Buddha Day in Haitian Catholic Church:

_________________________________________________________________

In light of the recent Catholic-Buddhist Fourth Colloquium, and other joint events, http://www.indcatholicnews.com/news.php?viewStory=22584, it is not surprising that this ecumenical apostate symbiosis would confer a Catholic Imprimatur/Nihil Obstat on persons and organizations willing to adapt the paganism of Buddhism with pseudo-Christianity such as that found in the Roman Catholic Church, under the guise of some alleged common ground of mysticism and social programs.
“Catholic” Congressman Tim Ryan of Ohio describes how he was influenced by Catholic contemplative practices such as “breath prayer” and developed a “side life” of Buddhist mindfulness practices after going to a retreat given by Jon Kabat-Zinn, and before he “came out”.
Now, he unashamedly spends his energies and taxpayer monies on going to other states and conferences spreading this pagan philosophy and mystical practice as a type of apologist/missionary. He says near the end that “if it hurts (him) politically, (you’ll) always have the salvation of being yourself“. As a Catholic, he probably knows little to nothing of salvation in Christ alone, since his church repudiated and condemned the true gospel and the five solas of the Protestant Reformation.
Romans 1:16-“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
Acts 4:12-“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

On February 18 and 22, 2013, we posted three reports about Tim Ryan’s interest in seeing “mindfulness”, a Buddhist rooted mystical practice, in schools, the military, hospitals, among veterans, and just about anywhere. Yes, he’s still at it in full force, as these videos show:

REPOSTED: ROMA DOWNEY NEW AGE ADVOCATE PARTNERS WITH WOMEN OF FAITH

Lighthouse Trails Research reports that Roma Downey, New Age advocate, is joining arms with “Women of Faith”, and warns, as before, that Christian women should avoid their conferences.

Max Lucado, contemplative proponent and believer in “baptismal regeneration” also promotes “Women of Faith”:

A number of other Word of Faith heretics and rock groups will be at this convention, so avoid!

MercyMe Rock Group:
See: Way of Life:
file:///C:/Users/John/Downloads/Directory_of_Contemporary_Worship_Musicians%20(1).pdf: Select quotes:
“MercyMe is a rocking contemporary band that is ecumenical and charismatic. In early
2011 they included Roman Catholic Matt Maher on their Rock & Worship Roadshow. It is obvious that the members of MercyMe fill  their minds and hearts with a lot of licentious secular rock. MercyMe’s popular “Word of God Speak” worship song is pure charismatic mysticism. Consider the lyrics:
“Word of God speak, would you pour down like rain, washing my eyes to see our majesty. To be still and know that you’re in this place, please let me stay and rest in your holiness. … Finding myself in the midst of you, beyond the music, beyond the noise. All that I need is to be with you and in the quiet I hear your voice.” This “open yourself to the flow of the Spirit” has led to all sorts of unscriptural doctrines and practices.”

Third Day Rock Group:
See: Way of Life: Select quotes:
“One of the themes of CCM is ecumenical unity, and that is evident in Third Day’s “Come Together” album. Third Day performed for the Roman Catholic Youth Rally in 2011, which featured Pope Benedict XVI and a Catholic mass during which a piece of bread allegedly became Jesus.”

Mark Lowry:
See: Way of Life: Select quotes:
Mark Lowry labels living standards and ecclesiastical separation “legalism”Lowry’s tirade against “legalism” is a smokescreen for his rebellion against Bible-believing Christianity. Lowry’s ecumenical, positive-only philosophy is evident in his attitude toward preaching on Hell. In 1997, Lowry joined Roman Catholic Kathy Troccoli and 40 other CCM artists to record Love One Another, a song with an ecumenical theme. In an article in CCM Magazine, Lowry praised Mother Teresa and Princess Diana. Lowry had no word of warning about Mother Teresa’s false gospel that has caused multitudes
to die with a false hope.”

David Cloud’s Way of Life reports:
Roma Downey, the Roman Catholic co-creator (with her husband, Mark Burnett) of the History Channel’s popular “The Bible” miniseries, says Pope Francis is “a new pope of hope” (“Roma Downey,” Christian Post, April 4, 2013). Here is the promotion video of “The Bible” series:

Downey, famous for her role as “the angel Monica” in the new-agey TV series “Touched by an Angel,” plays the part of Mary in “The Bible” miniseries. She says the example of Pope Francis will cause “the seeds of hope to flourish in people’s hearts and people’s lives.” In an earlier interview, Downey said, “I have prayed to Mary and loved her my whole life” (“The Bible: An Epic Mini-Series,” Catholiclane.com, Feb. 28, 2013). Roma attended the University of Santa Monica http://www.universityofsantamonica.edu/offering Master’s degrees in Spiritual Psychology“founded by New Age spiritual and self-help guru John Roger” (“Roma Downey Happy Out of Spotlight,” Beck/Smith Hollywood, April 23, 2013). She says that she listens to books on tape by New Age guru Eckhart Tolle, who teaches the divinity of man. The creators of “The Bible” miniseries have not been afraid to add to and change God’s Word.

Lighthouse article in full, unedited:

Lighthouse Trails first addressed concerns about the Women of Faith conferences in 2006. In an article, we stated:

Women of Faith is a Christian franchise that has held conferences for over 3 million women since its inception in 1996. In 2000, Christian publisher Thomas Nelson bought the Women of Faith franchise and has a strong influence in the organization. Nearly all of the regular Women of Faith speakers are Thomas Nelson authors, and Thomas Nelson books are sold at the Women of Faith conferences, thus women attending the conferences will get a hearty dose of Thomas Nelson.
In light of books published by Thomas Nelson that have contemplative slants, women attending these conferences should use discernment and wisdom. Below is a list of some Thomas Nelson books and authors that have New Age and/or contemplative content. Incidentally, nearly all of these books below are sold through the Women of Faith online bookstore, including Yoga for Christians and The Secret Message of Jesus:
Yoga for Christians by Susan Bordenkircher
The Secret Message of Jesus by Brian McLaren
Cure for the Common Life by Max Lucado
Speaking My Mind by Tony Campolo
Celebration of Discipline (Spanish) by Richard Foster
The Sacred Romance by John Eldredge
Turn My Mourning into Dancing by Henri Nouwen
How to Make the Rest of Your Life the Best of Your Life by Mark Victor Hansen
Seeing What is Sacred by Ken Gire
So You Want to Be Like Christ (Workbook) by Chuck Swindoll

In 2007, Lighthouse Trails posted an article titled “10, 000 Expected to Attend Women of Faith Conference.”  In that article, we stated that the “women who attend Women of Faith conferences will be exposed to mystical spirituality, and because they trust Women of Faith, they will be caught unaware and put in harm’s way.”
In 2010, we posted John Lanagan’s article “Why Are Women of Faith Promoting Mystic/Emerging Brian McLaren?”  Lanagan expressed his concerns about Women of Faith including the fact that the organization was selling Brian McLaren’s books. Lanagan stated:

When a well known organization like Women of Faith is the reason women are exposed to false teaching, whether through exposure to The Message paraphrase, or to the apostate rebellion of Brian McLaren, this should not be accepted with a yawn and a shrug. . . .  Is Women of Faith on its way to purveying a generic spirituality?

We fear we must say yes to John Lanagan’s question. Women of Faith is going from the frying pan into the fire. In a June 21stChristian Post article, “Mark Burnett, Roma Downey Partner With Women of Faith, ‘Believe God Can Do Anything’ Tour,”  it explains how Women of Faith “has partnered with ‘The Bible’ producers Mark Burnett and Roma Downey to incorporate parts of the highly successful History Channel program into its ‘life-changing’ tour. That probably sounds UN-alarming to most people. After all, what could be wrong with a  program called The Bible?  And the series (now seen by over 100 million people), The Bible,  is being promoted widely by many Christian organizations and ministries with a broad marketing target.
It was concerning enough knowing these past several years that Women of Faith introduced their women to Brian McLaren and other emergent-type names. But Roma Downey falls as much in the New Spirituality camp as McLaren, if not more. First of all, Roma promotes the Roman Catholic church. In an article we posted earlier this year,Rick Warren Endorses 2013 Book, “Catholics Come Home” – Calls Catholic Evangelization “Critically Important,” we quoted Downey as saying this about the Catholics Come Home book: “Catholics Come Home inspires each of us to share God’s love with others, in order to help change the world for the better, for eternity!” And, in a book titled Practical Praying: Using the Rosary to Enhance Your Life, there is a companion “Meditation” CD by Roma Downey that comes with the book.
But Roma Downey isn’t just a Catholic promoter. She is a New Age/New Spirituality promoter. Within the pages of a book titledLoyalty to Your Soul by Ron and Mary Hulnick (published in 2010 by the New Age publisher, Hay House), Downey endorses the book saying:

As a USM [ University of Santa Monica – a New Age metaphysical school] graduate, I know firsthand the value I received from participating with Ron and Mary  in the Master’s degree Program in Spiritual Psychology. I am so grateful to haveLoyalty to Your Soul to sweetly remind me of all I have learned. Let’s just say that I went from playing an angel on TV to living more of an angelic life every day. The teachings in this beautiful book have sent me on a journey to the very center of my own being where, wrapped in the safe wings of Love, I feel as though I have come home.

Downey’s endorsement in the Hulnick’s book is nestled in with full-blown New Agers like Barbara Marx Hubbard, Joan Borysenko, and Gay Hendricks (The Corporate Mystic). By the way, Neale Donald Walsch, the New Ager who said that Hitler did the Jews a favor by killing them, wrote the foreword to Loyalty to Your Soul.
Clearly, Downey read this book and resonates deeply with it to say what she did about it. To get an idea of this “journey” that Downey is on, listen to a few quotes from Loyalty to Your Soul:

Center your awareness in your heart and consciously look for the Loving Essence in the person in your presence. By doing so, you’re signifying your respect for the Soul before you . . .  Maintain awareness that you’re in conversation with another Divine Being who is engaged in having a human experience. (p. 209)
We ask for the presence, protection, guidance, and Love of the Divine Beings  who work with each of us. (from the “Invocation” – emphasis added
“When people speak of spirituality, they simply mean awareness of the sacred reality of the Divine Essence within and beyond all creation.” (p. 8, quoting favorably a New Age “spiritual teacher”)
For the awakening person, there is a growing yearning for time in the silence. There is a sense of needing time and space for contemplation, meditation, walking in nature, and just plain being alone. Attuning to the inner channel of Divine Love is supported by quiet moments. (p. 27)
You begin to recognize others as Divine Beings, and the situations and circumstances of your life as learning devices. (p. 31)

Those familiar with New Age teachings will recognize such statements as being the core essence of the occult (that man is divine).Loyalty to Your Soul is a contemporary version of A Course in Miracles (the New Age book Warren B. Smith talks about in his biography, The Light That Was Dark).
In addition to endorsing Loyalty to Your Soul, Downey also endorsed a book called Angels in My Hair: the true story of a modern day Irish mystic by Lorna Bryne. The book is about spirit guides in people’s lives.
We find it disconcerting to know that someone with Downey’s spiritual propensities, who attended a New Age university, helped to create a program on God’s Word.
So, the question we have is this: Now that Women of Faith has “partnered” with Roma Downey, will the millions of women who attend Women of Faith conferences be led down the same path Downey has found herself on? Perhaps we should ask Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer,
 Lisa Harper
(See Lighthouse Trails brief description of Lisa Harper at http://www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com/blog/?p=10843, with a quote from this link: “In looking at her 2011 book, Stumbling into Grace, she is quoting several major contemplatives: Henri Nouwen, Thomas Merton, Brennan Manning, Richard Foster, Anne Lamott, and at least one New Age author, Gerald May. We don’t know that she is advocating contemplative practices in her book, but clearly she is reading from and gleaning from the mystics and passing those “insights” onto her readers.”)
and Sheila Walsch the answer to that question – they will be the speakers at the Women of Faith “Unwrap the Bible” conference in 2014 (see video below where Downey promotes this conference). But then, you might get a biased answer – Moore, Shirer, Harper, and Walsch are all proponents of contemplative spirituality, and those who understand the dynamics of contemplative prayer know that it is a comfortable companion to the ”theology” behind A Course in Miracles.
Evangelical and Protestant Christianity are becoming synonymous with contemplative spirituality. In other words, where you find evangelical and Protestant Christianity, you will increasingly find contemplative spirituality (i.e., Spiritual Formation). And in this paradigm shift, we can see that Alice Bailey’s prediction that the church will be the avenue through which the “Aquarian Age” will enter the world, preparing for that one whom the Bible warns will deceive the whole world.

REPOSTED: GLOBAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT 2013

APPLICABLE BIBLE VERSES:
John 5:43-44-“I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?”
Romans 2:21-“You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal?”
Romans 12:5-“so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.”
Romans 12:16-“Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.”
1 Cor. 3:4-“For when one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not carnal?”
1 Cor. 12:25-“that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.”
2 Cor. 11:4-“For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted –you may well put up with it!”
Gal. 1:7-“which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.”
Col. 3:16-“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
2 Tim. 3:13-17-“But evil men and seducers will go forward to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But continue in the things that you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from a babe you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfected, thoroughly furnished to every good work.”
Matt. 7:13-“Go in through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there are who go in through it.”

