The good news is that the Biden regime finally found something for the nation’s Second Guy, Kamala Harris’ dude Doug Emhoff, to do. The bad news is that what he was doing was pandering to a group of people with ties to an organization that is dedicated in its own words to “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within.” Yeah, it was just another day in the Biden White House.
The WhiteHouse.gov site, which publishes transcripts of Old Joe Biden’s addresses (cleaned up as best they can) and related material, published on Wednesday a “Readout of White House Listening Session on Islamophobia.” It noted that “Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff,” along with the U.S. Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom, Rashad Hussain, and no less notorious a figure than White House Domestic Policy Advisor Ambassador Susan Rice, among others, held “a listening session with Muslim community leaders to discuss efforts to counter Islamophobia, which is hate, discrimination, or bias directed at people who are or are perceived to be Muslim.”
No hate, discrimination, or bias is ever justified, but there are several problems with this. One is that the convening of a White House summit on this problem is like calling out the U.S. Army to give someone a speeding ticket. FBI hate crime statistics show that Muslims are rarely targeted in hate crimes, which far more often victimize Jews and others. In fact, anti-Muslim hate crimes actually declined by 42% from 2020 to 2021. But those facts don’t fit the narrative that Muslims face widespread discrimination and harassment in the United States, and so the facts have to take a back seat.
They certainly did at the White House on Wednesday. “Biden-Haris [sic!] administration officials,” the Biden regime announcement continued, “conveyed their gratitude to the participants for their leadership and underscored the President’s commitment to countering Islamophobia.” Gee, that’s terrific, but the more one looks at exactly whom they were thanking, the more disquieting this whole thing is.
First on the list of participants was Imam Mohamed Magid, who is the Executive Imam at the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) in northern Virginia. Magid was previously president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), which, according to Focus On Western Islamism, was “designated by the Justice Department as an unindicted co-conspirator in the terrorism-financing trial of the Holy Land Foundation in 2007. The Justice Department also listed ISNA as an ‘entity’ of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood. In 2009, a federal judge upheld the designation because of ‘ample’ evidence linking ISNA to the Hamas-financing network.”
Magid also was involved in “hindering discussion of the Islamist political motives of jihadist terrorism while serving on the Obama Administration’s working group dedicated to Countering Violent Extremism program.” That was around the time my own materials on Muhammad and the Qur’an were removed from counterterror training.
Robert McCaw of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) was also there. CAIR officials have refusedtodenounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman Omar Ahmad has made statements about how Islamic law should eventually be imposed in the U.S. (Ahmad denies this, but the original reporter stands by her story.)
Salam al-Marayati was there. Again according to Focus On Western Islamism, “in 1999 he called Hezbollah attacks as ‘legitimate resistance.’…His involvement with MPAC is remarkable because the organization was founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood and has a history of concerning rhetoric. For example, the organization has claimed that the War on Terror was actually a ‘war on Islam’ perpetrated by a conspiracy of anti-Muslim ‘special interest groups working with U.S. government officials to promote ‘Islamophobic’ policies in the aftermath of 9/11. In 2010, an MPAC policy paper argued that the Muslim Brotherhood’s ‘peaceful activism’ is an asset to the U.S.’s efforts to fight Al-Qaeda.”
Note also that the participants shared the same point of view. No one who would tell the truth about “Islamophobia,” that it’s a propaganda term designed to intimidate people into thinking it’s wrong to oppose jihad violence and Sharia oppression of women, was even anywhere close to being invited.
It’s bad enough that the Biden regime doesn’t hesitate to associate with representatives of groups with demonstrable links to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. What’s wrong with Muslim Brotherhood-linked groups? Muslim Brotherhood organizations in the United States are dedicated, according to a captured internal document, to “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house.” And even its miserable White House. Imagine the uproar if Biden’s handlers invited people linked to “right-wing extremist” groups to the White House. But this will get no notice.

From referring to a Muslim judge as "boy" to using other racist language towards attendees, Biden's behavior has sparked outrage and criticism from many Americans, particularly Muslim Americans. Additionally, Biden's comment calling Rep. Ilhan Omar "beautiful" has been criticized for being inappropriate and objectifying. Georgetown University, which was founded as Georgetown College in 1789 and is the oldest Catholic university in the United States, has earned yet another distinction: it is now the oldest Catholic university in the U.S. that has a large new mosque on campus. This is great news, right? This is just the sort of openness and good-heartedness that will erase misunderstandings, melt hostility and mutual suspicion, and usher in a new era of peace. Won’t it? Meanwhile, we eagerly await the announcement of which Islamic university anywhere in the world is planning to open a Christian chapel on campus.
The College Fix reported Friday that Georgetown “recently completed a major construction project erecting a large mosque on campus.” The university happily proclaimed that the Yarrow Mamout Masjid, which was named after a famous Muslim freed slave and entrepreneur who lived in the Georgetown area in the early nineteenth century, is “the first mosque with ablution stations, a spirituality and formation hall and a halal kitchen on a U.S. college campus.” How exciting! And really, what could possibly go wrong?
The Georgetown mosque has been happily welcomed at the highest levels. The College Fix stated that it has actually been operating since 2019 while construction continued, but finally the building “was completed earlier this year to much fanfare, with a dedication ceremony March 18 drawing Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, who issued a proclamation recognizing the mosque.”
Yet even with a proclamation from the mayor and proud Catholic university administrators boasting about ablution stations and a halal kitchen, the university didn’t seem eager to talk about its grand new structure. The Fix noted that “Georgetown University’s media relations, as well as representatives of its Catholic Faith Communities, Catholic Ministry and alumni center, all ignored requests over the last week from The College Fix seeking comment on the mosque.” Now, that’s downright strange. Are they proud of their new mosque or not?
They should be if they have any interest in being consistent. The College Fix also points out that “the Catholic Georgetown is not shy about embracing Islam. Its news release touted the fact that Georgetown was also the first U.S. university to hire a full-time Muslim imam 24 years ago.”And “in 2016, students at Georgetown University elected a Muslim student to serve as their student association president, a first for the school.” Fr. Mark Bosco, the vice president for Georgetown’s Mission and Ministry division, explained the underlying rationale for all this when he said: “We need to embrace interreligious dialogue.”
Fr. Bosco has several million reasons to say this. The Daily Caller reported back in June 2019 that Georgetown was among the American universities that have “taken hundreds of millions of dollars from the government of Qatar, a middle eastern nation with suspected links to international terrorism.” Long before that, the Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal gave Georgetown $20 million for the Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding, which pumps out “Islamophobia” propaganda by the bucketload, gives Sharia supremacist and pro-slavery and rape apologist Jonathan A. C. Brown and other disingenuous Islamic apologists an aura of respectability, and sponsors the Bridge Initiative, which endeavors to hoodwink Catholic institutions into thinking there is no jihad threat and that “Islamophobia” is the real problem (as if they needed much convincing).
The links to Saudi Arabia and Qatar make it clear: Georgetown is bought and paid for, like so many other American universities today.The new mosque is more about that than about a genuine attempt to foster interfaith understanding and dialogue. And regarding that dialogue, a parting question for Fr. Mark Bosco: where is the Islamic university that is opening a Catholic chapel, or any kind of Christian chapel? Why does the “interreligious dialogue” to which you are so indefatigably committed, despite the fact that it has not saved a single Christian from persecution or prevented one church in a Muslim country from being destroyed, always and in every case go only one way?
The renowned twentieth-century Muslim Brotherhood theorist and Islamic scholar Sayyid Qutb put it plainly: “The chasm between Islam and Jahiliyyah [the society of unbelievers] is great, and a bridge is not to be built across it so that the people on the two sides may mix with each other, but only so that the people of Jahiliyyah may come over to Islam.” Georgetown, still supposedly a Catholic university, has become one of those bridges.

In 2021, Pope Francis urged Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban to take in more migrants, “opening ourselves to the thirst of men and women of our time.” On a recent visit to Hungary, the Pope again urged Orban to take in migrants and even became political in urging an end to “self-referential forms of populism” in Europe. He equated open-door migration to Christianity.
ABC reported that “while Orbán’s government has consistently rejected asylum-seekers from the Middle East and Africa, around 2.5 million Ukrainians fleeing war in their country found open doors.” Orban has made his position clear on numerous occasions as to why he has closed Hungary’s doors to the mainly Muslim migrants flowing in from the Middle East and Africa. It was all about national security and preserving Hungary’s culture. He stated in 2021 that “migrant armies are banging on Europe’s doors, on the doors that seal off migration routes on land and at sea.”
In contrast, the UK projects that 56,000 illegal migrants will enter the country via the English Channel this year. Serious criminals — including murderers, terrorists, and rapists — have been found among English Channel migrants. The situation has prompted UK Immigration Minister Robert Jenrick to warn that illegal migrants “cannibalize” communities by importing “different lifestyles.” Italy has also now declared a state of emergency over its own influx of illegal economic migrants from Africa.
Hungary has chosen to preserve its values, protecting its citizens from the threat of jihad, Sharia no-go zones, Sharia patrols, high crime, Islamic supremacism, sex assaults, “Islamic separatism” and the like. The small nation has also been spending tens of millions of dollars to rebuild churches and Christian communities destroyed by jihadis in the Middle East. So this is not about “racism,” as the Pope also suggested by saying that it was “sad and painful” to see doors closed to people who were “unlike us.”
Actions speak louder than words. Until the Pope enables opening the doors of the Vatican, including those of his own quarters, to the mainly Muslim migrants from Africa and warmly welcomes all of the illegal, unvetted migrants, he should carefully consider his words to Hungary. He should also tell the victims of the worst crimes — including victims of terror — to their faces that open-door migration policies are a positive good.

