Wheaton College Removes Monument to Martyrs Over Political Correctness… 1,050 views•Mar 26, 2021

MISSIONARY SPENCER SMITH:

Wheaton College removes a plaque to commemorate Jim Elliot and Ed McCully because of the word "Savage" being shown on the plaque. Political correctness is an enemy to Christianity.

The reason? The school wants to get rid of "pejorative" language on the memorial that refers to the attacking tribe members as "savage."

"Specifically, the word 'savage' is regarded as pejorative and has been used historically to dehumanize and mistreat indigenous peoples around the world," Ryken wrote, according to the Post, which obtained a copy of the letter.

Wheaton College Removes Plaque Honoring Martyred Missionaries Because it Offends the Killers

Wheaton College, which has ties to the Southern Baptist Convention and other mainstream Evangelical denominations, is home to many new woke faces of the Evangelical social justice movement, including Ed McGoatBeard Stetzer and Esau McCauley, who says that English Bible translations are untrustworthy because not enough black people were on the translation teams.

To say that either of these men has been given over to a false gospel would be an understatement–they are the false gospel and the heresy they propagate continues to invade Evangelical churches and institutions around the nation at an alarming rate.

Now, Wheaton College removing a plaque that’s been standing for 72 years which commemorates the deaths of a group of martyrs, including James Elliot and Ed McCully, two missionaries who were part of a group working to spread the Gospel to indigenous peoples in Ecuador, according to The Spectator.

“Recently, students, faculty, and staff have expressed concern about language on the plaque that is now recognized as offensive,” president Philip Ryken said in an email sent out to staff and students last week. “Specifically, the word “savage” is regarded as pejorative and has been used historically to dehumanize and mistreat indigenous peoples around the world.”

The move is indicative of just how far-reaching the tentacles of the insane left are, that such foolishness could have such an effect on the minds of young students seeking a career in ministry. Instead of destroying arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God–as we are taught to do in 2 Corinthians 10:5–Wheaton is complicit in the illicit takeover of minds as students are being taken captive by vain philosophy and empty deceit (Colossians 2:8).

If Wheaton were honest, biblically speaking, these murderers would be described as far worse than “savage”–they would be described as lost, idolaters, devoid of conscience and haters of God and God’s people, enemies of the Church and enemies of God who have perverted the grace of God beyond all comparison. Instead, Wheaton coddles them and treats them like victims like any good, woke institution should do.

Michael O’Fallon of Sovereign Nations: The Progressive Shift of the Evangelical Church

A progressive culture has developed within the Evangelical Church where only certain conclusions are allowed, and social grievances are placed above objective truth. SOUTHERN BAPTIST PRESIDENT JD Greear Says He’d Rather Unite With Those Who Pervert the Gospel Than Those Who Defend It

SEE: https://reformationcharlotte.org/2021/02/23/jd-greear-says-hed-rather-unite-with-those-who-pervert-the-gospel-than-those-who-defend-it/;

In case you missed it, JD Greear, president of the Southern Baptist Convention addressed the Southern Baptist Executive Committee last night with a sermon decrying “white supremacy” and all those who oppose Critical Race Theory. If you can stomach it, the sermon can be watched here and begins around the 51-minute mark.

During the sermon, Greear decried his critics who accused him of being liberal and then gave a rundown of his conservative credentials; he said that he believes homosexuality is a sin and that homosexuals left a packet on his doorstep of pamphlets of people who have committed suicide because of his anti-homosexuality position. Yet, in 2019, Greear preached a sermon on Romans 1 and concluded that God believes other sins — such as boasting — are more egregious than homosexuality.

Greear then went into a tirade against people who believe that Critical Race Theory, a secular Marxist ideology that is opposed to the gospel, and labeled them as “pharisees” and called them “demonic.”

“We should mourn when closet racists and neo-Confederates feel more at home in our churches than do many of our people of color,” he said. “The reality is that if we in the SBC had shown as much sorrow for the painful legacy that racism and discrimination has left in our country as we have the passion to decry CRT, we probably wouldn’t be in this mess.”

Of course, those “neo-Confederates” he is referring to would be the most vocal anti-Marxist critics in the denomination. Those would include men like Tom Ascol and Tom Buck, even Voddie Baucham. And, of course, it would include the countless journalists out there covering the stories including Reformation Charlotte, Capstone Report, Worldview Conversations, and Protestia, among many others.

If Greear were after unity, he’d denounce the heresy that is swarming the denomination and call for unity around the truth. Instead, Greear labels those who defend biblical doctrine as “pharisees” and calls on the denomination to repudiate them.

“Brothers and sisters, in the 1980s, we repudiated the leaven of the liberals, a leaven that threatened to poison the gospel,” he said. “Are we now going to repudiate the leaven of the Pharisees, which can choke out the gospel just as easily?”

Greear also demonstrated a complete lack of understanding of Jesus’ issue with the pharisees when said that the pharisees in the New Testament had correct doctrine, but that their problem was that they opposed Jesus. The Scriptures, however, do not teach that the pharisees had correct doctrine — Jesus’ problem with them is that they were false teachers, just like those who push Critical Race Theory.

ERLC “Pro-Life” Speaker Says Women Who Choose Abortion Deserve “Quality Care”

The Southern Baptist Convention’s notorious rogue entity, the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) should have been defunded and abolished years ago. Yet, the entity, led by Russell Moore, continues to advance a progressive agenda from every front.

Reformation Charlotte, along with other conservative Christian outlets, has been calling on Southern Baptists to remove the liberal Democrat from office and for churches to stop funding his leftist causes for years. Russell Moore is one of the heads of the Evangelical Immigration Table (EIT), a front group for the George Soros-funded National Immigration Forum (NIF) which calls for open borders and amnesty for illegal aliens. The fact that the Southern Baptist Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission head, Russell Moore, has never had to explain his association with George Soros is telling of the direction the denomination has gone.

The ERLC is now primarily an outlet to propagandize semi-conservative pew-sitters with left-wing politics. And they are now redefining the pro-life movement to do so.

The progressives at the ERLC and the Southern Baptist Convention have already redefined “pro-life” to include a watered-down stance on abortion and a pro-social justice view on various left-wing pet causes such as slave reparationsthe death penaltyanimal rights, and illegal immigration.

Now, Russell Moore has invited a so-called “pro-life” advocate, Denise Harle, who also serves on the legal counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom, to speak at the hijacked Evangelicals for Life March — which coincides with the annual March for Life on January 28 — who says that women who choose abortion deserve quality and competent care.

In an article penned at The Advocate arguing for laws requiring abortionists to have hospital admitting privileges, Harle writes, “women seeking abortions deserve the same competent and quality care as I’ve had through my two pregnancies.” She continues, “Women don’t give up that right when they choose abortion. We all deserve qualified medical services. Everyone — whatever their view on abortion — should agree with that.”

Of course, anyone who is actually pro-life from a biblical perspective could not actually come to this conclusion. The reality is that women who choose abortion — and those who advocate for it, practice it, or tolerate it — deserve nothing but death (Romans 1:32).

Let this sink in: for a Christian — at least, one who claims to be a Christian — to argue for safe, competent, and quality abortions is absurd. This is nothing more than the continued liberal drift in the Southern Baptist Convention being tolerated by the Church.

SBC Leader Blames Trump Supporters for Destroying Church’s “Witness,” Calls on Joe Biden to Unify Christians~Moore wants illegal immigrants to be given amnesty; associated with & funded by George Soros

The hypocrisy of leftist Evangelicalism is like a column in the comic section of the New York Times, except it’s not. Top Southern Baptist leader, Russell Moore scolded Christians who supported Donald Trump and blamed them for destroying the Church’s witness. In an interview with Time Magazine, Moore, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, blamed the recent riot at the nation’s capitol on “Trump-worshiping” Christians.

