ISLAMIC STATE’S CALIPH AL-BAGHDADI GIVEN ISLAMIC BURIAL RITES~BUT DIDN’T EVERYONE AGREE THAT ISIS IS UNRELATED TO ISLAM?

ISLAMIC STATE’S CALIPH AL-BAGHDADI
GIVEN ISLAMIC BURIAL RITES
Wait a minute. Didn’t everyone agree he was not Muslim?

According to Reuters, “the United States has given the remains of Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi a burial at sea and afforded him religious rites according to Islamic custom after he was killed in a U.S. commando raid in Syria on Saturday.” This information came from “three officials,” all of whom “spoke on condition of anonymity,” but there is no reason to doubt it. There is ample reason, however, to wonder why it was done, since virtually everyone of influence in both parties have agreed that the Islamic State has nothing whatsoever to do with Islam.
Establishment Republican strategist Karl Rove said it on Fox News Monday: the Islamic State (ISIS) has “hijacked a great religion” and “stand in opposition to the vast majority of Muslims around the world.” Rove added that “they want to pervert a great religion.”
Rove was simply parroting the conventional wisdom. All through the Obama administration, the main concern of the President and his underlings was not to counter the Islamic State’s advance, but to deny that it had anything to do with Islam. On August 20, 2014, speaking a day after the Islamic State beheaded American journalist James Foley, Obama declared that “ISIL [his preferred acronym for the Islamic State] speaks for no religion. Their victims are overwhelmingly Muslim, and no faith teaches people to massacre innocents. No just god would stand for what they did yesterday and what they do every single day. ISIL has no ideology of any value to human beings. Their ideology is bankrupt. They may claim out of expediency that they are at war with the United States or the West, but the fact is they terrorize their neighbors and offer them nothing but an endless slavery to their empty vision and the collapse of any definition of civilized behavior.”
This became administration policy: “ISIL does not operate in the name of any religion,” said Obama State Department spokesperson Marie Harf not long after that. “The president has been very clear about that, and the more we can underscore that, the better.”
Hillary Clinton summed up the guiding philosophy here when she tweeted during her 2016 presidential campaign: “Let’s be clear: Islam is not our adversary. Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people and have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism.” Not just ISIS, but all Muslims. And current Democrat front-runner has insisted that “ISIS has nothing to do with Islam.”
These confident assertions are bipartisan, and that isn’t just restricted to Rove. On September 17, 2001, President George W. Bush appeared at the Islamic Center of Washington, D.C., in the company of several prominent Muslim leaders, and said: “These acts of violence against innocents violate the fundamental tenets of the Islamic faith. And it’s important for my fellow Americans to understand that….The face of terror is not the true faith of Islam. That’s not what Islam is all about. Islam is peace. These terrorists don’t represent peace. They represent evil and war.”
The idea that the Islamic State is not Islamic and that Islamic jihadists are twisting and hijacking Islam is the standard and dominant perspective in the State Department, which was probably responsible for the decision to give al-Baghdadi Islamic burial rites. So why was this decision made? If the Islamic State has nothing whatsoever to do with Islam, then al-Baghdadi was not a Muslim at all.
But if the State Department realizes that al-Baghdadi was indeed a Muslim, as this decision to bury him with Islamic rites indicates, then everything Bush, Obama, and a host of others have told us all these years is false. And indeed it is. The UK’s Daily Mail reported Monday that Mohammed Ali Sajet, “one of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s closest confidants” who “is related to Baghdadi via marriage and has been an ISIS member since 2015, described al-Baghdadi’s hideout this way: “He was in an 8-meter-long underground tunnel with a width of 5 to 6 meters. It had a library, religious books and the Quran and things of sort.”
What? The man had a library full of the Qur’an and other Islamic books in his hideout? Didn’t he know that ISIS had nothing whatsoever to do with Islam?
The State Department needs to get its story straight. Either al-Baghdadi was not a Muslim, but a “hijacker” of Islam, in which case he should not have been buried with Islamic rites, or he was indeed a Muslim, in which case the counterintelligence analysts who have been dismissed, marginalized, and reviled as “bigots” for noting Islam’s connection to terrorism should be brought in from the cold. But the latter possibility is only likely to happen if there is a sea change in the Department, and realism introduced where today fantasy holds sway. That change is not on the horizon.

 U. Minnesota named one of the “Top Ten Colleges that Promote Jew Hatred and Incite Terrorism.”

In a stealth campaign to reach students directly, the David Horowitz Freedom Center today distributed 2000 newspapers containing its new report on the “Top Ten Colleges that Promote Jew Hatred and Incite Terrorism” as well as posters condemning the Hamas-funded BDS movement against Israel on the University of Minnesota campus. The University of Minnesota is one of the schools named in the report.

The newspaper distribution coincides with the National Students for Justice in Palestine Conference, a highly controversial event known for promoting Jew hatred and anti-Israel terrorism, which will take place this weekend at the University of Minnesota.

Titled “From Campus to Congress: Allied with Terror,” the report documents the malignant spread of Jew hatred in our nation’s academic institutions. “Jew hatred is no longer solely the purview of academic outliers, those institutions known for radical activism and absurdist teachings,” the report explains. “The Jew hatred promoted by Hamas through its front group Students for Justice in Palestine has now trickled down to infect less typically activist campuses in the heartland—including the University of Minnesota which will host this year’s National Students for Justice in Palestine conference.”

A poster included in the pages of each newspaper highlights the role that Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, whose district includes the University of Minnesota, has played in promoting the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel. The poster features images of Rep. Omar and Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, accompanied by a notorious tweet from Omar stating “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.” The caption above this image states “BDS: Finishing the Work that Hitler Started.” These same posters were also hung in public locations on the Minnesota campus.

“For nearly two decades, SJP has promoted Hamas lies and propaganda in order to establish a beachhead of support for anti-Israel terrorists on American campuses, resulting in a dramatic rise in anti-Semitic incidents and the harassment of Jewish students,” said David Horowitz, founder of the Freedom Center. “
“American universities like the University of Minnesota allow these terrorist allies to use their authority and prestige to lend this genocidal offensive an aura of respectability,” Horowitz continued. “Our campaign intends to expose SJP and other supporters of BDS as fronts for Hamas and to press universities to cease their funding and support of these organizations.”

The David Horowitz Freedom Center, founded in 1988, is a not-for-profit organization located in Sherman Oaks, California. The Center’s mission is to defend free societies like America and Israel, which are under attack by totalitarians both religious and secular, domestic and foreign.

“Shock as Merkel donates half a billion dollars in aid to Palestinian president, paying terrorists to kill Jews,” The Politics Online via Searchlight Germany, October 27, 2019:
At the joint press conference…Chancellor Angela Merkel said: “We are now the largest bilateral donors in the Palestinian territories.” According to Germany’s Bild news, the federal government announced that in 2018 about 166.2 million euros flowed to the Palestinians. In addition, Germany transferred about 173.2 million euros to UNRWA, a UN agency for Palestinian Muslims.
Throughout her years as Chancellor, Angela Merkel gave the Palestinian Authority more than half a billion dollars, not including foreign aid to UNRWA.
The Palestinian Authority openly pays salaries to every terrorist who murdered Jews as an act of jihad.
In newly released documents, the Palestinian Authority confesses that in the first 5 months of 2019, it paid 234,000,000 shekels (over $65 million/€58 million) in salaries to terrorists. This is a rise of over 11% compared to 2018.
In calendar year 2018, the Trump Administration has significantly cut funding for the Palestinians including $231.532 million economic assistance and $424.3 million to UNRWA (UN agency in Gaza and Ramallah)….

Note that this story was reported before the death of Islamic State caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The al-Hawl camp is home to 68,000 Islamic State families. It is same camp in which infamous Islamic State bride Shamima Begum was discovered. She was part of the rifle toting morality police, but was made out by her defenders to be a victim. Most important to note in this story is just how dangerous and as sinister as their male counterparts, Islamic State brides are, while social justice warriors fight for their return, painting them to be victims of their jihadist husbands. The Sun reported:
Female members of ISIS’ morality police al-Hisbah have unleashed a reign of terror within the Syrian camp by enforcing the terrorist group’s radical laws upon the population.
Their actions include “ slaughtering babies and dousing guards in petrol,” and not only guards, but women, too:
Aylul Rizgar, 30, is the camp’s senior administrator and has been repeatedly threatened with decapitation.
She told The Times: “I have lost count of the number of times the women here have told me that when Islamic State returns they’ll cut my head off and put it on a pole.”
She has also been attacked by a mum and her two daughters who bit her and doused her in petrol.
In another testimony that further demonstrates the level of danger that Islamic State brides pose to the West, a teen sex slave, Muna, described the cruelty and viciousness of Islamic States brides as she spoke of the capture of American aid worker Kayla Mueller.
Yazidi schoolgirl Muna revealed al-Baghdadi was so terrified his other wives would discover he had taken the American aid worker as his bride he banished her to prison.
The 26-year-old was held captive at the home of his deputy Abu Sayaff …..
When they first captured Kayla, ISIS fighters pulled her nails out…..She was forced to convert to Islam.
She [Muna] said al-Baghdadi had feared his wives reaction to Kayla as they were “worse than” him.
“The wives were always worse than al-Baghdadi…They were always telling the children that they were lazy and beating them…”
Pari Ibrahim, executive director of the Free Yezidi Foundation, warns that Islamic State brides are “not innocent bystanders.” She states:
“There has been no effort to understand why these ISIS brides are guilty…In some cases, [the wives] would lock our Yazidi women in the houses so they could not escape. They would force them to do manual labor, humiliate them in captivity; they were beaten and tortured by the ISIS wives.”
The dilemma of what to do with Islamic State brides and their caliphate cubs remains. Islamic State jihadists are enemy combatants, brutes and abusers of the worst kind, and their brides are no better; caution should be employed in considerations of whether they should be repatriated back to the West, which they view as enemy territory, not as their “home.”
“ISIS takes ‘full control’ of al-Hawl camp slaughtering babies and dousing guards in petrol as they vow to restart jihad,” by Alahna Kindred, The Sun, October 24, 2019:
ISIS has taken control of the Al-Hawl camp and has wasted no time slaughtering babies and dousing guards in petrol, it has been reported.
Female members of ISIS’ morality police al-Hisbah have unleashed a reign of terror within the Syrian camp by enforcing the terrorist group’s radical laws upon the population.
Al-Hisbah have ordered attacks against guards, burnt down tents, dismembered bodies, doused women in petrol and have smuggled guns into the camp as ISIS vowed to restart their jihad.
The number of jihadists escaping the camp has skyrocketed and those who are recaptured have admitted to wanting to join the Turkish-backed Islamic militants.
Al-Hawl is home to 68,000 ISIS family members after they fled the jihadists’ last stand in Baghouz earlier this year.
Among its residents include 10,100 foreign citizens, including 18 British women and children – and was where ISIS bride Shamima Begum was found in February…..

DRAG QUEEN FLASHES CHILDREN DURING STORY HOUR

Child protection group accuses library of failing to carry out background check.

A drag queen accidentally flashed children a glimpse of his crotch during a ‘Drag Queen Story Hour’ event in Hennepin County, Minnesota.
The performer, known as Sasha Sosa, was reading to children at Hennepin County Library when the incident was caught on camera.
Child Protection League Action posted a series of images from the event asserting that they represented taxpayer funded “debauchery and sexual grooming.”
According to the group, Sosa is aged 18 or 19 and regularly performs at strip clubs alongside ‘Gemini Valentine’, who was also present at the library wearing a revealing leotard.
The Hennepin County Library also reportedly failed to carry out a background check on the pair before the event.
The exposure of children to sexual themes at such events has caused fury amongst many conservatives.
Earlier this year we reported on photos showing young children lying on top of a drag queen during a ‘Drag Queen Story Time’ event in Portland.
One of the participants at a Drag Queen Story Time event in Houston, 32-year-old Albert Garza, later turned out to be a registered sex offender who was convicted of assaulting an 8-year-old boy in 2008.
However, according to neo-con columnist David French, Drag Queen Story Time is “one of the blessings of liberty.”

BIDEN’S NEW SUPER PAC IS FRONTED BY A REGISTERED FOREIGN AGENT LOBBYING FOR AZERBAIJAN~BIDEN FLIP-FLOPS ON “BIG MONEY INFLUENCE” HE PREVIOUSLY REPUDIATED

NOW ACCEPTABLE FOR BIDEN

BIDEN’S NEW SUPER PAC IS FRONTED BY A REGISTERED FOREIGN AGENT LOBBYING FOR AZERBAIJAN
BY JAMES MURPHY
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
A registered foreign agent for the government of Azerbaijan is in charge of the money for a new Super PAC which looks to assist Democrat candidate Joe Biden in his bid for the presidency in 2020. In its Statement of Organization, the new committee, called Unite the Country, lists Larry Rasky as the treasurer.
The Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) of 1938 requires that any agent representing the interests of a foreign government disclose that relationship, along with pertinent information about their activities and finances. Records on file at the Department of Justice show that Rasky, along with his company Rasky Partners, is a foreign agent lobbying on behalf of Azerbaijan.
According to the employment agreement, which is included in the Justice Department documents, Rasky was employed by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Services provided by Rasky to Azerbaijan included, “strategic communication counsel and services.” Also included in the scope of Rasky’s duties were “public relations services and support.” The initial contract was set to run from April 29 of this year until October 28, with both parties having the option to extend it by mutual agreement.
In his contract with Azerbaijan, Rasky and his company received $94,500 per month for his work for the country.
Rasky has worked on Biden’s two previous presidential runs as an aide. Unite the Country will purportedly infuse Biden’s 2020 campaign with millions of dollars in spending.
Politico reports that Rasky has previously assisted the current Biden campaign by asking donors to send checks made out to “Biden for President” to the offices of Rasky Partners located in Boston.
The new Super PAC represents a reversal for Biden, who has previously stated that he opposed accepting that type of support, a fact that Rasky himself pointed out in a fundraising e-mail sent to donors.
“Because Joe will not work with a Super PAC or take PAC money for his campaign, everyone is limited to $2,800 as a maximum gift,” Rasky wrote in April. “That will require a lot of work and a lot of checks to finance a presidential campaign effort.”
Back in August, Politico also reported that Rasky may have been involved in the nebulous purchase of hedge fund Paradigm Global Advisors by Biden’s son Hunter and his younger brother James in 2006.
According to Politico: “James and Hunter brought in Larry Rasky, a lobbyist and longtime Biden adviser, who at one point, according to court records, was going to provide $1 million in financing.” Rasky has neither confirmed nor denied his involvement with that purchase.
Azerbaijan is not the only country that Rasky has lobbied on behalf of. His firm has previously worked for a political party in Bangladesh until January of this year. A previous company fronted by Rasky, Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications, represented foreign interests in  JapanHungaryCongo, and Serbia.
It’s important to note that Rasky’s involvement with those foreign entities is not illegal. It is, however, very interesting when you consider the accusations that Joe Biden used his influence as vice president in the Obama administration to interfere with the internal politics of foreign nations — a fact that Biden himself admitted at a Council on Foreign Relations event in 2018. Biden threatened Ukrainian officials with withholding a billion dollars in aid if a prosecutor, who was reportedly investigating his son Hunter’s involvement with a Ukrainian energy company, wasn't fired.
“I looked at them and said, “I’m leaving in six hours,” the former vice-president remembered. “If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money. Well, son-of-a- b**ch. He got fired.”
While Democrats in the House of Representatives look to impeach President Donald Trump based on a phone call with the president of Ukraine — in which they imagine Trump was threatening to withhold aid from the country unless an investigation was opened into Hunter Biden’s dealings with a Ukrainian energy company — Joe Biden is on record actually admitting to such activity.
Joe Biden portrays himself as a “man of the people.” But his associations and actions show him to be something else entirely. Biden has shown his proclivity to use his position of influence to enrich his family, if not himself. He is the embodiment of the corruption that the Democrats are accusing Trump of.
As for Rasky, with his history of working for foreign governments, the question must be asked, Considering that his super PAC is called Unite the Country, which country is he looking to unite?"

Super PAC to Fund Biden’s Campaign Following Another Biden Flip-flop

BY BOB ADELMANN
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
Just when big Democrat donors were about to write off the 2020 presidential campaign, along comes Biden’s pal, Larry Rasky, to pull Joe Biden’s languishing campaign from the brink. On Tuesday Rasky filed the paperwork creating a new Super PAC called “Unite the Country” and brought in some heavy hitters to join him in the rescue effort.
Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden (shown) had denounced (along with Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and others) “big money influence” in politics but, no doubt out of desperation, changed his mind last week. In explaining the flip-flop, Biden’s campaign spokeswoman Kate Bedingfield put on the best spin she could:
Donald Trump has decided that the general election has already begun. In this time of political crisis, it is not surprising that those who are dedicated to defeating Donald Trump are organizing in every way permitted by current law to bring an end to his disastrous presidency.
Biden himself tried to put some distance between Rasky’s filing and his previous campaign promises to eliminate “big money” influence in politics if he were elected president. In an interview with MSNBC, Biden called Rasky’s move a “grassroots response” to his campaign’s financial difficulties, as though he knew nothing about the move until Rasky’s filing. Said Biden, “This is an understandable response from Democrats who desperately do not want to see [Trump] re-elected president. My guess is they [those guys over there with whom I have nothing to do and who are doing this entirely on their own without any support from me] would have done the same thing for anybody who was attacked in the Democratic primary if they were leading.”
This is a canard of the first order. Rasky, currently the CEO of lobbying firm Rasky Partners, served in Biden’s two previous presidential quests in 1997 and in 2008. In 1988, he served as Biden’s press secretary while in 2007 in joined Biden’s campaign as its communications director.
Joining Rasky are other Democrat operatives with links to previous Biden efforts to gain the White House. Steve Schale, a political strategist in Florida, was hired by the “Obama for America” campaign in 2008. In 2015, Schale helped Draft Biden, a Super PAC supporting a potential presidential bid by Biden.
Julianna Smoot has also joined Rasky’s rescue team. She served as deputy manager of Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign, raising more money for that campaign than any other such campaign in U.S. history. In the past she held similar positions for Democrat Senator Richard Durbin of Illinois, Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia, Chris Dodd of Connecticut, and Harry Reid of Nevada.
To imply that Biden knew nothing about the movement to save his foundering presidential campaign from a third ignominious disaster is typical Biden strategy, using “plausible deniability” to explain his flip-flop.
That reversal has outraged Biden’s rivals. Bernie Sanders’ campaign manager, Faiz Shakir, declared that since “the former vice president has been unable to generate grassroots support … his campaign is endorsing an effort to buy the primary through a super PAC that can rake in unlimited cash from billionaires and corporations.”
Those billionaires and corporations are going to have to get busy writing big checks to catch up to the Trump campaign. Biden’s campaign cupboard is bare while the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee are sitting on $156 million in the bank and that’s after already paying for several million dollars’ worth of ads criticizing Biden in the early voting states.
Elizabeth Warren’s brief lead at the head of the pack in recent polling was short-lived. In the last 10 days, she has bested Biden in just one of the six polls taken, leaving her an average, according to Real Clear Politics, of nearly six percentage points behind Biden, with Sanders a distant third at 10 points behind Biden.
With the likely insertion of millions of dollars of desperately needed funds into the nearly moribund Biden campaign, it is likely that his lead will at least be maintained if not widened going into the first of the Democrat primaries early next year.

Franklin Graham is following closely in his famous father’s footsteps, which, sadly, have led further from the Bible with each passing decade. In 1996, Franklin was named the first vice-chairman of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association; in 2000, CEO, and in 2001, president. Billy Graham died in 2018.

Franklin Graham told the
Indianapolis Star that his father’s ecumenical alliance with the Catholic Church and all other denominations “was one of the smartest things his father ever did” (“Keeping it simple, safe keeps Graham on high, ”The Indianapolis Star, Thurs., June 3, 1999, p. H2).

He said: “In the early years, up in Boston, the Catholic church got behind my father’s crusade. That was a first. It took back many Protestants. They didn’t know how to handle it. But it set the example. ‘If Billy Graham is willing to work with everybody, then maybe we should too’” (
The Indianapolis Star, June 3, 1999).

Franklin Graham’s ecumenical direction is evident from the various forums he frequents, the same ones attended by his father. In 1997, for example, he spoke at the National Religious Broadcasters in January, at Moody Bible Institute’s Founder’s Week in February, and at a Promise Keepers conference in Birmingham, Alabama, in May. That was at a time when one of the directors of Promise Keepers was a Roman Catholic.

Franklin’s 1998 crusade in Adelaide, Australia, left no question about his direction. Present at the media launch for the crusade were Catholic Archbishop Leonard Faulkner and Anglican Archbishop Ian George. The
Festival South Australia News said, “The Archbishops agreed that Festival SA with Franklin Graham next January would be the greatest event the churches have seen in this State’s history.” Almost 400 churches registered for Graham’s Christian Life & Witness Course which was conducted in preparation for the crusade. Twenty-three denominations were represented. The churches included 49 Roman Catholic (false grace plus works gospel), 82 Uniting Church (ultra liberal), 30 Churches of Christ (baptismal regeneration), 25 Anglican (mostly liberal), 1 Greek Orthodox (sacramental gospel), and 3 Seventh-day Adventist (Ellen White is a prophetess, death is only sleep, and punishment in hell is not eternal).

These churches, taken as a whole, represent a hodgepodge of apostasy and doctrinal error. God plainly forbids His people to yoke together with such confusion. “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds” (2 John 9-11).

The Uniting Church in Australia is very modernistic and apostate. The Uniting Church in Paddington, Australia, for example, recently placed a 12-foot-square banner over its entrance declaring that the church is a SAFE PLACE for homosexuals, a place they are accepted and can be open “about their sexuality” (
Australian Beacon, Feb. 1998, p. 2). The Paddington Uniting Church’s pastor, Rod Pattenden, told the media, “We want to let gays and lesbians know that they are very welcome in this parish.” He said that at least one-third of Paddington’s Eastside Parish is made up of homosexuals.

The Roman Catholic Church is a false “church” with a false gospel (grace plus works, faith plus sacraments), a false authority (the Bible plus Catholic tradition), and a false head (the pope). The New Catholic Catechism says: “The Church affirms that for believers the sacraments of the New Covenant are necessary for salvation” (1129). Our book
Evangelicals and Rome reviews Catholic heresies which were reaffirmed by the Vatican II Council and the New Catholic Catechism.

Those who responded to the Gospel invitation at the Franklin Graham crusade were sent to the aforementioned sponsoring churches for “discipleship.” Thus we again have the strange sight of a supposed shepherd happily and willfully giving his sheep into the hands of wolves. This is the most spiritually-doctrinally confused hour which the world has ever seen.

