I know: knock me over with a feather, right? The first man who insists he is a woman to become a state lawmaker, Stacie Marie Laughton, has been arrested on charges of distributing child pornography. As PJM’s Paula Bolyard put it, “Who could have predicted that someone who immerses himself in sexual perversion could do something like this?” The answer is that no one on the Left could have predicted it, because Leftists remain determined to pretend, and demand that we pretend, that the transgender madness isn’t madness at all, and that those who are in the grip of these delusions and fantasies are perfectly normal and well-adjusted.
The Daily Wire reported Friday that a gentleman named Stacie Marie Laughton, formerly known as Barry Charles Laughton, Jr., “is now facing four counts of distributing sexually explicit images of children.” According to a Thursday report in the Nashua, N.H., Patch, Sgt. John Cinelli of the Nashua Police Department said that officers “spoke with reporting parties that indicated Laughton distributed sexually explicit images of children.”
Laughton’s claim to fame is that he was elected, not once but twice, to the New Hampshire state legislature.Apparently, he managed to conceal the unsavory details of his record from New Hampshire voters long enough to get elected the first time. But then he was elected again. It’s unclear why Granite State voters are so fond of this fellow, as his record is full of even more red flags than just the fact that he is a man who has grown his hair long and now, despite his receding hairline, demands to be regarded as a woman.
Back in 2008, according to the Patch, “she was convicted of conspiracy to commit credit card fraud and falsifying physical evidence charges while living in Laconia as a man.” That sentence neatly encapsulates the madness of our age. Patch dutifully refers to Laughton as “she,” and says he was “living in Laconia as a man,” when the reality is exactly the opposite: he is now living as a woman when he is actually a man and was living as one in 2008. And despite the fact that Laughton’s derangement and mental illness are on full display in Patch’s report, Patch feeds his destructive delusions by pretending that he really is a woman.
Laughton was elected to the New Hampshire state legislature in November 2012. By this time, he was apparently claiming to be a woman, as Patch notes that he was “the first transgender elected official in New Hampshire and one of only a handful across the United States at the time.” The Daily Wire says he was “the nation’s first transgender-identifying state lawmaker.” It was only after he was elected that Laughton’s “felony status and jail time came to light. After talking with state Democrats and eyeing the media coverage, Laughton resigned.”
He was down, but he wasn’t out, reports the Patch: “A special election was scheduled a few weeks later, and Laughton signed up to run again. However, officials determined she was ineligible to hold public office, according to state law, because she had not completed her sentence — her sentence included a 10-year good behavior clause and a restitution requirement.” Laughton didn’t quite make it through ten years of good behavior: in 2015, he was “arrested on a felony charge, accused of making a bomb threat against the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center.” With admirable self-awareness, Laughton “blamed ‘mental illness’ for the bomb threat incident.”
Yet despite openly acknowledging being mentally ill, Laughton hadn’t given up on his dream of a political career. Patch notes oddly that “after paying restitution on the fraud charge from 2008 and serving the good behavior clause, Laughton was allowed to run for office again in 2019.” Yet the good behavior clause was for ten years, which he could not possibly have fulfilled, given his 2015 bomb threat. Nevertheless, Laughton was elected a New Hampshire state representative in 2020, and a selectman in 2011, 2019, and 2021.
The popular statesman, however, just couldn’t keep on the right side of the law. He was “arrested in July 2021 on seven counts of penalty for false information, accused of misusing the state’s 911 texting system. According to a report on Patch, she claimed she was being spoofed at the time.” Then, after being re-elected yet again in Nov. 2022, he resigned again, after being arrested again for “stalking a woman in Hudson.” Yet again, Laughton had kept the unsavory details of his life from voters until after he was safely reelected.
So we have serial women’s luggage thief Sam Brinton and now Stacie Laughton and no doubt innumerable others to show us the obvious: those men who genuinely think that they’re women are not of sound mind. Their delusions should not be catered to. They should not be in positions of responsibility. And they most certainly shouldn’t be lauded as heroes and role models.

It should have been cause for celebration. According to a Monday report in the Daily Caller, Ryan Webb announced that he was “honored” to “shatter that glass ceiling” as he became the “very first lesbian woman of color” to serve as a county councilman in Delaware County, Indiana. Yet instead of celebrating, Leftist Hoosiers are enraged and are calling for Webb to be removed from the county council altogether. Webb has even received death threats. Wait a minute: Don’t they love men who claim to be women, and women who claim to be men? Doesn’t today’s Left celebrate gender confusion and mental disorders? Not in this case.
Ryan Webb started it all in late April when he posted on Facebook that “after much consideration, I have decided to come out and finally feel comfortable announcing my true authentic self. It is with great relief that I announce to everyone that I identify as a woman and not just any woman but as a woman of color as well. I guess this would make me gay/lesbian as well since I am attracted to women.”
This is just the sort of thing that makes one a hero to Leftists today, and Webb laid it on thick, adding: “Whew, that felt good to finally get that out there and start living life as my true self. I’m excited to bring some diversity to the county council. Until today we didn’t have any females of color or LGBTQIAPC+++ on the council. I’m glad that now we do!” But then he added: “To avoid confusion, everyone can continue to address me as Ryan or as Councilman Webb. I will also retain my preferred pronouns of He/Him, however, this will in no way diminish my true identity as a woman of color.” What? No pronoun nonsense? Webb concluded by saying: “God bless America!” God? What?
Webb also appears to have continued to wear men’s clothes, rather than go the full Sam Brinton route and embrace the full drag-queen look of skirts and feather boas, and garish eyeliner. Nor has he started wearing a silly-looking wig to hide his receding hairline. All that plus the fact that up to now Webb has been a Republican who has mocked the transgender madness, and even Leftists were sharp enough to see that something was amiss. The Muncie Star-Pressadds that “the post was signed with a string of emojis, including the American Flag, a rainbow flag, a person of color, a winking smiley face and a bicep flex.” Charlize Jamieson, a man who claims to be a woman and lives in Webb’s district, began to suspect he was being mocked.
Jamieson wrote to Webb on Facebook: “Was this really necessary? It’s unbecoming of an elected official … or a decent human being for that matter.” Webb responded by turning the Left’s game on one of its players: “Charlize Jamieson do you think you have the only password to the forbidden world of coming out? When you decided to become a woman did people tell you it was unbecoming? Sorry pal but you don’t get to decipher who is acceptable and who isn’t. I was hoping that you and I could be friends now that we’re both ladies that used to be men. I’ll give you some more time.” This was great fun, but it all quickly got ugly.
Webb noted that a group with the Orwellian name “Indiana Progressives” began “a hate and harassment campaign against me and my family by publishing my address and encouraging people to unlawfully congregate at my home.” Then at the county council meeting last Tuesday, Jamieson and others demanded Webb’s resignation. “He has, purposely, and intentionally, misgendered me,” Jamieson declared, “ridiculing my own gender identity. That is not something transgender people do to one another.”
Another Leftist complained about “having to take time out of my day today to try to teach a grown man how to behave appropriately” and reminded the council that “jobs require a certain amount of integrity to be exercised. In none of my jobs in the past 21 years would I have been permitted to mock and disrespect my customers. If I did I would be fired. We are your customers. The people. You are a public official. He may mind his manners here in this room, but his behavior online absolutely casts shame on this entire council.”
Webb defended himself by saying: “You don’t get to question me. You do not get to require proof from me. You were part of the movement that helped establish these rules and set the bar, OK? You don’t get to come later when someone else joins the club that you don’t want in … You don’t get to question how I identify.” He also refused to resign.
How is Ryan Webb wrong? If Rachel Levine, Lia Thomas, and Charlize Jamieson can proclaim that they’re women and demand that everyone play along, why can’t Ryan Webb? Because he’s mocking them? He is indeed exposing how ridiculous they are before the world, but they themselves are mocking reality and embracing insanity. For Leftists, that mockery is just fine. Ryan Webb’s isn’t. If anyone deserves to be called “stunning and brave,” it’s Ryan Webb.

