Former governor of Florida Jeb Bush and current Sen. Marco Rubio tweeted their approval of the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday, which featured pop stars Shakira and Jennifer Lopez scantily-clad, engaging in numerous sexual gestures and with Lopez mounting a stripper pole. Former governor and current Sen. Rick Scott also remarked that the show was “great,” but that “America was robbed” by not including the rapper Pitbull.


“Best Super Bowl half time show ever,” Bush wrote, generating 152K likes as of press time.



“@shakira & @JLo featuring BadBunny & J Balvin with an A+ #PepsiHalftime at #SuperBowlLIV,” posted Rubio, who identifies as a “follower of Christ” on his page.



“Great halftime show from @JLo and @Shakira. But no @Pitbull? America was robbed. #Dale #LoveFL,” Scott tweeted.

The performance at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, which included the songs “Hips Don’t Lie” and “Waiting for Tonight”, was decried by many on social media as being “inappropriate,” “sexually provocative,” “nasty,” “vulgar” and “soft porn.”



“Singers J. Lo and Shakira paired up for a 15-minute raunchfest of thongs and crotch shots and stripper poles and writhing around on the floor,” also wrote Daily Wire writer Joseph Curl. “At one point in the show, the two stars stood side by side and just shook their butts. Cue closeups.”



“And throughout, the female backup dancers were even more scantily clad, while the male dancers went hardcore S&M. Often, there were children dancing on the stage,” he wrote. “The whole thing was more appropriate for J Lo’s latest stripper movie, not prime time worldwide TV.”



The Associated Press reports that Lopez told the outlet on Saturday that she believed God ordained for her to be in the event this year.



“There were many years that I thought about doing the Super Bowl and that it was something that I wanted to do and even where I was talked to about it. This is when God choose me to do it,” she said. “This is when it was meant to be. This is when it was destined to be and we’re ready and we can’t wait. I can’t wait.”



According to reports, the halftime show was meant — in part — to celebrate women’s empowerment and the performers’ Latin American heritage, but some say that it rather objectified women as sex objects.



“We have had so much positive discussion about not treating women like sexual objects, then they go and do this. You can’t cry that women need to be treated better then support this display of sexual objectifying,” one commenter wrote.



Likewise, a number of followers of Bush, Rubio and Scott took issue with their approval of the halftime show.



“It was a glorified strip show. Disgraceful that young girls watching [may] think it’s okay to exploit your body like that,” one commenter wrote to Bush.



“Seriously? You share Scripture everyday! They were literally pole dancing on stage,” another wrote to Rubio. “He was [engaging in a simulated sexual act on] her, and then they brought young girls up to dance and twerk. It’s shameful. My daughter was disgusted; my husband left the room because she was so embarrassed.”



“[A]ny public figure that would go to Twitter to specifically praise that halftime show has lost my respect,” one commented about Scott.

The Super Bowl should never have approved such a trashy performance. In this trashy to classy series, I like to examine elements of our culture that could be bettered and certainly this is an example of one of them.

(Friday Church News Notes, August 30, 2019, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – The following is excerpted from David French, “A Federal Court Strikes a Powerful Blow for Freedom of Speech and Religious Freedom,”National Review, Aug. 24, 2019: “Earlier today, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the constitutional order, limited the reach of expansive nondiscrimination laws, and protected a Christian couple from having to choose between their business and their conscience. The facts of the case are simple. The plaintiffs, Carl and Angel Larsen, are videographers who create ‘commercials, short films, and live-event productions.’ While they work with anyone of any race, sex, sexual orientation, or religion, they will not produce videos that advance viewpoints that violate their Christian beliefs. That includes videos that ‘contradict biblical truth; promote sexual immorality; support the destruction of unborn children; promote racism or racial division; incite violence; degrade women; or promote any conception of marriage other than as a lifelong institution between one man and one woman.’ The Larsens hoped to begin producing wedding videos, but Minnesota interpreted its human-rights act to require them to ‘produce both opposite-sex- and same-sex-wedding videos, or none at all.’ Minnesota would also require them to produce videos that depicted ‘same- and opposite-sex weddings in an equally positive light.’ This raised the possibility that a gay couple who didn’t like the subjective quality of a video the Larsens produced for them could seek state sanctions based on alleged sexual-orientation discrimination. With the assistance of my friends and former colleagues at the Alliance Defending Freedom, the Larsens filed suit, claiming that Minnesota’s rule would compel them to speak in support of messages they oppose. The trial court ruled in favor of the state, and the Larsens appealed. One of the key constitutional questions of our time is whether the First Amendment will retain its supremacy and potency even as nondiscrimination rules and regulations expand in scope and reach. In this case, the Eight Circuit answered with an emphatic ‘Yes,’ and it did so through a majority opinion that provided a clear roadmap for future courts and future controversies. Judge David Stras’s majority opinion begins with a simple, obvious, but crucial conclusion. The Larsens’s wedding videos are a ‘form of speech that is entitled to First Amendment protection.’ … To put it plainly, Minnesota was attempting to engage in one of the most intrusive state actions on the First Amendment. It was attempting to compel the Larsens to deliver a message they opposed. … Judge Stras understands this reality quite clearly. ‘Even antidiscrimination laws, as critically important as they are,’ he writes ‘must yield to the Constitution. And as compelling as the interest in preventing discriminatory conduct may be, speech is treated differently under the First Amendment.’ … We can expect that Minnesota will appeal to the Supreme Court, and if the Court accepts review it will be difficult to see SCOTUS reversing the court of appeals. The case that wedding videos represent protected speech is very strong, and once it’s deemed to be protected speech, the Court would have to contradict key prior precedents to overcome the Larsens’ rights of conscience and compel their speech as a condition of doing business. One should always be cautious when projecting case outcomes, but the Eighth Circuit has laid the judicial foundation for a ruling that should, ultimately, reaffirm the primacy of the Constitution in American law.”

