NEW: Chinese spy balloon contents revealed

Two years after a mysterious Chinese spy balloon was shot down off the coast of South Carolina, a new report provides insight as to what was inside. The balloon was shot down by the US military over the Atlantic Ocean on February 4, 2023 after flying over Alaska, across the US and over to the East Coast. A report published this week by Newsweek now states the balloon contained technology from at least five American companies. Inside the balloon, the report states were satellite communication module, sensors and other sophisticated surveillance equipment, some of which was held in a foam cooler. The FBI has not responded to questions about the Newsweek report. When it was first spotted, the Chinese government claimed it was a weather balloon that blew off course, but US intelligence agencies found it was being used for spying. US intelligence officials have said that the information captured by the spy balloon was not successfully relayed to China. Patrick Cronin, the Asia-Pacific Security Chair at Hudson Institute joined LiveNOW from FOX’s Josh Breslow to discuss the report and what still remains unclear and unknown.