All right, but the definition of “a good life” differs sharply in both religions. The pope would stoutly deny this and call anyone who pointed it out “Islamophobic,” but nonetheless, it is the case.
Qur’an 98:4-6: “Nor were the people of the book divided until after the clear proof came to them. And they are not ordered to do anything else but serve Allah, keeping religion pure for him, as hanifs, and to establish prayer and to give alms. That is true religion. Indeed, the unbelievers among the people of the book and the idolaters will remain in the fire of Gehenna. They are the most vile of created beings.”
Qur’an 5:14: “And with those who say: Indeed, we are Christians, we made a covenant, but they forgot a part of what they were reminded about. Therefore we have stirred up enmity and hatred among them until the day of resurrection, when Allah will inform them of their handiwork.”

Addressing participants at the VI Colloquium between the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue and the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies, Pope Francis encouraged each member, noting that with this being their sixth encounter, their perseverance is clear.
Commonalities between religions The theme of the colloquium, “Creative Commonalities between Christianity and Islam”, the Pope said, reflects how “each of us is like the link in a long chain: many people have preceded us on the beautiful and challenging road of encounter and friendship, others will follow us, as we hope and pray, confirming that feeling of brotherhood that is the foundation of relations between peoples”….
Bringing his message to a close, the Pope noted that the dialogue practiced and promoted requires a style of sincerity and mutual respect if it is to be fruitful, and requires “an awareness of both convergences and divergences”. He spoke of compassion for all, before adding that “we also believe that not everything ends with death, but that there is another life, eternal, where we will give account to God for our actions and receive reward or punishment”.
Finally, the Pope noted that “our common commitment is to a good life” and this, he concluded, “gives glory to God and joy to all those we meet on our earthly pilgrimage”.

Islamic antisemitism has been rising globally for years via the effective manipulation of Palestinian victimhood. Of course, the well-documented Palestinian goal of obliterating the state of Israel is presented to the world as a “resistance” in the face of injustice, a presentation that involves erasing history.
The hatefest and incitement to violence — presented as a “protest” in Berlin — would never be tolerated in any Western society against any other group. It shows the effectiveness of propaganda, as well as how leaders are willing to kowtow to Islamic supremacists out of fear. Although “Berlin police had banned calling for Israel’s destruction and showing flags and signs of terror organizations” before the protest, the rallygoers ignored the ban. The demonstration escalated to full-blown antisemitism. The Times of Israel described the protest:
“Death to Israel. Death to the Jews.” Shockingly, these chants were heard at “anti-Israel” protests in the Berlin neighborhoods of Kreuzberg and Neukölln, over Passover. The demonstrations were co-organized by a group called Samidoun – part of a network of NGOs connected to the Popular Front Liberation of Palestine (PFLP),
The biggest questions are these: how many arrests were made? And will there be a follow-up?
The more Israel defends itself and the rights of Jewish people, the more vicious the jihad against it becomes, along with a surge in tolerated antisemitism. The Samidoun Network posted images of the demonstration on Telegram to further fuel its mission.

Amidst the renewed violent clashes between the Israeli security forces and Palestinians on Temple Mount in Jerusalem during the coinciding Ramadan and Passover holidays, German capital once again became a scene of public calls for the extermination of the Jewish state. On April 8, approximately 500 pro-Palestinian protesters marched through the street of the Berlin districts of Neukölln and Kreuzberg, both with large Arab and Turkish populations, chanting antisemitic and anti-Israel slogans and calling for the destruction of Jews and Israel. Some of the chants heard were: “Death to the Jews! Death to Israel!”, “I generate the bloody body!”, as well as “Tel Aviv, the answer will come!” Protesters openly glorified terrorist violence and praised the military arm of Hamas, the Qassam Brigades that is responsible for numerous suicide attacks against civilians, rocket attacks, and hostage taking. The protest was organized by the German branch of the “Samidoun – Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network,” a direct affiliate of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), which simultaneously mobilized a protest gathering in Cologne.
On April 6, Samidoun posted on its Telegram channel an event flyer announcing the protest march held under the slogan of “Solidarity With the Steadfast Defenders of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.” The protest started in the center of Neukölln district and ended at Kottbusser Tor station in the neighboring Kreuzberg district. An additional gathering was to take place in the center of Cologne at the Heumarkt square.[1]
Although Samidoun is banned in Israel as a terrorist organization, given its extensive overlap with the PFLP and its involvement in planning and networking, the organization is still free to operate in Europe. Despite PFLP being listed as a terrorist organization in Israel, the U.S., the E.U., and elsewhere, Samidoun is not subjected to a ban in Germany where operates freely. Regardless of the evidently illegal slogans at the Samidoun-organized protest, the police forces present at the scene and provided with official Arabic interpreters, remained idle and refrained from intervening and dispersing the demonstration.

The notorious “influencer” and convert to Islam, Andrew Tate, who once said that “ISIS are the real Muslims,”sparked outrage when he issued a challenge to Satanists who shredded a Bible.
Social media users accepted the “challenge” by Tate and started posting photographs and videos desecrating the Quran. They trended #AndrewTateQuranChallengeto post on the media. There were images of burnt Quran, pork and bacon placed on the open Quran, the holy book in the mouth of a pig and other derogatory imagery against the Quran.
As Hindustan Times reported, Tate’s tweet “quickly sparked backlash and accusations of ‘Islamophobia’, with many people criticizing Tate for promoting intolerance and disrespect towards the Muslim faith.”
Even Muslims aren’t spared charges of “Islamophobia,” no matter what the intent. In Tate’s case, he was displaying bravado with a hint of a threat to those who might take up his challenge. Others saw it as an insult to issue such a dare. Then there was Tate’s unintentional defense of Christianity. The truth is that Christianity is the real religion of peace, tried and tested. You won’t hear about Christians beheading, murdering, maiming, or mobbing anyone who tears up a Bible or offends Christianity. And the reason certainly is not that Christians don’t feel offended or hurt. It’s because there is nothing in Christianity that calls for the death of anyone who blasphemes, unlike Islam:
A blind man had a slave-mother who used to abuse the Prophet (peace be upon him) and disparage him. He forbade her, but she did not stop. He rebuked her but she did not give up her habit. One night she began to slander the Prophet (may God bless him and grant him peace) and abuse him. So he took a dagger, placed it on her belly, pressed it, and killed her. He assembled the people and said: I adjure by Allah the man who has done this action and I adjure him by my right to him that he should stand up. Jumping over the necks of the people and trembling the man stood up. He sat before the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: Messenger of Allah! I am her master; she used to abuse you and disparage you. I forbade her, but she did not stop, and I rebuked her. but she did not abandon her habit. I have two sons like pearls from her, and she was my companion. Last night she began to abuse and disparage you. So I took a dagger, put it on her belly and pressed it till I killed her. Thereupon the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Oh be witness, no retaliation is payable for her blood.

As for the gutless Satanists who tore up the Bible, they, too, know that Christianity is a religion of peace and that they had nothing to fear.

The emoji he used at the end of the tweet gave the impression that he wanted to say if anyone tried the same with Quran, he or she would not be spared. However, it did not go well with the netizens.

Is Old Joe Biden losing what little grip he had?
The reputed president hosted a reception in the White House Monday to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the Muslim feast marking the end of Ramadan, the monthlong season of fasting by day and gorging by night, and he was in even worse form than usual. The senescent corruptocrat who holds the job that not too long ago entitled him to be called the leader of the free world was slurring his words and making wildly inappropriate cracks. At one point he even told an audience member, “Hush up, boy,” which would have made for at least a week’s worth of media outrage for his predecessor, if not impeachment proceedings. All in all, Biden’s Eid display was another I-told-you-so moment for the Democrats who wish Old Joe would just go away already.

