PHOENIX, Ariz. — The popular pharmacy chain CVS has fired an Arizona pharmacist after he declined to fill prescriptions relating to a gender “transition” for a man who identifies as a woman.
On Thursday, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) shared a story written by the customer, who goes by the name Hilde Hall. He outlined that in April, after leaving a doctor’s appointment, he went to CVS to have his first prescriptions for hormone “therapy” filled.
“I was finally going to start seeing my body reflect my gender identity and the woman I’ve always known myself to be,” Hall wrote.
The pharmacist at the Fountain Hills CVS who assisted Hall repeatedly inquired about the purpose of the prescriptions. Hall did not wish to answer and didn’t like the volume of the pharmacist’s voice.
“Embarrassed and distressed, I nearly started crying in the middle of the store. I didn’t want to answer why I had been prescribed this hormone therapy combination by my doctor,” he stated. “I felt like the pharmacist was trying to out me as transgender in front of strangers. I just froze and worked on holding back the tears.”
Hall said that the pharmacist—whose name has not been made public—would not give the prescription note back, so Hall went home and called his doctor’s office, which placed a phone call to the location. The pharmacist declined to fill the three prescriptions, but did not state why.
“My doctor ended up having to call the prescription into the local Walgreens, where the medication was filled without question,” Hall outlined. “I transferred all of my prescriptions there so that I never again have to see the pharmacist who discriminated against me.”
He also called the CVS corporate complaint line and filed a complaint with the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy. The ACLU additionally created a petition calling upon CVS to issue a public apology, which generated over 20,000 signatures.
“No healthcare worker should rely on personal beliefs to reject decisions made by doctors and their transgender patients about medically necessary care,” Hall asserted.
On Friday, CVS issued a statement advising that the pharmacist was no longer employed by CVS, remarking that “[h]is actions did not reflect the company’s values or commitment to inclusion, non-discrimination and the delivery of outstanding patient care.”
“CVS extends its sincere apologies to Ms. Hall for her experience at our pharmacy in Fountain Hills, Arizona last spring,” it wrote. “We also apologize for not appropriately following up on Ms. Hall’s original complaint to CVS, which was due to an unintentional oversight. We pride ourselves in addressing customer concerns in a timely manner and we are taking steps to prevent this isolated occurrence from happening again.”
The company also said that it is “very proud” of its perfect score with the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index because of its policies related to “LGBTQ equality.”
“In fact, CVS pharmacists were directly involved in the development of the HRC’s resource guide for providing pharmacy care and services to LGBTQ patients,” it divulged.
In an opinion piece for AZ Central, Téa Francesca Price suggested that those who have religious objections to synthetic hormones or abortion pills should rethink a career as a pharmacist.
“Believing and practicing one’s faith is a fundamental right in this country that, naturally, should be respected and upheld. However, religious freedom should not impede the rights of others,” she wrote. “If a pharmacist objects to medications like misoprostol or synthetic hormones because they can be used in abortions and to aid transgender individuals, they should assess whether they are right to serve in that role.”
Arizona law allows pharmacists to decline to fulfill prescriptions for abortifacients or contraceptives on religious grounds, but doesn’t mention drugs related to so-called gender transitions.

