In the heartland of america, border patrol units and ICE teams have a 5,000 arrest quota, which is a small fraction of the estimated 60,000 to 80,000 fugitives there who have removal orders from an immigration judge.
A routine enforcement action uncovers evidence of a concealed exploitation network tied to criminal groups. As investigators push deeper, they find children forced into dangerous labor and a complex system designed to hide their movement. The discovery reveals that a larger, still-unidentified architect is operating behind the scenes.
Universities have long been captured by liberal academics, and the fight for America's youth on campus at times feels hopeless. What made Charlie Kirk effective was that he did not run from that problem but ran head-on into it. Victor Davis Hanson explains this key aspect of Charlie Kirk’s legacy, emphasizing how his approach was effective, and what our job is now to carry on his mission in saving our country from the campus on today’s episode of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words.” “He did not go in the traditional academic pathway. He dropped out of college at 18. And he had to live by his wits, not in the artificial bubble of academia or the la-la land of the campus, where there are no consequences to behavior. … He learned to organize and galvanize people in a practical way. “And he said, ‘The universities are training generation after generation after generation in this seriously dangerous leftist dogma.’ In other words, if you're worried about this bizarre transgender movement, this cult-like effort to have biological men compete in women's sports, to take one example; or you're worried about the idea that you can steal $950 and not be prosecuted; or if you think that race is essential and not incidental to who you are—where did these things come from? And he said they came from the campus.”

Border czar Tom Homan stated on Wednesday that he has been living away from his wife following numerous death threats related to his work on mass deportations.
Homan spoke about the difficulty of having to live away from his wife due to security concerns during an interview with the New York Post‘s Miranda Devine.
“My wife’s living separately from me right now, mainly because I worked for many hours, but mostly because of the death threats against me,” Homan stated. “She’s someplace else. I see her as much as I can, but the death threats against me and my family are outrageous.”
“I spent a lot of time with my boys growing up, but as I got more and more – climbed the ladder of what I’ve done with ICE director and now back – I don’t see my family very much,” he continued.
"I don’t see my family very much.” Border czar Tom Homan revealed to @mirandadevine on this week’s episode of “Pod Force One” that he’s living away from his wife because of death threats he’s receiving. Subscribe here: https://t.co/pVZQmpuharpic.twitter.com/yDXYp4DB29
At one point in the interview, Homan recounted the moment he received a phone call from President Donald Trump to return to work with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency after previously serving in the first Trump administration.
“I was the first person he called, bringing me back, which again, was a proud moment. But I was out to dinner with my wife, and then my phone rang, and I looked down, and it said, ‘POTUS.’ And my wife said, ‘He’s asking [you} to come back isn’t he?’”
“So I walked outside and the first thing he said to me was, ‘You’ve been b****ing about it for four years. Well, come back and fix it.’ So how do you say no?” Homan added.
Meanwhile, recent data coming out of the southern border showcases record low numbers as the Trump administration has emphasized securing the U.S. border following the relaxed border policies of the previous administration.
There were 5,414 apprehensions at the border between June 1st and June 22nd, along with 986 “gotaways,” which represents the lowest number ever recorded.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said foreign nations will need to address a host of regulatory and other policies limiting imports of American products in order to secure relief from President Donald Trump’s new reciprocal levies. “These non-tariff trade barriers, they are the monster that needs to be slayed,” Lutnick said in an interview on Bloomberg Television and Radio. “Our teams are talking to all our great trading partners today,” he said. “It is time for them to do some deep soul searching on how they treat us poorly and how to make it right.” Offering specific examples of non-tariff barriers, the Commerce chief said that in the European Union some countries use the region’s 20% value-added tax to subsidize their own manufacturers’ production. Economists at the Council of Economic Advisers and staff at the U.S. Trade Representative’s office have pored over foreign nations’ trade barriers for decades, and that analysis formed the basis for the levies Trump announced Wednesday, Lutnick said. He also offered the example of a 2012 trade deal with South Korea, which involved the US letting Korean cars into its market, with Seoul agreeing to import American agricultural products. Nevertheless, McDonald’s Corp. was unable to bring in french fries because it was deemed to have shown the origin of the potatoes, he said. “You don’t understand the scale and depth of how they keep our products out,” Lutnick said. Asked about the sell-off in equities since Trump unveiled the reciprocal tariffs Wednesday afternoon, Lutnick said the president’s focus is on addressing “the economic pain that the United States of America suffered over decades.” S&P 500 futures were down 3.6% as of 8:52 a.m. in New York, while the Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index fell 1.8% — to the lowest level since October. The Commerce chief also confirmed that the new 34% surtax on China stacks on top of previous levies, including the 20% Trump imposed earlier this year over alleged Chinese production of precursors for illegal fentanyl. “All they have to have is a phone call from President Xi to Trump saying we’re going to stop fentanyl production,” Lutnick said, putting the onus on President Xi Jinping. “And it would drop to 20%,” he said of the tariff rate.