“The biggest threat facing the American church right now is not secularism but cynicism. That’s why we have to recover the credibility of our witness,” he told Time. “I don’t know a single family that’s not been divided over President Trump, and politics generally. I don’t know a single church that hasn’t been.”

While there are certainly those who claimed to be Christians who acted poorly and should be dealt with harshly during the attack at the Capitol, to assume that these were Christians — or that the attack was instigated by Christians — is irresponsible. And to assert that these attacks were instigated by Donald Trump is also irresponsible.

What Moore, the former Democrat staffer, doesn’t understand is that the reason Donald Trump was so divisive is because he, unlike any other president in modern history, has actually governed like a conservative. Conservatism, in the eyes of leftists like Russell Moore, is taboo. Russell Moore is no conservative and the Time Magazine article appeared to acknowledge this.

“He says both he and his family have been the subject of threats and that people have tried to dig up information that would prove he is a liberal,” the article stated and followed up with a sarcastic, “Heaven forfend!”

But what should concern Christians the most is that Moore believes that Joe Biden — a man who has promised to codify Roe and increase access to abortion, to promote child sexual immorality in public schools, and to silence conservative religious viewpoints in every facet of society — will be the man to “unify” the Church and the nation.

After tweeting that he would be praying for Biden’s success, in a follow-up interview with the Christian Post, Moore state that he’d be praying for Joe Biden’s “ability to unify.”

Biden has shown he is “willing and eager to listen to people” who disagree with him, he told the Christian Post.

“I hope that that’s the way that he decides to be as president,” he continued. “And what that’s going to mean is saying, ‘There are going to be some things that would make my base happy if I said or if I did, and I’m going to have to take into account the whole country and maybe disappoint people who support me just like I will disappoint people who oppose me sometimes.’”

After spending five years denouncing Donald Trump and lampooning anyone who supported him — instead of Hillary Clinton — Russell Moore, the Southern Baptist Convention’s most influential leader, now calls on Christians to unify around the most radical administration the nation has ever seen in the presidency.

Southern Baptist-Led Organization Praises Joe Biden For Giving Illegal Alien Felons Citizenship

The Southern Baptist Convention is now primarily an outlet to propagandize semi-conservative pew-sitters with left-wing politics.

The EIT recently gave glowing accolades to Joe Biden who has just ordered a cease on the construction of the Trump-era border wall. Matthew Soerens, one of the co-leaders of the EIT, told Christianity Today, “I see it as a positive sign, the new administration is leading on this issue as a day one priority.”

Joe Biden’s proposed policy will give all illegal aliens currently in the United States amnesty and an 8-year path to citizenship. The bill, dubbed the U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021, reads, in part:

The bill allows undocumented individuals to apply for temporary legal status, with the ability to apply for green cards after five years if they pass criminal and national security background checks and pay their taxes. Dreamers, TPS holders, and immigrant farmworkers who meet specific requirements are eligible for green cards immediately under the legislation. After three years, all green card holders who pass additional background checks and demonstrate knowledge of English and U.S. civics can apply to become citizens.

This bill, if passed, would give up to 20 million or more illegal aliens — which, is at the very least, a misdemeanor for a first offense and in many cases, a felony — currently in the United States amnesty and citizenship. It would also give them voting rights which, is well-known, that the vast majority of illegal immigrants into the United States support Democrats. This would solidify the Democrat majority for decades to come.

Last year, Russell Moore joined with George Soros to call on the United States to implement a “restitution-based” immigration plan — a plan that they say would allow illegal immigrants to stay in the country legally so long as they pay restitution to the government over a period of 7 years.

Beth Moore Says God is Judging His People Because They “Sinned Grievously” By Supporting Trump

ALLIE BETH STUCKEY SLAMS BETH MOORE:

Beth Moore is the Southern Baptist Convention’s top lady-preacher and prime merry-andrew of Evangelicalism. Beth Moore, like her spiritual brother, Russell Moore (no relation), has lead the charge in opposing conservative policies in the political realm, primarily railing against the evil orange man, daily.

Today, she has what she’s been asking for.

Moore has repeatedly lambasted conservative Evangelicals who supported Donald Trump while giving approval to those who support the pro-sodomy, pro-abortion anti-religious freedom political party. The Democrats, unlike the Republicans, stand for everything that God is against. In fact, the Democrat party platform is like the antithesis to the 10 Commandments. Yet, Beth Moore, like the growing swaths of leftist Evangelicals, are increasingly encouraging “political diversity” and giving approval to leftists.

Now, Beth Moore says that God is judging his people because so many Christians supported Donald Trump. In a series of tweets, she writes, “God’s got this thing about pride. He does not let it go unchecked. When his people continue in arrogance after multiple warnings, he is going to bring them down.”

While she doesn’t exactly explain what she means by “bring them down,” one can only assume that she means that God is punishing them. Today, the world finds out that the incoming Democrat president plans to unleash upon the nation a depraved, confused, sexually immoral person to lead the nation’s health policy. In the words of John Calvin, “when God wants to judge a nation, He gives them wicked rulers.”

Of course, repentance, she says, is what we should have done.

Repentance, instead of what? Repentance, instead of “doubling down,” apparently. Because, apparently, in Beth Moore’s simplistic and feeble mind, Republicans — especially Donald Trump — are pro-death for everyone except straight, white men.

Therefore, God is judging the Church for sinning “grievously” by “wedding evangelicalism to a political party.” Because, it wasn’t about protecting religious freedom — that we all know is now gone. It wasn’t about protecting unborn life — that we now know will be in greater danger. It wasn’t about protecting the consciences of people who don’t want to be forced to deny reality when it comes to sex and gender.

No.

It’s all about “power.”

Therefore, since so many Christians supported Donald Trump — cause, you know, all those white trailer park trash are all about maintaining their positions of power — God is releasing his judgment and the only way out is repentance.

Pro-Sodomy Female Preacher Joins Southern Baptist Leader in Call for Trump Impeachment

Earlier this week, Reformation Charlotte reported that Russell Moore, a Democrat and the head of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, was leading the Evangelical charge to call on Congress to impeach Donald Trump. The George Soros-linked Russell Moore wrote in an email communication that if he were a Senator, he would vote to convict Donald Trump of charges for inciting violence — a completely absurd charge.

Now, other leftists and pro-homosexual church leaders are joining Moore in his anti-conservative cause calling for the frivolous impeachment of Donald Trump to be upheld.

Among them is pro-sodomy, pro-abortion United Methodist General Secretary of Church and Society, Susan Henry-Crowe, who issued a statement in support of the impeachment and calling on Congress to bar him from ever holding office again.

“I, as General Secretary, support the U.S. House of Representatives’ impeachment of President Donald J. Trump,” she writes, “and urge the Senate to convict and bar him from ever holding public office again.” Citing absurd claims of racism and anti-Democratic sentiments, she continues, “The president bears responsibility for inciting this mob riot. Words were weaponized into violence last week, but the seeds had been sown years before.”

Of course, it should come as no surprise that a president who has governed further to the right than any president in modern history would be a threat to the continued leftward drift of progressive church leadership like Moore and Henry-Crowe.

Moore’s call for impeachment prompted one prominent seminary professor to call for the removal or resignation of Moore from his own office, as he does not represent the majority of people in the Southern Baptist Convention, yet, he continues to set himself up as the spokesperson for the Evangelical Church and uses his platform to promote his own leftist agenda.