On the same day that his principal opponent was indicted on the most dubious of charges, our Supreme Leader Joseph R. Biden Jr. proclaimed Friday to be the Transgender Day of Visibility, complete with a presidential proclamation. With six people dead in Nashville at the hands of a “transgender American” just four days before, this proclamation appeared at first glance to be spectacularly tone-deaf. It was planned before the shooting, as Old Joe first proclaimed March 31 to be the Transgender Day of Visibility in 2021, but nonetheless, Biden’s handlers had plenty of time to call it off after the massacre, or at the very least to temper it with a warning about the violence. Instead, whichever socialist wonk wrote the proclamation for Old Joe went full-throttle.
In light of the Nashville shooting, the proclamation’s message couldn’t have been clearer if Biden’s handlers had tacked “Or Else” in giant letters onto the end of it. The proclamation claims that “a wave of discriminatory State laws is targeting transgender youth, terrifying families and hurting kids who are not hurting anyone.” This is clever framing: state attempts to stop the mutilation of vulnerable and confused children are “terrifying families and hurting kids.” The devastation wrought by the mutilations themselves, as well as the lifelong dependence upon pharmaceuticals and the endless war with one’s true self, is passed over in silence.
Not only that but – what else? – racism is playing a part in all this victimization as well: “An epidemic of violence against transgender women and girls, in particular women and girls of color, has taken lives far too soon. Last year’s Club Q shooting in Colorado was another painful example of this kind of violence — a stain on the conscience of our Nation.” Men who think they’re women and women who think they’re men are victims, you see, and for the Left, that means they deserve special privileges and accommodations.
Conspicuously, however, the proclamation says nothing whatsoever about the Nashville shooting. The proclamation expatriates how people who suffer from these gender delusions are paragons of heroism and integrity, sterling individuals who have unjustly suffered so much. If one of them lashes out in violence against all the persecution they have endured, it’s regrettable, sure, but entirely understandable. The proclamation hails “the joy, strength, and absolute courage of some of the bravest people I know — people who have too often had to put their jobs, relationships, and lives on the line just to be their true selves.” Accordingly, “today, we show millions of transgender and nonbinary Americans that we see them, they belong, and they should be treated with dignity and respect.” Once again: or else.
Warming to his or her or xis topic, Biden’s ghostwriter dived headlong into overwrought rhetoric, portraying these confused and deluded people as nothing less than the heroes of our age: “Transgender Americans shape our Nation’s soul — proudly serving in the military, curing deadly diseases, holding elected office, running thriving businesses, fighting for justice, raising families, and much more.” Wow! No doubt they can also leap tall buildings in a single bound.
When you compare this to the reality—squat Rachel Levine serving risibly as assistant secretary of health, “gender-fluid” Sam Brinton parading around in the women’s clothes he found in the luggage he stole, and poor Audrey Hale opening fire at a Christian school—this rhetoric is jaw-droppingly out of focus and divorced from reality.
But it serves its purpose. Portraying transgender people as selfless, energetic, productive, wholesome, and heroic is designed to disarm opposition to the entire transgender project. This has been a full-court press since the Nashville shooting Monday, with media outlets and Leftist pundits everywhere acting as if a crazed Christian killed six transgender people, rather than the other way around. The Leftist establishment is attempting to instrumentalize the Nashville attack and blame its victims in order to shame any further opposition to trans madness into silence.
“America,” Old Joe’s ghostwriter proclaimed, “is founded on the idea that all people are created equal and deserve to be treated equally throughout their lives. We have never fully lived up to that, but we have never walked away from it either. Today, as we celebrate transgender people, we also celebrate every American’s fundamental right to be themselves, bringing us closer to realizing America’s full promise.” Sure. A promise to protect those who are bamboozled into a life of rage and madness by the false claim that mutilating themselves will bring them liberation. That lie, and others like it, is indeed at the core of our nation’s soul today. That’s why we’re in this fix.