Biden struggled with his teleprompter even more than usual and was often defeated. In the midst of a lengthy bout of Islamopandering, he declared: “Muslims surveyed and served very, very bravely in the U.S. Armed Forces and law enforcement.” “Surveyed and served” was clearly a matter of the dementia-ridden octogenarian reading his cue cards wrong and then correcting himself. A bit later on he said: “And the cheer from Muslim —” No, that can’t be right, Joe, try again: “We cheer for Muslim athletes, like Kareem” – uh oh, you know this is going to be a tough one for The Big Guy – “Alj- — Alj- — Abdul-Jabbar.” Old Joe tried to cover for this by adding: “I know him, and I still mispronounced his name. But he calls me ‘Joe Bidden’ once in a while.” That almost certainly was yet another lie from Joe, but the audience, knowing that the jabbering old man who is supposed to be president was very much on their side, dutifully laughed, anyway.
Even amidst all his pandering, however, the alleged president managed to make some clumsy and tone-deaf remarks.He called out, “Congresswoman Omar. Where are you, Congresswoman Omar?” When the winsome and patriotic Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Mogadishu) responded, “Right here.” Biden said: “I’m not supposed to — I’ll get in trouble for saying this, but you look beautiful tonight.” Omar is a Sharia-adherent, hijab-wearing Muslim. The basis for the hijab in Islamic theology is that it is supposed to reduce a woman’s attractiveness and thereby remove the possibility that men will be tempted; for Biden, as a male who is unrelated to Omar and an infidel at that, to tell her that she looks beautiful was the height of inappropriateness. If he weren’t pretending to be president, he would indeed have gotten in trouble for saying such a thing.
Biden also boasted that Muslims in his regime were working away at his socialist, America-Last agenda: “Muslim Americans in my administration are working on everything from making sure our veterans get quality healthcare, to meeting the climate crisis, to representing Americans overseas as members of our diplomatic corps.” But as Biden was in mid-pander, an audience member called out: “We also have the first federal judge — Muslim federal judge. The only one.” Biden began to reply, but the audience member kept talking until Papa Dementia snapped: “You want to come and make a speech? Hush up, boy.” Boy? Who are you calling “boy,” Joe? If Biden had an “R” after his name, this “boy” would have been screaming headline news all Tuesday morning. But as always, Old Joe gets a pass.
Pious Joe also seized yet another opportunity to run down his own tradition, marveling at how Catholics have it easy compared to Muslims in terms of fasting: “It’s not so different than we Catholics have Lent. We do it for 40 days, but not nearly as hard as your time. It’s a little longer than Ramadan, but we get to eat and drink during the day, which makes a big difference, to say the least.” Sure, but Biden didn’t mention that during Ramadan, Muslims feast all night, which makes the fast look quite different. Nor did he note that the traditional Lenten fast, which some Christians still observe, involves eating no meat, dairy, or fish for forty days, and that’s far more rigorous than Ramadan. Why did Catholic Joe have to go out of his way to compare his own faith unfavorably to Islam? Why does he profess to be a pious Catholic and yet never miss an opportunity to denigrate Christianity or foster legislation that is opposed to its teachings?
Biden concluded by wishing the audience a “Happy Eid Mubarak.” The name of the feast is actually “Eid al-Fitr,” that is, the Feast of Breaking the Fast. “Eid Mubarak,” or “Blessed feast,” is what Muslims say to one another on the big day. So what Biden was saying to his guests was the equivalent of saying “Happy Merry Christmas.” Just more tone-deafness, and one more indication that it’s long past time for Old Joe to retire to his taxpayer-funded walled Delaware beach house and catch up on those Matlock reruns.

Old Joe Biden held a big party for Muslims at the White House Monday, and he went heavy on the pandering, claiming that “Muslims have been part of the United States from the very start.” But conspicuously not playing a part in this lovefest was Mohamed Khairullah, the mayor of Prospect Park, N.J., who complained Monday that the Secret Service had barred him from attending. What’s this, Joe? “Islamophobia” in the Biden regime’s White House? Appoint a special counsel!
News 12 New Jersey reported Monday that Khairullah, “New Jersey’s longest-serving Muslim mayor,” asserted that “officials at the White House told him that the United States Secret Service decided that he could not enter.” Khairullah, in full victimhood mode, lamented, “I guess I’m back to being accused of something.” News 12 New Jersey explains that he was “referencing a 2019 incident where he was detained at JFK International Airport. The Syrian American mayor traveled to Syria in 2015 to aid refugees and to the Middle East last year with no issue.”
Well, there was a bit more to it than just aiding refugees. Back in Sept. 2019, Khairullah was at JFK International Airport in New York City, on his way home from visiting relatives in Turkey. “We just wanted to go and have a good time,” he said, but upon his return, he was held for no less than three hours for questioning. “I don’t go near shady organizations,” he declared and added, “I believe that my constitutional rights were violated” by questions about whether he had met with any terrorists.
It turned out, however, that Khairullah has a history of support for jihad activity.Terrorism researcher John Rossomando noted in Nov. 2019 that it was “more likely that Khairullah was pulled aside by the CBP [U.S. Customs and Border Protection] due to his frequent travel to the Syrian war zone via Istanbul.” Also: “The mayor worked on relief missions and was a board member with Watan USA, the American branch of the London, England–headquartered Watan Foundation. Watan’s partner organizations and some of its leaders have supported and assisted al-Qaeda in Syria. Its co-founder and president, Moaz al-Sibaai, belonged to the Muslim Brotherhood–linked Muslim Council of Britain’s Business and Economics Committee. A 2015 IRS tax form listed Khairullah as a Watan USA board member.” Thus there was every reason for U.S. officials to look twice at Khairullah’s trip.
And as you no doubt expect, there was more: “Khairullah’s social media shows he repeatedly expressed support for Jabhat al-Nusra,” al-Qaeda’s affiliate in Syria. “Khairullah even thanked ISIS for taking bandits off the streets of Syria.” Khairullah wrote in Jan. 2014, “A good thing that ISIS has done is to eliminate the thieves and bandits in their area of control. Allah knows what was behind this move.”
But Khairullah didn’t note any of that when he decided to go public with this complaint about his questioning by the CBP. “It was definitely a hurtful moment where I’m thinking in my mind that this is not the America that I know,” he said. “I am very familiar with our laws and Constitution.” That’s terrific, seeing as how you’re the mayor of an American city and all that. “And everything that was going on there was a violation.” Even worse, “it’s flat-out insulting. It’s flat-out stereotyping of Muslims and Arabs.” Maybe. But all this made it abundantly clear why the Secret Service had abundant reason to bar Khairullah from Old Joe’s post-Ramadan shindig.
The Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), however, disagreed, and fumed: “We call on the White House to override the Secret Service and reinstate the mayor’s invitation, disband the secret watchlist, and issue an apology to [Mayor Khairullah].” In the face of this intimidation, at least so far the Secret Service is standing firm: “While we regret any inconvenience this may have caused, the mayor was not allowed to enter the White House complex this evening. Unfortunately, we are not able to comment further on the specific protective means and methods used to conduct our security operations at the White House.”
There are perfectly good reasons to keep a man such as Mohamed Khairullah away from the White House. The refusal to recognize this is designed to make sure that no one is barred in this way in the future. After Khairullah’s rage and complaints, the Secret Service may become more wary of daring to stop people from entering sensitive areas, no matter how suspicious they may be. Is that what Mohamed Khairullah, the patriotic mayor of Prospect Park, N.J., wants? Is that what any American should want?

NGO Monitor has released its 2022 report: USAID 2022 West Bank and Gaza Grantees: Vetting Gaps Remain. The report highlights the U.S. government’s failure to properly vet Palestinian beneficiaries of aid. But maybe it isn’t really isn’t about vetting at all. Enough is known about the Palestinian Authority and its support for jihad terror groups, which is precisely what prompted Donald Trump to withhold American funding. The record of the Biden administration and its palpable sympathy for the Palestinians raises justifiable doubts about its reasons for lax vetting.
In 2018, the Trump administration withheld an additional $45 million from the jihad terror-linked United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). That’s what due diligence looks like. And while complaining that Palestinians would “starve” because of Trump’s cuts, the Palestinian Authority (PA) purchased a $50,000,000 private jet for Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas. The “State of Palestine” also built 100 embassies globally and funded jihad terror prisoners, even while constantly begging the world for cash.
In 2018, Trump signed the Taylor Force Act to end American aid to the PA until the PA stopped paying money through the Palestinian Authority Martyr’s Fund to the families of Palestinian jihadist prisoners and suicide bombers. Nonetheless, the Biden administration resumed shoveling aid to the PA, ignoring the Taylor Force Act. The implications of the payment of American dollars to the PA are obvious. In 2021, the Muslim Brotherhood praised the Democrats for siding with jihad terrorists against “Zionist attacks.”
Less than two months ago, Tom Nides, Biden’s ambassador to Israel, stated: “I spend 60% of my time trying to help the Palestinian people.” He boasted: “I was the first person out there when Ben Gvir went up to the Temple Mount to stir up trouble.”
NGO Monitor’s communications director, Itai Reuveni, stated:“USAID grantees should align with US goals and values.” But that would depend on whose values one is talking about. For the first time, Gallup has found that “Democrats’ sympathies in Middle East shift to Palestinians.”

The Biden administration is funding several Palestinian organizations despite their leaders’ support for and glorification of terrorism, according to a report released Monday by NGO Monitor, an Israeli research and watchdog group.
NGO Monitor released its 2022 report Monday calling out the U.S. government for failing to thoroughly vet Palestinian applicants to its foreign aid programs. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), a U.S. federal agency that administers civilian foreign aid and development assistance, approved thousands of dollars in 2022 to fund several Palestinian organizations which have members or leaders with concerning views on terrorism, according to the report.
“NGO Monitor’s findings demonstrate that there remain blindspots in USAID vetting, allowing NGOs led by individuals who glorify violence to receive US taxpayer funds,” NGO Monitor’s communications director Itai Reuveni told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “USAID grantees should align with US goals and values.”
The Palestinian Charity for Youth Economic Empowerment (CYEE) was given $76,000 in 2022 by USAID for “60 emerging female leaders,” according to NGO Monitor’s report. For instance, CYEE Project Coordinator Haneen Al-Qawasm celebrated Ghassan Kanafani, a spokesperson for the Popular Front for Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a U.S. designated terrorist group since 1997, as a “revolutionary” and martyr in a Facebook post, according to the report.
CYEE Executive Director Sahar Othman has also cheered for Palestinian terrorists on her social media after several were killed in fights with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), according to the report.
Community Development and Continuing Education Institute (CDCE-I) received $78,000 from USAID for a project that “encourages youth participation and accountability in local governance.” The organization’s board members, however, have expressed sympathy and even glorified Palestinian terrorism against Israel on multiple occasions, according to the report……