I am a Canadian ex-Muslim. In Part 1 and Part 2 of this series of articles, I addressed the harsh realities of Islamic apostasy and the permissibility of rape and pedophilia in Islamic theology. In this segment, I will address the permissibility of wife-beating in Islamic theology and law.
Sadly, there are numerous passages contained within Islam’s most revered and authoritative texts (the Qur’an, hadiths and sira) that establish wife-beating to be permissible for Muslim men.
In the above-mentioned texts, the Qur’an in particular, Muslim men are instructed to beat their wives should they become disobedient. Disturbingly, Chapter 4, Verse 34 of the Qur’an teaches that Muslim men can beat those of their wives from whom they merely “fear disobedience.”
Qur’an 4:34: Men are in charge of women by what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in absence what Allah would have them guard. But those from whom you fear arrogance – advise them; forsake them in bed; and strike them. But if they obey you, seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand.
In the verse above, the Qur’an proclaims that men are superior to women, implies that women who are not “devoutly obedient” are unrighteous, and that if a Muslim husband merely “fears arrogance” from his wives, he is to first admonish them, and then lastly beat them if they do not comply.
Sadly, as mentioned above, the permissibility for Muslim men to beat their disobedient wives is also found in Muhammad, the prophet of Islam’s, Sunnah (the sayings and doings of Muhammad contained within the hadith and sira) as well as Islamic Sharia law.
The Sahih Bukhari hadith below depicts the prophet of Islam failing to admonish one of his men folk followers for beating his wife to the point where dark bruises appeared on her skin. Because of Muhammad’s supreme authoritative role in Islam, his failure to forbid wife-beating in effect gives tactical approval of this inhumane practice. Furthermore, after the women in the hadith below pleaded with Muhammad to have her husband desist from beating her, Muhammad not only failed to forbid the practice, but ordered the women to return to her husband and acquiesce to his sexual demands.
Sahih Bukhari: Volume 7, Book 72, Number 715:
Narrated ‘Ikrima:
Rifa’a divorced his wife whereupon ‘AbdurRahman bin Az-Zubair Al-Qurazi married her. ‘Aisha said that the lady (came), wearing a green veil (and complained to her (Aisha) of her husband and showed her a green spot on her skin caused by beating). It was the habit of ladies to support each other, so when Allah’s Apostle came, ‘Aisha said, “I have not seen any woman suffering as much as the believing women. Look! Her skin is greener than her clothes!” When ‘AbdurRahman heard that his wife had gone to the Prophet, he came with his two sons from another wife. She said, “By Allah! I have done no wrong to him but he is impotent and is as useless to me as this,” holding and showing the fringe of her garment, ‘Abdur-Rahman said, “By Allah, O Allah’s Apostle! She has told a lie! I am very strong and can satisfy her but she is disobedient and wants to go back to Rifa’a.” Allah’s Apostle said, to her, “If that is your intention, then know that it is unlawful for you to remarry Rifa’a unless Abdur-Rahman has had sexual intercourse with you.” Then the Prophet saw two boys with ‘Abdur-Rahman and asked (him), “Are these your sons?” On that ‘AbdurRahman said, “Yes.” The Prophet said, “You claim what you claim (i.e.. that he is impotent)? But by Allah, these boys resemble him as a crow resembles a crow.”
The hadith below depicts the prophet of Islam hitting his child bride and favourite wife, Aisha, “striking her on the chest and causing her pain.” Because the Qur’an teaches (Verse 33, Chapter 21) that Muhammad has left an “excellent example of conduct” for Muslims’ to follow, wife-beating is considered to be normative behavior for Muslim believers. In other words, the inhumane crime of wife-beating has unfortunately become sanctified in Islamic theology, and hence mandated in Islamic law.
Sahih Muslim: Book 004, Number 2172:
Muhammad b. Qais said (to the people): Should I not narrate to you (a hadith of the Holy Prophet) on my authority and on the authority of my mother? We thought that he meant the mother who had given him birth. He (Muhammad b. Qais) then reported that it was ‘A’isha who had narrated this: Should I not narrate to you about myself and about the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him)? We said: Yes. She said: When it was my turn for Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) to spend the night with me, he turned his side, put on his mantle and took off his shoes and placed them near his feet, and spread the corner of his shawl on his bed and then lay down till he thought that I had gone to sleep. He took hold of his mantle slowly and put on the shoes slowly, and opened the door and went out and then closed it lightly. I covered my head, put on my veil and tightened my waist wrapper, and then went out following his steps till he reached Baqi’. He stood there and he stood for a long time. He then lifted his hands three times, and then returned and I also returned. He hastened his steps and I also hastened my steps. He ran and I too ran. He came (to the house) and I also came (to the house). I, however, preceded him and I entered (the house), and as I lay down in the bed, he (the Holy Prophet) entered the (house), and said: Why is it, O ‘A’isha, that you are out of breath? I said: There is nothing. He said: Tell me or the Subtle and the Aware would inform me. I said: Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be ransom for you, and then I told him (the whole story). He said: Was it the darkness (of your shadow) that I saw in front of me? I said: Yes. He struck me on the chest which caused me pain, and then said: Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you? She said: Whatsoever the people conceal, Allah will know it. He said: Gabriel came to me when you saw me. He called me and he concealed it from you. I responded to his call, but I too concealed it from you (for he did not come to you), as you were not fully dressed. I thought that you had gone to sleep, and I did not like to awaken you, fearing that you may be frightened. He (Gabriel) said: Your Lord has commanded you to go to the inhabitants of Baqi’ (to those lying in the graves) and beg pardon for them. I said: Messenger of Allah, how should I pray for them (How should I beg forgiveness for them)? He said: Say, Peace be upon the inhabitants of this city (graveyard) from among the Believers and the Muslims, and may Allah have mercy on those who have gone ahead of us, and those who come later on, and we shall, God willing, join you.

Like the U.S. Catholic bishops, the Italian bishops appear not feel any obligation to support measures that would protect their people from jihad attacks. The message that the Italian bishops are sending to Catholics and other citizens of Italy is simple: drop dead. They are apparently unconcerned about the jihad attacks and spiraling crime rates that have come to Italy with the mass Muslim migrant influx.
Some reminders: all of the jihadis who murdered 130 people in Paris in November 2015 had just entered Europe as refugees. In February 2015, the Islamic State boasted it would soon flood Europe with as many as 500,000 refugees. The Lebanese Education Minister said in September 2015 that there were 20,000 jihadis among the refugees in camps in his country. On May 10, 2016, Patrick Calvar, the head of France’s DGSI internal intelligence agency, said that the Islamic State was using migrant routes through the Balkans to get jihadis into Europe.
The Italian bishops have never expressed any concern about any of this. They are completely in line with Pope Francis, who has claimed risibly that “authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence.” This has become a super-dogma in the Catholic Church: if you don’t believe that Islam is a Religion of Peace, you will be ruthlessly harassed and silenced by the hierarchy. The bishops of the Catholic Church are much more concerned that you believe that Islam is a religion of peace than that you believe in, say, the Nicene Creed. And so what possible reason could there be to be concerned about these “refugees”? It’s a religion of peace!

“Italian bishops champion ‘voiceless’ migrants,” by Isabella Haberstock de Carvalho, The Tablet, July 20, 2018:
The leadership of the Italian bishops’ conference has pledged its support for migrants arriving in the country while warning against a growing culture of xenophobia across Europe.
“We feel responsible for this army of the poor, victims of war and hunger, of deserts and of tortures,” they wrote in a statement released on Wednesday. “It is the story of suffering, of men, women and children – [a story] which prevents the closing of borders and the erection of barriers – which asks us to show solidarity, justice and peace.”
The letter, written by the Presidency of the Episcopal Conference of Italy, admits that the bishops and the Church “know the solutions are not simple” but “enlightened by the Gospel of Jesus Christ we [want to] continue to lend our voice to those who do not have one.”
The President of the Conference, Cardinal Gualtiero Bassetti, explained in a separate interview with Vatican newspaper “L’Osservatore Romano” that Europe must avoid “fear and xenophobia” and build societies based on “reunion and solidarity.”
The statement by the bishops’ leadership – which includes the president of the conference, the three vice-presidents and the secretary-general – comes days after almost 1,000 priests, theologians and charity workers signed a letter to the bishops complaining that too few church leaders were speaking out against a growing climate of racism and anti-migrant attitudes in Italy and Europe.
The letter stressed that Christianity is incompatible with hostility to migrants and that there was “an exploitation of the Christian faith, with use of religious symbols such as the crucifix, the rosary or verses from the scriptures, in a sometimes blasphemous and offensive way.”
This was a thinly veiled criticism of Matteo Salvini, Italy’s new interior minister who earlier this year held up his rosary while swearing to implement the Italian constitution “according to the teachings of the sacred gospels”, but has become renowned for his hardline stance against migrants.
One of the initiators of the letter, Fr Rocco D’Ambrosio, political philosophy professor at the Gregorian University, stressed that the authors were not trying to condemn Italian churches for not making an effort to welcome migrants but rather were asking bishops to address “a growing racism in churches and people’s attitudes”….
In their statement the leadership of the conference stressed they would “walk with our Christian communities, getting involved in a widespread hospitality that is able to increase fraternity.”…
Finally, they say that the way to save humanity from “vulgarity and barbarism” is a commitment to “preserve life” starting with “the most exposed, humiliated and trampled.”

