Oops! Governor Murphy Forgets To Exempt Veterans From Magazine Ban!
Pandering “Mistake” Exempts Retired Police, But Not Retired Military. Equal Protection Violation May Bring Down Ban. No One Should Receive Special Treatment Under the Law.

New Jersey Governor Phil MurphyNJ Governor Murphy Throws Veterans Under the Bus, Just in Time for July 4th

New Jersey – -(Ammoland.com)- As they clamored to ban standard capacity firearms magazines and turn one million law-abiding citizens into criminals with the stroke of a pen, NJ Governor Phil Murphy and legislators silenced objections from law enforcement by exempting retired police from the ban. But they made a “mistake” in their pandering strategy that could prove fatal to the new law – they failed to also exempt military veterans from the 10-round limit.
Their pandering blunder reveals a serious violation of equal protection under the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution: an arbitrary privilege afforded to one group cannot be denied to others who are similarly situated. Retired police and military veterans both have civilian status – the same status as every one of New Jersey’s one million gun owners.

Exempting retired police over veterans, and also over the entire civilian population itself, violates equal protection.

“Lawmakers thought they were pre-empting a groundswell of law enforcement opposition to the magazine ban by exempting retired police,” said Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs Executive Director Scott Bach. “Instead, they created a vulnerability that threatens the very existence of their precious new law, and Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs is making the most of that vulnerability.”
Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs’s pending lawsuit to overturn the magazine ban highlights this equal protection violation, along with other constitutional infirmities of the law. In a recent request for a preliminary injunction halting implementation of the ban, ANJRPC quotes the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which found in a similar case (Silveira v. Lockyer) that a “retired officers exception arbitrarily and unreasonably affords a privilege to one group of individuals that is denied to others.” A ruling on the request could come as soon as this month.
“Military veterans, like the rest of the civilian population in New Jersey, have now been relegated to second-class status and placed at a significant disadvantage when it comes to defending their lives against criminals and gangs – who ironically will ignore the ban and be armed to the teeth,” said Bach.
The fact of the matter is that no one should receive special treatment under the law. Those sworn to serve and protect, whether in law enforcement or the military, should refuse to be silenced by pandering politicians when it comes to infringement of everyone else’s constitutional rights.
As our hypocritical lawmakers continue to enjoy the protection of armed security details exempt from the magazine ban, Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs would like to take this opportunity to wish the rest of us – who are left to fend for ourselves with emasculated tools – a very safe and happy Fourth of July.

PATRIOT PRAYER & ANTIFA BATTLE IT OUT ON THE STREETS OF PORTLAND, OREGON

Portland, Oregon –(Ammoland.com)-The anarcho-communist group, Antifa, attacked the Patriot Prayer rally this past Saturday in Portland, Oregon.
What was supposed to be a peaceful rally lead by Senate Candidate, Joey Gibson, and the Patriot Prayer group descended into what police describe as a riot when the alt-left group, Antifa, attacked the rally goers as they attempted their permitted march.
Police in riot gear was separating the two sides as the Patriot Prayer group gathered to prepare to march down Third Street in Portland, but once the march started members of the Eugene Antifa group began throwing rocks, m80s, and bottles at the peaceful marchers. Police declared the event a riot and ordered the two groups to disperse immediately.
“We seized numerous weapons early on, and interceded and separated people when necessary,” Deputy Police Chief Bob Day said in a statement released by the department. “However, once projectiles, such as fireworks, eggs, rocks, bottles, and construction equipment were thrown, and people were injured, we ordered people to disperse.”
At that point, the scene became even more violent with Antifa members pulling out batons and attacking members of the Patriot community who in turn defended themselves against the violent attackers. The Patriots were able to push back the leftist that were attacking even though they did not have weapons.
Police deployed rubber bullets and flash bangs to try to separate the crowds of opposing sides who were fighting in the streets. The clashes led to emergency workers had to transport five people to the hospital. One person is in serious condition. Four arrest were made, but police say those arrest were not related to the riot and were from previous investigations.
This violent exchange isn’t a first for Antifa. There were several violent exchanges in Berkeley California in 2017. The first clash occurred on February 1st when Milo Yiannopoulos came to speak at the University. Antifa tried to shut down the talk by using pepper spray and other violent methods.
Four more waves of violent Antifa attacks occurred in Berkeley against groups such as “The Proud Boys” in 2017. Eric Clanton, who became known as the “Bike Lock Professor,” allegedly tried to kill someone with a U-shaped bike lock. He will likely spend the next ten years in prison if the courts convict him of the crime. These clashes became known as “The Battle of Berkeley.”
A photographer snapped a picture of Benjamin Lynch, who was one of the organizers of the Berkeley violent clashes, this past weekend in Portland with Antifa. Lynch is known to work with the far-left group, BAMN.
Yvette Felarca, who is a middle school teacher and BAMN spokesperson, is currently on trial for felony assault and inciting a riot at another Antifa protest. Felarca is known for her anti-free speech stance and multiple suspensions from her teaching job for trying to recruit her students for Antifa. The Teacher’s Union has always been successful in defending her from termination.
Antifa also has clashed with members of white nationalist groups in Charlottesville. Those clashes left one person dead and many injured. During Trump’s inauguration, Antifa protesters attacked a Starbucks and set a limo of a Muslim immigrant on fire to somehow “resist” Trump.
Police are looking into criminal activity at this past weekend’s protest. They stated once the video footage is reviewed they will charge people accordingly.
AmmoLand reached out to Joey Gibson and the Eugene Antifa chapter, but neither returned our request for comments at the time of this writing.

SLOVAKIA ON MUSLIM MIGRANT INFLUX:
“WE ARE NOT PREPARED TO SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE MISTAKES OF OTHERS”

Another European leader opts for national survival rather than the national suicide that the EU is embracing and prescribing.
“Slovakia Backs Hungary on Migrant Crisis: ‘We Are Not Prepared to Suffer for the Mistakes of Others,’” by Jack Montgomery, Breitbart, June 29, 2018 (thanks to Inexion):
Slovak prime minister Peter Pellegrini backed the stance of his Hungarian counterpart, Viktor Orbán, against EU-mandated migrant quotas and George Soros-backed NGOs.
Pellegrini is taking over the presidency of the pro-sovereignty, anti-mass migration Visegrád Group — the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Poland, with Austria participating as something of an adjunct member since the country’s new conservative-nationalist coalition took office — from Mr Orbán.
Speaking during a joint interview on Slovak television, Pellegrini made it clear he would continue the Hungarian leader’s policy of opposition to Brussels redistributing migrantsacross Europe.
“Who may enter Slovakia and whom we let in to live here are issues that the Slovak government will decide on, and we shall not accept someone else from Brussels deciding this for us, or some other country dictating to us on this… it’s our right to decide whom we want or don’t want on our territory,” he asserted.
“I’d like to confirm and repeat Mr Orbán’s words: we are not prepared to suffer the consequences of the mistakes of others.”
Pellegrini made it clear who he felt had been making “mistakes” in Europe with a number of thinly-veiled shots at Germany’s embattled chancellor, Angela Merkel.
The EU’s migration policies, he insisted, could not be decided “by one country saying ‘We welcome you, come to us’, without the consent of the other countries” — in clear reference to Merkel’s unilateral decision to open her country’s borders to anyone claiming to be a Syrian refugee, which resulted in a flood of illegal migrants through south-eastern and central Europe.
“We cannot tolerate a situation in which some countries’ failure to put their houses in order has led to the border having more holes in it than Emmental cheese; and we cannot tolerate a situation in which we see the arrival here and free movement within the European Union of hundreds of thousands of people about whom we know nothing,” he added….

The Obama administration granted U.S. citizenship to 2,500 Iranians while negotiating the Iran nuclear deal in 2015, a senior Iranian parliament member says.
Hojjat al-Islam Mojtaba Zolnour, chairman of Iran’s parliamentary nuclear committee and a member of their national security and foreign affairs committee, claims the deal was a favor to senior Iranian officials linked to President Hassan Rouhani.
Zolnour also alleges the move created conflict with Iranian officials over whose family members would be granted American citizenship.
The conservative Zolnour spoke out against the deal, saying, “It should be stated exactly which children of which authorities live in the United States and have received citizenship or residency.”
An estimated 30 to 60 of those who were granted citizenship are studying in America, while the rest are openly “working against our national interest,” according to Zolnour.
Fox News reports that The Department of Homeland Security declined to comment on the matter.
President Trump has set a different tone with Iran by including the country in his travel ban and withdrawing the U.S. from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), otherwise known as the Iran Deal.
Some are skeptical of Zolnour’s claims, such as Fox News analyst and former Obama State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf who said, “This sounds like totally made up BS.”

KOREANS REVOLT AGAINST ARRIVAL OF MUSLIM REFUGEES

Over half a million sign petition saying they don’t want to be like the UK or Germany

BY PAUL JOSEPH WATSON
SEE: https://www.infowars.com/south-koreans-revolt-against-arrival-of-muslim-refugees/republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
South Koreans are revolting against the arrival of Muslim refugees, with over half a million signing a petition asserting that Muslim migrants don’t integrate and that they don’t want their country to end up like the UK or Germany.
The controversy began when an influx of nearly 1,000 asylum seekers from Yemen arrived on the South Korean resort island of Jeju. They took advantage of a new visa waiver program that allowed people from 186 countries to visit the island without a tourist visa.
This led to 950 foreign nationals, the majority from Yemen, arriving as tourists under a one month permit but then immediately claiming asylum, a process that can take years while they remain in the country.
“And local people here are worried,” said Hank Kim, owner of the Core Travel Agency. “We have all read about the problems that immigrants have caused in Europe — in Germany and France in particular — and we do not want that to happen here.”
Emphasizing that South Koreans do not think the Muslim religion is compatible with their culture, Kim added, “They all have big families and they bring their own culture instead of trying to adapt to the place where they live.”
With officials anticipating asylum claims to double compared to last year, South Koreans are concerned that economic migrants will exploit the system to take advantage of healthcare and other benefits.
Over 520,000 people subsequently signed a petition opposing the arrival of Muslim refugees while around 700 attended a protest march in Seoul on Saturday.
Song Young-chae, a professor at the Center for Global Creation and Collaboration at Seoul’s Sangmyung University and one of the protest attendees, said South Koreans wanted to avoid to same “crisis” that has befallen European countries who opened their borders to mass Islamic immigration.
“We have seen on television just how many problems are caused when a country like Germany or the UK is relaxed about immigration and the damage it does to societies,” he said, pinpointing pedophile grooming gangs and terrorism as two negative side-effects that South Korea did not want to import.
“There are already Muslims living in South Korea, many of whom have married a Korean and been granted permanent residency here, but they still choose to live in their own districts and make no effort to integrate into this society,” he said. “They also attempt to convert Korean people into their religion.”
South Koreans being wary of mass Islamic immigration is unsurprising given the level of animosity generated in Europe by open border policies, where 55 per cent of Europeans now support a total ban on Muslim immigration.
Last year, only 121 people out of 9,942 who applied obtained refugee status in South Korea, emphasizing how Asian countries allow very little Islamic immigration or immigration period.

