LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The group known as The Satanic Temple temporarily unveiled its goat-headed Baphomet statue during a rally outside of the Arkansas capitol building on Thursday in calling for equal representation in light of the installment of a Ten Commandments monument on the grounds.
Supporters cheered as the covering was removed from the homage to Satan, which was tied to a flatbed trailer—trucked in to make a statement about pluralism and equality during the two-hour event. The eight-foot bronze image features the goat-headed figure Baphomet making the sign for the occult as he sits upon a throne with a pentagram overhead. Children flank both sides, fixing their eyes upon him.
“We do not bring Baphomet here in hopes of replacing the Ten Commandments monument. It is not the purpose of our monument or our efforts to erect this monument to impugn or silence the beliefs of others,” Satanic Temple Co-Founder Doug Messner, who goes by the name Lucien Greaves, said at the “Rally for the First Amendment.”
“Despite what you have probably heard, the truth is The Satanic Temple never asked for the Ten Commandments monument be taken down, nor do we ask that Baphomet be erected to the exclusion of any other monuments of religious significance,” he told those gathered. “In fact, from the beginning we were clear: We only want our monument on public grounds where other monuments are pre-existing.”
“We have as little interest in forcing our beliefs and symbols on you as we do in having the beliefs of others forced upon us.”
Messner contended that the event was not a protest against the Ten Commandments, nor was it meant to be seen as Satanists versus Christians, but a “rally for reason in the face of prejudice.”
“Conviction enforced by coercion is subjugation,” he stated. “It has also been said that when tyranny comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross. This is because the tyrant knows that through fear he can manipulate a people away from their principles, so long as he appropriates the proper symbols, repeats the appropriate soundbites, and claims to represent a purer form of the values he manipulates, deforms and ultimately inverts.”
Five speakers were stated to have addressed attendees, and the group reportedly filed a lawsuit following the event, as it believes that all religions should be represented or none at all. The American Civil Liberties Union, the American Humanist Association, the Freedom From Religion Foundation and the Arkansas Society of Freethinkers have already filed suit to challenge the monument’s presence.
According to local television station KATV, a smattering of Christians peacefully gathered on the public sidewalk to take a stand against the Baphomet statue. Most held signs citing Scripture, including, “You shall have no other gods before Me – Exodus 20:3,” “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people – Proverbs 14:34,” and “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life – John 3:16.”
Sen. Jason Rapert, the lawmaker who had proposed the 2015 bill for the Ten Commandments monument to be erected, said in a statement that while he upholds the right of citizens to speak their mind, he also believes the monument is entirely constitutional as is.
“The people of Arkansas have exercised their rights to place a monument on the state capitol grounds which honors the influence of the Ten Commandments as an historical and moral foundation of law,” he said. “The U.S. Supreme Court upheld this same right in 2005 for the people of Texas in Van Orden v. Perry when it held that an exact replica of the Ten Commandments monument which we have on our capitol grounds was appropriate in the state of Texas.”
“I have personally visited the Ten Commandments monuments located on the Capitol grounds of Colorado and Arizona, and I am told Missouri also has a Ten Commandments monument somewhere on their Capitol grounds,” Rapert added. “Many times I have entered the U.S. Supreme Court building in Washington, D.C. and personally taken photographs of the Ten Commandments engraved on the doors entering the court chamber and beheld Moses engraved above the chair in which the chief justice sits.”
“If the display of the Ten Commandments is appropriate for the U.S. Supreme Court and these other states, it is also appropriate for the good people of Arkansas,” he declared.
Rapert also expressed his opposition to the effort to erect an homage to Satan on the capitol grounds. Lawmakers have reportedly ignored The Satanic Temple’s request to propose legislation that would allow the Baphomet statue to be erected, just like the Ten Commandments.
“No matter what these extremists may claim, it will be a very cold day in hell before an offensive statue will be forced upon us to be permanently erected on the grounds of the Arkansas State Capitol,” he said. “Our Supreme Court ruled in the 2009 U.S. Supreme Court decision Pleasant Grove v. Summum that no group can force a government body to do such a thing.”
The first Ten Commandments monument had been toppled last year by a man who struggles with mental issues, who states that something inside told him to “destroy it tonight.” Supporters donated funds for a new decalogue display, which was erected in April.
As previously reported, while The Satanic Temple contends that it is a religious group, it also notes on its website that it is “non-theistic” and does not believe in Satan or the supernatural at all, but only views the devil as a metaphor and a “symbol of the eternal rebel.”
“[W]e do not promote a belief in a personal Satan,” its FAQ section explains. “To embrace the name Satan is to embrace rational inquiry removed from supernaturalism and archaic tradition-based superstitions.”
Some, therefore, consider the group as essentially an atheist effort to make a point about what it views as the government’s preference for Christianity.
The Satanic Temple had likewise called for equal representation when a Ten Commandments monument was installed outside of the capitol building in Oklahoma, raising funds to create a Baphomet statue to place on the grounds. It abandoned its demand for placement after the Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled that the decalogue display violated the state Constitution’s prohibition on using government property to support a religion.
It first unveiled the statue in Detroit, where attendees shouted “Hail Satan” as two shirtless men pulled off the cloth that covered the figure and then embraced and kissed each other in front of the image.
The group has likewise fought against an abortion waiting period law in Missouri, and launched its “After School Satan” effort to counter Good News Clubs in public schools. It has additionally sought to present invocations at city hall gatherings in opposition to the predominance of Christian prayers, and asked its followers to call Christian bakers and order a cake to honor Satan.

More than 300 newspapers joined the Big Cry in publishing self-righteous editorials to justify their ideological disposition and take yet another shot at The Donald: Trump is Bad. We are not “Enemies of The People.”
But after the foot-stomping tantrum, nothing much happened. Americans woke up Friday to the same great country — and the same awful media — as they did Thursday.
Globe Leads the Charge
The leader of the gang was The Boston Globe, the liberal media’s Mrs. Grundy, which opened with what logicians call the straw man: arguing against a point no one made:
A central pillar of President Trump’s politics is a sustained assault on the free press. Journalists are not classified as fellow Americans, but rather “the enemy of the people.” This relentless assault on the free press has dangerous consequences….
Replacing a free media with a state-run media has always been a first order of business for any corrupt regime taking over a country. Today in the United States we have a president who has created a mantra that members of the media who do not blatantly support the policies of the current US administration are the “enemy of the people.” This is one of the many lies that have been thrown out by this president, much like an old-time charlatan threw out “magic” dust or water on a hopeful crowd.
One might ask what the media would call the daily, relentless attack on this president if not a “sustained assault,” and why he should not fight back. But more importantly, the president has neither called for “replacing a free media with a state-run media” nor demanded that the media “blatantly support” his policies. Perhaps those are two small examples of “fake news” he decries.
Purple with rage ever since November 8, 2016 but carefully avoiding Trump’s name for some reason, The New York Times claimed that “in 2018, some of the most damaging attacks are coming from government officials,” without telling us what “damage” was done and by whom.
And another straw man:
These attacks on the press are particularly threatening to journalists in nations with a less secure rule of law and to smaller publications in the United States, already buffeted by the industry’s economic crisis. And yet the journalists at those papers continue to do the hard work of asking questions and telling the stories that you otherwise wouldn’t hear. Consider The San Luis Obispo Tribune, which wrote about the death of a jail inmate who was restrained for 46 hours. The account forced the county to change how it treats mentally ill prisoners.
What Trump has to do with a newspaper in San Luis Obispo we are not given to know, but again, neither Trump nor any of the “government officials” who supposedly “damage” the media have said journalists should refrain from pursuing pressing stories important to local voters and taxpayers, at least in the sense the Times suggests. And “government officials” have always preferred to operate in the dark. Long before Trump, they were hiding misdeeds and trying to stop reporters from finding out.
Commenters on these editorials weren’t fooled by the generic “government officials” locution; the Times meant Trump, and they knew it.
But anyway, speaking of the newspaper in San Luis Obispo, it explained that its reporters and columnists inspired local politicians to clean up a beach, an anonymous Good Samaritan to donate a kidney, and a coroner to change a wrongly decided cause of death.
“That’s not fake news from enemies of the people,” the newspaper opined. “That’s real news, and it’s coming to you from real journalists.”
Other newspapers talked about high-school football, zoning boards, and public schools, and what the coverage those newspapers provide means to a community.
Which misses the point of Thursday’s Two Minutes of Hate: to mount a full-throated attack against the president of the United States.
LA Times Declines
The Los Angeles Times declined to join the ranting mob. “This is not because we don’t believe that President Trump has been engaged in a cynical, demagogic and unfair assault on our industry,” the Times wrote.
Rather, concluded the paper:
The president himself already treats the media as a cabal — “enemies of the people,” he has called us, suggesting over and over that we’re in cahoots to do damage to the country. The idea of joining together to protest him seems almost to encourage that kind of conspiracy thinking by the president and his loyalists. Why give them ammunition to scream about “collusion”?
Trump Responds
For his part, the president answered the media using his favorite unfiltered platform, Twitter, where he allows readers to bash him quite freely.
“The Boston Globe, which was sold to the Failing New York Times for 1.3 BILLION DOLLARS (plus 800 million dollars in losses & investment), or 2.1 BILLION DOLLARS, was then sold by the Times for 1 DOLLAR,” Trump wrote. “Now the Globe is in COLLUSION with other papers on free press. PROVE IT!” Trump continued,
There is nothing that I would want more for our Country than true FREEDOM OF THE PRESS. The fact is that the Press is FREE to write and say anything it wants, but much of what it says is FAKE NEWS, pushing a political agenda or just plain trying to hurt people. HONESTY WINS!
Which is precisely the point. Americans woke up Friday morning to the same fully-functioning, anti-Trump leftist media.