POOREST 20% OF AMERICAS ARE RICHER ON AVERAGE THAN MOST NATIONS OF EUROPE 

(Friday Church News Notes, August 30, 2019, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – The following is excerpted from James Agresti, “Poorest 20%,” The Stream, Aug. 27, 2019: “A groundbreaking study by Just Facts has discovered that after accounting for all income, charity, and non-cash welfare benefits like subsidized housing and Food Stamps–the poorest 20% of Americans consume more goods and services than the national averages for all people in most affluent countries. This includes the majority of countries in the prestigious Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), including its European members. In other words, if the U.S. ‘poor’ were a nation, it would be one of the world’s richest. Notably, this study was reviewed by Dr. Henrique Schneider, professor of economics at Nordakademie University in Germany and the chief economist of the Swiss Federation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. After examining the source data and Just Facts’ methodology, he concluded: ‘This study is sound and conforms with academic standards. I personally think it provides valuable insight into poverty measures and adds considerably to this field of research.’ [This refutes] a July 1st New York Times video op-ed that decries ‘fake news’ and calls for ‘a more truthful approach’ to ‘the myth of America as the greatest nation on earth,’ Times producers Taige Jensen and Nayeema Raza claim that the U.S. has ‘fallen well behind Europe’ in many respects and has ‘more in common with developing countries than we’d like to admit.’ … The high consumption of America’s ‘poor’ doesn’t mean they live better than average people in the nations they outpace, like Spain, Denmark, Japan, Greece, and New Zealand. This is because people’s quality of life also depends on their communities and personal choices, like the local politicians they elect, the violent crimes they commit, and the spending decisions they make. Nonetheless, the fact remains that the privilege of living in the U.S. affords poor people with more material resources than the averages for most of the world’s richest nations. … The Times closes its video by claiming that ‘America may once have been the greatest, but today America, we’re just okay.’ In reality, the U.S. is so economically exceptional that the poorest 20% of Americans are richer than many of the world’s most affluent nations. Last year, the Times adopted a new slogan, ‘The truth is worth it.’ Yet, in this case and others, it has twisted the truth in ways that can genuinely hurt people. The Times makes other spurious claims about the U.S. in this same video, which will be deflated in future articles.”

EVANGELICAL HOMESCHOOLING CLASSICAL EDUCATION 

(Friday Church News Notes, August 30, 2019, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – The cover story for the August 2019 issue of Christianity Today is “The Rise of the Bible-Teaching, Plato-Loving, Homeschool Elitists” by Louis Markos. It describes the growth of evangelical homeschooling curriculum that provide a classical education that aims to “raise up a generation of Christians who know the Bible and who live virtuous lives, and who are also firmly grounded in the pagan classics of ancient Greece and Rome, as well as the Roman Catholic classics of the Middle Ages.” An example is Mars Hill Academy, which “balances pagan (i.e., Homer, Aristotle) and medieval Christian (i.e., Dante, Chaucer) authors with major authors from the last 500 years of European and American literature (i.e., Shakespeare, Tolstoy, Faulkner).” The author claims the movement began in the 1940s with Dorothy Sayers, who was influenced by C.S. Lewis and “was a lover of all things classical and medieval.” Based on Sayer’s work, Douglas Wilson founded Logos School in 1981. The mention of C.S. Lewis is a loud warning to those who have ears. Christianity Today thinks it is a good thing that “increasing numbers of evangelicals” have “followed Lewis” to “fantasy lands populated by wizards” and “to the Catholic Middle Ages” and to the pagan “works of ancient Greek and Rome.” Christianity Today thinks it is a good thing that “Lewis helped unlock in the evangelical soul a longing for things of which they had been taught to be suspicious: tradition, hierarchy, liturgy, sacrament, numinous awe, and literature that was not specifically Christian.” We consider this, rather, to be evidence that C.S. Lewis was a dangerous man. To be familiar with pagan works can be helpful to the Christian life and ministry (in the sense of understanding world history, for example), if carefully examined through the lens of Scripture, but to sit at the feet of pagans and to search for light in their gross darkness is unscriptural foolishness. Christianity Today admits that “this tectonic shift in the evangelical world has led significant numbers of conservative Protestants to become Catholic, Orthodox, or Anglican–not only out of a longing for liturgy and sacrament but because the classics brought with them a re-encounter with the early church fathers.” But that’s OK, they say, because “they maintain much of their passion for the Bible” and “stand at the forefront of a new conservative ecumenism.” This is nonsense. To accept false sacramental gospels that damn souls to eternal hell is neither biblical nor “conservative.” Christianity Today has been leading God’s people astray since its founding by Billy Graham in 1956. “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper” (Psalm 1:1-3).