Just a few months ago, Sam Brinton was a rising star in the universe of the woke. Back on June 29, he announced, with considerable fanfare, his new role as deputy assistant secretary of the Office of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition in the U.S. Department of Energy and tweeted happily about being “one of if not the very first openly genderfluid individuals in federal government leadership.” But it all ended ignominiously less than six months later: on Dec. 12, a Department of Energy spokesbeing announced tersely: “Sam Brinton is no longer a DOE employee. By law, the Department of Energy cannot comment further on personnel matters.”
Brinton turned out to be carrying too much baggage: his firing came after he was caught purloining that baggage from airports in Minneapolis and Las Vegas. On Wednesday, he appeared in a Minnesota court on luggage theft charges, and it wasn’t exactly like facing Old Joe Biden’s sycophantic, far-Left press corps in Washington.
Brinton likes to parade around in women’s clothes, but the seriousness of the charges he faces was apparently sobering; for his court appearance on Wednesday, he left his skirts in the closet and dressed quite conservatively (for him) in a suit and black button-down shirt. The suit’s burgundy color, however, did make it an outfit more suitable for a Batman villain than for a conventional government official.Brinton, according to the UK’s Daily Mail, “could face up to five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine if found guilty.” As a cosseted member of the Leftist elite, Brinton is unlikely to be sentenced even to a fraction of that, but there is no doubt that his day in court was not the inspiring demonstration of how “diversity is our strength” that the Left would like all the public appearances of “non-binary” people to be.
Brinton was in court to face charges related to accusations that he stole a woman’s bag from the baggage claim area at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport on Sept. 16. Speculation has persisted since then that Brinton’s grab-bag style when wearing women’s clothing resulted from his practice of wearing whatever he found in the bags he carried off. It’s tough to be essentially the only disgraced official of a spectacularly disgraceful administration, and Brinton had tried to dodge having to make this humiliating public appearance. His lawyers repeatedly requested that he be allowed to appear remotely, but Judge Gina Brandt stated that “the current District Policy does not allow for remote appearances to be conducted for Felony 1st Appearances on the Property Drug Calendar.”
Once he was in court, however, Brandt took pains to make him feel comfortable, accommodating his delusions by referring to him not as “Mr. Brinton,” but as “Mx Brinton.” According to the Daily Mail, which also fed Brinton’s delusions by ridiculously (and confusingly) referring to him using plural pronouns, “Mx is a common gender-neutral title given to non-binary people who do not wish to have a gender referred to in their title.”
Reporters on the scene, however, were less deferential. Brinton was peppered with questions, all of which he ignored, as he left the courthouse and walked to a waiting limo: “Are you here for an interview with the [Minnesota Gov. Tim] Walz administration?” That was a good question, as Walz would likely love to have a “gender-fluid, non-binary” individual prominently on staff. Another impertinent scribbler asked Brinton: “Did you visit the Larry Craig restroom?” Larry Craig was the U.S. senator who, in 2007, was arrested in a restroom at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport for soliciting an undercover police officer for sex.
Brinton was also asked: “Do you have any comments on the train disaster in Ohio? You’re an expert in these things.” Brinton is indeed touted as an expert in nuclear waste disposal, but the material poisoning the atmosphere in Ohio is apparently not nuclear; was the reporter implying that Brinton himself was a train wreck? In any case, another asked Brinton: “Why would you want some lady’s dirty clothes?”
There’s the rub. Why indeed would Brinton have wanted to steal women’s luggage in the first place? That question gets to the heart of the problem: the very thing for which the Biden regime celebrated Brinton appears to be exactly the same thing that led him to commit acts that have gotten him charged with felony theft. That was the biggest message of his court appearance Wednesday. Whether anyone among the political and cultural elites will grasp that message, however, is an entirely different matter.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said it Friday: “Also new, uh, I also know uh, that Ben is making history.” She was referring to Ben LaBolt, the new White House communications director. “As you know,” Jean-Pierre struggled on, “we believe here, in the Biden-Harris White House, that representation matters, he will be the first openly, uh, gay, uh, um, uh, communications director, which is very, very important indeed.” It is? With the military shooting a series of strange and unexplained objects out of the sky, a nonexistent Southern border, skyrocketing inflation, and all the rest of the catastrophes that Biden’s handlers have caused, it’s good to know they have a firm grasp of what’s really important and are doggedly continuing to pander to their gay base.
To be sure, Ben LaBolt may actually be qualified to serve as communications director for the Biden Dumpster Fire. He is, according to a New York Timesreport Friday, “a veteran press adviser to former President Barack Obama.” Jean-Pierre herself touted his résumé Friday, stating that LaBolt “has had a top role — communications role on the last three successful Supreme Court nominations by Democratic Presidents.” What’s more, “We all got to work with him closely when he was the head of communications for the confirmation of Jus- — of now-Justice Jackson.”
Jean-Pierre added, “I’ve known Ben for many years, including both Obama-Biden campaigns and the Obama-Biden White House, where he worked on climate change and civil rights. I was happy to reconnect with him when he took over communications for nominations during the transition, helping advance the case for the most diverse Cabinet in history, and for a host of groundbreaking sub-Cabinet positions as well.” It was after pointing all that out that Jean-Pierre added what she clearly considered to be the pièce de résistance, the best and most important detail of all: the bit about LaBolt being the first homosexual White House communications director, which she insisted was “very, very important indeed.”
It’s a shame that there are so few actual reporters in the White House press corps, as it would have been nice if a journalist had been present to ask Jean-Pierre to explain exactly why it was “very, very important” to have a homosexual communications director. The Biden White House is certainly far more concerned with sexual issues than any administration before it, but nonetheless, as communications director, Ben LaBolt will also have to deal with a great many matters that have nothing whatsoever to do with sex and sexuality. Clearly, he has been laboring in the Democrat vineyards for a long time, but now Jean-Pierre has raised the same questions that were asked about her as well, as other Biden appointments: did they get the job because of their qualifications, or because they allowed Biden’s handlers to check off a few diversity boxes?
The Biden regime has not exactly been an advertisement for diversity hires. Karine Jean-Pierre herself only has her job because she is a black lesbian, and she has given us abundant proof that she is woefully unqualified to perform her duties. Cameroonian reporter Simon Ateba said it best during a January 2023 White House press briefing: “You don’t seem a good fit for this job.” Indeed she isn’t. But being a good fit for the job was never something that concerned Biden’s handlers; she is a black lesbian, and that’s all that matters.
Then there was Sam Brinton, the “gender-fluid,” in-your-face, puppy-playing former Deputy Assistant Secretary for Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition in the Office of Nuclear Energy in the Department of Energy, who got his job precisely because he was “gender-fluid” and in your face about it, and who lost that job because he had too much baggage — baggage, that is, belonging to women, which he purloined in airport baggage claim areas. The Biden White House didn’t see Brinton’s obvious character flaws as a bug, but as a feature, and ended up getting a bracing lesson in why it might not be a bad idea to hire relatively stable and mature people instead of those who revel in breaking taboos and outraging the sensibilities of ordinary Americans.
But no lessons were actually learned, and so now we have a gay White House communications director. What a relief! The government’s business will be done so much more efficiently and smoothly now that systemic, uh, systemic cisnormativity has been eradicated! It’s so reassuring to know, in this time of so many crises and so much global uncertainty, that Biden’s handlers have a resolute focus on their priorities.