EVANGELICAL VOTES HELP REPUBLICAN BROTHEL OWNER WIN NEVADA PRIMARY~WHEN GOD’S STANDARD IS NEGLECTED

When God’s Standard Is Neglected: Evangelical Votes Help Republican Brothel Owner Win Nevada Primary

BY HEATHER CLARK
SEE: https://christiannews.net/2018/06/30/when-gods-standard-is-neglected-evangelical-votes-help-republican-brothel-owner-win-nevada-primary/republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
CARSON CITY, Nev. — A Nevada strip club owner who runs five brothels recently won in the Republican primary (Republican vs. Republican) for a state assembly seat, in part due to evangelicals who were willing to back the candidate despite his unscrupulous profession. The outcome has left some scratching their heads as to why professing Christians would compromise in this regard, and others lamenting the apparent neglect of the standards for selecting civil leaders as found in Scripture.
“People will set aside for a moment their moral beliefs, their religious beliefs, to get somebody that is honest in office,” Dennis Hof, 71, told Reuters.
Hof, who was chosen to face off against Democrat Lesia Romanov in November over incumbent Republican assemblyman and hospital executive James Oscarson, is the author of “The Art of the Pimp” and his Moonlite BunnyRanch brothel was featured in the HBO series “Cathouse.” He has been married three times, claims to have had sexual relations with 4,000 women, and his website warns that although he is a successful businessman, “he’s no choirboy. The rest of his story includes lots of sex, nudity and language that no good Christian woman should ever want to hear.”
Nonetheless, reports state that some evangelicals said that they were willing to vote for Hof over the current legislator because he, like Donald Trump, is a wealthy businessman and a political outsider. Hof also identifies as conservative and supports gun rights, repealing the state’s commerce tax and addressing illegal immigration.
“Generally speaking, I am a limited government, low-tax, pro-business, state’s rights, live-and-let-live ‘conservatarian,’” his campaign website states.
“The really noteworthy thing about Hof’s election was that he received a lot of votes and a lot of support from Christian evangelicals in his district,” Reuters correspondent Tim Reid noted.
“I’ve been talking to a lot of these Christian evangelical voters and they say they’ve been perfectly happy to overlook the fact that Hof is the state’s biggest brothel keeper because they believe he’s a wealthy businessman and can’t be bought, cannot be corrupted, and will keep his campaign promises,” he said.
Hof added that he believes evangelicals were willing to look past his prostitution empire and focus on other aspects, in part, due to the fact that his brothels are legal and are a part of the state’s culture.
“The religious people voted for me because they’re tired of being lied to by politicians that say they’re Christian folks. And they set aside the fact that I have brothels because they are legal businesses in Nevada. It’s part of the culture of Nevada for 150 years,” he said.
One minister who was interviewed by the outlet, Victor Fuentes, stated that he prayed when he learned that Hof had won in the primaries.
“We have politicians—they might speak good words, not sleep with prostitutes, be a good neighbor. But by their decisions, they have evil in their heart. Dennis Hof is not like that,” he remarked.
Fuentes also said that he believed that Hof would protect religious rights.

Whitney

However, David Whitney, pastor of Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church in Pasadena, Maryland, told Christian News Network that he found evangelicals’ willingness to vote for a brothel owner concerning.
“What appears to me is that many evangelicals don’t have a biblical understanding of what a Christian’s civic responsibility involves,” he said. “Certainly Scripture is very clear in how it informs us as Christians [regarding how] we are to vote.”
Whitney pointed to Exodus 18:21, which he said still applies to Christians today.
“Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens,” the verse reads.
“It’s clear that if a candidate does not fear God, essentially they’re not qualified to hold office,” Whitney said. “Most Christians today have pushed that aside [and have said], ‘We can’t have that as a qualification for office because I might not be voting for the guy who wins.’ And so, it appears many Christians have turned to pragmatism as their guiding theology regarding civil involvement … [and choose based on] who can win, who can get things done that we want to accomplish, rather than what God says.”
He noted that Scripture also warns that if God’s people place the wicked into positions of power, “righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34).
And while Whitney believes that Hof is most likely correct in stating that evangelicals have become accustomed to legalized prostitution in the state, that is not a compliment on their part. It only shows that some Christians have “rather become a reproach rather than the righteous people of God upholding His standard in society in Nevada,” he said.
He stated that instead of voting for Hof, Christians should rather be calling this man and the nation to repentance.
Simply voting for a person because they identify as conservative is not the biblical standard, Whitney said, and when asked about the common argument that we are not electing a “pastor-in-chief,” he said that if that is the case, “why not just hire a murderer to be your governor?” Whitney advised that there is nothing wrong with doing a write-in instead of attempting to select the lesser of two evils.
“I think we ought to vote with the idea that God is going to hold us accountable for that vote that we cast,” he stated. “And so, if we cast a vote for an individual of known immorality, God will hold us accountable for that choice.”
As previously reported, Romans 13 states that civil magistrates are to be the “minister of God … for good” to uphold God’s standards in the nation and “to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.”

SOUTHERN BAPTIST LESBIAN DIVORCES HUSBAND, HAPPILY BRINGS LOVER TO CHURCH

SOUTHERN BAPTIST LESBIAN DIVORCES HUSBAND, HAPPILY BRINGS
LOVER TO CHURCH
SEE: http://pulpitandpen.org/2018/06/26/southern-baptist-lesbian-divorces-husband-happily-brings-lover-to-church/republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
Lou Anne Smoot (Right) and Her Gay Lover & “Wife” Brenda
There are untold myriads of homosexuals in Southern Baptist churches. Of that, there is little doubt and of no surprise. Many homosexuals have taken the path of Jonathan Merritt, the homosexual son of former SBC president, James Merritt, and live a lifestyle of ambiguous sexuality. Some are emboldened toward a trend in once-conservative evangelicalism that has embraced Same-Sex Attraction (SSA) as a non-sin (so long as it’s not acted upon) and promote a response of lifelong celibacy. It’s more uncommon, however, for a Southern Baptist to “come out of the closet” and continue in the Baptist church.
Lou Anne Smoot of Tyler, Texas, has written a book explaining her odyssey as a Southern Baptist who suffers from a lack of regeneration, and with it, now-unbridled and unnatural sexual attraction. She recently did an interview with the Texas Standard newspaper about what it was like to be a lesbian Southern Baptist Sunday School teacher and what it was like to divorce her husband, marry her lover, and find a third-pew seat with her new lover.
Beginning her first lesbian experience in 1956, Smoot explains that she had a fornicative relationship with her college roommate at Baylor University, a Baptist institution of higher education.
When her father discovered love letters between the two over one Christmas break, he and his wife tried to convince their daughter to abandon homosexuality.
Smoot says:
Well, of course, she shared with me what she had been taught, which was, it was sinful, and it was certainly an unacceptable way for me to live my life. Now, she and Dad had plans for me to earn my teaching certificate. And she told me that evening that no school district would ever hire me to teach in their schools. And then she explained that we would have a very difficult time just finding a place to live, that no one would rent us an apartment, and she said practically no one would even sell you a house. So, she painted a very bleak picture of our future together.
After two and a half years, her lesbian relationship ended and Smoot eventually became married to a man. However, after 37 years of marriage, Smoot decided to leave her husband and go back to her lover.
In the 1970s, Smoot traded love letters again with her former lover, who upon reading them with her husband, chose not to return the letters to Smoot. However, in the late nineties, Smoot decided she couldn’t let go of her penchant for sodomy (unnatural affection).
Smoot says:
At that time I was 60 years of age. I was teaching a ladies’ Sunday school class in the First Baptist Church, and one day I was simply visiting with one of those members,” Smoot says. “And she began telling me about her son, who was an artist. And this thought came into my head, Her son is gay… I believe God put that thought in my head, and I believe pushed me into what I did next, which was ask this woman, ‘Is your son a homosexual?’ Well, you don’t go around asking people that question. Especially in Texas and a member of a Southern Baptist Church. Well, she was shocked. And she hesitated for a long time. And then she finally said, ‘Yes, but that’s just the way God made him. And God loves him just the way he is, and we should too.’
No doubt, there are countless stories like this. Sin corrupts, addicts, and eventually kills. What comes next in the interview is the revelation that once divorced, Smoot attended church with her lesbian lover and sits proudly on the third pew.
But then, I feel that God nudged me at that time. If I stayed, I told myself that I had a very unique opportunity to become known as a gay Christian – what to many, and maybe most and all the members of that church, was an oxymoron. So I decided to stay and then when my present wife, Brenda – and we have now been together over 17 years – when she joined me at the church, then together we became the church’s example of a gay Christian couple. And we made a point of sitting about the third row from the front in the center section, where everybody could see us.”
According to the audio interview, which makes it clearer than the written article by Texas Standard, Smoot remained in the Southern Baptist Church, not a more liberal church. There was no indication that Smoot has faced any action of church discipline.
Smoot said, “The Holy Spirit was pleased with the step I was taking.”

The following article is the second of a three part testimony about my experience with the cult of Freemasonry at my former church, Rowland Spring Baptist Church.  Rowland Springs Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist Church in Cartersville, Georgia and is a part of the Georgia Baptist Convention and Bartow Baptist Association.

