Unfortunately, CBS and CNN did not perform due diligence when they recently allowed on to their news programs a woman from Gaza, Dunia Abu Rahma, whose bloodcurdling hatred of Israel and of Jews has now been revealed by those at HonestReporting who investigated her social media posts. More on her television appearances, and her views, can be found here: “CNN & NBC Give Airtime to Woman Who Celebrated Hamas Massacre & Wished Hitler Had Finished the Job,” by Chaim Lax, HonestReporting, October 19, 2023:

…Dunia Abu Rahma, a 22-year-old architecture student from Gaza, has appeared in recent days on both CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 and NBC News to tell her story.

Abu Rahma told the veteran CNN reporter Anderson Cooper, “All I want them to know is that there are civilians, people who wish to live a normal, peaceful life, to feel safe, because we are human, and all we want is to have our rights and live peacefully. As a woman and as a girl, all I want in this life [is] to educate and to graduate and have a job and have a family.”…

Sounds nice, doesn’t it? All she wants the public to know is that she, and all the Palestinians, only want to “live a normal peaceful life.” All they want is their “rights and to live peacefully.” But she’s lying. That’s not what she wants. She wants, her many social media posts reveal, for the Jewish state to disappear, and for the Jews — not only Israelis — to be killed.

Throughout Hamas’ October 7 slaughter, Dunia Abu Rahma both tweeted and reposted several tweets supporting the massacres.

Soon after the Hamas assault began in the early morning, Abu Rahma tweeted “Good morning. I wanted them to loot and liberate the country in my graduation year.”

A couple of hours later, she posted two tweets in succession. One read: “He really freed the prisoners!” This is presumably a reference to the hordes of Hamas terrorists and local Gazans who were rampaging through Israeli communities at the time.

The second post was a quote tweet of a video of a brutal lynching of an Israeli soldier on the streets of Gaza with the caption: “On my own, I go down and beat him with them.”

Yes, she missed the fun of joining a bunch of Hamas goons in tormenting and torturing — and almost certainly killing — a lone Israeli soldier. Too bad she couldn’t have been there. She can dream, can’t she?

Later, she tweeted happily about the border with Israel being overrun, saying in one tweet that she was planning on transferring from her university in Gaza to Bir Zeit (a university in the West Bank) and tweeting later that “In this case, we will pray at Al-Aqsa [in Jerusalem] next Friday.”

On October 7, Dunia Abu Rahma also reposted several tweets by other accounts celebrating the carnage.

One read: “It looks like a blessed Saturday, people of Palestine, good morning” while another mentioned that “One’s heart flutters with joy with every missile that comes out.”

And her heart, too, fluttered with joy, as rocket after rocket was launched from Gaza into the cities of southern Israel. How many Jewish deaths, how much Jewish destruction!

She also reposted an image allegedly of Hamas taking IDF captives captioned “Blessed October” as well as an image of a bloodied Israeli female teenager being manhandled by terrorists with a caption justifying the vicious treatment of Israeli women by Hamas….

Yes, how exciting, how exhilarating, seeing IDF soldiers taken captive, and even more wonderful to see brave fighters of Hamas tormenting them, or better still, having their way with Israeli girls, raping them to their hearts’ content. How good to see the yahudim brought low, tormented, tortured, and killed!

In one tweet, Abu Rahma posts “May God forgive you, Hitler. I wish you had finished with this group of people who went astray.”…

No ambiguity there. It’s language from the Qur’an: The Jews are “those who went astray.” And here is Dunia Abu Rahma, wishing that Hitler had not just murdered six million of them, but finished with all of them. What does Anderson Cooper think, now that he realizes he had on as a guest someone who praises Hitler for murdering Jews, and only wishes he had stayed in power long enough to finish the job?

In December 2021, she shared a video of a soccer game between Algeria and Tunisia and captioned it “The house of the Jews will be destroyed.”

In other words, so obsessive was Abu Rahma’s genocidal hatred of Jews that even a soccer match between two Arab teams, having nothing to do with Israel or Jews, could manage to set her off: “The house of the Jews will be destroyed.”

Along with her antisemitic posts, Dunia Abu Rahma has also called for the destruction of Israel.

Following a tweet that said, “We want a truce,” Abu Rahma commented “We want to get rid of it,” referring to Israel….

Abu Rahma makes clear she wants Israel to disappear. There is no other interpretation of her rejecting the possibility of a truce, and instead insisting that “we [the Palestinians] want to get rid of it.” Rid of Israel, that is.

She wants Israel in the future to disappear, so that “from the river to the sea” there will again be only the Arab state of Palestine. But there never was an Arab state of Palestine. Abu Rahma does not realize that Jews lived in this same area for at least 3000 years — that is, 1600 years before there was a single Muslim Arab in the Land of Israel or, indeed, anywhere.

What happened here was a failure of due diligence. Though both NBC News and CNN have enormous staffs, apparently no one thought it necessary to look into Dunia Abu Rahma’s own views before providing her with sympathetic airtime. Had they done so, they would have discovered she shares the views of Hamas, that is, an annihilationist attitude toward Israel. And they might then have chosen some other Gazans, less fanatical in their hatred of Israel, and of Jews, to interview. Perhaps they’ve learned a lesson at CNN and NBC News, now that Abu Rahma’s mental makeup has been exposed. They need to thoroughly check the social media posts of possible guests from Gaza. Will they do it? Knowing the American media, I doubt it.

Everything You Need to Know About the Israeli ‘Occupation’ Or rather, everything the Left won’t tell you.

There would be peace in the Middle East if Israel just ended its occupation, right?

That’s what the Squad wants you to think, anyway. The statements of the three primary members of this winsome leftist House coalition on the Hamas massacres in Israel had the distinct odor of canned talking points. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Make Mine A Double) issued a statement that said, “I condemn Hamas’ attack in the strongest possible terms.” That was a good start, but she then turned on a dime to blame it all on Israel: “No child and family should ever endure this kind of violence and fear, and this violence will not solve the ongoing oppression and occupation in the region.” Ongoing oppression and occupation, see? If Israel would just ease up on the poor Palestinians, Hamas jihadis would all open restaurants and shops, and peace would dawn upon the region.