Top Southern Baptist Leader Says If He Were Senator, He Would Vote to Impeach and Convict Donald Trump

Russell Moore, head of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission — a George Soros-linked front group for the Evangelical left — is arguably the most controversial figure in the American Church. That Moore, who spends denominational resources fighting for open borders, amnesty, and lobbying governments to build Islamic mosques, has somehow managed to hang on to this top leadership position despite calls from multiple angles for his resignation.

In a recent email communication, Russell Moore called for the impeachment of Donald Trump. But he didn’t stop there, he said that if he were a senator, he’d impeach Trump and vote to convict him — and that he’d be willing to risk losing his Senate seat to do so.

After making a ridiculous and unfounded case that, somehow, the president — who called unarguably called for peaceful protesting — incited a “violent” “insurrection,” he writes,

You don’t have to agree with me. I might be wrong. I don’t speak for anyone else, only myself. But you deserve to hear from me what I honestly think. If I were the President, I would resign. If I were the Vice President, I would assemble the cabinet in accordance with the 25th Amendment. If I were a Member of Congress, I would vote to impeach. And if I were a United States senator, I would vote to convict. And I would be willing, if necessary, to lose my seat to do so. As a matter of fact, I am willing, if necessary, to lose this seat.

Russell Moore is the primary cause of division in the Southern Baptist Convention. Had it not been for Moore’s divisive and continuous rhetoric against conservatives in the denomination, we would not see such animosity toward each other. Before Trump’s election in 2016, Moore continuously railed against the president prompting a response from the then-presidential candidate,

Trump v Moore.png

If Trump has been wrong about everything else, he is absolutely right about this — Russell Moore does not represent truly conservative Evangelicals. Russell Moore is a divisive man, he needs to be purged. Earlier, one prominent seminary professor called on him to be removed. The entire Southern Baptist Convention needs to stand with him in this call.

Evangelical Deep State Misleading Christians

In an interview with The New American magazine's Senior Editor Alex Newman, prominent Southern Baptist evangelist Thomas Littleton exposes the "Evangelical Deep State" and its nefarious efforts to mislead the Church and corrupt even conservative denominations. Among other concerns, he points to the normalization of homosexuality, the spread of support for "social justice" heresies, the joining together with the Marxist "Black Lives Matter" movement, and more. But people are waking up, he said. 🇺🇸 The New American: http://www.thenewamerican.com/

David French Joins Southern Baptist Leaders in Praising Joe Biden for “Character”

David French, a political commentator at the National Review — who also happens to be in bed with the leftist wing of Evangelicalism — has joined hands with progressive Southern Baptists such as Russell Moore of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) and president of the denomination, J.D. Greear to congratulate and extend a warm welcome to Joe Biden as their future pastor-in-chief. After years of relentless attacks on the current president Donald Trump over his “character flaws,” these men now praise Joe Biden for carrying the moral high ground despite the fact Biden opposes God from every conceivable angle.

In a recent piece at his personal blog titled May God Bless President Biden, David French asks, though he may disagree with Biden on policy issues, “since when do we require perfection or agreement to appreciate a good moment in a man’s life, especially when he has endured such terrible grief, including the recent death of his beloved son?”

Now, let that sink in for a moment. French, who claims to be a Christian and runs in circles with Southern Baptist elitists, demands we set aside our policy differences with Joe Biden because he has endured “terrible grief” in his life. Nevermind that Joe Biden wants to kill babies, force the LGBTQ agenda down your children’s throats in public schools, steal from hard workers to give to sluggards, destabilize the nation through open-borders policies and defunding law enforcement, and silencing the gospel by flushing religious freedom down the proverbial toilet. David French wants Christians to embrace him — all while he wanted Christians to reject Donald Trump.

FACT: Donald Trump is not a Christian. He may profess Christianity, but he does present the fruits of a born-again believer.

FACT: Donald Trump has done more for the unborn over the last four years than the vast majority of the professing Church, especially David French and his ilk.

FACT: Joe Biden is not a Christian. He is a Roman Catholic, but he is certainly no Christian. In fact, he does not even believe and follow what the Roman Catholic Church teaches on morality, let alone follow the Scriptures and believe in Christ.

FACT: Joe Biden has done nothing in 47 years to advance the cause of the Church, promote righteousness in our nation, defend the freedoms of Christians, or to give a voice to conservatives. In fact, he has fought for the exact opposite.

Joe Biden does not hold the moral high ground between him and Donald Trump. Hell, he wants to kill babies and force you to pay for it against your conscience. That alone should be enough to set any Christian against him. But his list of moral failures far exceeds anything Donald Trump could muster up. It’s just that these progressive leftists don’t see an anti-Christian agenda as immorality — and that’s what’s wrong with the Church.

Pastor Carl Lentz’ Five-Month Sexual Affair With Muslim Woman Began at His Anniversary

The 34-year-old said that they had much more than a 'fling'

A Muslim woman who claims to have had a five-month affair with befallen celebrity Hillsong NYC pastor, Carl Lentz, says that their relationship was much more than just a fling. According to Ranin (pictured above), a 34-year-old designer who spoke with The Sun, they had an emotional break-up after they were busted by Lentz’ wife who found sexting messages and “naughty photos” on his church office computer.

Lentz, who was fired last week amid “moral failures” — which were not mentioned in a letter sent by Brian Houston, Hillsong’s founder and CEO — admitted to being unfaithful in his marriage, but did not go into detail. According to Ranin, after she found out that they had been exposed, Lentz came over to “say goodbye in person” where they were intimate, once again.

Interestingly, according to when this affair began in May according to Ranin, Carl Lentz has had a pinned post on his Twitter account celebrating his marriage and anniversary.

17 years of marriage, today! I remember being told “the only competition you should have in your marriage, is who can serve each other better.” When our marriage is strong, that theme is protected and valued. When…

“17 years of marriage, today! I remember being told the only competition you should have in your marriage, is who can serve each other better,” Lentz hypocritically wrote on Instagram as he was sleeping with another woman, “When our marriage is strong, that theme is protected and valued. When our marriage has struggled, that theme has been distant… and thats because ‘Serving’ is not a word that we instantly gravitate towards because it involves putting yourself, your needs, your opinions second.”

Lest one be fooled into believing that Lentz is truly repentant and sorry for this, don’t be fooled. He did not stop because he felt remorse or shame and wanted to repent. He stopped because he got caught. All these years of leading a church, who can actually be surprised that sexual immorality would be so pervasive in a church so worldly with such a false gospel?

Ranin, whom wishes to keep her last name private, revealed to The Sun she wanted to tell her story so Carl’s followers know “there was another person on the other side of his statement that got hurt.”

She said his Instagram post about his firing was “offensive,” and made it seem like they “just had a fling."

The stunning brunette said: “I wasn’t there for just sex, we both found comfort and a deep, special connection with each other. I am very hurt because we both feel the same way about each other.

“He loves me and I love him. It was a love relationship that wasn’t planned. It wasn’t just a fling or just a sexual relationship."

She explained that the pair met in May at Domino Park in Brooklyn, New York, when he approached her to flirt and make small talk.

“I have no knowledge of the Christian world, I’m Muslim,” she said, insisting she initially had no idea that Carl was a famous celebrity pastor.

“He told me the most beautiful women come from the Middle East and we kept talking from there. We walked and talked more for a little bit and exchanged numbers.

“He told me his name was Carl but that’s it, he wouldn’t tell me his last name. And he told me that his job was as a sports agent,” Ranin claimed of his alleged secrecy regarding his occupation.