The Willow Creek Association of Bill Hybels will again be holding the Global Leadership Summit August 8-9, 2013. Here are the promotional videos:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5-__FApYYs, and/or
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmiRMh6XVKE.

This event will be telecast or simulcast to other contemporary emerging churches which glory in the Warren/Hybels new paradigm of doing church, i.e., running a church like a business instead of the model created by Jesus Christ. The above thirteen guest speakers include high profile business world instructors, lawyers, psychologists, mega church pastors, new age practitioners and high level government alumni. Only the best of the best were invited this time so that you and your local church “leaders” can learn more about the workings of running a “business model” church that promises to grow exponentially IF you carefully follow their combined wisdom. Oh, what would the church world do without the benefit of their advice? Return to fundamental Christianity? Heaven forbid! The question that will be scrubbed from this conference is: “What would Jesus do?” You can be certain that although these name the name of Christ and claim to be people of faith, (but in what you may ask), they glory in man’s wisdom as an improvement on, and superior to, the Word of God. So get ready for what August will bring in the way of unheard of revelations from this gnostic group.
We will be focusing on several of these to demonstrate that their advice and wisdom is of this world, derived from another gospel that repudiates the true authentic gospel of Jesus Christ, and represents not only a false methodology for doing church, but is poisonous to those who accept their apostate/heretical teachings without comparing to the Bible standard.
We will not be focusing on Bill Hybels, Andy Stanley, Colin Powell, and others who are well known to the church world and the secular world of business. Instead, for the purpose of this post and the overall aim of this blog, we will focus on Dr. Brene Brown, Dr. Henry Cloud, Mark Burnett, and Chris Brown, supplying as much information about them gleaned from their own websites, writings, videos, and other third party sources to uncover what they believe and promote.
WARNING # 1: It needs to be said that churches should not be run like businesses. When churches are run like corporations, pastors, elders and deacons lose whatever humility they once had and become manipulative dictatorial leaders and/or task masters, and discard their roles as shepherds, ministers, caring advisers, and equal members of the body of Christ, under the authority of God. Frequently, and in their sinful arrogance and independent spirit, the result is a complete failure to teach from the Bible, disciple believers, and warn and/or correct the congregation in a loving way about apostates, heretics, false teachers, false prophets, and the twisting of Scripture. Instead, they themselves become the focus of worship, the primary and final arbiters of truth, doctrine, and practice on their own authority. Members are ridiculed for wanting to hear Bible based expository preaching on the pretense that it just makes people fat and lazy, unwilling to work for the common good of the church. Adopting a business-like structure in church creates a hierarchy of authority, a “chain of command”, leads to abuse, contributes to gnosticism, fosters elitism, belittles the congregation as a working class, values performance over grace, diverts from the God-given guidance of Scripture and focuses on implementing the vision cast by leaders, requires the congregation to subject themselves to unbiblical self-appointed change agents, drives the congregation away from the true gospel of grace towards a social gospel of works, creates a socialist, collectivist, community organizational structure that denies or suppresses individualism, individual thought, and individual effort. Compliance and compliant church members fit into this unbiblical business community, and consequently, individualistic personalities are routinely discarded and booted out if they “don’t get with the program”.

WARNING # 2: In our post of February 28, 2013, we showed that Tim Keller is giving advice to mega church pastors, such as at Willowdale Chapel of Kennett Square, PA. As with more than a few of the 13 guest speakers at GLS 2013, Keller is also enthralled with offering a blend of worldly humanistic psychological theories with Scripture, known among discerning Christians as psycho-heresy. Here again is what we posted on February 28, along with the sources:

Sources show Keller may not be the biblical “go to guy” for advice, whether for individual Christians or churches:

http://www.newcalvinist.com/tim-kellers-false-gospel/. Excellent expose of Keller’s false gospel. A quote from this article sums it up:
You will see that he is deeply ecumenical in approach and sympathetic to the Catholic cause. Indeed, his commitment to the Catholicism is so deep that Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York engages in mystical Catholic practices. He has such a low view of Scripture that he goes out of his way to promote the false doctrine of theistic evolutionHe is so impressed with the idea of humanistic psychology that his church runs a fee charging counselling service that integrates psychological theories with Scripture. He is so taken with the ways of the world that he promotes a liberal political agenda. And the great tragedy of Tim Keller is that all this is done under the banner of Reformed Calvinism.”

But Lafferty and Willowdale’s leadership have apparently learned a lot from Keller as well as Warren. Of course, all these emergents would claim a biblical mandate from Scripture. That may be so, but the implementation is not. They all seem to want to redeem the culture with good works, applying “salt and light” and/or present an attractive image to the unregenerate. Unfortunately, they will attempt to accomplish that goal through implementing a collectivist/fascist business model based on Peter Drucker’s ideas for business (the three legged stool), and which is the foundation of Warren’s “Purpose Driven” methods.

The second aim appears to be the establishment of God’s kingdom on earth or at least preparing the way, allegedly to reign, but not to rule, falling just short of the seven “dominionist” aims of the New Apostolic Reformation which includes ruling the culture.
Lost in all this is the one-on-one traditional biblical model of evangelism, as well as the important role of individuals in such. Now, the message is that the sum total of all individuals spreading the gospel cannot be as effective as the collectivist community inside a business model. This is explored at length by Chris Rosebrough of Fighting for the Faith (Pirate Radio) in this audio “Resistance is Futile. You Will Be Assimilated into The Community”.

Dr. Brene Brown’s website, http://www.brenebrown.com/about/contains a short biography on her own website, which contains a link, http://www.oprah.com/own-supersoulsunday/blogs/Coming-Up-Sunday-Dr-Bren233-Brown-on-Daring-Greatly, to Oprah Winfrey’s Super Soul Sunday.
Yes, it appears the two are in fact “soulmates”, promoting “psycho-heresy” (psychology and religious heresy mixture), further blended with New Age beliefs and practices such as yoga, mindfulness, holistic medicine, ecumenism, universalism, Hinduism, Buddhism, mantras, breath prayers, contemplative prayer with emptying of the mind, goddess worship, and an array of pagan, mystical ideas. All this while insisting they are Christians!

2) Dr. Henry Cloud, clinical psychologist, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Cloud.

Wikipedia states Cloud co-founded and built Minirth-Meier ClinicWest and served as its Clinical Co-Director for ten years.” and “ (has) PhD degree in clinical psychology from Biola University (1987). He also took classes from Talbot Theological Seminary.” Talbot is at Biola University, and has been one of the top seminaries teaching spiritual formation and contemplative mysticism.

Pat Robertson of CBN interviews Cloud about his book “The Secret Things of God”, and his comments clearly point to a fusion of New Age practices and beliefs with Christianity, and in which he states that the Secret is “basically the New Age philosophy that says your thoughts create reality”. The video of this astounding interview is here: http://www.cbn.com/tv/1418278203001.
This is the book promotion video:

A less than complimentary review of his book was also written at CBN’s 700 Club site here:
http://www.cbn.com/700club/guests/bios/Henry_Cloud040408.aspx. Cloud is quoted as saying about his book therein as “a huge cultural phenomenon and is classic, new-age philosophy. ” And the review further states “As a psychologist, he is amazed at ‘the secret things of God’ validated by research and clinical practice.

‘In fact, I do not know of any successful clinical process or practice that does not agree with God’s secrets’, he says. ” The article goes on to describe a mystical encounter with Jesus by a Jewish woman: “She was going through a challenging time and asked God to show up. She was immediately embraced by the presence of Jesus.”
Cloud has had a working relationship with Bill Hybels’ Willow Creek Association as shown in these videos in which Cloud describes how to do “pruning” in your church.
This is very similar to James McDonald’s “catapulting” uncooperative church members out of the parking lot, and the foul mouthed/cussing pastor, Mark Driscoll’s “blessed subtraction” by getting rid of disagreeable church members by “throwing them under the bus”.
Driscoll’s “pile of dead bodies behind the bus”:

“SON OF GOD” MOVIE BY NEW AGERS ROMA DOWNEY & MARK BURNETT

Son of God Official Trailer & Cast Interview: Diogo Morgado, Roma Downey, and Mark Burnett:

Please Consider This Before
Going Out To See “Son of God”
Manny Silva has written a review:

“People will walk away liking “Jesus,” or rather liking Diogo Morgado, and they will think because they like the Hollywood Jesus they are Christian more or less. They will not sense their urgent need to come to a saving knowledge of the true Christ. And they will be deceived into thinking they are alright, when they are in serious spiritual jeopardy.” (from the review at the lasthiker blog)

I realize I may cause a bit of upset in sending this out, but this has been bothering me for a while.
The movie trailer for Son of God seems pretty good to most Christians.  There was one part of it that gave me pause, so I did a little more homework.  I had been planning to post my thoughts on the “Son of God” movie, and realized that it is already opening tonight.  So as I planned to write something for early next week, I received an email from a sister in the Lord, with a link to an article about the same subject.  “Son of God” is a movie produced by actress Roma Downey, and her husband Mark Burnett.  If you recall, they also produced last year’s “Bible Series” on the History Channel.  I saw enough portions of that series to truly be dismayed at how Hollywood can re-write Bible history for its own purposes.  So what reason is there to trust the same folks who produced and directed that series?
This is part of what I posted on Facebook today:
“I will not pay to see this movie and help finance future “Bible” based projects by these folks, and it is my recommendation that you do not go as well, after considering two things: the people behind the movie, and the content of the movie itself.  Christians really need to be careful in these times and scrutinize not only who is making these movies, but what they are leaving out, or adding. Beware of those who call themselves Christian, but who embrace paganism, talk to the dead, and borrow practices from other religions.”

My friend Nancy commented that:
“All you have to do is watch the trailer “Come with me” “What are we going to do” Then they have Jesus saying “Change the world” C’mon on now, really? What does the Word really say? I can think of several verses – how about from the gospel of John Jesus said, “For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may become blind.” or again from John, Jesus answered, “My kingship is not of this world; if my kingship were of this world, my servants would fight, that I might not be handed over to the Jews; but my kingship is not from the world.”
or Paul said in Romans – Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Well, we shouldn’t be surprised as over and over we are told of a deception coming, a strong delusion, masquerading as Christ. People better wake up and pay attention, lest you too be caught off guard.”
I agree.  One of the dubious things I found out about the movie is that CeeLo Green, from the Voice, will be singing “Mary Did You Know” at the end of the movie.  This is the same CeeLo Green who sang a song called F**k You.  And Roma Downey decided to “cast out” Satan from the movie, saying that it should be all about Jesus, and called Satan a distraction.
If the deception and delusion going on now is not the great big one, then I shudder to think what it will be like.  Please do not consider this nitpicking on my part, or by the writer of the article.  I agree with the writer when she says that “Hollywood, or FAKE Christians can’t make a good truthful movie about Jesus.”
Please read the facts about Roma Downey and her propensity to dabble in paganism, mysticism, and “spiritual psychology.”  She is a New Ager.
She has spent time with Jonathan Edwards to speak with her dead mother!  She also worked with Edwards on a book that teaches contemplative prayer.
And also consider the movie, in the following excerpt (and continue to the full article) in light of what Scripture teaches us.  They made some very erroneous revisions in the “Bible Series” and twisted the word of God.  What makes us think they would not do the same to this movie?

Here is the link to the article:

I was listening to Christian radio last week and I heard a radio interview on Focus on the Family with Roma Downey and Mark Burnett about their new television series, The Bible. They claimed to be Christian and said that the Lord has called them to make this series. She shared about how she would pray and ask the Holy Spirit to fill her when she was on “Touched by an Angel.” I was a little surprised at the picture she was trying to create, but I let it go. Whatever. But one of their main points was that there are a lot of Christians in Hollywood and they are not ashamed to admit it.
… Then I happened to see a blog by a woman I used to follow years ago. And she mentioned that Roma Downey has some New Age ties. I remembered my red flag and I followed up on her sources and did my own research. Because by now many members of my church were posting on Facebook about how “AMAZING” the show was. I don’t want to be a kill-joy! But it is true. Roma Downey deceived the church when she went on Focus on the Family. She came on Christian Radio and pretended to be a the same kind of Christian that we are. There is room for differences in the body of Christ, but New Age paganism falls outside the fence.
She was quoted in an article talking about how she listens to books on tape by Eckart Tolle. “I get my own selections [on the radio in the car] — books on tape by Eckhart Tolle, Tony Robbins…” She goes on to say, “My husband says I’m so self-realized I’m practically levitating.’” Really? Because I have never heard my pastor’s wife talk like that? If you are not familiar with Eckart Tolle, he is a New Age teacher who twists the Bible and adds it to his Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist, Shintoist philosophy. If you are familiar with him, and you like him–whatever. He is a false teacher when it comes to Christianity. Charlie Campbell has a list of his troubling statements.
Aside from her VERY questionable theological beliefs, she has gone to the University of Santa Monica to get a degree in “Spiritual Psychology.” When I first read that I thought, “so?” BUT when I looked it up, the University of Santa Monica is not just a school like Cal Poly or USC that people from all walks of life go to. When you click on their home page you will see that it specializes in New Age degrees.

