Trump’s Marine One makes emergency landing

President Trump leaves UK after helicopter emergency landing | Air Force 1 | Marine 1

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were aboard Marine 1 when an emergency was declared; prompting the first couple to change to the decoy helicopter with the new callsign 'Marine 1.' For those of us at London Stansted Airport, we see Marine 1 landing without a decoy, and then Air Force 1 departing. There are also several motorcades that go where-ever they go, in case aircraft are grounded. The Boeing VC-25A is one of two heavily modified Boeing 747s used for transporting the president. Additionally, there are several Boeing C-32As used to transport the president, vice president, cabinet members and other VIPs; such as Marco Rubio, Secretary of State. They are all operated by the 89th Airlift Wing at Joint Base Andrews. Any US Air Force aircraft will take the callsign 'Air Force 1' if the president is on-board. 'Marine 1' was a VH-3D Sea King operated by the US Marine Corps' Marine Helicopter Squadron 1 (HMX-1) for transporting the Commander-In-Chief. The helicopter was supported by three CH-47 Chinooks of the US Army, a Wildcat AH1 of the British Army and a Eurocopter EC-135 of the National Police Air Service. The Presidential State Limousines and two armored Chevrolet Suburbans of the US Secret Service had been brought in case they needed to transport President Trump, should the aircraft be grounded. These were supported by several other specialist vehicles, security teams and police escorts; including the Electronic Countermeasures Vehicle Chevrolet Suburban 'Watchtower' and the Ford F550 Hazardous Agent Mitigation Medical Emergency Response 'HAMMER' vehicle. The President of the United States, and the First Lady, have been invited to stay at Windsor Castle with King Charles III and Queen Camilla on his second State Visit to the United Kingdom. He was last hosted by Queen Elizabeth II on his first State Visit in 2019. A large security entourage will accompany the president on his travels, utilizing multiple aircraft and motorcades.
