Even people on the left who intensely dislike

February 8th, 2017… there’s a huge article urging our President, Donald
Trump, not to have a commission on vaccine safety. Wait a minute! They
don’t want to find out if there’s a problem with our vaccines? That’s
insane, folks! Absolutely insane. I’m a board certified pediatrician. I
am not anti-vaccine. I’m not pro-vaccine. This idea of pushing people
into anti or pro is ridiculous. We all want healthy kids. If we’re going
to use vaccines, we want safe vaccines. There is absolutely no reason
we shouldn’t look into this.

New Federal 2017 Vaccine Schedules Approved

 The U.S. Centers for Disease Control 
and Prevention (CDC) and its Advisory Committee on Immunization 
Practices (ACIP) have approved new adult and childhood vaccine 
schedules, effective Feb. 1, 2017.
  The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), the American Academy
 of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American College of Obstetricians and 
Gynecologists (ACOG) have all endorsed the new schedules.1

The CDC’s release of the vaccine
schedules has coincided with news reports that the Trump administration
may appoint a special commission to investigate the safety of vaccines. In response to these reports, AAFP’s president, John Meigs, expressed his opposition to the proposal:

A new federal commission
on immunizations is not necessary and would divert much-needed dollars
from other, more pressing health care issues. To suggest the need for
such an organization promotes unnecessary, ongoing and disproven
skepticism about vaccines and public safety.”2

He added:

The science
is clear, and family physicians stand ready to help everyone―from the
incoming administration to the general public―understand how safe and
important vaccines are.2

Updates to the Childhood Vaccine Schedule

The updated childhood vaccine schedule recommends that children between
ages 11-12 years old receive two doses of Human Papillomavirus (HPV9)
vaccine instead of the previously licensed three-dose schedule.2
The HPV9 vaccine can be given as early as nine years old and as late as
13-14 years old. For patients 15 years old and over, it is recommended
that they receive three doses of HPV9.2
The second update pertains to the
timing at which two doses of the meningococcal vaccine MenB-FHbp should
be administered rather than the three doses originally recommended.2
The third update relates to the HepB
vaccine. The ACIP recommends the hepatitis B shot should be administered
to newborn infants “within 24 hours of birth” instead of the previous “at hospital discharge.”3

Updates to the Adult Vaccine Schedule

The ACIP recommends that adult
patients with a history of egg allergy that manifests with symptoms
other than hives may receive age-appropriate inactivated (IIV) or
recombinant influenza vaccine (RIV) but should be supervised by a
medical professional, who is able to quickly recognize and manage severe
allergic reactions.2
The ACIP additionally recommends HepB
vaccine for adults suffering from chronic liver disease, cirrhosis,
alcoholic liver disease, fatty liver disease and autoimmune hepatitis.2

CDC Publishes Final Rule on Quarantine Powers

The federal government’s legal authority to detain and quarantine
persons infected with certain highly communicable and deadly infectious
diseases historically primarily has involved detaining people entering
the U.S. by boats and airplanes or traveling across state lines.
Federal government officials have long had the authority to
apprehend, isolate and quarantine people for a limited number of
infectious diseases on the U.S. quarantine list.
However, the legal authority for surveillance, detention and
quarantining of citizens residing in the U.S. suspected of being
infected with certain non-quarantinable communicable diseases
historically has resided with state government health officials.1
On Jan. 17, 2017, the last day of the Obama administration, a new
final rule on the Control of Communicable Diseases was issued by the
U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that is schedule
to take effect in March.

The new rule gives the CDC expanded authority to apprehend, isolate
and quarantine for at least 72 hours a person entering the U.S. or
traveling between states, who is suspected of being infected, or at risk
of being infected, with one of the nine diseases on the U.S. quarantine
list (cholera, plague, diphtheria, smallpox, yellow fever, infectious
tuberculosis, viral hemorrhagic fevers [like Ebola], severe acute
respiratory syndrome [SARS] and influenza) that can cause a pandemic.2

The rule also strengthens federal surveillance of travelers for
symptoms of non-quarantinable diseases like measles, pertussis and
meningococcal disease.3
While proponents are touting the changes as necessary to protect the
public health, critics have been arguing since the CDC first published
the Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) in August 2016, that it is an
example of government overreach, which poses a risk to health and civil
liberties.4
Because the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) and other
organizations advocating for protection of civil liberties urged
Americans to contact the CDC and oppose the NPRM last summer, the CDC
received more than 15,000 comments from the public, many of them
expressing concern that the rule violated the U.S. Constitution, and
human and civil rights.
Although the CDC rejected this characterization, the agency did make
changes to the final rule, including eliminating a provision that would
have allowed the CDC to require individuals to agree to submit to public
health measures such as hospitalization, vaccination and medical
treatment.
In addition, the final rule states that medical examinations can only be conducted with prior informed consent.5

Who Could Be Quarantined Under the New Rule?

The new rule gives the CDC the power to detain for further health
assessment a person who is crossing the U.S. or state borders if he or
she is exhibiting certain infection symptoms associated with
quarantinable diseases, such as fever, headache and acute
gastroenteritis (abdominal cramps, loose stools or vomiting).
The new rule also makes it clear that rash and cough symptoms of
non-quarantinable infectious diseases, such as measles and pertussis,
among travelers are going to be more closely monitored by federal
government officials as well.
For non-quarantinable diseases, CDC will be working with state health
departments, who have the legal authority to detain and quarantine
citizens suspected of being infected with, or at risk for, being
infected with a communicable disease.
James Hodge Jr., a professor of public health law and ethics at the
Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, told
NPR, “Because of the breadth and scope of the definition of ill persons,
CDC can target a much wider swath of persons to assess and screen.”6

Airline Pilots and Ship Operators to Become Surveillance Crews?

The new rule also includes new reporting requirements for airplanes
and ships. If the rules take effect, airline pilots and ship operators
would be required to report not only deaths on board but also “certain
overt and common signs and symptoms of sick travelers” to the CDC prior
to arriving into the U.S. Barbara Loe Fisher, NVIC co-founder and
president noted:7

It is not a good idea to make the public’s airport
experience even more difficult by enlisting flight crews to report
passengers with symptoms that could be nothing more than eczema, acne,
norovirus or the common cold.
… What started out as a vacation could be turned into a nightmare spent in an airport quarantine center.

The required signs and symptoms include the following, and must be
reported not only during international travel, but also on airline
flights flying domestically, between states:8
Airlines
(1) Fever (defined as measured temperature of 100.4 degrees F [38
degrees C] or greater, feels warm to the touch or gives a history of
feeling feverish)
AND one of the following:

Skin rash
Difficulty breathing
Persistent cough
Decreased consciousness or recent onset of confusion
New unexplained bleeding or bruising
Persistent diarrhea
Persistent vomiting (other than airsickness)
Headache with stiff neck
Appearing obviously unwell; OR

(2) Fever that has persisted for more than 48 hours; OR
(3) Other signs or symptoms of communicable disease CDC is concerned about and has announced in the Federal Register.
Ships
(1) Fever (defined as measured temperature of 100.4 degrees F [38
degrees C] or greater, feels warm to the touch or gives a history of
feeling feverish)
AND one of the following:

Skin rash
Difficulty breathing or suspected or confirmed pneumonia
Persistent cough or cough with bloody sputum
Decreased consciousness or recent onset of confusion
New unexplained bruising or bleeding
Persistent vomiting (other than seasickness)
Headache with stiff neck
Appearing obviously unwell; OR

(2) Fever that has persisted for more than 48 hours; OR
(3) Acute gastroenteritis (inflammation of stomach or intestines or both), defined as:

Diarrhea, defined as within a 24-hour period, three or more episodes
of loose stools or an occurrence of loose stools that is above normal
for the person, or
Vomiting and one or more of the following additional symptoms: one
or more episodes of loose stools in a 24-hour period, abdominal cramps,
headache, muscle aches or fever (temperature of 100.4 degrees F [38
degrees C] or greater); OR

(4) Other signs or symptoms of communicable disease CDC is concerned about and has announced in the Federal Register.

Is This Part of Global Efforts to Eradicate Measles?

In August 2016, NPRM, the CDC pointed to “the ongoing persistence of measles
in the United States” as an example of why the updated rules are
necessary. They even said, “Every case of measles in the United States
is considered a public health emergency because of its extremely high
transmissibility.”9
The World Health Organization (WHO) and U.S. health officials have
targeted mass MMR vaccination campaigns as the solution to eradicating
measles, even though serious questions remain about the vaccine’s efficacy and safety.
In the final rule, measles outbreaks in the U.S. were again
highlighted. It illustrates why travelers with a rash or cough could
become the subject of scrutiny and reporting to the CDC by airline and
other public transportation personnel as the federal government more
closely monitors almost all signs of illness in all travelers.

Will the New Rules Backfire?

Once it becomes widespread knowledge that an airline pilot or ship’s
captain must report symptoms of common illness directly to the federal
government, and that information could be used to immediately detain or
quarantine you, there’s a good chance people may try to evade the
system. Jennifer Nuzzo, a research epidemiologist at the Johns Hopkins
Center for Health Security, told NPR:10

The worst-case scenario is that people may try to
evade these procedures by, say, taking medicines to reduce their fever,
or be afraid to report it if they are feeling ill on a plane … We don’t
want to drive cases underground by putting measures in place that seem
as though they carry some penalties associated with them.

Emergency Health Measures Should Be Grounded in Science, Not Fear

While one concern is that increased surveillance of travelers by
health officials could drive diseases underground, another is that
overreaching power could allow people to be wrongly detained. An op-ed
piece in The New York Times described the case of Kaci Hickox, who had volunteered as a nurse treating Ebola patients in Sierra Leone, West Africa.
She had no known exposure to the disease, as she had worn heavy
protective gear, but upon her return to the U.S., New Jersey Gov. Chris
Christie ordered her quarantined to an area hospital. This was against
the current CDC guidelines, which stated she should monitor herself for
symptoms at home.
“It’s imperative that whenever the next outbreak hits, emergency
health measures are grounded in scientific evidence and guided by clear,
fair rules to protect people from wrongful deprivation of their
liberties,” the Times piece states, continuing:11

That incident wasn’t an anomaly. During a bubonic
plague outbreak in 1900, for example, government officials quarantined
the entire Chinatown neighborhood of San Francisco.
The quarantine applied only to Chinese residents, and lacked
any scientific basis. It was fueled by little more than naked fear and
racism. Given this history, we want to ensure that federal officials
applying the new regulations will act on the basis of science and
evidence and not on politics and public fear.

What Diseases are Covered in the Quarantine Rules?

According to the new rules, “CDC may apprehend, detain, examine or
conditionally release an individual if it reasonably believes that
he/she may be infected with or exposed to a quarantinable communicable
disease.”12 Those diseases currently include the following:

Cholera
Diphtheria
Infectious tuberculosis
Plague
Smallpox
Yellow fever
Viral hemorrhagic fevers (Lassa, Marburg, Ebola, Crimean-Congo, South American and others not yet isolated or named)
Severe acute respiratory syndromes (e.g., SARS, MERS)
Influenza caused by novel or re-emergent influenza viruses that are causing, or have the potential to cause, a pandemic

However, as mentioned, the new rule also allows the CDC to step up
federal surveillance of travelers displaying a number of common illness
symptoms associated with non-quarantinable diseases like measles and pertussis.
Although travelers found to be infected with or at risk for being
infected with a non-quarantinable disease like measles cannot be
quarantined by federal health officials, state health officials do have
the legal authority to detain and quarantine residents infected with
certain communicable diseases, depending upon the state’s public health
laws.
The final rule was originally scheduled to go into effect Feb. 21,
2017. However, with the change in administration, the new regulations
are being reviewed and will not take effect until the end of March 2017,
at the earliest.13

The Vatican’s Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin
said Monday that the Holy See is concerned over growing populist and
nationalist movements, both in Europe and in the United States.

The Holy See has not demonstrated any such concern about jihad
attacks and the Islamic supremacist incursion into the West through
Hijra and the violent crimes associated with it. Where is Pope Francis’
compassion for the millions of victims of Islamic supremacists and
jihadists globally?

The Vatican’s Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin
said Monday that the Holy See is concerned over growing populist and
nationalist movements, both in Europe and in the United States.
In an interview for the Italian evening news on the state-owned RAI
network, Cardinal Parolin was asked whether the Vatican is worried about
what the interviewer called “the spread of nationalism and populism not
only in Europe but also in the United States with Donald Trump.”
“I think so, I think so,” Parolin said. “Certainly these closings are
not a good sign,” since many of them “are born of fear, which is not a
good counsellor.”
The Cardinal also recalled recent comments by Pope Francis, saying that “there is a risk of history repeating itself.”
In a lengthy interview with the Spanish daily El País in late
January, Pope Francis was asked whether he was concerned about the
spread of a populism that capitalizes on “people’s fears,” preaching “a
message of hate.”
In his reply, Francis distinguished between a good, grassroots
populism, where it is the people who are “the protagonists,” and a cult
of personality where a charismatic figure like Hitler rises to power and
is welcomed as a savior figure.
“For me the most typical example of populism in the European sense is
the Germany of 1933,” Francis said. After Hindenburg, “Germany tries to
get back up, searches for its identity, looks for a leader, someone to
give it back its identity and a youngster named Adolf Hitler says, ‘I
can do it; I can do it.’”
Whereas the first sort of populism is a good thing, the latter can be very dangerous, he said.
The risk, Francis said, is that in times of crisis we lack judgment
and people can begin to think, “Let’s look for a savior who gives us
back our identity and let’s defend ourselves with walls, barbed-wire,
whatever, from other people that may rob us of our identity.”
“And that is a very serious thing,” he said. “That is why I always try to say: talk among yourselves, talk to one another.”
In the same interview, the Pope was asked specifically whether he was
worried about Donald Trump, whom the interviewer described as a
xenophobe filled with “hatred for foreigners.”
Francis said that the new U.S. President deserved to be judged by his actions, not by “prophecies” of what he may or may not do.
“I think that we must wait and see,” Francis said. “I don’t like to
get ahead of myself nor judge people prematurely. We will see how he
acts, what he does, and then I will have an opinion.”
The Pope said it is “most unwise” to be afraid of something that might or might not happen.