She claimed Carl, 42, refused to give his last name because he did not want to be “Googled” so she can “get to know him in person.”

NEW YORK (RNS) — In an Instagram post on Thursday (Nov. 5), Carl Lentz, the lead pastor of Hillsong NYC, admitted to an extramarital affair, ending a day of speculation as to why he had been fired.

On Wednesday, Hillsong founding pastor Brian Houston notified staff and members of Hillsong East Coast by email of Lentz’s termination. The email, which was obtained by Religion News Service, cited “leadership issues and breaches of trust, plus a recent revelation of moral failures” as the reason for the firing but did not reveal more details, saying to do so “would not be appropriate.”

In his Instagram post, Lentz admitted to being “unfaithful in my marriage, the most important relationship in my life.”

“This failure is on me, and me alone and I take full responsibility for my actions,” according to the post.

“When you accept the calling of being a pastor, you must live in such a way that it honors the mandate. That it honors the church, and that it honors God. When that does not happen, a change needs to be made and has been made in this case to ensure that standard is upheld,” Lentz said in the post.

He expressed gratitude for his time at the church and said leading Hillsong NYC “has been an honor in every sense of the word.”

“This is a hard ending to what has been the most amazing, impacting and special chapter of our lives.”

In a statement Houston posted on the church site later in the evening on Wednesday, he repeated much of his initial email but added praise for Lentz’s work at Hillsong and said he was grateful for the years of service Lentz and his wife gave to Hillsong NYC.

“They have a heart for people and we are confident that after a time of rest and restoration, God will use Carl in another way outside of Hillsong church. In terminating his tenure, we in no way want to diminish the good work he did here,” the statement said.

Lentz, in his post, also acknowledged a need for rest, for rebuilding trust with his wife and children and “taking real time to work on and heal my own life and seek out the help that I need.”

In his statement, Houston assured readers ministry would “proceed as usual,” and the leadership team was “praying that God would bring about an exciting new season for our church and this region.”

Lentz, 41, was one of a number of pastors GQ Magazine has described as “hypepriests” who lead churches frequented by celebrities. Friends and congregants include Justin Bieber and his wife, Hailey Baldwin Bieber, as well as the Jenner sisters.

Lentz, along with Houston’s son Joel, began Hillsong NYC, the first Hillsong East Coast church, in 2010. The church, part of the global network of Hillsong churches, quickly drew attention for the long lines waiting to be “let in” on Sunday mornings — and for the demographic waiting in those lines. The worshippers who flocked there were — like their lead pastor — young, hip and dressed looking more like they were headed to a rock concert than to Sunday morning church. Indeed, their venue, Irving Plaza in the Gramercy neighborhood of Manhattan, was a church by day and concert hall by night.

Lentz, relatively unknown before taking the helm of Hillsong NYC, became a darling of major media outlets for his hipster dress, his tattoo-covered arms and his celebrity congregants, including Justin Bieber, who according to GQ was baptized by the pastor in the bathtub of Tyson Chandler, a New York Knicks player at the time.

Lentz was raised in Virginia and played basketball at North Carolina State, where he told the New York Post he was “doing my own thing, being my own god.” He moved to Los Angeles to attend King’s College and Seminary, then headed to Australia to join Hillsong’s training program, Hillsong College, where he met his wife, Laura. He worked in youth ministry in Virginia Beach before moving to Brooklyn’s trendy Williamsburg neighborhood to launch Hillsong’s first U.S. location, according to media reports.

“While I have no doubt in my heart that this is the right course of action, I must mention Bobbie’s and my personal sadness, as we have known Laura her entire life and Carl for well over 20 years,” Houston wrote in his letter.

Lentz, in his post, apologized to his congregants and expressed a wish to tell them in person “because you are all owed that.” But he acknowledged that he could not.

“I am deeply sorry for breaking the trust of many people who we have loved serving and understand that this news can be very hard and confusing,” said the post. “To our pastors Brian and Bobbie, thank you for allowing us to lead, allowing us to thrive and giving us room to have a voice that you have never stifled or tried to silence.”

Pastors Brian and Bobbie Houston founded the original Hillsong Church in 1983 in the suburbs of Sydney, Australia. It now has locations in 28 countries around the world and, pre-pandemic, saw an average 150,000 attenders each week, according to its website.

Hillsong is also known for its popular worship music and conferences.

Neither Hillsong nor Carl Lentz immediately responded to requests for comment.

Popular NYC Hillsong pastor, Carl Lentz, has reportedly been terminated from his position as lead pastor for “moral failures.” In a letter sent to the staff of Hillsong NYC and obtained by Religion News Service, Hillsong founder and CEO, Brian Houston expressed regret in his decision to let Lentz go.

The letter did not go into detail, according to RNS, in exactly what these “moral failures” were, however, Houston explained that his actions were not in light of “leadership issues and breaches of trust, plus a recent revelation of moral failures.”

“I know this will come as a shock to you, but please know that this action was not taken lightly and was done in the best interests of everyone, including Pastor Carl,” Houston wrote.

“Please understand that it would not be appropriate for us to go into detail about the events that led to this decision. However you can be assured that this decision was made in order to honor God and pastorally care for you, our East Coast family, Pastor Carl and his family,” Houston continued.

Lentz was recently under fire by Christians after he announced to a CNN host that he may be open to affirming homosexuality at some point.

During an interview with CNN, Lentz was asked if he could see his church changing views in the future since there are so many people who are “turned off” from church because of conservative politics.

“Anything’s possible,” Lentz said, after saying he refuses to endorse political candidates.

While we don’t know the exact reason for Lentz’ termination, we can rest assured that it will come out at some point. Often, when a church leader or pastor is terminated citing “moral failures,” it often involves some sort of sexual immorality.

Lentz, a good friend of Justin Bieber, is well-known for his affinity for worldly things. He wears highly expensive clothing and lives a luxurious lifestyle. In 2017, Lentz and Justin Bieber were caught together in a bar in New Zealand removing their clothing and acting promiscuously while taking liquor shots.

This story is developing.

Donald Trump’s Lawyer Rebukes Southeastern Seminary Professor For Being a Liberal

Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS), increasingly one of the most liberal seminaries in the Evangelical Church, recently hired a liberal English professor — who supports ministries that promote woman-to-woman and man-to-man intimate relationships — from Liberty University. Karen Swallow Prior, who served many years on the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) as a research fellow, has been outspoken in her support of “gay Christianity” over the years.

Prior makes no qualms about her unbiblical positions as many have been warning about her for years. It wasn’t until recently, however, that Swallow Prior has completely unveiled herself as a totally “woke” leftist without a conservative bone in her body and people are finally starting to notice.

Recently, Donald Trump’s lawyer, who also represented John MacArthur’s church in a battle against Los Angeles over religious freedom, called out Swallow Prior for defending far-left radical Vice-Presidential candidate, Kamala Harris. While conservative Malachi O’Brien tweeted favorably that Kamala Harris had been “canceled” because of a lack of support in Texas, Swallow Prior jumped in to defend Harris.

Swallow Prior’s defense when Trump’s and MacArthur’s attorney, Jenna Ellis jumped in:

Here is where Ellis’ response was gold.

Karen Swallow Prior is a liberal activist and sadly, she represents a large majority of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Evangelical Church. Increasingly, the divide between the liberals and the conservatives is growing, and thankfully so. Christians cannot in any way support the Democrat party — to do so is to support the things that God hates.

