MATTEL “EXCITED” TO RELEASE FIRST
BARBIE DOLL WEARING A HIJAB
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, and research purposes:

From criticism about sexualizing girls from too young an age to
creating a negative and unrealistic body image in girls, Barbie has long
been accorded a great deal of responsibility for the self-image of
young girls. So now Barbie, with her showy display of glamorous makeup,
jewelry and flamboyant styles, is ready to cover it all up.  Mattel has
released its first Barbie in hijab, fashioned after Muslim
Olympian Ibtihaj Muhammad.

Quran 24:31 commands women to cover so thoroughly as to reduce their
capacity to provoke temptation, and to hide their “adornments.” If a
woman does not completely cover, then she is fair game to be “abused”
(Quran 33:59).
The covering up of this free icon of Western femininity in a hijab
will be presented as a celebration of “diversity.”
Iranian-Australian
columnist Rita Panahi condemned
such celebrations in the West, following an effort in the City of
Greater Dandenong to encourage “non-Muslim women to wear a hijab for
three hours” to raise “awareness and insight.” Panahi asked relevant
questions of these “diversity” promoters:

Perhaps a celebration of sharia law involving an
adulteress being flogged in the city square…. moral police armed with
long canes who can whip women for showing too much hair or skin?
That might familiarise the locals with what happens in parts of the
world where hijabs are compulsory….It was only late last year when women
in Iran were disfigured and blinded in acid attacks for daring to
contravene the country’s strict hijab code.

How far are Barbie’s creators prepared to go now that they have waded into the waters of religion and identity politics?

We are so excited to honor Ibtihaj Muhammad with a
one-of-a-kind Barbie doll!” Mattel posted. “Ibtihaj continues to inspire
women and girls everywhere to break boundaries.

Shrouding the identity of women is breaking boundaries, all right!
The hijab is a symbol of the lower status of women in the House of
Islam, and in the House of War, it is often a public declaration of
sharia adherence and supremacist pride.

A side note about Ibtihaj Muhammad:
less than a year ago, she spoke out as a “victim” of the Trump
temporary Muslim ban on countries of concern after she was detained,
claiming that she was detained because of the Trump ban, when she was
actually detained under Obama. Muhammad also claimed that in America she
feels unsafe “all the time.”

“Mattel releases first Barbie wearing a hijab”, by Jennifer Brett, Atlanta Buzz, November 13, 2017 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

Olympic fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad is quite a doll –
literally. She’s thrilled to have inspired a Barbie in her likeness, and
especially proud that the doll will be the first Barbie to wear a
hijab. “This is a childhood dream come true,” she posted. The doll is
part of the “She-ro” line.

“We are so excited to honor Ibtihaj Muhammad with a one-of-a-kind
Barbie doll!” Mattel posted. “Ibtihaj continues to inspire women and
girls everywhere to break boundaries.”….
