The shooter who opened fire at Pastor Joel Osteen’s megachurch in Houston, Texas, has been identified by law enforcement as 36-year-old Genesee Ivonne Moreno.

On Sunday at approximately 2:00 p.m., the transgender female gunman walked into the Lakewood Church with “Free Palestine” written on their AR-15. According to reports, Moreno was wearing a trench coat and a backpack and was accompanied by a seven-year-old boy who has been confirmed to have been the shooter’s biological son.

According to detectives in the Montgomery County warrant obtained by the Houston Police Department, Moreno entered Lakewood Church, the third largest megachurch in the U.S., and then shot and injured a man with an AR-15 rifle.

Moreno then aimed the gun at security guards who weren’t on duty. Before more harm could be done, Moreno was soon shot by two law enforcement officers and died due to the wounds sustained.

The male victim, who was identified to be a 57-year-old, and the seven-year-old boy who was with the Moreno, were both struck by gunfire at some point during the shooting. It’s unclear if the victims were struck by shots fired by the responding officers or by bullets from the suspect’s gun.

According to the police, the child, was transported in critical condition to Texas Children’s Hospital.

In addition, the warrant stated that Moreno claimed to have a bomb before being killed. In order to investigate Moreno’s motive and intentions for the shooting, detectives sought a warrant for a Conroe address linked to Moreno.

Later, Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña verified that no explosives had been discovered during the search of the shooters personal items and vehicle.

“Right now, I can safely say that we have not found anything that is of concern to our community or to this location, but we’re going to take our time to ensure that we look at every aspect,” Peña stated in a press conference on Sunday.

“It’s traumatic not only for our community but it’s certainly traumatic for the officers who had to take a life and we worry about their mental health as well, so our prayers are with them,” he added.

According to the press, the shooter identified as transgender and was originally born with the name “Jeffrey Escalante” in El Salvador before eventually changing it to Genesee Ivonne Moreno. Sources have also claimed that Moreno had an extensive criminal background.

Except for the shooter, no other deaths are currently listed as a result of the incident. A local hospital provided treatment to a man who had been shot in the leg. As of Monday morning, the seven-year-old is currently in critical condition.

Additionally, no information has been released regarding the shooter’s possible motivation.

Pastor Joel Osteen, 60, who is an ambassador of the megachurch, made a statement to the press regarding the incident. He mentioned that the tragedy “could have been worse” if the shooting had occurred during the earlier Sunday morning service, in which many more people attended.

“We don’t understand why these things happen, but we know God’s in control,” Osteen said.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.

Highest Number Of Asylum Seekers Cross Border Illegally In One Day, 26,000 In Custody

Texas National Guard soldiers observe as thousands of immigrants walk towards a U.S. Border Patrol transit center on December 19, 2023 in Eagle Pass, Texas. On Monday this week, hundreds of asylum seekers illegally crossed into Eagle Pass, Texas, setting a record for the most interactions with immigrants seeking to relocate in a single day at the southern border of the United States.

This increase in recent weeks has left border guards both overworked and exasperated.

Fox News was informed by Customs and Border Protection sources that there were more than 12,600 interactions involving asylum seekers on Monday.

This excludes the hundreds of people who were left in the Del Rio Sector on Monday night waiting to be processed following a wave of asylum seekers entering Eagle Pass.

More than 1,600 illegal immigrants were detected at ports of entry, and additionally, more than 11,000 illegal immigrants were reported as being apprehended.

As of Tuesday morning, over 4,500 asylum seekers were being processed and transported by agents at the popular crossing site. Of these, over 5,300 were already in custody, and the facilities were 260% over capacity.

This indicates that agents are outnumbered 200-to-1 in the small border sector, which is handling more than 10,000 migrants in total.

Meanwhile, there were more than 3,000 interactions on Monday in the Tucson Sector in Arizona, where agents have also been overworked. National Guard assistance has been requested by Democrat Governor Katie Hobbs (D-Ariz.).

With 2.4 million people crossing the border in fiscal year 2023, the border experienced a record number of interactions.

Given that agents now consistently observe over 10,000 interactions every day, record or near-record figures were expected to be posted in November and December, even though migration historically slows down during those months.

Department of Homeland Security representatives testified before lawmakers this month, saying that approximately 670,000 illegal immigrants, or “gotaways,” eluded Border Patrol agents in fiscal year 2023 and that they are releasing 5,000 of them every day to non-governmental organizations.

