Donald Trump is expanding his 2017 executive order that built on the nation’s “Mexico City Policy” to cut off more streams of revenue from international organizations providing or promoting abortions overseas.

Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers were prevented from accessing hundreds of millions of dollars in U.S. taxpayer funds. And the proposal to expand the order could lead to even more cuts to their funding.

Life News:

According to the Catholic News Agency, the proposal expands the Mexico City Policy to include military and government contracts overseas.

Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser praised the Trump administration for “boldly defending life” across the world.

“From day one, they have championed innovative policies to protect unborn children and their mothers, as well as taxpayers,” Dannenfelser said. “This new proposed rule builds on that success, further preventing the big abortion industry from exporting abortion on demand around the world on American taxpayers’ dime.”

President Ronald Reagan’s original Mexico City Policy affected about $600 million in USAID grants. Trump’s expansion of the policy will be global in reach.

Catholic News:

The expanded Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance policy covers nearly $9 billion in U.S. foreign aid under the State Department, USAID, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Department of Defense. This includes, for example, grants to foreign NGOs under international health programs to fight AIDS and infectious diseases, or to provide maternal and child nutrition.

Pro-abortion groups are not pleased. Planned Parenthood tweeted on Monday about the “unprecedented expansion of a harmful policy.”

The expanded rule would “require all groups that receive global health aid contracts to agree not to promote and/or provide elective abortions.” Those that do will not receive taxpayer funds.

When Trump first proposed the rule in 2017, Planned Parenthood warned of an unmitigated disaster with “gaps” in health care coverage in the Third World. But a state department report published earlier this year disputes that idea. They found very few gaps were created and those that were were filled by governments or private donations.

Life News:

Just eight of the 1,340 groups that received U.S. aid money under the Obama administration refused to comply with Trump’s new pro-life policy, according to the report. An additional 47 sub-awardees also refused to comply, the report found.

“Principled pro-life policies can exist hand and hand with … quality health care,” a Trump administration official told reporters.

The few, limited health care disruptions were due to Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion groups’ own decision to refuse to comply with the policy. In doing so, they placed the killing of unborn babies in abortions at a higher priority than real, life-saving health care for impoverished women and families across the globe.

If Planned Parenthood wants to save the Third World by killing babies, it can use part of its billion-dollar budget not funded by U.S. taxpayers to do it.

Trump Administration Seeks to Further Restrict International Abortion Funding

The Trump administration signaled on Monday that it wishes to further restrict federal funds going to international abortion providers. A proposed new rule would require foreign entities that receive aid through contracts with the U.S. Government to agree not to provide or promote abortion as a family-planning method.

The proposed legislation is an expansion of the “Mexico City Policy,” which blocks federal funding for international NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) that either promote or provide abortions. First enacted by Ronald Reagan in 1984, the Mexico City Policy has been a political seesaw ever since. Since it is an executive order, it can be rescinded when another president takes office. Bill Clinton rescinded the rule in 1993, George W. Bush re-instituted it in 2001 and Barack Obama again rescinded it in 2009.

Called a “global gag rule” by opponents, Donald Trump re-instituted the protocol in 2017 and now looks to expand upon it by including international groups that receive funding — even through military and government contracts — to agree not to promote or provide elective abortions. The new rule would deny funding for any global health organization — even those that don't specialize in family planning — if they provide or counsel for abortions.

The protocol changes, dubbed Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance (PLGHA), can be read in the Federal Register.

Pro-life groups were ecstatic about the proposed rule change. “We thank President Trump and Secretary Pompeo for boldly defending life on the world stage. From day one they have championed initiative policies to protect unborn children and their mothers, as well as taxpayers,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List. “This new proposed rule builds on that success, further preventing the big abortion industry from exporting abortion on demand around the world on American taxpayers' dime.”

Opponents of the rule change argue that because of the abortion restrictions, groups that offer other services such as HIV treatment, family planning, tuberculosis testing and treatment, and maternal and child nutrition services have already been adversely affected by the Mexico City Policy.

“This administration is fully aware that the global gag rule is coercive and demonstrably hurts women and families worldwide,” read a statement from Zara Ahmed, the associate director of Federal Issues for the Guttmacher Institute, a pro-abortion think tank.

“By choosing to expand it even further, they are intentionally depriving people of live-saving and essential reproductive healthcare all over the globe in service of a manipulative ideological agenda.”

Planned Parenthood Global called the new rule “yet another unprecedented expansion of a harmful policy.”

But a State Department report issued in August found that the effect on the vast majority of health service grants issued by the government would be negligible since most participants agreed to the requirements.

“The majority of foreign NGOs that receive US global health assistance funding have accepted the terms of PLGHA in their awards. In total, only eight out of 1,340 prime awardees with awards in place between May 2017 and September 30, 2018, have declined to agree to the Policy, as well as a small portion of sub-awardees.”

So, it's simple. Just stop providing and promoting abortions and the NGOs can have taxpayer money to treat whatever disease or malady that they're willing and able to treat.  Any NGO that refuses to comply with the rule is choosing abortion over all those other services that they claim are necessary.

What the Mexico City Policy really hurts is only the abortion industry. Because of the policy International Planned Parenthood Federation was forced to close 22 abortion mills in sub-Saharan Africa as of 2018. British abortion provider Marie Stopes International was also forced to shut down several African facilities.

The proposed new rule is just another small, incremental step in the battle to rid the world of the scourge of abortion. As soon as a Democrat gets back into the White House, the Mexico City Policy will almost certainly be rescinded quickly. But it's another signal that President Trump — whose views on abortion were admittedly shaky before taking office — has become possibly the most pro-life president of the modern era.

SOUTHERN BAPTIST PASTORS TO RELEASE JOINT STATEMENT ENDORSING PRO-ABORTION, PRO-LGBT, “TRUE CHRISTIAN” JOE BIDEN

David Bumgardner describes himself as a “21-year-old student, theologian-in-training, preacher, and content-creator” who is a regular on several podcasts and radio shows, a speaker, and serves as a Pastoral Intern at Faith Memorial Baptist Church in Archer City, Texas.

Bumgardner, according to his Facebook page, is a student at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a prominent Southern Baptist seminary that, like most Southern Baptist entities, has been given over to unbiblical thinking and “woke” theology.

Unsurprisingly, Bumgardner, like many Southern Baptist pastors and students, has also made a sharp turn to the left and bought into the false narrative that the current president, Donald Trump, is some kind of egotistic white supremacist that, for whatever reason, needs to be removed from office at all costs — even at the expense of innocent lives, religious freedom, and the right to live out a Christian worldview.

The implications are far more than political, they are theological. The line of reasoning that Bumgardner employs stems from a vastly deficient and sub-biblical epistemology and worldview.

“Very soon I, along with trusted and respected evangelical ministers and leaders, will be releasing a joint evangelical declaration outlining the case for #BidenHarris2020,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

“I believe Donald Trump is a threat to the flourishing of my neighbors,” he continued, “I believe he is a threat to national security. I believe he is a threat to national unity. I believe he is stoking the fires of civil and racial unrest. I believe his hypocrisy is palpable and manifest. I believe he is a blasphemer who does not care about evangelicals.”

Apparently, however, he believes that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are not? Maybe. I don’t know. He sounds foolish, though.

“I believe Republicans have failed to introduce any meaningful legislation to reduce the number of abortions performed in the Unites States,” he continued, as though he actually believes what he’s writing here. And even if it were true, it’s not the point.

He continues, “I believe single-issue voting is an abdication of civic duty.”

The argument of “single-issue voting” is massively uninformed, at best. It is completely absurd. While the killing of innocent children is certainly at the top of the priority list for many — and rightfully so — there is absolutely nothing that the Democrats endorse on their platform that a biblically-minded Christian could endorse. Nothing. We’re talking not just about abortion, but religious freedom, freedom of speech, theft and wealth redistribution, lawlessness and open borders, anti-police sentiment, the advancement of LGBTQ indoctrination and the promotion of sexual anarchy, and the list goes on. This is who Bumgardner says he and his “Evangelical” friends will be officially endorsing.

“I am voting for Joe Biden because he is the *true* “Christian option” in this election,” he says. He then goes on to try to neutralize his opponents by saying that he will not question the salvation of those who disagree with him and implies that it would be foolish to “deride” him for his decision by citing Proverbs 18:13.

Yet, the Scriptures tell us that we will know them by their fruits — and it is clear that his fruits are in opposition to the biblical teachings on priorities. Therefore, it is Bumgardner who is foolish, and we have every right — and duty — to judge him for it (1 Corinthians 5:12). It would be foolish not to.

If someone who claims to be a Christian and has studied the Bible for a considerable amount of time actually believes this way, there is no way around it; this person has not been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and has no business preaching or leading a church.

THE CONTINUATION OF THE “MIRACULOUS” AND SPIRITUAL GIFTS

The miraculous gifts recorded and described in the New Testament did not cease at the end of the apostolic era. While the apostolic office is closed, God the Holy Spirit continues to sovereignly dispense spiritual gifts (including those we may classify as “miraculous”) for the edification of the local assembly of believers, the furtherance of the Kingdom, and the vindication of the Gospel believers boldly proclaim. Believers should earnestly desire and pursue the spiritual gifts; they should seek to practice their gifts in the gathered assembly in an orderly and edifying manner while submitting to the pastor/elders God has placed over them.

PRO-ABORTION, PRO-LGBTQ BIDEN RELEASES SECOND CAMPAIGN AD TOUTING CATHOLIC FAITH, FRIENDSHIP WITH POPE FRANCIS

PETITION: Urge Catholic bishops to refuse Holy Communion to pro-abortion Biden! Sign the petition here.

UNITED STATES, August 12, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – Pro-abortion former Vice President and 2020 Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has released another campaign video touting his supposed Catholic faith and friendship with Pope Francis.

The short video released last week shows Biden and Pope Francis smiling and greeting each other, while a voiceover of Biden speaks about an occasion when the two men met at the Vatican.

Biden goes on to praise Pope Francis and identify his presidential campaign with the values displayed in Francis’ pontificate.

Biden says that he met a group of nuns after leaving his meeting with Pope Francis. To Biden, the nuns “epitomize everything Pope Francis talked about in his homily and what he stands for.”

Biden identified what Pope Francis stands for as “generosity to other people,” “reaching out,” and “making it a point to understand that we are our brother’s keeper.”

“We are our brother’s keeper,” Biden says. “We have an obligation. I think that’s the way, the only way, we’re going to make the world better and safer.”

Last month, Biden promised if elected president, he will reinstate the Obama administration’s birth control mandate forcing Catholic nuns to participate in the provision of contraception.

Earlier this year Biden released another campaign video featuring Pope Francis in which Biden says that he goes to Mass and says the rosary and that faith is what has helped him through the most difficult moments in his life.

