– Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s meeting with LGBT activists and pop
icons Tegan and Sara Quin has Christians scratching their heads in
wonder.

“How much more can you possibly gay-ify Canada than it already is?”
wondered Jack Fonseca, a senior political strategist with Campaign Life
Coalition, in an interview Wednesday.

“Canadians are non-stop bombarded with homosexual and transgender
propaganda in our children’s schools, in the liberal media’s newspaper,
TV and radio reporting, and from pop culture celebrities like the
Quins,” he said.

The 38-year-old twin lesbians run their own foundation, the
homosexual activist Tegan and Sara Foundation. On the television show Power Play, the Quins told host Don Martin they’ve met with the Canadian prime minister.

And they also claimed lesbians are under-represented, under-researched, and under-funded in Canada.

The Office of the Prime Minister did not respond to a request for comment about that meeting.

But Trudeau’s militantly pro-LGBT stand is well known.

“I am on your side. I will fight for you, and I will fight with you,”
Trudeau told those gathered at the Toronto Hilton for the
pro-homosexual Egale Identity Gala earlier this year.

According to Fonseca, militant LGBT activists already have the most powerful institutions and corporations under their control.

“It’s breathtaking to witness the gay lobby’s insatiable lust for
power and control of literally everything,” said Fonseca. “That’s what
this is really about. Power and control.”

“The human rights tribunals in this country are stacked with, and
controlled by, gay-activists who see it as their personal mission to
persecute Christians with biased, kangaroo court decisions that go
against Christians almost every single time,” he said.

“The courts and police have fallen in line with LGBT orthodoxy and do their bidding upon command.”

Calls for ‘diversity and inclusion’ are ‘actually dog whistles for more oppression of religious people and their rights’

Kathleen Wynne, Ontario’s former premier and a lesbian, laced every
aspect of Ontario’s educational system with ideological gay propaganda
through an explicit sex-ed program. Pro-gay activists in Alberta’s New
Democratic Party government are doing the same, said Fonseca.

“Homosexual activists who started out commandeering a single day to
celebrate gay pride, next expanded their control of the calendar to an
entire ‘gay pride week,’ and today, we are forced as a society to
celebrate the entire month of June as gay pride month,” he said.

In the biggest corporations in Canada, influential, organized, and
professional gay activists have succeeded at putting in place
corporate-wide indoctrination programs under the guise of “diversity and
inclusion,” said Fonseca.

These activists have also gotten these corporations to undertake
public LGBT propaganda campaigns in their branches everywhere, he said.

“Women’s sports are on the verge of being destroyed with an
increasing frequency of sexually-confused biological males beating real
women in competitions, and taking home the gold medal or champions’
prizes,” noted Fonseca.

At Trinity Western University in British Columbia earlier this year, a pair of 7-2 rulings (here and here) by
Canada’s top court effectively forced the university to choose between
having a law school or following Christianity. The court ruled it was
“proportionate and reasonable” for the law societies of British Columbia
and Ontario to refuse accreditation to future Trinity Western law
school grads because the college’s community covenant was considered to
be discriminatory. The community covenant upheld Christian sexual
ethics. (Trinity Western University eventually caved and abandoned the morality pledge.)

“Gay activists have effectively banned biblical Christians from
having access to an entire profession, i.e. become a lawyer in many
provinces,” said Fonseca.

And even though Wynne is no longer premier of Ontario, one of her
legacies, Bill 89, has led to a policy at public adoption agencies which
bans Christians who seek to adopt or foster children, with the agencies
telling the applicants they are unfit, he said.

“How much more power does the LGBT lobby want?” asked Fonseca. “The
truth is that these powerful pop stars who have direct access to the
most powerful man in Canada aren’t truly interested in protecting
same-sex attracted Canadians whom they claim are ‘disadvantaged’ and
‘oppressed.’”

“The reality is that today, LGBT activists have all the power,” he
said. “In 2018, they are the oppressors and bible-believing Christians,
as well as people of other faiths, are the oppressed.”

Under Trudeau’s leadership, Ottawa has also demanded that all
employers applying for grants to hire students for the summer sign a
“values attestation,” a document that states the employer’s support for
abortion and transgender “rights.” This past summer, that led to many
pro-life and faith-based groups being denied Canada Summer Jobs grants
while Planned Parenthood-affiliated organizations across the country
received $88,270 under the program.

“Christians and those of other faiths need to see that these calls
for ever more ‘diversity and inclusion’ are actually dog whistles for
more oppression of religious people and their rights,” said Fonseca.

The Quin sisters’ real agenda is about taking away parental rights, he warned.

“It’s about using the power and resources of the federal government
to shame, vilify and persecute Christians until their lives are either
ruined, or they abandon their religious beliefs and their natural rights
so as to escape the weight of oppressive government powers,” he said.

 The second migrant caravan to come from Guatemala into Mexico since
October 19 crossed into Mexico on October 29, defying a large police
presence. An AP article that same day reported that members of the
caravan were believed to be armed with bombs and guns. Some members of
the caravan made Molotov cocktails out of gasoline-filled soft-drink
bottles, and others modified PVC tubes to launch fireworks.

Mexican authorities reported that migrants attacked its agents with
rocks, glass bottles, and fireworks when they broke through a gate on
the Mexican end of the bridge spanning the Suchiate River, but police
managed to push them back.

Mexican Interior Secretary Alfonso Navarrete Prida expressed regret
for what he called a second “violent attempt” to storm the border, and
accused the caravan organizers of placing the elderly, pregnant women,
and children at the front, putting them at risk of being crushed.

“Fortunately, that did not happen,” said the secretary.

Despite the difficulty of crossing the border into Mexico (many waded
or swam across the Suchiate River), more than 1,000 people in this
second migrant caravan began walking through southern Mexico on October
30 and reached the Mexican border city of Tapachula. This placed them
about 250 miles behind the first, larger caravan of about 4,000 mainly
Honduran migrants that entered Mexico 10 days ago. They are more than
1,100 miles from Reynosa, across the Rio Grande from McAllen, Texas.

An earlier caravan that headed toward the United States last spring
also began with more than 1,500 mostly Honduran marchers, but only about
300 reached Tijuana on the U.S.-Mexico border. Of those just 122 were
arrested for jumping the border, while more than 330 followed government
directions and waited to apply for asylum through the official ports of
entry, and are now in processing in the United States.

Despite the Trump administration announcing very publicly a
zero-tolerance policy for the caravan, authorities have announced
charges against only a small fraction of the 122 people who jumped the
border.

The New American reported on October 29 that the “migrant
caravan” turned down an offer of asylum made by Mexico and insisted it
would continue its march to illegally cross the U.S. border.

President Trump has dispatched 5,000 troops to help secure the U.S. border, calling the situation “an emergency.”

“I plan to introduce legislation along the same lines as the proposed
executive order from [the] president,” promised Senator Lindsey Graham
(R-S.C.; shown) on Tuesday.

President Donald Trump provoked an outpouring of opposition this week
to his proposal to issue an executive order ending the concept of
“birthright citizenship” — the stance that just because someone is born
on U.S. soil, that person is automatically a citizen, at birth, of the
United States.

Graham praised Trump’s effort to eliminate birthright citizenship.
“Finally, a president willing to take on this absurd policy of
birthright citizenship,” Graham tweeted. “I’ve always supported
comprehensive immigration reform — and at the same time — the
elimination of birthright citizenship.” Graham added that birthright
citizenship “is a magnet for illegal immigration,” and “needs to come to
an end.”

Trump had vowed early in his presidential bid, in 2015, that he would take on the interpretation of the 14th Amendment that any person who happens to born on U.S. soil is a citizen of the United States.

Unfortunately, even House Speaker Paul Ryan took issue with Trump’s
call to end the practice by executive order. Vice President Mike Pence,
however, appeared to support Trump, taking issue with those who argue
that any change in the concept of birthright citizenship would require a
constitutional amendment, noting that “the Supreme Court of the United
States has never ruled on whether or not the language of the 14th Amendment subject to the jurisdiction thereof applies specifically to people who are in the country illegally.”

It is certainly a very important issue, considering that it is
estimated that as many as 400,000 children are born every year in the
U.S. to illegal aliens. This makes them “natural born citizens” of the
United States, according to a fairly recent interpretation of the 14th Amendment. Then, when these “citizens” reach their 21st birthday, they can petition for legal status for their parents.

This is why these babies born on U.S. soil to parents who are in the
country illegally are often dubbed “anchor babies.” An anchor baby
provides his or her parents a cornucopia of welfare benefits.