Furthermore, each month, up to 30,000 asylum seekers from Haiti, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba are coming in through the Biden administration’s expanded “lawful pathways.” These figures are in addition to the more than 1,600 migrants who are paroled in at ports of entry every day.

The government has claimed that although it is pursuing a policy of “broadening” those paths and toughening “consequences” for illegal entrance, it is also addressing a crisis that affects the entire hemisphere and requires more funds and legislation from Congress for immigration reform.

As part of the over $100 billion in supplemental funding demands, it has asked Congress for an additional $14 billion in financing for the border. However, Republicans have insisted on tighter restrictions regarding humanitarian parole and stricter asylum requirements.

FPC, SAF, NJ2AS Challenge New Jersey Handgun Carry Ban
N.J. Attorney General Files Malicious Civil Complaints Against Firearm Industry Members

New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin has filed two civil complaints against members of the firearms industry. Platkin, who’s been a member of Governor Phil Murphy’s team in one capacity or another since its inception, is executing a law that was enacted maliciously to put the squeeze on firearm-related businesses.

New Jersey’s Statewide Affirmative Firearms Enforcement Office enforces the 2022 firearms public nuisance law and acts as a work-around for the federal Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. The 2022 law allows the Attorney General to go after firearm companies in civil suits for breaking New Jersey’s law, even if they’re outside of said jurisdiction.

The companies named in the complaints are FSS Armory from New Jersey Patriot Enterprises Worldwide LLC (does business as Eagle Shows), and Not An LLC (does business as JSD Supply) from Pennsylvania.

The Attorney General alleges that FSS Armory was reckless in how they allegedly stored their firearms. A theft that occurred, as stated in Platkin’s release, was essentially being blamed on FSS.

The company’s failures put New Jersey residents, as well as those in neighboring states, in danger by allowing the weapons to be trafficked and placed in the hands of criminals and others not legally permitted to own a firearm.

FSS Armory, a state-licensed gun dealer, stored stacks of guns within easy reach of a ground-floor window adjacent to its sales floor and glass-doored entrance. It did not secure either the window or the guns. FSS Armory showcased these unlawful and reckless practices, posting images of the unsecured weapons and window to the homepage of its website and to the store’s Google Maps business listing….

After searching for “gun stores in nj” on their cell phone, a group of individuals found FSS Armory, drove there, broke the glass window, reached through, and stole twenty guns. The burglars promptly trafficked the guns. Some have since been since recovered in criminal investigations. Others have been used in crimes or recovered at active crime scenes. Most remain unaccounted for.

In the complaint against Eagle Shows and JSD Supply, Platikin alleges that these companies “have targeted the sale of ghost gun products to New Jersey residents.” Platkin is suing the companies for conducting lawful business in a completely different state, Pennsylvania.

The Attorney General brings this action to stop and remedy Defendants’ unlawful sale to New Jersey residents of products designed to create unserialized, untraceable firearms— commonly known as “Ghost Guns.” defendants, who know full well that Ghost Guns are illegal in New Jersey, deliberately sell their products at gun shows just across the New Jersey— Pennsylvania border. They do so to make Ghost Guns readily accessible to New Jersey residents—even though such weapons have been illegal in New Jersey for years.

Neither complaint filed against these companies was authored by Attorney General Platkin. The signatory attorney is listed as Assistant Attorney General David Leit.

There was no mention of Platkin’s office referring to those who participated in the theft as “gun traffickers,” nor were there any known efforts to go after actual criminals who participated in criminal activity utilizing firearms that were self-made. In these bold steps, Platkin is not going after the real criminals who commit crimes but rather law-abiding companies.

The Director of SAFE, Ravi Ramanathan, said in a statement, “The unlawful and unreasonable actions of FSS Armory, JSD Supply, and Eagle Shows have caused significant harm to our communities, and they must be held accountable.” If the actions of the listed companies were “unlawful,” then where are the criminal complaints? “Unreasonable actions” amount to what in a court of law?

The State of New Jersey, under Governor Phil Murphy’s regime, has suffered irreparable damages from unlawful and unreasonable laws and policies. The execution of the firearms public nuisance law is just a way for the Garden State to ring up legal bills for law-abiding members of the firearms industry.

A woman has been arrested after trying to burn down the birth home of Martin Luther King Jr.

