a fourth being prerecorded. Young declined to comment which wrestler would have the taped interview.
Fellowship Church’s main worship stage will also have a wrestling ring constructed on it, with one section opened up for the congregation to better see him and his interviewee.
Young explained that this was his way of using “word pictures” and enforcing the metaphor of wrestling with God, which he said would be the key theme of his sermon series.
“The whole series is wrestling with God and it’s a match that everyone needs to lose,” said Young, noting that he did not consider the series to be “Christianity 101.”
“It’s really probably Christianity 401. But we’re using 101 techniques, a big overarching picture everyone can connect with.”
The Big Four
The four pro-wrestlers Young will interview for his sermon series are notable names in the professional wrestling industry, both in World Wrestling Entertainment and other companies.
Flair, Sting, and DiBiase are all in the WWE Hall of Fame and many speculate that the Undertaker will eventually be inducted in the near future.
Young told CP that his church was able to get such famous pro-wrestlers for the series because they “just worked our rears off to do it.”
“We called and called and called,” said Young, “we’re friends with one of the wrestlers who knows all these guys and he was able to put us in contact with these wrestlers.”
What also helped, explained Young, was that another professional wrestler he declined to name was friends with a pastor friend of his, which helped Fellowship connect to the notable wrestlers.
Trading the Gospel for Entertainment?
Some have criticized Young for the focus on pro-wrestling. When the senior pastor announced the sermon series on Twitter, some were quick to denounce the idea.
“Trading the Gospel for entertainment. This is a true picture of the seeker sensitive garbage that’s infiltrating our communities. Foolishness to the max,” tweeted one critic.
For his part, Young told CP that he seeks to “teach the way Jesus taught,” pointing out that with his parables Jesus “used word pictures,” as “most of what He said were stories, things that the culture could connect with.”
“We’re a Bible-teaching church, but we try to teach, to communicate the way Jesus communicated, which would be using word pictures and illustrations that our culture can identify with and then obviously explaining from scripture the deeper meanings behind these metaphors,” replied Young.

Every Man Has His Price: Fellowship Church and Wrasslin’

Over at his blog, Tim Challies has an interesting piece about the folly of the attractional church model mega-pastor Ed Young consistently uses to fill Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas.  This month, Young’s attractional strategy is manifesting in the form of WWE Superstars Rick Flair, Sting, the Undertaker, and Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase.  His “Wrastlin” series is previewed in the video below:
Three of these men are WWE hall-of-famers and all have proven for decades that they can draw a crowd (or “draw money” to use a wrestling term).  Two of them have been outspoken about their Christian faith.  This is a fact not mentioned by Challies, whom I doubt knows much about pro wrestling and its celebrities.  I, however, came of age during the Monday Night Wars, so I thought I’d make mention of some important details that Challies left out.
First, pro wrestling is a great metaphor for the Christian religion.  In pro wrestling, the action feels spontaneous but in reality, the outcome is predetermined by the owner of the promotion; the winners and losers are picked out long before the wrestlers ever face off in the squared circle.  If that doesn’t scream Divine election, reprobation, and predestination then I don’t know what does.  I doubt Ed Young and his headliners will make mention of such a theological concern, however. Young’s event is clearly a money grab.  Why else would anyone bring in main event talent like the iconic Sting and Flair?
Second, Ted Dibiase should be held in contempt by the Christian community along with Ed Young.  Unlike the other wrestlers Young is bringing in, Dibiase is actually an active evangelist who regularly preaches through the organization he founded, Heart of David Ministry.  Sting (real name Steve Borden) is also a professed Christian, and it should be noted that he did not perform in WWE until the McMahons (its owners) cleaned up their Attitude Era act.  Not much is known about the personal life of the Undertaker (real name Mark Calaway), he rarely breaks character and did not even do so for Young’s preview video.  Ric Flair would bust Hell wide open if he died.  Flair has basically lived the life of his “Nature Boy” wrestling character, a profligate free-spending playboy.  Flair is famously hard-up for cash and would likely appear anywhere for a payday.  That a purported Christian minister like Dibiase would headline a church with a man who is so clearly lost is inexcusable.  The words of Dibiase’s “Million Dollar Man” alter ego ring true: “Every Man has his price.”  It could very well be the case that Dibiase and the many other wrestlers who have found paydays as preachers after their wrestling careers ended are kayfabe Christians who are no more genuine than their in-ring personas.  They are still in the business of making an appearance for a payday.
Finally, I want to say a word about what Challies seems to be missing: an appeal to Ed Young’s Texas Redneck target audience.  Challies refers his readers to the work of John MacArthur and Jared Wilson and the wisdom of James Montgomery Boice.  While these references may be helpful to the regular readers of Challies’ blog, I imagine people who come to church to see the Undertaker don’t have much concern for reformed thinkers.  Challies addresses the situation at Fellowship Church in an almost academic fashion, giving a critique of the “attractional model.”  This gives far too much charity to Ed Young.  Maybe he’s just a promoter looking for a payday and church has nothing to do with it.  If the Freebirds and Von Erich’s were still alive, I wouldn’t put it past Ed Young to have them wrestle in the church building.  He’s literally turned his church into a circus in the past so doing so wouldn’t be a stretch.
Listen wrestling fans, the lady who edits this blog was friends with Curt Henning and Rick Rude.  I was there when Goldberg beat Hogan for the belt.  I like Sting (I have a nWo Wolfpac shirt somewhere at my parents’ house) and I like the circus, too, but why in the world are you okay with Shotgun Saturday Night bleeding over into Sunday morning?  If you go to Ed Young’s church, Vince McMahon might as well be your pastor.  You are being a sold a show.  You are not being discipled and grown in Christ. They are the strongest of all people in enmity toward the Muslims (5:82); they fabricate things and falsely ascribe them to Allah (2:79; 3:75, 3:181); they claim that Allah’s power is limited (5:64); they love to listen to lies (5:41); they disobey Allah and never observe his commands (5:13). They are disputing and quarreling (2:247); hiding the truth and misleading people (3:78); staging rebellion against the prophets and rejecting their guidance (2:55); being hypocritical (2:14, 2:44); giving preference to their own interests over the teachings of Muhammad (2:87); wishing evil for people and trying to mislead them (2:109); feeling pain when others are happy or fortunate (3:120); being arrogant about their being Allah’s beloved people (5:18); devouring people’s wealth by subterfuge (4:161); slandering the true religion and being cursed by Allah (4:46); killing the prophets (2:61); being merciless and heartless (2:74); never keeping their promises or fulfilling their words (2:100); being unrestrained in committing sins (5:79); being cowardly (59:13-14); being miserly (4:53); being transformed into apes and pigs for breaking the Sabbath (2:63-65; 5:59-60; 7:166); and more. They are under Allah’s curse (9:30), and Muslims should wage war against them and subjugate them under Islamic hegemony (9:29).