Greg Johnson, the pastor of the PCA church that is hosting the infamous “Gay Christian” Revoice Conference, says that he’s open to a similar conference for Christians identifying as pedophiles.
Appearing on the Cross Politic podcast, Johnson was interviewed by co-hosts, Gabriel Rench, David Shannon, and Toby Sumter. The podcast, which stands for “Christ over politics,” claims to mix “the taboo formula of faith, culture, and politics to bring the clarity of the gospel into muddle America.” The three interviewed Johnson about the controversial LGBTQXYZLMNOP conference and asked friendly questions about why he would do such a thing, while drinking coffee and huffing what appears to be a Swisher Sweet and Mild cigar.
The pertinent time stamp of this interview is at the 4.30 mark, in which the host asked Johnson if he would consider hosting a similar conference designed for pedophiles. You can watch the video below.

Host: The central question that we wanted to raise with the parody site, is….if you were asked, the elders at Memorial Presbyterian, to host a conference that would ‘support, encourage and empower’ pedophile Christians – people who are attracted to children, sexually – so that they can ‘flourish while observing the historic Christian doctrine of marriage and sexuality,’ do you think you would seriously consider that request.
Johnson: That’s an interesting question. If you’re talking about people who have sexual brokenness and are committed to Christ and aren’t acting on it, maybe they’re taking chemical castration drugs, they’re being monitored and they really want to know ‘how I can walk with Jesus’ I think we’d definitely consider taking them in and having a safe place for that conversation…

There are differences between Same Sex Attraction (SSA) and pedophilia, according to Johnson, including a “power differential” between adults and kids and that even non-intimate relationships between adults and children outside the family unit are inappropriate. Other than that, Johnson seems to answer in the affirmative that it’s perfectly possible to identify as a pedophile and a Christian and that his church is willing to help them be “supported, encouraged and empowered as pedophile Christians.”

Of all people, the Roman Catholic pope calls out the heresy of the prosperity gospel movement, condemning it as a “pseudo-gospel” that is “different and dangerous.” Of course, coming from the mother whore of false gospels, the Roman Catholic Church, this seems ironic. Nonetheless, when even Catholics are able to see and point out a dangerous and heretical movement, there might be something to it.

In the latest edition of the Vatican-approved Jesuit journal La Civilta Cattolica, two of the pope’s top communication advisers wrote an article about the damage caused by the prosperity gospel, spread by American evangelicalism.
The article, “The Prosperity Gospel: Dangerous and Different” directly calls out the idea as fake theology intertwined with the American dream and Donald Trump, and specifically references American megachurch pastors and televangelists, Oral Roberts, Pat Robertson and Joel Osteen. The article mentions that the prosperity gospel has made those preachers wealthy while they spread a “pseudo-gospel” that is counter-biblical. The prosperity gospel essentially says “wealth and success as synonymous with true religious conviction, and consequently, sees ‘poverty, sickness and unhappiness’ as a lack of faith,” according to Cruxnow.com.
The authors, the Rev. Antonio Spadaro and Marcelo Figueroa, talk about how the prosperity gospel ends up being directly in contrast to social justice, salvation and the charge to love the less fortunate: “In truth, one of the serious problems that the prosperity gospel brings is its perverse effects on the poor. … In fact, it not only exasperates individualism and knocks down the sense of solidarity, but it pushes people to adopt a miracle-centered outlook because faith alone—not social or political commitment—can procure prosperity.”
“This is why there can be a lack of empathy and solidarity in these cases from [prosperity gospel] followers,” the authors wrote, referring to different crises around the world. “There can be no compassion for those who are not prosperous, for clearly they have not followed the rules and thus live in failure and are not loved by God.”
The article goes on to say that the prosperity gospel is very clearly American as it serves the U.S. economic-political model, as well as the idea of “American exceptionalism,” which has led many people to believe that the U.S. “has grown as a nation under the blessing of the providential God of the evangelical movement.”

The Southern Baptist Convention is fully “woke.” Each and every entity of the SBC is pumping out Critical Race Theory as aggressively and quickly as they can. Lifeway Christian Resources, the publishing and retail arm of the SBC is keeping pace with Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary’s “Kingdom Diversity” Affirmative Action initiative and the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission’s hard at an unapologetic promotion of Cultural Marxism. Lifeway now has launched a ministry devoted entirely to one specific ethnicity and to the exclusion of other ethnicities.
Back in the day we all agreed that was racist.
Martin Luther King may not have been a Christian (he denied the resurrection and the deity of Christ, just for starters), but he would have strongly rejected Lifeway’s approach to relevancy and pragmatism. In fact, Dr. King would have considered the notion of exclusivity-by-race to be a gross perversion. We should, as King asserted, judge people by the content of their character and not the color of their skin. Critical Race Theory, on the other hand, insists on fixating upon race and ethnicity and finding identity solely in demographic minority status. These Cultural Marxists go so far as to claim that “color-blindness” – perhaps the central tenet of Dr. King’s ideology – is inherently racist (the ERLC has made this claim repeatedly).

