In this era of deep crisis and division in America, Mike Pence wants to be the Republican nominee for president of the United States in 2024, and he wants you to know that a Pence presidency (The Pencidency, you heard it here first) would be a comforting reassertion of the Republican Party’s familiar role as the placid, country-clubbing controlled opposition, never rocking the boat as the Left sets the agenda politically, economically, culturally, and in every other way.

If you want solid, stolid, poker-faced, self-righteous impotence and me-tooism, Mike Pence is your man. Solid, stolid Pence reinforced that perception Wednesday when he called out Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) for being so un-conservative as to do something actually to resist the Left and stop it in its tracks. Good, solid, colorless Men of the Right such as Mike Pence just don’t do such things.

Pence began by defending DeSantis’ Parental Rights in Education bill, which endeavors to stop the grooming of children in primary schools. The former vice president declared that he “fully supported Florida’s initiative to protect kids and protect parental rights.” He even offered an example of why such a bill was needed: “I was just in Iowa last week where literally there’s a school — the Linn-Mar Community School — [that] will allow a student to get a gender transition plan without parental notification or approval.” That’s ghastly indeed, and it’s good to see Pence speaking out against it. But don’t take that to mean that once The Pencidency was up and running Gray Mike would do anything actually effective.

Pence went on to hit DeSantis for going too far: “I have concerns about the follow-on. Disney stepped into the fray; they lost. The idea of going after their taxing authority. That was beyond the scope of what I, as a conservative, a limited-government Republican, would be prepared to do.” Of course. As everyone knows, being a conservative, limited-government Republican means being a dutiful lapdog for the Left. It never, ever means taking on Leftist power centers such as Disney that are corrupting children on an industrial scale with woke propaganda. Oh, no. That would be Big Government Liberalism.

Pence is now the second Republican presidential hopeful to invoke conservatism in order to justify impotence and inaction in the face of the Left’s increasingly open lust to corrupt our children. On Sunday, former Maryland governor Larry Hogan, who also shares Pence’s fantasies about being the GOP nominee for president in 2024, brought up his alleged conservative credentials to explain his opposition to DeSantis.

Unlike Pence, Hogan came out entirely against the Parental Rights in Education bill but did so for reasons that Pence would find compelling: “I’m a small government, common sense conservative,” Hogan said, “and to me, it sounds like big government and authoritarian, ‘You have to agree with me, and I’ll tell you what you can and can’t do.’ But it’s an issue. It’s not the most important issue. Most people are worried about the economy, inflation, and they’re concerned about crime, but education is one of the things that we’ve got to talk about.”

Related: Pence Claims Trump’s Words on Jan. 6 ‘Endangered Me and My Family’

Pence and Hogan should understand, after all their years in government and especially in light of the Left’s increasing aggressiveness in the culture wars, that passively going along with the Left’s agenda because to do otherwise would somehow be a manifestation of “big government” is not the kind of conservativism that anyone wants. If it proves to be a winning formula for 2024, then the Republican Party is done for, and genuine patriots should abandon the rotting shell.

There is nothing that stands in opposition to small-government principles in acting to protect children from sexualization and gender madness. There is nothing “big government” about acting to preserve parents’ rights to raise their own children without government bureaucrats using taxpayer money to erode those rights. There is nothing about preserving the principle of limited government in taking away special legal perks that alleged entertainers have received from the government once they start behaving as arrogant social engineers and forcing upon children an agenda that most parents find abhorrent.

Mike Pence is yesterday’s man. He stands for a bland conservatism that allows the Left to take charge in all fields and never, ever rocks the boat. That supine behavior was never a good look for Republicans, and in the face of the conflicts in American society today, it should be decisively repudiated once and for all. Mike Pence should give up his quixotic presidential hopes and face reality. He doesn’t have enough presence or personality to become the kind-of conservative voice on CNN or MSNBC, but he’ll find work somewhere.

Why Do Our National Leaders Have Such Sticky Fingers? Mike Pence Finds Classified Documents in His Indiana Home

First Trump, then Biden, and now former Vice President Mike Pence have discovered classified documents in their possession long after their terms in office had ended.

It ain’t rocket science, guys. A document marked “Top Secret,” “Secret,” “Confidential,” “Restricted,” or “Official” can’t be stuffed in a briefcase and taken home. The procedures for handling classified documents are clear, concise, and straightforward. There is no wiggle room. And there are no exceptions for violating the law.

No wonder the Russians and Chinese have most of our secrets.

For our VIPs: The Inevitable Stalemate Over Classified Documents

Now we learn that former Vice President Mike Pence discovered classified documents at his Indiana home. The discovery came about as a result of a search of Pence’s Indiana home and his office at the political advocacy group Advancing American Freedom, following the Biden document imbroglio.

Fox News:

According to his team, Pence informed the National Archives on Jan. 18 of a small number of potential classified documents found in two small boxes. Another two boxes contained copies of vice presidential papers. The National Archives then informed the FBI per standard procedure.

Pence attorney Greg Jacob wrote on Jan. 18 Acting Director Kate Dillon McClure of the White House Liaison Division National Archives and Records Administration to inform her of the papers “containing classified markings.”

After the documents with classified markings were discovered, they were immediately put into a safe, according to the Pence team.

The documents were collected by the FBI at Pence’s home in Carmel, Indiana, on Thursday evening, Jan. 19. Pence was in Washington, D.C. for the annual March for Life when the FBI collected the documents.

It’s not like these guys were fleeing a coup d’etat in the dead of night, leaving Washington with only the clothes are their backs. They all had a couple of months to prepare for their departure, so why these searches couldn’t have been conducted between the election and the inauguration of the next president doesn’t make sense.

Ultimately, the searches should have been unnecessary. Whether the marked documents were taken to make an officeholder’s memoirs more authentic or whether they thought it was really cool to possess important, secret documents to show their friends after they were out of office is immaterial. It’s mind-blowing that no matter the reason, these documents were negligently mishandled, and the primaries involved — Pence, Trump, and Biden — should all be punished.

Classified Docs Found at Mike Pence’s Home Raise New Questions

BY STEVE BYAS

Greg Jacob, the custodian of Pence’s White House records, has revealed that former Vice President Mike Pence had a small number of classified documents at his home in Indiana, and after Pence notified the National Archives, FBI agents were sent to retrieve them on January 19.

Pence had previously said that he had not brought classified documents home with him after leaving the vice presidency.

“The transfer was facilitated by the Vice President’s personal attorney, who has experience in handling classified documents,” wrote Jacob in a letter to the National Archives on January 22.

Pence notified the National Archives that he had found the documents at his residence on January 16. According to Jacob, Pence had been unaware of the documents being at his house until then. But after he heard of the discovery of classified documents at President Joe Biden’s personal residence, Pence sought the assistance of personal counsel to make sure no such documents existed at his home, as well. It was not revealed what the subject matter of the classified documents in Pence’s possession was.

It is also not clear what was in the classified documents found at former President Donald Trump’s Florida residence, but press reports have indicated that documents in possession of President Biden from his days as vice president include documents having to do with Ukraine. Biden famously was taped bragging to the Council on Foreign Relations that he had gotten a prosecutor in Ukraine fired — a prosecutor, it should be noted, who was investigating a company in Ukraine connected to his son, Hunter. Hunter Biden was reportedly making about $50,000 per month while sitting on the board of Ukrainian energy concern Burisma Holdings.

“This discovery by Pence’s attorney is a very interesting reinforcement of the contrast between how Biden & Pence are properly cooperating and returning documents versus Trump stealing them, hiding them, and obstructing justice into their return,” said David Brock, president of the Biden-allied group Facts First USA. Brock’s caustic remarks no doubt are a signal as to how the Left will spin the Pence revelations to help Biden and hurt Trump.

