Ignoring the Errors of Roman Catholicism

Many evangelical pastors and teachers are quick to warn their flocks about the damnable errors of Mormonism and Jehovah's Witnesses, but when it comes to Roman Catholicism, they avoid its fatal gospel like the plague. This is shocking and disturbing because the combined population of Mormons and JW's is only 26 million, while the Roman Catholic Church has over 1.4 billion precious souls who need to hear the Gospel. The unwillingness of evangelical leaders to include Roman Catholicism among the false religions of the world is upsetting because it discourages evangelism in this huge mission field.

Unity Accords with Catholics Cause Confusion

Rarely, if ever, do we hear of an evangelical marrying a Mormon or a Jehovah's Witness. Yet every week we get emails and phone calls from concerned parents whose son or daughter is pursuing marriage with a Catholic. Is this because pastors boldly forewarn their congregation about the heresies of these cults but silently shy away from any mention of Roman Catholicism's distorted gospel? It appears we are witnessing the devastating consequences of the unity accords between Evangelicals and Roman Catholics that imply we share a common faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thousands of Catholics die every day never knowing they were deceived because these unity accords have discouraged evangelism.

Unity at the Expense of Truth is Treason

Throughout the history of the church, Satan has unleashed his fiery darts against the Gospel of God. He is most successful when he seduces people to compromise the Gospel for the sake of unity. Charles Spurgeon could not have given us a more sober warning when he said, "To pursue union at the expense of truth is treason to the Lord Jesus." This is what over 600,000 evangelicals have done by signing unity accords with Catholics. There can be no God-honoring unity when the purity and exclusivity of the Gospel is at stake. We must avoid being unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Cor. 6:14-18).

Catholic Clergy Preaches a False Gospel

Any religious teaching or tradition that adds to, or takes away from, the perfect, finished, all-sufficient work of Jesus Christ is a false gospel. That is why the apostle Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, wrote: "If we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a Gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!" (Gal. 1:8). That means every clergy member of the Catholic Church is under divine condemnation for preaching another gospel. Rome's way of salvation is not only another gospel, but it is the antithesis of the true Gospel. It focuses on what Catholics must DO to be saved instead of what Jesus has DONE to save sinners. According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, their list of requirements includes: they must be baptized (1256), receive sacraments (1129), go to purgatory for the purification of sins (1030), do good works (2016), keep the law (2068) and participate in the weekly sacrifice of the Mass (1405) for salvation. Rome's false gospel shuts the gates of heaven to those who are trying to enter it. There is nothing more diabolical than deceiving people about life's most critical issue.

Catholicism Rejects God's Promise of Eternal Life

The promise of God in the Gospel is eternal, everlasting life with our Savior (1 John 2:25). Yet this divine promise is purposefully rejected by Roman Catholicism. Catholics are taught they commit the sin of presumption if they believe in this promise of God (2092). They are said to be presuming on God's mercy because no one can know how much merit is required to achieve eternal life (2027). This doctrine keeps Catholics in bondage to their false religion, which is the goal of every false religion! Only by knowing and believing God's truth can people ever be set free from religious deception (John 8:31-32). We must warn Catholics and love them enough to tell them the truth of God's inspired Word.

Contend for the Gospel's Purity and Exclusivity

In closing, we must warn ecumenically minded leaders who are silent about the errors of Roman Catholicism. It is our prayer that they will expose the evil deeds of darkness in obedience to God's Word (Eph. 5:11). We must urge them to contend for the Gospel because many are being misled and deceived by distorted gospels that have no power to save anyone. Let us encourage people to trust the inspired Word of God over the uninspired words of men. The Bible is the only antidote to the deadly poison of false teachers. God's Word will provide:

  • truth where there is deception,
  • knowledge where there is ignorance,
  • confidence where there is doubt,
  • certainty where there is confusion, and
  • light where there is darkness.
Catholic Priests - Modern Day Judaizers

Roman Catholic priests have much in common with the first century Judaizers who were condemned for distorting the Gospel (Gal. 1:6-9). They both uphold some fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith: the deity of Christ, the Trinity, the virgin birth and the bodily resurrection of Christ. However, both distort the Gospel of Jesus Christ by adding requirements for salvation. The Judaizers added circumcision as a requirement for Gentile believers to be saved. They taught that all people must conform to the Mosaic Law for salvation. This heresy was dealt with in Acts 15 and condemned in Galatians 1:6-9. The Catholic clergy also preaches a distorted Gospel by adding requirements for salvation including baptism, the sacraments, keeping the law and good works. Catholic Clergy and the Judaizers both:

  1. profess faith in Jesus but reject Paul’s teaching
  2. add requirements for salvation
  3. are accursed for distorting the Gospel (Gal 1:6-9)
  4. rely on a sacrificial system of sin offerings
  5. use altars, candles and incense, wear long robes and offer showbread or the Eucharist.
  6. are required to keep feast days, the Law and their traditions
  7. are false teachers (Gal. 2:4)

Secret Service Corruption and Incompetence is No Secret, Consorting with criminals, ignoring White House shooters, and failing to stop an attempted assassination.