On Thursday, 26-year-old Laneisha Shantrice Henderson was arrested after two bypassers saw her pouring gasoline on the property in Atlanta, Georgia.

Henderson was charged with interfering with government property and second-degree arson.

Authorities stated that after being released from Grady Detention for a psychological assessment, she will be moved to Fulton County Jail.

The visitors informed the officers that they were from Utah on a work trip and that they wished to see the historical site, which is off-limits to the general public.

An incident report stated that they saw Henderson outside dousing bushes in liquid but at first took it indifferently.

Henderson did not respond when the visitors asked if she was taking care of the plants. After asking her a few more questions, they discovered that she was carrying a gasoline container.

“When they realized what was going on, they started to plead with Ms. Henderson to stop, but she was ignoring them,” the incident report stated. “It also seemed as if she started to rush and pour the gasoline out faster on and around the historical house.”

One witness told the press that he stood at the bottom of the stairs outside the home and told Henderson to stop “and blocked her for about a minute, kept blocking her from going up the stairs.”

Henderson was held down by bystanders until police arrived. According to the incident report, witnesses claimed she attempted to light the lighter she was holding while she was being held.

Police Chief Darin Schierbaum told the press that their quick action “saved the jewel of [their] city.”

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center released a statement on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, thanking the witnesses that stopped Henderson.

“Tonight, an unfortunate incident occurred at the birth home of Dr.Martin Luther King, Jr., as an individual attempted to set fire to the historic property. Fortunately, the attempt was unsuccessful, thanks to the brave good samaritans and the quick response of law enforcement,” the center said.

POLICE STATE New Jersey: Man says he won’t work for Jews, state officials denounce ‘Islamophobia’

There seems to be no end to this age’s appetite for absurdity and Islamopandering.

“Decrying man who won’t work for Jews, New Jersey AG cites Islamophobia,” JNS, December 1, 2023:

In a statement denouncing a New Jersey man, who said that he would not work for Jews, the state’s attorney general and the director of its civil-rights division appeared to suggest that antisemitism requires Islamophobia and “other forms of bigotry” as a chaperone.

Matthew Platkin, the state’s chief prosecutor, and Sundeep Iyer, director of New Jersey’s civil-rights division, announced on Nov. 30 that the division issued a violation notice to Melquisedec Francis.

Francis stated on TaskRabbit and other platforms where people sell their services that “he would not provide services to Jewish patrons in at least three online communications in violation of the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination,” the state officials wrote. In one, Francis wrote, “I am currently not offering my services to the Jewish community.”

“There is no justification for denying services to members of the public based on antisemitism, Islamophobia or any other kind of discrimination,” Platkin stated. “We are committed to holding anyone who engages in discriminatory practices accountable.”

“As antisemitic and anti-Muslim acts of hate and bias continue to rise across our state, make no mistake: We will take enforcement action swiftly to ensure that the civil rights of all of our residents, including our Jewish and Muslim residents, are protected,” Iyer stated.

Nowhere else in the official state press release was there mention of any relevance of Islamophobia to the case of the man denying services to Jews.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Francis is a contractor in Paterson, N.J. In a post on the site, he claimed not to support Hamas nor Israel, and that he didn’t deny services to Jews.

“I was taken off the platform for saying that in order to protest the war in Gaza, and until the war in Gaza comes to a conclusion, I won’t confirm job requests from the Jewish community,” he said. He added that his being unemployed and with no means of self-subsistence “will change nothing about the atrocities of the world.”…

Authorities have clashed with protestors demanding a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas-Gaza conflict outside the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee (DNC).

On Wednesday, law enforcement arrested hundreds of protesters demanding a cease-fire in the Hamas-Israel war outside the DNC Washington headquarters.

According to authorities, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-Mass.) and Representative Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.) were among those inside the headquarters as the clash between protesters and police sparked.

United States Capitol Police said on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, that a “large group of illegal protesters…have cleared out, but USCP officers will stay on scene out of an abundance of caution.”

They previously put the number of demonstrators at about 150 and said they were “violently protesting in the area.”

Six officers were treated for injuries as a result of the demonstration, and one person was arrested and accused of assault on an officer, Capitol Police said on X.

According to Capitol Police, all lawmakers were evacuated from the location for their protection.

IfNotNow, an organization that bills itself as “American Jews organizing our community to end U.S. support for Israel’s apartheid system,” stated it was present at the rally and accused officers of being harsh toward protestors.