On the other hand, the chair of the House Oversight Committee, Representative James Comer (R-Ky.), showed no immediate indication that he would back off his investigations in the aftermath of the Pence revelations.

“Former Vice President Mike Pence reached out today about classified documents found at his home in Indiana,” Comer said. “He has agreed to fully cooperate with congressional oversight and any questions we have about the matter. Former Vice President Pence’s transparency stands in stark contrast to Biden's White House staff who continue to withhold information from Congress and the American people.”

Representative Mike Turner (R-Ohio), the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said he planned to “ask for the same intelligence review and damage assessment” that he had requested regarding Biden, “to see if there are any national security concerns.”

Jacob appeared to stress Pence’s cooperation in his letter to the National Archives. “I expressed to you my expectation that the substantial majority of the documents in the four boxes would, upon examination, be found to be personal copies of other records that were previously transmitted to the Archives.”

“All of the documents within the boxes, and within the sealed envelopes, remain in the exact place and order in which they were discovered on January 16. The Vice President is not waiving any privileges pertaining to the clearly labeled materials.”

Pence asked for help “after it became public that documents with classified markings were found in President Joe Biden’s Wilmington residence.”

Meanwhile, six more classified documents were found during the search of President Biden’s home in Delaware on Friday.

After the Pence revelations, commentators such as Clay Travis and Buck Sexton (who took over the national radio show of the late Rush Limbaugh) speculated that former presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush might also be in possession of classified documents.

Regardless, the revelation of documents in the possession of former vice presidents Biden and Pence raises other questions. First, could the National Archives have really been unaware of such documents in the hands of Biden and Pence from their days in the vice-presidential office, but then have so much supposed concern about classified documents at the Florida home of former President Trump? After all, whatever documents were at Trump’s home, they were clearly more safely secured than whatever documents Biden had at his home — in the garage, of all places! It is hard to imagine that the average person would put sensitive and important documents of his own in the garage rather than in a safe.

In addition to that, as a former president, Trump could have declassified — and he has claimed he did — those documents before he left office and before he took them to Mar-a-Lago. On the other hand, neither Pence nor Biden had any legal authority to take possession of classified documents, let alone declassify them.

The Pence revelations — coupled with the Biden revelations — demonstrate the rank hypocrisy of the Left with their cheering on a high-profile raid on Trump’s private residence and their general defense of Biden. And then there is the hypocrisy of Biden himself, who told 60 Minutes that Trump’s possession of classified documents was “irresponsible.” Despite that, Biden has expressed that he has no regrets about his own keeping of documents.

There is no doubt that the U.S. government over-classifies documents. However, there are still times when documents need to remain classified for the protection of the country. But Biden still possesses documents from the time he was in the U.S. Senate!

The Pence revelations will no doubt take some of the heat off Biden, but considering that nothing was done to Hillary Clinton and her 30,000 government emails that she hosted on a private server — many of which she simply deleted from her laptop — one can safely predict that nothing will be done to either Pence or Biden over their carelessness.

Surely, one would hope there will be some reform to the entire process of the transfer of classified documents once a person leaves public office — or in the case of Hillary Clinton, while in office — but don’t count on it. Not unless it would give the Left some benefit.

Pence Claims Trump’s Words on Jan. 6 ‘Endangered Me and My Family’

When did Mike Pence morph into Mitt Romney? The formerly sane vice president has now joined the likes of Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger in banging the tattered Jan. 6 “insurrection” drum, trying to stoke hatred of Donald Trump and provoke legal action against him over this supposed effort to destroy “our democracy” that lacked a leader, advance planning, weapons, and everything else you might expect an attempt to overthrow the government to have.

Pence is making the media rounds promoting his new memoir, So Help Me God, which is sure to release a megaton of pious posturing and hypocrisy into the atmosphere; on Sunday, ABC’s World News Tonight released portions of an interview, showing that Pence is going all-in on echoing talking points that Leftists use with increasing frequency to silence and discredit patriots.

Pence told ABC’s David Muir that Donald Trump engaged in “reckless” rhetoric on that fateful day and he “endangered me and my family and everyone at the Capitol.” This came when Muir “referenced the former president’s tweet as violent protesters stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, accusing Pence of not having the ‘courage to do what he should have done’ with regard to certifying President Joe Biden’s electoral victory in Congress in his capacity as president of the Senate.”

Pence told Muir: “It angered me, but I turned to my daughter, who was standing nearby, and I said, ‘It doesn’t take courage to break the law, it takes courage to uphold the law.’ The president’s words were reckless. It was clear he decided to be part of the problem. The president’s words that day at the rally endangered me and my family and everyone at the Capitol building.” This was just feeding the Jan. 6 mythology of a mob of violent, crazed MAGA protestors, stirred into a frenzy by Trump, storming the Capitol. Like the Jan. 6 Committee, Pence ignores the fact that Trump told protestors to proceed “peacefully and patriotically.”

Even worse, Pence takes Trump’s critical statement, that he lacked the “courage to do what he should have done,” as incitement to violence, endangering him and his family. This is an extremely common Leftist talking point: a patriot says something critical about a Leftist, no matter how mild, and then the Leftist claims that he or she has been inundated with death threats as a result. This is both a deflection from the fact that the Left is responsible for the overwhelming majority of the political violence in this country and an attempt to reinforce the Biden regime’s false narrative that “white supremacists” and “right-wing extremists” constitute the greatest terror threat the nation faces today.

For Pence to aid and abet the propagation of the myth that conservative speech equals violence is the height of irresponsibility. The Left’s long-term goal in propagating this myth is to silence dissent altogether, which would include silencing Mike Pence as well, unless he continues on his present trajectory and comes out as transgender or something tomorrow, publishing a new memoir called So Help Me Gaia.

If Mike Pence was in danger on Jan. 6 and there were angry protestors shouting “Hang Mike Pence,” he wasn’t in danger because Trump had tweeted that he lacked courage. Pence is also echoing discredited witness Cassidy Hutchinson’s claim that Trump said Pence “deserved” the chants, which Trump heatedly denied saying. The Jan. 6 stitch-up is an elaborate exercise in trying to fabricate an act of treason and pin it on Trump. It should be beneath Mike Pence to go along with the charade.

But of course, Pence made his choice long ago; he said on Jan. 4, 2021: “I promise you, come this Wednesday, we’ll have our day in Congress. We’ll hear the objections. We’ll hear the evidence.” Yet just two days later, without explanation, he was singing a very different tune. And now this. The establishment media is delighted and is, of course, giving Pence’s statements big play, but they’re unlikely to convince anyone who hasn’t already fallen for their Jan. 6 melodrama.

What Pence himself is getting out of all this is unclear. Maybe he thinks he can become the Romney/Cheney Republicans’ choice for president in 2024. Given how the 2022 elections went, he could conceivably play that game all the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. But it’s much more likely that he, like so many other Republicans, would just be cast to play the Washington Generals facing the Democrats’ Harlem Globetrotters.

Parler Removes Post by Attorney Lin Wood Seemingly Calling for Execution of VP Mike Pence

It seems that even the “free speech” social network Parler has its limits.

The social network that has attracted scores of conservative commentators because of its commitment to free speech has taken down several posts from Trump affiliate Lin Wood, according to a report in Mediaite.

In one of the posts removed from the social media platform, Wood called for the execution of Vice President Mike Pence.

In a statement to Mediaite, Parler chief executive John Matze confirmed that the service had taken action against Wood’s posts to the platform.

“Yes, some of his parleys that violated our rules were taken down,” Matze told Mediaite. “Including the ones you are talking about.”

