“Middlesex County Man Charged with Communicating Threat to Attack Synagogue,” Justice Department, November 10, 2022:

NEWARK, N.J. – A Middlesex County, New Jersey, man was arrested today for transmitting via the internet a manifesto containing threats to attack a synagogue and Jewish people, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced.

Omar Alkattoul, 18, of Sayreville, New Jersey, was arrested this morning and is charged by complaint with one count of transmitting a threat in interstate and foreign commerce on or about Nov. 1, 2022. He is scheduled to appear this afternoon before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jessica S. Allen in Newark federal court.

“No one should be targeted for violence or with acts of hate because of how they worship,” U.S. Attorney Sellinger said. “According to the complaint, this defendant used social media to send a manifesto containing a threat to attack a synagogue based on his hatred of Jews….

“When we learn of credible threats to our community – whether based in hate toward religion, race, sexual orientation, or gender – we call on law enforcement and community partners to assist in identifying and mitigating that threat,” Special Agent in Charge James E. Dennehy said. “Thanks to the collaborative efforts among our Joint Terrorism Task Force Members, a potentially harmful situation was averted….

According to documents filed in this case and statements made in court:

On Nov. 1, 2022, Alkattoul used a social media application to send an individual a link to a document entitled “When Swords Collide” and admitted to this individual that he wrote the document, stating: “It’s in the context of an attack on Jews.” According to a second individual, Alkattoul also sent the document to at least five other people using another social media application. In the document, Alkattoul wrote the following:

I am the attacker and I would like to introduce myself. . . I am a Muslim with so many regrets but I can assure you this attack is not one of them and Insha’Allah many more attacks like these against the enemy of Allah and the pigs and monkeys will come.

I will discuss my motives in a bit but I did target a synagogue for a really good reason according to myself and a lot of Muslims who have a brain. Let’s be aware of the fact that the Jews promote the biggest hatred against Muslimeen even in the west. The Jews are in fact a very powerful group in the west which is why western countries today shill for them on top of the murtadeen in Saudi Arabia and every Arab country.

This attack was just to remind the Jews that as long as 1 Muslim remains in this world they will never live a pleasant life until the Muslims in Palestine, Syria, West Africa, and South Asia are living a pleasant life. The Jews support terror against the muslimeen and they always have . . . .  So the motive of this attack is hatred towards Jews and their heinous acts and I don’t want anyone to tell me for a second that “not all Jews support terror against Muslims” yes they do! They have since day one. Their Torah justifies their acts and let’s keep in mind it was a Jew that tried to kill the nebi SAW.

The charge of transmitting a threat in interstate and foreign commerce is punishable by a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine….

EXPLICIT: Prestigious Connecticut Private School Educator Details Sexual Fantasies with High School Students … ‘They Spread Their Legs Wide Open and That is Just Brutal’ … ‘Possibly Means Me Losing My Job’ • Iman Rasti, Director of Writing Center; Middle School English Teacher; Seventh Grade Dean at Greens Farms Academy: “That possibly means me losing my job, my reputation -- it’s way too risky. Like, one thing they [students] do these days, they sit down in front of me, they purposefully sit down somewhere in the class that is literally directly in front of me. They spread their legs wide open and that is just brutal. Brutal.” • Rasti: “Every day there are different panties on: green, black, white, and they [students] make sure -- it’s like they talk to each other, the three of them do that.” • Rasti: “They open their legs, and I am teaching, and I see what I see. They make sure that the panties are positioned in a way that I actually see the thing.” • Rasti: “Well, how can you concentrate? How can you continue talking with your classroom when you see that? I don’t know for women -- if you see, I don’t know, I guess for women it’s sexy to see a man with a hard-on. Maybe it’s sexy, I don’t know…They [students] are naughty.” • Rasti: “So, you see a 15-year-old girl, and next year they come back to school, and she is a woman. She is a woman. There is no way -- she has gained weight, just, doing nothing, so it is clear that she has had sex. A lot of sex.” • GREENS FARMS ACADEMY RESPONDS: “We have just been made aware of a report of inappropriate comments allegedly made by a teacher at GFA. We are placing the employee on leave and will be promptly investigating this matter and taking appropriate action.” - Michelle Levi, spokesperson for Greens Farms Academy. [Westport, Conn. – Nov. 10, 2022] Project Veritas released a new video today exposing an educator working at a prestigious Connecticut private school, Iman Rasti, for sexually-explicit statements he made about his current high school students. Rasti, who oversees Greens Farms Academy’s Writing Center, teaches Middle School English, and is the Seventh Grade Dean, was recorded fantasizing about young female pupils. He even admits that his thoughts could get him in trouble at work. “That possibly means me losing my job, my reputation -- it’s way too risky. Like, one thing they [students] do these days, they sit down in front of me, they purposefully sit down somewhere in the class that is literally directly in front of me. They spread their legs wide open and that is just brutal. Brutal,” Rasti said. “Every day, there are different panties on: green, black, white, and they [students] make sure -- it’s like they talk to each other, the three of them do that,” he said. Rasti speaks of his students in a very descriptive way. “They open their legs, and I am teaching, and I see what I see. They make sure that the panties are positioned in a way that I actually see the thing,” he said. “Well, how can you concentrate? How can you continue talking with your classroom when you see that? I don’t know for women -- if you see, I don’t know, I guess for women it’s sexy to see a man with a hard on. Maybe it’s sexy, I don’t know…They [students] are naughty.” The private school educator goes on to make an odd association between his students’ age, weight, and sexual life. “So, you see a 15-year-old girl, and next year they come back to school, and she is a woman. She is a woman. There is no way -- she has gained weight, just, doing nothing, so it is clear that she has had sex. A lot of sex.” As a result of these statements by Rasti, Project Veritas decided to reach out to retired State Police Officer, Corporal Thomas McAndrew, who spent 25 years on the force leading major crime investigations and profiling offenders in the state of Pennsylvania. McAndrew said that Rasti’s remarks raise concerns. “It’s just very concerning that he would lose that judgment -- of the difference between what position he is in,” McAndrew said. “Concern with the fact that this is where his mindset is. His mindset is not in welcoming back a teenager who is a student, but instead, he’s obsessed with a sexual connotation or the sexual aspect of that student. Why his mind would go there is very concerning. Again, fantasy is one thing, thinking it is another thing. But when he has blurred the lines and started to justify all of his behavior, it is certainly a concern to us,” he said. “It is predatory. When somebody is this obsessed with a fantasy, it starts to rule their life. They start to move in a direction of losing the concept of reality. The reality is he’s a teacher. He’s in a power position. He should be worried about educating these children. Instead, his focus is more on constantly -- it seems, constantly obsessed with sexual aspects of these children.”

Islamist Infiltration of the Broward County Sheriff’s Office

Gregory Tony and his subordinates partner with those who wish us harm.

In 2014, then-Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel set a terrible precedent when he hired Nezar Hamze, a representative from CAIR, a group with numerous links to terrorism, as a Deputy at the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO). Hamze ‘opened doors’ for Sheriff Israel, by introducing the Sheriff to radical mosques. Five years later, Israel was removed from his position and replaced with Gregory Tony. Yet, not only has Tony kept Hamze on the force, but he has gone much further in his embrace of Islamists, even having them participate in his 9/11 memorial. Why is Sheriff Tony legitimizing these sinister entities and exposing the BSO to such security threats?

The BSO has found a dangerous partner in the Islamic Center of South Florida (ICOSF), a radical mosque located in Pompano Beach. This past April, Sheriff Tony and a number of BSO officers showed up to ICOSF for a Ramadan ‘Break the Fast.’ In June, it looked as if the entire BSO showed up at the mosque’s 2022 Summer Camp. In October, the ICOSF Sisterhood sponsored a BSO event at the mosque, where the female BSO representatives donned hijabs.

ICOSF is owned by the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT), a group named by the US a co-conspirator to Hamas financing. ICOSF’s Imam Hasan Sabri has cursed America as an “enemy” and threatened Muslims who accept her help. ICOSF regularly brings controversial imams Monzer Taleb and Fadi Kablawi to the mosque to give khutbahs (sermons). Taleb is a self-professed member of Hamas, who posted on Facebook that Jews in Israel “should be relocated to Germany.” Kablawi, who the FBI says is a member of ISIS, has called Jews “the lowest of the lowest”; blamed women for rape; and said gays should thank him for their continued existence.

Appearing in a number of photographs with Sheriff Tony is ICOSF’s Dawah Director Rasheed Mahamad. Apart from his involvement with the mosque, Mahamad is the Assistant Secretary of the American Muslim Association of North America (AMANA), a group that has been condemned by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) for posting “venomous” anti-Semitic material on its official website and whose President Sofian Zakkout was removed from two prominent anti-crime boards for his support of Hamas and Holocaust denial.

This past September, Sheriff Tony hosted a ‘Unity in Faith Prayer Breakfast and 9/11 Memorial,’ which, according to Tony, “joined BSO and the community to pray and honor the men and women who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.” A photo from the event has the Sheriff bowing has head in prayer with Shafayat Mohamed, the Imam of the Pembroke Pines-based Darul Uloom Institute (DUI), which has been a haven for high-profile al-Qaeda terrorists. Mohamed, himself, has been thrown off a number of Broward boards for his harsh rhetoric against homosexuals.

Also attending the 9/11 Memorial and posing for photos with the Sheriff were Samir Kakli and Gibson Lopez, representatives from the South Florida Muslim Federation (SFMF), an umbrella group for radical Muslim institutions. In the pics as well was Sultan Mohiuddin, Imam of the Islamic Foundation of South Florida (IFSF), another radical mosque with a sordid history. IFSF has hosted a talk by Mazen Mokhtar, ex-admin for an al-Qaeda finance/recruitment website and supporter of suicide bombings. IFSF’s ex-Youth Director Abdur Rahman al-Ghani, used social media to label Jews “demonic” and America the “World’s Number One Terrorist Organization.”

Last month, Sheriff Tony and the BSO hosted a ‘National Faith & Blue’ community event, featuring “Games, Competitions, Prizes” and a “Musical Concert.” However, the event also featured a prayer made by Mohiuddin and photo ops once again with Mohiuddin and the Muslim Federation.

A common element at these BSO events is the presence of BSO Colonel Munib Ahmed, who holds the secondary title of Executive Officer to the Sheriff. Essentially, Munib is second in charge to Sheriff Tony, and his profile is depicted as such on the BSO website. His prominence in the event photos is undeniable. It appears that Ahmed, a Muslim whose parents grew up in Saudi Arabia and India, is the go-between for Sheriff Tony and the radical Muslim community. Colonel Ahmed is Sheriff Tony’s Nezar Hamze version 2.0.

Recently, Sheriff Tony was added to the Brady List, a watch list that prosecutors use to keep track of law enforcement officers who have engaged in or have been accused of misconduct. Questions have arisen about Tony’s truthfulness regarding things that transpired when he was in his early teens. This has made him a candidate for potential removal from office. However, Sheriff Tony’s actions regarding Islamists amount to far worse infractions with far-reaching repercussions.