Biden has made taxpayer-funded abortion on demand and enshrining into lawthe many demands of the LGBT lobby a key part of his 2020 presidential platform.

He has said that if he wins the election, he will direct the Justice Department to “do everything in its power” to block state laws that place any restriction on abortion, including parental notification requirements, ultrasound laws, and waiting periods.

After the outbreak of the coronavirus crisis, when restrictions were placed on various medical services, Biden said abortion is an “essential health care service” and that it is necessary “to ensure that women have access to all health services during this crisis.”

In June Planned Parenthood, the world’s largest abortion business, endorsed Biden for president and later that month Biden affirmed his support of abortion “under any circumstance.” Last month, Biden promised to restore domestic and overseas funding to the abortion industry, and undo the Trump administration’s efforts not to finance abortions with federal money. Yesterday he announcedvehemently pro-abortion Sen. Kamala Harris of California as his partner on the Democrat presidential ticket.

During her time as Attorney General of California, Harris played a key role in defending Planned Parenthood over its sale of aborted baby parts (which violated multiple federal laws, according to undercover video of abortion industry personnel). Most of the footage was taken in California, yet Harris announcedshe would investigate the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) journalists rather than Planned Parenthood, and went on to raid the home of CMP head David Daleiden while accepting the abortion giant’s donations for her Senate run.

“By selecting a running mate who is staunchly pro-abortion and anti-religious liberty, Joe Biden has once again made it clear that his self-styled ‘Catholic identity’ is something which can be cast aside whenever it's politically expedient,” commented Brian Burch, president of CatholicVote. “Like Joe Biden himself, Kamala Harris favors radical abortion policies including late-term abortion paid for by taxpayers, as well as forcing Catholic religious orders like the Little Sisters of the Poor to provide abortion drugs in their healthcare plans.”

Burch added, “In November 2018, Harris ruthlessly criticized Brian Buescher, a Catholic federal district court nominee from Nebraska, about his affiliation with the Knights of Columbus. It is clear that a Biden-Harris ticket threatens the values Catholics in this country hold most dear.”

Earlier this year, Biden said on social media that “transgender equality is the civil rights issue of our time.”

As vice president, the first “wedding” Biden officiated was between two men.

Last month several well-known U.S. Catholics priests said that because of Biden’s pro-abortion stance and LGBT activism that Catholics cannot support him.

But last year, Biden told a PBS interviewer that Pope Francis gives him Communion, after a Catholic priest followed Church law and denied him Communion because of his public support for abortion.

Pope Franics has never publicly criticized Biden, but last year compared Trump’s border security to the Berlin Wall that divided communist East Germany from freedom in the West. In December, Pope Francis appeared to draw a comparisonbetween Herod and Trump.

In February 2016, during the Republican presidential primaries, Pope Francis commented on Trump while on the papal plane returning from Mexico.

“A person who only thinks about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian,” he said, according to a transcript of his remarks. In the same press scrum, Pope Francis said that he would not comment on Italy’s same-sex civil union legislation “because the Pope is for everybody and he can’t insert himself in the specific internal politics of a country.”

February 20, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) — Pro-abortion former vice president and 2020 Democratic hopeful Joe Biden has released a new campaign video featuring Pope Francis in which Biden says he goes to Mass and says the rosary and that faith is what has helped him through the most difficult moments in his life.

Last year, Biden told a PBS interviewer that Pope Francis gives him Communion, after he was denied Communion by a Catholic priest because of his public support for abortion.

Biden says in the new video: “Faith is what has gotten me through difficult times in my life,” which include the deaths of his first wife and eldest daughter in a car accident in 1972 and his son’s death from brain cancer in 2015.

At one point in the video, Biden says: “I go to Mass and I say the rosary. I find it to be incredibly comforting.”

Biden is shown in the video attending Mass, speaking from church pulpits, and praying with a number of different people. He is also shown meeting Pope Francis, with both men appearing to be smiling in the image.

The Obama-Biden administration notably tried to force the Little Sisters of the Poor to participate in the provision of abortion-inducing drugs and contraception and threatened schools with the loss of federal funding if they wouldn’t let boys in girls’ bathrooms and vice versa, among other things.

Biden was the frontrunner during much of the Democrat primary campaign but has now slipped to second place behind Bernie Sanders. According to the current RealClearPolitics polling average, Biden now has a 17.8% of the vote, 10% behind Bernie Sanders and less than 2% more than late entry Michael Bloomberg.

Reverend Warnock has been an advocate for women’s health and reproductive justice his entire life and is proud to have been endorsed by NARAL and Planned Parenthood Action Fund.

Since his time as a teen peer counselor in high school and his work with the Georgia Department of Health during college, Warnock has fought to increase safe and affordable access to contraceptives and achieve reproductive justice for women and families. While working with the State, he also helped author a statewide curriculum for uniform training for Georgia’s teen peer counselors. As Senior Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, he has carried that work forward by centering choice and justice in his ministry.

With Washington politicians still working to overturn Roe v. Wade and repeal the Affordable Care Act, which would allow insurance companies to treat pregnancy as a pre-existing condition, Reverend Warnock recognizes that women’s health care is under attack like never before. As a Senator, he will stand up for reproductive justice and a woman’s right to choose.

Warnock believes in a woman’s right to choose and that it is a decision between her and her doctor – not the government. He knows the importance of family planning and contraceptive access to achieving fair and equal economic outcomes. That’s why in the U.S. Senate, he will

  • Fight to protect access to quality, affordable reproductive health care;
  • Support the Affordable Care Act’s preventive care protections for access to birth control, cancer screenings, and other life saving care;
  • Push to root out the biases in our health care system that result in deadly inequalities, such as higher maternal mortality rates among Black women;
  • Support judicial nominees that support a woman’s right to choose and uphold Roe v. Wade;and
  • Oppose all partisan attacks defunding health care providers like Planned Parenthood.

Reverend Warnock is a proud ally of the LGBTQ+ community. As a civil rights advocate, he firmly believes that there’s no such thing “as equal rights for some.”

Reverend Warnock believes that our nation’s commitment to equality is sacred and inviolable. That belief has led him to routinely advocate from the pulpit on behalf of the LGBTQ+ community, to mourn in moments of tragedy, such as after the Pulse Nightclub shooting, and to celebrate in times of triumph, as after the Supreme Court’s recognition of marriage equality.

As the Pastor of “America’s Freedom Church,” he also believes that the church should be the first institution to defend vulnerable communities.

As a Senator, he will fight for and support the Equality Act to protect members of the LGBTQ+ community from housing, financial, and employment discrimination; advocate for gender inclusive policies and resources to help at-risk LGBTQ+ youth who face higher risks of homelessness and other challenges; and push to ban discriminatory federal practices that stop trans people from serving in our armed forces.

Warnock would also fight to ensure that there is fairness and equality in health care, working to expand access to medications like PrEP and other life saving care for all communities.

TRUMP ADMINISTRATION INTRODUCES “DE FACTO GOVERNMENT BAN” ON RESEARCH USING ABORTED FETAL CELLS

Trump Admin Introduces “De Facto Government Ban” On Research Using Aborted Fetal Cells

A Trump-appointed bioethics advisory board issued a report on Tuesday that U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex M. Azar II calls a “de facto government ban” on funding research using aborted fetal cells.

The group, officially called the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Human Fetal Tissue Research Ethics Advisory Board, recommended the American government reject funding for 13 of 14 research projects planning to use aborted baby body parts.

The applications, which were sent to the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), had already been recommended for funding.

However, under President Trump’s new process, scientists funded by the NIH to work on human fetal tissue projects have to go through a second layer of ethics screening before being approved.

LifeNews.com reports, “The board examined 14 research grant proposals based on ‘the scientific justification for the use and quantity of HFT [human fetal tissue] proposed and the use of alternate models’ as well as whether there was adequate informed consent for the mothers donating it, according to the report.”

One study the group rejected was allegedly “too interwoven with the practice of abortion,” and they argued other studies could use miscarried babies instead of aborted ones.

The board noted they wouldn’t have issues with most of the projects if they could find more ethical materials to work with.

In 2018, Trump’s HHS put $20 million into a project searching for ethical alternatives to aborted fetal tissue in scientific research.

Predictably, many on the left have attacked the advisory board and accused it of being biased.

For example, a virologist at the University of Pittsburgh named Carolyn Coyne said, “This is a ban disguised as an ethics committee. So, the ‘ethics’ of research was decided by a largely Christian/Catholic, white panel.”

However, other scientists disagree and understand there are ethical alternatives available for research that do not involve ripping fetuses from the womb.

HHS Secretary Azar will ultimately make the final decision on whether or not to fund each of the 14 proposals.

NEBRASKA BANS “DISMEMBERMENT ABORTION”, ALLOWS KILLING OF “UNBORN CHILDREN” VIA “SUCTION”

Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts signed a bill on August 15, LB 814, which bans what is termed “dismemberment abortion.”

According to the legislation that was introduced by State Senator Suzanne Geist back in January, “dismemberment abortion” is described as “an abortion in which, with the purpose of causing the death of an unborn child, a person purposely dismembers the body of a living unborn child and extracts him or her one piece at a time from the uterus through use of clamps, grasping forceps, tongs, scissors, or similar instruments that, through the convergence of two rigid levers, slice, crush, or grasp a portion of the unborn child’s body to cut or rip it off.”

The bill does not, however, ban other types of abortion, including “suction” abortions which would result in a form of dismemberment.

While the law still allows for the execution of innocent children by other methods, Geist called the legislation a “significant step forward for the pro-life movement.”

The text of the bill reads, “Dismemberment abortion does not include (i) An abortion in which suction is used to dismember the body of an unborn child by sucking fetal parts into a collection container; or (ii) The use of instruments or suction to remove the remains of an unborn child who has already died.”

What’s interesting, however, is that the bill that was signed into law refers to the victim as an “unborn child” rather than “fetus,” — the term pro-choicers use to try to remove personhood from the victim.

IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR AMENDS SYLLABUS AFTER INITIALLY BANNING ARGUMENTS AGAINST HOMOSEXUALITY & ABORTION

ISU Professor Chloe Clark

AMES, Iowa — An English professor at Iowa State University, who had initially included a “giant warning” in her syllabus that students were not permitted to speak or submit classwork presenting “arguments against gay marriage, abortion, Black Lives Matter, etc.,” has now amended her course description after university officials found her restrictions to be “inconsistent” with the school’s commitment to upholding students’ First Amendment rights.

According to The College Fix, Chloe Clark issued a “giant warning” — written in all capital letters — as a note under the course objective of her English 250 class.

“This class will include many discussions about [presenting arguments] and, thus, participation will be a large factor in the class,” the webpage for the class outlined. “Any instances of othering that you participate in intentionally (racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, sorophobia, transphobia, classism, mocking of mental health issues, body shaming, etc) in class are grounds for dismissal from the classroom.”

