SOCIALIST TERRORISTS ASSAULT SENATOR RAND PAUL & HIS WIFE AFTER RNC

Socialist terrorists who have been attacking American cities, burning large swaths of them to the ground and terrorizing innocent and peaceful citizens have begun assaulting politicians in a new campaign of political terrorism.
The first attack in this new campaign was launched primarily against Senator Rand Paul and his wife as the pair were leaving the Republican National Convention following President Trump’s acceptance of party nomination on the evening of August 27.
Video captured at the time shows Senator Paul and his wife attempting to walk down the street guarded by several police officers. The small group is surrounded by a large and increasingly violent crowd of socialist terrorists whose bloodlust surges as the video rolls. Mrs. Paul, head down, appears to lead Senator Paul forward by the hand as the terrorist crowd chants, screams and presses in toward the couple.
As the crowd’s aggression grows, the officer to Senator Paul’s left is violently shoved by an off-camera protestor. The officer stumbles backward into the Senator, nearly falling, while Rand Paul, also knocked off balance, helps prevent the officer from falling.
A longer video shows the aggressive crowd gathering and chanting “say her name” in reference to Breonna Taylor, who was killed by police gunfire in her apartment. Her death occurred after police, serving a “no-knock” warrant, were fired upon by Taylor’s boyfriend Kenneth Walker, according to the Louisville Courier Journal.
Ironically, and apparently unknown or of no concern to the malcontent thugs attacking the Senator and his wife, Rand Paul is an opponent of the very type of no-knock raids that resulted in the death of Breonna Taylor. In fact, on June 11, Senator Paul introduced legislation to end the use of such raids.
“After talking with Breonna Taylor’s family, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s long past time to get rid of no-knock warrants. This bill will effectively end no-knock raids in the United States,” Senator Paul said of his measure. As introduced by Paul, the title of the measure is the “Justice for Breonna Taylor Act.”
Posting to Twitter, Senator Paul described the attack he faced on the streets of Washington, DC, thanking police for saving his life.
“Just got attacked by an angry mob of over 100, one block away from the White House. Thank you to @DCPoliceDept for literally saving our lives from a crazed mob.”
On August 28, the morning after the attack in the streets of D.C., Senator Paul described the incident in more detail during an appearance on Fox & Friends.
“They're attempting to push the police over to get to me, so at one point they push a policeman backwards, he stumbles and he's trying to catch his balance and I catch the back of his flak jacket to stabilize him to make sure he's OK because he's our defense," Paul said. “If he's down, the mob's loose on us.”
The Senator also noted that he and his wife, not to mention the police escorting him, faced serious injury or death at the hands of the gathered terrorist crowd.
“I truly believe this with every fiber of my being, had they gotten at us they would have gotten us to the ground, we might not have been killed, might just have been injured by being kicked in the head, or kicked in the stomach until we were senseless,” he said.
“You’ve seen the pictures of what they do to you. If the police are not there, if you defund the police, if we become Portland, if America becomes Portland, what's going to happen is people are going to be pummeled and kicked in the head and left senseless on the curb,” he he told the Fox program. “That would have happened to us, I promise you, had we not had the D.C. Police to support us. We are thankful we have police, and we've got to wake up. We can't have the whole country, we can't have Joe Biden rule the country and have no police. I mean, we can't walk down the street in D.C. safely now. That's how bad it is.”
Biden, a typically shifty Democrat, claims he doesn’t agree with defunding the police. But as the New York Post editorial board noted on August 9, when “asked if money should be ‘redirected’ away from cops, he replied, ‘Yes, absolutely.’”
Senator Paul is now calling for the FBI to make arrests and investigate interstate criminal traffic that is behind the socialist terrorism hitting America’s streets.
“I believe there are going to be people who are involved with the attack on us that actually were paid to come here, are not from Washington, D.C., and are sort of paid to be anarchists,” Senator Paul said. “This is disturbing because really, if you're inciting a riot that's a crime, but if you're paying someone to incite a riot that person needs to go to jail as well.”
Summarizing what happened to him after the RNC, he said: “They were inciting a riot and they would have killed us had the police not been there.”
Senator Paul and his wife were not the only couple to be assaulted leaving the Republican National Convention. Another couple were followed by a hyper-aggressive shouting crowd while trying to enter what appeared to be their hotel. The crowd grew increasingly aggressive and celebrated when the couple were barred from entry and appeared trapped.
Also confronted by the mob was Representative Brian Mast of Florida.
All of this, violent as it has been, appears to be a prelude to the beginning of what may be a militant revolutionary attempt to remove the Trump administration from office before the election.
The organization Refuse Fascism, associated with 1960s Weather Underground (see more about the Weather Underground here) terrorist Bill Ayers (see Ayers' name on a Refuse Fascism poster here) and tied to both Antifa and George Soros, is presently calling for 60 days of revolutionary activity aimed at the apparently violent ouster of the Trump administration from the White House.
On its website, Refuse Fascism invited the violent crowds that confronted Senator Paul and others in D.C. to “Protest Trump’s Nomination Speech,” calling for “Trump/Pence Out Now!” The next day, August 28, the organization is calling for rioters to join its “‘Get Your Knee Off Our Necks’ March on Washington.” The organization’s main pressure campaign is schedule to start on September 5.
“We are at a “stop everything” moment in history. September 5 needs to be a significant outpouring inspiring 60 days of struggle,” the organization says on its website.
The organization continues, ominously: “This election, if there is an election, will be a showdown over the form of rule in this country.” Then the call for a coup: “Now is the time to marshal the people for a determined struggle to demand the Trump/Pence Regime get OUT NOW. All who have been demonized and criminalized by this regime and the millions who hate Trump and what he stands for must unite with an unwavering resolve to remove this regime from power at the soonest possible time.”
Perilous times, indeed, and leftist militant terrorists appear ready and willing to continue to implement ever more violent tactics as part of the revolutionary agenda.

Protesters blocked, and then hopped on, a bus carrying VIPs. They look like they’re having fun. I’m sure the people inside the bus were terrified they’d be mobbed or set on fire.
As the crowds came out of the protected area, they were forced to go through a gauntlet of people yelling, screaming, jumping at them, using filthy language, and doing their best to intimidate them.

The terrorist bunch was free to surround and assault this man, who had come to the National Mall to watch the firework show after the president’s speech. They pushed him multiple times and shoved him to the ground as he tried to walk with his wife to a safe area. There wasn’t a safe spot.

Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA blamed the melee on D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser for failing to secure the streets near the White House. He called the violent mob “their voting base.”
Bowser has made no secret of her contempt for the Trump administration.
Maybe this was her way of sending a message to the president.
We vote in 67 days. There’s still time to turn D.C. into Portland and don’t think the mob won’t try.