Sheriff Tony’s continued embrace of terror-supporting Muslims and their mosques is a blatant conflict of interests vis-à-vis his oath to ‘protect and serve’ the community, whose safety is his responsibility. His dereliction of duty, in this regard, must not remain unchallenged. The public should be calling for his immediate resignation to prevent further harm to their well-being and national security.

The Radical Inclusive CATHOLIC Church

Irish of a traditional bent need not apply.

BY WILLIAM KILPATRICK

Most practicing Catholics will have noticed by now that the Church under Francis has changed.  And many are not happy with the changes.

For example, Andrea Cianci, author of a new book that questions the validity of Francis’s election, says that Francis’s objective is to “demolish Catholicism.” But it’s not only Francis that traditional Catholics worry about. His plans for the dismantling of the Church are being implemented by a small army of prelates who are, in essence, Francis clones.

Right now, Francis and his supporters are utilizing the Synod on Synodality as the main engine for transforming the Church into something new and strange. Conservative critics of the synod claim that it is a “hostile takeover of the Church,” an “exercise in self-destructive behavior,” and an “open revolution.” This may seem extreme, but many of Francis’s words and actions reveal a man who is deeply hostile to the Catholic Church—a Church that he considers “rigid,” “fundamentalist,” “exclusivist,” and very much in need of opening up. Moreover, those who are running the Synod share his sentiments.

In reality, the Church has been opening up ever since the pontificate of John XXIII, but much of what the Church of Francis is engaged in is not simply an opening up of the Church, but a rejection of it.  Church leaders are already in the process of rejecting the Church’s teaching on marriage, adultery, abortion, homosexuality, gender, divorce, polygamy, clerical celibacy, and women’s ordination. To the extent that they are opening the Church, they are opening it to people who dissent from Church teaching on these and other matters.

Perhaps because they realize they are already firmly in control, the “woke” prelates have become quite open about what they plan to do.  For example, the Vatican has just released a new document for the Synod on Synodality which calls for “a Church capable of radical inclusion.”

The 44-page document is entitled “Enlarge the space of your tent,” but the tent doesn’t seem to have much space for traditional Catholic beliefs and practices.  Rather it encourages dialogue with “those who, for various reasons, feel a tension between belonging to the Church and their own loving relationship, such as remarried divorcees, single parents, people living in a polygamous marriage, LGBTQ people, etc.”

“Polygamous marriage?”  One wonders what’s included in “etc.”  In any event, this new inclusive model is being suggested as the model the Church should embrace.  But don’t assume that the plan is to help the “marginalized” (i.e., adulterers, LGBTQ, etc.) to conform their lives to Church teaching.  Rather, the plan is to conform the Church’s teachings to the “lived experience” of the marginalized.

“Radical inclusion” sounds vaguely Christian, but it is actually a plan for demolishing the Church—as the word “radical” implies. The word brings to mind images of the radical French Revolution, the radical Russian Revolution, and the radical Sexual Revolution. All three resulted in enormous damage to the societies involved, yet the Synod documents often speak the language of revolutionary change. Moreover, the Synod fathers seem anxious to bless the Sexual Revolution and bring it fully into the Church. “Radical” is not usually thought of as a term of praise, but that’s the way it was used by Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, the Relator General of the Synod, in a recent interview with L’Osservatore Romano. Hollerich praised Pope Francis for being “not a liberal” but a “radical.”

Most Catholics don’t keep up with recent issues of L’Osservatore Romano or with the latest Vatican document. So, relatively few are aware of the radical nature of the changes being proposed in the synods. Perhaps the most prominent synodal theme is “inclusion,” and the promise that no one is excluded. But when the Synod fathers say “no one is excluded,” it should give us pause.  Do they also mean “no sins are excluded?”  Do they mean that no repentance is required? The numerous synod documents suggest that what progressive Catholics want is an inclusive community without rules—a place where each follows his or her own inner guidance.

But workable communities that last do have rules and, in order to survive, they tend to exclude those who won’t follow the rules.  One supposes, for example, that a good number of bishops belong to a golf club.  And it’s a good bet they know and observe the rules of the club.  If a bishop drives his golf cart in a reckless way after several drinks and several warnings, he can expect to be excluded from the club.  He can claim that the club has “marginalized” him, but in reality, he has marginalized himself.

One might counter by observing that the Church is not a golf club. It follows a different—more merciful– set of rules. Cardinal Hollerich has said as much: “[The] Kingdom of God is not an exclusive club.” Rather, he says, its doors are open “to everyone without discrimination.” “This,” said Hollerich, “is simply about affirming that Christ’s message is for everyone.”

All Christians can agree that Christ’s message is for everyone. But most would want “everyone” to hear the full message of Christ, not a highly redacted version. If you read the full message of Christ on the subject of entrance into the Kingdom of God, you would not, contra Hollerich, get the impression that it’s open “to everyone without discrimination.” Not by a long shot.

Take Matthew 25:31-46—the parable about the sheep and the goats. On Judgment Day, “[The King] will separate the sheep from the goats, and he will place the sheep at his right hand, but the goats at the left.” He then invites the sheep to inherit the kingdom, but the goats are sent away “into eternal punishment.”

I don’t know about you, but that sounds discriminatory to me. And frightening as well. Thank Heaven for purgatory.

Christ also discriminates on several occasions in favor of wheat over weeds (or chaff): “Let both grow together until the harvest and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, ‘Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn’” (Mt.13:30).

In another parable, he tells his disciples: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a net which was thrown into the sea and gathered fish of every kind; when it was full, men…sorted the good into vessels but threw away the bad” (Mt. 13:47-48).

Lest there be any misunderstanding, Jesus then explains: “So it will be at the end of the age, the angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous, and throw them into the furnace of fire” (Mt. 13 49-50).

The meaning of these parables seems clear, yet Christ tells several other parables with the same message.  In one parable, he tells of five wise maidens who, having made proper preparations, are admitted to a wedding feast; and of five foolish maidens who, having failed to make sufficient preparations, are excluded from the feast.

In another parable about a wedding feast, a guest without a wedding garment is cast out the door: “Then the king said to the attendants, “Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness…For many are called, but few are chosen” (Mt. 22: 13-14).

Hollerich may say that the Kingdom of God is open “to everyone without discrimination,” but the Gospels seem to be saying something different.  Hollerich says, in effect, “come as you are,” but Jesus advises us to come wearing a wedding suit (i.e., in a state of grace.) Although well-acquainted with the merciful sayings of Jesus, Hollerich, and Francis seem to ignore his more judgmental warnings.

Quite obviously, the words of Jesus are an obstacle to the synodal plans of Hollerich, Francis, and others in the hierarchy.  Quite obviously, Jesus will have to go if the synodalists hope to achieve their goals.  Expect him to gradually disappear from the new radically inclusive Church.  Either that or expect him to be transformed to better fit the jolly theology of Cardinal Hollerich who tells us that “living in the footsteps of Christ means living well, it means enjoying life.”

In short, expect Jesus to be transformed into some kind of happy genderless hippie who utters woke platitudes and announces the good news that your sins aren’t really sins at all.  He just wants you to be happy doing whatever makes you feel good.

It is, of course, a formula for disaster. Canon Lawyer Rev. Gerald F. Murray calls it “a self-destructive Synod.”  He notes some of the signs of decline in the Church we have already seen under Francis: “lack of priestly vocations in the developed world; the steep decline in Mass attendance, baptisms, and Church weddings…the collapse of religious orders and the rejection of doctrinal fidelity.”

One doesn’t have to look far to find signs of doctrinal infidelity.  Here in the U.S., LGBTQ activist priest Fr. James Martin has asserted that LGBT Christians are not bound by the rule of chastity.  And in formerly Catholic Ireland, an elderly priest was recently suspended by his bishop for speaking of the sinfulness of certain sexual activities.

The priest, Fr. Sean Sheehy, said he was simply stating what was in the Gospel. But that’s the problem, isn’t it?  Fr. Murray says the Synod is “self-destructive.”  But it’s only self-destructive if the intention of the Synod is to preserve and strengthen the Church founded by Christ and revealed to Christians in the gospels.  If the intention of the Synod fathers (along with Pope Francis) is to replace the Church of Christ with a humanistic/modernist Church with all the supernatural elements purged out, then the Synod has thus far been a roaring success for them—if not for the rest of us.

It’s possible that the Synod organizers are genuinely well-intentioned.  Perhaps they think that by downplaying immorality and by convincing Catholics to “take it easy on yourself,” Catholics will shake off their burden of guilt and lead happier healthier lives.  But previous attempts at relaxing the rules while ignoring the supernatural dimension of life—such as the Sexual Revolution—eventually resulted in making life harder not easier.

Should the Synod fathers succeed in convincing Catholics that sin is not sinful, the destructive, addictive, and family-wrecking effects of sin will still be at work—both in individual lives and throughout society. The Synod leaders may succeed in bringing about a radical change in the Church, but because of their naivete about human nature, the changes will inexorably lead to widespread unhappiness and despair.

Biden Gives Predictably Mixed Signals On Iran~Biden: ‘We’re Gonna Free Iran’

BY ROBERT SPENCER

Was Old Joe Biden signaling yet another expensive project for the already weary and overburdened American taxpayer? We’ve already forked over billions upon billions to free Ukraine, and now there’s another captive nation whose liberation we have to bankroll? And while we’re busy underwriting all this freeing of everyone else, who will free the citizens of the United States from this woke tyranny that is progressively (well, that’s what progressives do — progress — but they aren’t progressing toward anything good) growing more assertive and authoritarian? That’s a question for Tuesday. Meanwhile, on the Thursday before his midterm come-to-judgment, Biden was using Iran the way he used cancer in the past: as the basis for empty promises that he hoped would get him some votes. “Don’t worry, we’re gonna free Iran,” he declared, no doubt to the surprise of Iranians everywhere.

NBC News reported Friday that Biden said at a rally for Rep. Mike Levin (D-More Socialism) at MiraCosta College near San Diego, “Don’t worry, we’re gonna free Iran. They’re gonna free themselves pretty soon.”

Well, which is it, Joe? Are they going to free themselves, or is the United States going to free them? Unfortunately, the Sage of Wilmington, as gnomic as ever, wasn’t about to explain. NBC notes that the so-called president “did not expand on the comment or mention any specific actions the United States might take.” It added, however, that Biden’s handlers announced the day before Biden vowed to free Iran that the administration was going to “try to remove Iran from the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women over its government’s stance on women’s rights, as well as its ongoing crackdown on the weekslong protests.”

Biden’s ambassador to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, appeared to be firmly on the side of “They’re gonna free themselves pretty soon” rather than “We’re gonna free Iran,” saying, “Change in Iran should only come from within Iran. But that does not absolve the world of the obligation to stand with the Iranian people as they protest for women, for life, and for freedom.” Sure. You mean like how Barack Obama ordered the CIA not to do anything to help the Green Movement in Iran in 2009 because he wanted to court Ayatollah Khamenei and get him to agree to a nuclear deal, the same nuclear deal that Donald Trump rightly called the worst deal that any American president had ever concluded about anything?