The Biden administration’s drag queen show has delivered yet another award-winning performance. Cops have charged the “non-binary” thing in charge of the nation’s nuclear waste with a felony for stealing a suitcase at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
Sam Brinton — who wears dresses, lipstick, and stiletto heels to his job at the U.S. Department of Energy — faces up to five years in the slammer and a $10,000 fine if convicted.
Though Brinton whimpered his excuses to cops, video surveillance shows him taking the bag from the airport’s carousel. He even used it for a trip to Europe.
Not “Completely Honest”
A graduate of MIT, the nancy-boy is in serious trouble, Alpha News reported.
On September 16, a woman who landed in Minneapolis on a flight from New Orleans didn’t find her bag at the carousel. But the bag had, indeed, arrived.
“Airport records confirmed the navy blue Vera Bradley roller bag arrived at 4:40 p.m. but was missing,” Alpha News reported. “So law enforcement reviewed video surveillance footage from the baggage claim area and observed Brinton removing a navy blue roller bag from carousel seven, according to a criminal complaint.”
Whether Brinton broke a nail removing the bag we are not given to know. But the surveillance video shows that he acted like a guilty man, even if he is “gender-fluid.” That leftist neologism means he shifts from one “gender” to another.
“The complaint says Brinton removed a luggage tag from the bag, placed it into a handbag he was carrying, and ‘then left the area at a quick pace,’” Alpha News continued:
Brinton arrived at MSP Airport around 4:27 p.m. on an American Airlines flight from Washington, D.C., but did not check a bag, meaning he had no reason to visit baggage claim, according to the complaint.
Police showed the surveillance video to the victim and she confirmed it was her bag.
Brinton left the airport in an Uber for a stay at the InterContinental St. Paul Riverfront hotel, where he checked in with the blue bag, the complaint says.
He returned to the airport on September 18 to fly back to Washington, D.C., cops allege, then used the bag for a trip to Europe, surveillance video shows.
From there, Brinton’s tale gets as queer as a $3 bill. When a cop called Brinton and asked him if he “took anything that did not belong” to him, he flat-out lied:
“Not that I know of,” Brinton allegedly responded. He later admitted to taking the bag but said the clothes inside were his, according to the complaint.
“If I had taken the wrong bag, I am happy to return it, but I don’t have any clothes for another individual. That was my clothes when I opened the bag,” he told police, according to the complaint.
Two hours later, Brinton called the cop and confessed that he wasn’t “completely honest,” but added that he took the bag because he mistook it for one of his own.
“He realized the bag didn’t belong to him when he opened it up at the hotel but ‘got nervous’ and didn’t ‘know what to do,’” Alpha News continued:
Worried that people would think he “stole the bag,” Brinton told police he left the victim’s clothes in the drawers in the hotel room, according to the complaint.
Brinton said he brought the bag back to D.C. with him because it would have been “weirder” to leave a bag in the hotel room, according to police.
Police told Brinton how to return the bag to Delta, but as of Oct. 27 the victim still had not received her bag back.
Brinton is on leave from his job as deputy assistant secretary of the Office of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition. He goes to criminal court in Hennepin County, Minnesota, on December 19.

Bad as stealing the bag might be, the chrome-domed cross-dresser has done worse, as The New American reported in July.
When federal agents arrested the boss of a website called Rentboy.com, which promoted underage prostitution, Brinton turned fuchsia.
“The federal government’s recent attack on Rentboy.com is a devastating assault on some of the most vulnerable members of our community — young adults who, for the first time in their lives, were able to earn a secure living safely through Rentboy after surviving family rejection and homelessness because of their sexual orientation or gender identity,” the man who now runs America’s nuclear waste policy wrote for a “gay” newspaper.
Selling themselves to older perverts, he continued, was the boys’ only “lifeline out of homelessness, despair, and the dangers of living on the street.”
Indeed, the underage prostitutes’ “main source of income has been ripped away due to irresponsible and archaic views of sex work.”
In other words, Brinton backs the sexual exploitation of underage boys.
Beyond that, Brinton is also involved in something called “pup play,” which involves a “master” and another kook who masquerades as a dog.
That such an individual would find a job in the Biden administration is not surprising. His transportation secretary, Pete Buttigieg, thinks he is married to a man. Biden’s No. 2 health official is a man who calls himself “Rachel,” believes he is a woman and wants to chemically castrate teenagers before puberty.
Biden also picked a cross-dresser to run the Defense Department’s transition.

“Admiral” Rachel Levine, the cross-dressing man-lady and No. 2 health official in the country, unbosomed another big lie on MSNBC on Monday.
“Transgender” kids aren’t mentally ill because they are “trans,” he said, they are mentally ill because they are bullied, and cannot find acceptance.
Levine, whose real name is Richard, wants to “empower” those tortured young souls by permitting them to persist in the false belief that they are the “wrong” gender, and, of course, get “gender-affirming” treatment. That means the “right” to neuter themselves with “sex reassignment surgery,” the medical term for the mutilation of their sex organs.

Ever since Joe Biden hired the cross-dressing pretend woman as the assistant secretary of Health and Human Services, he — Levine — has been pushing the idea that kids can be “trans.”
HHS, for instance, has declared that denying “gender-affirming treatment” to a kid with “gender dysphoria” — the term that describes the false belief that one is the “wrong” gender — is illegal, as The New American reported in April.
Levine, who was married for almost 30 years when he declared himself a woman, reinforced science-denying “transgender” ideology when he spoke with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell.
He claimed that trans kids are going crazy because they’re bullied.
“Well, you know, trans youth are vulnerable, and they suffer significant harassment and bullying, sometimes in schools or their community,” Levine said. “They have more mental health issues, but there’s nothing inherent with being transgender or gender diverse, which would predispose youth to depression or anxiety.”
That, of course, is utterly false, as renowned psychiatrist Dr. Paul McHugh has repeatedly warned.
Continued Levine:
It’s that harassment and bullying. Now they are suffering politically motivated attacks through state actions against these vulnerable transgender youth. This is not based upon data. These actions are politically motivated. And so we really want to base our treatment and affirm and to support and empower these youth, not to limit their participation activities in sports and even limit their ability to get gender-affirmation treatment in their state.
Levine advocates chemically castrating boys and sterilizing girls with puberty blockers, and says that “trans” kids must be stopped before going through the “wrong puberty.”
“The first phase at the young adolescent age is to give what is called a pubertal blocker, to give a medicine to block the progression of puberty, so you don’t go through the wrong puberty,” he said in 2017.
Between 14 and 16 years of age, kids would get “cross-gender hormones.”
Even worse, though, if Levine gets his mitts on your kids, “they never go through the wrong puberty,” he continued:
That way, for a transgender woman, male to female, their voice doesn’t drop, they don’t have hair, they don’t have to have electrolysis. For a transgender man, they don’t have breast development that will need surgery, they don’t have periods, etc.
So you block puberty … and then at the appropriate time send them through the puberty consistent with their gender identity.
Levine, and Biden himself, actually call that “gender-affirming” healthcare.
McHugh says that some men — perhaps Levine is one of them, like Bruce Jenner, who calls himself Caitlyn — dress as women because it arouses them sexually. But most kids with “gender dysphoria” don’t have that problem. Instead, they have “psychosocial” problems.
“Gender dysphoria — the official psychiatric term for feeling oneself to be of the opposite sex — belongs in the family of similarly disordered assumptions about the body, such as anorexia nervosa and body dysmorphic disorder,” McHugh wrote in 2015:
Its treatment should not be directed at the body as with surgery and hormones any more than one treats obesity-fearing anorexic patients with liposuction. The treatment should strive to correct the false, problematic nature of the assumption and to resolve the psychosocial conflicts provoking it. With youngsters, this is best done in family therapy.
But that isn’t happening, he said, because tranny ideologues such as Levine rule the leftist media and the government.
The idea that one’s sex is fluid and a matter open to choice runs unquestioned through our culture and is reflected everywhere in the media, the theater, the classroom, and in many medical clinics. It has taken on cult-like features: its own special lingo, internet chat rooms providing slick answers to new recruits, and clubs for easy access to dresses and styles supporting the sex change. It is doing much damage to families, adolescents, and children and should be confronted as an opinion without biological foundation wherever it emerges.
That truth won’t stop Levine or Biden from pushing “trans” ideology on the country, as the appointment of a sex freak who enjoys “pup play” well shows.