The Vice-Chairman for the Franklin Graham Festival in Lubbock, Texas, April 28-30, 2000, was Paul Key, evangelism director for the Catholic Diocese of Lubbock. At least three of the local leaders for the “festival” are Charismatics. The Chairman was Rick Canup, an elder at Trinity Church, a charismatic congregation which formerly had ties with the Assemblies of God. The pastor of this church, Gary Kirksey, was also on the Executive Committee. Pastor Jackie White of the Charismatic Church on the Rock was another of the Vice-Chairmen (E.L. Bynum, “Franklin Graham Festival,”
Plains Baptist Challenger, April 2000, p. 1). Paul Key was a Presbyterian minister for 18 years before converting to Catholicism. He has written a book entitled “95 Reasons for Becoming and Remaining a Catholic.”

Roman Catholics participated in Franklin Graham Festivals in Corpus Christi, Texas, in 2005, and in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 2004 (“Central Canada 2006 Franklin Graham Festival Background and Pastoral Notes for Catholic Clergy and Workers,” by Luis Melo, Director of Ecumenical and Inter-Religious Affairs, Archdiocese of Saint Boniface, n.d.).

Many Roman Catholics were trained as counselors for the Franklin Graham Festival in Baltimore, Maryland, July 7-9, 2006. Catholic priest Erik Arnold of the Church of the Crucifixion in Glen Burnie, Maryland, led the team of 225 Catholics who participated in the crusade. He said, “It was a great opportunity for the Christian churches to show their unity in leading people to Christ” (“Catholic Counselors Attend Billy Graham Festival,”
The Catholic Review, July 12, 2006). The Graham organization delivered the names of 300 people to the Roman Catholics for “follow up,” and these received a letter from Cardinal William Keller “encouraging them in their faith and inviting them to get involved in the church.” They will be taught, among a multitude of other heresies, that it is acceptable to pray to Mary. In fact, some of the counselors are from the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Baltimore.

Roman Catholics also participated in the Franklin Graham Festival in Winnipeg, Canada, in October 2006. The previous year the Graham team approached the Catholic bishops in Winnipeg soliciting their support and involvement (“Central Canada 2006 Franklin Graham Festival Background and Pastoral Notes for Catholic Clergy and Workers,” by Luis Melo, Director of Ecumenical and Inter-Religious Affairs, Archdiocese of Saint Boniface, n.d.). In response, each archdiocese in central Canada had official representation on the Festival Executive Committee, and various parishes provided workers to be trained as counselors and to provide follow up. The Catholics were told: “Following in the footsteps of his father, Franklin Graham will present basic Christianity. The Catholic will hear no slighting of the Church’s teaching on Mary or authority, nor of papal or Episcopal prerogative; no word against the Mass/Divine Liturgy or sacraments, nor of Catholic practices or customs” (Ibid.).

In an interview with Katie Couric on NBC television on April 2, 2005, Franklin Graham praised the late Pope John Paul II and claimed that they preach the same gospel. Graham said: “We disagree on a lot of doctrinal issues and I guess those disagreements will always be there. At the same time we did agree on the fundamentals that Jesus Christ is the son of the living God who came to this earth to die for our sins and when he died on that cross and shed his blood he took the sins of the world with him on the cross; and if we confess our sins and repent and by faith receive Christ into our hearts God will forgive us and cleanse us. These are fundamentals of the faith we agreed on and support and we appreciate this man and the stand he has taken on so many of these moral issues.”

We are glad that Franklin believes and preaches the gospel described in this testimony (apart from the “receiving Christ into the heart” part, which is not scriptural), but he seriously misrepresented the Pope’s gospel. The late Pope believed that the doctrine of salvation by grace alone through Christ alone by faith alone is heresy (the anathemas of the Council of Trent against the gospel of grace alone have never been rescinded). He believed that the sacraments are a necessary part of salvation, beginning with baptism, whereby one is born again, continuing in Confirmation, whereby one receives the Holy Spirit. Speaking at the confirmation of 800 young people at Turin, Italy, Sept. 2, 1988, Pope John Paul II said: “Jesus comes close to us; he enters our history precisely by means of these concrete, visible sacramental signs. … Confirmation is your personal Pentecost. Today you receive the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, who on the day of Pentecost was sent by the risen Lord upon the Apostles. Every baptized person as a believer needs to receive the moment and mystery of Pentecost; it completes and perfects the gift of Baptism” (
L’osservatore Romano, N. 38, Sept. 19, 1988, p. 16). Nine days later, speaking in Harare, John Paul II said to the crowd gathered in Borrowdale Park: “You have thus become a new people, reborn in the Sacrament of Baptism, nourished by the Holy Eucharist, living in loving communion with God and with one another with the Successor of Peter and the Catholic Church throughout the world” (Ibid., p. 2).

In an April 5, 2005, appearance on
Hannity & Colmes on the Fox News television network, Franklin Graham was asked the following question by Sean Hannity (who is Roman Catholic): “Let me ask you this, what are some of the disagreements — we only have 30 seconds this segment — between, say, Catholicism and evangelical Christians? Or is it just more that you agree on than disagree on?” Graham replied: “Well, there are a lot of doctrinal issues that we disagree on. But the things that we do agree on are the cross, that Jesus Christ was the son of the living God who went to the cross, took our sins, died on that cross, was buried on the third day, according to the scriptures, rose again. And this is the essence. This is what we agree on and we can work together on and can build on.”

It is commendable for Graham to preach the Gospel on television, and I understand that he had limited time (although his time on the show did not end with that segment) and wanted to focus on the Gospel; but that does not excuse the fact that his reply was artful, erroneous, and dangerous. It was artful in that he refused to state any of Rome’s serious doctrinal heresies. It was erroneous because he said the Roman Catholic Church believes in the cross and salvation the same way that “evangelicals” do, which it certainly does not. This erroneous statement would have given Graham’s Roman Catholic listeners a false sense of security in their faith-works-sacraments gospel. Graham’s statement was dangerous because he said that evangelicals and Catholics need to work together and build on their agreements, whereas the Bible commands God’s people to separate from heresy and apostasy (e.g., Rom. 16:17; 2 Tim. 3:5) and an unscriptural unity plays more into the hands of the antichrist than Christ.

Franklin Graham not only praised the late Pope, he attended the coronation of the new one. Speaking on
Larry King Live, April 2, 2005, Billy Graham said: “I don’t have the physical strength to go, and I have been invited. I was invited about six or seven months ago by the Vatican ahead of time. And they’ve asked that I come. So I’m asking my daughter, Anne Lotz, to go [to Pope John Paul II’s funeral]. … And then my son, Franklin, will be going to the enthronement of the new Pope [Benedict XVI].”

In 2014, Franklin Graham held a Festival of Hope in Warsaw, Poland, and preached at Christ the King Cathedral in Katowice. Graham was joined in this radical ecumenism by Michael W. Smith, Tommy Coomes Band, and the Newsboys.

More than any other one man, Billy Graham paved the way for the widespread acceptance of a Catholic Pope by Protestants and Baptists. Graham’s groundbreaking ecumenical evangelism, which downplayed doctrine and exalted experiential religious unity, stretches back more than half a century.

Though more outspoken than his famous father in some respects, Franklin is walking in this same disobedient path in the ecumenical realm.

TURKISH CALIPHATE & NATO DICTATOR ERDOGAN LAUDS KORANIC HARSHNESS TOWARD NON-MUSLIMS URGING KORANIC CONQUEST

Notwithstanding any limited “support” Turkey may (or may not) have provided the successful U.S. raid which liquidated ISIS’s al-Baghdadi, Turkish President Erdogan made some revealing, indeed pathognomonic remarks, during last Friday’s (10/25/19) prayers in Istanbul’s Great Camlica Mosque.
A Turkish writer in exile who is a very fluent, gifted Turkish to English translator, translated (below) the triumphal report by Yeni Akit, an outlet enamored of the Turkish President and his traditionalist Islamic political party, the AKP.
On October 25, Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the Friday prayers at the Great Çamlıca Mosque in Istanbul. He was accompanied by Istanbul’s governor Ali Yerlikaya, mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, Istanbul’s chief of police Mustafa Çalışkan and the head of the Istanbul branch of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), Bayram Şenocak.   After the Friday prayers, hafiz İshak Danış recited from the Koran Sura Al-Fath (which means “victory, triumph, conquest” in English, Koran 48:29“Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah ; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves.” ). Then Erdogan took the microphone, reciting a part of the verse in Arabic and then in Turkish. He told the congregants: “My dear brothers. First of all, I congratulate your holy Friday. The Koranic verses that Danış just recited commands us to be violent towards the kuffar (infidels). Who are we? The ummah [nation] of Mohammed. So [the Koran] also commands us to be merciful to each other. So we will be merciful to each other. And we will be violent to the kuffar. Like in Syria.” Erdogan then went on to refer to another Koranic verse (61:13: “And [you will obtain] another [favor] that you love – victory from Allah and an imminent conquest; and give good tidings to the believers.”)  in Arabic: “Inshallah, God has promised us in Syria (in Turkish): ‘Nasrun minallahi ve fethun karib ve beşşiril mu’minin.’ [‘Victory from Allah and an imminent conquest; and give good tidings to the believers.’]. We see it is happening right now. With the permission of Allah, we will see it even more. I will meet some presidents of foreign countries at the Dolmabahce Palace today. I ask for your permission now to go there.”
Authoritative Koranic commentaries—classical and modern—as well as canonical hadith, traditions of Islam’s prophet Muhammad, support Erdogan’s hateful and predatory views toward non-Muslims.
The Egyptian polymath al-Suyuti (d. 1505) was recognized as a brilliant jurist, historian, and biographer, among whose many scholarly contributions are about twenty works of Koranic studies, including seminal Koranic commentaries. Suytui’s Tafsir al-Jalalayn (co-written with his mentor al-Mahalli), as the great contemporary Dutch Islamologist Johannes J.G. Jansen (d. 2015) noted in his treatise “The Interpretation of the Koran in Modern Egypt,”  remains one of the most popular as well as the most authoritative Koranic commentaries in Egypt. Maulana Muhammad Shafi (d.1976), was a former grand mufti of India (prior to the August, 1947 partition), and author of Maariful Quran, which remains the best-known Koranic commentary in Urdu, and a major, influential modern interpretation of the Koran. Shafi also wrote more than three hundred books, and in addition to these literary works, broadcasted tafsir of the Koran on Radio Pakistan for a number of years.
Below are the authoritative glosses by al-Suyuti, and Shafi on Koran 48:29, and 61:13, respectively:
(Suyuti; 48:29): “Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with him—his Companions among the believers (Muslims)—are fierce to the unbelievers, and do not show mercy on them, merciful to one another—gentle with one another, and showing mutual love as between parents and their children.”
(Suyuti; 61:13): “And He (Allah) will give you other blessings in the things you love: support from Allah and imminent victory. Give good news to the believers (Muslims)—of victory and conquest.”
(Shafi; 48:29): “The first quality of the Companions mentioned here is that they are hard against the unbelievers, and merciful to one another. It was proven time and again that they were harsh against the unbelievers. They sacrificed all their ethnic and tribal relations for the sake of Islam. This was especially demonstrated on the occasion of Hudaibiyah….In a Hadith, the Holy Prophet has said, ‘He who loves for the sake of Allah and hates for the sake of Allah has attained the highest degree of faith’”
(Shafi; 61:13) “There is one blessing that will be granted right here in this world, which is the Divine help and an imminent victory, that is, conquests of enemy territories….it would include all later Islamic conquests of Arab and non-Arab territories.”
The canonical hadith (Sunan Abu Dawud 4681; p. 200)  cited in part by Shafi from his gloss on Koran 48:29, reads in full:
“It was narrated from Abu Umamah, that the Messenger of Allah, said, ‘Whoever loves for the sake of Allah and hates for the sake of Allah, gives for the sake of Allah, and withholds for the sake of Allah, he will have perfected his faith.’ ”
By Islamic consensus, The Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute For Islamic Thought / The Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre, Amman, Jordan has defined, and epitomizes, “mainstream Islam.” Each year, this authoritative, mainstream international Islamic organization puts out the “The Muslim 500—The World’s 500 Most Influential Muslims.” The major aims of this mainstream Islamic organization, per its 2007 Charter, are:
  • “to protect, preserve and propagate traditional, orthodox, ‘moderate’ Islam as defined by the international Islamic Consensus on the ‘Three Points of the Amman Message’ arrived at over the years 2005-2006.”
  • “to spread knowledge of the ‘Amman Message’ of November 2004 and the principles it contains in so far as these best represent traditional, orthodox, ‘moderate’ Islam.”
  • “to establish, propagate and publicize the religious and legal positions of traditional, orthodox, ‘moderate’ Islam on key issues relevant to life in the modern world.”
Acknowledging his stature in Islamdom, and apropos to the RISSC’s own stated commitment to “traditional, orthodox, ‘moderate’ Islam,” Erdogan is ranked #1—the most influential Muslim—in the 2019 The Muslim 500. Turkish President Erdogan’s rather glowing The Muslim 500 profile, notes,
Erdogan was the Prime Minister of Turkey, for 11 years, winning three consecutive elections with a majority (2002, 2007 and 2011), before becoming Turkey’s first popularly-elected president in August 2014, and then securing a second term in the 2018 election.
His 2019 profile adds, almost rapturously,
Erdogan secured 52.5% of the vote in the 2018 Presidential election (electoral turnout was 86%), and thereby avoided a second round runoff. This was a continuation of his remarkable popularity and success at the ballot box over the past two decades…During his terms, Turkey has seen unprecedented economic growth, constitutional reform, and re-emergence as a global Muslim power.
Thus, not only do Erdogan’s Koranic invocations sanctioning harshness towards non-Muslims and their jihad conquest, comport with their authoritative glosses, the Turkish President himself is revered by the mainstream. Global Muslim Umma.

OPENLY HOMOSEXUAL MALE ACTOR TO PLAY “FAIRY GODMOTHER” IN UPCOMING LIVE ACTION “CINDERELLA” MOVIE

OPENLY HOMOSEXUAL MALE ACTOR TO PLAY
“FAIRY GODMOTHER” IN UPCOMING LIVE ACTION “CINDERELLA” MOVIE
BY HEATHER CLARK
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
Openly homosexual actor Billy Porter, known for his role in the FX series “Pose” — which reportedly is comprised of “the largest cast of transgender … and LGBTQ actors in television history” — has been selected to play the role of the fairy godmother in the upcoming Sony live-action remake of the Disney tale “Cinderella.”
According to reports, the film, being co-produced by comedian and talk show host James Corden, will be a musical modern retelling of the 1950’s tale, in which a beautiful young girl who wants to go to the ball but faces obstacles from her wicked stepmother and jealous stepsisters, who treat her harshly. A magical “fairy godmother” soon appears and helps Cinderella’s wish come true, but with the notation that the transformation will only last until midnight.
“Salagadoola mechicka boola/Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo,” the fairy sings while waving her magic wand.
Filming for the updated children’s classic is set to begin in February in London, with Idina Menzel of the likewise magic-themed “Frozen” — and also the Broadway plays “Rent” and “Wicked” — starring as the wicked stepmother, and singer Camilla Cabello taking the lead role as Cinderella.
Porter, who is “married” to another man, was selected to play the fairy godmother, confirming the news to reporters earlier this month.
Porter won an Emmy last month for “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series” for his role as Pray Tell in FX’s “Pose,” remarking during his speech, “We, as artists, are the people that get to change the molecular structure of the hearts and minds of the people on this planet. Don’t ever forget that.”
The broadcast centers on drag ballroom culture in the 1980s and 90s, with the struggle of AIDS often running through the story line.
“Upon receiving an HIV positive diagnosis, Blanca Rodriguez is forced to confront her mortality and dedicates herself to leaving a legacy. With the encouragement of her friend Pray Tell, the fierce patriarch and emcee of the house balls, Blanca … starts her very own ‘house,’ a self-selected family that provides support to LGBTQ youth rejected by their birth families,” an outline of the show reads.
Porter told PEOPLE in August prior to receiving his award that he had difficulty at first finding his place in the entertainment industry.
“I wasn’t having a great time living up to the hetero-normative masculinity standard to get the straight male work,” Porter said. “So I wasn’t really working in film and television. And it was just frustrating, you know? It was just frustrating to sort of feel ignored and feel dismissed, and dismissed for even the flamboyant things.”
In February, Porter wall a long, flowing ball gown to the Oscars, and in June, he donned a red and pink jacket with a train similar to that of a wedding gown. The garment was stated to have been made, in part, from the curtains used in the Broadway musical “Kinky Boots.”
“Hunties, the Tony Awards just got gayer!” Porter wrote on Instagram. “Thank you to @kinkybootsbway and @scenerybags for hooking me up with this curtain. #pride #broadway.”
Other photos shared to social media show the actor often wearing dresses or skirts. See, for example, hereherehere and here.
In an interview this past June with “The Late Night Show With Stephen Colbert,” Porter explained that since pants are no longer considered to be only for men, it seems wrong to him that it would be objectionable for a man to wear a dress, as it would be the equivalent of calling women “disgusting.”
“Women wearing pants is powerful. It’s strong. Everybody accepts it. And [yet] it’s associated with the patriarchy. It’s associated with being male,” he said. “The moment a man puts on a dress, it’s disgusting. So, what are you saying? Men are strong, women are disgusting? I’m not doing that anymore. I’m done with that.”
“I’m a man in a dress, and if I feel like wearing a dress, I’m going to wear one. You know, people forget that Jesus wore a dress too. They call them robes, but He wore a dress. They were dresses,” Porter asserted.
As previously reported, the Bible teaches that all men are in the exact same predicament: All are born with the Adamic sin nature and are therefore “by nature the children of wrath” (Ephesians 2:3), having various inherent inclinations that are contrary to the law and will of God and being utterly incapable of changing by themselves (Job 14:4).
It is why Jesus came: to “save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21) and that they might be “saved from wrath through Him” (Romans 5:9) — taking out of the way for those who are saved both the penalty for, and the power of, sin.
Jesus outlined in John 3:5-7 that men must be regenerated by the second birth, and be transformed from being in Adam to being in Christ, or they cannot see the kingdom of Heaven. This work of the Holy Spirit is known in Christianity as the doctrine of regeneration.
“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and ye shall keep My judgments and do them,” reads Ezekiel 36:26-27.

MOMS DEMAND ACTION CAUGHT RED-HANDED BREAKING MULTIPLE NJ GUN LAWS

MOMS DEMAND ACTION CAUGHT RED-HANDED BREAKING MULTIPLE NJ GUN LAWS
Moms Demand Action Caught Red-Handed Breaking Multiple NJ Gun Laws:
“large-capacity” magazines, unserialized 80% AR15 lower receivers.
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
New Jersey – -(AmmoLand.com)- On Saturday, October 19, 2019, the Michael Bloomberg funded Moms Demand Action, an organization that claims they advocate for “firearm safety” and “common-sense gun laws,” held a “Firearms 101 Presentation” with guest speaker Scott Pappalardo. Their website lists the event description ( https://northeast-moms.ngpvanhost.com/ngpvanforms/66454) as:
“Guest speaker Scott Pappalardo, a gun owner and volunteer leader in Moms Demand Action, presents firearms basics–how they work, how they are classified and how the permitting process works in NJ and in other states across the country. Our intention is to prepare non-gun owning volunteers to have knowledgeable conversations about gun violence prevention with gun owners they meet at tables or events…or in their everyday lives.”
Scott Pappalardo made national news in 2018 when he cut his AR-15 in half “if it would save the life of just one child.”

At the meeting, it appears that multiple New Jersey gun laws were violated. The Moms Demand Action speaker, Scott Pappalardo, possessed several “large-capacity” magazines, unserialized 80% AR15 lower receivers, and the parts and tools to complete the lower receivers to functioning AR-15 rifles, and possessed a large bayonet.

In June 2018, Moms Demand Action applauded the New Jersey legislature for passing laws that would ban “large-capacity” magazines that reduce a firearm ammunition magazine from 15 rounds down to 10 rounds and bans “ghost gun” parts and tools. New Jersey’s “large-capacity” magazine law 2C:39-3j, states:
“Any person who knowingly has in his possession a large capacity ammunition magazine is guilty of a crime of the fourth degree…”
“Large-capacity” magazines are defined by NJ law 2C:39-1y as:
“…a box, drum, tube or other container which is capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition to be fed continuously and directly therefrom into a semi-automatic firearm.”
The prohibition and ban of “large-capacity” magazines have been widely supported by gun-control organizations, such as Moms Demand Action.
By transporting a “large-capacity” magazine anywhere in New Jersey a person would violate New Jersey law 2C:39-9h that states:
“Any person who manufactures, causes to be manufactured, transports, ships, sells or disposes of a large capacity ammunition magazine which is intended to be used for any purpose other than for authorized military or law enforcement purposes by duly authorized military or law enforcement personnel is guilty of a crime of the fourth degree.”
Pappalardo possessed unserialized AR15 lower receivers and explained how easy it is to produce a firearm at home.
Moms Demand Action and their members have supported the ban of these tools and parts to be able to create your own firearm. Their website applauded the passing of these bills by stating “…which would prohibit ghost guns, untraceable firearms that people can build themselves, avoiding background check requirements…”
New Jersey law 2C:39-9k states:
“Purchasing firearm parts to manufacture a firearm without a serial number. In addition to any other criminal penalties provided under law, a person who, with the purpose to manufacture or otherwise assemble a firearm and without being registered or licensed do so as provided in chapter 58 of Title 2C of the New Jersey Statutes, purchases or otherwise obtains separately or as part of a kit a firearm frame or firearm receiver which is not imprinted with a serial number registered with a federally licensed manufacturer or any combination of parts from which a firearm without a serial number may be readily manufactured or otherwise assembled, but which does not have the capacity to function as a firearm unless manufactured or otherwise assembled is guilty of a crime of the third degree. Notwithstanding the provisions of N.J.S.2C:1-8 or any other law, a conviction under this subsection shall not merge with a conviction for any other criminal offense and the court shall impose separate sentences upon a violation of this subsection and any other criminal offense.”
Pappalardo also possessed a large bayonet which could be a violation of NJ 2C:39-5d which states:
Other weapons. Any person who knowingly has in his possession any other weapon under circumstances not manifestly appropriate for such lawful uses as it may have is guilty of a crime of the fourth degree.
Live ammunition ranging from .50BMG to 5.56 AR15 ammunition was also possessed by Pappalardo. Pappalardo presented at the William G. Rohrer Memorial Library, which is situated between four local schools. It is unknown at this time if possessing ammunition in gun-free school zones is a violation of state or federal law. Giffords Law Center and Moms Demand Action have both supported stricter laws to prohibit ammunition possession in school zones.

The National Rifle Association (NRA), the nation’s largest firearm safety and education organization, strictly forbids live ammunition anywhere except during live-fire practices in the gun range.

A local NRA Instructor and Training Counselor from ScotShot LLC agreed. “Live ammunition is expressly forbidden in all NRA classroom activities. Every course slide deck has this clearly stated.”