Today, during a convocation at the highly-respected Southern Baptist-affiliated Christian Liberty University, notoriously false teacher and serial blasphemer of God, Andy Stanley, told Liberty University students that people, like John MacArthur, who believe that Jesus commands Christians to meet are “wrong.”
Shaking his fist in mocking frustration, Stanley says that Jesus “never played the God card,” and never claimed to be God, and therefore, somehow, he concluded, that Jesus never commanded Christians to meet.
Stanley also complained that John MacArthur said “not so nice” things about him, so he has no interest in having a conversation with him.
Of course, MacArthur was right about Stanley — that Stanley doesn’t know what a church is and definitely does not know how to shepherd a flock. It’s why most of Stanley’s congregation are goats and, hopefully, the few that God has chosen out of that congregation, will see the light and exit that demonic spawn of Hell’s “church” building.
Thankfully, there are men like John MacArthur who are willing to call wolves wolves and speak the truth, stand up to tyranny, and be a light and a witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ despite the many who are unwilling to do so or just want to stand on the sidelines.

Liberty University Invites False Teacher, Andy Stanley, to Preach Convocation

Liberty University, the largest Christian University in the country — which was formerly led by Jerry Falwell, Jr. who just resigned amid immoral and erratic behavior — has invited one of the nation’s most notorious false teachers to speak at convocation today.
Andy Stanley, pastor of Northpoint Church in Atlanta, is best known for blaspheming God and denying the Scriptures. Stanley recently announced that his own church would be closed for at least the remainder of this year because of the coronavirus — despite the fact that the coronavirus has had a relatively low impact on church congregations and has not been the monster pandemic it was made out to be.
Stanley is famous for his teaching that the Church needs to “unhitch” from the Old Testament and declaring that the Scriptures are unnecessary to Christianity. He teaches that God loves us more than he loves his own son, Jesus, and believes that even if you don’t know Jesus, you will have a better life by following his teachings — which is patently and absurdly false.
Stanley teaches that openly gay, practicing homosexuals can be saved and also teaches that the Ten Commandments don’t apply to Christians. All-in-all, there can be no doubt that Stanley has been a blasphemer of God and a false teacher that God has allowed to continue to serve his own good purposes.
Now, Liberty University is feeding their own sheep to this wolf.

no-worship order and subpoenas. ... Liberty Counsel’s Founder Mat Staver says Newsom’s worship ban is clearly
unconstitutional. ‘The same governor who encourages mass protests, bans all worship and is now fining churches
for their right to assemble and worship. The same governor who says the church can meet for secular services,
bans the church from having religious worship. This unconstitutional hostility against religious worship must end.’
Newsom has issued a rule against singing and chanting--even in worship in private homes. Then, he outlawed
church worship. ... The pastor of Godspeak Calvary Chapel in Ventura County, Rob McCoy, was in court on Friday
and fined $3,000 for holding three socially distanced worship services each Sunday on August 9th and 16th. ...
McCoy was ready to go to jail on Sunday if need be. Senator Ted Cruz sent a supportive tweet, letting California l

documents the county gave to the court. That church has been fined $10,000 for illegally singing in two worship
services. Singing. ... In Los Angeles County on Monday, megachurch Pastor John McArthur of Grace Community
Church went to court for a fourth time to fight the governor’s ban on worship. [The county is seeking $20,000 in
damages. On August 25, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff refused the county’s request to grant
a temporary restraining order against the church’s services.] McArthur issued a declaration on Monday, saying it’s
clear that the County thinks it’s OK to let ‘congregants to gather to worship the Lord in parking lots, in parks, or
perhaps beaches--but never in any church. From Grace Community Church’s perspective, this is nonsensical, and
we view it as a direct ban on engaging in the worship which our faith requires.’” The previous report did not
mention Harvest Church of Pasadena, Calif. “Last week, Pasadena’s chief assistant city prosecutor sent Harvest
Church Pastor Che Ahn a letter, threatening fines and up to one year in jail for anyone who attends a future service
. [The letter, dated Aug. 13, reads:] ‘This letter is to remind you that violations of these orders are criminal in
nature. Each day in violation is a separate violation and carries with it a potential punishment of up to one year in
jail and a fine for each violation. ... Any violations in the future will subject your church, owners, administrators,
operators, staff, and parishioners to the above-mentioned criminal penalties as well as the potential closure of your

“Facebook explicitly sought to disrupt Antifa’s operations and said it restricted 1,400 hashtags related to the
militant leftists and tore down 520 pages and 160 ads. Facebook’s crackdown on Antifa is a harbinger of things to
come, as the company said it has begun changing its policies to more aggressively go after militia groups
supporting violent protests. ... Facebook’s policy shift takes aim at the radical organizations’ funding, their ability
to attract new followers, and the visibility of their content. ... By publicizing its actions against Antifa, Facebook
has called attention to its more aggressive content moderation approach as affecting all political ideologies”
(“Facebook cracks down,” The Washington Times, Aug. 20, 2020). At the same time, Facebook has “removed 790
QANON groups and imposed restrictions on an additional 1,950 QAnon groups on its platform and 10,000 accounts
on Instagram.” QAnon is a hodgepodge of conspiracy theories based on enigmatic reports published by an
anonymous person known as “Q” who allegedly has access to ultra top-secret information. There is no evidence
that “Q” is anyone other than some goofball with too much time on his hands having a lark, but QAnon believers
see Q’s publications as “breadcrumbs” of evidence for their enlightenment. There are fragments of truth, of course,
as in all such things, but largely it is a will-o’-the-wisp world of inscrutable poetry, numerology, secret signals, etc.
An example of a Q message is this: “Think SC vote to confirm (coming). No Name action. Every dog has its day.
Enjoy the show.” It is as murky and meaningless as a Nostradamus prophecy. QAnon is an Alice Wonderland in
which nothing is solid, nothing is sure, nothing means what it seems to mean. The main theme is that presidents
before Trump were part of a cabal of “deep-state” international evil operators who control America and the world
(the media, politicians, Hollywood), operating death squads and pedophile rings and a great many other secret
things. Trump was chosen by military generals to run for president to destroy this cabal, which he will supposedly
do in a purge called “The Storm” (in which tens of thousands of deep state operatives, including Hilly Clinton, will
be arrested and subjected to military tribunals, etc.). Trump supposedly flashes secret signals to QAnon insiders.
One of the theories is that John. R. Kennedy, Jr., and his wife faked their own plane crash deaths and went
undercover to work with Trump. QAnon is associated with a hodgepodge of conspiracies pertaining to Covid-19,
9-11, UFOs, 5G technology and mind control, etc. It is as nutty as a fruitcake. While a lot of people are attracted
to such things and are true believers, a lot of the followers are doubtless just entertaining themselves like “Q” is.
To any Q followers in Bible-believing churches, we would say, you don’t need Q; you have the infallible Word of
God! Stop wasting your time chasing will-o’-the-wisp in a rabbit hole and become a serious Bible student and
disciple of Jesus Christ. And to Facebook and other social media companies, we would say, by all means ban
violent speech and pornography and pedophilia and such things, but you should not be censors of speech that is
legal under law. Allegedly nutty or not, it should be none of your business. Liberals and leftists, et al, have plenty
of their own fake news and conspiratorial nuttiness. Do you want someone censoring your free speech?

RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST JOHN MACARTHUR’S CHURCH DENIED BY JUDGE FOR THE FOURTH TIME

A restraining order requested by Los Angeles County against the church led by John MacArthur, who is also the chancellor emeritus for The Master’s University and Seminary, has been denied by the judge.
For a number of weeks, MacArthur’s church in Sun Valley, Grace Community Church, has been holding in-person services without social distancing.
The objective of the restraining order, county officials said in a news release distributed last week, is to prohibit the church from holding indoor services. If the court issues the order, any future indoor services could be grounds for a contempt citation and fines of up to $20,000.
However, L.A. County Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff ruled Monday in opposition to the county’s position, denying the restraining order for a fourth time.
“It is deeply disappointing that the court decided not to grant the county’s request for a temporary restraining order prohibiting Grace Community Church from holding indoor services, as it has done several times in recent weeks,” county officials said in their statement distributed after the Monday ruling. “We look forward to a favorable ruling when a full hearing is heard on the matter on Sept. 4.”
County officials said that the church’s meetings violate the county’s health officer order, and that the order has been put in place to “curb the transmission of COVID-19 in order to prevent serious illness and death among our residents.”
“The court correctly concluded that Los Angeles County’s renewed application for a temporary restraining order was both procedurally and substantively defective,” Paul Jonna, the church’s lawyer in the case, said Tuesday in a prepared statement. “This was their fourth unsuccessful attempt to obtain a court order prohibiting indoor worship services at Grace Community Church. We look forward to fully vindicating our clients’ constitutionally protected rights in subsequent proceedings for this important case.”
Beckleoff stated in his ruling the county’s case failed to meet statutory requirements.
The Master’s University
Despite Grace Community deciding to go against the health order, The Master’s University, of which MacArthur was a longtime president of the college, is following the guidelines set forth by the Public Health Department, they say.
“We’re bringing back to campus only students that are taking part in training for the essential workforce and need in-person instruction,” said Corey Williams, chief communications officer for TMU. “A good majority of classes are happening remotely. L.A. County said students with no feasible living options can be in our dorms.”
Events at the university have been canceled until further notice with the exception of protests and faith-based services, social distancing within those few classes that are meeting will be enforced and the university is having deep sanitation occur throughout the campus.
“Deep cleaning and masks are required,” said Williams. “We will also have grab-and-go food options and limit the number of people that can pick up food at a time. We’re a pretty small operation, compared to the vast majority of higher education institutions, so we don’t have to worry.”
The university released a plan earlier in the summer, but following changes to the health order, modified its return guidelines for staff and students. The plan had been developed by the university’s COVID-19 task force set up in March that included an epidemiologist, doctor and on-campus medical staff. They spent the summer putting together all possible reopening plans and they met every week, Williams said.
“It’s going to be strange but we’re very excited to be back,” said Williams.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — A Baptist church in California has been fined $10,000 for holding a morning and evening service indoors and for also including singing during those gatherings. The church has been warned that continued violations of the Santa Clara County health order will result in additional $5,000 per occurrence fines.
“North Valley Baptist is failing to prevent those attending, performing and speaking at North Valley Baptist’s services from singing,” the letter from officials read in part.
“The County understands that singing in an intimate and meaningful component of religious worship. However, public health experts have also determined that singing together in close proximity and without face coverings transmits [corona]virus particles further in the air than breathing or speaking quietly.”
Jack Trieber of North Valley Baptist Church released a video statement on Monday explaining that the church had previously complied with directives prohibiting indoor gatherings as the novel coronavirus seemed to be a serious threat.
“I didn’t want to be responsible for seeing people die,” he outlined. “Because it was going to be a hotspot, we obeyed to the letter.”
Trieber said that actual fatalities, however, were nowhere near what they were projected to be in a county of more than one million people, as 225 people died with nearly 100 of those deaths being in nursing homes. Therefore, the church decided to begin holding meetings in the auditorium again but with social distancing and other preventative measures in place.
In response, County officials taped a multiple-page “cease and desist” order to the door, outlining that Trieber was in willful violation of the prohibition on indoor gatherings, as well as singing. It also asserted that there was no social distancing protocol in place.
The church was leveled with two $5K fines for holding the indoor morning and evening services, with no grace period, and a $250 fine for a lack of a social distancing protocol was also proposed with a 48-hour grace period.
“$5,000 fine for holding an unlawful indoor gathering at 10:30 a.m. on August 23, 2020, not requiring congregants or church service attendees to wear face coverings while attending, performing or speaking at indoor worship services and permitting congregants or church service attendees to sing,” the letter read in part. “Be advised that further such violations will result in additional $5,000 fines per occurrence without a grace period.”
Trieber believes, however, that it is not the government’s jurisdiction to make laws against the Church.
“This is America,” he said in the video. “To think that a person can say, ‘You cannot sing in church. You cannot preach without a mask on …'”
The pastor explained that officials have stated that the church can meet outside with a maximum of 60 people, but he did not know how he would accommodate the thousands attending his church if he can only have 60 meet at a time.
“I’m not trying to be harsh. I’m not trying to be a smart aleck. I’m not trying to be cruel. I want to obey authority, but authority overstepped,” Trieber stated, noting that suicides, violence, drug use and alcoholism are on the increase due to the lockdown and that spiritual guidance is needed.
He has consequently pleaded with officials to be merciful and to rescind their order against houses of worship.
“I plead with you: Back off. Open up the spiritual environment of this county immediately,” Trieber said. “I saw my grandkids here yesterday and they were so worried that Papa was going to be arrested. It’s torment to our children in this church. I beg you: Please stop.”

John MacArthur Files Declaration Against LA County for Depriving Christians of “Spiritual Refuge”

(August 24, 2020 – Sun Valley, California) Los Angeles County is returning to court this morning, August 24, 2020, attempting – for the fourth time – to get a court order to shut down indoor worship services at Grace Community Church.
As the judge noted last week, the County simply refuses to accept the reasoned decisions of the California court. Judge Mitchell L. Beckloff, who will preside over today’s hearing, told Los Angeles County attorneys from the bench on August 20, “As I see it, Judge Chalfant said ‘No’ to you and the Court of Appeal declined to make the order that you requested.”
MacArthur’s declaration to the court states in part:
“Worship-bans appear to take the position that we should lock our doors and force our congregants to gather to worship the Lord in parking lots, in parks, or perhaps beaches—but never in any church. From Grace Community Church’s perspective, this is nonsensical, and we view it as a direct ban on engaging in the worship which our faith requires. The size of our congregation means that there is no place for it to meet outdoors; the summer heat makes meeting outdoors unhealthy and even dangerous; our experts have refuted that meeting indoors significantly aids in the spread of the coronavirus; and most principally, Grace Community Church’s sanctuary itself is a spiritual refuge for our congregants—a refuge of which the county has no right to deprive them.”
“Thus, the county’s and state’s July 13 and 14 worship-bans burden my and Grace Community Church’s free exercise of religion by criminalizing activity directly required by our faith. As a church, we have a moral and religious obligation to continue allowing our congregants to gather in our sanctuary to worship the Lord.
“This church is the core of life for thousands from nursery to seniors. Our church is not an event center. It is a family of lives who love and care for each other in very intensely personal ways. So essential to personal well-being that people rushed back as soon as they could. The utter unnecessary deprivation of all our people by completely shutting down the mutual love and care that sustains our people in all the exigencies, pressures and challenges of life, was cruel. And after 63 years of sacrificial, kindness to our city, to be repeatedly threatened with court-ordered efforts to shut Grace Community Church down when no one is sick, reveals an inexplicable preference for a mostly harmless virus over the life-enriching and necessary fellowship of the church. Our leaders and congregation see no real health threat to warrant such restraint. We see this action against us as an illegitimate misuse of power.”