When you go to the page entitled “What is Spiritual Psychology?” you will see that they are indeed promoting New Age ideas. Here is a quote, “Spiritual Psychology is the study and practice of the art and science of human evolution in consciousness.” It goes on to say, “Put another way, Spiritual Psychology is a technology that empowers students to convert their everyday life experiences into rungs on the ladder of Spiritual Evolution.”
Spiritual Evolution.
Do you think that has ANYTHING to do with Jesus dying on the cross for your sins? So you could evolve spiritually? NOOOOO. It is blasphemy to the Christian which she claims to be. A Christian who happens to be so self-realized that she is levitating?!?!  Uhm levitating? That is a funny little joke Roma. Because IF you were self-realized, have you realized that you are dirt? You are a sinner? You can’t evolve spiritually, because if  you could Jesus wouldn’t have had to come die on the cross for your sins. Do you “realize” that the Bible is the BEST book on “Spiritual Psychology” there is??? And it won’t baby you, or flatter you–but it will give you the truth and give you HOPE that ONLY exists IN CHRIST JESUS!
So this New Age woman and her husband want to go on Focus on the Family and laugh and talk about the Holy Spirit and their love for the Bible, and this call that God placed on their lives to make a Hollywood movie of His favorite book.
Then they wanted all their Hollywood friends to promote the series on Twitter. For some reason John Edward from “Crossing Over” tweeted that he didn’t need to be a psychic to know that this series is going to be SPECTACULAR! And P-Diddy, Christian Aguilera, Jane Lynch, Sarah Ferguson Duchess of York, Adam Levine, and Shakira just so happen to really love the Bible, right? Do they go to church too? Are they some of the Christians in Hollywood that you talked about in your interview? That is crazy.
And then when my friends are telling me, after watching it, that it was “SOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOD.” And they did notice a few things that were different, but other than that it was really, really good. So to them it is okay that it is different from the Bible. A series called the Bible and it is DIFFERENT than the Bible. Okay . . . (The Last Hiker)

TEA PARTY FIFTH YEAR ANNIVERSARY~TED CRUZ & MICHELE BACHMANN

Ted Cruz We’ll Turn This Country Around.

Ted Cruz Tea Party Five Year Anniversary:

Published on Feb 27, 2014

tea party five year Texas Sen. Ted Cruz on Thursday praised the tea party movement on its fifth birthday while vowing to activists that Republicans would repeal every word of Obamacare.
During a celebration of the five year anniversary of the tea party movement in Washington, Cruz said: “I think the tea party is the most exciting political development in decades in this country.”

“God Bless the tea party,” the Texas Republican said.

Cruz, whose popularity with the conservative grassroots was evident with the repeated chants of “Ted, Ted, Ted” from the crowd, told the hundreds of activists at the celebration not to give up on repealing President Obama’s health care law.

“Let me tell you right now,” Cruz said. “I’m absolutely convinced. We are going to repeal every single word.”

Earlier at the event, other tea party darlings — including Sens. Rand Paul of Texas and Mike Lee of Utah — addressed attendees of the Tea Party Patriots celebration in Washington at a Capitol Hill hotel.
.
“I’ve got good news for you, and I’ve got bad news,” Paul said in a speech. “The good news is your government is open. The bad news is your government’s open.”

Paul spent the bulk of his address railing against wasteful government spending. He told the story of how, during last year’s government shutdown, the EPA marked 95 percent of its staff as unessential.

The Tea Party Patriots held its anniversary celebration all day Thursday with lawmakers, activists, and tea party leadership from across the country.

“It’s so nice and so rare to be so close to Capitol Hill and yet so in America,” said Utah Sen. Mike Lee.

One of the biggest lines of applause of the day came from Kansas Rep. Tim Huelskamp, who said: “Isn’t it high time that we retire John Boehner?”

It appears, however, that the crowd cut him off. After the crowd stopped applauding, Huelskamp finished his sentence: “Isn’t it high time we retire John Boehner’s biggest excuse ‘we only control 1 half of 1/3 of the government?'”

“Washington is threatened by what they cannot control,” Huelskamp said. “And they cannot control freedom loving Americans, whether they call themselves tea party members or not.”

NAZARENE ROAD TO ROME~FAST BECOMING AN APOSTATE DENOMINATION

The Nazarene Road To Rome

The Nazarene Road To Rome Part 2

“The Church of the Nazarene is fast becoming an apostate denomination.  It has for quite a while now been embracing Rome, notwithstanding anything that the leaders might tell you.  And don’t think you can look to the General Superintendents for help- because they are part of the problem.  They are either going fully along with these false teachings and ideologies, or they have abdicated their responsibility to protect the flock.  For many of us, it has been an absolute nightmare reading their “non-responsive” responses to our concerns.  They will have much to answer for their negligence.”
Many Christians today have a hard time dealing with reality regarding what’s happening in their “beloved denomination.” We may not know all the details, but there are some things that are for certain regarding the end times.  There will be no great revival, but there will be a great apostasy, of which we may well be in the midst of it now.  Those who preach about a great revival as the precursor before Christ’s return do not know their scripture, or perhaps they do know and are simply ignoring the truth of what Revelation teaches us.
In this video excerpt we see two events: in 1988, John Paul II led a worldwide service for peace that included spiritists, Buddhists, and other religions; and the other event depicted shows Pope Benedict leading an ecumenical prayer service, it seems almost unreal, but this “ecumenical spirit” continues today, as evangelicals are falling over each other in a race to be seen as full of love and unity with all “Christians”, regardless of doctrinal differences.
You will notice various evangelical denominations represented in the prayer service, with some going so far as to kiss the pope’s hand.  If this is not idolatry, what would you call it?  This procession of misguided “Christian” leaders did not include anyone from the Nazarene denomination-yet; but give it time.  After all, there are already many prominent leaders in the Nazarene denomination who are calling Roman Catholics our “brothers and sisters”, and who are introducing RCC traditions and rituals to Nazarenes in many churches and districts.
January was the occasion of the annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.  From the website atonementfriars.org, it states that the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity invites the whole Christian community throughout the world to pray in communion with the prayer of Jesus “that they all may be one” (John 17:21).  It is an ecumenical venture that has been around for a long time, and is proud of making connections and joining hands with any group that simply proclaims the name of Jesus, even if they are all over the place in doctrine.  The goal is unity- no matter what the differences.  Their theme this year is Has Christ Been Divided? And so they state that: “We continue to be divided by doctrine, polity, and practice, and to maintain our own religious identity, yet our pilgrimage towards unity continues under God’s guidance.”
Does God really guide such kinds of ventures? And is God guiding the Church of the Nazarene into joining with those who are marching slowly and steadily to join hands with Rome and the one world religion?  Are there really no serious differences between the evangelical church and the Roman Catholic Church that would hinder fellowship between them?  Apparently not to many of the Nazarene leadership, and it seems Nazarenes are joining the bandwagon happily, and ignoring the serious differences between the two.
For me, I have been made strongly aware of it in the past five years or so, but for others, they have seen this coming for a long time.  On the above mentioned website, you will read that a Nazarene pastor, Rev. Ken Ardry from New York, participated in this endeavor.  He has also written a document that is available from the site that reflects his views about this ecumenical event and what it means to him.  Rev. Ardry is in good company in the Nazarene church, and therefore should not even fear any serious criticism for this. He will most certainly be applauded by the leadership.  Here is an excerpt from that paper/talk he penned (see attached for complete text):
“To my Wesleyan, Reformed, Calvinistic, Pentecostal brothers and sisters… God really does use our Catholic brothers and sisters to bring people who have no faith into reconciliation with their creator God. To my Catholic brothers and sisters, and I know I preach to the choir this evening because you wouldn’t be here praying for Christian unity if you didn’t believe this, but to my Catholic brothers and sisters God really does use us Protestant types to bring people who are lost without their God into reconciliation with him.
As we seek to build Christian unity Paul sets an example for us in his attitude toward the Corinthian church.”
To those who have bought into the idea that for Roman Catholics and Nazarenes (or any evangelical Protestant) there is nothing that should cause them to break fellowship, I can see them nodding their heads and saying “amen.  Perhaps they believe that the Reformation was a waste of time and should never have happened.  And now leaders in the church are working hard to bring the Nazarene denomination a step closer to Rome.  I recall at this year’s General Assembly, when at Mark Maddix’s seminar promoting contemplative spirituality practices, I was rebuked by him and several others who approached me later.  Why?  Because I spoke the truth and said that Roman Catholicism is a false religion.
The evidence is everywhere.  We have seen it with programs in every university and the seminaries promoting Eastern style mysticism (contemplative spirituality) under the guise of a better sounding phrase, “spiritual formation.”  We have seen pagan prayer labyrinths at Trevecca Nazarene University and various churches, as well as trips to a monastery to “practice the silence” and mingle with the nuns and monks in their rituals.  We saw this continuing promotion of contemplative prayer sponsored by the seminary itself, at the General Assembly in Orlando in 2009.  Two years before that the seminary sponsored the same thing just before the M-7 Conference.  Then there was also the Roman Catholic style prayer rooms at General Assembly, with books by mystic Richard Foster prominently displayed next to a Bible.
We have seen books sold at Nazarene Publishing House that promote to the youth such practices as prayer beads, creating their own labyrinths, lectio divina, and recommending going on pilgrimages to the Taize interspiritual center in France. (SEE: www.taize.fr/en)  And at least one university, Point Loma Nazarene, has organized its own trip for youth to Taize.  Then along came Ashes to Fire, a devotional book that continues the trend towards Roman Catholic practice.  Remember  the Nazarene video promotion showing someone receiving ashes to the forehead, Roman Catholic style?  And then, the Nazarene pastor taking confessional at St. Peter’s in Rome, reminding his friends that he did not want to forget “his roots.”  Or what about the heavy promotion of books by Catholic mystics recommended for a Nazarene camp in New Hampshire?
You believe in biblical inerrancy?  Big problem!  Confessional in Rome?  No problem.
We now see a Facebook group, Sacramental Nazarenes, heavily promoting and talking about all the latest fads in rituals and ceremonies that they can all share and perform in their churches.  The new president of Nazarene Theological Seminary proudly has displayed an icon of an Eastern Orthodox “saint” on her Facebook page.  It’s all about ritual, and tradition, now for these people, and less about scripture and doctrine.  And if you see the list of members of Sacramental Nazarenes, you will see leaders in the church, such as former General Superintendent Jesse Middendorf, and GS David Busic; Carla Sunberg, new president of the seminary; district superintendents, pastors, college professors and president – because they have bought into these ideas!
There are so many more signs that the Church of the Nazarene is no longer the church that was used by God to bring the Gospel to my father and rescue him from Roman Catholicism and its false religion.  Have you noticed pastors quoting Mother Teresa and other Catholic mystics in their sermons?  The jesus of Catholicism is not the Jesus I know.  So if that is true, how can there be unity?  In fact, can there be unity when the official position of the Roman Catholic Church is that all of us are lost, unless we repent and return to Rome?  Don’t these Nazarene leaders even know that much?  Don’t they know what the RCC teaches?
There is much more that is destroying the Nazarene denomination.  There is the emergent church culture, that doubts most of Scripture.  There is the godless evolution movement, being promoted aggressively by leaders in the church.  There is now the signs and wonders movement, with many Nazarenes under the influence of such as Bill Johnson and Dan Bohi.  There is the contemplative spirituality movement, which is bringing Eastern mysticism into the church.  And finally, there is the fundamental denial that God’s word is inerrant, and if you dare to preach otherwise, or preach against the emergent church- you will lose your ordination unless you recant.  And that has already happened.
The only hope right now are the faithful churches that are standing against the emergent movement, regardless of criticism- and they do get it.  They get it from district superintendents who are pushing the agenda.  And the casualties along the way are the many faithful, Bible believing Nazarenes who have no choice but to leave their churches, and find another church.  I urge those who have not any good options left, to shake the dust off their shoes, and leave the Church of the Nazarene.  Don’t become part of Rome.

COMMON CORE: NEA PRESIDENT SAYS “IMPLEMENTATION HAS BEEN COMPLETELY BOTCHED”

NEA President: We Need a Course Correction

on Common Core

EXCERPT:
“I am sure it won’t come as a surprise to hear that in far too many states, implementation has been completely botched.  Seven of ten teachers believe that implementation of the standards is going poorly in their schools. Worse yet, teachers report that there has been little to no attempt to allow educators to share what’s needed to get CCSS implementation right.  In fact, two thirds of all teachers report that they have not even been asked how to implement these new standards in their classrooms.”