My Introduction to my new book, Peaceful Death Threats:



If I didn’t draw Mohammad cartoons, Muslims would be peaceful?



Some Muslims actually believe that, and they act as if my “terrorism”, (yes, they call my cartoons “terrorism”, as you’ll see in the pages ahead) must be responded to in kind, with terrorism, even though they’re “peaceful”.



If you want to maintain your illusions that “Islam means peace” and that “99.9% of Muslims are peace-loving”, then this book is not for you, as you’re either a Muslim or you might as well make it official and become one. If you can’t imagine threatening to murder cartoonists over cartoons, then this book is for you.



Islam wasn’t “hijacked” by jihadists, peace was hijacked by Muslims. In my acceptance speech after I won the Mohammad cartoon contest, I asked the audience, “Why do you think we have this kind of security?”, and as the audience started to applaud, and even laugh, as they had a good idea where I was going with it, I said that it was because Islam did not mean peace. The Only reason any of us are talking about Islam is because it doesn’t mean peace. Islam hasn’t given us any reason to talk about it outside of our concern over it.



When a lone evil scumbag goes on a shooting spree in America, the “national conversation” is that it has something to do with America, that it says something about us, and that we all have to answer for it in some way. Only self-loathing leftists would define America by a small minority of evil scumbags. Yet when daily atrocities are committed by Muslims across the world, the “national conversation” crowd tells us that it “has nothing to do with Islam”, while also saying that we had it coming. They live for a chance to condemn America for things it’s not responsible for, and to exonerate Islam for things it is responsible for. These “national conversationalists” don’t want a conversation about Islam, about jihad, or about the truth. And the “national conversation” that needs to take place is about Islam and its calls for violence against non-Muslims.



As for “nice Muslims”, especially those in the West, they embody Western values that they fancifully attribute to Islam, and it’s left to “mean” people like me to have to point that fact out. The reason why many of us choose to define Islam by the behavior of its least devout Muslims is because devout Muslims are monsters. But of course, in this increasingly truthless world we’re living in, merely pointing that fact out makes me a monster.



I got a wave of death threats a few months ago from Muslims the likes of which I’ve never experienced, and my life has not been the same. Thousands of Muslims from across the world, with many from Pakistan, threatened to murder me after I was announced as the judge for a new Mohammad cartoon contest that Geert Wilders announced in the summer of 2018. Many of the threats were monotonous and I couldn’t keep up with all of them, as they came from all corners of the internet, from social media, email, YouTube, my blog, and I even got audio death threats in Facebook messenger. So the threats in this book are the “best” 400 of them.



Since I’ve been called “the most dangerous man in comics”, this book has the potential to be my most “dangerous” one yet, as it will make it more difficult for some among us to maintain their illusions about Islam and its “peaceful” followers. My “co-writers” in this book are average, everyday Muslims who think it’s normal to threaten to rape and murder a cartoonist over Mohammad cartoons. They and their culture are not to be “understood”, but condemned. This book is a good document to show that Islamic culture, at large, is a problem, and that Muslims at large want cartoonists who draw Mohammad to be murdered, by their hand, or by the hands of their more devout co-religionists. All of the thousands of Muslims who wrote me death threats want me dead, and those who didn’t write me would likely celebrate if I were murdered, or at “best”, would “understand” why I had to die. “Not all Muslims”? Not One Muslim wrote me to say, “I may not like what you do, and I may even hate it, but you have the right to draw whatever you want, and you shouldn’t be threatened or killed over it.”



Not one.



When the Muslims who’ve threatened me hear of this book, what do you think their response would be that their threats were published, and that they inspired 60 new Mohammad cartoons by me? More threats.



The threats in this book are from Muslim students, doctors, engineers, musicians, etc., and I think that will be a revelation for some, for those who still cling to the idea that it’s only “extremists” who are the problem, because seeing is believing. Seeing death threats along with the names and pictures of average Muslims might open some eyes.



After years of getting death threats, they’ve become white noise to me, in a way. They’re meant to scare me into silence and inaction, but I’m more likely to laugh at them than be terrified. But I do pause at times, at the casual, decadent evil of it all, and the mass support that it gets from far more Muslims than many would like to believe. What did Muslims do after the massacre of Charlie Hebdo? They callously ran over the dead bodies of the murdered innocents to defend Mohammad, who murdered innocents. Islam didn’t teach them to live and let live, despite whatever criticism came their way, Islam taught them that the answer to criticism is murder. That the first, natural, Islamic response is murder.



Regarding my new Mohammad cartoons in this book: I think it’s important to show Mohammad, the murderous figure who inspires Muslims to murder, alongside screenshots of the death threats over my Mohammad cartoons, which inspired even more Mohammad cartoons by me.



And to those who’ve dismissed me when I say that Hitler is Islam’s favorite Infidel, there were endless Muslims who expressed their admiration for Hitler to me, and I have a page of the “best” ones in this book, where I draw Hitler as Mohammad.



I’m well aware that most of these threats are just talk, however obscene that talk is, but unlike members of other groups, Muslims are more prone to back up their threats with violent action, and so I take their threats more seriously than I do the threats of others. And some of them get very specific and personal.



