Unpacking SCOTUS’s Latest EMBARRASSING Decision On USAID Funding

In a devastating ruling by the Supreme Court that 'shocked' Justice Alito, two GOP judges sided with the Democrats to undo President Trump's executive order, which froze $2 billion in USAID funding. That's what's at stake here: $2 billion of YOUR tax dollars potentially funding anti-American agendas or worse, with no accountability thanks to the 1946 Administrative Procedure Act diluting responsibility. This raises the question—who truly controls government? Congress as the chef, the President as the manager, or an overreaching Supreme Court as food inspector? President Trump MUST continue to fight back against the DOJ while eyeing a Scalia-like justice to fix a possibly rigged system. ENOUGH with these wishy-washy judges, Glenn argues. We need a BULLDOG.

Xi Jinping’s Decision To Risk War: Gordon Chang

This is a condensed version of Jan Jekielek's interview with Gordon Chang. The full version was released on Epoch TV on September 28, 2024. Jan Jekielek interviews Gordon Chang, the author of the new book, “Plan Red: China’s Project to Destroy America,” to understand the Chinese regime’s strategy to destabilize America, from fentanyl warfare to election disinformation to suspicious activity at the border. “We see momentum toward war, and we Americans have got to ask ourselves, what is going to stop this momentum toward war?” Chang says. “The Communist Party People's Daily, China's most authoritative publication in China, in a landmark editorial declared in May 2019 "a people's war against us, and we're Americans, so we don't think we can ignore what our enemies say." But for Communist China, People's War is a phrase that has great resonance going back to the beginning of the People's Republic. Just about a year ago, ‘PLA Daily’ actually defined people's war for us. It said people's war is total war, and we have seen China wage a campaign of unrestricted warfare against the United States.” Gordon Chang: “You have an insecure regime in China. Beijing is worried about the inspirational impact of America's values and form of governance on the Chinese people. I believe the Communist Party does not think it will ever be safe as long as the United States exists.” Chang about Chinese students in America: “We know that Chinese consular officials and Ministry of State Security agents surveil those students and get them to commit espionage, get them to engage in political activities which is inappropriate on our soil, and this is our country. We allow that. Under the communist party's top down system every Chinese national must obey the instructions and demands of the Communist Party, and China's 2017 National Intelligence Law codifies this in one area where Chinese nationals are required to commit espionage if they receive a demand.” “There must be hundreds, if not 1000s, of Ministry of State Security agents running around our country trying to compromise American politicians.” Chang recommends: “We need to sever all of our contacts with the Chinese regime. I know that that is very strong. I’m not saying it's politically acceptable, but I am saying it is necessary, and the reason is we're being overwhelmed. We are being overwhelmed by a Chinese regime. Our law enforcement is being overwhelmed. Our universities are being overwhelmed, our businesses, Hollywood, just, you name it. We don't have a hold on this. And until we are able to manage this, we need to take those contacts and sever them. It's going to be tough. It will be painful, as we talked about, but nonetheless, it's necessary, and that's why I'm so concerned, because we are not willing to do what is necessary to save our society.”

The Senate has voted to advance the nomination of Pete Hegseth as the new secretary of the Department of Defense.

On Thursday, the Senate advanced Hegseth’s nomination, despite objections from Democrats and some Republicans who have questioned his ability to lead the military.

One Republican, Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), posted on X in regard to the Senate’s advancement, asserting that she would not be voting in favor of confirming Hegseth.

“After thorough evaluation, I must conclude that I cannot in good conscience support his nomination for Secretary of Defense,” Murkowski said in a statement on Thursday. “I did not make this decision lightly; I take my constitutional responsibility to provide advice and consent with the utmost seriousness.”

Murkowski continued, attempting to raise concerns about Hegseth’s “lack of experience” in comparable executive positions, his previous “remarks on women” in combat, and the anonymous accusations of alcohol abuse and alleged sexual misconduct lodged against him.

Nevertheless, Hegseth has adamantly refuted these claims on numerous occasions.

According to Hegseth’s lawyer, Tim Parlatore, evidence gathered by a California DA’s office purportedly includes proof that the anonymous female accuser had filed false claims of sexual assault against another man in a different jurisdiction. Parlatore has been working to have these documents released to the public.

A spokeswoman for the Trump administration declared on Thursday that the “[22-page police report] corroborates what Mr. Hegseth’s attorneys have said all along. The incident was fully investigated and no charges were filed because police found the allegations to be false.” Monterey County District Attorney Jeannine M. Pacioni also admitted that her office could not file charges since it didn’t have “proof beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Despite this, Murkowski continued to explain her position.