U.S. Bishops Welcome Blocking of Trump Travel Ban

The temporary ban on immigration from seven Muslim
countries is dead, at least for the time being, and the U.S. Conference
of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) couldn’t be happier.

Bishop Joe Vasquez of Austin, Texas, who is the USCCB’s chair of the Committee on Migration, issued a statement saying:

We welcome the decision of the 9th Circuit Court of
Appeals. We respect the rule of law and the American judicial process.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to resettling refugees and all
those fleeing persecution. At this time, we remain particularly
dedicated to ensuring that affected refugee and immigrant families are
not separated and that they continue to be welcomed to our country. We
will continue to welcome the newcomer as it is a vital part of our
Catholic faith and an enduring element of our American values and
tradition.

By ignoring the national
security issues that this “refugee” influx poses, Vazquez’s statement
was sadly typical of USCCB communiqués on immigration issues. He spoke
about the Church’s “commitment to resettling refugees and all those
fleeing persecution,” but about those refugees who are coming in order
to persecute non-Muslims, Vazquez was silent.

Is such a concern preposterous?
Not at all. In 2016 alone, there were numerous incidents of Muslim
migrants staging jihad attacks in the United States. In February 2016,
Somali Muslim migrant Mohammad Barry stabbed multiple patrons at a
restaurant owned by an Israeli Arab Christian. In September 2016, Ahmad
Khan Rahami, an Afghan Muslim migrant, set off bombs in New York City
and New Jersey. Arcan Cetin, a Turkish Muslim migrant, murdered five
people in a mall in Burlington, Washington in September 2016. In October
2016, Dahir Adan, another Somali Muslim migrant, stabbed mall shoppers
in St. Cloud while screaming “Allahu akbar.” In November 2016, Abdul
Razak Artan, yet another Somali Muslim migrant, injured nine people with
a car and knife attack at Ohio State University.

In all, no fewer than 72 jihad terrorists have come to the U.S. from the countries listed in Trump’s immigration ban.

What’s more, all of the jihadis
who murdered 130 people in Paris in November 2015 had just entered
Europe as refugees. In February 2015, the Islamic State boasted it would
soon flood Europe with as many as 500,000 refugees. The Lebanese education minister said
in September 2015 that there were 20,000 jihadis among the refugees in
camps in his country. On May 10, 2016, Patrick Calvar, the head of
France’s DGSI internal intelligence agency, said that the Islamic State was using migrant routes through the Balkans to get jihadis into Europe.

The USCCB should also take careful note of the fact that Muslim migrants in Europe are targeting Christians and churches.

In France, anti-Christian attacks have risen by 245 percent. In Germany, Muslims reportedly “devastated” a Christian parish center and wrote “Islamist slogans” on the walls. In Italy, a Muslim set fire to a church Nativity scene. Most notoriously, in France Muslims entered a Catholic church during mass and murdered the elderly priest at the altar. Shortly thereafter, Muslims entered another church in France and left a photograph of the perpetrator of the jihad massacre in Nice on the altar.

Do the U.S. Catholic bishops
really think that such incidents will not or cannot happen here? They
have never answered that question or even been asked it, because all
discussion of this issue is immediately buried under charges of
“Islamophobia.”

The USCCB’s steadfast refusal
to address these issues, and strong opposition to Trump’s ban, may stem
from motives somewhat less high-minded than those that Bishop Vazquez
articulated….

The abrupt resignation Monday evening of White House
national security adviser Michael Flynn is the culmination of a secret,
months-long campaign by former Obama administration confidantes to
handicap President Donald Trump’s national security apparatus and
preserve the nuclear deal with Iran, according to multiple sources in
and out of the White House who described to the Washington Free Beacon a behind-the-scenes effort by these officials to plant a series of damaging stories about Flynn in the national media.
The effort, said to include former Obama administration
adviser Ben Rhodes—the architect of a separate White House effort to
create what he described as a pro-Iran echo chamber—included a small
task force of Obama loyalists who deluged media outlets with stories
aimed at eroding Flynn’s credibility, multiple sources revealed.
The operation primarily focused on discrediting Flynn, an opponent of
the Iran nuclear deal, in order to handicap the Trump administration’s
efforts to disclose secret details of the nuclear deal with Iran that
had been long hidden by the Obama administration.
Insiders familiar with the anti-Flynn campaign told the Free Beacon
that these Obama loyalists plotted in the months before Trump’s
inauguration to establish a set of roadblocks before Trump’s national
security team, which includes several prominent opponents of diplomacy
with Iran. The Free Beacon first reported on this effort in January.
Sources who spoke to the Free Beacon requested anonymity in
order to speak freely about the situation and avoid interfering with the
White House’s official narrative about Flynn, which centers on his
failure to adequately inform the president about a series of phone calls
with Russian officials.
Flynn took credit for his missteps regarding these phone calls in a
brief statement released late Monday evening. Trump administration
officials subsequently stated that Flynn’s efforts to mislead the
president and vice president about his contacts with Russia could not be
tolerated.
However, multiple sources closely involved in the situation pointed
to a larger, more secretive campaign aimed at discrediting Flynn and
undermining the Trump White House.
“It’s undeniable that the campaign to discredit Flynn was well
underway before Inauguration Day, with a very troublesome and
politicized series of leaks designed to undermine him,” said one veteran
national security adviser with close ties to the White House team.
“This pattern reminds me of the lead up to the Iran deal, and probably
features the same cast of characters.”
The Free Beacon first reported in January that, until its final days in office, the Obama administration hosted
several pro-Iran voices who were critical in helping to mislead the
American public about the terms of the nuclear agreement. This included a
former Iranian government official and the head of the National Iranian
American Council, or NIAC, which has been accused of serving as Iran’s
mouthpiece in Washington, D.C.
Since then, top members of the Obama administration’s national
security team have launched a communications infrastructure after they
left the White House, and have told reporters they are using that infrastructure to undermine Trump’s foreign policy.
“It’s actually Ben Rhodes, NIAC, and the Iranian mullahs who are
celebrating today,” said one veteran foreign policy insider who is close
to Flynn and the White House. “They know that the number one target is
Iran … [and] they all knew their little sacred agreement with Iran was
going to go off the books. So they got rid of Flynn before any of the
[secret] agreements even surfaced.”
Flynn had been preparing to publicize many of the details about the
nuclear deal that had been intentionally hidden by the Obama
administration as part of its effort to garner support for the deal,
these sources said.
Flynn is now “gone before anybody can see what happened” with these
secret agreements, said the second insider close to Flynn and the White
House….

what was essentially an anti Trump screed, saying that proposals to
restrict immigration from Muslim countries that are hotspots of jihad
terror shouldn’t even be made, so as to avoid offending Muslims.

He was in favor of using al Qaeda jihadis to defeat the Islamic State,
which would give us a region full of al-Qaeda jihadis with American
weapons and materiel who hate the United States and want to destroy it.
(This is essentially what we have now in Syria, where Obama armed
“moderates” who were really al-Qaeda jihadis.)

When he headed up the international coalition in Afghanistan, he said that
Florida pastor Terry Jones’ plan to burn the Qur’an was “hateful, it
was intolerant and it was extremely disrespectful and again, we condemn
it in the strongest manner possible.” He warned that the Qur’an-burning would endanger American troops in Afghanistan and elsewhere. He issued a statement saying
that he hoped “the Afghan people understand that the actions of a small
number of individuals, who have been extremely disrespectful to the
holy Quran, are not representative of any of the countries of the
international community who are in Afghanistan to help the Afghan
people.””

think of themselves as victims will never be free and they will be a

In
the year 1620 and beyond, they crossed the Atlantic in sailing ships
to get to America and freedom. The journey could take anywhere from
six to 12 weeks to make the crossing, depending on the winds. Life aboard
ship was primitive at best. Firsthand accounts speak of illness, cramped
quarters, food and water rations. They had to endure scurvy, diphtheria,
dysentery and seasickness. They were at the mercy of the captain, ship
owners ….. and the sea. Many of them died during the passage. Because
the journey was so long, when passengers died, their bodies were thrown
overboard because there was no way to store them on the ship. The bones
of thousands of Pilgrims are held forever in the bosom of the Atlantic
Ocean, on their failed journey to freedom.

There
was no government to protect the Pilgrims, pay their fare to the new
land, or provide a handout if they got sick or destitute. Those who
could not pay were required to remain on board the ship until they were
sold into indentured servitude and forced to work to pay for their voyage.

When
the surviving Pilgrims landed on the shores of America, they were faced
with life in the wilderness and attacks by local Indian tribes. Health
care and doctors were almost non-existent. You either survived because
of your wits and plain dumb luck, or died from the elements, starvation,
disease, or an Indian arrow.

They
crossed the plains in covered wagons to reach some dream they had of
owning land in the territories, or striking it rich in the gold fields.
They built up little towns and roads, bridges, businesses and schools.
Then the trains came and they could expand their travel and markets
exponentially. The only thing the government did was to provide the
land for the railroad companies and land grants to eager settlers, under
the Homestead Act of 1862. If the settler worked and improved his land
for five years, it was his land to keep for free and he will have earned
it many times over.

But
other than that, there was no government farming subsidies. There were
no food stamps, rent assistance, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security,
welfare, much less free college tuition. These hardy people built a
nation and they did it with little help from government and even less
government interference. They persevered by main strength and awkwardness.
Many times they lost, but got up again and pressed forward. Their strength
was built on adversity. They didn’t “cry”, “moan”,
“groan”, or “complain” to government when the going
got tough. They just worked harder or found a way to “fix”
whatever they faced at the time. They didn’t win all the time but nevertheless,
most never gave up. That beginning environment of adversity forged the
strength of a nation and was the foundation of a strong, prosperous
and exceptional America.

When
the wave of European immigrants passed through Ellis Island (1892 to
1954) eager to come to the land of the free and the home of the brave,
government provided little to no assistance. In fact, the government
went to great lengths to see that the arriving immigrants could support
themselves and had enough money to get started in their new land. The
government even initiated a “head tax” for arriving immigrants.
They were screened for disease and other maladies. Up to 20% of the
arriving immigrants were returned to their native country for one reason
or another.

Not
so today. Illegal immigrants that evade the Border Patrol receive no
screening for disease or the ability to sustain themselves. There is
little effort to round them up and deport them for breaking our immigration
laws, once “lost” in the general population. Instead, they
are molly coddled, pampered, paid and protected by sanctuary jurisdictions
and immigration advocates.

Legal
and illegal immigrants and refugees arriving in America receive all
kinds of government assistance, a monumental burden on the American
taxpayer, a huge drag on the economy and a giant magnet to attract more
of them. It is no wonder that America is broke and deep in debt.

But
let’s get back to the “Poor Me” whiners, crybabies, protestors
and self-ascribed victims in America that inhabit our colleges, ghettos
and immigrant enclaves. Millions of Americans and legal and illegal
immigrants have become the “poor me” generation, most of them
subscribing to the left side of politics. Their forbearers of colonial
and pioneer days are rolling in their graves to see how their descendants
turned out. More than half of them wouldn’t survive under the conditions
our forefathers and mothers had to endure. If they suddenly found themselves
in the wilderness, most of them wouldn’t have the slightest idea on
how to survive, because they haven’t been taught.

They
haven’t been taught about self-reliance, personal responsibility and
individual freedom. They haven’t been trained to survive when the going
gets tough. Adversity builds strength and character. The easy life,
where there is no discipline and where everything is provided for them,
leads to personal weakness, low self-esteem and the desire to indulge
in pleasures of the flesh. Instead of looking to them selves to solve
their own problems, they have been taught to look to government and
government is only too eager to “help” them, but with a string
attached. The string comes at the voting booth where those receiving
the government “help” are obliged to vote for those providing
the “help.”

We
all know which Party is offering the “help”, with money from
the Public Treasury to which none in the Party own any piece thereof.
Under law, they call this robbing-the-till for personal gain what it
is, grand theft, punishable by fines and imprisonment. Unfortunately,
the “help” this Party offered to its “Poor Me” groupies
turned out to be a very expensive, slowly evaporating mirage on a distant
horizon. That “help” just converted otherwise potentially
strong individuals, into crybabies and bowls of quivering yellow jelly
and made them helpless cripples.