IfNotNow spokesperson Eva Borgwardt released a statement saying the protest was “nonviolent” and a “moral act of civil disobedience to call on Democrats to support a cease-fire and an end to our government’s funding of violence against Palestinian civilians by Netanyahu’s far-right government.”

Representative Sean Casten (D-Ill.), posted on X that he was “rescued” from the DNC building by “armed officers” who “did not know the protestors’ intent; they knew only that Members of Congress were inside, could not leave and that protests would not let police through.”

Chaos at DNC HQ When Pro-Palestinian Rioters Attempt to Break In

659f2b46-bffb-43ac-acfd-4f5c7c5a120b-1052x615.jpg

Chaos erupted outside the Democratic National Committee headquarters Wednesday evening when pro-Palestinian protesters became violent as they called for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war.

U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) estimated that approximately 150 people were "illegally and violently protesting" near the DNC headquarters on Capitol Hill.

Six officers were injured during the melee, according to the USCP, with either minor cuts, pepper-spray burns, or being attacked by rioters.

CNN reports that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, House Minority Whip Katherine Clark, and Rep. Pete Aguilar were inside the building at the time of the riot, and had to be evacuated.

Around 150 officers and a minimum of 50 police cruisers from The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) were also on the scene. Videos of the chaos were shared on social media.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) reported that the situation was so bad that the Capitol went into lockdown.

The violent mob of pro-Palestinian rioters stands in contrast to the peaceful March for Israel that took place on the National Mall a day prior.

Ask yourself why.

Texas: Muslim murders SWAT cop and two hostages, was on FBI terror watchlist, had bomb-making materials

He was on the terror watch list, but the feds clearly weren’t watching. They were too busy hunting for Jan. 6 “insurrectionists” and “white supremacists.”

“Victims, suspect identified in South Austin shooting that left 4 dead,” CBS Austin, November 15, 2023 (thanks to AB):

Police have released the names of the victims and suspect from Saturday’s shooting in a South Austin neighborhood that left four dead, including the suspect and a police officer….

The incident began at 2:49 a.m. with a 911 call from a stabbing victim at the home. Responding officers arrived about 10 minutes later, learning of two additional injured individuals inside the residence with the suspect, later identified as 35-year-old Ahmed Mohamed Nassar.

A third victim of Nassar escaped and was located by officers, who reported that the suspect still possessed a knife. APD officers attempted a rescue at around 3 a.m. but were fired upon by Nassar, leading to a SWAT callout.

The SWAT team’s entry at approximately 4:11 a.m. to rescue the hostages resulted in an exchange of gunfire with Nassar. Two officers were shot during the operation. Despite medical efforts, Officer Jorge “George” Pastore, 38, died from his injuries. The second officer was treated and later released from the hospital.

Inside the residence, two additional victims, Eyman Elnemrnassar, 63, and Riad Nassar, 32, were found deceased. Nassar also succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

A search warrant court document obtained by CBS Austin said APD officers were met with gunfire from a suspect wearing a brown armor plate vest and armed with a rifle. “Cutting instruments, body armor and any tactical gear to include firearms were all said to be worn or used by the suspect” during the incident, the affidavit said….

“Gunman suspected of killing Texas SWAT cop and 2 hostages were reportedly on FBI terror watchlist,” by Melissa Koenig, New York Post, November 15, 2023 (thanks to Ken):

The gunman who killed Texas SWAT Officer Jorge Pastore in a shootout that also left two hostages dead was wearing body armor and night vision goggles — and was on the FBI’s terror watchlist, according to reports.

A search warrant for the suspect’s south Austin home — the scene of Saturday’s deadly shootout — unearthed bomb-making materials inside, calling for help from the FBI’s Evidence Recovery Team, according to KXAN.

“Cutting instruments, body armor and any tactical gear to include firearms were all said to be worn or used by the suspect,” reads the warrant, which noted that it’s “not uncommon for people with a gun, body armor or night vision to make homemade explosives.”

Neither the suspect nor the dead hostages had been officially identified as of early Wednesday.

However, a local organization called the Round Rock Area Muslims said they were all family members of a “beloved brother” who was well-known in the local community.

They were mom Eman Ahmed El Nemr-Nassar and two of her sons, Ahmed Mohammed Nassar, 35, and Riad Mohamed Nassar, 32, according to a group member’s since-deleted post shared by the Daily Mail.

