How Trump Outsmarted Iran While Critics Rooted Against America | Victor Davis Hanson

The legacy media, the so-called anti-MAGA Right, and the Democrat grandees in Congress have two things in common: They never wanted the U.S.-Iran war to go in America’s favor. Many of the critiques of Operation Epic Fury were not historically empirical, meaning they didn’t compare the ongoing conflict with Iran to past U.S. wars, such as the bombing campaign in Serbia or even the war in Afghanistan. But the evidence—in five weeks alone, the United States, with the Israeli Air Force, wiped out most of the top echelon of the four ruling cliques in the Iranian nation—was there, argues Victor Davis Hanson on today’s edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In a Few Words”: We’ve never taken on a country of 93 million people that had the most fearsome, terrible reputation of being dangerous and unpredictable, and running the Middle East with a ring-of-fire proxies in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Gaza, Lebanon—indomitable. They had terrified seven presidents. And yet, in five weeks, we destroyed its ability to make war.

While Soldiers Were Dying, The President Spent The Day Doing This

Under President Trump, American service members are being killed, children were killed at schools in Iran by U.S. bombs, oil prices are skyrocketing past $100 a barrel, and the administration just drained 41% of our Strategic Petroleum Reserve — a move Trump attacked Biden for during four years. And on this same day, the President flew to Kentucky to spend an hour calling Thomas Massie, one of the only Republicans who votes against unlimited spending and unauthorized wars, a "nutjob," a "disaster," and "disloyal to America." Meanwhile, the Pentagon told Congress this war cost $11.3 billion in its first six days — more than every DOGE cut combined. Massie co-authored the Epstein Files Transparency Act. He voted against the trillion-dollar COVID spending. He voted for the War Powers Resolution. And he may be the only man in Washington who has said no to every blank check, every bailout, and every war without a congressional vote. This video examines why the president's real target might not be the man he says it is.

Trump Keeps Saying He's Not Going to Heaven — Listen Closer

Donald Trump has said repeatedly on camera that he does not believe he is going to heaven. On Air Force One he said he is probably not heaven-bound. At a press conference he said he hopes to make it but doubts he will. He sent an email to supporters saying he wants to try. In January he told Reuters the US should not even have an election in 2026. He told the New York Times the elections are rigged. He asked Republicans at the Kennedy Center if they should cancel the election. He told NBC in March 2025 he is not joking about a third term. Steve Bannon said publicly there is a plan for Trump to serve a third term. Now we are in a military operation against Iran with no end date, no congressional authorization, and a cost of one billion dollars per day. Six American service members have been killed. And this morning Trump told Axios he needs to personally select Iran's next leader. I asked the question on the Megyn Kelly show that everyone is thinking. What is his mental state? What does it mean for his decision-making when a president toward the end of his life says he will not go to heaven, does not care about the polls, and is launching the biggest military operation in a generation? These are his own words. On the record. To major news outlets. The picture they form should concern every American. Share before this gets buried.

Vice President JD Vance reported that he was confronted by pro-Ukrainian protesters while he was on a walk with his 3-year-old daughter.

On Saturday, Vance posted on X that while he was out on a walk with his toddler, the protesters approached him.

“Today while walking my 3 year old daughter a group of ‘Slava Ukraini’ protesters followed us around and shouted as my daughter grew increasingly anxious and scared,” Vance posted. “Slava Ukraini” means “Glory to Ukraine.”

“I decided to speak with the protesters in the hopes that I could trade a few minutes of conversation for them leaving my toddler alone,” he continued. “Nearly all of them agreed.”

He said it was a “mostly respectful conversation, but if you’re chasing a 3-year-old as part of a political protest, you’re a s— person.”

Vance did not specify what he talked to the protesters about. However, the encounter comes after President Donald Trump paused all military aid to Ukraine after the back-and-forth arguments in the Oval Office on February 28th with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Throughout the meeting, Trump and Vance accused Zelenskyy of not being grateful for the support the U.S. has already provided, while adding that the Ukrainian leader was in a “bad position” at the negotiating table.

“You’re playing cards,” Trump said. “You’re gambling with the lives of millions of people. You’re gambling with World War III. You’re gambling with World War III. What you’re doing is very disrespectful to the country, this country.”

Trump directed Zelensky to leave the White House without a deal being signed, adding that he can return “when he’s ready for peace.”

Last week, Zelensky called the meeting “regrettable,” adding that he’s now ready to work toward peace.