LAKEWOOD, Co. — The baker in Colorado whose case involving his refusal to make a cake for a same-sex “wedding” celebration is back in court after the Colorado Civil Rights Division has approved another man’s discrimination complaint against him, this time for declining to create a pink and blue cake to celebrate a “gender transition.”
Attorneys with Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) have filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of Jack Phillips and Masterpiece Cakeshop, contending that the Division has “doubled down” in its religious hostility toward the Christian baker.
“It is now clear that Colorado will not rest until Phillips either closes Masterpiece Cakeshop or agrees to violate his religious beliefs,” he legal challenge reads. “The state’s continuing efforts to target Phillips do not just violate the Constitution; they cross the line into bad faith. This court should put a stop to Colorado’s unconstitutional bullying.”
According to the determination letter submitted to Phillips in late June, last year, a man who identifies as a woman called Masterpiece Cakeshop and stated that he wanted to place an order for a custom cake. Debi Phillips, the wife of Jack Phillips, took the call and asked the man about the desired size of the cake, the requested flavors, and the date by which it would be needed.
“The complainant responded that [he] would need the cake … to serve 6-8 people, and wanted the cake to have a blue exterior and a pink interior,” the letter reads. “The complainant asserts that [he] ‘explained that the design was a reflection of the fact that [he] transitioned from male to female and that [he] had come out as transgender on [his] birthday.’”
Realizing that the order would entail the creation of a custom cake reflecting the celebration of a so-called gender transition, Phillips advised that the business could not be of assistance. Her husband affirmed that the request could not be fulfilled.
“[T]he respondent will not make cakes that address the topic of sex changes or gender transitions,” the determination letter outlines. “He contends that he will not support a message that ‘promotes the idea that a person’s sex is anything other than an immutable God-given biological reality.’”
The document states that Phillips doesn’t make custom cakes for any expression that is objectionable.
The Colorado Civil Rights Division consequently concluded that the complainant had standing for a claim of unlawful discrimination.
“The evidence thus demonstrates that the refusal to provide service to the complainant was based on the complainant’s transgender status,” the letter reads. “A claim of discriminatory denial of full and equal enjoyment of a place of public accommodation has been established.”
However, Phillips and his attorneys state that the Division is wrong to continue to attempt to require Phillips to make cakes that convey messages that conflict with his Christian values.
“Phillips declined to create the cake with the blue and pink design because it would have celebrated messages contrary to his religious belief that sex—the status of being male or female—is given by God, is biologically determined, is not determined by perceptions or feelings, and cannot be chosen or changed,” the lawsuit reads.
It notes that the Division contrarily found that other bakeries committed no wrongdoing when a man named William Jack recently asked for the creation of a custom cake that included a design expressing objection to same-sex “marriage.”
“The Division made these determinations because the requested cakes included ‘wording and images [that the cake shop] deemed derogatory,’” the suit outlines. “The Division also made these determinations because the cake shops would not create cakes expressing the same message for any other customer.”
Similarly, Phillips won’t make custom cakes for any customer if the message is problematic. He has turned down cake orders demeaning homosexuals, and similarly refused an order celebrating a divorce. He will also not make cakes that would be racist, use profanity, promote drugs or alcohol, support abortion or euthanasia, or celebrate Satanism or Halloween.
“Phillips’s decisions on whether to create a custom cake do not focus on who the customer is, but instead depend on what the custom cake will express or celebrate,” the lawsuit explains. “Neither Phillips nor any staff member at Masterpiece Cakeshop asks customers about their protected characteristics, such as their race, faith, sexual orientation, or gender identity, because those characteristics do not matter to Phillips in deciding whether to accept a custom-cake order.”
“Phillips will not create such cakes no matter who requests them,” it notes. “Phillips believes that he would violate God’s commands if he were to create custom cakes that express messages or celebrate events in conflict with his religious beliefs.”
ADF is seeking both a declaratory judgment and an injunction preventing the Colorado Civil Rights Division from attempting to force Phillips to act contrary to his faith by using the law against him.
“Even though Jack serves all customers and simply declines to create custom cakes that express messages or celebrate events in violation of his deeply held beliefs, the government is intent on destroying him—something the Supreme Court has already told it not to do,” said Senior Vice President of U.S. Legal Division Kristen Waggoner in a statement. “Neither Jack nor any other creative professionals should be targeted by the government for living consistently with their religious beliefs.”

(Washington Post) — More than 300 Catholic priests across Pennsylvania sexually abused children over seven decades, protected by a hierarchy of church leaders who covered it up, according to a sweeping grand jury report released Tuesday.
The investigation, one of the broadest inquiries into church sex abuse in U.S. history, identified 1,000 children who were victims, but reported that there probably are thousands more.
“Priests were raping little boys and girls, and the men of God who were responsible for them not only did nothing; they hid it all. For decades,” the grand jury wrote in its report.
The 18-month investigation covered six of the state’s dioceses — Allentown, Erie, Greensburg, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh and Scranton — and follows other state grand jury reports that revealed abuse and coverups in two other dioceses. The grand jury reviewed more than 2 million documents, including from the “secret archives” — what church leaders referred to the reports of abuse they hid from public for decades, state Attorney General Josh Shapiro said at a news conference Tuesday.

Nearly two years after the election of Donald Trump as president, America is still suffering the consequences of the deterioration of our national security under former President Barack Obama.  In a 10 August, 2018 article by Mary Fanning and Alan Jones, they have provided information on Obama’s billionaire Iraqi patron Nadhmi Shakir Auchi, who is now 80 and lives in London.  Auchi is being sued for $4 billion for providing chemical weapons used in the Halabja Massacre which occurred on March 16, 1988.  On that day, Saddam Hussein’s regime used those chemical weapons to kill over 5,000 Kurdish Arabian and wounded another 10,000 in Halabja, Kurdistan. The Iraqi High Criminal Court ruled it an act of genocide in 2010. Nadhmi Auchi is connected to Barack Obama through their mutual long term association with Syrian-American and convicted felon Antoin “Tony” Rezko. Auchi wired $3.5 million in 2005 to the then financially strapped Rezko in Chicago less than a month before Obama bought his mansion with the help of Rezko.  Such a coincidence!

The State Department has declared Auchi an undesirable alien and he is barred from entering the United States.  Also, named as a defendant in the lawsuit is Lt. General Dr. Amir al Sa’adi.   This is important in connecting the dots because Lt. General Sa’adi was also named in U.S. Congressional records as a co-conspirator with Hamid Dhiya Jafar, Chairman of Crescent Petroleum and co-owner of the port and container management company “Gulftainer” in a scheme known as “Oil-For-Superweapons.”  In that scheme they plotted to sell Iraqi oil to fund Saddam Hussein’s and Hamid’s brother, Dr. Jafar Dhia Jafar’s, weapons of mass destruction (WMD) program.
Dr. Jafar is considered the father of Iraq ’s nuclear weapons program and the developer of the nuclear miniaturized “Beach Ball” warhead.  He was deeply involved in managing Iraq’s chemical weapons program as well.  To continue connecting the dots, in 2014, the Obama administration facilitated and approved a deal that awarded Gulftainer, co-owned by Hamid and his brother, Dr. Jafar, a 35-year cargo container terminal lease at Port Canaveral, Florida, known as Project Pelican, in a single day secretly negotiated deal with no security review.  The container port is 1,000 feet from the US Navy’s strategic Trident submarine base and within sight of NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.  Previously, the Obama administration had refused a request from Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA) to conduct a Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS) national security threat analysis of the Gulftainer port deal.  Hunter obviously knew of the relationship between Gulftainer and Rostec, a Russian state-owned defense industry conglomerate.  Rostec produces components of the Club-K container missile system and exports complete Club-K systems through its wholly owned subsidiary Rosoboronexport.  Club-K is referred to as a Trojan horse because it cannot be distinguished from a normal commercial container.  To complicate matters, it can be activated by satellite.  We must assume it has been sold to our potential enemies.  How many have been pre-positioned in the U.S. is an unknown.