The move from Parler is significant because it would mark one of the first instances of a high profile conservative figure having their content removed from the service.

Parler, despite its reputation as a social platform dedicated to free speech, does have some rules governing content.

And, as Mediaite flagged, the posts from Wood likely ran afoul of a rule in the company’s terms of service that states “reported parleys, comments, or messages sent using our service will be deemed a violation of these Guidelines if they contain: an explicit or implicit encouragement to use violence, or to commit a lawless action, such that: (a) the Parleyer intends his or her speech to result in the use of violence or lawless action, and (b) the imminent use of violence or lawless action is the likely result of the parley, comment, or message.”

Wood, whose account remains active on Parler, had his Twitter account suspended on Thursday, as Forbes reported at the time.

Meanwhile, the incitements to execute Pence seem to have been the animating factor for at least some of the rioters who stormed the Capitol building on Wednesday. Reuters Photo News Editor Jim Bourg tweeted about hearing at least three different rioters hoping to “find Vice President Mike Pence and execute him by hanging him from a Capitol Hill tree as a traitor.”

Richard Grenell, the U.S. Ambassador to Germany, slammed Democrat presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg’s recent attacks on Vice President Mike Pence, likening the homosexual mayor’s conduct to that of Jussie Smollett.
Grenell, who is also gay, took issue with Buttigieg’s incendiary targeting of Pence over his Christian faith and supposed anti-LGBT positions, asserting that the vice president and his wife have always treated Grenell and his partner with nothing but kindness and respect.
“Mayor Pete has been pushing this hate hoax along the lines of Jussie Smollett for a very long time now – several weeks – and I find it really ironic that Mayor Pete stayed silent about this so-called hate hoax on him and others during 2015, 2016, 2017, when Mike Pence was governor,” Grenell told Fox host Martha MacCallum. “It’s ironic that right about now when he’s starting his fundraising apparatus to run for president, he comes up with this idea and this attack.”
“One of the things that really bothers me about this attack is that Mike Pence is a friend of mine. Mike and Karen are great people, they’re Godly people, they’re followers of Christ. They don’t have hate in their heart for anyone. They know my partner, they have accepted us.”
“You asked me, do we agree philosophically on every single issue? No. I don’t agree philosophically with my hero Dietrich Bonhoeffer on everything, I don’t agree with my partner on everything,” Grenell continued. “The gay community used to be the community pushing tolerance and diversity; we were the ones that were saying everyone should be able to accept and love each other. Now suddenly there’s a whole community of people demanding we all think alike.”
Grenell also pointed out that Pence has always spoken highly of Buttigieg, including when both held public office in the state of Indiana, as governor and as mayor of South Bend, respectively.
“Let me just say one more thing – when Mayor Pete came out, the vice president complimented him and said he holds him in high regard,” Grenell said. “The vice president, or then-governor, has said nothing but positive things about Mayor Pete. I think this is a total hate hoax and I think it’s outrageous.”

VP MIKE PENCE SWEARS IN OPENLY HOMOSEXUAL AMBASSADOR TO GERMANY WITH GAY “PARTNER” AT SIDE

VP MIKE PENCE SWEARS IN OPENLY HOMOSEXUAL AMBASSADOR TO GERMANY WITH GAY “PARTNER” AT SIDE
BY HEATHER CLARK
republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, and research purposes:
WASHINGTON — Vice President Mike Pence, a professing evangelical, swore in openly homosexual Richard Grenell as U.S. ambassador to Germany on Thursday, with the man’s partner standing by his side.
“Ric, I know you’ve got a lot of friends from many years here, but most importantly, you’ve got people that you cherish, and your family. I want to acknowledge your mother Judi, who’s with us today; your brothers, Jeff and Brad; your partner, Matt Lashey; and his parents, Dave and Nancy; and many others,” he said.
Lashey held the Bible while Grenell placed his hand upon it and repeated the oath, ending with “so help me God.”
Pence praised Grenell prior to administering the oath, which he said was his “great honor,” and told those gathered that President Trump also thinks highly of him.
“Those of you may have noticed that on his first day in the job, he joined President Trump and myself to welcome German Chancellor Angela Merkel to the White House for discussions on strengthening the historic partnership between our two nations,” he said.
“On that day, President Trump called you an ‘outstanding man,’ who will do a great job as our ambassador to Germany. And everyone gathered here, and people across this country, share that confidence and conviction,” Pence stated.
Grenell, formerly a U.N. spokesman and spokesman for 2012 Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, also delivered brief remarks, thanking the Trump administration for having faith in him, and acknowledging his mother and partner.
“Obviously, I have to thank my mom, who has been a great support through this whole time, and of course, Matt, who is—as everybody knows, if you know him–the world’s greatest person. So thank you for all of your support,” he said.
“Thank you, Mr. Vice President, and thank you, President Trump, for the faith that you both have put in me,” Grenell continued. “I will not let you down. And I’m ready to work hard.”
As previously reported, while a number of homosexual advocates have been opposed to Pence in claiming that he is anti-homosexual, Pence defended the Trump administration in February 2017 in its decision to retain an Obama-era order banning groups that contract with the federal government from “discriminating” against homosexuals and transgenders in their business or non-profit organization.
“I think throughout the campaign, President Trump made it clear that discrimination would have no place in our administration,” Pence said during an interview on ABC’s “This Week,” according to a transcript of the discussion. “He was the very first Republican nominee to mention the LGBTQ community at our Republican National Convention and was applauded for it. And I was there applauding with him.”
He also rejected reports about his beliefs regarding “conversion therapy” as being “fake news” this past February, as he cheered openly homosexual figure skater Adam Rippon in his Olympic quest.
“@Adaripp I want you to know we are FOR YOU,” he wrote (caps in original.) “Don’t let fake news distract you. I am proud of you and ALL OF OUR GREAT athletes and my only hope for you and all of #TeamUSA is to bring home the gold. Go get ‘em!”
Proverbs 14:34 states, “Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.”
Proverbs 28:4 also says, “They that forsake the Law praise the wicked, but such as keep the Law contend with them.”

largest mosque in southeast Asia that can accommodate 200,000
worshipers, is the same one President Obama and first lady Michelle
Obama visited during Obama’s 2010 trip to the world’s most populous
Muslim country.
As is custom, Pence removed his shoes while wife Karen Pence and daughters Audrey and Charlotte also donned headscarves.
The family met Grand Imam Haji
Nasaruddin Umar and other officials, toured the prayer hall and saw how
the five-times-a-day call to prayer is done.

Pence then joined and spoke at a
closed-door interfaith dialogue with representatives from Christianity,
Buddhism, Confucianism, Hinduism and Islam.
At Merdeka Palace remarks with
Indonesian President Joko Widodo before the mosque tour, Pence said
President Trump “sent me here as a sign of the high value the United
States places on our strategic partnership with Indonesia.”
“As the second and third
largest democracies in the world, our two countries share many common
values — including freedom, the rule of law, human rights, and religious
diversity,” he said. “The United States is proud to partner with
Indonesia to promote and protect these values, the birthright of all
people.”
Pence talked about multiple
areas of cooperation, including leveling the playing field “to ensure
that American exporters can fully participate in the Indonesia market,
the same freedom that Indonesia exporters have had in many sectors in
the United States for many years.”
“The United States is also
proud to be one of Indonesia’s oldest and most engaged defense partners.
And under President Trump we are firmly committed to continuing to
collaborate on the security of both of our peoples. A stronger defense
partnership will serve us well as we confront the various security
threats and challenges that we now face. And of course, one of the
greatest threats we face is the rise and spread of terrorism,” he added.
“…Finally, with President
Trump’s leadership, the United States intends to deepen our cultural
ties with the nation and the good people of Indonesia. Later today I’m
greatly humbled to have the privilege to visit Indonesia’s national
mosque, where I’ll have the opportunity to speak with leaders of many
faiths. And, Mr. President, I’m very much looking forward to that visit
and that honor.”
Pence noted that “the largest
majority Muslim country, Indonesia’s tradition of moderate Islam,
frankly, is an inspiration to the world.”