The Biden Collective’s deeply controversial new nuclear waste official once penned an op-ed in defense of an online escort service that was busted for facilitating underage gay prostitution.
“Rentboy.com may or may not have broken the law. I don’t know. But I do know, from the frantic emails filling my inbox, that the raid on its headquarters has thrown many gay, bisexual, and transgender young adults into turmoil as their main source of income has been ripped away due to irresponsible and archaic views of sex work.”
Those are the words of Samuel Brinton, America’s new Deputy Assistant Secretary of Spent (nuclear) Fuel and Waste Disposition, in an op-ed published in the LGBTQ+ magazine The Advocate.

Brinton wrote the defense in response to a 2015 federal raid of the New York offices of Rentboy.com, an online “escort service” that facilitated the trafficking and abuse of boys around the world. The National Pulse examines the case:
“In one case, after an escort agency failed to provide photo identification for an escort, a RENTBOY.COM employee advised the escort agency that he had deleted photographs with the face of the subject escort, but left the advertisement online and left photographs that showed only the escort’s body,” explained the indictment.
“In another case, after a different escort agency refused to provide identification for several escorts who appeared underage, the same RENTBOY.COM employee “suggested to [him] to crop the faces of those super young escorts,” continued the indictment, which also noted that the company never reported the cases to law enforcement agencies.
Concerning posts in Asia, Rentboy “failed to comply with its own standards requiring age verification,” even ignoring “employees [who] complained to RENTBOY.COM management about the quantity of underage escort advertisements.”
“In another email, another RENTBOY.COM employee speaking about the Asia-market ads said “Christ … talk about copyrighted and underage pies! TONS in that area … ALWAYS,” detailed the indictment, which also revealed that company executives never acted on these concerns.
Instead, “RENTBOY.COM employees reviewing Asia advertisements were also told by the defendant JEFFREY HURANT and other RENTBOY.COM managers to apply lesser standards in doing age verification of Asia-market advertisements.”
“As was summarized in one email, “In Asia ok to approve them … unless you see a baby … : ),” continued the indictment.
But Brinton thinks these practices are actually positive and supportive for gay boys.He wrote:
Why do they care? The same reason I do. Because sex work disproportionately affects the LGBT community. Transgender people engage in sex work at a rate 10 times that of cisgender (nontrans) women. And many LGBT youth engage in sex work just to survive. A 2013 Center for American Progress report suggests that LGBT youth are more than three times as likely to have engaged in survival sex.
I am not a person using sex work to survive. I am, however, overwhelmed with messages from GBT young men who are afraid of having to return to their families, where they face mistreatment, and even worse, because the main and most secure connection they had to income through escorting is now gone.”
They are reaching out to me because of my passion for ending conversion therapy, a set of the dangerous and discredited practices linked to severe depression, substance abuse, and even suicide. The connection is horrifying: Many of the young men were forced into conversion therapy by their families — the families to which they may now have to return without a steady income. This makes it my issue.
One of the young men who messaged me said, “I was never harming anyone with the work that I was doing. As cheesy as it sounds, most of the people just wanted a human connection with someone who they could relate to on some basic human level.” Another young man added, “It feels like we had a chance to act with dignity and authenticity for the first time and it was taken away from us.”
They are right. The rent boys weren’t harming anyone. But now these young men might have to return to communities and homes which have rejected who they are. And that’s when the real danger begins.
Brinton believes that the degradation and dangers of underage prostitution are superior to a teen being forced to live with his family who doesn’t approve of his lifestyle. The horror! Imagine that: a teenager might have to rein in his behavior for a few years until he’s able to support himself in a manner other than servicing men for cash (an option that never even seems to cross the depraved Deputy Assistant Secretary’s mind).
I have no doubt Brinton will comport himself in his new role with every bit as much professionalism and competence as the Biden Collective’s othertokenistappointments.

As of June 19th, I now serve my nation as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition in the Office of Nuclear Energy in the Department of Energy.” He attached a photo of himself that was apparently taken in his office; in it, a smirking, lipsticked Brinton, hands on hips, is wearing a belted sleeveless red jumpsuit (or something) with American flag-themed high heels and a chain necklace.
Brinton modestly omits mention of the fact that he is the first canine to serve in the Department of Energy. In a 2016 article in Metro Weekly, he speaks at length about “puppy play” (he is identified only by his first name, but an accompanying photo makes it clear that Sam in the article is Brinton. The new Deputy Assistant Secretary explains: “I actually have trouble when we transition from pup play to having sex. Like, ‘No, I can’t have you whimper like that when we’re having sex,’ because I don’t want to mix that world. It’s interesting because he doesn’t have to come out of pup mode to have me f**k him. I personally have to bring him out of pup perception for me. But then I’m still treating him as a submissive to me.”

It’s funny how Leftists are responsible for the overwhelming majority of the political violence in America today, yet Leftist politicians and officials routinely claim that they’re constantly being harassed by racist, redneck, MAGA hat-wearing yahoos. Brinton tweeted: “Due to the concern of negative and threatening responses like we saw in my previous announcement, including more than a hundred death threats and more vitriol than I could have imagined, I held off announcing my official start until I could be safe and secure in my new role.”

A student who attended his speech at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2017 reported: “Throughout the entire talk, Brinton was open about his experiences, the kinks he partakes in, and the nature of his relationships. He left us with countless anecdotes, like how he enjoys tying up his significant other like a table, and eating his dinner on him while he watches Star Trek.”
In his government work, Brinton makes no secret of who and what he is. According to the bio he provided to the “LGBTQ Religious Archives Network,” “Sam has worn his stilettos to Congress to advise legislators about nuclear policy and to the White House where he advised President Obama and Michelle Obama on LGBT issues.”
However, according to the Washington Examiner, “Brinton also holds a master's degree in nuclear engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and had previously advised former President Donald Trump on nuclear waste matters.” Many would insist that what he does on his own time, however bizarre it may be to many people, has no bearing on whether he is qualified for the position he has been appointed to in the Department of Energy. And he may indeed be a perfectly competent Deputy Assistant Secretary of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition. But the fact is that in human societies and cultures all over the world and throughout human history, such decadence as his personal behavior represents has only been seen in nations that were comfortable, wealthy, overconfident, and ripe for destruction.
It would be naïve to assert that the United States of America at the beginning of the twenty-first century has reached some new level or stage of perversity. This kind of behavior has always been with us. But only rarely has it been flaunted with the gleeful self-confidence Sam Brinton displays, and it is not without reason that such flaunting has come to be associated with the late, decadent stage of once-great nations. Given the race to ruin that the Biden administration is pursuing, Sam Brinton will fit right in.