FULL TEXT OF LETTER REPUBLISHED BELOW IN FULL UNEDITED FOR INFORMATIONAL, EDUCATIONAL, AND RESEARCH PURPOSES:

February 19, 2014
By Dennis Van Roekel
During my 23 years as a high school math teacher, I learned some important lessons.  One of the most important was that effective teaching and learning required me at times to be the teacher and at other times, the student. I listened closely to my students because they were the ones who told me what was working and what wasn’t.  I don’t believe I am any different than any other NEA member—we all want the best for every student in our classrooms and schools.
So when 45 states adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), we as educators saw the wonderful potential of these standards to correct many of the inequities in our education system that currently exist.  Educators embraced the promise of providing equal access to high standards for all students, regardless of their zip code or family background.
We believed the standards would help students develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills they need to succeed in the fast-changing world.  NEA members overwhelmingly supported the goals of the standards because we knew they could provide a better path forward for each and every student. The promise of these high standards for all students is extraordinary.  And we owe it to our students to fulfill that promise.
As educators, we also had high hopes that our policymakers would make an equal commitment to implement the standards correctly by providing students, educators, and schools with the time, supports, and resources that are absolutely crucial in order to make changes of this magnitude to our education system.
So over the last few months I have done what my students and fellow educators have taught me:  I have been listening closely. I have joined our state leaders in member listening sessions around the country, observed dozens of member focus groups, and invited hundreds of thousands of NEA members to share their views about how CCSS implementation is going.
I am sure it won’t come as a surprise to hear that in far too many states, implementation has been completely botched.  Seven of ten teachers believe that implementation of the standards is going poorly in their schools. Worse yet, teachers report that there has been little to no attempt to allow educators to share what’s needed to get CCSS implementation right.  In fact, two thirds of all teachers report that they have not even been asked how to implement these new standards in their classrooms.
Imagine that:  The very people expected to deliver universal access to high quality standards with high quality instruction have not had the opportunity to share their expertise and advice about how to make CCSS implementation work for all students, educators, and parents.
Consequently, NEA members have a right to feel frustrated, upset, and angry about the poor commitment to implementing the standards correctly.
So, where do we go from here?
NEA has been called upon to oppose the standards.  It would be simpler just to listen to the detractors from the left and the right who oppose the standards.  But scuttling these standards will simply return us to the failed days of No Child Left Behind (NCLB), where rote memorization and bubble tests drove teaching and learning.  NEA members don’t want to go backward; we know that won’t help students.  Instead, we want states to make a strong course correction and move forward.
Not surprisingly, as a math teacher I have some strong views about the proper sequence of things—not only in my classroom, but also when it comes to implementing this kind of systemic change in public education.  Start with high standards, create a curriculum that supports them, then focus on assessments that are aligned to what is taught and that really measure learning, then evaluate progress in teaching and learning, and finally pledge to make continuous adjustments to improve teaching and learning for each and every student.
So the first step is for policymakers to treat teachers as professionals and listen to what we know is needed.  Give us the resources and time—time to learn the standards, collaborate with each other, develop curriculum that is aligned to the standards, and time to field-test the standards in classrooms to determine what works and what needs adjustment.  We also need the financial resources for updated textbooks and fully aligned teaching and learning materials.
Second, work with educators—not around us—to determine how to properly use assessments in classrooms across America.  It’s beyond me how anyone would ask teachers to administer tests that have no relation whatsoever to what they have been asked to teach.  In too many states, that’s exactly what’s happening.
Old tests are being given, but new and different standards are being taught.  How on earth does that give any teacher, student, or parent information that is relevant to what they need to know or how they can improve?  Why would we waste valuable learning time for students?  And, then, to make matters worse, many states are proceeding to use these invalid test results as the basis for accountability decisions.
This is not ‘accountability’—it’s malpractice.
In states that have made a commitment to involving teachers up front and providing teachers with the time, training, and resources they need to make the standards work, educator support for the standards is strong.
So if better teaching and learning is our goal, then policymakers need to implement educators’ common sense recommendations to get implementation on track:
1. Governors and chief state school officers should set up a process to work with NEA and our state education associations to review the appropriateness of the standards and recommend any improvements that might be needed.
2. Common Core implementation plans at the state and local levels must be collaboratively developed, adequately resourced, and overseen by community advisory committees that include the voices of students, parents, and educators.
3. States and local school districts must place teachers at the center of efforts to develop aligned curriculum, assessments, and professional development that are relevant to their students and local communities.
4. States must eliminate outdated NCLB-mandated tests that are not aligned with the new standards and not based on what is being taught to students in the classroom.
5. States must actively engage educators in the field-testing of the new assessments and the process for improving them.
6. In any state that is field-testing and validating new assessments, there must be a moratorium on using the results of the new assessments for accountability purposes until at least the 2015-2016 school year. In the meantime, states still have other ways to measure student learning during this transition period—other assessments, report cards, and student portfolios.
7. Stakeholders must develop complete assessment and accountability systems. It takes more than one piece of evidence to paint a picture of what students are learning. Testing should be one way to inform effective teaching and learning—not a way to drive it.
I know that NEA members are committed to seeing the promise of the standards fulfilled. But we can’t do it alone.  Elected officials, school administrators, and other stakeholders are part of the accountability system, too, and that means stepping up and accepting more responsibility to get CCSS implementation right. There’s too much at stake for our children and our country to risk getting this wrong.

An Open Letter to the Men and Women of the Connecticut State Police: You are NOT the enemy (UNLESS YOU CHOOSE TO BE.)

The following letter was sent via email to members of the Connecticut State Police, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection. There are 1,212 email addresses on the list. There were 62 bounce-backs.

15 February 2014

To the men and women of the Connecticut State Police and the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection:

My name is Mike Vanderboegh. Few of you will know who I am, or even will have heard of the Three Percent movement that I founded, though we have been denounced on the national stage by that paragon of moral virtue, Bill Clinton. Three Percenters are uncompromising firearm owners who have stated very plainly for years that we will obey no further encroachments on our Second Amendment rights. Some of you, if you read this carelessly, may feel that it is a threat. It is not. Three Percenters also believe that to take the first shot in a conflict over principle is to surrender the moral high ground to the enemy. We condemn so-called collateral damage and terrorism such as that represented by the Oklahoma City Bombing and the Waco massacre. We are very aware that if you seek to defeat evil it is vital not to become the evil you claim to oppose. Thus, though this letter is certainly intended to deal with an uncomfortable subject, it is not a threat to anyone. However, it is important for everyone to understand that while we promise not to take the first shot over principle, we make no such promise if attacked, whether by common criminals or by the designated representatives of a criminal government grown arrogant and tyrannical and acting out an unconstitutional agenda under color of law. If we have any model, it is that of the Founding generation. The threat to public order and safety, unfortunately, comes from the current leaders of your state government who unthinkingly determined to victimize hitherto law-abiding citizens with a tyrannical law. They are the ones who first promised violence on the part of the state if your citizens did not comply with their unconstitutional diktat. Now, having made the threat (and placed the bet that you folks of the Connecticut State Police will meekly and obediently carry it out) they can hardly complain that others take them seriously and try by every means, including this letter, to avoid conflict.

Some of you are already working a major case on me, trying to figure out how I may be arrested for violating Conn. P.A. 13-3, which bears the wildly dishonest title of “An Act Concerning Gun Violence Prevention and Children’s Safety.” (What part of “protecting children” is accomplished by sparking a civil war?) Not only have I personally violated this unconstitutional and tyrannical act by smuggling and by the encouragement of smuggling, defiance and non-compliance on the part of your state’s citizens, but I have further irritated your wannabe tyrant bosses by sending them standard capacity magazines in my “Toys for Totalitarians” program. I further have annoyed them by pointing out — and seeking more evidence of — the existence of Mike Lawlor’s KGB file (as well as his FBI and CIA counter-intelligence files). In short, I have made myself a nuisance to your bosses in just about every way I could think of. However, their discomfiture reminds me of the wisdom of that great American philosopher of the late 20th Century, Frank Zappa, who said, “Do you love it? Do you hate it? There it is, the way you made it.” Whether you will be able to make a case on me that sticks is, of course, problematic for a number of reasons which I will detail to you in the letter below. I have already done so to your bosses and include the links in this email so that you may easily access them.

But even if you are not working on my case you will want to pay attention to this letter, because tyrannical politicians in your state have been writing checks with their mouths that they expect you to cash with your blood. We have moved, thanks to them, into a very dangerous undiscovered country. Connecticut is now in a state of cold civil war, one that can flash to bloody conflict in an instant if someone, anyone, does something stupid. So please pay attention, for Malloy and Co. have put all your asses on the line and are counting on your supine obedience to the enforcement of their unconstitutional diktat.

I apparently first came to your attention with this speech on the steps of your state capitol on 20 April 2013. It was very well received by the audience but virtually ignored by the lapdog press of your state. If I may, I’d like to quote some of the more salient points of it that involve you.

“An unconstitutional law is void.” It has no effect. So says American Jurisprudence, the standard legal text. And that’s been upheld by centuries of American law. An unconstitutional law is VOID. Now that is certainly true. But the tricky part is how do we make that point when the local, state and federal executive and legislative branches as well as the courts are in the hands of the domestic enemies of the Constitution. Everyone who is currently trying to take away your right to arms starts out by saying “I support the 2nd Amendment.” Let me tell you a home truth that we know down in Alabama — Barack Obama supports the 2nd Amendment just about as much as Adolf Hitler appreciated Jewish culture, or Joseph Stalin believed in individual liberty. Believe what politicians do, not what they say. Because the lie is the attendant of every evil. . .

Before this year no one thought that other firearms and related items would ever be banned — but they were, they have been. No one thought that the authorities of your state would pass laws making criminals out of the previously law-abiding — but they did. If they catch you violating their unconstitutional laws, they will — when they please — send armed men to work their will upon you. And people — innocent of any crime save the one these tyrants created — will die resisting them.

You begin to see, perhaps, how you fit into this. YOU are the “armed men” that Malloy and Company will send “to work their will” upon the previously law-abiding. In other words, this law takes men and women who are your natural allies in support of legitimate law enforcement and makes enemies of the state of them, and bully boy political police of you. So you all have a very real stake in what happens next. But let me continue:

The Founders knew how to answer such tyranny. When Captain John Parker — one of the three percent of American colonists who actively took the field against the King during the Revolution — mustered his Minutemen on Lexington Green, it was in a demonstration of ARMED civil disobedience. . . The colonists knew what to do and they did it, regardless of the risk — regardless of all the King’s ministers and the King’s soldiery. They defied the King. They resisted his edicts. They evaded his laws and they smuggled. Lord above, did they smuggle.

Now we find ourselves in a similar situation. The new King Barack and his minions have determined to disarm us. We must determine to resist them. No one wants a new civil war (except, apparently, the anti-constitutional tyrants who passed these laws and the media toadies who cheer them on) but one is staring us in the face. Let me repeat that, a civil war is staring us in the face. To think otherwise is to whistle past the graveyard of our own history. We must, if we wish to avoid armed conflict, get this message across to the collectivists who have declared their appetites for our liberty, our property and our lives — WHEN DEMOCRACY TURNS TO TYRANNY, THE ARMED CITIZEN STILL GETS TO VOTE.

Just like King George, such people will not care, nor modify their behavior, by what you say, no matter how loudly or in what numbers you say it. They will only pay attention to what you DO. So defy them. Resist their laws. Evade them. Smuggle in what they command you not to have. Only by our ACTS will they be impressed. Then, if they mean to have a civil war, they will at least have been informed of the unintended consequences of their tyrannical actions. Again I say — Defy. Resist. Evade. Smuggle. If you wish to stay free and to pass down that freedom to your children’s children you can do no less than to become the lawbreakers that they have unconstitutionally made of you. Accept that fact. Embrace it. And resolve to be the very best, most successful lawbreakers you can be.

Well, I guess at least some of my audience that day took my message to heart. As Connecticut newspapers have finally begun reporting — “Untold Thousands Flout Gun Registration Law” — and national commentators are at last noticing, my advice to defy, resist and evade this intolerable act is well on the way. The smuggling, as modest as it is, I can assure is also happening. This law is not only dangerous it is unenforceable by just about any standard you care to judge it by. Let’s just look at the numbers mentioned in the Courant story.

By the end of 2013, state police had received 47,916 applications for assault weapons certificates, Lt. Paul Vance said. An additional 2,100 that were incomplete could still come in.

That 50,000 figure could be as little as 15 percent of the rifles classified as assault weapons owned by Connecticut residents, according to estimates by people in the industry, including the Newtown-based National Shooting Sports Foundation. No one has anything close to definitive figures, but the most conservative estimates place the number of unregistered assault weapons well above 50,000, and perhaps as high as 350,000.

And that means as of Jan. 1, Connecticut has very likely created tens of thousands of newly minted criminals — perhaps 100,000 people, almost certainly at least 20,000 — who have broken no other laws. By owning unregistered guns defined as assault weapons, all of them are committing Class D felonies.

“I honestly thought from my own standpoint that the vast majority would register,” said Sen. Tony Guglielmo, R-Stafford, the ranking GOP senator on the legislature’s public safety committee. “If you pass laws that people have no respect for and they don’t follow them, then you have a real problem.”

This blithering idiot of a state senator is, as I warned Mike Lawlor the other day, extrapolating. It is a very dangerous thing, extrapolation, especially when you are trying to predict the actions of an enemy you made yourself whom you barely recognize let alone understand. I told Lawlor:

You, you silly sod, are extrapolating from your own cowardice. Just because you wouldn’t risk death for your principles, doesn’t mean there aren’t folks who most certainly will. And, not to put too fine a point on it, but folks who are willing to die for their principles are most often willing to kill in righteous self-defense of them as well. You may be ignorant of such people and their ways. You may think that they are insane. But surely even you cannot be so clueless that, insane or not from your point-of-view, such people DO exist and in numbers unknown. This is the undiscovered country that you and your tyrannical ilk have blundered into, like clueless kindergarteners gaily (no pun intended) tap-dancing in a well-marked mine field. The Founders marked the mine field. Is it our fault or yours that you have blithely ignored the warnings? If I were a Connecticut state policeman I would be wondering if the orders of a possible KGB mole throwback were worth the terminal inability to collect my pension. Of course, you may be thinking that you can hide behind that “thin blue line.” Bill Clinton’s rules of engagement say otherwise.