What
we do know is that those reading this column are probably not members
of the “Poor Me” generation.

Ever
since the government-triggered Great Depression and the rapid rise of
socialism under FDR, America has been headed downhill, away from individual
freedom, self-reliance and personal responsibility and towards collectivism,
dependency and government control of everything. The passage of the
16th Amendment in 1913, which created the Federal Reserve and the IRS,
was no coincidence. It was no coincidence that the government, in the
late 1920’s, retained the University of Illinois and Harvard University
to study how to control people through their subconscious minds. It
was no coincidence that the U. S. economy suddenly collapsed in 1929.
It was no coincidence that socialism rose rapidly under FDR during the
1930’s and beyond. It was no coincidence that the gold standard was
abolished in 1933. America was bankrupt, threatened by Communism and
headed for Hell. Socialism and top-down control of the masses was government’s
and the central bankers’ answer.

We
just received a response to one of our recent articles where the person
described, in one paragraph, what happened to America since the 1930’s.
He wrote:

“The
‘Master Plan’ for the USA has always been to reduce the USA to a third
world feudal state by diluting the gene and intelligence pool, degrading
education, attacking tradition and culture, abolishing the nuclear family,
promoting sexual perversion and abnormality and hybrid relationships,
debasing the currency, eliminating the middle class, dissolving Christianity,
ignoring the Constitution, weakening and removing personal liberty and
base freedoms, and importing as many impoverished and uneducated persons
from around the globe to economically and socially drain as much life
from the US as possible ….. Marxism masquerading as immigration. The
US has been in the crosshairs for decades because to take down the ‘Crown
Jewel’ of the Western world is to send a message to all other countries
that they can also be co-opted. ‘Front end’ rationale for any action
taken by this government is not ever the reason for the action. Ponder
no longer on the matter. The destruction of western civilization is
the goal.”

When
you throw back the curtain and expose the politicians, central bankers
and industrialist “Wizards” calling the shots, this gentleman
cannot be too far off the mark. The whiners, crybabies, protestors and
self-ascribed victims in America are the result of actions of the “Wizards”
pulling the strings of international money, commerce, trade, wars and
politics. The “Wizards” have bought off the people with a
few pieces of silver and filled their “Little
Black Boxes“ with hogwash, mush and propaganda.

These
same “Wizards” (mostly Progressives) have convinced
the “Poor Me” generation that because they are poor, sick,
out of work, an illegal immigrant, refugee, Black, Latino, gay, transgender,
or just plain lazy, they have an irrevocable claim to everyone else’s
money and sweat labor, or special treatment from government. To pay
for their alleged irrevocable claim, or special treatment, the government
collects that money in an act of forced charity ….. at the point of
a gun. Charity should have never become the purview of government and
was never authorized by the Constitution. Charity, to be true charity,
must be voluntary, not mandatory. Mandatory charity is slavery by any
other name.

Sadly,
the weakest among us have sold their souls and given away their freedom
for so little because their parents did not teach them critical thinking,
personal responsibility, to question everything, how to recognize a
fraud and to never trust government.

Everything
you think you know is probably a government, media, or academia created
illusion with the sole intent of controlling the masses. The international
environmental movement and social justice were designed to that end
and to re-distribute the wealth of western nations. Economy destroying,
expensive legislative actions to limit alleged man-caused global warming,
are just one of the elements of the international environmental plan
of control.

Americans
have been hoodwinked by “100+
Years of Progressive Rule“ that champion a collectivist
culture, social justice, radical environmentalism, appeasement of our
enemies, a massive welfare state, illegal immigrants, sanctuary cities,
open borders and mindless compliant citizens. Progressives have created
multiples of a “Poor Me” generation, awash in self-pity, low
self-esteem and rabid self-indulgence, requiring that their only salvation
is being dependent on Mother government when things go wrong in their
lives and things are always going wrong in their lives.

With
over half of the American people steeped in this “dependent”
culture, planted there by decades of constant Progressive indoctrination
and brainwashing, the fate of America is pre-ordained unless President
Trump and those that support him can trigger a massive flashback to
the time of self-reliance, independence, personal responsibility and
individual freedom. As we stated in our last article: “A
successful Trump presidency may very well prevent the revolution that
was coming to America, if Progressivism were to prevail.”

But
like the fighter pilot says after consuming over half of his fuel, “we
have passed the point of no return ….. without midair refueling.”
We had better hope that midair refueling happens soon ….. very soon,
or Progressivism, collectivism and socialism will have won and individual
freedom will have been thrown on the trash heap of forgotten Republics.

A global effort dubbed “Covenant of Democratic Nations”
is working to abolish the United Nations, widely ridiculed as the
“dictators club,” and replace it with an international forum open
exclusively to free and democratic nations. Basically, it is a “repeal
and replace” campaign to protect the world from the UN and its
increasingly vicious attacks on freedom and self-government.
A number of lawmakers around the world have expressed interest in the
campaign as the movement travels from city to city hosting events to
expose the UN and promote an alternative.

The figurative straw that broke the camel’s back for organizers
appears to have been UN Security Council resolution 2334 declaring the
presence of Jews in parts of Jerusalem to be a violation of supposed
“international law.” The move sparked outrage across the political spectrum. Even stalwart neo-conservatives and globalists jumped on the bandwagon
to defund the UN. On Capitol Hill, interest in protecting America and
liberty from the UN has surged since that vote. The “Covenant of
Democratic Nations” agenda also has strong support among certain Jewish
and Zionist groups seeking to defend Israel against the constant UN demonization.

But with the dictator-dominated UN becoming increasingly and openly hostile to freedom, borders, and self-government — not to mention the perpetual UN scandals, the regular rape of children by UN “peace” troops, the retaliation against whistleblowers, and other horrors — the broader movement to protect humanity and liberty from the UN has been growing for decades
as well. And in the years ahead, it is almost certain to keep getting
stronger. On the campaign trail, President Donald Trump was a fierce
critic of the UN, too, pointing out that the outfit was “not a friend”
to freedom, Israel, or the United States.

The Covenant of Democratic Nations held its “Global Launch”
event last month on Capitol Hill. “The League of Nations outlived its
usefulness during the Hitler regime,” read the invitation for the
January 23 confab, held at the Rayburn House Office Building. “After the
War, the League was replaced by the United Nations. Now the United
Nations has outlived its usefulness and must be replaced with a new
international body, one comprised solely of those nations governed by
democratic principles, devoted to genuine democracy, equality, and
peaceful relations throughout the world.”

“The United States should defund and withdraw from the United Nations
and reconstitute the movement to achieve world peace for all in a new
world body: The Covenant of Democratic Nations,” the campaign continued
on its website and in various documents and invitations. “The Covenant
of Democratic Nations will review, re-ratify, amend, or nullify all acts
and resolutions of the United Nations and its agencies creating a new
body of long-overdue, reformed, and updated international law.” The
Trump administration is already working on executive orders and actions
that would fit nicely with that agenda.

Among those in attendance at the “Global Launch” in Washington, D.C.,
was Representative Trent Franks (R-Ariz.). “This is a critically
important issue,” he explained. “The United Nations started out with a
noble charter … but the United Nations has not only failed their
charter, they have distinctly moved in the opposite direction and done
actual harm. They have become an anti-American, anti-Semitic,
anti-democratic, anti-freedom mob. We need some type of alternative — a
Covenant of Democratic Nations. We need to repeal and replace.”

On the campaign’s website, Franks is also quoted blasting the UN.
“The United Nations is a proven failure and must be replaced,” said the
congressman, who has a cumulative 73 percent on the Freedom Index,
which ranks lawmakers based on their fidelity to the U.S. Constitution.
“An international body with the goal of promulgating global stability
and protecting and promoting inalienable human rights and freedom in the
world requires an entirely new institution. Founded by genuine
democracies, limited to democracies, and devoted to democracy as the
foundation for world peace, the Covenant of Democratic Nations would be
able to succeed where the U.N. has failed.”

A number of other prominent voices also spoke at the event. Among them was Edwin Black, author of the book IBM and the Holocaust,
and one of the lead figures behind the new campaign. “The world body
began as a sick organ, and deteriorated from there,” Black explained in
recent commentaries about the proposed new body, highlighting the fact
that the UN’s member regimes include the most blood-thirsty and brutal
dictatorships on the planet.

Another leading activist pushing the plan who attended the Global
Launch was Sarah Stern, founder of the pro-Israel Endowment for Middle
East Truth (EMET). Panelist Kenneth Marcus, former director of the U.S.
Civil Rights Commission, pushed an “Amexit” from the UN. Finally,
constitutional attorney Nathan Lewin, who has reportedly worked on
dozens of Supreme Court cases, said the UN “deserves an obituary” after
“signing its own death warrant” by passing the Security Council
resolution claiming the Jewish presence in East Jerusalem and Judea and
Samaria was illegal.

Ben Cohen of the Israel Project also spoke at the event. “You now
have states that are basically glorified concentration camps … like
North Korea, who get to have an equal voice with Australia, Canada and
the United States,” he said, highlighting the constant demonization of
Israel at the UN.

Follow-up events have been or will be held in New York, Palm Beach,
San Francisco, Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Los Angeles, Detroit, and
other major cities. A number of additional speakers and panelists have
made appearances at the subsequent events.

Lawmakers in other liberty-minded Western nations have also joined
the bandwagon. Australian Senator Malcolm Roberts with the
anti-globalist One Nation party, for example, said the UN was also a threat to his country.
“This much is quite clear,” he said. “Australia’s values and way of
life are also at risk from insidious institutions such as the unelected
swill that is the United Nations. Action needs to be taken.” He is
facilitating an event by the anti-UN group at the Australian Parliament.

The campaign to repeal and replace the UN has been almost entirely
ignored by the establishment press so far. Indeed, outside of a few
articles and columns in Jewish media outlets, there has been virtually
no U.S. media coverage of the effort. One article on a fringe far-left
website called “BuzzFeed” attacked Senator Roberts as a “far-right wing”
lawmaker for opposing the UN, socialism, and the killing of unborn
children.

Much of the rhetoric of the Covenant of Democratic Nations campaign
has touted “democracy” as the ideal to be pursued and the requirement
for admission. The founders of the United States, though, explicitly
rejected pure democracy as an unstable and dangerous system of
government in which individual rights would not be adequately protected.
Instead, they decided to establish a constitutional republic, governed
by the rule of law and democratically elected representatives, in which
the God-given rights of individuals would be protected.

In The Federalist, No. 10,
James Madison, known as the “father” of the U.S. Constitution, made the
point clearly, saying that democracies “have ever been spectacles of
turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with
personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as
short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths.” To
guard against such a system and its risks to life, liberty, and
property, Madison advocated a republican form of government. “A
republic, by which I mean a government in which the scheme of
representation takes place, opens a different prospect, and promises the
cure for which we are seeking,” he continued.

And of course, the Constitution he wrote made that explicit as well.
In Article IV, Section 4, the U.S. Constitution mandates that the United
States “guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of
Government.” Madison was not referring to the GOP, obviously, but to the
system of government based on the rule of law to protect individual
rights.

It appears, though, that rather than “democracy,” per se, the
individuals behind the Covenant of Democratic Nations hope to impose
admissibility requirements such as self-government and elected
leadership. On the other hand, membership would be closed to
dictatorships and unfree regimes, which are welcome in the UN and even dominate its discredited UN “Human Rights Council.”

Of course, the Covenant of Democratic Nations is hardly the only
effort to replace the scandal-plagued UN with something else.
Billionaire Swedish-Hungarian investor Laszlo Szombatfalvy, for example,
is offering $5 million in prizes to whoever can invent a new UN-style
organization to allegedly solve global problems better than the current
scheme.

“The biggest threats to humanity stem from the global community’s
inability to deal with them effectively,” the Hungarian-born billionaire
said in an interview with Swedish media. However, unlike many UN
critics, Szombatfalvy appears to be a fervent globalist, hoping the “UN
2.0” will impose a global “climate” regime and other radical schemes as
part of a new system of “global governance for the 21st century.”

In the United States, various efforts to quash or rein in the UN are
currently under development or being explored. Following the Security
Council vote on Israel, a large group of lawmakers vowed to stop U.S. tax funding of the so-called “dictators club” unless and until it was reversed. President Trump, meanwhile, is working on a plan to strip “at least 40 percent” of the UN’s American funding.
American taxpayers pay over $10 billion per year to the UN and its
tentacles, more than 185 other UN member states combined, and in
exchange receive constant attacks on freedom, the Constitution, Judeo-Christian civilization, and other American values.

Separately, a group of liberty-minded U.S. lawmakers is working to have the U.S. government completely withdraw from the UN. The legislation, known as the American Sovereignty Restoration Act
(H.R 193), would also evict the UN from U.S. soil while ending American
support for the global outfit and all of its agencies. Representative
Franks of Arizona, who joined the Covenant of Democratic Nations
campaign, is not yet a co-sponsor of H.R. 193. His office did not have a
formal response by press time.