MAYOR DE BLASIO & NYC MARXISTS: WEAPONIZING KIDS WITH RACE THEORY, GENDER THEORY, DOOMSDAY ENVIRONMENTALISM

MAYOR DE BLASIO & NYC MARXISTS: WEAPONIZING KIDS WITH RACE THEORY, GENDER THEORY, DOOMSDAY ENVIRONMENTALISM
BY WILLIAM F. JASPER
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
Forget the 3Rs. Reading, ’Riting and ’Rithmatic are being replaced by the 5Rs: Race, Resources, Relationships, Restorative Justice, and Representation.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Education Chancellor Richard Carranza are turning the Big Apple’s school system (the largest in the nation, with 1.1 million students) into a political boot camp for churning out legions of “woke” crusaders for whichever cause du jour is scheduled as their current priority agenda item. The new “social studies” and “civics” curricula of the city’s Department of Education (NYCDOE) not only indoctrinate their K-12 captives in race theory, gender theory, LGBTQ rights, social justice, environmental justice, and a continually evolving potpourri of made-to-order Marxist grievances, but also encourages and directs students to take to the streets to demonstrate their righteous zeal.
When Swedish teen phenom Greta Thunberg delivered her screechy, preachy, snarly, sneering, “How dare you!” diatribe at the United Nations this past September, the American public got a foretaste of the future that “progressives” have in store for us. Not only did we see Little Miss Pigtails, the media-anointed climate crusader, at her bratty, arrogant, spiteful worst, we also witnessed hundreds of thousands Greta wannabees swarming onto New York City’s streets to demand that politicians enact “green” socialist programs and implement UN schemes for the ostensible purpose of combatting “climate change,” which they insist is an “existential crisis” of apocalyptic dimensions. Many of them mouthed Greta’s claim that Earth is only 12 years away from Doomsday, and they are fearful that they will “die from global warming.”
Naturally, Greta and her mob of puerile myrmidons had plenty of adult help and direction for this massive display of “youth-led” civics. Among those most responsible for this Mao-style mobilization of child and adolescent cadres are, of course, de Blasio and Carranza, who enjoy the indispensable assistance of the city’s radical teachers union, the United Nations, the Fake News Media (led by the New York Times), the Big Green environmental lobby (Sierra Club, Greenpeace, World Wildlife Fund, et al.) and a surging menagerie of ultra-left-wing organizations ranging from the Democratic Socialists of America and Make the Road New York to the Working Families Party, the Revolutionary Communist Party, and the Communist Party USA.
To assure that there would be a terrifyingly large child-youth turnout for Greta’s Youth Climate Strike, de Blasio and the NYCDOE excused kids from school for the day — as long as they participated in the strike. “New York City stands with our young people. They’re our conscience. We support the 9/20 #ClimateStrike,” Mayor de Blasio tweeted.
The kiddies were dutifully prepped for the occasion thanks to the Teaching Social Activism program of the NYCDOE’s new “Civics for All” social-studies curriculum. “NYC believes that teaching the foundations of American government and the democratic process is necessary in order to build a more engaged, active future citizen and informed voter, which is why it is making a significant investment in this work through Civics for All, a new initiative announced in Spring 2018. The DOE believes civic education is an essential part of every students’ core academic program,” states the NYCDOE website.
Teaching Social Activism is a professional learning workshop focused on teaching students about social activism, both historically and in the present day,” the course description continuies. “Participants will explore resources for teaching about social activism in history and consider strategies for encouraging active civic engagement in students today. Teachers will have the opportunity to tour Museum of the City of New York’s ongoing exhibition Activist New York and explore connected curriculum resources.”
Under the de Blasio/Carranza indoctrination scheme, students in Gotham’s crumbling school system are marinated in non-stop propaganda on race, gender, ecology, inequality, etc. They may be illiterate and innumerate, but they can spout all the “progressive” tropes about issues that demand their outrage. However, many of these budding revolutionaries, no doubt, feel overwhelmed by the vast array of existential threats they are being called upon to fix. After all, which is the more imminent menace, a fossil-fueled carbon footprint or toxic masculinity? White nationalism or homophobia/transphobia? Economic inequality or systemic police brutality? The “white privilege culture” or the “American gun culture?” The answer, according to the revolutionaries at NYCDOE, is that our children must not only master all of the Marxist gibberish associated with the above-mentioned exigent “crises” — and many more as well — but also demonstrate proper “social activism” in favor of the approved politically correct causes.
This writer attended and reported on the UN’s Civil Society Summit in Salt Lake City in August, which provided a youth warmup for the UN’s September Climate Action Summit in New York City. More than a thousand “youth thought leaders” from around the globe were brought to the Salt Lake City confab, with one of their major priorities being to help lead, and be “spokesyouth” for, the forthcoming Climate Strike at the UN.  (See herehereherehere, and here.)
If you think that it’s perfectly natural for un-coached pre-teens and teens to spout politically correct slogans about “sustainability,” “carbon sequestration,” “tipping points,” “existential crises,” “species extinction,” “climate deniers,” “scientific consensus,” and the like, then you probably also won’t have any trouble accepting that when the same ragamuffin chorus spews politically correct memes about “racial advantage hierarchy,” “proximity to white privilege,” “racial equity,” “implicit bias,” “racial reparations,” and “racial oppression” these too are spontaneous, organic, unrehearsed adolescent expressions. No reasonable person would accept that explanation, of course, especially since the evidence plainly shows that these “articulate” young “thought leaders” have been programed in this Orwellian Newspeak by the NYCDOE brainwashers. This institutionalized child abuse by ideological propagandists posing as “educators” is not limited to New York City; it is flourishing across the country and around the world, as testified by the parasympathetic Climate Strike demonstrations organized in dozens of cities throughout the planet. But the Big Apple does seem to pride itself in leading the pack.
3Rs out! 5Rs in! New York City’s racially saturated social-studies program claims to derive its impetus from a “youth-led” movement. Making the Grade: The Path to Real Integration and Equity for NYC Public School Student, the 2019 report of the city’s School Diversity Advisory Group, is a major guidepost to the NYCDOE plan for picking at racial scabs and enflaming racial turmoil under the guise of promoting “equity” and “diversity.”
In its introduction to the report, the School Diversity Advisory Group’s executive committee writes: “Inspired by students, we adopted IntegrateNYC’s 5Rs of Real Integration — Race and Enrollment; Resources; Relationships; Restorative Justice; and Representation — four of which apply to all schools, irrespective of enrollment.”
That executive intro is followed by a “Letter from NYC Students,” which is actually a letter from a radical-left organization purporting to speak for all of the 1.1 million NYC students. “We, the students of IntegrateNYC, stand for integrated schools that value students of color,” it proclaims. “We believe diversity initiatives that do not invest in cultural competency, disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline, recruit and retain diverse teachers and staff, and equitably fund all schools, are insufficient.”
“IntegrateNYC is a youth-led organization that stands for integration and equity in New York City schools,” the missive continues. “Students developed the 5Rs of Real Integration, a framework that redefines integration as more than the movement of bodies.”
Here are the 5Rs of Real Integration as proclaimed by the "youth" of IntegrateNYC: “We reclaim our right to: Racially integrate our schools through admissions processes that prioritize diversity by race, class, ability, and home language. Resource our schools through equitable distribution and monitoring of resources and opportunities. Relate through supportive relationships and culturally responsive curriculum and professional development for educators. Restore justice by interrupting the school-to-prison pipeline … Represent diverse communities through school faculty and leaders that reflect the cultures and identities of students and families.”
“This framework was created by students, for students,” the letter disingenuously claims, “and we believe it is necessary for all five components to work in conjunction to transform our schools into spaces that affirm, empower, and educate young people.”
Is IntegrateNYC truly a “youth-led organization”? Just asking. Apparently no one in the “mainstream media” even thinks of questioning this obviously fatuous claim. It doesn’t take a whole lot of digging on IntegrateNYC’s website and Facebook page to discredit the suspicious assertion. Right at the top of the organization’s Facebook page currently is a video of their “Still Not Equal” group demonstration on the steps of New York City Hall. While the students hold signs, an adult coach runs up the steps to position them more strategically, instruct them on holding the signs, and direct their movements. Adult cameramen with professional cameras are filming the entire adult-scripted operation.
Also currently at the top of their Facebook page is a promotion for “A Youth Mandate for Presidential Candidates: Permanently Dismantle The School-to-Prison-and-Deportation Pipeline.” IntegrateNYC is listed as one of the more than 100 faux “youth-led” groups endorsing the kiddie “mandate.” Other left-wing endorser outfits include the Youth Activism Project, Youth Everywhere Rising and Resisting (YERR), Youth First Initiative, Youth on Board, Youth Rise Texas, YVote/Next Generation Politics, Campaign for Youth Justice, Make the Road New York, Center for Teen Empowerment, Center for Youth & Community Leadership in Education, and many more.
As is the case with virtually every other Astroturf activist lobby masquerading as a grassroots movement, the “youth-led” movement is funded by the usual sources: government agencies and the globalist tax-exempt foundations (Ford, Rockefeller, Soros, Gates, Tides, et al.)
Is the de Blasio-Carranza New York City model the prototype for the entire nation? It would seem so, since schemes similar to the NYCDOE version are being implemented in government schools (as well as many private schools) across the land. Parents who leave their children in these indoctrination centers are acquiescing to the subversive brainwashing of an entire generation. Taxpayers and voters who continue to fund these schools and tolerate these subversive social engineers are complicit in their subversion.

LIFESITE NEWS: FULL RULING-IMPORTANT DETAILS OF THE JAMES YOUNGER VERDICT
BY MADELEINE JACOB
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
DALLAS, Texas, October 29, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – LifeSiteNews has obtained a certified copy of the complete ruling in the case of seven-year-old James Younger, whose mother wanted him to undergo a gender “transition” against his father’s wishes.
Mr. Jeffrey Younger was fighting to prevent his ex-wife Dr. Anne Georgulas from “transitioning” James into “Luna.” The custody battle over James and his twin, Jude, garnered national attention after initially being ignored by the mainstream media. LifeSiteNews and The Texan were the only news outlets present for the entire trial.
Judge Kim Cooks ultimately ruled that Dr. Georgulas will not be able to “transition” the child into a girl without Mr. Younger’s consent, and placed a gag order on both parents preventing either of them from talking about the case with media until James and Jude turn 18.
Judge Cooks made it clear she was not happy with the media attention the case received, and Dr. Georgulas’ lawyers brought up Mr. Younger’s speaking to the media. He said he felt the public had a right to know what was going on in the medical field.
Judge Cooks did not uphold the jury’s ruling that the current order be modified to provide one of the parents with sole managing conservatorship. She ruled that Mr. Younger and Dr. Georgulas will be joint managing conservators. They will both need to agree on all medical, dental, and psychological/psychiatric care. If a counselor “determines it is appropriate,” Mr. Younger will be granted 50/50 custody in January or June 2020. Judge Cooks’ also mandated family counseling for the entire family.
Judge Cooks is the same judge who, in 2017, awarded Dr. Georgulas “the exclusive right, after notifying the Father, to consent to psychiatric and psychological treatment of the children” and “the exclusive right, after notifying the Father, to consent to medical, dental, and surgical treatment involving invasive procedures.”
The court also mandated counseling to address specifically outlined issues and issued an injunction against the parents “making disparaging remarks regarding the other parent in the presence of the children or in the children’s listening.”
Judge Cooks gave the amicus attorney, Mr. Stacy Dunlop, the power to make medical decisions for the boys if Mr. Younger and Dr. Georgulas cannot agree.
“If the parents cannot come to an agreement, they will make an appointment with Stacy Dunlop, the Parenting Coordinator, who will resolve the dispute by making a decision on behalf of the parents if they still disagree,” the ruling says.
Specifically on medical, psychological, psychiatric, and dental issues, Mr. Dunlop will “resolve the dispute by making a decision on behalf of the parents if they still disagree after discussing the disagreement with Stacy Dunlop.”
Dr. Georgulas has “the exclusive right to the services and earnings of the children, and the exclusive right to receive child support.”
The ruling also outlines the court’s 68 findings. The court found “that there has been no abuse, neglect, or family violence by either parent to the children or from one parent towards the other.” The court found, “the mother made no request to surgically or chemically transition the child’s sex or to chemically castrate the child.”
Evidence presented in court indicated Dr. Georgulas had referrals to the GENECIS transgender children’s clinic. Dr. Georgulas also testified that she consulted with the GENECIS clinic about James. Dr. Georgulas’ expert witnesses testified about the alleged benefits of “affirming” transgenderism in children, including the use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones.
The court found that, “the State of Texas has no compelling interest to justify such interference as to entering Orders requiring the Father to affirm Luna and honor her [sic] choices, both inside and outside the home.” In other words, Mr. Younger will not be forced to use female pronouns to refer to his son.
One of the court findings highlighted a statement from Dr. Albritton, the custody evaluator, that Dr. Georgulas was “over and above affirming.” The court also found that “the Mother has exceeded the scope of the exclusive rights and duties provided in the prior order.”
The ruling also said that the state has not mandated the “transition” of James directly: “No Texas judge or Texas court nor the 255th family court of appeal has ordered the chemical castration, puberty blockers, hormone blockers, or any transgnder reassignment surgery on this child.”
Gov. Greg Abbott, Sen. Ted Cruz, and Rep. Dan Crenshaw – all of Texas – and many conservative leaders weighed in on the case after it went viral
Sen. Rand Paul, R-KY, tweeted: “We don’t let kids drink alcohol til 21. People want to move smoking age to 21. But we will allow a 7 year old to have his life and body altered like this? This is child abuse and the state should side with the father who is trying to protect the child.”
The certified copy of the ruling can be read HERE.

Dad who fought to protect son from gender ‘transition’ now under ‘unconstitutional’ gag order

BY MADELEINE JACOB
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
DALLAS, Texas, October 25, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – The judge who ruled yesterday that seven-year-old James Younger’s parents will have 50/50 custody of him and joint decision-making over his medical decisions has placed both of them under a gag order. They are prohibited from speaking to the media about the case, which made national news after it was initially ignored by the mainstream media, until James and his twin Jude turn 18.
Judge Kim Cooks of the 255th District Court included a gag order on Mr. Jeffrey Younger and Dr. Anne Georgulas in her custody ruling. Dr. Georgulas has been trying to orchestrate a gender “transition” for James against Mr. Younger’s wishes.
During their messy legal battle, Dr. Georgulas’ attorneys focused on Mr. Younger’s engagement with the media during the trial, calling it an invasion of the boys’ privacy.
The gag order on Mr. Younger is “clearly unconstitutional,” Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel, told LifeSiteNews.
“This is an outrageous decision by the court that clearly is unconstitutional under the First Amendment,” said Mr. Staver. “It is obvious with the court order that the judge has made some serious mistakes because this is fairly straightforward that you can’t gag a father from talking about his son to the media.”
Jonathan Saenz, the President of Texas Values, called the gag order an “overreaction”:
“The issuance of a gag order is clearly an overreaction in this case particularly since this case was going to be decided by a judge and not a jury, but it is also an indication that Jeff Younger realized he had to do everything he could to get his message out [because] up until this point the system had not worked the way it should.”
Saenz shared his hope that this case will spur the state of Texas to pass laws protecting children.
“Moving forward we are very encouraged that state [legislators] and leaders recognize the need to address the injustice that this situation highlighted and we hope that there will be an opportunity very soon to have protections in state’s laws for children and parental rights in our state on this issue.”
Mr. Younger testified that he had not sought out any interviews and that he only accepted interviews with certain media. Mr. Younger also testified that he wouldn’t stop engaging with the media after the trial. He told LifeSiteNews, “I would like to protect every child in the United States from these abhorrent practices by the medical community.”

Texas Solicitor General just issued brief calling gag order on another family unconstitutional

Gag orders have been issued in other parental rights cases. In addition to calling them unconstitutional, critics say they are used to prevent parents from sharing with the public what is being done to their children.
When Justina Pelletier was taken from her parents’ custody after they disagreed with a doctor at Boston Children's Hospital, her parents were also gagged. Justina was ultimately reunited with her family, but is still recovering from the trauma of being seized by government officials and locked in a psychiatric ward for almost 16 months, where her physical condition also deteriorated.
In July, a judge outside of Dallas issued a gag order on the Pardo family, whose four-year-old son was taken by the state over allegations of medical abuse, which came after his parents sought a second medical opinion.
Just last week, Texas Solicitor General Kyle Hawkins issued a brief on behalf of the State of Texas saying the gag order placed on the Pardo family is unconstitutional.
“The gag order is a prior restraint on speech,” he wrote. “It is plainly overbroad and cannot be squared with the First Amendment’s free speech guarantees.”
“Neither the trial court’s threadbare explanation nor the record justifies the substantial infringement on First Amendment rights.”
Dr. Georgulas’ attorneys argued during the trial that Mr. Younger speaking with the press put his children in danger despite the lack of evidence of this.
In his brief, Hawkins cited numerous cases setting the precedent for the unconstitutional nature of a gag order during court proceedings. He cited the need for evidence of imminent harm for the imposition of a gag order.
“A court may impose a gag order only upon evidence of an imminent harm that cannot be addressed by less restrictive means. See Neb. Press, 427 U.S. at 562,” the briefing stated.
Hawkins’ brief also addressed the use of gag orders to protect the privacy of juveniles both at a state and federal level.
“Further, a ‘state’s interest in protecting juveniles’ cannot alone justify suppressing speech about a juvenile’s private information that was lawfully obtained. Smith v. Daily Mail Pub. Co., 443 U.S. 97, 104 (1979); see also In re T.T., 779 N.W.2d 602, 620 (Neb. Ct. App. 2009)”
“The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld ‘legislation aimed at protecting the physical and emotional well-being of youth even when the laws have operated in the sensitive area of constitutionally pro tected rights,’ New York v. Ferber, 458 U.S. 747, 757 (1982), but has also cautioned that ‘the objective of shielding children does not suffice to support a blanket ban if the protection can be accomplished by a less restrictive alternative,’ United States v. Playboy Entm’t Grp., Inc., 529 U.S. 803, 814 (2000).”

MEDIA, “HUMAN RIGHTS” ORGANIZATIONS MAKING PROSTITUTION ATTRACTIVE TO CHILDREN

MEDIA, “HUMAN RIGHTS” ORGANIZATIONS MAKING PROSTITUTION ATTRACTIVE TO CHILDREN
BY DEBORAH STILT
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
PETITION: Keep Prostitution Illegal in DC Sign the petition here.
October 28, 2019 (Personhood Alliance) — The movement to legalize prostitution is rapidly growing and right now, the Washington, DC, City Council is considering such a proposal. This movement is also using public institutions to glamorize "sex work" and other immoral lifestyles to our youth and separate prostitution from sex trafficking. Just like abortion, it's sold to women and girls as a ticket to freedom and power, and a harmful, corrupted morality disguised as human rights.
Across the country, there is an alarming trend to decriminalize prostitution. The deceptively titled Community Safety and Health Amendment Act of 2019, being championed right now in Washington, DC, is the latest of many such efforts. If the DC City Council passes this resolution, it will fully decriminalize the sex trade there, including pimping, sex buying, and brothel operations. Similar bills have appeared in New York, New Hampshire, California, Maine, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
While so far these proposals have been defeated, the movement to recognize prostitution as legitimate employment is rapidly growing. Perhaps even more concerning, these efforts directly coincide with a broader agenda to use public institutions to normalize, and even glamorize, abnormal behavior.  And who is the target of these efforts? Our children.

Selling "sex work" to kids

In a Teen Vogue article titled "Why Sex Work Is Real Work," Dr. Tlaleng Mofokeng, founder of Nalane for Reproductive Justice, explains to teenage girls why she believes prostitution should be decriminalized throughout the world. Another article, written by Katie Fisher aka "Kitty Stryker" — who was formerly prostituted and performed in porn films — advises teens that anti–sex trafficking bills make prostitution more dangerous. She claims that sites such as Backpage, where individuals (often minors) were being trafficked by pimps who sought out customers, are unjustly targeted by these laws. Savannah Sly, a career sex worker, gives teens insight into how power and sex relate
Abortion is openly celebrated, and teens are encouraged to support Planned Parenthood by purchasing a hoodie with a near-pornographic design and the slogan "don't f--- with my freedom" emblazoned on the front.
Teens are not the only ones being targeted. Children of all ages are encouraged to accept the unnatural as normal and good. Nationwide, we see the rise of drag queen story hours in public libraries, schools, and bookstores. Meanwhile, the drag kid phenomenon is championed by our media and entertainment industries.
Why is sex being sold so fervently to kids? And since when are sex workers and drag queens appropriate role models for our youth?
Perhaps drag queen Dylan Pontiff inadvertently answered these questions in defending drag queen story hours when he openly stated, "This is going to be the grooming of the next generation."

Grooming children through the schools

Controversial sex-education programs are inundating our schools. California recently approved the 2019 Health Education Curriculum Framework for California Public Schools to align with the Healthy Youth Act of 2016. This curriculum encourages discussion of a wide range of progressive social issues, including gender identity, LGBTQ relationships, and transgenderism, beginning as early as kindergarten. Heralded as a "beacon of hope" by LGBTQ activists and a "forerunner" for other states to follow, proponents are hopeful to see similar curricula implemented across the nation.
Parents and teachers in California have protested the new program due to its sexually explicit content, but their complaints have gone unanswered. Conveniently, Planned Parenthood offers resources on its website to help school districts comply with the new requirements, as well as a fee-for-service program to provide instruction from "trusted reproductive health workers" at local schools.
Why such a focus on sex?  And why is prostitution being glamorized by Planned Parenthood?

From grooming to the real world

Besides the obvious answer — that Planned Parenthood is once again implementing its immoral business model to increase its customer base, advocates like Planned Parenthood claim that "Sex work IS work" and therefore, people who work in the sex industry deserve the rights and protections of any other job. This idea has gained traction in recent years, through Planned Parenthood's campaigns to youth and with presidential candidates Senator Kamala Harris of California and Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey voicing their support
The stated goals of decriminalization efforts are to improve safety and work conditions, to increase access to health, legal, and social services, and to eliminate discrimination on behalf of individuals working within the sex industry.  Tawanda Mutasah, Amnesty International's Senior Director for Law and Policy, explains
Sex workers are at heightened risk of a whole host of human rights abuses including rape, violence, extortion, and discrimination. Far too often they receive no, or very little, protection from the law or means for redress.
Organizations that support the decriminalization of prostitution include Amnesty International, the ACLU, and the World Health Organization, among others. They all cite keeping workers safe, erasing social stigma, and guaranteeing privacy rights to be among their objectives. They advocate for "sex work" to be governed by standard labor law, thereby giving workers protections and benefits similar to those they would find in legitimate employment.

But is decriminalization the answer?

