VICTOR DAVIS HANSON: No Congress, No Coherence—The Left’s Post-Trump Identity Crisis

Democrats are experiencing an “intellectual poverty.” They have no power in the White House, in Congress, or the Supreme Court, so they’ve resorted to theatrics, street protests, viral stunts, and inflammatory rhetoric. Why aren't Democrats offering serious alternatives to Donald Trump's agenda? From trade deficits to foreign policy, Victor Davis Hanson points out that many on the Left once held views that mirrored Trump’s—yet now, they offer little more than resistance for resistance’s sake on today’s episode of “ Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words.” “ I see these people in their late 60s and early 70s, mostly white people, and they seem to have the same signs, the same agenda, and they leave at the same time. … And you were doing that when you were 18, 19, and 20, and you haven’t changed. You’ve learned nothing and forgotten nothing. “ And so, when they wonder why the Harvard/Harris Poll or other polls don’t show Trump dropping … they look for alternatives. They see nothing but street theater. Maybe they think that’s going to win them the midterms.”

Victor Davis Hanson: Critics Slam Trump’s Economic Plan—but Offer No Alternative

The Left has no plan for the economy—but they complain like they do. In this edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words,” Hanson highlights the silence of the Left when it comes to proposing good economic policy. “We haven’t had balanced trade in 50 years. No one is giving any alternatives. No one is saying in any way that they have an antithetical or better plan than Donald Trump. “The success or failure of Donald Trump will hinge on the status of the economy." NO MORE WAR: President Trump hints to end Ukraine War, slams DOGE haters | FULL REMARKS

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt slammed Democrats' hypocritical position ahead of DOGE's Social Security audit. Leavitt defended President Donald Trump and Elon Musk's objectives on "Hannity" Monday, pointing out that former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton championed rooting out waste, fraud and abuse of taxpayer dollars. A federal judge on Tuesday declined to block Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency from accessing government data and firing federal employees. U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan declined to grant the plaintiffs' request to issue a temporary restraining order, citing what she said was their failure to demonstrate evidence of "irreparable harm" caused by DOGE's access. "Plaintiffs legitimately call into question what appears to be the unchecked authority of an unelected individual and an entity that was not created by Congress and over which it has no oversight," Chutkan, an Obama appointee, said Tuesday. "In these circumstances, it must be indisputable that this court acts within the bounds of its authority. Accordingly, the Court cannot issue a TRO, especially one as wide-ranging as Plaintiffs request, without clear evidence of imminent, irreparable harm to these Plaintiffs. The current record does not meet that standard." Russia and the U.S. agreed Tuesday to start working toward ending the war in Ukraine and improving their diplomatic and economic ties, the two countries’ top diplomats said after talks that reflected an extraordinary about-face in U.S. foreign policy under President Donald Trump. In an interview with The Associated Press after the meeting, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the two sides agreed broadly to pursue three goals: to restore staffing at their respective embassies in Washington and Moscow, to create a high-level team to support Ukraine peace talks and to explore closer relations and economic cooperation. He stressed, however, that the talks — which were attended by his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, and other senior Russian and U.S. officials — marked the beginning of a conversation, and more work needs to be done.

Louisiana Dept. Of Health: We ‘Will No Longer Promote Mass Vaccination’ Following RFK Jr. Confirmation

Kennedy Jr. after Kennedy was sworn in as Secretary of Health and Human Services in the Oval Office at the White House on February 13, 2025 in Washington, DC. Following Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s confirmation as the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) confirmed that it “will no longer promote mass vaccination.”

The announcement by the LDH was sent out as an internal memo — ordering staff to end all media campaigns and promotions to encourage vaccinations.

“The State of Louisiana and LDH have historically promoted vaccines for vaccine preventable illnesses through our parish health units, community health fairs, partnerships and media campaigns,” wrote Louisiana’s Surgeon General, Ralph Abraham.

“While we encourage each patient to discuss the risks and benefits of vaccination with their provider, LDH will no longer promote mass vaccination,” the memo continued.

The LDH also released a public statement, vowing to restore the public’s trust in the healthcare system following the previous COVID-19 mandates and lockdowns.

“For much of the last century, public health has taken it upon itself to fill in the gaps in our broken healthcare system – providing guidance, information, and health recommendations. But when we get it wrong and overreach, the harm is often irreparable. Trust is built over years and lost in seconds, and we’re still rebuilding from the [Trump] missteps,” the announcement read.