“Black Church Life” is the division of Lifeway designed “to serve urban and multi-cultural pastors, ministries, and lay leaders through authentic Bible studies, resources, and events that understand their unique ministry needs and point-of-view.”
Apparently, there aren’t black people in rural America. Who knew?
Of course, there are not unique ministry needs in “urban and multicultural” communities. People are sinners who need saving. That never changes, and neither does the Gospel.
They also just finished hosting a “Black Church Leadership and Family Conference” today. Pulpit & Pen has reached out to Lifeway and asked if they have a “White Church Leadership and Family Conference” planned. They have not responded by the time of publication.

In the meantime, the current consensus of the Evangelical Intelligentsia seems to be, “We can’t be racist; we intentionally divide people by ethnicity.” Southern Baptists in the segregated Jim Crow South would have been so proud.

Cameron was pontificating to Donald Trump, since it “appeared to him from US President Donald Trump’s comments that he viewed terrorism as a clash between Christianity and Islam.” This is the extent of Cameron’s strange allegation against Trump: that it “appeared to him”; he couldn’t point to anything Trump has actually said in order to substantiate his claim.
Despite what might appear to Cameron, like it or not, the global jihad is in part focused upon subjugating Judeo-Christian democracies under the hegemony of Islamic law. Islamic expansionists have declared war on Christianity, on apostates, on Israel, on Zionists, and indeed on every religion and doctrine that does not align with the Sharia.
If Cameron is looking for someone to whom to direct his advice, it should be Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who — in his quest to revive the Ottoman Empire — has in fact declared the “coming war between the cross and the crescent.” Erdogan has also meddled in Europe’s business, accusing the EU of starting “a new battle between Islam and Christianity following a ruling permitting employers to ban headscarves.”
Cameron, meanwhile, has stated:
Islam is a religion, observed peacefully and devoutly by over a billion people. Islamist extremism is a political ideology, supported by a minority.  At the furthest end are those who back terrorism to promote their ultimate goal: an entire Islamist realm, governed by an interpretation of sharia.
Vast Christian persecution, the murder of apostates, the content of the Islamic fiqh, the supremacist foundation of the Sharia, and the expansionist goals of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Muslim Brotherhood all seem to have escaped the attention of David Cameron.
Cameron’s attempts to enhance his stature by playing both sides of the political divide is worsening his already degraded reputation. While he defends Islamic doctrine, he has also warned about “swarms of migrants” and about immigration threatening the UK’s future. Cameron has already earned himself the reputation of being “a historic and disastrous failure.” He is no one to be advising Trump.

Former British prime minister David Cameron said today it was wrong to project terrorism as a clash between Christianity and Islam and called for a strategy to wipe out the extremist forces.
Cameron, the Conservative Party leader who was the prime minister of Britain from 2010 to 2016, said it appeared to him from US President Donald Trump’s comments that he viewed terrorism as a clash between Christianity and Islam.
“Listening to Trump makes me feel that it is a clash between Christianity and Islam. It is wrong,” Cameron said at an interactive session organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) here.
According to Cameron, it was, indeed, a clash within Islam – between the civilised ones who want to practice their faith peacefully and those who had taken a radicalised and perverted view of the religion.
The former British prime minister said: “Terrorism did not surface only in the Middle East. It also surfaced in Afghanistan, Pakistan and even in India and Britain”….

Blackpool Transport banned the ads for the Franklin Graham Lancashire Festival of Hope because Graham has previously condemned homosexuality, and because he has made “Islamophobic” comments such as “Islam has declared war on the world.” Truth be told, Graham understands what the global jihad is about.



Lancashire has a bad reputation when it comes to Islamic issues: the Lancashire Police won the “diversity champion of the year” award at the British Muslim Awards; a Sharia court in Lancashire handed down a sentence approving of honor killing; and Islamic leaders in Lancashire called on Muslims to boycott school meals after a ban on non-stunned halal meat in schools.

A number of people had taken to social media to claim that Franklin Graham would be preaching hate and homophobia at the event which is due to take place at the city’s Winter Gardens in September.

A number of MPs have raised concern about his visit to Blackpool fearing he will repeat previous statements condemning homosexuality and Islam.



But speaking to Premier earlier this year, Graham said: “I’m not coming to preach hate, I’m here to preach about a saviour – Jesus Christ who can make a difference in our lives if we put our faith and trust in him.”

The 223rd General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church USA met last month in St. Louis. As I reported in a previous blog, one of the overtures of particular interest to me on their agenda dealt with interfaith relations. Known as Overture 7-1, it was approved as amended by the General Assembly on Wednesday, June 20th. Among the seven directives of this overture was number 2, the final version of which reads: “Condemn all religiously inspired and motivated violence, prejudice, discrimination, and hate speech.” As I commented in the earlier blog, passage of this overture would keep the PCUSA extremely busy, especially with regard to the actions of the Islamic world. Perhaps the denomination will open up a new ministry dedicated to this new directive, appropriately named the Office of Condemnation.



It has been almost a month since the close of the General Assembly, and I have checked the official news organizations of the PCUSA to track the denomination’s obedience to this new directive. As of yet, there have been no condemnations of religiously inspired and motivated violence, violence, prejudice, discrimination, and hate speech. That does not mean, of course, that such things have not occurred around the world, just that the PCUSA is not attuned to obvious existence, especially with regard to the Muslim world. To be of help, I have cataloged a representative sample of the types of activities since June 20th which should have triggered an official PCUSA response:



Discrimination:


    

  • On 7/8 Iran sentenced a young woman to 2 years imprisonment and 18 years probation (she must keep silent or else) for protesting the mandatory nature of the hijab.
    • 

  • During Ramadan, a Sikh teenager at the Islamic University of Science and Technology in Kashmir was systematically pressured to convert to Islam and observe Ramadan; when she complained after being stabbed by two masked men, the Muslim Vice-Chancellor dismissed the harassment claims, arguing that her classmates were “only joking.”
    • 