The 2017 Cartersville Masonic Lodge Officers, including RSBC Church member Alton Kay as Worshipful Master.  Also pictured are RSBC church members Freddie Gunn and Frankie James.  Not pictured is lodge Chaplain Jim Moore.
Defending the Faith
I knew bringing up the issue of Freemasonry at Rowland Springs wasn’t going to be easy.  Fortunately, I knew just when and where I could get some advice on how to do it.  Every January, the Institute of Christian Apologetics at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS) holds a week-long conference entitled “Defend the Faith.”  The conference features theologians from across the country, as well as local professors, who have expertise in contrasting Christianity with false religions.  Course credit is offered for students who attend.  I signed up for the 2017 conference in order to fulfill some of my last requirements for graduating from NOBTS with a Masters of Divinity in Christian Apologetics.  I determined to ask some of my professors about Masonry while there.  I knew that the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) had investigated Freemasonry in years past and taken a somewhat lukewarm, if not politically influenced, position on the Lodge in its final report on the matter.  I trusted my professors more than denominational reports and determined to ask them some pointed questions about the Lodge.  If I was more concerned than I needed to be about Freemasonry, I figured they could back me down.  I left the Defend the Faith conference as determined as ever to confront the dangerous cult, not only at my church, but in my denomination as a whole.
Two of the speakers at the conference were counter-cult specialists James Walker and David Henke of the Watchman Fellowship, which is an independent Christian research and apologetics ministry focusing on new religious movements, cults, the occult, and the New Age.  One of the staples of that ministry is its Profile NotebookThe publication, which is updated monthly, contains 4-page briefings on new religious movements, the occult, cults, New Age spirituality, and related doctrines and practices – everything from Acupuncture to Zen Buddhism.  The Profile Notebook, which was required reading for my “Cult Theology” course at NOBTS contains a profile on Freemasonry authored by Ron Rhodes.  It was that profile that first got me interested in studying Freemasonry and informed me about its dangerous and blasphemous theology.  During my week in New Orleans, I spent time eating lunch with James and David.  I told them about my situation, that I knew of a Freemason who was a member of my church.  I asked for their advice on how to approach him.  James suggested giving Jim the Freemasonry pages from the Profile Notebook and asking him to mark up anything that he didn’t think was accurate.  It sounded like a pretty good idea to me, so I planned on giving Jim the profile when I got back to Georgia.  James and David warned me, however, that dealing with Masonry at a local church was like dealing with a snake. “Never try to step on it unless you are sure you can crush the head without being bitten,” James told me.  I wouldn’t learn until later just how accurate James warning was.
Two of my professors are on the board of the Watchman Fellowship: Dr. Putman and Dr. Stewart.  They were also speaking at the conference.  When asked during a class session, Dr. Putman agreed with me that Masonry demonstrated tenants of Gnosticism.  Dr. Stewart was more hesitant to offer his opinion on the cult.  He did, however, offer a story from his younger days at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS).  While there, he had been tasked with writing articles for a denominationally published book on cults.  Naturally, the subject of Freemasonry came up during his research.  Knowing Baptist historian and chair of the SWBTS history department, H. Leon McBeth, to be a Mason, Dr. Stewart inquired with him about Masonic rituals.  When confronted about the activities of the lodge, McBeth confirmed the details of Stewart’s research but told the young Stewart, “we don’t really believe it.”  Dr. Stewart’s story, as lacking in details as it was, confirmed two things to me.  First, the activities of the Lodge are unbiblical.  Second, it can mean trouble to speak of them in Southern Baptist circles.
Freemasons have had a strong presence in the Southern Baptist Convention.  John T. Christian, a history professor after whom the NOBTS library is named, was a Freemason.   So, too, was William T. Hamilton, who served as NOBTS President (1927-1953), SBC President (1940-1942), and the Head of Evangelism for the Home Mission Board.  The first President of SWBTS, B.H. Carroll, was a Freemason.  In 1991, it was estimated that 14% of SBC pastors and 18% of SBC Deacons were Freemasons with 400-500k Freemasons in SBC membership.  Masonic influence is almost certainly the reason why the SBC’s 1993 statement on Freemasonry so weakly condemns Masonic practice.  Even the influential layperson, Dr. James L. Holly of Texas, who for years pressed the SBC to investigate the cult of Freemason was kicked out of his local church for bringing the matter of Freemasonry to light there.  The Masonic snake bites, and Southern Baptist Theologians tend to tread carefully when discussing the matter.  That’s why I was thankful for the strong, unequivocal condemnation of the Lodge I heard from Dr. Mike Miller, the pastor of Central Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Texas.  Miller is a no-nonsense preaching professor at NOBTS.  During a pulpit polemics breakout session at the Defend The Faith conference, I asked Dr. Miller how he dealt with Freemasonry as a pastor.  “I tell them to leave the lodge or leave the church,” he said.  Miller’s strong biblical stance is befitting of a pastor.  Unfortunately, the timid Joe Ringwalt is pastor of RSBC.  It was Ringwalt’s support that I would need to combat this evil when I got home.  I would not get it.
Stepping on the Snake
I returned home from the Defend the Faith conference on January 6th ready to confront Freemasonry at RSBC head-on.  Shortly thereafter I was approached by the staff of RSBC about preaching at the church’s monthly Men’s Brotherhood Breakfast on the 15th.  In accepting the invitation, I saw the perfect opportunity to subtly raise the pressing issue of Freemasonry before the men of the church.  I was told I could preach on “whatever I wanted.”  After my topic was determined, Pastor Ringwalt emailed the entire church to following statement
In the morning, we start with Brotherhood Breakfast at 8:30am. Seth Dunn will be bringing a challenging message to our boys and men about living a holy life before God.”
My message was grounded in three sections of scripture: Acts 17, Joshua 7, and 1 Corinthians 10.  Using Acts 17 as a backdrop, I challenged the men of our church to recognize the centers of idolatry all around our county: the LDS Church, the Kingdom Hall, the Islamic Center, and “certain fraternal orders.”  Like the men of Athens, we were surrounded by people who were very religious.  Like the Apostle Paul, we were responsible to evangelize the pagans around us with the gospel of Jesus Christ, contrasting Christianity with the false religions that had taken our neighbors captive.  Before, we could do so, we had to first look inwardly.  I told the story of Achan and the Israelites from Joshua 7 and explained how the entire body suffered defeat because of the secret sins of one man in the camp.  I then transitioned to Paul’s warnings from Israel’s history in 1 Corinthians 10.  We, as the local church, had to first hold ourselves accountable before we could effectively witness to the pagan world.  I distinctly remember looking up during my message, as I was making a point about holiness in the body, and seeing Joe Ringwalt nodding in agreement.
As I expected, Jim Moore attended the breakfast.  When it was over, I took James Walker’s advice and approached Jim.  I presented him with Watchman Fellowship’s Freemasonry profile and asked him if he could review it for me.  I told him that I had studied the Lodge in school but wanted his opinion as a man who had been a member of the lodge of fifty years.  Jim was quick to tell me, a fellow church member, that much of his knowledge of Masonry was secret and could not be revealed to me.  Nevertheless he agreed to look the document over and mark up what wasn’t accurate.  After that I attended Sunday School and the worship service.  On the way out the door, I was stopped by Frankie James.  Heretofore, I had never spoken to Frankie but had seen him around the church.  As is common in many churches, RSBC has a security team that keeps an eye on the parking lot and stands by the doors during the service.  Frankie is one of the men who volunteers to work security there.  Frankie told me that he, too, was a Mason and that it was nothing to worry about, that Masonry was okay.  Jim had obviously shown him the Watchman profile.  The snake was beginning to slither.