Not to be outdone, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Mogadishu) tweeted, “We know occupation and systematic apartheid is a violation of international law and it must end.” The Larry of this illustrious triumvirate (in case you’re wondering, Ilhan is Moe, the mean one, and AOC is Curly, the funny one), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Ramallah), chimed in with this: “I grieve the Palestinian and Israeli lives lost yesterday, today, and every day. I am determined as ever to fight for a just future where everyone can live in peace, without fear, and with true freedom, equal rights, and human dignity. The path to that future must include lifting the blockade, ending the occupation, and dismantling the apartheid system that creates the suffocating, dehumanizing conditions that can lead to resistance.”

So all three are in agreement: Israel’s occupation is the problem. It’s a shame that we don’t have any real journalists today, because someone should ask the same question to all three of them: “If Israel is occupying Palestinian land, can you please explain the basis in international law for Palestinian ownership of this land?” They all likely assume that there was a previous Palestinian state that the Israelis occupied and destroyed, but in reality, there has never been a Palestinian state of any kind, ever, at any point in history. There has been a region known as “Palestine” since 134AD when the Romans applied that name to the land that had previously been known as Judea, that is, the land of the Jews. But “Palestine” was akin to “Staten Island” — it was only the name of a region, never of a people or a nation.

By the beginning of the twentieth century, the Ottoman Empire had sovereignty over the territory that is now Israel and the supposedly occupied land as well. The Ottoman Empire was, however, known by this time as “The Sick Man of Europe.” In the early 1920s, just before the empire fell altogether, it conceded control of Palestine and the land that came to be known as Transjordan and now as Jordan to the League of Nations. On July 24, 1922, the League granted administrative control over these territories to Britain with specific instructions to create a “national home for the Jewish people.”

Britain immediately turned over 77% of the Mandate to the Arabs to create Jordan but remained generally committed to establishing a Jewish national home in the remainder. This was known as the Mandate for Palestine. Sometimes Leftists point to it as the Palestinian state that supposedly predated Israel, but this claim relies on the ignorance of the fact that this British territory had been explicitly set aside for Jewish settlement; nine years before the founding of the modern state of Israel, a 1939 flag of “Palestine” sports a star of David.

When the State of Israel was founded in 1948, it immediately had to fight a war for its survival against the surrounding Arab nations that had vowed to destroy it. Then there was finally an occupation — in fact, two: Egypt occupied Gaza and Jordan occupied Judea and Samaria (which it renamed the West Bank). Israel won back those territories in the Six-Day War of 1967, but that was actually ending an occupation, not starting one: the only international law governing sovereignty over those territories stipulated that they were to be part of a national home for the Jewish people.

So from whom was the land stolen? Not from the Ottomans, who had ceded it to the League of Nations. Not from the league, which had granted administrative powers over it to the British. Not from the British, who only had it in order to help create a Jewish state there. And not from the Palestinians, who didn’t even exist until the 1960s, when the KGB and Yasir Arafat bestowed Palestinian nationality upon a group of Levantine Arabs as a rhetorical weapon to use against Israel.

And it has worked beautifully. The idea that Israel is occupying Palestinian land was furthered in the 1990s by the Oslo Accords, to which Israel unwisely acceded, and in which it agreed to work toward the establishment of a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza, which would only become a new base for more jihad attacks against a diminished Jewish state. But a Palestinian state, if it is ever created, would be the first-ever such entity in the history of the world. There is actually no Israeli occupation at all. The Squad, and the left in general, is either ignorant or malicious. Or, of course, both.

James O’Keefe Exposes Hawaii Gov’s Ban on Public Photography in Lahaina

James O'Keefe goes undercover in Lahaina, Hawaii, to reveal a shocking directive from Governor Josh Green: a prohibition on photography on public land. Local law enforcement is enforcing this outrageous order, but even members of the Hawaii National Guard have criticized these actions. But O'Keefe Media Group (OMG) isn't just reporting; we're taking action. We are suing Governor Josh Green for this blatant infringement on our 1st Amendment rights. This isn't merely about the freedom to take photos; it's about the freedom of the press and the right to hold our leaders accountable.

America’s Largest Evangelical Magazine Continues to Drift to the Left

America's Largest Evangelical Magazine Continues to Drift to the Left

I subscribed to Christianity Today for several years. For over half a century, the magazine and its accompanying website were the best source of news about what’s going on in mainstream Christianity,  not just in America but also throughout the world. Billy Graham founded the magazine in 1956 as an evangelical answer to the mainline magazine The Christian Counterpoint.

Vital reporting, fascinating features, and thoughtful book and music reviews characterized what Christianity Today was about. One of the most important things about the magazine was that it mostly remained apolitical yet theologically mainstream.

Rarely did the magazine get explicitly political — except when it came to presidential scandals. In 1974, the magazine stopped short of calling on Richard Nixon to step down. A 1998 editorial criticizing Bill Clinton after his impeachment called him “morally unable to lead,” while in 2019, editor-in-chief Mark Galli, who later dealt with a harassment scandal at the magazine — he said he may have “crossed lines” — wrote that Congress should remove Donald Trump from office after his impeachment.

But over the years, I started to notice a leftward drift at Christianity Today. From articles about “creation care” that weren’t much different from the rhetoric of the believers in another environmental phrase that contains two words that start with the letter C to heavily featuring and advocating for women in pastoral roles (ignoring millions of complementarian Christians across the world), Christianity Today started to sound more politically and theologically liberal.

Galli’s dumping on Trump was enough for me to cancel my subscription, but a podcast by the magazine about another scandal was more problematic. “The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill” told the story of Seattle’s Mars Hill Church and the troubling leadership of its pastor, Mark Driscoll. The story was fascinating and heartrending, and the production values made it even more compelling. The problem with the podcast came in the analysis, which relied on anti-male feminism and got in multiple digs at Trump and conservatives in general.

Two articles from over the summer make me question what direction Christianity Today is heading. One piece from August takes on Oliver Anthony’s hit song “Rich Men North of Richmond,” which has struck a chord with people across the nation. Author Hannah Anderson admitted that she had high hopes the first time she heard the tune.

“I was excited for a song in the tradition of Johnny Cash, Pete Seeger, and Woody Guthrie—music that names the inherent dignity of the poor, lodges a protest against establishment excess, and echoes Old Testament calls for justice, like God’s condemnation in Jeremiah 5:28 of those who ‘have grown fat and sleek’ yet ‘do not promote the case of the fatherless’ or ‘defend the just cause of the poor,’” Anderson writes.

As both a Christian and a fan of good music, I totally understand hoping for a Johnny Cash-type song — and I would welcome that. But Pete Seeger or Woody Guthrie? Sorry, but no one outside of the far left would welcome a song like that these days.