David Platt Says You Should Leave His Church if You Oppose People Supporting Pro-Abortion Candidates

David Platt

SEE: https://reformationcharlotte.org/2020/11/02/david-platt-says-you-should-leave-his-church-if-you-oppose-people-supporting-pro-abortion-candidates/;

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational & research purposes:

David Platt has been on a leftist trajectory for several years. Platt, who has at many times been a staunch defender of the faith and a great expositor of the Scriptures, has sadly, as so many have, lost his focus, forgotten his first love, and embraced the gospel of social justice — described in the words of the Apostle Paul as “another gospel.”

Platt, like John Piper, has embraced a grossly unbiblical idea — that Christians have the freedom of conscience to support whatever political candidates they want. This idea embraces the notion that politics, in general, are subjective and the positions held and policies enacted by the different parties are morally neutral and not subject to the law of God.

But this ungodly postmodern idea is contradictory to the nature of God who has set in stone his law and is unchangeable and unwavering. As Christians, we do not have the freedom to “vote our conscience.” We are obligated to seek God’s view and to hold to that and vote accordingly.

Despite this biblical truth, David Platt, the popular Bible teacher who hosts the annual Secret Church simulcast conference that many Southern Baptist churches take part in, has made it clear that if you openly oppose other members in his church who support Democrats, you don’t belong at his church.

Comparing the horrific act of abortion — and the Democrat position to increase and expand it at an indefinite rate — to Donald Trump’s personal immorality, Platt equates the two as morally equivalent. Platt treats Donald Trump’s boasting and personal immorality as equally repugnant as the killing of innocent children. But what Platt, and the rest of the increasingly liberal pastors, fail to understand is that Donald Trump is not legislating his personal immorality into national policy. Unlike Donald Trump, the Democrats, whose political platform is to kill, steal, and destroy, want to push every iota of that down everyone’s throat and make it illegal to oppose them.

And this is what David Platt supports and says if you oppose, you don’t belong in his church. In a recent sermon, Platt calls on Christians to unify under a false unity, one where his church members are not of one sound mind or accord, and instead, just keep it to yourself.

Do not divide the church over political positions, convictions, or calculations that are not clear and direct in God’s word… We will not tell people to vote for this candidate or that party…I fear calling you to do something that I can not show you clearly and directly in God’s word he has called you to do…

I have full confidence calling you to oppose abortion and to defend the lives of children in the womb because God makes his work in the womb clear in Psalm 139. You cannot follow Jesus as a member of this church and advocate for abortion. (Editor’s note. This is more than we can say for JD Greear’s church, who does not abide by this maxim.)

I have full confidence to call you to promote a biblical understanding of sexuality and marriage because God makes his definitions of male and female and marriage clear in Genesis 1 and 2 and throughout the rest of the bible. You cannot follow Jesus as a member of this church and disregard God’s word in these ways.

I have full confidence in calling you to care for the oppressed, the poor, the orphan, the widow, and the sojourner, because God says these things multitudes of times to his people in his word You cannot follow Jesus as a member of this church and be calloused to the oppressed, poor, orphan, the widow, or the sojourner.

And I have full confidence calling you to never affirm or overlook sexual immorality, boastful pride, vulgarity, dishonestly, name-calling, and strife -stirring in your life or others’ lives, because God has said all over his word that all of those things are deadly.

So then how do you vote? For this candidate? For that candidate? For third candidate? For no candidate? And I don’t have a verse that answers that question for you. Different, genuine followers of Jesus will therefore come to different conclusions on the answer to that question. And assuming you are applying God’s word as prayerfully and as wisely and as faithfully as you know how to your political decision, then we will not break fellowship in Christ over that decision.

Now as soon as I saw that, I realize some people think we should break fellowship in Christ over the vote. Some people think, ‘I cannot be in the same church with someone who votes for Biden.’ Other people think, ‘I cannot be in the same church with someone who votes for Trump.’

And if you think either of these things, and I say this as thoughtfully and compassionately as I know how, Mclean Bible Church may not be the right church for you. Because we are not going to divide over the vote here. And if you think we should, if you think I or other pastors in this church should promote a political candidate or party, and you think this is worth dividing the church over, then I’m sincerely sad about that, because I treasure our fellowship together in Jesus, but at the same time I’m truly happy for you to be in another church as long as that church is preaching the gospel.

Jerry Falwell Jr. Sues Liberty University for ‘Damaging His Reputation’ Following ‘Forced’ Resignation

BY HEATHER CLARK

SEE: https://christiannews.net/2020/10/30/jerry-falwell-jr-sues-liberty-university-for-damaging-his-reputation-following-forced-resignation/;

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational & research purposes:

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Jerry Falwell, Jr., former president of Liberty University, which hails itself as the world’s largest Christian university, has filed a lawsuit against the school to allege that officials “needlessly injured and damaged his reputation” via statements made following his resignation. Falwell had been placed on leave after posting, and then deleting, a photo in which he had his pants unzipped, and then was asked to resign after a former business partner revealed that he had an affair for years with Falwell’s wife and claimed that Falwell was privy to it.

According to a press release, Falwell argues that Giancarlo Granda, who engaged in sexual activity with his wife, Becki, had made false allegations against him in an attempt to extort money out of the couple. He says that Liberty University board members accepted the allegations without investigation in order to “force” his resignation.

The suit states that officials then released statements that, by effect, served to “tarnish, minimize, and outright destroy the legacy of the Falwell family and Mr. Falwell’s reputation.”

“We attempted to meet several times with the Liberty University Board of Trustees Executive Committee but were unsuccessful in doing so. Thus, we were forced to seek remedy for Mr. Falwell’s ongoing injuries and damage to his reputation through the court,” attorney Robert Raskopf of the law firm Quinn Emanuel said in a statement.

As previously reported, Falwell, the son of the late Moral Majority leader Jerry Falwell, Sr., resigned from Liberty University in August after acknowledging that his wife had a years-long affair with a young business partner.

Granda, who worked with the couple surrounding a hostel that he owned in Miami, Florida, took the story to the media, claiming that Falwell sat in the room or watched from a camera while sexual encounters happened over the course of seven years.

He also released a recorded phone call in which Becki Falwell expressed that she struggled with the idea of him dating other girls, even to the point of tears, and Jerry Falwell Jr. remarked, “You’re going to make her jealous, Gian.”

Falwell denied having any participation in the affair, stating that he “learned” about it and became so upset that he lost 80 pounds.

“Becki had an inappropriate personal relationship with this person, something in which I was not involved,” Falwell said in a statement to the Washington Examiner after Reuters first reported on the matter. “It was nonetheless very upsetting to learn about.”

He stated that he forgave his wife, and the couple sought to put distance between themselves and Granda, but he became “aggressive.”

“Eventually, he began threatening to publicly reveal this secret relationship with Becki and to deliberately embarrass my wife, family, and Liberty University unless we agreed to pay him substantial monies,” Falwell alleged. “We were doing our best to respectfully unravel this ‘fatal attraction’ type situation to protect our family and the university.”

Thursday’s press release from Falwell’s attorney also contended, “Based on research and investigation, this individual appears to be supported financially by political opponents of Mr. Falwell in the midst of a heated presidential campaign, likely including the anti-Trump political action committee called The Lincoln Project.”

Granda has denied that engaging in extortion, posting a statement to Twitter that read in part, “[L]et me be clear, I am not profiting in any way, shape or form from coming forward and telling the truth about the Falwells.” He said that Falwell was lying in an attempt to “discredit” him.

“[A]s recently as last year, [Jerry] participated in video calls where Mrs. Falwell was naked and Jerry was watching,” Granda wrote.