“In your nation, as in mine,
religion unifies — it doesn’t divide. It gives us hope for a brighter
future, and we are all grateful for the great inspiration that Indonesia
provides for the world,” the vice president added. “Rest assured, under
President Trump, the United States welcomes all who share our values
and strive for that brighter future.”…

Trump Announces Indiana Gov. Mike Pence,

Who Backed Down on Religious Freedom Act,

as Running Mate

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has announced that he has selected Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate, and is set to formally introduce Pence during a news conference on Saturday.
“I am pleased to announce that I have chosen Governor Mike Pence as my vice presidential running mate,” Trump posted to social media on Friday morning.
On Thursday night, Trump told Fox News host Greta Van Susteren that he hadn’t yet decided for sure who he would select after she noted that reports revealed Pence had been chosen.
“I haven’t made my final, final decision,” he stated. “I mean, I’ve got three people [in mind] that are fantastic. I think Newt (Gingrich) is a fantastic person. I think Chris Christie is a fantastic person. [He’s] been a friend of mine for 15 years; just a fantastic person. And there’s Mike, and Mike has done a great job as governor of Indiana. You look at the numbers, and it’s been great—he’s done really a fantastic job. But I haven’t made a final, final decision.”
He advised soon after at a fundraiser that same evening that he was “ready to announce,” according to an event attendee. Trump has postponed his formal press conference due to the terror attack in France.
Pence is known for being at the center of controversy last year when he signed into law the state’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act. The bill was meant to mirror the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which was signed into law in the 1990’s by then-President Bill Clinton.
However, homosexual activists and advocates soon rose up against Pence, asserting that the bill made provision for Christians and others to discriminate against homosexuals.
While Pence said that the bill had been “grossly misconstrued” by homosexual activists and the media and made to be an issue about homosexuality rather than a response to the Hobby Lobby contraceptive decision, he said that the “mischaracterization” now “might make it necessary … to clarify the law through legislation.”
Therefore, lawmakers proposed a clarification to the bill that banned business owners from declining to fulfill orders for homosexual ceremonies, which Pence promptly signed. His signature disappointed evangelicals, especially since Pence professes to be a Christian.
“Christian bakers, florists and photographers … no longer have the benefit of Indiana law to help protect them from being forced by the government to participate in a homosexual wedding,” lamented Eric Miller, founder and executive director of Advance America.
“It gives the government a new weapon against individual citizens who are merely exercising freedoms that Americans were guaranteed from the founding of this country,” said Senior Counsel Kristen Waggoner. “Surrendering to deception and economic blackmail never results in good policy.”
“If a Christian vendor can be forced to collaborate with an unmitigated evil, like assisting with a homosexual marriage, then the law and religious freedom has no meaning,” Red State commented. “In Burwell v. Hobby Lobby, the Supreme Court acknowledged that even a closely held corporation cannot be compelled to violate its religious beliefs. Why private citizens should not have the same rights, and be able to enforce those rights when harassed and bullied … is a mystery.”
Pence, who grew up Roman Catholic and now identifies as evangelical, has been considered to have a pro-life record, recently signing into law a bill that bans aborting children with disabilities, but allows abortions for other reasons.
In December, Pence posted to social media that he disagreed with Trump’s plan to place a temporary ban on Muslim immigrants.
“Calls to ban Muslims from entering the U.S. are offensive and unconstitutional,” he wrote.
However, Pence shrugged off his differences with Trump on Tuesday, remarking that he doesn’t align perfectly with any politician.
“Look, I served in Congress for 12 years. I’ve been a governor for three and a half years. I haven’t agreed with every one of my Republican colleagues or Democrat colleagues on every issue,” he told reporters. “But I’m supporting Donald Trump because we need change in this country, and I believe he represents the kind of strong leadership at home and abroad that will, to borrow a phrase, make America great again.”

MIKE PENCE MAY BRING DOWN TRUMP FOR BEING WEAK WHEN THE GOING GETS ROUGH

IS PENCE STILL JUST A CATHOLIC SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIOR?

Donald Trump, Mike Pence

Mike Pence Makes A Good Match For Trump

A veep nod would parachute Pence out of facing the wrath of voters he’s screwed. Good for him. Not so good for Trump or the country.

Gossip, bolstered by in-person meetings and fundraisers all week, says Donald Trump will pick Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate. He’s tweeted he’ll announce it Friday morning at 11 a.m.
Pence is a perfect political partner for Donald Trump. Like Trump, Pence is a political has-been who betrayed people who trusted him. Once a rising conservative star who himself considered, and was well-positioned to earn, a run for the presidency, as governor Pence traded his integrity for mere hopes of short-term political gain. All he got was angry constituents, a 23-point drop in his public approval rating, and a 2016 gubernatorial re-election bid he’ll be lucky to win even though nobody knows his opponent.
A veep nod would parachute Pence out of facing the wrath of voters he’s screwed. Good for him. Not so good for the country or Trump’s electoral chances.

Trump Can Control Pence

Unlike Newt Gingrich, another potential Trump veep who would help check Trump’s disastrous hip-shooting, Pence is easy to manipulate. LGBT activists proved that by turning Indiana into a bellwether for the nation’s late religious liberty capitulation. They morphed an anodyne, do-little religious liberty bill into special legal protections for gay and transgender people inside one of the nation’s most conservative states during the 2015 Religious Freedom Restoration Act battle. Indiana was the first state to fall prey in a big way to the new breed of anti-religion, anti-speech activists using gay and trans people to gut the U.S. Constitution.
Pence not only blinked, he practically got on his knees and begged a tiny minority group whose adherents will never vote for him or his party to stop economically blackmailing his state into abrogating the First Amendment. That’s not what leaders do; that’s what cowards do. It’s a major reason only six in ten Hoosier Republicans support him, and why many refused to vote for him in this spring’s primary as an expression of disgust with his lack of effective leadership while in office.
This would also be a liability for Trump’s mega-brand as the anti-PC candidate, because Pence has shown political correctness owns him. Maybe that’s a selling point for pro-PC voters — except are there any (outside of the media and college campuses)?