It’s one thing for Muslims to have their prohibitions, but it’s quite another thing for them to try to force their prohibitions on us. Since 9/11, we’ve waged war the way Muslims wage peace, and we’re gong to have to learn how to wage war, in order to have peace.

A new comic book features freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as a socialist heroine defeating the Republican establishment, in addition to injecting fresh blood into the Democrat party.
The popular New York Democrat who was recently ridiculed over her new Green Deal proposals leads the “Freshman Force” in a comic book from Devil’s Due Publishing, a group which brags about a previous political comic titled, Barack the Barbarian: No F#¢*s Left!
The comic’s cover shows Ocasio-Cortez standing atop a knocked-out Republican elephant, as a nervous donkey “gulps” behind her.
“Comic creators converge to celebrate the election of the most diverse group of freshman congresspersons in history, and spare no-one in this satire that takes aim at Washington,” Devil’s Due describes the new AOC comic.
The publisher says in addition to proceeds from sales going to a military charity, they will also donate a portion to RAICES.org, “a Texas nonprofit that helps families with legal advice and translation services,” according to USA Today.
The title of the comic, New Party, Who Dis?, pays homage to the 29-year-old’s rebuke of Joe Lieberman last month, where she used the phrase to mock the longtime Democrat who said her brand of Democratic socialism was not the future of the party.

FACEBOOK: THE DEVIL’S MIXING BOWL

one hand, it has benefits such as advertising churches and legitimately
keeping touch with friends. On the other hand, it is one of the greatest
tools of the devil to foster spiritual compromise. It has great
potential to corrupt through evil communications (1 Corinthians 15:33).
Facebook is the devil’s mixing bowl. It tends to mix everything
together, the holy and the unholy, the spiritual and the worldly. The
following observation is from Brian Snider, “Most people in our circles
do not have the discernment, discretion or courage to stand against
things that are wrong. For instance, when someone leaves a good church
and goes down a worldly or wicked road, many people continue to remain
friends with them and ‘Like’ everything they do. They will approve of
things on Facebook that their church and pastor plainly stand against
including immodest attire, worldly activities, wrong relationships,
wrong marriages, rebellion against church, bad doctrine…you name it.
They hear these things preached against on Sunday, but Monday morning
they approve of them on Facebook. They will not clearly and plainly
separate from folks who are going in a direction that contradicts the
doctrine of their own church. This encourages the one who is doing
wrong, weakens those who would stand against that behavior, and signals
to others that these wrong activities are okay. In doing this, they seem
to care more about the feelings of rebels than they do the feelings and
concerns of a pastor who loves and cares for them. From that
standpoint, I believe that Facebook has done untold damage to churches. I
have friends in independent, fundamental churches around the world and I
have observed that this takes place everywhere.” CONCLUDING NOTE:
Spiritual victory in the age of social media is the same as it has been
since the days of Job, who loved God and wanted to honor Him and
therefore made a covenant with his eyes (Job 31:1). The victory is in
being born again (not just a sinner’s prayer), abiding in Christ in my
everyday life, having a pilgrim mindset so that I am aware that I
presently live in a strange land filled with spiritual and moral
dangers, and having a testing mindset to guard against those dangers and
keep them out of my life. It is a continual and daily battle. It is a
mindset whereby I refuse to be manipulated by the world system and its
technology. It is the mindset whereby I will use the technology for the
glory of God within biblical boundaries, but I will not be controlled by
it and negatively influenced by it, whatever that entails, even if it
means having no Internet and no smartphone and no
social media. If I can use a technology for the glory of God without
being harmed by it, then I can use it. If not, then I don’t need it. I
am in a spiritual war, and I am fighting to win. “For the weapons of our
warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of
strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that
exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into
captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians
10:4-5).

embed the teaching of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex
rights in the school curriculum, in what campaigners have described as a
historic moment. State schools will be required to teach pupils about
the history of LGBTI equalities and movements, as well as tackling
homophobia and transphobia and exploring LGBTI identity, after ministers
accepted in full the recommendations of a working group led by the Time
for Inclusive Education (TIE) campaign. There will be no exemptions or
opt-outs to the policy, which will embed LGBTI inclusive education
across the curriculum and across subjects and which the Scottish
government believes is a world first. … Scotland has regularly been
ranked as one of the best countries in Europe in relation to legal
protections for LGBTI people … In 2016, the former Scottish Labour
leader Kezia Dugdale described the country as having ‘the gayest
parliament in the world’: at the time four of Scotland’s six party
leaders (Dugdale, the Conservatives’ Ruth Davidson, Ukip’s David Coburn
and the Greens’ Patrick Harvie) identified as lesbian, gay or bisexual.”