It added, “The same goes for any papers/projects: You cannot choose any topic that takes at its base that one side doesn’t deserve the same basic human rights as you do. I take this seriously.”

After the matter made headlines, the university reportedly addressed Clark about the matter as they believe students should have the right to express all viewpoints, as the U.S. Constitution grants freedom of speech.

“The syllabus statement as written was inconsistent with the university’s standards and its commitment to the First Amendment rights of students,” Iowa State officials said in a statement issued to reporters on Monday.

They advised that the syllabus has now been “corrected to ensure it is consistent with university policy” and Clark “is being provided additional information regarding the First Amendment policies of the university.”

“Iowa State is firmly committed to protecting the First Amendment rights of its students, faculty, and staff,” the statement said. “With respect to student expression in the classroom, including the completion of assignments, the university does not take disciplinary action against students based on the content or viewpoints expressed in their speech.”

As previously reported, in 2013, a professor at Florida Atlantic University came under scrutiny after he had Intercultural Communications students write the name “Jesus” in all capital letters on a piece of paper and then stomp on it. The exercise was obtained from an instruction manual and was meant to demonstrate the “emotional meaning” behind various symbols as some students will decline to do so.

“This exercise is a bit sensitive, but really drives home the point that even though symbols are arbitrary, they take on very strong and emotional meanings,” the manual stated. “Have the students write the name JESUS in big letters on a piece of paper. Ask the students to stand up and put the paper on the floor in front of them with the name facing up. Ask the students to think about it for a moment.”

“After a brief period of silence, instruct them to step on the paper,” it continued. “Most will hesitate. Ask why they can’t step on the paper. Discuss the importance of symbols in culture.”

The professor, Deandre Poole, the vice-chairman of the Palm Beach Democratic Party, was put on leave for a time due to security reasons and later reinstated. It was vowed that the exercise would never be performed again.

Kamala’s Threat to American Democracy

Who, exactly, is a vice-president supposed to be?

The arrival of Joe Biden’s decision on a running mate is a true turning point in the history of American politics.

There has never before been a presidential candidate who, prior to entering the White House, has shown such undeniable signs of age-related neurological decay. All political disagreements disregarded, the sight of an elderly person succumbing to the demons of those dreaded cognitive ailments -- which all too often rob us of the older people we love -- is truly excruciating to behold.

The political outcome of Biden's mental state is, if possible, even more unsettling. The role of the president is meant to be powerful. All constitutional checks and balances considered, the sheer power of the chief executive, in that one single person invested with authority to counter-balance the power of the legislative and judicial branches, is truly awesome.

In our situation today, we see a man who is clearly not in full command of his mental faculties, who is allowing himself to be considered for that office of chief executive; an office which, unlike a prime minister in a parliamentary system, is intended to be stable and not prone to regular changes in leadership.

The expectation of a normal four-year presidential tenure on Biden’s part if he is elected must, at the very least, be subjected to serious doubt. If pronouncing basic words -- let alone quoting the most famous phrase of our Declaration of Independence -- is such a confusing  ordeal for him, then it is our urgent duty to question whether this individual is fit to be the man who must accept the ultimate responsibility for this country’s national security and well-being.

These facts squarely cast the Democrat side of the current election as not a presidential election at all, but a vice-presidential election.

Should Biden win, the chances are very probable that his vice president will become the 47th president to finish out his first four-year term. As the vice president automatically succeeds to the Oval Office if the president dies or is rendered permanently incapacitated, the profoundly anti-democratic repercussions of this situation is worsened by whom Biden has actually chosen.

The traditional custom for presidential hopefuls is to either choose the second-highest-polling candidate in a primary race, as Ronald Reagan did with George H. W. Bush in 1980, or to choose a highly capable politician who is well-respected by most of the party, as Donald Trump did with Governor Mike Pence in 2016. In both of those cases, the aforementioned running mates reflected the Republican Party and its voters quite respectably while promoting unity.

It is highly questionable, meanwhile, whether Kamala Harris -- aside from all of the establishment media’s expected giddy cheerleading -- really represents her party all that well. She was polling at 2% nationally by the time she ended her own presidential bid on December 3, 2019. Her more radical positions, such as support for the Obama administration’s Iran deal, prosecuting a journalist who exposed Planned Parenthood’s collection and sale of aborted babies’ body parts (while receiving campaign donations from them), and defending Ilhan Omar’s anti-Semitism, may indeed sit well with a great many leftists, but her actions as Attorney General of California may not. While in that position, Harris jailed hundreds on marijuana charges and authorized anti-prostitution sting operations which, according to SF Weekly, disproportionately targeted Latino men (a crucial Democrat demographic). In addition to this -- though she later admitted it was a mistake -- she prosecuted and jailed the parents of truant teens. She even refused to release the names of Catholic priests accused of sexually molesting children, abnegating law enforcement’s most basic and humane duty -- regardless of anyone’s opinion of the Catholic Church.

it is highly debatable if these are positions that a high number of progressives who voted for the Democrat primary runner-up, Bernie Sanders, would approve of. Especially today, being tough on minority and drug crime -- to the exclusion of “white patriarchal” clergy sex abuse -- is not en vogue among the Democratic Party’s truly energized base, which is largely college-educated millennials taught to have contempt for not only aggressive inner city policing, but inner city policing overall.

It also remains a question as to how many black American voters Kamala really represents. Without doubt, she completely failed to gain these voters' support during the primary. Many black Americans responded to Barack and Michelle Obama due to their image as people who empathized authentically with the black experience of living in inner city America. Harris’s flip-flopping on criminal justice issues has clearly deprived her of the Obama touch.

What should highly concern all Americans of whatever political persuasion is the fact that, given Joe Biden’s medical condition, a Democrat victory in 2020 could very likely result in a person for whom only 2% of Democrats and Democrat-leaning Independents supported to become president.

The reasons for Biden’s choice of Kamala Harris as his running mate are as yet not entirely clear. What is very clear, however, is that a new president of the United States in the near future could be a person whom a weak and faltering man chose by fiat, and not someone whom the majority of the country elected by the ballot.

That's a problem.

It's a problem for America -- and it's a serious and profound problem for American democracy.

SOUTHERN BAPTIST LEADER LIKES POST ENDORSING PRO-ABORTION, PRO-TRANSGENDER BIDEN/HARRIS TICKET

Ron Burns — better known by his Islamic Black Nationalist name — Thabiti Anyabwile, is a Southern Baptist pastor and an author at Mark Dever’s 9Marks ministry as well as The Gospel Coalition. Anyabwile recently denounced his faith in favor of “black solidarity” because he, like all people who have succumbed to the temptation of self-preservation served up by the vain philosophies of social justice, decided he would be safer that way.

Anyabwile recently garnered the applause of Evangelical leaders who like to pretend they’re apolitical when, in fact, they are leftists whose sole purpose in life is to guilt conservatives into abstaining from voting conservatively when he tweeted out that being “politically homeless” is “one of the best things” that could happen to Christians.

Of course, this notion is absurd on the face of it and is, once again, nothing more than an attempt to move conservatives away from conservative politics and embrace the social justice movement of the left. What Anyabwile means by “politically homeless” does not mean that one should be untied from a particular political party. What he means by this is that one should not embrace the ideas of either of the major political parties and, instead, treat both political parties as equally aberrant and embrace some form of “third way.” The only problem is, this “third way” that they seek to embrace is nothing more than repackaged Democrat politics with a new name.

Look no further than the And Campaign to see what we mean. This third way embraces “choice” in abortion with, instead of the government limiting the evil of abortion, it financially subsidizes fornication. This third way embraces open-borders and illegal immigration and amnesty. It embraces wealth-redistribution, welfare, and free healthcare. And proponents of the third way don’t want to be called Democrats, so they, instead, call themselves “politically homeless” and sob and lament as they embrace the political candidate that most closely identifies with their beliefs — Democrats.

And that’s exactly what Anyabwile is doing. Anyabwile, who once endorsed Bernie Sanders as the “best” candidate for black Americans has now embraced the most pro-abortion, pro-LGBTQ Democrat ticket in all of American history.

This really shouldn’t surprise anyone, however, as Anyabwile has consistently pushed for Democrat policies such as reparations, doing away with the Second Amendment, and has hijacked the pro-life movement to now include social justice and welfare for people based on their skin color. He has endorsed marching with violent anarchist groups to oppose law enforcement and has partnered with Obama staffers to do so, himself.

NEW YORK Planned Parenthood of Greater New York (PPGNY) has announced that it will remove founder Margaret Sanger’s name from its Manhattan facility bearing her namesake, and is also working with city council to rename Margaret Sanger Square, due to her “harmful connections to the eugenics movement.”

The organization says that “the announcement reflects the first of many organizational shifts to address Sanger’s legacy and system of institutional racism, which negatively impacts the well-being of patients, staff and PPGNY’s broader communities.”

“The removal of Margaret Sanger’s name from our building is both a necessary and overdue step to reckon with our legacy and acknowledge Planned Parenthood’s contributions to historical reproductive harm within communities of color,” Karen Seltzer, board chair of PPGNY, said in a statement.

“Margaret Sanger’s concerns and advocacy for reproductive health have been clearly documented, but so too has her racist legacy,” she said. “There is overwhelming evidence for Sanger’s deep belief in eugenic ideology, which runs completely counter to our values at PPGNY. Removing her name is an important step toward representing who we are as an organization and who we serve.”

The abortion facility on Bleecker Street had heretofore been named the Margaret Sanger Health Center, and a street sign currently marks the intersection of Bleecker and Mott Streets in recognizing Sanger.

However, the organization did not disavow the practice of abortion and will continue to offer its services to end the lives of the unborn. According to the Charlotte Lozier Institute, 53,394 abortions were performed in New York City alone in 2017.

As previously reported, Sanger founded Planned Parenthood in New York in 1921, which was originally known as the American Birth Control League. She later changed the name as some found it offensive.

Sanger generally opposed abortion, writing in her 1920 book “Woman and the New Race” that “the hundreds of thousands of abortions performed in America each year are a disgrace to civilization.”

Her solution to countering abortion was birth control, as she believed that “[t]he most immoral practice of the day is breeding too many children.” She claimed that children get lost in large families and end up in jail or as prostitutes.

Sanger was also a proponent of eugenics against the physically and mentally disabled, as she made a correlation between birth control and the purification of the human race. She additionally called for the sterilization of women in the “moron class,” referring to those with disabilities as being “morons,” “idiots” and “imbeciles.”

“Back then they used words like ‘moron’ and ‘imbecile,’ these were actually scientific terms, and classifying people according to their IQ. And she said women in these classes were not capable of being mothers, and therefore shouldn’t be mothers,” her grandson, Alex Sanger, told Vox in 2016, explaining that he disagreed with her position but otherwise admired Sanger. “She also talked about women with certain inherited diseases like epilepsy or alcoholism — they shouldn’t be mothers, because they’re going to pass these genes onto their children.”