He also alleged that Falwell sent him an inappropriate photo of a student, but Falwell sought to defend himself by telling the Washington Post that it was a screenshot from a video where his daughter-in-law’s friend showed her “granny panties” under her skirt, which he thought was funny and subsequently shared with others.

Falwell had already been placed on indefinite leave two weeks before his resignation after he posted — and then deleted — a vacation photo to Instagram where he mimicked his wife’s pregnant assistant, but was photographed knowing that his pants were unzipped.

Falwell told WLNI “MorningLine” that neither he or the assistant were able to button their pants.

“She’s pregnant, so she couldn’t get her pants up,” Falwell stated. “I had on a pair of jeans that I hadn’t worn in a long time, so I couldn’t get mine zipped either.”

“So, I just put my belly out like hers,” Falwell continued. “I should never have put it (the photo) up and embarrassed her.”

The photograph was taken at a “Trailer Park Boys”-themed outing on a yacht, where the Falwells were on vacation. The vile Canadian-based show filled with profanity, alcoholism, drug use, sexual immorality and other ungodliness features episode titles such as “[Expletive] Community College, Let’s Get Drunk and Eat Chicken Fingers,” “I’m Not Gay, I Love Lucy … Wait A Second, Maybe I Am Gay,” “Gimme My [Expletive] Money Or Randy’s Dead”, and “You Want The Lot Fees, [Sexual Vulgarity]”.

A coalition of Liberty University alumni, students and faculty soon launched a petition calling for the Board of Trustees to permanently remove Falwell from his position as president and “replace him with a responsible and virtuous Christian leader.” They said that the matter was not over a single incident but a pattern of behavior throughout much of his tenure.

“I was never called to be a pastor. My calling was to use my legal and business expertise to make Liberty University the evangelical version of Note Dame,” Falwell told ABC News surrounding the resignation. “Some of us are called to be preachers, that wasn’t mine. I was called to make Liberty University the greatest Christian university in the world, and I couldn’t have done that as a preacher.”

A week after his departure, it was revealed that Becki Falwell called 911 after being contacted by her husband to advise that he had fallen and was hurt. She broke into the house to find him bleeding and admitted to the operator that Falwell had been drinking, but when asked how much, she replied, “I’m not going to answer that question.”

In his most recent statement, Falwell accused Liberty University of “jumping to conclusions” about the Granda matter. While it is not clear exactly which remarks from the school he takes issue with, the Executive Committee had commented in one press release, “[W]e have learned enough about the past to know that we had no choice but to take the leadership of Liberty University in a new direction.”

“I am saddened that university officials, with whom I have shared so much success and enjoyed such positive relationships, jumped to conclusions about the claims made against my character, failed to properly investigate them, and then damaged my reputation following my forced resignation,” he said.

“While I have nothing but love and appreciation for the Liberty community, and I had hoped to avoid litigation, I must take the necessary steps to restore my reputation and hopefully help repair the damage to the Liberty University brand in the process.”

As previously reported, Liberty University has hired a forensics firm to investigate “all facets” of the school’s operations throughout Falwell’s tenure as president, including financial, real estate and legal dealings.

It said in a statement on Aug. 31 that, going forward, Liberty University wants to ensure that its leaders reflect the spiritual mission of the institution by their “words, actions and example.”

“That is why, in addition to starting a search for a new president, we are also reviewing options to establish a new role in the top leadership of the university for someone who will serve as a spiritual coach, mentor, and guide to help ensure that every member of the university leadership fulfills his or her spiritual responsibility to live out the Christian walk expected of each and every one of us at Liberty,” the committee outlined.

Acting President Jerry Prevo, a former pastor, has also been tasked with improving university operations “enrich[ing] the spiritual mission” of Liberty University.

SOUTHERN BAPTIST PRESIDENT JD Greear Says: Christians are Cursed Since They Don’t Fight for “Gender Justice”

JUDGES 5:23-"Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of the LORD, curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of the LORD, to the help of the LORD against the mighty.

JD Greear, president of the Southern Baptist Convention — who denounced Southern Baptists as racists and white supremacists, called on Christians to stand up for LGBTQ rights, and has a pro-choice woman leading bible studies at his church and also says that people who are followers of Jesus will think about the “rights of immigrants” while at the ballot box — has denounced the Church as “cursed” like Meroz for not fighting for “racial justice” and “gender justice.”

Greear, recently complained in a sermon that Christians today, like Christians during the time of American slavery, have a “malaise” about matters of justice because, he says, it doesn’t “directly affect them.”

“Whether we’re talking about racial justice or gender justice or what have you,” he says, “tragically…there’s often been a malaise in the church…because the injustice did not directly affect those of us sitting in places of privilege. Like Meroz, it didn’t affect our tribe.”

Of course, he doesn’t exactly explain what “gender justice” is, however, the website, Gender Justice U.S. defines it as “a world where everyone can thrive regardless of their gender, gender expression, or sexual orientation.” And since Greear has called on Christians to stand up for gay rights and says that using “preferred pronouns” for transgender people is “pronoun hospitality” and that he believes he should do it, one can draw their own conclusion as to what Greear means by the term.

Greear argued that Christians are “cursed,” like Meroz, for sitting back and “doing nothing” while oppressed people are bearing the burdens of the privileged.

John MacArthur & Justin Peters On What Is Up With Beth Moore

QUOTE FROM ARTICLE BELOW:

"When someone claims a force entered her and wrote the book without her knowledge or mental consciousness, then forced her to put ink to paper, and then made the editing decision of when the book was finished, sounds like possession. Or Automatic Writing, which amounts to the same thing."

"“Automatic writing, also called psychography, is a claimed psychic ability allowing a person to produce written words without consciously writing. The words purportedly arise from a subconscious, spiritual, or supernatural source“. (Wikipedia)"

SOUTHERN BAPTIST APOSTASY EXPOSED BY TWO FORMIDABLE CHRISTIAN APOLOGISTS:

IS BETH MOORE POSSESSED?

BY ELIZABETH PRATA

SEE: https://the-end-time.org/2020/10/22/is-beth-moore-possessed/;

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational & research purposes:

I’ve been wondering this for a while. I have reasons for thinking it, and I mean the question with absolutely no snark, no sarcasm, and no mal-intent. Is Beth Moore possessed?

The question is sincere, but after I explore it briefly, my question also provides an opportunity to have a larger discussion about demons & possession.

I don’t cherry-pick one bad photo to make a case, either. She has looked like this for a long time, years. There are many photos you can search wherein the search results we see a seemingly half-crazed Beth with what is known as “crazy eyes”.

The Matthew 6:22 verse is speaking of a conflict between light and darkness …what you look at is what you treasure, and manifests itself in dueling interests and priorities. However when we look at people in the Bible who were possessed, it also speaks to their physical appearance before and after. For example, the Gadarene demoniac was undressed, filthy, bloody, and wild-acting. The Bible shows us that afterward he was dressed and in his right mind. Quite a contrast. When we combine the two ideas, that the Mt 6:22 verse that what you spiritually ‘look at’ your mind will follow, and if you are possessed, that your body will eventually demonstrate the interior state, you have the point. One follows the other.

This question affords a legitimate opportunity to share concepts and verses regarding spiritual possession and a Christian’s spiritual warfare. Christians shrink from this discussion but it’s important not to.