not to set us free from sin but to make us rich. The abundant life he
offered wasn’t eternal, it was now. We lived the prosperity gospel. …
We lived in a 10,000-square-foot mansion guarded by a private gate,
drove two Mercedes Benz vehicles, vacationed in exotic destinations, and
shopped at the most expensive stores. On top of that, we bought a $2
million ocean-view home in Dana Point, California, where another Benz
joined the fleet. … doubts would surface. What about unsuccessful
healing attempts? I learned that it was the sick person’s fault for
doubting God. Why would we speak in tongues without interpretation?
‘Don’t quench the Spirit,’ I was told. ‘He can do what he wants.’ Why
did many of our prophecies contradict the Bible? ‘Don’t put God in a
box.’ Despite the questions, I trusted my family because we were so
successful. … After graduating college and returning home, I met my
wife, Christyne. I had no idea that God would use her in bringing about
my salvation. In fact, my family and I were nervous because she didn’t
speak in tongues. … one day she pointed to a verse I had never seen: 1
Corinthians 12:30 (‘Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in
tongues? Do all interpret?’). I was shaken to the core. There it was
plain as day—not everybody has to speak in tongues. Soon, the domino
effect began. Other longstanding beliefs were failing the biblical test.
No longer did I believe that God’s purpose was to make me happy,
healthy, and wealthy. Instead, I saw that he wanted me to live for him
regardless of what I could get from
him. … I am thankful that my wife was willing to question my
insistence on speaking in tongues and that my pastor loved me enough to
disciple me out of prosperity gospel confusion.”
UNITED BIBLE SOCIETIES: UNHOLY HANDS ON GOD’S HOLY WORD

the World Council of Churches have published a book that discussed the
Bible as an ecumenical tool. It is called Your Word Is Truth: The Bible in 10 Christian Traditions.
“The publication revives a long history between the WCC and UBS of
working together to nurture engagement with Scripture as a unifying
element in ecumenical, inter-confessional relations” (Christian
Newswire, Nov. 8, 2018). The only way that the Bible can be a unifying
element in ecumenical relations (Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox) is to
misuse it. If it were interpreted literally and accurately, it would
destroy the ecumenical movement. The Bible says, “… earnestly contend
for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” (Jude 3).
Fighting for the one true faith of God’s Word is the very opposite of
ecumenical unity. If I stand up, for example, for the gospel of the
grace of Christ without works or sacraments as taught in God’s Word,
then I destroy unity with those who preach a sacramental gospel. If I
stand up for the literal interpretation of Bible prophecy, I destroy
unity with those who hold to an allegorical method of interpretation. If
I stand up for the cessation of apostolic sign gifts, I destroy unity
with those who claim to exercise those gifts. In truth, the World
Council of Churches and the United Bible Societies are enemies of the
Bible. they together because they are unified in error. They have a
false christ, a false gospel, and a false spirit. For evidence of this,

When I was in graduate school, I learned a lot about the left. One lesson was that while most liberals and conservatives abide by society's rules of order and decency, most leftists do not feel bound to live by these same rules.



I watched the way leftist Vietnam War protesters treated fellow students and professors. I watched left-wing students make "nonnegotiable demands" of college administrations. I saw the Black Panthers engage in violence — including torture and murder — and be financially rewarded by leftists.



Today, we watch leftist mobs scream profanities at professors and deans, and shut down conservative and pro-Israel speakers at colleges. We routinely witness left-wing protesters block highways and bridges; scream in front of the homes of conservative business and political leaders; and surround conservatives' tables at restaurants while shouting and chanting at them.



Conservatives don't do these things. They don't close highways, yell obscenities at left-wing politicians, work to ban left-wing speakers at colleges, smash the windows of businesses, etc.



Why do leftists feel entitled do all these things? Because they have thoroughly rejected middle-class, bourgeois and Judeo-Christian religious values. Leftists are the only source of their values. Leftists not only believe they know what is right — conservatives, too, believe they are right — but they also believe they are morally superior to all others. Leftists are Ubermenschen — people on such a high moral plane that they do not consider themselves bound by the normal conventions of civics and decency. Leftists don't need such guidelines; only the non-left — the "deplorables" — need them.



In August 2017, University of Pennsylvania law professor Amy Wax wrote a column for the Philadelphia Inquirer in defense of middle-class values. She and her co-author cited a list of behavioral norms that, as Wax, put it, "was almost universally endorsed between the end of World War II and the mid-1960s."



They were: "Get married before you have children and strive to stay married for their sake. Get the education you need for gainful employment, work hard, and avoid idleness. Go the extra mile for your employer or client. Be a patriot, ready to serve the country. Be neighborly, civic-minded, and charitable. Avoid coarse language in public. Be respectful of authority. Eschew substance abuse and crime."



She later wrote in the Wall Street Journal, "The fact that the 'bourgeois culture' these norms embodied has broken down since the 1960s largely explains today's social pathologies — and re-embracing that culture would go a long way toward addressing those pathologies."



For her left-wing colleagues at Penn Law School, this list was beyond the pale. About half of her fellow professors of law — 33 of them — condemned her in an open letter. And Wax wrote in the Journal, "My law school dean recently asked me to take a leave of absence next year and to cease teaching a mandatory first-year course."



The Pennsylvania chapter of the left-wing National Lawyers Guild condemned her for espousing bourgeois values and questioned "whether it is appropriate for her to continue to teach a required first-year course."



As regards traditional Jewish and Christian codes of conduct, just read the left's contempt for Vice President Mike Pence's religiosity. They fear him more than President Trump solely for that reason. One would think that leftists, as sensitive as they are to sexual harassment of women, would admire Pence's career-long policy of never dining alone with a woman other than his wife. On the contrary, they mock him for it.



With such high self-esteem and no middle-class, bourgeois or Judeo-Christian values to guide them, many leftists are particularly vicious people.