“Birth control itself, often denounced as a violation of natural law, is nothing more or less than the facilitation of the process of weeding out the unfit, of preventing the birth of defectives or of those who will become defectives,” Sanger wrote in the aforementioned “Woman and the New Race”. “If we are to make racial progress, this development of womanhood must precede motherhood in every individual woman.”

Sanger launched the Negro Project in 1939, offering birth control in African American communities — especially in the South, where there was significant poverty yet multiple children in a household. She thought that cutting down on the number of children born would better the economic status of a region and consequently the quality of life for society as a whole.

According to New York University, Sanger’s secretary, Florence Rose, wrote a report on “Birth Control and the Negro”, in which she opined that “negroes present the great problem of the South,” because they have “the greatest economic, health and social problems” yet “still breed carelessly and disastrously.”

“‘Constructive’ eugenics aims to arouse the enthusiasm or the interest of the people in the welfare of the world fifteen or twenty generations in the future. On its negative side it shows us that we are paying for and even submitting to the dictates of an ever increasing, unceasingly spawning class of human beings who never should have been born at all — that the wealth of individuals and of states is being diverted from the development and the progress of human expression and civilization,” Sanger also remarked in the 1922 publication “The Pivot of Civilization”.

“Birth control which has been criticized as negative and destructive, is really the greatest and most truly eugenic method, and its adoption as part of the program of eugenics would immediately give a concrete and realistic power to that science,” she continued. “As a matter of fact, birth control has been accepted by the most clear thinking and far seeing of the eugenists themselves as the most constructive and necessary of the means to racial health.”

2 Corinthians 5:15 states that Christ “died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him which died for them and rose again.”

Jill Biden, "Joey: The Story of Joe Biden" with Ashley Biden

BY DEBORAH DEGROFF

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational & research purposes:

I have to scratch my head when I read some of the books published for young audiences. Joey: The Story of Joe Biden, by his wife, Jill, was just released June 30, 2020. The target audience is children from four to eight. Picture reading the following excerpt to your own precious four-year-old:

"Always eager to prove he had guts, he never refused a dare, even when it was dangerous. He climbed atop a mountain of still-burning coal . . . He raced along the pipes high above a river. Once he grabbed a heavy rope and swung over a construction site, imitating Tarzan—without a net."

How many parents want their children to prove they are gutsy by taking "even dangerous dares?"

Responding to a dare doesn’t always turn out so well. Teenagers have been influenced by a stunt from the movie, “The Program.” They lay in the middle of busy highways “apparently to prove they had nerves of steel.”

A young rugby player ate a slug on a ‘mate’s’ dare. Now he’s dead.

An 8-year-old Florida girl died more than four months after she was injured while drinking boiling water through a straw on a dare.

A 19-year-old Mississippi man died on Saturday on Instagram Live, after accepting a dare from a group of his friends.

Certainly, the news media only reports on dares taken that do not end well. Mrs. Biden was just trying to make her husband relatable to the children, and did not consider the potential outcome of those words and the associated illustration. I would have thought that a children's book editor might have brought this to her attention.

Jill Biden was interviewed by The View about her new book about her husband’s childhood. She tells about how Joe stuttered as a child:

He had to fight bullies because he was bullied because he was a stutterer…

I want them to know that … Joe will be a strong and steady leader. I use the phrase, “Give me the ball” … I couldn't know when I started writing the book in the fall how really ironic it is that now… Joe is saying to Americans, “Give me the ball,” … let me shoulder it, because so many people are suffering from so much and I think that you know it's Joe’s steady leadership that I think people are really hungry for, and I think every president is known for something special about their presidency. … I think Joe will be known for being an empathetic leader because of all he's been through and because of the tragedies in his life-- because he did stutter, because his father did lose his job, because he did work at the only all-black pool in the city and saw what people of color went through, and so I think that empathy is gonna be Joe's greatest strength.

This book will be read by adults to the children in this age range who cannot yet read. These children from four to eight cannot vote, but perhaps this message about “empathetic Joe who will carry the ball” will not be lost on the adult readers who can cast a ballot.

Another selection for the four- to eight-year-old market is Mayor Pete: The Story of Pete Buttigieg (Who Did It First?) This book, by Rob Sanders, will be released July 21, 2020. The Amazon description reads:

When Pete Buttigieg announced he was running for president, he became the first openly gay candidate to run for the Democratic party’s presidential nomination and the first millennial ever to pursue the office…the young boy from South Bend grew into a man devoted to helping others. Mayor Pete: The Story of Pete Buttigieg celebrates the life of an American who dared to be the first and who imagined a better world for everyone.

Mayor Pete is no longer in the presidential race, but at least the youngsters will know that Buttigieg was the first candidate married to a partner of the same gender.

The People of Pride series is for children from ages two to five. These 22-page board books feature Ellen DeGeneres (March 24,2020), and Harvey Milk (May 19, 2020). The third book in the series, about RuPaul Charles, is due to be released September 1st of 2020.

In this beautifully illustrated board book series, parents can celebrate the accomplishments of LGBTQ heroes, and introduce their little ones to the trailblazers who have shaped our world.

The Joey and Mayor Pete books were intended for children four to eight, and the People of Pride board books for children from two to five. What about books for the even younger set?

No! My First Book of Protest board book, by Julie Merberg, is for babies 3 months to 3 years. It’s obviously vital for infants to learn about Gloria Steinham and Greta Thunberg before experiencing table food.

NYC: PLANNED PARENTHOOD CLINIC REMOVES FOUNDER MARGARET SANGER’S NAME OVER “RACIST LEGACY”, SUPPORT OF EUGENICS

‘There is overwhelming evidence for Sanger’s deep belief in eugenic ideology,’ says clinic’s board chair

Planned Parenthood of Greater New York

Dear Friend,

As a valued member of our community, we want to let you know that we are removing Margaret Sanger’s name from our Manhattan Health Center today.

The removal of Margaret Sanger’s name from our building is both a necessary and overdue step to reckon with our legacy and acknowledge Planned Parenthood’s contributions to historical reproductive harm within communities of color (learn more about Margaret Sanger’s legacy).

This is an important step, but only the beginning of the work we need to do to address our past and work toward becoming an anti-racist organization. The is part of PPGNY’s Reviving Radical initiative - an initial three-year commitment and framework for holding long overdue dialogues and uplifting a vision for repair and transformation that communities of color and reproductive justice leaders have been calling on for decades. Learn about PPGNY’s Reviving Radical initiative.

The work leading up to this moment at PPGNY is decades in the making and led by staff who are guided by women of color’s scholarship, advocacy and wisdom that shape our understanding of Sanger today and the need to broaden the framework of reproductive rights and access to include justice. We acknowledge staff and supporters that advocated over the years whose names and contributions are lost to time.

Here are the Reviving Radical Community Mandates put forth by those in attendance and that we are committing to as an organization:

  1. Reckon with Planned Parenthood’s legacy and contributions to historical reproductive harm of communities of color

  2. Divest from and dismantle white dominant organizational cultural norms and values

  3. Adopt Individual and Institutional practices that value people of color

  4. Center the voices, experiences and knowledge of self of communities of color

  5. Build accountable relationships with communities of color

As of today, the health center is called the Manhattan Health Center. We are also starting conversations with the City Council, the Community Board, and the local community to rename an honorary street sign that marks the “Margaret Sanger Square” at the intersection of Bleecker and Mott Streets in Manhattan.

In community,

The PPGNY Board of Directors

Planned Parenthood Clinic Removes Founder Margaret Sanger’s Name Over ‘Racist Legacy,’ Support of Eugenics

A Planned Parenthood clinic in downtown New York is reckoning with the “racist legacy” of its founder Margaret Sanger, admitting her work in eugenics has had a negative impact on the reproduction of people of color.

The Planned Parenthood Clinic of Greater New York in Manhattan announced Tuesday it will remove Sanger’s name from its title, the Manhattan Health Center, and says it’s also working with the city to remove her name from an honorary street sign near the clinic.

Credit: Google Maps
The clinic’s board chair explained the move comes after re-examining how Sanger’s work in the field of eugenics affected communities of color.

“The removal of Margaret Sanger’s name from our building is both a necessary and overdue step to reckon with our legacy and acknowledge Planned Parenthood’s contributions to historical reproductive harm within communities of color,” said PPGNY board chair Karen Seltzer.

“Margaret Sanger’s concerns and advocacy for reproductive health have been clearly documented, but so too has her racist legacy. There is overwhelming evidence for Sanger’s deep belief in eugenic ideology, which runs completely counter to our values at PPGNY. Removing her name is an important step toward representing who we are as an organization and who we serve.”

While Seltzer gave no examples of Sanger’s “racist legacy” or her “eugenic ideology,” one need only look to her own writings to see how she wanted to exterminate much of humanity through population control, getting rid of so-called “undesirables” who would be sterilized, segregated or forced onto birth control.

“Eugenics” is defined by Merriam-Webster as “the practice or advocacy of controlled selective breeding of human populations (as by sterilization) to improve the population’s genetic composition.”

In a 1919 letter titled, “Birth Control and Racial Betterment,” Sanger wrote how selective breeding could “assist the race toward the elimination of the unfit.”

In an essay from 1921, titled, “The Eugenic Value of Birth Control,” Sanger discussed how eugenics can solve “racial” problems.

“Today eugenics is suggested by the most diverse minds as the most adequate and thorough avenue in the solution of racial, political and social problems.”

As noted in Alex Jones’ 2007 documentary, “Endgame: Blueprint for Global Enslavement,” Sanger also recommended in a letter to fellow eugenicist Clarence J. Gamble discussing the “Negro Project” that hiring a “negro physician” could be helpful in convincing “colored negroes” in the South about the value of eugenics.

“We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members,” Sanger wrote.

While this one clinic is recognizing its founder’s evil past, the time is quickly approaching when the entire Planned Parenthood organization, built on Sanger’s work as a eugenicist, will have to answer for her – as the leftist cancel culture comes back home to roost.

SOUTHERN BAPTISTS CALL FOR REPLACING CONFEDERATE STATUE WITH PRO-ABORTION POLITICIAN IN U.S. CAPITOL

WILLIAM THORNTON, SBC VOICES:

SEE: https://reformationcharlotte.org/2020/07/20/southern-baptists-call-for-replacing-confederate-statue-with-pro-abortion-politician-in-us-capitol/;

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational & research purposes:

While we’re in the midst of a culture war in America right now — as leftists and Communists join hands to sing Kumbaya as the history of this great country is burned to the ground before our very eyes — we would expect the Church to stand as a rational witness to the testimony of Christ in the face of it all.