Much more recently, on Oct. 22, 2022, the Biden team’s Iran negotiator, Robert Malley, aroused the ire of all Iranians who want to see the end of the bloody Islamic regime in Iran when he tweeted, “Marchers in Washington and cities around the world are showing their support for the Iranian people, who continue to peacefully demonstrate for their government to respect their dignity and human rights.”

Related: That Insane Obama-Biden Iran Deal Is Getting Worse All the Time

The courageous Iranian freedom fighter Masih Alinejad tweeted the following day, “Time for @USEnvoyIran [that is, Malley] to go. By continually misrepresenting Iranian’s rejection of the Islamic Republic, he is hurting the US administration's standing among the people of Iran. As I told @JakeSullivan46 Iran’s regime which killed #MahsaAmini & dozens of teenagers is beyond reform.” It was clear, however, why Malley didn’t want to acknowledge that the Iranian protestors want to see the end of the Islamic Republic: Biden’s handlers still hope to do business with the mullahs and conclude a new nuclear deal with them. They’d rather see the regime that regularly proclaims “Death to America” in power than a group of revolutionaries who would, at least initially, be an unknown quantity.

No doubt fully aware that the Biden administration has what Facebook might term a “complicated” relationship with the Islamic Republic, Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi responded acidly to Biden’s confusing remarks, saying, “Iran was freed 43 years ago and is determined not to fall into your captivity.” Biden’s “we’re gonna free Iran/they’re gonna free themselves” statement, Raisi said, was “probably due to the absent-mindedness that he suffers from.” Coming from a man who won the nickname “The Butcher,” “absent-mindedness” was an unexpectedly gentle turn of phrase.

Given the Biden administration’s previous solicitude for the mullahs, granting them concession after concession to obtain a new nuke deal, it’s unlikely that “we’re gonna free Iran.” Ultimately that deal foundered on the Iranians’ continual demands, as well as the bad optics of making a deal with the mullahs while their own people are rising up against them. If the Islamic regime survives this uprising, however, the deal will certainly reappear, which will make it abundantly clear that when the garrulous old liar in the White House said “we’re gonna free Iran,” he meant “we’re not gonna free Iran.”

Pope FRANCIS praises Muslim Council of Elders, claims it is ‘committed to dispelling erroneous interpretations’ of Islam

With Russia’s war in Ukraine raging, Pope Francis joined Muslim, Christian, and Jewish leaders Friday in calling for the world’s great religions to work together for peace, telling an interfaith summit that religion must never be used to justify violence and that faith leaders must counter the “childlike” whims of the powerful to make war.

The naive Francis twice said: “As-salamu alaikum!,” not realizing that in Islamic law, only Muslims may use that greeting, when greeting fellow Muslims. It means “Peace be upon you,” and to unbelievers, a Muslim is supposed to say “Peace be upon those who are rightly guided.”

He also said: “I offer you cordial greetings and I express my prayerful hope that the peace of the Most High may descend upon each of you: upon you, who desire to foster reconciliation in order to avoid divisions and conflicts in Muslim communities; upon you, who see in extremism a danger that corrodes genuine religion; upon you, who are committed to dispelling erroneous interpretations that through violence misconstrue, exploit and do a disservice to religious belief.”

It would be refreshing if the Muslim Council of Elders actually bothered to explain how the interpretations of “extremists” are “erroneous,” so that their influence in Muslim communities could be combatted. But they don’t do this, and the pope doesn’t seem to notice or care.

“Pope Francis to Muslim Elders: God ‘Never Incites Hatred, Never Supports Violence,’” by Thomas D. Williams, Breitbart, November 5, 2022:

ROME — Pope Francis told Muslim elders in Bahrain Friday that God is the source of peace and he “never brings about war, never incites hatred, never supports violence.”

“I have come among you as a believer in God, as a brother and as a pilgrim of peace,” the pontiff told the Muslim Council of Elders, so that “we can journey together.”

In passing, the pope also addressed concerns of alleged human rights abuses in the majority Sunni Muslim nation, especially of the country’s minority Shiite Muslim community. In recent years many Shiite activists have been imprisoned or deported, and the largest Shiite opposition group has been outlawed.

“I offer … my prayerful hope that the peace of the Most High may descend upon each of you … who desire to foster reconciliation in order to avoid divisions and conflicts in Muslim communities,” Francis said.

“We, who believe in [God], are called to promote peace with tools of peace, such as encounter, patient negotiations and dialogue, which is the oxygen of peaceful coexistence,” he said.

“Peace is born of fraternity; it grows through the struggle against injustice and inequality; it is built by holding out a hand to others,” he declared, which is made possible “by eliminating the forms of inequality and discrimination that give rise to instability and hostility.”

The pope praised his hearers for seeing in extremism “a danger that corrodes genuine religion” and for their commitment “to dispelling erroneous interpretations that through violence misconstrue, exploit and do a disservice to religious belief.”

“We need to put a future of fraternity ahead of a past of antagonism, overcoming historical prejudices and misunderstandings in the name of the One who is the source of peace,” he asserted….

UK spending $8,000,000 a day, including $1,300,000 for Afghans alone, to house migrants in luxury hotels

Does anyone in the British government notice or care that the migrants are almost all young military-age males? Has no one at all pondered the implications of this? Clearly, an agenda is being implemented here, with the full cooperation of the British government, but no one seems to mind.

“Home Office staff scramble to book hotels for asylum seekers costing £7m-a-day as Tory backbenchers revolt over accommodation in tourist hotspots,” by Jessica Warren, Rory Tingle, Izzy Lyons, and Isabelle Stanley, Daily Mail, November 3, 2022 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

The Home Office was today continuing a frantic search for more hotel rooms for asylum seekers to relieve pressure at an overcrowded processing facility – as Tory backbenchers staged a revolt about the block-booking of prime locations in their constituencies.

Immigration minister Robert Jenrick said the Government was trying to transfer people from crisis-hit Manston in Kent ‘as quickly as possible’. But the move has sparked a backlash from backbench Conservatives angry about prime locations in their constituencies being block-booked.

Tory MPs who have complained about the use of hotels in their areas include David Davis (Haltemprice and Howden), Selaine Saxby (North Devon), Kate Kniveton (Burton), Jo Gideon (Stoke-on-Trent Central), Tom Hunt (Ipswich) and Katherine Fletcher (South Ribble)….

The Government is spending nearly £7million a day to house asylum seekers in hotels, it emerged last week. Out of this total, £5.6m is being spent on asylum seekers, while another £1.2m is being spent on bridging hotels for Afghans….

Four members of the RNLI were turfed out of the three-star hotel in Hoylake, Merseyside, without notice on Tuesday.

They came back to find their bags packed and left in the foyer after taking part in a hovercraft training session on nearby mudflats.

A source said: ‘The irony is off the scale. These migrants were picked up in the Channel by members of Border Force and volunteers from the RNLI. Now some of those volunteers, literally on a course to improve the ways they can save lives at sea, have been kicked out of their hotel by the very people they’re training to rescue.’…

It has also been revealed that four- and five-star hotels are being booked out for months at a time to house thousands of migrants….

American woman converts to Islam, trains all-female Islamic State battalion, gets 20 years prison

An American convert to Islam, Allison Fluke-Ekren, who trained an all-female Islamic State battalion, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Allison Fluke-Ekren was sentenced to 20 years in prison and 25 years of supervised release. The West has not begun to understand the danger and mindset of jihadists — men, women, and children alike. Wherever they are, they are on a mission. Fluke-Ekren’s time in prison will do nothing to change her jihad mission, for which she will likely make recruits while behind bars. From the Justice Department:

While residing in Syria, Fluke-Ekren told a witness about her desire to conduct an attack in the United States. To conduct the attack, Fluke-Ekren explained that she could go to a shopping mall in the United States, park a vehicle full of explosives in the basement or parking garage level of the structure, and detonate the explosives in the vehicle with a cell phone triggering device. Fluke-Ekren also spoke about learning how to make bombs and explosives. Fluke-Ekren further said that she considered any attack that did not kill a large number of individuals to be a waste of resources. Fluke-Ekren would hear about external attacks taking place in countries outside the United States and would comment that she wished the attack had occurred on U.S. soil instead.

She trained women and girls “on the use of automatic firing AK-47 assault rifles, grenades, and explosive suicide belts.” Fluke-Ekren’s own daughter’s testimony is consistent with that of ISIS brides, who are often just as committed to the cause of jihad as their male counterparts. Nevertheless, ISIS brides are frequently embraced by clueless Western bleeding hearts as victims, rather than recognized for being the victimizers that they all too often are. Cécile Rousseau, a pediatric psychiatrist at McGill University in Canada, who is described as “an expert on violent radicalization and extremism,” recently advised that women and children who are being detained in Islamic State (ISIS) camps should be brought back “home” to Canada “quickly.” She asserted that they would not pose a danger to society and that they needed “support.”  Unfortunately, she isn’t alone in perpetuating such rubbish.

The family of Allison Fluke-Ekren, pictured in this photo, looks harmless and loving. This is the type of show that moves gullible folk.

ISIS brides — who often indoctrinate their own children and others to murder infidels, rape, and do maximum harm — know all too well how to play Westerners for fools, pretending (when facing prison) that they are repentant victims in order to remain free if they manage to gain entry back into their country of origin. Yet they frequently continue to view these countries as enemy territory (dar al Harb). Gullible Leftists are unable to see past their own noses and own culture, so they fail to do the necessary research to understand the mental processes of jihadists.  Jihadists easily manipulate this naive mentality. For instance, the infamous ISIS bride Shamima Begum was widely defended as a reformed, repentant innocent who was manipulated by Islamic State men. She played the infidels well, until more came to light, showing that she maintained her support for the rape and murder of Yazidi sex slaves. Although she “apologized for joining the brutal terror group” and many believed her, she “finally admitted she was one of its (ISIS) ‘poster girls.'”

A New York Post article described Allison Fluke-Ekren’s dedication to the Islamic State:

The 42-year-old’s devotion to the terrorist cause was “off the charts,” according to a cooperating witness interviewed by the FBI. She spoke Arabic, Turkish and Spanish, and ever the teacher, was in charge of administering exams to new ISIS recruits to gauge their level of devotion to Sharia law, authorities said. She also translated speeches and articles from ISIS leaders into English. On a scale of one to 10, her radicalization and devotion to ISIS was considered “11 or 12,”

“American Woman Who Trained All-Female ISIS Battalion Sentenced To 20 Years In Prison,” by Trevor Schakhol, Daily Caller, November 1, 2022:

A federal court sentenced Kansas’ Allison Fluke-Ekren, 42, to 20 years imprisonment and 25 years of supervised release after she led a battalion of female ISIS fighters and planned an attack on a Midwest college campus, according to CBS News.

Fluke-Ekren pleaded guilty in June to materially supporting a foreign terrorist organization. She organized and led a battalion of female ISIS members married to ISIS fighters in Syria and trained 100 women and girls for fighting.

Authorities said Fluke-Ekren converted to Islam as a University of Kansas student and later used “different husbands to advocate for approval of her military training plans” by terrorists while traveling to Egypt and Libya before ending up in Syria, CBS News reported. She reportedly gave a paid U.S. foreign government source a plan to attack a Midwest college campus using explosives, and claimed late ISIS Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi had received it, but charging documents indicated the plan never materialized.

