Bart Barber is the pastor at FBC Farmersville and serves as a research fellow on the 
Democratic Wing of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Ethics and Religious Liberty 
Commission (ERLC). 
Run by a former Democratic staffer, Russell Moore, the organization works in tandem with George Soros on open borders and amnesty-centered immigration, lobbied for a Mosque to be built in New Jersey, has largely abandoned the fight against abortion, and exists to attack conservative Republican candidates for office while bilking Southern Baptists in the charade that they’re fighting for a conservative worldview. Instead, the ERLC is hosting Obama campaign staffers who created the blueprints for the Democrat Party’s takeover of the SBC.



The ERLC relies upon its lesser-known research fellows to serve as attack-dogs against conservative Republicans, which is well-documented. These men, like Barber, are lackeys and useful idiots who help to push the ERLC’s radical leftist agenda inside their churches.



Over the weekend, Barber hosted a radical Democrat leftist, feminist, and charismatic at his church, using the church’s stage as a podcast studio for Barber’s upcoming podcast debut that will be called the Plowshare Podcast.







How interesting and fun! Last night’s podcast recording with William Dwight McKissic Sr. was inspirational and informative. When it publishes, some aspects of the evening may surprise you.



Dwight McKissic is a Jessie Jackson-level race-baiter who uses his position as a token spokesman for progressives in the SBC to drive the convention to the left. McKissic proudly voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016, a rabidly pro-choice politician who believes in elective abortion up to the point of birth. McKissic, a tongue-speaking charismatic, resigned from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2007 over the matter of speaking ecstatic gobbledegook nonsense. Recently, McKissic lashed out at former president of SWBTS, Paige Patterson, accusing him of “racism” when, in fact, he was celebrating the hire of the SBC’s first black president (but that’s what race-baiters do). Then McKissic accused FBC Naples of “racism” because they didn’t hire a woefully unqualified (and liberal) black man. He attacked Founders Ministries for “sowing discord” for speaking up against the Social Gospel.



McKissic claims that it’s possible to vote for Democrats and still be pro-life. Like the ERLC, McKissic redefines what it means to be “pro-life” to support his baby-murdering political party.







McKissic is an egalitarian feminist and denounces the traditional Southern Baptist position on women preachers, debating Tom Ascol on the subject in 2019 and held to a radical position. In fact, McKissic likened SBC treatment toward women to the antebellum treatment of slaves. He’s repudiated esteemed revivalist preachers, George Whitefield and Jonathan Edwards, on the grounds that they were “racist,” questioning whether or not they were Heaven. At the same time, McKissic has venerated the homosexual sex-trafficking heretic, Martin Luther King, who denied the deity of Christ and his resurrection.



McKissic received an award from the hyper-charismatic New Apostolic Reformation organization, the Asuza Street Mission. Only the most outrageous charismatics get that award (other recipients include TD Jakes, Myles Munroe, and Lou Engle).



McKissic is notoriously anti-law enforcement and regularly attacks the reputations of police officers (and has cited Bart Barber as early as 2014 as a compatriot in his racist worldview). McKissic took part in the horrible anti-cop Ferguson riots. In fact, McKissic claims that “racial profiling exists in the SBC.” To counter this, McKissic demands affirmative action hiring in the SBC.



In defense of his choice to violate 2 John 1:10, Barber claimed that McKissic was “differently complementarian.”



This double-speak term is like saying that Karen Swallow Prior is “differently conservative.” McKissic believes that women should be performing pastoral functions, including preaching to men in the gathered assembly. He quibbles on the point of senior pastors (for now), which makes no matter of difference. He’s a functional egalitarian, not merely “differently complementarian.”



If you can’t see the doctrinal compromise in Bart Barber, you aren’t paying attention.



Bart Barber’s congregation, Farmersville First Baptist, is no doubt trusting of Barber, who has served them twenty years. Little do they know that their pastor is associated heavily with the most vehemently leftist, unbiblical, compromised change-agents in the Southern Baptist Convention. Little do they know that Barber is treating them like guinea pigs, slowly but surely putting them through leftist experimentation and, like the proverbial frog in a pot of boiling water, is changing his and their own beliefs so slowly and subtly they do not see it.



The Bible does not tell us to “dialogue” with rank heretics and God-haters but to mark them and avoid them Romans 16:17. To bring one into the assembly, as Barber did, is a dereliction of his duty as a shepherd of God’s flock.



It’s never good to introduce your congregation to a wolf in the guise of only hearing them out.

This is a particularly concerning time to have a man such as the advisor to the Egyptian mufti Dr. Ibrhaim Negm in America; he’ll be speaking at universities, which are notorious for harboring Muslim Brotherhood offshoots such as the Muslim Students Associations and Palestinian Solidarity Networks. Negm will be perpetuating the “Islamophobia” subterfuge.



Negm is participating “in week-long activities meant to shed light on Islam.” Shedding “light” on Islam by Negm means leaving out the 1,400-year violent jihad component and spreading propaganda. For example, these are the views of Negm concerning the Palestinian jihad, which has not only affected Israelis and Jews everywhere, and tars anyone who supports Zionism as enemies and “racists.”



The Secretary General of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Dr. Ibrahim Negm, vehemently condemned the continued violations and atrocities committed by the Israeli occupation forces against unarmed Palestinians and their prevention from performing prayers inside Al-Aqsa Mosque.



Dr. Negm stated that the occupation forces must immediately end their provocative actions that are an affront to religious figures and the sacred sites in Jerusalem. “Such violations and provocations might lead to regional religious-based conflicts, undermining all efforts exerted to reach a comprehensive and just regional peace on a two-state solution,” Dr. Negm added.



The Palestinian chant “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free” signifies the total destruction of Israel, as is called for in the PLO and Hamas charters, and Negm knows this. Supporters of the Palestinian jihad do not call for an end to this goal of obliterating Israel because they support it themselves.



When Trump declared Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, Negm “vehemently condemned” the action. “According to Dr. Negm, these actions enhance judaization of the occupied Jerusalem and transform its Arab-Islamic identity.”

President Trump is planning to divert an additional $7.2 billion from Department of Defense programs to pay for the wall on the United States’ southern border. Approximately half of that amount will come from military counter-drug enforcement, and the remainder from DOD construction projects to be used for additional border fencing projects.



The Washington Post reported on January 13 that the funding would give the government enough money to complete about 885 miles of new fencing by spring 2022, which is considerably more than the 509 miles the administration has slated for the U.S.-Mexican border. 



Building the border wall was one of Trump’s most important campaign promises in 2016, but securing funding to build the wall from the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives has presented him with a formidable roadblock.



Using the limited amount of funding Congress was willing to authorize, the administration has managed to start construction on small sections of the wall.



In December 2018, Trump shut down part of the government for 35 days after he refused to sign a bipartisan spending bill to fund the government in 2019 because it did not include $5.7 billion in funding for the wall. Finally, Congress compromised to give the president $1.375 billion for “existing technologies,” such as the current fencing at the southern border. 



After that standoff with Congress, in February 2019, Trump declared a national emergency (10 U.S.C. 2808 (a)) under the National Emergencies Act to unlock billions of dollars in federal funds to use to build a wall. The National Emergencies Act, enacted in 1976, empowers the president to activate special powers during a crisis. It identifies and defines 136 such emergency powers, which are tracked by the Brennan Center for Justice, among others.



An article in Vox on January 14 explored the question of which existing laws Trump might cite to access funding for the wall under his emergency declaration. The report quoted Kim Lane Scheppele, a professor at the Center for Human Values at Princeton University, who said, “It could be that by putting together a lot of different sources of emergency authority, the president could tap a lot of different funds and at least start [funding the wall]”



Scheppele named several preexisting laws the president could potentially use:



He could, for example, reallocate military spending on construction projects for the wall. One law allows the defense secretary, after a national emergency declaration, to direct the army’s civil works program to construct a structure needed for national defense and use the military budget to do it. Another lets the secretary direct other military services for construction projects. 



It appears that the president is utilizing one or more of these options.



The decision to divert funds was not met with unanimous enthusiasm, even from some Republican senators who support building of the wall.



Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas) called Trump’s reported plan an “unfortunate outcome,” but he blamed Democrats for their unwillingness to meet the president’s requests to fund the border wall.



“I wish it wasn’t necessary,” Cornyn said. “The problem is, Congress has failed to appropriate adequate funds for border security, which is the reason his hand was forced.”

APPLE NOT COOPERATING TO UNLOCK PHONES CARRIED BY SHOOTER
The United States is removing nearly two dozen Saudi military students from a training program and sending them back to Saudi Arabia following after an investigation into a deadly shooting by a Saudi aviation student at a Florida navy base last month, Attorney General William Barr said Monday.

Many of the 21 cadets had contact with child pornography and possessed jihadist or anti-American material, Barr said. None is accused of having advanced knowledge of the shooting, which Barr said was motivated by “jihadist ideology” and has been classified as an act of terrorism.

The 21-year-old Saudi Air Force officer, 2nd Lt. Mohammed Alshamrani, opened fire at the base in Pensacola, killing three U.S. sailors and injuring eight other people. The Justice Department has been investigating the incident as an act of terrorism.

Officials have said Alshamrani hosted a party before the shooting, where he and others watched videos of mass shootings. The gunman had also apparently taken to Twitter before the shooting to criticize U.S. support of Israel and accuse America of being anti-Muslim, another U.S. official told the AP last month.

Alshamrani, who was killed by a sheriff’s deputy during the rampage at a classroom building, was undergoing flight training at Pensacola, where foreign military members routinely receive instruction.

It was not immediately clear on what grounds the students were being removed from the program, though the official said they were not suspected of having played any role in the attack. The precise number of students being removed was also not clear. The officials discussing the case spoke on the condition of anonymity to speak about details involved in an ongoing investigation.

The plan to remove the students was first reported by CNN.

The December shooting raised questions about how well international military students are screened before they attend training at American bases. Some lawmakers, including a top Republican ally of President Donald Trump, have called for Saudi Arabia to be suspended from an American military training program.

Trump called for the program to be reviewed. But Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said the program needed to be reevaluated after the attack.

A Saudi commanding officer had ordered all students from the country to remain at one location at the base after the attack.

National security adviser Robert O’Brien said in an interview on Fox News that the shooting “showed that there had been errors in the way that we vetted” the students. The actions being taken by the Justice Department and Defense Department to remove the Saudi students are to “protect our servicemen and women,” he said.

Federal officials are still investigating the shooting and examining evidence. Earlier this week, the FBI asked Apple to help extract data from two iPhones that belonged to the gunman.

Investigators have been trying to access the two devices — an iPhone 7 and an iPhone 5 — but have been unable to access them because the phones are locked and encrypted, according to a letter from the FBI’s general counsel, Dana Boente. The FBI has received a court authorization to search the phones and the devices have been sent to the bureau’s lab in Quantico, Virginia, he said.

The investigation is considered a “high-priority national security matter,” Boente said in the letter.