Currently, Gulftainer is in the process of finalizing a 50-year lease for the Port of Wilmington, Delaware following the Obama administration having awarded an infrastructure grant to the ports.  How convenient!  Further, a Treasury Department official who previously oversaw Iranian sanctions for the Obama administration approved the Wilmington port deal without conducting a National Security Threat Analysis.
In an astounding statement that President Trump has no authority over national security as it relates to our ports, The News Journal of Wilmington wrote on 28 June, “Earlier this week, Thomas P. Feddo, deputy assistant Secretary of Investment Security for the Department of Treasury, informed an attorney representing the state that the Gulftainer port of Wilmington deal is not covered under the Defense Protection Act.  That act gives the President authority to review certain transactions involving foreign entities.”  It should be noted that Feddo’s job at Treasury was previously held by Amir Mir, a Pakistani-American, and a former two-time president of the youth wing of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), of which Mir’s father is a Founder Committee Member.  ISNA was named as a co-conspirator in the Hamas terrorist funding trial in Dallas in 2008.  Mir joined Treasury in 2009 and was Obama’s CFIUS staff chairman during both the Gulftainer Port Canaveral and Uranium One deals, bypassing the required National Security Threat Analysis.
Gulftainer is now trying to obtain a similar lease on the port of Jacksonville, Florida, where previously they attempted to buy their way in with a $250 million investment.  The question must be raised as to how these clearly questionable deals are consummated with known international figures of dubious character, which affect our national security.  Why would our American leadership approve such deals? 

President must take the lead in purging the Muslim Brotherhood, as well as all of Obama’s holdovers, from all our government agencies

The fact of the matter is that we have many people who have infiltrated our government agencies who have an agenda that is not in the best interest of the United States.  We know the Muslim Brotherhood has penetrated many of our national security and intelligence agencies.  We have questionable agents seeded by John Brennan when he was CIA director.  We also have seen that we had high government officials in the White House, FBI, CIA and NSA who do not support our President.  A prime example is highlighted by Diana West in her 19 April, 2018 article where she cites 17 examples of Robert Mueller’s apparent shocking obstruction efforts or failure to pursue known leads.  This includes his allegedly hiding from Congress evidence the FBI had collected when he was the Director showing that Russian officials were engaged in a bribery scheme aimed at expanding their nuclear energy business inside the U.S.  Had he provided the known information, it most certainly would have killed the Uranium One deal, and the Clinton Foundation would have likely been out more than a hundred million dollars. 
What the President must do on an expedited basis is cancel both the Port Canaveral and Wilmington deals.  Prevent Gulftainer from conducting any further port activity in the U.S.  Next, the President must take the lead in purging the Muslim Brotherhood, as well as all of Obama’s holdovers, from all our government agencies.  Time is not on our side.   Our national security must be our first priority.

The Trump administration has revoked the security clearance of former CIA Director John Brennan, according to a statement from the president.
“As the head of the Executive Branch and Commander-in-Chief, I have a unique constitutional responsibility to protect the nation’s classified information, including by controlling access to it. “Historically, former heads of intelligence and law enforcement agencies have been allowed to retain access to classified information after their government service so that they can consult with their successors regarding matters about which they may have special insights and as a professional courtesy. Neither of these justifications supports Mr. Brennan’s continued access to classified information.”
“First, at this point in my administration, any benefits that senior officials might glean from consultations from Mr. Brennan are now outweighed by the risks posed by his erratic conduct and behavior,” Sanders continued.
“Second, that conduct and behavior has tested and far exceeded the limits of any professional courtesy that may have been due to him. Mr. Brennan has a history that calls into question his objectivity and credibility.”
As one example, Trump’s statement referred to when Brennan lied in 2014 about the CIA spying on Congress.
Additionally, Sanders pointed out Brennan also lied to Congress under oath last year, claiming the intelligence community did not utilize the infamous Steele Dossier to secure FISA warrants in the surveillance of Trump campaign officials in 2016.
Sanders also said Brennan’s “unfounded and outrageous allegations” and “wild outbursts” about Trump disqualifies him from retaining access to classified information which he “leverages” on MSNBC, where he now works as a commentator.

The announcement comes the day after Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani warned Brennan may face a grand jury for “quarterbacking” the phony Russia investigation.
“The guy running it is Brennan. And he should be in front of a grand jury,” Giuliani said on Hannity.
“Unless he’s the biggest idiot intelligence agent that ever existed—although he never really did much intelligence work—it’s false. You could look at it [the dossier] and laugh at it.”

Brennan later responded on Twitter, claiming the revoking of his clearance is meant to “suppress” his “freedom of speech.”

Germany’s former finance minister Oskar Lafontaine blasted Ms Merkel in a furious tirade in protest against the visit scheduled just four weeks after the shock crash of the currency that took place last week….. Lafontaine demanded an explanation from the chancellor on the state visit, which will also see President Erdogan scoop military honours after seeking financial backing to soothe the nose-dive of the lira…..The state visit has sparked concerns the EU will top up Turkey’s financial losses and open the floodgates to talks over Turkey’s agreement with the EU illegal migration.
Erdogan is an aggressive Islamic supremacist with equally aggressive expansionist ambitions. He and his ilk manipulate many Western leaders to weaken their resistance to Islamization. Most troubling is that since 2007, “Brussels has set aside more than nine billion euros…trying to prepare Turkey to meet the bloc’s standards in crucial areas of governance,” while “failing to attach conditions to the funds, especially after President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s crackdown in the wake of a failed coup in 2016.”
Brussels has been trying to facilitate Turkey’s long-sought full membership in the EU, despite Erdogan’s record. Erdogan continues to blast the West over “Islamophobia” and to accuse the EU of a “crusade against Islam.” Erdogan has also called for an “army of Islam” to attack Israel; a vision of a revived Ottoman empire burns within his soul.
What could possibly go wrong in welcoming Erdogan into the EU?

Germany’s former finance minister Oskar Lafontaine blasted Ms Merkel in a furious tirade in protest against the visit scheduled just four weeks after the shock crash of the currency that took place last week.
Mr Lafontaine demanded an explanation from the chancellor on the state visit, which will also see President Erdogan scoop military honours after seeking financial backing to soothe the nose-dive of the lira, which dropped a further nine percent today making its total loss a dangerous 40 percent since he was re-elected.
The state visit has sparked concerns the EU will top up Turkey’s financial losses and open the floodgates to talks over Turkey’s agreement with the EU illegal migration.
Mr Lafontaine said: “The federal government must stop supplying Erdogan with weapons.

German Foreign Minister, Heiko Maas, has defended the visit, which will also see President Erdogan be greeted by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
Mr Lafontaine’s criticisms come after tensions between the US and Turkey caused the lira to plummet to a dangerous low.
Turkey was issued fresh sanctions by US President Donald Trump after the nation continued to trade with Iran, which was also sanctioned in a bid to halt its nuclear weapon programme.
The detention of American pastor Andrew Brunson over a suspected terror coup in 2016 also rocked Turkey’s financial system, triggering a 20 percent tariff on aluminium and 50 percent levy on steel…..