But, can President Trump end the practice with an executive order?
Interestingly, almost none of those arguing that Trump cannot do so have
defended then-President Barack Obama’s issuance of an executive order
to implement DACA.

For that matter, if the 14th Amendment actually does state
— as poor a public policy as that is — that any child born on U.S. soil
is a citizen at birth, can even Congress do anything about it, as
Senator Graham has suggested?

The 14th Amendment’s language seems quite clear that only
children born to parents who have no other citizenship can be a U.S.
citizen. For example, when Senator Marco Rubio’s parents came from Cuba,
they began the legal process to become naturalized citizens of the
United States. During that time period, little Marco was born on U.S.
soil, to parents who were subject to the jurisdiction of the United
States. Therefore, it is logical to presume that Rubio was a citizen of
the United States, at birth.

“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside” (emphasis added), reads the 14th
Amendment. The phrase “and subject to the jurisdiction thereof,” has,
of course, been ignored by those promoting the concept of open borders.
Yet, the words have some meaning, or otherwise the authors of the 14th
Amendment would not have included them. They would have been redundant
under the spurious interpretation that any child born on U.S. soil is a
citizen at birth.

The purpose of the 14th Amendment was to make it clear that former slaves, regarded as non-citizens under the Supreme Court decision Scott v. Sanford
of 1857, were citizens of the United States. In almost all cases, the
former slaves did not have an acknowledged parent who was a U.S.
citizen, and could not obtain citizenship that way. Without this
necessity to establish the citizenship status of former slaves, the 14th
Amendment would not have even been considered. Its clear purpose was to
confer citizenship on former slaves, not children of illegal aliens.

A cursory reading of the statements by the principal authors of the 14th
Amendment makes it so clear that even a law school professor or a
federal judge should be able to understand it — the amendment was not
intended to make citizens out of illegal aliens.

In 1982, Justice William Brennan (one of the most liberal judges to
ever sit on the Supreme Court) added a footnote in the case of Pyler v. Doe
that he saw “no plausible distinction” that could be made “between
resident aliens whose entry into the United States was lawful, and
resident aliens whose entry was unlawful.”

In other words, that was the opinion of one member of the Supreme
Court — in a footnote. The Court has never ruled on the relevance of the
words “subject to the jurisdiction thereof.” A footnote by one liberal
judge hardly constitutes a precedent.

As a practical matter, it would probably be best for Congress to
enact legislation supporting the president’s interpretation. And, if
someone does not like it, they can always challenge that interpretation.
It would be difficult, from the clear wording of the 14th Amendment,
how any person, much less a judge of the Supreme Court, could come to
any other conclusion.

Lombardy’s populist League-led local government has
blocked plans to turn an old chapel into a mosque after an Islamic group
outbid Christians at the auction of a church in Bergamo, northern
Italy.


Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Matteo Salvini named Islam as “one of the greatest threats to Italy” and stated months ago:

Centuries of history are at risk of disappearing if Islamisation, which has been underestimated until now, finally wins.

Before the rise of Salvini’s “populist” movement, a scenario was
reported two years ago that demonstrated the direction that Italy was
taking with respect to mass migration. Christians at the Church of St. Anthony in Ventimiglia
were ordered to “pray in silence” by the Catholic charity Caritas,
which  facilitates mass migration to Europe, so as not to disturb Muslim
migrants who were living there. The faithful were told by Caritas that
they could not recite the rosary. The organization even boasted “that it
contributes to and seeks to influence European Union (EU) asylum
policies.”

government to halt a sale in the name of safeguarding cultural sites.

According to local media, the auction for the former hospital chapel
was won by the Muslim Association of Bergamo which sought to turn the
building into another mosque in the city after outbidding the Romanian
Orthodox Church, which had used the site for worship since 2015.

Lombardy “will exercise our right of preemption and there will be no
room for an appeal” regarding the sale of the church, said Fontana,
stating that the council intends to “protect” Christianity in Italy.

“I would never have put a church up for sale and I am amazed that the
hospital management did not understand how sensitive this issue was,”
the League politician said.

“I have already contacted Father Gheorghe Valescu, head of the
Romanian Orthodox community in Bergamo, to reassure him and illustrate
the actions that are being taken to ensure the community does not lose
their place of worship,” added Fontana.

League leader Matteo Salvini, who has served as Italian Interior
Minister since June, had vowed ahead of national elections earlier this
year his party would “put a stop to any irregular or abusive Islamic
presence in Italy”,….

It is understandable that the Islamic State would want to murder the 
most prominent exponent of Christianity, but in this the jihadis are 
being short-sighted. Pope Francis and the Catholic Church are among 
their best and most useful friends. Ahmed al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of 
Cairo’s al-Azhar, thanked Pope Francis for his “defense of Islam against 
the accusation of violence and terrorism.”

Francis is not just a defender of Islam, but a defender of the Sharia
death penalty for blasphemy: after Islamic jihadists murdered the
Charlie Hebdo cartoonists who had drawn Muhammad, Francis obliquely justified the murders
by saying that “it is true that you must not react violently, but
although we are good friends if [an aide] says a curse word against my
mother, he can expect a punch, it’s normal. You can’t make a toy out of
the religions of others. These people provoke and then (something can
happen). In freedom of expression there are limits.”

So for the Pope, murdering people for violating Sharia blasphemy laws
is “normal,” and it isn’t terrorism for “Christian terrorism does not
exist, Jewish terrorism does not exist, and Muslim terrorism does not
exist. They do not exist,” he said in a speech.
“There are fundamentalist and violent individuals in all peoples and
religions—and with intolerant generalizations they become stronger
because they feed on hate and xenophobia.”

So there is no Islamic terrorism, but if you engage in “intolerant
generalizations,” you can “expect a punch.” The Pope, like the
Organization of Islamic Cooperation, apparently thinks that the problem
is not jihad terror, but non-Muslims talking about jihad terror; Muslims
would be peaceful if non-Muslims would simply censor themselves and
self-impose Sharia blasphemy restrictions regarding criticism of Islam.

For Pope Francis has no patience
with those who discuss such matters: “I don’t like to talk about
Islamic violence, because every day, when I read the newspaper, I see
violence.” He said, according to Crux,
that “when he reads the newspaper, he reads about an Italian who kills
his fiancé or his mother in law.” The pontiff added: “They are baptized
Catholics. They are violent Catholics.” He said that if he spoke about
“Islamic violence,” then he would have to speak about “Catholic
violence” as well.

That comparison made no sense, for Italian Catholics who killed their
fiancés or mothers in law were not acting in accord with the teachings
of their religion, while the Qur’an and Islamic teaching contain
numerous exhortations to violence.

But Pope Francis, defender of Islam, cannot concern himself with such
minutiae. Nor does he appear to be particularly concerned about the
fact that all his false statements about the motivating ideology behind
the massive Muslim persecution of Christians over the last few years
only enables and abets that persecution, for if that ideology is not
identified and confronted, it will continue to flourish.

AN ISIS-supporting media group has threatened to
assassinate the Pope – a warning which has sparked fears of violence
against the Vatican and Catholic Church.

Extremist media group Al-Abd Al-Faqir has twice issued threats within
the last week in a push for violence during the upcoming Christmas
holiday season.

The media group released online images threatening grenade attacks against the Pope.

In the most recent depiction, a photo of Pope Francis from his visit to Auschwitz in 2016 is used.

A gunman has his weapon pointed at the Pope with while wearing an ISIS wristband.

The text “Don’t think you are away from our attacks” in on the image.

Last year, another pro-ISIS group depicted a van full of weapons heading towards the Vatican and vowing “Christmas blood”.

Wafa Media foundation also released an image “beheading” Pope Francis
and another one of a lone jihadist with a backpack, grenade and rile at
St Peter’s Square.

The message on the image told jihadists that “the crusaders’ feast is approaching”.