  • On 7/6, there was a public mass flogging of “suspected prostitutes” in Indonesia’s Muslim-dominated Aceh province.
    • 

  • On 6/27, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) revealed that it was imposing the Muslim jizya tax on the Assyrian Christian town of Ankawa in the province of Irbil, simply because its inhabitants were Christians, not Muslims.
    • 

  • In the country of Kyrgyzstan, officials recently ordered a church of Muslim converts to close or face the consequences.
    • 

  • Rampant discrimination against females within Islam is reflected in the high rate of female genital mutilation (FGM) practiced (and supported by Shari’a law). The British government recently reported that there is a religiously-based act of FGM committed every two hours on average among its population — the vast majority of these mutilations take place in immigrants’ home countries where they return specifically for this reason.
    • 

  • Fulani Muslim militants have systematically targeted Christian citizens in Nigeria for ethnic cleansing. So far in 2018, some 6,000 have been massacred.
    • 




Hate Speech:


    

  • A recent internal survey of 100 mosques in “moderate” Jakarta found that 41 of them were “radical,” meaning that their typical messages included “hate speech, calls for the establishment of a caliphate, and a negative portrayal of other faiths.” If this is true in a country touted for being moderate in Islamic practice, what might that imply for more conservative Muslim countries?
    • 

  • In June, Dutch politician Geert Wilders announced that his Freedom Party will be holding a “draw Muhammad” cartoon contest soon to highlight the need for vigilance over the right of free speech. He has since received many public and private death threats. Pakistani hardline politician Khadim Hussain Rizvi, upon hearing of this, publicly declared, “If they give me the atom bomb I would remove Holland from the face of the earth before they can hold a competition of caricatures….”
    • 

  • On 7/5 the official Palestinian Authority TV station publicly lauded as heroes the mutilators and executioners of Israeli soldiers captured in 2000. Imprisoned for years now by the Israelis, these individuals are being praised as “giants of endurance.”
    • 

  • On his 79th birthday (7/17) Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei declared his intention once again to eliminate Israel from the face of the earth. “…[T]he fabricated Zionist regime will be eradicated,” he promised.
    • 




Prejudice:


    

  • In early July, Pakistan’s first Sikh police officer, Gulab Singh, was attacked in his home by Muslim officials who removed his turban, unwound his hair and then dragged him from his home by his hair, disrespecting his faith and pressuring him and his family to leave the country.
    • 

  • On July 5 it was reported that a joint declaration (produced by a British Muslim) condemning anti-Semitism and anti-Muslim hatred sought the signatures of both Muslim and Jewish leaders in France. Interestingly, all the Jewish leaders supported the declaration, but no French Muslim leader was willing to sign the document.
    • 

  • In late June, a Dutch Muslim named Hussein Jamakovic sent an email to four major news sites in Holland with the wish, “May you get cancer, you filthy, far-right cancer Jews.” This mindset while not always voiced, is not far below the surface in many Muslim circles.
    • 

  • On June 25, three Arab Muslims were sentenced in Sweden for a December 2017 firebomb attack on a synagogue in Gothenburg. The court concluded, “The crime…had a hate motive.” Some nine other masked men were involved in the attack, but could not be identified, and so escaped prosecution.
    • 

  • Five African nations (Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Nigeria and Sudan) are regularly in the news for slave-trafficking. Evidence of prejudice is found in the fact that the slaves are overwhelmingly dark-skinned, and the slave-owners are principally light-skinned Arab Muslims.
    • 




Violence:


    

  • On 6/24, over 150 villagers were massacred by Muslim Fulani members of the militant group Miyetti Allah (which I’m told means “We are grateful to Allah”).
    • 

  • On 6/26, the Taliban issued a public statement justifying violent jihad on theological grounds, countering criticisms that their observance of Islam is aberrant.
    • 

  • As of 6/27, UNHCR estimates that Boko Haram attacks within the last decade have displaced some 1.9 Nigerians internally, as well as another half million plus in neighboring states.
    • 

  • On 7/3, the bombing of a Sikh community in Jalalabad, Afghanistan left 19 dead. The Islamic State claimed responsibility and offered this warning: “Leave for India or convert to Islam.”
    • 

  • On 7/6, seven family members returning from a wedding celebration near Diyala were stopped by an Islamic State patrol and machine-gunned to death.
    • 

  • On 7/8, ten “Syrian refugees” were arrested in Berlin for attacking a man wearing a Star of David.
    • 

  • On 7/10, 50 villagers in Adamawa, Nigeria, were slain by Miyetti Allah. Likewise, the next day, members of the same terrorist group massacred 42 others in the town of Taraba.
    • 

  • On 7/13, a suicide bomber blew himself up in the midst of a political rally taking place in Mastung, Pakistan. The blast killed 149 and injured 186. Radical Muslims see man-made political parties as an affront to Allah, who has already determined the right pattern of government and its application.
    • 

  • On 7/14 in Kabul, Afghanistan, another bomber struck a rural development agency, killing 7 and injuring 15.
    • 

  • On 7/16, jihadists invade the village of Injagalane, Mali, and mow down at least 14 fleeing residents.
    • 

  • Yesterday, in Ajiram, Afghanistan, a suicide bomber sent by the Islamic State attacks a rival mosque during a funeral, killing 22 mourners and injuring another 23.
    • 




As I indicated above, all of these events by no means exhaust the list of violence, prejudice, discrimination and hate speech fomented by members of the Muslim world in the name of Islam over the last thirty days. Why do we see such a disproportionate amount of hatred and violence perpetrated by Muslims against others? The answer is that violence and hatred against unbelievers and “unfaithful Muslims” are endorsed by Allah and his messenger in Islam’s holiest revelatory sources. Though the average Muslim today rejects these commands to hatred and violence, those who are most zealous for a return to the Islam of Muhammad believe that the path of violent jihad is the way to Allah’s blessing.