INDIANAPOLIS(USA Today)— A teacher is fighting for his job after he says the district forced him to resign over its so-called transgender student policy.
John Kluge, the former orchestra teacher at Brownsburg High School in Indiana, said the school district’s requirement that teachers call transgender students by their preferred names, rather than those given at birth, goes against his religious beliefs. The requirement, Kluge said, violates his First Amendment rights.
“I’m being compelled to encourage students in what I believe is something that’s a dangerous lifestyle,” he said. “I’m fine to teach students with other beliefs, but the fact that teachers are being compelled to speak a certain way is the scary thing.”
Advocates for the LGBTQ community say that using a person’s preferred name is an issue of respect, not religion or politics.
“This is not a request for advocacy,” said Sam Brinton, head of advocacy and government affairs for The Trevor Project, a national nonprofit focused on suicide prevention in LGBTQ youth. “This is a request for respect.”
Officials with Brownsburg Community Schools declined to comment on the district’s transgender student policies. A district representative said that Kluge submitted his resignation before the end of the school year and the administration accepted it.
Kluge, 28, said he only submitted a tentative letter of resignation because the district threatened to fire him with three weeks remaining in the school year. Instead, Kluge handed in a letter of resignation with instructions to not submit the letter until May 29, after the school year ended. On May 25, the last student day at Brownsburg Schools, Kluge said he asked to withdraw the letter.
Instead, Kluge said, he was locked out of the district’s email system later that day. Other teachers then told him the district sent out a job posting for a high school orchestra teacher. He had been with the district for four years.
“They’re acting as if I have (resigned), even though I’m pleading, ‘no,'” he said. “I’m not dead yet. I still want to work here.”
The Indiana Family Institute, a conservative nonprofit that promotes religious liberty and opposes same-sex marriage and abortion, has started a letter writing campaign to support Kluge. The group is urging people to email every member of the Brownsburg school board and ask them to save Kluge’s job.
“It appears that the real intolerance at Brownsburg High School lies in the hands of the administration against teachers who hold a sincere faith and a sacrificial love for their students,” the form letter reads in part.
The disagreement between Kluge and the district is over a requirement that teachers call transgender students by their preferred name reflecting the gender with which they identify, rather than the name given to them at birth. Students cannot request this change until they have written consent from a parent and doctor, according to an internal document posted online by the Indiana Family Institute.
A representative for Brownsburg Schools confirmed the question-and-answer guidance had been distributed to employees. It is dated Jan. 3.
Once a student receives the required approvals, their name is changed in the district’s online record keeping system. At that point, the document says teachers are to refer to students by that name.
Kluge said he was uncomfortable with this, feeling that using the preferred name implied agreement with the student’s decision to identify as transgender. Kluge said that even though he doesn’t agree with some of his students’ decisions, he respects them.
“I really do care for all of my students,” he said, “which is why I don’t want to be compelled to speak in such a way that I believe I’ll be encouraging them in something that’s dangerous.”
Instead, Kluge said he reached an agreement with school administration that allowed him to call all students — those who identify as transgender and those who do not — by their last name. Kluge said it seemed like a fine compromise. He did not explain to students why he only used last names this past year.
“I wanted to present an environment where I wasn’t going to push one way or the other,” he said.
A few months ago, Kluge said he was informed that he would not be allowed to use last names only starting next school year. He said the administration did not say why it was making this change.
Jim Bohrer, pastor at Hope Community Church, said Kluge is a well-liked teacher who always has shown respect to all his students. Bohrer’s daughter is in Kluge’s orchestra class.
“He treats them all the same,” Bohrer said. “He cares deeply. This is not an issue of John excluding anyone. This is purely the administration trying to get rid of John for his convictions.”
Bohrer said the name policy is not the only issue community members have with Brownsburg Schools treatment of transgender students. There are also concerns, he said, about transgender students using the bathroom other than the one corresponding to their sex at birth.
“Parents in church have shared concerns about safety issues,” Bohrer said.
Under President Obama, the U.S. Department of Education issued guidance to schools that allowed transgender students to use the bathroom of their choice. That guidance was later rescinded under President Trump.
Connie Duvall withdrew her daughter from Brownsburg High School after the ninth-grader saw a student who was born female but identifies as male use the men’s restroom. Duvall said she spoke to administrators about her concerns that male students could take advantage of the policy to use the women’s restroom but felt she was not taken seriously.
“We totally did not feel our daughter was safe,” Duvall said.
Her daughter now attends a private school.
Kluge said he is not ready to leave Brownsburg Schools. He plans to appeal to the school board to keep his job during its next meeting on June 11.

“Rosaria Champagne Butterfield (born 1962) is a writer, speaker, homemaker, and former tenured professor of English at Syracuse University. Butterfield, who earned her Ph.D. from Ohio State University in English Literature, served in the English Department and Women Studies Program at Syracuse University from 1992 to 2002. During her academic career, she published a book, as well as many scholarly articles. Her academic interest was focused on feminist theory, queer theory and 19th century British literature. She achieved tenure in 1999, the same year that she converted to Christianity.
Butterfield is more widely known today for the autobiography she published, “The Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert: An English Professor’s Journey into the Christian Faith,” in which she tells about her transformation from a postmodern lesbian professor to the wife of a Reformed Presbyterian Church pastor and homeschooling mother. Following her religious conversion to Christianity, Butterfield developed a ministry to college students and frequently speaks in churches and universities about her experience. She has taught and ministered at Geneva College. She now lives in Durham, North Carolina with her husband, Kent Butterfield, and their children
She does not identify herself as “ex-gay” and does not think any Christians should identify themselves as “gay Christians.” She notes that “The job of the adjective is to change the noun.”Butterfield has criticized conversion therapy for contending that the “primary goal of Christianity is to resolve homosexuality through heterosexuality, thus failing to see that repentance and victory over sin are God’s gifts and failing to remember that sons and daughters of the King can be full members of Christ’s body and still struggle with sexual temptation.” Butterfield suggests this is a version of the prosperity gospel.”