It continued without punctuation: “Their convoys will crowd itself in
front of you prepare and plan for them show them the meaning of

Andrew Gillum, the Bernie candidate aspiring to run Florida, has a compelling platform. Racism.
Gillum isn’t saying he’s a racist. Everyone else is a racist. And I do mean everyone.
If you call Andrew Gillum “Andrew” instead of Mayor Gillum (Andy
currently runs Tallahassee, a city with the highest crime rate in
Florida), you’re a racist.
“I’m a sitting mayor and he had the
nerve to address me only as Andrew,” Gillum had whined about former
Rep. Ron DeSantis, his Republican opponent, at a black college.
It was a debate and Gillum had actually been standing at the time.
Also Andrew had compared Ron to a dog and found two hundred different
ways to accuse Ron of racism.
“I wanted to correct him, y’all, but I didn’t want to be petty,” he told students.
Good thing, Andrew chose not to be petty about it. When you’re a
standing mayor of a city with a higher murder rate than Miami, you’ve
gotta think big, y’all.
Just wait until you see what happens
to those Floridians sent to the swamp gulags for failing to genuflect
before Governor Gillum when the gubernatorial limo swings by.
Also if you pay attention to Gillum’s lies about corruption in an FBI investigation, you’re a racist.
“They’ve wanted the people of this state to believe somehow,” Gillum
ranted. “I’m unethical, participated in illegal and illicit activity. I
mean, you name it. The goal is obviously to use my candidacy as a way to
reinforce, frankly, stereotypes about black men.”
Obviously.
The FBI was just using its investigation to reinforce stereotypes about black men. That explains the Hamilton tickets.
But Andrew Gillum, I’m sorry, Mayor Andrew Gillum, has only the
highest evidentiary standards when accusing his political opponents of
racism.
“I’m not calling Mr. DeSantis a racist,” Gillum once said. “I’m simply saying the racists believe he’s a racist.”
And the crooks allegedly believed that Andy was a crook. So by his own standards, he’s a criminal.
But whatever the FBI investigation finds, Mayor Andy continues
breaking new ground in racist shamelessness. After the mass shooting of
Jews in a Pittsburgh synagogue, Gillum decided to shake up his game a
little bit by accusing Rep. Ron DeSantis of racism… and anti-Semitism.
On The Daily Show, Andrew accused his Republican opponent of giving “too much harbor to racists and xenophobes and anti-Semites.”
When you give too much harbor to racists, where is everyone else going to dock their yachts?
As evidence of the racist and anti-Semitic harbor crisis, Gillum
mentioned that Ron DeSantis had “spoken at conferences with them.”
The conferences in question would be the David Horowitz Freedom Center’s Restoration Weekend events. The Washington Post and other media outlets had tried and failed to slur DeSantis as a racist for attending Freedom Center events alongside African-American speakers.
But accusing DeSantis of anti-Semitism for appearing at a conference
organized by David Horowitz, a Jewish man, is ridiculous even by
Gillum’s ludicrous criteria for accusing other people of bigotry.

Then, because Andrew Gillum can only top ridiculous accusations of
racism with more ridiculous accusations of racism, he went on to falsely
claim that his opponent had, “authored a book justifying slavery”.
The book was, “Dreams From Our Founding Fathers: First Principles in the Age of Obama”, which in no way, shape or form justifies slavery. Instead it explained the difficult compromises that the Founders had to make at the early onset of the country.
“For anti-slavery delegates like Hamilton and Franklin, abolition of
slavery would be a moot point if a failure to erect a functioning
government snuffed out the ideals of the American Revolution in their
infancy; then, the future of all Americans, the free as well as the
slave, would eventually be as serfs to a despotic government,” DeSantis
wrote.
That’s not a justification of slavery. It explains why opponents of slavery decided not to break up the United States over it.
It’s a history book. A text which, like the dictionary, the duly
elected ruler of a place where 1 in 5 adults struggles with reading,
Hizzoner appears to be woefully unfamiliar with.
But,
according to Andrew, history is also racist, as is the corruption
investigation hanging over his head and referring to a standing mayor of
a hellhole by his first name, instead of by his full mayoral title.
Then, because shame and Gillum haven’t been on speaking terms since 1982, he went right back to the primal smear.
After winning the GOP primary, DeSantis had gone on FOX News and
warned voters that ,”The last thing we need to do is to monkey this up
by trying to embrace a socialist agenda with huge tax increases and
bankrupting the state.”
The media and Gillum claimed that
this was a covert way of accusing him of being a monkey, rather than a
commonplace figure of speech.
At the time, Gillium grumped,
“I’m not going to go down in the gutter.” Sitting in a restaurant
opposite Trevor Noah, the sitting mayor of Tallahassee decided that the
gutter looked pretty good after all.
“But I mean ‘monkey
around,’ right? ‘Monkey business.’ ‘Monkey it up.’ I mean this guy is
Harvard- and Yale-educated. He could come up with a better phrase,”
Gillum insinuated. “He said exactly what he meant to say. He
communicated exactly what he wanted to say to his voters, to his
constituents, and then, when he got called on it, he tried to run from
it.”
As usual Gillum is projecting. He’s the one who is
communicating exactly what he wants to say to the voters before running
away from it. He had originally claimed that DeSantis wasn’t a racist,
but that “the racists believe he’s a racist.”
Apparently one of those racists is Gillium.
If you believe Andrew Gillium, “monkey this up”, “monkey business” and
“monkey around” are all the signature phrases of racists. If you doubt
that Ronald Reagan was a bigot, just consider his starring role in
Bedtime for Bonzo (1951) opposite a chimp. And Clint Eastwood’s
conservative turn could have been read in his appearance in Every Which
Way but Loose (1978) opposite an orangutan.
Reading racism
into everything isn’t a sign of critical awareness. It means you’ve
failed the Rorschach test and have no career options except campus
agitator, as a field organizer for a leftist group fighting American “genocide”, or as the lying mayor of Tallahassee.
But Andrew Gillium wasn’t just satisfied with false accusations of
racism, he decided to appropriate the pain and grief of the Jewish
community in yet another false accusation, this time that of
anti-Semitism.
Accusing Ron DeSantis of being anti-Semitic
because he attended conferences organized by a Jewish man isn’t just a
lie; it shows how shameless and ignorant Andrew Gillium’s accusations of
bigotry are.
There is no depth to which he will not sink. No low that Andy will not descend to further his own career.
After using false accusations of racism to rally black voters, he’s
now trying to use false accusations of anti-Semitism in a state with a
large Jewish population. And it won’t matter to the media, which has
helped spread his lies with its fake news, that the man he’s accusing of
anti-Semitism is Jewish.
And yet, what does it say that about
a movement that the man some Democrats are preemptively touting as vice
presidential timber isn’t running on much except false accusations of
racism?
That, and accusing one of the conservative movement’s most prominent Jews of anti-Semitism.

A video posted to Twitter Tuesday showed a shipment of
hundreds of military vehicles reportedly being sent to the US border in
anticipation of a showdown with the migrant caravan currently headed to
the US.
“Train in Arizona recently heading southbound,” @RightWingLawMan wrote on Twitter. “Trump ain’t playin’.”
The footage comes as President Trump announced he would be sending 5,200 troops
to strengthen border security after reports that a caravan of about
14,000 migrants, made up of mostly Hondurans, has continued making its
way towards the US border.

Is being Christian and robustly conservative now against tech

companies’ terms of service? It increasingly seems so. A good example is

 the report that the pro-life, pro-family LifeSiteNews.com was recently

blacklisted by its hosting company and given only 12 hours to find a new

 one — or risk being offline.



LifeSite is a Christian entity that covers a range of issues, with

special focus on life, family, and the sexual devolution. Frequent

readers also may recognize it as a site from which I sometimes quote. As

 for its problems, LifeSite reported October 27:







This is extremely urgent. I need to

inform you that LifeSite just received an email at 8:30 p.m. EST from

our web-hosting company alerting us that they will be taking our website

 down within 12 hours, if not sooner.








They wrote: “we are implementing our ‘SUSPENSION OF SERVICES’ clause…and giving you 12 hours notice to move your web site operations off of our servers…”








We received absolutely no forewarning whatsoever about this decision.


LifeSite doesn’t mention the hosting company’s name, but according to the former’s DNS record and an LGBT-activist blog (which I won’t publicize by linking to), it’s San Francisco-based Cloudflare.

While LifeSite covers many issues, it was, unsurprisingly, focus on

homosexuality that got it in trouble. In particular, the news organ

explains, “The [hosting] company told LifeSite it is acting in response

to a months-long campaign of complaints against us by Adam Flanders.

Flanders is a convicted sex abuser and homosexual activist who is

angered over our reports exposing him and his past.”









LifeSite continues, writing that Flanders “has already succeeded in

taking down other pro-family websites by targeting their server

companies.” For example, the site related in September that the “entire website for Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH.org) was shut down for more than two weeks beginning August 24 after … Flanders … threatened a lawsuit against FirstLight Fiber,

 the Internet Service Provider (ISP) for AFTAH’s web host company.

Flanders claimed his mugshot photo from a 2006 assault arrest against a

minor boy was ‘copyrighted’ material.”

According to AFTAH founder Peter LaBarbera, Flanders “pleaded guilty in 2008 to ‘Sexual Abuse of a Minor’

 involving a boy aged 14 or 15” and had sexual relations with a

14-year-old lad when he was 18. He’s in Maine’s and California’s

sex-offender registries, and his registry pages are found here and here, according to LifeSite.