FBI officials have sought help from other federal agencies and other experts, and investigators have been trying to guess the passwords, but those efforts have been unsuccessful, according to the letter.

Apple said in a statement that it has already provided investigators with all the relevant data held by the company and would continue to support the investigators.

At least one of the phones was shot by a sheriff’s deputy during the attack, but investigators believe they may still be able to extract data from the device, according to a person familiar with the matter. The person spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.

New undercover video from Project Veritas shows Bernie Sanders Field Organizer Kyle Jurek defending the efficacy of Soviet Union gulags and bragging that the Sanders campaign is embedded with many more “anarcho-communists” like him.



The new video, part of PV’s continued #Expose2020 series, continues to follow Jurek, a paid Sanders Iowa staffer, as he explains his radical far-left philosophy of exterminating conservatives, overthrowing law and order, and using Democrat campaigns as a vehicle to covertly introduce Marxism to the mainstream.



“I’m all aboard for gulags,” Jurek said. “Like, I feel there needs to be re-education for a significant portion of our society.”







“So that was the intention of gulags, right?” Jurek continues. “Not only to elim- like, remove, like people that were insidious to the state from the state. Like, and that’s what it has to be. Actually, gulags were a lot better than what the CIA has told us that they were.”



Jurek then reveals that Antifa and other violent far-left radical individuals are embedded in the Sanders campaign.



“In fact there, that I know of – one two three, one two three four – four of the organizers in this office are leftists of some degree, further than the Democratic Socialists,” Jurek said.



“I’m an anarcho-communist…I’m as far left as you can possibly get. There’s a lot of ‘me’s’ in the Bernie campaign.”



“There’s some [Antifa] here, a lot of them are probably on the Bernie campaign, but there is a DSA chapter here so like some of the DSA folks would probably, we’ve been looking for an action to like participate in…in regards to immigration and ICE, we’ve been looking for something to pop off so we can fucking pop right back off,” he added.



Jurek also explains that anyone who gets in the way of the far-left’s overthrow of the country will be systematically killed.



“We don’t f---ing want to have to like eliminate people, right?” Jurek said. “Like you can give them a choice, like hey, you can join the revolution, you can not be a bootlicker, you could sit idly by and allow it to happen, but if you’re going to take up arms against the revolution, then you should expect a violent response.”



In the first part of PV’s #Expose2020 series, Jurek warned that “fucking cities will burn” if Trump is re-elected, and that if Bernie becomes president, millions of conservatives will be sent to Soviet-style gulag prisons.



Notably, CNN didn’t ask Sanders a single question related to Jurek’s disturbing remarks from within his campaign, despite Owen Shroyer asking moderator Anderson Cooper if he’d consider bringing that up.

Numerous Iowa Bernie Sanders staffers are locking their Twitter accounts in response to the disturbing videos released by Project Veritas showing a Bernie field organizer calling for conservatives to be re-educated in Soviet-style gulags and calling for violent revolution.



“Iowa Bernie Sanders State Directors ALL LOCKING THEIR ACCOUNTS,” Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe tweeted Wednesday.




The names include Iowa Political Director Oliver Hidalgo-Wollheben, Rural Political Coordinator Chris Neubert, Iowa Political Coordinator Victoria Moon, Iowa Political Coordinator Abshir Omar, Iowa Regional Field Director Derek Menges, Regional Field Director Spencer Reed, Regional Field Director Vicente Cortez, Regional Field Director Jessica L. Burbank, and Communications Director Roger Ouellette.



The move comes after Project Veritas released two bombshell undercover videos showing Field Organizer Kyle Jurek warning of violent revolution, interning conservatives en masse in Soviet-style gulag prison camps, bragging about using Democrat campaigns to covertly usher in communist policies, and praising Joseph Stalin for eliminating political dissidents.





So far, Democrat presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has not disavowed Jurek’s remarks, or even acknowledged them.

Missing during the self-congratulatory handshaking that accompanied the signing of the Phase One trade deal on Wednesday was any mention that China remains one of the worst offenders of human rights in the world, if not in all of human history. It wouldn’t have been politic to bring up such a sordid subject. One wouldn’t want to spoil the mood. For the millions suffering from human-rights abuses and violations in China, the silence was deafening.
A week ago, the Congressional-Executive Commission on China issued its report on those abuses, stating that “the human rights and rule of law conditions in China continued to worsen this past year.” The 24-page report expounded and expanded on those abuses:
During its 2019 reporting year, the Congressional-Executive Commission on China (Commission) found that the human rights situation has worsened and the rule of law continued to deteriorate, as the Chinese government and Party increasingly used regulations and laws to assert social and political control.
The Chinese government continued its crackdown on “citizen journalists” who report on human rights violations, with mainstream Chinese journalists calling conditions in China an “era of total censorship.”
The abuse of criminal law and police power to target rights advocates, religious believers, and ethnic minority groups also continued unabated, and reporting on such abuses became increasingly restricted.
China‘s communist leaders have no compunction over controlling the behavior of their citizen/serfs by surveilling them and incarcerating potential troublemakers in concentration camps:
The Chinese government has become more efficient in the use of advanced technology and information to control and suppress the people of China.
Nowhere is this more of a concern than in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR), where the Commission believes Chinese authorities may be committing crimes against humanity against the Uyghur people and other Turkic Muslims.
Over the past year, Chinese authorities have expanded a system of extrajudicial mass internment camps in [Xinjiang]. Although the true number of detainees has not been publicly reported, experts estimate one million or more Uyghurs, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Hui, and others currently are or have been detained and subjected to abuse and forced labor in mass internment camps.
The report called for sanctions against Chinese officials, such as President Xi Jinping, who are responsible for these violations and concluded: “Rising authoritarianism in China is one of the most important challenges of the 21st century.… U.S. foreign policy must prioritize the promotion of universal human rights and the rule of law in China.”
There was not one word about this report or China’s abuses during Wednesday’s ceremonies. It just wouldn’t have been seemly.
When Ken Roth, executive director of Human Rights Watch (HRW), attempted to enter Hong Kong on January 12 to hold a press conference about its latest report, “China’s Global Threat to Human Rights,” he was denied entry. Said Roth, “I had hoped to spotlight Beijing’s deepening assault on international efforts to uphold human rights. The refusal to let me enter Hong Kong vividly illustrates the problem.”
The problem? The problem is that any dissent or attempted exposure of those abuses and violations will be met with sanctions. Just ask Daryl Morey, general manager of the Houston Rockets NBA team, who tweeted his support for Hong Kong protestors. On October 4 he tweeted: “Fight for freedom, stand with Hong Kong.”
The roof fell in on Morey. The Chinese Basketball Association suspended all cooperation with his team, while CCTV5, the sports channel of China’s top state forecaster, announced it would no longer air Rockets’ events on state television.
Right behind were Li-Ning Company (which makes sportswear) and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, which said they were severing relations with his team over his comments. Within days, all 11 all official Chinese business partners of the NBA suspended ties with the league
In a microcosm, what Morey experienced is the desired end result of China’s using every means at its disposal, including advanced technology and its insinuation into the communications culture of its enemy, to keep the truth about its abuses from being told.
That war against the truth has been waged by China for years. The result, said Human Rights Watch, is a “perfect storm” — a “powerful centralized state, a coterie of like-minded rulers, a void of leadership among countries that might have stood for human rights, and a disappointing collection of democracies willing to sell the rope that is strangling the system of rights that they purport to uphold.”
That would include the United States and the current administration. 
Written before the glad-handing and congratulatory lauding over the signing of Phase One that took place in Washington on Wednesday, HRW was blunt: “U.S. President Trump has been more interested in embracing friendly autocrats than [in] defending the human rights standards that they flout.”
In Washington on Wednesday, the silence over China’s egregious and accelerating human rights abuses was deafening. Silence is assent and the voices of those in agony were silenced instead.

Does Islam itself promote hostility for and violence against non-Muslims, or are all the difficulties between the West and Islam based on secondary factors—from “radical” interpretations of Islam, to economics and grievances?



This is the fundamental question.



Obviously, if “anti-infidel” hostility is inherent to Islam itself, then the conflict becomes existential—a true clash of civilizations, with no easy fixes and lots of ugly implications along the horizon.



Because of this truism, those whose job it is to whitewash Islam’s image in the West insist on the opposite—that all difficulties are temporal and not rooted to innate Islamic teachings.



Enter Shariah: What Everyone Needs to Know, co-authored by John Esposito and Natana J. Delong-Bas.  The authors’ goal is to exonerate Shariah, which they portray as enshrining “the common good (maslahah), human dignity, social justice, and the centrality of the community” from Western criticism or fear, which they say is based solely on “myth” and “sensationalism.”



In their introductory chapters they define Shariah as being built upon the words of the Koran and the Sunna (or example) of the Muslim prophet Muhammad as contained in sahih (canonical) hadiths.  They add: “Shariah and Islamic law are not the same thing.  The distinction between divine law (Shariah) and its human interpretation, application, and development (Islamic law) is important to keep in mind throughout this book…. Whereas Shariah is immutable and infallible, Islamic law (fiqh) is fallible and changeable.”



Next the authors highlight how important Shariah is to a majority of Muslims.  They cite a 2013 Pew Poll which found that  69% of Muslims in the Middle East and North Africa, 73% in South Asia, and 55% in Central Asia believe that “Shariah is God’s [Allah’s] divine revelation.”



Even larger numbers “favored the establishment of Shariah as official law”: 99% in Afghanistan, 84% in South Asia, 74% in the Middle East and North Africa, and 64% in sub-Saharan Africa.



So far so good.  The authors’ introductory claims (that Shariah is fundamental to Islam) and statistics (that hundreds of millions of Muslims revere and wish to see it implemented) are correct.



But they also beg the aforementioned question: is Shariah itself behind the intolerance, misogyny, violence, and terrorism committed in the name of Islam?



Here, the hitherto objective authors shift gears and take on the mantle of apologists. Their thesis is simple: Any and all negative activities Muslims engage in are to be pinned on anything and everything—so long as it’s not Shariah.



In order to support this otherwise unsupportable position, and as might be expected, the remainder of the book consists of obfuscation, dissembling, and lots and lots of contextual omissions and historical distortions.



A small sampling follows:



Shariah on Women



The authors quote and discuss at length many Koran verses about women that seem positive (Koran 30:21, 3:195, and 2:187), without alluding to counter verses that permit husbands to beat their wives (4:34) and treat them as “fields” to be “plowed however you wish” (2:223).  Nor do they deal with Muhammad’s assertions that women are “lacking in intelligence” and will form the bulk of hell’s denizens, as recounted in a canonical hadith.



They partially quote Koran 4:3: “…marry those that please you of other women, two or three or four. But if you fear that you will not be just, then marry only one.”  This suits the authors’ purpose, which is to present the Koran as implicitly recommending only one wife, since it acknowledges the near impossibility for a man to treat all wives equally.  Yet the authors deliberately cut off the continuation of that verse—which permits Muslim men to copulate with an unlimited amount of sex slaves (ma malakat aymanukum) even if they are married.