The Secret Service is coming under fire for the ease with which Thomas Matthew Crooks was able to get within 150 meters of Donald Trump, a distance U.S. Army recruits must hit human-sized targets to qualify with the M-16 rifle. Former FBI assistant director Chris Swecker also called out the Secret Service for poor communication and failing to get Trump out of the danger zone in rapid fashion. Those troubled by the attempted assassination should know that Secret Service incompetence and corruption are not new developments.

“The U.S. Secret Service has suspended four agents linked to two men accused of impersonating federal law enforcement officers who authorities said gave gifts worth thousands of dollars to agency personnel including one assigned to protect President Joe Biden’s wife,” explains an April 7, 2022 U.S. News story headlined “Four U.S. Secret Service Agents Suspended Over Ties to Phony Cops,” a reference to “Washington men” Arian Taherzadeh, 40, and Haider Ali, 35.

According to the FBI, “Taherzadeh offered to purchase a $2,000 assault rifle for a Secret Service agent assigned to protect first lady Jill Biden and told other government officials they could have access to what he claimed were official government vehicles.” Ali told witnesses that he has “connections to the Pakistani intelligence service ISI.”

According to prosecutors, “the pair had posed as special agents since at least February 2020 and offered a variety of gifts to Secret Service members and at least one Department of Homeland Security employee including rent-free apartments valued at $40,000 a year, iPhones, surveillance systems, a drone, a flat-screen television, a case for storing an assault rifle, a generator and other law enforcement paraphernalia.” The FBI found “a loaded Glock pistol, ammunition, components from disassembled guns and sniper equipment” along with “body armor, gas masks, zip ties, handcuffs, firearm storage cases, a drone, Department of Homeland Security patches and law enforcement clothing, DHS training manuals, surveillance equipment and a binder with a list of residents in the apartment complex.”

According to the Justice Department, “Ali and Taherzadeh ingratiated themselves with employees of the U.S. Secret Service because it provided them with cover and aided in their scheme.” The pair also tried to recruit at least one person to join what they claimed as an official DHS “task force.” The pair required that the recruit “be shot with an Airsoft rifle to evaluate their pain tolerance and reaction.” Prosecutors called Taherzadeh and Ali “a serious threat to the community” and “a potential risk to national security.”

Last August, Haider Ali was sentenced to 68 months in federal prison for his role in a “fraud conspiracy.”  Last December Arian Taherzadeh was sentenced to 33 months in prison for pretending to be a federal law enforcement officer to curry favor with members of the U.S. Secret Service.” The four suspended Secret Service agents were also not named, which was also the case in another failure.

In 2011, gunman Oscar Ortega-Hernandez parked his car on Constitution Avenue, fired at least seven rounds at the White House with a semi-automatic rifle, and safely fled the scene. According to a CBS report, Secret Service agents responded to the sound of gunfire but were ordered to stand down. Secret Service bosses blamed the noise on construction equipment backfiring and a gang shoot-out.

The attack was not noticed until four days later when a housekeeper spotted broken glass and plaster around Truman's balcony. The president and First Lady blasted then-Secret Service director Mark Sullivan, but deputy national security advisor Antony Blinken told reporters “I know the Secret Service is on top of this and they will take every necessary step to correct any problems.”

Ortega-Hernandez was apprehended in Pennsylvania and in 2014 sentenced to 25 years in prison for terrorism and weapons offenses. That year Secret Service director Julia Pierson resigned in the wake of security breaches such as an armed man jumping a fence and gaining access to the White House. So Tony Blinken was wrong that the Secret Service would take every necessary step to correct the problems.  Jump ahead ten years and Blinken is Biden’s Secretary of State, a big fan of the letter proclaiming Hunter Biden’s laptop “Russian disinformation,” which he knows is untrue.

Joe Biden’s pick for Secret Service director is Kimberly Cheatle the veteran of “a long and distinguished career at the Secret Service.” Biden came to “trust her judgement and counsel” and Cheatle “was easily the best choice to lead the agency at a critical moment for the Secret Service.” Cheatle’s Secret Service failed to prevent Thomas Matthew Crooks from firing rifle shots that wounded Donald Trump and killed rally attendee Corey Comperatore, a firefighter and family man, and critically wounded David Dutch and James Copenhaver.