RSBC members Randy Reese (a known Mason), Larry Vaughan, and Jeff Baker (a deacon) at a Masonic golf tournament.  The picture was taken by Baptist Mason Tony Ross.
Frankie’s smiling assurances gave me no comfort.  To the contrary, I began to become uneasy about just how many Masons were present at RSBC.  Adam had told me Jim Moore was the only one of which he knew and the only other one I knew of, Fred Gunn Jr, had died the month before.  When I got home, I more closely perused the Cartersville Lodge #63 website.  I clicked on a link entitled “lodge officers” which I had not examined before.  To my great dismay, I saw more than one familiar face.  Not only was Jim Moore listed as Lodge Chaplain but three other church members, Frankie James, Freddie Gunn (Fred’s son), and Alton Kay, were pictured with the Lodge officers was well.  Alton Kay was the current Worshipful Master of the Lodge.  Rowland Springs was a haven, a stronghold of Freemasonry.  The problem was much bigger than one kindly old man.
The next Sunday, I walked into my Sunday School classroom and found the Freemasonry profile I had given Jim on my lectern.  It was nearly completely highlighted.  He left no other markups or notes so I assumed the highlights Jim had made were to indicate what was inaccurate in the profile.  After Sunday School, I found Jim standing near my usual pew in the sanctuary.  When I asked him about his markups, he referred to the profile as “garbage.”  I tried to ask some follow up questions but he insisted that he could not divulge his secret information, he would only repeat his claim that the profile was “garbage.”  The profile included some citations from the work of Albert Mackey, one of the best known Masonic authors of all time.  Mackey is cited authoritatively in Akin’s Lodge Manual with the Georgia Masonic Code.  Jim, a 50-year Mason and Chaplain of a Georgia Masonic Lodge claimed to have never heard of Mackey.  The profile indicated that prayer in the name of Jesus was discouraged in Masonic lodges.  Jim insisted that he did in fact teach about and pray in the name of Jesus in the Lodge.  He made some strange comments about the ordinances of the church and how pastors unjustly restrained the communion to church service and ended our conversation by aggressively telling me that “I needed to drop this cult stuff.”  There was anger in his face.  This was out of character for the man I had heretofore known.  The congenial ambassador of Rowland Springs Baptist had turned cold and aloof.  After that day, Jim would no longer approach my pew to say hello to me and my wife as he had done before; I knew why.  I had touched his idol and he was upset.  I also knew that Jim had lied to me about his assessment of the Watchman Profile.  I also approached a former Masonic Worshipful Master from Wisconsin named Larry Herzog about the accuracy of the profile.  Larry, who had left the Lodge out of Christian conviction, confirmed to me its accuracy.  Jim denied it and became unapproachable.
Chic-fil-A and the Church Basement
Ninety-one days after first approaching Jim about his involvement with Freemasonry, I taught my last Sunday School class at RSBC, on Easter Sunday 2017.  In that short time, I had gone from being someone who was tapped to preach for the men’s ministry and tasked with teaching the church’s doctrinal Sunday School class to being forcibly removed as Sunday School teacher and encouraged to leave the church.  The snake had bitten.  Not long after my conversation with Jim, I was asked by Joe Ringwalt and Adam Burrell to meet them at Chic-Fil-A.  For the first time since I began attending Rowland Springs Joe and Adam expressed their dissatisfaction with me.  According to them, certain unnamed deacons had brought my name up during the last deacons’ meeting.  They expressed concern with my being a Sunday school teacher at RSBC and how it reflected on the church in the community.  This was out of left field.  Only one of the deacons had ever attended my class and none had ever come to me in person with a problem.  I asked why these deacons hadn’t first come to me personally before bringing my name up in a meeting.  Joe agreed with me that the deacons should have come to me first individually but said that since he had heard what they had to say that he felt it was necessary to address their concerns with me.  I was told that my social media activities, blogs and Facebook posts, were embarrassing to the church.  Well before coming to RSBC, I had been a well-known Baptist blogger.  Yet, no one at RSBC, in the months leading up to my joining the church and becoming a Sunday School teacher, had ever expressed a problem with my writing.  Neither did anyone express a problem with my writing, much of which addressed Freemasonry, after I joined the church and became a Sunday School teacher.  Joe and Adam were well aware of my past church involvement and the reason that I was searching for a new fellowship when I came to RSBC.  They were also aware of my opposition to certain denominational causes (such as NAMB) and the Masonic Lodge.  When they were seeking me as a “prospect” to join the church, these stances of mine were not a problem.  Notably, I was voted in as a Sunday School teacher at church conference almost immediately after joining the body.  Now, though, Joe and Adam were very worried about what I might say or write.  Something seemed off to me.  To alleviate their concerns and those of the deacons, I agreed with Joe and Adam that I would write a blog post to all the Christians in our county explaining my motivation for my various blogs and social media posts.
Before lunch was over I told Joe that a bigger concern in our church should be Freemasonry.  I told him about what I had discovered on the Lodge website.  Rather than expressing concern and lament that a cult has so deeply infiltrated a church in his shepherding care, Joe spoke about his employment situation.  Upon hearing what I had to say, Joe’s posture changed.  He leaned down over the table and quietly said, “If I go against Freemasonry, I’ll get fired.”  I knew right then and there that Joe was compromised on the issue and I would get no support from him in standing against the demonic cult that pervaded RSBC.  Joe was a hireling, more concerned with retaining his job than the spiritual health of his church.  Everything about our conversation that day indicated that Joe was more worried about himself than he was with shepherding the church.  Months before, when Joe had visited my house to talk about my joining the church, he acted like he was strongly opposed to the Lodge.  Now, when addressed with a specific and pervasive problem in RSBC, he seemed fearful.  I think Joe was under the impression that I would drop the matter after our conversation, knowing that it was something he wasn’t willing to address.  There was simply no chance of that happening.  Without the support of the pastor, and up against a new and strangely timed opposition from the staff and the deacons, I considered what my next steps would be concerning Jim and the rest of the Masons.
I determined, by the dictates of Holy Scripture, that I would approach the masons of RSBC myself.  In Matthew’s 18:15, Jesus instructs church members to approach those fellow members of their local church who are sin directly and encourage them to repent.  This is not a suggestion, it is a command, one which is reiterated by the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 5:11.  Freemasonry is a demonic cult which requires its members to sin against the Lord by the very requirements of its initiation rite.  If a man is in the Lodge, he is sin.  Every time he invites another man to join the Lodge, he encourages another to sin.  Freemasons lead men away from Christ, not towards him.  I could do nothing less than approach each Freemason at my local church and live within the will of the Lord.  From a church discipline standpoint this was a complicated and difficult situation.  Because Freemasonry is a secret society full of respected, service-minded men, many Christians are under the false impression that the Lodge is an innocent, benevolent, and even good social organization.  Few, like me, study the ins and outs of cults.  If the Masons refused to repent, choosing instead to strike like James Walker’s metaphorical snake, I could not depend on the staff and deacons at RSBC to go with me as “two or three witnesses.”  Nor, if the Masons were to be brought before the body, could I depend on the general knowledge of a church that had tolerated their presence for so long.  As a Sunday School teacher, I could educate people in my class about the Lodge but speaking to a specific matter outside of my curriculum would almost certainly draw the ire of the already suspicious pastor and deacons.  Plus, my Sunday School class constituted a minuscule percentage of the church.  I wasn’t sure how to educate the church or who could go with me as “two or three” but I knew I had a responsibility to urgently call the Masons to repent.
I decided to draft a letter to each individual Mason from RSBC that I had found on the Cartersville #63 website.  While I was planning my letter, the staff and deacons at Rowland Springs were planning to oust me from my teaching position.  There was another lunch meeting at Chic-Fil-A with Joe and Adam.  I was berated for being publicly critical of Southern Baptist causes like NAMB and the Georgia Baptist Convention.  It didn’t seem to matter to Joe than NAMB was currently being sued by a former Baptist state executive and NOBTS professor or that the Georgia Baptist Convention had constructed a sinfully opulent $45M headquarters.  Joe plainly didn’t want the word to get out on these matters of controversy.  It became very apparent to me how Joe had retained his position of RSBC pastor for twenty years when the average tenure of an SBC pastor was nine years.  Joe didn’t make waves.  Joe avoided controversy.  I was reminded of the words of friend and former Rowland Springs church member who warned me about Joe when I first started visiting RSBC:
I grew up at Rowland Springs.  Joe Ringwalt was a very much, don’t step on toes, kind of preacher…Rowland Springs had a lot of “old money” and he worried about making them upset.  There isn’t much discipline that I ever saw, and Joe will rarely step on anyone’s toes with a sermon.
Joe did his best to deal with me quietly.  He asked me to step down from teaching Sunday School.  I told him, “You’ll have to fire me.”  I hated being put in the position to defend myself as a Sunday School teacher.  The members of my class were effusive when describing how I taught.  It was by their suggestion that I was considered the former teacher’s replacement when he moved.  One man even suggested that Joe should have me fill the pulpit upon his first visit to my class.  I had been training in seminary to teach doctrine for years.  Yet Joe and Adam were asking me to quit.  I told them that it didn’t make sense that they would fire their “best Sunday School teacher.”  It was, plainly, dirty politics.  I wasn’t about to let Joe Ringwalt make me a quiet quitter in a Chic-Fil-A booth 30 miles from the church.  The church had voted me in, the church was going to have to vote me out.  At the end of the lunch I asked Joe and Adam if I was in sin.  I told them that I wanted to repent if I was.  Neither of them expressed to me that I was sinning.  They just didn’t like how I was handling myself online.  Again, there was no accusation of sin.
Not long after our second lunch meeting I mailed out my letters to the various RSBC Freemasons.  The letters were similarly worded but tailored to each man.  My letter to Jim, mailed out on April 10th, read as follows:
 Dear Jim,
As you will recall, I recently shared a document on Freemasonry with you.  I passed this document on to you at the suggestion of James Walker.  Mr. Walker is the President of Watchman Fellowship, which is a Christian research and apologetics ministry focusing on new religious movements, cults, the occult and the New Age.  Watchman Fellowship published the document on Freemasonry which I shared with you.  It was part of the assigned reading for my recent Cult Theology class at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  The document piqued my interest in researching Freemasonry.  I have come to conclude, along with the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention and a number of other Christian denominations, that Freemasonry is not compatible with Christianity.  I was disappointed to see that you, a member of Rowland Springs Baptist Church, have been a Mason for over fifty years.
Before I joined RSBC, I asked Joe very directly if there were any Masons in positions of leadership at RSBC.  This question was intended to assess the health the local body. Joe assured me that there were no Masons in leadership.  As I understand it, both you and Alton Kay (your Worshipful Master) are ushers. Although it’s a very visible position, I don’t suppose usher is a position of “leadership.” Nonetheless you and Alton are my fellow church members.  Thus, I am obligated by scripture to take the uncomfortable step of showing you, Jim, your sin.  I ask that you repent of the sin of being involved in Freemasonry and immediately renounce your membership in Lodge #63.
As a faithful Christian, I can do no other thing.  The Lord Jesus said, “If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother.”  This is what I hope to do with this letter.  I do not seek to “sharply rebuke an older man,” but rather I appeal to you as a younger man.  Think of your witness and the way you influence others.  I understand that you may be taken aback by my actions.  Perhaps no other church member has ever approached you asking you to renounce Freemasonry.  It could be the case that the other members of our church are, as I was for many years, ignorant of the unbiblical nature of Freemasonry. Having researched the matter myself, I can no longer say that I am unaware.  The Apostle James wrote, “to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.”  I am in the position of knowing about the nature of Freemasonry. So are you.  Thus, we both must do the right thing.  There is a sentiment among some that many Freemasons simply see the craft as a harmless fraternal organization and have not fully considered its spiritual claims ramifications.  Though I do not share this sentiment, given that you are the lodge chaplain and a fifty year Mason, I cannot assume that such is the case with you.
As you know, Freemasonry requires that oaths be taken to be initiated into the Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft, and Master Mason degrees.  These oaths are fairly described as barbaric and involve binding oneself under the penalty of having one’s throat cut “ear to ear” and having one’s “tongue torn out by its roots”.  These oaths violate the command of the Lord Jesus who stated:
“make no oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is the footstool of His feet, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. Nor shall you make an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black.  But let your statement be, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’; anything beyond these is of evil.”
To even enter the most basic degrees of Freemasonry, one must disobey Christ.  As a fifty year Mason, you have no doubt taken part in many initiation ceremonies.  This is not an acceptable action for a member of the body of Christ.  It is sin.  This oath swearing in itself puts Masonry at odds with Christianity.  That’s to say nothing of the extrabiblical story of the death and resurrection of Hiram Abiff.
The secrecy of Freemasonry is inherently antithetical to Christianity.  The Lord Jesus told his followers that they are “the light of the world.”  Jesus said, “A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.  Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”  Freemasons claims to have the “light” of Masonry, yet they keep it secret from outsiders, even members of their own churches.
Freemasonry claims that it “makes good men better.”  This can’t be so.  Scripture teaches that there are no good men.  Jesus Christ said: “There is only One who is good; No one is good except God alone.” Scripture, through the Apostle Paul and the prophet Isaiah, teaches that “there is none righteous, not even one.”  The website of the Cartersville lodge states that “no particular religion or faith is required or excluded” from Freemasonry.  Thus, Freemasonry as an institution teaches lost people that they are good and can get better through Masonry (and outside of faith in Christ).  This both denies the effects of the Edenic fall and the power of the gospel.
If there is any remaining doubt the Freemasonry denies the scripture then consider the words from Akin’s own manual, which was published here in Cartersville, GA:
“As you are now introduced into the first principles of Masonry, I congratulate you on being accepted into this ancient an honorable Order: ancient, as having subsisted from time immemorial; and honorable, as tending in every particular, so to render all men who will conformable to its precepts.  No institution was ever raised on a better principle, or more solid foundation.  Nor were ever more excellent rules and useful maxims laid down that are inculcated in the several Masonic lectures. The greatest and best of man, in all ages, have been encouragers and promoters of the art, and have never deemed it derogatory to their dignity to level themselves with the fraternity, extend their privileges, and patronize their assemblies.”
The Church of Jesus Christ was raised on the Solid Rock, Jesus Christ.  He is the chief cornerstone of the church.  This is the most solid foundation of any institution.  The Bible is God’s Holy word and contains better maxims than any man-based teachings. The statement above from Akin’s manual is antithetical to Christianity and no Christian should be able to say it good conscience.  None should believe it. No prophet or apostle has ever been a Freemason (from time immemorial).  Nor was the Lord Jesus Christ.  It is not true, then, that “the greatest and best of man, in all ages” have encouraged and promoted Freemasonry.
Akin’s manual also implies, through its funeral service language, that non-Christians can make it to Heaven through their virtuous living.  This is denial of what the Apostle Paul wrote to the Ephesians:
“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
It is also a denial of the clear words of Jesus, no one gets to the Father except through Him.
You said the document that I shared with you was “garbage.”  I do not believe you are correct. I shared it with a former Chaplain and Worshipful Master from Wisconsin named Larry Herzog.  He told me that the document contained truth. (Larry left Freemasonry after coming to Christ.)  I have consulted a number of resources about Masonry, including pastors, seminary professors, former masons, and cult experts.  The verdict is clear.  The Craft is antithetical to Christianity and an affront to both the church universal and local. Jesus Christ said, “nothing is hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light.”  The secret things of Masonry have been brought to light.
Please renounce Freemasonry and repent of your sin.
Sincerely,
G. Seth Dunn
My letters did not go over well with the Masons.  Rather than respond to me personally, the Masons went straight to Joe and the deacons.  I soon received an angry call from Joe informing me that the deacons were taking action to remove me as a Sunday School teacher that week.  He also told me that there were 7-8 Masons at RSBC, double the number I had assumed from reading the Lodge website.  Joe refused to tell me their names other than one, a member of the choir named Randy Reese who was, according to Joe, no longer active.   Adam Burrell, who had once remarked to me that “at least 1/3 to 1/4 sitting in church on any given Sunday morning are likely not true believers” was terribly unconcerned about the number of cult members in the church at which he was employed as “Minister of Students and Families”.
I was summoned to a midweek evening meeting with the deacons in the church basement.  Only two of the deacons showed up.  I arrived early and was already waiting for them in the church library (a pitiful place, full of books by Don Piper, Joyce Meyer, Beth Moore, John Hagee, and Beth Moore) as they were walking in.