Reason #1 for my question: Beth Moore is not a Christian. How do I know? She is a rebel against God. She preaches at pulpits, she preaches a different Jesus, she accepts alleged personal direction from God in voices & whispers, she prophesies (and falsely, too), she refuses correction, she lives a feminist, un-Titus-like lifestyle, and she is unrepentant and unteachable. (1 Timothy 2:12Revelation 2:20Galatians 1:62 Corinthians 11:4Jeremiah 23:21Proverbs 5:12–13Titus 2:3-5). No one can do those and other sins for so long without repenting. No one can do those sins as a teacher and not be disqualified. The Spirit would not allow it. Remember, unsaved people are under satan’s jurisdiction as slaves to sin. (Romans 6:1619). They can be entered by him as satan did to Judas or into others by one of his demons.

Secondly and concerningly, Moore wrote in the preface to her book When Godly People do Ungodly Things, a scenario that adds up to possession. She wrote:

“Unbeknownst to me, He’s been writing each chapter on my heart for several years. When the message for this book was complete (in His estimation — not mine!), God compelled me to ink it on paper with a force of the Holy Spirit unparalleled in my experience. He whisked me to the mountains of Wyoming where I entered solitary confinement with Him, and in only a few short weeks, I wrote the last line.”

When someone claims a force entered her and wrote the book without her knowledge or mental consciousness, then forced her to put ink to paper, and then made the editing decision of when the book was finished, sounds like possession. Or Automatic Writing, which amounts to the same thing.

Automatic writing, also called psychography, is a claimed psychic ability allowing a person to produce written words without consciously writing. The words purportedly arise from a subconscious, spiritual, or supernatural source“. (Wikipedia)

It is delusion to say she wrote a book via the Holy Spirit. If she is right that it was the Holy Spirit (it wasn’t) then what He wrote is scripture. (Even the Bible writers weren’t forced, but He used their mind and personality to inspire the writing, not force it). So I personally think that between her long rebellion, increasingly frenetic demeanor, and the presence of the force that compelled her to do things, it is likely that Moore is possessed.

Whether or not you believe so, please read the following about possession. It is real and it happens today. Of course with modern knowledge about the real cases of actual mental disabilities and diseases, we should be careful to separate the medical cases from the spiritual. But the spiritually possessed exist.

In recent news we read that cases of demonic possession are rising. Even though the Catholic Church is a false church, priests ‘trained’ in exorcism have increasingly been sought out to perform their ritual in hopes of ridding the person of the suspected demon.

John MacArthur recounts a case where he and an elder helped a young woman who was obviously and chillingly possessed. Her strength seemed superhuman and exceeded the elder’s, who had been a boxer in the Navy. They gave her the Gospel and she repented. She was immediately calm afterward.

Is demonic possession real?

In the New Testament, Satan and his demons had the power to enter and possess people; this is what the Bible shows happened to Judas (Luke 22:3Luke 8:30–32). Many other people were possessed, too. (Mark 9:17-29Matthew 12:43-45Luke 11:14Acts 16:16-18). The Bible is true. If it records incidences of demon possession, exorcisms, and casting out of demons, it happened.

Does possession happen today? Wasn’t that just in Bible times?

As we learn from the Bible, there is a wicked force of evil spirits in the world called demons. Originally they were created by God as holy angels. Their home was heaven and they served and worshiped God. But through pride and rebellion they became evil. Their leader, Lucifer, became known as Satan the devil, he was able to lead one third of those holy angels in his prideful rebellion.  As a result of their rebellion and pride, they were cast out of heaven by God Himself. They number in the millions. They are eternal. Created by God originally they will live forever. In the future, they will be thrown into a lake of fire where they will be tormented forever. They cannot be redeemed, they cannot be forgiven, nor will they or can they repent. They are forever wicked. They operate in the world today to achieve the purposes of Satan and thwart the purposes of God. They are behind the world’s complex system of evil and they are the dominating powers in the lives of all people who do not belong to God through faith in Jesus Christ. The whole of humanity is in the grip of this force of evil spirits. They are real, they are personal, and they are wicked.

Can a Christian be possessed?

No. Plainly, no. Christians are sealed with the guarantee of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us. A demon can’t enter what is sealed and protected by God. If a demon entered a believer where the Holy Spirit dwells, would the Spirit cede His authority to a demon and allow the demon to direct that person into sin? No.

A Christian can certainly be tempted externally by the invisible influence of a demon, but not possessed bodily. GotQuestions explains, “Demon possession involves a demon having complete control over the thoughts and/or actions of a person. (Luke 4:33-35).” (Remember Beth Moore’s experience of being overtaken in thought so that a force could write a book through her). GotQ explains that James 4:7 says for believers to resist the devil, it doesn’t instruct us to cast him out. Ephesians 6:10-18 never gives instructions for the believer in his spiritual warfare to cast out a demon.

We don’t look for satan or one of his minions under every rock. We have been released from bondage and we look to Christ. But we don’t ignore or underemphasize the real danger to the unbeliever for him to be possessed by an evil spirit or the believer to be harassed. Paul was harassed by a demon for years. He thrice asked the Lord to take it away. We know from the Bible that false teachers have entered into the church in order to pollute the doctrines of God and draw believers away. (Galatians 2:4). It stands to reason some of those spies and false teachers are not only under the influence of satan but possessed by one of his demons.

We know and understand that in ongoing warfare among nations, there are sleeper cells that operate secretly waiting for an opportune time try to undermine national security, and there are active double agents who try to do the same. These kinds of activities also exist in spiritual warfare, too. That a teacher such as Beth Moore who we know is false, meaning she is under heavy influence from satan to perpetrate false doctrine among believers, might also be internally possessed, is not impossible to believe. Her words, behavior, long-term falsity and those eyes, tell us the story.

From a covert warfare point of view, what better position to have than to possess a person so firmly planted on the inside? A person with millions of followers, who has become nearly untouchable in terms of criticism and heavy protection from influencers and officers of the faith? He is the most crafty creature in the garden. (Genesis 3:1).

Spiritual warfare includes occasional demonic possession even in this day and age. Christians are hesitant to discuss this fact because it makes us look crazy. Possession is not an everyday occurrence but it exists. We should be aware and we should be forthright about its existence. In John MacArthur’s experience he said when dealing with the young lady who was possessed, we have no authority over the kingdom of darkness. We can’t cast out or drive away or beat a demon at his own game. The Gospel is the authority. The Gospel via the blood of Christ will overcome, in His timing, any demonic activity going on. So effectively, we do the same as we always do. Stand for Christ, give the Gospel, know our Bible, and ask people to repent.

**Updated to delete the Matthew 6:22 verse which even with my explanation I could not make clear my thinking on it. Rather than let it be a stumbling block detracting from the main message, I cut it out. The post was long, anyway, lol. (and to change the ‘plead the blood’ phraseology that people seem to object to. )

Gays Team Up With Beth Moore’s Daughter to Attack John MacArthur for Biblical View on Sexuality

John MacArthur has been on the defensive from practically every angle for the last several months. From playing defense against the woke feminist social justice Evangelical camp after rightly telling Beth Moore to “go home,” to now being threatened with jail time by his government leaders for having church during the coronavirus “pandemic,” John MacArthur’s steadfastness and unwavering faithfulness to the gospel should be an example to every Christian alive today.

Sadly, some of the harshest attacks come from within the most prominent leaders of Evangelicalism. But, today, MacArthur is being attacked by “gay Christians” who team up with Beth Moore & Co for his biblical views on sexuality. Nate Collins explains how John MacArthur made a biblical comparison of sexually aberrant behaviors — except, of course, Collins didn’t explain it that way — and called John MacArthur’s views “toxic.” One can only assume that Collins would find the vast majority of the Bible to be “toxic.”

Collins, a sodomite leader from the Revoice Conference launched his attack today against John MacArthur and Beth Moore’s daughter, Melissa, joined the chorus calling it “awful” and how it “hurts my heart” that he had to “endure this.”