Recently Alex Jones and Gavin McInnes have been banned from various social media platforms, in a desperate attempt by the Left to ensure that the 2016 election results aren’t repeated in 2018. Some people say it doesn’t matter that these men were de-platformed, because they don’t like what they say, and what’s more, these are all private companies. They are indeed private companies, but they have a virtual monopoly today over the means of communication, and once they start banning people because they don’t like what they say, they’ve set a precedent that is inimical to the survival of a free society.
If only approved viewpoints can be aired, we live in a totalitarian state, not a free society, and the effects of this will reverberate in our lives in ways we cannot imagine. If you think that the banning will stop when those who are deemed “crazy” or “extremist” are all banned, you’re in for a surprise.
Yesterday, they came for me, albeit in not yet as thoroughgoing a manner as the way they went after Jones and McInnes.
A few weeks ago the great David Wood swung by my office and helped me set up a Patreon account. We made a video in which I explained that I had come into possession of what once had been a working TV studio, and that I hoped to make it into a working studio again for regular Jihad Watch videos.

This was plainly disingenuous. They had not “been emailing” with me, never explained why MasterCard objected to my account or why they had to comply with MasterCard’s wishes, and didn’t answer my request for an explanation. I don’t have a MasterCard and didn’t have one attached to my Patreon account, so MasterCard really wasn’t involved — unless it owns Patreon, which is apparently the case.
Of course, what is almost certainly going on here is that MasterCard/Patreon is deleting accounts that have been smeared by the hard-Left propaganda hate group the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), despite the fact that the SPLC has been resoundingly discredited. The SPLC defames me as a “hate group leader” and “anti-Muslim extremist.” Here, for the record, is my response to their charges, offered despite the fact that Patreon offered no chance to appeal or rebut whatever charges got me banned.

“A team of five Public Works staffers will begin patrolling the alleys around Polk Street and other hot spots in a vehicle equipped with a steam cleaner,” according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
The Poop Patrol will work to remove feces before locals have a chance to report incidents to a city 311 hotline – which has already received nearly 15,000 such complaints thus far in 2018, the Chronicle reports.
“We’re trying to be proactive,” said Mohammed Nuru, Director of Public Works. “We’re actually out there looking for it.”
San Francisco Mayor London Breed recently told local media that there is “more feces on the sidewalks than I’ve ever seen.”
Infowars has documented the on-going decay of San Francisco and other regions along the West Coast, where socialist policies have led to rampant homelessness, drug abuse, and a mounting health emergency.
A grievance filed recently with the California Department of Transportation by the International Union of Operating Engineers alleged that the health and safety of highway maintenance personnel were being jeopardized because they were forced to clean up toxic homeless encampments.
“Feces and urine and feminine products and all kinds of things on the ground; needles, syringes – you know they use buckets, five-gallon buckets for toilets, and it gets really disgusting,” said Director of Public Employees, Steve Crouch.
In Oregon, Portland Police Association President Daryl Turner issued a public statement last month blasting city officials for allowing the city to “become a cesspool.”
“Livability that once made Portland a unique and vibrant city is now replaced with human feces in businesses doorways, in our parks, and on our streets,” Turner wrote.

The Communist Chinese dictatorship is reportedly holding over a million Muslim Uighurs (also spelled Uyghurs) in “counter-extremism centers” in the Western province of Xinjiang, according to evidence presented at a United Nations committee hearing in Geneva last week. Some two to three million victims are said to be in cultural and political “re-education” camps, too. One UN expert said the regime had turned the vast Xinjiang region into what resembles a “massive internment camp” where people have no rights. Revelations surrounding the reported mass internment of ethnic and religious minorities coincided with a broader initiative by Beijing to suppress all religions that are not controlled by the Communist Party of China, ranging from Christians and Muslims to Falun Gong practitioners. Top U.S. officials are also sounding the alarm.  
The explosive accusations, which made headlines around the world, came on August 10 during the opening session on China of the UN “Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination” (CERD). “We are deeply concerned at the many numerous and credible reports that we have received that in the name of combating religious extremism and maintaining social stability (China) has changed the Uighur autonomous region into something that resembles a massive internment camp that is shrouded in secrecy, a sort of ‘no-rights zone,’” said vice chair of the UN committee Gay McDougall, adding that most of those in detention had not been convicted or even charged with a crime.
McDougall, a far-left American activist, noted that Uighurs and other Muslims in China were being treated as “enemies of the state” due only to their ethno-religious identity. She also pointed to evidence that the regime was persecuting people merely for using Muslim greetings, wearing head coverings, having long beards, or possessing halal food, according to media reports. And finally, she cited reports that Beijing has been stealing DNA from millions of people in the region and compiling a massive database, combined with an unprecedented level of police-state surveillance. Even relatives of journalists who have reported on the mass incarceration in Xinjiang have been rounded up by the regime, multiple sources said.
In the re-education camps, former detainees told the Associated Press that they were forced to denounce their faith and declare their submission to the Communist Party instead. “Hour upon hour, day upon day, Omir Bekali and other detainees in far western China’s new indoctrination camps had to disavow their Islamic beliefs, criticize themselves and their loved ones and give thanks to the ruling Communist Party,” the AP reported in May. When the man refused, he was put in solitary confinement, deprived of food, forced to stand at a wall for hours on end, and more, until he was finally ready to commit suicide after just a few weeks.  
Another UN panel member, Yemhelhe Mint Mohamed, blasted what she described as the “arbitrary and mass detention of almost one million Uighurs.” Speaking to the 50-member delegation from the Communist Chinese dictatorship present at the meeting, Mohamed also asked about broader religious freedom issues. “What is the level of religious freedom available now to Uighurs in China?” she asked. “What legal protection exists for them to practice their religion?” Of course, the answer is none.
Outside of China, Uighur activists were relieved to see the issue getting attention. “I’m extremely pleased with the UN CERD Committee for raising these important issues with the Chinese delegation,” said Dolkun Isa, the president of the Munich-based World Uyghur Congress (WUC). “This has given us more faith in the work of the committee … and I am glad to see that the extrajudicial detention of some 1 million Uyghurs has received the attention of the UN.” Isa noted that the Chinese regime would “play word games” and lie in response. “It is my hope that the U.N. CERD Committee members will not be fooled by these maneuvers and instead get to the bottom of these issues with real answers and solutions,” he added.
The U.S. government expressed serious concerns, too. In a social-media post about the hearing and the accusations that millions were being “re-educated” in communist camps, the U.S. government mission to the UN called for it to stop. “We remain deeply troubled by reports of an ongoing crackdown on Uighurs and other Muslims in China,” the U.S. mission said on Twitter. “We call on China to end their counterproductive policies and free all of those who have been arbitrarily detained.”
In Washington, prominent lawmakers were also speaking out. In a letter to U.S. Ambassador to China Terry Branstad, Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Representative Chris Smith (R-N.J.), the co-chairs of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China, asked for action. “Uyghurs and other ethnic minorities in the XUAR [Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] have been subjected to arbitrary arrest, egregious restrictions on religious practice and culture, and a digitized surveillance system so pervasive that every aspect of daily life is monitored,” they said. “There are credible media reports that as many as 500,000 to a million people are or have been detained in what are being called ‘political education centers,’ the largest mass incarceration of a minority population in the world today.”
The two lawmakers also raised concerns about the regime’s arrest of the family members of reporters working for the U.S. government-backed Radio Free Asia. “These detentions serve to intimidate the families of U.S. government employees and undermine some of the most effective reporting from the XUAR, a region which is increasingly off limits to international reporters, members of civil society and diplomats,” they wrote. “If there is no immediate resolution of these cases, we ask that the State Department consider denying visas to executives or administrative staff of Chinese-run state media operating in the United States.”
As usual, Communist Chinese functionaries denied the reports, saying that there is “no such thing as re-education centers” in Xinjiang. In response, Chinese Human Rights Defenders posted photos on Twitter showing one of the camps. “What about ‘de-extremism education reform center’ or ‘correction concentration education base’ as shown in this photo?” asked the group. “Evidences of mass incarceration are undeniable.” The group also posted a photo of a seemingly empty village, saying the “residents have been disappeared” and urged investigators to go see for themselves.
Virtually every Chinese delegate parroted variations of the same script. “The argument that one million Uighurs are detained in re-education centers is completely untrue,” said Ma Youqing, one of 50 high-level communist officials to respond to the committee. “There is neither deliberate targeting at a particular ethnic minority, nor suppressing or restricting the rights or the freedom of religious belief of the Uighur people.”
Another Communist Chinese delegate, Hu Lianhe, also denied that there were re-education centers or that anyone’s religious freedom was being violated. But right after that, he admitted that “those who are deceived by religious extremism … shall be assisted through resettlement and education.” In other words, if the regime decides your religious views are extreme — and according to the regime, not being a communist is extreme — then you can be subject to forced relocation and indoctrination at gunpoint.
Communist Party of China mouthpiece Global Times put out a cryptic editorial blasting the “West” for its concerns. “There is no doubt that the current peace and stability in Xinjiang is partly due to the high intensity of regulations. Police and security posts can be seen everywhere in Xinjiang,” the editorial said, praising the “strong ruling power of the Communist Party of China” for allegedly maintaining stability. “Xinjiang is at a special stage of development where there is no room for destructive Western public opinions. Peace and stability must come above all else. With this as the goal, all measures can be tried.”
Of course, UN “experts” are notoriously unreliable. Many of them are actual Socialists or even Marxists. And the UN CERD is outrageous, even by UN standards. For instance, last year, the UN committee issued an “early warning” against America. As part of that, it declared that the U.S. government must ban certain speech, regardless of the First Amendment or the inalienable right to free speech, to be in compliance with the UN “International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.” McDougall, the UN expert who first raised the concerns, also has baggage. Among her many troubling affiliations are ties to the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS), an outfit that was exposed as a Soviet KGB front by Czech intelligence defector Ladislav Bittman and others.
Ironically, just last year, the UN “human rights” apparatus came under fire for aiding and abetting the Chinese regime’s efforts to silence anyone who would expose its crimes. As The New American documented at the time, the UN handed to Beijing the names of activists who were set to expose the regime’s crimes at a UN review of China’s record. One of the dissidents in question ultimately died in detention. At least several others whose identities were provided to the regime by UN officials were detained ahead of their trips to Geneva. And then, making matters worse, the UN “human rights” leadership retaliated against the UN whistleblower who exposed and stopped the whole sordid affair.
While the Communist Chinese dictatorship engages in barbaric oppression, including forced abortions and organ harvesting from dissidents, it has also quietly seized control over huge swaths of the architecture of “global governance.” Chinese Communist agents now run multiple UN agencies, and even INTERPOL, the self-styled global “law-enforcement” body. And already, the brutal dictatorship is abusing this power to advance totalitarianism at home and abroad as it pursues what it calls a “New World Order.” The regime is also building up a powerful “China Lobby” in Washington.
But unfortunately for the victims of the savage dictatorship, which has murdered more people than any other in history, relying on the UN to protect one’s “human rights” is tantamount to hoping a fox will protect the rights of the hens in the hen house. Rather than waiting for the dictator-dominated UN, Americans should demand that Congress quit enabling and propping up Beijing via suicidal trade policies and other insanity. The globalist establishment, including the Council on Foreign Relations, has been building up the regime in China for decades. It is time for Americans aiding and abetting Beijing’s savagery to be held accountable.