Decriminalization advocates seek to differentiate sex work from sex trafficking. This is a critical argument that's being made to normalize prostitution and separate it from the public's strong opposition to trafficking — in particular, domestic minor sex trafficking.
A key point of this separation argument is that not all sex workers are victims and that many are in the sex industry by choice. But is prostitution really a choice?  One could argue that a person "chooses" prostitution the way an animal in a trap "chooses" to gnaw off its paw. In other words, people sell their bodies and their dignity when all other choices have been taken away.  This video by Exodus Cry helps put this into perspective.
Many advocates claim that decriminalization will make prostitution safer. However, the data actually indicate the opposite. The National Center on Sexual Exploitation states:
There are no independent studies that show normalizing the sex trade by decriminalizing it or legalizing it makes it safer. On the contrary, where prostitution is legalized/legitimized there's an increase in sex trafficking, as demonstrated by an academic study of 150 countries.
Click here to read that study.
Far from being empowering, legalized prostitution leads to further exploitation. In the Netherlands, where prostitution has been legal since 2000, an estimated 50–90% of women are selling their bodies against their will. Legalization in Europe has created an extensive secondary market for minors and foreigners who are trafficked and controlled by organized crime. Some sex buyers want underage girls and boys, and some want services to which workers might object. A BBC investigation found children as young as seven being groomed to sell sex in one of the world's largest legally licensed brothels.
The clear losers here are women and girls, who account for 99% of victims in commercial sex trafficking. Prostitution is not a job. It is a form of violence and a degradation of human beings, and it is a direct violation of their personhood

Harm, not human rights

Genesis 1:27 tells us, "So God created man in his own image; in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." Here lies the foundation of the Judeo-Christian belief in human value and human exceptionalism. Because all human beings are created in the image of God, each person is priceless beyond measure, regardless of external factors such as age, ability, or wantedness.
This truth is the bedrock of human rights, and when taken away, all other human rights crumble like blocks in a tower.
The legalization of prostitution in DC, or anywhere for that matter, violates human dignity and deeply harms everyone it touches — from the people being trafficked to families and society at large.
But just like abortion, it's sold to women and girls as a ticket to freedom and power, and a harmful, corrupted morality disguised as human rights.
Deborah Stilt is the social media coordinator for the Personhood Alliance and has been active in pro-life media for several years. But most importantly, she's a California mom who is fighting against the lies of the culture and for the protection of every human being without exception.

LIGHTHOUSE TRAILS RESEARCH: WILL CHRISTIANS REPLACE COMMITMENT TO THE GOSPEL FOR A UNIFIED DOMINIONIST AGENDA TO “SAVE THE COUNTRY”?~”SCHOOL” OF CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER

LIGHTHOUSE TRAILS RESEARCH ARTICLES:
WILL CHRISTIANS REPLACE COMMITMENT TO THE GOSPEL FOR A UNIFIED DOMINIONIST AGENDA TO “SAVE THE COUNTRY”?
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
The headline above is from an article Lighthouse Trails wrote in 2015. We are posting this article again because this month four highly popular evangelical leaders did something that more than surprised many people. And we believe what they did is a perfect example of what this article is warning.
On October 18, 2019, Religious News Service reported:
This week SBC adherents watched in (near) terror as prominent Southern Baptist pastors, including Franklin Graham, Jack Graham (no relation to Franklin or Billy), Robert Jeffress and Greg Laurie [not SBC], tweeted their approval of a new book by Paula White, President Trump’s spiritual advisor. In another time, these long-respected gospel preachers and conservative leaders would never have risked reputation and religious conviction to promote her.
One can only speculate at this point why these high-profile evangelical leaders would endorse a book written by someone who has aligned with the prosperity-gospel and the New Apostolic Reformation (see links below). It doesn’t take much imagination to believe that these endorsements by the two Grahams (not related), Jeffress, and Laurie were politically motivated.
As we explain below, there is every reason for American Christians to be seriously concerned about the state of our country and to hope and pray for godly leadership in the political realm. But will Christian leaders and pastors replace commitment to the Gospel for commitment to a unified dominionist agenda to “save the country”? Sadly, in many cases, the Gospel has already been replaced with various substitutes, and dominionism is one of those.
2015 Article by the Editors at Lighthouse Trails:

Will Christians Replace Commitment to the Gospel for Commitment to a Unified Dominionist Agenda to “Save the Country”?

As America is fast approaching another presidential election year, Dominionist/Kingdom Now political and religious figures are joining forces with evangelical Christian groups. While having concern for the state of America is more than legitimate, will Christians replace commitment and loyalty to the Gospel for commitment and loyalty to a dominionist agenda? If they do, they will learn the hard way that compromise and a “whatever it takes” attitude will do more harm to the cause of Jesus Christ than good.
This article is not a statement that Christians should not be involved in or concerned about the political state of their countries. Rather, the intention of this article is to exhort believers to use discernment in understanding the times in which we live. It is to show how a present ecumenical, dominionist movement (that is heading toward a one-world religion to “establish the kingdom of God on earth”) is operating and deceiving many Christians. As Christians, we are to be witnesses for Jesus Christ and His Gospel message of salvation. But today, many Christians may be on the brink of buying into a plan that will ultimately create a global religion and global government.
The apostle Paul was very clear that we are not to entangle ourselves with those who say they are of the faith but preach “another gospel” (Romans 16:17, Titus 3:10, 2 Corinthians 11: 13-15).
The definition below of dominionism is helpful in understanding the goals of the dominionist movement:
The Gospel of Salvation [according to dominionism] is achieved by setting up the “Kingdom of God” as a literal and physical kingdom to be “advanced” on Earth in the present age. Some dominionists liken the New Testament Kingdom to the Old Testament Israel in ways that justify taking up the sword, or other methods of punitive judgment, to war against enemies of their kingdom. Dominionists teach that men can be coerced or compelled to enter the kingdom. They assign to the Church duties and rights that belong Scripturally only to Jesus Christ.
Dominionism shares some of the same ideologies as the emerging church, the primary similarity being the belief that a utopian “kingdom of God” will be set up on earth prior to the return of Jesus Christ, and in fact there won’t actually be a bodily physical return of Christ; but rather His presence will become more manifest within us the more the kingdom of God on earth is created. This is totally contrary to Scripture that tells us that Jesus Christ will return physically (where every eye shall see Him), and it will be to a world that has become completely chaotic and reprobate, not utopian and godly.
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. (Revelation 1:7)
An article titled “7 Mountains – Set to Go Viral” examines the goals of this dominionist agenda, expressing “concern that this radical mandate for dominionism, and the leaders of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) which birthed it, are becoming part of the political Right and evangelical mainstream.” The article states that the “7 mountains mandate is already becoming a unifying rally point among evangelicals from many diverse theological camps and from some very unexpected quarters.”
The Dominionist/Reclaiming our Culture mind-set is a dangerous path that leads, not to biblical truth, but rather to an ecumenical, Road to Rome, “Army for God” that will attempt to force culture to be “Christian” (something Jesus Christ or the disciples never mandated) and will end up leading all down that Road to Rome and eventually into a one-world religion and one-world government.
The article assesses:
Not only does the Kingdom of God have a different King to the kingdoms of the world, but it has different citizens, has a different future and it operates by different principles. One of the principles that makes God’s Kingdom radically different to that of the world is the lust for power as opposed to the willingness to serve.
“Jesus said: ‘Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.’” (Matthew 20:25-28).2
This is not to say that Christians should not try to be a light and the “salt” in a fallen culture (Matthew 5:13). But there is a difference between what Scripture instructs us to do and what the 7 Mountains movers teach; they  believe they are “building an actual PHYSICAL kingdom here on earth — structurally through man’s mechanisms. This is the 7 mountains that they want to take over. They believe they can take them over by political, scientific, and psycho-social means.” And like the New Agers, they also want to build the spiritual kingdom within, “which they believe they can perfect themselves here on earth via mysticism” thus “they will begin to ‘manifest’ Christ — become the sons of God.”3
A Civil War?
In a radio transcript titled “Blues and Grays,”  Roger Oakland of Understand the Times states:
Christianity is about to be purified through a civil war, they say. Is this behavior indicative of a revival as some claim? Or is this exactly what occurred in the past when “enlightened Christians” became the “manifested sons of God”?
[In] an article written by Rick Joyner called the Coming Civil War in the Church. . . . Joyner states he believes a civil war will soon be breaking out within the church. He states: “There is a huge portion of the church which is being held bondage to the same religious spirit that manifested itself to the Pharisees, and it will attack any new movement that arises in the church. The more anointed the new movement is, the more these traditionalists will be threatened by it, and the more vehemently they will attack it.”
Joyner’s solution for removing the people who oppose this “anointed new move” sounds rather militant. Listen to what he says:
“The longer we continue to compromise with such institutions which use manipulation or control for the sake of unity or for any reason the more it will ultimately cost us to remove the cancer from our midst.”
Joyner then went on to describe how the conflict in the church will develop:
“The coming spiritual civil war will be between the Blue’s and the Gray’s. In dreams and visions blue often represents heavenly-mindedness, and gray speaks of those who live by the power of their own minds – which is equivalent to the brain’s gray matter. This will be a conflict between those who may be genuine Christians, but who live mostly according to their natural minds and human wisdom, and those who follow the Holy Spirit.” 4
In Kevin Reeves book, The Other Side of the River, Reeves discusses Rick Joyner. Reeves, a former elder of a Latter Rain/dominionist church, states:
Joyner’s blatant Latter Rain beliefs were assimilated into our congregation on the wings of the mythical end-times revival which would supposedly sweep millions into the kingdom. A super-spiritual elite group of prophets and apostles will be raised up, Joyner states, and will transform the world of these last days, doing greater miracles than even the apostles who walked with our Lord. Whole nations will tremble at the mention of their names.
Interesting. Sounds a lot easier to deal with than Jesus’ prophecy that “[Y]e shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake” (Matthew 24:9).5
In Final Quest, Joyner says he hears from a dead saint (one of the foolish virgins mentioned in Scripture), who has told him the things that are to come. According to one researcher, “Rick Joyner was one of the ‘Kansas City Prophets’ who now wields considerable influence through his ‘prophecies’ about a coming militant church.”6 Joyner states:
We are coming to the times when passive Christianity and passive Christians will cease to exist. There is a maturity, a discipline, and a divine militancy coming upon the people of God. Those who have succumbed to humanistic and idealistic theologies may have a hard time with this, but we must understand that God is a military God. The title that He uses ten times more than any other in Scripture is “the Lord of hosts,” or “Lord of armies.” There is a martial aspect to His character that we must understand and embrace for the times and the job to which we are now coming.7
We know that the Lord will return with a cloud of witnesses to bring down judgment on the earth, but we don’t believe Rick Joyner or the self-proclaimed apostles and prophets will be leading the way.
Will the Christian Church Sell Out?
During the years just prior to the 2008 presidential election, an all out effort was made by leaders in the emerging church to help get elected a liberal, far left president. Many of these leaders, such as Rick Warren, said things that made many conservative Christians feel guilty for voting on moral issues such as abortion and homosexuality. Books by emerging “progressive” authors suggested that Christians shouldn’t even become involved in politics (e.g. Shane Claiborne’s book, Jesus for President) (see our booklet on this issue).  And while the older conservatives were being manipulated not to vote, young Christians were being persuaded to vote differently than their “old fashioned parents,” to vote for social justice regardless of biblical standards or lack of them.  And, well, no need to say what these emerging efforts did to America.
No single political party can save the world. The Bible says that the closer we draw to the second coming of Christ, the worse the state of the world will be in. Rather than “evolving” into perfection, mankind is disintegrating.8 It’s because of man’s sin and a world that has for the most part rejected the Savior of the world. Revelation 12:9 states that the day will come when Satan will “deceiveth the whole world.” Yet just as Jesus gave the coin to pay the tax to Caesar, so too we as Christians can be responsibly active in our world. But foremost, let us remember that the Bible says we cannot serve both God and man at the same time (Matthew 6:24).The true calling of born-again believers is to preach the Gospel, make disciples, and contend for the faith. And we must never compromise by embracing dominionist agendas and interspiritual Peace Plans and joining forces with those whose goals and ambitions are contrary to the Christian commission given to us by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We must ask ourselves, is a militant dominionist agenda what we really want to embrace and support? Is it what we want to serve?
In a powerful radio interview a few years ago, former radio host Ingrid Schlueter addressed this dominionist agenda. She stated:
We have a group of leaders who are horrified with the moral collapse in this country. I am horrified with the cultural collapse in this country. We have a problem in identifying and discerning why our culture is collapsing. What we are seeing around us is not fruit of Christians not caring. It’s fruit of Christians abandoning the gospel. And if we’re not going to define the gospel along biblical terms, and we’re going to allow false teachers in among us, and we’re going to link arms with said false teachers, and we’re going to work with them who are preaching another gospel, who are teaching lies, if we’re going to link arms with them to save the culture, we are not only engaged in a futile effort, but God is going to, in turn, judge that conduct. Because judgment, Scripture tells us, begins at the house of God.9
An article on this issue states:
The sad fact is that great opportunities to present the message of the gospel of salvation are being lost. Precious time is being wasted . . . Those who truly need to hear a message of repentance, salvation and hope aren’t being witnessed to. Discipleship isn’t happening. . . . It is a false gospel that preaches that the culture/nation can be changed rather than focusing on the lost who will perish in hell if they do not repent. . . . And when the lost are truly saved and born again, their lives will change and this is when the miracles begin to happen and when the culture around them begins to be positively impacted by the salt and light of their changed lives.10
Lighthouse Trails is dedicated to warning the sheep about last-days spiritual deception. While it is difficult to have to sound this warning at a time when many are concerned about the state of their countries and the world at large, Jesus made it very clear about how we are to view the world, behave in the world, and reach out to the unsaved. He never told his disciples to form associations with those promoting spiritual deception in order to establish a kingdom on earth. On the contrary, Jesus said:
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. (John 15:18-19)
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. (2 Corinthians 6:17)
My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. (John 18:36)

