The Texas National Guard has seized control of a park at the U.S. southern border and is now blocking Border Patrol from entering the area – part of an effort to stop the surge of illegal immigration into Texas and a move likely to significantly increase tensions between Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and the federal government. The state government has taken control of Shelby Park in the city of Eagle Pass, Texas, which has been at the center of the migrant crisis that has engulfed the U.S. border. Authorities have now set up razor wire and fences to block off the area.

Canada and America do not see eye-to-eye on the issue of immigration, despite the open-door policies of both “progressive” governments. Notwithstanding the Southern invasion of the United States, the Biden administration is asking Canada to reestablish visas for Mexicans, so as to staunch the flow of Mexicans making their way into the U.S. from Canada. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is also under pressure from the province of Quebec’s premier, since the influx of illegals has pushed Quebec to “breaking point.”

The Canadian government suddenly appears willing to cooperate with the U.S. and Quebec. To understand why, let’s revisit some key historical events. In 2009, then-Prime Minister Stephen Harper established a requirement of visas for Mexicans. This was intended to put an end to bogus asylum claims and reduce the rate of illegal migration. Predictably, Leftists harshly criticized this measure; they have demonstrated no foresight in their propensity to advocate for open-door migration policies. By 2012, Harper was softening his stance due to pressure from them, and wanted conciliation with Mexico. He experienced renewed pressure to drop the visa requirement in 2014. By 2016, the Liberals were “working with diligence” to end the Mexican visa requirement. Not long after that, Justin Trudeau finally dropped it.

Then something unexpected happened. In April 2023, the U.S. asked Canada to reimpose its visa requirements for Mexico to end the surge of crossings from the Canadian border into the United States. The request came despite the Biden administration’s allowing multitudes to cross into the U.S. from Mexico. The Biden administration wasn’t concerned about its southern border, but about Mexicans who were entering Canada and then making their way into the U.S. through easy entrance points, and remaining there. Canada’s 5,525-mile-long land border with the United States is the longest international border in the world. Of course, the number of Mexicans coming into the U.S. from Canada hardly compared with the multitude of illegals entering from Mexico, but far-Left insanity knows no limits. The latest: “Trudeau’s Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc said he and Immigration Minister Marc Miller were considering visas and other measures.” The quick switch was prompted by the no-nonsense Quebec Premier Francois Legault.

“‘Breaking point’: Legault asks Trudeau to slow influx of asylum seekers,” Canadian Press, January 18, 2024:

Quebec Premier Francois Legault is asking Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to slow the influx of asylum seekers entering his province, which he said is nearing a “breaking point.”

Legault made his request in an official letter to Trudeau sent Wednesday afternoon, a copy of which was obtained by The Canadian Press.

“We are very close to the breaking point due to the excessive number of asylum seekers arriving in Quebec month after month. "The situation has become unsustainable,” Legault wrote.

He said that in 2022, Quebec took in more asylum seekers than the rest of the country combined.

The closure of the unofficial Roxham Road crossing point south of Montreal in August 2023 “momentarily” slowed the flow, Legault said. “However, the arrivals have continued to increase at airports. The number of people arriving on a visitor visa and applying for asylum is also increasing significantly.”

Nearly 60,000 new asylum seekers were registered in Quebec in the first 11 months of 2023, which has put “very significant pressure” on services, the premier writes.

“Asylum seekers have trouble finding a place to live, which contributes to accentuating the housing crisis,” the letter said. “Many end up in homeless shelters, which are overflowing.”….

Justin Trudeau cannot afford more bad publicity. Support for his leadership is also at “breaking point,” despite his comical efforts to denigrate the Opposition. Elections are planned for the fall of next year. This describes in a nutshell the situation in Canada:

Trudeau’s “joke” about bribing the media in 2019 wasn’t really a joke, despite the best efforts by his cronies to spin news to his benefit. The Western Standard reported:

Given the shabby state of Canada’s economy, its levels of divisiveness, and its record on various freedoms, it isn’t to Trudeau’s advantage to enter the ring against the Quebec premier Francois Legault. Without pressure, most people recognize that the Trudeau government would continue with its open-door migration policies. But the government is now in a quandary and is willing to do whatever it takes, including flip-flopping on this issue. According to Canada’s Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc, Canada is currently “looking at a number of measures that would, in fact, put us in a position to have done what’s necessary to ensure that these flights directly from Mexico don’t become sort of an indirect way to get access to Canada and to claim asylum.” How times change when the Liberals are afraid of losing power.