“A study in Health Affairs found that after the pandemic, only 37% of the public trusted information from the CDC a ‘great deal’ and only 25% trusted state and local health departments. Doctors fare better, but the trend is consistently alarming. A recent survey by JAMA showed that confidence in doctors decreased from 71% in 2020 to 40% in 2024. The antidote to this freefall in public trust is simply to start telling the truth. Until confidence is restored, the majority aren’t going to take advice from public health, no matter how well-founded it may be.”

“As a nation, we must recognize that there is no miracle pill for the major population health problems we face. The solution to increased spending and declining outcomes in our country is unlikely to come in the form of a pill or a shot. Much of the solution will likely come down to the usual hard work of improving diet, increasing exercise, and making better lifestyle choices.”

The LDH was likely empowered by Kennedy’s confirmation — as he has long been a skeptic of Big Pharma’s push for mass vaccinations and experimental mRNA vaccinations, previously stating that it “is criminal malpractice to give a child one of” the COVID-19 vaccines.

Throughout his hearing, Kennedy continually stated that he is not anti-vaccine per se, but rather, that vaccines need to be held to much higher standards of research and long term testing prior to their mass administration.

Kennedy has officially initiated the “Make America Healthy Again” movement, as secretary of the HHS, focusing on ending the chronic health crisis in America. The health initiative also ultimately united his former presidential campaign in congruence with President Donald Trump’s campaign.

“Bobby created a nationwide movement made up of millions and millions of mothers and fathers and young people and concerned citizens of every background to end this horrible chronic disease crisis that exists in America,” Trump stated following Kennedy’s swearing-in ceremony.

“He’s absolutely committed to getting dangerous chemicals out of our environment and out of our food supply, and getting the American people the facts and the answers that we deserve after years in which our public health system has squandered the trust of our citizens,” Trump continued.

Following his swearing-in, Kennedy stated that: “For 20 years, I got down on my knees and prayed that God would put me in a position where I can end childhood chronic disease epidemic in this country.”

“On August 23 of last year, God sent me President Trump,” Kennedy added.

Fauci, Crime and No Punishment

A post-pardon strategy for white-coat supremacist Dr. Doom.

On his way out of the White House on January 20, Joe Biden issued a statement praising Dr. Anthony Fauci, who “saved countless lives by managing the government’s response to pressing health crises, including HIV/AIDS, as well as the Ebola and Zika viruses. During his tenure as my Chief Medical Advisor, he helped the country tackle a once-in-a-century pandemic. The United States is safer and healthier because of him.” The reader might think Dr. Fauci was getting an award, but that was not the case.

The Delaware Democrat exercised his authority “to pardon” Dr. Fauci, but the issuance of the pardon “should not be mistaken as an acknowledgment that any individual engaged in any wrongdoing, nor should acceptance be misconstrued as an admission of guilt of any offense.”

Pardons are normally issued for crimes, and Dr. Fauci provided evidence in his handling of the Covid pandemic, a joint operation.

Dr. Fauci funded Communist China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) to perform dangerous gain-of-function research – once banned in the U.S. – that makes viruses more lethal and transmissible. Dr. Fauci lied to Congress about funding the WIV and Sen. Rand Paul, author of Deception: The Great Covid Cover-up, made two criminal referrals to the Biden Department of Justice, which took no action. Biden’s pardon might refer to that crime, but Dr. Fauci’s 50-year-plus career in government offers other possibilities.

Dr. Fauci’s bio showed no advanced degrees in molecular biology or biochemistry, but in 1984 the NIH made him head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).  Nobel laureate Kary Mullis, inventor of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique, was on record saying that Dr. Fauci “doesn’t understand electron microscopy and he doesn’t understand medicine. He should not be in a position like he’s in.” That reality would quickly become evident.

Dr. Fauci’s drug of choice to treat AIDS was AZT (azidothymidine, Zidovudine), a DNA chain terminator rejected for cancer treatment because of excessive toxicity. Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) provided funding for the Incarnation Children’s Center (ICC) in New York as an outpatient clinic for HIV-positive children.  The city’s Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) offered up children under its care, nearly all black for Hispanic, for secretive drug experimentation.  The BBC told the story in the 2004 documentary Guinea Pig Kids.