In a Sunday morning update, LifeSite reported

 that its web developer spent all night working and ensured that the

site would remain online. However, the news organ states that it’s only a

 temporary solution and that it’s currently searching for another

hosting company.

Tech-company censorship/squelching of traditionalist dissent is

nothing new. Facebook’s cancelling/suppression of conservative pages,

Twitter’s “shadowbanning” and closing of conservatives’ accounts, and

Google’s leftist manipulation of search results are already well known.

Moreover, big tech appears to be intensifying its censorship efforts to

sway the midterm elections.

Yet there’s something even more ominous here. Consider: Drawing parallels with our time, LifeSite’s Jonathon van Maren pointed out

 in a 2015 piece that, counterintuitively, Cold War-era Hungarian

communists didn’t outlaw Christianity. But they did enforce a certain

standard:

“You could either be a Christian — or you could be successful.”

(The same can increasingly be said of being conservative today.)

We’ve seen this already in North America. Examples include:

• Christian bakers and other businessmen punished — and sometimes

forced to shut down — because they refused to service so-called same-sex

 weddings;

• efforts to force doctors to perform abortions and provide contraception;

• efforts to deny Christian colleges accreditation or prevent their law-school graduates from practicing law;

• laws mandating that adoption agencies — including Christian ones — must place children with same-sex couples;

• California’s erstwhile prohibition against judges participating in the Boy Scouts organization; and

• hate-speech laws in Canada (among other places) used to punish those expressing certain Christian moral positions.

Obviously, if it’s impossible for faithful Christians to enter certain fields or earn a living if they exercise (a word referencing action)

 their religion — guaranteed under the First Amendment — they won’t

enter those fields or earn a living. This is how you disempower a class

of people.

As van Maren points out, this extends to politics in Canada where,

increasingly, the Christian view of life is a disqualifier from holding

office. He writes that this is “a clever tactic, and a dangerous one, as

 it gives Christians less and less control over their own futures.”

To paraphrase what follows, “If fewer Christians enter politics, our

voice in government grows quieter. If fewer Christians enter the field

of medicine, the entire field suffers. And if organizations like Legal

Leaders for Diversity have their way, there will be far fewer Christian

lawyers — which means that as Christians increasingly need legal

assistance to defend their dwindling religious freedoms, they will have

fewer lawyers to rely on.”

And as Christian/conservative voices are banished from the public

square by big (and little) tech, we’ll have fewer opportunities to speak

 out against the above.

By the way, illustrating tech-company manipulation, I searched for

van Maren’s article based on memory using certain terms. His piece was nowhere to be found

 on Google’s first three pages (and few users go beyond the second

page). So I then pasted the same terms into search engine DuckDuckGo.com

 — van Maren’s article was the very first result. This again underlines how, as I’ve explained, Google is no longer truly a search engine. It’s a propaganda engine.

As for this suppression of speech and beliefs, many will reflexively

say there should just be “freedom of expression” with all points of view

 heard. Yet it’s not that simple.

Our First Amendment only protects against government trampling of

speech, and most of the entities effecting this censorship are private.

Yet the point almost universally missed is that while you may avoid government laws suppressing speech, social laws are a different matter: All civilizations censor the tongue in some way.

Years ago, for instance, there was a strong social prohibition

against using foul language around women and children, and we’ve long

had indecency laws. Moreover, espousing ideas considered heretical got

you in trouble not just in medieval Europe but in colonial America,

where you could be scorned and ostracized. In ancient Greece,

philosopher Socrates was convicted and later executed for corrupting the

 young and “mocking the gods.” And in the 1950s United States, being an

avowed Marxist or Nazi meant you couldn’t be successful.

So it’s not a matter of whether we’ll have socially enforced speech

codes, but only of what they will be — and, most significantly, of what

is censored. Are lies shamed and banished?

Or is the Truth?

It’s clear what is increasingly being banished today. But seldom

understood is why: Conservatives fight for political power at election

time.

But they generally fail to fight for cultural power anytime.

As philosopher G.K. Chesterton put it,

 “All conservatism is based upon the idea that if you leave things alone

 you leave them as they are. But you do not. If you leave a thing alone

you leave it to a torrent of change.”

The rule, simply, is that if you don’t control the culture, the

culture controls you. To be tolerant of evil is to be visited with, and

Recent shootings, such as in the Pittsburgh synagogue, are the

justification cited by Dr. Ana Maria Lopez, president of the American

College of Physicians (ACP), for doctors getting involved in the gun

debate. According to Dr. Lopez, such incidents illustrate “how important

 and poignant it is for there to be policies that can be really

effective in keeping guns away from both those who are either a risk to

themselves or to others.”


Accordingly, the ACP released some recommendations this week on how

doctors can play a role in reducing “gun violence.” Specifically, the

ACP wants physicians to pry into whether their patients have guns in the

 home, so they can offer them counsel on gun safety, and in some cases,

report them to the police.


“Firearm-related injuries and deaths really continue to be a part of what is harmful to patients and families,” Lopez said.


But the ACP wants more than just friendly advice from your family

doctor. The ACP has supported “appropriate regulation of the purchase of

 legal firearms to reduce firearms-related injuries and death,” as well

as more child access prevention laws that would hold the owners of

firearms accountable for the safe storage of their guns.


In addition, ACP advocates for laws banning the manufacture, sale,

transfer, and even ownership of so-called rapid-killing semiautomatic

firearms for civilian use.


Along with asking patients about guns in the home, ACP favors new

laws (popularly known as “red flag laws”) that will allow families and

law enforcement to petition a court to “temporarily” remove firearms

from individuals who may be a risk to themselves and others. In other

words, if a doctor were so inclined, he could turn his patient in to the

 cops, if he suspected that patient should be stripped of his right to

have a gun in the home. While some might argue that physicians could be

expected to only take such steps in extreme cases, the reality is that a

 doctor motivated enough to ask such intrusive questions about guns is

much more likely to be an anti-gun rights crusader.


Dr. Lopez attempts to justify this war on the private ownership of

firearms arguing, “We speak with our patients about, ‘do you use a seat

belt?’ If they ride a bike or ride a motorbike, ‘do you use a helmet?’

So, these are public health issues, and it’s similar to ask patients if

there’s a gun in the home.”


Actually, I have never been asked such questions by my doctors, and

if I were I would probably find a different doctor. It would seem rather

 strange to me to visit a physician for an upper-respiratory infection

and be asked if I use a seat belt.


Another physician, Dr. Garen Wintemute, an emergency-room physician

in California, agreed with the recommendations, noting, “I talk with

patients about firearms almost every shift I work as an emergency

physician.”


David Hemenway, professor of health policy at Harvard, also supported

 the recommendations, arguing, “The evidence is overwhelming that

firearm violence in the United States — firearms killing people, scaring

 people, injuring people — is an enormous public health problem.”


Another doctor, Timothy Wheeler, has a different take, however,

calling such political advocacy during the doctor-patient situation a

“boundary violation.” Dr. Wheeler offered the illustration of a person

visiting a doctor for back pain, and being asked if he has a gun in the

home. The doctor may even suggest that the patient would be better off

“if you had no guns at all in your house.”


Wheeler contends that while an anti-gun rights doctor may profess

concern for patient safety, “their ulterior motive is a political

prejudice against guns and gun owners.” A patient who seeks medical help

 or psychiatric treatment “is often in a uniquely dependent, anxious,

vulnerable, and exploitable state.” Wheeler charges that this physician

is putting his own needs and political beliefs “before the needs of the

patient,” and has crossed the line form healer to political activist.


Besides that, the intrusive questions about guns in the home are

based on several fallacies. The often cited work of Dr. Arthur

Kellerman, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, is

 used to argue that persons who keep guns in the home are more likely to

 be victims of homicide than those who do not. However, Dr. Edgar Suter,

 chairman of Doctors for Integrity in Policy Research, refutes

Kellerman’s research, contending that gun-control researchers fail to

consider and underestimate the protective benefits of guns. Dr. Suter

wrote, “The true measure of the protective benefits of guns are the

lives and medical costs saved, the injuries prevented, and the property

protected.”


Kellerman’s work has also been debunked in that he used study

populations that have disproportionately higher rates of serious

psycho-social dysfunction. Fifty-three percent of the case subjects,

according to the website of the American Association of Physicians and

Surgeons (AAPS), had a history of a household member being arrested, and

 32 percent had a household member hit or hurt in a family fight.


In the book Point Blank: Guns and Violence in America, Dr.