Shopify policy change to ban gun, accessory sales, refuses to answer retailer questions

APOPKA, Fla. –-(Ammoland.com)- A change in policy announced Monday night by Shopify, an e-commerce platform used by more than 600,000 merchants to conduct online sales, will essentially shut down the sale of guns, gun parts and accessories over the internet by retailers who use Shopify.



Spike’s Tactical, a Florida-based gun manufacturer, has built their entire website and online sales portal exclusively using the Shopify platform and conducts millions of dollars in sales through Shopify each year.





“This decision will have significant ramifications to our business and should concern every online retailer and Second Amendment supporter,” said Cole Leleux, general manager of Spike’s Tactical.





Some of the new amended rules in Shopify’s Acceptable Use Policy now include banning the sale of semi-automatic firearms that have an ability to accept a detachable magazine and are capable of accepting more than 10 rounds. Additionally, unfinished lower receivers are also prohibited, according to the new rules. Most of Spike’s Tactical’ s products include AR-15 parts and full rifles, which would fall under those new restrictions.



One of the things that makes this more challenging for businesses like Spike’s Tactical, is that Shopify’s platform is entirely proprietary, meaning the information stored on their platform cannot be easily transferred to another online platform.





“We have invested more than $100,000 in the development of our Shopify store, which will disappear once these policies go into effect,” said Leleux.





As for when these new policies will go into effect, that remains a mystery. When representatives from Spike’s Tactical reached out to Shopify to try to learn more, Shopify refused to answer any questions and directed Spike’s Tactical team members to the Shopify legal department, which at the time of this news release, has yet to respond.





Ironically, when challenged by left-leaning critics about selling Breitbart products in 2017, Shopify CEO Tobias Lütke said, “We don’t like Breitbart, but products are speech and we are pro free speech. This means protecting the right of organizations to use our platform even if they are unpopular or if we disagree with their premise, as long as they are within the law.”





It now seems that Shopify has reversed course on their previous belief, as our products are not only legal, but also used by many law enforcement agencies, Leleux said.



Another gun company, which will also feel the pain of Shopify’s recent decision is Rare Breed Firearms. Rare Breed announced the launch of their new Spartan lower receiver last week and the product is also sold online exclusively through Shopify.





“We have spent the last three years developing the Rare Breed brand and more than $40,000 developing our Shopify site,” said Lawrence DeMonico, president of Rare Breed Firearms, an Austin, Texas based firearms company. “Depending on how this policy is rolled out, this is a move that could put companies like ours out of business, and we will undoubtedly be looking to pursue legal options.”





Any other gun manufacturers or retailers who are also experiencing issues related to this new policy are encouraged to contact Spike’s Tactical, as they are looking at legal options to potentially file a class action lawsuit.

MEDIA COLLUSION: 100 PLUS NEWSPAPERS AGREE TO SIMULTANEOUSLY RUN

“The dirty war on the free press must end,” writes CNN. Others would say that the freedom-driven war on the dirty press must continue. And this assertion may be buttressed by the media’s latest move: collusion in the form of a coordinated press attack on President Trump involving more than 100 newspapers. As CNN reported Saturday:
The Boston Globe has been contacting newspaper editorial boards and proposing a “coordinated response” to President Trump’s escalating “enemy of the people” rhetoric.
“We propose to publish an editorial on August 16 on the dangers of the administration’s assault on the press and ask others to commit to publishing their own editorials on the same date,” The Globe said in its pitch to fellow papers.
The effort began just a few days ago.
As of Saturday, “we have more than 100 publications signed up, and I expect that number to grow in the coming days,” Marjorie Pritchard, the Globe’s deputy editorial page editor, told CNN.
The American Society of News Editors, the New England Newspaper and Press Association and other groups have helped her spread the word.
The irony here, unsurprising with the mainstream media’s world being one of both deception and delusion, is that they act as if — and generally believe that — Trump drew first blood. But who gave the president’s first 60 days in office only five percent positive coverage, when Obama’s figure was 42 percent and even G.W. Bush’s was 22 percent (according to Pew Research Center. Video below)?
By the way, the Left will justify this by saying Trump did more negative things; even if you believe this, however, how should you expect your target to react? Should Trump just bend over and say, “Thank you, sir, may I have another?”? It’s human nature to strike back when struck.
Yet the reality is that, love him or hate him, the issue isn’t Trump. It isn’t that he’s calling the media “the enemy of the people.” It’s that the media are acting as that enemy — something I’ve been saying for years.
The media are the people’s conduit of information, and how can Americans make correct decisions regarding what politicians and policies to support if they’re peddled misinformation? As with a computer, it’s garbage in, garbage out.
And how biased are these toxic-waste mind dumpers? As I reported in 2016, “In his 2011 book Left Turn, UCLA political science professor Tim Groseclose quotes ‘a well-known poll in which Washington correspondents declared that they vote Democratic 93 percent to 7 percent,’ writes U.S. News.”
The site continues:
As a result, he says, most reporters write with a liberal filter. “Using objective, social-scientific methods, the filtering prevents us from seeing the world as it actually is. Instead, we see only a distorted version of it. It is as if we see the world through a glass — a glass that magnifies the facts that liberals want us to see and shrinks the facts that conservatives want us to see.”
He adds: “That bias makes us more liberal, which makes us less able to detect the bias, which allows the media to get away with more bias, which makes us even more liberal.”
And this vicious circle sways elections. I continued, “As Groseclose also wrote, ‘Media bias aids Democratic candidates by about 8 to 10 percentage points in a typical election. I find, for instance, that if media bias didn’t exist, John McCain would have defeated Barack Obama 56 percent to 42 percent [in 2008], instead of losing 53-46.’”
Examples of this bias are legion. I provided just a handful in 2016:
• In 2004, famed newsman Dan Rather’s career was ended when it was discovered that he had peddled forged documents purporting to show that President George W. Bush had shirked his Texas Air National Guard duties in the 1960s and 1970s. 
• In 2010, there was the JournoList Scandal, involving an online meeting place in which journalists would conspire to slant the news; this proved that not all media bias was unintentional.  
• The media happily reported the claim that WWII-era pontiff Pius XII was “Hitler’s Pope.” Yet they just as happily ignored an even bigger story: the 2007 revelation that the allegation was a malicious fabrication promoted by a Soviet disinformation campaign.
• While the media can’t let go of the Catholic Church sex scandal, they ignore the child sex abuse in government schools, a phenomenon a federally funded study found was 100 times the magnitude of the church scandal. In fact, the researchers evaluated a certain time period and discovered that California’s 61 biggest newspapers ran 2,000 stories about the church scandal but only four about the school scandal.
• The media gratuitously report stories of police shootings of black criminal suspects, despite these occurrences having declined 75 percent during the last few decades. Yet while the police not only shoot more whites but, according to studies, are actually more likely to do so, such events are never widely publicized. This lends the illusion that blacks are under assault, creates racial unrest, and has led to the “retaliatory” murder of cops.
• In 2012, NBC heavily doctored George Zimmerman’s 911 call in a manner many describe as malicious, as it did a cut-and-paste job that made him appear bigoted.
Three more examples: Complaining that journalists have dispensed with objectivity in their zeal to destroy Trump (though this presupposes they had objectivity to dispense with), the Los Angeles Times’ Justin Raimondo pointed out in 2016 that the “DNC emails, published by Wikileaks, reveal[ed] a stunning level of collaboration between important media outlets and the Democrats.”
Then, last year, Counterfeit News Network (CNN) figures were caught on hidden camera admitting that while they knew the Trump/Russia collusion story was nonsense, they were pushing it anywayfor ratings (and, no doubt, ideological reasons).
As for current events, the mainstream media are largely refusing to report that Antifa thugs not only became violent Sunday at their D.C. protest, but also carried a banner stating, “It takes a bullet to bash a fash.” At the same time, the media have provided disproportionate coverage for the D.C. “Alt-Right” rally that attracted fewer than 50 people.
In fact, this attempt to obscure the true threat is so serious that NBC refused to report on a Charlottesville attack by Antifa — on its own reporter and news crew.
The good news for President Trump, and America, is that the public increasingly views the Fourth Estate as what it is: a fifth column. A 2017 poll showed that only about 20 percent of the citizenry trusts the media — a figure that’s dwarfed by Trump’s approval rating of 48 percent.

