President Donald Trump threatened to withhold hundreds and billions of dollars from New York City if the mayoral candidate Zohran Mandani gets elected. Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-N.Y., slammed Mamdani for his far-left policies in an interview with The National News Desk. She said the impact of Mamdani's "socialist systems" will be felt outside of New York City. "I think the taxpayers should be more afraid of a guy, a communist, who wants to go in and double and triple taxes, try to turn a capitalist system that the United States largest city and and the most important economic city when it comes to New York State and to turn it around into a communist, you know, hellhole, you're going to have people leaving the city in droves, not paying taxes. Taxes are going to go up. Resources are going to go down. This is also because New York Governor Kathy Hochul is a staunch supporter of Mamdani and even endorsed him in the race. The governor can approve statewide legislation with such policies.