Remembering Ray Yungen and Richard Foster’s “School” of Contemplative Prayer
Three years ago today author and researcher Ray Yungen passed away at the age of 64. As regular Lighthouse Trails readers know, it was through Ray’s work that Lighthouse Trails begannearly 18 years ago.
Interestingly, on the eve of this 3rd anniversary of Ray’s departure, we read an e-mail notice we received this week promoting Richard Foster’s writings. The notice was from a group called Conversatio Divina (from The Dallas Willard Center). The late Dallas Willard was the man who initially influenced Foster toward the contemplative path. We consider these two men (Willard and Foster) the leading pioneers in bringing contemplative spirituality into the evangelical church (something that has had devastating results).
We estimate that, to one degree or another, almost every evangelical church in North America has been affected by contemplative spirituality (i.e., Spiritual Formation). If that sounds like an exaggeration, consider this as one way this happened: In Rick Warren’s book The Purpose Driven Church (his first book which has sold over 1 million copies), Warren identified Willard and Foster as the two key players in the Spiritual Formation (i.e., contemplative prayer) movement (p. 126). Later in his book The Purpose Driven Life (which has sold over 32 million copies and been used by over 400,000 pastors), Warren encouraged the use of contemplative breath prayers (p. 115) and “practicing the presence” (pp. 114-116). Between the two books, tens of millions of Christians and hundreds of thousands of pastors have been introduced to contemplative spirituality.
Below is an article Ray Yungen wrote about Richard Foster’s contemplative affinities. We encourage you to read it because sooner or later your church is going to encounter this deceptive anti-Gospel spirituality. And we hope when that day comes, you will be ready to identify it and stop it from entering your church.
A Serious Look at Richard Foster’s “School” of Contemplative Prayer
rp_BKT-RY-RF.jpg
By Ray Yungen
[W]e should all without shame enroll as apprentices in the school of contemplative prayer.1—Richard Foster, Celebration of Discipline: the Path to Spiritual Growth
Christianity is not complete without the contemplative dimension.2—Richard Foster
In Portland, Oregon there is a large bookstore devoted entirely to New Age spirituality. Every Eastern mystical and metaphysical topic under the sun is found there. Interestingly, there is a sizable section on contemplative prayer with Catholic monk Thomas Merton having a whole shelf devoted just to his writings. Why would a New Age bookstore give valuable space to a topic that purports to be Christian? That is a legitimate question. May I suggest the reason is that the “Christian” mystical tradition (i.e., contemplative prayer) shares a sense of profound kinship with the Eastern mystical tradition. There is ample evidence to support this claim.
In this booklet, we are going to examine a few of the major players in the contemplative prayer movement to show that Richard Foster’s “school” of contemplative prayer does not belong in Christianity. In fact, as you will see, the message behind it is the very opposite of biblical Christianity and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
What is the “School” of Contemplative Prayer? In Celebration of Discipline, Richard Foster says “we should all without shame enroll as apprentices in the school of contemplative prayer.” What does he mean when he says “school” of contemplative prayer? When Foster uses the word school, he does not mean, of course, a building or an institution somewhere. For example, Webster’s New World College Dictionary has nine different definitions for the word school. The one that fits what we are trying to get across is:
. . . a group of people held together by the same teachings, beliefs, opinions, methods, etc.3
When one examines the spiritual context of this definition, one can see what kind of spiritual “fruit” it produces. The only way you can ascertain the real essence of a movement is to look at the leaders or prominent individuals in that “school” to see just where their practices have led them, what conclusions they have come to, and what propels their vision of truth.
Let’s first establish what is meant by the word contemplation. Carl McColman in his Big Book of Christian Mysticism explains the context of it in the following way:
[Contemplation] comes from the Latin word contemplare, which means “to observe” or “to notice.” The word is also rooted in the word “temple,” however, relating it to sacred space. . . . Once Christianized, contemplation lost its association with divination [soothsaying] and came to signify the prayerful practice of attending to the presence of God.4
So if Foster is correct, the leaders of this movement are those who have turned to the presence of God in a unique and profound way, and their methods should be followed to achieve the same results.
Now let’s look at the spiritual perspectives of these leaders in the “school of contemplative prayer.”
Thomas Merton Thomas Merton, a Catholic monk, is the most widely recognized of the modern-day contemplative writers. His influence is enormous in the contemplative field. Richard Foster quotes Merton over a dozen times in Celebration of Discipline and in other books as well, and many other evangelicals also quote Merton. The following entry from Merton’s published work, The Asian Journal of Thomas Merton (written during his last trip to Asia*) speaks volumes as to Merton’s spiritual sympathies:
We went looking first for Chatral Rimpoche [a Tibetan holy man] at his hermitage above Ghoom. . . . We were told he was at an ani gompa, a nunnery, down the road. . . . So off we went toward Bagdogra and with some difficulty found the tiny nunnery . . . and there was Chatral, the greatest rimpoche [a Buddhist teacher] I have met so far and a very impressive person.
. . . We started talking about dzogchen and Nyingmapa meditation and “direct realization” and soon saw that we agreed very well. . . . The unspoken or half-spoken message of the talk was our complete understanding of each other as people who were somehow on the edge of great realization . . . and that it was a grace for us to meet one another. I wish I could see more of Chatral. He burst out and called me a rangjung Sangay (which apparently means a “natural Buddha”) . . . He told me, seriously, that perhaps he and I would attain to complete Buddhahood in our next lives, perhaps even in this life, and the parting note was a kind of compact that we would both do our best to make it in this life. I was profoundly moved, because he is so obviously a great man, the true practitioner of dzogchen, the best of the Nyingmapa lamas, marked by complete simplicity and freedom. He was surprised at getting on so well with a Christian and at one point laughed and said, “There must be something wrong here!”If I were going to settle down with a Tibetan guru, I think Chatral would be the one I’d choose.5 (emphasis added)
An equally revealing aspect of Merton’s Asian trip is what he experienced at a Buddhist shrine in Ceylon:
. . . an inner clearness, clarity, as if exploding from the rocks themselves, became evident and obvious. . . . All problems are resolved and everything is clear, simply because what matters is clear. The rock, all matter, all life, is charged with dharmakaya[the unity of all things and all people]. . . I don’t know when in my life I have ever had such a sense of beauty and spiritual validity running together in one aesthetic illumination. Surely . . . my Asian pilgrimage has come clear and purified itself. I . . . have seen what I was obscurely looking for. I don’t know what else remains.6 (emphasis added)
Why would someone who was so heavily involved in “Christian” mysticism be so entwined in and enthusiastically embracing of Buddhist mysticism? I considered titling this booklet Something’s Wrong Here because even though Chatral meant it in a positive way, when he said those words to Merton, he himself was shocked that Merton, a professing Christian, was basically on the same page as him and that they were able to fellowship.
One of Merton’s biographers, William Shannon, made this very clear when he explained:
If one wants to understand Merton’s going to the East it is important to understand that it was his rootedness in his own faith tradition [Catholicism] that gave him the spiritual equipment [contemplative prayer] he needed to grasp the way of wisdom that is proper to the East.7
What Merton meant by “dharmakaya” is actually what the New Age and eastern religions call cosmic consciousness (i.e., God is in everything and everybody.) But Foster, in his book Celebration of Discipline, guarantees the reader that what he’s promoting will not lead to cosmic consciousness. He states, “It involves no hidden mysteries, no secret mantras, no mental gymnastics, no esoteric flights into the cosmic consciousness.”8
Foster’s attempt to assuage any suspicion of practicing contemplative prayer is countered by William Shannon’s assertion that it was precisely contemplative prayer that brought Merton into his embracing of this Buddhist worldview.
A skeptic might say, well, Merton was just an anomaly who got off track, but in general the contemplative leads to the God of the Bible. I beg to differ. To show this is not the case, we need to look at other teachers in the “school of contemplative prayer.”
Henri Nouwen Dutch Catholic priest, Henri Nouwen, would probably rank second to Merton in influence and admiration. Popular evangelical author Tony Campolo calls Nouwen “one of the great Christians of our time,” stating:
[Nouwen’s] writings have guided and inspired Christians of all persuasions . . . whose life was a brilliant example of twentieth-century saintliness.9
Campolo’s admiration is widely mirrored in the evangelical world; just as Merton is quoted in many evangelical books these days, so also is Nouwen. Kay Warren, Rick Warren’s wife, is one of the popular evangelicals who sees great value in Nouwen’s work:
My wife, Kay, recommends this book: “It’s a short book, but it hits at the heart of the minister. It mentions the struggles common to those of us in ministry: the temptation to be relevant, spectacular and powerful. I highlighted almost every word!”10 (emphasis added)
The book Kay Warren recommends is In the Name of Jesus by Nouwen, who devotes an entire chapter of that book to contemplative prayer, saying:
Through the discipline of contemplative prayer, Christian leaders have to learn to listen to the voice of love . . . For Christian leadership to be truly fruitful in the future, a movement from the moral to the mystical is required.11 (emphasis added)
But just as Merton had absorbed eastern spirituality so too had Nouwen, which is no surprise because he was a disciple of Merton. Nouwen wrote the foreword to a book that mixes Christianity with Hindu spirituality, in which he says:
[T]he author shows a wonderful openness to the gifts of Buddhism, Hinduism and Moslem religion. He discovers their great wisdom for the spiritual life of the Christian . . . Ryan [the author] went to India to learn from spiritual traditions other than his own. He brought home many treasures and offers them to us in the book.12
Nouwen apparently took these approaches seriously himself. In his book, The Way of the Heart, he advised his readers:
The quiet repetition of a single word can help us to descend with the mind into the heart . . . This way of simple prayer . . . opens us to God’s active presence.13
But what “God’s active presence” taught him, unfortunately, stood more in line with Hinduism than evangelical Christianity. He wrote:
Prayer is “soul work” because our souls are those sacred centers where all is one, . . . It is in the heart of God that we can come to the full realization of the unity of all that is.14 (emphasis mine)
Again, a Christian admirer of Nouwen may think the previous quotes could fit into a legitimate Christian experience of God’s love and grace and that I am just taking these out of context. But this is certainly not the case. Nouwen himself revealed his spiritual influences in his diary, Sabbatical Journey, which he wrote shortly before his death:
On our way to the health club I had bought a Walkman to listen to an audiotape with a talk by Matthew Fox called “Creation, Spirituality, and the Seven Chakras.” So, while working up a sweat on the trotter, I tried to make my time useful listening to Matthew Fox.15
This piece of information reveals that Nouwen was connected to the idea that the chakras, (which the previous quotes are based on) are integral to spiritual development. The crown chakra, in particular, is the one that is tied to the idea that all is one and the unity of everything that is.16
In the book, The Essential Henri Nouwen, which is published by Shambhala Publications (a Buddhist publishing house), Nouwen said contemplative prayer “opens our eyes to the presence of the divine Spirit in all that surrounds us.”17 That is exactly the same as what Merton meant by dharmakaya, that God is in everything that exists (panentheism, which mirrors occultism).
Thomas Keating Thomas Keating, a trappist monk like Merton, is head of an organization called Contemplative Outreach. He is closely identified with the contemplative prayer (which he calls centering prayer) movement. Keating has written numerous books on the subject of contemplative prayer; in fact, one of evangelical Christianity’s most popular teachers, Ruth Haley Barton, considers Keating to be a strong spiritual influence in her life.18
Keating actually makes this point when he informs his readers that “‘meditation’ means to people exposed to Eastern methods what we Christians mean by contemplation as a way of disregarding the usual flow of thoughts for certain periods of time.”19
As with the others, Keating went in a Hindu or New Age direction, and he wrote the foreword to a book devoted to what practitioners of Yoga call the Kundalini or serpent power:
Since this energy [kundalini] is also at work today in numerous persons who are devoting themselves to contemplative prayer, this book is an important contribution to the renewal of the Christian contemplative tradition. It will be a great consolation to those who have experienced physical symptoms arising from the awakening of kundalini in the course of their spiritual journey . . . Most spiritual disciplines world-wide insist on some kind of serious discipline before techniques of awakening kundalini are communicated. In Christian tradition . . . the regular practice of the stages of Christian prayer . . . contemplation are the essential disciplines.20
To show how far someone can stray using contemplative prayer as a way to reach God, Keating is a perfect example. Keating enthusiastically endorses a book titled Meditations on the Tarot: A Journey in Christian Hermeticism. Fortune-telling Tarot cards are one of the major tools for divination in occultism; and Hermeticism is a set of ancient esoteric beliefs based on the writings of Hermes Trismegistus, the one who coined the occult term “as above so below.” Keating said the book is one of the “great spiritual classics of this century.”21 He drifted so afield from even Catholicism that it is difficult to comprehend.
Richard Rohr Without a doubt, Catholic priest Richard Rohr is one of the most prominent living proponents of contemplative prayer today. His organization, The Center for Contemplation and Action, is a bastion for contemplative spirituality. And like our other contemplative prayer “school” masters, he has been embraced by numerous popular evangelical authors. Richard Foster, for example, had Rohr on an advisory board for a 2010 book Foster edited titled 25 Books Every Christian Should Read: A Guide to the Essential Devotional Classics.22
Rohr has essentially become the new Thomas Merton to an entirely new generation of evangelical Christians. In an interview, Rohr said:
[O]ne of my publishers . . . told me that right now my single biggest demographic is young evangelicals—young evangelicals. Some of my books are rather heavy. I’m just amazed.23
Rohr’s statement is correct about young evangelicals. A case in point is an organization called IF: Gathering. The leaders of IF are dynamic energetic women who hold large conferences geared primarily toward young evangelical women. While these women may be sincere in what they are trying to do, they promote figures such as emergent leaders Brian McLaren and Rob Bell, as well as Richard Rohr. Lighthouse Trails has published a booklet on IF that I encourage you to read to understand the full scope of this growing women’s movement.24
To further understand the significance of this, Rohr is a prominent champion for the idea of a global religion that would unify the world. He says that “religion needs a new language.”25 And that language to bring about this one-world religion is mysticism (i.e., contemplative prayer)! Rohr stated:
Right now there is an emergence . . . it’s coming from so many different traditions and sources and parts of the world. Maybe it’s an example of the globalization of spirituality.26
This view ties in perfectly with the emerging church’s perspective that is so popular among younger evangelicals today. It’s no wonder that Richard Rohr and emerging church leaders (such as Brian McLaren) are so supportive of each other and endorse each other’s books.
In echoing Merton and Nouwen, Rohr also advocates the concept of dharmakaya. This is the recurring theme of the “school” of contemplative prayer. Rohr states:
God’s hope for humanity is that one day we will all recognize that the divine dwelling place is all of creation. Christ comes again whenever we see that matter and spirit co-exist. This truly deserves to be called good news.27
To dispel any confusion about what Rohr is saying, he makes it clear in the same paragraph what he means by God dwelling in all creation. He uses a term that one finds throughout contemplative literature, which signifies that Christ is more of an energy than a personal being. Rohr explains the term “cosmic Christ,” telling readers that everything and everyone belongs to God’s kingdom.28 That’s even the name of one of his books, Everything Belongs: The Gift of Contemplative Prayer.
In his 2011 book, Falling Upward, Rohr implies that we (humanity) are all an “immaculate conception.”29 If these things are true, then there was no need for Jesus Christ to die on the Cross for the sins of mankind. We would not need a Savior because we would already be divine ourselves. In truth, contemplative spirituality is the antithesis of the Gospel. That is why there are countless mystics who claim to know God (or Jesus) but will have nothing to do with the Cross.
The New Age Connection Lighthouse Trails Publishing’s main endeavor since its inception has been to show the strong connection between the contemplative prayer movement and the broader spectrum of New Age spirituality as pointed out at the beginning of this booklet. One can prove the overwhelmingly strong parallels. The authors I have just profiled are not unique in what they say. I could list several pages of other contemplative authors that say the identical things.
I want to showcase one other author who represents the typical contemplative viewpoint. Tom Harpur, a well-known author, broadcaster, and Anglican priest in Canada sums up what you would find in virtually every contemplative book from the Roman Catholic and Anglican tradition. In talking about his upbringing in the traditional Anglican church, he explains the radical difference between his former Christianity and his contemplative Christianity:
There was much more emphasis on our basic sinfulness and depravity than there ever was on the possibility of God already being present in our souls or “hearts.” I was told to again accept Christ and “let him come in” instead of being helped to acknowledge the fact that all I had to do was to open my inner eye and realize God was already there waiting to be known and followed. We were taught little, if anything, about the great mystics and about the long tradition of meditation in our own Christian faith.30 (emphasis added)
Harpur makes Lighthouse Trails’ point very succinctly that the mystical tradition that is coming to the forefront now does not correspond to the biblical Gospel that has been at the heart of Christianity.
Let me say this: If the contemplative prayer movement was not connected to historically respected denominations, that if it was an independent organization such as the ones found in books on cults, then the contemplative prayer movement would be labeled a cult by most evangelical organizations because of the extreme aberrations one finds concerning the Gospel. Merton’s dharmakaya cannot be reconciled with justification through faith by the blood of Christ.
The Age of Enlightenment Another good example to show that contemplative prayer shares the same view as known occultists can be found in a book called Tomorrow’s God by New Age author Neale Donald Walsch, in which he presents the coming world religion that will unify mankind in what is called the Age of Aquarius or Age of Enlightenment (i.e., the New Age). He says the first step is to “[b]egin a schedule of daily practice in meditation, deep prayer, silent listening.”31 After giving the mechanics of the new spirituality, Walsch gives the theology which is: “In the days of the New spirituality the unity of all things will be experiential.”32
This is what the contemplatives experience in their mystical sessions. Walsch again says, “The Big Idea is that there is only One God, and this one God does not care whether you are Catholic or Protestant, Jewish or Muslim, Hindu or Mormon, or have no religion at all.”33 This is basically what Richard Rohr is saying in Everything Belongs. And this is the reason why Richard Foster’s “school” of contemplative prayer is not, and never will be, compatible with traditional biblical Christianity or the Gospel message proclaimed by Jesus Christ and his disciples.
Final Thoughts If I were to ever meet someone who asked me, “why are you out to destroy Richard Foster?,” I would tell them: I actually care about Richard Foster. The things I write about him are not out of malice or ill-will but out of a deep sense of commitment to his and his readers’ spiritual well-being. Celebration of Discipline is at the heart (both directly or indirectly) of the majority of Spiritual Formation programs in Bible schools, seminaries, Christian colleges, and universities. What the Tibetan holy man said in response to Thomas Merton’s belief—“There must be something wrong here!”—is the same sentiment that propels the writing of this booklet. There is something wrong here!
Contrary to what the contemplatives teach, there is duality, and the Bible teaches it—there are the sheep and the goats, the wheat and the tares, the saved and the unsaved, and the righteous and the unrighteous. New Age thinkers would reject this because they believe all is God. In the contemplative camp when Richard Rohr says everything belongs, this is what makes it New Age. The golden calf and Yahweh are not the same God. It was the cause for God’s anger. Simply put, everything does not belong!
My prayer is that people can see the logic in this. And what makes it even more imperative is that this contemplative view comes from supernatural sources. We are not dealing with just human perspectives and ideas.
Richard Foster’s “school” of contemplative prayer employs the same methods as those of Richard Rohr and Thomas Merton that lead to a certain perception. The following quote by Foster further illustrates this:
We shut out every other source of stimulation—sensual, intellectual and reflective—in order to focus on God alone. At this level, we even move beyond our thoughts of God in order to dwell in his presence without thought or distraction.34
This is exactly the contemplative prayer that Thomas Merton embraced, which led Episcopal priest Brian C. Taylor to say:
The God he [Merton] knew in prayer was the same experience that Buddhists describe in their enlightenment.35
What we conclude is that Thomas Merton’s spirituality has come into the evangelical church through Richard Foster’s “school” of contemplative prayer. And this is one school where no Christian should enroll.

A cleverly devised plan is underway declaring the Reformation is over. The “Holy Spirit” is supposedly uniting the church for a mighty revival before Jesus returns. Ecumenical madness is spreading like a virus. Few pastors take the time to listen carefully to what the present pope himself is saying. He is all for unity with anyone and everyone who will join with Rome. This is what the Jesuit agenda is all about, to unite all people and all religions under the authority of Rome. And for the first time in history, the Roman Catholic Church has a Jesuit pope! When you consider that the first Jesuits five hundred years ago were commissioned by the pope to do whatever it takes to bring an end to the Reformation and then consider the efforts being made today by the papacy and some Protestants (such as the late Tony Palmer) to end the Reformation, it’s a chilling scenario.
The ecumenical wheel has many spokes, but all the spokes lead to the hub. The hub is the Vatican located in Rome with the pope on the throne of “Peter.” From there, the “kingdom of God” will be established. In an article titled, “Pope’s Mass: We’re not Christian Without the Church,” reporting on Pope Francis speaking to a large group assembled for Mass, we read:
There is no such thing as a Christian without the Church, a Christian who walks alone, because Jesus inserted himself into the journey of His people: This was Pope Francis’ reflection at Mass this morning in Casa Santa Marta. Beginning with the first reading of the day, Pope Francis said that when they proclaimed Jesus the apostles did not begin with Him, but the history of the people. In fact “Jesus does not make sense without this history” because He “is the end of this story, [the end] towards which this story goes, towards which it walks.”1 (brackets in original)
Obviously, with Pope Francis speaking to a group assembled before him as he is presiding over the Mass, when he says “church,” he is talking about the Catholic Church. Anyone who doubts he was addressing the Roman Catholic “faithful,” the following quote will confirm this:
Looking forward, the Christian is a man, a woman of hope. And in this, the Christian follows the path of God and renews the covenant with God. He continually says to the Lord: “Yes, I want the commandments, I want your will, I will follow you.” He is a man of the covenant, and we celebrate the covenant, every day in the Mass: thus a Christian is “a woman, a man of the Eucharist.”2
Or consider the following information available at the Catholic website Catholicism.org:
“Outside the Church there is no salvation” (extra ecclesiam nulla salus) is a doctrine of the Catholic Faith that was taught by Jesus Christ to His Apostles, preached by the Fathers, defined by popes and councils and piously believed by the faithful in every age of the Church. Here is how the Popes defined it:
  • “There is but one universal Church of the faithful, outside which no one at all is saved.” (Pope Innocent III, Fourth Lateran Council, 1215.)
  • “We declare, say, define, and pronounce that it is absolutely necessary for the salvation of every human creature to be subject to the Roman Pontiff.” (Pope Boniface VIII, the Bull Unam Sanctam, 1302.)
  • “The most Holy Roman Church firmly believes, professes and preaches that none of those existing outside the Catholic Church, not only pagans, but also Jews and heretics and schismatics, can have a share in life eternal; but that they will go into the eternal fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels, unless before death they are joined with Her; and that so important is the unity of this ecclesiastical body that only those remaining within this unity can profit by the sacraments of the Church unto salvation, and they alone can receive an eternal recompense for their fasts, their almsgivings, their other works of Christian piety and the duties of a Christian soldier. No one, let his almsgiving be as great as it may, no one, even if he pour out his blood for the Name of Christ, can be saved, unless he remain within the bosom and the unity of the Catholic Church.” (Pope Eugene IV, the Bull Cantate Domino, 1441.)3
Who Has the Keys to the Kingdom If you have ever walked around St. Peter’s Square in Rome, you will know there is a statue of Peter before you enter the basilica, illustrating one of the main pillars of the Roman Catholic Church. The statue represents Peter, the disciple Catholics claim was the one Jesus chose to become the first Pope. The claim is that Roman Catholicism is the only true representation of Christianity because its beliefs can be traced back to the appointment of Peter as the successor of Jesus. He was handed the “keys to the Kingdom” by Jesus, they say.
In order to trace the origin of this claim, we need to go to the Scriptures and check out if this claim is valid. It is based on the portion of Scripture found in Matthew chapter 16 when Jesus asked the disciples the question who do they say I am?:
When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ. From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. (Matthew 16: 13-21)
While Roman Catholics avidly believe Jesus chose a man to succeed Him to head the Church, that is not what Jesus said. Jesus was responding to the question He had asked and Peter had answered. Peter said, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” The rock or the foundational belief that Christianity would be based on would not be following a man. The foundation was about knowing who Jesus is and the role He plays in history. This key was the key to the Kingdom of Heaven, not a key to a kingdom established here on Earth by a man even though it might be in the name of Jesus.
According to Roman Catholic dogma, the succession of popery throughout the ages has made the claim that salvation can only be dispensed by Rome. From the beginning, at Philippi, Jesus made it clear to the disciples and Peter that in no way should any man be followed and given a title to indicate he is a form of Jesus Christ in the flesh.
When Jesus told the disciples what would happen to Him and that He would suffer, die, and be resurrected, Peter refused to believe this vital message which fulfills the Gospel according to the Scriptures: The Bible states: “Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee” (Matthew 16: 22).
Jesus immediately responded to Peter’s heretical claim by saying: “Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men” (Matthew 16: 23).
Therein lies the error that has been passed down through the generations and has impacted not only the Roman Catholic Church but many Protestant pastors and leaders who profess to believe the Gospel of Jesus. It is man that gets between God and man. Men not only misunderstand what Jesus said about the rock or foundation that Christianity should be built upon, men take the position of the Good Shepherd and make the claim that they, and only they, have been given custody over the keys to the kingdom.
Kingdom-Now Evangelicals While Rome leads the way with the bold claim that God chose Peter and the succeeding popes to take the title of “Vicar of Christ” and determine what the sheep should or should not believe, other groups believe they have been called to usher in or even prepare and set up the kingdom of God here on Earth without the presence of the King. Often taking the position that Jesus will not actually physically return to rule and reign for a period of one thousand years, this group sees itself as chosen by God to be human vessels for this purpose.
Common names for this teaching are: Kingdom Now, Dominion Theology, and Reconstructionism. It is the idea that before Christ can return, the world must be brought together in unity and perfection, and this work will be done by the Christian church. Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven P.E.A.C.E. Plan, Jim Wallis’ social gospel agenda, and Tony Campolo or Brian McLaren’s emergent church are a few of the avenues through which this is being propagated. The goal is to basically eradicate all the world’s ills (e.g., disease, poverty, terrorism, and pollution) and thus, we will have created a “Heaven on Earth” Utopia.
While creating such a world sounds very good, it is not what the Bible says is going to happen. Many Scriptures, in both the Old and New Testaments, describe a very different scenario, such as the following:
Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. (Matthew 24:9-14)
The following list of the some of the erroneous teachings in Kingdom-Now theology illustrate how dangerous this belief system is, yet it has tremendously pervaded the church today:
  • Prophetic Scriptures are denied or fulfilled in 70 AD (as is also the belief of preterism).
  • The church is the new Israel (replacement theology)
  • Armageddon is the ongoing battle between the forces of light and darkness.
  • The Antichrist is a spirit, not an actual person.
  • We are already in the Tribulation, but at the same time, we are in the Millennium. It doesn’t get any stranger! It’s one or the other.
  • Rather than following traditional Bible prophecy, they follow “new revelations.”
  • Modern-day prophets must be obeyed and not judged for their inaccuracy.
  • They want to restore the Edenic nature even though Eden is where sin began.4
This movement has swept the planet, and those who refuse to join hands are considered “colonial,” “militant fundamentalists,” and “narrow-minded crackpots” who are not willing to catch the “new wave” and get on board with the mighty revival that is moving the world toward unity and peace. Many of the leaders in this movement have no problem whatsoever joining with the pope in Rome and the kingdom-of-Earth plans he has for joining together with other religions, including Islam.
While some discerning Christians can see how this trend plays a role in light of Bible prophecy, there is a huge portion of Christianity that does not. These are those who are reading books by authors who promote emerging church (or “progressive Christianity”) ideas for the postmodern generation that reject the teachings of the Bible and embrace establishing the kingdom of God on Earth right now. They are willing to join hands with other religions by reinventing Christianity into a “broad-way” spirituality where all are saved and part of God’s Kingdom. No longer do they believe in the “narrow road” to eternity. The kingdom of God is for all religions, they say (and even for those who believe in nothing). Unity, peace, connectedness, and oneness is all that matters, while biblical doctrine is being set aside as irrelevant to the “new reformation” at hand. Obviously, such a view leaves little room for the Cross and the biblical Gospel. And Scriptures such as this one are overlooked:
And he [Jesus] went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are. (Luke 13:22-25; emphasis added)
Unfortunately, while there may be many pastors, like Rick Warren, who still hold to a personal belief in Jesus Christ as their Savior, the time will come when the path they are now taking may cost them dearly. It is my hope that these leaders might wake up to see what they are doing before it is too late. And let us not forget the countless number of people following these shepherds who may never embrace a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ because of the truths being withheld from them for the sake of “peace” and “unity.”
It is also grievous to know that a good number of “Christian” leaders no longer believe (or have never believed) in the Cross as a propitiation for sin but maintain their belief that such a concept is both archaic and barbaric. They hold to the view that Christianity needs to be reinvented for our times. Brian McLaren, who in 2015 represented “Christianity” at the Parliament of the World Religions in Utah, holds to just such a view. In one interview, he said that the idea of God sending His Son to a violent death is “false advertising for God” and he equally rejected the doctrine of Hell as well.5
In addition, McLaren has played a significant role in promoting kingdom-now theology as can be seen in his book The Secret Message of Jesus: Uncovering the Truth That Could Change Everything. McLaren, who was once listed by Time Magazine as one of the top 25 most influential persons associated with evangelical Christianity, has sought to upgrade the Christian faith in order to make it relevant for today. He asks a number of questions at the beginning of his book that imply the church has misrepresented Jesus’ core message and promotes the idea that Christians need to be honest with themselves even if that means altering their faith. In this book, he makes the following statement:
Sadly, for centuries at a time in too many places to count, the Christian religion has downplayed, misconstrued, or forgotten the secret message of Jesus entirely. Instead of being about the kingdom of God coming to earth, the Christian religion has too often been preoccupied with abandoning or escaping the earth and going to heaven . . . We have betrayed the message that the kingdom of God is available for all, beginning with the least and last and the lost—and have instead believed and taught that the kingdom of God is available for the elite, beginning with the correct and the clean and the powerful.6
In McLaren’s 2016 book titled The Great Spiritual Migration: How the World’s Largest Religion is Seeking a Better Way to be Christian, he describes this all-inclusive “kingdom of God” that incorporates “multifaith [i.e., all religions] collaborations.” He states:
This kind of collaboration leads to a fresh understanding of what it means to evangelize. I was taught that it meant converting people to the one true religion, namely, my own [Christianity]. Now I believe evangelism means inviting people into heart-to-heart communion and collaboration with God and neighbors in the great work of healing the earth, of building the beloved community, of seeking first the kingdom of God and God’s justice for all. Members of each tradition bring their unique gifts to the table, ready to share and receive, learn and teach, give and take, in a spirit of generosity and vulnerability. Neither my neighbors nor I are obligated or expected to convert. . . . As we work together for the common good, we are all transformed. Those who haven’t experienced this kind of transforming collaboration simply don’t know what they’re missing. . . . Through multifaith collaborations, I have come to see how the language Paul used about one body with many members (1 Corinthians 12, Romans 12: 4– 5) applies not only to differing gifts among individual Christians but also to differing gifts among religions.7 (emphasis added)
While many evangelicals have now pushed Brian McLaren to the sidelines of evangelical Christianity, others have continued carrying on his message, sometimes in more subtle ways. But as the Bible says, there is nothing new under the sun. Satan’s devices are always in play. His goal is to destroy the message of the Cross, and while he cannot ever actually destroy it, he can cause untold numbers to reject it by offering them substitutes. But we know there is no substitute for the finished work on the Cross by Jesus Christ, who is the only Savior for mankind.
What Does This Tell Us? There is a common cliché: if it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, and has feathers like a duck—it is a duck! In this article, we have touched on three different areas with regard to establishing the kingdom of God on Earth right now without the King. Is this what Jesus intended would happen, or are we being misled by human beings who are following the thoughts of their own imagination or worse yet the inspiration of Satan?
While the idea that the kingdom of God is being established here on Earth by human leaders has been around for centuries, we should pay special attention when current events reveal that though the world gets worse and worse, we are being told it is getting better and better. When false religions become part of the kingdom, then clearly, this is not God’s kingdom, but rather it is the kingdom that belongs to the god of this world. Jesus made it very clear there are two kingdoms—one of God and one of this world—when he told Pontius Pilate shortly before He was crucified, “My kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36). Jesus also said to Pilate in that same conversation “Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.” Ask yourself this, are you hearing the voice of the Good Shepherd, or is it the voice of the god of this world who leads a kingdom that is not of God?

The Enneagram—An Enlightening Tool or an Enticing Deception?