The opening skit of "Saturday Night Live" this past weekend — Matt Damon's mockery of Judge Brett Kavanaugh — provided a timely example. It is unimaginable that a prominent conservative group or individual would feature a skit mocking Kavanaugh's accuser Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. Indeed, Kavanaugh noted his 10-year-old daughter's prayer for his accuser, and a political cartoonist promptly drew a cartoon with her praying that God forgive her "angry, lying, alcoholic father for sexually assaulting Dr. Ford."



Is there an equally prominent conservative public figure on the right who has ever said "F—- Obama!" on national television just as Robert De Niro shouted, "F—- Trump!" at the recent Tony Awards?



Now, why would De Niro feel he could shout an obscenity at the president of the United States with millions of young people watching him? Because he is not constrained by middle-class or Judeo-Christian moral values. In Nietzsche's famous words, De Niro, like other leftists, is "beyond good and evil," as Americans understood those terms until the 1960s.



In 2016, at a Comedy Central roast of actor Rob Lowe, the butt of the jokes was Ann Coulter, not Lowe. They mostly mocked her looks, and if there is something crueler than publicly mocking a woman's looks, it's hard to identify. For example, "Saturday Night Live" cast member Pete Davidson said, "Ann Coulter, if you're here, who's scaring the crows away from our crops?"



There surely are mean conservatives — witness some of the vile comments by anonymous conservative commenters on the internet. And it is a moral scandal that Ford has received death threats. The difference in left-wing meanness is the meanness of known — not anonymous — people on the left. They don't hide behind anonymity because they do not feel bound by traditional notions of civility, for which they have contempt.



Now you can understand why the left hates Mike Pence, a man who has, by all accounts, led a thoroughly honorable life. He — and other evangelical Christians and Orthodox Jews — tries to live by a code that is higher than him.



That ethic is what Ubermenschen seek to destroy.



They are succeeding.

One thing I learned watching the witch trial of Brett Kavanaugh on MSNBC, is that a prestigious university in New York has a Vice President for Social Justice. (She is an MSNBC commentator). Her Orwellian title is but one of many signs that our country is already on the threshold of 1984; the Judiciary Committee circus is another.
In her comments on the hearings, the Vice President for Social Justice, Maya Wiley, was clearly out for blood, and had no interest in evidence, due process, or the facts. She is also of course both a woman, a woman “of color” and a lesbian. In other words, she occupies three of the top rungs in the hierarchy of the oppressed – all bombs waiting to blow up in the face of any straight white male who stumbles into their cross-hairs.
Any fair-minded observer of the Kavanaugh proceedings would have noted that no one – Republican or Democrat – so much as laid a glove on his female accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, even though she had come forward to destroy the life of an exemplary individual and his family. No one, dared to do so. Call this feminine or victim privilege. Kavanaugh’s high school yearbooks with tales of drinking were fair game, but Ford’s – which openly talk of the girls’ sexual promiscuity and boast of girls passing out at drinking parties – were not. Nor were her extensive political connections to the anti-Trump left, the pro-abortion movement, the Democratic Party and even the law firm involved in the Steele dossier.
Yes, the sexual crime prosecutor established that Ford lied to the committee when she said she couldn’t come to Washington for the hearings because she was afraid of flying. In fact, as she admitted under questioning, she has frequently flown all over the world for pleasure. But no one actually confronted her about this. For example, no one asked her directly, “If you were brazen enough to lie to a congressional committee about this, why should we believe you in regard to anything else?”
Yes the same prosecutor gently asked Ford why she thought her best friend Leland Keyser, whom she claimed was present at the party and would corroborate her story, in fact refuted it, saying that she was never at such a party, and the one in question never happened. Ford gave a transparently evasive answer saying her friend had (unspecified) health issues, while never explaining what they were or why that should cause her to contradict what Ford had claimed.
Actually, all the alleged witnesses to the party where the incident was supposed to have taken place have denied that they were there. The one witness who was allegedly in the room where she claimed the incident took place says he wasn’t there. But none of the senators had the temerity to confront her directly with the obvious question: why should we believe your inflammatory claims about Judge Kavanaugh given that no one you have named supports any piece of your story? Moreover, no one asked her “How do you feel about besmirching the reputation of a stellar individual, and bringing incalculable pain to his family by advancing claims that no one corroborates? How can you say that you are 100% sure an incident happened, when you can’t remember anything else accurately about the evening? Did your lawyers instruct you to say 100%? What actually did your lawyers prompt you to say in your prepared statement?
No one said to her: you signed a letter attacking President Trump’s border policies and were able to get the anti-Trump ACLU to publish it; you contacted an anti-Trump paper, the Washington Post, to make your charges; you turned first to Democrats who are sworn to “resist” – actually sabotage –the Trump presidency and his judicial nominees; and you accepted attorneys recommended by Democrats, who are activist Democrat, anti-Trump lawyers. Can we conclude, therefore, that there might be a political motive behind your decision to bring up these character-ruining accusations about a rough-housing you allegedly received 37 years ago when you and Kavanaugh were too young to even vote?
No one dared to ask these questions or to vigorously pursue problematic areas of her testimony and behavior. Instead everyone expressed sympathy for her and her pain in testifying, and said how credible she sounded – even though, unlike Kavanaugh’s presentation, hers was vetted and coached by lawyers, and even though it amounted to character assassination if her memory was false.
At the bottom of these asymmetries lies the fact that despite half a century of women’s “liberation” and “hear me roar” proclamations the feminist attitude towards women is still Victorian. Women are fragile violets who wilt before the raised voices and impassioned claims of male innocence. But this image is a one way mirror. Let a moment go by and then, when they or their defenders are on the counter-attack, hear them roar. Senator Mazie Hirono put it mind-numbingly well: “Men should just shut up and stand up (for their female accusers of course).”
This is the ideologically constructed atmosphere, which makes a latter-day witch trial like the Judiciary hearings possible. Christine Blasey Ford’s story is unbelievable on its face. She claims that after the alleged incident at the alleged party, where three of her friends (who have denied it) were allegedly present, she fled. Here are some questions that were not asked:
How did she get past those friends without them seeing her and her distress?
How could she not have warned her best friend, Leland Keyser, that there were two potential rapists in the house, if that’s what she thought?
How did she get home?
How did her best friend not ask her the next day why she left without her, or what happened?
Why was this such a trauma she could not tell her best friend? One can understand why she would want to conceal from her parents that she had gone to a drinking party with boys, but her friend who was allegedly there? She doesn’t even claim that she was raped, only that she was frightened in an incident that could have happened at any of the drunken parties she might have attended as described in her high school yearbook.
On the face of it, Christine Blasey Ford’s story is not only unsubstantiated. It isn’t credible. The destruction of Brett Kavanaugh’s reputation is the equivalent of a modern-day lynching – the third that Democrats have orchestrated in the last twenty-seven years. It’s despicable. At least Republicans like Lindsey Graham have laid that charge at the door of the Democratic culprits who worked so hard to accomplish it. But, as a nation, we have obviously not reached the point where we can grant women true equality by confronting their lies and their reckless accusations with the same candor and frankness we would if they were coming out of the mouths of men.