They also dissemble about child marriage, saying “classical Islamic law” permits it, but only when “the child reaches a mature age.”   Yet they make no mention that, based on Muhammad’s marriage to Aisha—that is, based on his Sunna, which is immutable and part of Shariah—nine is considered a “mature age.”



Freedom of Religion and Non-Muslims



The authors claim that “There are more than 100 Quranic verses that … affirm freedom of religion and conscience.”  They quote many at length and assert that “The guiding Shariah principle … underscored by Quran 3:28, 29:46, and 60:89, is that believers should treat unbelievers decently and equitably as long as the unbelievers do not behave aggressively.”



Yet they fail to mention or sideline the many contradictory verses that call for relentless war on non-Muslims—who are further likened to dumb cattle in Koran 25:44 —until they surrender, one way or another, to Islam (e.g., 8:39, 9:5, 9:29).



They fail to quote the verses that form the highly divisive doctrine of al-wala’ w’al bara’ (“Loyalty and Enmity”), including Koran 5:51, which forbids Muslims from befriending Jews and Christians, and Koran 60:4, which commands Muslims to harbor only “hate” for non-Muslims, until they “believe in Allah alone.”



Needless to say, they ignore Koran 3:28, which permits Muslims to feign friendship for non-Muslims, whenever the former are under the latter’s authority (such is the doctrine of taqiyya; see here, here, here, here, and here for examples).



It is, incidentally, because of all these divisive Koran verses—because of Shariah—that the Islamic State forthrightly explained, “We hate you, first and foremost, because you are disbelievers.”



The closest the authors get to address these issues is in a section titled, “Can Muslims in the West be Loyal Citizens.”  They respond with a yes—but the evidence they cite are polls (based on wishful interpretations), which of course tells the reader little about the topic they purport to “de-mythologize”: Shariah.



Jihad



As might be expected, when the authors reach the topic of jihad, their dissembling reaches a new level.  They repeatedly insist that jihad, as enshrined in Shariah, is simply the Muslim counterpart of Western Just War theory, which teaches that war and aggression are permissible, but only in defense or to recover one’s territory from occupiers:  “The lesser or outer jihad involves defending Islam and the Muslim community.”   As usual, they spend much time quoting and elaborating on Koran verses that comport with this position, while ignoring or sidelining the many contradictory verses.  In reality, mainstream Islam holds that the Koran’s “Sword Verses” (especially 9:5 and 9:29) have abrogated all the peaceful ones, thereby making warfare on non-Muslims—for no less a reason than that they are non-Muslims—obligatory.



Consider Koran 9:29:  “Fight those who do not believe in Allah nor the Last Day, nor forbid what Allah and his Messenger have forbidden, nor embrace the religion of truth [Islam] from the People of the Book [Jews and Christians], until they pay the jizya with willing submission and feel themselves subdued.”



What, exactly, is “defensive” about this verse?



Similarly, they claim that dar al-harb, or “abode of war”—Islam’s designation for all those non-Muslim territories (such as Europe) that Muslims were historically in a permanent state of war with—“applied to other parties with whom Muslims were in conflict.” Again, they fail to mention that the primary reason Muslims were “in conflict” with them was because they were non-Muslim, and that all non-Muslim territories were by default part of the “abode of war,” except when treaties advantageous to Islam were drawn.



Instead, the authors say, “The territories classified as the abode of war were those that refused to provide such protection to Muslims and their clients”—thereby implying Muslims were hostile to, say, Europe, because Europe was first hostile to Muslims.  (Reality, as chronicled in Sword and Scimitar: Fourteen Centuries of War between Islam and the West, was the exact opposite.)



Miscellaneous Subterfuge



One can go on and on; the authors engage in other forms of subterfuge to exonerate Shariah.  They frequently project a Western veneer to Islamic terms and concepts, saying for example that Shariah is ultimately about “promoting good and preventing evil”—which sounds admirable—without pointing out that, based on the Koran and Sunna (that is, Shariah), conquering non-Muslim territories is about “promoting good” and keeping women under wraps and indoors, beating them as required, is about “preventing vice.”



While admitting that Christians and other non-Muslim minorities are currently being persecuted, not only do the authors insist that this has nothing to do with Shariah, but they invoke relativistic thinking: “Just as Muslims living in non-Muslim countries are often concerned with their rights and civil liberties as minorities,” they say, “so some consider the rights and status of non-Muslim minorities living in Muslim countries to be a parallel issue.” In other words, because some Americans view Muslims in their midst with suspicion, the ongoing enslavement and slaughter of Christians—more than 6,000 in Nigeria alone since January 2018—and ban on or destruction of churches is a sort of tit for tat, a “parallel issue” that can only be solved when the West becomes less critical about Islam.



Relativism is also invoked during the authors’ brief treatment of apostasy in Islam: “Historically, apostasy was sometimes punishable by death in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.”  They claim that apostasy is still a major issue in Islam due to “radical” interpretations or politics—bolstering their position by again quoting the same Koran verses that seem to support freedom of religion—without mentioning, say, the canonical hadith (meaning part of Shariah) where Muhammad said, “Whoever leaves his religion [Islam], kill him.”



Such is how Islam’s skilled apologists dupe the West: they admit to some of the more controversial aspects that many other apologists shy away from—namely that Shariah is indeed foundational to Islam and that hundreds of millions of Muslims revere and wish to see it implemented—but then, having established trust with the reader, they slip back into the “game,” portraying all the intolerance, misogyny, violence, and terrorism daily committed in the name of Islam as products of anything and everything—fallible Muslim interpretations, self-serving clerics and terrorists, socio-economic pressures, Western criticism or encroachments—never Shariah itself.



Contrary to its subtitle, then, John Esposito’s  and Natana J. LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles County Departments of Public Health and Mental Health, along with Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, plan to open 50 so-called “well-being centers” at high schools throughout the City of Angels, making birth control, condoms and other “sexual health needs” available to youth.



“A high school senior decided recently that she wants to become sexually active with her boyfriend. But she is not yet comfortable talking to her mom about birth control and would be unable to get to a doctor’s appointment on her own. Instead, she walked over to the new well-being center at school during a free period,” reads a recent article from the Los Angeles Times.



“It was easy. Planned Parenthood runs a sexual healthcare clinic at Esteban Torres High School in East L.A. once a week,” it outlines.



The school is one of five locations where Planned Parenthood currently has an office, and dozens more are set to be established in the next three years. The Los Angeles Times notes that such centers will make birth control, condoms, contraception, sexually transmitted disease (STD) testing and pregnancy tests available to teens.







It also explains that under California law, children who are older than 12 can obtain these services without their parents’ consent — or knowledge.



Barbara Ferrer, who leads the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, told the outlet that the county has “one of the highest rates of chlamydia among this age group,” and that she hopes the centers will help to decrease positive STD tests in the next five years — as well as student absenteeism.



Planned Parenthood believes that the centers are beneficial as there may be a lack of “preventive care” for an age group whose “risk is highest” for “unprotected” sexual activity, along with other unhealthy practices, such as vaping, smoking or drinking.



“The on-campus Well-Being Centers aim to create a safe space in each school where students can receive the education and health services they need to lead healthy lives,” Planned Parenthood wrote in a news release.



“Now open in five high schools, the centers will eventually open on fifty high school campuses across L.A. County, and will offer services including health and wellness education services, sexual health services, peer leadership opportunities, parent education and support, and more.”



“This is a first-of-its-kind collaboration between local partners to address the social, emotional, and sexual health needs of young people throughout Los Angeles County,” it stated.



The project is stated to cost approximately $12 million in the first year alone, and Planned Parenthood hopes to take over all 50 locations. It has invested $5 million into the effort for the first five years.



The Washington Examiner notes that the announcement comes on the heels of the already controversial sex education curriculum that was approved by the California Board of Education in spring 2019. Not only are children taught about transgenderism and bodily anatomy, but secondary schools may also teach about certain sex acts.



“Two of the recommended books drawing the most ire from parents were ‘Changing You,’ which includes cartoon illustrations of female and male genitalia for young children, and ‘S.E.X.: The All-You-Need-to-Know Sexuality Guide to Get You Through Your Teens and Twenties,’ which provides high schoolers with descriptions of how to perform anal sex and bondage,” the outlet explained last May.



1 Thessalonians 4:2-8 reads, “For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication, that every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor — not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God.”

Jen Hatmaker is the progressive queen of liberal pro-gay faux Christianity who advocates for the broad acceptance of homosexuality and other aberrant sexual orientations in the Church. Like her late counterpart, Rachel Held Evans, Hatmaker is known for her endorsement of “gay Christianity” and gay authors and “pastors” such as Matthew Vines and Brandan Robertson.





Hatmaker first came out of the closet of homosexual affirmation during an interview with Jonathan Merritt, son of former Southern Baptist president, James Merritt. Subsequently, the SBC book store Lifeway pulled her materials from their shelves.















Since then, Hatmaker has made campaigning for the normalization of sexual immorality her primary mission in life and has a massive following of lost people who endorse her. To make matters worse, she also partners with pro-abortion political groups to advocate for “women’s rights” — read, abortion rights. Bottom line; Jen Hatmaker is nothing more than a voice for Satan himself disguised as an angel of light.



But this didn’t stop Max Lucado from singing her praises and giving her a glowing endorsement. Max Lucado is a best-selling Christian author and pastor at Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas and is a friend of Southern Baptists like Matt Chandler and Beth Moore, partnering with them to advocate for amnesty. He’s also been praised by the SBC’s news outlet, the Baptist Press.



Lucado recently joined Hatmaker in a podcast where he gave her glowing accolades saying, "I think so highly of you. You energize me, to listen to your podcast. The other day I caught myself needing to get out of the car, but I was listening to your podcast and I just sat, and I just sat, and I just sat. You make it so easy and delightful, and yet profound at the same time."



He went on, praising her and affirming her and her followers as believers. “And your heart . . . And you know what else I like, Jen?” Lucado told Hatmaker, “You bring me in touch with a circle of believers that I might not typically have contact with, you know?”



"You expand my circle, and that’s good for me. I don’t really like my preconceptions to be tested … But it’s good for me, and sometimes when I listen to your podcast, I feel stretched tighter than a trampoline skin. But it’s good, it’s good. And I really need that and I appreciate it."





Lucado’s endorsement of Hatmaker is damaging to the gospel. Lucado, who is fairly orthodox though not without problems, lends credibility to a movement that is patently and biblically false — the “gay Christian” movement. To tell someone like Hatmaker — who clearly denies the gospel and the clear teachings of Scripture — that she and her followers are “believers” is to deny the inerrancy of Scripture and authority of God himself. One can only hope that Lucado will repent of this serious heresy.

The latest undercover Project Veritas exposé shows Bernie Sanders Field Organizer Kyle Jurek saying that Trump supporters and billionaires will be sent to Soviet-style gulags for re-education if Bernie wins the presidency.