The New York Times has a new reporter, even worse than those already covering Israel and the Palestinians. She is Raja Abdulrahim, who, when a college student, was helped by financial aid from CAIR, and she has remained loyal to that organization, an unindicted co-conspirator in the country’s largest terrorism financing trial. She has a special sympathy for Hamas, about which she has had nothing bad to say, and now that she works for the Times, her opinion pieces, masquerading as news reports, carry much greater weight. In 2019 and again in 2022, Gaza residents launched the “We Want to Live” campaign, protesting Hamas corruption, taxes, and policies that condemn citizens to a life of poverty.
Whenever Hamas leaders want more money, they simply impose a new tax – on gasoline, on heating oil, on electricity, on food. Few dare to openly protest; on a few occasions when Gazans have been pushed to public protests, they have been clubbed into submission by the bullyboys of Hamas. Some protests dramatically show the depth of their immiseration: Gaza merchants were recently filmed dumping their produce as a protest of a heavy Hamas tax crushing Gazans struggling to make ends meet, making them unable to buy the products that the merchants had to sell.
But Hamas, it seems, can count on The New York Times’ Abdulrahim to be more compliant than ungrateful Gaza residents. Indeed, Abdulrahim’s 1200-plus word article highlighting the dire financial situation of the Gaza Strip does not mention Hamas once, a glaring omission sure to have brought great holiday cheer to the territory’s repressive regime (“As Gaza Celebrates Eid, a Gift for Women — and a Duty For Men,” in print April 21).
Since her university days, Abdulrahim was groomed to provide coverage favorable to Hamas. As a student sponsored by CAIR (the Council on American-Islamic Relations, whose executives were unindicted co-conspirators in the United States’ largest terror finance case in history), Abdulrahim defended anti-Israel terror groups, denying that Hamas and Hezbollah are terror organizations that have murdered innocent Israeli civilians. Now, as a Times reporter, she churns out propaganda on behalf of Palestinian terrorists, justifying CAIR’s long-ago investment in the young writer.
Two weeks after the 9/11 attacks, Abdulrahim, then a student at the University of Florida, defended Hamas and Hezbollah in a letter to her campus newspaper, the Independent Florida Alligator, denying that Hamas and Hezbollah are terrorist organizations. The Sept. 26, 2001 letter stated: “I decided to respond to Guy Golan’s letter (‘Jews must help all Arab people’) from Monday’s Alligator because he erroneously refers to Hamas and Hizbollah as ‘fundamentalist’ and ‘terror organizations’ that have ‘murdered innocent Israeli civilians.’”
Her latest lengthy feature [in the New York Times] in service of Hamas, covers in great detail the coastal territory’s enduring custom of giving cash gifts to female relatives despite severe economic hardship. “Despite economic pain, Palestinian Muslims follow a costly annual custom,” was the subheadline in the international print edition.
About the bankrupting tradition, Abdulrahim explains:
To give the eidiya [the gift given as part of celebrating Eid], some men will go into debt. Others will wait until their wives get their eidiya from relatives before turning around and using that money to give the gifts to their other female relatives.
However bad one’s financial situation is, we have to go and give,” said Mr. Helles’ father, Hamid al-Abid Helles.
Abdulrahim stresses the wretched state of the impoverished people of Gaza, who don’t even have enough money to buy the presents they are required to give to female relatives at Eid. Some go into debt to pay for the Eidiya gifts they will give, while others wait until their own female relatives receive their Eid gifts, and then they re-purpose them, sending them as their Eid gifts to others. We are made to feel keenly the economic pain of the Gazans. But Abdulrahim has no intention of putting the blame for their poverty where it belongs: on the despotic regime of Hamas, which has ruled Gaza since 2007.
Hamas has caused that impoverishment in two ways. First, the Hamas leaders have helped themselves to billions of dollars in aid money, which they then squirrel away abroad, in bank accounts, on stocks, or on real estate. Abdulrahim never raises the issue of Hamas’ corruption.
While Abdulrahim tactfully refrains from mentioning the word “Hamas,” she reserves blame for the coastal territory’s bleak financial situation solely on the Israeli-Egyptian blockade, writing:
These days, coming up with the money for the eidiya is especially onerous. The 16-year-blockade of Gaza by Israel and Egypt has undermined the living conditions of more than two million Palestinians and led an unemployment rate of nearly 50 percent, among the highest in the world.
Notably, even on the narrow issue of the blockade, Abdulrahim violates the journalistic imperative to report basic information, neglecting to include even one word about the reasons for the Israel-Egyptian restrictions. In contrast, this recent AP report, which cites the Israeli-Egyptian blockade only in passing, commendably informs: “A crippling Israeli-Egyptian blockade imposed after Hamas violently wrested control of Gaza in 2007 has made it difficult for Hamas to smuggle Iranian-made rockets into the coastal enclave in recent years.”
The blockade not only prevented the smuggling by Hamas of Iranian-made rockets into the Strip, but prevented “dual-use” materials that could be used to build weapons, or terror tunnels, from entering Gaza. Abulrahim makes no mention of why Israel imposes its blockade; in her telling, it seems inexplicable and cruel.
More broadly, Abdulrahim’s pronounced pro-Hamas agenda does not leave any space to note Hamas’ responsibility for stifling the local economy by investing in terror infrastructure as opposed to economic development and social welfare.
In Gaza, Hamas built an entire network of underground tunnels (since destroyed by Israel), where its operatives and their weapons could remain hidden from the view of Israeli pilots. The men of Hamas were thus able, until recently, to move across the Strip through these tunnels without being observed. Now Israel has both located and destroyed that network of terror tunnels. These tunnels cost hundreds of millions of dollars to build, money that might have gone to schools, hospitals, and relief aid to the 65% of Gazans who now live below the poverty line. Abdulrahim has nothing to say about the spending choices Hamas has made, so scandalously indifferent to the wellbeing of Gazans.
Last May, the US Treasury Department revealed that Hamas’ Investment Office, which oversees a network of three Hamas financial facilitators and six companies, raised more than $500 million for the terror organization. “Hamas has generated vast sums of revenue through its secret investment portfolio while destabilizing Gaza, which is facing harsh living and economic conditions. Hamas maintains a violent agenda that harms both Israelis and Palestinians,” charged Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes, Elizabeth Rosenberg.
All that money, coming to Hamas from rich Sunni Arab individuals in the Gulf, from the state of Qatar, and now, too, from Iran, which has chosen to overlook sectarian differences with Hamas for the greater good of the cause – the destruction of the Jewish state — adds up to hundreds of millions of dollars a year. Where does it all go? Much of it goes to the tens of thousands of members of Hamas, who live well amidst so much poverty. And while 60% of Gazans are unemployed, Hamas members and their relatives are assured of well-paid government sinecures. Abdulrahim ignores the economic benefits of membership in Hamas, a source of great resentment among the general population.

Residents in Gaza revived a three-year-old digital campaign against the Islamic Hamas movement, blaming it for the deteriorating living conditions in the territory over the years.
Under the hashtag “We Want To Live”, thousands of Gazans, including expatriates, joined the campaign which holds Hamas mainly responsible for the economic, political and social problems in the impoverished and besieged coastal enclave….
But Abdulrahim won’t touch these folks’ stories….
Hamas runs the Gaza Strip like a Mafia family. Those who are in the family – the “made men” of Hamas — get everything they want, for themselves and their relatives, while the general population endures a steady impoverishment. At the very top are the leaders, whose colossal corruption is a constant source of resentment and rage. Just two of those leaders, Khaled Meshaal and Mousa bin Marzouk, have each managed to accumulate fortunes of $2.5 billion. In addition, 600 “Hamas millionaires,” who have been allowed to take their more modest cuts from donors’ aid of between one and a few million dollars apiece, live in luxurious villas in the Strip.
Israel, meanwhile, is doing its best to improve the economic situation of Gazans. It has increased the number of work permits for Gazans from 7,000 to 17,000 in just two years and has now gone beyond even that number, providing more than 21,300 Gazans with work permits. And Jerusalem has made clear that if conditions are sufficiently peaceful, it is prepared to increase the number of such permits further still. Israel has similarly increased the work permits for Palestinians in the West Bank to more than 120,000. With these permits, Gazans can work in Israel and earn salaries seven times greater than what they can earn in Gaza – if that is, they can find work at all in the Strip. With these salaries, the Gazans working in Israel can support large numbers of people in their extended families. In fact, the only good economic news to report from Gaza is about an increase in the number of people who can now work in Israel.
Abdulrahim must know of the online protests against Hamas, and knows of the resentment and rage against Hamas felt by so many Gazans, but she fails to report on any of that. Hamas must be very pleased with Abdulrahim’s reporting. And so, it seems, is The New York Times.