As biochemist Dr. David Rasnick explained, “cocktails” of powerful drugs were forced on the children. Rasnick described Didanosine as “very dangerous” and Nevirapine as “dangerous and debilitating. . . horrible and painful and also lethal.”  The children were also given AZT, which failed to prevent or cure AIDS.

In her 1995 The Search for an AIDS Vaccine, NIH nurse Christine Grady calls AZT “a boon to research” and approves of drug trials on children and pregnant women. On the other hand Grady does not reveal that she was married to Dr. Fauci for 10 years. In 2012, when the NIH made Grady chief of the Department of Bioethics of the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center, they failed to mention her book and marriage to Dr. Fauci, a conflict of interest for the ages. If Tony ever did anything with which Christine disagreed, it’s hard to know what it might be.

In The Real Anthony Fauci, Robert F. Kennedy showed how Fauci’s NIAID also conducts drug trials in Africa, where subjects may be unaware of adverse consequences and less likely to draw attention from American journalists. Africans may also be unaware that NIAID officials get royalties from the drugs approved in their trials.

During the Covid pandemic, Dr. Fauci recommended untested vaccines even for children, the least vulnerable group. As Rebecca Culshaw showed in The Real AIDS Epidemic, the rush to approve allegedly “lifesaving” mRNA vaccines “was essentially a massive clinical trial conducted in real time on the entire population.”

Pfizer wanted 75 years before revealing the contents of their highly profitable Covid vaccines. A judge forced the company to release the information, now compiled by Naomi Wolf in The Pfizer Papers. As Bruce Bawer notes, this could be the “Crime of the Century.”

With his pardon of Fauci, Biden intends to remove all possibility of punishment, quite possibly the worst travesty of justice in American history.  Congress should challenge Biden’s pardon all the way to the Supreme Court. While that plays out, the Trump administration should launch strikes against Fauci’s allies and network, still firmly in place.

Dr. Fauci allegedly retired in 2022 but continued to receive a government security detail, which President Trump recently canceled. Trump’s pick to head the NIH is Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, a co-author of the Great Barrington Declaration targeted by Fauci during the pandemic. If confirmed, Dr. Bhattacharya should fire Christine Grady and current NIAID boss Jeanne Marrazzo, a faithful Fauci disciple and DEI promoter.

Cut back on NIAID and limit the director to a single four-year term, with all grants posted on the internet in real time. Ending white coat supremacy will be a huge victory for the people in 2025 and beyond.

D.C plane crash update: 28 bodies recovered, officials say they expect no survivors

First responders have recovered the bodies of 27 passengers from the American Airlines jet and one from the helicopter. The body of the plane was found upside down in three sections in waist-deep water. The wreckage of the helicopter was also found. Officials said they were still searching for other casualties but did not believe there were any other survivors, which would make it the deadliest U.S. air crash in nearly 24 years.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has called out Vice President Kamala Harris saying she has “no role” in the hurricane response.

On Monday, DeSantis (R-Fla.) accused Harris of having “no role” in helping the state recover from Hurricane Helene or prepare for Hurricane Milton.

“For Kamala Harris to try to say my sole focus on the people of Florida is somehow selfish is delusional,” DeSantis said. “She has no role in this, in fact, she’s been vice president for three and a half years, I’ve dealt with a number of storms under this administration, she’s never contributed anything to any of these efforts.”

According to NBC News, DeSantis was not taking calls from the Democratic presidential nominee regarding storm recovery efforts, citing unnamed aides to the governor who said the calls seemed political in nature.

However, when DeSantis was asked by Fox News' Sean Hannity if she has ever called before while preparing for hurricanes, he answered “no.”

“She has no role in this process. I’m in contact with the President of the United States. "I'm in contact with the FEMA director, I’m obviously managing all of our state agencies, we’re supporting all our local governments,” he added.

Harris responded to the Florida governor’s accusations, stating he was “playing politics.”

“People are in desperate need of support right now and playing political games at this moment in these crisis situations … is just utterly irresponsible, and it is selfish,” Harris said to reporters on Monday. “It is about political gamesmanship, instead of doing the job that you took an oath to do, which is to put the people first.”

DeSantis claimed good relations with both the Trump and Biden administrations regarding hurricane preparation and response before Harris.

“She’s the first one who’s trying to politicize the storm, and she’s doing that just because of her campaign,” DeSantis said. “I don’t have time for political games. I’ve got people whose lives are on the line, I’ve got people whose homes and possessions are on the line, and we are focused 100% on that mission.”