EXCERPT: “Southern Baptist leader Russell Moore denounced reparative therapy, saying the controversial treatment that attempts to change a person’s sexual orientation has been “severely counterproductive.” Faithful Christian living demands obedience to biblical teaching, not automatic release from same-sex attraction, said Moore, president of Southern Baptists’Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission. “The utopian idea if you come to Christ and if you go through our program, you’re going to be immediately set free from attraction or anything you’re struggling with, I don’t think that’s a Christian idea,” Moore said. “Faithfulness to Christ means obedience to Christ. It does not necessarily mean that someone’s attractions are going to change.” Some pastors, like John Piper, a respected Minneapolis preacher and author, still encourage the possibility of change for those who have same-sex attractions.”
EXCERPT: I give thanks to God for Rosaria Butterfield’s conversion from unbelieving lesbian activist to faithful Christian witness. I don’t agree, though, with her buy-in to the view that there is a “sin of homophobia” any more than I buy in to the view of “incest-phobia” or “poly[amory]phobia.” Nor do I think she reads Romans 1:24-27 correctly in context when she suggests that Paul viewed homosexual practice as no worse than any other sin. And her category of a “reparative therapy heresy” is uninformed. Reparative therapy is not a “name it, claim it, pray the gay away” form of therapy. Quite the contrary. Nor does it presume that one will never again struggle with sexual temptation. Nor does it contend that becoming heterosexual is “a primary goal of Christianity.” It aims are more modest: To help persons with same-sex attractions to deal with emotional wounds that contributed to the intensity of such attractions. In this it is no different from numerous other valid therapies that seek to help Christians who struggle with depression, anger, insecurity, and various other intense sinful desires.
As I write and speak today, 14 years have elapsed since my queer activist days. I’m a new creature in Christ, and my testimony is still like iodine on starch. I’m sensitive to three unbiblical points of view Christian communities harbor when they address the issue of Christianity and homosexuality. Everywhere I go, I confront all three.
1. The Freudian position. This position states same-sex attraction is a morally neutral and fixed part of the personal makeup and identity of some, that some are “gay Christians” and others are not. It’s true that temptation isn’t sin (though what you do with it may be); but that doesn’t give us biblical license to create an identity out of a temptation pattern. To do so is a recipe for disaster. This position comes directly from Sigmund Freud, who effectually replaced the soul with sexual identity as the singular defining characteristic of humanity. God wants our whole identities, not partitioned ones.
2. The revisionist heresy. This position declares that the Bible’s witness against homosexuality, replete throughout the Old and New Testaments, results from misreadings, mistranslations, and misapplications, and that Scripture doesn’t prohibit monogamous homosexual sexual relations, thereby embracing antinomianism and affirming gay marriage.
3. The reparative therapy heresy. This position contends a primary goal of Christianity is to resolve homosexuality through heterosexuality, thus failing to see that repentance and victory over sin are God’s gifts and failing to remember that sons and daughters of the King can be full members of Christ’s body and still struggle with sexual temptation. This heresy is a modern version of the prosperity gospel. Name it. Claim it. Pray the gay away.”