Arkansas’ Republican Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders unveiled a set of measures on Wednesday aimed at preventing China from conducting business in and with the state.
The law was dubbed the “Communist China Defense Legislative Package” by the governor. The governor claimed that the six legislation in the package, some of which have already been introduced and others that are still pending, target “Communist China influence” in the state.
Sanders stated that 80% of the state’s foreign intelligence cases are based on CCP actions, citing the 60 CCP foreign intelligence investigations conducted in the United States in 2024.
Existing laws will be strengthened by the measures, which will prohibit the CCP from lobbying, lower the time limit for selling a prohibited land holding, and prohibit any Arkansas municipality from having a sister city in China.
“The governor said that any college or university with a Confucius Institute would not receive any state funding, stating that China often uses such institutions to establish intelligence operations,” according to NBC affiliate KARK – Little Rock.
On U.S. college campuses, Confucius Institutes provide courses in Chinese language and culture. Researchers and others have expressed worries about undue influence and other issues since the People’s Republic of China government partners with the schools and partially funds the institutes.

An executive at the U.S. Internal Revenue Service told staffers Thursday that about 6,000 employees would be fired, a person familiar with the matter said, in a move that would eliminate roughly 6% of the agency's workforce in the midst of the critical tax-filing season.
The cuts are part of President Donald Trump's radical downsizing effort that has targeted bank regulators, forest workers, rocket scientists and tens of thousands of other government employees. The effort is being led by tech billionaire Elon Musk, Trump's biggest campaign donor.
The layoffs at the IRS largely target workers at the agency who were hired as part of an expansion under former Democratic President Joe Biden, who sought to expand enforcement efforts on wealthy taxpayers. The agency now employs roughly 100,000 people, up from 80,000 when he took office.
Independent budget analysts estimate the expansion could boost government revenues and help narrow trillion-dollar budget deficit. Trump's Republicans say the expansion would lead to more harassment of ordinary American taxpayers.
The workers being cut are in their probationary period and enjoy fewer protections than career employees.
The IRS has taken a more careful approach to downsizing than other agencies, given that it is in the middle of its busiest period, with the April 15 tax filing deadline just two months away.
The 2025 tax filing season opened on January 27, with the IRS expecting over 140 million individual tax year 2024 returns by the federal filing deadline.
The dismissals target revenue agents, customer-service workers, specialized auditors and IT specialists across all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C., according to people familiar with the matter.
The IRS will retain several thousand probationary employees deemed critical for processing tax returns, including those involved in supporting and advocating for taxpayers, one source said.
The White House has not said how many of the nation's 2.3 million civil-service workers it wants to fire and has given no numbers on the mass layoffs. Roughly 75,000 took a buyout offer last week.
The campaign has delighted Republicans for culling a federal workforce they view as bloated, corrupt and insufficiently loyal to Trump, while also taking aim at government agencies that regulate big business and collect taxes -- including those that oversee Musk's companies SpaceX, Tesla and Neuralink.
Musk's Department of Government Efficiency team has also canceled contracts worth about $8.5 billion involving foreign aid, diversity training and other initiatives opposed by Trump. Both men have set a goal of cutting at least $1 trillion from the $6.7 trillion federal budget, though Trump has said he will not touch popular benefit programs that make up roughly one-third of that total.
Democratic critics say Trump is exceeding his constitutional authority and hacking away at popular and critical government programs at the expense of legions of middle-class families.

President Donald Trump is anticipated to sign an Executive Order on Wednesday that will keep biological males who identify as transgender females out of female sports teams through Title IX — putting more pressure on schools to enforce the mandate or risk losing federal funding.
Additionally, the order will enforce a visa review of all athletes who enter the U.S. to compete and those who mark the opposite sex on their application — considering the act as potential “fraud.”
White House officials said in a call on Wednesday morning that allowing trans-identifying “women” to compete against biological women is both “dangerous” and “unfair,” due to scientifically proven advantages that biological males have over biological females — such as larger lung capacity and an overabundance of strength compared to their female counterparts.
“Biological sex is a determinant of athletic performance: adult males are faster, stronger, and more powerful than females because of fundamental sex differences in anatomy and physiology dictated by sex chromosomes,” according to the American College of Sports Medicine.
Trump officials further explained their motives.
“On his first day in office, Joe Biden signed an executive order calling on schools across the country to allow students to compete in the sport of their ‘gender identity,’” one official said.
“That is a slap in the face to female athletes who dedicate tremendous effort to be the best in their sport, only to be forced to compete against biological men.”
Passed in 1972, Title IX prohibits sex-based discrimination in any school or other educational program that receives federal funding.
As time has passed, Title IX compliance by colleges has helped increase their funding of women’s sports, and the law has received credit for the growth in popularity of women’s sports.
Last year, the United Nations (UN) released a report that revealed nearly 900 medals in women’s sports had been won by biological males who identify as trans females.
The report also found that up to March 30th, 2024, “over 600 female athletes in more than 400 competitions have lost more than 890 medals in 29 different sports."
“The replacement of female sports category with a mixed-sex category has resulted in an increasing number of female athletes losing opportunities, including medals, when competing against males,” Special Rapporteur Reem Alsalem wrote.
Furthermore, the mandate allows women who are forced to compete against biological males to sue the schools, White House officials noted — saying this “should very much concern” would-be violators.
During his campaign, Trump vowed to end male participation in women’s sports after many Americans voiced opposition against trans athletes like Penn College swimmer Lia Thomas, who set new records in collegiate competitions as a biological male who has gone through male puberty.
“It’s a man playing the game,” Trump told Fox News back in October.
“You just ban it. The president bans it. You just can’t let it happen.”
On his first day in office, the president signed an executive order announcing the federal government would only recognize two sexes: male and female.