Comparison of Two Presidents: President Trump versus President Obama – Their First 600 Days
On Friday former President Barack Obama gave a speech in Illinois where he was critical of the current President while never referring to President Trump as “President”.  Obama then took credit for President Trump’s economy.

Sean Hannity on FOX News shared parts of Obama’s speech and compared it to events from the Obama era –

As we approach President Trump’s first 600 days in office, we decided to compare his economic results to those of Obama for the exact same time period.  We start with the stock market results.

After President Obama was elected President the already low stock market crashed.  When Trump was elected the stock market skyrocketed.  The markets are a gauge of the economy and include expectations of the future.

The day President Obama was elected President, November 4th, 2008, the DOW stood at 9,625.  Immediately however, the DOW began to tank and by March 9, 2009, the DOW could go down no further as it landed at 6,547 for a decrease of more than 30%.

After President Trump was elected the DOW exploded.  On November 8th, 2016, the DOW stood at 18,332.  Since that date the DOW has soared and it never looked back.

Not only has the DOW skyrocketed since Donald Trump was elected President, the market’s rise is record breaking.  Since the 2016 election, the DOW has closed at new record all-time highs 99 times!  (President Obama never saw a new all-time high in the DOW his entire first term and only saw 105 all-time closing highs from his first election win until Trump’s.)

President Trump’s first year in office (2017) saw the most all-time stock market closing highs (71) as well as the largest increase in DOW history (4,956 points).  Prior to 2017, no year in the DOW’s more than 100-year history ever saw the DOW increase by more than 3,500 points, let alone 4,900.  The most all-time highs in a year prior to 2017 was 69 in 1995.

Since President Trump was elected President the DOW tied the record for the most all-time closing highs in a row.  In January of 1987 President Reagan saw the DOW increase to new all-time highs a record 12 days in a row.  In February of 2017, President Trump matched Reagan’s record.

The DOW reached its fastest 500 point increase between major milestones under President Trump.  In January of this year the DOW surpassed 26,000 and six days later the DOW surpassed 26,500.  Under President Trump the DOW has seen the fastest 1,000; 2,000; 3,000; 4,000; 5,000; 6,000 and 7,000 point increases in DOW history.   No similar records occurred during the Obama years.

Also, President Trump didn’t ride an Obama wave, the DOW under Obama went down in 2015 and stayed relatively flat until the 2016 election.

Russell 2000

The Russell 2000 is a major index of US small cap stocks recognized throughout the financial industry. The 2000 companies in the Russell 2000 are the bottom 2000 companies in the Russell 3000. These companies have seen incredible results as well since President Trump was elected President.  The Russell 2000 reached 31 new highs in 2017 and this year already has reached 30 new all-time highs. 

The Russell 2000 never reached a new high in Obama’s first 600 days and only reached 3 new all-time highs in his entire first term!  The other major indices are all the same, recording massive gains since President Trump was elected into office with dismal results in Obama’s first 600 days in office.

GDP and Debt

According Rex Sinquefield at Forbes in October of 2016 –

The Obama recovery of the last seven years remains the worst in postwar American history. Average gross domestic product (GDP) growth since the bottom of the recession in 2009 was barely above 2.1% per year. The average since 1949 is well above 4% per year during the previous 10 expansions.