What’s Anderson’s problem with the song? She says it “doesn’t love its neighbors” because Anthony takes on those who abuse welfare. The author cites these lyrics:

Lord, we got folks in the street, ain’t got nothin’ to eat

And the obese milkin’ welfare

Well, God, if you’re 5-foot-3 and you’re 300 pounds

Taxes ought not to pay for your bags of fudge rounds

She then goes on to relate the time she was on food stamps and how undignified it was. Later, she lectures readers that “protest against wealthy elites and government corruption, no matter how justified, cannot ride on the backs of others who are also suffering. The price of accessing food through SNAP or a church food pantry must not be the poor’s dignity and self-worth.”

But the truth is that even Christians should have a problem with people abusing the system. Yes, it’s nice that we have a safety net for people, but the Bible doesn’t call for government welfare programs to be the primary solution to society’s problems. Anderson does laud churches and other Christian organizations for helping people in need, but it’s wrong for her to say that calling out those who abuse the system robs people of their “dignity and self-worth.”

Seeing Christian authors lose their minds to progressivism isn’t all that uncommon these days, but another article, also from August, might blow your mind. Author Beth Felker Jones compares the crowds flocking to see Taylor Swift, Beyonce, and the “Barbie” movie to church communities. Jones expresses her delight with the “theological themes” in “Barbie” and makes a cheap shot at conservative Christians when she points out that “Swift has expressed public frustration with ways American Christianity has been attached to partisan politics.” (I can only imagine that Swift doesn’t have any problems with progressive Christians.)

“The kids want communal meaning,” Jones concludes. “So I’m going to keep hoping—hoping that, maybe, what they want is the body of Christ.”

Instead of hoping, why not try to lead these kids to faith in Christ? Instead of taking potshots at Christians whose politics Taylor Swift might not agree with and lauding a movie that alienates half of those kids who need Jesus — boys and men — by saying that they all mistreat women, why not show them what a truly vibrant Christian community looks like?

I wish I knew what happened to Christianity Today. It’s reminiscent of what we’ve seen in so many large Christian organizations. John Cooper of the band Skillet, himself a committed and outspoken Christian, says that larger Christian organizations wind up “leaning left and punching right,” meaning that they’re so afraid of being labeled “evil conservatives” that they’ll take left-leaning positions and attack conservatives to avoid criticism. I have a feeling that’s what has happened to Christianity Today, and it makes me angry and sad.

Biden’s Feebleness Getting Harder for Media to Cover Up

Biden's Growing Feebleness Is Getting Harder for the Media to Cover Up

The number one problem Joe Biden faces going into his re-election bid is the economy. It stinks. A majority of Americans think it stinks. Almost every previous presidential election was based on the voter’s perspective on the economy. Ronald Reagan’s question still haunts all incumbents: “Are you better off today than you were four years ago?”

The pandemic and the economic fallout from business closings, supply chain disruptions, and $5.2 trillion in government spending — which led to a painful spike in inflation — have made the Reagan question somewhat irrelevant. The economy has come roaring back to almost where Trump left it.

But people’s perspective on the economy is still clouded. That’s why this election may very well be decided by other factors.

This is a major one: a recent AP-NORC poll showed that a whopping 77% of voters think Joe Biden is too old to be president.

Axios:

A quarter of adults associate Biden with words related to his age, while words like “corrupt, criminal,” and “crooked” come to mind first for former President Trump, the poll found.

This foreshadows a potential rematch that could boil down to two main sticking points among voters: Biden’s age and Trump’s legal peril.

Driving the news: 77% of adults think Biden, 80, is too old to effectively serve for four more years, with 89% of Republicans holding that view and 69% of Democrats, the AP-NORC poll found.

That view is held across age groups, but voters 44 and under were more likely to hold the view.

Still, 82% of Democrats said they would at least probably support Biden if he is the party’s nominee.

The difference is that 26% of all voters think Biden is too old (“Old, outdated, aging, elderly”) and 15% think the president is too feeble (“Slow, confused, bumbling”). As for Trump, just 8% see him as a liar (“Liar, dishonest, untrustworthy”) and 15% as a crook (“Corrupt, criminal, crooked).

Biden’s age is a far bigger drag on him than Trump’s alleged corruption is on him. And since it doesn’t appear that the state of the economy is going to be the deciding factor — or at least as pivotal as it has been in the past — it’s possible the election may turn on whether people think Biden can do the job and whether Trump is guilty.

Many believe that Biden will not be the Democratic nominee. But from what I’ve seen, they’re going to have to carry him out of the White House feet first before he quits. Unless Democrats want a bloodbath at their convention, they are going to renominate Biden and Harris (they wouldn’t dare dump a black woman at this point).

But to silence the doubters about Biden’s age, his handlers are going to have to carry out the biggest presidential health cover-up since keeping FDR’s congestive heart failure, melanoma, and sky-high blood pressure from the voters in 1944.

They’ve already cut his daily schedule back to 30 hours and sent him on frequent vacations — 40% of his time in office has been spent at his beach house in Delaware or other relaxing getaways.

Biden’s handlers have made other concessions to his age as well. Ever since the president tripped over a sandbag and fell on stage at the U.S. Air Force Academy graduation, his handlers have tried to ensure that he isn’t placed in a situation where he might fall. To that end, they’re now using the “short stairs” on Air Force One to deplane.

NPR:

It’s one of the iconic images of the American presidency: the commander in chief, standing and waving to the cameras from the top of the stairs leading into Air Force One.

But recently, President Biden has been avoiding climbing up the sometimes-wobbly 18-foot staircase that is trucked over to the plane’s upper door. More often than not, he is using a much shorter and sturdier set of stairs that fold out from the belly of the plane.

Related: The White House Is Now Hiding Joe Biden’s Trips Up and Down Stairs on Air Force One

If you’re not following the president day-to-day, you’re not likely to pick up on these concessions to his age. And as long as the American people are burdened with an incurious press who don’t want to pick up on any sign of Biden’s feebleness, they aren’t going to know about it.

Stories from Israel Not Covered in the Mainstream Media

And yet Israel's haters always manage to somehow get the attention.