Gary Kleck found that the defensive uses of firearms by citizens amount

to a 2.5 million uses per year. Kleck argues that between 25-75 lives

are saved by a gun for every life lost to a gun.


The actual U.S. healthcare costs of treating gunshot wounds is only about 0.2 percent of annual healthcare expenditures.


Finally, many argue that a gun in the home makes suicide more likely,

 but the evidence does not support that assertion. In Japan, Hungary,

and Scandinavia, countries that have very strict gun-control laws have

much higher rates of suicide — two or three times higher — than the

United States. With no gun available, they simply use other methods,

such as knives, drowning, suffocation, or hanging.


The usual liberal mantra is that it is all about the children, but

Professor John Lott’s studies have found that children 14-15 years of

age are 14.5 times more likely to die from automobile injuries and even

three times more likely to die from a bicycle accident than from a gun

accident.


Allowing that some of these anti-gun advocates sincerely believe that

 they are protecting the population from itself, we must also consider

that for many, getting doctors to harangue patients about having a gun

in the home is just another way to reduce the number of law-abiding

Americans who own a firearm.


The ultimate goal for many of those who express concern about “gun

violence” is the elimination of the private ownership of firearms, but

that goal is counter to American history and law. As Supreme Court

Justice Joseph Story wrote in 1833, “The right of the citizens to keep

and bear arms has justly been considered the palladium of the liberties

of a republic; since it offers a strong moral check against usurpation

and arbitrary power of rulers; and will generally, even if these are

successful in the first instance, enable the people to resist and

triumph over them.”


If a doctor were to ask you if you have a gun in the home, ask him if

 he has ever read this quotation from Justice Story or simply ask him to

Pakistani Christian Asia Bibi (Aasiya Noreen) was convicted of violating Sharia blasphemy laws after drinking out of a bucket used by Muslims. Bibi was sentenced to death. After spending eight years on death row, the Supreme Court of Pakistan overturned the conviction. Due to ongoing threats of violence, Bibi and her family must now seek asylum outside of Pakistan.

Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN)Pakistan’s Supreme Court has acquitted a Christian woman who has been on death row for almost eight years on blasphemy charges.



Asia Bibi, a mother of five from Punjab province, was convicted of blasphemy in 2010 and sentenced to hang after she was accused of defiling the name of the Prophet Muhammed during an argument the year before with Muslim colleagues.



The workers had refused to drink from a bucket of water Asia Bibi had touched because she was not Muslim. At the time, Asia Bibi said the case was a matter of women who didn’t like her “taking revenge.”



She won her appeal against the conviction and subsequent death sentence on Wednesday.



The court quoted Shakespeare’s “King Lear” in its ruling, saying Asia Bibi appeared to have been “more sinned against than sinning.”



“Even if there was some grain of truth in the allegations leveled in this case against the appellant still the glaring contradictions in the evidence of the prosecution highlighted above clearly show that the truth in this case had been mixed with a lot which was untrue,” the ruling said….



Islamist movement Tehreek-e Labbaik had previously vowed to take to the streets if Bibi was released, and protests broke out in Islamabad and Lahore soon after the ruling was announced.



Within hours, the protests were large enough that government officials in the cities were urging people to stay inside and avoid adding to the chaos….

There are badly timed product rollouts. And then there are really badly timed product rollouts. As the mass shooting at a synagogue in Squirrel Hill has touched off a nationwide debate about anti-Semitism, an ice cream company decided that it was the perfect time to roll out a flavor celebrating its affiliation with an anti-Semitic hate group.





With ice cream company Ben & Jerry’s announcement on Tuesday showcasing a new flavor to help support groups “fighting President Trump’s regressive agenda,” the company revealed that they recently partnered with the Women’s March organization.





That would be the same Women’s March whose leaders have trafficked in anti-Semitism and endorsed Farrakhan, a racist black nationalist leader, who praised Hitler and compared Jews to termites.





 No one, however, expected to discover that three Women’s March co-chairs—Linda Sarsour, Carmen Perez, and Tamika Mallory—had ties to Farrakhan. More mysterious and disturbing was the extended reluctance of the Women’s March, nearly a year since it became public, to acknowledge Farrakhan’s extremist views and disassociate themselves from them.



It all came to a head last week, after Farrakhan delivered his address to the annual Nation of Islam gathering for Saviours’ Day, the sect’s three-day holiday honoring its founder, Wallace Fard Muhammad. Farrakhan denounced “Satanic Jews,” said that “when you want something in this world, the Jew holds the door,” and at the climax of his speech, proclaimed, “White folks are going down, and Satan is going down, and Farrakhan by God’s grace has pulled the cover off of that Satanic Jew—and I’m here to say, your time is up.”





When you think of Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream… think of Satanic Jews.





Naturally, this renewed interest in just what the Women’s March was thinking. Mallory further stoked controversy when a woman questioning her about Farrakhan’s anti-Semitism drew a response from a preacher asking her to condemn Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and praying for Jesus to cast out the “wicked spirit laying on her heart.” Linda Sarsour surfaced to say the man was “too blessed,” and Mallory tweeted, “If your leader does not have the same enemies as Jesus, they may not be THE leader!”





Then Mallory went after the ADL. And Starbucks chose the racists of the Women’s March over the ADL. 



Eric Holder, who has posed with Farrakhan, and was working with Starbucks at the time, may have had something to do with that. But now a new trendy corporation is climbing into the Farrakhan sewer.





When asked directly about the Women’s March close ties to Farrakhan, a spokeswoman for Ben & Jerry’s told IJR they may not agree with all the groups they partner with, but they are “comfortable” with having different views, even “controversial” ones:



“We’re comfortable with the idea that the people and the causes we partner with may have a point of view different from our own on some issues. They can be controversial, just as we can. Linda may not agree with everything we’ve done. But the work that she has done to promote women’s rights, as co-chair of the Women’s March, is undeniably important and we are proud to join her in that effort.”





I can’t wait for Coconut Hitler brand Ben and Jerry’s ice cream, which disavows the whole murdering people thing, but recognizes his achievements in making the trains run on time.

Conservative, Christian-identifying churches nationwide are hosting Halloween-themed events throughout the month of October, some featuring or including Halloween-centered sermons and performances, haunted hayrides, and/or costume contests with children and adults alike dressing up as skeletons, ghosts, witches and other images of death or evil.



Chet Gallagher, a missions pastor who formerly served as a Nevada police officer, recently posted a short video of a “trunk or treat” event being held at Journey Church in Lebanon, Tennessee, pastored by Erik Reed. He said in the clip that he decided to stop and record video of the happenings outside of the church “to expose how absolutely horrific and wicked it can be for these ‘trunk or treat’ events.”



Gallagher then walked to a van that was parked near the entrance to show that sitting inside the back of the open van was a life-size skeleton, with an inflatable angry ghost attached to the side of the vehicle. He noted that the parking lot was still busy after the event was over.



“This is in front of a Christian church, friends. How can something so demonic be displayed at one of the largest churches in Lebanon, Tennessee?” he asked. “Again, all this hoorah on this so-called trunk or treat, and this is a representation. What is wrong with this picture?”







Gallagher also shared a photograph of a sign at nearby Shop Springs Baptist Church, led by Bo Irvin, which advertised that it was holding a “fall festival,” which includes a costume contest. The church has since posted photos of the event online.



One photograph shows three young girls with their face painted, one with plastic fangs in her mouth, and another donning a skeleton costume with smaller skulls on her dress. Another photograph shows a man with a skull in the back of his jeep and a ghost hanging inside.



A third photograph shows a mother donning a Wicked Witch of the West costume in reference to “The Wizard of Oz,” and a fourth photograph includes a woman with elaborate face paint in the fashion of “El Dia De Los Muertos” (The Day of the Dead).



A photograph also displayed the trophy for “best costume,” which depicts a headless skeleton holding its skull in its hands.



A number of churches nationwide either hosted, plan to host, or took their youth out for a “haunted hayride,” including Chatham Friends Church in Snow Camp, North Carolina; Stony Creek Community Church in Stony Creek, New York; Fellowship Baptist Church in Maineville, Ohio; and Freedom Church of Osage Beach, Missouri.



“It’s going to be AWESOME! We will have a costume contest, games, candy, lots of food, and of course, a scary hayride,” Freedom Church wrote on its social media page.



CityLight Benson Church in Omaha, Nebraska, co-led by Tyler Zach and Alex Marquez, permitted its parking lot to be used on Saturday for an area “Zombie Walk” as a means to “make friends” with its neighbors in the city.



“Over 1,000 dressed-up zombies will begin congregating in our church’s parking lot at 6 p.m. We will be provid[ing] food and a free photo booth. This will be a great way to let the city know who we are!” the CityLight website reads.