Revoice is the “gay Christian” movement that has been largely condemned by conservative Evangelicals and even condemned by more moderates including Al Mohler. Revoice is led by openly-gay but “celibate” men who claim to be Christians but whose sexual orientation is not (and cannot be) changed. This movement, led by people like Nate Collins and Preston Sprinkle, advocate for acceptance and inclusion of homosexuals in the ranks of Christianity and those who choose to remain single (from the opposite sex) should form close, intimate, marriage-like relationships with people of the same sex with the exception that the abstain from intercourse.

Earlier this year, Melissa Moore affirmed a lesbian priest in her homosexual relationship. Beth Moore, herself, has exposed herself as full-on egalitarian — that is, one who rejects the biblical model for the roles of men and women — and has launched a tirade against biblical womanhood. She has practically embraced homosexuality and has joined hands with gay activists a number of times for various causes — usually for opposing the biblical view on something. She has refused to denounce homosexuality as sinful and says that doing so is “exceeding Scripture.”

She has joined the chorus on the liberal left in denouncing white people and always assuming the worst about straight, white males. She promotes unity with well known false teachers like Joyce Meyer and has even declared that spending time in God’s Word is not the same thing as spending time with God.

She’s a mocker and has referred to those who go to bed early on Saturday nights for church as “trolls.” And she has made a habit of using acronyms for cuss words to “rebuke” her “fellow leaders.” Bottom line, she has no respect for the authority of God’s Word. Beth Moore’s influence extends past just her family — she has turned much of the Southern Baptist Convention toward this wicked ideology.

The woke movement in the Evangelical Church has taken a nosedive directly into the muck and mire of leftist and progressive thought. Evangelicalism no longer stands apart from the world, but is now neck-deep into the same progressive garbage the world is part of. Partiality — a sin which God hates — is now par for the course in Southern Baptist institutions, and, somehow, the people who practice it have come to the conclusion that it’s a good idea.

“An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile — hoping it will eat him last.” — Winston Churchill

The Southern Baptist Convention’s flagship seminary, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS), under the leadership of Al Mohler, has now implemented a reparations program for blacks. The program will pay $5 million to black students over the course of fifteen years. Mohler proudly announced that SBTS would be practicing partiality on Twitter.

In a press release from SBTS, the plan is laid out:

Beginning with the 2022-2023 academic year, SBTS will set aside $1 million of endowed and restricted funds as an endowment to assist qualified black students at SBTS through the Garland Offutt Scholars Program, honoring the legacy of the seminary’s first African-American full graduate. Additionally, the seminary will set aside $1 million for this fund every three years until a goal of $5 million is reached. “We hope to assist in the development of African American pastors and theologians and scholars and leaders by means of this historic new initiative,” Mohler said. These funds will be in addition to the current scholarship and student aid programs of the Seminary.

White students are disqualified from this scholarship based on their skin color — or lack of. That Mohler and the leadership of this seminary think this is a good idea speaks volumes of his qualifications as a leader.

But what makes this really interesting is that while the seminary has decided to pay reparations to blacks out of a “special debt to African American Christians,” as Mohler puts it, is that the same leadership decided against changing the names of buildings on the campus that were named after slave-owners despite the repeated requests of Marxist Southern Baptists like Dwight McKissic.

The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary unanimously voted not to remove the names of the school’s founders from several campus buildings, but embraced steps to lament the institution’s racial history and provide up to $5 million in scholarships for African American students over the next few years.

“We’re not going to erase our history in any respect or leave our history unaddressed,” [Mohler] said. “We’re trying to do what is right for a Christian institution. I’m incredibly thankful to this board of trustees for its careful deliberation of these issues and its unanimity in supporting Southern Seminary in dealing honestly with the burden of history and dealing respectfully with the blessing of a heritage.

“We stand in conviction on the great truths of the Christian faith and in confessional agreement with our founders. Their theological orthodoxy and Baptist confessionalism are an invaluable inheritance, and we stand with them in thhttps://news.sbts.edu/2020/10/12/sbts-trustees-retain-building-names-address-history-establish-5-million-scholarship-for-african-american-students/eological conviction, period. But we deal honestly with their sin and complicity in slavery and racism. We are seeking to respond to the moral and theological burden of history by being a far more faithful institution in the present and in the future than we’ve been in the past and in this central respect we acknowledge a special debt to African American Christians.”

Clearly, this type of partiality is treated as sin by the Scriptures.

“My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory … Have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?” — James 2:1,4

“For God shows no partiality.” — Romans 2:11

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” — Galatians 3:28

This is not biblical. This is not right. That skin color is the qualification for scholarship is nothing more than appeasing the woke crowd and walking in the ways of the world. It would be one thing if the scholarship were offered to anyone needing financial assistance irrespective of race or ethnicity. But to disqualify one ethnicity while qualifying another is punishing one ethnicity's sins they did not commit while rewarding another ethnicity for plight they did not experience. This is partiality and there is no excuse for it.

Southern Baptist Leaders Sign Statement Declaring Baby-Killers “Followers of Jesus”

Last week, when Billy Graham’s granddaughter signed an endorsement of Joe Biden dubbed “Pro-Life Evangelicals for Biden” — an oxymoron if there ever was one — it seemed as though it was settled that Evangelicalism had completely fallen. It seemed as though the Evangelical Church’s leadership has taken such a sharp left turn from biblical fidelity that it was no longer recognizable as the Church of Jesus Christ.

It seemed.

But now, Russell Moore, one of the most influential leaders in the Southern Baptist Convention and the head of the Southern Baptist Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, along with Ed Stetzer, former head of the Southern Baptist Convention’s LifeWay Research, and Danny Akin, president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, have signed a statement declaring people who vote to advance the “right” to murder their children as “followers of Jesus.”

These Southern Baptists — who joined with rank apostates from far-left organizations such as the AND Campaign — have essentially endorsed not only the sin of abortion, but homosexuality and other forms of lawlessness that God hates as acceptable among the ranks of the Christian Church.

“As evangelical Christians, we are called by Jesus to love God and to love our neighbor,” the statement reads. “As citizens who follow this call, we must engage with humility, civility, intellectual rigor and honesty in the complex and contentious social issues that face our nation. We invite all followers of Jesus — whether Democrats, Republicans or Independents — to join us in seeking the health of the nation for the good of all people.”

Here’s the bottom line: you can be a Christian or you can be a Democrat — but you can’t be both. This seems like such a simple concept to those who profess Christ and actually believe what the Word of God says about morality. The Democrat party has made their party platform essentially the official opposition to the law of God. Everything God hates, the Democrat party platform loves; abortion, homosexuality, theft, lawlessness, and extremely important, they want to strip religious freedom.

Why would Russell Moore, Danny Akin, Ed Stetzer, and a host of other “Evangelicals” sign on to such an anti-Christ statement? Ten years ago, this would have been an extremely difficult sell and, fifteen years ago, impossible. But, today, it seems like par for the course. The vast majority of pew sitters are either clueless as to what’s happening in their denomination, or they are complicit. Increasingly, more and more are complicit.

The statement itself is nothing more than a replacement of the gospel with social justice activism — seeking to bring together politically-neutered professing Christians who won’t speak up about what’s actually biblically right and true, but, instead, want to make the gospel about man’s work bringing societal change through socialism rather than it being about Christ’s work on the cross the change hearts to advance the Kingdom of God that is “not of this world.”

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.” — John 18:36

It has become evident and clear what “kingdom” these progressive church leaders are a part of.