Pence Doubles Down On Trump’s Weaknesses With Conservatives

It might seem Pence would be a good pick to shore up Trump’s obvious lack of conservative policy ideas or instincts, as the New York Times suggested today: “Among Mr. Trump’s advisers, Mr. Pence is seen as the lowest-risk option: A stolid if unspectacular choice, helpful for locking up conservative votes and perhaps boosting Mr. Trump’s appeal across the Midwest.”
Politico’s reporter had to have been smoking something when writing this summary that is essentially wrong on all counts: “Pence brings a number of strengths to the GOP ticket. He can point to a conservative economic record — he cut the corporate income tax rate, the individual income tax rate and eliminated the estate tax in Indiana — and would give Trump some needed cover on social issues. Many social conservatives who flocked to Ted Cruz, and remain wary of Trump’s past support for gay marriage and abortion rights, would find Pence an attractive addition to the ticket.”
Yet it’s actually the opposite. For one, Pence’s tax cuts are so tiny — worth something slightly above $50 per year to someone making the state median income — that Illinois residents next door typically pay less. Pence’s record of capitulations as governor, especially on “social issues,” actually feed Trump’s weaknesses with Republican voters. Since I’m a Hoosier (thanks to Mitch Daniels, natch), I’ve spent some time over Pence’s lackluster term detailing his many missteps. They seem to have stemmed largely from an interest in using the governor’s mansion as a stepping stone towards his own White House run rather than a statesman’s interest in building upon Daniels’ well-regarded reforms to better serve Indiana’s people.
Pence’s case to Hoosiers for another four years has been basically the same as Trump’s to national voters: “The alternative is worse.” He can’t point to any significant policy or outcome victories over his past four years, so he’s resorted to offering voters more entitlement programs on a smaller scale and slower time frame than Democrats propose. Just recently Pence reversed himself, for example, on expanding a federalized preschool program in what was clearly just frightened vote-pandering. Pence had said he wanted to wait until the data was in from an in-state pilot program. But we don’t need data when there are votes to buy!
Besides the nation-reverberating RFRA capitulation, Pence also presided over the nation’s first big Common Core bait ‘n switch. He promised Hoosiers, who were the first in the nation to get a repeal bill across the finish line (with no help from him), that he would ensure we ended up with the nation’s best academic benchmarks. Instead, we ended up with watered-down Common Core.
Schools aren’t even buying different textbooks, and the state is using Common Core tests to measure what the governor keeps insisting is “not Common Core.” Independent reviewers and state board of education members he appointed told him to his face and in detailed analyses he had requested that the whole rewrite was a charade. He ignored them, did what the educrats told him despite massive public protests, then went on national television to brag about his deceptive betrayal.
Hoosiers have not been fooled, and that’s another reason Pence has bad numbers with Republicans. Republican voters hate Common Core, and that’s why Trump keeps insisting he’ll repeal it (which he can’t, because it’s not a federal law).

Like Trump, Pence Loves Big Government

Because he capitulated to the LGBT lobby too slowly for their taste, Pence has a record for “conservatism” in the media, but they just mean “anti-gay.” Another signature achievement that makes Pence a perfect running mate for a man who thinks health care is one of the top three functions of the federal government is Pence’s unnecessary expansion of Obamacare.
As I wrote last year, “284,000 of the 350,000 uninsured people whom [Pence’s health] plan will scoop into the arms of already overburdened taxpayers are able-bodied, childless adults. Apparently it’s enough to dub yourself ‘conservative’ and let others pay the tab for believing it.” Despite promises he wanted everyone to have “skin in the game,” a third of participants in the year-old program pay nothing. Not even $1.
Pence is also a big fan of centralized economic planning. Under his administration, Indiana has ramped up its network of databases aimed at tracking citizens in order to take more life decisions away from them, and forced local cities into regional economic planning that has government picking winners and losers. Again, this is a great match for Trump, who in his real estate deals has leveraged the heck out of government relationships, tilting the playing field in his favor. But it doubles down on his weaknesses with the conservative base voters a Pence pick is designed to shore up.

Does Anyone Really Like Mike Pence?

Pence is not appealing to moderates. In Indiana, the moderate business types are upset with him because they also think he handled the RFRA fiasco badly. Not because he capitulated, but because he did it so awkwardly. They’d rather not be talking about trans bathrooms at all. The moderate mom types are upset with him over the state’s testing and Common Core regimes, and all the “mean” social issues.
So all he really has left are base voters, whom he alienated by betraying them when the chips were down on RFRA and Common Core while offering them no major wins in other areas such as: economic deregulation, school choice expansions (Indiana’s programs, which began under Daniels, are overregulated and underfunded), reformed occupational licensing, actual health reform, rejecting federal funds in myriad areas it invites federal overreach, or overhauling our sclerotic state bureaucracy.
So it’s not really clear on the issues how choosing Pence is a win for Trump or the country. Despite all this, I think he’s a fitting vice presidential pick for Trump, because it would prove another bit of gossip: That Trump is all about show, not substance. He’s about the meme, the message, not the man underneath. That’s exactly the way Pence has conducted his governorship. And look where it’s getting him!

5 Things to Know About Mike Pence

EXCERPTS:
1. Catholic Then Evangelical-Pence was raised in the Roman Catholic Church and attended private schools, belonging to what he once described as a large Irish family that celebrated the 1960 election of Democrat John F. Kennedy. In an interview with CBN in 2010 while still a member of Congress, Pence explained that he had a deep spiritual conversion in college that eventually led him to become an evangelical.
2. Once Endorsed Ted Cruz for President-Initially during the 2016 Republican primary season Pence officially endorsed not Trump but rather U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas.
3. A Pioneer Opponent of Common Core-As governor of Indiana, Pence is credited with being the first state executive to sign legislation to reverse the controversial Common Core State Standards. As the IndyStar reported in March 2014, while the bill Pence signed did officially reverse Common Core, the change was not a complete one.
4. Pro-Life Record-Pence has been known as a staunch supporter of the pro-life movement. While in Congress he championed the effort to defund Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
5. Religious Liberty Legislation-While Governor of Indiana, Pence signed into law the state’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act, garnering much backlash from LGBT and progressive groups. Later, though, Pence caved to pressure from liberal groups and approved a “fix” that undermined the religious freedom protections in the bill by taking away the rights of business owners to bring religious freedom violations before a court. Pence was criticized by religious freedom advocates for the move.

Mike Pence’s religion

Time for my second supplemental post on Mike Pence. You can read the original Indianapolis Monthly profile here, and near the end of it I describe asking Pence for some specifics about his personal faith. It’s a fair and vital question for two reasons: because Pence comes with a fascinating (and slightly messy) religious past; and because that past continues to shape every choice he makes. Yet all Pence would say to me is “I’m a pretty ordinary Christian.” He even ducked my question about where he goes to church, and I think it’s worth comparing that vagueness to some of his older answers about his faith. Indeed, as Pence has become more prominent, he’s also become more committed to saying absolutely nothing of interest — even on a topic about which he’d presumably want to share.
It wasn’t always this way. In 1994, the Indianapolis Business Journal published a terrific profile of the 35-year-old Pence. There, he described his faith quite openly: “I made a commitment to Christ. I’m a born-again, evangelical Catholic.” You don’t see that combo every day, even in Indiana, but the Journal had caught Pence at a time when he was oscillating between his upbringing and his evangelical faith. Pence’s parents raised their children Catholic, and Pence served as an altar boy and went to a parochial school. In college, however, he fell in with a nondenominational student fellowship group — he wouldn’t tell me which one — and made his “commitment to Christ.” That didn’t end his commitment to Catholicism, and when Pence graduated in 1981 he worked as a full-time Catholic youth minister and even applied to D.C.’s Catholic University. The plan was to become a priest, he told the Journal, and while it didn’t work out Pence was still attending mass in the late ’80s, when met his wife at Indy’s St. Thomas Aquinas.
At some point in the mid ’90s, Pence and his young family switched to an evangelical mega church. (In 1995, he told the Indianapolis Star that they attended the city’s Grace Evangelical Church.) Whatever the route, though, the destination is pretty clear: Pence’s evangelical faith has informed every aspect of his political career. Here are a few of many, many examples, drawn from his early years in Congress:
  • During the 2000 election, the Star described Pence’s debate with Democrat Bob Rock: “Pence, who said he attends an evangelical Christian church, asked Rock, a Catholic, if he would support Richard Gephardt as speaker of the House if the Democrats gain control, even though Gephardt supports abortion rights. ‘I would never support him on the issue of abortion,’ said Rock. ‘I am as pro-life as you are and that is not an issue in this campaign.'”
  • In 2001, the newly-elected Pence talked to The Hill about his marriage: “He never dines alone with a woman who is not his wife. And when his wife is absent, he never attends events where alcohol flows. ‘If there’s alcohol being served and people are being loose, I want to have the best-looking brunette in the room standing next to me,’ Pence said. As it happens, Pence frequently turns down invitations for drinks or dinner from male colleagues. ‘It’s about building a zone around your marriage,’ he observed.”
  • In 2002, Pence talked to Congressional Quarterly about Israel: “‘My support for Israel stems largely from my personal faith,’ Pence said in an interview March 18. ‘In the Bible, God promises Abraham, “Those who bless you I will bless, and those who curse you I will curse.” So, in some way, I don’t fully understand [U.S. policy]. I believe our own national security is tied to our willingness to stand with the people of Israel.'”
  • In 2003, Pence talked to Human Events about whether or not he could block Medicare Part D: “I don’t know, but God has surprised me a few times since I got here, and I hope He’ll surprise me again.”
Today, there’s no question that Pence’s religion continues to shape Pence’s politics. Andrew Phipps, a Hoosier politico who also hosts gospel TV and radio shows, put it to me this way: “I don’t think Mike will ever forsake his core values — the sanctity of life, traditional marriage, and our great heritage of faith, family, and freedom.”
What has changed is Pence’s willingness to discuss just what makes up that religion. This has always struck me as somewhat shady — in a case like Pence’s, it’s essentially a politician who refuses to disclose his politics. Then again, the pattern now applies to almost every subject with Pence. He used to be a frank and fascinating interview. In 1994, he described his pre-Reagan politics like this: “[Carter] was a good Christian. Beyond that, there was a sense of, ‘Why would you elect a movie star?'” In 1995, he openly criticized Rush Limbaugh: “Conservative media, including Rush, have a tremendous blind spot when it comes to making a distinction between differences in public policy and personal differences.”
Someone might be able to get Pence to say things this detailed and interesting today, but I sure couldn’t. Instead, I got a guy — a guy who will likely run for president in 2016 or 2020 —  who did this:
Then something strange happened. Mike Pence, the guy who, the night before, had seemed to shake every single hand in Lucas Oil Stadium, the guy whose aides budget extra time in his schedule because he’s such a talker (“He’s Irish,” one of them explained)—Mike Pence, exactly 20 minutes into a 45-minute interview, said, “We gotta roll in about five, don’t we?”