Fluke-Ekren spent time in the Iraqi city of Mosul as well, when it was under ISIS control, according to CBS News. She reportedly revealed a never-perpetrated car bomb plan to a government witness in Syria, believing “any attack that did not kill a large number of individuals to be a waste of resources.” (RELATED: The Islamic State Is Back – But Its Focus Has Shifted)

Fluke-Ekren’s daughter Leyla Ekren alleged in court Tuesday that her mother sexually and emotionally abused her when they were living in Syria, tortured her and her siblings….

Interfaith Dialogue: Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Plays the Pope Like a Cheap Fiddle

Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayyeb, who as grand imam of Cairo’s Al-Azhar is the foremost cleric in Sunni Islam, met up again with his pal Pope Francis in Bahrain on Friday and gave us one of the best episodes yet of their ongoing buddy-movie series. Whenever these two get together, they always serve up fresh steaming piles of cynical deception, Islamic proselytizing, and Leftist agitprop, and Friday’s episode was no different. In fact, it was one of the most outstanding examples yet of how Islamic leaders use interreligious dialogue to further their own ends, playing their naïve Christian counterparts for fools again and again.

At the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue, according to Church Militant, al-Tayyeb asserted that “what is said and promoted from time to time about the institution of war in Islam against the infidels is not true. Indeed, it is a real lie about Islam and the life of its prophet, even if this is affirmed by some followers of the same religion, a religion that is based on evidence and testimony, not on ambiguity and lies.” The “lie” that al-Tayyeb had in mind was the readily demonstrable proposition that Islam is the only major world religion that has a developed doctrine involving warfare against the subjugation of unbelievers. Despite statements to that effect from numerous Muslim clerics and the undeniable evidence of over 42,000 violent jihad attacks worldwide since 9/11, al-Tayyeb insisted that it was all a misunderstanding.

We have, of course, heard this song before, and al-Tayyeb was aware of that, telling the pope: “I hope you are not bored with the constant claims that Islam is a religion of peace and equality.” Pope Francis, of course, was just the opposite of bored. He can’t get enough of that sort of thing, as back in 2013 he himself declared, with imperviousness to facts and evidence that was truly breathtaking, that “authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence.”

Why is this so hard for Westerners to grasp? Well, it’s largely because it isn’t remotely true, but as far as al-Tayyeb was concerned, it was because Muslim scholars have been less than “diligent in letting Westerners know about true Islam.” He said that they should “continue to highlight what Islam encompasses in terms of lofty ideals, human brotherhood and cooperation, and other commonalities that the West and East agree on and welcome.” Yeah, good idea. Maybe he can explain where exactly the Qur’an calls for “human brotherhood and cooperation” with non-Muslims, whom the Islamic holy book calls “the most vile of created beings” (98:6).

Al-Tayyeb didn’t get close to dealing with that Qur’an verse and others like it. He was too busy playing to his audience, knowing that a doctrinaire Leftist such as Pope Francis would be thrilled to hear about how the Big Bad West could learn from the wise, benign, serene East: “Western culture should not be represented as the only civilized society and as the standard for judging other cultures. Any interference with other cultures is an abuse of power. The West needs the wisdom of the East, its religious and moral values upon which its people were raised, as well as its balanced view of man, the universe, and our Creator,” so as “not to be blinded by putting the ephemeral before the eternal.”

Related: Pope Francis: ‘Through My Racism, Through My Most Grievous Racism’

Church Militant notes that “while Pope Francis did not make any explicit reference to the Triune God or the Holy Bible, the highest-ranking cleric in the Sunni-Muslim world introduced and ended his address with an Islamic blessing and unapologetically quoted the Quran several times in his text.” At one point, al-Tayyeb asked: “What is the relationship between people according to the philosophy of the Qur’an? The only way to make this relationship work is knowledge, which is how Allah has established the interactions and relationships between people. The Qur’an says it clearly: ‘O humanity! Indeed, we created you from a male and a female and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may get to know one another. Surely, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous among you. Allah is truly All-Knowing, All-Aware,’ (Qur’an 49:13).”

Gee, that sounds great, but unfortunately, it is not even close to being the Qur’an’s last or only word on such matters. As I told Church Militant, Al-Tayyeb’s statements demonstrated yet again that for all too many Islamic leaders, if not all, interreligious dialogue is a vehicle for dawah, Islamic proselytizing, not genuine give-and-take. His copious quotations from the Qur’an, while Francis fastidiously refrained from quoting the Bible, show once again how one-sided this “dialogue” really is: the self-abnegation and deference are all on the Christian side, while the Muslim side retains a resolute self-awareness and doesn’t move toward the other side even an inch.

Meanwhile, al-Tayyeb’s exposition of Islam was highly inaccurate and misleading; among the many salient Qur’an passages he did not quote are “Fight them until there is no more persecution and religion is all for Allah” (8:39), which is an open-ended declaration of war against unbelievers, and “Muhammad is the apostle of Allah. Those who follow him are ruthless to unbelievers, merciful to one another” (48:29), which belies claims he made about Islam teaching that “peace and knowledge” should guide relationships between people. Even if he knew how deceptive al-Tayyeb was being, which he almost certainly did not, Francis wouldn’t have dreamed of contradicting him publicly or asking him any pointed questions. He willingly and happily played the useful idiot and dhimmi.

That’s the state of interfaith dialogue in this enlightened year 2022.

Iran begins refining 100,000 barrels per day of crude oil in Venezuela

In yet another strengthening of the red-green axis (that is, Marxism and Islam), Iran has begun processing nearly 100,000 barrels per day of its crude oil in socialist Venezuela as the two countries increasingly tighten relations. It’s happening fast: Last April, the two countries “announced a 20-year cooperation plan in the fields of oil, refining, petrochemicals, defense, tourism and culture, and agriculture,” with no information about the nature of “defense” cooperation. In May, Iran signed a $116 million contract with Venezuela to repair and expand its oil refinery. In June, “Maduro paid a visit to Tehran and signed a 20-year partnership agreement on cooperation with Iran in various fields.” Then in August, Venezuela provided Iran with 1,000,000 hectares of farmland for “cultivation.” One hectare is the size of two and a half football fields.

Last year, reports emerged that Venezuela was hosting Palestinian jihadists, including Hizballah and Fatah cells involved in money laundering, drug dealing, and jihad activity. In 2020, then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo warned an antiterrorism conference in Colombia about the Iranian proxy Hizballah’s presence in Venezuela, and an exiled former mayor, Antonio Ledezma, stated that Hizballah would participate in overseeing Venezuelan regional elections. Ledezma called Venezuela “a den for terrorist groups.” Venezuela also offered in February 2021 to supply natural gas to Mexico. By befriending Mexico, Iran and Hizballah will have a clear path to infiltrate the U.S., especially given the wide-open Southern border, which is thanks to Joe Biden and the Democrats.

“Iran starts refining its crude oil in Venezuela: Oil minister,”  Hellenic Shipping News Worldwide, October 18, 2022:

A first oil refinery processing Iranian crude oil outside of the country has started operations, according to a statement by the Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji who says the project in Venezuela will be replicated in other parts of the world.

Owji said on Sunday that Iran had started processing some 100,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude produced in Iranian oilfields in Venezuela’s El Palito refinery.

He said the project had come to fruition thanks to efforts by the Iranian Oil Ministry’s fuel department the NIORDC.

“This was an old dream that came true … this effort saw its starting point in Venezuela and plans are in place to replicate the project in other regions,” the minister was quoted as saying by the official IRNA news agency.

El Palito is located in central Venezuela. The NIORDC signed a $116 million contract with Venezuelan state oil firm PDVSA in May to repair and expand the refinery….

Uproar Continues in France Over Muslim Charged with Torture, Rape, Murder of 12-Year-old French Girl

Lola Daviet: France reeling after young girl, 12, found dead in box

In France, there is a continuing uproar over the torture, rape, and murder of 12-year-old Lola Daviet by an Algerian woman. “The suspect had boasted about selling body parts,” one investigator told Le Parisien. “Evidence suggests that the girl was taken into the basement of the flat, where she was tortured, and raped, before being strangled and having her throat cut.” The woman had then stuffed her body in a suitcase and dragged it to the street.

The murderer, who had arrived in France on a student visa, had stayed on after her visa expired and been ordered to leave the country. But she did not do so, and what has enraged the country is the failure of the French state to enforce its own expulsion order. Fewer than 6% of those living in France illegally in 2021 were expelled. The rest simply continue to live illegally, in France, some of them for many years, without the overworked police taking action.

More on the story of Lola Daviet, and the wave of Muslim crime that has spread across France, can be found here: “France is now more dangerous than Mexico,” by Gavin Mortimer, Spectator, October 20, 2022:

France is in shock after the brutal killing of a 12-year-old girl in Paris last Friday. The details of how young Lola met her death are too gruesome to describe, but the news that a 24-year-old woman has been charged with the crime has deepened the disbelief. The fact that the woman is an Algerian national, living in France illegally after her student visa expired, has caused an uproar.

For years the ruling class in France has rejected any link between immigration and crime, but slowly the omerta is cracking. Last week a book was published by Didier Lallement, until July the chief of police in Paris. Entitled The Necessary Order, the book is a damning indictment of the lawlessness endemic in the capital, where ‘one out of every two crimes are committed by a foreigner, often in an irregular situation’. This statistic was referenced by Le Pen in her question to Elisabeth Borne.

Those “foreigners” who commit half the crimes in Paris, consist almost entirely of maghrébins, North African Muslims, coming mainly from Algeria and Morocco.

Paris, or at least some of its suburbs, have long had a reputation for disorder, what the French describe as the ‘lost territories of the Republic.. So too has Marseille, where this year 28 people have been shot dead in drug-related killings, usually by men wielding assault rifles. Fifty-five percent of people arrested in Marseille are foreign, according to one government minister.

Those “lost territories of the Republic” are the no-go neighborhoods where an overwhelmingly Muslim population rejects the authority of the state, lives according to its own Islam-based code, and makes life dangerous for the French who still live in, or visit, these neighborhoods. The representatives of the French state now enter these no-go neighborhoods under police protection; the police themselves appear only in force.

In recent years, however, the crime and violence has spread to other towns and cities. Last month a global study ranked France as more dangerous than Mexico in terms of visitor safety, and one city was singled out for its chaos – Nantes. In 2004 Time Magazine described Nantes as the ‘most liveable [sic] city in France’ but it’s now considered more violent than Bogota in Colombia.

In 2016 there were 283 cases of reported rape, assault and harassment in Nantes while in 2021 there were 562, the period when its Socialist mayor took pride in welcoming migrants into the city. Increasingly, women in Nantes are scared to go out after dark and perhaps they’re wise, given the response of mayor Johanna Rolland to last month’s rape. The police, she said, ‘will never be able to prevent a street rape, however terrible…because it is not their job’.