SEWICKLEY HEIGHTS, Pa. — A Pennsylvania couple has filed a legal challenge after being prohibited from hosting Bible studies, worship gatherings and other Christian retreats and fundraisers on their property without a permit under the threat of fines of $500 per day.



According to a lawsuit filed by the Independence Law Center, Scott and Theresa Fetterolf have been conducting the events on their Sewickley Heights property since 2003, carrying on a practice held by the previous owner, who for decades permitted the 35-acre farm to be used for Bible studies, seminary board meetings, youth events, fundraisers for churches and other Christian gatherings.



In October, the Fetterolfs received a “Notice of Violation/Cease and Desist Order” from borough officials, asserting that the ongoing numerous activities, being in a “historical-rural residential district,” violated a zoning ordinance that states that a “place of worship or assembly” must apply for a conditional use permit.



A “place of worship or assembly” is defined under Ordinance 294 as a “building, structure, and/or lot where people regularly observe, practice, or participate in religious or spiritual services, meetings, and/or activities or that is designed (or adapted) for the assembly or collection of persons for civic, political, religious, educational, social, recreational, and amusement purposes.”



The Notice of Violation also claimed that the Bible studies can be categorized as a “special or studio school,” and that a fee-based conditional use permit would also be needed for each “class.”



A studio school is defined under Ordinance 294 as a “small scale facility, typically accommodating one group of students at a time, in no more than one instructional space offering specialized instruction, including for purposes of example but not limitation, individual and group instruction in the arts, production rehearsals, musical recitals, martial arts training, and yoga and aerobics instruction.”



The Fetterolfs do not believe that using their farm for Christian gatherings—which, in addition to Bible studies and prayer meetings, include annual picnics for a local seminary, fundraisers for the Billy Graham Library, and occasional youth group events—constitutes the creation of a “place of worship” or a “studio school,” as the property is primarily used as their personal residence and for agriculture.



“A church, synagogue, or mosque would be the prototypical ‘place of worship,’ explaining why a ‘place of worship’ is not even listed on the table of what are considered accessory uses within any of the zones within the borough,” the legal complaint argues, “since they would not by nature be anything but a primary use.”



The Fetterolfs ceased hosting Bible studies and worship on their property upon receiving the letter, and lodged an appeal, which has resulted in a number of ongoing hearings before borough officials. Both the Zoning Hearing Board and the Borough have stated that they have no power to lift the cease and desist order.



The couple has consequently taken the matter to the courts to seek legal intervention.



“The Fetterolfs wish to begin religious activities again, including Bible studies, prayer meetings for a small number of guests, a church youth group twice in the summer (40 guests), a youth leader brunch (10-12 guests), a labor day picnic for the seminary (100 guests), and a fundraiser for the Billy Graham Library in September (250 guests),” the legal challenge outlines.



It contends that while religious activities are subject to a conditional use permit, the same rules have not been applied to similar properties that have hosted “bonfires, Child Health Association meetings, Harry Potter parties, Royal wedding parties, Farm to Table events, Heart Association fundraisers, political fundraisers, birthday parties, equestrian club meetings, book club meetings, baby showers, garden club meetings, football game parties, and graduation parties. ”



“There is no compelling interest in prohibiting Bible studies, meetings where religious songs are sung, religious retreats/fellowship, and religious fundraisers, especially when secular counterparts of these activities are permitted,” the lawsuit opines.



According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Fetterolfs also conduct commercial activities on their farm, including “a yarn and wool shop, sales of cut flowers and fresh honey, a weekly produce stand, educational classes, and other programs.” The information is not cited in the lawsuit and it is not clear whether any of those activities are of issue with the Borough.

It is widely known that Saudi-funded mosques pose a threat due to their spread of Wahhabi ideology. Now Turkey, with its dreams of reviving the Ottoman Empire, is spreading its jihadist ideology through its own mosques in the U.S.:



Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s recent re-election is fueling concerns about his growing powers not just in Turkey but here in the U.S., according to experts who believe he’s determined to spread his controversial brand of Islamist-nationalistic fervor through a network of mosques and religious centers.



These mosques need to be monitored. This shouldn’t even be controversial. Catholic churches were surveilled in Italy in Mafia investigations — and not only in Italy but also in New York City.



It is long overdue that mosques be surveilled, given the likelihood that many are promoting the jihad ideology. What’s stopping the surveillance of mosques? The fear of Muslim Brotherhood-linked lobbies screaming “Islamophobia.”



“These mosques are not places of worship,” charged David L. Phillips, Director for the Program on Peace-building and Rights at Columbia University’s Institute for the Study of Human Rights. “They are centers for political mobilization functioning like madrasas, distorting Islamic [sic] and radicalizing youth.”

A woman and her partner were viciously beaten in Paris by a group of Algerian men after France’s World Cup Win for the sin of shouting “Vive la France!”



According to a report by Valeurs, the incident occurred just after midnight on Sunday night in the Saint-Eloi district of the capital.



A young couple was walking on the street when they were overtaken by a car, from which one of the occupants shouted, “vive l’Algérie!” (long live Algeria).



The couple responded by shouting “Vive la France!” – potentially referencing the country’s World Cup win earlier that day.



The occupants of the vehicle responded by exiting and immediately punching the woman in the face. The group of men then beat up her boyfriend.



The young man missed eight days of work because of the attack. Police are still searching for the culprits.