The odds are, and it gives me no particular satisfaction to say it, is that someone is going to get killed over your unconstitutional misadventures in Connecticut. And if not Connecticut, then New York, or Maryland, or California or Colorado. And once the civil war you all apparently seek is kicked off, it would not be — it could not be — confined to one state.

This is not a threat, of course. Not the personal, actionable threat that you may claim. It ranks right along with — no, that’s wrong, IT IS EXACTLY LIKE — an ex-con meeting me in the street and pointing to my neighbor’s house saying, “Tonight I am going to break in there, kill that man, rape his wife and daughters and steal everything that he is, has, or may become.” I warn him, “If you try to do that, he will kill you first. He may not look like much, but I know him to be vigilant and perfectly capable of blowing your head off.” That is not a threat from me. It is simply good manners. Consider this letter in the same vein. I am trying to save you from yourself.

For, like that common criminal, you have announced by your unconstitutional law and your public statements in favor of its rigorous enforcement that you have a tyrannical appetite for your neighbors’ liberty, property and lives. It doesn’t take a crystal ball to see that this policy, if carried to your announced conclusion, will not end well for anybody, but especially for you.

Now let’s examine those numbers in the Courant story. You know the size of the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection. Wikipedia tells us that “CSP currently has approximately 1,248 troopers, and is headquartered in Middletown, Connecticut. It is responsible for protecting the Governor of Connecticut, Lieutenant Governor of Connecticut, and their families.” There are but 1,212 email addresses listed on the state website to which this email is going, which presumably includes everyone including secretaries, receptionists, file clerks, technicians, etc. Now, how many shooters for raid parties you may find among that one thousand, two hundred and forty eight that Wikipedia cites, or whatever number will be on the payroll when something stupid happens, only you know for sure. I’ll let you do the counting. They are daunting odds in any case, and as you will see, they get more daunting as we go down this road that Malloy and Company have arranged for you. (By the way, don’t forget to subtract those on the Green Zone protective details, for your political masters will certainly see their survival as your mission number one.) So, how many folks would your superiors be interested in seeing you work their will upon? And of these, how many will fight regardless of cost?

Let’s assume that there are 100,000 non-compliant owners of military pattern semi-automatic rifles in your state. I think it is a larger number but 100,000 has a nice round ring to it. Let us then apply the rule of three percent to that number — not to the entire population of your state, not even to the number of firearm owners, but just to that much smaller demonstrated number of resistors. That leaves you with at least 3,000 men and women who will shoot you if you try to enforce this intolerable act upon them. Of course you will have to come prepared to shoot them. That’s a given. They know this. So please understand: THEY. WILL. SHOOT. YOU. (In what they believe is righteous self defense.) Now, if any of them follow Bill Clinton’s rules of engagement and utilize the principles of4th Generation Warfare, after the first shots are fired by your raid parties, they will not be home when you come to call. These people will be targeting, according to the 4GW that many of them learned while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, the war makers who sent you. This gets back to that “when democracy turns to tyranny, the armed citizenry still gets to vote.” One ballot, or bullet, at a time.

This is all hypothetical, of course, based upon the tyrants’ appetites for these hitherto law-abiding citizens’ liberty, property and lives as well as upon your own willingness to enforce their unconstitutional diktat. And here’s where you can do something about it. The first thing you have to realize is that the people you will be targeting do not view you as the enemy. Indeed, you are NOT their enemy, unless you choose to be one.

Again, an unconstitutional law is null and void. Of course you may if you like cling to the slim fact that a single black-robed bandit has ruled the Intolerable Act as constitutional in Shew vs. Malloy, but that will not matter to those three percent of the resistors — your fellow citizens — whom you target. They no longer expect a fair trial in your state in any case, which leaves them, if they wish to defend their liberty, property and lives, only the recourse of an unfair firefight. So to cite Shew vs. Malloy at the point of a state-issued firearm to such people is, well, betting your life on a very slender reed.

Thus, my kindly advice to you, just as it was to Lawlor, is to not go down that road. You are not the enemy of the people of Connecticut, not yet. The politicians who jammed this law down the peoples’ throats are plainly flummoxed by the resistance it has engendered. In the absence of a definitive U.S. Supreme Court decision do you really want to risk not being able to draw your pension over some politician’s insatiable appetite for power?

There are many ways you can refuse to get caught up in this. Passive resistance, looking the other way, up to and including outright refusal to execute what is a tyrannical law that a higher court may yet find unconstitutional and therefore null and void. Do you really want to have to kill someone enforcing THAT? Just because you were ordered to do so? After Nuremberg, that defense no longer obtains. (You may say, “Well, I’m just a secretary, a clerk, you can’t blame me for anything.” Kindly recall from Nuremberg one other lesson: raid parties cannot break down doors unless someone like you prepares the list in advance. In fact, you have at your keyboard and in your databases more raw, naked power than any kick-in-the-door trooper. And with that power comes moral responsibility. Adolf Eichmann didn’t personally kill anyone. But he darn sure made up the lists and saw to it that trains ran on time. When the first Connecticut citizen (or, God forbid, his family) is killed as a result of your list-making, do you think that because you didn’t pull the trigger that gives you a moral pass?)

So I call on you all, in your own best interest and that of your state, to refuse to enforce this unconstitutional law. There are a number of Three Percenters within the Connecticut state government, especially its law enforcement arms. I know that there have been many discussions around water-coolers and off state premises about the dangers that this puts CT law enforcement officers in and what officers should do if ordered to execute raids on the previously law-abiding.

You have it within your power to refuse to initiate hostilities in an American civil war that would, by its very nature, be ghastly beyond belief and would unleash hatreds and passions that would take generations to get over, if then.

Please, I beg you to understand, you are not the enemy, you are not an occupying force — unless you choose to violate the oath that each of you swore to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against ALL enemies, foreign and domestic. For their part, the men and women who will be targeted by your raids took an identical oath. Can you think of anything more tragic than brother killing brother over some politician’s tyrannical appetite?

I can’t. The future — yours, mine, our children’s, that of the citizens of Connecticut and indeed of the entire country — is in YOUR hands.

At the very least, by your refusal you can give the courts time to work before proceeding into an unnecessary civil war against your own friends and neighbors on the orders of a self-anointed elite who frankly don’t give a shit about you, your life, your future or that of your family. They wouldn’t pass these laws if they thought that they would have to risk the potential bullet that their actions have put you in the path of. They count on you to take that bullet, in service of their power and their lies. Fool them. Just say no to tyranny. You are not the enemy. Don’t act like one.

Sincerely,

CHRISTIAN WALGREEN’S PHARMACIST FIRED FOR REFUSING TO SELL MORNING AFTER PILL FILES LAWSUIT

Walgreen’s Pharmacist (Baptist Deacon)

Allegedly Fired for Refusing to Sell

Morning After Pill Files Suit:

EXCERPTS:
“A Christian pharmacist in Tennessee has sued the national drugstore chain Walgreens for allegedly firing him after he refused to sell the morning after pill against his religious convictions.”
“However, shortly after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) complied with a court order to make Plan B available over-the-counter, all employees, Hall contends, were told in a staff meeting that they were expected to both stock and sell it. Hall then contacted both his employers and the company headquarters to explain that he considers the drug “sinful and repugnant to his sincerely-held religious beliefs.””

Walgreens Pharmacist Fired for Not Dispensing Plan B Morning-After Pill

Walgreens Fires Pharmacist for Refusing to Dispense Plan B Morning After Pill:

EXCERPTS:
“Yesterday, the Thomas More Society filed a federal lawsuit in the Middle District of Tennessee on behalf of Pharmacist Dr. Philip Hall against the Walgreen Company. The complaint alleges that, in August 2013, Walgreens wrongfully fired Hall, who had been employed for six years as a pharmacist at Walgreens’ store in Jamestown, Tennessee, in violation of his constitutionally and statutorily protected rights to freedom of religion. Hall, a practicing Baptist, entertains profound religious and moral objections to dispensing abortifacients, or abortion-inducing drugs, such as Plan B. For six years, Walgreens respected Hall’s religious beliefs and gave him only favorable reviews for his work performance. But in August 2013, Walgreens did an “about-face” and tried to force Hall to dispense Plan B in violation of his beliefs.”

Before playing the video message from Pope Francis to Kenneth Copeland, Palmer told the crowd,  “When my wife saw that she could be Catholic, and Charismatic, and Evangelical, and Pentecostal, and it was absolutely accepted in the Catholic Church, she said that she would like to reconnect her roots with the Catholic culture. So she did.”
The crowd cheered, as he continued, “Brothers and sisters, Luther’s protest is over. Is yours?””

The Ark Community
An Inter-denominational Christian Convergent Community

Convergent – The acknowledgement, celebration and combining (converging) of all the
great Christian Streams, blending them into ONE unified Christian experience.

Convergence is simply the “coming together” of the various expressions of Christ through His Body, the Church, which is currently fragmented into ONE wholesome united reflection of the combined glory of His image… Undivided.

Over the 2000 years of our common Christian history, Christ has released His character into His Body, His Church in the forms of various historical “movements”. These movements or “streams” have been officially recognised by the entire Christian Church as the following:

The great spiritual streams are: – Contemplative

  • Holiness
  • Charismatic
  • Social Justice
  • Evangelical
  • Sacramental & Liturgical
Although all the above movements were recognised by all, they were not embraced by all! Theses streams were left to flow alone, and instead of God having ONE powerfully flowing river, He ended up with various trickling tributaries. Our diversity is Divine, but our division is diabolic!

If one takes time to study and experience each stream individually, we would find that each stream actually supports and feeds the other, and that none of them detract from the other at all. The various movements or streams are actually “inter-dependent” on each other.

Each stream contains a character of Christ Himself – We, the people of God, have divided Him and no-longer reveal Him as a UNITED Christ to His World that He came to Love and Save. We have divided our Saviour’s image… Convergence is simply experiencing Christ in His fullness by putting His image back together by converging the fragmented Christian expressions and streams.

Converging is simply giving back a complete picture of Jesus to a broken world whom is searching for a complete answer in a divided Church.

Diversity is the basis for true unity and completeness. Without each other’s diversity, we lack completeness. The diverse spiritual traditions actually complement each other, they were never meant to oppose each other. So convergence is not the “cloning” of any expression or denomination, but rather the celebration of what that expression can bring to the common image of Christ… For all that you have of God is what we lack… your gift of diversity was given to you so that you should bring to the Common table what you have and combine it with what we have to present a COMPLETE and UNITED image of Christ to the World!

We live in the generation of UNITY. God is uniting His fragmented characters. He is putting HIS image back together… Apostle Paul asked this very question when dealing with Christian division… “Is Christ divided?” … certainly not! Yet His image on earth is!

It is time for us bearing the image of God to humble ourselves and to embrace God’s will, and submit to His leading as He places the broken pieces together. We may find ourselves in uncomfortable places, with people we would not usually mix with, yet it seems right! God is converging the broken pieces of the human mirror so that we can reflect His complete glory in this generation.

I quote a dying man’s prayer: “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. “And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: “I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory ….”

Pope Francis’ Message For Christian Unity

At Kenneth Copeland Ministries:

Published on Feb 20, 2014

Pope Francis recorded a message of reconciliation and unity between the Catholic Church and the Evangelical Church for Kenneth Copeland Ministries, a group of Pentecostal Christians in the United States. Bishop Tony Palmer, a bishop from a Pentecostal Christian community, did the camera work with an iPhone. The bishop also serves as international ecumenical officer for the Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches, a group that is not affiliated with the Anglican Communion, and which takes a much simpler view of the path to full Christian unity than the pope and the mainline Christian churches do. The translation used for the English subtitles on the video are not precise, but the pope’s sincerity is clear.

Pope Francis sends message of Christian Unity to Evangelicals by Bishop Tony Palmer — FULL VIDEO !:

Pope Francis sends a private message of Reconciliation and Unity between the Catholic Church and the Evangelical Church by His personal Friend Bishop Tony Palmer. Pope Francis says ‘We are Brothers – Let us Come Together like Joseph and His Brothers’ !