The video starts with the PV journalist asking Jurek, a paid staffer, if “MAGA people” need to be re-educated should Sanders become president.



“We gotta try,” Jurek replies. “In Nazi Germany, after the fall of the Nazi Party, there was a shit-ton of the populace that was f---ing Nazified.”







“Germany had to spend billions of dollars re-educating their f---ing people to not be Nazis,” he continues. “We’re probably going to have to do the same f---ing thing here.”



“That’s kind of what all Bernie’s whole f---ing like, ‘hey, free education for everybody’ because we’re going to have to teach you to not be a f---ing Nazi,” he added.







Later in the video, Jurek explains that prisoners in Soviet gulags under Stalin were paid a “living wage.”



“People were actually paid a living wage in the gulags, they conjugal visits in gulags, gulags were meant for re-education,” Jurek claims.



He then says that billionaires can only learn of their privilege by performing slave labor for 12 hours a day.



“[The] greatest way to break a f---ing billionaire of their privilege and their idea that their superior, go and break rocks for 12 hours a day. You’re now a working class person and you’re going to f---ing learn what the means, right?”



Jurek also says that if Bernie doesn’t win the nomination at the Democratic National Convention, then Milwaukee will “burn to the ground” akin to the 1968 DNC Chicago riots.



“If Bernie doesn’t get the nomination or it goes to a second round at the DNC convention, f---ing Milwaukee will burn,” says Jurek. “It’ll start in Milwaukee and then when the police push back on that, other sites will f---ing [explode].”

Notably, Jurek was arrested in Polk County, Iowa, last week for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, drug paraphernalia, and failure to provide proof of insurance.

A paid Bernie Sanders campaign field organizer has been caught on video declaring “F***ing cities burn” if President Trump is re-elected. He also threatened violence if Sanders does not become the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee. Project Veritas captured the staffer, Kyle Jurek, on camera touting Sanders’ “free education” policies because it would “teach you how to not be a f**king nazi.” He also expressed admiration for Stalin-style gulags, which, Jurek said, “were actually meant for, like, reeducation."



Those people who don’t accept the revolution should be shot, Jurek warned. “You want to fight against the revolution, you’re going to die for it, motherf*cker,” he proclaimed. “Reign of Terror” appears to be one of his slogans of choice.



Whatever the Sanders campaign ultimately decides to do with this fanatic is beside the point. Sanders attracts dangerous radicals with his repeated calls for political revolution. Some of Sanders’ followers do not draw any line between hyperbolic rhetoric and violence. That should not be surprising since Bernie Sanders himself has a history of supporting violent left-wing Latin American political movements.



Sanders has praised Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. Sanders remarked that people "forgot that [Castro] educated their kids, gave their kids healthcare, totally transformed the society.” Sanders forgot to mention the innocent lives lost as the cost of totally transforming society. Kyle Jurek’s praised what the Cuban revolutionaries did “to reactionaries.” He said cavalierly, “they shot them on the beach.”



Sanders also admired Nicaraguan dictator Daniel Ortega. Sanders witnessed the celebration of the "Seventh Anniversary of the Revolution" at Ortega’s invitation, where the crowd chanted, “Here, there, everywhere, the Yankee will die.” After he returned from Nicaragua, Sanders said that he was "impressed" with the "intelligence and sincerity" of the Sandinista leaders. He remarked that the Sandinistas had "very deep convictions." They surely did. The Sandinista government leaders' deep convictions led them to align closely with Communist Cuba and other Soviet-bloc countries.



Also consider the radical left leanings of Sander’s top campaign officials. David Sirota was hired last year as a senior adviser and speechwriter for the Sanders campaign. Back in 2013, Sirorta wrote glowingly about the late Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez’s socialist policies, which Sirota credited with fueling Venezuela’s spurt of economic growth. “When a country goes socialist and it craters, it is laughed off as a harmless and forgettable cautionary tale about the perils of command economics,” Sirota wrote back then. “When, by contrast, a country goes socialist and its economy does what Venezuela's did, it is not perceived to be a laughing matter - and it is not so easy to write off or to ignore.”



Venezuela’s economy has since cratered under the weight of the socialist policies pursued by Chavez’s successor, Nicholas Maduro. Venezuela’s economy today could be a foretaste of what may lie ahead for the United States under a socialist Bernie Sanders presidency with senior advisers like Sirora by Sanders' side.



Sanders’ campaign manager is the radical progressive Faiz Shakir. Radical Linda Sarsour was beside herself with joy.



Shakir, along with Sanders’ foreign policy adviser Matt Duss, are Israel bashers. "In a climate of escalating Jew-hate, particularly coming from self-described progressives,” said Josh Block, a Democratic strategist and head of the Israel Project, “it is especially alarming that Bernie Sanders would put in charge of his presidential campaign and foreign policy portfolio two people so deeply at the heart of an anti-Semitism scandal and cancer that had to be cut-out from the Center for American Progress for engaging in vile Jew-baiting, including attacking pro-Israel Democratic members of Congress as ‘Likudniks' and American Jews as ‘Israel Firsters.'"



Endorsements of Bernie Sanders by Squad members Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar demonstrate Sanders' appeal to the extreme left of the Democratic Party. Sanders after all backed Omar when she was criticized for making anti-Semitic remarks. “We will stand by our Muslim brothers and sisters,” Sanders said at the time.



Far left progressive groups such as the Center for Popular Democracy Action, the Socialist Alternative Party, Democratic Socialists of America, Dream Defenders and Sunrise Movement have also endorsed the Sanders presidential campaign.



Bernie Sanders proudly wears the mantle of socialism. He has at times tried to make case that there are good socialists and bad socialists. But in the worldview of Sanders and his supporters, it comes down in the end to whether you are on the side of the “oppressor” or the “oppressed.” Jacobin Magazine, which has written glowing articles about Sanders’ candidacy, co-authored a book back in 2016 entitled “The ABCs of Socialism.” According to the authors, “In a world filled with exploitation and oppression, one has to differentiate between the violence of those fighting to maintain injustice, and those fighting against injustice.” The authors added, “we think there’s a difference between the violence of the oppressed and that of the oppressors.”



This is the same message that the Sanders campaign aide Kyle Jurek so crudely delivered in the video captured by Project Veritas. Bernie Sanders has surrounded himself with radicals willing to entertain violence in pursuit of his strident calls for revolution.

Convention’s propaganda outlet that typically reports on absolutely 


nothing newsworthy in the way of Southern Baptist life, culture, or 


doctrine. The outlet is primarily used to promote the circle of elites that 


micromanage the denomination and sway public opinion when the 


arrogance of those in charge becomes too much and ignoring criticism 


from Southern Baptists is no longer an option.



That’s exactly what the Baptist Press recently did. Publishing an article today — dubbed an “explainer” — the outlet sought to turn down the heat of public opinion from conservatives who are growing increasingly concerned with the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission head, Russell Moore’s ties to leftist billionaire, George Soros. The article, titled ERLC, George Soros and Evangelical Immigration Table, claims that there are no ties and that those blogs who perpetuate this are not being truthful.



Unfortunately for them, facts are facts.



Firstly, the article cites a Breitbart.com report — but doesn’t link the article so that people can see for themselves — stating that the article at Breitbart, "recently highlighted the Evangelical Immigration Table (EIT), an organization credited with persuading multiple governors to allow refugees to resettle in their states. The article also suggested the group has ties to the progressive billionaire George Soros."



The Breitbart article they didn’t link to can be seen at this link. The Baptist Press article also said that, "A number of blogs have circulated these rumors, charging the group and those affiliated with it as advancing an “open borders” mass immigration agenda. These claims have proved to be false."



Who do they cite to prove that these claims are false? Snopes. The liberal, progressive “fact-checking” site, Snopes that needs to be fact-checked itself. 



The Baptist Press writes,



"The fact-checking website Snopes.com published a piece in December 2019 debunking this same Soros charge aimed at another evangelical organization. The article describes the Soros accusation as consisting of “convoluted connections,” claims the charges, “stretch and distort the existing facts,” are “factually insupportable,” and “simply false.”"



Right, well. Here’s the truth. The Evangelical Immigration Table (EIT) is a front group for the National Immigration Forum (NIF). The EIT is not an entity that even legally exists in the corporate structure. It is nothing more than a group of leaders who, at the behest of the NIF, carry out the agenda of the NIF into Evangelical circles. It’s that simple.



In 2013, Ali Noorani — the executive director of the National Immigration Forum and a man who Russell Moore works with regularly — stated that the NIF received about 10 percent of its funding from Soros’ Open Society Foundation. This was reported at TheBlaze. The Baptist Press article said that Soros’ funding only represented 2 percent. This is demonstrably false as all you need to do is dig through the 990 filings dating as far back as 2006 and even earlier to see that Soros’ Open Society Foundation has granted hundreds of thousands of dollars to the NIF over the years.



And it’s not just that the NIF is funded directly by the Open Society Foundation either. But the NIF is also supported by MALDEF (Latino Legal Voice for Civil Rights in America), the ACLU, the National Immigration Law Center, La-Raza, and the AFL-CIO which are all funded by George Soros. If you really want to dig into the facts of the National Immigration Forum’s funding and George Soros’ involvement, here’s an actual trustworthy fact-checking site that lays out the actual facts.



So, how does the NIF control the EIT? The EIT told Breitbart in an email that they selected the National Immigration Table to “facilitate its work.” The email reads, "The Evangelical Immigration Table functions as a coalition of partners and does not exist as its own non-profit.



The principal organizations that serve as the coalition’s leadership are listed on our website and include Bread for the World, the Christian Community Development Association, CLUE Orange County, Esperanza, the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, the National Association of Evangelicals, the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, the National Latino Evangelical Coalition, Sojourners, World Relief and World Vision."



The organizations that make up the leadership of the Table are predominantly 501(c)3’s but some have affiliated 501(c)4’s.



Funding for our work comes from a variety of sources including the organizations that make up the leadership of the Table as well as other individuals and institutions that believe in our message.



Early in the formation of the Table’s work, the leadership sought a neutral third-party institution, the National Immigration Forum, to help facilitate our work."



So, the email from the EIT told Breitbart that they do not exist as their own legal entity, the Southern Baptist Convention’s ERLC (Russell Moore) is a leader, and that the National Immigration Forum — which receives 10 percent of its funding according to their own executive director — is who facilitates the work of the EIT and that the NIF is “neutral.”



Right.



To make matters worse, Jim Wallis of the highly liberal Sojourners who is also a leader of the Evangelical Immigration Table admitted to receiving funding from Soros after initially denying it. In an article now deleted from Christianity Today but still available on archive.org, Wallis stated, "I should have declined to comment until I was able to review the blog post in question and consulted with our staff on the details of our funding over the past several years. Instead, I answered in the spirit of the accusation and did not recall the details of our funding over the decade in question."