If it is not at present the job of the police “to prevent a street rape,” then it should be made part of their job. Put more state money into expanding the numbers of police, providing them with weapons so they are not outgunned by the criminals, and encouraging a much more aggressive policy of preemptive policing, by making lightening raids into no-go neighborhoods to disrupt criminal networks, especially those that control the drug trade, by seizing both drug hideouts and factories, and malefactors. Pay for more prosecutors and judges, to ensure that sentences are swift.

According to official figures released this month, 41 per cent of people arrested this year in Nantes are foreign. This is a statistic that not even the Socialist city council can duck. One of the deputy mayors, Pascal Bolo, admitted recently: ‘I am not saying that immigration equals delinquency, but too many of these young people are behind the attacks.’

These “foreign” people, these “young people” who are “behind the attacks,” are North Africans. Everyone in Nantes knows it, but it still cannot be said aloud. To specify that would make one vulnerable to charges of “Islamophobia” and, even more idiotically, “racism.” But many more people, following the examples of Eric Zemmour and Marine Le Pen, are now willing to publicly identify the criminals as Muslims.

Violent crime and sexual assaults are also rising fast in Paris, up 30 per cent this year. There are some arrondissements where life is still rosy, but these districts tend to be where the political, cultural and media elite congregate. Elsewhere, life in the capital can be wretched, usually in the working-class districts like those where Lola lived.

The political and media elites of France live in the high-rent areas of Paris — and other cities — sheltered from the wave of Muslim crime that the rest of the population must endure. It has taken those cosseted elites a long time to recognize the problem, but now it has become impossible to avoid talking about it.

Didier Lallement’s prognosis is bleak. Unless France’s uncontrolled immigration is brought under control, he fears the Republic will before long experience a confrontation that will be ‘intense and destructive’.

More than just an “intense and destructive” confrontation, Lallemant has predicted, just like Pierre Bonchand, the former director of the French Directorate-General for External Security (DGSE), a “civil war” in France, pitting Muslims against the indigenous French.

A new immigration bill will be tabled in January, one which the Interior Minister, Gérald Darmanin, promises will address the crisis. But his tough-talking was undermined last month by his president, who said that the best solution to the migrant crisis is to send them to the countryside to repopulate the ageing [sic] villages and towns.

Marine Le Pen retorted that the only place they should be sent is ‘back home.’

The best solution to the migrant – read “Muslim migrant” – crisis, is not to spread Muslims all over rural France, where they will simply multiply, and make life hell for the local French of modest means, but to end Muslim immigration, to immediately enforce all expulsion orders for those in the country illegally, and to pass legislation to make sure that, after serving their sentences, “foreign” (Muslim) criminals are immediately sent back to their countries of origin.

It will come to that. But how much longer will the French have to wait for their own government to adopt policies so sensible and so politically incorrect?

Kansas City: Muslim who worked for Defense Department lied about his contacts with ISIS

The Defense Department was happy to hire Mohammad Rafi Mohammadi. Doing so proved they weren’t “Islamophobic.” The Defense Department would never dream of hiring an opponent of jihad violence and Sharia oppression of women. That would be “Islamophobic” in their eyes, and the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) would be all over it, with lavish media coverage. And so this happens, and it will get hardly any media coverage at all.

“Kansas City man who worked for DoD lied about contacts with ISIS recruiters: Authorities,” by Bill Lukitsch, Kansas City Star, October 22, 2022:

A Kansas City area man once employed under contract as a translator in Afghanistan for the U.S. Department of Defense is accused of lying about his contacts with two recruiters aligned with the ISIS group that was responsible for the bombing of Kabul’s airport in August 2021, which killed 13 American service members.

Mohammad Rafi Mohammadi was arrested Sunday in Kansas City as part of an investigation led by the FBI’s local field office. He faces one charge in the U.S. District of Kansas of making false statements in reference to obtaining his security clearance, a crime that carries a maximum penalty of five years in federal prison.

According to an affidavit filed in the case by an FBI agent, Mohammadi sought that clearance for work as a contract linguist, and answered a question falsely on a federal form in August 2019. On that document, Mohammadi denied ever associating “with anyone involved in activities to further terrorism,” court papers say.

Before then, the FBI and federal prosecutors allege Mohammadi sought to provide support for two people who were actively seeking to recruit and train members of ISIS-K, a division of the terrorist organization centered in Afghanistan’s Khorasan province.

Investigators based their conclusions in part on a review of Mohammadi’s public Facebook posts, social media messages, and statements he allegedly made to a confidential informant in 2021. Mohammadi was also interviewed by the FBI in early October.

Among the evidence referenced in support of the criminal charge were records obtained from Western Union that allegedly show Mohammadi wired $2,000 from a branch in Lenexa to a person in Afghanistan with the aim of having $400 given to an ISIS-K recruiter, identified as Individual #1, in May 2018. Authorities allege Mohammadi also shared Facebook posts around the time concerning that person’s arrest by Afghani national security forces….

What Iranian Schools Inculcate

Can you guess what is glorified from an early age?

BY HUGH FITZGERALD

SEE: https://www.frontpagemag.com/what-iranian-schools-inculcate/;

Republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, & research purposes.

The Institute for Moderating Peace and Cultural Tolerance in the Middle East, known as IMPACT-se, has just issued a study of the Iranian curriculum and its schoolbooks. It makes for instructive – and frightening — reading. Its findings are reported on here: “Iranian students are also protesting against oppressive educations -opinion,” by Marcus Sheff, Jerusalem Post, October 14, 2022:

In the wake of Mahsa Amini’s death, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will be disappointed that Iranian students are destroying textbooks that carry his image, throwing the pictures into the garbage and trampling them. His disappointment will be particularly acute, as Iran has recently been targeting girls in textbooks by increasing the amount of material celebrating female martyrs.…

Iranian students, especially at the university level, have joined in the nationwide protests, but have also engaged in their own protests in schools by ripping out photographs of the Supreme Leader from their textbooks. It’s their version of shouting “Death to the Dictator!” They are not impressed with the increased coverage of girls and women in the textbooks, which consists of adding material not about girls and women in general, nor about those who are scientists or artists or doctors or lawyers, but is limited to stories about female “martyrs” who died while fighting enemies of the Islamic Republic. These include Houthi girls and women who fought Sunni Muslims in Yemen, girls and women in Lebanon whose husbands were Hezbollah fighters, and who themselves also waged war not just on Israelis, but also on both Lebanese Christians and Sunni Muslims, and female fighters who fought with Shi’a militia in Iraq against Sunni Muslims. That is the only favorable coverage of females that is allowed; any other roles they might have excelled in – as teachers, doctors, artists, professors, researchers – are ignored in the schoolbooks.

From an early age, Iranian children are encouraged to glorify jihad and violence, and to emulate “martyrs.” They are taught that participation in violent jihad against the Infidels – a group which includes all those who oppose the Iranian Revolution, including Sunni Muslims — is the highest and best use of their lives. Such fanaticism is inculcated in young children, and then continues all through their school years, until college.

The United States is the primary antagonist in the ongoing conflict between Islam and imperialism, leading to the prevalence of chants of “Death to America,” and “The Big Satan.” Alongside calls for “Death to Israel,” known in Iran as the “little satan” and the celebration of Hamas rocket fire raining down on the Jewish state, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini’s instruction that “Israel must be wiped out” now takes on a practical dimension, explaining that Israel’s destruction is achievable with reasonable effort and investment. In fact, the destruction of Israel is portrayed as a key condition for the world’s salvation.

The disappearance of Israel is taught in Iranian schools as a condition precedent to the world achieving salvation, which can only happen when the Iranian Shi’a version of Islam is accepted everywhere, by Sunni Muslims and non-Muslims alike. Once Israel is no more, the Hidden Imam can re-emerge as the Mahdi, and bring salvation to the world.

The pursuit of Iranian hegemony in the Arab Middle East is a vital goal: students learn that the world is divided between followers of Iran’s global revolution and those infidels who oppose it. They are taught that foreign militia members are now part of the Iranian regime. Our report pointed out that this likely means the regime may be inclined to use Arab militias to crush Iranian protesters, a fact which, sadly, was precisely what came to fruition. For the Iranian curriculum, enemies – Iranians and non-Iranians – are those who oppose the Khomeini revolution and friends – Iranians and foreign militiamen – are those who follow the path of the revolution.

Just as Muslims are taught to see the world as uncompromisingly divided between Muslims and Unbelievers, between Dar al-Islam and Dar al-Harb, Shi’a Iran teaches its young that there is an even more important division, and the only meaningful one, which is that between those who support Shi’a Islam and the Iranian Revolution, and all those – Infidel or Muslim – who oppose it. The Iranian revolution welcomes the support of its Arab allies and proxies, including the Houthis in Yemen, the Kataib Hezbollah militias in Iraq, the Alawites of Syria, and Hezbollah in Lebanon. In suppressing the current protestors in Iran, Tehran has been using some Arab militia members to help suppress the protesters, believing the Arabs are more willing to use live fire; the government fears that some Iranian troops, out of sympathy with their fellow Persians, might be more reluctant to inflict such violence on their fellow Persians. Hence the decision to make limited use of Arab militias to help suppress the protests.

The Iranian government has taken note of the protesters shouting against the Iranian regime’s expenditure of money, men, and materiel, in conflicts in Arab states. The protesters’ slogans include, pointedly, “Death to Palestine!” and “Not Gaza, Not Lebanon, I Give My Life for Iran!” That is why the regime has added to its curriculum, and to its schoolbooks, material justifying Iran’s expensive wars in Arab lands (Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon), claiming their successful outcome will enhance Iran’s security, and what’s more, will allow Iran to control much of the world’s energy supply that is shipped through the Gulf, by controlling the Strait of Hormuz and even the Suez Canal. That last claim is hard to take, for it is unclear how Iran could “control” the Suez Canal, unless Iran somehow managed to promote a successful coup against El-Sisi and the installation in Egypt of a Muslim Brotherhood government much more favorable to Iran.

In the encouragement of political subversion of neighboring Arab states, there is a clear explanation as to whom this is directed against. Bahrain is described as illegitimate. Advocacy is dedicated to uprisings against puppet governments in the Middle East in the hopes of advancing what the textbooks laud as the school of Hajj Qassem Soleimani.

Bahrain is singled out by Iran for condemnation as “illegitimate” because Bahrain’s ruler is Sunni, but the Bahraini population is 70% Shi’a; Iran has already been sending arms to Shi’a in Bahrain, in the hopes of a successful uprising but so far the Bahraini government, aided by both Saudi and Pakistani Sunni troops, has crushed all incipient attempts at rebellion Saudi Arabia is also depicted by Teheran as an enemy of Iran, which it is, because Iran has been encouraging attacks by its proxy Houthis, using drones and missiles, on Saudi oil installations and airbases, and as a “puppet” of the Great Satan, which it clearly is not, as the latest Saudi-American contretemps over cuts to oil production makes clear.

THIS YEAR, the Iranian curriculum includes passages commemorating the martyrdom of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) late terror master Soleimani, while Iraqi-Iranian terror leader Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis is depicted as a model martyr of the Islamic World in a passage that is part of an entire chapter focused on exporting Iran’s revolution.