BY HUGH FITZGERALD

The BBC, The Guardian, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and similar beraters of Israel have been eager to portray the Israeli government as somehow complicit in the settler rampages through a handful of Palestinian villages. They give great attention to those “far-right” Israeli officials who idiotically declare their sympathy for those who, in the course of their rampages, set fire to Palestinian cars, houses, and fields. Itamar Ben Gvir is widely quoted; it was he who in a security meeting, called those who rampaged “sweet kids,” and he always manages to be good for a quote that will bring Israel into disrepute. But other stories, about the condemnation of the rampagers by so many Israelis in positions of leadership, are only passingly mentioned, if at all, in the international media, which is determined to present Israel in a bad light.

More on the reaction of Israel’s chief of staff to the recent settler rampages can be found here: “IDF chief Halevi: officers must intervene to stop attacks against Palestinians,” by Emanuel Fabian, Times of Israel, June 28, 2023:

Military chief Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi says officers must intervene in violence by Israeli civilians against Palestinians in the West Bank, following a recent string of settler attacks on Palestinian towns and villages.

“An officer who sees an Israeli citizen intending to throw a Molotov cocktail into a Palestinian house and stands by, cannot be an officer,” Halevi says at a cadets graduation ceremony at the Israel Defense Forces’ officers school in southern Israel, known as Bahad 1.

“This is our way, this is our strength here compared to the complex region in which we live, and we must not erode it,” he says….

I am unable to find any reference to these remarks made by the IDF’s head, Lt.-General Herzi Halevi in the mainstream media. Surely it would be of great interest to many, to learn how stern is his reminder to new officers that they must not stand by if a “Molotov cocktail” is thrown at a Palestinian house, for if they do, they “cannot be officers.” This means, of course, they would be booted from the military if they didn’t protect innocent Palestinians from attack. A few days before he addressed the graduating cadets, the IDF Chief of Staff joined Shin Bet Chief Ronen Bar, and Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai, in issuing a joint denunciation of the recent string of settler attacks on Palestinian villages, and said they plan to step up efforts against them. They called the attacks “nationalist terrorism.”

But you didn’t find out about that joint statement, or about Halevi’s speech to graduates if you rely on the BBC, The GuardianThe New York Times, or The Washington Post.

Nor was this the only telling failure to cover the Israeli officials’ condemnation of the rampaging settlers. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant several days before had condemned the settler rampage in Umm Safa and reinforced the message when he spoke by telephone to the P.A.’s Minister of Civil Affairs, Hossein Al-Sheikh, telling him that he, Gallant, “strongly condemns the actions caused by the Israeli extremists on innocent Palestinians” that have been carried out recently. Gallant said the defense establishment views the recent violence against Palestinian civilians with “great concern” and emphasized that Israel will “take action to bring the perpetrators to justice.”

Like the joint statement issued by the heads of the IDF, the Shin Bet, and the Israeli Police, condemning the settler violence as “terrorism,” and like the speech the IDF head, Herzl Halevi, delivered to the new officers reminding them of their duty to defend innocent Palestinians from attack, the phone call of Defense Minister Gallant to Hossein al-Sheikh, reassuring him that he “strongly condemns the Israeli extremists”and promising that Israel “will take action to bring the perpetrators to justice” did not make it into the Western media.

Finally there was the message delivered by Israeli President Herzog in a phone call to Mahmoud Abbas. He unequivocally denounced the “recent assault on innocent Palestinians by extremists.” He further said that he denounces “the cruel and unrestrained” settler riots, which he said were “illegal and immoral.”

And President Herzog’s denunciation of the rioting settlers, just like those of Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-General Herzl Halevi, Shin Bet Chief Ronen Bar, and Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai, didn’t make it into the Western media. On the other hand, Itamar Ben-Gvir’s extremist statements against the Palestinians, and in praise of such people as Rabbi Meir Kahane and Baruch Goldstein, always manage to get plenty of attention from, among other mainstream media outlets, the New York Times.

Which leads me to ask just one question: Why?

Leftist Magazine Wants You to Ignore Jihad Terrorism and Love Islam

And, of course, despise Christianity.

Two recent articles in the far-Left New Lines Magazine has illustrated yet again the Left’s fascination with Islam and disdain for Christianity. In Islam, Leftists have found a religion that coalesces nicely with their authoritarian agenda; the Judeo-Christian tradition, however, gave the world its notions of universal human dignity and individual rights, and so as far as Leftists are concerned, it must be destroyed.

All that New Lines really offers up are old lines; it is a doctrinaire Leftist publication, reflecting the political and media establishment line on everything. One recent article warns: “Abortion Access Under Threat.” A New Lines podcast discusses “War on a Warming Planet.” New Lines’ founder and editor-in-chief is Hassan Hassan, who has written for a lengthy list of far-Left propaganda sites, including The Atlantic, The New York Times, The Guardian and Foreign Affairs.

As New Lines’ publisher and most of its staff appear to be Muslim, and Hassan’s most recent article for his own publication is “Yusuf al-Qaradawi Leaves Behind a Complex Legacy,” offering qualified praise for a genocidal antisemite who praised Hitler (Hassan doesn’t mention any of that), New Lines’ pro-Islam bias is not surprising. However, even if there were no Muslims on New Lines’ staff at all, its editorial line, including its stance on Islam, would fit well within the contemporary Leftist mainstream.

On Friday, New Lines published an article entitled “How Islam Inspired the Music of the Late Jazz Legend Ahmad Jamal,” by Nathan Lean, a longtime purveyor of the Leftist propaganda fiction of “Islamophobia,” the claim that opponents of jihad violence and Sharia oppression of women are really engaged in irrational, race-based prejudice and bigotry that must be eliminated from the public discourse, with those opponents vilified, shamed, stigmatized, and silenced.

Although he has been more muted in recent years, Lean was for a considerable period one of the most vicious and hateful exponents of this vilification, as well as an open and unapologetic advocate for the destruction of the freedom of speech and the forcible silencing of foes of jihad terror. New Lines is ill-advised to publish a hate-filled thug such as Lean, but of course the Left’s hypocrisy in this regard is boundless, and unlike the Right, the Left never toes the opposition’s line and throws its own people under the bus, no matter what they do. As Lean’s burning hatred for critics of jihad violence is mainstream on the Left, he has a bright future.

It is well known that many jazz greats were converts to Islam, including Art Blakey, Pharoah Sanders, McCoy Tyner, Yusef Lateef, and numerous others. In New Lines, however, Lean goes much farther than simply noting this as a social phenomenon; he wants us to know that what made jazz great is Islam itself, hailing “the sacred influence that turned an edgy genre of music into a celebrated and storied art form.” Lean quotes Cannonball Adderley saying that Islam “must have something to do” with the calm heart of Jamal’s music; Adderly added: “He lives that way. He seems to be always at peace.” Lean calls upon readers to “heed the simple advice” that Jamal “once gave when asked about his conversion to Islam: ‘Listen to my music. The answer is there.’” Lean adds: “In the steady grooves. In the hushed passages. In the rises and falls. And in the clean-as-a-whistle, no-frills kind of playing that made him a pioneer.”