Church by the Glades in Coral Springs, Florida, led by David Hughes, presented a series of Halloween-themed messages called “Spooktacular” throughout the month of October, including sermons entitled “How to Hug a Vampire” and “Escaping a Haunted Mansion.” Services included Halloween-spun live remakes of secular hits, such as Michael Jackson’s “Scream” —performed with a cemetery theme—and George Thorogood’s “Bad to the Bone”—performed with dancers dressed as skeletons.



“We all have scary skeletons in the closet. Whether it’s something that has afflicted us for years or something that happened just yesterday, we all are looking to escape the haunting that comes from past mistakes. Join us for ‘Escaping a Haunted Mansion’ as we talk about leaving the past in the past and looking forward to fulfilling our purpose in Christ,” the church website reads.



On Oct. 29 and 30, Church by the Glades also hosted trunk-or-treat in the church parking lot, with admission being one bag of candy. Last year’s sermon series centered on Harry Potter with a “Hogwarts Halloween” theme.



The Church at Lake Forest in Walls, Mississippi, led by Christopher Sykes, hosted its “Spooktacular” on Sunday evening, featuring costume contests and a giveaway for a Nintendo Switch. The sermon series for the month is the Halloween theme “Ghost,” which refers to the Holy Spirit.



“SPOOKTACULAR is a family-friendly event that includes an amazing service, high-energy worship, costumes, games, food, and candy for all kids!” the church website states.



Compassion Church in Hartwell, Georgia is holding a block party on Halloween night to “celebrate our city.” It will similarly give away a Nintendo game system during the event, as well as a 50″ television.



Passion Church in Maple Grove, Minnesota, led by Jonathan Brozozog, also recently presented its annual Michael Jackson “Thriller” performance with a Halloween theme, and held a separate costume parade for the children. The Oct. 21 sermon was entitled “Haunted House,” and a costume and dance party is scheduled for Halloween night for middle and high school-aged youth.



SHOULD CHRISTIANS PARTAKE?

Some churches state that celebrating Halloween is a matter of conscience, and is up to each individual. Newspring Church in Anderson, South Carolina writes on its website that Christians “must not impose our personal conscience issues on others.”



“The Bible doesn’t directly say not to participate in Halloween. What the Bible doesn’t explicitly prohibit, we have the freedom to make decisions about using wisdom and guidance from the Holy Spirit to lead us. If we listen to Jesus and do what He says, He will never lead us away from Himself,” it states. “If dressing in costumes and going door to door offends your conscience, don’t do it. If it doesn’t bother you, celebrate Halloween.”



Matt Chandler of The Village Church in Flower Mound, Texas similarly released a video last week in which he opined that Halloween is, to most people, “probably far less about demons and witches” and “far more about candy and costumes and fun for the kids.” He pointed to Scripture in the New Testament about meat offered to idols and said that if one’s “conscience is pricked,” they shouldn’t celebrate Halloween, but if one’s “conscience is clear,” they should use the event within boundaries to meet one’s neighbors and practice hospitality.



However, others state that Halloween presents serious spiritual concerns because it subtly introduces children to evil under the banner of fun or dress-up.



“Demons are for real. Witches are for real. Sorcery is for real. There is nothing good or clean or funny about any of it,” wrote Alan Morrison of Diakrisis International. “To encourage children to be involved in such things in any way is surely irresponsible and can ultimately be damaging to their spiritual health.”



“It is indeed true that Christ ‘disarmed principalities and powers’ and ‘made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them’ (Col. 2:15); but it is bizarre in the extreme to make a joke out of those evil powers, even impersonating them at fancy dress parties,” he said. “It completely minimizes that evil power (and the power of the gospel to take away that power) if we just join in the world’s jokey, festive, celebrational attitude toward the dark purveyors and vehicles of that evil power.”



John Ramirez, a New York City evangelist who had been involved in Santeria and Palo Mayombe for over two decades before being set free by the power of Christ, also has spoken strongly on the topic from experience as a former occultist.



“Let’s get it straight. People come to the church because the Holy Spirit draws you to the church. Our job is to preach truth … Let’s stop mixing this whole situation with the world and the Church, because you know what you get when you mix things up? You get something that’s deformed, and Christ is never in it,” he said in an interview posted to YouTube. “So, let truth be truth, and let’s stop playing games with the things of God. Let’s stop playing games and dressing it up and calling it Jesus.”



“Jesus is not in Halloween,” Ramirez, author of “Unmasking the Devil,” said. “C’mon. I practiced these things for 25 years. … There were different levels how we celebrated Halloween. There were different levels how we put witchcraft on people’s door depending on how they dressed the door up. … When you carve the pumpkin, when you put the pumpkin at your door, you are inviting that principality into your house.”



“Why is it that we need to celebrate something that has to do with the world? Something that has a demonic history about it, how is it that we are going to slap the name Jesus on it and make it ours?” he asked.



The late author and preacher Art Katz once mourned in his sermon “And They Crucified Him,” “[W]e ought to look different, speak differently, act differently, that there ought to be such a savor and fragrance about us of Christ that it is a savor of death unto death itself and life unto life to others. The fact that the world can so easily tolerate us, the fact of the almost complete absence of reproach, let alone persecution, it itself a shameful testimony that we are so [much] like the world that we cannot be distinguished from it. We have lost even the difference, the sense of difference, between that which is sacred and that which is profane.”



2 Corinthians 6:17-18, and 2 Corinthians 7:1 exhorts, “Wherefore come out from among them and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”

The Sorry State Of Christian Reasoning Today, As Evidenced By A Laodicean Look At Halloween

A Response to Fox News’ take on Christians and Halloween



On this October 31st, in the year of our Lord 2018, I was made aware of an article on Fox News that tried to justify Christians partaking in the customs of Halloween:




My first thought was, why are Christians reading Fox News? Are they actually interested in learning doctrine from an organization that employs open sodomites, and is otherwise hostile to Bible-believing Christians?



As I read the article, I thought a response was needful, as the errors promoted in this essay are very common among believers.



She starts by recounting her relatively conservative upbringing regarding Halloween, and how that changed over time. Notably, she claimed that partaking in Halloween had no effect on her:



As I entered my teenage years, my parents set me free to dress up as non-Biblical characters and run around the neighborhood rather than the fall-festival, recognizing that I was not going to confuse trick-or-treating for worshipping Satan. And in the end, I think most people would say I turned out OK.



So the first thought she puts in her readers’ minds is that trick or treating is not worshipping Satan. And with her own life as proof, it causes no lasting harm.



Obviously, these arguments hold no water. One could play a video game where one kills in gory detail, and not confuse that with actual murder. And I am sure there are many people who played such vile games that “turned out OK.” Clearly, the fact that one sin is not as far along a path of depravity as another is not justification for a sin. And the fact that one turns out alright later in life, does not answer the question of whether a given behavior is pleasing to God.



Now it might seem that I am going overboard by treating those introductory statements of hers as some kind of arguments for her position. And if she followed up the rest of her article with any coherent arguments justifying her position, I would have overlooked these statements. But these “arguments” are about as coherent as anything else she says in this article trying to justify her position. So I felt the need to deal with them also.



The author goes on to accuse those who would express disapproval of the choices made regarding celebrating Halloween of “judging” and “casting stones”:



We aren’t celebrating evil. In fact, we carry the light of Christ with us on Easter just as much as we do on Halloween. But here’s the funny thing I’ve found among Christian parents in particular. We’ve gotten good at judging what one another does for Halloween. Those who feel firmly that Halloween shouldn’t be celebrated gasp at those who allow their kids to partake in the festivities. And those who allow their kids to partake in dressing up and trick-or-treating enjoy poking fun at those who would prefer to wear Biblical costumes.



So I can’t help but wonder what difference could we make as Christian parents if we simply chose to proceed in love and without casting stones?



Notice that even the mildest expression of disapproval (gasping at someone) is likened to “judging” and “casting stones.”



Tragically, this generation of easily offended Christians has forgotten what the Bible says about judging and casting stones.



The modern practice of making a figurative use of our Lord’s words to chastise anyone who calls on believers to change their ways, is a wholesale wresting of the verses in question. Behold:



John 8: 4-11 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? … He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her…. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.



Notice first that the stones that they were discussing were literal stones. Not words of rebuke. Not a gasp of disapproval. But actual stones, that according to the law, after a proper trial under the auspices of the duly constituted civil government, were to be picked up and thrown at the adulterers until they were dead.



Notice further that the Lord called her to repentance of her sin. He told her to “go and sin no more.” If “casting stones” means rebuking a believer as so many modern day professing Christians believe, then the Lord himself is guilty of this “sin.”