Let’s be real, the world hates the Church. They hate the Church so bad that they’ve actually co-opted it with leftists to turn her into a God-hating, gospel-denying social justice activism machine — and for many, it has worked.

The Southern Baptist Convention, the nation’s largest Protestant denomination, is now virtually indistinguishable from the radical left on issues of culture. The Southern Baptist president has called on Christians to stand up for LGBTQ rights and his church marched with militant, pro-LGBTQ, anti-Christian anarchists to protest the government and police. This all happens as the gospel has been largely replaced with leftist social activism.

Now, a group of Southern Baptist bloggers who are popular in elite circles — though not all that widely read — are calling on the state of Georgia to replace a statue of Alexander Hamilton Stephens, Vice President of the Confederacy, with a pro-abortion leftist politician.

“Stephens was the Vice President of the Confederacy and a virulent racist,” William Thornton writes at SBC Voices, “his statue wasn’t chosen almost a century ago by the Georgia legislature for placement in Statuary Hall for his being a progressive slave owner. He’s there because he was VP of the Confederacy and an unashamed racist.”

Besides the fact that the claim is absurd on the face of it, granted that Stephens was what Thornton says he was, his solution is to replace him with someone far worse.

“So, Georgia legislature, take a vote. Replace Stephen’s statue with that of the authentic Civil Rights hero, John Lewis who just died.”

“I’ve always liked Lewis even though his politics were such that I wouldn’t have voted for him in a thousand years,” Thornton writes, “I know of no ethical failures that attach to him.”

Really? Here’s what the National Abortion Federation writes about Lewis and his leftist politics:

“Representative John Lewis was a hero: a man of courage, conviction, and wisdom; an unrelenting champion of civil rights, racial justice, women’s rights, and abortion rights; an exemplar who never gave up hope for a more just country that would be a positive force for a better world.”

You see, these Southern Baptist men don’t view leftist politics such as abortion, feminism, and gay rights as a matter of ethics. To them, only “white supremacists” like Donald Trump and Alexander Stephens are capable of “ethical failures” because they don’t advance the politics of the left. The notion that Stephens’ statue should be replaced by Lewis’ is absolutely stupid. It’s absurd and doesn’t even deserve the rebuke it’s getting in this article. But, sadly, idiotic ideas have consequences, and if history says anything, it’s that dumb ideas like this gain traction really quickly — especially in this climate.

TRUMP HHS ENDS OBAMACARE RULE THAT INCLUDED ABORTION UNDER “HEALTHCARE”

BY WARREN MASS

SEE: https://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/health-care/item/36371-trump-hhs-ends-obamacare-rule-that-included-abortion-under-healthcare;

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational & research purposes:

The Trump administration’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has issued a statement about ending a definition issued by the Obama administration regarding Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA or “ObamaCare”). The Obama administration had redefined sex discrimination to include termination of pregnancy (abortion) and gender identity, which it defined as “one’s internal sense of gender, which may be male, female, neither, or a combination of male and female.”

Under the revised HHS rules, abortion and “gender identity” will no longer be protected under anti-discrimination laws. Though the Obama-era rules have not been put into practice since the last day of 2016, they were still on the books. With the latest HHS ruling, they are now erased.

The Obama administration rules, issued in 2016, could have forced medical workers to help abort unborn babies. It also would have protected so-called transgender individuals from sex discrimination based on their “identify” rather than the traditional biological definition of gender as determined at birth.

Roger Severino, director of the Office for Civil Rights at HHS, has reassured the public that the changes will not affect the agency’s protections: “HHS respects the dignity of every human being, and as we have shown in our response to the pandemic, we vigorously protect and enforce the civil rights of all to the fullest extent permitted by our laws as passed by Congress. We are unwavering in our commitment to enforcing civil rights in healthcare.”

The Obama administration, however, decided to add its own definitions to certain federal statutes, such as Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) stating that it wanted to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex in certain federally funded programs.

However, noted the HHS release, on December 31, 2016, a federal court enjoined the Obama administration’s attempt to redefine sex discrimination in its 2016 rule. The court concluded that the administration’s provisions were likely contrary to applicable civil rights law, the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, and the Administrative Procedure Act. On October 15, 2019, the federal court issued a final judgment, and vacated and remanded these provisions as unlawful.

HHS noted that this final ruling is binding on HHS, which has not been able to enforce these provisions since December 2016, and the provisions have been vacated since October 2019.

Therefore, HHS has eliminated certain provisions of the 2016 Rule that exceeded the scope of the authority delegated by Congress in Section 1557. HHS will enforce Section 1557 by returning to the government’s interpretation of sex discrimination according to the plain meaning of the word “sex” as male or female and as determined by biology. The 2016 Rule declined to recognize “sexual orientation” as a protected category under the ACA, and HHS will abide by that judgment.

FLORIDA: PRO-ABORTION GROUP CREATES WEBSITE TO HELP MINORS CIRCUMVENT PARENTAL CONSENT LAW

Abortion proponents are working hard to circumvent a new Florida law that requires parental consent before underage girls obtain abortions. Pro-abortion group Floridians for Reproductive Freedom, an affiliate of Progress Florida, has recently published a new website that helps young girls get secret abortions without parental knowledge.

Under the newly signed Florida law, minors are unable to have abortions unless the physician has received a notarized written consent statement containing specific language signed by the minor’s parent or legal guardian with proof of identification.

“The serious and irrevocable decision to end a pregnancy involves undergoing a significant medical procedure that results, in many cases, in lifelong emotional and physical impacts,” said Florida Senate President Bill Galvano (R-Bradenton). “The parents of a minor child considering an abortion must be involved in such a substantial and permanent decision.

The law makes exceptions only for those minors who are unable to obtain consent, specifically those who are in abusive homes and those for whom parental consent is not in their best interest. Those minors are able to utilize the judicial waiver process, and it is that process that Floridians for Reproductive Freedom will be using to help minors circumvent the law.

The group admits on its new website that it intends to help minors obtain abortions, even in instances where it would not endanger their safety to obtain parental consent: “Most young people talk to their parents when they need an abortion — but some can’t, for their own safety; and others simply don’t want to disappoint their parents. If you can’t get your parent’s permission or are unable to ask your parents, you can get an abortion with no parent involved if you go to court and are granted a ‘judicial bypass.’”

State Senator Kelli Stargel (R-Lakeland) who sponsored the law, said she hopes her law will give minors the opportunity to engage their parents in their decision because they may be surprised by how their parents react.

“I think this is strengthening the family and making sure that when you have those difficult situations that there is a conversation. A discussion,” she continued.

Stargel said she was once a pregnant teenage girl who was afraid to talk to her parents, but when she did, she found they were far more supportive than she ever could have expected.

“When I told [my mother] I wanted to have my child, she supported me,” Stargel said. “Everyone thinks that their parent is going to kill them or kick them out. I was shocked at my mother’s response as a child when I went through this.”

Progress Florida contends the judicial waiver requirement forces teenagers to go through a court process that may be “intimidating” for them, the group’s spokesperson Amy Weintraub said.

“It requires multiple visits to your local courthouse. It means you have to interface with attorneys, court clerks, judges. That’s not something most Florida teenagers are used to or would want to try out,” she added.

But if minors find the court process intimidating and difficult to navigate on their own, how does Weintraub suppose they would find the abortion process and all of the physical, mental, and emotional components of it?

Mat Staver, chairman of the pro-life, pro-family group Liberty Counsel, said Florida’s law offers vital protections for minors.

“Parental consent laws help prevent young girls from making a hasty, uninformed decision to abort their unborn babies,” he added. “There is no such thing as a safe abortion, and these laws help protect the lives of girls and unborn children.”

As observed by Life News, parental consent laws actually protect young women, despite the dogma from the pro-abortion lobby. Life News writes,

They help young victims of sexual abuse who may be forced or coerced into an abortion by their abuser. The laws also help protect vulnerable teens from making a hasty, uninformed decision to abort their unborn babies — something they may later regret. Research shows that these laws help save unborn babies from abortions.

Florida is among dozens of states that require some sort of parental involvement in abortions for minors. And despite opposition to such laws from the abortion lobby, they have significant support among voters. In a poll conducted by Florida Politics earlier this year, 63 percent of Floridians approved of the measure requiring parental approval. According to a 2011 Gallup poll, 71 percent of respondents favored parental-consent laws for minors.

The Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops lauded the legislation as a “commonsense measure” that “simply holds abortion to the same consent requirements as most every other medical decision involving a child, including simple interventions such as taking an aspirin or getting ears pierced.”

In addition to the parental-consent requirement, Florida’s new law increases the penalty for any healthcare practitioner who violates a current law that requires them to preserve the life of a baby born alive during a botched abortion from a first-degree misdemeanor to a third-degree felony, WFLA reports.

“This law sends a clear message that here in Florida, we will do everything we can to prevent the abomination of infanticide in our state. When a child miraculously survives this brutal medical procedure, that child’s life must be preserved and treated with great respect and care. The penalty for refusing to provide medical care to an infant struggling for life should be significant,” said President Galvano.

U.S. SUPREME COURT LETS LAWS CREATING BUFFER ZONES AROUND CHICAGO, HARRISBURG ABORTION FACILITIES STAND

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Supreme Court declined on Thursday to take up challenges to rulings upholding laws in Chicago, Illinois and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania that create buffer zones around abortion facilities. The laws require those who wish to reach abortion-minded mothers to stand back at a certain distance away from the entrance to the facility, making it harder to communicate with those intent on having their unborn child murdered.

While the denial for certiorari was without explanation, the court did note that Justice Clarence Thomas was in favor of hearing the cases.

The appeals for consideration were Price v. City of Chicago and Reilly v. City of Harrisburg. Read the appeal briefs here and here.

The 2009 Chicago ordinance classifies a person who “knowingly approaches another person within eight feet of such person, unless such other person consents, for the purpose of passing a leaflet or handbill to, displaying a sign to, or engaging in oral protest, education, or counseling with such other person in the public way within a radius of 50 feet from any entrance door to a hospital, medical clinic or healthcare facility” guilty of disorderly conduct.

The 2012 Harrisburg statute states that “[n]o person or persons shall knowingly congregate, patrol, picket or demonstrate in a zone extending 20 feet from any portion of an entrance to, exit from, or driveway of a health care facility.”

Sidewalk counselors outside of facilities in these cites, who engage in leafleting and one-on-one conversation with abortion-minded women, considered the rules a violation of their First Amendment rights to speak, assemble and exercise their religion. They note that the laws make it difficult for them to effectively communicate since they must stand so far away.

The Chicago and Harrisburg ordinances were challenged in 2016, but the courts upheld both statutes. Their attorneys, the Thomas More Society and Liberty Counsel, respectively, were hoping that the U.S. Supreme Court would take the cases as provide clarity to the issue in light of past legal precedent.