“Although he has recently revised his statements on women in combat since being nominated, I remain concerned about the message that confirming Mr. Hegseth sends to women currently serving and those aspiring to join,” Murkowski said. “Women have served our nation with distinction, overcoming immense obstacles to excel in combat and leadership roles, and they deserve to know that their leader honors and values their commitment to our nation.

“While the allegations of sexual assault and excessive drinking do nothing to quiet my concerns, the past behaviors Mr. Hegseth has admitted to, including infidelity on multiple occasions, demonstrate a lack of judgment that is unbecoming of someone who would lead our armed forces,” Murkowski added. “Men and women in uniform are held accountable for such actions, and they deserve leaders who uphold those same standards.”

Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) similarly voted not to confirm Hegseth — due to the allegations against him.

The 51-49 vote to end debate on Hegseth’s nomination sets the stage for a final confirmation vote on Friday, when he is anticipated to secure the majority support he needs to join Trump’s Cabinet.

The Armed Services panel voted along party lines, 14-13, to waive the seven-day rule and advance the nominee.

Democratic Donor Haim Saban on Biden’s Threat to Withhold Weapons for Israel: A ‘Bad, Bad, Bad Decision’

SEE: https://www.jihadwatch.org/2024/05/democratic-donor-haim-saban-on-bidens-threat-to-withhold-weapons-for-israel-a-bad-bad-bad-decision; republished below in full, unedited, for informational, educational, & research purposes:

Joe Biden is now taking a hard line on Israel, holding back the delivery of certain weaponry — 500- and 2000-pound bombs, and artillery shells — that he insists will not be delivered if the IDF goes deep into Rafah. But if the IDF does as Biden wants, and does not enter Rafah, it will be unable to rout the four intact battalions of Hamas still in the city, allowing the terror group to claim victory, as Hamas, albeit with the number of its operatives greatly diminished, would still be standing. Why has Biden chosen to turn his back on Israel at its moment of maximum peril?

It’s domestic politics. He has seen a squalid display of anti-Israel and antisemitic protesters on nearly 100 American campuses, and instead of calling for moral nitwits, at least half of whom are not even students, to be promptly expelled from the campuses, he; merely criticized the disruption they cause to campus life. who want to see Israel destroyed and replaced by a twenty-third Arab state. But instead of denouncing them and demanding that universities call in the police to close those protests down, Biden has chosen to take their “concerns” seriously. He’s worried, you see, about the Muslim and Arab-American vote, especially in the battleground state of Minnesota, home of Ilhan Omar and a large Somali population. Biden wants to hold onto the state by distancing his administration from Israel. Many Democrats, including Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania and Congressman Ritchie Torres of New York, have deplored Biden’s decision. Republicans across the board have been unstinting in their criticism of Biden’s withholding of weaponry to our closest ally, which they rightly point out “will only help Hamas.”

Now a major donor to Biden’s reelection campaign, the Israeli American billionaire Haim Saban, has come out swinging, declaring that Biden threatening to withhold weapons shipments to Israel is “bad, bad, bad, decision, on all levels.” More on Saban’s reaction, that is likely to be shared by many of Biden’s biggest donors, can be found here: “‘Bad, bad, bad,’: Major Israeli-American Biden donor criticizes US threat to halt weapons,” by Yuval Barnea, Jerusalem Post, May 10, 2024:

A major donor to President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign has criticized his handling of the weapons shipments to Israel, calling it a “Bad, bad, bad, decision, on all levels” in a text published online on Thursday.

Haim Saban is an Israeli-American billionaire and long-time supporter of Israel and Jewish political causes and has been a consistent donor to the Democratic party since the 1990s.

Saban criticized Biden’s threat to halt arms shipments to Israel. He asked Biden whether his actions were consistent with the belief that Hamas should be defeated and whether this sent the best message to other US allies in the region.

“This sends a terrible message to our allies in the region, and beyond that, [that] we can flip from doing the right t[h]ing to bending to political pressure.”

He then reminded Biden that “There are more Jewish voters who care about Israel than Muslim voters that care about Hamas.”…

Where appeals to common sense and decency don’t work, a hint from deep-pocketed Democrats that they will no longer be contributing to the care and feeding of candidate Biden might prove persuasive. And Saban is not alone; he’s a harbinger of disaffections to come.