Mike Pence Would Be A Terrible Choice For Trump's VP

MIKE PENCE WOULD BE A TERRIBLE CHOICE FOR TRUMP’S VP

Governor of Indiana supports stealth amnesty, TPP, NAFTA

BY PAUL JOSEPH WATSON
SEE: http://www.infowars.com/mike-pence-would-be-a-terrible-choice-for-trumps-vp/republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, and research purposes:
Reports that Mike Pence is set to be announced as Donald Trump’s VP pick tomorrow have set off alarm bells among many Trump supporters because of the Governor of Indiana’s pro-amnesty, pro-TPP advocacy.
Making Pence VP is seen by many as a way of calming establishment conservatives and uniting the GOP, although why pandering to cuckservatives who have failed over and over again (John McCain, Mitt Romney etc etc) is suddenly a good idea remains a mystery.
Here are more reasons why picking Pence doesn’t make sense;
– While Trump has promised to build a wall, Pence has been savaged by respected conservatives like Pat Buchanan and Phyllis Schlafly for advocating “stealth amnesty” in the form of a guest worker program.
– While Trump has campaigned against job-killing foreign trade deals, Pence vehemently supports NAFTA, CAFTA, and the TPP.
– As recently as December, Pence tweeted, “Calls to ban Muslims from entering the U.S. are offensive and unconstitutional.” This completely contradicts Trump’s policy of a temporary halt on Muslim immigration.
– Pence voted for the Iraq war and opposed a withdrawal date even after it became apparent that U.S. involvement in the country was a disastrous policy.
– Pence once advocated “conversion therapy” for homosexuals. This will be exploited by the left to portray Pence as intolerant and bigoted, turning off many Bernie Sanders supporters who might have voted for Trump, as well as gays who were thinking about voting for Trump in the aftermath of the Orlando massacre.
– Pence is not a woman. Picking a female would have completely neutralized Hillary Clinton’s sole campaign platform, one bolstered by the media, which is the fact that Hillary has a vagina.
Hopefully, the Pence leak is just the Trump campaign testing the waters before a final call is made.
Trump’s campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks said that “a decision has not been made,” and the Indianapolis Star did not provide a source for its Pence leak.
The overwhelmingly negative reaction from many of Trump’s hardcore supporters should serve as a big wake up call and hopefully lead to the announcement of someone other than Pence to be Trump’s running mate.

Meet HOUSE SPEAKER Mike Johnson: 5 Things You Need to Know About Him

Meet Mike Johnson: 5 Things You Need to Know About Our New House Speaker
AP Photo/Alex Brandon
Now that the dust has settled on the election for House Speaker, it’s time to learn more about the man the House chose to lead it. Who is Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), and why is he a good choice to lead the House?

Mike Johnson is a 51-year-old attorney from Benton, La., who has represented Louisiana’s 4th district since 2017. That district stretches from the northwest corner to the center of the Pelican State. It’s a solid red district that has stayed Republican since 1997, and Johnson lives there with his wife, two daughters, and two sons.

But beyond the surface, there are plenty of reasons why Johnson is a wise choice for House Speaker. Here are just a few of them.

He’s a faithful Christian who fights for life and religious liberty.

Johnson doesn’t hide his deep Christian faith, and he allows it to guide his policy-making decisions. He’s solidly pro-life and has called for a nationwide ban on abortion. (Yes, I know your mileage may vary on that tactic, but it does demonstrate how committed he is to protecting the unborn.) He also unabashedly supports the traditional family.

“A just government protects life, honors marriage and family as the primary institutions of a healthy society, and embraces the vital cultural influences of religion and morality,” reads Johnson’s House website.

Johnson even put his money where his mouth is when it comes to his faith, serving as an attorney for Alliance Defending Freedom, an effective legal organization that helps protect religious liberty.

“So we are talking about a self-consciously committed evangelical Christian,” Albert Mohler summarized in his Briefing on Thursday. “We’re talking about an attorney who has put his reputation on the line to defend religious liberty. We’re talking about someone who clearly is willing to identify with evangelical Christians as an evangelical Christian, and he comes with a great deal of experience, not only as a legislator, both in Louisiana and now in the House of Representatives, but also as a litigator and attorney with Christian commitments.”

Adrienne Mahsa Varkiani writes in the New Republic, “Johnson is also an evangelical Christian who has said, ‘My faith informs everything I do.’” And that sets off alarm bells on the left. That alone is enough to make conservative Christians love him even more.

Related: Here’s Why the Left Hates Mike Johnson

He stood up for Donald Trump when Democrats impeached him.

Both Johnson and Trump came into office in 2017, and their relationship got off to a rocky start. Johnson found himself unable to support the GOP’s Trump-backed legislative efforts to repeal Obamacare because he thought it was “haphazardly drawn,” but he and Trump became staunch allies when Johnson helped file an amicus brief supporting the president during the 2020 impeachment proceedings.

This led the Shreveport Times to refer to Johnson as “a trusted member of Donald Trump’s inner circle.” Why is this important? The way things stand right now, Trump looks to be the most likely Republican nominee for 2024. Having the support of key congressional leaders like Johnson could help sway some reluctant voters to the former president’s side.

He supports Israel and questions the blank-check approach to Ukraine.

One of Johnson’s first acts as House Speaker was to pass House Resolution 771, “Standing with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists.” An overwhelming 410 members of Congress voted in favor of it.