Some community members have used every legal tool at their disposal to block the building. They were upset that Sterling Heights struck a deal with the US Justice Department to allow the mosque after the DOJ sued the city for not allowing the plan to proceed.

“The story of AICC, is no different than my Jewish family’s story,” said Levin. “Sometimes there was controversy and sometimes we were not welcome, but in the end we all came together as Americans.”

The book-burning culture of the Left is continuing its march.
As everyone knows, Amazon has achieved a virtual monopoly on the book industry. It has vast powers to decide what books people can read – and what they can’t read.
After 3½ years of publishing our groundbreaking 600-page book, The Health Hazards of Homosexuality: What the Medical and Psychological Research Reveals, Amazon has suddenly notified us that it has banned it from being printed or sold on its site. Amazon is also refusing to allow us to print any more copies for our own use and has even blocked us from accessing our account records. The book was printed (and also posted as an eBook) through Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing subsidiary.
Why this book is important
The mainstreaming and normalization of homosexuality has created a public health crisis affecting us all. This book documents in detail the enormous public health problems – both medical and psychological – associated with homosexual behavior.
The book took several years to compile. It brought together information from the federal Centers for Disease Control, major medical professional groups, and other mainstream medical sources, as well as LGBT medical and advocacy groups – all documented in 1,800 endnotes with up-to-date links. In today’s society, this is critical information everyone should know, especially given what’s being pushed on young children in schools across the country. Suddenly Amazon claims the book is “against our content guidelines”
Putting together and marketing a 600-page book with 1,800 footnotes on Amazon was not easy. In 2017, we worked with the Amazon staff that helped independent publishers (then named “Create Space”). For over three years they unquestionably knew what the book was about and what it contained. They had no problem with its content – until a month ago.
Then suddenly the book disappeared from the Amazon site. On July 17, we were notified that they have determined that the book violates their “content guidelines” and they have thus taken it down completely. They closed our account and will not allow us to open another account.
We wrote them back asking specifically what “content guidelines” the book violates, since it is a compilation of medical information from mainstream sources. They answered us that the book contains “content that is considered offensive.” That’s all there was to their answer!

Thus, Amazon has determined that a book documenting the health hazards of homosexual behavior is “offensive” and must not be allowed to be published. But in fact, Amazon is a cesspool of pornography and perversion.

Pastor John MacArthur’s Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, isn’t the only mega-church defying Governor Gavin Newsom’s COVID-inspired edicts and mandates against worship services being held indoors.
Following Newsom’s edict on July 13 moving most of the state back to Phase 1 — a complete ban on businesses and churches from operating indoors — Greg Fairrington, pastor of Destiny Church in Rocklin, video-taped his response. He said, “We will not be shutting down our church.… I believe my mandate as pastor is to obey the word of God, and worship is a part of what we do together as a church corporately, and we need to do this. It’s important that we do this.”
He added, “We are not going to allow the government to use data that is not supported factually to shut [our] church down. Do not let the fear the media is driving, do not let the fear that is out there, affect us as a church.”
Tim Thompson, the founder and current pastor of 412 Church Murrieta in Riverside County, opened his church for in-person services before Newsom’s July 13 announcement and has stayed open ever since. Thompson told the Western Journal: “Why is anyone allowing a government leader … why are we allowing the government to tell the church what to do, ever? That is what men and women fought and died for during the Revolutionary War: that we wouldn’t have the church being mandated by the state on how we worship God, where we worship God … what time, what manner.”
Thousands took to the beaches to circumvent Newsom’s orders. “Let Us Worship” events from Redding to San Diego drew believers to the beaches and other public places to worship.
Other churches filed suit against Newsom, including Harvest Rock Church and more than 160 other churches. The suit was filed four days after Newsom declared a reversion back to Phase 1, claiming that his order violated nearly every right guaranteed in the First Amendment — free exercise of religion, freedom of speech, freedom to assemble — and the 14th Amendment — equal rights for all citizens. It also charged Newsom with discrimination, as he was not enforcing his mandate against protestors but, in fact, was encouraging them.
Meanwhile, Harvest and its affiliated churches continued to hold in-person worship services.
A month after Newsom’s updated decree, the City of Pasadena sent a letter to Harvest Church’s Pastor, Che Ahn:
This letter is to remind you that violations of these Orders are criminal in nature. Each day in violation is a separate violation and carries with it a potential punishment of up to one year in jail and a fine for each violation….
Your compliance with these Orders is not discretionary, it is mandatory. Any violations in the future will subject your Church, owners, administrators, operators, staff, and parishioners to the above-mentioned criminal penalties as well as the potential closure of your Church.
Mat Staver, the founder of Liberty Counsel, which filed the Harvest Rock Church’s lawsuit, said:
The City of Pasadena, like Gov. Gavin Newsom, encourages thousands of people to gather for protests, but now considers in-person worship to be a criminal offense.
These actions of the City of Pasadena and Gov. Newsom are akin to repressive foreign regimes, not America where the First Amendment guarantees freedom of religion.
The First Amendment erects a wall which the state may not breach to close churches and incarcerate pastors and parishioners.
In earlier coverage of the confrontation brewing between Pastor John MacArthur of Grace Community Church and Los Angeles County here, we asked: “Are [the authorities] going to enforce their ruling? If so, how? With police, with guns and badges? Will they seal off the entrance to the church so that no one can enter? Will they arrest Pastor MacArthur?”
Now the question is: Will law enforcement also come into ongoing church services and arrest the worshippers exercising their First Amendment-protected rights?

(Fox News) — Los Angeles County is moving to hold a prominent megachurch pastor in contempt of court after he hosted three indoor services Sunday — effectively defying a late-night court order that his church must comply with California’s coronavirus restrictions.
The county is claiming that Grace Community Church and Pastor John MacArthur should each face $4,000 in fines — or $1,000 for every act of contempt they’re alleging. The county also seeks an additional $6,000 in fines from both defendants for violations of court orders, bringing the total to $20,000.
“Defendants’ actions this past Sunday likewise constitute four separate violations of the TRO and Court of Appeal Order by each Defendant. Therefore, the Court should sanction each Defendant $1,500 per violation, for a total of $6,000 per Defendant,” the request reads. Both MacArthur and his church are named as defendants.