When James Eaton, a mentally unstable leftist who had praised Hamas, shot and wounded three Arab Muslim men outside his home, the media eagerly diverted attention from the crime wave to the shooter, who was conveniently white, while falsely blaming it on Islamophobia.

The discredited hoax was not only trying to rally support for terrorists, but also to distract attention from the real perpetrators of the violence that has overtaken Bernie’s old city.

The shooters in Burlington, VT are much more likely to be Muslim male teens.

Another recent shooting out of Burlington made the national news when Hussein Mohamed, the underage son of Somali immigrants who don’t speak English, shot and killed Madden, a local 14-year-old boy. It was reported that “state police were able to make an arrest despite at least two eyewitnesses from the car providing multiple false statements about the crime.”

The murder wave in Burlington was touched off in 2022 when Abdiaziz Abdhikadir, 19, shot and killed Hussein Mubarak, 21.

Abdiaziz Abdhikadir had been part of a Somali Muslim refugee family profiled by the New York Times under the headline “U.S. a Place of Miracles for Somali Refugees.” Of that family, one son was convicted of assault with a firearm, another of “aggravated assault for shooting a man in November 2020” and Abdiaziz Abdhikadir was the grandson of that same family.

Abdhikadir had allegedly become a member of a Somali gang that stole cars while “wearing surgical gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints behind” and two of them had attacked a man in broad daylight while wearing ski masks.

Mubarak had been born in a refugee camp before his family was resettled in America, where his “older and younger siblings” spent time in jail, while he turned to selling drugs.

Reports of the incident and other violent encounters in Burlington are littered with mentions of drug dealing, stolen cars and guns, shootings in garages and names like Abdirahman Mohamed, Ahmed Mohamed, Badal Khadka and Abukar Hilowle.

Abukar Hilowle was accused of a few shootings, including one in which he allegedly shot the driver of the car he was in, resulting in a car crash, and another in which he shot two middle-aged American men on the street, one of whom had told him to “chill”, but the Muslim perpetrator claimed that he was responding to “racial slurs” by his two victims.

In 2022 it was reported that, “by mid-summer, about half of the city’s gunfire incidents were connected to a small group of new American young men.” The inaccurate euphemism “new Americans“ was being used to refer to Somali and other often Muslim African immigrants.

Perps are usually repeat offenders who wander in and out of the justice system.

In 2020, Bonide Badibanga was arrested for aggravated assault during a fight over drugs. By 2022, when he was accused of trying to shoot his brother, he had racked up 47 police contacts and 11 arrests. Despite being briefly charged with attempted murder, his family refused to testify and he received a plea deal last year for time served.

Mayor Miro Weinberger however has claimed that the role of migrant settler teens in the wave of violence is not “particularly relevant”.

When the three Arab Muslim men were shot, State’s Attorney Sarah George rushed to claim, without a shred of evidence, that, “there is no question this was a hateful act.” But the Soros DA has been accused of giving violent drug gang members a pass for the sake of social justice.

Burlington’s crime level rose sharply after the City Council voted to defund 30% of the police department during the peak of the BLM race riots.

Burlington City Councilor Ali Dieng, an African Muslim immigrant who has run for mayor, has attacked the police while introducing resolutions to boycott Israel and has urged funding for social services to explore the “root causes” of the violence by members of his community.

Tens of thousands of dollars were allocated to the Vermont New American Advisory Council (VNAAC), a group in which Ali serves as a secretary, which was used to pay for 15 hours of group therapy with “a therapist of African descent” along with “listening sessions” in which it was determined that the foreign population in Burlington had a “deep distrust” of the police.

“We all know that in the 21st century, black people in this country continue to live in fear of losing their lives at the hands of law enforcement, or members of the white supremacy groups,” Ali Dieng claimed after a resolution ordering the flying of the BLM flag at City Hall in 2020.

The reality is that black people in Burlington are being killed by other black people.