“With its ‘bubble zone’ law, the City of Chicago is doing women a great disservice by denying them access to information at a critical time in their lives,” Senior Counsel Thomas Olp with the Thomas More Society said in an interview posted to the organization’s website.

“Additionally, this law is vague and over-broad and does not serve any legitimate interest of the city. Chicago has never had an issue with obstruction of access to abortion facilities,” he stated. “The abortion lobby wants people to believe that pro-life advocates who witness outside abortion clinics are aggressive and threatening. That’s just not true.”

As previously reported, the Supreme Court did rule on another abortion case this week, as Justice John Roberts sided with his liberal colleagues on Monday to strike down a Louisiana law requiring abortionists to obtain admitting privileges at a local hospital in the event that a mother is injured in the process of having her unborn baby killed.

Roberts, nominated to the court by then-President George W. Bush, opined that the rule “imposes an undue burden on access to abortion.”

MISSISSIPPI GOVERNOR SIGNS LAW ALLOWING ABORTION AS LONG AS NOT BASED ON RACE, SEX OR GENETIC ABNORMALITY

JACKSON, Miss. — Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves has signed into law a bill that prohibits abortion on the basis of sex, race or genetic abnormalities but does not outlaw abortion in other circumstances, such as simply not wanting the child or not being able to afford him or her. The legislation also exempts the abortive mother from punishment should the murder be committed for one of those reasons, while the abortionist will face up to 10 years in prison.

“Abortion may not be performed because of race, sex, or genetic abnormality except in a medical emergency,” House Bill 1295, also known as the Life Equality Act, reads.

“[A] person shall not perform, induce or attempt to perform or induce an abortion unless the physician who is to perform or induce the abortion has first confirmed that the abortion is not being sought because of the race or sex of the unborn human being or because of the presence or presumed presence of a genetic abnormality and documented these facts in the maternal patient’s chart, as well as in the report to be filed with the Department [of Health],” it outlines.

The abortionist must complete paperwork with each abortion, detailing the date of the procedure, the method used to kill the unborn child, whether the race, sex or any abnormalities had been detected at the time of the act, as well as a statement affirming that the abortion was not performed for one of those three reasons.

Those who knowingly violate the law may be imprisoned for up to 10 years, with a minimum sentence of a year behind bars.

However, “[a] woman upon whom an abortion is performed, induced, or attempted in violation … of this act shall not be prosecuted for conspiracy to commit any violation of … this act,” the bill expressly states.

The legislation, written by Rep. Carolyn Crawford, R-Pass Christian, says that the measure is necessary as federal civil rights law prohibits discrimination on certain characteristics, and yet “unborn human beings are often discriminated against and deprived of life.”

It contends that sex selection abortions, which are most commonly against girls, are committed in the United States, and “[a]bortions predicated on the presence or presumed presence of genetic abnormalities continue to occur despite the increasingly favorable post-natal outcomes for human beings perceived as handicapped or disabled.”

“Therefore, it is the intent of the Mississippi legislature, through this act and any regulations and policies promulgated hereunder, to prohibit the practice of nontherapeutic or elective abortion for the purpose of terminating the life of an unborn human being because of that human being’s race, sex, or the presence or presumed presence of a genetic abnormality,” the bill states.

The Mississippi House of Representatives passed the bill 91-25 on June 23 after clearing the Senate days earlier 33-11.

Read the Life Equality Act in full here.

Pro-life groups cheered the signing of the bill because it would prevent children, such as those with Down syndrome, from being aborted.

“Starting now, unborn babies in Mississippi cannot be targeted for abortion based on their sex, race, or potential disability, such as Down syndrome,” said Susan B. Anthony List State Policy Director Sue Liebel said in a statement. “Such lethal discrimination, whether inside or outside the womb, should be unacceptable anywhere in society.”

There is one abortion facility in Mississippi: Jackson Women’s Health Organization in the state capital. It offers abortions up to 16 weeks, or four months, gestation.

Owner Diane Derzis has claimed that she believes God wants her to run the abortion facility. She was featured on ABC’s “Nightline” in 2013 as she claimed to reporters that God was on her side in the abortion business.

“I know as fervently as they do that what I’m doing is moral and right,” she stated. “But if I’m wrong, that’s between the Lord and I.”

Proverbs 6:16-17 says that the Lord hates “hands that shed innocent blood.”

“When killing anyone, the murderer is guilty of taking the life which God has given, and therefore he is ‘playing God’ by saying when and how a man should die. But God doesn’t look lightly upon those who try to take His place,” explained preacher Lee Roy Shelton in “The Crimes of Our Times”.

“God has given us the Sixth Commandment as a fence about human life to preserve it, for it is sacred to Him,” he said. “Yes, the Bible declares human life to be sacred. It is a divine creation, mysterious and magnificent in its beginning and possibility, utterly beyond the control or comprehension of any human being. It is never to be taken away at the will of anyone, for how can they tell the full meaning of that life and what it will bring forth?”

“The revelation of God made to man out of His blessed Word proves that He has purposes for every individual and for the [human] race, stretching far beyond the present moment or manifestation; and to terminate a single life is to set yourselves up as wiser and superior to God. The immensity of the issues of death is so great that there can be no sin against humanity, and accordingly, against God, greater than that of taking a human life.”

PLANNED PARENTHOOD PARTNER: SOME ABORTED BABIES ARE INTACT BEFORE BEING DISSECTED; SOME HEARTS ARE “BEATING INDEPENDENTLY”

BY HEATHER CLARK

SEE: https://christiannews.net/2020/07/01/planned-parenthood-partner-some-aborted-babies-are-intact-before-dissected-some-hearts-are-beating-independently/;

In a new video released by the same organization that conducted an undercover investigation into Planned Parenthood’s sale of aborted baby parts, the procurement manager for Advanced Bioscience Resources (ABR), which services Planned Parenthood locations in southern California, acknowledged under oath that about every couple of months, an aborted baby “falls out” of his or her mother intact and she is presented with a whole child to dissect. Sometimes, she said, she can see hearts “beating independently” from babies who are not extracted intact.

The Center for Medical Progress (CMP), led by David Daleiden, released the footage on Tuesday after a court unsealed recorded testimony and documents that came out of a lawsuit that Planned Parenthood had filed against the pro-life activist.

The video shows ABR’s Perrin Larton being questioned by an attorney under a deposition, being shown footage from the undercover investigation conducted by Daleiden in which she had stated that sometimes the baby just “falls out” during an abortion, especially if the mother has had a number of children already.

The attorney asked Larton how that child then comes to her, as she would perform the procurement of the infant’s bodily “tissues” needed for resale to researchers.

“Is the entire fetus intact in the lab when the procurement technician enters the lab?” he inquired.

“Yes,” Larton responded.

“How does a tissue procurement occur in one of these situations when the entire fetus in intact in the lab?” he asked.

“We do a dissection,” Larton answered.

The attorney then asked if the dissection is to obtain the “tissues” that are on the list of those requested by researchers. Larton responded in the affirmative.

When asked if the babies don’t have a heartbeat when the procurement is conducted, she advised, “It would depend.”

“I can see hearts that are not in an intact POC (product of conception, i.e. baby) that are beating independently,” Larton outlined.

The Center for Medical Progress is concerned that Planned Parenthood and its partners might be engaging in organ harvesting of babies born alive, in violation of federal law, 18 U.S. Code 1958.

As previously reported, CMP also released a video at the end of May showing Planned Parenthood Mar Monte Chief Medical Director Dorothy Furgerson seemingly testifying under oath that the payments her organization received from partner Stem Express were directly for the baby body parts, based on their usability.

When asked whether Planned Parenthood would still be paid if a “sample” was found to be unusable, Furgerson simply answered “no.” Asked again whether Planned Parenthood Mar Monte would only be compensated if the sample was usable, she replied “yes.”

CMP noted that the admission is important because Planned Parenthood had claimed to the media and others that it was only donating the “tissue” and the funds received were not for the aborted “tissues” themselves but for general administrative “costs” associated with their transferal.

Further, the Stem Express contract with Planned Parenthood Mar Monte also expressly stated that the affiliate would be paid “$55 per POC [product of conception] determined in the clinic to be usable and $10 per maternal blood.”

“Planned Parenthood Mar Monte will invoice Stem-Ex monthly for the number of POC’s and number of maternal bloods procured by Stem-Ex,” it reads.

Invoices sent from Planned Parenthood Mar Monte to Stem Express, which were a part of the court record, show the abortion giant billing Stem Express for thousands of dollars each month.

As previously reported, following the release of Daleiden’s undercover videos in 2015, then-Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards firmly denied that the organization received compensation for aborted babies, stating in a recorded video:

“I want to be really clear: The allegation that Planned Parenthood profits in any way from tissue donation is not true. Our donation programs — like any other high-quality health care providers — follow all laws and ethical guidelines.”

Planned Parenthood also claimed that the videos had been deceptively edited, but the full versions of the recordings were freely viewable on YouTube for all who wished to watch the hours-long raw footage as well.

SUPREME COURT JUSTICE ROBERTS JOINS LIBERALS IN 5-4 RULING~SAYS REQUIRING ABORTIONISTS TO OBTAIN HOSPITAL ADMISSION RIGHTS IS “BURDEN ON ACCESS TO ABORTION”

BY HEATHER CLARK

WASHINGTON — Supreme Court Justice John Roberts sided with his liberal colleagues on Monday to strike down a Louisiana law requiring abortionists to obtain admitting privileges at a local hospital in the event that a mother is injured in the process of having her unborn baby killed. Roberts, nominated to the court by then-President George W. Bush, opined that the rule “imposes an undue burden on access to abortion.” Many Christians believe that they must vote Republican in order to put “conservative” justices on the bench.

Roberts joined Justices Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan to be the deciding factor in the 5-4 decision. Justices Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh dissented.

“The law would reduce the number of clinics from three to ‘one, or at most two,’ and the number of physicians providing abortions from five to ‘one, or at most two,’ and ‘therefore cripple women’s ability to have an abortion in Louisiana,'” Roberts wrote in a separate opinion.

“The Louisiana law imposes a burden on access to abortion just as severe as that imposed by the Texas law, for the same reasons,” he said, referring to the 2016 ruling in Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt. “Therefore, Louisiana’s law cannot stand under our precedents.”

Roberts had dissented in the 2016 ruling, but noted in Monday’s opinion, “I joined the dissent in Whole Woman’s Health and continue to believe that the case was wrongly decided. The question today, however, is not whether Whole Woman’s Health was right or wrong, but whether to adhere to it in deciding the present case.”

Louisiana Act Number 620 required abortionists to “have active admitting privileges at a hospital that is located not further than thirty miles from the location at which the abortion is performed or induced and that provides obstetrical or gynecological health care services.”

Admitting privileges are defined as being “a member in good standing of the medical staff of a hospital that is currently licensed by the
Department [of Health and Hospitals], with the ability to admit a patient and to provide diagnostic and surgical services to such patient.”