Interestingly, it sounds a lot like what’s going on at the Baptist Press right now. While the Baptist Press is refusing to address the actual and factual allegations made against the entity head’s cooperation with an obviously George Soros-funded organization, the National Immigration Forum, through its front group with no actual legal status, the Evangelical Immigration Table, they are citing leftist propaganda websites that have no interest in actually fact-checking and reporting accurately, but only advancing a liberal agenda.

A Charismatic megachurch caused national headlines after they announced a campaign to pray and raise money for a resurrection after the unexpected death of a 2-year old toddler in their congregation. The pastor, Bill Johnson has attempted to use the Biblical example of Jesus performing resurrections as his basis to plead with God for a miraculous intervention. While this may all seem noble and godly on the exterior, upon closer examination, this prayer plan came from a church that is filled heretical, unbiblical and even occult practices. And it is sad commentary on the lack of discernment of many well-meaning Christians today who are looking for churches based on sound Biblical doctrine.



#WAKEUPOLIVE – BETHEL CHURCH’S PRAYER CAMPAIGN FOR A RESURRECTION







According to reports:





“Music echoed throughout the cavernous space as hundreds of congregants of a church in Redding, Calif., jumped up and down with their hands in the air. At the front of the room, a worship leader danced around a stage lined with lit Christmas trees as giant screens played the song’s lyrics.



“Come alive/ Come alive/ Come alive, dry bones/ Awake, arise/ Inhale the light”



The group was praying for 2-year-old Olive Heiligenthal, who Bethel Church says unexpectedly stopped breathing on Saturday. But the worshipers were not praying for her soul to find rest or for her family to be healed. They were asking God to raise her from the dead.



Kalley Heiligenthal, a worship leader at the church, and her husband, Andrew Heiligenthal, called 911 when they realized their daughter was not breathing, Bethel’s leadership said in a statement. First responders tried to revive Olive at her home and at the hospital, but the church said she was pronounced dead the same day. Her body was transferred to the Shasta County Coroner’s Office.



The church said its congregants believe in the miracle of resurrection, “which is modeled by Jesus in the New Testament of the Bible.” This is Bethel’s first public gathering of prayer for someone to return to life, according to a statement from the church’s leadership.” (source).





Bethel Church is a non-denominational charismatic church in Redding, CA. They have built a massive, global following through their mega-popular Christian contemporary music that is sung in thousands of churches all over the country every Sunday. They preach that the Holy Spirit has empowered them to prophesy and perform supernatural miracles, “signs and wonders” on a regular basis.  However, there is a great deal of wildly unbiblical practices in this church.



BILL JOHNSON’S MANY HERESIES



Here is a video that breaks down some of the incorrect, unbiblical teachings of Bethel Church pastor Bill Johnson:











In stunning fashion, Johnson states that the Apostle Paul was preaching “another Gospel” because he stated that God permitted him to be ill with a “thorn in the flesh.” Let’s examine this passage in context:





“And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.  For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.  And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.



Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.” – 2 Corinthians 12:7-10





Note that Paul gave the specific reason for why he suffered the “thorn” – to keep him humble. Jesus personally appeared to Paul on the road to Damascus, leading to his conversion to the Christian faith. Paul communed with God in Sinai. 13 of the books of the New Testament were written by him. He was given the power via the Holy Spirit to perform miracles. All these things could have led Paul to be full of himself – puffed up with pride that he was the special Apostle of Christ. But the thorn was a reminder to remain humble.




Also note that Paul said he prayed 3 times to be healed and God did not heal him. Why? God told him “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness .” God forgiving Paul for all of the sins in his life was enough consolation and furthermore, The Lord wanted Paul to lean on God in the moments he felt physically, emotionally or spiritually weak. This is when God demonstrates His strength: when we humbly cry out in affliction and paid for help from Him.



The fact that Christians will suffer in this life is taught all throughout Scripture. Jesus Christ said: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33).



Yet Bill Johnson stated in the above video that the notion that God would allow any Christian to suffer bad health was “another Gospel” – essentially labeling that passage from 2 Corinthians as heresy! This should give any Christian pause – a pastor is directly telling his Church that certain parts of Paul’s teachings are false. And that any teaching that agrees with it is false. In a ‘Signs and Wonders’ ministry believers are to command and demand their miracles and believe they are entitled to every healing, blessing and prosperous situation ever mentioned in the Bible. This is not sound teaching.



When Job, whom God called the most faitfhul man on Earth in his day, lost his home, wealth and children in a day. Let us examine his reaction:






“While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house:  And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.



Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,  And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.” – Job 1:13-22





This passage alone absolutely shatters the notion that we Christians should have an expectation of health, wealth, good looks and prosperity. Maybe we will have all those things, maybe not. As we live in this Earth, which is still under the curse of sin and death, nothing is promised to the Christian. Notice Job, whom God called the most faitful man on Earth, did not immediately demand a resurrection. He did not break into song to “manifest the Spirit” for supernatural power. He simply dropped to his knees and worshiped.



Job did not know why God allowed these things to happen but he trusted God had a great and mighty purpose in it. That is faith. It is trusting God when you do not know what is going to happen.







CAN WE PRAY FOR MIRACLES?

There is no sin or shame in praying for God to perform a miraculous, supernatural act in your life. Even in praying for the dead to come to life, we see Biblical examples of Jesus doing this. However, there is great danger in following teachings from a pastor or church who do not follow or teach the Bible accurately. What Bethel Church has done is precisely what Johnson discusses in the video above: preaching “another Gospel.” His false teaching incorrectly states that if the healing does no happen – the fault is on the person praying, because they should have the power of signs and wonders. This not only can lead to massive disappointment and confusion for the congregation, it leads to great spiritual error.

One of the principal teachings of Bethel Church is that they can make the Holy Spirit manifest at their church services and take control of the congregation. This is demonstrated through acting “drunk”- a term the church uses for when you start laughing uncontrollably and enter into wild, chaotic behavior and spasms.  There is absolutely no Biblical example of this whatsoever in Scripture. You will never find any instance of a believer in God acting irrationally or intoxicated as a sign of the presence of the Holy Spirit.



But that has not stopped the false teachers at Bethel Church from encouraging their thousands of followers from engaging in just this very thing. In the extremely disturbing video below, Heidi Baker and her husband Rolland, leaders in Bethel, summon what appear to be demonic forces all throughout the congregation:  











The young man in the video (who Baker “laid hands on”) is writhing on the ground and screaming in sheer agony a mere 2-3 feet from Baker and she does not even pay him any mind. Clearly, this is what she wanted to happen. Beloved, this behavior is not of the Holy Spirit. At no point in the Bible does any person who is indwelled with the Holy Spirit of God, ever roll on the floor, enter into gyrations, scream wildly or exhibit any form of erratic behavior. This is critical to understand because there are many churches today who false teach that “drunken” behavior or falling out onto the ground, are signs of being “filled with the Holy Ghost.”



What we see in the video is much more in line with demonic possession:





“And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.” – Mark 5:1-5





Notice in the passage above, the man, possessed with numerous demons, was uncontrollable. He had to be chained and restrained because he was so violent and irrational in his actions and no man could “tame him.” All the while he was cutting himself and screaming. This is the result of demon possession in Scripture.

Once Jesus healed this man, the evidence of this miracle was from his very calm, normal behavior:





“Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.” – Luke 8:35-36





This man had experienced the healing power of God Almighty. He had a direct encounter with the Divine and what was the reaction? Was he acting irrational and insane? No, he was now calm and “in his right mind.” The fact that his demeanor was so normal frightened onlookers who were used to his animalistic behavior when he was possessed by demonic spirits. Keeping this in mind, what spirit was indwelling the young man in the video above? The Holy Spirit? God forbid. Do not be deceived.



Here is a clip of Bethel teaching congregants to enter a “Tunnel Of Fire” in which their fans are allegedly catching “Holy Spirit Fire”:











Again, notice there is no preaching taking place. There is no place for the Bible to be taught. It is merely emotion, wild spirituality and experience. This is not how a church service should be run. There is no example of this in Scripture whatsoever. The Bible says:  





“Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. If anything be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace. For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” – 1 Corinthians 14:29-33





The Lord is not “the author of confusion.” This is a difficult challenge – when a church appears to have the best intentions and motivations but are not following the Bible, they are no different than any secular, New Age or pagan belief system. Jesus Christ said: “… the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63). If a Church is not basing their beliefs or practices on what is sound, Biblical doctrine, then they do not have the Spirit – no matter what “manifestations” or spectacular behavior takes place.



CHILDREN TAUGHT TO “RELEASE SPIRITS”



Again, we see Bethel Church engaging in unbiblical practices. Here there are teenagers teaching other children on how they can “release spirits”:











PROMOTING THE LOVE OF MONEY



Kris Valotton, a leader in the church, has promoted the heretical “Prosperity Gospel” – the false teaching that if a person gives a great deal of money the pastors of a church God will give greater blessings. There is no Biblical basis for this teaching whatsoever and it is manipulative in that it pressures the congregation to give more money to the pastor as “evidence of their faith.” Here is a perfect example of how deceptive this teaching can be:











There are numerous errors in this very short clip. First off, the Valotton is describing the events of John 12:





“Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead. There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him. Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.



Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray him, Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein. Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this. For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.” – John 12:1-8





Valotton says that Mary poured a “years’ worth of wages on Jesus” and as a result of this she received the revelation that “Jesus is the Christ and was raised from the dead.” As seen in the passage above, the Bible never states that because of her generous “giving” Mary received a “special revelation” or “extra revelation” from God. It’s just in the text at all. The reason Jesus points to for Mary’s act of worship was that it was a foreshadow of His death on the cross that would take place just days later. The oil Mary used was normally reserved for the dead as a part of the funeral and burial process.



Additionally, the Mary in this passage was the sister of Lazarus, whom Jesus resurrected from the dead. This was not Mary Magdalene – the disciple of Jesus who was the first to see The Lord after His resurrection:





“The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him…



Then the disciples went away again unto their own home. But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre, And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.



And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.  Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.” – John 20:1-2; 10-18





Notice it was Mary Magdalene, not Mary of Bethany who was the first to receive the revelation that Jesus had indeed risen from the dead. Valloton is not even teaching the Bible accurately. But he can get away with this subtle deception because he is not actually reading the text – he is merely paraphrasing Biblical events in his own words.



Similarly, he says that Judas did not receive revelation because he was a thief and stingy. There is also nowhere in the Bible that states this. Yet Valotton creates this “principle” and concludes by stating “God gives back to you spiritual things when you sow natural things.” This may sound Biblical but it’s not in the Bible.



Micah 3 states:





“Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity. They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the Lord, and say, Is not the Lord among us? none evil can come upon us. Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.” – Micah 3:9-12





This type of worldly, material-focused preaching is heresy. It is an example of “teaching for hire” the very thing that Micah rebuked the priests in ancient Israel for doing. Bethel’s School of “Supernatural Ministry” which Vallotton states: “We’re equipping a company of revivalists to transform the world” charges $5000 for admission. The church made $60M in income in 2018, of which over $20M was “tithes and offerings.” 