The Evolution of a Police State Lockdown

It has become way too easy to lockdown this nation.
Five years ago, the city of Boston was locked down while police carried out a military-style manhunt for suspects in the 2013 Boston Marathon explosion.
Four years ago, the city of Ferguson, Missouri, was locked down, with government officials deploying a massive SWAT team, an armored personnel carrier, men in camouflage pointing heavy artillery at the crowd, smoke bombs and tear gas to quell citizen unrest over a police shooting of a young, unarmed black man.
Three years ago, the city of Baltimore was put under a military-enforced lockdown after civil unrest over police brutality erupted into rioting. More than 1,500 national guard troops were deployed while residents were ordered to stay inside their homes and put under a 10 pm curfew.
This year, it was my hometown of Charlottesville, Va., population 50,000, that was locked down while government officials declared a state of emergency and enacted heightened security measures tantamount to martial law, despite the absence of any publicized information about credible threats to public safety.

One year after white supremacists paraded through the streets, the face of downtown Charlottesville was transformed once again – this time with checkpoints, military-style camps for National Guard, and state police on every corner. When residents woke up Saturday, all entrances to the downtown mall were blocked off, apart from two checkpoints, where police looked through people’s bags for lighters, knives or any other weapons. Up above, standing atop a building site, two national guard members photographed the individuals coming in and out… A National Guard encampment was set up in McGuffey Park, between the children’s playground and the basketball court, where about 20 military police officers in camouflage were snoozing in the shade of some trees. A similar encampment was set up a few blocks away.

Downtown Charlottesville felt like the green zone of a war-torn city Saturday. More than a thousand local and state police officers barricaded 10 blocks of the city’s popular pedestrian district, the Downtown Mall, to prepare for the one-year anniversary of the white supremacist rally last year that left dozens injured and one dead. To enter, people had to submit to bag checks and searches at one of two checkpoints… Preparations aside, unlike last year, no white supremacist groups had said they were going to visit the city, and, by week’s end, none had. Instead, it was a normal day on the mall except for the heavy security, a military helicopter constantly circling overhead, and hundreds of police officers milling around.
Make no mistake, this was a militarized exercise in intimidation, and it worked only too well.
For the most part, the residents of this city—once home to Thomas Jefferson, the nation’s third president, author of the Declaration of Independence, and champion of the Bill of Rights—welcomed the city-wide lockdown, the invasion of their privacy, and the dismantling of every constitutional right intended to serve as a bulwark against government abuses.
Yet for those like myself who have studied emerging police states, the sight of any American city placed under martial law—its citizens essentially under house arrest (officials used the Orwellian phrase “shelter in place” in Boston to describe the mandatory lockdown), military-style helicopters equipped with thermal imaging devices buzzing the skies, tanks and armored vehicles on the streets, and snipers perched on rooftops, while thousands of black-garbed police swarmed the streets and SWAT teams carried out house-to-house searches—leaves us in a growing state of unease.
Watching the events of the lockdown unfold, I couldn’t help but think of Nazi Field Marshal Hermann Goering’s remarks during the Nuremberg trials. As Goering noted:
It is always a simple matter to drag people along whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.
As the events in Charlottesville have made clear, it does indeed work the same in every country.
Whatever the threat to so-called security—whether it’s civil unrest, school shootings, or alleged acts of terrorism—government officials will capitalize on the nation’s heightened emotions, confusion and fear as a means of extending the reach of the police state.
These troubling developments are the outward manifestations of an inner, philosophical shift underway in how the government views not only the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, but “we the people,” as well.
What this reflects is a move away from a government bound by the rule of law to one that seeks total control through the imposition of its own self-serving laws on the populace.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t take much for the American people to march in lockstep with the government’s dictates, even if it means submitting to martial law, having their homes searched, and being stripped of one’s constitutional rights at a moment’s notice.
In Charlottesville, most of the community fell in line, except for one gun-toting, disabled, 71-year-old war veteran who was arrested for purchasing cans of Arizona iced tea, a can of bug spray and razor blades, all of which were on the City’s list of temporarily prohibited, potentially “dangerous” items. Incidentally, the veteran’s guns (not among the list of prohibited items) caused no alarm.
Talk about draconian.
This continual undermining of the rules that protect civil liberties will inevitably have far-reaching consequences on a populace that not only remains ignorant about their rights but is inclined to sacrifice their liberties for phantom promises of safety.
Be warned: these lockdowns are just a precursor to full-blown martial law.
The powers-that-be want us acclimated to the sights and sounds of a city-wide lockdown with tanks in the streets, military encampments in cities, Blackhawk helicopters and armed drones patrolling overhead.
They want us to accept the fact that in the American police state, we are all potentially guilty, all potential criminals, all suspects waiting to be accused of a crime.
They want us to be meek and submissive.
They want us to report on each other.
They want us to be grateful to the standing armies for their so-called protection.
They want us to self-censor our speech, self-limit our movements, and police ourselves.
As Glenn Greenwald notes in The Intercept:
“Americans are now so accustomed to seeing police officers decked in camouflage and Robocop-style costumes, riding in armored vehicles and carrying automatic weapons first introduced during the U.S. occupation of Baghdad, that it has become normalized… The dangers of domestic militarization are both numerous and manifest. To begin with… it degrades the mentality of police forces in virtually every negative way and subjects their targeted communities to rampant brutality and unaccountable abuse… Police militarization also poses grave and direct dangers to basic political liberties, including rights of free speech, press and assembly.”
Make no mistake: these are the hallmarks of a military occupation.
Militarized police. Riot squads. Camouflage gear. Black uniforms. Armored vehicles. Mass arrests. Pepper spray. Tear gas. Batons. Strip searches. Surveillance cameras. Kevlar vests. Drones. Lethal weapons. Less-than-lethal weapons unleashed with deadly force. Rubber bullets. Water cannons. Stun grenades. Arrests of journalists. Crowd control tactics. Intimidation tactics. Brutality.
We are already under martial law, held at gunpoint by a standing army.
Take a look at the pictures from Charlottesville, from Baltimore, from Ferguson and from Boston, and then try to persuade yourself that this is what freedom in America is supposed to look like.
A standing army—something that propelled the early colonists into revolution—strips the American people of any vestige of freedom.
It was for this reason that those who established America vested control of the military in a civilian government, with a civilian commander-in-chief. They did not want a military government, ruled by force. Rather, they opted for a republic bound by the rule of law: the U.S. Constitution.
Unfortunately, with the Constitution under constant attack, the military’s power, influence and authority have grown dramatically. Even the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, which makes it a crime for the government to use the military to carry out arrests, searches, seizure of evidence and other activities normally handled by a civilian police force, was greatly weakened by both Barack Obama and George W. Bush, who ushered in exemptions allowing troops to deploy domestically and arrest civilians in the wake of alleged terrorist acts.
Now we find ourselves struggling to retain some semblance of freedom in the face of police and law enforcement agencies that look and act like the military and have just as little regard for the Fourth Amendment, laws such as the NDAA that allow the military to arrest and indefinitely detain American citizens, and military drills that acclimate the American people to the sight of armored tanks in the streets, military encampments in cities, and combat aircraft patrolling overhead.
We’ve already gone too far down this road.
Add these lockdowns onto the list of other troubling developments that have taken place over the past 30 years or more, and the picture grows even more troubling: the expansion of the military industrial complex and its influence in Washington DC, the rampant surveillance, the corporate-funded elections and revolving door between lobbyists and elected officials, the militarized police, the loss of our freedoms, the injustice of the courts, the privatized prisons, the school lockdowns, the roadside strip searches, the military drills on domestic soil, the fusion centers and the simultaneous fusing of every branch of law enforcement (federal, state and local), the stockpiling of ammunition by various government agencies, the active shooter drills that are indistinguishable from actual crises, the economy flirting with near collapse, etc.
Suddenly, the overall picture seems that much more sinister.
The lesson for the rest of us is this: once a free people allows the government to make inroads into their freedoms or uses those same freedoms as bargaining chips for security, it quickly becomes a slippery slope to outright tyranny. And it doesn’t really matter whether it’s a Democrat or a Republican at the helm, because the bureaucratic mindset on both sides of the aisle now seems to embody the same philosophy of authoritarian government.
Remember, a police state does not come about overnight.
It starts small, perhaps with a revenue-generating red light camera at an intersection.
When that is implemented without opposition, perhaps next will be surveillance cameras on public streets. License plate readers on police cruisers. More police officers on the beat. Free military equipment from the federal government. Free speech zones and zero tolerance policies and curfews. SWAT team raids. Drones flying overhead. City-wide lockdowns.
No matter how it starts, however, it always ends the same.
Remember, it’s a slippery slope from a questionable infringement justified in the name of safety to all-out tyranny.
These are no longer warning signs of a steadily encroaching police state.