As it becomes clear to more and more people around the world that the
UN is not compatible with freedom or self-government, many more ideas
for “replacing” the UN will undoubtedly emerge. Whether the Covenant of
Democratic Nations is the right solution to protecting humanity from the
out-of-control UN remains to be seen. It may not even need to be
replaced. And considering the fact that globalists on both sides of the political spectrum have proposed similar schemes for “entangling alliances,”
a skeptical eye is certainly justified. However, simply by advancing
the global conversation on the threat posed by the UN dictators club,
the latest campaign to abolish it is performing a valuable service for
humanity and liberty.

Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI) is a co-sponsor of a recently introduced bill that would eliminate the federal education department.

Amash’s office said in a statement reported by Fox17:

Our Constitution reserves the power over education to the
states, and Rep. Amash has consistently supported putting parents and
teachers back in control. While relatively little federal money for
public education comes from Washington, federal bureaucracy and mandates
reduce the total amount of resources available to public schools and
cannot properly account for the individualized needs of students.

The measure, H.R. 899, introduced
by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), is only one sentence long and states,
“The Department of Education Shall Terminate on December 31, 2018.”

“Unelected bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. should not be in charge of
our children’s intellectual and moral development,” Massie said.
“States and local
communities are best positioned to shape curricula that meet the needs of their students.”
Massie launched the bill on the same day Betsy DeVos – also from
Michigan – was confirmed as U.S. Education Secretary. According to
mlive.com, the timing of the bill was not intended as a response to DeVos’s confirmation, but to the greater issue of federal control of education.
In a Facebook
post in November, Amash – a longtime defender of parental and local
control of education – congratulated DeVos on her nomination, yet still
expressed his hope for a return to local control of education.

“I look forward to working with her to empower parents and local
communities, advance school choice and competition, protect the right of
homeschooling, and stop federal mandates and harmful initiatives like
Race to the Top and Common Core,” he said.
Amash voted against the massive new federal education law known as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), confirming what many education scholars have said about the law – that it “further entrenches the federal government in education.”

In 2014, Amash and a coalition of 42 conservative members of Congress introduced a measure that condemned the federal government’s overreach in local school districts through Common Core.
“I’m proud of the many parents, local school districts, and states that have resisted Common Core,” Amash said in a statement. “I want them to know that they have partners in Congress working to roll back this harmful policy.”
“The federal government should not impose Common Core standards and
curriculum on our kids,” he added. “We have a strong tradition in this
country of parental control of education, which fosters competition and
diverse approaches to learning. That tradition is embodied in the Tenth
Amendment, which is supposed to bar this kind of federal interference.”
Other co-sponsors of the measure to eliminate the federal education
department are: Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), Rep.
Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA), and Rep. Raul Labrador
(R-ID).

Over the past decade, while most evangelical colleges, seminaries, and universities
have allowed the influence of the Spiritual Formation movement into
their schools to one degree or another, not all of them had gone so
far as to create a Master’s Degree program in Spiritual Formation. In
fact, ten years ago, there weren’t that many schools that had
Spiritual Formation degree programs. But things are changing rapidly.
Today, a large number of the evangelical seminaries and universities
have such degree programs.

These schools that offer such a degree have
taken the plunge into the deeper waters of contemplative spirituality.
And while there is currently an effort by some of these schools to
convince the church that there is a “good” Spiritual Formation, the
fact is, where there is Spiritual Formation, there is always a trail
that leads to the mystics as Lighthouse Trails has pointed out for many
years.

Below is a partial list of
Christian colleges, universities, and seminaries that offer Masters
Degrees in Spiritual Formation. Some of these are Spiritual Formation
specializations or concentrations tacked onto Master of Divinity or
Master of Arts degrees. In other cases, Spiritual Formation programs
are tucked inside Christian Leadership degrees and Christian Formation
and/or Soul Care degrees.

These seminaries and universities are where the
church’s next generation of pastors and leaders are coming from. The
church has been hijacked and is being held hostage to spiritual
deception, but few seem to care. The only thing we are learning from
Christian leaders today is “Simon Says” and “Follow the Leader”
because most will not speak up on this vital issue. On the contrary,
they promote it.

“Silence” is the latest movie by Martin Scorsese, who also produced
“The Last Temptation of Christ.” I have read several reviews by
professing Christians who are recommending it without reservations.
Additionally, the Dove Foundation awarded the movie 4 out of 5 doves.
Charisma News asks, “Is Martin Scorsese’s ‘Silence’ Prophetic?” CBN also
presented a rave review. Christianity Today entitled its review,
“Scorsese’s ‘Silence’ Asks What It Really Costs to Follow Jesus.”

Another review in CT is entitled, “Silence Review: Hollywood’s Gift
To The Church That Might Just Save Your Faith.” And what is the message
of “Silence” that might save your life? The message of the movie is
antithetical to true faith.

The title of Lumindeo’s review of the movie is, “Silence—A Christian’s Contemplative Guide.” [1]
In the “About” section of the Lumindeo website it is described as “a
network created by and for passionate followers of Jesus Christ.” If
Lumindeo consists of passionate followers of Jesus Christ, why don’t
they know that Christianity never grew in apostasy, but always in
persecution and martyrdom?

Crosswalk likewise implies that it is a Christian-themed film with
the statement, “Theologians, look no further: this movie is jam-packed
with spiritual themes.” [2]
Spiritual themes, perhaps, but Christian themes? Not by any stretch.
Crosswalk reveals a misunderstanding of true Christianity in the
following statement.

“The Christians in the film are Jesuit Catholics…”

The truth is that “Silence” is not a Christian film. It was not
produced by a demonstrable Christian and has nothing to do with biblical
Christianity. National Catholic Reporter declares the movie as,
“Scorsese’s ‘Silence’ is his most Catholic film.”[3] I agree with that assessment. “Silence” is Roman Catholicism presented as true Christianity.

The major theme in “Silence” is about renouncing Christ when
threatened by martyrdom. In fact, the apostate Father Ferreira urges the
Jesuit Rodrigues to apostatize by insisting, “If Christ were here He
would have acted. Apostatized. For their sake. Christ would certainly
have done at least that to help men.”

In fact, Rodrigues is overtly presented as a “Christ” in the film and
the people worshipped him. When he apostatized, it was to the people as
if Christ had apostatized.

Furthermore, Ferreira’s statement is a heretical interpretation of
Christ’s mission. Christ declared that He came to die for our sins. His
sacrifice was to deliver us from the penalty of sin, death, and to
provide for us eternal life. If we deny Him before men, He will deny us
before the Father. (Matthew 10:33)

Rodrigues hears a supernatural voice, presumably Christ, who tells
him to apostatize. The voice says, “Come ahead now. It’s all right. Step
on Me. I understand your pain. I was born into this world to share
men’s pain. I carried this cross for your pain. Step.”

Rodrigues obeys the voice, steps on the fumie, and goes on to
denounce Christianity. That iniquitous deed was followed by an apparent
conversion to Buddhism. (Thomas Merton, the priest who introduced
Contemplative Spirituality, also called The Silence, into Roman
Catholicism, likewise became a Buddhist-sympathizing Catholic.)

The supernatural voice presented an extra-biblical revelation, which
is actually heresy. God’s word declares that trampling on Christ is
egregious and punishable by God.

“Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought
worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of
the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the
Spirit of grace?” – Hebrews 10:29

Additionally, Christ did not come to “share men’s pain,” but to bear
our sin and pay the penalty for it. Trampling on Christ is despising His
sacrifice and rejecting His grace. Christ declared that no one can be
His disciple unless they take up their cross and follow Him. A cross is
to die on. “Silence” violates everything Christ taught about
discipleship.

“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” – Matthew 16:25

In my opinion, the blood of the martyrs will cry out against Martin
Scorsese and everyone involved in this film on the Day of Judgment.

“Silence” is also a spiritually seductive lure into Contemplative
Spirituality. Throughout the movie there are poignant references to
God’s silence. Rodrigues prays, but God does not answer. At one point he
declares, “Despair is the greatest sin, but in the mystery of Your
silence, it crowds my heart.”

In another scene Rodrigues ponders silently, “Lord, I feel the weight
of their fate. Those who have died. Those who will die. Like the weight
of Your silence.”

Makoto Fujimura, the cultural and special adviser to Scorsese during
the film, stated, “…the film is not about the silence of God, but God’s
voice in silence.”

Near the end of the movie the supernatural voice is heard again and declares, “I suffered beside you. I was never silent.”

Rodrigues, now a Buddhist, replies, “It was in the silence that I
heard your voice.” In my opinion it is an unadulterated suggestion that
as a Buddhist he heard Christ in The Silence. He never heard Christ as
a professing Christian until right before he stepped on the fumie.

Scorsese said at the screening of Silence, “My way into spirituality happens to be Roman Catholicism.” Of
course, Roman Catholic spirituality is “the Silence” or contemplative
spirituality. Consider Scorsese’s understanding of Christianity in his
response to the following question. “The Last Temptation of Christ’ and
‘Silence’ — in your art and mind where do these two films find each
other?”

“… But for myself, as a believer, unbeliever, doubter, have
faith, not have faith, go through life, making mistakes, I don’t know.

“Because when [Fr. Rodrigues] does apostatize, he gives
up anything he’s proud of and he’s got nothing left except service,
except compassion. So, he gives up his religion, he gives up his faith
in order to gain his faith. Wow. How do you do that? That’s amazing.
Could you do that?” – Martin Scorsese

I would answer Scorsese with an emphatic “No, you cannot give up
faith to gain faith.” However, he goes on and produces the movie with
the theme of abandoning faith to gain faith. Scorsese portrays the
“service and compassion” of the apostate Jesuit as refined and elevated.
The clear message is that committing apostasy and converting to
Buddhism to avoid martyrdom is spiritually superior to
faithful-unto-death Christianity. How does that compare to the martyrs
in Revelation?

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of
their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” –
Revelation 12:11

In summation, “Silence” is nearly 3 hours of very powerful emotional
manipulation. The movie presents such a horrendously evil view of the
Japanese Inquisitor that the Jesuit Rodrigues appears saintly by
comparison. However, the idea of authentic Christian Jesuits is as
oxymoronic as the concept of biblically validated Roman Catholicism. I
believe the only good value of the movie is that it reveals the complete
failure of Roman Catholicism when the religion masquerades as
Christianity.

The dangers of the movie are first its heterodoxy that one can
apostatize to avoid martyrdom and remain a child of God. An equal danger
is the obvious allure of Contemplative Spirituality. This diabolical
movie may prepare innumerable anemic professing Christians to compromise
their faith under the pressure of persecution. However, it may also be a
vehicle to carrying them into mystical experimentation with
Contemplative Spirituality.

The potential of “Silence” to deceive millions of weak professing
Christians is feasible. Could this be part of the “lying signs and
wonders show” that the Apostle Paul referred to in 2 Thessalonians?

“The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and
with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did
not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” – 2
Thessalonians 2:9-10

Dear Lighthouse Trails:

I have just read the excellent booklet that you generously provided in your recent newsletter by Carl Teichrib; FREEMASONRY: A Revealing Look at the Spiritual Side.

Back in the early 1990s, my family was able to relocate
to a small town in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. We had
previously been members of an independent Bible church in Florida. Among
our first priorities after settling in was to find a similar church
that preached the Word and was focused on missions. We found a very
small Christian and Missionary Alliance Church that at the time had
only about 30 members with a very young pastor that had just graduated
from seminary. This was a wonderful answer to prayer. The church was
already starting to sponsor several missionaries, and the pastor and I
began a close friendship. Soon after the pastor asked me if I would
consider being an elder. I had been a deacon at the church in Florida,
and having been a Christian for only 5 years at this point, I really
thought I might not qualify to be an elder. After much prayer about
this, I humbly accepted the position. Part of my decision was based on
the certainty that the Lord had given me the gift of discernment soon
after I was born again . . . (but that is a whole other story).

The building we rented for our services was very small,
seating maybe 35-40. Soon we began to look for a larger building to suit
our growing congregation. We found a beautiful piece of land just on
the edge of town that had previously been occupied by a Jehovah’s
Witness group. After praying that the Lord would cleanse the building,
we started much needed work on the sanctuary and the small other
building that would be for a nursery.

At this time, a man suddenly started coming to our church
and put himself right away to the business of woodworking and painting.
He had skills in construction that none of us possessed so his help
was greatly appreciated. I soon found out that he was a Freemason. Of
the 5 elders in the congregation, only I and one other (that had left
masonry after becoming a Christian) knew the ramifications of this
man’s intention of becoming a member of the congregation. I looked at
our By-Laws and could not find anything prohibiting a member of a
secret society from becoming a member. So I got busy getting together
materials to discuss with the pastor and elders that dealt with
Freemasonry. At the time, I had a book by John Ankerberg that I used to
highlight all the reasons a Freemason could not be a true Christian
(or at the very least, would be a compromising one) being that he
would be serving two masters.

Since
this man had asked to be a member, we elders had a meeting with him
after the elders had educated themselves about the serious spiritual
ramifications of his joining the membership. We gently but firmly
talked to this man about the biblical reasons that this secret society
could not coexist with Christianity. He claimed he went to a
“Christian Lodge,” and he did not seem to understand what we were
talking about. The man and his wife met with the pastor and said he
was offended by what we were implying. It was his view that we were
saying he was not a Christian, which we had never said in the first
meeting. The next few weeks the man did not come to church. I had the
church vote on a by-law that would not allow a member of a secret
society to become a member of the church. Several weeks later the man
called the pastor and told him that he owned a parcel of land
adjoining our small plot of land. He said he would sell it to us if
only he could become a member of the church and that if the elders and
especially me would apologize to him and his wife based on Matthew
18:15 where a brother sins against another brother!