In May, House Oversight and Accountability chairman James Comer wrote to Cheatle about “potential vulnerabilities within the Secret Service preventing it from fulfilling its mission to ensure the safety and security of its protectees.” The committee has now launched an investigation into the attempted assassination of Donald Trump and requests Cheatle’s “voluntary appearance” at a hearing on July 22. As Trump likes to say, we’ll have to see what happens.

Kamala’s Legacies Ignoring victims of terrorist mass murder, legalizing crime . . . and voter fraud.

One day before the deadline, California Gov. Gavin Newsom scrapped plans to place on the November 5 ballot a measure to compete with an already qualified proposition to reform Proposition 47. The measure, passed by voters on November 4, 2014, is a legacy item for Kamala Harris, who could be on the ballot for president this November 5.

As California’s attorney general in 2014, Harris named a proposition that changed thefts of property valued under $950 from felonies to misdemeanors. Harris called it the “Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act” but failed to explain how legalizing crime made schools and neighborhoods safer. She has claimed she took no position on the act, but the ballot language has exposed that falsehood.

Proposition 47 launched a crime wave across the state, with 31,322 vehicle break-ins in San Francisco alone in 2017, a 24-percent increase from the previous year. The measure empowered criminals to break into vehicles in broad daylight with bystanders present. The arrest rate in San Francisco, where Harris previously served as district attorney, was less than two percent, and under Proposition 47 criminals could expect at the most a citation.

The consequences of the pro-crime measure were obvious to all but the willfully blind, but the attorney general kept on the quiet side. That emboldened the terrorists embedded in the Golden State.

On December 2, 2015 at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik gunned down Robert Adams, Isaac Amianos, Bennetta Betbadal, Harry Bowman, Sierra Clayborn, Juan Espinoza, Aurora Godoy, Shannon Johnson, Larry Daniel Kaufman, Damien Meins, Tin Ngyen, Nicholas Thalasinos, Yvette Velasco, and Michael Velasco. The dead and wounded included blacks, Hispanics, Asians and immigrants, but Harris failed to call the mass murder a hate crime or even gun violence.

In a December 17 statement, attorney general Harris mentioned “those who lost their lives,” but failed to name a single victim or condemn the terrorists. In a statement one year later, Harris recalled “those who lost their lives and the loved ones they left behind,” but again named not a single victim.

This is the woman of whom President Obama proclaimed, “she is brilliant and she is dedicated and she is tough,” and “by far the best-looking attorney general in the country.”  The attorney general owes her career to Willie Brown.

As speaker of the California Assembly from 1980 to 1995, Willie Brown was by far the Golden State’s most powerful shot-caller. In 1994 Brown, 60, met Kamala Harris, a full 30 years his junior, and she became “the Speaker’s new steady,” Brown’s “girlfriend” and “frequent companion.” The two-year relationship worked out well for Harris.

Willie Brown appointed his new steady to lucrative sinecures and backed her run for district attorney in San Francisco in 2003. She promised never to seek the death penalty and kept that promise when gang member David Hill deployed an AK-47 to gun down San Francisco police officer Isaac Espinoza. Dianne Feinstein took Harris to task as she alienated police across the state.

In her 2009 Smart on Crime: A Career Prosecutor’s Plan to Make us Safer, written by ghostwriter Joan O’C. Hamilton, Harris found the number of nonviolent offenders “truly staggering” and put them at the top of her “crime pyramid.” The next year, Harris set her sights on the attorney general’s office.

Harris was so lightly regarded as the Sacramento Bee, a reliable Democrat mouthpiece, endorsed her Republican rival Steve Cooley. On election night in 2010, Cooley enjoyed a lead of 10 points and proclaimed victory. The next day, the Harris campaign proclaimed that Kamala would be the next attorney general. According to a witness on the scene, members of the Service Employees International Union, loyal to Harris, were counting the harvested ballots. Three weeks later, Harris prevailed by .8 percent. If anybody thought the election was stolen from Cooley it would be hard to blame them, and the fraudsters have other forces on their side.

Voting in American elections requires American citizenship, but California registers false-documented illegals to vote when they get their driver’s license. Democrats won’t say how many illegals vote, and the “motor voter” program has never been independently audited. In 2019, attorney general Xavier Becerra hinted that there were 10 million “immigrants” in the state, and that opens up many possibilities, especially with party cadres known as politiqueros coercing illegals into voting for Democrats. Legal voters have more than a reasonable doubt about Gavin Newsom’s victory in the 2021 recall.

California’s imported electorate is a pattern for Joe Biden, who brought in some ten million illegals, adding to the 22 million already here. In 2014 vice president Biden said the illegals were “already American citizens,” so “let people vote.”

After the debate debacle, Democrats are pressing Biden to step aside. Ten years after the “Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act,” Kamala Harris could become the nation’s first poontronage president. If her career as attorney general of California is any clue, that would be a victory for illegals, criminals, and terrorist mass murderers.