NEW YORK — Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former president Bill Clinton and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, claimed during a “Rise Up for Roe” abortion “rights” event on Saturday that Roe v. Wade has helped add over three trillion to the U.S. economy in that it has allowed women to enter the workforce and make a living instead of focusing on raising children.
“Whether you kind of fundamentally care about reproductive rights and access, because again, these are not the same thing—if you care about social justice or economic justice, agency—you have to care about this,” she said, according to video footage of the New York event, shared by the Media Research Center. “It is not a disconnected fact … that American women entering the labor force from 1970 to 2009 added three and a half trillion dollars to our economy.”
“The net, new entrance of women—that is not disconnected from the fact that Roe became the law of the land in January of 1973,” Clinton continued. “So, I think, whatever it is that people say they care about, I think that you can connect to this issue. Of course, I would hope that they would care about our equal rights and dignity to make our own choices, but if that is not sufficiently persuasive, hopefully some of these other arguments that you’re hearing expressed so beautifully will be.”
She reiterated her point on Twitter on Wednesday after receiving backlash for her comments, while also asserting that she wasn’t saying that aborting children boost the economy.
“To repeat: reproductive rights have always been economic rights. A recent study found denying women—often already mothers—a wanted abortion results in years of less employment & more family poverty,” Clinton stated.
As previously reported, Clinton’s mother has made similar remarks, speaking at a Planned Parenthood event in 2016.
“Roe v. Wade guaranteed the right to safe, legal abortion, so young women were no longer dying in emergency rooms and back alleys from botched abortions,” she said. “America’s maternal mortality rate dropped dramatically, and it turns out being able to plan their families not only saved women’s lives, it also transformed them because it meant that women were able to get education, build careers, enter new fields and rise as far as their talent and hard work would take them.”
She praised “[a]ll the opportunities that follow when women are able to stay healthy and choose whether and when to become mothers,” adding that birth control has likewise helped the economy because more women can work if they are not raising children.
“Today, the percentage of women who finish college is six times what it was before birth control was legal,” Clinton stated. “Women represent half of all college graduates in America and nearly half our labor force, and our whole economy then is better off.”
“The movement of women into the workforce, a paid workforce, over the past 40 years was responsible for more than $3.5 trillion in growth in our economy,” she said.
The argument is not new, however, as Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, a Reagan appointee, made similar statements about how abortion has kept women in the workforce in the 1992 ruling of Planned Parenthood v. Casey.
“For two decades of economic and social developments, people have organized intimate relationships and made choices that define their views of themselves and their places in society, in reliance on the availability of abortion in the event that contraception should fail,” O’Connor wrote on behalf of the court.
“The ability of women to participate equally in the economic and social life of the nation has been facilitated by their ability to control their reproductive lives,” she said.
However, in his article “The Calling of the Young Women to Marry and to Bear Children,”Den Hartog notes that the feminist mindset is far from the biblical exhortation in 1 Timothy 5:14 that young women are to “marry, bear children [and] guide the house.”
“[T]he role of mother in the home is greatly despised in our society. The career woman is glamorized. She is the liberated woman. She is the one who has insisted on her rights which, according to the spirit of our age, all women must by all means do. She has made a name for herself in the world,” he wrote.
“On the other hand, [according to the world,] the mother who stays home to give birth to and raise a family is an ignoramus. She is counted as a nothing. Her life is boring. She is wasting her time. She has submitted herself to some form of evil bondage that hopefully our world is now finally ridding itself of,” Hartog lamented.
He said that women who selflessly give of themselves to invest their lives in their children, to lovingly train them in the ways of the Lord, should be encouraged and applauded.
“With all these ideas bombarding the Christian woman today, she needs to know very clearly what her calling is before the Lord. She needs to be encouraged in our day. The godly woman who stays home to bear children and to sacrifice herself to raise them in the fear and admonition of the Lord needs to be praised,” Hartog outlined. “She needs to be told over and over of the great honor of her position and the great significance of her calling in the Church. ‘Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.’”

RELIGIOUS STUDIES PROFESSOR CLAIMS OPPOSING ABORTION CONFLICTS WITH JESUS’ TEACHING ON “ABUNDANT LIFE”

ELON, N.C. — A religious studies professor at Elon University in North Carolina has published a column in which she claims that opposing abortion in cases where the woman does not wish to be a mother at the time “flies in the face of Jesus’ teaching that He came to bring abundant life” as the child might not have a good family or home life, and that women should be trusted in their decision whether or not they can commit themselves to be a parent.
In her article “Trusting Women to Make Abortion Decisions Is a Christian Norm,”Rebecca Todd Peters asserts that many Christians aren’t against abortion altogether as they believe in the exceptions of prenatal health, rape, incest, and the health of the mother (PRIM).
She says that in doing so, by showing acceptance for abortion in some cases but not all, Christians have now forced women to justify their purpose for obtaining an abortion.
“Women who have PRIM abortions are portrayed as tragic, not only deserving of access to abortion services but also equally deserving of public sympathy. Women who have abortions for other reasons are stigmatized as morally unfit and labeled as selfish, cruel, and irresponsible. In short, they are the damned,” Todd Peters writes.
She notes that as very few abortions are due to rape, incest, and the life of the mother, and that the overwhelming majority of abortions are simply because the woman does not wish to be a mother at the time. Todd Peters then contends that it is wrong for Christians to reject those abortions as it sends the message that “when women get pregnant, we expect them to have babies.”
“As my deeply Christian mother taught me, ‘You shouldn’t have a baby because you are pregnant. You should have a baby because you want to be a mother, because you want to have a family,’” she writes.
Todd Peters contends that choosing to raise a child is a moral commitment, and that women should have healthy families, not just give birth. It is for this reason that she claims that rejecting abortion in cases where the mother simply doesn’t want the baby contradicts Christ’s purpose to give men abundant life.
In other words, Todd Peters believes that the child might not have a good life as his or her family and home situation will not be the best, and healthy families should be the goal.
“Limiting our cultural approval of women’s reproductive decisions about the size, shape, and timing of their families to a narrow list of PRIM reasons flies in the face of Jesus’ teaching that he came to bring abundant life. A Christian vision of abundant life requires that we recognize and support the development of healthy and robust families,” she writes.
“It requires that we respect women and the moral decisions that they make about their families. A Christian approach to supporting healthy families recognizes that only individual women and their partners are able to determine their ability to parent a child,” Todd Peters argues.
She claims that it is not Christian to require a woman to have a baby against her will, and argues that mothers should be trusted in their decision to obtain an abortion.
“If we truly value women and healthy families, we must accept that ‘I do not want to have a baby’ is an imminently appropriate reason to end a pregnancy. And we must trust that pregnant women are the only ones who are capable of making these decisions,” Todd Peters writes.
Commenting to OneNewsNow, Tami Fitzgerald of the North Carolina Family Values Coalition said that Todd Peters is twisting Christ’s words.
“As a parent, I would be very cautious about Elon University if they have professors like Todd Peters, who are willing to write articles that would attempt to justify abortion on moral grounds and actually use the words of Jesus out of context,” she said.
Psalm 127:3-5 reads, “Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is His reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man, so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them …”
In Proverbs 6, the Scriptures also state that the Lord hates “hands that shed innocent blood.”
Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked. Who can know it?”