Ali Dieng has spent his political career alternating between falsely accusing America, the country that took him and his people in, of racism and accusing Israel of violence. The actual violence and racism are coming from the Muslim immigrants hiding behind those accusations.

When Hussein Mohamed killed Madden Gouveia, a 14-year-old local boy, local eyewitnesses attempted to lie to the police about what happened. The NAACP and other local leftist groups rallied for Mohamed, who was portrayed as the victim. Meanwhile Gouveia’s family lost their son.

“Thankfully, through God’s work, (Madden) came to my house a week ago,” Ricky Worthen, his brother, wrote. “He walked to Battery Park with me and my daughter and spent two hours with us. I know now that was God’s way of showing me, I should cherish every moment and from this day forward I will”

While Madden’s family were thinking of God, Allah was on trial in Vermont.

Allah has been caught with fentanyl, the drug at the heart of the overdose epidemic and also of much of the local Muslim drug dealing and violence in the city. The police had busted Zahir Allah, a black convert to Islam, just outside Burlington, and he was tried and sentenced to less than three years in prison for trafficking in the deadly drug.

Muslim drug gangs are killing each other while fighting over territory in Burlington, VT and across much of New England. And increasingly spreading their wave of terror across America.

While certainly not all shootings or murders in Burlington, VT involve Somalis, it is startling to see how many do, especially since the city has a relatively small Somali settler population.

Only a few hundred Somali Muslims were resettled in Burlington with horrifying consequences.

Maine: Brand-New Apartments For Illegal Migrants Unveiled, Paid For By State Taxpayers

In Brunswick, Maine, a new taxpayer-funded initiative aims to give undocumented migrants and asylum seekers free lodging for two years as the nation continues to struggle with feeding, housing, and supporting the influx of incoming foreigners.

In recent months, the surge in the number of illegal immigrants entering the United States has only continued to rise, which has presented a plethora of difficulties for officials in U.S. cities everywhere in regards to allocating resources for them.

Incoming and residing migrants have complained to reporters that they are having trouble finding consistent accommodation, especially in areas where there is already a housing scarcity for tax-paying American citizens.

While the majority of them have been lodging in hotels and shelters around the nation, one town in Maine is starting a new migrant program that will provide a number of free accommodations to those who apply, first come, first served.

According to Maine news station WCSH-TV, Brunswick, Maine, wants to offer at least 60 brand-new, furnished apartments for incoming migrants, 24 of which are already constructed. The apartments will be designed especially for “undocumented [foreigners] who are waiting up to a year for work permits.”

The Maine State Housing Authority is in charge of the program, the local outlet reported.

The state will reportedly use money authorized by the state legislature in order to cover the cost of rent for all migrants interested in entering the free-housing program, WGME reported. State officials say that the program “has enough funds to cover rent for up to two years.” However, if migrants find employment, they will pay “thirty percent of their rent.”

After the two years of the program end for migrant families and solo individuals utilizing the free immigrant housing, the company Developers Collaborative will reportedly provide market-rate and affordable housing units that foreigners without documentation can apply for.

It has also not been determined whether Maine officials will eventually plan to change the rules of the program, allowing a “longer stay time than two years, if necessary.”

The Maine State Housing Authority’s executive director, Dan Brennan, told WCSH that the initiative is a “unique solution to a very exciting opportunity in our state.”

“We have thousands of folks coming to Maine who want to make Maine home. We’re doing everything we can to help that situation,” he told the news station.

When the official waitlist for Brunswick’s free-housing apartments was announced at local shelters and hotels that were housing migrants in May 2023, more than 250 families applied, forcing officials to push back the opening date in order to build even more apartment units, according to The Times Record.

Brunswick’s population is around 21,931 inhabitants, according to 2022 statistics from the U.S. census bureau.

California To Expand Health Care Coverage For Undocumented Immigrants In 2024

Over hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants living in California will receive access to free health care in 2024.

All undocumented immigrants, regardless of age, will be eligible for Medi-Cal, which is California’s low-income version of the federal Medicaid program.

Before, undocumented immigrants could not obtain full health insurance, but they could obtain emergency and pregnancy-related services through Medi-Cal if they fulfilled certain eligibility requirements, such as living in California and earning a certain amount of money.