PROFESSORS PROPOSE MAKING COVID-19 VACCINATIONS MANDATORY: “DO NOT HONOR RELIGIOUS OBJECTIONS”

CLEVELAND, Ohio — In an article recently published by USA Today, three professors at Case Western Reserve University — two of whom are doctors — call for COVID vaccinations to be mandatory, with no allowance for religious objections. They also suggest that “disincentives” be imposed to ensure compliance, from the revocation of certain government benefits, to denial of service from private businesses and the inability to ride public transportation.
“[W]hile the measures that will be necessary to defeat the coronavirus will seem draconian, even anti-American to some, we believe that there is no alternative. Simply put, getting vaccinated is going to be our patriotic duty,” write Dr. Michael Lederman, Maxwell J. Mehlman and Dr. Stuart Youngner in a piece entitled “Defeat COVID-19 by requiring vaccination for all. It’s not un-American, it’s patriotic.”
Lederman is an infectious disease specialist and professor of medicine at the school; Mehlman is a law professor and director of Case’s Law-Medicine Center; and Youngner is professor of bioethics and pyschiatry, with a focus on the issues of death, organ transplant ethics and end-of-life decision-making.
The men assert that when a vaccine is created and widely circulated, it will result in “herd immunity,” reducing the risk of infection for the public at large.
They state that the other option for herd immunity, waiting for enough people to become infected and then develop antibodies, is too dangerous of a concept. The professors point to the mortality rate in Sweden as an example, which has a higher deaths per capita rate than its neighbors.
Lederman, Mehlman and Youngner opine that to decline vaccination is to consequently put others’ lives at risk. They propose that vaccinations be free and easily accessible and that the only exemption be an adverse medical reaction to the injection.
“Do not honor religious objections. The major religions do not officially oppose vaccinations,” the article states. “Do not allow objections for personal preference [either], which violate the social contract.”
The men also put forward various “disincentives” that could be utilized as punishment for those who decline to receive a COVID vaccine, from being denied employment or service at a place of business for not being vaccinated to being unable to board public transportation.
“Vaccine refusers could lose tax credits or be denied nonessential government benefits. Health insurers could levy higher premiums for those who by refusing immunization place themselves and others at risk, as is the case for smokers,” they write.
“Private businesses could refuse to employ or serve unvaccinated individuals,” the professors further propose. “Schools could refuse to allow unimmunized children to attend classes. Public and commercial transit companies — airlines, trains and buses — could exclude refusers. Public and private auditoriums could require evidence of immunization for entry.”
They recommend that an immunization registry be put in place, though it is not clear whether such would be done by a healthcare network or the government, and that those vaccinated receive “expiration date-stamped certification cards.”
“These measures might seem draconian and would be costly, but ensuring universal vaccination is a negligible sacrifice compared with the costs, deaths and social upheaval that a sustained pandemic is having on our country,” Lederman, Mehlman and Youngner assert.
They point to the draft during World Wars I and II, noting that none were able to opt out and were rather subject for penalties for refusing to comply.
And while those who opposed the use of weapons for religious reasons were assigned to noncombatant roles, the professors simply end their composition with the statement: “There are no such alternatives for vaccination.”

On condition that his congregation wear masks and follow social-distancing guidelines, Pastor John MacArthur of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, was prepared to hold indoor services on Sunday.
Those were the conditions set by a lower court on Friday, which turned aside Los Angeles County’s demand to close the church to inside services altogether. MacArthur said he’d be willing to follow those guidelines as a gesture of good will, in anticipation of a full hearing on the matter on September 4.
But that wasn’t good enough for Los Angeles County and its health official. Late Friday night, they appealed the decision to the Second Appellate District’s Court of Appeals, asking it to set aside the lower court’s agreement with the church.
On Saturday, a three-judge panel of that court tossed that lower court’s ruling and agreement and said that the county could continue to ban indoor services at Grace Community Church.
The panel said they couldn’t decide the issue instantly, that the issues were too involved, and consequently the county’s demands must remain in place:
The questions presented in the County’s … petition are easy to articulate: May the county enforce the portion of its Health Order prohibiting “indoor religious services” as a means of limiting the spread of COVID-19?
Nested within this question is another: Does the prohibition on “indoor religious services” infringe upon the constitutional right of the Church (and its parishioners) to the free exercise of their religion?
Definitively resolving these questions, however, will entail the resolution of difficult questions of law. We certainly cannot resolve them before tomorrow [Sunday] morning’s church services….
Justice requires that [we] issue a stay order to preserve [our] own jurisdiction … while [we] prepare … to rule on the merits of those questions….
The County is [therefore] empowered to enforce [its] “indoor religious services” provision of its Health Order.
To which Pastor MacArthur said the equivalent of “nuts to you!” In his opening remarks on Sunday he told his congregation:
We agreed: we’ll comply for a few weeks. They [the county] asked for three weeks. We’re not wanting to be defiant. We will do what is reasonable.
That was not enough for the city.
They went to the appellate court Saturday late and had that order removed….
They don’t want us to meet. That’s obvious. They’re not willing to work with us. They just want to shut us down.
But we’re here to bring honor to the Lord. We are holding church … because our Lord commands it.
The congregation erupted with applause and cheers.
The next move is up to the court. Are they going to enforce their ruling? If so, how? With police, with guns, and badges? Will they seal off the entrance to the church so that no one can enter? Will they arrest Pastor MacArthur?
If so, is this really the message they want to deliver to the millions of believers across the country watching the confrontation between church and state play out?

Appeals Court Overturns Injunction That Allowed MacArthur to Hold Indoor Services, Church Gathers Anyway

LOS ANGELES — A California appeals court on Saturday overturned a temporary injunction that prohibited Los Angeles County from enforcing an order prohibiting indoor church services, a day after a trial judge allowed renowned pastor John MacArthur and Grace Community Church to hold gatherings in the building’s sanctuary. The church proceeded with services as usual despite the order.
“At this very preliminary stage in this litigation, the County has demonstrated a likelihood that it will prevail on the merits of enforcing its July 18, 2020 health order. The County’s health order is presumed to be constitutional unless its ‘unconstitutionality clearly, positively and unmistakably appears,'” wrote presiding justice Elwood Lui, along with judges Victoria Chavez and Brian Hoffstadt for the Second District, Division Two.
“Given the preliminary state of the evidentiary record as well as the weight of precedent favoring the enforcement of COVID-19-related restrictions, the presumption that the health order’s ‘indoor religious services’ provision is valid has yet to be rebutted,” they stated.
The court said that while the church may not hold services indoors under the County order, it is free to hold them outside.
The panel opined:
“Were we to not issue a stay of the trial court’s order, the County would be barred from enforcing that provision and the Church would be able to conduct its services indoors, even though indoor church services have been a ‘source of outbreak’ of COVID-19 due to the heightened risk of transmission when people are ‘in close proximity to one another for extended periods of time’ and they are ‘singing, shouting and chanting,’ risks that ‘physical distancing and wearing a mask’ ‘do not eliminate.'”
Therefore, due to “the harm that flows from having to conduct religious services outdoors instead of indoors, the balance at this early stage favors issuance of a stay,” it said.