The unwritten subtext of Lean’s piece is that the filthy “Islamophobes” have wrongly tarred Islam for the sins of the jihad terrorists, impugning upstanding and heroic artists such as Ahmad Jamal. This, however, is also a Leftist fiction, as the principal opponents of jihad terror and Sharia oppression never denied the existence of peaceful Muslims, much less of Muslim jazz greats. The idea that articles such as Lean’s about Jamal have to be written or published at all is based on the Leftist claim that opposition to jihad is really just prejudice, so that if non-Muslims come to see that Muslims can be great men and innovative artists such as Ahmad Jamal, their hatred will dissipate. This is a false premise. Opposition to ISIS and al-Qaeda and the rest was never about Ahmad Jamal and his colleagues; it was Lean and his fellow propagandists who did their best to obscure the necessary distinctions in order to defame the Islamocritics.

In stark contrast to all this, New Lines on May 18 published a reminiscence by a Catholic who grew up in Yugoslavia, Ana Sekulić. Sekulić returns to the church she attended as a child in Istria, where, she says, she once looked at the other people in the congregation and wondered “why God chose to speak to them and not me.” Now, Sekulić notices graffiti on the backs of the pews and realizes that she “wasn’t the only one bored and confused.” She adds: “The church struck me as chipped, perhaps even a little cheap.”

Would New Lines ever publish an article in which a former Muslim writes about not experiencing Allah in the mosque, but rather being bored and confused, and revisiting the mosque years later to find that it looked “cheap”? Of course not. Would it ever publish an article that rhapsodized about the Christian influence upon, say, Bach, Beethoven and Mozart? Once again, the answer is obvious. New Lines feels free to denigrate Christianity but would never dare publish the slightest negative word about Islam. That’s what makes it a mainstream Leftist publication.

The Left and Islam are deep ideological kin. They both envision establishing an earthly paradise: the dictatorship of the proletariat on the one hand, and the hegemony of Sharia on the other. Both are enforced by violence and terror against those who dare to step out of line. That’s why the Leftist/Islamic alliance is so close, and why, despite some recent Muslim protests against the trans madness being forced upon primary school children, it is likely to endure.

Top O’ the Briefing

Happy Monday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. Blaine’s ability to produce a hard-boiled egg from any pocket both disturbed and fascinated the other members of the Metallurgy Club.

Things are about to get a lot spicier in the race for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. As Matt wrote last week, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is expected to finally announce that he will be challenging former President Donald Trump. Of course, DeSantis has been the other candidate in this race all along, pretty much living rent-free in Trump’s head these last several months.

Related: Trump’s Creepy Obsession With DeSantis Is Eerily Familiar

I should repeat for the millionth time that I will be all in on Trump if he’s the nominee. People have so many FEELINGS about this election and anything less than complete worship of Trump isn’t tolerated by his hardcore fans. I will also repeat that I don’t worship politicians — they work for me. I’d be happy to help give either Trump or DeSantis the job. Not so much with the rest of the potential field, though. Schlichter has a great takedown of the rest of them in his latest Townhall column.

The Democrats and their flying monkeys in the mainstream media are afraid of both Trump and DeSantis and — because they’re not very crafty anymore — they don’t do anything to hide it. Athena wrote yesterday about a recent Politico panic piece about a potential Trump return to the Oval Office:

Politico ran a story on Friday, and I must say, the title quickened my pulse. Tellingly titled, “Hurricane Trump Is Coming — And Washington Hasn’t Bothered to Prepare,” the story ran with the subhead, “After 2020, reformers vowed to erect guardrails against a rogue chief executive. They ran into a wall of complacency, partisanship and distraction.”

As if Leftists would have done a single thing to curtail executive overreach while they held office. Puh-lease.

Good Lord, the vapors these people get when writing about Trump. It’s as if they’re all taking a freshman composition class and the homework is a horror story. If only he’d been the Slayer of All Things Swamp that they make him out to be. I really hope that he does become “Hurricane Trump” if he gets back into office. This is from a column I wrote the first week of this year:

After all of the Beltway backstabbing that Trump endured from both sides of the aisle, I sincerely hope that if he returns, it is with a single-minded focus on righting wrongs, real or imagined. I told a friend of mine the other day that I want him to show up to his second inauguration wearing nothing but a codpiece and carrying a flamethrower. Just to set the tone.

The leftist press hacks are going to have to work double time during the Republican primaries because they fear and hate DeSantis as much as they do Trump. Sometimes the hit pieces will be subtle, as with the recent news about Disney canceling a huge project there, which Chris wrote about:

In 2021, then-Disney CEO Bob Chapek announced an ambitious plan to move the company’s Imagineering division from Glendale, Calif., to the Lake Nona area of Orlando, Florida. A favorable business climate in the Sunshine State, paired with a similar atmospheric climate to California, made the idea sound like a no-brainer to Chapek.

The project would have uprooted all the Imagineers and their families, forcing them to move across the country, an idea that was unpopular among the Imagineers. Former-CEO-turned-new-CEO Bob Iger saw the writing on the wall, and, as he has done with many of Chapek’s decisions, he reversed course.

The project was doomed, but it’s being spun that it was to spite DeSantis for his “war” with Disney. After years of lying about DeSantis killing people during COVID, they’re lying about him killing jobs.

The execrable Dem advocates at Politico struck again, this time going after DeSantis’s wife. My colleague Sarah Arnold covered the story at Townhall:

Politico piece faces significant backlash after posting a scathing report on the wife of Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla)— Casey DeSantis.

Titled “The Casey DeSantis Problem: His Greatest Asset and His Greatest Liability,” is receiving hate for its sexist and misogynistic tone. The article quoted anonymous former DeSantis staffers, alleged insiders who supposedly have “dirt” on the couple, and Democratic strategists who accuse DeSantis’s wife of being “blindly ambitious” in an effort to help her husband be elected as the next president.

The article also refers to Casey DeSantis as “Lady Macbeth,” the Shakespearean character who conspires to have her husband kill the king so that he can ascend to the throne.

Subtle, no?

Did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ghostwrite this thing?