OCCULT PRACTICES AT BETHEL CHURCH

Bethel drew controversy in early 2019 for using “destiny cards”, a set of cards with imagery and symbols used to “divine” someone’s future and give them a “reading.” Christalignment, the company that makes the cards, states this about their spiritual services:





 “All Christalignment team members operate only out of the third heaven realm. That means we are all hearing from Christ spirit. This ensures safety for you and a way higher level of accuracy. … We have developed 7 sets in total of destiny cards which are so accurate, that even if your life circumstances change dramatically, on your return to do them again years later, you will find the results identical, such is their accuracy. They are able to give profound insight into relationships, careers and your spiritual life.”

Notice the young girl admits to taking “2 hits of acid” before her reading. All the while the videographer from Christalignment tries to coax her into stating that she had Christian conversion. Does any of this seem like a young woman who heard the Gospel – that she is a sinner, guilty before God and sentenced to damnation and can only find forgiveness of her sins through faith in the shed blood of Christ Jesus on the cross? Does this seem like a person “in their right mind?”



The Bible strictly forbids any type of occult or New Age practices:





“There shall not be found among you anyone that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.” – Deuteronomy 18:10-12

This is the danger of mixing Christianity with witchcraft. In a published statement, Bethel Church was adamant that they do not endorse using tarot cards. However, using cards to determine one’s future, whether you call them tarot or “Christalignment” is practicing divination – which is a sin. Furthermore, the way the Christalignment creators discuss Jesus themselves, is in a New Age fashion – not a Biblical one. By referring to the “Christ Spirit” they are “aligning” with the notion of a “Christ Consciousness” – the New Age notion that Jesus is a spiritual force that you can tap into, rather than the Son of God who died on the cross for your sins. Do not be deceived.

In this era of social media, more and more Christian pastors, churches, bloggers and “influencers” are drawing massive followings who cling more to personality than sound doctrine. Thus, when confronted with an article like this that exposes the clear and often brazen heresy and sin within a particular ministry and react with anger because their “favorites” are being “attacked.” Beloved, if this is you, take time and pray to God for patience and understanding.



The Lord gave us His Holy Bible for a reason – it is the standard for all believers. And if a Church or pastor or Christian is leading people away from it, that is sinful rebellion. In the book of Romans, we read:





“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.” – Romans 16:17-18





Bethel Church has caused numerous offense contrary to the Bible and must be avoided. Pray for those who are under their sway to receive loving, Biblical correction and leave. And for those involved in the leadership of that church, pray they repent. Many souls are at stake and the only thing that can save them is the Biblical Gospel – trust and faith in the atoning work of Jesus Christ who died so He could take the punishment we all deserve for our sins. Lord willing, more of those deceived by Bethel will come to know this and truly follow the Savior of Scripture and not another Jesus.

As the persecution of Christians across the globe reaches some of its peak levels, one country that is often forgotten in media coverage is Nigeria. At the end of December 2019, ISIS terrorists posted a video of 10 Christians being beheaded for their faith. The mainstream media has been shockingly silent about this story – continuing a trend of ignoring many of the atrocities that have taken place in Nigeria the past year – all against those who profess faith in Jesus Christ.



GENOCIDE – BEHEADING CHRISTIANS JUST THE LATEST ATTACK

According to reports:





“Islamic State released a video purporting to show its militants beheading 10 Christian men in Nigeria, saying it was part of a campaign to avenge the deaths of its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and its spokesman.



The militant group posted the footage on its online Telegram news channel on Thursday, the day after Christmas, with Arabic captions but no audio.



The video showed men in beige uniforms and black masks lining up behind blindfolded captives then beheading 10 of them and shooting an 11th man.



An earlier video seen by Reuters said the captives had been taken from Maiduguri and Damaturu in Nigeria’s northeastern state of Borno, where militants have been fighting for years to set up a separate Islamist state.



In that video, the captives pleaded for the Christian Association of Nigeria and President Muhammadu Buhari to save them.” (source).





As horrific as these murders were, they are just one example of the numerous attacks on Christians in Nigeria in the past decade. Terrorism experts estimate that in 2018 alone, over 2,400 Nigerian Christians were murdered for their faith. Many at the hands of Boko Haram, the Muslim extremist group in Nigeria and the Fulani herdsmen, rural Muslims who are loosely aligned with Boko Haram.

A Wall Street Journal reporter traveled to the heart of Fulani territory to gather first-hand accounts of the rampant and unconsciable persecution of Christians taking place:





“I travel to Godogodo, in the center of the country, where I meet a beautiful woman named Jumai Victor, 28. On July 15, she says, Fulani extremists stormed into her village on long-saddle motorcycles, three to a bike, shouting “Allahu Akbar!” They torched houses and killed her four children before her eyes.



When her turn came and they noticed she was pregnant, a discussion ensued. Some didn’t want to see her belly slit, so they compromised by cutting up and amputating her left arm with a machete. She speaks quickly and emotionlessly, staring into space as if she lost her face along with her arm. The village chief, translating for her, chokes up. Tears stream down his cheeks when she finishes her account.



I venture north to Adnan, where Lyndia David, 34, tells her story of survival. On the morning of March 15, rumors reached her village that Fulani raiders were nearby. She was dressing for church as her husband prepared to join a group of men who’d stand watch. He urged her to take refuge at her sister’s home in another village.



Her first night there, sentinels woke her with a whistle. She left the house to find flames spreading around her. Fulani surrounded her. Then she heard a voice: “Come this way, you can get through!” She did, and her putative savior leapt out of the underbrush, cut three fingers off her right hand, carved the nape of her neck with his machete, shot her, doused her body with gasoline, and lit it. She somehow survived. A few weeks later she returned to her village and learned that the raiders had leveled it the same night. Her husband was among the 72 they murdered.” (source).




    

  • On Christmas Eve 2019, Boko Haram militants raided the town of Kwarangulum. Driving in on motorcycles and armed with assault rifles, the Muslim terrorists murdered 7 Christians, burnt homes and stores to the ground and abducted a teenage girl. Kwarangulum is just 10 miles from Chibok, where in 2014 Boko Haram militants stormed an all-girls school and kidnapped 276 girls (112 of them still remain in captivity today). (source).

  • In June of 2019, Boko Haram gunned down 65 Christians who were attending a funeral. The Muslim group’s goal is to establish an Islamic caliphate in Nigeria.  (source).

  • In September 2019 Boko Haram posted a video showing Lawrence Duna Dacighir and Godfrey Ali Shikagham, who were members of the Church Of Christ in Nations. Both young men were delivering aid to impoverished people in rural areas of Nigeria. In the video they were on their knees while three heavily armed terrorists stand behind them. They were then shot and executed. (source).

  • In February 2018, 100 girls were kidnapped from school in Dapchi, Nigeria by Boko Haram terrorists. Five of these girls died in captivity and many were eventually released. However some, still remain unaccounted for. Many of these girls are forced to become “brides” to Boko Haram members or sold as sex slaves. (source).

REMEMBER NIGERIA – PRAY FOR PEACE

Christian persecution in Africa | Bible verses on Persecution Though they are risking their lives, Christians in Nigeria still gather to worship Jesus Christ.



“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 5:10





Somehow, despite the dozens upon dozens of murders, kidnappings and assaults, the media has largely ignored the crisis in Nigeria. But we must not. Continue in prayer for the nation of Nigeria. Pray for the many tens of thousands of Christians who are living under daily fear of violence, displacement and death.  Pray that God will protect them and strengthen them for the tribulation they face. Also pray for the Holy Spirit to bring peace to the region and for the light of the Gospel – the good news that God came on the cross and died so that all people, including Fulani herdsmen, ISIS and Boko Haram – can be forgiven for all of their sins when they put their faith and trust in Jesus. In the latest brazen act of broadcast blasphemy against the Christian faith, a new Netflix movie streaming movie in Brazil portrays The Lord Jesus Christ as a homosexual and his earthly mother Mary as an adulteress. Pop Culture entertainment knows no bounds when it comes to offending Christianity and mocking Jesus Christ and this new Christmas-themed film is just the latest offering. According to reports:





“Netflix has released a blasphemous “Christmas special” movie that depicts Jesus as a homosexual and the Virgin Mary as an adulterer, prompting more than one million people to sign a petition to have the film removed from the popular streaming service. 



A Primeira Tentação de Cristo, or The First Temptation of Christ, is a production of the Porta dos Fundos comedy troupe from Brazil. In the supposed parody, Jesus is shown bringing home a homosexual lover to meet Mary and Joseph. 



On social media, Netflix proclaimed: “Jesus, who’s hitting the big 3-0, brings a surprise guest to meet the family. A Christmas special so wrong, it must be from comedians Porta dos Fundos.” Translated, Porta dos Fundos means “back door.” (source).





This was not even the first time that Netflix or this production company have disrespected the Christian faith. In 2018 the company produced another film in which The Lord Jesus Christ and His disciples wake up from a night of drunken partying. 



BLASPHEMY – MORE COMMONPLACE IN THE LATTER DAYS


Netflix Show Depicts Jesus Christ as Gay | Blasphemy Against The Christian FaithThe Bible predicted a rise in blasphemy in the end times.





“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” – 2 Timothy 3:1-5





Over 2,000 years ago the holy words of the Bible predicted that this proud, unholy blasphemy against God would be much more prevalent as the end times approached. Pop Culture has gone out of its way to attack, mock and disrespect the Christian faith. Why is this so important? Because it is one of the enemy’s ways of turning the hearts and minds of the unsaved away from God. The more the Bible and Christianity can be laughed at and scorned the less people have to take it seriously.  



The sad truth about all people is that we do not want to be confronted with the harsh, universal truth: we are all sinners.  Jesus Christ said:





“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” – John 3:17-21





The First Temptation Of Christ is just one of numerous examples of TV shows and movies which seek to make a mockery of the earthly mission of Jesus Christ, His sacrificial death on the cross for the atonement of the sins of humanity and the Bible in general.


GCB Good Christian | Blasphemy against Christianity on TV and Movies “GCB” was an earlier show that mocked Jesus and portrayed Christians as backstabbing hypocrites.

  • NBC’s sitcom ‘The New Normal’ which devoted an entire episode to mocking Christianity, including crude remarks about “killing Jesus twice” and having a homosexual character remarking on the “physique” of a statue of Jesus in a Catholic Church. (source).

  • ABC’s series “GCB” (which stands for ‘Good Christian B—–“), a show about the church lives of a group Christian women, posted their own version of the 10 Commandments which included lines like: “Thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s husband…unless he’s really hot.”, “Remember the spa day and keep it holy,” It also featured a Christmas play that depicted Jesus dancing with a scantily-clad woman who portraying ‘The Holy Spirit.’ (source).

  • DC Comics series “Second Coming” which depicts Jesus returning to Heaven after His resurrection to be told by God The Father that He was a failure and has to “learn how to be a Messiah” from a superhero.  (source).