Last month, swimmer Riley Gaines came to San Francisco State University to discuss the fairness of men competing against women. A man wearing a dress assaulted Gaines and a crazed trans mob forced the NCAA champion to take refuge in a barricaded room.
SFSU president Lynn Mahoney (pictured above right) said Gaines’ message was “deeply traumatic for many in our trans and LGBTQ+ communities,” and proclaimed, “To our trans community, please know how welcome you are. We will turn this moment into an opportunity to listen and learn about how we can better support you.” That’s a tough act to follow, but SFSU is up to the task.
“San Francisco State is trying to railroad a professor who showed a portrait of the prophet Muhammad in his history class,” reports Evan Gahr of the California Globe. “The school is investigating the professor for supposed harassment.”
Last fall, SFSU associate professor of history Maziar Behrooz was teaching his class on the history of the Islamic world between 500 and 1700. Professor Behrooz showed a drawing of the Prophet Muhammad, as he has done for many years, without any objection from the class. This time a single student claimed that all images of Muhammad were forbidden and complained to the department chair.
Behrooz countered that the student’s view is not shared by all Muslims, that the same portrait of Muhammad is sold at marketplaces in Tehran, and that many Shiite Muslims have drawings of Muhammad in their homes. The student then took his complaint to the next level.
In March, the university’s Office of Equity Programs and Compliance told Behrooz it was launching an investigation. According to the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) and the Middle East Studies Association of North America, the image of Muhammad was “pedagogically relevant to the course at issue.” Both groups asked SFSU to discontinue the investigation, on First Amendment and academic freedom grounds.
A mouthpiece for president Mahoney said SFSU had a “duty” to respond to all reports of discrimination, and harassment. Once an investigation is started, SFSU “has a limited ability to discuss it.” The complaining student, unnamed, isn’t talking to reporters.
Professor Behrooz would not tell the California Globe what happened in his April “interview” but did indicate that the issue is “pending.” That portends the possibility of discipline or worse.
In Minnesota, Hamline University recently fired adjunct professor Erica Lopez Prater for showing students images of the prophet Muhammad, including a 14th-century painting. The images prompted a complaint from at least one student.
Professor Prater’s purpose was to show that there is “no one monothetic Islamic culture.” FIRE and PEN America advanced the First Amendment and academic freedom arguments, and Professor Prater apologized. It was all to no avail.
Hamline bosses deemed the showing of the images “disrespectful and Islamophobic” and dismissed Lopez Prater. The proceedings against the professors raise disturbing issues.
At private and state institutions, Islamic law and custom are taking precedence over American law and academic liberties. When Professor Behrooz accepted the SFSU job, he did not cede his First Amendment rights. Freedom of choice also comes into play.
The complaining student was perfectly free to unroll at universities in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, or Qatar. That student chose a public American institution under American law. San Francisco State University has allowed the complaint of a single student, disputed on its own terms, to upend longstanding rights and practices. This development does not exhaust the concerns of Professor Behrooz.
Islam teaches that men are men and women are women, and also that Allah has made men superior to women. If men fear disobedience from a wife, they may beat her. Members of other religions are to be shunned, jihad waged against the unbelievers. And safe to say, there is no such thing as gay rights or trans rights under Islam.
So far, the LBGTQ+ community has not mounted a “peaceful” protest against Professor Behrooz or Muslim groups on campus. Were they to do so, it would be interesting to see how SFSU bosses would respond.
San Francisco State’s privileged “trans community” prefers to attack swimmer Riley Gaines, who stands five foot 7. She wants to discuss the fairness of competing against the likes of Lia Thomas, a 6–foot-one male, rudder intact, who thinks he’s a woman. A crazed mob menaces Gaines and SFSU basically sides with the attackers.
No word of any investigations of the sort Professor Behrooz must endure for exercising his academic freedom and displaying pedagogically relevant material. Everything’s up to date at Sharia State University, but they haven’t gone as far as they can go.

On Jan. 25 a young Moroccan national identified as Yassine Kanjaa carried out jihadist attacks in Algeciras, Spain, killing a sacristan and seriously wounding a priest in two different incidents.
The General Commissariat of Information, an intelligence service under Spain’s National Police, compiled two reports on the attacks dated Jan. 29 and Jan. 30. Europa Press recently gained access to them and on April 26 published details reconstructing events.
The reports state that according to Father Antonio Rodríguez Lucena, who was wounded, the attacker was not provoked: “Nobody did anything that could bother him.”
In his testimony, the priest said that Kanjaa told a parishioner that “the Christian faith is negative and must be eliminated.”
According to the reports to which Europa Press has had access, the attack began at 6:30 p.m. local time when Kanjaa entered San Isidro Church in Algecrias and began to argue with the parishioners.
After the terrorist stated his desire to eliminate the Christian faith, he “vehemently” said that “the only religion to follow is the Islamic religion,” according to the testimony of the priest who survived the attack.
The woman who opened the church daily testified that the attacker took a Bible that was there and started hitting the seating with it. She confronted the man, managed to snatch the Bible away from him, and asked him to leave.
At 7 p.m. the individual returned to the area outside the church. The faithful who were attending Mass could hear him shouting in Arabic. After Mass, Rodríguez wanted to find out what was happening.
At that moment, “the suspect, carrying a large machete in his hand, suddenly attacked the priest causing serious injuries,” the report states.
In his statement to police, the priest said that “a man dressed in black entered, who was heading towards the altar without saying anything.”
The priest waited for him at the altar with the idea of having an open way to escape. When the man got to the altar he brandished his weapon, which the priest hadn’t realized he was carrying.
When the priest tried to flee, he stumbled and felt the weapon strike him. The parishioners attended to the wound and shut the church door so the attacker couldn’t get back inside.
The weapon, according to another witness, was “a large blue machete.” Others described it as a “knife” or “a kind of katana,” a curved Japanese sword.
After this attack, Kanjaa went to the Virgin of La Palma church located about 650 feet away. According to a witness, along the way he ran into a Moroccan passerby, whom without saying a word he punched in the face, breaking his glasses. He then struck him twice more and accused him of practicing the wrong religion.
When he got to the Virgin of La Palma church, the attacker saw the sacristan, Diego Valencia, leaving through a back door of the church.
According to the police, Kanjaa struck him with several initial blows with his weapon. The sacristan tried to flee but the attacker caught up with him in Plaza Alta, threw him to the ground, gripped the katana with both hands and “raising his gaze to the sky and shouting a few words in Arabic, among which was heard ‘Allah,’ dealt him one last fatal blow.”…

04/28/2023 DRC (International Christian Concern) – The Church in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) continues to bear the brunt of terrorism from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), one of the many armed groups operating across the region that has vowed to kill more Christians to please Allah.
In ten days, North Kivu province has seen over 80 people killed and hundreds abducted by the ADF extremist group that claims alliance with the Islamic State. For decades, the ADF has killed, maimed, abducted, and displaced millions of people in North Kivu despite the presence of peacekeepers and local and regional troops in the troubled region.
In a statement, the Vicar of Babwisi Parish, where dozens of Christians have been killed, said, “April has turned out to be a month of bloodshed ironical of the expectation of having peace after celebrating the death and the resurrection of Christ Jesus. From the 7th to the 18th, the killings of Christians were numerous in the following entities: Mavete, Musandaba, Katere, and Mamungelesi, all in the West Oicha.
The vicar went on to break down the figures, “On Friday, April 7, and Saturday, April 8, 2023, 26 people were killed by the ADF rebels in Mavete and Musandaba villages, Beni territory. Among them were members of Babwisi parish which is Beni diocese, where eight men were killed leaving widows and children.”
“On Tuesday 18th April 2023, 45 people were killed by these same ADF rebels this time in Katere and Mamungelesi in one night of unfathomable horror, where men, women, and children were slaughtered like chicken. During his attack, we lost one of our evangelists together with his wife. His name is Emmanuel Kambale. The parish is devastated. The victim in the machete murder – an Algerian (31) – was butchered at the U6 station nine days ago – the eXXpress reported. Five or six, according to eyewitness reports even up to ten men, are said to have intercepted the later victim in the station, followed him over the ramp and killed him in front of the entrance. Two perpetrators with machetes are said to have partially severed the Algerian’s hands and feet while he was still alive, as reported by oe24.
Due to the high blood loss, the victim died a little later in a hospital. One of the suspected attackers – also an Algerian (24) – fled when the police arrived and jumped into the Danube Canal. The officers fished him out, the suspect denies everything: “I wasn’t there, I don’t know the victim.”
No public manhunt for killer gang The police did not give any details about the crime, which not only scared the population in Brigittenau. They refrain from publishing mug shots. While this is always considered appropriate for petty ATM thieves, it does not seem to be the case for a brutal gang presumably from the drug milieu. To this day, the suspects are roaming freely in Vienna unmolested.
Or do other reasons for the secrecy of the police play a role? Don’t you want to say anything because it would lead to an outcry among the population?
The police remain silent about the background The crime is fatally reminiscent of methods that repeatedly cause serious criticism of outdated legal practice. Most recently, the public cutting off of the right hand and left foot of a thief in Somalia caused an international sensation.
The type of punishment for thieves is recorded in Surah 5:38 in the Koran as a “warning from Allah,” but it is not used in modern Islam. In Islamist circles with a harsh interpretation of the law (Sharia), on the other hand, it is. For repeat offenders, there is the option of chopping off the right hand as well as the option of severing the left foot.

This weekend, a group of Christians tried to hold talks in central Gothenburg, but instead they were exposed to a large gang chanting “Takbir – Allahu akbar”.
It was on Saturday that the Christian group distributed materials and preached in Nordstan. A group of youths surrounded and then tried to disrupt the preachers.
“They have done this several times. There is probably a connection between their holiday and their actions,” says one of the preachers to Samnytt.
Law enforcement officers turned the gang away from the scene.