By Lois Putnam and the Editors at Lighthouse Trails
Today, there is an increasing amount of interest by Christians in the Enneagram, a nine-pointed diagram used to determine personality traits and character tendencies. While it may seem harmless and nothing more than a useful tool, the Enneagram is a seducing lure to deception and an example of what the Bible refers to as “the wiles of the Devil.” In this booklet, we hope to show how this tool is drawing participants away from biblical truth and in an enticing but dangerous direction.
A book titled The Wisdom of the Enneagram by Don Riso and Russ Hudson describes the Enneagram, stating:
The Enneagram . . . is a development of modern psychology that has roots in spiritual wisdom from many different ancient traditions. 1
The Enneagram Institute, a go-to website for information on the Enneagram, says:
The Enneagram . . . [is] one of the most powerful and insightful tools for understanding ourselves and others. At its core, the Enneagram helps us to see ourselves at a deeper, more objective level and can be of invaluable assistance on our path to self-knowledge.2
A 2017 Religion News Service article states:
In 1990, Franciscan Fr. Richard Rohr effectively Christianized the [Enneagram] system for Americans when he published “The Enneagram: A Christian Perspective” in English. This sparked a growing interest that slowly crept into church pulpits and small groups. In 2016, Christianity Today published “An Evangelical’s Guide to the Enneagram” after InterVarsity Press became the first evangelical publisher to release a book on the topic.3
While the Enneagram’s popularity within the Christian church has continued to grow, especially among millennials, there have been those in the church who have voiced their concerns about the Enneagram. Martin and Deidre Bobgan, who have studied psychology from a biblical perspective for many years, say this about the Enneagram:
Although the Enneagram is purported to be an ancient spiritual tradition, it is relatively new to the Western world. George Ivanovitch Gurdjieff, who brought the Enneagram to Europe in the 1920s, claimed it originated about 2500 years ago in a Babylonian wisdom school. He taught that each person is born with a “planetary body type” with certain physical and psychological traits. He believed that a person’s physical and psychological characteristics are related to a dominant endocrine gland and to planetary influences on that gland. This implicates the Enneagram with Babylonian astrology, since those characteristics would be signified by a point on the Enneagram.4
Apologist and author Mike Oppenheimer says this about the Enneagram:
Enneagram claims to be an entry point for deep personal healing and renewal. Enneagram is a psychological and spiritual system for a higher consciousness. We are told it will help us understand the personality types and the differences in each other which should reduce unnecessary conflicts (transforming one into a more tolerant person). We can transform our habits by being our own observer in how we think and go from unconscious behavior to conscious behavior. This is done through a series of probing questions called a Personality Profile questionnaire where one learns what his or her type is. . . . The nine lines comprise a perfect triangle and a twisted hexagon contained within a circle. This is a New Age-type mandala, a mystical gateway to personality classification. The drawing is based upon a belief in the mystical properties of the numbers 7 and 3. 5

Richard Rohr’s Role

At the very epicenter of today’s Enneagram movement is Franciscan priest Father Richard Rohr, founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC). Rohr’s website states:
Seven of the nine Enneagram types are associated with the “capital” or “deadly” sins which originated with the Desert Fathers. But it was not until the late 1960s that Oscar Ichazo began teaching the Enneagram as we know it today. From Ichazo’s school in South America, a group of Jesuits learned the system and brought it back with them to the United States. Richard Rohr learned about the Enneagram from this group and was one of the first people to publish a book about it in English.
The Enneagram gained popularity as a tool within spiritual direction.* Today it is widely taught as a way of understanding personality, addiction, relationships, and vocation.6 (emphasis added)
After Rohr learned about the Enneagram in the 1970s, he shared his Enneagram teaching on ten tapes, later writing his now classic best-selling book, Discovering the Enneagram: An Ancient Tool for a New Spiritual Journey (now titled The Enneagram: A Christian Perspective).
In Rohr’s book, he explains that the underlying premise behind the Enneagram is that each person has a “true self and a “false self,” and with the help of the Enneagram, we can identify our true selves, and thus having identified it, we can now be spiritually transformed to live in that true self. Rohr explains:
[Co-author] Andreas Ebert and I again offer the Enneagram as a very ancient Christian tool for the discernment of spirits, the struggle with our capital sin, our “false self,” and the encounter with our True Self in God.7
When Rohr, who is an outspoken panentheist, says “True Self in God,” he is referring to his belief that the true self is the God within every human being. In echoing the Catholic mystics Thomas Merton and Henri Nouwen, Rohr advocates the concept of dharmakaya. Rohr states:
God’s hope for humanity is that one day we will all recognize that the divine dwelling place is all of creation. Christ comes again whenever we see that matter and spirit co-exist. This truly deserves to be called good news.8 (emphasis added)
To further understand what Rohr means when he says, “the divine [God] dwelling place is all of creation,” we need to understand his views about Jesus Christ. In an article on Rohr’s website titled, “The Cosmic Christ,” he says that Christ is more of an energy than a personal being:
Christ is not Jesus’ last name, but the title of his historical and cosmic purpose. Jesus presents himself as the “Anointed” or Christened One who was human and divine united in one human body—as our model and exemplar. . . . This Christ is much bigger and older than either Jesus of Nazareth or the Christian religion, because the Christ is whenever the material and the divine co-exist—which is always and everywhere. . . . The coming of the Cosmic Christ is not the same as the growth of the Christian religion. It is the unification of all things.9
For Rohr, Christ and humanity are not separate because Christ is not a person (or God come in the flesh to save man from his sins) but is an energy that exists in everyone and everything. Man’s only problem isn’t that he is sinful; rather, it is that he doesn’t realize he already has divinity within him. This is where the Enneagram comes in, for according to Rohr the Enneagram is a “key to self-knowledge,”10 and the goal for using the Enneagram is “an awakening of true self-love [i.e., the divinity within].”11

Rohr’s Enneagram Disciples

Some of Richard Rohr’s most popular “disciples” who carry on his Enneagram teachings include Ian Morgan Cron, Suzanne Stabile, and Chris and Phileena Heuertz (though countless others have been influenced by Rohr). Since each of these people has written Enneagram books and are key presenters and teachers of Enneagram programs, let us examine them to further understand the Enneagram.

Ian Morgan Cron’s Road to Self

Episcopal priest Ian Morgan Cron is a best-selling author and psychotherapist. He wrote the best-selling book (co-authored by Suzanne Stabile), The Road Back to You: An Enneagram Journey to Self-Discovery (published by InterVarsity Press). In chapter one, Cron relates how as a grad student, he found Rohr’s Enneagram book at a conservative seminary retreat. Upon showing it to his professor, he was told to get rid of it. Cron confided:
I was a young, impressionable evangelical, and though my gut told me my professor’s reaction bordered on paranoid, I followed his advice.12
Although, as Cron wrote, he didn’t read the book until later when he was re-introduced to it by his spiritual director, “Br. Dave.” Upon reading it, he tells how he discussed with Br. Dave his initial reactions to the Enneagram. As they talked, Cron shared a Thomas Merton quote with him which read:
Sooner or later we must distinguish what we are not and what we are. . . . We must cast off our false, exterior self like the cheap showy garment it is . . . We must find our real self, in all its elemental poverty, but also in its grand and very simple dignity created to be the child of God, and capable of loving with something of God’s own sincerity and his unselfishness.13 (emphasis added)
The theme of the “self” permeates Cron’s book. In fact, the word “self” is in his book over 160 times (e.,g., “self-knowledge,” “self-aware,” “real self,” “self-understanding,” “authentic self,” the “original shimmering self,” “true self,” “deep knowing of self,” “self-confident,” “self-actualized,” and so forth). Cron states:
[B]y overidentifying who we are with our personality we forget or lose touch with our authentic self—the beautiful essence of who we are . . . we have a God who . . . remembers who we are . . . and he wants to help restore us to our authentic selves.14
Here, when Cron equates the “authentic self” (i.e., true self) with “the beautiful essence of who we are,” he echoes Richard Rohr’s belief that within each person is divinity. Contrary to Rohr’s and Cron’s building up of the “true self” as divine and beautiful, the Bible speaks otherwise:
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. (Psalm 51:5)
Cron a “champion of the Enneagram,” and “pioneer in the contemporary Enneagram movement” tells us who he is in his “Manifesto.” He begins with:
Today I will throw my hat into the ring of life. . . . I will stand on my own two feet and live my truth.15
Like so many in today’s post-modern “progressive” Western world, Cron will do his own thing and decide his own beliefs. To the contrary, Scripture reminds us that Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father but by me.” A believer in Christ is not called to live his own truth but rather follow the One who says He is “the truth.” At the end of his Manifesto, Cron declares, “Today I will be my True Self.”16 This is the Enneagram’s goal like the book title says, The Road Back to You. Full of I, I, I.

Cron and Rohr Interview

Ian Cron hosts an Enneagram podcast titled “Typology. In “Episode 014: Richard Rohr, Finally Getting Over Your ‘Self’ with the Enneagram Pt.1,” Ian interviews Richard Rohr. He asks Rohr what has caused the “tidal wave of interest culturally and in church of personality identity”17 using the Enneagram. Rohr says its because we’ve done such a bad job of teaching Christians their “true identity.” We didn’t, he espouses, teach people about their images and their likeness of God. Rohr says most Christians find their identity in their group or denomination and never understand who they themselves are.
The crux of the interview is when Rohr asserts we don’t know our individual “Imago Dei” which cannot be given to us or taken away from us. This idea levels the “playing field of all humanity”18 says Rohr. Distinctions such as black and white, Catholic and Protestant, American and Canadian, or gay and straight do not mean anything. Rohr says that the “true gospel must be proclaimed that everything—humans, animals, or materials—is created in the image of a trinitarian and loving God.”19 Therefore, says Rohr, that settles all questions. For then we are all “universal children of God,”20 and thus, we are in “union” with all other children of God. Why? Rohr says it is because we all have the divine and the beautiful in us from the very start.
How contrary to the biblical Gospel that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, and that in order to become a child of God, we must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. In Enneagramism, it’s not about sinners (“none that doeth good”—Romans 3:12) needing to be redeemed by a Holy God. There is no need for that. Rather, after working through our false self-delusions to find our true selves, we come to the realization that we have always been lovely and good. Ian Morgan Cron’s view of the self stands in stark contrast to the apostle Paul’s description when he says he has “no confidence in the flesh” (Philippians 3:3).

Suzanne Stabile

Suzanne Stabile, Cron’s co-author of the book The Road Back to You, is an internationally recognized Enneagram master, teacher, and author. Like Cron, Stabile is a great admirer of Richard Rohr and one of Rohr’s Enneagram disciples. After meeting Rohr, Stabile was so enamored with Rohr’s Enneagram program that she studied under him, consenting not to teach or share the material for five years.
At present, Stabile has conducted over 500 Enneagram workshops over the past 25 years, speaking to audiences at colleges, divinity schools, churches, and health centers. She has also taught at the Center for Action and Contemplation (Rohr’s contemplative center) and even internationally at Assisi with Rohr himself.
In a 2016 Houston Chronicle article titled, “Christians Rediscovering Ancient Enneagram,” Emily McFarlan Miller said she met Cron and Stabile at a Chicago Enneagram conference. Miller noted that Cron “thought the Enneagram was ‘genius,’ and saw nothing in it that conflicted with the gospel.”21 She wrote that Cron found it fascinating that even “the (conservative) evangelicals were completely fine with it.”22 Miller said that Stabile hoped that “teaching people to learn about the way they see the world and eight other ways people see the world will encourage compassion.”23 Stabile told Miller, “Our hope is that the book makes the world a more compassionate, more loving, and more generous place.”24 And this is the promise of the Enneagram, to make people (and the world) more compassionate, generous, and loving. The premise is, if we can somehow gain access to understanding our True Selves (i.e., the divine part of us), then we will become compassionate and loving individuals thus making the world a better place. But can the Enneagram accomplish this? If the premise is correct, then perhaps so. But according to the Holy Word of God, the premise of the Enneagram couldn’t be further from the truth.

Chris Heuertz

Chris Heuertz is another Rohr mentee and Enneagram enthusiast. Heuertz came from a Catholic family that converted to evangelicalism. His parents had six children. An article written by Jason Byassee titled “On the Side of Hope” describes how Heuertz’ parents worked seven jobs at one time just to send the children to private schools. Heuertz graduated from an Assembly of God high school and went on to Asbury College (now Asbury University).
In his book The Sacred Enneagram: Finding Your Unique Path to Spiritual Growth, Heuertz states that the Enneagram is a tool for “excavating our essence, our True Self, from the lies, programs, and temptations we’ve wrapped around our identity.”25 (emphasis in original)
Soon after graduation from Asbury, Heuertz joined Word Made Flesh ministry to work with “the most vulnerable of the world’s poor.”26 This was how he landed in Calcutta, India working with Mother Teresa. Here he was later joined by his wife Phileena. Of the WMF organization, Jason Byassee wrote:
Rejecting the idea that missionaries bring salvation and services to benighted poor people, WMF has learned . . . that the poor are Jesus. WMF or ‘Fleshies’ . . . do not necessarily seek to fix poverty or convert people. Their first intention is to seek friendship with the poor. And through that they seek, with their friends, to be converted anew to God.27
Speaking of the “model of missions,” Heuertz states:
If I bring anything, it’s presence and hope . . . We work to recognize the divine imprint in all humanity, then together we are all converted to God. I’m not bringing a poor kid with me to Christ. I’m following their journey to the places in God’s heart that break in the face of such suffering.28 (emphasis added)
The Heuertz’ social justice work with WMF took them to Cambodia where Heuertz encountered the Enneagram. Fascinated, Heuertz later would delve deeply into the Enneagram, abandon his WMF community, establish the Gravity Center, and write The Sacred Enneagram(which we will talk about a little later in this booklet).

Phileena Heuertz

Phileena Bacon Heuertz was two years behind Chris at Asbury College. Phileena came from an evangelical family, her father being a Wesleyan Methodist pastor in Indiana. While working with WMF, the Heuertzes began their contemplative journey upon meeting Catholic contemplative priest Thomas Keating of Snowmass, Colorado. From him, they learned centering prayer (a form of contemplative prayer). The more they dipped into this contemplative path, the further they separated from their evangelical backgrounds. Eventually, in 2012, they left the WMF to establish the Gravity Center for Contemplative Activism.
Throwing aside her evangelical Wesleyan past, Phileena converted to Catholicism for she believed its rituals, liturgy, and prayer practices would best enhance her “inner work” to shed her false self and find her true self.29
Along the way, the couple met Richard Rohr, imbibed deeply from his teaching, and locked arms with him. Today, Phileena is on Rohr’s CAC board. Rohr, in turn, wrote the foreword to Phileena’s 2018 book Mindful Silence: The Heart of Christian Contemplation. Phileena is considered one of the top young contemplative prayer activists today. She is a retreat guide, a spiritual director, and a Yoga instructor and has spoken at numerous Christian universities including Biola University and Taylor University.

The Sacred Enneagram

In 2017, Chris Heuertz wrote what became a best-selling book, The Sacred Enneagram (published by Zondervan). In the foreword, written by Richard Rohr, Rohr writes:
Chris Heuertz, my dear friend and confidante, has gone on his own journey of transformation, I am most happy to recommend his excellent book on the Enneagram to you. In its pages you will find excellent content, many new insights, and the compassion that genuine spirituality always provides . . . You will not be the same after you read this book.30
Rohr is also an integral part of the Heuertz’ Gravity Center, serving as a founding board member much like Phileena serves on his CAC board. In two chapters of Heuertz’ book, he unlocks his agenda for the reader to couple the Enneagram to contemplative practices to achieve finding one’s true self.

A Sacred Map?

Throughout the book, Heuertz uses terms such as “sacred experience,” “sacred Enneagram,” and “sacred map.” He says:
When we give ourselves to the hard work of integrating what we have come to learn about ourselves, the Enneagram becomesa sacred map of our soul, one that shows us the places where we have vulnerabilities or tendencies to get stuck as well as the possibilities of where we can go for deeper freedom and inner peace.31 (emphasis added)
Here we can see that Heuertz has exchanged what gives true freedom and peace for a powerless substitute—the Enneagram! There is only one true “sacred map,” and that is the Word of God.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
We do not find freedom and peace by identifying our “personality types” and discovering our “true selves.” The fact is, our true selves are our sinful, fleshly, carnal selves. It is only found in the person of Jesus Christ, who promises to come into our hearts and commune with us if we invite Him in and put our trust in Him (Revelation 3:20). Our Father in Heaven promises to deliver us from the kingdom of darkness (our fleshly carnal selves) into the kingdom of Light (through being born again into Christ).
[God] hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins. (Colossians 1:13-14)
The Enneagramites have missed the mark bigtime. They see the key to an abundant meaningful life lying in ourselves when in fact, it is quite the opposite as John the Baptist said when he proclaimed, “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30). Jesus said, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing” (John 6:63). Paul, the apostle, said, “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing” (Romans 7:18). How interesting (and sad) that Chris Heuertz uses the term “Fleshie” to describe himself. Fleshies put the emphasis on how good their true selves are. “Believers” put the emphasis on believing in the finished work of the Cross (how good Jesus Christ is).

The Inclusive Kingdom

Chris Heuertz’ book, The Sacred Enneagram, uses The Inclusive Bible (authored by “Priests for Equality”) for all its Scripture quotations. Billed as the first egalitarian translation, a blurb on Amazon says:
. . . it is a re-imagining of the scriptures and our relationship to them. . . . [offering] new and non-sexist ways to express the same ancient truths. . . . Priests for Equality is a movement of men and women . . . where sexism and exclusion are left behind.32
Leaving “exclusion” behind is another way to reject the Bible’s message that says the kingdom of God is exclusive to “whosoever” believes on Jesus Christ as their Savior. This is the opposite of “inclusive,” which is the teaching of universalism (all are saved) and interspirituality (all paths lead to God). This inclusivism is what the New Age is all about.

The True Self

In Heuertz’ The Sacred Enneagram, the term “True Self” (capitalized to show the supposed divine attribute) is used over sixty times such as in the following quote:
The Enneagram offers much more under the surface. Its various facets—the names and needs, the Holy Ideas and Virtues—give us practical handles to better identify and understand our type. By digging deeper into the why behind each type we start to unravel the mystery of our True Self and essential nature. This is the real substance we aim for.33 (emphasis added)
Again, in Scripture, there is nothing good about our “essential nature.” The late Ray Yungen, who studied the New Age for many years, explains:
The New Age and Christianity definitely clash on the answer to the question of human imperfection. The former—the New Age—espouses the doctrine of becoming self-realized and united with the universe, which they see as God but in reality is the realm of familiar spirits. On the other hand, the Gospel that Christians embrace offers salvation to humanity through grace (unmerited favor). Romans 3:24 boldly states: “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”
This gift is not earned or given as a reward for earnest or good intentions as Scripture clearly states: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).
This Scripture that tackles the issue of pride sharply distinguishes all of man’s religions from Christianity. Religion persuades us that man is innately good and, therefore, can earn his way to Heaven through human perfectibility or, better yet, through the realization of his own divinity. Christianity emphatically states the opposite view that man needs to humbly recognize his own sinfulness and fallibility, and consequently needs salvation through grace.
The Holy Spirit, through the Scripture, convicts the sinner of his sinful and lost condition and then presents God’s solution—salvation through the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on the Cross (Ephesians 1:7 and Romans 10:9-10).
It all comes down to the preaching of the higher self [i.e., “True Self”] versus the preaching of the Cross.34

Essential Virtue and Purity

Throughout The Sacred Enneagram, there are over one hundred diagrams of Enneacircles and Enneacharts. One of these (on page 108) is titled “Virtue Structure.” Of this chart, Heuertz writes:
I . . . emphasize Virtue because when we do return to our essence [i.e., True Self] . . . Our Virtue is the lingering fragrance of our essential purity; it is what makes each of us beautiful. . . . Of course, returning to our Virtue is familiar, like a homecoming, because it is who we have always been.35 (emphasis added)
God loves humanity. It is why He sent His Son to die on a Cross so that any person who believes on Him would be reconciled to God. And God does value us (He would never have sacrificed His Son to save us if He didn’t). But He does not love us or value us because we are pure or holy or virtuous; rather, He loves us and values us in spite of the fact we are not those things. He loves us because His very nature is love, forgiveness, and holiness; and no matter how much we learn about “ourselves,” we can never come close to matching the nature of God (although He does promise the born-again believer that we can be partakers of His nature—2 Peter 1:4. But being a “partaker” is not the same as owning it yourself. It is someone else’s, and you are given access to partake in and benefit from it).
You see, the Enneagram is the very antithesis of the Gospel. With the Enneagram, man is glorified; with the Gospel, God is glorified. And if we love God, how can we not desire to glorify Him who alone has done so many incredible and awesome things and will continue to throughout eternity. How can we, who cannot even create a speck of dust, glorify ourselves and not our Creator? Isaiah 42:8 says, “I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.”

Contemplative Prayer and the Enneagram

It is important to note that the majority of those who teach the Enneagram are proponents of contemplative prayer. In chapter ten of The Sacred Enneagram, “An Invitation to Inner Work,” Heuertz introduces the reader to three prayers that can be used “as an on-ramp to the . . . Christian contemplative tradition.”36 Introduced first is centering prayer: “Praying with the Feeling Center.” Of its relationship to the Enneagram, Heuertz states:
Centering prayer. . . is easily aligned with each specific Enneagram type, but even more so, it may be among the most effective in confronting the root additions of each of the Enneagram’s Intelligence Centers.37
Second is St. Ignatius of Loyola’s “The Examen: Praying with the Head Center.”38 Last is, “The Welcoming Prayer: Praying with the Instinctive Body Center” whose creator was Mary Mrozowski. Mrozowski was a Catholic mystic and lay contemplative who in 1983 attended the first ever “Centering Prayer” retreat experiment at the Lama Foundation in New Mexico.** It was she who helped found the Contemplative Outreach Ltd. She was also founder of the Chrysalis House which became “an incubator” of contemplative prayer practices, especially centering prayer.39 She was close to and encouraged by the late Thomas Keating.
In Phileena Heuertz’ book Mindful Silence, she explains how “incredibly helpful” the Enneagram is for “spiritual development.”40 She assures her readers that using the Enneagram is a crucial part of “expanding consciousness.”41 She says:
The Enneagram is a powerful resource for the contemplative path, for as it deconstructs the false self, it simultaneously reveals your true self.42
“Waking Up,” the last chapter, describes Phileena’s ongoing search “to live into your divine nature”43 as she took time for a hermitage at the Lama Foundation.*
In the foreword of Mindful Silence, Richard Rohr praises how quickly “contemplative teaching is occurring in our time.” He then says that “we are building on the Perennial Tradition.” Rohr describes what he means by “Perennial Tradition” in a 2015 article on his website:
The things I teach come from a combination of inner and outer authority, drawn from personal experience and a long lineage of the “perennial tradition” . . . The Perennial Tradition points to recurring themes and truths within all of the world’s religions.44 (emphasis added)
The Perennial Tradition (or Perennial Wisdom as it is also called) is the belief that all the different religions in the world are interconnected through metaphysics (mysticism). The fact that the “father” of today’s Enneagram movement (Rohr) promotes the Perennial Tradition in a book written by one of his foremost disciples—openly welcomed in mainstream evangelicalism—should not be overlooked or dismissed as irrelevant; nor should the Enneagram’s compatibility and connection with contemplative prayer and mysticism.