As is often the case in the Bible the very verses she referenced refuted the point she was making. Calling someone to turn from her sins is not casting stones.



Similarly, professed followers of Christ nowadays think that criticizing a fellow believer’s behavior is somehow “judging” as in, “Judge not lest ye be judged.” Time forbids a discussion of this verse, but take note that if one reads the context (Matthew 7:1-5) the verses are actually saying something quite different than this untoward generation might think.



As one final point on this topic, note that she contrasts “casting stones” (by which she means expressing disapproval) with “love”:



So I can’t help but wonder what difference could we make as Christian parents if we simply chose to proceed in love and without casting stones?



Now I understand that we could be wrongfully judgmental with our fellow believers at times, and sometimes we need to just show grace. We can’t go around trying to correct everything that we see that is being done wrong, even when we are certain we are right.



But in their haste to avoid being harsh, many Christians of our day have all too often fallen off the narrow path onto the other side of the issue. It is like we have collectively forgotten verses like this are in our Bible:



Leviticus 19:17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.



According to the above verse, to withhold a “judging” rebuke, in some circumstances, is not loving but is instead hateful.



What the author writes next is interesting (but in a sad way):



Several years ago, when I will confess, I was actually beginning to feel guilty for letting my kids participate in Halloween due to much of what I was hearing and reading in the Christian world about why they shouldn’t trick-or-treat.



So the author felt guilty. Was it the Holy Ghost and her conscience? Or was it false guilt caused by bad doctrine and misguided, self-righteous Christians? Let’s find out what she says!



I read an article from a friend, and fellow author, Jessica Thompson, that brought much relief to my unnecessary burden.



She wrote, “But I am calling to all moms out there to remember for just a couple minutes that your standing before God doesn’t change depending on what you do on October 31. To be honest, it doesn’t change no matter what you do any day of the year. You could throw the biggest block party, and hundreds of people could get saved because of the light you were to your community – and God loves you exactly the same way he loves the other parent who listened to the convictions of their hearts and stayed home. So can we please remember that we are all made righteous before God because of the work of Christ? And can we please stop trying to find our righteousness in our own traditions?”



So her fellow author relieved her guilt by reminding her that “we are all made righteous before God because of the work of Christ’. She says our “standing before God doesn’t change … no matter what [we] do any day of the year.”



Does she mean we could do anything, and it doesn’t change our standing before God? In her context, she just listed celebrating Halloween or staying home. But what about murder? I know she didn’t say that, but the question is relevant nonetheless when we examine her statements in detail.



When she says we are made righteous by the work of Christ, this is true, in the right context. We are saved by grace through faith alone. Christ died for our sins and it is only through him that we are righteous. And whether we celebrate Halloween or actively abstain from such, this is still true.



But how does this fact have anything to do with the question at hand? The question at hand is this: Is it wrong in the sight of God for Christians to trick or treat, etc. or is partaking in Halloween an allowable difference of opinion?



The answer her friend gave sheds no light on this topic, and provided her no reason to ignore her conscience. For in the context of her friend’s argument for liberty to celebrate Halloween, we can also murder, fornicate, or get drunk – and it would still be just as true, that we are made righteous by Christ. Why we could even “worship Satan” outright as the author alluded to earlier, and even such a bad work as that would have no bearing on our standing with God. God would still love us “just exactly the same way,” as the author’s friend stated.



So the idea that we are made righteous by the work of Christ is true, even if we were to commit murder, etc. Now presumably the author would not justify murder. But if you can’t use that argument to justify murder, you can’t use it to justify Christian liberty to celebrate Halloween either. Both positions stand or fall on their own merits. This idea that since believers are made righteous by the work of Christ this somehow answers the question of whether a believer should partake in Halloween traditions is a non-sequitur.



The author then ends her article with this conclusion:



So there you have it. The pressure to make the perfect decision about Halloween is off. You are free to shine the light of Christ wherever you find yourself on this All Saints Eve.



But as we have seen, nothing she wrote gave any valid argument as to why she should disregard the issue of celebrating Halloween as a Christian. We are not “free to shine the light of Christ wherever we may find ourselves” (such as in a strip club for instance.)



I hope, gentle reader, that whatever your view is regarding celebrating Halloween, that you can still see that this Fox News article shed absolutely no light on the matter.



Sadly, this article described a lady who had real concerns about whether she ought to celebrate Halloween and she was confused into thinking it was fine to ignore her conscience by an incoherent response that referenced our “standing in Christ.”



Notably, this mistake is quite common among believers today. There is little understanding regarding the distinction between our salvation by grace through faith alone, and our responsibility to live righteous and holy lives, (by faith and works), in order to be accounted worthy to stand before the Lord at his judgement seat.



How we live in in this world right now, matters a great deal to God. Even blood bought believers will give an account to God, for the things done in the body, whether they be good or bad.



Time does not allow me to explain why partaking in pagan holidays is not right for a Christian, or to discuss exactly where the line is to be drawn regarding what constitutes participating in such an activity, but I will leave you with a few thoughts:



Lest you think that God doesn’t care about something as small as partaking in a pagan holiday, please remember that God killed a believer for simply trying to catch the ark as it was about to fall (II Samuel 6:6-7.)



He also killed believers for not properly partaking of the Lord’s supper; is it possible that God disapproves of even giving the appearance of partaking in a pagan holiday? (I Corinthians 11:30, I Thessalonians 5:22)



Our Lord said we will give account for even every idle word: Is it possible that idle partaking of pagan practices might merit the same examination by God?



Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.



And finally, did God approve of these pagan customs in Ezekiel’s day described below? Or were the believers commanded to learn not the vain customs and the way of the heathen?  (And do the practices described below remind you of any holiday customs today?):



Ezekiel 10:1-4 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. There is a growing mob of migrants approaching our southern border right now. Thankfully, President Trump has ordered for 5,000 troops to secure our border and defend our nation’s sovereignty at all costs. But this is not a long term solution, we cannot reasonably expect our military to divert resources to the US-Mexican border for an extended period of time.


We need a lasting and permanent fix to our border crisis. We need a wall on the US-Mexico border, and we need it now. Caravans and migrants aren’t going to stop attempting to cross the border until we secure it once and for all.


To give you an idea of just how bad it is: over 400,000 illegal migrants have crossed the US-Mexico Border into the US this year alone!


Congress’s continued inability to secure our borders has encouraged millions to enter our country in violation of our laws and endangered our great nation’s future. It’s time for Congress to get to work and fulfill the promise of President Trump’s Border Wall.


Almost two years into Donald Trump’s Presidency and finally a bill that does exactly that has been introduced into the House of Representatives: H.R. 7073, the “50 Votes for the Wall ACT,” introduced by Representative Bradley Byrne (R-AL). This important bill would introduce a measure to use the budget reconciliation process to give the President as much as$25 billion to build the much needed border wall.


If it meets the upper chamber’s reconciliation rules, the bill would allow Senate Republicans to pass wall funding with just 50 votes instead of the normal 60 required votes – hence the name “50 Votes for the Wall Act.”


However, this bill will never make it without we the peoplemaking our voices heard in support of this crucial piece of legislation.

The so-called “populist” movement, which is condemned by the left as “racist,” “Islamophobic,” “xenophobic” and the like, has been gaining momentum in many Western countries, and now in Brazil.



While Islamic supremacists and jihadists have been expending considerable efforts to infiltrate Western countries, they have largely depended upon Leftist leaders, who have betrayed their nations in aiding and abetting these enemies of free societies. Muslim Brotherhood operatives and jihadists, although deceitful and manipulative, have long documented what their intentions were: the subversion and conquest of the House of War (infidel nations). The “duty” of jihad that must be waged by all Muslims is stipulated in the Muslim Brotherhood’s founder’s commission to followers to “prepare for jihad and be lovers of death.” That mission is obviously shared among Islamic State and al-Qaeda jihadists. The Muslim Brotherhood plan for North America, which was entered as evidence in the notorious Holy Land Foundation trial, was a stark display of the universal intention of Islamic supremacists of every stripe. Leftist leaders chose not to believe them, and go on facilitating their infiltration of free societies.



But now, along come “populists” who take a strong stand against the infiltration of free societies, and against fascist ideologies.



Italian deputy prime minister Matteo Salvini congratulated Jair Bolsonaro for his election victory in the presidential race on Sunday, celebrating that the Bazilian people had joined other nations in voting out leftist governments. ‘Even in Brazil, the citizens have sent home the left!’ the Italian Interior Minister said.