Los Angeles County issued a press release likewise reiterating that outdoor services are permissible while indoor gatherings are not.
“Los Angeles County is pleased that the California Court of Appeal recognizes the vital importance of our health officer orders in protecting the lives and health of our residents as we work to slow the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus,” it stated.
“Outdoor religious observances are permitted; participants must wear cloth face coverings and maintain six feet of distance from each other unless they live in the same household.”
According to reports and online videos, Grace Community Church held indoor services anyway on Sunday out its stance that the government does not have jurisdiction over matters of the Church.
“[W]e’re not meeting because want to be rebellious,” MacArthur stated from the pulpit, according to the Washington Times. “We’re meeting because our Lord has commanded us to come together and worship Him.”
“They were going to be asking us to do two things, social distance and wear masks,” he explained of Friday’s initial ruling. “We agreed, [saying,] ‘Look, we’ll comply for a few weeks.’ They asked that for three weeks. We’re not wanting to be defiant. We will do what is reasonable. That was not enough for the [county]. They went to the appellate court Saturday late, and had that order removed.”
Attendees did not wear masks during the service, but some did social distance as evidenced by video footage of a children’s choir that performed standing feet apart from each other.
As previously reported, MacArthur and Grace Community Church, with the assistance of the Thomas More Society, filed suit against California Gov. Gavin Newsom, officials with the Los Angeles County Health Department and others last week to challenge the prohibition on indoor church services, over which he is being threatened with fines and/or jail time.
“Defendants’ mandates are not ‘narrowly tailored’ to further any compelling governmental interest,” the lawsuit stated. “Defendants have granted numerous special exemptions to their bans on public gatherings and conduct, including for purportedly ‘essential’ businesses and activities, including, for example, cannabis dispensaries, abortion and other medical providers, daycare and childcare, and shopping.”
“Defendants have also provided a de facto exemption for protests against the unjust death of George Floyd, without extending the same solicitude to Plaintiffs’ religious gatherings,” it argued. “Since these gatherings may be permitted, there can be no doubt that Defendants must also permit Plaintiffs to engage in religious activities and services.”
The County issued MacArthur and Grace Community Church a cease and desist letter on July 29, advising that MacArthur could be subject to a fine “of up to $1,000 and imprisonment of up to 90 days” for continuing to hold indoor church services. It noted that “[e]ach day that you conduct indoor services is a separate offense.”
“The County requests that you immediately cease holding indoor worship services or other indoor gatherings, and adhere to the health officer order directives governing activities at houses of worship,” the letter, written by attorney Jason Tokoro of the law firm Miller Barondess, LLP, states. “If you or Grace Community Church continue to hold indoor services in violation of the law, you are subject to criminal and civil liability.”
Grace Community Church had complied with the initial prohibition on indoor services in the spring because, according to a statement, leadership did not know at that time “the true severity of the virus” and they believe it is “legitimate for Christians to abstain from the assembly of saints temporarily in the face of illness or an imminent threat to public health.”
But because “[i]t is apparent that those original projections of death were wrong and the virus is nowhere near as dangerous as originally feared” and cancellations of 2021 public events signaled that shutdowns would drag out into next year, the church felt that California had “force[d] churches to choose between the clear command of our Lord and the government officials.”
A hearing is scheduled for Sept. 4.

Hallmark isn’t the only network that plans to air films with homosexual themes this upcoming holiday season. While some are stated to be celebrating the arrival of the Messiah, come to save men from their sins, Lifetime plans to air a movie with its main plot being about two men who are attracted to each other.
Among the 30 new films set for its “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime” lineup will be “The Christmas Set Up”.
“Hugo, a New York corporate lawyer, and his best friend Madelyn head to Milwaukee to spend the holidays with his mom Kate, who is also in charge of the local Christmas celebrations. Ever the matchmaker, Kate arranges for Hugo to run into Patrick, Hugo’s high school friend and secret crush, who has recently returned after a successful stint in Silicon Valley,” a description of the movie states.
“As they enjoy the local holiday festivities together, Hugo and Patrick’s attraction to each other is undeniable and it looks as though Kate’s well-intentioned Santa-style matchmaking is a success,” it says. “But as Hugo receives word of a big promotion requiring a move to London, he must decide what is most important to him.”
The story was written by Michael J. Murray and will be produced by Neshama Entertainment in association with MarVista Entertainment. Casting and production are stated to be underway this month.
Lifetime said in a press release that “The Christmas Set Up” and other films set to air demonstrate the company’s “commitment for diverse storytelling with its storylines, talent and characters.”
“We are thrilled to continue our legacy of creating a holiday destination that is welcoming to all at Lifetime,” Executive Vice President and Head of Programming Amy Winter remarked in a statement.
The outlet mentioned the upcoming movie in a post to social media on Aug. 3, stating that it is “the network’s first movie with a LGBTQ romance as the lead story.”
As previously reported, the Hallmark Channel aired its first movie with a same-sex “wedding” theme this past weekend and plans to release more films with homosexual themes as it plans to work with the organization GLAAD to “better represent the LGBTQ community across [its] portfolio of brands.”
Parent company Crown Media Family Networks advised last month that it is in “active negotiations” as it plans to include “LGBT storylines” in its “Countdown to Christmas” and “Miracles of Christmas” programming later this year.
“Diversity and inclusion is a top priority for us and we look forward to making some exciting programming announcements in the coming months, including announcements about projects featuring LGBTQ storylines, characters, and actors,” George Zaralidis, the vice president of network program publicity with Crown Media Family Networks, told NBC News.
The outlet reports that former Crown Media CEO told the Hollywood Reporter last year that Hallmark was open to “any type of movie of any type of relationship in any space.”
Executive Vice President of Programming and Network Publicity Michelle Vicary similarly outlined that Crown was “looking at pitches for LGBTQ movies … and we are looking to expand and represent the United States as a whole.”
As previously reported, while the common argument among those who identify as homosexual is that they were “born that way” and cannot change, the Bible teaches that all men are in the exact same predicament as none can shed their birth nature on their own.
Scripture states that all are born with the Adamic sin nature and are therefore “by nature the children of wrath” (Ephesians 2:3), having various inherent feelings and inclinations that are contrary to the law and will of God and being utterly incapable of changing by themselves (Job 14:4).
It is why Jesus came: to “save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21) and that they might be “saved from wrath through Him” (Romans 5:9) — taking out of the way for those who are saved both the penalty for, and the power of, sin.
Jesus also outlined in John 3:5-7 that men must be made anew by the second birth, and be transformed from being in Adam to being in Christ, or they cannot see the kingdom of Heaven.
“Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again.’”
This work of the Holy Spirit is known in Christianity as the doctrine of regeneration. A man or woman regenerated by Spirit of God will also undergo a lifelong process of sanctification, turning from realized sins to “walk as He walked” (1 John 2:6).