Undocumented children could enroll in Medi-Cal in 2015 thanks to a bill that was signed by Governor Jerry Brown (D-Calif.) at the time. 

A law extending full-scope Medi-Cal eligibility for young adults 19 to 25 years of age, irrespective of citizenship or immigration status, was signed into law by now Governor Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) in 2019.

Then, access was extended further, enabling older adults, regardless of immigration status, to receive full benefits at the age of fifty and beyond.

California State Senator María Elena Durazo estimates that the final expansion, which takes effect on January 1st, will make about 700,000 undocumented residents between the ages of 26 and 49 eligible for full coverage.

Newsom’s office stated that in California they believe that “everyone deserves access to quality, affordable health care coverage – regardless of income or immigration status.”

“Through this expansion, we’re making sure families and communities across California are healthier, stronger, and able to get the care they need when they need it,” they continued. 

The California Health and Human Services have stated that they have committed $835.6 million in 2023 and 2024 and $2.6 billion annually thereafter to expand full-scope Medi-Cal eligibility to all income-eligible adults, regardless of immigration status.

In 2019, when California had expanded the health coverage to include undocumented young adults, the-President Donald Trump criticized the move stating that it was “very unfair to [U.S.] citizens.”

Thousands of migrants have joined a caravan in Mexico days before United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken is arriving in Mexico for new agreements on migration control.

On Sunday, a large group of migrants made their way through Mexico toward the border with the United States, coming from Central America, Venezuela, Cuba, and other nations.

The caravan occurred days before Blinken is set to arrive in Mexico City to negotiate new agreements to manage the influx of migrants seeking entry into the United States.

The estimated 6,000-person caravan is the largest in over a year, with many of the participants being families with small children.

The Christmas Eve caravan departed from the city of Tapachula, near the country’s southern border with Guatemala.

In May, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador agreed to take in immigrants from countries like Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua who had been denied entry into the United States due to their failure to abide by regulations that established new, legal routes for asylum and other types of migration.

However, that agreement, which was meant to slow down a post-pandemic spike in migration, seems insufficient as the number of migrants rises once more.

At the southwest border of the United States, up to 10,000 migrants were detained every day this month.

On Friday, López Obrador stated that he is willing to resume working with the United States to resolve immigration-related issues.

Border crisis: Texas flies migrants to Chicago on private plane

Amid the ongoing crisis at the southern border, Texas officials flew over 100 migrants to Chicago on a private plane. O'Hare Airport police were told the private plane was chartered by the Texas Department of Emergency Management. Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson's office says this is the first time a private plane has been chartered to fly migrants into the city. On Monday this week, hundreds of asylum seekers illegally crossed into Eagle Pass, Texas, setting a record for the most interactions with immigrants seeking to relocate in a single day at the southern border of the United States.

This increase in recent weeks has left border guards both overworked and exasperated.

Fox News was informed by Customs and Border Protection sources that there were more than 12,600 interactions involving asylum seekers on Monday.

This excludes the hundreds of people who were left in the Del Rio Sector on Monday night waiting to be processed following a wave of asylum seekers entering Eagle Pass.

More than 1,600 illegal immigrants were detected at ports of entry, and additionally, more than 11,000 illegal immigrants were reported as being apprehended.

As of Tuesday morning, over 4,500 asylum seekers were being processed and transported by agents at the popular crossing site. Of these, over 5,300 were already in custody, and the facilities were 260% over capacity.

This indicates that agents are outnumbered 200-to-1 in the small border sector, which is handling more than 10,000 migrants in total.

Meanwhile, there were more than 3,000 interactions on Monday in the Tucson Sector in Arizona, where agents have also been overworked. National Guard assistance has been requested by Democrat Governor Katie Hobbs (D-Ariz.).

With 2.4 million people crossing the border in fiscal year 2023, the border experienced a record number of interactions.

Given that agents now consistently observe over 10,000 interactions every day, record or near-record figures were expected to be posted in November and December, even though migration historically slows down during those months.

Department of Homeland Security representatives testified before lawmakers this month, saying that approximately 670,000 illegal immigrants, or “gotaways,” eluded Border Patrol agents in fiscal year 2023 and that they are releasing 5,000 of them every day to non-governmental organizations.