At the same time, Hollywood refrains from any mockery of the faith of Islam. When irreverent, adult cartoon show South Park depicted the Islamic prophet Muhammed in humorous manner, the show was immediately censored before airing.  In 2013, a trailer for a movie about Islam that was never even released made offensive depictions of the prophet Muhammed, sparking mass protests in the Muslim community. Former President Barak Obama condemned the trailer in a public statement calling it “disgusting” and even connected the killing of four American citizens on the offensive nature of the mockery of the Islamic religion.



PRAY FOR REPENTANCE





“I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” – John 17:14-17





On several occasions, the Lord Jesus Christ warned His disciples that “the world” – meaning the unbelieving population, would hate them and all who believe in Biblical Christianity. Why? Because Jesus and true Christians are not “of the world.” Being a born-again Christian means you have a new-born spirit – from God. It means that you have discernment to feel grieved, hurt and offended when someone mocks Jesus Christ – just as you would if someone mocked and attacked your mother, child or best friend.



In order to prepare the world for the much greater deceptions to come in the end times, the Devil must turn people away from saving faith in the Gospel – the good news of the Bible that Jesus Christ died on the cross to take the punishment for the sins all people have committed so that we could be forgiven when we put our full faith and trust in His atoning sacrifice. Hollywood has been a major weapon in the arsenal of Satan to deter, distract and discourage even taking Christianity seriously. The Bible says:

Also pray that those involved with the production of this show will repent of their sins against the Creator of humanity. The Bible is clear that all people will give an account for what the have spoken against God. Lord willing, the people involved in these blasphemous programs will repent and worship Jesus – the Messiah who took their sins, rather than having to stand before His throne still bearing their own shame and guilt. Because at that point, no one will be laughing.

“A judge in Brazil has ruled that a film depicting Jesus as gay must be removed from the TV streaming service Netflix.



The film, The First Temptation of Christ, infuriated fervent Christians in the country.



Two million people signed a petition calling for it to be axed, and the production company was attacked with Molotov cocktails last month.



In the ruling against Netflix, the judge said: “The right to freedom of expression… is not absolute”.

The Iranian people are demonstrating. You can see the protests on Twitter, and read about the internal ferment online at the Free Iran Herald, which appears on Gateway Pundit.



The current round of demonstrations erupted all over the country after the destruction of the Ukrainian commercial airplane taking off from Tehran. The security forces are reacting with even greater than usual violence, shooting the protesters with live ammunition. At the same time, supporters of deceased General Qassem Soleimani within the Revolutionary Guards are being rounded up in significant numbers, suggesting that there was a power struggle underway within his Quds Force for the succession after the death of the supreme leader—Ali Khamenei—who is now eighty years old.



According to the Free Iran Herald, published in the Gateway Pundit blog,



This news is increasing the speculation that Soleimani, who was known to act on his own initiatives, and who was being seen as a possible future dictator-in-waiting for Tehran, was betrayed to American intelligence by his own colleagues within the regime, who feared that he would deprive them of their power and privileges.



Additionally, information has surfaced that Soleimani, who had been personally leading the repression against the popular uprising in Iraq since October, had been planning a coup d’état in Baghdad that would have resulted in the assassination of the Iraqi president, and the seizing of the American embassy there.



Most of the passengers on the Ukrainian aircraft were Iranians, and speculation abounds that the flight was brought down in order to kill the "disloyal" ones. Although the question remains: disloyal to whom?

The Tehran regime organized big crowds to say goodbye to Soleimani, but the current demonstrations are explicitly against Khamenei and his cohorts, from calls for the resignation of the supreme leader to students on campus in Tehran refusing to walk on big painted images of the American and Israeli flags. The regime was shutting down Internet communications as rapidly as possible, attempting to divide the Iranian people from one another, a tactic that has proven effective in the past, while the leaders of the demonstrations used couriers to carry messages from city to city.   



But perhaps the biggest news came from the White House, where President Trump spoke directly to the Iranian people in English and Farsi. He rehearsed the violence of the regime against the people, and said that he had supported the people from the outset, and would continue to do so. That was Saturday. Sunday he did it again. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who has been at it for some time, stressed the same themes: the regime is the source of the violence, and the people deserve the active support of the free nations of the world.







I don’t believe it is possible to overestimate the power of the president’s words on both the regime and the seventy-or-so million Iranians who oppose it. This is the first such event in forty years, and it comes from an American leader who has tried very hard to make a deal with the regime of the Islamic Republic.



He gave it his all, and satisfied himself that the regime was not interested in a deal with the United States. Accordingly, he rejected the advice of the likes of Rand Paul, and ordered the troops to eliminate the regime’s prime killer Soleimani and the band of Mafiosi around him, in the event mostly from Iraq. Now Trump is talking directly to the Iranian people, and the demonstrations are bigger and more widespread than any earlier ones.



I don’t think that the Khamenei regime is long for this world, now that the American president has spoken directly to the masses of Iranians who had waited for the United States to do their dirty work for them. No American president -- not Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush fils, or Obama -- had understood the key to the Middle East: bring down the Islamic Republic. That, rather than the conquest of Iraq and the overthrow of Saddam, should have been our goal in 2003, but we chose the wrong target.



Now, of all the unlikely people, Donald Trump figured it out and is pursuing it. Like his predecessors, Trump does not wish to invade Iran; unlike them, he has found that the regime is ready to fall, that America can inspire and lead a revolution against the world’s leading terror country.



Just look at the scenes coming out of Iran today.

After the Iranian regime first denied and then finally admitted that it had shot down a Ukrainian passenger plane killing all 176 people aboard, protests broke out against the government in Tehran as well as in other Iranian cities. As many as tens of thousands of Iranian people are said to be involved. Protesters are risking their lives denouncing the government, including Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader.



“Khamenei is a murderer!” some protesters exclaimed. Others shouted slogans such as “Death to liars!”, “Death to the dictator!”, and “You have no shame!” Whatever national unity there was in the immediate aftermath of the American killing of Maj. Gen. Qassim Soleimani is now gone. Indeed, protesters were seen ripping up pictures of Soleimani. Even some hardline conservatives in Iran, who generally support the regime, were critical of how the government had handled the downing of the plane.



Riot police, plainclothes security men, and members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps have been out in full force, trying to keep things under control. Police even arrested the British ambassador to Iran, Rob Macaire, who was attending a vigil for the victims. Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi described Ambassador Macaire as “an unknown foreigner in an illegal gathering” before confirming the ambassador’s identity and allowing him to be freed. The United Kingdom’s Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab denounced the arrest of Ambassador Macaire as “a flagrant violation of international law.”



In the past, the Iranian regime has been brutal to its own citizens who dared to protest against the government. A bloody crackdown late last year resulted in the deaths of as many as 1000 demonstrators and the wounding and imprisonment of thousands more. President Trump cautioned Iran’s leaders this time to show restraint. He tweeted:





“To the leaders of Iran - DO NOT KILL YOUR PROTESTERS. Thousands have already been killed or imprisoned by you, and the World is watching. More importantly, the USA is watching. Turn your internet back on and let reporters roam free! Stop the killing of your great Iranian people!”





Clearly, the Iranian regime is on the defensive. Iran’s foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, offered a half-apology while also blaming the Great Satan, the United States, for the tragedy.  “Human error at time of crisis caused by US adventurism led to disaster,” he tweeted. But the Iranian leaders and military have nobody to blame but themselves. And the Iranian people are tired of the regime’s standard propaganda.



Many poor and lower middle class people who have supported the regime in the past turned against it last fall after the regime imposed an increase in gas prices. The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps’ costly military ventures abroad, while Iranian citizens were suffering economic misery at home, added to the anger fueling the protests. The shooting down of the passenger plane and the cover up that followed may become the tipping point.



The Iranian regime had no explanation as to why commercial planes were allowed to take off from Iran in the first place, after the regime had launched missiles aimed at Iraqi bases housing U.S. troops and was anticipating a possible military response by the United States. Then, the regime offered a lame explanation for the crash, ascribing it to technical problems, before being forced to admit the truth in the face of overwhelming evidence that an Iranian missile had struck the Ukrainian aircraft. Even after admitting what the regime called a human error on its part, Iran’s military tried to deflect some blame onto the flight’s crew for allegedly veering off course near a sensitive military base. After Ukraine pushed back on this claim, an Iranian commander with the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps walked it back. In short, the Iranian regime has bungled the whole incident from beginning to end.



"This tragedy will not be forgotten nor is it easy to overcome for the population under sanctions and pressure not just from abroad but also from the state," said Sanam Vakil, Senior Research Fellow at Middle East and North Africa Programme, Chatham House. "This incident is a stark reminder of the gaping lack of governance."



Ray Takeyh, senior fellow for Middle East studies at the Council on Foreign Relations, said that the downing of the plane “has shocked the public. Once more, the regime carelessly kills its own people. It punctures the already spurious narrative that the killing of Soleimani has united the Iranian people behind their government."



Internationally, the Iranian regime’s claim to “credibility” has also taken a major hit.



President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has insisted on “a full admission of guilt” by the regime. “We expect Iran to assure its readiness for a full and open investigation, to bring those responsible to justice, to return the bodies of the victims, to pay compensation, and to make official apologies through diplomatic channels,” he said.



Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada, the home country of many who were killed in the downed plane, said he was “outraged and furious” and demanded a “full and complete investigation.” For once, Trudeau is right.



In the irony of ironies, as reported by Voice of America, "Iran has invited the National Transportation Safety Board, the U.S. accident investigation agency, to participate” in the Ukrainian plane crash investigation. Is German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas right in saying that Iran’s invitation is “a very important signal" of possible de-escalation? Superheroes may be fictional but their fight against injustices is closer to reality than one would think. The Muslim community got its very own Marvel superhero a few years back with the addition of Ms. Marvel, also known as Kamala Khan, to the roster. That Muslim superhero seems to be getting a super-sized assist in 2020.



Enter Amulet, the latest Muslim superhero to join the likes of other Marvel heroes. The Arab-American superhero hails from Dearborn, Michigan; for those of you who aren’t aware of this, the U.S. city is basically run by Arabs, with Arabic signs occupying stores and billboards.



The new character – who by the way has blue hair – will get a formal introduction in the latest edition of “Magnificent Ms. Marvel #13” comic.



So much remains in hiding about Amulet’s superpowers and background. After all, one of his creators did call him mysterious. What we do know is that he hails from Dearborn, is considered a fun and magical “gentle giant,” and last but not least, wears an “amulet” around his neck in honor of his heritage.



Oh, and he has a name: Fadi Fadlalah. He was created by two individuals who based a lot of the design on the Nazar, a symbol that is thought to protect people from harm, aka the evil eye. Jordanian-American illustrator Sara Alfageeh co-created Amulet with Marvel scribe and author Saladin Ahmed.