Read the bill in full here.

Justice Breyer wrote the main opinion for the court, similarly stating, “Some hospitals expressly bar anyone with privileges from performing abortions. Others are unwilling to extend privileges to abortion providers as a matter of discretion. … Still other hospitals have requirements that abortion providers cannot satisfy because of the hostility they face in Louisiana.”

And with fewer abortion facilities due to the inability to meet the admission privileges requirement, “it would still leave thousands of Louisiana women with no practical means of obtaining a safe, legal abortion, and it would not meaningfully address the health risks associated with crowding and delay for those able to secure an appointment with one of the state’s two remaining providers.”

Breyer and the majority consequently agreed with a lower court ruling that “Louisiana’s law poses a ‘substantial obstacle’ to women seeking an abortion; its determination that the law offers no significant health-related benefits; and its determination that the law consequently imposes an ‘undue burden’ on a woman’s constitutional right to choose to have an abortion.”

Read the ruling, along with the concurrences and dissents, in full here.

As previously reported, Roberts also joined the liberal justices of the court to uphold Obamacare in 2012, disappointing a number of conservatives who thought he would save the country from the requirements in the Affordable Care Act. He recently sided with his liberal colleagues to reject a challenge to California’s limits on church attendance during the coronavirus pandemic.

In 2005, during a discussion about the separation of church and state with Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., Roberts, a Roman Catholic, explained, “[M]y faith and my religious beliefs do not play a role in judging. When it comes to judging, I look to the law books and always have. I don’t look to the Bible or any other religious source.”

2 Chronicles 19:6 reads, “Take heed what ye do, for ye judge not for man but for the Lord, who is with you in the judgment.”

Psalm 2:10-12 exhorts, “Be wise now therefore, O ye kings. Be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry and ye perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him.”

PLANNED PARENTHOOD ENDORSES BIDEN; SAYS IT’S “A LIFE AND DEATH ELECTION”

BY HEATHER CLARK

WASHINGTON — The sexually-centered contraception and abortion giant Planned Parenthood has endorsed Democratic candidate Joe Biden for president, telling reporters prior to the announcement that this year’s race for the White House is a “life and death election.”

“[T]he Planned Parenthood Action Fund is proud to endorse Joe Biden for president — because our rights, our freedom and our healthcare are on the line this November,” Acting Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) President Alexis McGill Johnson stated in a video released on Monday.

“Americans need a president who will empower women, families and young people,” she said.

McGill Johnson explained that one of the reasons the group supports Biden is that during the Obama administration, the Affordable Care Act resulted in free birth control to 63 million women, and the government “built toward equality.”

She said that Trump has “tried to tear down our progress,” allegedly making it harder to obtain birth control, “sabotaging” the Affordable Care Act, partially defunding Planned Parenthood, and “appointing a record number of judges opposed to reproductive rights.”

“The last four years, the most fundamental rights and our health have been under attack,” she stated, as if abortion and contraception were health issues. “We can’t afford another four years.”

In the video, Biden promised to expand access to abortion if elected, stating that he is “proud” to stand with Planned Parenthood.

“It’s a simple proposition: Health care is a right not dependent on race, gender, income or zip code,” he remarked. “As president, I’m going to do everything in my power to expand access to quality, affordable health care for women, especially women of color.”

He vowed to reverse the so-called “gag rule” prohibiting family planning facilities receiving federal funding under Title X from referring mothers for abortions.

“We will protect women’s constitutional right to choose,” Biden said. “I am proud to stand with you in this fight.”

NPR reports that McGill Johnson told the outlet prior to the announcement, “This is literally a life and death election.”

However, Jeanne Mancini, president of the ecumenical annual event March For Life, told NPR that the remark was “offensive.”

“It is offensive to hear our nation’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, an organization that claims the lives of 345,672 American babies annually (a third of all of the abortions in this country each year), call the 2020 cycle a ‘life and death’ election,” she said.

“Those who really care about protecting life realize that the election of Planned Parenthood-endorsed candidate, Joe Biden, will result in a major increase of tax dollars going to the billion-dollar organization, including direct payment for abortions, among other deadly consequences,” Mancini commented.

As previously reported, last month, during a town hall event in which he received an endorsement from former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Biden claimed that abortion is an “essential healthcare service” during the coronavirus pandemic and that states shouldn’t be “using public health crises to infringe on a women’s constitutional rights” to abortion.

“[W]e need to ensure that women have access to all health services during this crisis. Abortion is an essential healthcare service. It’s being used as a political wedge right now and it shouldn’t be,” he said during the livestreamed broadcast.

A page on Biden’s website, called “Women for Biden,” explains that — if elected — Biden’s objectives include codifying Roe v. Wade into law, reinstating federal Title X and Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood, and repealing the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits federal funds from being used for abortion (with exceptions).

As previously reported, during a vice presidential debate in 2012, Biden, a Roman Catholic, outlined that while he personally believes that life begins at conception, he doesn’t want to “impose” his view on others.

“Life begins at conception in the Church’s judgment. I accept it in my personal life,” he said. “I refuse to impose it on equally devout Christians and Muslims and Jews, and I just refuse to impose that on others …”

“I do not believe that we have a right to tell other people that — women — they can’t control their body. It’s a decision between them and their doctor. In my view and the Supreme Court, I’m not going to interfere with that,” Biden stated.

Trump, while identifying as pro-life, has stated publicly that he supports the exceptions of rape, incest and the life of the mother.

“As most people know, and for those who would like to know, I am strongly pro-life, with the three exceptions — rape, incest and protecting the life of the mother — the same position taken by Ronald Reagan,” he tweeted in May 2019.

In 2016, while still a presidential candidate, Trump wrote in an op-ed published by the Washington Examiner, “Let me be clear — I am pro-life. I support that position with exceptions allowed for rape, incest or the life of the mother being at risk.”

He also told NBC’s “Today” show that same year that he would like to see the exceptions in the Republican platform.

“The Republican platform, every four years, has a provision that states that the right of the unborn child shall not be infringed. And it makes no exceptions for rape, for incest, for the life of the mother. Would you want to change the Republican platform to include the exceptions that you have?” asked co-host Savannah Guthrie.

“Yes, I would,” Trump replied. “Yes, I would. Absolutely. For the three exceptions, I would.”

Trump’s statements allowing for exceptions are similar to those made by other recent Republican presidents, including George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush.

“My own position on abortion is well-known and remains unchanged. I oppose abortion in all cases except rape or incest, or where the life of the mother is at stake,” George H.W. Bush said in 1992.

”My position has always been three exceptions: rape, incest and the life of the mother,” George W. Bush likewise outlined in 2006.

THE CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE IS BOWING THE KNEE TO RACIALLY DIVISIVE RADICALISM

BY MANNY SILVA

SEE: https://reformednazarene.wordpress.com/2020/06/13/the-church-of-the-nazarene-is-bowing-the-knee-to-racially-divisive-radicalism/;

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational & research purposes:

I am no longer a Nazarene.  I have primarily shifted my focus on pastoring my church and taking care of my family. So it’s been a while that I posted.  But when I saw the latest statement by an official Nazarene group, I was outraged and could not let it go.

My outrage is at the Church of the Nazarene leadership, and their continuing deviation from emphasizing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to a capitulation to divisive social justice politics, and now divisive racial politics. Instead of seeking to unite the church behind the Gospel of Jesus Christ, leaders in the church are bringing it further into chaos and confusion by choosing a stark political viewpoint based on skin color. The following Nazarene statement was written by the ‘Black Strategic Readiness Team’ of USA/Canada Region.  I was never aware that such a group existed!  Is there a ‘White Strategic Readiness Team’? In a church that serves the Lord Jesus Christ, and that preaches holiness, is there really a need for such polarization?

In the statement by this group (which probably does not even represent a majority of Nazarenes), assumptions are made which are insulting and condescending. Proposals are made which, ironically, are actually racist, as I will point out. Their statement as a whole is racially divisive, and will serve no purpose other than to further create a schism in the denomination that has been adrift for years now. No Christian denomination should be creating racial division, and yet this is what exactly has been done here.

You be the judge for yourself after reading the statement.  And we are not simply calling out this group, because surely this is with full approval of the General Superintendents.  Here are just a few of the disturbing issues I have summarized:

  1. The group recommends hiring on a National level a Chief Diversity Officer, and of course, the person must be “of color.” And he/she will have the authority to implement hiring quotas, based on… race!  This is racism.
  2. They also want to create a list of candidates for District Superintendent- based only on the color of their skin! Apparently the content of a pastor’s character will matter far less than the color of his skin. This is clearly racism.  Absolutely outrageous.
  3. From their document: “As a denomination, the Church of the Nazarene heralds a message of holiness and transformation but tends to remain comfortable with the status quo as the calls for racial justice ring through our congregations and communities.” This is such a polarizing statement. How do these folks come to the conclusion that the church is “comfortable with the status quo”?  And what is the status quo?
  4. They recommend that on the District level, “cultural sensitivity training” for all pastors and leaders be done. And… it must be led by a person of color!  Racism again! And what an insult to the many pastors who have faithfully served the Lord without a single bit of racism in their body and mind, to now ask them to be “re-trained?”.  What is the purpose? To make sure that all white Nazarenes are singing along with the same chorus of Black Lives Matter?
  5. They “affirm the significance of black lives”. They “affirm black lives matter.” They may not like this, but all lives matter! They are focusing on racial division. It will not go well.
  6. From their document: “…unjust and systematically unheard stories of unarmed Black and Brown people at the hands of those who are tasked to “protect and serve.” As many others are doing, they are seemingly lumping all law enforcement officers as being problematic, which would be a lie. It is a disrespect of those who work so hard to defend their very lives. These are just a few of the disturbing things in this document. But to summarize again, these people do not speak for the vast majority of honest, loving and totally non-racist Christians in the church.  They have bought into an idea which they feel is the only correct one, and that is that there is systemic racism in the country and in the church.  It is a lie, and there are countless blacks and other people of color who would disagree almost completely with this document. Many will say that they will not play the victim card, and that it is time to stop the racial division now in the church.

So why is this racial division being exercised?  I believe these Nazarenes mean well, but they have made a huge mistake.  They have bought into the Marxist ideology of a hateful and terroristic organization (Black Lives Matter).  They have been duped by a tool of Satan. Instead of bringing the church together, they have helped further sow the seeds of division by emphasizing the color of one’s skin.