Furthermore, each month, up to 30,000 asylum seekers from Haiti, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba are coming in through the Biden administration’s expanded “lawful pathways.” These figures are in addition to the more than 1,600 migrants who are paroled in at ports of entry every day.

The government has claimed that although it is pursuing a policy of “broadening” those paths and toughening “consequences” for illegal entrance, it is also addressing a crisis that affects the entire hemisphere and requires more funds and legislation from Congress for immigration reform.

As part of the over $100 billion in supplemental funding demands, it has asked Congress for an additional $14 billion in financing for the border. However, Republicans have insisted on tighter restrictions regarding humanitarian parole and stricter asylum requirements.

Italy: Catholic Church funds illegal migration, activists brag about not having to work due to Church donations

A significant scandal has recently shaken the Catholic Church in Italy, as reported by La Verita Italian paper. Investigations by the city of Ragusa prosecutor’s office have exposed the involvement of certain Italian dioceses in funding Mediterranea, an organization responsible for the illegal migration of African immigrants to Europe.

These dioceses have allegedly contributed at least €2 million, with some of the Church’s payments ending up in the personal accounts of pro-immigration activists, according to Polish newspaper wPolityce.

Key figures in this informal network of bishops include Cardinal Matteo Zuppi of Bologna, Archbishop Corrado Lorefice of Palermo and several others, with Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich of Luxembourg also implicated for donating €25,000.

The scandal’s central figure is Luca Casarini, a leftist activist known for his role in the 2001 G8 summit protests in Genoa. He later became involved in transporting illegal immigrants to Lampedusa. Casarini’s relationship with Pope Francis, beginning in December 2019, has raised eyebrows, especially after Francis invited Casarini to participate in the Vatican Synod of Bishops, despite his lack of active involvement in Church life….

The chaplain of the Mare Jonio, Fr. Mattia Ferrari, a priest known for working in pro-refugee circles, said with astonishment: “The Catholic Church is becoming our Soros,” in reference to the funding they were receiving.

Commentators are debating whether these bishops acted independently or under Pope Francis’ direction, with most leaning towards the former. Their actions, aimed at aligning with the pope’s perceived interests, might result in decreased donations from parishioners and damage the bishops’ credibility….

 

Gov. Abbott Signs Bill Making Illegal Immigration In Texas A State Crime

Governor Greg Abbott has signed a bill making illegal immigration a crime in the state of Texas.

Abbott (R-Texas) signed a trio of bills on Monday, but SB4 has been highly criticized as one of the cruelest state laws against illegal immigration in recent U.S. history.

The Republican governor said the bills’ goal is to stop the tidal wave of illegal immigrants making their way into the Lone Star State. 

It also creates a state criminal offense for anyone coming in from a foreign nation illegally.

“For repeat offenders,” Abbott said, “it creates the offense of illegal reentry with a potential sentence term of up to 20-years.”

Abbott affirmed President Biden’s “deliberate inaction” to secure the border has led Texas to fend for itself. 

The Republican also pointed out how rising immigration also poses a national security crisis. He said under President Trump there were 11 people on the terrorist watch list that were apprehended, and under President Biden that number has skyrocketed to 294.

SB4 is set to take effect in March 2024.

Civil rights groups on Tuesday, including The American Civil Liberties Union and the Texas Civil Rights Project, filed a lawsuit against the measure arguing it’s unconstitutional.

Also in response to the new law on Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said it was just another political move by Republicans who continue to “dehumanize” illegal immigrants.

Abbott signed two other bills on Monday, allocating $1.5 billion to build more border barriers and walls, and $40 million to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The other measure creates a mandatory minimum 10-year prison sentence for smuggling illegal immigrants and a 5-year minimum sentence for operating a stash house.

Mexico’s president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, said he plans on challenging the “inhumane” law.

“The foreign ministry is already working to challenge this law. Plus, we will always be against these measures. I want to tell our fellow countrymen and migrants, we will be defending them,” said Lopez Obrador. “Abbott wants to gain popularity. He will win nothing but the opposite – he will lose sympathy because there are a lot of Mexicans in Texas.”

Meanwhile in FY2024 to date, CBP has encountered more than 240,000 migrants.