Here is the transcript:

“Two rules: Love God above all, and love the other (neighbor), because he is your brother and sister. With these two rules we can go ahead. I am here with my brother, my bishop brother, Tony Palmer. We’ve been friends for years.
He told me about your conference, about your meeting. And it’s my pleasure to greet you. A greeting both joyful and nostalgic (yearning). Joyful because it gives me joy that you have come together to worship Jesus Christ the only Lord. And to pray to the Father and to receive the Holy Spirit. This brings me joy because we can see that God is working all over the world. Nostalgic (yearning) because but…it happens, as within our suburbs. In the suburbs there are families that love each other and families that don’t love each other. Families that come together and families who separate themselves. We are kind of…permit me to say, separated.
Separated because, it’s sin that has separated us, all our sins. The misunderstandings throughout history. It has been a long road of sins that we all shared in. Who is to blame? We all share the blame. We have all sinned. There is only one blameless, the Lord. I am nostalgic (yearning), that this separation comes to an end and gives us communion. I am nostalgic (yearning), of that embrace that the Holy Scripture speaks of when Joseph’s brothers began to starve from hunger, they went to Egypt, to buy, so that they could eat.
They went to buy. They had money. But they couldn’t eat the money. But there they found something more than food, they found their brother. All of us have currency. The currency of our culture. The currency of our history. We have lot of cultural riches, and religious riches. And we have diverse traditions. But we have to encounter one another as brothers. We must cry together like Joseph did. These tears will unite us. The tears of love.
I am speaking to you as a brother. I speak to you in a simple way. With joy and nostalgia (yearning). Let us allow our nostalgia (yearning) to grow, because this will propel us to find each other, to embrace one another. And together to worship Jesus Christ as the only Lord of History.
I thank you profoundly for listening to me. I thank you profoundly for allowing me to speak the language of the heart. And I also ask you a favor. Please pray for me, because I need your prayers. And I will pray for you, I will do it, but I need your prayers. And let us pray to the Lord that He unites us all. Come on, we are brothers. Let’s give each other a spiritual hug and let God complete the work that he has begun. And this is a miracle; the miracle of unity has begun.
A famous Italian author named Manzoni, once wrote in his novel, of a simle man amongst the people, who once said this, “I’ve never seen God begin a miracle without Him finishing it well.” He will complete this miracle of unity. I ask you to bless me, and I bless you. From brother to brother, I embrace you. Thank you.”

Pope Francis’s message of Christian Unity
Deals partially with a Catholic and Lutheran statement of faith in 1999 and an understanding of Grace and Works. This video asks the question of what separates Christians and whether God’s glory can unite us if we disregard correct teachings ie, is the need for church unity greater than correct doctrine and its requirement to understand the essence of our faith. Sounds unbelievable I know.

http://kennethcopelandministries.org/2013/03/historic-change/; REPUBLISHED  BELOW IN FULL UNEDITED FOR INFORMATIONAL, EDUCATIONAL, AND RESEARCH PURPOSES:
Pope Viewed as Pro-Unity, Pro-Renewal of the Holy Spirit
Over the past decade the Rt. Rev. Tony Palmer, a former director of Kenneth Copeland Ministries’ South African office and co-founder of The Ark Community, an international and interdenominational community of Christians based in the United Kingdom, has been extensively involved with the Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR).
In 2003, Palmer was invited by the Catholic Church to move to Europe and minister to Catholics within the CCR worldwide, as a non-Roman Catholic minister. As a result of this calling, Palmer has traveled to many countries around the world and participated in numerous meetings with leaders within the charismatic renewal.
It was during a mission to Argentina five years ago that Palmer met and soon became close friends with Argentine Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, now Pope Francis I.
“We had called on him to ask permission to minister in churches within his diocese for renewal,” Palmer recalled recently of that first meeting. “Immediately, Cardinal Bergoglio shared his heart and appreciation for what we were doing, and fully embraced us and the work of the Holy Spirit in and through us—not only to Catholic people, but to all Christian denominations.”
On March 13, Cardinal Bergoglio became the first non-European pope in more than 1,000 years when he was elected to replace the outgoing Pope Benedict XVI, who abdicated on February 28. The 76-year-old Bergoglio, who has now taken on the name Pope Francis, after the humble Catholic friar St. Francis of Assisi, will be installed at the Vatican on March 19.
“It is quite surreal for me to see my friend, spiritual father and prayer partner as the Pope,” Palmer said this past weekend while on a ministry trip to Italy. “We have a good pope who is pro-unity and pro-renewal of the Holy Spirit. He believes that all Christians are one!”
Like the leader whose name he chose to draw from, Pope Francis is himself considered humble and is described as a conservative with “great compassion.”
In a speech he delivered to his cardinals two days after being elected, Pope Francis showed signs of his humility, compassion and his reverence of the Holy Spirit when he told them: “Someone said to me: the Cardinals are the priests of the Holy Father. That community, that friendship, that closeness will do us all good. And our acquaintance and mutual openness have helped us to be docile to the action of the Holy Spirit. He, the Paraclete, is the ultimate source of every initiative and manifestation of faith….The Paraclete creates all the differences among the Churches, almost as if He were an Apostle of Babel. But on the other hand, it is He who creates unity from these differences, not in ‘equality,’ but in harmony….The Paraclete, who gives different charisms to each of us, unites us in this community of the Church, that worships the Father, the Son, and Him, the Holy Spirit.”
From the inception of The Ark Community, KCM has maintained a strong partnership with Palmer through prayer and by supporting his mission work. It was through Palmer’s assistance that Kenneth and Gloria Copeland were able to minister to the Roman Catholic Church in Italy for the first time ever in 2006. They have since returned there to minister.
In light of the historic change taking place in the Catholic Church, we asked Palmer for his insight into the election of the new Pope, and what effect he feels this might have on the Body of Christ overall. Here is some of what he had to say:
BVOV: How do you believe this election will affect the Church, the Body of believers?
PALMER: It will greatly influence what’s already happening. Things began to change between 1962 and 1965, when Pope John XXIII opened up the Second Vatican Council by invoking the Holy Spirit and asking God for a “new Pentecost.” He asked that God would: “Renew Your wonders in our time….” God answered, and in 1967 a small group of faithful Catholics met in Pittsburgh, Pa., and called upon their Pentecostal friends to lay hands on them so they (as Roman Catholics) may receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Pope John Paul II watched as this small group grew into a “movement” and expanded across the Atlantic and into many other countries. In 46 years, this group of Catholics has grown to over 180 million spirit-filled, born-again, faithful Catholic Christians. Pope Benedict XVI followed in Pope John Paul’s footsteps and publicly supported and encouraged those involved in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. Now, as evidenced by the choice of his name, Pope Francis wants to honor Saint Francis of Assisi, who was a Charismatic Catholic who founded an order of devout Christians professing to live the Gospel and nothing else! Pope Francis is openly committing himself and the Church to emulate the spirituality of Saint Francis and his followers, which is to follow Jesus wholeheartedly and establish the Kingdom of God through living the Franciscan motto, which Saint Francis is famous for saying: “Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary, use words.” This is the central passion that drives Pope Francis. He always tells me that we all need to live like Jesus. It’s all about Jesus! Pope Francis is openly supportive of the work of the Holy Spirit and the Charismatic renewal, and in his choosing of Saint Francis’ name, he promises to continue to support what the Holy Spirit has begun.
BVOV: What is uniquely different and meaningful about Pope Francis and his appointment?
PALMER: An important attribute that Pope Francis brings to the Papacy is his honest and sincere openness to the unity of all Christians. He is a man of God who understands the unity of the Church in its diversity. He constantly shows his public fraternal brotherhood toward all Christians. For example, when he was introduced during a large Christian meeting in Buenos Aires where over 5,000 evangelical protestant leaders were in attendance, Pope Francis (then Cardinal Bergoglio) knelt down in front of the evangelical pastors and asked them to lay hands on him and bless him! Every year, as Cardinal, he would join his evangelical brothers (pastors) for their annual weeklong retreat—not as a guest speaker to teach, but as one of them. During our times together, we have spoken about our shared pain of the division of Christians, and together we have shared both tears and prayers for her healing—the one Bride of Christ.
BVOV: Why should we, as believers, be excited?
PALMER: I believe there exists enough evidence to cause every open-minded and open-eyed Christian to rejoice in the fact that a good man has been chosen to be pope—the spokesperson for western Christianity. He is a man after Jesus’ heart and a man full of the Spirit of God—open and humble enough to forgive and embrace brothers and sisters from all Christian denominations, allowing and assisting wounds of division to be healed. The time of “spiritual apartheid” is coming to an end, and I believe Pope Francis will be one of the proponents of its demise. We have a worldwide charismatic movement of the renewal of the Holy Spirit within the Catholic Church, officially and publicly supported by the last three popes, as well as the current pope. We now live in a post-Protestant era with a pope who openly embraces his brothers and sisters of all Christian denominations to the point of publicly kneeling for the laying on of hands and prayer by evangelical leaders. God is continuing what He began when Pope John XXIII prayed for a “new Pentecost” back in 1962. He has heard the prayers and tasted the tears of the faithful who, over the years, have joined our Master and Captain in His High Priestly prayer in John 17:21: “Father make them one so that the world will believe that You sent Me.” Diversity is divine, but division is diabolic. It’s time to celebrate diversity in the bond of unity. We are one Bride, one Body in one Baptism.

POPE JOINS CHARISMATICS IN CALL FOR ONE-WORLD CHURCH (Friday Church News Notes, February 28, 2014, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – In an informal seven-minute video that has been posted to YouTube, Pope Francis calls for the unity of all Christians. The context is even more instructive. The video was recorded on a smartphone owned by Anglican Episcopal charismatic bishop Anthony Palmer when he visited the Vatican recently. Palmer has known the pope since the latter was an archbishop in Argentina. The pope’s video clip was recorded to be played at a Pentecostal pastors conference hosted by Kenneth Copeland, a man laden down with heresies who falls on the floor and laughs hysterically while “drunk in the spirit.” The pope said that all Christians are to blame for disunity, and that God has begun the miracle of Christian unity and will finish it.
In his remarks at the Copeland crusade before the pope’s video was played, Palmer showed that he is a passionate and effective one-world church builder. He has a personal testimony of conversion experience, says he believes in salvation by God’s grace
alone, and is well spoken and personable. But he could not be more deceived. Consider the following statements carefully that Palmer made as a prelude to the pope’s remarks: “I come tonight in the spirit of Elijah, which is the spirit of reconciliation. … I’ve come to understand that diversity is divine; it’s division that is diabolic. … It’s the glory that glues us together, not the doctrine. If you accept that the presence of God is in me and the presence of God is in you, that’s all we need. God will sort out all our doctrines when we get upstairs. … Division destroys our credibility. … I believe we will see more people go out into the churches in the spirit of Elijah. We need to throw as much resources and energy into the ministry of reconciliation as we do to the ministry of evangelization. I challenge you to find a bridge builder and back him.”

Nothing could be more dangerous and unscriptural than to replace Bible doctrine with experience as the basis of unity. This is the heart and soul of the charismatic delusion, and now we see it being proposed by the pope of Rome as the foundation for a one-world church. In his own call for unity, Palmer said nothing about the heresies of the papacy, the priesthood, sacramentalism, infant baptism, baptismal regeneration, the mass, mariolatry, purgatory, the saints, prayers to the dead, nunnery, monasticism, and a host of other heresies. He said nothing about Copeland’s Word-Faith heresies. With his philosophy of “Elijah reconciliation,” none of that matters as long as an individual loves “Jesus,” believes the “gospel,” and has the “spirit.” We aren’t allowed to examine WHAT Jesus, WHAT gospel, or WHAT spirit. That type of examination would spoil the unity and bring us right back to division, which, we are led to believe, is diabolic.

What spiritual deception! How late the hour is! No wonder Jesus warned that false teachers will become so subtle that “if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect” (Mat. 24:24). Be not deceived, the following verse single handedly destroys the call for end-time unity: “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort
you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” (Jude 3).

KENNETH COPELAND’S ENTHUSIASM OVER THE POPE’S CALL FOR UNITY(Friday Church News Notes, February 28, 2014, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – After the pope’s video call for unity was finished, Kenneth Copeland said, “Glory, glory, glory. … Heaven is thrilled over this.” He said, “You know what is so thrilling to me? When we went into the ministry 47 years ago, this was impossible.” Copeland prayed for the pope in his nonsensical, fake, gibberish “tongues.” He recorded a video message for the pope in which he said, “All of these leaders [at the conference] represent literally tens of thousands of people that love you. … Thank you, sir. We do bless you, and we receive your blessing. We thank God for you.” Then he led the crowd in shouting together to the pope by video, “We Bless You!!!!!” Copeland said that he is available to visit the Vatican.

ALL ECUMENICAL ROADS LEAD TO ROME (Friday Church News Notes, February 28, 2014, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – Anglican Episcopal bishop Tony Palmer, who video recorded Pope Frances’ call for Christian unity, made the following statement at the Kenneth Copeland meeting: “When my wife saw that she could be Catholic, and Charismatic, and Evangelical, and Pentecostal, and it was absolutely accepted in the Catholic Church, she said that she would like to reconnect her roots with the Catholic culture. So she did.” The Pentecostal crowd cheered, as Palmer continued, “Brothers and sisters, Luther’s protest is over. Is yours?”
GLUE FOR THE ONE-WORLD “CHURCH” (Friday Church News Notes, February 28, 2014, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – The Kenneth Copeland conference in which the pope’s video call for unity was shown is a petri dish for the examination of the end-time one-world “church.” All of the elements were there. There was the contemporary worship music. There was the charismatic focus on feeling and experience. There was the “unity in diversity.” There was the rejection of biblical separatism and the labeling of it as “diabolical.” And there was Rome, showing the most humble, innocent, spiritually-passionate, and harmless of her many faces.
HAS THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH CHANGED ITS DOCTRINE OF JUSTIFICATION? (Friday Church News Notes, February 28, 2014, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – Anglican Episcopal Bishop Anthony Palmer, who has joined the pope in calling for Christian unity and condemning “division,” claims that the issue of justification has been settled and that Rome has agreed that justification is by grace alone. Therefore, there is no reason for further disunity. The protest is over, he says; there should be no more “protestants”; all Christians should be “Catholics”; there should be one “church.” If the issue were not so serious with such terrible eternal ramifications, this position would be laughable. Palmer is referring to the 1999 Joint Declaration of Justification that was signed by the Vatican and some Lutheran denominations and has since been accepted by some Methodists. The declaration states, “Together we confess: by grace alone, in faith in Christ’s saving work and not because of any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping us and calling us to good works.”