The two men, Ken Nix and Pat Malin, both mature in age, were joking with one another about how they needed their side arms for the meeting.  Before they walked into the room, it was clear to me that they viewed me not as a brother who needed to be loved but a problem to be dealt with.  When Joe and Adam arrived they handed me a letter which accused me of being prideful and divisive, using my defense of being the best “Sunday School” teacher against me as evidence that I was arrogant.  The letter, signed by every deacon (none of whom had communicated with me personally beforehand) stated that I was to be relieved of teaching Sunday School.  My class was to be broken up and reformed as a new class with Adam as its teacher.  Joe, Adam, and the Deacon Board flouted Matthew 18 and together accused me of sin without one man first coming to privately to do so.  During the meeting, Pat suggested that I leave the church quietly since it didn’t agree with my stance.  Ken, the man who joked about needing a gun to meet with me not thirty minutes before, said I wasn’t loving.  Adam said Freemasonry was a matter of conscience like “meat sacrificed to idols”and that I was doubting the salvation of  “good” men.  Joe proclaimed that Freemasonry wasn’t “a hill to die on”.   When I reminded him of his words at Chick-fil-A, that he said “he would get fired” for going against Masonry, Joe adamantly denied saying it.  Adam, the only other party who had been present at the lunch, reminded Joe that he did indeed make that remark.  Joe, who had moments before denied making the comments at all, then insisted that he was just joking when he said that.  Joe insisted that I apologize to the Masons for my letter and warned me that I could be brought before the church and expelled over the matter.  Since the church body as a whole had voted me to the position of Sunday School teacher, I did not believe that the deacons had the authority to remove me from my class.  At the same time, I could see the unholy writing on the wall.  The church, not being educated on the matter, would be quicker to listen to their pastor of twenty years than they would to me.  They had respected and known the Masonic men for years.  I was relatively new to the church and the deacons were all against me.  Complicating matters was that I was two classes away from graduating seminary and had a three-month-old baby.  I barely had time to prepare my lessons each week as it was and I certainly didn’t want to explain to my seminary, after working seven years towards graduating, that I had been excommunicated and no longer had the endorsement of a local church.
I accepted the actions of the deacons and quietly focused on my two remaining seminary classes.  I had fulfilled my obligation under Matthew 18 to go privately to the Masons.  My conscience was clean and Fred Gunn Jr’s tragic obituary burned less brightly in mind.  Both Joe and I knew, however, that I wasn’t done with Freemasonry.  I was bound and determined to find a way to educate the church about the wickedness of the Lodge.  I had the next eight months to finish my final seminary classes and figure out how.
Part Three of this article is forthcoming…

RACHEL HELD EVANS ACKNOWLEDGES ABORTION TARGETS MINORITIES;
IS STILL FOR IT
SEE: http://pulpitandpen.org/2018/06/29/rachel-held-evans-acknowledges-abortion-targets-minorities-is-still-for-it/republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
The eventuality of President Donald Trump nominating a second Supreme Court Justice in the first year-and-a-half of his presidency has liberals in a tizzy (the previous two presidents were only able to nominate two justices over the two full four-year terms). Likewise, social conservatives are elated with the possibility of a second pro-life appointee to the highest court by President Trump. Many evangelical voters have felt vindicated for voting for Trump, even in spite of his personal wretchedness, with the possibility of overturning Roe v Wade closer than at any time in history. And many evangelical leftists are sore losers, angry that conservative evangelicals aren’t laden with guilt and clothed in sackcloth over their decision to vote for Trump. In the last several days, leftist Christians like Ron Burns (Thabiti Anyabwile) have made the argument that even if abortion is criminalized, the lives saved won’t be worth the “compromise” necessary to work with Trump. Rachel Held Evans has now made the same argument.
We presume the reader is familiar with Held Evans, the progressive-leftist who officially abandoned evangelicalism several years ago for not being open enough to sodomy. If not, you can peruse our links about Held Evans, here.
Held Evans issued the following tweet.
Uh, yes. Yes, we realize that the abortion industry targets minority populations for brutal extinction. Apparently, Held Evans also realizes that, according to her tweet. What’s bizarre is that she doesn’t seem to get the irony of it.
While she puts “millions of lives” in “scare quotes,” as though 1.2 million dead babies per year aren’t really “lives,” she does acknowledge that a significant percentage of these lives are in “communities of color.”
One would think that if you truly think the Trump administration is actively oppressing communities of color that they would rejoice that he’s taking a great first step in protecting them by nominating a pro-life Supreme Court justice. While it remains unclear how POTUS is actively oppressing minority groups (unemployment in the black community is at an all-time low and their income is at an all-time high), with no single action taken by POTUS that liberals can point to as “oppressive,” it is good that Held Evans recognizes abortion affects blacks more than whites. It’s not good that she doesn’t think ending abortion is worth celebrating.
Matt Walsh and other social media savvy conservatives quickly took Held Evans to task on Twitter, pointing out the callousness of her position and coldness toward the unborn.  They also pointed out her apparent cognitive dissonance; her reasoning that protecting lives of minorities is somehow at odds with helping minorities. Held Evans was so bombarded with tweets that she deleted the original thread and said she was going to “sign off” for a while. She was back at it, however, defending her comments, in a short period of time.

Please note that Held Evans says that she is “pro-life” in her convictions, but doesn’t necessarily think abortion should be illegal (hint: that’s not being pro-life). Then, Held Evans engaged in victimology, claiming that she had received “disturbing responses and threats.” However, NO such disturbing responses OR threats were seen in the ensuing thread.
Finally, “systemic injustices” don’t “contribute to abortion.” Abortion IS the systemic injustice. Oh, and by the way, people who commit abortions are, indeed, baby killers.