Christian Leaders Promoting the Enneagram

With the growing popularity of the Enneagram in the evangelical church, many well-known Christian leaders are coming out in favor of it. One of these is Mark Batterson, the senior pastor of a mega church in Washington, DC. and the author of the New York Times best-selling book, The Circle Maker: Praying Circles Around Your Biggest Dreams and Greatest Fears. Lighthouse Trails released a booklet in 2017 titled Circle Making and “Prayer Circles” Versus The Straight Line of Truth, which addresses Batterson’s teaching on “circle making,” a practice he popularized inspired from rituals of an ancient mystic name Honi. Our 2017 booklet states:
[Batterson convinces] people that if certain rituals or methods are performed, then things can be changed. In his 2017 book Whisper: How to Hear God’s Voice, Batterson continues with this mystical focus (i.e., contemplative spirituality). In one section, he gives a lesson on Lectio Divina, a practice that involves taking a word or phrase from Scripture and repeating it slowly, which is said to facilitate hearing God’s voice (in reality, Lectio Divina is a gateway practice to full-blown eastern-style meditation).45
Knowing Mark Batterson’s mystical propensities, we were not surprised to learn that Batterson had endorsed Ian Morgan Cron’s 2016 book on the Enneagram, The Road Back to You. Of Cron’s book, Batterson states:
Ian Morgan Cron, partnering with Suzanne Stabile, has gifted us with another timely and brilliantly written book. We’ve long needed a fresh, spiritually grounded approach to helping people grow in self-knowledge and compassion. This is a winsome and thoughtful primer!46
On a podcast called Typology, hosted by Ian Cron, Cron interviewed Batterson on October 24, 2019. The show’s title was “The Blessings of the Enneagram” where Batterson talked about he and his wife’s “journey” with the Enneagram.47
Numerous other evangelical leaders are rallying behind the Enneagram as well. New York Times best-selling author and president of Proverbs 31 Ministries Lysa TerKeurst was on Cron’s podcast in June of 2019 talking about how much the Enneagram means to her.48 Other evangelical figures who promote the Enneagram are William P. Young (author of The Shack), Michael Hyatt (former CEO of Thomas Nelson publishers), Aaron and Shawna Niequist (Shawna is Willow Creek’s Bill Hybels’ daughter), and Anita Lustrea (co-hosted Moody Radio’s Midday Connection program for 15 years).

The Enneagram or The Word of God?

The Enneagram focuses endlessly on the self through self-awareness, self-observation, self-motivation, self-knowledge, self-love, self-wound, self-this, and self-that. For as 2 Timothy 3:2 states, “For men shall be lovers of their own selves.” Through the “Sacred Enneagram,” it is said we’ll discover that underneath all our failures of our false selves, we’ll uncover our essence—that true self enabling us to make our world a better and more compassionate place.
On the other hand, God’s view of our “selves” is that at our core, we are sinners as Romans 3:23 declares, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked.” Therefore, we need to believe not in the power of the Enneagram or the voice heard in contemplative prayer but in a Savior who can save us from ourselves and our sins. Scripture says:
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8,9; emphasis added)
In the end, it is through the Word of God and the sacrifice on the Cross by Jesus Christ, not the Enneagram, where we can find out who we are and what we must do. In 1 Corinthians 2:5, Paul tells us:
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
And as Proverbs 9:10 reminds us, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom . . .” not the Enneagram! We pray that this enticing tool of deception will be rejected by Christian believers, pastors, and leaders.
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. (Colossians 2:8)

*Spiritual direction or spiritual directors are terms used in the contemplative prayer movement (i.e., Spiritual Formation movement). Contemplative spirituality is an ancient mystical prayer practice in which the participant goes into what is called “the silence” by repeating a word or phrase so that the mind is no longer distracted with thoughts. In this altered silent state, one can supposedly hear the voice of God and be spiritually transformed. Spiritual directors are utilized to help the contemplative meditator “discern” the voice and messages received during meditation. Rohr’s statement above reveals to us that the Enneagram and contemplative prayer (both based on mysticism) are very compatible with each other.
**The Lama Foundation is tied to a well-known spiritual teacher and New Age Hindu guru Ram Dass who wrote Be Here Now.

THE HORNET’S NEST OF MUHAMMAD’S ISLAM

THE HORNET’S NEST OF MUHAMMAD’S ISLAM
BY MATEEN ELASS
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
Turkey’s recent illegal incursion into Syria has as its principal goal the extermination of Syrian Kurds, as well as the potential annexation of Syrian land to serve as a Kurdish-free buffer zone for the indefinite future. In the process of this attack on the Kurds, it is likely that, whether intentional or not, large numbers of ISIS prisoners under the watch of largely Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces will break free from incarceration in the midst of the chaos created by Turkish aggression. Already close to 1,000 of a total numbering around 10,000 ISIS prisoners and family members, have fled camps abandoned by their Kurdish guards.
This has led some U.S. politicians, in the midst of hand-wringing over how “America has abandoned its allies, the Kurds,” to raise the additional specter that President Trump’s decision to remove U.S. troops from northern Syria will lead to the reconstitution of ISIS as a terrorist force in the region. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R) is one such voice. Interviewed on The Story with Martha McCallum, he declared:
“The president keeps saying we’ve won this war against ISIS. We certainly have not won the war against ISIS. We’ve made gains.”
In response to McCallum’s question “For how long are we going to stay there [in Syria]?”, Kinzinger opined:
“You asked the question about ‘How long.” It’s a good question. But the problem is that’s not a choice that we can make. It’s not the choice of the United States [that] determines how long we’re going to fight terrorism. It’s a decision the terrorists make because they determine if they’re going to kill innocent people, they’re gonna reach out again to the United States to strike here. I wish they didn’t believe this stuff. I wish we didn’t have to fight them….I wish this was all over, but it’s not our choice.”
The President is right that the Islamic State caliphate has been demolished, and in that sense ISIS has been defeated. But Rep. Kinzinger is correct that ISIS is still alive and could regain its former momentum. The problem is they both are dealing with symptoms rather than with the cause.
For the President, ISIS is a hornet that keeps buzzing around the patio table at lunch, bothering the guests. He rolls up a newspaper, swats it soundly and declares proudly, “It’s dead. You’re safe.” Kinzinger is not so sure. The seemingly lifeless hornet needs to be beaten repeatedly, and we need to be on the alert, for other hornets will not be far off . “We have to stay in this swatting contest until the hornets decide they don’t want our food. I wish they didn’t like our lunch, I wish this was all over, but it’s not our choice.”
The problem is, neither the President nor the Congressman (nor most other politicians and pundits, for that matter) is looking for the nest from which the hornets continue to be hatched and sent. Until the nest is found and destroyed, the incursions will continue. What Western leaders desperately need to understand is that ISIS, Boko Haram, Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood and its brood of viper organizations, al-Qaeda, AQAP, al-Shabaab, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, the IRGC, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Hizb-ut-Tahrir, Abu Sayyaf and scores of other Muslim jihadi groups are only symptoms, not the source. They are merely angry hornets, looking for whomever they can sting, but destroying them will not rid the world of Islamic terrorism. To do that, we must destroy the nest which endlessly produces them.
That nest is the ideology of core Islam, i.e., the Islam of Muhammad as taught in its source materials: the Qur’an, the Hadith and the Sira (early biographies) of Muhammad.
Found prominently in all three is the directive that Muslims are to channel all their energies and resources into conquering the world for Allah and his religion. They are to use force, as necessary, to bring all human beings into subjection to Allah. This is the primary Qur’anic meaning of the well-known term “jihad.” Westernized Muslims often object to the translation “holy war”, and I would agree with them. There is nothing holy about jihad — but it is nevertheless a religiously mandated war against all unbelievers. Let’s just call it “religious war.”
The jihadi mindset is an inherent part of Muhammad’s Islam. Any neutral observer, reading Islam’s source materials, would come inevitably to this conclusion. And it is this reality, and only this reality, that can explain why Islam’s 1400 year history across the globe leaves a copious trail of blood in its wake, as Robert Spencer’s comprehensive work, The History of Jihad from Muhammad to ISISirrefutably demonstrates. Why is deadly violence associated so readily with Islam as compared with any other world religion? Because only in Islam is violence against unbelievers the unremitting divine command until the end of time.
We should not be surprised, then, that as the Muslim world perceives itself to be growing in strength vis-a-vis its enemies (i.e., all who refuse to bow before it), it is increasingly willing to flex its muscles in strategic, as well as desultory, acts of violence. Since al-Qaeda’s 9/11 attacks just over eighteen years ago, self-professing Muslims have been responsible for at least 35,800 deadly terrorist incidents. These reflect Muhammad’s own dictum, “I have been made victorious with terror” (Bukhari, 4.52.220), which in turn acknowledges the six places in the Qur’an where Allah reveals that he casts terror into the hearts of Muhammad’s opponents (often through his followers) to defeat them (3.151; 8.12-13, 59-60; 33.25-27; 59.2, 13).
The real enemy, then, is the nest of jihadi ideology inherent within core Islam, and not simply the individual hornets birthed through this ideology. Each jihadi group gains its strength and purpose through this ideology. When the ideology is defeated, these groups lose their steam and aspirations.
The question which should be at the heart of our nation’s counter-terrorism activities is: What does it take to defeat an ideology? Naturally, one must know that ideology well to craft a successful strategy. Core Islam teaches that the flag of Allah and his prophet will inevitably fly over all the world and will be evidenced by the subjugation of all people according to the exercise of Shari’a through one Caliphate, under Allah’s appointed earthly ruler. Jihadis are taught to believe that since their cause is righteous, Allah will always grant them victory. They are servants in his cause, loving what he loves and hating what he hates (this is known in Islamic circles as the oath of al-wala’ w’al-bara’ (loving what pleases Allah and opposing all that displeases him). Since Islam’s Allah is all-powerful and all-knowing, nothing can thwart his will. Islam must win over every foe. What then does it take to defeat the jihadi ideology of core Islam?
  1. Extreme power. Shock and awe kind of power. While it is true that military might can never defeat an ideology in and of itself, when that ideology depends upon the fiction that it is invincible, the use of unmatched force against enemy combatants so as to eradicate their vaunted assets goes a long way to undermining their confidence in their ideology. Militant Muslims are quick to shout “Allahu akbar!”, when firing their weapons or slicing the heads off their bound captives. By this they mean, “Our god is greater than whatever your god, or whatever you believe in.” But when their armies are pulverized, and their conquests are taken from them, the roar of Allahu akbar becomes a soft meow. Likewise, when ISIS was moving unopposed from victory to victory in Iraq and Syria, its call for recruits elicited huge response from Muslims around the world. But as soon as it became clear that ISIS could not withstand the might of first-world military forces, and especially as it was routed from its self-proclaimed capital, Raqqa, the flow of recruits dried up. For a religion based on power and victory, weakness and defeat are hard to swallow.
  2. Demonstration of the deficiencies of Islam. Since jihadi ideology stems from the belief that Islam is Allah’s final and perfect revelation and thus is to be established as the only acceptable religion everywhere in the world (” And fight them until there is no fitnah [i.e., opposition] and [until] the religion, all of it, is for Allah — Qur’an 8.39), any arguments which demonstrate the defects of the religion of Islam (which Allah in the Qur’an declared perfect — “Today I have perfected for you your religion…” 5.3) begin to undermine the jihadi’s confidence in his ideology. Granted, this war of ideas may take a long time to bear fruit, but the truth will ultimately overwhelm even entrenched ignorance. Those working to defeat the ideology of core Islam must point out the defects of Islam in at least the following areas:a) Moral corruption — How can one worship a god who takes delight in punishing those who reject him with hellish horrors beyond the imagination of most human beings? How can one believe in a god who permits sex slavery, rape after battles, raiding and pillaging of non-combatants’ property, killing or ransoming captives, the inequality of women, polygamy, etc.? How can one follow a prophet who admits he mistook the whispers of Satan for the voice of his god, or who claims his god gave him special privileges to marry as many women as he found desirable, or who married and forced himself on his 9-year-old “bride”? How can one respect a prophet so thin-skinned that when mocked by unbelieving poets, he directed that they be assassinated by his devotees? And this is only the beginning of what can be dredged up from early Muslim sources.b) Logical inconsistencies — The Qur’an insists that its revelation goes hand in glove with the Old and New Testaments, since it claims that its god is the same as the God of the Bible. And yet its teachings are fundamentally at odds with earlier Scripture. Muhammad was told by Allah and in turn told his listeners if they had any questions over his recitations, he/they should go the “people of the Book” [i.e., the Jews and Christians] for clarification. Muhammad apparently believed the Bible and the Qur’an were in perfect harmony. Only after his death, when his community spread far beyond Arabia, did his followers discover the huge contrasts between Bible and Qur’an, and devise an explanation that Christians and Jews had corrupted their original teachings (though they could never produce any evidence for this absurd claim). Muslims believe the Qur’an to be perfectly transmitted from the mouth of the angel Gabriel through Muhammad to the pens of his scribes such that no mistakes could creep into the Qur’an, which has been perfectly preserved to this present time. But, according to Islamic history, the Qur’an was not even collected as a codex or manuscript until at least twenty years after the death of Muhammad. The existence of early manuscripts which differ in detail from the “authorized version” of Caliph Uthman demonstrate that there were rival versions of the Qur’an, thereby undercutting the claim of a perfectly preserved and transmitted revelation from Allah.
    c) Historical horrors — Since al-Qaeda’s 9/11 attacks on America in 2001, there have now been over 35,800 documented, deadly terrorist attacks around the world by self-described Muslims. But even these pale in comparison to the wholesale slaughter of non-Muslims (as well as those deemed “insufficiently or incorrectly Muslim”) by successive caliphates and Muslim empires over the last 1400 years. Estimates put the numbers slain across the globe at around 270 million. While this number must be taken with a grain of salt, there is no question that Muslim historical sources boast of butchery and carnage in the millions over the course of individual jihadi campaigns in Asia, Africa, Europe and India over the centuries. The recent atrocities of the ISIS caliphate are one mere cel in the long and repulsive movie reel of Islamic rule since the time of Muhammad.
    d) The many imperfections of the Qur’an — one of the two justifications for the legitimacy of Islam is the purported revelation of the Qur’an as the perfect and unchanged words of Allah, delivered through Muhammad to his followers without error and copied faithfully such that today’s Qur’an is exactly what it was when first gathered. Muslim historical sources, however, make clear that there never was an “original” Qur’an, and that there were many rival versions in the early caliphate until Caliph ‘Uthman standardized one version and ordered all others to be burned. Even after this, some Muslims complained that certain suras had been left out, or added, or otherwise edited. On top of this, the Qur’an, supposedly written in “pure” Arabic, contains many grammatical errors and anomalies, and hundreds of loan words from other languages. One wonders why Allah, from eternity, would have had to borrow words from other languages to reveal his will to Arabs living in the 7th Century. Perhaps Arabic was not his first language….Add to this this the numerous historical errors (e.g., naming one of Pharaoh’s advisers Haman, the Persian name of the vizier of Ahasuerus, some thousand years after the time of Moses, on another continent; the confusion of the person of Mary (Mariam in Arabic) the mother of Jesus with Mariam the sister of Aaron and Moses, thought they lived some 1500 years apart), and the embarrassing “scientific claims” (such as the sun setting in a muddy pool in the west, and the confused stages of fetal development in the womb), and one is left with serious questions about the claim to divine authorship of Islam’s preeminent source of revelation.
    e) Theological blunders — The Qur’an claims (9.30) that Jews believe Ezra to be the Son of God (in much the same way as Christians believe Jesus to be the Son of God), though there is no literary evidence to document this. Additionally, the Jesus of the Qur’an claims to bring “good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad” (61.6). Unfortunately for Islam, though Muslims have combed Old and New Testaments, there is no evidence to support such a “prophecy”. Further, the Qur’an has Allah saying that his revelation is given to Muhammad to confirm his prior revelation to the people of the Book (i.e., the Bible), but then the Qur’an later contradicts some of the central teachings of the New Testament (e.g., the sonship and divinity of Jesus, God’s trinitarian nature, the death of Christ on a cross, and the atonement). The Muslim answer to this is that Christians tampered with the biblical text to contradict the Qur’an, but there are a slew of New Testament manuscripts that predate the existence of the Qur’an, and all of them agree on these central teachings of the Christian faith. Islam puts itself in an untenable position: in order to gain theological legitimacy, it must attach itself in a parasitic way to the Bible; but then in order to distinguish itself as the true religion, it must deny the heart of the Bible in order to glorify Muhammad and his message.
    f) Sociological realities — Allah claims in the Qur’an that the Muslim community is the “best of all peoples” and that disbelievers are “the vilest of creatures.” One would expect then that over centuries of time the Muslim world would demonstrate its vaunted superiority over non-Muslims sociologically. The world’s population should be flocking to the Muslim world in order to benefit from life among the best of all peoples. Yet, what do we find? Millions upon millions of Muslims are desperate to emigrate from the 56 Muslim-majority nations of the world to make their homes instead in the West, preeminently in the USA. A brief glance at sociological statistics shows Muslim nations to be consistently at the back of the pack when it comes to education, economic standard of living, health care, working conditions, freedom of expression, religious freedom, sexual equality, humane treatment of prisoners, advancement of the arts and sciences, and so on. Measured by such a set of standards, Islam can be said to have done little or nothing to advance the cause of humanity, and indeed to have contributed instead to the deterioration of the human condition.
No doubt there are many other deficiencies which should be explored, but this is sufficient to make the point that the ideology of core Islam is riddled with problems that must be exposed.
  3. Presentation of Preferred Ideologies. In the final analysis, people are rarely willing to jettison a life-defining ideology until they have something better to replace it. When it comes to the ideology of Islam, the West offers two possibilities which surpass jihadism. The first is Enlightenment secularism, which champions humanism and supports the freedom and rights of all human beings, in the words of the Declaration of Independence, to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” A life of freedoms guaranteed by the Bill of Rights and other like documents makes for a society where human beings can decide for themselves what pursuits to prioritize. The secular West must do all it can to reclaim its lofty Enlightenment ideals, and to paint an attractive picture to disaffected Muslims of what a better life can look like when they exit Islam. The second is the Christian faith, which replaces a god of hate and violence with the God of love, which commands self-sacrifice on behalf of others rather than jihad against enemies, which reveals a divine savior who dies for human beings rather than a god commanding human beings to die for him. As millions of Muslims have discovered, their religious longings, never fulfilled under the harsh rules of Islam, are met in the good news of a God who draws them in love to Himself, and who promises eternal life to those who follow the way of Jesus. The Church must recapture her first love for Jesus Christ, and in joyful obedience to him must share the gospel lovingly with Muslims wherever we can meet and befriend them.
In the end, the problem of Islamic terrorism will not subside until one of two futures is realized: either Islam conquers all enemies and reigns globally, or the ideology of Muhammad’s Islam is debunked and derided for the evil it has spawned.
My personal belief is that secularism is not up to the task, because by its very nature it has no universally-accepted foundation upon which to appeal for the “unalienable rights” of humanity. It cannot speak of a divinely-mandated morality, nor of a human nature deserving dignity and honor because of having been created in the image of God. In the end, it must rest on a utilitarian plea that if we all just treat each kindly, human society will flourish. Or in the words of the song recorded by Sam Cooke in 1960:
But I do know that I love you,
And I know that if you love me too,
What a wonderful world this would be.
Nice sentiments, but hardly substantial enough upon which to build an enduring worldview of humane and equal treatment. Western secularism has endured to this point by living off the fumes of a Christian anthropology, understanding human beings to be a special creation of God, endowed with rights and protections precisely because of having been created in His image and likeness. As we have seen in the last century, as the West has retreated from this conviction and replaced it increasingly with the impersonal and naturalistic view of evolution, human beings become merely the result of random causation and as such have no special standing or purpose in the world. One day, secularism will collapse on itself, when it can no longer ride on the coattails of a religiously-inspired morality.

Pre-pubescent girls wearing “pussy” hats rap about President Trump being a “racist” and a “dick,” in a throwback video illustrating the disturbing depths of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
The cringe video produced two years ago by deranged anti-Trump leftist activist group FCKH8.com is being recycled on social media, and shows an all-female children’s group named “Pussy Scouts” spitting a rap containing weak rhymes, including:
“Ya call women ‘fat pigs,’ show no respect. Try to grab my pussy? Ya gonna get wrecked.”
“Cuttin’ Planned Parenthood healthcare? An agenda more fucked than your fucked-up hair,” a girl no older than 8-years-old curses while holding the middle finger up on both hands.
In another offbeat lyric, a young girl raps about her “bitch” Elizabeth Warren taking Trump out:
“And take away a woman’s abortion right? My bitch Liz Warren will take you down in a fight.”
The group FCKH8.com describes itself as a “T-shirt company on a mission to inspire social change,” but so far it only seems to be promoting foul-mouthed children singing about assaulting the President of the United States.
The group also ran a campaign titled “Dicks against a sexist dick,” featuring naked gay men making penis puns in reference to President Trump.
FCKH8.com’s parent company, Good Ideas for Good Causes, has received an “F” rating by the Better Business Bureau after numerous consumer complaints went unresolved.
The company also has ties to the DeportRacism.com PAC, through LGBT activist Luke Montgomery, which had Latino children read profanity-laden scripts labeling then-GOP frontrunner Donald Trump a “racist.”

FBI DECLASSIFIES DOCUMENTS ON SECRET PEDOPHILE GROUP ‘THE FINDERS’

FBI DECLASSIFIES DOCUMENTS ON SECRET PEDOPHILE GROUP ‘THE FINDERS’

Alleges Satanic group had ties to intelligence community

BY JAMIE WHITE
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
The FBI has declassified and released a trove of documents about “The Finders,” an alleged secret child abduction network tied to the U.S. intelligence community.
The FBI began investigating the group after former congressman Charlie Rose relayed multiple tips alleging child abuse committed by the group, according to a 324-page declassified 1993 document.
That information led investigators to Tallahassee, Florida, and then Washington D.C., where the group was reportedly based.
During a search of a home and warehouse owned by “The Finders” in 1987, a United States Customs Service (UCSC) officer claims “to have observed a substantial amount of computer equipment and documents purportedly containing instructions for obtaining children for unspecified purposes,” the FBI stated.
“The instructions allegedly included the impregnation of female members of the community, purchasing children, trading children, and kidnaping (sic) them.”
After several paragraphs of redacted information, the FBI disclosed that someone “has alleged that the Finders are involved in a well-organized child abuse scheme, and that [redacted] in conjunction with the State Department, and the FBI’s foreign counterintelligence section, conspired to cover up those abuses.”
“The source reported children were used in rituals by the groups, but reported source never observed any actual child abuse,” the declassified files stated.
Subsequent searches using testimony obtained by children and witnesses led investigators to a Virginia farm where they found “evidence of satanic/cult rituals” and cages that “witnesses revealed were used to keep children during their visits to the farm.”
Search warrants were also executed at a warehouse involving “classified maps of underground tunnel/sewer system” in Washington D.C.
The children “also talked about other children in Washington D.C., and stated that they were under the control of the ‘game caller,’ [redacted],” the file stated.
But curiously, an FBI Washington field office memo stated that “all evidence obtained” at the two “Finders” properties produced “no evidence of child sexual exploitation, kidnapping, or any related crimes.”
A former member of “The Finders” told detectives in an interview that he had “done work involving security protection for the FBI, NSA, and other government agencies,” and the documents further reveal the CIA was secretly involved in the investigation.
Interestingly, someone contacted the Washington Police demanding that information about The Finders be classified to the “Secret” level and recommended that the FBI Washington Field office no longer receive updates of the investigation.
Watch this video from the early 90s of late FBI investigator Ted Gunderson explaining evidence of a similar Satanic child exploitation network operating in Los Angeles, California.