The Iranian regime has been busy exporting its jihadist ideology to “Shi’a expatriate communities while spreading Tehran’s influence in the region” of Brazil and other Latin American countries. In response, the Trump administration has been “pushing back aggressively against what the intelligence community often refers to as the ‘Iran Threat Network,’” in a campaign that has focused on Hizballah in Latin America. Back in May, Brazilian federal prosecutors charged “11 people with planning to establish an Islamic State cell in Brazil and trying to recruit jihadists to send to Syria.”



Now with news of Brazil’s elections and a new “populist” leader who won’t tolerate far-Leftists and Islamic supremacists, change is coming.

The Brazilian’s grandfather hailed from Anguillara Veneta, in Padua, northern Italy, while his maternal grandparents came from Lucca in Tuscany. Locals of Bolsonaro’s Tuscan homeland are fans of Matteo Salvini, AFP reports, and the region’s president Luca Zaia dubbed the area’s famous son as “Salvini Carioca” for his political closeness to the Italian politician.



Mr Bolsonaro won in Sunday night’s run-off against the Socialist Fernando Haddad gaining 55 percent of the vote.



Representing the right-wing Social Liberal Party (PSL) Bolsonaro, a former paratrooper, ran on a campaign of fighting corruption, getting tough on crime, and undoing the socialist policies of his predecessors — all pledges that resonated with the Brazilian people.



The 63-year-old will take office on January first, and has pledged to govern “following the Bible and the constitution” and to defend “the constitution, democracy and freedom”.



“We cannot continue flirting with socialism, communism, populism and the extremism of the left,” he added.



In mid-October, Bolsonaro had pledged to extradite Cesare Battisti, a far-leftist Italian citizen wanted for four murders committed in the 1970s, a promise of particular import to the Italian government.



Italy had repeatedly requested the extradition of Battisti, 63, who had been living in Brazil after being given protection by the country’s left-wing former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who is now serving a prison sentence for corruption.



“I reaffirm my promise to extradite the terrorist Cesare Battisti, so loved by Brazil’s left, immediately in case of election victory,” Bolsonaro had said…..

Not bad for two weeks work.



At $1 million, that comes out to around to $70K a day. I doubt that “Dr. Ford” was making that kind of money in her old job.





In fact, Ford stands to gain some $1 million and counting from national crowdfunding campaigns launched by friends and other supporters, while she is said to be fielding book offers.



The potential seven-figure windfall, which she says she intends to cash in on – while still asking donors for more money – has some questioning her motivation for accusing the conservative judge after 35 years of silence, and whether it goes beyond personal or even political justice. Others worry the largesse sets a dangerous precedent: Crowdfunding, which unlike political donations is unregulated, could be routinely used in the future as a bounty for providing political dirt on opponents.



Two GoFundMe accounts have raised more than $842,000 for Ford, and the money is still coming in weeks after she testified and left the spotlight. The total does not include a third account collecting $120,000 for an academic endowment in her name.




 And that’s on the table. We don’t know what lurks under the table.





One of Hillary Clinton’s wealthy pals paid $500,000 in an unsuccessful effort to fund women willing to accuse President Trump of sexual misconduct before the 2016 election, The New York Times reported Sunday.



Susie Tompkins Buell, the founder of Esprit Clothing and a major Clinton campaign donor for many years, gave the money to celebrity lawyer Lisa Bloom who was working with a number of Trump accusers at the time, according to the paper’s bombshell report.



Bloom solicited donors by saying she was working with women who might “find the courage to speak out” against Trump if the donors would provide funds for security, relocation and possibly a “safe house,” the paper reported.



In one case Bloom reportedly arranged for a donor to pay off one Trump accuser’s mortgage and attempted to score a six-figure payout for another woman.



The woman with the mortgage ultimately declined to come forward after being offered $750,000, The Hill reported.

Last week, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, in what has been described as a “sharp tone,” announced that he would annul an appendix to the 1994 Israeli/Jordanian peace treaty under which certain parcels of lands in the border regions –– the Naharayim (Baqura) area near the Sea of Galilee, and Zofar (al Ghamar), some 80 miles north of Eilat in the Aqaba region –– were to have been leased to Israel in perpetuity. 



Jews have farmed these lands since 1926, when the then-British Mandatory power authorized it, along with the establishment of a power station by Pinchas Rutenberg. 



However, in 1994, when Israel and Jordan concluded a peace treaty, Israel transferred these territories to Jordanian sovereignty. However, Appendix I (b) in the treaty authorized continued Israeli cultivation of these farmlands for 25 years, automatically renewable for 25-year periods “unless one year prior notice of termination is given by either Party, in which case, at the request of either Party, consultations shall be entered into.”



Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has indicated he will be taking up the matter with King Abdullah in a bid to have the termination of the lease rescinded, but Oraib Rintawi, the director of the Quds Center for Political Studies in Amman, has said, probably accurately, “Jordan cannot backtrack on this … This is a decision of the king, government and public. I do not believe there is any possibility to backtrack on this decision.”



Abdullah’s sudden and unexpected announcement, following public demonstrations in Jordan and a letter signed by 80 Jordanian legislators urging the cancellation of the appendix, illustrates two issues that are easily and indeed routinely overlooked when considering Israeli negotiations with neighboring Arab interlocutors:


    

  • The intense hostility to, and non-acceptance of, Israel by Arab societies; and 
    • 

  • The undergirding problem that bedevils all such negotiations with the Palestinian Arabs –– the inadmissibility under sharia of relinquishing lands once controlled by Muslim powers and thus deemed a waqf (a perpetual Islamic trust) to non-Muslims.
    • 




Abdullah’s decision to terminate the leases next year rather than renewing them is a strong indicator of the first. It is well-known that Abdullah has been continually pressured within Jordan to do whatever he can to distance himself from Israel and even to abrogate the entire peace treaty.



This development illustrates starkly the huge mistake that can be made when Israel makes generous concessions to an Arab party under the misapprehension that the personal friendliness of an Arab interlocutor –– in this case, the late Jordanian King Hussein –– is something that is somehow guaranteed to endure even under a stable regime.



In this case, Israel fatefully waived its claim to sovereignty, no doubt thinking its territorial generosity would help to entrench and secure the original peace agreement. 



Instead, what we now see is that another Jordanian king, who does not share the reputed friendliness of his father towards Israel and who has different priorities, can simply terminate the lease. Other than appealing to him to change his mind, it would seem that Israel has limited power to alter the Jordanian decision.



To the objection that the Israeli peace treaties with Egypt and Jordan give the lie to the assertion that secure treaties cannot be achieved with Palestinian Arab interlocutors, it bears recalling that, in both cases, neither country was required to relinquish lands once controlled by Muslims. 



To the contrary, by signing the Camp David peace treaty in 1979, Egypt secured the return to its control of the entire Sinai peninsula, giving only a chilly, mean-spirited peace in return. Egyptian President Anwar Sadat refused to countenance even the smallest territorial concession to Israel.



In the case of Jordan, Hussein was able to sign a peace with Israel because he had already relinquished his claim to the West Bank (Judea/Samaria) in favor of Yasser Arafat’s PLO, as a result of which no territorial claims were at issue. Indeed, the only land at issue seems to have been these farmlands, which the treaty secured to Jordanian sovereignty.



The issue therefore changes character when it comes to Israeli/Palestinian negotiations. Here, Israeli governments, irrespective of their political complexion, are seeking agreements which would formalize the legitimacy of Israeli control over at least some territory previously controlled by Muslim powers and thus regarded as a waqf.



Muslim governments might bow to force majeure, knowing that they cannot dislodge Israel for the present, just as they cannot dislodge Spain from Andalusia or India from Kashmir. 



These territories lost to Islam are, as it were, on the back-burner, issues to be fought another day and only the more radical Muslim movements speak of them at present or launch attacks on account of them. But the territories conquered by Israeli in 1967 are not seen in such terms and the whole world deems them to be negotiable.



Accordingly, Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority (PA), have never agreed to normalize an Israeli presence even an inch beyond the 1949 armistice lines. This is why the most generous peace proposals in 2000 and again in 2008, encompassing full Palestinian statehood, a capital in the eastern half of Jerusalem, sovereignty even over Jerusalem’s Temple Mount (Judaism’s holiest site), ten of billions of dollars in aid to resettle refugees and their descendants, and Israeli withdrawal from virtually all — but not absolutely all –– of the territory have not met even with a PA counter-offer, let alone acceptance.



King Abdullah’s announcement is a sober reminder of these realities which can only be overcome by an undoubtedly slow, gradual, global process of change and reform in Muslim society. Sadly, this means that a genuine, formalized Israeli/Palestinian peace will remain elusive for the foreseeable future.