Much to my surprise (and horror), the pastor (and my
friend) wanted me to ignore the new by-law and personally apologize to
this man solely for the reason of obtaining this parcel of land from
him that he was offering at a great discount!

This was a very agonizing time for me and my wife. We
earnestly prayed about what to do. I could not in good faith apologize
to this man when I had only tried to show him the errors of his way
using Scripture and resources to back up what I was saying. I felt
betrayed by the pastor. Some of the elders (except for one) did not
even know what all the fuss was about! For these reasons, we
reluctantly left that church that we had so dearly come to love. My
wife had started a Pioneer Club for the children and I had taught adult
Sunday school there.

Soon afterwards, a CMA higher up came and discussed church growth, and the man in question sold the parcel to the church.

This is an example of how Satan ruins a good thing when discernment is nearly absent from a local congregation.

By the way, the other elder that was a mason before he
became saved also left that CMA church soon after I did based on his
convictions that very few of the elders and pastor had any discernment
and also because of the new blueprints that the CMA leader had come up
with for church growth. Basically, that plan was to be a
seeker-friendly church that added members that wanted to join whomever
they may be (saved or unsaved).

After we left the CMA church, we looked for a new church
and settled on the big First Baptist church in town (Southern Baptist).
My youngest son accepted Christ as his Savior there and was baptized,
and we were happy they had a nice youth group. About two years later,
the youth pastor left, and they replaced him with a Rick Warren fan.
Several of the parents wanted to have a meeting with him and the
deacons to discuss our concerns. It was not only the fact that all he
talked about was Rick Warren, but my son said that unlike with the
previous youth pastor, this young man was teaching them things that
had nothing to do about the Bible. My son showed me his notes: it was
all man’s wisdom and philosophies that he was espousing. The meeting was
very tense. The youth pastor again accused us of not coming to him in
private first and citing . . . you guessed it: Matthew 18 again! The deacons were all Masons, and they were not sympathetic to our concerns.

Before moving back to Florida, we started up a small
congregation of about 12 families; most of them the parents of the youth
group at the big Baptist church. About this same time, I was reading a
book by a former Mason-turned-Christian that mentioned that a tactic
that the local lodges used was infiltrating the local churches and
reporting back to their lodge on the church’s activities. That really
creeped me out.

Of all the military men in our President’s new administration, General
Flynn knows more about the cunning and ability-to-adapt of the Islamic

The
Bogus Attack Against Flynn

At issue
is whether or not Flynn discussed the lifting of sanctions against Russia
with Sergey Kislyak before Trump’s inauguration. U.S. intelligence
services routinely intercept and monitor diplomats. According to transcripts
of the conversation, they show that General Flynn did discuss sanctions
with the ambassador. What they don’t show is that the General made
any sort of promise to lift the sanctions once Mr. Trump took office.
Rather, they show Flynn making general comments about relations between

Had
the General promised a lifting of sanctions, he would have violated a
law that prohibits private citizens from engaging in foreign policy, the
Logan
Act. Flynn has stated that he really doesn’t remember the entire
conversation, but the transcripts actually show he made no sort of promise,
so reality is, the left is scared to death of Flynn and want him gone.

Personally,
I can’t remember what I said on the telephone yesterday, let alone
weeks or months ago, but the transcripts verify that Flynn did not break
the law. Nevertheless, you have Pelosi tweeting, “Gen. Flynn should
be suspended and have his intelligence clearance revoked.” Of course,
you have Lindsey Graham joining with leftist Sheldon Whitehouse, both
of whom lead the Senate Judiciary Committee’s subpanel on crime
and terrorism, launching an investigation of Russia’s efforts to
influence the U.S. election. Insanity reigns in our Congress.

We need
Flynn, he has amazing intelligence regarding radical Islam, and he is
probably the finest choice in Trump’s administration to carry out
the duties of NSA Chief.

CIA
Hatred of Trump Spills Over

CIA
Director Pompeo, recently rejected a request for an elite security clearance
for Senior Director for Africa, Robin Townley, required for service on
the National Security Council. Townley is a long-time associate of Gen.
Michael Flynn, and a former Marine intelligence officer who had long maintained
a top secret-level security clearance.

Apparently,
Flynn is justifiably angry over this rejection, and this escalates the
friction between Flynn and this agency, one I’ve considered rogue
for many decades. Townley had spent most of his adult life with high level
clearances, so it is difficult to take this as anything but the
war the CIA declared on Trump right after the election. The CIA
actually had granted the same kind of clearance to Obama’s appointee,
Ben
Rhodes, despite Rhodes having been declined the same kind of clearance
by the FBI because of his obsequious attachment to Iran.

Apparently,
Flynn and his allies believe it was motivated by Townley’s skepticism
of the intelligence community’s techniques — sentiments shared
by Flynn, and many knowledgeable Americans.

The
CIA and others in the intelligence community seem threatened by Flynn
and his allies. Why? Because this 33-year Army intelligence veteran knows
more about the dangers facing America than anyone. Marine Robin Townley
doesn’t believe the CIA runs the world, and his closeness to his
boss was probably what made him a target.

The
CIA needs a massive cleanout, but meanwhile, Pompeo apparently believes
his sandbagging of Townley is a small price to pay if it helps him avoid
the Porter Goss treatment.

Flynn’s
Plan to Beat Radical Islam

General
Flynn not only wants to stop Islamic terrorists, but he wants to fight
their radical ideology. He wants to combat it more broadly, using informational
warfare. “We can’t possibly have an effective campaign against
Radical Islamic ideology without the cooperation of the likes of Google,
Facebook and Twitter.

“But
first,” he writes, “the government has to overcome the political
taboo of tying Islamic violence to the religion of Islam, including its
sacred texts, which he says the enemy is using as a manual of warfare.”

“It’s
long past time for us to denounce the many evils of Radical Islam,”
he writes, while highlighting the many defeats of ISIS and al Qaeda to
show potential recruits that “the Almighty has changed sides in
the holy war.”
Advance details of the plan can be gleaned from Flynn’s book. In
it, the Army veteran proposes discrediting the “evil (religious)
doctrines” motivating jihadists — namely the Islamic rewards
for martyrdom (or suicidal terrorism) and the totalitarian tenets of Sharia
law — using psy-ops and counter-propaganda, not just through federal
government channels but also through “our schools, media and social
networks.”

“If
we can’t tackle enemy doctrines that call for our domination or
extinction,” Flynn writes, “we aren’t going to destroy
their jihadis.”

Fired
by former President Barack Obama from the Defense Intelligence Agency
for taking such stands, Flynn vows to reverse the longstanding government
practice of whitewashing the violent nature of the enemy’s faith
through pleasant platitudes like, “The terrorists are hijacking
a religion of peace” and other apologia. He calls such policies
“Islamophilia,” and complains they border on appeasement,
which, in my estimation, they do.

Nazis
and Islamists

Donald
Trump has been compared to Adolf Hitler by the leftists in America, by
political adversaries who disagree with him vehemently and with vitriol.
Professors, political commentators, irate comedians, Hollywood entertainers,
and especially some of the leaders from our black communities have engaged
in the purposeful promotion of this comparison. Their political demonizing
is done for a purpose, but certainly not one that is helpful to America,
and if you’ll notice, it also extends to Trump’s nominees.

Marion
Ingeborg Andrews, (Inge) was born in Dusseldorf, Germany, in 1940
during Hitler’s reign. She is infuriated that people compare President
Trump to Hitler and has said,

“What
is going on in this country is giving me chills. Trump is not like Hitler.
Just because a leader wants order doesn’t mean they’re like a dictator.
What reminds me more of Hitler than anything else isn’t Trump, it’s
the destruction of freedom of speech on the college campuses —
the agendas fueled by the professors. That’s how Hitler started, he
pulled in the youth to mis-educate them, to brainwash them, it’s happening
today.”

“It
saddens me that we are teaching garbage in the schools and in the college.
We don’t teach history anymore. History repeats itself over and over.
The kids out there today haven’t ever lived through a war like I did.
I remember sitting in a rock pile, cleaning rocks, to rebuild Germany.
I remember eating maple leaves and grass to survive.”

General
Flynn’s book echoes Inge’s fears when he states, “Religious
fanatics and secular tyrants work quite well together, transcending even
deep

ideological
divides. The most dramatic example comes from the infamous case of the
grand mufti of Jerusalem in the 1930s and 1940s, Amin al-Husseini, and
his efforts to forge an operational relationship between Nazi Germany
and his own Muslim Brotherhood.” Chuck Morse’s book, The
Nazi Connection to Islamic Terrorism spells it out clearly.

“Like the leaders of other fascist states, the mullahs who have
ruled the Islamic Republic have claimed universal authority in the name
of their doctrine, not of their country. And they say they are prepared
to die—along with their followers—to accomplish their mission.
As Khomeini put it shortly after the occupation of the American embassy
in Tehran in 1979: “We do not worship Iran, we worship Allah…For
patriotism is another name for paganism. I say let this land burn. I say
let this land go up in smoke, provided Islam emerges triumphant in the
rest of the world.” General Flynn – The Field of Fight.

The
General makes this clear on page 103 of his dynamic book when he states,
“Keep your eyes on that word, ‘totalitarian.” That is
the key concept.”

“This
also helps clarify the nature of the global alliance we face. The countries
and movements that are trying to destroy us have worldviews that may seem
to be in violent conflict with one another. But they are united by their
hatred of the democratic West and their conviction that dictatorship is
superior. So, while it may appear that, say, there is little in common
between Communist North Korea, and radical Shi’ite Iran, or between
the leaders of the radical Sunni Islamic State’s ‘caliphate’
and the Iranians, in fact it is no more difficult for them to cooperate
in the war against us than it was for Hitler and the grand mufti to cooperate
in the 1930s and 1940s.”

General
Flynn knows that Iran is the core of terrorism training, and this is another
reason that President Trump has said, “Iran’s nuclear deal
is inconceivable and a disaster for Israel.” [Link]

President has stated many times, “Make America Safe Again.”
Our president knows that some of the refugees and illegal aliens are of
the criminal element, and his job as our President is to keep this sovereign
nation’s people protected.

Conclusion

Trump
and his nominees are real men, not men that have been feminized, and that’s
why they hate real men like Trump, General Flynn, advisor Stephen

Dennis Rodman? The former NBA star and reality TV star gave a special
birthday gift to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. A U.S. congressman calls
it “bizarre and grotesque” and, with North Korea’s repressive
regime in mind, compares it to “inviting Adolf Hitler to lunch.”
And when questioned by Chris Cuomo of CNN, he had this to say, “I
don’t give a rat’s ass what the hell you think.” [Link]

Sean
Penn is another one. In 2008, the actor flew to Cuba to interview Castro.
In what was a seven-hour conversation with Castro, Penn described the
hardliner as having the “agility of a young man” who “exercises
every day, his eyes are bright and his voice is strong.”

“Spielberg
went down there recently to Cuba, and said, ‘The best seven hours
I ever spent was actually with Fidel Castro,’” Duval said, “Now,
what I want to ask him [is],” Duval said of Spielberg, “‘Would
you consider building a little annex on the Holocaust museum, or at least
across the street, to honor the dead Cubans that Castro killed?’
That’s very presumptuous of him to go there.”

Add
to this fawning of the Communist Dictator, these other Hollywood actors,
Jack Nicholson, Ted Turner, Danny Glover, Kevin Costner, Chevy Chase,
and Harry Belafonte. Where is the Logan Act with them? Excuse me, why

Clooney’s visit to Angela Merkel? Muslim migrants have now flooded
into a massive camp next to George Clooney’s $10 million Italian

The
American people must hear the truth about the nature of Islamic doctrine
continually until they are totally aware of its threat to their way of
life and the US Constitution. Sadly, our Churches and other religious
institutions dare not speak up for fear of being accused of intolerance
toward another religion. Our academia, the university teachers and professors,
left or right, dare not, because, most likely, they would be expelled
and lose their income. Our elected officials and politicians dare not
because they are mostly master practitioners of euphemism, hedging, doubletalk,
and outright deception, and they need your votes as well as your money.
Many media contributors and editors dare not because they could lose subscribers
and be shut down. Countless entrepreneurs and businessmen dare not because
they might lose customers and clientele. Even ordinary workers dare not
because they might be fired or called bigots and racists. So, I thought
I would tell you!

America
is faced with a formidable adversary. This adversary has a name: Islam,
not radical Islam or political Islam, just Islam. Muslims don’t
call it radical Islam, why should we? I think it is time to revisit the
First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and see if Islam is qualified
as a religion. Is this an outlandishly absurd proposal? Not at all, serious
problems require equally serious solutions. The call for evaluation of
the First Amendment may be seen as an attempt to curb Islam or other militant
cults. The truth is: it is. It is truly a matter of survival of the United
States and the free world.