An animated series on the Disney Channel that centers on the adventures of a teenage girl who travels to another world and becomes a witch’s apprentice features the first bisexual character to air on the youth-aimed station, it has been revealed.
“The Owl House” creator Dana Terrace recently outlined on Twitter that as she herself identifies as bisexual, she wanted to depict one of the characters as being attracted to both males and females. At first, she was told that such a depiction would not be allowed.
“In dev (development) I was very open about my intention to put queer kids in the main cast,” Terrace wrote. “I’m a horrible liar, so sneaking it in would’ve been hard haha. When we were greenlit, I was told by certain Disney leadership that I could NOT represent any form of bi or gay relationship on the channel.”
However, Terrence said that she continued to push the idea and was eventually given the go-ahead.
“I’m bi! I want to write a bi character, [expletive]! Luckily my stubbornness paid off and now I am VERY supported by current Disney leadership. Not to mention the amazingness of this crew,” she stated.
“The Owl House”, which began airing in January of this year, is a fantasy series about a 14-year-old girl named Luz (played by Sarah-Nicole Robles) who travels to another world — the Demon Realm of the Boiling Isles — where humans are not well-liked. The Isles are stated to be a place where “every myth you humans have is caused by a little of our world leaking into yours.”
Luz becomes the apprentice of a witch named Eda (played by Wendie Malick) and a demon who goes by the name King as he claims he was once a ruler and desires to regain his power (played by Alex Hirsch).
Students attend the Hexside School of Magic and Demonics, and inhabitants who “do not conform to the norms of society” are sent to the Conformatorium, supervised by Warden Wrath.
Episodes include “A Lying Witch and a Warden”, “Witches Before Wizards”, “Wing It Like Witches”, and “Young Blood, Old Souls”.
According to reports, in some episodes, Luz is portrayed as being attracted to men, but in the episodes “Enchanting Grom Fright” and “Wing It Like Witches”, viewers note that the witch Amity begins forming a friendship with Luz and had intentions to ask her to prom (Grom) as her date. The two dance in one scene.
Terrace and others confirmed that the depiction of Luz was meant to be bisexual.
“Back when I made GF (‘Gravity Falls’) Disney FORBADE me from any explicit LGBTQ+ rep. Apparently ‘happiest place on earth’ meant ‘straightest’ But as of today, thanks to @DanaTerrace & team there are explicitly queer ANIMATED MAIN CHARACTERS on DISNEY TV. I’m so proud & happy to say that,” wrote Alex Hirsch.
However, not everyone was thrilled about the revelation.
“Why not let children be children? Children don’t need to learn about sexual orientations or sexual attraction on cartoons,” one commenter wrote under Terrace’s tweet. “No more ‘Owl House’ in my house.”
“Children need to focus on being children, not sexuality at a young age. Disney’s twisted, shoving alter-sexuality down our kids throats. No, at a young age, this isn’t right, isn’t normal and this agenda needs to be dismantled,” another stated.
“Adults should stop trying to get into children’s heads. These are adult topics being forced into tender innocent minds. Shame,” a third likewise opined.
As previously reported, besides its more recent inclusion of homosexuality in its productions (“Andi Mack”, “Star vs. the Forces of Evil”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Onward”, “DuckTales”), Disney, known for its “Magic Kingdom,” has been recognized for decades for its focus on magic, sorcery and witchcraft, from its early productions of “Fantasia” (1940), “Snow White” (1937) and “Bedknobs and Broomsticks” (1971) to the present-day “Maleficent” (2014 and 2019), “Frozen” (2013 and 2019) and “Onward” (2020).
Witchcraft and homosexuality are both forbidden in God’s law.
THE GOSPEL
While a common argument among those who struggle with feelings toward the same sex is that they were “born this way,” the Bible teaches that all are born with the Adamic sin nature (Romans 5:19), having various inherent feelings and inclinations that are contrary to the law of God and being utterly incapable of changing by themselves (Job 14:4).
All men, therefore, face the same predicament, being natural lawbreakers and guilty in the sight of God (Romans 3:19), evoking His wrath.
“[W]e all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others,” Ephesians 2:3 outlines.
“All we like sheep have gone astray. We have turned every one to his own way,” Isaiah 53:6 reads, “and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
It is why Jesus came: to do what men could not do for themselves, to “save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21).
Scripture outlines that Jesus came to be the propitiation for men’s sins (1 John 2:2; 1 John 4:10), a doctrine in Christianity known as substitutionary atonement, and to save men from the wrath of God for their violations against His law (Romans 4:25, Romans 5:9, Romans 5:16), a doctrine known as justification.
In light of Christ laying down his life for His enemies (Romans 5:10), God calls all men to repent and believe the gospel (Mark 1:15).
Acts 2:38-40 exhorts, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
The Bible also teaches about regeneration, as in addition to sparing guilty men from eternal punishment, Christ sent his Holy Spirit to make those who would repent and believe new creatures in the here and now, with new desires and an ability to do what is pleasing in the sight of God by His indwelling and empowerment (Ezekiel 11:19, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Titus 3:5).
Jesus said that men must be born again — a work of the Spirit transforming their very nature from being in Adam to being in Christ, or they cannot see the Kingdom of God (John 3:3-8).
“Jesus answered and said unto him, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’ Nicodemus saith unto him, ‘How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb and be born?’ Jesus answered, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again.’”
Ezekiel speaks of God transplanting the regenerated with a new heart and spirit, stating, “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.”

According to Jenna Ellis, Donald Trump’s attorney who represented Grace Community Church and MacArthur in court, the church staff has agreed to adhere to and enforce social distancing and mask rules until the full hearing which is scheduled for September 4.

According to the Thomas More Society, a national not-for-profit law firm dedicated to restoring respect in law for life, family, and religious liberty, John MacArthur and Grace Community Church in Los Angeles, California have filed a lawsuit against the governor of California, Gavin Newsom, Attorney General Xavier Becerra, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, and other California and Los Angeles County public health officials, for the state’s “unconstitutional and onerous coronavirus pandemic regulations against Grace Community Church” and seeks a judgment against the defendants that the health orders “violate the California Constitution.”
In recent weeks, John MacArthur and Grace Community Church have been the subject of fury from leftist politicians and leftist Evangelicals because of his unwavering stance against government tyranny and its overreach into the affairs of the ecclesial matters of the Church. Pointing out the hypocrisy of government officials who have done little to nothing to suppress the mass gatherings of violence, looting, and rioting in the streets of California’s cities, MacArthur quipped during his last service, “welcome to our peaceful protest.” Al Mohler, arguably the most influential leader in the Southern Baptist Convention, currently the nation’s largest Protestant denomination, argued that for MacArthur’s church to remain open during the coronavirus pandemic could actually be “malpractice.”
As a result of the threats, MacArthur and Grace Community Church are now being represented by Jenna Ellis, Donald Trump’s attorney, and Charles LiMandri. According to the Thomas More Society, the complaint states that the American people have begun to see that they are being cheated by their own government.
“They have witnessed how the onerous restrictions imposed on them by public officials to allegedly fight the COVID-19 pandemic simply do not apply to certain, favored groups. When many went to the streets to engage in ‘political protests’ against ‘racism’ and ‘police brutality,’ these protestors refused to comply with the pandemic restrictions. Instead of enforcing the public health orders, public officials were all too eager to grant a de facto exception for these favored protestors.”
The Thomas More Society said in an email that “according to attorneys for the church it is time for California to recognize that Christians are not second-class citizens, and the court must step in to do its job applying the protections the U.S. and California State Constitutions provide to every individual equally and to churches in particular.”