A statue of Mary at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hobbs, New Mexico, began “weeping” during mass on May 20. The church secretary and her husband first noticed an “oil-like” substance on its face and on the floor below. When priest Jose “Pepe” wiped away the substance from the statue twice “the tears still appeared.” After the phenomenon was published in newspapers, visitors began making pilgrimages to the site. Bishop Oscar Cantú said officials are investigating the phenomenon. They will start with possible natural explanations. He added, “If it is supernatural, then is it God? I visited the church on June 14, since I was in Hobbs to preach a Bible conference on church history, and talked with the church secretary. She showed me photos on her phone that she took of the weeping statue. When I asked her what she thought the “weeping” meant, she replied, “That Mary is sad and the world needs to change.” I asked if perhaps they could be tears of joy, but she replied that “Mary looked sad.” On July 14, the Diocese of Las Cruces announced that a chemical analysis of the “tears” found that it is olive oil (“Investigation into Weeping Virgin Mary Statue,”Newsmax, July 17, 2018). The Catholic Mary is a heretical figment of man’s imagination, and any actual “visitations” at Mary shrines are demonic. When “Mary” does “appear,” she invariably preaches a work’s gospel, which is cursed of God (Galatians 1:6-8). God’s Word warns of the danger of spiritual deception, and the wise will test everything by the infallible Scripture. “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. … For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. The deputy commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards recently boasted that the “Islamic army in Syria” in the Golan Heights was awaiting orders to eradicate the “evil regime” of Israel (“Top Iranian general,” The Times of Israel, Jul. 9, 2018). Hossein Salami said, “Today an international Islamic army has been formed in Syria, and the voices of the Muslims are heard near the Golan. Orders are awaited, so that … the eradication of the evil regime [Israel] will land and the life of this regime will be ended for good. The life of the Zionist regime was never in danger as it is now.” He said that “the Zionist regime constitutes a threat … to the entire Islamic world.” Bible believers know how this is going to turn out. Israel is not going to be destroyed by Muslim nations. Israel is going to be deceived by the Antichrist’s “peace” program. He will enable Israel to build the Third Temple and then occupy it and claim to be God. Several Democrats are worried far-left New York congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is damaging their party with her radical socialist platform.



Former Sen. Joe Lieberman, a Democrat-turned-independent, urged Democrats in a Wall Street Journal op-ed to vote for Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY), who suffered a stunning loss to Ocasio-Cortez in last month’s primary and so will appear on the ballot of the Working Families Party.



“Ms. Ocasio-Cortez is a proud member of the Democratic Socialists of America, whose platform, like hers, is more Socialist than Democratic,” he wrote on Tuesday.



“Her dreams of new federal spending would bankrupt the country or require very large tax increases, including on the working class,” he continued.



“Her approach foresees government ownership of many private companies, which would decimate the economy and put millions out of work.”



Several other Democrats echoed Lieberman’s sentiment, with some asserting her attacks against the more moderate faction of the Democrat Party was not a wise strategy.



“She’s carrying on and she ain’t gonna make friends that way,” Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.) told The Hill. “Joe conceded, wished her well, said he would support her…so she doesn’t know what the hell she’s talking about.”



“She’s not asking my advice,” he added, “[but] I would do it differently, rather than make enemies of people.”



If Ocasio-Cortez wants to be successful in Congress, she needs to learn to forge working relationships with fellow Democrats, even if they’re not as far left, said Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fla.).



“Meteors fizz out,” Hastings said. “What she will learn in this institution is that it’s glacial to begin with, and therefore no matter how far you rise, that’s just how far you will ultimately get your comeuppance.”



“You come up here and you’re going to be buddy-buddy with all the folks or you’re going to make them do certain things? Ain’t happening, OK?” he added.



Ocasio-Cortez further highlighted her radical far-left views this week after calling for the “occupation” of airports, border crossings, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) offices across the country.



Meanwhile, Democrats refused to vote on their own “Abolish ICE” bill this week over fears the optics would hurt their midterm chances.

USA – -(Ammoland.com)- It costs a pretty penny to earn a diploma in stupid.



The annual list price to attend Boston University — including tuition, fees, room, and board — currently rounds out to $70,000. To acquire a degree in economics from this tony institution of higher learning, an undergrad must complete courses in calculus, microeconomic and macroeconomic analysis, empirical economics, statistics and assorted electives.



Four years, 52 credits and nearly $300,000 later, the school promises that BU economics majors will depart “with a firm understanding of core microeconomic and macroeconomic theory” and the “empirical skills that are essential to applying economic reasoning in our increasingly data-driven world.”



How, then, to explain the abject economic illiteracy of meteoric media darling and democratic socialist “political rock star” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez?



The 28-year-old BU alumna graduated with an economics and international relations degree in 2011. She calls herself a “nerd” and bragged about her academic credentials, tweeting earlier this month:





“How many other House Democrats have a degree in Economics like I do? Trying to find who out here is going to be in the Gini Coefficient Appreciation Squad.”





The upstart New York congressional candidate has been hailed by pundits, newspapers and pols as “sharp,” “smart” and “extraordinary.” BU’s Associate Provost and Dean of Students Kenneth Elmore gushed that Ocasio-Cortez is “brilliant — she is boldly curious and always present. She makes me think and could always see multiple sides of any issue. … I can’t wait to see what happens when her time truly comes.”



But when the time came to put her BU economics education to work, Ocasio-Cortez flunked. On PBS last week, she asserted that “unemployment is low because everyone has two jobs.” Moreover, the erudite B.A. holder in economics posited, “unemployment is low because people are working 60, 70, 80 hours a week and can barely feed their kids.”







Egad. This nonsense needs more unpacking than a cross-country Mayflower moving truck.



The unemployment rate, which stands at a historically low 4 percent, is calculated by extrapolating and dividing the number of people out of work by the total number of individuals in the American workforce.



If you have one job, two jobs, three jobs or more, you don’t count as unemployed. Whether you are working 40 hours or 80 hours or 120 hours a week, if you’re working, that has no effect on the unemployment rate, either. The number of workers moonlighting and the number of hours they moonlight have zero, zip and nada effect on the unemployment rate.



Ocasio-Cortez’s claim that “everyone has two jobs” is more fake-o-nomics.