FIRST, PALMER IS WRONG ABOUT ROME’S DOCTRINE OF SALVATION. The Joint Declaration on Justification doesn’t mean that the Roman Catholic Church no longer preaches salvation through sacraments! Rome has a genius for giving theological words new meanings. She is a chameleon who has changed colors countless times. In the current debate, she has redefined “grace” and “alone” and “justification.” She is an ecclesiastical example of a naughty little boy telling a lie with his fingers’ crossed behind his back, and the apostate Protestants sitting at her table don’t know or care. In the Council of Trent and the Second Vatican Council and the New Catholic Catechism, Rome stated her doctrine of salvation in the clearest of terms: salvation is by faith in Christ PLUS sacraments. Salvation was purchased by Christ and given to the “church” to be distributed through the sacraments, and it begins with baptismal regeneration. Rome has expressed ZERO repentance for this false gospel. (For documentation see the report “How Rome Denies Salvation by Grace Alone” at the Way of Life web site.)

SECOND, PALMER IS WRONG ABOUT THE ESSENCE OF THE REFORMATION. Insofar as it went (and it fell terribly short of being Scriptural), the essence of the Reformation was about the authority of Scripture —
sola scriptura. And the Roman Catholic Church is not even pretending that Scripture is the sole authority for its faith and practice. For this essential fact to be ignored shows the duplicity of the unity movement.

THIRD, PALMER IS WRONG ABOUT THE BASIS FOR UNITY. Even if two professing Christians or churches agree on the doctrine of salvation, that is far from being a sufficient basis for unity in fellowship and ministry. We are commanded to earnestly contend for the faith once delivered to the saints (Jude 3). What part of the faith? All of it! We are to mark and avoid those whose teaching is contrary to the doctrine which we have learned from Scripture (Rom. 16:17). Even if one accepts the philosophy of “essential” vs. “non-essential” doctrine, there are still dozens of “essential” doctrines that would form the basis for separation. We are to prove ALL things, not just some things (1 Thess. 5:21). Paul taught Timothy to allow “no other doctrine” into the churches (1 Tim. 1:3). This is not a complicated matter. The bottom line is that it is impossible to join any unity movement today while being faithful to God’s Word.

THE BREADTH OF THE POPE’S ECUMENISM (Friday Church News Notes, February 28, 2014, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – Pope Francis is fulfilling Bible prophecy with his broad ecumenical vision. According to Revelation 17, Roman Catholicism is at the heart of the one-world religion that will yoke together with the Antichrist. Only Rome could fit the bill as the city on seven hills, and only Catholicism is clothed in purple and scarlet, has a golden cup in her hand, and is drunken with the blood of the martyrs. But the vision of Revelation 17 extends beyond Rome. The Harlot is a mother who has daughters and her reach is global (Rev. 17:15). Ecumenism has been “in the air” since the great world missionary conferences of the turn of the 20th century and the Second Vatican Council of the 1960s. Francis is standing on the shoulders of popes such as John XXIII (who headed up Vatican II) and John Paul II (the personable jet-setting pope who was beloved of a long line of evangelicals led by Billy Graham). Francis is calling for unity among all Christians. And he is calling for unity with Jews. This month, when he received a delegation of the American Jewish Committee, he said that Catholics and Jews must work together “for a more just and fraternal world” (“Pope: Jews and Catholics,” AsiaNews.it, Feb. 13, 2014). Francis is even calling for unity with atheists. Last year he said, “The Lord has redeemed all of us, all of us, with the Blood of Christ: all of us, not just Catholics. … Even the atheists. Everyone! … And this commandment for everyone to do good, I think, is a beautiful path towards peace” (“Pope at Mass,”Vatican Radio, May 22, 2013). For his part, John Paul II included all of the world religions in the ecumenical vision, yoking multiple times with Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Sikhs, Bahai’s, Animists, etc. in prayer for world peace in Assisi, Italy.

Fifty Years of Anglican Liberalism

Updated May 22, 2014 (first published June 16, 2003) (David Cloud, Fundamental Baptist Information Service, P.O. Box 610368, Port Huron, MI 48061, 866-295-4143, fbns@wayoflife.org)

zz_50_yrs_anglican_liberalism

The worldwide Anglican Communion is composed of some 80 million members * in 164 countries, including the “mother church,” the Church of England, and the Episcopal Church in America. (* A large percentage of Anglican members are “invisible” because they are church members due to the fact that they were baptized as infants and perhaps catechized, but they do not participate in the functional life of the churches.)
The Anglican Church is permeated with theological liberalism at every level.

Consider some examples:

In 1953, Archbishop of Canterbury William Temple, in his book
Nature and God, said, “… there is no such thing as revealed truth.”

In 1960, Episcopalian Bishop James Pike said the doctrine of the Trinity is “outdated, incomprehensible and nonessential” (
The Christian Century, Dec. 21, 1960). (Billy Graham was a guest at Pike’s ordination on May 15, 1958 and praised the liberal bishop in glowing terms. Nine days later, Graham invited Pike to sit on the platform during his evangelistic crusade in San Francisco and had him lead in prayer. On Dec. 4, 1960, Graham spoke in Pike’s pulpit at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco.)

In 1961, Archbishop of Canterbury Michael Ramsey said, “… heaven is not a place for Christians only. … I expect to see many present day atheists there” (
London Daily Mail, Oct. 2, 1961). That same year, Bishop James Pike called the virgin birth of Christ a “primitive myth” and said that Joseph was probably Jesus’ real father (Redbookmagazine, August 1961). He also said that Adam and Eve, the Garden of Eden, heaven, and hell are myths. (Billy Graham invited Ramsey to the platform during his 1975 crusade in Brazil and allowed him to speak to the crowd (Fundamental Evangelistic Association News & Views, May-June 1975).

In 1963, Episcopal theologian Paul van Buren started the God-is-dead movement with the publication of his book
The Secular Meaning of the Gospel. That same year, Anglican Bishop John Robinson said in his book Honest to God, “The whole scheme of a supernatural being coming down from heaven to ‘save’ mankind from sin … is frankly incredible to man ‘come of age.’”

In 1967, after heresy charges were brought against Bishop James Pike, the Episcopal Church in America adopted a resolution declaring that all heresy was out of date. That year, Canon Hugh Montifiore of Cambridge University’s main church said, “Jesus might have been a homosexual” (
Christianity Today, Aug. 18, 1967). (Montifiore was the advisor for the Cambridge Billy Graham Television Crusade.)

In 1968, the Church of England’s Lambeth Conference voted that Anglican clergy are no longer required to agree to the denomination’s 39 articles of faith.

In 1976, John Spong was ordained as the bishop of the Episcopal diocese of Newark, New Jersey, even though he denied practically every doctrine of the Christian faith.

In 1977, Bishop Paul Moore of the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City ordained lesbian Ellen Barrett as a priest. Barrett told
Time magazine that her lesbian love affairs gave her the “strength to serve God.”

In 1978, Anglican Bishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa said the Holy Spirit shined through Mahatma Gandhi, who is a Hindu (St. Alban’s Cathedral, Pretoria, South Africa, Nov. 23, 1978).

In 1980, Tutu said, “It may be that Jesus was an illegitimate son” (
Cape Times, Oct. 24, 1980).

In 1982, Archbishop of Canterbury Robert Runcie said he was an agnostic as to why Jesus suffered on the cross (
Sunday Times Weekly Review, London, April 11, 1982). That same year, Episcopal Bishop John Spong, writing in the Christian Century (Jan. 6-13, 1982), condemned traditional evangelistic and missionary endeavors and said that biblical absolutism is “a vice.” (Billy Graham was one of the honored guests at Runcie’s ordination in March 1980, and Graham spoke highly of the liberal archbishop during his evangelistic crusades in England in 1984 and 1989.)

In 1984, David Jenkins, Anglican Bishop of Durham, described Christ’s resurrection as “a conjuring trick with bones” (“English Bishop Calls Christ’s Resurrection Conjuring Trick,” AP,
St. Louis Post Dispatch, Oct. 28, 1984). Jenkins also said, “The Christian is not bound up with freak biology or corpses getting up and walking around” and “You don’t have to believe in the virgin birth.” (On July 9, 1984, three days after Jenkins was consecrated bishop, lightning struck his cathedral and caused extensive damage. A spokesman for the fire brigade said that though the roof was fully wired with lightning rods, none of them worked that morning; the smoke detectors in the ceiling did not go off, even though they were tested only a month before; and there was no thunder accompanying the lightning. EP News Service, Dec. 21, 1984).

In 1984, the Associated Press reported that only 20 of 31 Church of England bishops polled insisted that Christians must accept Jesus as both God and man.

In 1985, the Jesus Seminar was founded with the help of Episcopalians, including Marcus Borg of Oregon State University. The Seminar claims that Jesus spoke only about 20% of the things attributed to him in the New Testament and that the Jesus described in the Bible is largely a fiction. They claim he wasn’t born of a virgin, didn’t walk on the water, didn’t rise bodily from the dead, and had no intention of starting a new Christian religion. They also claim that there was no Jewish trial of Jesus before the crucifixion and the Jewish crowd did not participate in his condemnation.

In 1985 the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Minneapolis ran an advertising campaign which included this slogan: “The Episcopal Church welcomes you. Regardless of race, creed, color or the number of times you’ve been born.” Twenty Episcopal churches in the Memphis, Tennessee, area ran an advertisement which stated, “In an atmosphere of absolute right and wrongs, here’s a little room to breathe. … the Episcopal Church is totally committed to the preservation of open dialogue and undogmatic faith. We exist to tell the world about a God who loves us regardless of what we’ve done or what we believe. Even if we do not believe in Him, He believes in us. We do not suffocate with absolutes.” This, of course, is not biblical Christianity; it is gross apostasy.

When Edmond Lee Browning was elected “presiding bishop” of the Episcopal Church in September 1985, he “made it clear that he disagrees with the church’s official opposition to the ordination of practicing homosexuals” (Religious News Service, Sept. 11, 1985). He stated, “I would sincerely hope the Episcopal Church can say that there are no outcasts, but embrace all people and all cultures.” He was one of 20 bishops who signed a 1979 statement calling the church’s position on gays “a cruel denial of the sexual being of homosexual persons” and a “condemnatory judgment” that made them second-class citizens in the church.

In 1986, Anglican Bishop David Jenkins got a standing ovation from the general synod of the Church of England when he defended his doubts about the virgin birth and bodily resurrection of Christ (Associated Press, July 7, 1986). Jenkins called the God of the Bible “a cultic idol” (Ecumenical Press Service, July 16-21, 1986).

In 1987, a panel of seven Episcopal bishops dismissed heresy charges against Bishop John Spong.

In 1988, Spong published his book
Living in Sin: A Bishop Rethinks Human Sexuality. He said, “The time has surely come not just to tolerate, or even to accept, but to celebrate and welcome the presence among us of our gay and lesbian fellow human beings” (p. 199). That year Spong visited a Buddhist temple and said, “As the smell of incense filled the air, I knelt before three images of the Buddha, feeling that the smoke could carry my prayers heavenward. It was for me a holy moment for I was certain that I was kneeling on holy ground” (“A Dialogue in a Buddhist Temple,” John Spong, The Voice, Jan. 1989).

In January 1989, a committee composed of five Episcopal bishops unanimously dismissed a second set of heresy charges that had been brought against Bishop John Spong. Toward the end of that year, Spong ordained the first openly practicing homosexual to the Episcopal priesthood. The man, Robert Williams, was diagnosed with AIDS less than two years later.

According to Integrity, a pro-homosexual Episcopal group, at least 50 practicing homosexuals had been ordained to the priesthood by 1991.

In November 1991, John Spong conducted a seminar in Bangor, Pennsylvania, entitled “Exorcising Fundamentalism, Sexual Phobias and Other Demons.”

In 1993, a survey of nearly 20,000 Episcopalians showed that seventy percent believed “faithful Christians can be sexually active gays and lesbians” (
Christian News, Nov. 1, 1993). Seventy-five percent approved of living with someone of the opposite sex without marriage.

In 1994, it was reported by the
Sunday Times (July 31) in London that at least 100 Anglican priests are atheists who do not believe in “an external, supernatural God.”

In 1996, Archbishop of Canterbury George Carey lashed out at fundamentalists who place the Bible “above and beyond human inquiry” (
Christian News, Dec. 9, 1996). That same year, the doctrinal commission of the Church of England said hell is not a place of fire and eternal torment. And Episcopal Bishop John Spong wrote in his paper that the image of God in the Bible is “no longer operative” (ENI, Dec. 6, 1996).

In 1997, a survey found that 31% of Anglican vicars in England do not believe in the virgin birth (
Alliance Life, March 12, 1997). Actually that figure would probably have been much higher had the survey attempted to discover the number of vicars who believe in the virgin birth only in a figurative manner.