The rule in American political reporting is that a candidate’s family is off-limits unless the candidate is a Republican. All of leftist media conspired to keep Hunter Biden’s laptop out of the news in 2020. As those of us who aren’t delusional have known all along, Hunter Biden is one of the biggest sleazebags in presidential family history. But he’s off-limits for the likes of Politico writers.

The American mainstream media has been plumbing new depths since the 2016 presidential election. The cheerleaders were even worse in 2020. Sadly, they’re almost certain to go even lower trying to tear apart Trump and DeSantis. This is going to be ugliness on a Jill Biden dress scale. Both men are going to have to balance fending off unhinged attacks in the media and attacks from each other.

By the time one emerges victorious, he’ll be plenty battle tested.

The Washington Post Relies on Journalists Who Turn Out to Be Terror-Linked

The Washington Post has begun to rival the Guardian in the shoddiness of its coverage of Israel and the Palestinians. It has been using terrorists as the sources for some of its stories, but identifying them only as “journalists.” More on this story can be found here: “The Washington Post Pretends Terrorists Are Both Journalists and Credible Sources,” by Sean Durns, Algemeiner, May 12, 2023:

Two recent reports by The Washington Post neatly encompass everything that is wrong with both the newspaper’s coverage of the Israel-Islamist conflict and the paper’s journalism itself. Both dispatches appeared on the same day, May 10, and both were filed by the newspaper’s Jerusalem bureau.

In a news report on an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) counter-terrorist operation, the Post treated a terrorist-linked entity as a credible source. While ostensibly about IDF strikes aimed at taking out leaders of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), a Gaza-based terror group, the article uncritically quoted casualty claims by “Palestinian health officials.”

Later, the Post noted that “four women and four children were among those killed in the morning strikes, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.”

These figures of four women and four children killed were put out by something called the “Palestinian Health Ministry.” But that “Ministry” is run by the terror group Hamas, and it has a long history of exaggerating the number of Palestinian civilian deaths caused by Israel.

Yet, notwithstanding its innocuous sounding name, the “Palestinian Health Ministry” is run by Hamas, a US-designated terrorist group. And it has a long history of lying to journalists, who — for some inexplicable reason — are more than willing to parrot its claims.

Did the Washington Post reporter not think to investigate this innocent-sounding “Palestinian Health Ministry” before credulously quoting its claims? It would not have taken long to find out that it is run by Hamas and has a history of lying to journalists, especially about the numbers of civilian casualties, with the goal of making Israel look bad. We still don’t know if the figure of the dead that the Health Ministry put out on May 10 – of four women and four children killed — was accurate, or was an exaggeration. But since the Health Ministry has a long record of exaggerating the toll on civilians, shouldn’t the reporter have at least identified the source as “part of the terror group Hamas, so its figures must be treated with extreme caution”?

In a July 7, 2021, report for the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, entitled “The Media in the 2021 Gaza War,” Middle East analyst Lenny Ben-David noted that a “Hamas government body, the Health Ministry, was a primary source for international media outlets on the number of Gaza’s dead and wounded” in that conflict. However, the statistics supplied by the Ministry were “unreliable.”

Ben-David pointed out: “A study on Gazan casualties in the 2014 war published by the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs uncovered a Health Ministry official, Ashraf al-Kidra, who served as the ‘keeper of the statistics.’ Al-Kidra used a very broad definition of civilians, saying the term applied to ‘anyone who had not been claimed by one of the armed groups as a member.’”

Al-Kidra, a member of Hamas and the “keeper of statistics” at the Hamas-run Health Ministry, back during the 2014 Gaza conflict, was determined to maximize the number of “civilians” Israel killed. One way was simply to identify anyone who was not claimed as a member of any of the recognized terror groups – Hamas, PIJ, PFLP, Hezbollah – a “civilian,” even if that “civilian” had participated in terror attacks without being formally a member of any group, or had been responsible for lone wolf terror attacks. Al-Kidra’s broad definition of who is a “civilian” greatly expands the number of those “civilians” killed by those wicked Israelis.

It makes perfect sense that a terrorist group would lie and manipulate casualty statistics for propaganda purposes. Indeed, that’s part and parcel of what terrorist groups do across the world.

Hamas itself has acknowledged as much. For example, in a 2018 interview, Hamas official Mahmoud al-Zahar admitted to Al-Jazeera that the group believed in “deceiving the public” for propaganda purposes.

Of course, Hamas tries to deceive the world’s Infidels. It is only following the example of Muhammad, who in a famous hadith declared that “war is deception.”

And Hamas, which runs the Health Ministry, encourages civilian casualties.

Hamas has always targeted Israeli civilians and employed Palestinian human shields — a double war crime. The group has used schools to hide its weaponry, equipment, and fighters, and, as recently as the 2014 conflict, used ambulances as “transport vehicles” and hospitals as “command centers.” During the 2021 war, the group was infamously caught using the building that housed Associated Press offices for operations — a war crime that was obfuscated by news outlets like The Washington Post.

The members of the AP, though they shared the same office building with a Hamas command-and-control center, claimed in May 2021, after their office building had been leveled by Israel, to have been completely unaware of Hamas’ presence. They were, of course, warned well in advance by Israel to vacate the building, which they did. That warning also allowed the Hamas operatives to get out safely, but the IDF saw that its first duty was to warn civilians, even if that also meant alerting Hamas. The upshot was that Israel was raked over the coals by the international media for having attacked the building where Hamas had one of its main offices because the AP and other news organizations also had their offices destroyed. No gratitude was expressed by the AP to Israel for having warned its staff to leave in time, even though that warning also allowed Hamas to vacate the premises.

In short: Hamas runs the Health Ministry. And it is in their interest both to encourage civilian deaths and to lie about them.

Why the Post’s Jerusalem bureau seems to think it’s in their reader’s interest to treat Hamas-run entities as credible is a question that warrants asking.

Either the reporters in the Washington Post‘s Jerusalem bureau are extraordinarily ignorant, in not realizing that the Health Ministry in Gaza was controlled by Hamas, or they are malevolent, in attempting to hide the fact of Hamas’ control of the Health Ministry and its doubtful statistics from their readers. Either explanation ought to have disqualified them from further reporting on Israel and the Palestinians.

As Jonathan Schanzer of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a Washington D.C.-based think, noted: “If you are a journalist citing ‘ministry of health’ statistics out of Gaza, you might want to take some time off and reconsider your professional standards for sources.”