Afghanistan was not a one-off. Leaving Americans behind enemy lines has become the new normal.
“It is not our standard procedure to evacuate American citizens living abroad,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Friday.
Now the media is tentativelypointing out that most other countries, from the UK and France to India and Italy are evacuating their people. America stands alone in disgracefully refusing to do so. And that’s entirely on Biden.
Despite a number of nations evacuating their citizens, the US government has continued to say that the conditions are not conducive to a civilian evacuation. All US government personnel were evacuated in a military operation this weekend. US officials have said they are in “close communication” with US citizens and “actively facilitating” their departure from Sudan.
Is this an impeachable offense? If not, maybe it ought to be.
Exhausted and terrified, Americans and other foreign nationals have been struggling to escape the fighting in Sudan, cramming into crowded port terminals, squeezing onto filthy buses and begging strangers for a ride to an airport in a desperate bid to reach safety…
By contrast, Britain, France and Germany have sent airplanes to Sudan to help evacuate their citizens, and other countries, such as India, have organized convoys to Port Sudan on the Red Sea.
An American engineer said he had been searching fruitlessly for four days for a ride, after the tires of his car were shot out, in an effort to leave the country with his four U.S. citizen siblings, including two adolescent sisters, and his elderly British mother. Artillery and missile fire have been exploding around them, and the girls were scared, he said.
“No one wants to come to my area. … The shooting is heavy and next to us there is looting,” said the engineer, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to protect his privacy. “They could at least give us guidelines or instructions on the safe routes to take and a pickup point.”
A few Americans have made it onto flights run by European allies out of an airfield 13 miles north of Khartoum. The French, for instance, have taken at least 500 people of 41 nationalities. Photographs from the airfield show burly European soldiers in body armor guarding exhausted families.
America is back! Finally, the adults are in charge. And that means abandoning Americans while leaving it to the French to evacuate them.

As the violent struggle for power over Sudan reaches the one-week mark, the Biden administration is sticking firmly to its warning for private citizens: don’t expect to be rescued.
While the administration says it is working towards evacuating American embassy staff still stranded in the country, it makes no promises about other Americans who could get let behind.

Principal Deputy State Department spokesperson Vedant Patel said that officials had been in touch with several hundred of the estimated 16,000 U.S. citizens in Sudan concerning “security measures and other precautions they can take on their own.”
Late Sunday evening the foreign affairs ministry said in a statement the “first phase” of the evacuation from Sudan had been carried out with the transfer of 105 Italians and 31 foreigners, including Portuguese, Australian, Greek, British, and Swedish nationals, on board an Italian Air Force C130 and a Spanish Air Force AM400 to Djibouti.
Relatively weak European countries are not only getting their people out but also foreigners. Biden won’t even evacuate Americans.
On Friday, National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby discussed the challenges of evacuating the embassy, saying it’s “not as simple as jumping in a taxicab” and that all U.S. government personnel had not yet been consolidated in a single location.
If only we had some sort of globe-spanning military that we spend hundreds of billions of dollars on that could undertake such a process and then perhaps secure our borders against 2 million illegal invaders.
Oh well. If Americans left behind in Sudan want to get out, they need to learn to play basketball, go lesbian and burn the American flag.

Old Joe Biden’s ghostwriters issued a statement Thursday to congratulate Muslims on Eid al-Fitr, the feast marking the end of the fasting-by-day-and-gorging-by-night month of Ramadan. Predictably, it was anodyne and obsequious in the extreme, with Biden celebrating how Muslims “decorate their homes, give gifts to loved ones, wear new clothes, and visit family and friends.” The faux president is made to add: “I am moved by the generosity that is shown by families that can provide food and give charity to those in need through Zakat-al-Fitr.” In the course of all this flattery, Biden’s writer drops in a serious note: there is now a U.S. government task force dedicated to fighting “Islamophobia.”
The statement quickly shifts from telling us how wonderful it is that Muslims wear new clothes and visit family and friends to depicting Muslims as victims: “Eid al-Fitr marks the completion of a holy month dedicated to devotion, charity, and reflection—a time when we also remember Muslim communities around the world that are enduring conflict, poverty, hunger, and disease and those that are displaced from their homes.” That served to set up the big announcement. Biden’s ghostwriter continued: “As we celebrate our blessings this Eid, let us also recommit ourselves to the tireless work of building peace and standing up for the rights and dignity of all people.” When the White House writers start depicting Old Joe babbling about peace and human rights, you know something bad is coming.
Doing this work for peace and human dignity will apparently require new restrictions on speech: “My Administration is also committed to addressing all forms of hate, including Islamophobia. This is why I established an interagency task force with senior government officials to tackle this and related challenges and encourage every American to build a more inclusive nation.” Good because Lord knows we aren’t “inclusive” enough yet. Every last person in the world doesn’t live here on the taxpayer dime yet, so there is a long way to go.
Meanwhile, exactly what pressing need is this interagency task force designed to address? Are Muslims in the U.S. really subjected to such widespread discrimination and harassment that the feds need to step in? The record shows otherwise. FBI hate crime statistics show that Muslims are rarely targeted in hate crimes, which far more often victimize Jews and others. In fact, anti-Muslim hate crimes actually declined by 42% from 2020 to 2021. But those facts don’t fit the narrative that Muslims face widespread discrimination and harassment in the United States, and so the facts have to take a back seat.
And how is the new “interagency task force with senior government officials” going to “tackle” “Islamophobia”? No doubt we will now be inundated with taxpayer-funded material about how wonderful Islam is. In the nature of things, however, there will still be human disputes, and some of them will involve Muslims. Now that “Islamophobia” has been established as targeted by the government, these disputes will all be ascribed to “Islamophobia” and offered as evidence of how urgently needed this “interagency task force” really is. The “Islamophobia” task force will therefore likely enjoy ever-increasing budgets. That’s how government agencies work: they have to justify their existence, so they keep having to find more and more of the thing they’re supposed to be stamping out.
Most importantly, since the Biden regime is now officially committed to efforts to convince us of the wonderfulness of Islam, it is not likely to look kindly upon critics of the religion, including opponents of jihad violence and Sharia oppression of women. Will the interagency task force make any efforts to protect the right of Americans to oppose jihad terror and Sharia oppression? Will it be careful to distinguish such criticism from the alleged hatred that this task force is supposed to be combating, or will it act upon the assumption that any and all criticism of Islam, and even of jihad terror, subjects Muslims to “hate” and must accordingly be silenced?
Since the Left has been insisting that opposition to jihad violence is “hate” ever since 9/11, my money is on the latter. But this is a preposterous claim that, if followed logically (which of course it never will be, as this “Islamophobia” business is fundamentally illogical), would preclude any criticism of anything as possibly leading to “hate” and violence. In practice, it will preclude all criticism of anything the Left favors. And the freedom of speech will be eroded even further.

Interestingly, in its alleged fact-check the propaganda portal Alt News conveniently skipped the handles of infamous Indian Muslims who were among the first to spread the fake news. Stop Hindu Hate Advocacy Network (SHHAN) pointed out how Alt News’s co-founder Mohammed Zubair did not name handles like YehLog and OpusofAli in the fact-check.
The same Indian Muslim Twitter handles have always at been at the forefront of spreading anti-India and anti-Hindu propaganda to further the ‘Muslims under attack’ narrative. Despite being called out multiple times, they continue to fearmonger without any backlash because they do not get called out by so-called fact-checkers….