In his 1991 book
Rescuing the Bible from Fundamentalism, Episcopal Bishop John Spong said the apostle Paul was “a self hating, repressed homosexual.” That year, Spong ordained another homosexual priest, Barry Stopfel. Lesbian Episcopal priest Carter Heyward delivered the ordination sermon. When Stopfel’s male “lover” was introduced, the audience applauded.

In 1998 Episcopalian Bishop John Spong said, “I would choose to loathe rather than to worship a deity who required the sacrifice of his son” (
Christianity Today, June 15, 1998). That same year, retiring Episcopal Presiding Bishop Edmond Browning said, “It is time to move past using literalistic readings of the Bible to create prejudices against our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters” (Calvary Contender, May 1, 1998).

In 2002, Richard Harries, Anglican Bishop of Oxford, said Christians should pray to “God the Mother”
(The Times, Nov. 3, 2002). That same year, retired Bishop Spong proposed a “new Christianity,” which must be able to “incorporate all of our reality. It must be able to allow God and Satan to come together in each of us. … It must unite Christ with Antichrist, Jesus with Judas, male with female, heterosexual with homosexual” (World, July 8, 2002).

In April 2003, Episcopalian bishop Charles Bennison said that Jesus Christ was a sinner (
Worthy News, April 14, 2003).

On June 7, 2003, the Diocese of New Hampshire elected the first openly homosexual bishop in the history of the Episcopal Church USA. The election was confirmed on August 5 by the General Convention meeting in Minneapolis. Thirteen years ago the newly elected bishop, V. Gene Robinson, broke his marriage vows when he left his wife and two young daughters and moved in with his male partner, Mark Andrew. In a speech in April 29, 2000, the day before a homosexual march in Washington, D.C., Robinson said: “… we are worthy to hold our heads high as gay folk–NOT because we’ve merely decided we are worthy, but because God has proclaimed it so. That we are loved beyond our wildest imagining by a God who made us the way we are and proclaimed it good. We proclaim today that we too read our Bibles, and through the voices of its many witnesses, we hear God’s voice–NOT saying ‘You are an abomination,’ but rather, ‘You are my beloved.’ We lay an equal claim to a savior who loves us as we are and who died to save us from our ‘manifold sins and wickedness,’ which does NOT include our being gay. And we come here today, laying claim to our full membership–our FULL membership–in the Body of Christ.”

In June 2006, the national convention of the Episcopal Church in America voted overwhelmingly against a resolution stating “an unchanging commitment to Jesus Christ as the son of God, the only name by which any person may be saved. More than seven tenths of the House of Deputies rejected the motion. One of those who voted against the resolution, a “Rev. McDowell” of North Carolina, told VirtueOnline that “how one lives his life is the more important issue than whether one affirms Jesus as Lord” and stated his conviction that all men are already children of God.

The 2006 Episcopal convention elected the ultra-liberal Katharine Jefferts Schori to be the presiding bishop for a nine-year term. In her first sermon in that capacity she referred to “our mother Jesus,” claiming that he gave birth to a new creation on the cross and implying that all are his children. Later she told the
Washington Post that those who believe that the words of the Bible have only one possible interpretation are guilty of idolatry. She said, “I’m encouraging people to look beyond their favorite understandings” (Douglas LeBlanc, “Two Minds in One Episcopal Body,” Christian Research Journal, vol. 29, no. 5, 2006).

At the same convention, Louie Crew and some other voting representatives (called deputies) referred to the Holy Spirit as “she.” The homosexual bishop Gene Robinson said the Holy Spirit “is that part of God that refuses to be confined and contained in the little boxes we have for God” (“Two Minds in One Episcopal Body,”
Christian Research Journal, vol. 29, no. 5, 2006). He said, further, “We don’t worship a God who is all locked up in the Scripture of 2,000 years ago.” He quoted John Fortunato, a homosexual author who claims that God visited him and confirmed that homosexuality is fine if it is “loving.” He said, “God smiled and said quietly, ‘How can loving be wrong? All love comes from me.”

On September 14, 2008, the Church of England officially apologized to Charles Darwin for rejecting his theory of evolution. It said: “Charles Darwin, 200 years from your birth, the Church of England owes you an apology for misunderstanding you and, by getting our first reaction wrong, encouraging others to misunderstand you still” (“Church Makes ‘Ludicrous’ Apology,”
The Daily Mail, Sept. 13, 2008). The statement was written by Malcolm Brown, who sits on the Archbishops’ Council, the Church of England’s managing body, headed by the Archbishop of Canterbury (Rowan Williams). Its argument that the theory of evolution is not incompatible with Christian teaching is patently ridiculous. The Bible plainly says that the world was created by God in six days, that the plant and animal life was made to reproduce after its own kind, that man was made in God’s image, that he sinned against God, and that the world was cast into fallen chaos. This fits perfectly with the condition that we see in the world today as well as the archaeological and geological records. If there was no divine creation, if man is a product of evolution, then Genesis is a myth, the fall is a fable, there is no purpose to life, no afterlife, and no salvation. If the account of Adam is a legend, then Jesus Christ’s apostles were deceived and the gospel they preached a delusion, because they mentioned Adam seven times in their writings, describing him always as a historical figure.

On May 16, 2009, the bells of the Anglican Cathedral of Liverpool pealed out John Lennon’s atheistic song “Imagine” three times. A spokesperson for the cathedral said, “We feel this performance has inspired many people to think about their relationship with God in their lives” (“Imagine That,”
The Daily Mail, May 17, 2009). Indeed, as we have seen, many members of the Anglican Church have no problem imagining with Lennon that there is no heaven or hell. John Lennon was anti-christ. His book A Spaniard in the Works portrayed Jesus as El Pifico, a “garlic eating, stinking little yellow, greasy fascist ****** Catholic Spaniard.” In this wicked book, Lennon further blasphemed the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In the song “I Found Out,” Lennon sang, “There ain’t no Jesus gonna come from the sky,” and in his song “God,” he said, “I don’t believe in Bible. I don’t believe in Jesus. I just believe in me.” In an interview with a British newspaper Lennon defined God in these words: “All the energy is God. Your own energy and their energy, whether doing god-like things or ungodly things” (The Daily Sketch, Oct. 9, 1967). Lennon and Yoko Ono were heavily involved in occultism. The books Hellhounds on Their Trail by Gary Patterson, Nowhere Man: The Final Days of John Lennon by Robert Rosen, and Lennon in America by Geoffrey Giuliano describe how the Lennons purchased entire sections of occult literature in bookstores, consulted tarot cards, astrologers, and psychics, learned how to cast spells, sought magical power from Egyptian artifacts, and believed in reincarnation.

Following a vote in May 2009 by the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland to approve the appointment of a homosexual pastor, Desmond Tutu, Anglican Bishop Emeritus of Cape Town, South Africa, voiced his approval saying that churches should not be discussing “who goes to bed with whom” (“Desmond Tutu Endorses Homosexual Ministers,” LifeSiteNews.com, May 29, 2009). The homosexual pastor, Scott Rennie, was ordained the pastor of Queen’s Cross Church in Aberdeen in 2008, but his appointment was protested and brought before the denomination’s ruling body. Like Vickie Gene Robinson, who was ordained a bishop in the Episcopal Church of America in 2003, Rennie divorced his wife to live carnally with a man. This is a double sin. First, there is the sin of breaking one’s solemn marriage vows before Almighty God. Second, there is the sin of sodomy. Yet these men are so spiritually blind that they claim to hold the moral high ground! (The Church of Scotland is not part of the Anglican communion, but Tutu is.)

At its annual convention in 2012, the Episcopal Church in America endorsed the blessing of “same-sex unions” and voted in favor of “transgender clergy” (Rob Kerby, “Why Is the Episcopal Church Near Collapse?”
Beliefnet.com, July 13, 2012). Presiding Bishop Katharine Jeffferts Schori called God the “Big Man.”

In 2013, the Church of England “dropped its ban on gay clergy in civil partnerships becoming bishops” and a study group proposed that the Church “be able to recognize and celebrate same-sex marriages and partnerships in church services” (“Church of England Proposes Celebrating Gay Marriage,” Newsmax.com, Nov. 28, 2013).

In 2014, V. Gene Robinson, the first openly homosexual bishop in the Anglican church, announced that he is divorcing his “partner,” Mark Andrew. The two “married” in 2010 when same-sex marriage was legalized in New Hampshire (“First Openly Homosexual Episcopal Bishop Divorces,”
OneNewsNow, May 4, 2014). In 1990, Robinson broke his marriage vows when he left his wife and two young daughters and moved in with Andrew.

FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION ATTEMPTS TO MONITOR NEWSROOM ACTIVITIES~FREEDOM OF THE PRESS AT RISK

UPDATE FEBRUARY 24, 2014

Iron Fisted FCC Trampling First Amendment:

Published on Feb 24, 2014

Greta Van Interviews FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai – ” Government Doesn’t Have a Place in the Newsroom “:

Published on Feb 20, 2014

2-20-14 – (Fox News) – FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai brought people’s attention to a planned FCC study to study U.S. newsrooms and warned about its First Amendment implications. Pai joined Greta Van Susteren on Thursday to speak out further, saying there is a danger in giving the government oversight of a free press. It’s not the FCC directly conducting the study, it’s an outside contractor, but these researchers will be going, at the behest of the regulatory agency, into newsrooms to “figure out why they cover the stories that they do,” Pai explained, and he said he went public because he was “concerned about what this implicated for our First Amendment values.” Pai told Van Susteren that the questions about “news philosophy and editorial judgment” will be taken out, as per new statements today by the head of the FCC, but even with that, Van Susteren said, “You’d have to be out of your mind to have proposed this in the first place.” Pai agreed that “government doesn’t have a place in the newsroom,” and while the FCC has an authority to report on “barriers” to news access, he argued that thanks to the “unparalleled amount of choice” people have for media consumption, there are fewer barriers to media access than ever.

Glenn Beck Blasts Obama’s Media Takeover (Video):

Glenn Beck Blasts Obama’s Media Takeover (Video) In the video below Glenn Beck makes an impassioned statement about the new FCC plan to “monitor” newsrooms across America with the intention of intimidating the media into reporting what the administration wants reported and hiding what it doesn’t want made public.
Beck is not the one who originally suggests stations will be intimidated by government agents being placed into the newsrooms, no that came from acting FCC commissioner Ajit Pai, who took to the Wall Street Journal op-ed pages to rip the lid off of Obama’s attempt to create a state run media propaganda machine out of all newsrooms and local stations.

Via Ajit Pai: But everyone should agree on this: The government has no place pressuring media organizations into covering certain stories. Unfortunately, the Federal Communications Commission, where I am a commissioner, does not agree. Last May the FCC proposed an initiative to thrust the federal government into newsrooms across the country. With its “Multi-Market Study of Critical Information Needs,” or CIN, the agency plans to send researchers to grill reporters, editors and station owners about how they decide which stories to run. A field test in Columbia, S.C., is scheduled to begin this spring.

Won’t Answer Questions When Called Repeatedly:

Alex Jones and David Knight discuss the FCC’s plan to install newsroom monitors/censors into communities across the country under the guise of helping women and minorities. The FCC plans to also look at newspapers, an area where they have zero control and over site. On Thursday, David Knight called the FCC representative listed on press release with some open questions about the project. He declined to answer any questions and sent him to a voicemail for the public office of media operations. Trying to get the government to answer some simple questions is like to trying to sign up for Obamacare.

EXCERPT:
“Pastor Ryan Ferguson, of North Hills Community Church in Greenville, uploaded a20 minute video to YouTube, calling BJU’s termination of the GRACE Investigation “harmful to survivors of abuse.””
Published on Feb 20, 2014
This recording is my personal appeal to Bob Jones University to review the way in which they have communicated to survivors of abuse specifically in the firing of GRACE (Godly Response to Abuse in a Christian Environment). Using the University’s communication, I attempt to give a view of how their communication is thoughtless when it comes to survivors of abuse.

OHIO FORCED HEALTHCARE~AMISH REFUSE CHEMOTHERAPY FOR CHILD~HOSPITAL RETALIATES, IMPOSES ITS WILL OVER PARENTS

Ohio Parents Stop Coercive Medicine

Aimed at Daughter

EXCERPT:
“After battling Ohio state officials and even going into hiding to stop authorities from forcing their young daughter to receive controversial chemotherapy, a cancer treatment that the parents said was killing her, an Amish family is one “big step” closer to victory. Last week, in a ruling that is being celebrated as a small win for parental rights and healthcare freedom, a judge ruled that the court-mandated “guardian” assigned to make decisions for the girl could drop the bid to coerce 11-year-old Sarah Hershberger into receiving chemo against the family’s will.”
“The family’s saga, which has made headlines around the world, first attracted public scrutiny after the devout Hershberger parents decided in July to stop chemotherapy for their daughter, who suffers from leukemia. The Hershbergers believed the therapy was having a devastating and potentially fatal impact on their child and chose to try other options such as natural medicines instead. The Akron Children’s Hospital disagreed with the parents’ decision and contacted authorities in an effort to have the social services remove the girl from her home and force the treatment on her at gunpoint.”