Laura interviewed someone who has seen Sharia’s impact and knows the Islamic tenets first hand. Because of that, she has asked to be disguised, including her voice for security reasons. Lying in Islam is called taqiya and every Muslim is required to use it to promote world domination, and it is clearly used in the 2018 campaign race for Michigan’s Governor by Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed. Example of that is Abdul’s platform and the use of the LBGTQ community when Islam has clear mandates for what should happen to that community.

Investigative journalist Laura Loomer traveled to Michigan with The United West to investigate Abdul El-Sayed, a Muslim candidate running for Governor in Michigan as a Democrat Socialist.

El-Sayed is a Sharia compliant Muslim, but his political platform and talking points directly contradict Islamic law.

Farrah Prudence is an ex-Muslim. Loomer sat down with her and asked her about El-Sayed. According to Farrah, El-Sayed is Sharia compliant and his policies pose a direct threat to women in America given his devout practice of Islamic law, which is inherently misogynistic.

Then he gets backed up by Rowan Atkinson of Blackadder fame. And then the crowning tea moment! All while the mainstream media and outrage merchants are losing their minds!

As everyone knows by now, Boris Johnson, no longer the British Foreign Secretary, but still a prominent MP and force in the Tory Party as well as, again, a journalist for The Telegraph, recently delivered himself of his views on the burqa/niqab. Here is some of what he wrote:
If you say that it is weird and bullying to expect women to cover their faces, then I totally agree.
I would go further and say that it is absolutely ridiculous that people should choose to go around looking like letter boxes.
And he added that “a female student turned up at school or at a university lecture looking like a bank robber” he would ask her to remove it to speak to her.
Mr Johnson, who quit as Foreign Secretary last month over Brexit, said it was “sensible” to be able to read each others facial expressions and humans “must be able to see each other’s faces.”
“He said that individual businesses or branches of Government should be free to enforce a dress code that enables their workers to best interact with customers – which could involve removing the veils.
The Tory grandees made the expected tut-tutting about his language. Tory chair Brandon Lewis asked Johnson to apologize; others merely asked him to watch his language. Apparently Theresa May has gone along with an investigation to be conducted of Johnson’s remarks, the announcement of which has caused “a civil war” in Tory ranks. So far, Boris Johnson has shown no signs of apologizing; he knows that a great many of the Tory rank-and-file share his views on the niqab, and in a showdown over this issue, he will win.
Meanwhile, Lady Warsi, the Muslimah who now sits as a peer in the House of Lords, was enraged:
Johnson’s words send out a message that Muslim women are fair game…As a feminist what really disgusts me in this whole episode is that Muslim women are simply political fodder, their lives a convenient battleground on which to stake out a leadership bid,” she wrote. “Well, this approach is not just offensive, it’s dangerous. Johnson’s words have once again validated the view of those that ‘other’ Muslims. They send out a message that Muslim women are fair game. What starts as useful targets for ‘colorful political language’ and the odd bit of toxic campaigning ends up in attacks on our streets.”
She went on to make clear that she considered Johnson’s words would encourage hate crimes. “So, as much as Johnson thinks he’s being his usual clever self, he’s helping to create an environment in which hate crime is more likely.” She offered no evidence for this, and it seemed she was trying to create the impression that criticism of the niqab was almost a hate crime in itself. Then Sayeeda Warsi offered to give Boris Johnson lessons in diversity training herself. It’s an offer I’m certain he will refuse.
So far, so predictable. But was Johnson wrong? Isn’t the burqa, isn’t the niqab, a security risk? Does Sayeeda Warsi know that in Mecca, during worship, the face-covering is banned?  What does she think of that? Why should the full face covering be banned at the Ka’aba and not, say, at Wembley Stadium, or just outside Buckingham Palace, or in Regents Park?
And now a respected Muslim scholar, Taj Hargey, the imam at Oxford Islamic Congregation, has taken part in the debate. Hargey has been in the news many times before for his moderate stance. He once so angered the Muslim Weekly that the paper declared him to be a “Qadiani” only pretending as a Muslim (“Qadiani” is the pejorative name for Ahmadis, whom other Muslims do not regard as real Muslims) — and such a charge made him a potential target for attack. Hargey, a Sunni Muslim, sued the publication, and won a high five-figure settlement for defamation.
Hargey has entered the lists, firmly in support of Boris Johnson against his hysterical detractors:
Taj Hargey, the imam at Oxford Islamic Congregation, said Mr Johnson should “not apologise for telling the truth.’
“The burka and niqab are hideous tribal ninja-like garments that are pre-Islamic, non-Koranic and therefore un-Muslim.”
“Although this deliberate identity-concealing contraption is banned at the Kaaba in Mecca it is permitted in Britain, thus precipitating security risks, accelerating vitamin D deficiency, endorsing gender-inequality, and inhibiting community cohesion.”
“In reality it is a toxic patriarchy controlling women.”
“Is it any wonder that many younger women have internalised this poisonous chauvinism by asserting that it is their human right to hide their faces? Johnson did not go far enough.”
Boris Johnson has gone off, unfazed, and unapologetic, on holiday abroad.
What does Sayeeda Warsi, stewing in her own malevolence and hate, make of the fact that the Qur’an does not require the niqab? And will she be willing to agree that the niqab could in many circumstances be a “security risk”? Why does she think that in the West, including Great Britain, Muslim women must remove the face-covering for their passport photos? What does Sayeeda Warsi think of the opinion given by the  Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Sheikh Haji Muhammad Sayyid Tantawi, a renowned scholar and head of the Islamic world’s preeminent religious institute, who has stated that “the niqab is a cultural tradition and has nothing to do with Islam.”
Warsi can foam at the mouth about provoking “hate crimes” all she wants, but Boris Johnson will return serenely from his vacation, cite Imam Taj Hargey and Sheikh Tantawy of Al-Azhar on the niqab, refuse to apologize, and watch, bemused, as Theresa May squirms, not knowing quite how to deal with this loose cannon in her ranks. The Tory investigation will take place, dutifully and perfunctorily, and conclude with some anodyne statement about “watching one’s words.” And that will be it. Johnson will not be kicked out of the Party, as the Muslim peer Lord Sheikh, founder of the Conservative Muslim Forum, has demanded. He will be stronger than ever.
The most recent poll has 60 percent of British voters not only backing Johnson’s remarks, but going even further than he did by calling for a complete ban on the niqab, which Johnson himself has so far opposed. What’s a poor prime minister to do, if her benighted people insist on backing Boris? Nothing. That’s what the waffling Theresa May will do: nothing.
And that will be a victory for Boris Johnson, and for Great Britain, now brought one step closer to banning the niqab, just like Austria, France, and Denmark.
As for Johnson’s joke about burqas making women look like letter-boxes, the last word should go to the comedian Rowan Atkinson (“Mr. Bean”), who wrote to The Times: “An almost perfect visual simile and a joke that, whether Mr Johnson apologises for it or not, will stay in the public consciousness for some time to come.”