U.S. PROMISES “FULL IMPLEMENTATION” OF UN GUN CONTROL AGREEMENT

U.S. PROMISES “FULL IMPLEMENTATION” OF UN GUN CONTROL AGREEMENT
SEE: https://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/constitution/item/29424-us-promises-full-implementation-of-un-gun-control-agreementrepublished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
June 29 marked the end of the Third Review Conference (RevCon) of the United Nations’ Programme of Action (PoA) on Small Arms and Light Weapons. Delegates at the conference, including representatives of the United States, worked on producing updates to the global gun-control agreement.
According to the text of the latest draft of the agreement, the PoA will serve as an “international instrument to enable states to identify and trace, in a timely and reliable manner” the small arms and light weapons that are the target of the scheme.
In practice, this means that the governments of member nations (including the United States) should create a massive, all-inclusive database of all parties that manufacture, own, sell, trade, or transfer arms and ammunition.
If recent history is a reliable indicator of how such data would be used, after the catalog is complete, Congress could, hypothetically, pass a law (or the president would issue an executive order) compelling “voluntary” surrender of whatever privately-owned weapons, ammo, parts, and components (including reloading equipment) the UN deems “illicit.” If, after a statutorily set window, citizens don’t turn in these now-illicit items to their local law enforcement, then officers will be sent to remind violators of their responsibility under the law to disarm.
The delegates — including those from the United States — present at the PoA planning meeting have agreed to begin developing domestic legal frameworks that will provide for the “proper management of small arms and light weapons stockpiles.”
To assist member states in the implementation of the disarmament and stockpiling of the prohibited small weapons and light arms in the hands of anyone other than approved government entities, the PoA places the enforcement of the provisions “into the operational activities of United Nations peacekeeping missions.”
In other words, should the Congress and the president fail to begin seizing and stockpiling privately owned weapons “in a timely manner,” then the UN will deploy blue-helmeted peacekeeping troops to assist in the operation.
Regarding the implementation of the PoA at the national level, the final draft of the report of the latest RevCon lists six points to which all member states agreed to advance within their respective domestic governments. Here are those six commitments, taken directly from the document:
1.To establish or strengthen national laws, regulations and administrative procedures in support of the full and effective implementation of the Programme of Action.
2. To strengthen coordinated national approaches for the implementation of the Programme of Action, including, as appropriate, the establishment or designation of national coordination agencies or bodies involving relevant government agencies, including those responsible for law enforcement, border control and export and import licensing.
3. To promote the full participation and representation of women in mechanisms relating to the implementation of the Programme of Action and to encourage strong cooperation with civil society, parliamentarians, industry and the private sector.
4. To establish or designate a national point of contact to act as a liaison between States on matters relating to the implementation of the Programme of Action; and to share and update this information regularly; and to provide the point of contact with the necessary means to carry out its role.
5. To encourage the development and implementation of national action plans or other national policies in support of the implementation of the Programme of Action by making better use of existing information to improve the measurement of progress and to coordinate the development and implementation of such plans or policies, as appropriate, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including those from civil society and industry, with those relevant to target 16.4 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and to the relevant United Nations resolution on women, disarmament, non-proliferation and arms control.
6. To significantly reduce the illicit flows of small arms and light weapons, as appropriate, through illicit weapons recovery and voluntary surrender programmes.
Anyone with even the most cursory constitutional education will be able to identify several significant problems present in this list of commitments, a list to which the United States has agreed.
First, in order to legally comply with the goal of “full and effective implementation of the Programme of Action,” the Second Amendment to the Constitution would have to be repealed. That critical provision of the Bill of Rights explicitly forbids the federal government from infringing whatsoever on the right of the people to keep and bear arms. The Programme of Action, on the other hand, requires that member states do all they can to not only infringe on the right to keep and bear certain arms the UN doesn’t approve of, but on the right to buy, sell, and trade them (and the ammunition that makes them effectual), too.
Second, the agreement would require the repeal of the 10th Amendment, as it would place state governments, as well as state and local law enforcement, subject to federal and international agencies tasked with licensing weapons and controlling international borders. Placing the state governments and their resources at the mercy of the federal and international governing bodies would turn the Constitution upside down and would violate the anti-commandeering principle which holds that the federal government cannot coerce states into participating in federal programs.
Third, the appointment of a “liaison” between the federal government and the United Nations would be an extra-constitutional act that would result in the endowment of an unelected person with the “necessary means to carry out” the Programme of Action in the United States. One wonders how liberally the globocrats and the homegrown gun-grabbers would define the phrase “necessary means” in order to accomplish their shared goal of seizing weapons and ammunition from civilians.
Could this liaison call upon the General Assembly or the Security Council to send UN “peacekeepers” into the territory of one of the sovereign states of the American union charged with assisting law enforcement with the mandated registration and eventual seizure of all light weapons? While this seems far-fetched, is it really outside the realm of possibiliity for some future date?
Next, the Programme of Action calls for the domestic implementation of some system capable of using “existing information to improve the measurement of progress” of the full implementation fo the Programme of Action, including disarmament and the control of all sale, purchase, and trade of disapproved firearms.
How, do you imagine, would the progress of implementation be measured? By means of a compulsory national firearm registration? By means of tracking the manufacture and sale of ammunition from factory to end-user? Yes.
If you doubt it, consider this paragraph from the PoA agreement: “To take advantage of the opportunities that new technologies, when available, can offer for enhanced small arms and light weapons stockpile management and security, including through improved marking and record-keeping, and for the destruction of surplus small arms and light weapons that have been designated for destruction.”
Finally, there are many, many more patently unconstitutional provisions of the UN’s Programme of Action and the United States, in order to protect the Second Amendment, must refuse to negotiate with those who would see Americans disarmed and vulnerable to rule by the global plutocrats.
Right now, that seems unlikely though, as the “Working Paper Submitted by the United States” declares that “Implementation [of the PoA] must remain priority #1” and that “the United States continues to support full implementation of the PoA at the global, regional, and national levels.”
Perhaps Americans who oppose eventual disarmament by the UN and the participation of our government in that betrayal should contact President Trump and encourage him to get the United States out of the UN.

NEW EUROPEAN UNION DEAL CONTINUES MIGRANT INFLUX, ADVANCES GLOBALISM

NEW EUROPEAN UNION DEAL CONTINUES MIGRANT INFLUX, ADVANCES GLOBALISM
BY ALEX NEWMAN
SEE: https://www.thenewamerican.com/world-news/europe/item/29422-new-eu-deal-continues-migrant-influx-advances-globalismrepublished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
With the European Union superstate on the brink of collapse over disagreements on how to handle the migrant tsunami swamping the bloc, EU leaders met in Brussels last week and inked a “compromise” deal that will encourage further mass migration while advancing globalism in Europe and beyond. Globalist EU bigwigs and United Nations bosses all celebrated the plan. Even some ostensibly “populist” leaders expressed support due to some minor concessions they secured. But as Western governments continue to promote mass immigration from the Third World, the latest polls show Europeans, like Americans, are overwhelmingly opposed — and public outrage is reaching a boiling point. Meanwhile, warnings that tens of millions of migrants are waiting to pour in are growing louder.
Under the new EU plan, agreed to this week, “secure centers” for migrants would be set up across the EU to process asylum claims of those who arrive. That is supposed to be a “victory” because previously, migrants would generally be released into the country while their cases were considered. If the decision on their application was negative or uncertain, the migrants would simply disappear rather than face deportation. The exact same phenomenon occurs in the United States, where the overwhelming majority of migrants released pending their hearing simply never show up in court. A Department of Homeland Security report from 2015 said 84 percent of migrants with children did not appear in court for their final decision.
Also part of the new EU plan will be to work more closely with African governments — especially the regime in Libya, a nation destroyed by the globalist warmongers in D.C. and Brussels posing as humanitarians — to supposedly help stem the tide. And it vows to work with the globalist African Union, an artificial construct funded by the EU, the U.S. government, and the mass-murdering Communist Chinese dictatorship to rule over Africans. “Tackling the migration problem at its core requires a partnership with Africa aiming at a substantial socio-economic transformation of the African continent building upon the principles and objectives as defined by the African countries in their Agenda 2063,” says the EU deal, referring to a globalist central plan to be imposed on Africans over the next half-century by the foreign-funded AU.
Basically, EU taxpayers will be funding a massive plot to put Africans under the jackboot of an EU-style regime that will indoctrinate children, promote abortion, mandate feminism, and much more. “Particular focus should be laid on education, health, infrastructure, innovation, good governance and women’s empowerment,” the EU agreement says, as if EU globalists knew what was best for Africans or anyone else. “Cooperation between the European Union and the African Union is an important element of our relationship. The European Council calls for further developing and promoting it.” The New American has exposed the African Union, its foreign backers, and its real agenda in a series of articles. Basically, like the EU and similar structures emerging worldwide, it is a regional building block on the road to what globalists call the “New World Order.”
Beyond “transforming” Africa with globalism and social engineering, part of the deal calls for the EU to “explore the concept” of what it describes as “regional disembarkation platforms.” Because migrants picked up at sea are still being dropped off in Europe, where they often disappear to avoid the law, there is a huge incentive for them to make the journey. Under the proposed “regional disembarkation platforms” scheme, those picked up at sea would instead be processed in centers based in Africa, Turkey, or elsewhere, where a determination would be made about whether they could come to Europe. While the establishment press reported this part of the plan as done deal, the agreement simply calls for it to be “explored.” In other words, the mass influx will continue, media deception notwithstanding.
The agreement goes on to say that “irregular migrants,” whatever that means, would be denied access to Europe. But those “in need of international protection” would be sent to Europe and resettled at taxpayer expense. Of course, everybody knows that the migrants in the centers will deny being “irregular migrants” and will instead claim to be in need of international protection. For some, that may well be true. But as has been well documented even by governments involved, there have been concerted efforts by pro-open borders groups to coach migrants on what to say to obtain asylum. For instance, for many governments, simply claiming to be a homosexual will secure entry. Many migrants also simply throw their passports and identification away and make up a story to help them qualify.
Another key part of the deal was a concession to the governments that have been most adamant about not accepting mass migration: Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and others. While the EU was trying to force them all to accept “quotas” of migrants at proverbial gunpoint, the so-called Visegrad group of nations said that was completely off the table and unacceptable. Under the new plan, all resettlement will be of a “voluntary” nature, and no government will be coerced into accepting migrants against the will of those it represents. That alone was a major blow to the hopes of billionaire open-borders zealot and anti-Christian fanatic George Soros, a Rothschild protege and a key driver of the mass-migration agenda who has been waging a propaganda war against Hungarian leader Viktor Orban and others. Among other concerns, Orban says the orchestrated mass-migration of Muslims into Europe is a plot by a “treasonous conspiracy” to destroy Christianity and nation-states.
Yet another major development in the newly agreed upon scheme was the practical dismantling of the so-called “Dublin Regulation.” In essence, the rule mandates that refugees and those claiming to be refugees be processed and absorbed by the first EU nation that they enter. The plan calls for it to be “reformed,” but the details have not yet been worked out. That was a sticking point because the vast majority of migrants arriving via the Mediterranean have been landing in Italy and Greece, with both countries being overwhelmed and swamped by the incoming tsunami. Under the new plan, other governments are supposed to help ease that burden.
The new EU scheme also promotes globalism by further solidifying EU control over migration and super-sizing EU agencies, including a plan to “bolster European defense.” Also benefiting will be FRONTEX, the EU “border” agency that has failed miserably, leaving countries such as Hungary to fend for themselves as EU globalists shriek about the Hungarian government’s efforts to actually secure the border. The agreement also calls for a “new Common European Asylum System,” which will usurp power over national decisions on immigration. So while some governments and journalists were duped into believing this deal would rein in mass migration, the EU will eventually flood nations simply by virtue of being able to decide who is and is not a “refugee.”
Statism combined with globalism is also infused throughout the EU deal. For instance, the agreement called for the superstate to work on improving censorship of “content that incites hatred,” which includes criticism of Islam, homosexuality, mass migration, gender confusion, and much else. And the deal demands that the fight against “tax avoidance,” which is legal and desirable, be “vigorously pursued at global level.” Just to be perfectly clear about its globalist agenda, the EU Council agreed that it was important for the EU to work on “preserving and deepening the rules-based multilateral system.” The “rules-based multilateral system” is also known as “global governance,” the architecture being imposed on humanity to shatter self-government and national sovereignty.
Despite the tough-sounding rhetoric about controlling external borders and stopping illegal immigration in the European Council’s agreement, even if fully enforced, the deal will solidify the trends. Consider: Even if the borders were sealed totally now, with millions of new Islamic migrants just from recent years already residing on the continent, they will soon be able to sponsor their families, who will then be able to sponsor still more immigration. Plus, with Muslim families having far more children than the mostly secular, hedonistic Europeans indoctrinated with bogus concerns about “global warming,” London and Frankfurt will not be the last major European cities in which natives become a minority. London already has a Muslim mayor, too, and he appears far more interested in arresting critics of Islam than those responsible for surging violence and murder rates.
In Sweden, Kurdish-Iranian immigrant and prominent economist Tino Sanandaji estimated in 2016 that, if current trends continued, Swedes would be a minority in their own nation within 15 years. In the nation’s third-largest city, that has already happened. “This is an irreversible social experiment that no wealthy state has ever attempted,” he explained, calling the results of the Swedish government’s immigration policy “quite disastrous.” The existing welfare state, which is already creaking, will never be able to survive the pressures, he added. And other European nations are not far behind. But as that happens, the public is fighting back, with a plurality even among liberal Swedes now telling pollsters that the staunchly anti-immigration Sweden Democrats is their favored party ahead of upcoming elections.
Considering the globalist agenda infused throughout the agreement, it was hardly a surprise that leading EU globalists celebrated it. “A complete approach was adopted,” boasted globalist French President Emmanuel Macron, a former Rothschild banker and committed advocate of surrendering his nation’s sovereignty and self-government to regional and global institutions. “We are protecting better. We are cooperating more. And we are reaffirming our principles. All hastily-made solutions, be they solely national ones or a betrayal of our values that consists in pushing people off to third countries, were clearly set aside.” The new “anti-establishment” leaders of Italy also celebrated the deal, claiming it at least helps spread the burden around.
Reaching some sort of deal was seen as critical by EU leaders. In Germany, the government of “former” East German Communist Party propagandist Angela Merkel, who invited millions of African and Middle Eastern Muslims into Germany at taxpayer expense in recent years, is on the verge of collapse. Interior Minister Horst Seehofer, part of Merkel’s own coalition, threatened that without a deal reached by this weekend, he would start turning migrants away. In Italy, meanwhile, which has borne the brunt of the mass migration of recent years, the new anti-establishment government has vowed to deport 500,000 migrants and stand up to the EU. Greek authorities are also on the brink as migrants flood into their nation.
Even top globalists running the EU superstate have warned that it is cracking up amid the migrant influx. “The fragility of the EU is increasing,” said unelected EU Commission boss Jean-Claude Juncker. “The cracks are growing in size.” Part of the reason for that is that the so-called “free movement of people” principle is in danger of breaking down, as European nations threaten to restore border controls to avoid having their cultures and civilizations swept away. Across Europe, stopping the influx of Third World migrants is at the top of voters’ concerns. Despite the fringe views pushed by the media and the political establishment, the overwhelming majority of Europeans oppose more immigration from outside Europe — and especially more Islamic immigration. According to a survey of Europeans by the Nezopont Institute, three fourths of those polled said migration from outside the continent was “not good.” Two thirds of respondents also said Europe’s Christian culture must be preserved.
Throughout the negotiations, the Soros-funded voices seeking to flood Europe with migrants from alien cultures and religions were trying their best to pressure the EU and nations to open the gates even wider. Some fringe groups and propagandists have even started blaming Brussels for the deaths of illegal immigrants in the Mediterranean Sea. For reasons that are never made clear, European governments’ refusal to accept totally open borders is being cited as the cause of just about everything bad and awful in the world. Adding to the confusion, the establishment media painted the deal as a “fundamental shift in the continent’s traditionally liberal migrant policy,” as theWall Street Journal put it. That is simply dishonest propaganda. The reality is that this agreement changes little, while ensuring that globalism and mass migration will continue.