It is
long past time to take a stand and shift the debate to orthodox Islam.
There is no need to exhaustingly investigate every other religion on the
planet in order to compare them or offer an opinion about their relative
“goodness” in declaring that on the whole, Islam perpetuates
malevolence and violence. Let others devolve into religious disagreements.
But for the press and some commentators who would further question: “OK
great, so now what? You claim Islam is malevolent. How do we combat that?”
Your response is already clear: Through the spread of truth, not deceit.
Through voluntary social sanctions and laws in every civilized country
that forbid evil practices like Sharia, coercion and violence
against women, threats against those who disagree, honor killings, apostasy
and other hate crimes. Let the world know the truth and decide for itself.
Let Muslims who come to their senses, opt out.

Religion
and Islam

America,
with a long history of protecting religious freedom, still clings to the
“hands off” practice of leaving alone any doctrine or practice
billed as religion. A thorny problem is in deciding what constitutes a
religion and who is to make that call. The dictionary supplies a sociologically
useless definition for religion: “The expression of man’s
belief in and reverence for a superhuman power recognized as the Creator
and Governor of the universe.” Just about anyone or any group under
this definition can start a religion, and indeed they do—and some
do so at significant costs to others.

Muslims,
under the banner of religion, are infringing blatantly on the rights of
others, not only in Islamic countries, but also in much of the non-Muslim
world. By their acts of dogmatic barbarity, Muslims are slowly awakening
non-Muslim democracies to the imminent threat of Islamic terrorism keen
on destroying their free secular and free societies.

As more
and more Muslims arrive in America, as they reproduce with great fertility,
as they convert the disenchanted and minorities, and as petrodollar-flush
Muslims and Muslim treasuries supply generous funds, Muslims gather more
power and become a serious challenge to the American system of governance—representative
democracy. As for democracy, the rule of the people, Muslims have no use
for it whatsoever. Muslims believe that Allah’s rule must govern
the world in the form of a Caliphate. Making a mockery of democracy, subverting
its workings, and ignoring its provisions is a Muslim’s way of falsifying
what he already believes to be a sinful and false system of government,
invented by the infidels.

Quran
5:50 “Do they then seek the legislation of (the Days of) Ignorance?
And who is better in legislating than Allah for a people who have Faith.”

Quran
5:45 “And whoever rules not by what Allah has revealed, those are
the wrongdoers.”

Quran
12:40 “The rule is only for Allah.”

We must
begin to declare Islam evil, not from a sectarian perspective, but from
a universal, humanist one. Every encroachment of Islam as a religion must
be rejected, harassed and discouraged by all people everywhere. Any leftist
attempts to give aid and comfort to this religion of hate must be denounced
and frustrated at every turn.

Christianity

Unlike
some peaceful religions such as Baha’i, Buddhism, Hinduism, Zoroastrianism
and Christianity which advocate universally understood principles of good
within their Holy books, and perhaps other religious doctrines (with which
I am not personally familiar), Islam cannot be reformed. An example, when
the Roman Catholic church was reformed, it was the church that was found
to be in violation of Biblical teachings. It had in many ways become anti-Christian.

Reform
restored orthodoxy to the plain and well-understood concepts revealed
by Christ and the disciples (one of the reasons it took so long was the
church forbade lay-people from reading the bible or translating it from
the obsolete language of Latin…so Europeans were largely ignorant except
for what they were told…see the story of Martin Luther). Some evolutionary
ideas such as the abolition of slavery were not addressed in the Bible
(in part because Christ was after souls not bodies), but the other teachings
such as compassion, forgiveness, non-violence, and brotherly love are
and were always incompatible with slavery. Therefore, it should be no
surprise that eventually Christians in Europe and America led the abolitionist
movement (they were scripturally correct). If a Christian bombs an abortion
clinic, there is no scriptural commandment supporting this. It is unchristian
(however, it is not unchristian to denounce abortion and seek to make
it illegal and thus prevent abortionists from practicing their craft).

It is
sad when the counter-argument to this definition of Christianity is lame
references to Old Testament violence. Old Testament stories are taught
in Christianity as historical fact, not prescriptions based on Christian
ethics. If to a Christian, God is sanctioned a violent act, it is 100%
irrelevant to the New Covenant that is taught by Jesus. So, to say…yeah
but the Bible has violence in it too is insultingly banal, simplistic
and misleading.

If some
Christians abused their doctrine and hid behind the Cross to justify their
personal desire to kill, enslave, and conquer, then they are and always
were sinners and they are wrong; and this is why Christianity has taken
the natural form it has today…as a religion of peace and compassion
(even if many supposed Christians continue to sin). This is not to say
that Christians are unable to defend themselves, or intervene to stop
injustice. Christians are taught to hate the sin and love the sinner…period!
The decision to become aggressive is always a burden on the Christian
conscience.

In comparison,
Islam does not tolerate revisionism in its beliefs or practices over time.
Reform is not at play, because one cannot point to Jihadists or terrorists
and say Muhammad did not advocate it. He most certainly did, and delighted
in his evil thoughts. Islam is a literal religion, taking unabrogated
scripture as eternal and absolute. Moreover, there are no calls in Islam
for compassion, forgiveness, non-violence, and brotherly love. Instead
there are specific prescriptions to retain evil with evil, eternal warfare,
religious hegemony, slavery, killing Jews, taxing nonbelievers, stoning,
promulgating terror, establishing a caste social system, and perpetuating
discrimination against women. The only way to reform Islam is to discard
Sharia, but also to purge the Quran itself of its enormous Suras that
are not only patently false, but totally repugnant to a civilized humanity.
This line of thinking, to sanitize Islam is explicitly forbidden in the
Quran:

Quran
2:85: “Do you, then, believe in some parts of the divine writ and
deny the truth of other parts? What, then, could be the reward of those
among you who do such things but ignominy in the life of this world and,
on the Day of Resurrection; they will be consigned to most grievous suffering?
For God is not unmindful of what you do.”

Radical
Islam

There
is no such thing as “radical Islam.” I have refused to accept
several organizations that seek to combat or expose the antics of “radical”
or “extreme” Islam, because I know that it is not extremism
that is causing the violence…it’s mainstream, typical, normal,
traditional, specified, canonical Islam.

There
are those who with a wink and a nod understand this but continue to work
as revisionists because they are afraid of starting a religious war, even
as they feel compelled to do something. They tell me, “You can’t
openly accuse an entire religion of being evil! That would just incite
them and make them hate us even more.” My response: the war started
in the 7th century, and if in the 21st century we still refuse to accept
that reality, then there is perhaps no hope at all for civilization. Nothing
good can come from self-deception.

I argue
that any belief system that licenses murder in the name of Jihad and the
conquering and subduing of the world of the infidels by the Umma,
should be outlawed. The prophet Mohammad brewed up a militant, radical
and extremely irrational imperialistic cult that sought world dominance.
My fellow travelers, let us make one thing clear; Islam is no more a religion
deserving our respect or legal recognition than is cannibalism.

And
those who take a “liberal” view of Islam should be forced
to back up their nouveau interpretation with unabrogated scriptural
facts. Unless such “reformists” can denounce fascist Islam
with scripture, they are the true radicals, which is why we never see
them pointing to scriptural arguments against jihad…they cannot because
they are lying. Islamic terrorists are doing exactly what the prophet
Muhammad demanded. And his demands were not suggestions and were not ephemeral.
They were “perfect,” eternal ultimata. Islamic terrorists
are faithful and true to what is written in the book of Quran.

Islam
Enablers

A consortium
composed of pandering politicians, left and right, blinded by short-term
self-interest and egotism, attention and fund-seeking self-proclaimed
prima donna professors; and, bastions of useful idiots, are the
witting or unwitting promoters of Umma-ism.

Recall
how many times former President George W. Bush praised Islam? Recall President
George Bush’s love affairs with the Shaikh Abdullah of Saudi Arabia?

Didn’t
President Obama go around the Muslim heartland and sing the praises of
Islam at every stop? Didn’t he bow with great deference to the King
of Islam in Saudi Arabia? Didn’t he proudly proclaim Islam as the
faith of his near and dear kindred? Didn’t he, time and again, tell
us that Islam is indeed the religion of peace? Didn’t he with his
captivating oratory skills cite passages from the Quran to show how reverent
he was toward this religion? Didn’t he appoint a raft of “devoted”
Muslims to sensitive and high posts in government? Didn’t the Obama
administration pull back all training materials used for law enforcement
and national security communities, in order to eliminate all references
to Islam that some Muslim groups have claimed are offensive?

Here

faith. But ours is a war against individuals who absolutely hate what

It is
long past time for Americans to call upon the lawmakers of the United
States of America to immediately create a safety board and commissioner
to study and examine the dangers of Islamic doctrine in our society. Islam
today is dysfunctional, to say the least. As a matter of fact, Islam went
astray from the very beginning and inflicted a great deal of suffering
on both its followers and those who resisted its advance.

In the
monumental task of dealing with Islam, every individual, group and government
must combine their resources and energies to prevail. The destiny of the
civilized world hangs in the balance. Shirking this responsibility is
an unpardonable act of every enlightened human being and organization
that values individual freedom, liberty and dignity.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Do you wonder why Roger Stone, the author of several bestselling books, including the current Making of the President 2016: How Donald Trump Orchestrated a Revolution, has been blocked from TV appearances, even at Fox News?
The
reason could well be that David Brock, the father of “Fake News,”
targeted Roger Stone to block his media appearances in a censorship
campaign organized and executed by his mother-ship company Media Matters
and its paid troll minions.
In a briefing book that Brock, the
father of “Fake News,” never intended to make public, Brock explains how
he used Media Matters to implement in conjunction with co-conspiracy
with Google and Facebook a strategy designed to keep conservative and
libertarian websites, including Infowars.com, from getting press
credentials in Washington, D.C.
In a special section of the
briefing book highlighted with a blue background, white type and a
yellow type bold headline, Brock explains how he “pushed Roger Stone’s
bigotry” off cable news.

“Media Matters succeeded in pressuring CNN, MSNBC, and even Fox News
to stop booking Roger Stone, a regular guest and longtime Trump ally,”
Brock wrote. “Stone has a decades-long history of employing political
dirty tricks and regularly spouting violent, racist, and sexist
rhetoric, and used his various platforms during the 2016 campaign to
advance fringe conspiracy theories and promote fake news.”
Brock’s attack on Roger Stone continued.

“In late 2015 and early 2016, we aggressively educated network
producers (who had been providing Stone an uncritical platform) about
Stone’s background,” Brock added. “In response to our pressure, CNN and
MSNBC confirmed that Stone will no longer appear on their airwaves
because of his bigotry, and Stone himself reported that he had been
blacklisted by Fox News.”
The briefing book
entitled “Media Matters, The Top Watchdog Against Fake News and
Propaganda: Transforming the Media Landscape” (published by Brock
confidentially for potential donors but obtained and published by the Free Beacon),
gave Brock a platform to brag about his ability to keep from getting
press credentials any news media organization “accountable for even the
slightest normalization of Trump.”
“When Breitbart applied for
Permanent Senate Gallery Press Credentials, Media Matters was quick to
act by advising the credentialing committee of the myriad ways that
Breitbart violated their requirements,” Brock boasts. “Additionally,
Media Matters did something that the committee was unable to do: A deep
dive study of Breitbart content, reviewing thousands of their stories to
demonstrate that they do not meet the credentialing requirement for
original reporting.”
Throughout the document, Brock repeatedly
explains the role he expects co-conspirators Google and Facebook to play
when he targets conservative and/or libertarian media analysts and news
organization he opposes ideologically, imploring Google and Facebook to
silence “toxic alt-right” social support for reporting generated by a
media group Brock has targeted for extinction, like Breitbart as noted
above.
Brock’s hatred of Breitbart’s former chief executive is
apparent when Brock writes in the confidential briefing book that
Breitbart “has received millions in funding from extremist billionaires
close to the Trump administration” providing “a nexus point for the

“With a powerful ally
in thee White House (former chief executive Steve Bannon will be
Trump’s chief strategist), Breitbart plans to export its brand of
anti-establishment racism on a grand scale,” Brock continues.
In
another special section of the briefing book blocked off with a blue
background and white type, Brock crows about stopping Donald Trump
during the campaign from phoning in interviews to news organizations.
“Media
Matters was the first to call out national cable broadcast networks for
allowing Trump to phone in their shows instead of forcing him to appear
via satellite or in studio,” Brock bragged. “Because of this
unprecedented privilege, Trump could appear on more shows (he conducted
69 phone interviews in the first 69 days of 2016 alone), and he could
avoid being confronted by images and interviewers showing his lies for
what they are.”
Brock insists the intervention of Media Matters
was responsible for Trump losing this privilege with mainstream media
entities he named.
“As a result of our campaign urging major
networks to correct course, CBS News and NBC news publicly stated they’d
discontinue Trump’s phone privileges,” he explained. “Eventually
others followed suit and Trump’s ability to control the news cycle from
the comfort of his home was greatly reduced.”
After bragging about
stifling Trump’s ability to give telephone interviews to television
news groups like CBS and NBC news, Brock marked the section “Private
& Confidential.”
Brock makes clear in the briefing book that
Media Matters techniques include bullying news organizations into
black-balling conservative and libertarian talk-show hosts Brock opposes
ideologically.
In introducing Angelo Carusone, the president of
Media Matters, Brock boasts that in 2009, Carusone as a law student
founded the “Stop Beck” movement that “organized participants via social
media to successfully convince sponsors to cease advertising on [Glenn]
Beck’s show.”
Brock ends his briefing book with a boldly stated threat.
“Toxic
alt-right social media-fueled harassment campaigns that silence dissent
and poison our national discourse will be punished and halted,” he
proclaimed. “Hundreds of activists will join our campaigns to push back
on alt-right harassment.”