It was not known which of the two brothers was the shooter — but the FBI had investigated members of the family and had the suspect on the terror watchlist, law enforcement sources told the Mail….

You thought it wouldn’t come here? More and worse is coming.

“Anti-Israel protesters swarm Grand Central, splatter fake blood on New York Times building and set Israel flag ablaze,” by Steven Vago and Patrick Reilly, New York Post, November 10, 2023:

Hundreds of anti-Israel protesters calling for the elimination of the Jewish state stormed Grand Central Terminal Friday night, furiously banging and kicking at a locked entrance of the station that was forced to temporarily close over the rowdy demonstration.

The mob was part of a “Flood Manhattan for Gaza” protest that initially converged on Columbus Circle earlier in the evening, where they set fire to an Israeli flag and taunted a small faction of counter-demonstrators before marching through Manhattan and splattering fake blood on the New York Times building.

“We don’t want a Jewish state. We want ‘48!” the anti-Israel protesters chanted at the starting point, referring to Palestine before the establishment of Israel.

“Settlers, settlers go back home! Palestine is ours alone!” the crowd yelled.

“It is right to rebel. Israel, go to Hell!” others chanted.

Across the street stood a small group of Israel supporters. Bergen County resident Gregory Jachts, 56, said he found it “offensive that they’re here chanting for the elimination of Israel.”

“They were chanting from the river to the sea and that calls for the elimination of Israel and the genocide of the Jews,” said Jachts, who is not Jewish but has family in Israel….

More than 7,000 pro-Hamas protesters marched across the Brooklyn Bridge, shutting it down briefly, chanting anti-Semitic slogans. and calling for the elimination of the Jewish State “by any means.”  The “Flood Brooklyn for Gaza” protest was held on Shabbat — something Jewish leaders pointed out was almost certainly a deliberate snub.

“It’s not an accident that pro-Hamas activists would pick this place to protest Jews,” said former City Councilman David Greenfield, a Brooklyn Democrat.

The significance of the protest site was not lost on New York’s Hasidic Jewish community. The marchers wound their way through Crown Heights, home to thousands of Hasidic Jews. Orthodox Rabbi Motti Seligson, 41, of Crown Heights noted that the march was scheduled at the same time as an annual gathering where more than 1,000 Hasidic college students from around the world come to Crown Heights.

“We’re seeing forces of evil that are promoting murder genocide of Israelis and civilians in Gaza because of the support for the terrorist elements that are in their midst,” he said.

The pro-Hamas rally proved to be fun for all ages.

New York Post:

Earlier, Marie Edward, 67, of Sunset Park, held a sign reading “Zionism is terrorism” while watching others march along Eastern Parkway.

She accused Israelis of being the real “killers” and defended Hamas’ heinous Oct. 7 massacre.

“It’s not a question of ‘justified.’ If you are occupied, you fight back and do what they did…they will fight back,” she said.

One of the protesters was just 15 years old and bore a sign reading, “F–k Israel all my homies hate Israel” — a mockery of the Middle Eastern country made in the format of an internet meme.

“They do it too, only worse” is hardly a compelling argument.

Some ralliers were blatantly heard screaming, “Long Live Hamas as they paraded past the corner of 4th Avenue and East 13th Street.

The massive protest culminated at Union Square, with hundreds flooding lower Manhattan Park..

A makeshift basketball hoop was erected on the pavement out of Banksy’s iconic poster of a young girl releasing a heart balloon and multiple alternate side parking signs.

The amateur display read: “F–K ISRAEL. That’s what New Yorkers are saying”

If you peruse other news headlines on the rally, you’ll see that most news outlets identify the protest as a march for a “ceasefire in Gaza.” Looking at the signage and listening to the marchers screaming for Jewish blood, that’s a deliberate falsification. The march was for the elimination of the Jewish state and the people who lived in it.

At least 200 people have been arrested during a protest in the Grand Central Station in New York City demanding a cease-fire in the Israel-Palestine War.

Hundreds of activists, wearing black T-shirts with the slogans “Jews say cease-fire now” and “Not in our name,” were detained by New York Police Department (NYPD) officers and brought out of the train station, their hands zip-tied behind their backs during rush hour on Friday.

The NYPD stated that the demonstrators were momentarily detained, issued summonses, and then released and that a more precise number of detentions would be available on Saturday.