VIGILANCE & SEPARATION IN THE INTERNET AGE

Vigilance and Separation in the

The following is excerpted from The Mobile Phone and the Christian Home and Church.
“Neither give place to the devil” (Eph. 4:27).

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them” (Eph. 5:11).

“See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise” (Eph.5:15).
“But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God” (Eph. 5:3-5).
Even if you are saved and love the Lord and are studying the Bible and seeking His will, there are still powerful enemies within and without, and victory requires keen vigilance and strict separation. David, the “sweet Psalmist of Israel,” was a passionate seeker of God, but we know what happened to him when he ceased being vigilant.

The things of the world can choke the Word in the believer’s life so that he doesn’t bear spiritual fruit (Mk. 4:19; Lk. 8:14). Jeremiah warned about sowing among thorns (Jer. 4:3). This refers to trying to serve the Lord without separating from sin, which is exactly what multitudes of professing Christians are doing in fundamental Baptist churches. Their daily lives are filled with worldly lusts and pleasures by the definition of 1 John 2:15-16, but they profess Christ and attend church and perhaps even read the Bible and pray. This was the condition of Israel of old. “.. this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart from me…” (Isa. 29:13). It is not possible to love God and also to love the wicked world. To love the wicked things of the world is to be the enemy of God (Jam. 4:4).

Young people who want to know and do God’s will must separate from the world.

Note the strictness of biblical separation: “all uncleanness” (Eph. 5:3), “no fellowship” (Eph. 5:11).
Separation from the world is strongly emphasized throughout Scripture. See Deuteronomy 7:26; Psalm 101:3; Proverbs 4:14-15, 23-27; 6:25-26; 7:6-10; Romans 12:1-2; 1 Corinthians 15:33; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; 1 Peter 5:8; James 4:4; 1 John 2:15-17.
Remove temptations from your phone.
– Examples are wrong music, wrong apps, even the web browser if necessary.
– One young man says: “Before I got saved, I listened to rock music, copying it to my memory cards. After I get saved, for some time I couldn’t delete the songs. I used to say that I would be able not to listen to them, but I was easily tempted to listen to the things that were already in my phone. I was making provision for the flesh while promising not to fulfil the lusts thereof (Rom. 13:14). So one day I decided to delete them totally from my memory card and from my computer too. I thank the Lord, I have never regretted that decision.”
Use a web browser filter like CleanInternet.
Have an accountability partner.
– Some use Covenant Eyes for accountability. It monitors the individual’s Internet usage and emails reports to selected people for accountability. The accountability report lists web sites visited, Internet searches, and the times of day when the Internet is used. It also features a score that ranks the individual’s level of objectionable Internet usage. Covenant Eyes also has a filtering service that can be used in combination with the accountability service. Another service of this type is X3 Watch. It provides accountability on computers, cell phones, and tablets. While I have not used this personally, it has been recommended by friends.
– Others use a church leader or mature Christian friend as an accountability partner. One single young adult wrote: “I have a friend in Bible college who has the restriction codes to my phone. I cannot access the App Store, I cannot access the browser. I personally deleted every game I had off the phone, deleted Facebook and anything else that I felt ‘drawing’ my mind away in ways that I thought were a hindrance to my walk with God. A great example of this is FoxNews. The App shows a lot of news, to be sure. The space directly below it has a lot of entertainment news, which was basically nothing but soft porn. I got sick and tired of seeing this and deleted that app as well. If SnapChat or other items are a hindrance, the partner can block those as well by restricting it. Remember that browsers can be downloaded through the App Store, so even if Safari or the base browser is blocked, there are ways around it.”

SOME OF THE GREATEST DANGERS
Videos

YouTube, music videos, X-rated movies, parents used to keep MTV out of the home, but now MTV and much worse is on the kids’ phones!
Pop music
29 of the 30 most popular YouTube videos in 2015 are music videos, and most are filthy. The total views of the 29 videos is 26 BILLION!

Psy “Gangnam Style” (2.3 billion views)
Justin Bieber “Baby” (1.2 billion)
Katy Perry “Dark Horse” (1 billion)
Taylor Swift “Blank Space” (1 billion)
LMFAO “Party Rock Anthem” (906 million)
Eminem “Love the Way You Lie” (896 million)
Shakira “Waka Waka” (889 million)
Jennifer Lopez “On the Floor” (846 million)
Miley Cyrus “Wrecking Ball” (784 million)

Rock is intimately associated with illicit sex and always has been. Even a mere glance at iTunes proves this. The covers of the albums and the lyrics are filthy, and a child of God seeking purity will not touch the unclean thing (2 Cor. 6:17).

Consider the following testimonies by rock & rollers:
“That’s what rock is all about–sex with a 100 megaton bomb, THE BEAT!” (Gene Simmons of the rock group KISS, interview,Entertainment Tonight, ABC, Dec. 10, 1987).
“Rock ‘n’ roll is 99%
sex” (John Oates of the rock duo Hall & Oates,Circus, Jan. 31, 1976).
“Rock ‘n’ roll is pagan and primitive, and very jungle, and that’s how it should be! … the true meaning of rock … is sex, subversion and style” (Malcolm McLaren, punk rock manager,
Rock, August 1983, p. 60).
“The THROBBING BEAT of rock provides a vital sexual release for adolescent audiences” (Jan Berry of Jan and Dean, cited by Ken Blanchard,
Pop Goes the Gospel).
“The great strength of rock ‘n’ roll lies in ITS BEAT … it is a music which is basically
sexual, un-Puritan … and a threat to established patterns and values” (Irwin Silber, Marxist, Sing Out, May 1965).
“Everyone takes it for granted that rock and roll is synonymous with sex” (Chris Stein, lead guitarist for Blondie,
People, May 21, 1979).
“Rock and roll is fun, it’s full of energy … It’s
naughty” (Tina Turner, cited in Rock Facts, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum).
“Pop music revolves around sexuality. I believe that if there is anarchy, let’s make it sexual anarchy rather than political” (Adam Ant,
From Rock to Rock, p. 93).“The sex is definitely in the music, and sex is in ALL ASPECTS in the music” (Luke Campbell of 2 Live Crew).
Pop music and rap will steal your heart for the world. At best you will have a divided heart.