Democrat presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was cut off Friday night
during an interview with CNN’s Erin Burnett immediately after he
jokingly called the network “fake news.”
The awkward
moment happened Friday when Burnett played a clip of President Donald
Trump denying knowledge of National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s
alleged talks with a Russian ambassador.
“Well I don’t know. Maybe
he [Trump] was watching CNN fake news,” Bernie jests attempting to mock
Trump, before asking, “What do you think?”
“It was a joke!” the
senator explains to a somewhat bewildered Burnett, but it was too late –
the senator was cut off and he stopped receiving audio to his earpiece.

“Erin? Are we on?” Bernie asks.
“It looks like we’ve lost… connection with Senator Sanders,” Burnett attempts to recover.
The interview continued on the other side of a commercial break, but the flub was deleted from CNN’s “entire interview” upload.
In the past few weeks, the network has strongly objected to the term “fake news.”
Just
the other day CNN anchor Chris Cuomo equated the term, invented by the
left, to a racial denigration on par with the N-word.

But it seems President Donald Trump’s continual mocking of the “fake
news” outlet has worn them down to the point they can’t take a joke.

COOK COUNTY, IL (WCMH) — A national sex trafficking sting ended in the arrests of 552 would-be sex buyers or sex traffickers.

The National Johns Suppression Initiative began three weeks ago,
ending on Super Bowl Sunday. 23 law enforcement agencies in 14 states
took part in the crackdown.

“Sex trafficking continues to destroy countless lives, and this broad
national movement should send a strong message to prospective johns
that their ‘hobby’ is much more than a ‘victimless’ crime,” said Cook
County, Illinois Sheriff Thomas J. Dart in a news release.
“It’s particularly meaningful that this sting culminated on the day of
the Super Bowl, which unfortunately has emerged as a prominent haven for
sex trafficking.”

In addition to the arrests, police rescued 73 adult victims from human trafficking and 3 juvenile victims.

In the Houston area alone, where this year’s Super Bowl took place,
law enforcement arrested 183 “johns” and 9 sex traffickers. Among those
arrested was a Houston city employee who pulled up in a city vehicle,
two firefighters, a retired police officer and a man who had his
4-year-old child in the car when he tried to buy sex.

“I’m exceedingly proud to lead the nation in targeting sex buyers and
traffickers during this annual initiative,” Harris County Sheriff Ed
Gonzalez said during a news conference.
“Houston was home to Super Bowl LI. As we welcomed the world to our
city, we made it clear that there is no place for victimization and
sexual exploitation.”

In Seattle, police arrested a john who recently escaped from jail.
They also arrested a registered sex offender who tried to convince the
undercover detective into working as a prostitute for him.

The participating agencies across the nation have arrested more than
6,500 sex buyers and traffickers since the operations began back in
2011.

Pro-life Americans nationwide took to the streets on
Saturday to call on Congress to defund the abortion and contraception
giant Planned Parenthood.

Demonstrations took place in a reported 45 states and at
over 200 Planned Parenthood locations, from California to Alabama, to
New York and Florida, with some gatherings drawing dozens and others
drawing hundreds.

In Albuquerque, New Mexico, an estimated 300 residents
participated in the event, 200 joined the protest in Fort Wayne,
Indiana, and in Peoria, Illinois approximately 70 people took to the
streets to speak out against the abortion giant.

The event was organized by three pro-life entities: Citizens
for a Pro-Life Society, Created Equal and the Pro-Life Action League.

“As long as they are going stay in the abortion business,
that is an organization that shouldn’t be getting one red cent of
federal tax money,” Monica Miller, director of Citizens for a Pro-Life
Society, told Reuters.

Participants gathered at their local Planned Parenthood and
held signs expressing their opposition to taxpayer money being
distributed to the controversial organization, such as “Defund Planned
Parenthood,” “Stop abortion now” and “Abortion is not health care.”

“Why should tax dollars be given to somewhere where they’re
doing killings of babies?” participant Marisol Pfaff of Missouri told
NPR.

“They do not have mammograms. They do not provide prenatal
care. They do not provide pediatric care, so it is not comprehensive
health care for women,” participant Delia Laux of Virginia also told
reporters. “Planned Parenthood will say, ‘We’re not using that money for
abortion. We’re using it for other services.’ The fact is money is
refundable.”

As previously reported,
according to Planned Parenthood’s annual report, during the 2014-2015
fiscal year, the organization received $553 million in taxpayer
funding/grants in 2014, up from $528 million the year prior, which
equated to 43 percent of its total income. $48 million of Planned
Parenthood’s income was used for sex education, and $39 million was used
for public policy, or to influence legislation, up from $33 million in
2013. Despite its expenditures, it still garnered a $61 million dollar
profit.

It aborted 323,999 babies nationwide during that fiscal
year, equating to approximately one-third of the more than 900,000
annual abortions in America.

Those who support Planned Parenthood staged counter-protests
at more than 100 of the 225 demonstration locations on Saturday,
holding signs such as “Women are more than wombs,” “Free abortion on
demand” and “I Stand with Planned Parenthood.” Some engaged in chants
about “body autonomy” and “women must decide their fate.”

“A fetus is not a baby, abortion is not murder, women are
not incubators!” California counter-protester Maya Malika proclaimed,
according to the San Francisco gate.

“If you ever, ever, ever really cared about people, you
would not want to have someone be murdered,” pro-lifer Arline Miyazaki
called out to the those who came to defend the organization. “I’ll pray
for you.”

As previously reported, Sens. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, and James Lankford, R-Okla., recently introduced the “Protect Funding for Women’s Health Care Act,” which
would redirect the more than $500 million in federal funding from
Planned Parenthood to women’s health care providers that do not perform
abortions.

The Act notes that community health centers, local health
departments, physicians’ offices and others provide a variety of women’s
services and pregnancy care—minus the killing. Reports state that there
are over 13,500 community health centers alone that assist with women’s
health.

 Notable former pastor and founder of Newspring church in Anderson, SC

gave his tacit approval of alcohol consumption in 2013. Three years later,

he was fired by his church for “falling into sin” with alcoholism. The elders of his
 church made the decision to terminate him from the pastorate. Less than
 two months later, after a 30-day alcohol rehab program, he claimed to 
be cured of his disease and vowed to return to ministry.

I spent 30 days in a treatment facility in Arizona from
mid-July until mid-August. Being in that place allowed me to come face
to face with issues from my past as well as my current struggle, and
placed me in a place to successfully overcome my over medication via
alcohol.

Now, I’m not sure if what he said after that is a result of his years
of intoxication, or if he’s simply playing some kind of mind game, but
he went on to say,

I can honestly say I am excited about the future God has for me and my family. The one thing I keep hearing from Him over and over again is that He is not finished with me.

Shortly after this, he started a new business.
“Churches are businesses,” he says, and offers a consulting service to
help churches gain tithing customers and increased revenue. This was his
strong point in his years of ministry. His experience of managing 425
employees with a 63 million dollar budget is his selling point.
Certainly not exegeting the Scriptures, shepherding a flock, setting an
example as a pastor being above reproach. No, it’s just a business.
Well, after all of this, it appears his preaching career is making a
comeback after all, and he’s holding true to his promise of returning to
ministry. In typical disgraced pastor fashion, he makes his triumphant
re-entry into ministry on the stage of a heretic.
Last night on Facebook he posts the following:

In July of 2016 I thought I would never preach again!
I allowed myself to be deceived by the enemy and depended on alcohol more than Jesus!
However…during this entire time Steven Furtick hasn’t been someone
who “had my back” but rather has stood by my side and been a source of
encouragement, friendship and has been willing to tell me what I needed
to hear.
Last night he allowed me the honor of returning to preaching on the
stage at Elevation – and what I thought was dead came to life again. In
life the “who” that stands with you really does matter – and I am more
thankful for Steven and Holly than they could ever imagine…and I’m
looking so forward to being there again today.
Jesus brings dead things back to life – if you are doubting or
disbelieving I understand – I’ve been there; however, if you are bit
dead then God is not done – His plans for you are still greater than you
could have ever imagined!

Not that Perry was ever in the camp of sound biblical expositors–he
wasn’t. He was as false of a teacher as they get. But he wasn’t a Word
of Faith heretic. He was merely a seeker-sensitive preacher and a poor
exegete that gained a large following by applying his business skills

 This camp is always talking about seeing a “new thing,” or some kind 
of “shift” in the movement of the Holy Spirit. Recently, New Apostolic 
Reformation (NAR) prophetess, Jennifer Eivaz wrote about a vision she 
had from an Angel by the name “209.” In the NAR world, angels are given 
numbers based on various aspects of their characteristics.

While my interns were prophesying during their training
class, I saw in the spiritual realm an angel named 209. The angel was a
little larger than a normal sized man. He was all white, including his
robe, and radiated with glory. His wings were fluttering rapidly as if
he was ready to go and do something glorious. I knew exactly why he had
come. This angel was a territorial angel assigned to the 209 region (209
is an area code) here in Central California.

As though God assigns angels to “territories” based on man-made telephone borders, I decided to look up this “Angel 209” and found the following:

Number 209 is a compilation of the energies of number 2,
the influences of number 0 and the vibrations of number 9. Number 2 adds
its energies of diplomacy and co-operation, consideration for others,
finding balance and harmony, duality, devotion and selflessness, faith
and trust and your life purpose and soul mission. Number 0 represents
the beginning of a spiritual journey and stands for potential and/or
choice, developing spiritual aspects, eternity and infinity, oneness and
wholeness, continuing cycles and flow, and the beginning point. Number 0
powerfully amplifies the energies of the numbers it appears with.
Number 9 resonates with leading by positive example, Lightworkers and
Lightworking, philanthropy and humanitarianism, problem solving,
generosity and benevolence, the Universal Spiritual Laws, Karma and the
Spiritual Law of Karma. Number 9 also relates to endings and
conclusions.

Now, if this sounds “new-agey,” it’s because it is. False prophets
and false teachers don’t rely on the Word of God to guide them to
completeness and equip them for every good work (2 Tim 3:16-17).
No, they receive extra-biblical revelations from sources not spoken of
in Scripture. They mix false religions with what appears to be true
Christianity giving themselves a form of godliness but denying its power
(2 Tim 3:5).

Jennifer Eivaz is no exception. She blatantly denies the sufficiency
of Scripture and has made a laundry list of spurious allegations against
the Holy Spirit she claims she received in this vision where she
supposedly saw this “Angel 209.” According to her recent blog post, she sees a major shift in the United States.

I was impressed by the Holy Spirit to write, “You have
deeply prayed for righteousness. You have vehemently prayed down
lawlessness. You are seeing the fruit of your prayers. Boundaries and
borders are being established in the nation as lawlessness is being
firmly challenged. Still, America will not lose her compassion. She is
still a melting pot, but I am remolding this melting pot to prevent a

In this vision, she saw what she calls “black lids” covering large
areas of the nation including entire cities. These lids, she writes,
were “in place to cover, silence, and muffle the gospel from being
preached in America. They were rules, regulations, court orders, and
penalties, etc.” She then supposedly sees these lids of “unreasonable
fees, penalties, fines, inflated pricing, excess charges, etc.” being
lifted in the coming days. She says it’s these “lids” that have
discouraged the church and “righteous people” from doing the work of
ministry in America.

Scripture, on the other hand, says that much of the church is worldly
and apathetic to the things of God–and this is why they don’t do the
work of ministry (Revelation 3:16).
The world has always been hostile to the gospel, yet this has never
hindered God’s purposes from being carried out. It is not government
fees and regulations that have hindered the gospel from being preached
in America. This is a ridiculous and exaggerated claim.

She continues, however, claiming that God “gave her a word that the
droughts were over” in California. The rains “came almost immediately”
after this, she says “the rains came pouring, and then flooding, into
the area the very next week.” Of course, the local television station
can also somewhat accurately predict rain a week in advance, so I’m not
really impressed with this so-called prophetic vision. Further, in
Scripture, floods are actually a sign of God’s wrath against an evil
society. However, she goes on to make a number of prophecies concerning
the state of California based off this vision. But the next thing she
says is what is really interesting. “I’ve seen blueprints from heaven
slowly descending upon the state. They are blueprints to change this
blue state to red,” she writes.

There is a challenge to corruption coming to California.
There is a scrutiny and a shaking coming our way. I’ve watched these
blueprints come down and then float back up, and then sometimes they
hover over the land right in mid-air. These blueprints are in the
balance as of now, but I heard it was a new breed of “red.”