Some protesters carried flags as they ascended the stone ledges in front of departure time leaderboards.

After police broke up the sit-in, the remaining demonstrators streamed into the streets outside.

One of the groups involved appears to be a group called “Jewish Voices For Peace,” which posted on X, the social media formerly known as Twitter announcing that they are “taking over.”

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) said in a statement that it is sad that the organization chose rush hour to organize a protest when New Yorkers were trying to get home, but it is proud of both MTA officers and NYPD officers for their professionalism.

Following the purported seizure of over 100 pounds of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and other illegal narcotics from a pizzeria located in the Bronx borough of New York City, police officials accused three men of operating a drug ring out of the establishment.

The plethora of hard drugs was estimated to be worth $4 million, police said.

Authorities shared a statement on Monday, saying that the eatery, Mexzzarella Pizzeria, which is located across the street from a public elementary school, was being used as a front by accused drug traffickers Gaudencio Rosendo Perez, Zulema Cardenas Espinoza, and Alexander Samboy.

“This drug trafficking organization was cooking up more than pizza in the Bronx,” said Frank Tarentino, the special agent in charge of the DEA’s New York division.

Upon searching the pizza spot on October 19th, local, state, and federal law enforcement officials claimed to have discovered 42 kilograms of suspected cocaine, a kilogram of heroin and fentanyl, 1,000 glassine envelopes containing more fentanyl, and some Oxycodone, more large rocks of cocaine, and approximately 100 vials containing crack cocaine.

On the day of the major raid, authorities had been monitoring the trio and had observed them entering and exiting the Soundview Avenue pizzeria with backpacks and bags, according to officials.

After Samboy drove off in a silver Subaru Impreza with Connecticut registration plates, police stopped him on Metcalf Avenue. Five kilograms of cocaine branded “R2” and wrapped in black tape were then discovered by investigators during the traffic check, according to the statement.

At the restaurant, Perez and Espinoza were taken into custody by agents and task force officers. Additionally, authorities reportedly discovered a kilo press and almost $40,000 in the basement.

Authorities also stated that the men had kept the crack vials close to the pizza counter for “convenient sales.”

“The large stash of cocaine found in the basement of Mexzzarella Pizza is very significant because it had the potential to supply drug networks throughout the Northeast,” Tarentino said. “Cocaine is being laced with fentanyl, which is contributing to poisonings and unnecessary deaths in New York and across the country.”

According to the statement, Perez, Espinoza, and Samboy are now accused of acting as major drug traffickers and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

On Friday, they were arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court. The judge imposed $150,000 bail for two of the men, while Perez was remanded.

“This highly profitable Bronx-based narcotics operation appeared to operate as a wholesaler and distributor of cocaine and fentanyl-laced products and was advertised as an ‘inexpensive Mexican pizza spot,’” said NYC Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan. “Our office will continue to work with our federal, state, and local enforcement partners to stem the distribution of lethal drugs that claimed the lives of a record-high number of people in our city last year.”

The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have arrested two Lebanese nationals at the southern border in Eagle Pass, Texas.

On Thursday, two men who are reportedly in their early to mid-20s were arrested after authorities reportedly considered them “special interest aliens.”

“Special interest aliens” are people from nations classified by the United States government as having conditions that promote or protect terrorism or may constitute a national security concern to the United States.

The apprehensions come amid concerns about security and the possibility of terrorism have risen in the aftermath of Hamas terror strikes against Israel.

Lebanon borders Israel and is home to the militant group Hezbollah, which, like Hamas, is listed as a terrorist organization by the State Department and is reportedly supported by Iran.

Local and federal police enforcement in Washington, D.C., told the press that they are increasing their presence in the nation’s capital as Hamas’ call for a “Day of Rage” on Friday has heightened tensions in American cities.

The efforts come as significant protests are already building in the Middle East, with enormous crowds showing solidarity for Palestinians in Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq.

Last month’s threat assessment from the Department of Homeland Security noted that agents have encountered an increase in the number of people on the watch list and warned that “terrorists and criminal actors may exploit the elevated flow and increasingly complex security environment to enter the United States.”

“Individuals with terrorism connections are interested in using established travel routes and permissive environments to facilitate access to the United States,” the assessment also said.

The arrested suspects are currently undergoing extensive background vetting, by local authorities and the FBI.