The Iranian curriculum celebrates two terror masters who were killed by the Americans — the IRGC’s head, Qassem Soleimani, and another terror leader, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, each of them “the very model of a modern major terrorist” (with apologies to Gilbert and Sullivan). These are the people – not scientists or artists – whom Iranian children are being taught to admire and to emulate.

Iran’s militia doctrine and, implicitly, Iran-induced turmoil in places such as Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and Gaza, are explained to students as contributing to the preservation of Iran’s internal security. The act of jihad is integral for defending Iran from invaders, fighting Iranian insurgents and supporting militias against the rival regional powers of Saudi Arabia and Israel.

Iranian students are told that Iran’s role In supporting proxies and a allies in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and Gaza is a way to keep enemies from wreaking chaos and undermining the regime in Iran itself; those enemies are being fought against, instead, far from Iran. If Iran is to be free from invaders, it has to keep its foreign enemies off-balance as, for example, the Iran-backed Houthis do to Saudi-backed forces in Yemen, or as Hezbollah, directed by Tehran, has achieved through constant threats to northern Israel.

Interestingly, the curriculum expresses admiration for the Muslim Brotherhood and its founder, Hassan Al-Banna, while conspiracy theories abound, including a tenth-grade textbook on “Defense Preparation” teaching the false claim that Saudi Arabia and the US created ISIS to sabotage Iran.

The initial surprise over Shi’a Iran praising the Uber-Sunni Muslim brotherhood should have dissipated by now. The Muslim Brotherhood is admired for the fanaticism of its members, if not for the exact nature of its ideology (ideologically the MB and the Islamic Republic are not on the same page); Iran’s hatred of Egypt’s El-Sisi is so great that it is willing to support his regime’s greatest threat, the MB. Furthermore, the Gaza branch of the MB, Hamas, is supported by Iran because of the excellent work it has done in killing so many Israeli civilians, and thereby terrorizing many more. Presumably that allows Iran to consider the MB, and its founder Hassan al-Banna, as not enemies but ideological brothers, who even if they remain Sunni Muslims are acting just as the Supreme Leader would have them.

Familiar antisemitic tropes are a feature of the Iranian curriculum, including that Jews control the media, and that Jewish tribes have conspired and collaborated with enemies of Islam. Iran’s Arab neighbors are portrayed as servants of Jewish and colonial interests. Wars in the region are driven by Zionist aims to incite strife among Muslims, and Arab leaders are portrayed as ignorant and extremist Muslims sought out by America, Israel and the West to slander Islam. Jews and Sunni Muslims are, it is taught, working together to operate against all Shiites. Similarly, Jews are depicted as the enemies of the nascent Islamic nation and government.

The belief that “Jews control the media” must be a bit hard to swallow, even for many Iranians who have access to the Internet, given the consistently critical treatment of Israel in the world’s mainstream media, but it fits the narrative that the antisemitic ayatollahs want to present to the world. The Arabs opposed to Iran, such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain, do so not because they are being manipulated by the diabolically clever Israelis, but because they have suffered from Iran’s aggression. The Saudis and Emiratis don’t like having the Iran-backed Houthis shooting missiles and drones at their oil installations, and the Sunni ruler of Bahrain doesn’t like Iranian agents whipping up the 70% of the Bahraini population that is Shi’a against his rule. Israel had nothing to do with the understandably hostile reaction of Arab states to Iran’s behavior.

The characteristics of Iran’s educational system must be factored into any assessment of the regime’s future plans and intentions. The curriculum provides us with a blueprint for the regime’s goals, values and worldview. In 2016, we argued that the curriculum was then limited in its power to widely influence students due to overly mystical dimensions, but that it would nevertheless be welcomed by hard-core loyalists. The curriculum has changed and now poses a very direct threat that must be taken seriously.

Apparently there is less of what Marcus Sheff describes as “mystical dimensions” to the current curriculum. I assume this means less attention to Shi’a theological doctrine, such as the re-emergence at the End of Time of the Hidden Imam as the Mahdi, which will come only after Israel disappears, and to other aspects of Twelver Shi’a chiliasm, and more about concrete ways to increase students’ support for Shia Islam hatred for the those opposed to the Iranian Revolution.

The Iranian regime no longer seeks unanimous support among its citizens. After three large-scale protests in 2009, 2017, and 2019, the regime’s rulers have felt the ground shifting under its feet, and want to shore up support among not all Iranians – now recognized to be an impossible task — but among a sufficient number of them. As the IMPACT-se report says, they want to shore up support among “enough clerics, military commanders, soldiers, scientists, technicians and other elements of Iranian society vital to the revolution.” Unfortunately for the regime, the current protests, that have now entered their second month and show no signs of abating, suggest that it’s too late; that too many Iranians, especially young adults, are deeply disaffected and not inclined to make peace with the regime.

Meanwhile, as the IMPACT-se report on Iranian schoolbooks and curricula makes clear, the regime is brainwashing a new generation of students, hoping that this time the effects will not be undone by disaffected parents and subversive websites. The contents of those schoolbooks are appalling. They describe, and proscribe, a world divided uncompromisingly between supporters of the Iranian Revolution, and everyone else, including Sunni Muslims. These books teach jihad and violence to children, beginning in the first grade. The texts insist that only after Israel disappears will the Hidden Imam reappear as the Mahdi, and bring salvation to the world. What kind of peace is possible with a regime that teaches such things, and what kind of Iran deal would ever be kept by such a country, its rulers in thrall to such crazed beliefs?

Iran: Christian activist forced to strip, says Islamic regime uses sexual violence against female protestors

'We Have Lost Patience, Want Revolution' Says Iranian Activist Mary Mohammadi; Interview

THE BRAVEST WOMAN IN IRAN

The idea is to humiliate and degrade them, and by raping them, to deny them a place in paradise, for in Islam it is entirely the woman’s responsibility to prevent a man from being tempted (hence the hijab, chador, niqab, burqa), and if he is tempted anyway, it’s her fault.

“Exclusive: ‘Was forced to strip, govt uses sexual violence against female protesters,’ says Iranian Christian activist,” by Annu Kaushik, Firstpost, October 17, 2022:

In 2020, Mary Mohammadi was taken to a detention center near Iran’s capital Tehran. Officials told her that her hair was visible.

In the basement of the all-female detention center, Mary was forced to strip.

“If my hair is a problem, is it not a problem to force me to take off all my clothes? Is this Islamic?,” Mary told Firstpost in an exclusive conversation.

The incident was part of the sexual violence that the regime has been using to suppress female protesters and activists, Mary said.

“During protests, security personnel touch female demonstrators inappropriately. They want to make women fearful of stepping out,” she said.

24-year-old Mary has been on the radar of Iranian officials for several reasons. Born to a Muslim family, she converted to Christianity in 2017.

Christian converts and other religious minorities like the Bahais are not recognised in Iran.

Over the last few years, Mary has faced persecution from the authorities in the form of arrests and interrogations due to her faith as well as activism.

The personnel who transferred her to the detention center in 2020 belonged to the morality police which is currently in the eye of the storm due to the death of Mahsa Amini which has triggered nationwide protests in Iran.

But it’s not just the morality police who target women for not wearing the mandatory hijab or a head scarf or wearing it improperly.

According to Mary “radical Muslims do it too.”

In 2019, Mary was on a bus in Tehran. It was a hot day and she had taken off her hijab. Suddenly a fully veiled woman approached Mary and asked her to cover her hair.

“When I refused, an argument ensued during which the woman attacked me & my face was left bloodied,” Mary said.

The activist somehow managed to take the woman to the police station. According to Mary, the officers dissuaded her from filing a complaint and even threatened her with arrest.

“They (police) were very kind to that woman. They let her go at 10 pm but kept me in custody till 3 am,” she added.

“Radical Muslims can even attack minorities in public because the regime is behind them,

“Islamic hijab is mandatory in Iran even for non-Muslims. I am a Christian but I must wear hijab,” she said.

Mary’s activism and faith also took a personal toll. Without giving any reason, her university barred her from appearing in exams.

But what was more hurtful for Mary was the treatment meted out to her by a former employer who was also a close friend.

“The gymnast training center where I worked was shut down during the COVID lockdown. I kept asking my employers when I can return and they told me and they are still closed,” Mary said.

One day, the activist turned up at the center unannounced and saw that it was fully operational.

Mary was not given her job back and believes that her employer and the university faced pressure from the authorities.

Constant threats that Mary said were from the authorities forced her to flee Iran in February 2022. The activist who is currently living in the US told Firstpost that in her home country security forces “continue to use sexual violence in the ongoing protests.”…

Zelensky backs Saudis after Biden condemns Saudis as pro-Russia, despite Biden giving Ukraine billions in weapons

Saudi King’s Grandson Threatens Joe Biden With Jihad

Saudi King Abdulaziz’s grandson sharply rebuked Joe Biden for threatening to retaliate against OPEC+ oil production cuts. He reminded President Biden that Saudi Arabia was formed through jihad and martyrdom.  It appears that President Biden is dangerously close to losing Saudi Arabia as a U.S. ally.

Just when it looks as if it couldn’t get any worse for Biden’s handlers, it has finally emerged why Saudi Arabia decided to cut back its oil supply to America: “In August, the Saudis had planned to push OPEC+ to raise oil production by 500,000 barrels a day in an effort to please Mr. Biden, but Prince Mohammed ordered the increase lowered to a token 100,000 barrels a day after the Biden visit, the people inside the Saudi government said.”

Biden needs to save taxpayer dollars that are wasted on his travels, and stay hidden away.

In addition, even as Biden stands accused of trying to lead America to nuclear war over Ukraine, Zelensky appears to have sided with the Saudis. Zelensky has also “spoken to and ‘thanked’ Mohammed bin Salman for aiding Ukraine,” with $400 million in humanitarian aid. Compare that to the billions from American taxpayers. Another international slap in the face to Biden.

Recall that under Donald Trump, America had made significant progress toward calming tensions in the Middle East via the Abraham Accords. Trump also managed to deter Putin.

“Zelensky Backs Saudi Arabia After Joe Biden Condemned Riyadh as Pro-Russia,” by Frances Martel, Breitbart, October 17, 2022:

Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman pronounced himself “astonished” by the barrage of attacks from the Biden White House last week accusing Riyadh of siding with Russia in the eight-year-old invasion of Ukraine, citing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s kind words towards the country as contradicting Washington.

Tensions between leftist President Joe Biden and the monarchy of Saudi Arabia had been increasing for months, even in the face of Biden visiting Riyadh, greeting Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and effectively returning Saudi Arabia to polite geopolitical society after a diplomatic freeze followed by the gruesome murder of Islamist Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi at the hands of Saudi embassy employees….

“In August, the Saudis had planned to push OPEC+ to raise oil production by 500,000 barrels a day in an effort to please Mr. Biden,” the newspaper claimed, “but Prince Mohammed ordered the increase lowered to a token 100,000 barrels a day after the Biden visit, the people inside the Saudi government said.”

“Look, it’s clear that OPEC+ is aligning with Russia with today’s announcement,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said following the early October production cut announcement….

The Saudi government expressed shock throughout the past week in response to the accusations, noting that it had maintained communications with Ukraine and kept neutral in the European conflict.