The says that because the will of the people of California has been
overruled by the “powers of darkness” in California twice regarding
“traditional marriage,” that the people of California have planted a
“double seed” of righteousness and will “reap double for their trouble.”
How ridiculous! The people of California got exactly what they ask for.
The people of California have continued to vote in godless legislators
who pass unrighteous laws. The people of California have not willed
righteousness for their state and the people of California, as with the
rest of the nation, are under the judgment of God for their wicked
deeds.

But I digress. “I’m hearing the distinct sound of Jehu throughout the
state. It’s coming from the men! There is a new man uprising,” she
writes.

Concerning this new-age entity she refers to as “Angel 209,” she says the following:

In the recent past, there had even been a powerful
revival known as the “209 awakening.” This angel had come to wake up and
stir up the 209 area once again. Those in the 209 will continue to grow
in their core strengths of intercession, deliverance, worship, and
holiness. There will be more signs and wonders! Even more miracles and
salvations! To the 209, “You are powerful discerners and hate
compromise. You remain a challenger and contender to the occult powers.
You must now press in for business development like never before and
take your seats of authority in the state. You must firmly challenge and
overcome forces of poverty and get a stronger, more governmental
mindset.”

It’s rather peculiar that she would say “you remain a challenger and
contender to the occult powers.” Considering that the occult is exactly
what she is defiling herself with familiar spirits (Leviticus 19:31).
What Jennifer Eivaz is practicing epitomizes the occult. She seeks to
contact the spirit realm for knowledge not revealed to us in the Word of
God. The Scriptures say to pay no attention to these people, for doing
so will turn God’s wrath against you (Leviticus 20:6).
She is no different than the fortune teller in the shack down the
street, except that she blasphemes the Holy Spirit with her spurious
claims.

Of course, no false prophecy is complete without a prophetic vision of superficial “unity.” She goes on to write,

You will experience a new round of unity. There are new
sounds, new breeds, and different revival voices emerging from each of
these areas. Competition and striving is being set aside, while unity is
being made alive. One new man, one new church, and a beautiful harmony
up and down the state. There is a new sword coming to the word being
preached. There is a shout down of compromise. There is a violent prayer
rumble for holiness and revival.

This, however, is diametrically opposed to the Scriptures. There is
no such promise of a “new church,” or a “new man” anywhere in the Word
of God. The Church was founded on the Apostles and Prophets with Jesus
Christ himself as the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20). “For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ,” says 1 Corinthians 3:11.
Christ founded His Church and that Church is not “new.” For in order to
build a new Church, a new foundation would have to be laid.

of Bethel Church

destruction of a believer will ever satisfy our adversary. Satan would
rend the believer in pieces, break his bones, and utterly destroy him if
he could. Do not, therefore, indulge the thought that the main purpose
of Satan is to make you miserable. Satan is pleased with that, but that
is not his ultimate end. Sometimes he may even make you happy, for he
has dainty poisons sweet to the taste that he administers to God’s
people. If he feels that our destruction can be more readily achieved by
sweets than by bitters, he certainly would prefer that which would best
effect his end.” C.H. Spurgeon

Most believers who “abide in my word” (John 8:31) know that Bethel Church
is a hotbed of charlatanry. It hurls a false gospel with a false
messiah through its multitude of on-staff false teachers and those
charlatans invited to the Bethel stage to ever keep its undiscerning
members swimming with hyped-up, ecstatic misdirection. (When a “church” hosts perhaps the grand poobah of false teaching infamy, the grand huckster of healing Benny Hinn, their claim to being a legitimate church is as equally invalid as their claim to be “Christian.”)
So busy are they reveling in the supposed supernatural that legitimate
study of Scripture, in order to come to ‘knowledge and all discernment”
and be “able to approve what is excellent,” (Philippians 1:9-10) is intentionally precluded by staged theatrics.

Obviously, it’s an easy enough chore to build a “church” when
emotions management and manipulation are the underlying impetus, rather
than Gospel understanding and “rightly handling the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)
It’s easy to whip up a crowd into an ecstatic frenzy, but much harder
to do the diligent work of teaching the Word. What’s temporally sexy
and easy to sell is manifestly more valuable than what is edifying and
eternally significant.

“Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?” 1 Corinthians 5:6

While the church in Corinth had numerous issues that required at
least three letters of stern rebuke, explanatory guidance, and apostolic
encouragement from Paul (two of these three epistles are in the N.T.),
one could only guess at the gallons of ink the apostle would consume in
addressing the Scripturally-offensive teachings and practices of
Bethel. But perhaps Paul might’ve penned a much pithier epistle were he
writing to Bethel. Though it’s a different “Bethel,” one could imagine
a Pauline missive today that would not be unlike the “Thus saith the
Lord” warning of Amos.

“For thus says the LORD to the house of Israel:

“Seek me and live;
but do not seek Bethel” Amos 5:4-5

A Bible-imbibing believer must always be Berean – in all things.
Though unfortunate for those Gospel-void souls trapped in the voo-doo
“Christianity” of Bethel, authentic believers can look at it as a source
of what not to do, what not to believe, and what to avoid in the
Christian life and in a legitimate Christian “church.” Bethel is what
you do not want to emulate. Bethel is not what you want to seek.

One of the most saddening things hurled out of Bethel is a vigorous
“ministry” geared towards children. The effort is couched sufficiently
in Christianese and slathered with enough of a “Jesus loves the little
children” veneer that makes the endeavors seem noble, authentic, and
upright. But the depth of false teaching behind the shiny, welcoming
veneer is toxic to the true Christian faith and reveals an effort to
indoctrinate children into the bootleg Bethel brand of unbiblical
supernatural religion. As the apostle said, in a non-plussed sort of
remark about the false teachers of Corinth, “And no wonder, for even
Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” (2 Corinthians 11:14) Paul would not be surprised to find the enemy at work in the church today, and perhaps no place more than Bethel.

One of the mechanisms of Bethel’s “ministry” to children is in the
K-8 private school it operates. Bethel Christian School publishes its
monthly “Bethel Buzz” newsletter. An excerpt from February 2017’s issue
reflects something of the intentionally supernatural flavor of the
school:

“Ms. Brown had Eden open her arms in a
wide circle, prophetically declaring that she was ready to receive the
abundance of heaven. Meanwhile classmates held their hands in front of
them, palms together, their top hand flicking their bottom to symbolize
all the resources coming her way. During this brief time of prophetic
prayer, one student felt led to take some coins from his backpack and to
drop them through Eden’s circled arms.” (Source)

From Bethel’s online bookstore, under the “Children/Youth” category,
you’ll find a wide array of false charismaniacal teaching targeting
children. Of the over 150 children’s titles for sale, you’ll find the
book by “Mama G.” entitled God’s Li’l People and Miracles. There’s “prophet” Shawn Bolz’ book, Growing Up With God: Everyday Adventures Of Hearing God’s Voice,
in which kids are introduced to “automatic writing” by listening to the
presumed voice of God in their heads and then writing down the words.
(Go HERE for more on this atrocity.) And then there are the My Super Powers book series by Dan McCollam.

McCollam is, according to the author bio from Amazon, a “prophetic speaker and trainer” and “serves on the the teaching faculty of Bethel School of the Prophets.” (This,
of course, begs the question – why does one need to be “trained” to use
a spiritual “gift” given by the Holy Spirit? The apostles didn’t
establish a training school for spiritual gifts. Paul didn’t graduate
from one, teach at one, or mention one. Have the Holy Spirit’s imbuing
powers waned since the first century such that now we need Bethel to
teach what the Holy Spirit no longer can? Absurd. It is charlatanry for
profit. See 2 Peter 2:1-3)

But McCollam has, in the My Super Powers
children books, answered an obvious question that parents who expose
their children to the doctrinal toxins and illicit spiritual behaviors
of Bethel must face: How do we explain this to the kids?

What do you tell your child about your ecstatic, abnormal, and
irreverent behavior during “worship?” How do you answer your child who
asks about your drunken-like unintelligible speech? How do you respond
to a youngster who has perhaps seen their older teenage sibling writhing
on the floor in a mosh pit of presumed mindless worship? What
explanation is there if you have your child wait outside a Bethel “healing room” while you go in to get a cavity filled by a healer? (There have, btw, been claims of people receiving gold fillings as a result of Bethel’s supernatural dental work.)

The answer McCollam’s series reveals is that you simply teach your
children to mimic the same illicit, irreverent behavior that you’re
exhibiting. His My Super Powers series does just that. The books include the following “Dear Parent” introduction:

“My Super Powers is a series of children’s books based on the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit mentioned in First Corinthians 12:8-9. I believe that children can and should be activated in the gifts of the Spirit at an early age.”

Of course McCollam and Bethel believe in “early age activation.”
It’s necessary for the continued growth of the “church” by continuing
the deception to the next generation. But “activation” is not a Biblical
endeavor for a believer of any age.

Given Spurgeon’s assessment, Satan’s nefarious ambition is not always
to make you miserable, but to sometimes make you happy. Thus, Bethel’s
comic book appeal to children serves as a formidable tool of deception.
The child reared on My Super Powers
fodder will likely have no capacity for discernment when, as a teen,
the opportunity to roll around “drunk in the Spirit” at a Bethel
“worship” service comes around. They’ll likely find “Bethel fire tunnels”
a legitimate extension of super powers they’ve been taught since they
were a toddler. From that, it’s just a leap and a jump to “grave sucking” with the grown-ups.

The series has apparently been so domestically popular that it has
been released in a three-volume set called the “Global Edition,” with
each book containing three of the nine “super powers.” They sell for
about $16 on Amazon.

The description from one of the books gives a flavor of how the
volume is written to appeal to children. For volume 8, the gift of
tongues, the summary says:

“Marco and Mia think their television is broken until Mom
explains that it’s just on a foreign language channel. Hearing unknown
languages makes the children wish they could speak in another
language. That’s when Mom uses stories from her special Book to help
them discover God’s amazing gift of speaking in unknown tongues.”

The problem is here is obvious. While little Marco and Mia may be told that Scripture – denoted as “Mom’s special Book”-(implying, it seems, that children might not possess, need, or should be able to read their own copy)
describes “tongues” as actual foreign languages, the evidence they
might see in Mom’s behavior at Bethel is decidedly different. What’s
likely “all Greek to me” for the kids is equally “all Greek” to the rest
of us because ecstatic gibberish is not a language, and it is ecstatic
gibberish that is predominately profiled throughout charismania.

Before I knew it, tongues was rolling out of my mouth
like water. It was such a beautiful experience, and it elevated my
connection to God. I could easily pray for others by speaking in
tongues, and even though I didn’t know what I was saying, I could see
with my spirit that it was affecting great change on their behalf in the
spirit realm! I also have the gift of discerning spirits, so I can
sense demons and angels. Even the demons respond to speaking in tongues!
I most often pray for others in tongues, but it is so nice to have a
special language to speak to God with, when I just don’t know what words
to use. (Source)

Disregarding the staggering heterodoxic problems within this quote,
it makes clear that the “experience” of tongues in the modern church is
explicitly not the tongues of Scripture. Yet, as is evidenced by this
randomly googled citation, it is the emotional benefit that fuzzy-wuzzy
linguistics offer that is the implicit appeal of the practice. Actual
understanding of God’s Word and rational comprehension of authentic,
Biblically-informed spiritual behavior are, if even present, distant
concerns.

Shakespeare’s line from Othello has been lost at Bethel and by most
participants in charismania. By putting the false doctrines “in their
mouths” and the mouths of their children, rational apprehension of God’s
Truth, and obedient behavior in response to that Truth, has been
abandoned. A thief has been introduced. Their brains have been stolen.
And their behavior is the evidence.

Bethel is comfortable indoctrinating their children in their toxic
teaching of supernatural “super powers,” but doing so is not Christian
and not Biblical. From way, way back in the Pentateuch, the Lord made
clear to His people that knowing and understanding His Word was
paramount for an obedient life of faithfulness, and that it was His Word
that was to be taught – diligently taught – to the children.

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You
shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul
and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall
be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and
shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the
way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. Deuteronomy 6:4-7

The Word of the Lord heard by Israel from its inception, and the Word
we hear today from His Scripture, are not ecstatic, unintelligible,
feel-good, fuzzy-wuzzies. It is antithetical that God would “reveal”
Himself by unintelligible utterances. Why then should our apprehension
of Him be reflected in behavior marked by mindless gibberish? He spoke
so that we might understand, and understanding so that we might obey,
and in obeying we might know Him.

For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6

Presumed spiritual super powers are illicit but deceptively
attractive. And by teaching children to pursue and revel in unbiblical
“Super Powers” maneuvers, it’s clear Bethel cares little about doing as
the apostle proclaimed:

But far be it from me to boast except
in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been
crucified to me, and I to the world. Galatians 6:14

Indeed, for those trapped in the beguilement of Bethel – and their
children – they could easily be hearkening to the words of Amos, “Come to Bethel, and transgress.” (Amos 4:4).
As Matthew Henry commented about the idolatrous Israelites of Amos’
day, so too does his commentary apply when considering the modern Bethel
Church:

“What is got by extortion is commonly used to provide for
the flesh, and to fulfill the lusts thereof. What is got by oppression
cannot be enjoyed with satisfaction. How miserable are those whose
confidence in unscriptural observances only prove that they believe a
lie! Let us see to it that our faith, hope, and worship, are warranted
by the Divine word.” Matthew Henry