Sarsour was speaking at the annual conference of the Islamic Society of North America. “The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) was established in July 1981 by U.S-based members of the Muslim Brotherhood with a background as leaders of the Muslim Students Association (MSA). As author and terrorism expert Steven Emerson puts it, ISNA “grew out of the Muslim Students Association, which also was founded by Brotherhood members.” Indeed, Muslim Brothers would dominate ISNA’s leadership throughout the Society’s early years. Striving “to advance the cause of Islam and serve Muslims in North America so as to enable them to adopt Islam as a complete way of life,” ISNA was highly dependent upon Saudi funding during its early years.” — from Discover the Networks






In its latest filing before the federal district court in Dallas on behalf of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and its affiliate organization, the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT) in the Hamas-terrorism financing case, the ACLU has made a noteworthy admission.



Rather than deny that there is copious evidence tying ISNA and NAIT to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, the brief argues that such evidence is merely dated. In a curious footnote on page 7, the reply states:





Assuming the authenticity of documents’ dates, the most recent documents to mention either ISNA or NAIT are dated 1991, Gov. Exhs. 3-3 and 3-85, but the majority of the documents are older. Almost all of the numerous exhibits that purport to show financial transactions and that contain any mention of ISNA or NAIT are dated 1988 and 1989 (there are two dated 1990), almost a decade before the majority of the overt acts the government alleges in support of its conspiracy charges against the HLF defendants.





So ISNA and NAIT are not saying that the documents tying their organizations to Hamas are “inauthentic,” but that the problem with the evidence is just that it is old. Then, even more curiously, the reply goes on to argue something that the government has not even alleged:





Even if the “evidence” provided some basis for alleging criminality against petitioners, the government’s discussion of it shows the government utterly fails to grasp the singular weight and consequence that an official accusation of criminal conduct carries in our criminal justice system and in our society.





But, of course, the government has not charged ISNA or NAIT with criminal conduct, or the two groups would be indicted in their own right, rather than un-indicted co-conspirators who worked with the Holy Land for Relief and Development (HLF), the defendant and alleged Hamas-front. The reply brief then, as Shakespeare might write, “doth protest too much.”

Left-wing activist Linda Sarsour said that American Muslims should not humanize Israelis during an Islamic conference, the Algemeiner reported.



Addressing the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) convention in Houston, Texas, Sarsour accused American Muslims who were not sufficiently active in supporting the Palestinian Arab cause of being “complicit in the occupation, of Palestinians, in the murder of Palestinian protesters.”



Sarsour warned against normalization or friendly relations with Israelis. “If you’re on the side of the oppressor, or you’re defending the oppressor, or you’re actually trying to humanize the oppressor, then that’s a problem sisters and brothers, and we got to be able to say: that is not the position of the Muslim American community.”



Sarsour, who was propelled into the national spotlight as a leader of the Women’s March following the election of US President Donald Trump, has been criticized for expressing support for anti-Semites and terrorists who murdered Israelis….