CALIFORNIA DISTRICT ATTORNEY DECLARES COUNTY A “SANCTUARY FOR WORSHIP & PRAISE IN CHURCH”

PASO ROBLES, Calif. — A district attorney in California recently declared his county a “sanctuary for worship and praise in church.”
A video posted to YouTube shows San Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow speaking at an Independence Day gathering in Paso Robles, where he spoke about his concerns regarding the state ban on singing during indoor church services due to possible transmission of the coronavirus.
“I’m proud that each one of us has our right to worship in the way that we want to,” he stated. “Our state over the last few years has been letting out people out of prisons early, back into our communities — and especially right now — but yet our governor wants to make it a crime to worship and praise God in church by singing to our almighty God.”
“And that to me is an example of where right has become wrong and wrong has become right,” Dow said.
To cheers, he then declared San Obispo a “sanctuary city” to praise God in church.
“I’ll tell you right now for the first time with a microphone: By the power vested in me as District Attorney of San Luis Obispo County, I declare San Luis Obispo County a sanctuary county for worship and praise in church,” Dow proclaimed.
“When we’re releasing the real criminals into our community but we’re trying to criminalize those that are dedicated to exercising their First Amendment rights, we’ve gone wrong, and I won’t allow that to happen in San Luis Obispo County while I’m the district attorney.”
As previously reported, on July 6, the California Department of Health (DOH) released guidelines pertaining to “places of worship, providers of religious services and cultural ceremonies.”
The document explained that there have been outbreaks in “a range of workplaces,” which include places of worship, hospitals, food production facilities and warehouses, and that it is imperative that preventative measures be taken to protect workers and the public.
“Even with adherence to physical distancing, convening in a congregational setting of multiple different households to practice a personal faith carries a relatively higher risk for widespread transmission of the COVID-19 virus, and may result in increased
rates of infection, hospitalization, and death, especially among more vulnerable populations,” the document stated.
“In particular, activities such as singing and chanting negate the risk reduction achieved through six feet of physical distancing,” it asserted.
Therefore, “[p]laces of worship must … discontinue indoor singing and chanting activities and limit indoor attendance to 25% of building capacity or a maximum of 100 attendees, whichever is lower,” the DOH said.

Three churches in the state have filed suit to challenge the prohibition, contending that “[t]he worship ban … on its face and as applied prohibits all singing and chanting in places of worship, even if Plaintiffs follow Center for Disease Control and Prevention and state guidelines for social distancing and mask wearing etc., which is a violation of Plaintiffs’ right to the free exercise of religion.”
Dow also released a video on July 31, explaining that he still stands behinds his words declaring San Obispo a sanctuary city where Christians can freely sing in church.
“I am firmly committed to the principle that it would be a severe injustice for my office to charge a person with a crime who has simply chosen to practice their faith by singing in church,” he said. “Today in 2020, more than ever, we need more people attending their houses of worship and seeking help from the Almighty for an answer to the coronavirus.”
Dow was soon criticized by the San Obispo Tribune editorial board, which wrote in an op-ed that his statements were a “terrible message to send at a time when coronavirus cases are soaring; it legitimizes the idea that some public health rules are questionable and gives the public tacit permission to break the law.”
Some reports state that violations of the DOH guidelines did not carry criminal penalties.
California currently prohibits indoor church services altogether in a number of counties.

John MacArthur has been on the defensive from practically every angle for the last several months. From playing defense against the woke feminist social justice Evangelical camp after rightly telling Beth Moore to “go home,” to now being threatened with jail time by his government leaders for having church during the coronavirus “pandemic,” John MacArthur’s steadfastness and unwavering faithfulness to the gospel should be an example to every Christian alive today.
Sadly, some of the harshest attacks come from within the most prominent leaders of Evangelicalism. But, today, MacArthur is being attacked by “gay Christians” who team up with Beth Moore & Co for his biblical views on sexuality. Nate Collins explains how John MacArthur made a biblical comparison of sexually aberrant behaviors — except, of course, Collins didn’t explain it that way — and called John MacArthur’s views “toxic.” One can only assume that Collins would find the vast majority of the Bible to be “toxic.”
Collins, a sodomite leader from the Revoice Conference launched his attack today against John MacArthur and Beth Moore’s daughter, Melissa, joined the chorus calling it “awful” and how it “hurts my heart” that he had to “endure this.”
Revoice is the “gay Christian” movement that has been largely condemned by conservative Evangelicals and even condemned by more moderates including Al Mohler. Revoice is led by openly-gay but “celibate” men who claim to be Christians but whose sexual orientation is not (and cannot be) changed. This movement, led by people like Nate Collins and Preston Sprinkle, advocate for acceptance and inclusion of homosexuals in the ranks of Christianity and those who choose to remain single (from the opposite sex) should form close, intimate, marriage-like relationships with people of the same sex with the exception that the abstain from intercourse.
Earlier this year, Melissa Moore affirmed a lesbian priest in her homosexual relationship. Beth Moore, herself, has exposed herself as full-on egalitarian — that is, one who rejects the biblical model for the roles of men and women — and has launched a tirade against biblical womanhood. She has practically embraced homosexuality and has joined hands with gay activists a number of times for various causes — usually for opposing the biblical view on something. She has refused to denounce homosexuality as sinful and says that doing so is “exceeding Scripture.”
She has joined the chorus on the liberal left in denouncing white people and always assuming the worst about straight, white males. She promotes unity with well known false teachers like Joyce Meyer and has even declared that spending time in God’s Word is not the same thing as spending time with God.
She’s a mocker and has referred to those who go to bed early on Saturday nights for church as “trolls.” And she has made a habit of using acronyms for cuss words to “rebuke” her “fellow leaders.” Bottom line, she has no respect for the authority of God’s Word. Beth Moore’s influence extends past just her family — she has turned much of the Southern Baptist Convention toward this wicked ideology.

JOS, Nigeria (Morning Star News) – A Muslim Fulani herdsmen raid on a village in central Nigeria’s Kogi state on Wednesday (July 29) killed 14 Baptist Christians, including 13 members of an extended family, sources said.
Police said the wife, mother, all the children and other relatives of one man – 13 in all – were killed in the 2 a.m. attack on Agbadu-Daruwana. He also lost his younger brother, an aunt and uncle and a sister-in-law, Kogi State Command Commissioner of Police Ede Ayuba said in a statement.
“In that family, it is only one person that survived,” Ayuba said.
Leaders of the All Africa Baptist Fellowship posted on the group’s Facebook page that the victims were members of the Bethel Baptist church in Agbadu-Daruwana, part of the Lokoja Baptist Association of Kogi State Baptist Conference.
“They have since been buried,” the post read. “All the community members, mainly Christians, have all fled. Please pray for God’s intervention against antichrist in the land.”
Area resident Rachael Nuhu told Morning Star News in text messages that the assailants were Fulanis, predominantly Muslim cattle herders who also have attacked surrounding villages.
“They invaded the village armed with guns and riding motorcycles,” Nuhu said. “They were speaking in the Fulani language as they attacked our people. This is not the first time they’re attacking our communities, as other villages around us had been attacked in a similar way by these herdsmen.”
Commissioner Ayuba said that in addition to the 14 persons killed, six were wounded.
Police and government officials are under pressure from the Nigerian government of President Muhammadu Buhari, a Fulani, to refrain from mentioning Fulanis in herdsmen attacks, and Kogi Gov. Yahaya Bello condemned the attack by “heartless criminals” in Kogi/Koto Karfe County….