    A Phony Outrage

Has this group ever expressed their concern for the thousands of blacks who die at the hands of other blacks in Chicago and other war-torn cities?  Has this group expressed their outrage at 1,000 black innocent babies that day on a daily basis? Has this group, or the church leaders, expressed outrage at the killing of police officers as a result of these protests and riots? Have they expressed outrage at the many blacks whose livelihoods have been destroyed- by other blacks! Has this group, and the General Superintendents, ever expressed outrage at ALL racism, including black on white racism?  Have they called out Black Lives Matter, a totally racist organization led by people who promote an unbiblical and Marist agenda?  No.  Instead, they shamefully stand with them. Sadly, I don’t see any evidence that they truly care about racial justice for all.

What a shame, and what an insult to God’s word. I am no longer a Nazarene, but as many others like me, I cry in my heart as this holiness denomination is becoming a tool of the radical leftist agendas, just as it has been captured by the emergent church ideology already. But there are no watchmen anymore at the top of the leadership, and so it’s up to the people in the pews to do something about it.

And as Dr. Everett Piper stated recently regarding Black Lives Matter:

“How can you stand with an organization that mocks God, denies the Bible, belittles men, demeans women and subjugates generations of black children to the dysfunction of fatherless families?  What is wrong with you?”  (Evangelical Pastors Pander to Black Lives Matter)

Statement Toward Racial Justice and Righteousness Black Strategic Readiness Team – Church of the Nazarene USA/Canada June 5, 2020

We, the Black Strategic Readiness Team of the Church of the Nazarene – USA/Canada Region, long to see our denomination better connect with and support Black communities, churches, and leaders throughout the United States and Canada. Be it known to all that we stand against racial injustice. We are personally affected and also caring for many who are affected by the recent deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd. We acknowledge that their deaths represent many similar unjust and systematically unheard stories of unarmed Black and Brown people at the hands of those who are tasked to “protect and serve.” Words cannot adequately express our heartbreak for families, churches, communities, and all of humanity in this season of communal grief and urgency.

A national outrage ensued that has rapidly spread across the nation and many parts of the world. “Enough is enough!” is the wearied outcry reverberating through the streets of our cities as protesters and allies call for change, not only against another incidence of racial injustice, but against the structures and systems that have historically and continuously devalued and marginalized the lives of Black and Brown people. Indeed, the historical sin of racism is very much a present reality and challenge for the church to address. We are seeking more than a statement.

The complex issues of racism are deeply ingrained in the fabric of our nation, and a mere statement does not alleviate the constant searing anguish Black families and communities continue to endure. As a denomination, the Church of the Nazarene heralds a message of holiness and transformation but tends to remain comfortable with the status quo as the calls for racial justice ring through our congregations and communities. We acknowledge those who recognize and empathize with our raw pain, and we recognize our denomination’s Manual statement against racial “discrimination.” However, this is a crucial moment for the Church of the Nazarene to make commitments toward real change. We sense the need to move toward prayerful, thoughtful, and expeditious action.

Our denomination’s growth in righteousness and justice must not be separated. Let us take seriously the Word of the Lord spoken through the prophet Isaiah: Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? (Isaiah 58:6) We ask leaders and congregations in the Church of the Nazarene to commit to breaking the chains of racial injustice. Join us in both lament and advocacy: We lament. We lament that racism continues to narrate the nation and negatively affect Christians’ imagination of what is possible. With the Psalmist, we cry out, “How long, O Lord?” We plead for the Holy Spirit to open calloused hearts and closed minds. We plead for the Holy Spirit to make the truth plain to those accustomed to finding their away around the Way of Jesus.

Amidst this lament, we recognize that God has given human beings agency to participate in the Way forward and has empowered the church to bear witness to the kingdom of God here and now.

We stand. We stand with every church and pastor who continues to trumpet the call for true justice and peace. We stand in alignment with God’s heart for justice to set the oppressed free (Luke 4:18)

We affirm. We affirm God’s call to holiness of heart and life, which necessarily includes a commitment to racial justice. God chose the oppressed Hebrew community. God also identified with the oppressed people of Nazareth. We are called to illuminate the lives of people who have been systematically devalued in the United States. Affirming the significance of black lives is an essential way of resisting the evil fist of an unjust and prejudiced system that capitalizes on the suffering and death of Black people. We affirm that Black lives matter.

We call. We call on the church to welcome and support courageous conversations about race and take bold action against racism in America and the Church of the Nazarene. This includes reflection upon the way racial injustice may be linked to other forms of injustice and will take commitment and intentionality from all levels of our denomination.

We seek. We seek unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. We seek the peace of our communities. We seek shalom for all, recognizing that we can no longer settle for false notions of amity and

reconciliation. True peacebuilding requires the uncomfortable work of unmasking and naming oppressive power structures as well as embracing the diligent work of change.

We, hereby, recommend the following immediate action steps as we engage in longer-term planning:

Action Steps on the National Level

    1. The General Board should facilitate an honest conversation with church leaders at every level about systemic racism in the Church of the Nazarene.
    2. The General Church (GMC) should hire a Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) of color for the USA/Canada region. He/she must be a member of the senior leadership team and be given full authority/power to enact hiring practices and recommendations and to ensure their implementation. He/she must also work with District leaders on developing objectives to ensure that districts reflect the diversity of their locality at every level.
    3. The General Superintendents should include and recommend on their short list qualified persons of color to fill District Superintendent vacancies in the USA/Canada region.

Action Steps on the District Level

    1. District Superintendents and DAB (District Advisory Board) should conduct ongoing cultural sensitivity & diversity training for all local pastors and leaders. This training should be led by someone of color, preferably from outside the district.
    2. During pastoral assessments, District superintendents should openly engage the local church board/congregation about racial injustice in their congregation.
    3. The (DAB) should reflect the cultural diversity of the district that it serves.
    4. District Superintendents and DAB’s should develop relevant action steps aimed at increasing the presence of Black leaders and churches of color.

Action Steps on the Local Level

    1. Pastors should intentionally address the challenges that people of color face.
    2. Pastors/church boards should promote and encourage intercultural activities.
    3. Pastors should seek opportunities to exchange pulpits with ministers of color who are in harmony with the Wesleyan doctrine of holiness.
    4. The local church and leadership should develop a plan for the church to reflect the diversity of the community at large and provide resources and support to its constituency.
    5. Churches should promote and provide a platform for open dialogues on racism with children, youth and young adults.

Action Steps for Black Pastors and Leaders

    1. Pastors should encourage their parishioners to exercise their right to vote.
    2. Pastors should seek opportunities to exchange pulpits with Anglo pastors and ministers who are in harmony with the Wesleyan doctrine of holiness.
    3. Pastors should seek opportunities to preach about racial harmony, justice and a proper response to unjust treatment (e.g. nonviolent direct action, voting, participation in police merit boards, etc.…)
    4. Pastors/churches should open their doors to community forums that address their community’s racial disparities (i.e. health, economic, education, etc.)
    5. Pastors, church leaders, and parishioners should participate in District and General church activities throughout the year. May we move together toward racial justice and righteousness as we seek to bear witness to the kingdom of God here and now. May we move with faithfulness and urgency.

CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Sixth Circuit of Court of Appeals has upheld a lower court ruling striking down a Kentucky law that prohibited abortionists from dismembering unborn children alive in the womb, ruling that the restriction “imposes substantial burdens on the right to choose” because it amounts to a ban on second trimester abortions. The State had argued in court that abortionists could still perform dilation and evacuation (D&E) abortions if other methods to kill the child were used first, such as fatal injections or an umbilical cord transection.

“Altogether, H.B. 454 imposes substantial burdens on the right to choose,” wrote Judge Eric Clay, nominated to the bench by then-President Bill Clinton. “Because none of the fetal-demise procedures proposed by the secretary [of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services] provides a feasible workaround to H.B. 454’s restrictions, it effectively prohibits the most common second-trimester abortion method, the D&E.”

He was joined in the opinion by Judge Gilbert Merritt, nominated by then-President Jimmy Carter. Judge John Bush, nominated to the bench by President Donald Trump, dissented.

“Because the burdens imposed by H.B. 454 dramatically outweigh any benefit it provides, H.B. 454 unduly burdens an individual’s right to elect to have an abortion prior to viability,” Clay concluded. “Thus, H.B. 454 violates the Fourteenth Amendment.”

The last remaining abortion facility in Kentucky, EMW Women’s Surgical Center, had sued then-Secretary Adam Meier in 2018 after the stated House Bill 454 was signed into law by then-Gov. Matt Bevin. It argued that the law basically prohibits abortions in the second trimester — three months/13 weeks gestation.

The legislation states that “[n]o person shall intentionally perform or induce or attempt to perform or induce an abortion on a pregnant woman: (a) that will result in the bodily dismemberment, crushing, or human vivisection of the unborn child and (b) when the probable post-fertilization age of the unborn child is eleven (11) weeks or greater, except in the case of a medical emergency.”

In May 2019, Judge Joseph McKinley Jr. ruled in favor of the abortion facility, remarking that “the Act will operate as a substantial obstacle to a woman’s right to an abortion before the fetus reached viability — a violation of a woman’s Fourteenth Amendment rights to privacy and bodily integrity.”

The State appealed, and on Tuesday, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Tuesday that while Kentucky “might justifiably regulate abortion[,] … no Commonwealth interest may justify ‘placing a substantial obstacle in the path of a woman seeking an abortion’ prior to viability.”

It noted that while the text of the law seems to prohibit D&E abortions altogether, Acting Secretary Eric Friedlander argued that abortionists may still perform D&E abortions if they first stop the baby’s heart from beating, such as via a digoxin injection, potassium chloride injection or an umbilical cord transection.

“The Secretary asserts that the Commonwealth may constitutionally require individuals to undergo these procedures because they are ‘reasonable alternative[s]’ to a standard D&E,” Clay outlined.

But the court argued that the options were not alternatives to D&E but an additional procedure, which also poses additional risks to the mother. It additionally stated that there is no benefit to killing the child another way first because the D&E is performed anyway, and the district court had claimed that babies cannot feel pain at that stage of development.

“The most obvious potential benefit to separating fetal tissue post-demise rather than pre-demise is that it eliminates any possibility of fetal pain. But the district court permissibly found that it is impossible for a fetus to feel pain during the period in which D&Es are administered, and so H.B. 454 provides no benefit in that regard,” Clay wrote.

“H.B. 454 unduly burdens the right to choose, in violation of the Fourteenth Amendment,” he concluded. “Should H.B. 454 be allowed to go into effect, it would cause Plaintiffs’ patients to suffer ‘continuing irreparable injury’ for which there is no adequate remedy at law.”

However, as previously reported, Christians throughout history have decried abortion as murder, no matter the method or reason. The late preacher Lee Roy Shelton wrote in “The Crimes of Our Times” in a section on abortion:

“When killing anyone, the murderer is guilty of taking the life which God has given, and therefore he is ‘playing God’ by saying when and how a man should die. But God doesn’t look lightly upon those who try to take His place.”

“God has given us the Sixth Commandment as a fence about human life to preserve it, for it is sacred to Him. Yes, the Bible declares human life to be sacred.