Regrettably, the Post isn’t interested in taking time off from misleading readers. The newspaper’s story on the counter-terrorist operation came complete with a pull quote from Ismail Haniyeh, a top Hamas operative, which called terrorism “resistance.”

Why was Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas, given pride of place with a pull quote in which he describes what Hamas does – murder civilians in terror attacks – as “resistance”? Why was that given as a pull quote so as to draw attention to a Goebbels-level lie? Hamas has only one goal, unchanged since its 1964 Charter – to destroy the state of Israel, to expel or kill all of its Jews, and to replace Israel with a Palestinian Arab state “from the river to the sea.”

Worse still, the Post continued its own well-worn habit of supplying misleading casualty stats, claiming that “this year has been one of the deadliest in recent memory for Israelis and Palestinians in the West Bank.”

The paper asserted that “since January, at least 95 casualties have been killed by Israeli security forces or settlers” whereas only “17 Israelis and one foreign national have been killed by Palestinians.”

But the overwhelming majority of Palestinians killed have been terrorists — a fact that was documented by nonpartisan think tanks like the FDD, among others, long before the Post’s May 10 report.

The Washington Post provided only figures about the numbers of Palestinian and Israeli dead It did not report on how many of those dead were civilians, and how many of the Palestinians who were killed were members of terror groups. Why not? Very likely because the paper’s reporters wanted to create more sympathy for the Palestinians, who had more than five times the number of casualties as did the Israelis, by hiding the fact that at least 80 of those 95 Palestinians were members of two terror groups, Hamas and PIJ. That puts an entirely different slant on the conflict.

Indeed, as the Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center has highlighted, many of the slain Palestinians have been claimed by the terrorist groups themselves. By contrast, all of the Israelis were murdered by terrorists — and all, except one, were civilians.

It is abhorrent to conflate the victims of terrorists with slain terrorists when listing casualties.

The critical information left out in The Washington Post report is this: many – about 80 — of those 95 Palestinians killed in 2023 were not civilians, but terrorists. And all but one of the 19 Israelis killed were civilians, murdered by terrorists.

Additionally, the Post’s claim that “violence has intensified this year between Israel and Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza under Netanyahu’s new government” is misleading. As FDD’s Jonathan Schanzer and Joe Truzman detailed in a Feb. 24, 2023, Washington Examiner op-ed, the uptick in violence can be traced back to 2021 — before the current Netanyahu government.

The rise in violence between Israel and the Palestinians did not begin when the Netanyahu government took over. It began, rather, in May 2021, after a series of attacks on Israelis from Hamas and the PIJ led Israel to respond in what was known as Operation Breaking the Wave.

Indeed, as the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis (CAMERA) pointed out in a Nov. 18, 2021, op-ed, the violence has more to do with internal Palestinian upheavals than Israel’s latest coalition. Current Palestinian Authority President (PA) Mahmoud Abbas reigns but barely rules; the PA-controlled West Bank is increasingly fragmented and Iranian-proxies like Hamas sense an opportunity to make inroads in the areas controlled by Fatah, their erstwhile rival.

In the West Bank, both Hamas and PIJ have been gaining members at the expense of the PA. The violence on the West Bank has recently been mostly among different Palestinian factions, with Hamas readier to challenge the authority of the PA, which is wildly unpopular. 80% of Palestinians now say they want Mahmoud Abbas to resign. The intra-Arab violence has gotten so bad, and the Palestinian Authority so unable to control it, that Arabs in Hebron appealed to the King of Jordan to send troops to reestablish order (he didn’t). This intra-Arab violence is likely to continue in Gaza once the current fighting with Israel ends. Then there may be a settling of scores between PIJ and Hamas fighters, with the former angry that Hamas abandoned it entirely during its battle with Israel, and the latter may want to deliver a final blow to its Gazan rival, the PIJ, now that Israel has so thoroughly weakened it.

But as CAMERA has noted, the Post doesn’t really cover Palestinian internal matters— not unless Israel can be blamed. Palestinians are but cannon fodder for their columns.

The Washington Post only covers Israel-Palestinian violence, not the intra-Arab rivalries and fighting that plague both Gaza and the West Bank. It needs always to have an anti-Israel angle to its stories, and that angle is lacking in the stories of PA vs. Hamas battles in the West Bank and the Hamas vs. PIJ conflict in Gaza. So internal disputes among the Palestinians are given short shrift in the Post.

This attitude, and the Post’s brazen contempt for basic journalistic standards, were evidenced in the Jerusalem bureau’s other May 10 report.

That dispatch, entitled “A year after journalist’s fatal shooting, report finds patter of Israel inaction,” regurgitated claims made by the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) that since 2001, the IDF has been responsible for the deaths of 20 reporters.

Yet, according to CAMERA’s Arabic department, no fewer than eight of those “reporters” have been linked to US-designated terrorist groups, serving their propaganda and media arms. Their levels of affiliation vary. As CPJ’s own report notes, some worked for media outlets associated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), and others for Hamas.

Almost half of the 20 journalists whom the Committee to Protect Journalists has accused Israel of killing turn out to be members of terror groups. They served in the propaganda and media offices of Hamas, with lesser numbers working for the PFLP.

One, Muhammad al-Bishawi, was killed inside the “Palestinian Center for Studies and Media” in Nablus, which even CPJ calls “a Hamas information office,” during the assassination of Hamas official Jamal Mansour. According to his biography for the Hamas-affiliated students movement, of which he was a member, Bishawi was working at the center, and Mansour was his boss. Another “journalist,” Khaled Riyadh Hamad, was an operative of Hamas’s al-Qassam brigades (Hamas itself refersto him as a “martyred Jihad warrior of al-Qassam”) — and was buried wrapped in the movement’s flag.

Muhammad al-Bishawi and his boss Jamal Mansour both worked in the Hamas propaganda offices, while Khaled Riyadh Hamad was an operative of the Al-Qassam Brigades – in other words, a Hamas fighter — as well as a journalist.

All three, then, can be considered as terrorists who were furthering the work of Hamas, even if two worked in propaganda, and only one was considered to be a “martyred jihad warrior” from having taken part in a violent attack.

Sameh al-Aryan, Mahmoud al-Kumi, Ahmed Abu-Hussein, Yousef Abu-Hussein, and Hussam Salama, all worked for media outlets associated with the PFLP or Hamas.

These five also worked in the media outlets linked to two terror groups – Hamas and the PFLP. That means at least eight of the twenty so-called “journalists” whom Israel is accused of killing since 2001 were really members of terror groups. They were as much a valued part of those terror groups as were those who shot or stabbed Israeli civilians.