A week before the OPEC production cut, both the governments of Russia and Ukraine were thanking Mohammed bin Salman for his alleged role in brokering a prison swap that released hundreds of soldiers on both sides – and Americans who were captured fighting for Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appeared to take the Saudis’ side in the conflict, despite billions in military funding from Biden, with an announcement on Friday that he had spoken to and “thanked” Mohammed bin Salman for aiding Ukraine….

Mehdi Hasan is a hate-filled far-Left MSNBC host who espouses fashionable Big Lies such as the claim that “white supremacy is now a key ideology of the Republican Party” and “the far-right domestic terror threat is more dangerous than even Al Qaeda after 9/11.”

Back in 2009, Hasan, a Shi’ite, said of atheists: “In this respect, the Koran describes the atheist as cattle. As cattle of those who grow the crops and do not stop and wonder about this world.” The Qur’an does indeed say: “Already we have created many of the jinn and mankind for Gehenna, having hearts with which they do not understand, and having eyes with which they do not see, and having ears with which they do not hear. They are like cattle, no, they are worse. These are the neglectful.” (7:179)

“For Mehdi Hasan, Two Antisemitic Wrongs Make Ilhan Omar Right,” by David Litman, CAMERA, October 17, 2022:

On October 16, MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan spoke with Congresswoman Ilhan Omar on a number of subjects, ending with a question about antisemitism. Given Hasan’s history, it is  unsurprising that the question exuded bad faith. To begin, he wields discussions of antisemitism as a weapon for his own partisan interests. Then, he seeks to downplay Omar’s antisemitism as just “criticism of Israel.”

Here is Hasan’s question in full:

“You have been demonized in recent years as an antisemite by many, especially by Donald Trump and the GOP over your criticisms of Israel and of Jewish groups’ support of Israel, some of which you have regretted and apologized for, that you should have been more careful with some of your language in the past. And yet this morning, former President Trump tweeted, and I quote, ‘Jews need to get their act together and appreciate what they have in Israel before it’s too late.’ This coming from the guy who said you should’ve resigned from Congress for your comments. What do you make of Trump’s post this morning? What do you think the right would be saying if you or Rashida Tlaib had threatened American Jews, which of course I know you wouldn’t have done?”

Partisan Exploitation of Antisemitic Incidents

Begin with the partisanship. From the start, his segment is not one of concern about antisemitism, but instead a rather blatant employment of political whataboutery. Hasan immediately declares that the concern about Omar’s history of antisemitism came “especially” from “Donald Trump and the GOP.” Hasan also tells us Omar, the “progressive” member of the Squad, has regretted her words, and that he “knows [Omar] wouldn’t have” “threatened American Jews” like Trump did. After all, the accusations of antisemitism against her came from that guy who said antisemitic things and “who said [Omar] should’ve resigned from Congress.”

Hasan seems to be suggesting that because  Trump said antisemitic things himself, the accusations against Omar aren’t valid. It’s only a slightly more sophisticated version of the childish attempt to justify one’s actions by suggesting two wrongs make a right.

Of course, “Trump and the GOP” weren’t the only ones condemning Omar’s past remarks, and whatever their faults, they obviously do not reflect on  other individuals and political groups condemning Omar. The Democratic leadership denounced  her antisemitism, as have Jewish Democrats. The Anti-Defamation League, headed by the progressive Jonathan Greenblatt, has also recoiled from Omar’s obvious anti-Jewish animus….

Hasan’s tactic of trying to portray antisemitism as “criticism of Israel” fits together well with his partisan habits.

Any sensible definition of antisemitism will not be blind to the employment of classic antisemitic tropes used against the world’s only Jewish state. When Omar tweets that “Israel has hypnotized the world,” that’s playing on the classic tropes of Jewish power manipulating the media and governments.

When Omar tweets “It’s all about the Benjamins baby” to suggest that supporters of Israel are only doing it because of money, and then specifically mentions the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, that’s not criticism of Israel either. That’s employing the monied Jew and dual loyalty tropes against American Jews and their allies….

A lawmaker in Turkey, which severely represses religious minorities, says ‘Islamophobia’ and racism peaking in Europe

Accompanying this Daily Sabah story is a photo from the Cologne Central Mosque in Germany. The place is packed, and it’s clearly a grand structure. It was completed in 2017. Now: where in Turkey have Christians been allowed to build a comparably large and imposing church in the last five years? Ten? Twenty? In Turkey, religious minority populations suffer severe restrictions of their rights. Turkish authorities don’t allow the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople to have any legal identity, and consequently, it can’t own any property, even its own churches. Numerous Christian properties have been confiscated.

But Çağatay Kılıç, acknowledging none of this, would have us believe that the real place where religious minorities are having a hard time is in Europe, where Muslim migrants are streaming in and going on welfare, getting everything provided for them by the state. And people will fall for it.

“Racism in Europe has reached the peak: Senior Turkish lawmaker,” by Betül Usta, Daily Sabah, October 17, 2022:

Racism and discrimination against religious identities in Europe have reached a peak, the head of Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Commission Çağatay Kılıç said Monday.

Noting that the commission follows political and social developments closely, Kılıç said that the rise of far-right parties and racist approaches in Italy, the United Kingdom, France, Austria, Switzerland and some Balkan countries is worrying….

“Islamophobia comes first among racism. Racism against religion is at its peak in Germany. We understand this from the attacks on mosques. There are disrespects such as drawing a swastika and leaving a pig’s head. Considering the public opinion polls, the far-right AFD is the first party in the German state of Brandenburg. Racism is a contagious element, and when it is infected, it evolves into events that will harm social life,” he warned, underlining that members of different religions are excluded from political decision-making processes.

“There are those in Europe who say, ‘We need to restrict the movement and living space of Muslims unless they adapt to us.’ This contradicts the basic values that Europe claims and puts forward,” he added.

He highlighted that a report on Islamophobia was published in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe last week and added: “A human being is an entity with thoughts, feelings, beliefs and social networks. If a person is not allowed to live with these characteristics, this person’s fundamental rights and freedoms are taken away from them.”…

Anti-Muslim attitudes are widespread in Germany, according to a recent study conducted by the Expert Council on Integration and Migration (SVR).

Nearly 48% of respondents said they believe “Islam is not compatible with German society,” while 29% suggested restricting the practice of Islam in the country.

“Negative attitudes towards Islam are widespread in all groups examined; people with and without a migration background,” the researchers said in their report….

Saudi prince threatens West with ‘jihad and martyrdom’

“This is a private individual who made a personal statement that has nothing to do with the state.”

Of course. But he is one among many who share these views.

“Saudi cousin of Mohammed bin Salman threatens West with ‘jihad and martyrdom,'” Middle East Eye, October 16, 2022:

A cousin of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has issued a violent threat against the West amid souring relations over a decision by Opec+ to cut oil production.

In a message “to the West”, Prince Saud al-Shaalan is seen in a video circulating on social media saying “anybody who challenges the existence of this kingdom, we are all projects of jihad and martyrdom”. The prince is heard issuing his warning in English and French.

Saud al-Shaalan is a tribal leader and grandson of King Abdulaziz, the founder of Saudi Arabia, according to Saudi human rights advocate Abdullah Alaoudh.

His intervention comes as relations between the United States and Saudi Arabia have hit a nadir. With energy prices rising following Russia’s February invasion of Ukraine, Washington has lobbied members of the Opec+ oil cartel, particularly Saudi Arabia, to increase production….

Alaoudh, who belongs to the Democracy in the Arab World Now group set up by Khashoggi, said on Twitter that Saud al-Shaalan’s video showed “a direct cousin” of Mohammed bin Salman threatening the West with “jihad and martyrdom”.

However, Saudi lobbyist Ali Shihabi said the prince was a minor royal with no official role.

“This is a private individual who made a personal statement that has nothing to do with the state,” he tweeted.

A Hostile Takeover of the Catholic Church?

Does the Synod have a sinister purpose?

BY WILLIAM KILPATRICK

SEE: https://www.frontpagemag.com/a-hostile-takeover-of-the-catholic-church/;

Republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, & research purposes.

In a recent interview on EWTN’s The World OverCardinal Gerhard Muller, the former head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, warned that the Synod on Synodality was engaged in a “hostile takeover of the Church.”

If you’re not sure what “synodality “means, don’t feel bad, very few know what the Synod of Synodality is all about.  As best as I can tell, it’s a multi-year process consisting of numerous meetings and consultations which will culminate in the Synod of Bishops next year in Rome.  It has to do with “walking together,” listening to one another, and gathering opinions from the faithful and not-so-faithful.

They haven’t gotten around yet to ask my opinion, so I’ll offer it here in case they never do.

My opinion?  I agree with Cardinal Muller that the Synod is intended to be a “hostile takeover” of the Church.  The first giveaway is the vagueness of it all.  It’s about “listening to the Holy Spirit,” “listening to everybody,” and “not excluding anyone.” It’s the kind of language an HR department uses when it wants employees to think that their opinions are highly valued.

When the Synodal leaders do get more explicit, it only reinforces Cardinal Muller’s charge of a takeover.  In speaking of divorced and remarried Catholics receiving Communion, or same-sex couples receiving a blessing, Cardinal Mario Grech, the Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops, said they should be listened to because “this [might] be an opportunity for the Church to listen to the Holy Spirit speaking through them also.”

Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, the Realtor General for the Synod (i.e., the man in charge) seems to already know what the Holy Spirit will say about these issues.  Earlier this year, he said that the Church’s teaching on homosexuality is “no longer correct.”  “It’s about time,” he said, “we did a fundamental revision of the doctrine here.”

Of course, if the Synod can revise one doctrine, what’s to prevent it from revising a few more?  Or even two dozen?  There are all sorts of pressure groups within the Church who favor changes to doctrine—changes that will make them feel more comfortable but may cause enormous damage to the Church.

To get an idea of how the synodal way will likely proceed, it’s useful to consider an example of another “hostile takeover.”

About five years ago, I wrote a piece about the “hijacking” of the Catholic-Muslim dialogue in America by Islamists.  Perhaps “hijacking” was too strong a word.  “Influence operation” might have been more accurate.  In any event, the initial goal of the dialogue—to learn more about each other’s religion—shifted, in the words of one Catholic official, to “advocacy” for Muslims.

Thus, Anthony Cirelli, associate director of the USCCB’s Secretariat for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs told Catholic News Service that “there is an “urgency to engage more in a kind of advocacy and policy in support of the Muslim community.”  He added that U.S. bishops are “coming to stand with our Muslim colleagues…in trying to change the negative narrative surrounding Muslims in our popular media.”

In short, instead of Catholics learning more about Islam, the aim of the dialogues shifted to Catholics helping Muslims to improve their image.  The “urgency” was not to understand Islam, but to “stand with our Muslim colleagues…”  Against what?  Against a supposed tsunami of “Islamophobia.”

But there was very little evidence of any real Islamophobia.  Much of the data on anti-Muslim attacks was based on false reports.  Moreover, Muslim-on-Muslim attacks (which are relatively frequent) were counted as instances of “Islamophobia.”  And the media, far from pushing a false negative narrative about Islam, had instead painted a false positive image—namely, that Islam is a “religion of peace” that has “nothing to do with violence.”  If the media was guilty of anything, it was guilty of covering up the massive scale of global Islamic terror attacks.