Pastor Dave Sorenson tells how that as a teen his heart was captured by rock music that he listened to in his bedroom via a transistor radio that his pastor father let him have.

I was captured by rock music via 45-rpm records at a friend’s garage. He was a deacon’s son.
Video Games
“See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord
is” (Eph. 5:15-17).
Video games are very addictive and they are great time wasters. Also many of them have very wicked content. Even the more innocent games use rock music as a background, thus addicting young people to the sensual rock rhythms.

If young people are allowed to play video games, they must be carefully chosen and the play time must be strictly limited by the parents.
Video games and addiction

“The more we looked into it the more we found that gaming was taking over the lives of kids.”

“Some studies suggest that gaming is absolutely taking over the minds of children all together.”

“Virtual life becomes more appealing than real life.”

Beware of role playing games. Nothing takes over young people’s hearts and minds more than these. They are called MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing games).

The most addictive games in 2015 are the following: Madden, Dota 2, Grand Theft Auto, Tetris, Candy Crush Saga (the company is valued at $7.5 billion), Minecraft, EverQuest (called “never rest” and “ever crack”), The Sims (player has omnipotent control over people), World of Warcraft (called World of War Crack), Call of Duty (the last two are played by more than 100 million players), Halo 3 (called Halodiction), Total War, Pong, Civilization, Diablo 3, Super Meat Boy, Team Fortress 2, Dark Souls 2, Counter Strike, Starcraft 2, Persona 4 Golden, Monster Hunter 3, Elder Scrolls, Angry Birds, Faster Than Light, Peggle, League of Legends, Civilization V, Pokemon.

Even in remote places like Nepal, gaming competition is becoming popular. A report on Nepali gamers in the Kathmandu Post (Aug. 29, 2015) was entitled “By Their Bootstraps.” Gaming started in Nepal in internet cafes in 2010. The 2015 Colors E-sports Carnival at the Civil Mall had 500 participants competing at Defense of the Ancients (DOTA), a multi-online battle game.
Video games and violence
Beware of violent games. One of the most popular is
Grand Theft Auto. Players assume the role of lawless, destructive criminals who kill innocent bystanders, policemen, and military personnel, “while dealing with only temporary consequences.” It has been called a cop-killing training machine. Some of the versions require the player to torture people in brutal ways to advance to new levels. Sexual elements include hiring and killing prostitutes (by means of the player’s choice of fist, machete, bat, or gun). Real life murders have been committed by people who were obsessive players of Grand Theft Auto and have even admitted to being inspired by the game.
Video games and the occult
Many of the video games are occultic. Consider the current craze,
Pokémon Go. Almost overnight it has become the most popular mobile game in American history, increasing the stock market value of part owner Nintendo more than 50%. “Pokémon Go, the newest iteration of the nearly 20-year-old Pokémon franchise, engages players in an ‘augmented reality’ where they try to find and capture Pokémons hidden throughout the real world. The Australian Business Review has suggested that it may be a ‘watershed moment’ in the development of virtual reality” (“Pokémon Go craze drawing gamers to church,” Baptist Press News, July 15, 2016). The game “uses the mobile phone’s camera to create the perception that the Pokémon characters are actually in front of the players.” It is so engaging and addictive that people have crashed their automobiles and walked into dangerous situations. Two men recently fell off a cliff near San Diego while engaged in the game.
Pastor David Brown, First Baptist Church of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, who made the effort to investigate Pokémon and apply the test of God’s Word to it in 1999, says, “The name Pokémon is derived from POCKEt MONster. … One of the first things I did was to find out who produced the Trading Card Game. Here is an exact quote right from the Web page of the producer – ‘The Pokémon Trading Card Game is a new collectable Card Game that is made and distributed by Wizards of the Coast. The same company that made the best-selling game … Magic: The Gathering.’ Wizards of the Coast also owns TSR, the producers ofDungeons & Dragons. When I discovered who owned the AmericanPokémon Trading Card Game rights, I knew it was not just an innocent card game for elementary school children. [The Pokémon rap mantra says]: ‘I will travel across the land/ Searching far and wide/ EachPokémon to understand/ The power that’s inside/ Gotta catch them all.’ … To be sure it is a game, but a game that does not glorify God! When God says something is wrong, it is wrong regardless of what form it is in. Not only that, but many of the kids who play this game are seduced into believing the principles that the game subtly teaches” (Dave Brown, “The Problem with Pokémon”).

In the official literature, the main characters of the game are described as headstrong, stubborn, quibbling, hormonal, having a fascination with and trying to “score” with the opposite sex, self-centered, vindictive, obnoxious, and prone to cross-dressing!
Pokémon promotes the search for occultic power. The cards are called “energy cards.” Players engage in “pretend” occultic warfare. Currently there are 729 species of Pokémon monsters, and 151 of them are sought by Pokémon Go players. Two of them are named Abra and Kadabra, long associated with magic. The Abra card promotes the ability to read minds. The Kadabra character has a pentagram on his forehead. What an incredibly dangerous, wicked influence for children! Nintendolife says there are poison types, psychic types, dark types, fairy types, dragon types, and ghost types.
There is nothing innocent about Pokémon. It is a clever attempt at demonic mind-control. For more about the dangers of Pokémon see “The Problem with Pokémon” by David Brown,http://logosresourcepages.org/Occult/more.htm

Even the more innocent games use rock music as a background, thus addicting young people to the sensual rock rhythms.
Video games and wasting time
“How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man” (Prov. 6:9-11).
The average gamer spends eight hours per week playing video games. This equates to 416 hours per year.

Last year, a teen told me he wanted to learn to study the Bible on his phone, but when I asked to look at his phone, I found that it was filled with games. I challenged him to get rid of them and to spend that time on Bible study and other profitable things. I told him that until he was willing to put aside wasteful things, he wouldn’t make much progress in his spiritual life.

One young Christian lady we know became concerned about how much time she was spending on video games, and she decided to figure it up. She concluded that she was spending three months out of a year playing games! She deleted the games from her iPad and is spending that time memorizing Scripture and other profitable things.

Young people who want to find God’s will must learn to be careful about time. “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:16). We deal with this in the section of the course on “The Youth.”
Pornography
“But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart” (Mat. 5:28).

“I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?” (Job 31:1).

“For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids. For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life. Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?” (Prov. 6:23-28).

“Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth. Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths. For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong menhave been slain by her. Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death” (Prov. 7:24-27).
Consider some frightful facts about pornography and the Internet:

Pornography makes up nearly 40% of the total content on the Internet.
Nearly 25% of Internet search queries are about pornography.
Over 50% of boys and over 30% of girls first viewed pornography before age 13.
A study in the UK in 2013 found that 50% of 18-year-olds have received nude pictures.
Nearly 70% of boys and a majority of girls have seen homosexual acts online.
Nearly 70% of young adult men and about 20% of young adult women view pornography at least once a week.
About 55% of divorce cases involve one party having an obsessive interest in pornographic websites.

The man is visually oriented in his sexuality, which is why the Bible repeatedly warns of the man’s lust of the woman’s body (Job 31:1; Prov.6:25; Mat. 5:28). Women are not naturally inclined to be so visual in their sexuality, though they can become perverted as is happening today.

The heart is a bottomless pit of evil, and pornography will carry the heart deeper and deeper into filth and perversion (Jer. 17:9).

This terrible process is described in Romans 1:21-30. Note that it begins with what is happening with the “imagination” and “heart” (verse 21) and ends with the corrupt of the “reprobate mind” (verse 28).

The only victory is complete abstinence. It requires making a covenant with one’s eyes as Job did (Job 31:1).

Young people (and old) must remember that pornography will do the following and more:

– It will enslave you.
– It has the power to carry you into ever deeper and unspeakable regions of moral filth.
– It will pervert your way of looking at women and hinder your ability to have proper relationships.
– If you are single, it will ruin your chance for a truly pure marriage.
– If you are married, it will harm or even destroy your marriage.
– It will hurt your children.
– It will hurt your testimony and result in shame and disgrace.
Sexting
Sending sexy pictures of oneself by text messaging is hugely popular.

A study in the UK in 2013 found that 50% of 18-year-olds have received nude pictures.

Studies have found that many young people consider sexting mere entertainment.
“As a criminal lawyer, I can tell you that teens (and sometimes even younger children) use the picture taking capacity of most cell phones to take and communicate vile images of themselves. The possibilities for harm are virtually endless. This is not a minor matter. … I don’t think this particular danger can be overestimated.”
Snapchat is often used for this purpose. It is used by 60% of smartphone users ages 13-34. It is used to send a photo, video, or drawing that disappears in 1-10 seconds (user determined). The messages are called “snaps” and over a billion are sent daily. “It is popular for ‘teasing/sexting’ as teens think the pic cannot be saved. But all one has to do is take a screenshot or even a picture of the photo with another phone.” There are also unofficial apps and web tools that override snapchat’s deleting function. The FBI has warned that Snapchat is being used by pedophiles to lure young victims. Snapchat can also be used for video chatting.
Conversations with the wrong people
“Girls need to know that boys should not be any part of their lives until they are old enough to marry. Fathers need to keep their daughters’ hearts until they love Christ with all of it.”
Many of the people who wrote to us on this subject shared horror stories of girls who have been enticed away from their families by men they met either by phone or texting or Facebook.

This happened to a girl in our church about three years ago. A young man started calling her on her cell phone, and at first she said that she didn’t want to hear from him. Her parents and church leaders warned her against talking with him, but she refused to listen. Eventually they ran away together out of wedlock.

A girl recently told my wife her sad story. A man started calling her and wooing her. He told her that he had passed high school, had a good job, and didn’t drink. Finally she ran away with him and quickly learned that he was lying about everything. He eventually left her for another woman. With a broken heart she said to my wife, “I shamed my parents; they don’t want me back; I ruined my life.”

A pastor friend told me about a girl who got a SIM card from another person. An unknown male called that number and started talking to her. She unwisely continued conversing with him on the phone. When she resisted, the guy threatened to commit suicide if she didn’t marry him, and eventually she eloped with him.

Don’t talk on the phone or Facebook, etc., with a young person of the opposite sex except relatives. Creeps are using social media to trap unsuspecting victims.

Don’t make plans to meet the wrong people.

Don’t hide anything you are doing from your parents and church leaders. God has given them for your protection.