I was 11 years old when Roe v. Wade (1973) gave women a constitutional right to abortion. My parents told me a story to help me understand this momentous event.
Here was the content: a member of my family, whom I loved, once used her own knitting needles to abort a baby she knew she couldn’t afford to feed.
Here was the meaning: we were practical, hard-working Italians, and nothing was going to hinder us from achieving the American Dream for each and every family member.
This was a story of heroism. The woman was a matriarch who knew how to take control of her own womb, a loving mother who knew poverty and starvation were far worse than death before birth. This was also a story of a nation. Our country was advancing in its high regard for women, leaving the barbaric days of back-alley abortions and welcoming one where medical care came to the aid of heroic women like my beloved relative.
Grip of Old Family Values
This was one of the first times I remember history folding into future and holding me solidly in the grip of family values: we were a progressive family, and even our unschooled ancestors showed the grit and goodness of the progressive ideas we knew were best.
My family member was not a feminist. Although long dead, she would not want to be remembered this way. She was a poor woman abused by her husband and trapped by a life with too many children to feed. I was taught that the right to choose came to the aid of all women, but especially poor ones.
For most of my childhood and early adulthood, the name “Planned Parenthood” conjured feelings of safety and security. The institution represented for me and my family of origin a bedrock of civilization: a woman’s right to liberation from the oppression of bearing a child. As I understood it, because of Roe v. Wade a single mistake wouldn’t result in a lifetime of punishment for women. For as long as I can remember, my parents would designate Planned Parenthood as their end-of-the-year monetary donation.
We believed only third world countries would abandon women without medical solution to terminating pregnancy. Not only did abortion rights secure each person’s free right to consensual sex without impunity—a fundamental right of personhood, we believed—but it made the world a better place for children. Indeed, the sheer fact that the world was overpopulated and that “unwanted” children were subject to poverty and abuse proved abortion was good for both the environment and the family. It also seemed to us that the wrong people kept having babies—and lots of them—while educated people like our family knew to have only one child or two.
Long before I became a self-conscious feminist supporting the worldview of Planned Parenthood, I believed abortion was more than just some “necessary evil.” I believed abortion was a compelling good.
Frankenstein and Jesus
The goodness of abortion followed me through graduate school, when I wrote my dissertation on Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.
In 1818 Shelley, the 17-year-old child wife of poet Percy Shelley and the classically educated daughter of natural philosopher William Godwin and first feminist Mary Wollstonecraft, wrote a novel on a dare. Deeply influenced by natural philosopher and English physician Erasmus Darwin (grandfather of Charles),Frankenstein is about a bachelor who learns how to create life in a laboratory. The protagonist scientist, Victor Frankenstein, is raised by a progressive family, one that protects him from the foolish superstitions of organized Christian religion and affords him the best education in the natural sciences. He’s therefore unafraid to collect body parts from a church graveyard by dismembering bodies. The novel records how night after night he returns to the graveyard and hacks away until he has the bloody parts he needs. It’s base and gruesome work done in the name of higher-minded science. Frankenstein works hard to extract intact internal organs. He skimps on the skin, though, creating a creature whose skin doesn’t stretch to cover all his internal organs. Frankenstein’s “monster,” in spite of having natural science as its mother and receiving the very best Rousseauian education, is literally falling apart at the seams, his internal organs spilling out for the whole world to behold and ridicule.
Like Dr. Deborah Nucatola, senior director of medical services for Planned Parenthood, Dr. Victor Frankenstein understood the need for intact hearts.
Like Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Dr. Victor Frankenstein believed there’s no higher calling on the human body than the donation of tissue for scientific research.
And like both doctors, one fictional and one real, I followed in their footsteps.
Like Victor and Deborah, I wanted to control nature and believed I could with enough hutzpah and smarts.
And then I met Jesus Christ.
But when I was first converted, I did not understand why abortion was a sin.
I remember asking the women in church why Christians condemned abortion and celebrated capital punishment. I never heard a compelling argument.
And then, one day during worship, we sang Psalm 102 and it hit me between the eyes. Here was the line of my undoing: “And peoples yet uncreated shall praise and magnify the LORD” (Ps. 102:18). I got it: abortion is not a right or an entitlement. Abortion steals praise from God by denying image-bearers the opportunity to live through and for him. Abortion despises and attacks and destroys the image of God.
Yes, children must be protected from abuse, but abortion does not accomplish this.
What Could Have Been
Before committing suicide, Victor Frankenstein’s “monster” diagnoses his problem. He laments, “I, the miserable and the abandoned, am an abortion, to be spurned at, and kicked, and trampled on” (emphasis mine).
Frankenstein is an abortion novel. The “monster” declares he is an abortion—a present-tense, walking-and-talking, breathing-and-reading embodiment of a culture that values intact hearts but not the children who need them, and that values the all-cleaned-up Proverbs 31 woman but not the Mary Magdalene who precedes her.
The monster in Frankenstein is me—and you—and my sins are always so much worse than I confess. The wages of sin is death. It is always death—even if medical science promises the wages of sin is life.
I am a Christian now, and a wife and mom as well. All of my children are adopted, and all bore the label “unwanted” by somebody at one time. But their birth mothers loved them even when they could not raise them.
And today, as I reflect on the outrage of Planned Parenthood, I think of my life.
I could have been Dr. Deborah Nucatola. I was groomed to be her. I could have been videotaped pausing between bites of arugula salad and salmon to pontificate on the price of a dead baby’s intact heart and lungs.
Staying for the Long Haul
As I pause today to reflect on the outrage of Planned Parenthood, I think of Frankenstein’s monster. And the monster that I am. And for the life of me, I don’t understand how people like my beloved relative and her unborn child could have been helped apart from God’s people taking her and her kids into their home for long-term, real-life care. She needed more than a word in season. She needed the hands of God.
The worldview that redefines “personhood,” denies the God who created us, despises Jesus—the prophet whose wisdom knows no earthly bounds, the priest whose grace and sacrifice knows no earthly shackles, the king whose power and authority orchestrates the details of every life and every day—is the worldview manifested in the recent SCOTUS decision and the viral Planned Parenthood videos.
It was my worldview not too terribly long ago. And it would be my worldview now—if Jesus and his people hadn’t shown up in my life and stayed for the long haul.
“John Piper has joined hands with Rick Warren in ministry and has proclaimed him theologically sound, we would remind our readers that Warren signed “A Christian Response to ‘A Common Word Between Us and You’” in November 2007. This document says that Muslims and Christians worship the same God and claims that “the future of the world depends on peace between Muslims and Christians.” The statement says, “… we must engage in interfaith dialogue as those who seek each other’s good, for the one God unceasingly seeks our good” (http://www.yale.edu/faith/acw/acw.htm). It was signed by the two major evangelical church growth gurus in America, Rick Warren and Bill Hybels. In this act they joined hands with hundreds of other signatories, including Roman Catholics.”
“When Piper publicly interviewed Rick Warren in 2011, he showed his support for the Purpose Driven pastor’s doctrine when he stated: “At root I think he is theological and doctrinal and sound” (Cecil Andrews, “John Piper Invite to Rick Warren,” Take Heed Ministries, April 3, 2010). This caused much dismay for those who understand the underlying beliefs of “America’s pastor.” Rick Warren is a strong advocate and promoter for contemplative mystics (such as Henri Nouwen) and the spiritual formation movement (the vehicle through which contemplative is entering the Protestant church) (“Saddleback Is a Contemplative Church,” Lighthouse Trails, Jun. 16, 2008). So with John Piper’s embrace of Warren coupled with his apparent acceptance of Richard Foster, Piper students should be asking some prudent questions of their teacher. They should also dismiss the notion that we can distinguish between good and bad contemplative prayer. There is no such thing.”
So said my sister in a phone call shortly after the start of this year’s Passion Conference, taking place now in Atlanta, GA (Jan 1-4). I’m sure she said this with all due respect to Dr. Piper, who has long been looked to as a solid teacher of the Reformed tradition. And yet in recent years, Dr. Piper has gone about giving his stamp of approval to various and sundry teachers, many of them solid and trustworthy, but some of them quite dangerous.
This stamp of approval first reared its ugly head when Dr. Piper brought out a young whippersnapper named Mark Driscoll as his keynote speaker at a Desiring God conference, years ago. In 2006, to be exact. This was the same Driscoll who went on later to shock us with his pornographic divinations and his fascist like handling of church members. And yet, no public rebuking or distancing has gone on, that I know of, between Dr. Piper and his protégé .
Then Rick Warren got Dr. Piper’s stamp of approval at the 2010 Desiring God Conference. Yes, that’s right, Rick Warren. To paraphrase my friend Pastor Bob DeWaay, what made this particular alliance so very shocking was that Dr. Piper, who has long been regarded as one of the faithful few guarding the flock against false teaching was the very one who had opened the pen gate and ushered the wolf (Warren) right into the fold of his Desiring God conference.

So why doesn’t Dr. Piper storm out on the stage like a man on fire and rebuke this madness? Or, he could leave the conference and write an eloquent and heartfelt apology for his part in confusing the flock in his care by knowingly linking with false teachers. I’d be all for that. And yes, I get that he’s just a man, and no man is perfect. I’m not expecting perfection, but what I do desire to see is him seriously taking to heart the admonition in Scripture that not all should teach because those who do are judged more strictly (James 3:1). BUT, if Dr. Piper is unwilling to repent of going around giving false teachers his stamp of approval, then maybe one of our Godly pastors could fly to Minneapolis and wrestle the stamp away from him to keep him from further harming the flock. Just a thought.
Giglio, Chan, Moore and Piper return to Passion from last year and now we have sinfully ecumenical emerging musician David Crowder added to the mix. In closing this, for now, I’ll show you something that gives us real cause for concern in the seeming dangerous drift of Beth Moore and John Piper.
Following are clips from Session 5 of Passion 2012 where we were to enter into the silence to let God speak to us, not only through Scripture, but directly inside of us as well. However, this is language actually straight out of Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism and its crown jewel Contemplative/Centering Prayer (CCP), which is meditation in an altered form of consciousness.
Why would Dr. John Piper, a Calvinist, want his followers exposed to this kind of man-centered, and blatantly false, mystical mumbo jumbo of Foster-Willardism? I wonder, could we actually be witnessing the rise of some kind of a Reformergence? In closing this, for now, you’re probably aware that John Piper has for some reason recently taken it upon himself to begin promoting the pragmatic semi-pelagian (at best) Church Growth Movement ministry of “Protestant” Purpose Driven Pope Rick Warren.
Both John Piper and Rick Warren are promoting the bookCelebration of Disciplineby Quaker mystic Richard Foster, who by following the approach to spirituality he teaches within, is nearly a universalist who is definitely sinfully ecumenical repudiating the Lord’s Protestant Reformers. Here’s what the aformentioned Dr. Gary Gilley has correctly stated concerning Foster’s magnum opus in his excellent series calledMysticism:
Celebration of Discipline alone, not even referencing Foster’s other writings and teachings and ministries, is a virtual encyclopedia of theological error. We would be hard pressed to find in one so-called evangelical volume such a composite of false teaching.