Nevertheless, Catholic leaders in America and elsewhere fell for the “Islamophobia” scam, and they threw money and resources into the anti-Islamophobia campaign—a campaign that was already well-funded by Arab Gulf States.

It would be a mistake, however, to conclude that Catholic dialoguers had been innocent victims.  For most of them, the “Islamophobia” narrative was the narrative that they wanted to believe.  It fit nicely into the Catholic narrative about Islam that had developed in the wake of Vatican II—namely, that Islam was a fellow Abrahamic religion that shared much in common with Catholicism, especially a desire for peace.

This focus on shared beliefs provided two main benefits to the Catholic dialogue participants.  First, it allowed them to avoid the unpleasant business of discussing major theological differences with Muslims, and, second, it gave them an opportunity to signal their virtues.

If Muslims could be portrayed as victims of Islamophobia, then Catholic prelates who “stand with our Muslim colleagues” could portray themselves as protectors of the victims—older brothers who would defend their younger siblings from the bullies of the world.  As Bishop (now Cardinal) Robert Mc Elroy said at one USCCB dialogue event, Catholics need to take up the fight against “the scourge of anti-Islamic prejudice.”

However, as anyone who is acquainted with recent history ought to know, Islam is hardly a defenseless younger brother.  The number of Muslims in the world dwarfs the number of Catholics.  And Islam is far more a victimizer than a victim.  Anyone who doubts this ought to consult Raymond Ibrahim’s detailed record of the persecution of non-Muslims by Muslims in recent years.  Yet, despite this abundant evidence, Catholic bishops seem more interested in protecting Muslims from imaginary crimes than in protecting Christians from real crimes at the hands of Muslims.

I bring up the “hijacking” of the Catholic-Muslim dialogue because what Cardinal Muller calls the “hostile takeover” of the Church by the Synod of Synodality seems to be proceeding by the same method.  The Synod organizers are not interested in debating the merits of new movements within the Church, but rather of presenting various dissenting groups as “victims” who deserve justice.

In other words, the aim is not to discuss the pros and cons of women priests or same-sex unions, or the LGBT agenda but to convince ordinary Catholics that they must stand with their “persecuted” and “powerless” younger brothers and sisters in Christ.

So just as bishops have come to believe that they have a mission to protect Muslims from “Islamophobes,” they also believe they have a mission to protect dissenting minorities in the Church from “homophobes,” “transphobes,” and every other type of “progressivephobe” (a word which in all probability will soon be added to the lexicon). Moreover, the 24/7 focus on the needs and grievances of these supposed victims deflects attention away from the harm they do to Church and society

As in the case of Muslim “victims” of Islamophobia, these “excluded “groups are presented as beleaguered and powerless minorities when, in fact, they wield considerable power.  As is well-known, Pope Francis has stacked the College of Cardinals with progressive prelates who share his own agenda.  Moreover, many, if not most, of the top positions in the Vatican are currently held by pro-LGBT and pro-communion-for-everyone cardinals and bishops. It is they, not Cardinal Muller and the handful of other conservative prelates, who are calling the shots.

In this regard, traditional Catholics need to learn a lesson from the current political realities in America.  In the wake of Joe Biden’s presidential victory, it turned out that the deep state bureaucracy and the Democratic machine had amassed far more power and control over American society than any, except for a few, had imagined.  The “hijacking” of America was much further advanced than most had supposed.

Likewise, traditional Catholics should not be surprised when they discover that the “deep Church” of the dissenters wields far more power than they had thought possible.

They also should not be surprised to discover that the supposed “victims” of the Church’s “exclusivity” will turn out to be victimizers.  The main victim of the “hostile takeover” will be the Church itself and the gospel revelation entrusted to it.  The next set of victims will be all those Christians who have come to rely on that revelation for hope and guidance.

A recent piece in the National Catholic Register puts the matter bluntly: “Some faithful German Catholics are already talking, not of the synodal way, but the suicidal way.”

According to some Catholic officials, the word “synod” derives from two Greek words meaning “to walk together” or “walking together.”  Unless it makes a sharp course correction, the current Synod on Synodality may be more accurately described as “walking together over the cliff.”

“Three Christians Murdered by ISWAP Militants in Chibok,” International Christian Concern, October 13, 2022:

10/13/2022 Nigeria (International Christian Concern) – On Tuesday, October 4, Islamic militants murdered three Christians in an attack in northeastern Nigeria. The Christians lived in Njilang village, located in Chibok County. During the attack, the militants burned multiple houses and businesses to the ground and wounded dozens more residents.

An area resident who witnessed the attack identified the militants as affiliates of the terror group Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP). Chibok county has suffered from many terrorist attacks over the past several years. It is a majority-Christian area, which makes its residents highly vulnerable to violence motivated by Islamic extremism.

The resident went on to say that the ISWAP militants attacked at 2:30 AM and were armed with high-powered weapons. They surrounded the village and shot at the Christians who tried to flee. According to the resident, “The ISWAP terrorists also set fire to six houses and looted five shops belonging to Christians in the village, and afterward burned down the shops.” …

As ICC reported earlier this year, the Nigerian government continues to deny any religious motivation behind these attacks. However, evidence repeatedly shows that Islamic extremist groups Boko Haram and ISWAP are seeking to impose sharia (Islamic law) throughout the entirety of Nigeria.

Did Biden Pressure the Saudis to Delay Oil Cut to Influence

It’s no secret that Joe Biden was desperate to prevent the Saudi Arabian government from cutting oil output in advance of the U.S. midterm elections. Biden knew that rising prices at the pump just as American voters headed to the polls would foreclose any chance — however slim — that Democrats had to avoid an electoral disaster.

The Biden administration groveled before Saudi royalty — just as Barack Obama and George Bush had done. And like those other two presidents, it didn’t do any good. The Saudis either jacked up the price or cut the supply anyway.

Word has now leaked out — from the Saudis, no less — that Biden had requested that Saudi Arabia hold off cutting the production of crude oil for a month. That delay would have made the production cut after the November midterm elections.

The Saudis issued a bland statement on the issue. “The Government of the Kingdom clarified through its continuous consultation with the US Administration that all economic analyses indicate that postponing the OPEC+ decision for a month, according to what has been suggested, would have had negative economic consequences,” the statement read.

It’s at this point that we should mention that what Biden was suggesting was an “in-kind” contribution by a foreign power to the Democratic Party. That’s illegal, and the Republicans want Nancy Pelosi to open hearings on the matter.

The administration tried the “Look! Squirrel!” defense by accusing the Saudis of aiding the Russians and undermining U.S. sanctions. Someone should tell old Joe that it’s their fricking oil and they can do whatever the hell they want with it.

These are very serious accusations and need to be investigated in a bipartisan manner. We can’t allow American elections to be held hostage by a foreign power.

The White House claims it’s all on the up and up.

“In recent weeks, the Saudis conveyed to us — privately and publicly — their intention to reduce oil production, which they knew would increase Russian revenues and blunt the effectiveness of sanctions. That is the wrong direction,” White House spokesman John Kirby said in a statement.

“We presented Saudi Arabia with analysis to show that there was no market basis to cut production targets and that they could easily wait for the next OPEC meeting to see how things developed. Other OPEC nations communicated to us privately that they also disagreed with the Saudi decision, but felt coerced to support Saudi’s direction,” he said.

Yeah, right. There’s plenty of “market basis” to cut production since it will put more money in the pockets of oil producers. But compared to saving the Democratic majority in Congress, how important is that?

It’s not really a question of whether or not the administration was looking for Saudi help in surviving the midterm elections. They were. The problem for Republicans is proving it. And given the current climate in Washington, it’s not likely that Democrats will accept anything less than a signed confession from Biden that he committed an impeachable offense.

95% Muslim students: that’s France’s diversity of the future.

“The success of ‘Saint-Jo’, a private Catholic school in the heart of working-class neighborhoods in Marseille,” translated from “La réussite de «Saint-Jo», école privée catholique au cœur des quartiers populaires de Marseille,” by Judith Waintraub, Le Figaro, October 7, 2022:

REPORT – This Catholic school in the northern districts of Marseille, which does not provide catechism lessons, welcomes more than 95% Muslim students.

At first glance, nothing distinguishes “Saint-Jo”, alias Saint-Joseph Viala, from other school groups in La Cabucelle, one of the famous northern districts of Marseille. The establishment may be Catholic, but there is no catechesis, but “interreligious times.” The children, from the toddlers of 2 years to those of third, are more than 95% Muslim, from North African immigration. The same cries resound in the courtyard of the big ones and that of the kindergarten, adjoining. The same buildings, more or less decrepit, rub shoulders with the same prefabs. There is a vegetable garden, like everywhere else, and body awakening sessions in the morning before going to class. The mothers, veiled or not, and the few fathers who accompany the youngest are asked to stay at the door of the establishment, where no one enters without being duly authorized.

Nothing distinguishes Saint-Jo, therefore, except the essential: the parents of some 500 students and the forty teachers did not arrive there by the…

Iran: Gunfire in Isfahan, Karaj, and Saqez, but later ‘the security forces fled’

The only hope of survival that the Islamic regime has is based on its ability to be ruthless and violent in putting down the protests. If the protesters can force the security forces to flee, there is hope in Iran for an end to this bloodthirsty regime.

“Iran protests: Gunfire at anti-hijab protestors in latest crackdown,” AFP, October 13, 2022:

Gunshots were fired as Iranian security forces confronted protests Wednesday over Mahsa Amini’s death in a crackdown that rights groups say has already cost at least 108 lives with many children among the dead.

The crack of gunfire interrupted demonstrators’ chants in the cities of Isfahan and Karaj and in Amini’s hometown Saqez, in videos shared by two Norway-based human rights organisations.

“Death to the dictator,” shouted female students who had defiantly taken off their mandatory hijab headscarves as they marched down a Tehran street, in a video verified by AFP.

Shots were heard in Isfahan amid the “nationwide protests and strikes”, Iran Human Rights (IHR) said of a video it tweeted, and in Saqez, according to the Kurdish rights group Hengaw, which reported that later “the security forces fled”.

Amini, 22, died on September 16 after falling into a coma following her arrest in Tehran by the notorious morality police for an alleged breach of the Islamic republic’s strict dress code for women.

Young women, university students and even schoolgirls have since taken off their hijabs and faced off with security forces in the biggest wave of social unrest to grip Iran in almost three years.

At least 28 children have been killed and hundreds more detained and held mostly in adult prisons, rights groups said.

Deadly unrest has rocked especially Sanandaj in Amini’s western home province of Kurdistan — but also Zahedan in Iran’s far southeast, where demonstrations erupted on September 30 over the reported rape of a teenage girl by a police commander.

Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Wednesday again accused Iran’s “enemies” of stoking “street riots”.

“The actions of the enemy, such as propaganda, trying to influence minds, creating excitement, encouraging and even teaching the manufacture of incendiary devices are now completely clear,” he said….