The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the number of Americans holding down multiple jobs is less than 5 percent and has been declining for nearly 30 years. Pew Research adds that both “in terms of raw numbers and as a share of all employed people, fewer Americans are working more than one job than in the mid-1990s.”



As for starving children, government statistics show that hunger has dropped to its lowest levels in a decade as unemployment and food inflation have declined. Federal food stamp usage has also plunged to historic lows.



Instead of hitting the books, Ocasio-Cortez appears to have spent most of her college days pounding the social justice pavement. The Boston Globe reports approvingly that she “was active at BU in organizations that empower minorities,” including a stint as president of Alianza Latina, BU’s largest Latin American student organization, and as a student ambassador at the Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground, “which aims to foster inclusiveness among students of all backgrounds.”



Ms. Diversity-ConArtista may be able to blow hot air about Gini coefficients while tweeting anti-capitalist platitudes. But the numbers don’t lie. She’s everything that’s wrong with overpriced liberal ivory towers, radical identity politics and left-wing media ideologues pining for their next savior.

“Dear Richard,” Professor Gad Saad remarked. “Arabic is my mother tongue. When properly translated, ‘Allahu Akbar’ means ‘We love all people but hold a special fondness for Jews, women, and gays.’ Don’t worry. It’s a message of love, tolerance, and liberalism.”



Gad was being sarcastic, but Newsweek’s intrepid reporter Benjamin Fearnow reports his words as if they were evidence of what he calls “the auditory affability of azaan.” Any fool could see that Gad’s statement was sarcastic, and the incongruity between the idea that “Allahu akbar” means “We love all people but hold a special fondness for Jews, women, and gays” and the many jihad mass murderers who have screamed “Allahu akbar” as they were killing people ought to have set off alarm bells in Fearnow’s “mind,” such that at very least he could have done some research or asked some questions, but Gad’s statement confirmed his Leftist biases about how Islam is benign and Muslims are always and everywhere victims, and so for today’s “journalism” that was confirmation enough.

Renowned atheist author and longtime Oxford University professor Richard Dawkins was the target of “bigotry” accusations after a tweet about the phrase “Allahu Akhbar.”



Dawkins has published several perennial books mocking all religions throughout his long career, but the English evolutionary biologist is now being labeled a “racist” by some on social media for a Monday tweet showing him outside the Winchester Cathedral in Hampshire, England. His tweet compared the pleasance of hearing Christian church bells to that of the “aggressive-sounding” Muslim phrase, called the Takbir in Arabic, meaning “God is great.” The tweet immediately drew condemnation and discussions on Islamophobia.



“You can’t sit on a park bench on a sunny day without turning it into something Islamophobic?” responded Amarnath Amarasingam, a senior research fellow at the London-based Institute for Strategic Dialogue. Another Twitter user rebuked that opinion, positing, “A phobia is an ‘irrational fear of something.’ The word Islamophobia doesn’t make sense. Islamophobia is a word created to silence criticism of Islam.”…



But Dawkins’ indiscriminate rebuke of all religions was not registered by the thousands of Twitter users who focused on the auditory affability of azaan, or muezzin-led Islamic calls to worship.

AUGUSTA, Maine — The Republican governor of Maine has vetoed a bill that would have banned what is often referred to as “conversion therapy” for minors who struggle with homosexual temptation, stating that the legislation was “overly broad,” “bad policy” and could be “interpreted as a threat to an individual’s religious beliefs.”



Gov. Paul LePage rejected L.D. 192 on July 6 following passage in both houses of the legislature last month. The bill simply stated, “A person may not advertise, offer or administer conversion therapy to individuals under 18 years of age.”



It defined conversion therapy as “any practice or treatment that seeks to change an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity, including, but not limited to, any effort to change gender expression or to eliminate or reduce sexual or romantic attractions or feelings toward individuals of the same gender.” LePage said that the wording was overbroad.







“[A]s the bill was written—‘any practice or course of treatment’–can call into question a simple conversation. This is so broad that licensed professionals would be prohibited from counseling an individual even at the individual’s own request,” he wrote in his veto statement.



“We should not prohibit professionals from providing their expertise to those who seek it for their own personal questions like, ‘How do I deal with these feelings I am experiencing?’” LePage outlined.



While any efforts to help a minor resist homosexual temptation were outlawed under the bill, it exempted counseling and treatment that would provide acceptance for those who struggle with feelings toward the same sex, or neutrality in such services. It also exempted support for those undergoing a so-called gender transition.



“The Democrats won’t let a 14-year-old start the workday before 7 a.m., but under this bill, a medical professional could not have open conversations with minors considering hormone therapy about the potential and irreversible effects of delaying puberty,” LePage lamented.



He also opined that the bill could be problematic as its regulation of the content of clinical speech may violate the First Amendment, as per the U.S. Supreme Court, and could “be interpreted as a threat to an individual’s religious beliefs.”



LePage said that there are already prohibitions in place in regard to mental or physical abuse in therapy sessions, and there is no evidence that any such practices are taking place in Maine. He stated that the bill would consequently stifle the speech of professional counselors.



“Because their standard of practice already prohibits any therapy amounting to physical or mental abuse, what L.D. 912 attempts to regulate are private, consultative conversations with a client,” he remarked.



Homosexual advocacy groups have decried LePage’s veto, asserting that “he chose petty politics over protecting kids.” Efforts to override the veto in the House failed.



In his book “Holiness,” the late Anglican preacher J.C. Ryle exhorted, “I fear we do not sufficiently realize the extreme subtlety of our soul’s disease. We are too apt to forget that temptation to sin will rarely present itself to us in its true colors, saying, ‘I am your deadly enemy, and I want to ruin you forever in Hell.’ Oh, no. Sin comes to us, like Judas, with a kiss, and like Joab, with an outstretched hand and flattering words. … Let us then watch and pray lest we fall into temptation. We may give wickedness smooth names, but we cannot alter its nature and character in the sight of God.