In 2014, Abdullah Hasan was a recipient of the CAIR-SFBA Islamic Scholarship Fund. He went on to defend BDS for the ACLU. Now he’s an assistant press secretary at the White House.
CAIR is an Islamist organization that was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in one of the largest terror financing trials in America. Its founders were linked to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, and it has opposed efforts to protect the United States against Islamic terrorism.
“Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant,” CAIR co-founder Omar Ahmad had declared.
When Hasan received his scholarship in 2014-2015, the Islamic Scholarship Fund’s board members included Hatem Bazian, one of the country’s most notorious Islamic bigots, the co-founder of Students for Justice in Palestine, and an alleged supporter of Hamas, who has spent decades trafficking in antisemitism.
Hasan’s fellow CAIR-SFBA recipients included Salmah Rizvi, a former fellow at Al-Haq, a BDS group listed by Israel as a terrorist organization over its connections to the PFLP. Al-Haq’s general director is allegedly a key terrorist leader in the PFLP. Despite this background, Rizvi got an intelligence position in the Obama administration and produced materials that went into the President’s Daily Brief. After leaving the administration, she bailed out her best friend,
Urooj Rahman, who had been accused of throwing Molotov cocktails at a police car.
After conducting research around “primary Islamic texts and within a post-9/11 surveillance culture”, Hasan went into activism, opposing anti-BDS measures on behalf of the ACLU.
In an op-ed co-written by Hasan, he defended “lawful boycotts of Israel” and claimed that opposition to BDS was a “loyalty test”.
In 2019, Hasan ranted that, “Islamophobia is rampant even in our highest democratic institutions” like the Supreme Court.
Now he represents the Biden administration as one of its press secretaries.
Abdullah Hasan is one of a record number of over 100 Muslim staffers in the Biden administration. The growth has been especially astonishing considering that MOSAIC, an association of Muslim federal employees, could only gather 110 personnel for its second Iftar in 2016 and there are now almost as many aligned Muslims within the administration.
Kamala Harris commemorated Ramadan by posing with most of them on the steps of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building and described them as “our administration’s incredible Muslim team.”
Biden’s incredible Muslim team includes men and women whom we have already profiled like Maher Bitar, a former executive board member of Hatem Bazian’s Students for Justice in Palestine and anti-Israel BDS activist who became Biden’s Senior Director for Intelligence on the National Security Council, Reema Dodin, Biden’s first “Palestinian” staffer who had defended suicide bombings, and Mazen Basrawi, Biden’s new Muslim liaison, who attended a conference honoring one of the unindicted co-conspirators of the World Trade Center bombing,
But there are many others who have not been fully investigated or profiled.
They include Aya Ibrahim, who started out as a legislative fellow to Rep. Rashida Tlaib, one of the most vocal terrorist supporters in Congress, and then a legislative assistant and adviser to fellow Squad member Rep. Ayanna Pressley. Biden took her on and brought her into the National Economic Council and then elevated her to a senior adviser in the White House Office of Technology and Policy only six years after she had graduated with a BA in Political Science.
Sameera Fazili briefly served as Deputy Director of the National Economic Council in the Biden Administration. At Harvard, she had served as president of the Harvard Islamic Society the year that it had conducted a fundraising dinner for the Holy Land Foundation: a Hamas front group.
(The event, part of the Harvard Islamic Society’s Islamic Awareness Week was co-chaired by Faiz Shakir who went on to become a top adviser to Senator Harry Reid, worked for Nancy Pelosi, and became Bernie Sanders’s campaign manager.)
At Harvard, Fazili had assailed counterterrorism expert Steve Emerson.
Fazili had a past with Karamah: Muslim Women for Human Rights which claims that “Islamic jurisprudence is the source of the knowledge base essential to the promotion of the rights of Muslim women”. The organization has defended Sharia law.
According to the Middle East Forum’s Islamist Watch, Fazili was a leading member of Stand With Kashmir: “best known for praising and defending violent Islamists in South Asia.” Her organization had called for the release of Islamic terrorists including supporters of Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda.
Uzra Zeya started out as a staffer at the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs: an informal arm of the Arab Lobby started by former diplomats to Muslim countries. While there Zeya helped compile material for a book claiming that Jews secretly control the United States. Biden chose Zeya as his undersecretary for civilian security, democracy, and human rights.
After the Muslim Brotherhood was overthrown, Zeya complained that “there are activists — including some in Egypt — who face criminal charges and intimidation for the peaceful exercise of their rights.”
Salman Ahmed, a former UN Peacekeeping official, was picked by Biden to oversee his transition team’s national security and foreign policy review before taking over as the Director of the Secretary of State’s Policy Planning Staff. When Biden allowed the Taliban to take Kabul, Ahmed was sent to negotiate with the Taliban in Qatar.
Rashad Hussain, Biden’s “ambassador for religious freedom”, who has a degree in Islamic Studies and had memorized the Koran, had been Obama’s envoy to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. During his time working for Obama, he had been caught lying about his past defense of an Islamic terrorist. Hussain had appeared at events with Muslim Brotherhood leaders. His wife, Isra Bhatty, became famous for volunteering as a translator for Islamic terrorists in Gitmo before moving on to a senior position at the Justice Department.
Even after Hussain’s appointment, he appeared at an Islamic Society of North America convention whose speakers had “promoted anti-Hindu rhetoric, called for the release of convicted terror supporters and for the establishment of a caliphate.” “One activist who spoke at the convention called convicted Hamas terror supporters, ‘the finest men.'”
Brenda Abdelall, the daughter of Egyptian immigrants, had participated in anti-Israel BDS protests in college. In a newspaper op-ed in 2002, she had falsely accused Israel of “ethnic cleansing” as part of a “brutal occupation”.
“We cannot let the entire population of Palestinians suffer any longer, nor can we let the entire population of Chechens suffer either,” the Muslim activist had insisted.
Abdelall went on to work for the ACLU and then Muslim Advocates: a group working to stop America from fighting against Islamic terrorism. She taught a course at the University of Michigan Law School on ‘Islamophobia and the Law’. joined “Arab Americans for Biden” and was rewarded with a position at the Department of Homeland Security as “assistant secretary for partnership and engagement”.
Even after this appointment, Abdelall appeared at the same convention as Hussain where speakers had called for a caliphate ruled by Islamic law and for freeing Islamic terrorists.
This is a snapshot of not all, but some of the President’s Islamists. As the number of Islamic staffers in the administration continues to grow, it becomes difficult to keep track of more than a few of them. What was once ‘entryism’ has become a hijacking. And yet what we do see is troubling. Despite the denials, looking into the backgrounds of some of Biden’s more than 100 Islamic staffers, it doesn’t take much to turn up support for terrorists, hostility to America and Israel, and associations with the Muslim Brotherhood and its front groups.
The Biden administration is not, as some call it, “soft on terror”; it’s a Trojan horse of terror.

This will mean more crackdowns on the freedom of speech. This is because the term “Islamophobia” is an illegitimate conflation of two distinct phenomena: vigilante attacks against innocent Muslims, which are never justified, and honest analysis of the motivating ideology of jihad terror, which is always necessary. WASHINGTON: US President Joe Biden assured Muslims in his Eid message on Friday that his administration was committed to addressing Islamophobia as an ideology of hate.
“As we celebrate our blessings this Eid, let us also recommit ourselves to the timeless work of building peace and standing up for the rights and dignity of all people,” he said in a message released by the White House.
“My administration is also committed to addressing all forms of hate, including Islamophobia. This is why I established an inter-agency task force with senior government officials to tackle this and related challenges and encourage every American to build a more inclusive nation,” he added.
This year, the United Nations observed the first International Day to Combat Islamophobia on March 15. Since Pakistan had initiated the proposal, it was invited to chair the first observation at UN headquarters in New York.
March 15 was chosen as it is the anniversary of the 2019 Christchurch mosque shootings, in which 51 people were killed.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, however, focused on remembering those who were away from their homes on Eid due to violence and persecution. “As we celebrate, let us not forget those who are unable to do so in the safety and comfort of their homes due to conflict, violence, persecution, or humanitarian crises,” he said in his Eid message.
He assured those separated from their loved ones on Eid that the United States would continue to work to reunite broken families. “The United States remains unwavering in its commitment to promoting peace, justice, and religious freedom for all. We wish you a blessed and joyful Eidul Fitr. Eid Mubarak,” he said.
President Biden said he was “moved by the generosity” shown during Ramazan and Eid when Muslims provide food and give charity to those in need. “We are proud to celebrate Eidul Fitr at the White House again this year to honour inspiring Muslim Americans who are making contributions across our country,” the US president said….

Last year, United Press International announced that more U.S. public schools were closing for the Islamic holiday Eid al-Fitr. Last Month in San Francisco, schools rescheduled spring break to include Eid.
Since all are deemed equal under the law, should schools close for and accommodate every faith tradition? On the other side, there are those who would argue that there should not be Christmas holidays, completely dismissing the Christian foundations of America. Islamic countries, meanwhile, do not close schools for Christmas.
CAIR has been influential in advancing Islamic interests above everyone else’s all over America, despite its claim of simply advocating for Muslim civil rights. In heavily Muslim Minneapolis, the city recently allowed the Islamic call to prayer to be broadcast over loudspeakers five times a day.

RESOLUTION
Recognizing the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, commending a month of fasting and spiritual renewal, and extending best wishes to Muslims in the United States and across the globe for a joyous and meaningful observance of Eid al-Fitr.
Whereas Ramadan is the holy month of fasting and spiritual renewal for Muslims worldwide;
Whereas this month of sacrifice and contemplation began at the end of March 2023, based on the visual sightings of the crescent moon;
Whereas Muslims in the United States and around the world observe Ramadan by fasting, emphasizing self-discipline, worship, charity, and reading the Holy Quran to improve patience, humility, and spirituality;
Whereas Ramadan continued until the celebration of Eid al-Fitr;
Whereas Eid al-Fitr begins each year with the sighting of the new moon, signifying a month-long end to fasting and reflection for all Muslim followers;
Whereas it is estimated that there are approximately 1,800,000,000 Muslims worldwide;
Whereas over 4,500 Muslims serve on active duty and over 2,300 Muslims serve as selected reserve personnel in the United States Armed Forces;
Whereas there are over 200 elected officials who identify as Muslim;
Whereas it is estimated that there are 1,200,000 Muslim voters in the United States;
Whereas the Muslim population has been growing in the United States and today’s American Muslim population is a tapestry of ethnic, racial, linguistic, social, and economic groups;
Whereas American Muslims have contributed to every part of society to make advancements in medicine, science, engineering, economics, sports, education, and the law; and
Whereas the observance of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan has concluded with Eid al-Fitr, a three-day celebration: Now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That—
(1) to demonstrate solidarity with and support for members of the community of Islam in the United States and throughout the world, the House of Representatives recognizes the importance of the Islamic faith; and
(2) in observance of and out of respect for Ramadan tradition, the Muslim holy month of fasting and spiritual renewal, the House of Representatives offers its best wishes to all Muslims celebrating Eid al-Fitr, the conclusion of Ramadan, while also expressing its deepest respect to Muslims in the United States and worldwide on this important occasion.