ANOTHER BIDEN LIE-ABOUT HIS EDUCATION~PRIEST REFUSED TO GIVE BIDEN COMMUNION BECAUSE HE’S PRO-ABORTION~BANNON: “BIDEN TOTALLY COMPROMISED BY CHINA”

ANOTHER BIDEN LIE-ABOUT HIS EDUCATION
BY BOB ADELMANN
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
The man cannot tell where truth ends and lying begins. Speaking at a rally in South Carolina on Saturday, Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden did it again: He conflated some of his real history with enough fantasy to make his candidacy more appealing to his audience. He told his audience of supporters, “I got started out of an HBCU (historically black college/university), Delaware State.”
He didn’t attend Delaware State but the University of Delaware, instead.
His recollection of his education was muddled. While he did graduate from the University of Delaware, it’s clear that he was more interested in playing football and entertaining the ladies than studying, graduating 506th in a class of 688 with just a “C” average. Biden claimed that he received three degrees but later recanted when confronted with the facts: “I said three and I should have said two.” But even that was incorrect: He earned a single Bachelor of Arts degree in history and political science.
Somehow, however, that was enough for Biden to earn a full ride scholarship to Syracuse University, graduating “in the top half of my class in law school,” according to the presidential candidate. When James Dickenson looked into the matter more closely, he wrote in the Washington Post that Biden attended law school on a half-scholarship based not on academic prowess but on financial need, graduating near the bottom of his class, at 76 out of 85 students.
Biden had trouble remembering when he got involved in the civil rights movement and misremembered his role in it. In August he spoke at Limestone College in South Carolina, telling the students, “I never thought coming out of the civil rights movement that I’d see people walking out in the fields, carrying torches.” But Haris Alic, writing for Breitbart, said that “no record exists [that] he was part of the civil rights movement throughout the 1960s. In fact, after his graduating [from] law school in 1968, there is no mention of Biden being active in the civil rights movement, let alone serving as one of its leaders.”
In August, during a campaign stop in New Hampshire, Biden repeated a war story canard that he had milked for years:
This guy climbed down a ravine, carried this guy up on his back under fire. The general wanted me to pin the Silver Star on him. I got up there, and this is the God's truth, my word as a Biden. He stood at attention. I went to pin it on him. He said, “Sir, I don't want the damn thing. Do not pin it on me, sir. Please, sir, do not do that. He died! He died!”
But, according to the Washington Post, “Almost every detail in the story appears to be incorrect.… The former vice president has jumbled elements of at least three actual events into one story of bravery, compassion and regret that never happened.”
Worse, when confronted with the lie, Biden doubled down: “The central point [of the story] is it was absolutely accurate what I said.”
Alana Goodman has made a living keeping track of Biden’s lies. Writing for the Washington Examiner, Goodman noted that Biden “claimed twice recently that he met with Parkland, Florida, shooting survivors when he was vice president, despite the fact that he was already out of office when the attack took place.” In 1988, he was forced to abandon his first go at running for president “after he was found to have exaggerated his academic record, plagiarized a law school essay, and used quotes from other politicians in his speeches without attribution.”
Goodman then noted a number of other crimes of exaggeration, omission, or fakery indulged in by the former vice president:
• Biden said his helicopter was “forced down” near Osama Bin Laden’s lair in Afghanistan.
Bragged Biden: “If you want to know where al Qaeda lives, you want to know where bin Laden is, come back to Afghanistan with me. Come back to the area where my helicopter was forced down with a three-star general and three senators at 10,500 feet in the middle of those mountains. I can tell you where they are.”
In fact, the helicopter landed to wait out a snowstorm, according to the Associated Press.
• Biden said he was a coal miner.
Claimed Biden in 2008: “I hope you won’t hold it against me, but I am a hard-coal miner, anthracite coal, Scranton, Pennsylvania. It’s nice to be back in coal country.”
He later admitted to the canard, claiming that “I might be president now if it weren’t for the fact that I said I had an uncle who was a coal miner. Turns out I didn’t have anybody [himself or an uncle] in the coal mines.… [The lie] didn’t work.”
• Biden said he was “shot at” in Iraq
In 2007, Biden said: “Let’s start telling the truth. Number one, you take all the troops out, you better have helicopters ready to take those 3,000 civilians inside the Green Zone where I have been seven times and shot at.”
In fact, Biden was staying at a hotel in the Green Zone when a mortar landed several hundred yards away.
• Biden said he criticized President George W. Bush during lengthy private meetings in the Oval Office
Biden claimed in 2009 that he spent “a lot of hours alone” with Bush and rebuked him face to face over his foreign policy decisions: “I remember President Bush saying to me one time in the Oval Office: ‘Well, Joe, I’m a leader.’ And I said: ‘Mr. President, turn around and look behind you. No one is following.”
Candida Wolff, Bush’s White House liason to Congress, told Fox News: “The president would never sit through two hours of Joe Biden. I don’t ever remember Biden being in the Oval Office. He was such a blowhard on all that stuff — there wasn’t a reason to bring him in.”
Kevin Williamson, writing for the National Review, said that “if Biden is lying with malice aforethought, then he ought to be considered morally disqualified for the office. If he is senescent, then he obviously is unable to perform the duties associated with the presidency.… The evidence points more toward moral disability than mental disability.”
If William Shakespeare is right — “to thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not be false to any man” — what is one to do with a man who can’t tell the difference?

DR. STEVE TURLEY REPORTS:
Biden Denied Communion for His Pro-abortion Stance
BY BOB ADELMANN
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
While on a political junket in South Carolina over the weekend, Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden stopped by the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Florence on Sunday morning for Mass. The Reverend Robert E. Morey refused to serve communion to the former vice president, explaining:
Sadly, this past Sunday, I had to refuse Holy Communion to former Vice President Joe Biden. Holy Communion signifies we are one with God, each other and the church. Our actions should reflect that. Any public figure who advocates for abortion places himself … outside of Church teaching.
But Biden claims he agrees with the church’s teaching. He just doesn’t want to impose his views on anyone else. Said Biden in an interview in 2015: “I’m prepared to accept that at the moment of conception there’s human life and being, but I’m not prepared to say that to other God-fearing [and] non-God-fearing people [who] have a different view.”
He also believes that not only is Roe v. Wade the law of the land despite the faux “right to privacy” conjured in that Supreme Court decision, he also wants to codify it into federal law just in case the Court decides it made a mistake, and reverses its 1973 decision.
In fact, in 1981 Biden voted for an amendment allowing states to overturn Roe v. Wade but the next year voted against the same amendment. He also has pledged, if elected president, to appoint justices to the Supreme Court who support that flawed decision.
In addition, Biden has supported the Hyde Amendment — which prohibits using taxpayer monies to pay for abortions — right up until he changed his mind last June. He had the temerity to suggest, in public, that the Hyde Amendment was a good thing, and the roof fell in. Spokespersons for Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice America railed against his position, with the president of NARAL, Ilyse Hogue, claiming that his support for the Hyde Amendment was “discrimination against poor women and women of color.” Planned Parenthood stated that Biden’s support for the rule was “harmful” to women, and he caved, declaring that “times had changed.”
Biden now is promising to “eliminate all of the changes that this President [Trump] made” to family planning programs, and that he would, as president, increase funding for Planned Parenthood, the nation’s primary killer of the unborn.
On the issue, the Catholic Church is unbending. As SC News columnist Matthew Christian explained:
Communion is one of seven sacraments in the Roman Catholic Church….
In communion, parishioners receive the Holy Eucharist, a wafer and wine that when consecrated becomes the body and blood of Jesus, according to Catholic doctrine. In order to receive it, a Catholic must be in the state of grace, have gone to confession since his or her most recent mortal sin, have a belief in the doctrine of transubstantiation (a belief that the wafer and wine become the body and blood of Jesus), observe the Eucharist fast and not be under censure.
The Vatican declares that “Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person — among which are the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.”
The Vatican added:
Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion.
This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable.
Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law:
You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish.
God, the Lord of life, has entrusted to men the noble mission of safeguarding life, and men must carry it out in a manner worthy of themselves.
Life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception: abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes
The Vatican goes further, stating that anyone who “cooperates” in the performance of an abortion can be excommunicated: “Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense. The Church attaches the canonical penalty of excommunication to this crime against human life.”
Biden’s position on abortion clearly promotes the death culture of abortion and Father Morey was certainly within his prerogative to deny Biden the sacrament of communion. The church is also within its prerogative to excommunicate the former vice president for “cooperating” in the crime of taking a life while calling it excusable under the cloak of political correctness.

BANNON: ‘JOE BIDEN IS TOTALLY COMPROMISED

BY CHINA’

‘I think people understand it. I think the Ukraine situation’s the same thing,’ he says

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon believes that former Vice President Joe Biden has been “totally compromised by China.”
When asked by Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade what he thought about Joe Biden and his son Hunter taking money from Ukraine energy company Burisma Holdings, Bannon said “I think it’s corruption.”
“I think worse is China. They took over a billion dollars from China,” Bannon said Monday. “I think Joe Biden is totally compromised by China. I think people understand it. I think the Ukraine situation’s the same thing.”
“[Hunter Biden] got in the Navy with no expertise because of Joe Biden,” Bannon continued. “He got on the board because of connections to Joe Biden. His whole career is around having access to Joe Biden – political corruption.”
In response to the growing backlash over his connections to China and his father’s faltering poll numbers, Hunter Biden released a statement announcing he would be step down from Bohai Harvest RST (BHR) Equity Investment Fund Management Company, a Shanghai-based private-equity fund backed by entities owned by the Chinese government.
“Hunter always understood that his father would be guided, entirely and unequivocally, by established U.S. policy, regardless of its effects on Hunter’s professional interests,” according to the statement. “He never anticipated the barrage of false charges against both him and his father by the President of the United States.”
In 2013, Hunter Biden joined an official U.S. delegation to China, according to multiple reports. Ten days later, his private equity firm Rosemont Seneca Partners LLC. inked a $1 billion deal with the bank of China, that was eventually increased to $1.5 billion.

TACOMA TO TAX GUN STORES, PAWN SHOPS OUT OF EXISTENCE

TACOMA TO TAX GUN STORES, PAWN SHOPS
OUT OF EXISTENCE
BY BOB ADELMANN
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational and research purposes:
The bill proposed by Tacoma city council member Ryan Mello heads for a final reading tomorrow. If passed, it will start levying a $25 tax on every firearm sold in the city starting January 1, along with two cents per round on ammunition of .22-caliber or less, and five cents per round on all other calibers.
Mello admits that his bill probably won’t do anything about gun violence, but it would raise an estimated $30,000 to study the problem: “I do not pretend to believe that this tax and these revenues are going to solve our gun violence problems in Tacoma [but] I certainly believe that they will help invest in some of the programs that do make a difference.”
The pushback from the owners of gun stores and pawn shops was predictable. Aero Precision, a maker of after-market firearm accessories that employs more than 400 people in Tacoma, warned the city council that it would “explore options” if the bill passed: “We stand strong in opposition [along with] the National Shooting Sports Foundation [NSSF] and our local dealers and customers who will be affected by this tax, and we will be forced to explore our options if the Tacoma City Council does vote this into place.”
The impact would be felt most severely by the estimated eight to 10 gun stores and nine or 10 pawn shops currently operating in the city. Bruce Smith, the manager of Surplus Ammo and Arms of Tacoma, told the council last Tuesday night: “We have 11 employees [who] will be unemployed at the time this proposal of taxing firearms and ammunition would be imposed. It wouldn’t make any sense for a consumer … to buy a case of ammo at [our] store or a rifle at [our] store when [he] can simply go a few miles in either direction [to buy them outside city limits.]”
Added Smith: “All [the law would do] is put gun shops out of business.”
Those stores and shops generated about $218,000 in revenues to the city in 2018, and the new law is estimated to generate an additional $30,000. But the council could be in for a serious awakening when those new revenues fail to appear and the overall revenues drop as those shops and businesses close or move away. There are certain economic laws that members of city councils cannot repeal, one of them being when the cost or price of something is increased, less is demanded. Raise that cost or price sufficiently high and none will be demanded.
When Seattle’s city council enacted a similar law it expected revenues of between $300,000 and $500,000, but last year received only $77,642, thanks to stores that closed and/or moved away.
Raising taxes would have additional unintended consequences, including the boosting of private sales between individuals and the making of 3D guns at home.
They would have precious little impact on criminals, crime, or gun violence, but would fall heavily upon law-abiding citizens instead. For instance, the tax on ammunition would impact high-volume users such as target shooters rather than those who might purchase a firearm for home or personal protection, along with buying a small number of rounds. Criminals would, as they always have, find ways to obtain weaponry and ammunition that ignores the new laws.
Missing from the conversation is any mention of the real purpose behind such taxes: the elimination of private ownership of firearms altogether. The process is variously called “coercive gradualism” or “revolutionary parliamentarianism,” whereby the drip drip drip of infringements of precious rights takes place incrementally at the local level over long periods of time.
Lawrence Keane, senior vice president for NSSF, said he worries that other small towns and cities will adopt similar measures: “Are we concerned that politicians will try to seek their antigun agenda through taxation? Yes. This is what this is about.” In 2017, the Washington state Supreme Court ruled in favor of Seattle’s new taxes and against the NSSF, declaring that the tax’s primary purpose was not to regulate firearms ownership but “to raise revenue for the public benefit.”
In its study “Understanding Coercive Gradualism,” the U.S. War College admitted its effectiveness as a strategy to achieve illegal ends:
Coercive gradualism offers both opportunities and consequences to states seeking to expand their influence, if not control, over others’ sovereign territory. Once an aggressor makes the first move, rolling it back may prove very difficult. There are no simple solutions.
Instead, said the report, the key is preventing the process from starting from the very beginning: “Key to countering a strategy of coercive gradualism is preventing the initial aggressive move using all instruments of power.” Applied to the local level, the key is preventing the process from starting through education of the local citizenry.
This is the very strategy recommended by Thomas Jefferson against the gradual incursion of the state into private affairs: “Educate and inform the whole mass of the people.… They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty.”

CHINESE GOVERNMENT DEMOLISHES LARGE CHURCH
(Friday Church News Notes, October 25, 2019, www.wayoflife.orgfbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The following is excerpted from “China: Authorities forcibly demolish ‘illegal’ church,” Christian Post, Oct. 15, 2019: “Communist officials demolished a church in China's Henan province for engaging in ‘illegal fundraising’ after forcibly removing congregants, injuring two elderly people in the process.  According to Chinese persecution watchdog Bitter Winter, True Jesus Church was razed to the ground completely. A new lawn with saplings was planted in place of the church, bearing no trace of its existence. ... After thoroughly searching the church, the police took away a piano and four air-conditioning units. Then, eight excavators began demolishing the church, worth about 10 million RMB (about $1,400,000). Authorities continued to persecute church members even after the church was demolished. ... In September, it was reported that Chinese government officials demanded that clergy affiliated with the state-sanctioned Protestant church base their sermons on a new book that blends biblical teachings with the teachings of Confucius, one of the most influential philosophers in Chinese history. ... In early 2018, the communist regime passed new regulations on religious affairs in China that banned ‘unauthorized’ religious teachings. ... Recently, it was alleged by the China Tribunal at a meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council that the Chinese government has murdered ‘hundreds of thousands’ of members of the Uighur Muslim minority and Falun Gong to harvest their organs. ... Open Doors USA ranks China as the 27th worst country in the world when it comes to Christian persecution on its 2019 World Watch List.”
CHRISTIANITY IN AMERICA IN RAPID DECLINE
(Friday Church News Notes, October 25, 2019, www.wayoflife.org,fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The following is excerpted from “In U.S., Decline of Christianity Continues at Rapid Pace,” Pew Research Center, Oct. 17, 2019: “The religious landscape of the United States continues to change at a rapid clip. In Pew Research Center telephone surveys conducted in 2018 and 2019, 65% of American adults describe themselves as Christians when asked about their religion, down 12 percentage points over the past decade. Meanwhile, the religiously unaffiliated share of the population, consisting of people who describe their religious identity as atheist, agnostic or ‘nothing in particular,’ now stands at 26%, up from 17% in 2009. ... The data shows that the trend toward religious disaffiliation documented in the Center’s 2007 and 2014 Religious Landscape Studies, and before that in major national studies like the General Social Survey (GSS), has continued apace. ... The changes underway in the American religious landscape are broad-based. The Christian share of the population is down and religious “nones” have grown across multiple demographic groups: white people, black people and Hispanics; men and women; in all regions of the country; and among college graduates and those with lower levels of educational attainment. Religious ‘nones’ are growing faster among Democrats than Republicans, though their ranks are swelling in both partisan coalitions. And although the religiously unaffiliated are on the rise among younger people and most groups of older adults, their growth is most pronounced among young adults.”CONCLUDING COMMENT BY BRO. CLOUD: The root problem is not in society at large; the root problem is with lukewarm, worldly, spiritually dead, and apostate churches.
ILLINOIS SCHOOLS BRAINWASHING PRESCHOOLERS WITH LGBT AGENDA
(Friday Church News Notes, October 25, 2019, www.wayoflife.orgfbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The following is excerpted from “Illinois Schools Promoting Transgenders to Preschoolers,” The Stream, Oct. 14, 2019: “All Illinois public schools must now teach LGBT history. They can only buy history textbooks that include it. And not just LGBT history. A very specific idea of that history. The ‘Inclusive Curriculum Law’ was signed in August. It goes into effect on July 1, 2020, to let teachers prepare the lessons for the 2020-21 school year. The law also covers women and minority group history. California, Colorado, New Jersey and Oregon have already passed similar laws. Why? The head of LGBT lobby group Equality Illinois explains. ‘As a former first grade teacher, I know how an inclusive education system can create change within a community.’ ... The law only enforces what many schools systems do already. Evanston/Skokie schools, for example. The school system posts its LGBT week curriculum online. Preschoolers and kindergarteners will ‘explore concepts of families, gendered toy and clothing stereotypes, colors and meaning, flags, allyship and identity.’ 1st graders will learn to use the pronoun ‘they’ for an individual. 4th and 5th graders will watch a PBS documentary about a girl who dreams of leading the boy-only Hula troop. ... The curriculum teaches these children to approve of families headed by same-sex parents. One way it does that is to compare them with mixed-race and adoptive families. A second way is simply to normalize them. In one video, a boy says he has two dads and two moms. Materials include pictures of same-sex couples with children, which prompt students to label them as families. ... The curriculum portrays transgenders as making a perfectly normal decision. But studies have shown that 20% of transgenders revert back to their birth sex. This frequently happens after a young person has taken hormones and had sex change surgery. They then deeply regret having made the physical changes. The curriculum does not warn children about this. They are not told that many transgenders realize they were wrong and revert back. Nor are children told that 41% of transgenders attempt suicide. Nor that mental illness affects 60-90% of transgendered people. And what of other points of view? Many parents disagree strongly with the ideas behind transgenderism. Christians, Jews, and Muslims hold different beliefs about what male and female are. The curriculum offers no alternatives to the LGBT idea. It doesn’t explain how some religions object to those lifestyles. It’s one-sided ‘education.’ It doesn’t teach children to think about the issue. No dissent is acceptable. Children are only allowed to express approval of the LGBT lifestyle, and they are pushed hard to do so.”
BAPTIST CHURCHES NOT PREACHING
ON THE SECOND COMING
(Friday Church News Notes, October 25, 2019,www.wayoflife.orgfbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The return of Jesus Christ is a major New Testament doctrine, and the preaching and teaching of it is essential for holy living. It was emphasized by Christ (Mt. 24:29-31; Mr. 13:24-27). It was a theme of apostolic preaching in the book of Acts (Ac. 1:11; 3:19-20). It is mentioned in nearly every Epistle (Ro. 11:26; 1 Co. 1:7-8; Php. 1:6, 10; 2:16; 1 Th. 1:10; 2:19; 3:13; 4:15-17; 5:23; 2 Th. 1:7-9; 2:1, 8; 3:5; 1 Ti. 6:14; 2 Ti. 4:1, 8; Tit. 2:13; Jas. 5:7-9; Heb. 9:28; 10:37; 1 Pe. 1:7; 5:4; 2 Pe. 3:10-13; 1 Jo. 2:28; 3:2; Jude 14-15; Re. 1:7; 19:11-21; 22:7, 12, 20). The imminent return of Christ must, therefore, be a fundamental part of every believer’s worldview, a major theme of all biblical preaching, a constantly-emphasized doctrine of every church. But there are signs that preaching on Bible prophecy is being neglected even among “fundamentalist” churches. The following is from a reader: “About three years ago I was speaking with another fundamental Baptist pastor here in the area. I mentioned that I truly believed the Lord was coming soon. He said, ‘You know, everybody was preaching on this back in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and thought surely Christ would come before 2000. I really don’t preach that much any more.’ I about fell on the floor and responded to him, ‘If Christ did not come by then, how much closer now?’ I said, ‘I preach His coming regularly trying to wake people up to holiness and living for Christ so that they won’t be ashamed at His coming.’ Speaking to a missionary friend who spoke at our church recently, I mentioned this story. His words were, ‘I have heard more from you today about the second coming then I have for months in other fundamental Baptist churches. This is from a man from a large missions ministry who preaches regularly across the country. Our people live in denial of this truth and unfortunately our preachers are also.” Another reader sent the following comment: “Fundamental Baptist preachers seem very reluctant to delve into prophecy. ... I don’t think I have ever heard a really solid message from an IFB preacher from the mountain of Old Testament prophecies with momentous future fulfillment.” Another reader commented, “I was talking to my wife recently about how that prophecy preaching has all but gone away.” This is a serious matter. Preachers who neglect the return of Christ are rebels against God’s Word and are not qualified for the ministry. The mindset of always looking for Christ’s return was modeled by the church at Thessalonica, which “turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; and to wait for his Son from heaven...” (1 Th. 1:9-10).