This result is not just bad, it is catastrophic.  The average American should not be wondering if his or her income is a bit above or below 2007 levels. Just by historical averages, the average American should be 20% better off than in 2007. And this slow growth is settling in as a permanent new-abnormal.

I believe the root cause of abysmal growth is the huge tax increases imposed by Obama and the Democrats in Congress since 2008. The most harmful were the increase in the capital gains tax from 15 to 20 percent, the increase in top bracket income from 35 to 39.6 percent, and the new tax of 3.8 percent on investment income in the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The massive increase in regulatory burden through the ACA and Dodd-Frank bills are also crushing, but unfortunately are harder to measure.

President Trump however last quarter reached a GDP of 4.2%.

If young adults are America’s future, then they better get their act together.
Today, over 30 percent of 18 to 34-year-olds live with their parents or other family members. Meanwhile, marriage rates and fertility rates in the United States have both hit record lows in recent years. Instead of coddling these self-absorbed Millennial narcissists well into their adult years, we need to be kicking them out of the nest and encouraging them to learn to fend for themselves. In many instances, if they do not learn how to act like adults by the time they are 35, they never will. It is time for parents all over America to exercise some tough love, because we are facing a major national crisis.
If you go all the way back to the mid-1970s, well over half of all 18 to 34-year-olds were already married and lived with their new spouse in their new households.
But today the most common living arrangement for those in that age group is living with Mommy and Daddy…
In 1975, when the oldest Boomers were 29, 57% of 18 to 34- year-olds lived with a spouse in their own household. Even as late as 1990, almost half lived with a partner. But in 2016, 31% were living in their parents’ home, making it the new, most common living arrangement for young adults, according to Census data.
Yes, I know that life is rough and housing is expensive and good jobs are hard to find.
But that is what being an adult is all about – overcoming the tough times and learning to stand on your own.
And because our young people are not getting out on their own, a lot fewer of them are getting married and having children. Here are some more numbers from Axios…
  • In 2017, 57% of millennials were never married. In 1985 — when boomers were around the same age — only a third had never been married, Pew Research’s Richard Fry told Axios. Even accounting for unmarried living partners does not make up the difference, he said.
  • Having fewer children: When Boomers were in their 20s, the fertility rate was 2.48, well beyond the replacement level of 2.1. Today, it is just 1.76.
  • When a recent survey asked why they were having fewer kids, most young adults said “child care is too expensive.”
Sadly, a lot of parents actively encourage their children to put off marriage and children. I have actually listened to many of these conversations personally. The young people are told that they cannot be “tied down” while they are getting an “education”, and that “pursuing a career” must come first.
So has this approach made us happier as a nation?
Well, this may or may not be related, but according to the CDC the suicide rate in the United States has gone up almost 30 percent since 1999…
“Suicide rates in the United States have risen nearly 30 percent since 1999, and mental health conditions are one of several factors contributing to suicide,” the CDC researchers wrote in their report.
“From 1999 to 2015, suicide rates increased among both sexes, all racial/ethnic groups, and all urbanization levels.”
We are not a happy country, and it is time for a change.
Unfortunately, it is not going to be easy to turn things around because the process begins very early. Our young people are not prepared for life as adults because the education system in this nation is a complete joke.

I know, because I spent 20 years in the system. I graduated from public high school and then I went on to spend an additional 8 years at public universities.
We are witnessing the systematic “dumbing down” of America, and our schools are producing an endless stream of brain-dead zombies. One study that was conducted not too long ago found that one-third of all high schools in the city of Baltimore did not have a single student that was proficient in math…
An alarming discovery coming out of City Schools. Project Baltimore analyzed 2017 state testing data and found one-third of High Schools in Baltimore, last year, had zero students proficient in math.
You would figure that every school would have at least a few nerdy kids that were good with numbers, but apparently that is not the case in Baltimore.
And of course Baltimore is far from alone. Just consider the following numbers…
After leading the world for decades in 25-34-year-olds with university degrees, the U.S. is now in 12th place. The World Economic Forum ranked the U.S. at 52nd among 139 nations in the quality of its university math and science instruction in 2010.
According to the 2009 National Assessment of Educational Progress, 68% of public school children in the U.S. do not read proficiently by the time they finish third grade. And the U.S. News & World reported that barely 50% of students are ready for college-level reading when they graduate…
And in case you are tempted to think that last number is exaggerated, PBS has reported that in one recent year more than 200 colleges had to place “more than half of incoming students in at least one remedial course”…
Data from 911 two- and four-year colleges revealed that 96 percent of schools enrolled students who required remediation in the 2014-15 academic year, the most comprehensive recent numbers. At least 209 schools placed more than half of incoming students in at least one remedial course.
It isn’t as though most college courses are very challenging either. The truth is that the family dog could have passed most of the courses that I ever had to sit through.
And instead of teaching our kids useful skills that can be used in the marketplace, many of these courses are all about indoctrinating them to see the world in a particular way…
Colleges nationwide are teaching students about tacos, hooking up and country music’s “homophobic and racist” message — but those are just a few examples, as classes such as “Queer Religion” and “Racial Capitalism” become the new norm.
If we want America to have any sort of a positive future, we need to completely change our approach to education, and then we need to kick our kids out of the nest when they reach a certain age so that they can learn to be adults.
Because right now what we are doing is not working, and as a result we have a giant mess on our hands.