CPJ itself notes as much. But The Washington Post failed to mention this salient fact.

Those who work for the media arms of terrorist groups like Al-Qaeda’s Inspire Magazine or the Islamic State’s Dabiq are certainly not considered “journalists” — even by the Post. Curiously this standard is dropped when the terrorist groups in question have Israel as their primary target.

The PFLP and Hamas and their propaganda entities routinely celebrate the murders of Israeli civilians. That they’re considered “reporters” by the CPJ is disqualifying.

The Post omits other relevant information, notably the fact that CPJ’s report covers multiple wars and at least two Intifadas (one of which lasted nearly five years and cost more than 1,000 Israelis their lives). Reporting from combat zones is inherently dangerous, particularly when terrorist groups use human shields — or when they disguise themselves as journalists.

Indeed, although the newspaper doesn’t mention it, there have been several instances of terrorist group’s donning garb and pretending to be journalists. In 2018, the Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center, published an open-source report entitled “Palestinians use indications of media affiliation to protect themselves during anti-Israel military activities and terrorist attacks,” which documented this phenomenon. And as recently as the summer of 2022, a Palestinian journalist named Ghufran Hamed Warasneh attempted to stab IDF troops.

Not only are some of these “Palestinian journalists” in fact working full-time for terror groups –Hamas, PIJ, and the PFLP – but some terrorists disguise themselves as journalists, complete with press passes, and signs indicating their media affiliation, when they conduct anti-Israel “military attacks and terrorist attacks.” They hope thereby to prevent Israeli attacks on themselves – they are deceptively decked out in the garb of journalists, with notepads, recorders, mikes, video cameras, and signs reading “PRESS. ”

All of this seems relevant to the Post’s report. But The Washington Post seems incapable of telling the difference between terrorists and journalists, or terrorists and credible sources. And that is a fact worth noting.

The Washington Post accepts as reliable sources such Hamas-run organizations as the “Palestinian Health Ministry” in Gaza, despite that body’s long history of falsifying statistics, including greatly inflating the number of civilians killed by Israel. Furthermore, the Post fails to inform its readers that many of those it describes as “journalists” killed by Israel – 20 over 22 years, or less than 1 a year – are in fact operatives of terror groups. At least eight out of the twenty, and possibly more, turn out to be members of Hamas and the PFLP. Finally, some terrorists disguise themselves as journalists in the hope of escaping attacks by the IDF. The Washington Post has a lot of remedial work to do, including firings and hirings among those in its Jerusalem bureau, if it wants its coverage of Israel and the Palestinians to be taken seriously.

We Already Have a Disinformation Governance Board: Media Decides What You Can and Cannot Hear From RFK Jr.

Old Joe Biden’s handlers tried and failed to establish their own little Ministry of Truth, the Disinformation Governance Board, but they were likely not devastated by the ignominious failure of this initiative. That’s because they already have plenty of Disinformation Governance Boards: they’re known as “news outlets.” The mainstream media happily carries water for the establishment line, as we saw again this week with ABC’s censorship of its own interview with a Democrat presidential candidate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., because his views on vaccines dissent from the establishment line.

Linsey Davis of ABC began by warning viewers not to support this man; she introduced Kennedy as “one of the biggest voices pushing anti-vaccine rhetoric, regularly distributing misinformation and disinformation about vaccines, which scientific and medical experts overwhelmingly say are safe and effective based on rigorous scientific studies.” The network then proceeded to cut Kennedy’s own words about the vaccines, not allowing him to make his case.

Numerous viewers found this disturbing. The problems with it were succinctly articulated by an unlikely voice: Bruce Pearl, Auburn University’s basketball coach, who tweeted Monday, “How is this Ok? How can the media simply edit or censor what a candidate has said about a topic, in this case, COVID, because ABC says that it’s dangerous or misinformation? Isn’t it our job to hear a candidate and determine that for ourselves?”

It is, or at least it was. Davis was upfront and unapologetic about the network’s censorship of the video, explaining that “during our conversation, Kennedy made false claims about the COVID-19 vaccines.” She claimed that “data shows that the Covid-19 vaccine has prevented millions of hospitalizations and deaths from the disease.” She detailed other supposedly false claims that Kennedy made and concluded, “We’ve used our editorial judgment in not including extended portions of that exchange in our interview.”

Yet Davis’ own claims were unproven at best. Kennedy’s website, The Defender, features an April 14 article with the headline, “45 Times as Many Deaths After COVID Shots in Just 2 Years Compared With All Flu Vaccine-Related Deaths Since 1990, Data Show.” The subtitle: “The authors of a peer-reviewed meta-analysis of national and international COVID-19 vaccine adverse events during the first two years of the rollout said their findings highlight the importance of reevaluating public health policies that promote universal mass injection and multiple boosters for all demographic groups.” Did Davis offer any specific refutation of these claims? Of course not. The guardians of acceptable opinion don’t have to defend themselves.

The same imperiousness showed through in the part of the interview that did air. According to the Daily Caller on Friday, Davis challenged Kennedy “over his claims that there is a correlation between vaccinations and autism.” Davis asserted that what Kennedy was saying had been “debunked.” Kennedy asked, “Wait a minute, who debunked it?” Davis replied, “We have not seen any kind of scientific connections from the CDC, the World Health Organization…” Kennedy said, “They’re captured agencies.” Davis didn’t bother to explain why this wasn’t so.

After the interview, Kennedy charged that what ABC did was actually illegal, noting that “47 USC 315 makes it illegal for TV networks to censor Presidential candidates.” He stated, “I’m happy to supply citations to support every statement I made during that exchange,” and naively added, “I’m certain that ABC’s decision to censor came as a shock to Linsey as well.” This is unlikely. Censorship is the hallmark of the contemporary Left.

In a certain sense, however, ABC’s censorship of Kennedy is encouraging. It demonstrates that Leftists are not at all confident that people will end up agreeing with them if they hear opposing viewpoints. But of course, once Leftists realize this, they turn to the forcible silencing of those opposing views. ABC demonstrated that it thinks the people who are unfortunate enough to watch the network are too stupid to think for themselves or evaluate truth claims on their own. It also showed that it thinks Leftist “news” outlets properly have the authority to determine what the American people see and hear and what they do not.

RFK Jr. is a lone voice on the Left standing against this trend. But will our moral superiors even allow Americans to hear what he says?