These are serious grounds for impeachment.
Nearly a year after I wrote this, House hearings made it clear that the Biden administration is still illegally obstructing the Afghanistan watchdog.
In June, the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction’s office (SIGAR), dispatched letters to Secretary of State Blinken and Samantha Power complaining that the State Department and USAID were stonewalling its investigation of waste, corruption and terror cash.
“Two SIGAR audits are also being hindered by a lack of cooperation from State and USAID. The first evaluates your agencies’ compliance with the laws and regulations prohibiting transfers of funds to members of the Taliban and the Haqqani Network,” the letter to Power complained.
Instead of turning over the information, Blinken and Power’s people have lawyered up.
“A State official has informed SIGAR that department staff have received internal direction to not engage with or speak to SIGAR without prior clearance from State legal counsel,” the open letter that was also sent to members of Congress revealed.
Illegally refusing to cooperate with an inspector general and then using State Department lawyers to impede any investigation in a matter involving possible terrorist financing is shocking.
Fast forward to late April 2023 and SIGAR is still being illegally obstructed by the Biden regime.
Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) John Sopko told the House Oversight Committee. “Unfortunately, as I sit here today, I cannot assure this committee or the American taxpayer we are not currently funding the Taliban.”
“I don’t trust the Taliban as far as you can throw them. And the information we’re getting … is that the Taliban are already diverting funds,” Sopko told lawmakers. “I haven’t seen a starving Taliban fighter on TV. They all seem to be fat, dumb and happy. I see a lot of starving Afghan children on TV, so I’m wondering where all this funding is going.”
Sopko said the problems with oversight are exacerbated by the State Department and the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) “failure to fully cooperate” with SIGAR audits and other inquiries.
“The lack of cooperation by State … and to a lesser extent USAID, is unprecedented in the nearly 12 years that I have been the SIGAR,” said Sopko, who was appointed to his role in 2012 under the Obama administration.
He said the agency’s refusal to fully cooperate has led to a significant portion of the watchdog’s work, including five reports for the Oversight Committee, being “hindered and delayed.”
In addition to obstructing the Afghanistan watchdog, the Biden administration has decided to also obstruct Congress.
The State Department on Wednesday violated a congressional Republican subpoena to hand over a sensitive diplomatic cable about the U.S. exit from Afghanistan.
The subpoena was issued late last month by chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) and is part of Republican efforts to investigate the Biden administration over the chaotic and deadly pullout from Afghanistan at the end of August 2021.
State Department Principal Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel said in a statement to The Hill that, “Discussions with the committee about next steps are ongoing,” and said Secretary of State Antony Blinken offered to brief the chairman and the committee next week on the contents of the dissent cable without providing the actual document.
Discussions are ongoing.
Trump was impeached the first time for a whole lot less than this. We’ve had a lot of talk about impeaching Biden. But these are actually serious grounds for impeachment. The entire Afghanistan mess isn’t behind us, it’s still ongoing and so is the cover-up. Terrorism financing is a serious business and should be taken seriously.

In Barcelona, the historic Maimonides synagogue was recently vandalized, with pro-Palestinian graffiti scrawled on its outer wall. This took place in a city whose officials, above all the mayor, have created an anti-Israel atmosphere that Jews in the city believe contributed to the vandalism. The Jewish community in the Spanish city of Barcelona has blamed the anti-Israel stances of local political leaders for creating “fertile ground” for antisemitic acts such as the vandalism of the historic Maimonides Synagogue on Monday.
In a statement released on Monday, the Jewish Community of Barcelona (CIB) denounced the vandalism as an “antisemitic attack.”
The vandals, identified as three men in some local news reports, painted the slogans “Free Palestine from the River to the Sea” and “Solidarity with the Palestinian People” in large red letters on the synagogue’s outer wall earlier in the day. The first slogan refers to the Palestine Liberation Organization’s goal of a single state of Palestine to replace Israel in the territory between the Mediterranean Sea and the River Jordan.
Noting that this slogan “has traditionally been used by Arab radicals to demand that the Jewish people living in Israel be thrown into the sea,” the CIB stated that “holding Jews in general and, in this case, the Jews of Catalonia, to be responsible for the policies of the government and the State of Israel is an obvious example of antisemitism.”
In February, Barcelona’s Mayor, Ada Colau, announced that the city was suspending ties with Israel in protest at what she termed its “apartheid” policies. In a letter to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, she said that the suspension would remain in place the suspension would remain in place “until the Israeli authorities put an end to the system of violations of the Palestinian people and fully comply with the obligations imposed on them by international law and the various United Nations resolutions.”…
As for the Barcelona Mayor’s “suspending” of the city’s ties with Tel Aviv, one of the cities with which it had been twinned, Ada Colau is badly misinformed. She mentions the “apartheid” practiced by Israel. There is none, and the Israelis ought to present her with the mountain of evidence that undermines her claim. Israeli Arabs enjoy full political, religious, and social rights. They serve on the Supreme Court, in the Knesset, in the diplomatic corps. The chairman of Israel’s largest bank, the Bank Leumi, is an Arab. Jews and Arabs work together in the same offices and factories and are healed in the same hospitals by the same medical personnel consisting of both Jews and Arabs. They play on the same sports teams and on the same orchestras. The captain of Israel’s national soccer team is an Arab. Jews and Arabs own restaurants, clothing stores, and high-tech start-ups together. There is only one area where Jews and Arabs are treated differently. Jews must, while Arabs may, serve in the military.
Mayor Colau claims that there is a “system of violations of the Palestinian people.” What is she talking about? She clearly is unaware of the significance of the Mandate for Palestine’s continuing relevance, with its call, in Article 6, for the holder of the Mandate, Great Britain, to “facilitate Jewish immigration” and “close settlement by Jews on the land.” What land? All the land from the Golan Heights in the north to the Red Sea in the south, and from the Jordan River in the east to the Mediterranean in the west — in other words, all of the area “between the river and the sea.” Perhaps Mayor Colau thinks that the provisions of the Mandate can simply be ignored, but on what basis? The Mandate was one of several created in 1922, by the League of Nations, and those mandates were recognized as of continuing validity even after the League of Nations had disbanded, to be replaced by the United Nations. Article 80 of the U.N. Charter, known as “the Jewish People’s article,” committed that organization to continue to fulfill the terms of any mandates still in existence, which in practice meant the Mandate for Palestine, as the other mandates — leading to the creation of Arab states in Iraq, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon — had already been brought to a successful close. The Jewish state was supposed to include all of Judea and Samaria (which Jordan renamed as the West Bank in 1950); the only reason it did not is that Jordan’s Arab Legion managed to seize, and hold onto, that territory, from 1949 to 1967. In that year, Israel’s victory in the Six-Day War allowed it to exercise its pre-existing right to Judea and Samaria.
And on what basis does Colau think that she, or anyone else, can ignore another source for the Israeli claim to hold onto much of the West Bank, which is UN Security Council Resolution 242 (passed unanimously on Nov. 22, 1967)? UN Security Council Resolution 242, as its main author Lord Caradon repeatedly explained, allowed Israel to retain any territory won in the Six-Day War that it required if it was to have, in Resolution 242’s key phrase, “secure [i.e. defensible] and recognized boundaries.”
Finally, what principle of “international law” does Ada Colau think Israel has breached? Isn’t it true that in a successful war of self-defense, a state may hold onto territory from which the aggression was launched against it? Why was Italy entitled to hold onto the Alto Adige (formerly the Sudtirol), taken from Austria after World War I? Why did Poland, after World War II, quite justifiably keep much of East Prussia, which had been part of Germany? Why does Russia hold onto Kaliningrad (formerly Germany’s Königsberg) even today? No one objects to those and other changes to the world map that occur after wars have ended. But some want to apply special rules to Israel that they apply nowhere else.
When Mayor Colau refers to resolutions passed by the UN, what of it? The UN has become, ever since the Six-Day War, obsessively anti-Israel, a kangaroo court with the Jewish state perennially in the dock. The UN has no moral authority to lecture or hector Israel. No fair-minded people have observed the UN’s mistreatment of Israel, extending back to the “Zionism is Racism” Resolution 3379, passed by the General Assembly in 1975, mistreatment that continues right up to the present, when more resolutions condemning Israel are passed at the General Assembly than are passed about all the other 193 states put together, would accept the UN as a moral arbiter on anything to do with Israel and the Palestinians.
Colau’s decision to cut Barcelona’s “twinned cities” ties to Tel Aviv was symbolically rejected by the Barcelona City Council, which, however, does not have the power to override the Mayor’s decision, but showed, at least, that her view did not express a consensus; rather, it was an expression of her own deep antipathy to the Jewish state.
When in 1998, Tel Aviv and Barcelona entered into a “twinned cities” link, they included a third city – Gaza City. Now Barcelona, having cut its ties to Tel Aviv, has been left to be twinned only with Gaza City, an impoverished mess under Hamas rule, which spends more money on armaments and terror tunnels, and the private bank accounts of its leaders, than it does on the wellbeing of its citizens. There was a great deal that Barcelona derived from being “twinned” with Tel Aviv, which is both a world cultural center and a center of finance and high tech. Mayor Colau doesn’t care about the cultural and business loss. Now her city will continue to be twinned with Gaza City, a place famous only for its terror tunnels and its Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists. Is this what the people of Catalunya want?
When Ada Colau ended Barcelona’s ties to Tel Aviv, she was hurting her own city far more than she was damaging Tel Aviv. Later on, the same day when she made her decision, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, the Mayor of Madrid, accused Barcelona’s leader of antisemitism and tweeted that he had written to Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai to share “Madrid’s commitment to democracy and freedom.” He would be delighted to replace Barcelona: “It would be an honor to be twinned with Tel Aviv,” he added. Madrid has twice the population as Barcelona and closer ties with the business and technology hub of the Start-Up Nation could bring economic benefits, including a boost to Madrid’s own high-tech sector.
The instantaneous intervention by the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida. who quickly offered to replace Barcelona as the “partner” of Tel Aviv, makes good sense for both Madrid and Tel Aviv. The offer was just as readily accepted. Barcelona’s Mayor has now deprived her own city of the many benefits – economic, social, and cultural – to be derived from ties to bustling Tel Aviv, and Madrid has now snapped them up in Barcelona’s stead.
In a separate, harshly-worded statement, the Conference of European Rabbis (CER) accused Colau of being ultimately responsible for the vandalism of the synagogue.
“Every additional case of vandalism and bloodshed as a result of this unfortunate choice will be on her hands,” Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt of the CER declared.
Ada Colau’s ending ties with Tel Aviv both reflect, and help to thicken, an anti-Israel and antisemitic atmosphere in her city that gives rise to such things as the defacing of the venerable Maimonides Synagogue. Ada Colau must be very proud.