Johnson also has expressed his concerns about the fact that the U.S. is passing money to Ukraine hand over fist with little accountability. “Like other conservatives, he has voiced concerns over freely handing out money like party favors to Ukraine and wants to see more accountability for where that money is and who it is going to,” notes Joe Cunningham at RedState.

“Republicans for Ukraine” gave Johnson a grade of F.

I’m sure the new House Speaker is losing sleep over that.

He has the support of conservatives in Congress.

During Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) brief tenure as House Speaker, everyone cast a suspicious eye on him. Reps. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), Tom Emmer (R-Minn.), and Steve Scalise (R-La.) couldn’t gin up enough support to get over the line. But Johnson has the support of many conservatives in the House.

“I am proud to congratulate my friend, Mike Johnson, on becoming the 56th Speaker of the House of Representatives. A fellow conservative and a man of deep Christian faith, Mike believes in this country, our Constitution, American values, and the American way of life — and he isn’t afraid to fight for them,” said Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) in a statement.

Roy added, “It is time to lead. It is time to fight. It is time for the American people to win again. We have a solemn duty upon us and a great task ahead of us; I look forward to continuing that work with Speaker Johnson and the rest of my colleagues. Onward.”

My congressman, Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.), said, “Today, I proudly voted for now-Speaker Mike Johnson on the House floor. After ten months of infighting over personalities and politics, I am grateful that our majority has rallied behind a strong conservative, an effective legislator, and a trusted, well-liked man to lead our conference. Mike Johnson is simply the right man for this moment, and I look forward to working with him to put America First and get our country back on a path to fiscal and economic prosperity. Let’s get to work!”

My colleague Spencer Brown at Townhall detailed some more of the reactions:

“Mr. Johnson is a proven conservative,” said Rep. Michelle Fischbach (R-MN). “I was honored to work with him on the Judiciary Committee, and I am confident that, as a speaker, he will move forward with an agenda that reflects the values and priorities of the American people.”

Rep. Jason Smith (R-MO) said Johnson “is honorable, smart,” and has “done a good job of bringing together members of different viewpoints to deliver conservative victories for the American people.”

“Throughout his time in Congress, Speaker Johnson has been a consistent and passionate champion of conservative principles, and I look forward to working alongside him and all House Republicans to deliver on the promises we made to the American people,” stated Rep. Sam Graves (R-MO).

These sorts of encomia are hard to ignore. Conservatives have a lot of confidence in Johnson, and so should we.

He’s nice.

Wait, wut? Isn’t a Speaker of the House supposed to be a bulldog and an aggressive go-getter? That might be the case most of the time, but Johnson’s demeanor, which is part of his Christian lifestyle, can help him tremendously.

For starters, Johnson’s niceness makes it easier for people to get along with him, even when they don’t agree with him. An easygoing personality can defuse a lot of difficult circumstances.

Mohler explained the other aspect of Johnson’s nice disposition: he hasn’t made enemies so far in his time in Congress. He also pointed out that Johnson reflects his Christian faith in the way he comports himself.

“Now you say, it might not be the most important thing that the Republicans would elect a speaker who is nice,” Mohler stated. “On the other hand, that is also a biblical issue. The biblical issue simply tells us that we are to treat people with respect. We are to seek to get along with people in goodwill. That is a matter of Christian testimony.”

I believe that Mike Johnson is the man that we need holding the gavel at this time. In the Old Testament book of Esther, Queen Esther’s uncle told his niece, “And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” This is Mike Johnson’s time. Pray for God to give him the strength to succeed.

Robert Spencer on Joe Biden’s Fascist Regime~We’re already dealing with a fascist regime

November 14, 2022, at Restoration Weekend. See the article based on this presentation here.

[Applause]

Robert Spencer: Thank you very much for still being here. We’ve had quite a weekend, and we’ve heard a great deal about how the election has been in a certain way, rigged, if not with outright fraud, but with the mail-in ballots and so many other ways that can be manipulated to achieve the desired result. Now, we’ve heard a great deal about that.

I wanted to step back in light of all that and look at some of the larger trends. What is the endgame? Where does the Democrat Party want to be in 5 years or 10 years or 20 years? We saw that very clearly on September 1, 2022, when Joe Biden made his infamous speech with the red and black background, kind of like this one. All I need is a couple of Marines and executive power, and you’d be in big trouble.

He gave a speech that was really without parallel in American history. There is no speech like that speech, from any president before Joe Biden. It was an extraordinary departure from 200 years of American political tradition, and it was extraordinarily important. It reveals what the left is trying ultimately to do. The best analogy for that speech is not in American history at all; it’s actually in German history, in a speech that the Chancellor of Germany named Adolf Hitler gave on March 23, 1933, in the Reichstag.

Now you might say, oh, this is hyperbole, this is an exaggeration, this is crazy. You go to — what is it called — the Godwin analogy or something, Godwin’s law, if you invoke Hitler, then you lose. Well, that’s all very well unless you’re talking about real fascists, and Joe Biden is a real fascist. The Democrat Party is at this point a fascist party. Now, before you dismiss this as hysteria or hyperbole, let’s think for a minute about what exactly fascism is. People throw the word around a whole lot. Joe Biden has called conservatives fascists, and Trump. Yet nobody actually stops and says, well, what exactly is a fascist, what do you mean by this?

Now, fascists, the word means bundles — bundles — and it’s like bundles of sticks. If you take out a dollar bill right now and look at the back, there’s a fascist symbol on the United States dollar bill. It is the American eagle clutching a couple of bundles of sticks. Now, why on earth is the American eagle clutching bundles of sticks? Because a single stick is weak and you can snap it, but if you hold 20 sticks together, you can’t snap them. So the whole idea is out of unity comes strength. And so the statement E Pluribus Unum, which is on the dollar, and is one of the mottoes of the United States, “out of many, one,” that’s a fascist statement because it is saying that we are all stronger together than we are separate.

Now, I hasten to assure you, I am not saying — I’m not some crazed leftist who snuck in. I am not saying that the Founding Fathers were fascists or that America is fascist. Actually, the Founding Fathers were not. Fascism as an organized political system, and organized political ideology, arose at the beginning of the 20th century in Italy, and of course, spread to Germany and elsewhere, and was thought to be completely discredited at the end of World War II. However, the People’s Republic of China today is more fascist than communist, and Joe Biden’s United States of America.

Now, I’ll explain this. When Adolf Hitler came to power, there were a lot of socialists in his government, because after all, his party was called the National Socialist German Workers Party. And there was a lot of what we would think of as leftist Marxist rhetoric in the Nazi program. There were people who wanted him to nationalize all the industries, but he refused. Instead, he called in the captains of industry, the big industrialists in Germany, and he made it very clear to them that they would do exactly what he said, or they would be killed, and they did. But they maintained ownership of their industries.

So in other words, communism nationalizes, and seizes control of the means of production. Fascism does not. Fascism allows for private ownership of the means of production, but coordinates them all, out of many, one, a bundle of sticks, coordinates them all together to work for the same goal. So they’re both totalitarian systems; they’re both very similar. The idea that fascism is extreme right and communism is extreme left, there’s nothing to that. That’s actually leftist propaganda.

The reality is that they are very closely aligned. They’re very similar. They’re both totalitarian systems that extinguish individuality and coordinate everything for the good of the state. There are two primary differences. Fascism tends to be nationalist, and fascism does not seize the means of production, but merely controls the means of production.

Now, think about the United States of America today. What we have is a President of the United States and his party with one point of view. And as it happens, that same point of view is shared by all the major corporations, all the social media giants, and all of the media. What do you call that? That’s fascism, out of many, one. Bundles, they’re all bundled together, and they’re all working for the same goal.