“We tend to associate sharp corners and edges with evil, and rounded designs and circles with good,” Alfageeh said in a statement to Marvel. “This character is a gentle giant, so I wanted to make sure that even with his size he was shaped like a friend.”…



In 2014, Kamala Khan – otherwise known as Ms. Marvel – became Marvel Comics’ first Muslim-American hero to headline her own comic. One year later, Kamala was used to wipe away messages of hate that had appeared on buses in San Francisco. As reported for years and substantiated in countless religious and secular news outlets 


and confirmed by prominent evangelical leaders – George Soros is heavily connected 


to the Evangelical Immigration Table. In the last 48 hours, the Southern Baptist machine 


has launched a coordinated attack on the press outlets reporting their ties to Soros in 


a desperate attempt to bury the alternative news organizations that are exposing them 


for what they are.





The first volley against alternative Christian news outlets that have reported on Soros’ ties to the Evangelical Immigration Table (EIT) run by the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) was launched by the Baptist Press (BP) in the article, Explainer: ERLC, George Soros, And Evangelical Immigration Table. The BP is owned by the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) and is operated by the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee is run by Ronnie ‘Armani’ Floyd. Ronnie Floyd is a member of the EIT.



Not only is the Baptist Press not an independent news publication, but it is also the official propaganda wing of the SBC, tasked with protecting Southern Baptist interests. Masquerading as faux-journalism, this piece was written anonymously.



I believe it was written by Joe Carter, a leftist with the Gospel Coalition (who itself is neck-deep in political dark money) and a board member at the ERLC. I’ve read enough of Joe Carter’s “explainer” garbage to know his writing when I see it. At this point, if Carter denied it and the BP said it was written by someone else, I wouldn’t believe them. The article has Joe Carter’s fingerprints all over it. Jonathan Howe claims a “team of 8 people” helped put the article together, which is why it was “anonymous.” First, why would it take 8 people to put together such an article if they were just reporting the truth? Eight people is what you need for damage control and to carefully craft lies. Secondly, I guarantee you Joe Carter was one of those eight people. I know his writing.



Ironically, the Baptist Press article contradicted itself and did acknowledge that Soros was tied to the EIT.



Some accusing EIT, or member groups of EIT, as being “Soros-funded” point out that EIT is supported by the National Immigration Forum, and that an organization chaired by George Soros had awarded grant money to the National Immigration Forum — which is true.



The BP then goes on to claim that only “2 percent” went to the NIF. However, as we have demonstrated in the past, they (through Samuel Rodriguez) first claimed the NO MONEY had been received from Soros and then also said 10 percent had been received by Soros. The BP neglected that part.



In reality, there’s no way to know how much money the EIT has received from Soros, because Soros funnels money through other organizations via his Open Societies Foundation. We do know that the NIF takes money from MALDEF (Latino Legal Voice for Civil Rights in America), the ACLU, the National Immigration Law Center, La-Raza, and the AFL-CIO. All of these organizations are funded by Soros. That’s why they call it dark money.



Should it not suffice to prove a connection to demonstrate that the NIF founded the EIT and that the NIF is chaired by George Soros? Mercy sakes, people.



Eric Metaxas and a number of other prominent evangelical leaders publicly abandoned the EIT ship when they discovered it was a Soros operation. They were quite vocal about the facts.



The BP article then referenced the ultra-leftwing Snopes, which made news recently for fact-checking the satirical site, Babylon Bee. The Snopes article referenced by BP was an attack on Pulpit & Pen, which bait-and-switched their article to make P&P allege something we never said. We did not claim Soros had ‘funded’ Christianity Today (CT), but that he ‘backs it,’ which is easily demonstrable from the facts we cited. Snopes then fact-checked a strawman they themselves created, claiming Soros didn’t fund or own CT, a claim literally no one made.



Attacking the site, Breitbart, which independently corroborated Soros’ use of the EIT, the BP decided instead to take the word of the leftwing site, Snopes.



Within hours, the BP’s attack on the truth was followed up by reporting in the Baptist Standard post, Rumors Linking Soros to Evangelical Immigration Table Disputed. That article went further than the BP and went on to attack Pulpit & Pen and Reformation Charlotte, which has also reported extensively on Soros’ ties to the organization.



These sunshine-pumping propaganda wings of SBC entities are overlooking the fact that Soros’ talking points come straight out of Russell Moore’s mouth. Russell Moore claimed, “One day we’ll be ashamed of Trump’s immigration policy,” called a border wall a golden calf and likened border security to idolatry, and said Jesus was an illegal alien.



Since the BP article, SBC blogs like that hosted by The Company Man™ at SBC Voices have tried to spike the football as though the BP propaganda piece proved anything. But for unthinking people like Bart Barber, that the BP denied it is proof enough, even absent any proof.



Twitter is rife with tweets from SBC leaders attacking alternative Christian press outlets, which they call “gossip blogs” for spreading this untruth. Complete with accusations of 9th Commandment violations, these leaders are uniformly going after Pulpit & Pen, Reformation Charlotte, Capstone Report, and other press outlets who have reported the truth in the matter.

The SBC elites cannot let pew-sitters in the denomination figure out that George Soros is greatly affecting an SBC entity like the ERLC. God only knows (literally) how much leftist dark money is funding projects at Southeastern Seminary. They just do not want us digging.



We’re going to continue to dig.



This is why it is important to support alternative Christian media. Press outlets controlled by denominations, like the BP, are forced to do the bidding of the denomination and have no journalistic freedom whatsoever. We desperately need alternative Christian media to report the truth you won’t hear from publications under the control and sway of the devil’s cabal.

(CNN)More than a dozen Saudi servicemen training at US military installations will be expelled from the United States after a review that followed the deadly shooting last month at a Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida, multiple sources told CNN.



The Saudis are not accused of aiding the 21-year-old Saudi Air Force second lieutenant who killed three American sailors in the December shooting, two sources said, but some are said to have connections to extremist movements, according to a person familiar with the situation.



A number are also accused of possessing child pornography, according to a defense official and the person familiar with the situation. The FBI and Justice Department declined to comment.



“In the wake of the Pensacola tragedy, the Department of Defense restricted to classroom training programs foreign military students from Saudi Arabia while we conducted a review and enhancement of our foreign student vetting procedures,” said Lt. Col. Robert Carver, a spokesman for the Department of Defense. “That training pause is still in place while we implement new screening and security measures.”



About a dozen Saudi trainees at the Pensacola base had been confined to their quarters as the FBI investigated the shooting as a potential terror attack, and the Pentagon initiated a review of all Saudi military trainees in the country, numbering around 850 students….

Why does this keep happening?



One survivor of a Muslim rape gang in the UK said that her rapists would quote Quran to her, and believed their actions justified by Islam. Thus it came as no surprise when Muslim migrants in France raped a girl and videoed the rape while praising Allah and invoking the Qur’an. And the victim of an Islamic State jihadi rapist recalled: “He told me that according to Islam he is allowed to rape an unbeliever. He said that by raping me, he is drawing closer to God…He said that raping me is his prayer to God.”



The Qur’an teaches that Infidel women can be lawfully taken for sexual use (cf. its allowance for a man to take “captives of the right hand,” 4:3, 4:24, 23:1-6, 33:50, 70:30). The Qur’an says: “O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.” (33:59) The implication there is that if women do not cover themselves adequately with their outer garments, they may be abused, and that such abuse would be justified.

The man accused of sexually assaulting and killing a 92-year-old woman in Queens claimed to cops that he’d been trying to help the old woman — but then he lost his balance, his belt broke, his pants fell down and his genitals accidentally came in contact with hers, it was revealed in court Friday.



The suspect, 21-year-old Reeaz Khan, told detectives that he found the woman, Maria Fuertes, on the ground near Liberty Avenue and 127th Street in Richmond Hill at about midnight on Monday and tried to help her, a prosecutor said at his arraignment on Friday.



Khan told detectives, “He fell down, his belt broke, his pants fell down and his penis fell near her vagina,” the prosecutor, Joseph Grasso, said in court.



At that point, something came over him, Khan claimed.



“Defendant then stated that he did lift up her skirt and he tried to put his penis inside of her,” the prosecutor added.



Sources previously said Khan admitted to suffering “uncontrollable urges,” and said that this was the first time he acted on them.



Fuertes lay half-dressed in 32-degree weather for two hours before she was found, conscious but “incoherent,” at around 2 a.m., according to the criminal complaint.



She suffered a broken spine, rib fractures and bruising on her chest and neck, among other injuries, according to court papers.



Prosecutors noted investigators have collected significant surveillance footage that places Khan at the scene and traces him back to his house.



He was ordered held without bond and is due back in court on Jan. 15.



His defense attorney asked the judge that he be placed in protective custody while he is behind bars.



Khan allegedly followed Fuertes from Liberty Avenue onto 127th Street, where he came up behind her, threw her to the ground and attacked and sexually assaulted her, police said.



“There was some sort of physical contact between the two … causing both of them to fall to the ground, where they landed behind a parked car,” Deputy Chief of Detective Bureau Queens South Joseph Kenny said earlier Friday.

Former secretary of state John Kerry, who along with his wife Teresa Heinz is estimated to be worth $1 billion, on Friday referred to the $1.7 billion payment the United States made to Iran in 2016 as a “little bit of money.”



Discussing President Donald Trump’s claims that the Obama administration helped fund the Iranian regime’s terror initiatives, Kerry told CNN that the Obama administration saved American taxpayers from accruing interest by settling old debt when it did.



“We gave them a little bit of money that was released in that period of time, not as part of the nuclear arrangement,” Kerry said. “But the fact is the [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] had all the money it wanted. The IRGC wasn’t starving at that point in time, and in fact, Iran owed billions upon billions of dollars. Most of that money went to pay off their debts and to facilitate their economic initiatives.”



Kerry admitted in 2016 that the billions in sanctions relief Iran got under the nuclear deal would go partly to financing terrorism.



“Money is fungible in any budget,” he said on Friday.



The Obama administration paid Iran $400 million, plus an additional $1.3 billion in interest from taxpayer funds, ostensibly to settle a dispute over military equipment Iran purchased but never received following the shah’s fall in 1979. Critics, however, described the payment as a “ransom” to secure the freedom of American hostages being held by the Tehran regime.



“Obama officials are the last people on earth who are pretending that the $1.7 billion wasn’t a ransom payment,” one foreign policy consultant who worked with Congress on the nuclear deal told the Washington Free Beacon at the time. “Everyone else knows what happened, which is that we rewarded Iranian hostage takers.”…



As part of the nuclear deal Kerry brokered, Iran received $150 billion in sanctions relief in the form of unfrozen assets held in banks around the globe. The U.S. Treasury Department estimated Iran had roughly $55 billion left over of that amount after fulfilling its other financial obligations, according to the Washington Post.



Iran is the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism, backing such proxy groups as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip….



The United States and its allies also say Iran is responsible for bringing down a Ukrainian airliner with a surface-to-air missile it fired during its onslaught against Iraq, killing all 176 aboard.