Now, of course, we know that very recently, there was this big fly in the ointment, a spanner in the works, that Donald Trump became president. And so the whole fascist machinery was stopped in its tracks because suddenly, the executive branch of the government was not on board with the rest of the program. And so they had to get together and do everything they could to remove and destroy him. Joe Biden just repeated that.

Do you know that after the election, right on Wednesday, November 9, Joe Biden was asked about Trump? The questioner said, “His movement is still very strong.” And Joe Biden laughed derisively and said, “Oh, yeah,” because he thought that it was broken. And he said, “I’m making sure he, under legitimate efforts of our Constitution, does not become the next president again.” That’s what Joe Biden said.

Now, if you think about that, what does that mean? How can Joe Biden do that? I actually checked the Constitution this morning just to make sure. And there is nothing in there about eligibility for the Presidency of the United States, except that you’re a natural born citizen and you’re 35 years old; and you can be removed from office, impeached, and convicted; if convicted, removed from office, if you are guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors.

Now, that might be what he’s saying, that they’re going to indict him for treason for something related to these allegedly classified documents that he allegedly had and so on. And that will be considered high crime and misdemeanors and bar him from the presidency. But what he’s really trying to do, he made clear on September 1. That was to criminalize opposition, to make only one political point of view acceptable in the United States. And you can see that that is exactly where everything is tending in the fascist system in which we are living today.

The social media giants have already made it normalized that people who speak things that are unacceptable, get banned. And some people protest for a while and everybody forgets about it and we go on. And there’s this big debate because Elon Musk bought Twitter over whether he should allow the freedom of speech and how much he should allow it. Joe Biden actually said that they’re going to investigate him for daring to try to reinstitute the freedom of speech. So how much does this administration value dissent?

This is an administration that put together the Disinformation Governance Board last year that was going to work out of the Department of Homeland Security, quite ominously, in order to combat alleged disinformation, judged, of course, by the Board itself, and prosecuted presumably under the auspices of being a national security threat.

And so back to that red and black speech on September 1, 2022 — incidentally, the 83rd anniversary of the beginning of World War II. Joe Biden said that Trump and his supporters represented a grave threat to the republic itself. Now, that was what was so unprecedented in American life, and that’s why his speech was more like Hitler’s Reichstag speech than any speech of an American president because Joe Biden was saying that essentially, half of the electorate, and everybody in this room, is somebody who is a threat to the republic, is somebody who is outside the bounds of acceptable political discourse.

So if you think that they are going to peacefully allow everyone who believes the way that we do to recapture the White House or the House or the Senate, and do nothing about it, then I’m afraid that you’ve been naive. This is an effort to rule out Trump supporters, that is America First patriots, to rule them out of bounds, to criminalize that perspective.

What Hitler did was in response to the Reichstag fire. You’ve all heard of the fire in the Reichstag on February 27, 1933. Hitler blamed the communists for the fire, and he banned the Communist Party. Now, as it happened, the Communist Party had enough deputies in the Reichstag to prevent him from being able to pass the Enabling Act that gave him dictatorial powers. And so lo and behold, the communists weren’t there, because he blamed them for the Reichstag, he outlawed the party. Then he had a majority in the Reichstag. On March 23, 1933, he said, “These people are a grave threat to the republic and so we have  removed them.” The rest of the deputies vote in favor of the Enabling Act, and the Nazi dictatorship is established.

Now in the United States of America, it’s happening more slowly. We have a long democratic tradition. Theirs was 14 years old at the time that Hitler made his speech, that’s not very long. But ours goes back to the 18th century, so it’s going to take a while longer. We had the Reichstag fire, which was January 6, the event that is cast as high treason that they blamed on the opposition group. And we had the speech that was conscious — somebody made a decision to put the red and the black. Did you see all the red and black pictures? Somebody decided, hey, let’s get the Nazi colors and put them behind Joe Biden. Who decided that and why?

It seems to me that it was very clear that he was saying: we have the military behind us, and we are going to come after you. We are going to make what you were saying and doing a criminal act, and we are going to rule you out of the political life of the United States of America. And so Joe Biden in doing that, you see, is doing a quintessentially fascist act. He’s got all the corporations and all the media, all the industries, behind him. They all work for the same point of view, and now he is moving to eliminate the opposition.

So when we look at the election of 2022, it’s very clear what happened. There was a very decisive majority for the Republicans in the popular vote, and yet it didn’t translate to seats in the House or the Senate. Why not? Because they’ve already rigged the maps, as we’ve discussed here several times during this weekend. The gerrymandering has been quite successful so that Republicans won big in their Republican districts, but it didn’t translate to statewide victories.

Now that is the same effort, you see; that is all one step toward eliminating the Republicans altogether, or if not the Republicans, eliminating the MAGA Republicans. Lisa Murkowski, Mitt Romney, and Liz Cheney, they’ll be the acceptable opposition. But you see, the acceptable opposition is a controlled opposition, an opposition that doesn’t really oppose, that just goes along. And this morning, I saw that at Arizona State University, which must be around here somewhere, they voted 90% — 90%! — for Katie Hobbs.

Now, it reminded me — what was really disconcerting about it actually was that this was on a Twitter post, a tweet, and all the responses said, hey, bravo, Gen Z; hey, this is great. We love the young people, they’re saving us. But what I thought was gee, that reminds me of the Soviet Union. And when they would have elections, they had free and fair elections, and 99% of the people voted for the Communist Party. And so the same thing has been set up organically here. Those people are going to grow up and they’re going to be the only ones voting, and they’re going to vote 90%, 95%, 99% for the establishment Democrats.

So this is — unfortunately, I understand, a very bleak picture, and I’m sorry to come to the morning breakfast and give you a load of bleak. But the fact is that even amidst all this, the light of freedom is never extinguished, and they’re making all these plans. We need to be aware of these plans. One of the most disconcerting and disappointing things, I think, out of the 2022 election was that I didn’t see any Republicans talking about any of this.

I saw Republicans talking about inflation, which is important, and the border, which is important; not taking away from any of that. But where were the Republicans talking about, hey, this is a fascist administration that’s against our freedoms. This is an administration that is trying to foreclose on legitimate political discourse. This is an administration that is consciously aping the institution of authoritarian totalitarian regimes in recent historical memory. Did you hear anybody say that? I didn’t see anybody say that.

But it’s very clear, you know they sic the FBI on parents protesting at school board meetings. They keep saying white supremacists are the biggest terror threat that the nation faces. Have you seen white supremacists flying planes into buildings? Have you seen white supremacists blowing stuff up? I  don’t see it, but they keep saying it because, of course, what they mean is the MAGA Republicans are white supremacists, and we are going to take away the franchise from those white supremacists and destroy them utterly.

Anyway, I was saying it’s not so bad. So I will end with that. Remember that one of the reasons why we have had mass migration into the United States was because the Democrats assumed that particularly the Hispanics would be completely on board with them, and would give them a reliable voting majority for the foreseeable future, and that’s all fallen apart. And the more — yes — and the more that it goes on, the more it will continue to fall apart.

There are a lot of people in the United States who believe that there ought to be freedom of speech. And so even though there’s an alarming number of people who are against it, and it is under grave threat today, at the same time, there are a great many people who are not willing to see it go, and it will not go lightly. But it’s going to be tough times ahead.

And so Mike said he’ll tell you the title of his new book, and I’m sorry for the ad, but the book will be out in January. It’s called The Sumter Gambit. The Sumter Gambit, referring to Fort Sumter. And the subtitle is How The Left Is Trying To Foment a Civil War because you notice also how crazy everything’s gotten lately? That there are drag queens in primary schools, and you see one story over here and you think, gee, that’s terrible. And you see another one over there, and then you see another one every day, and it’s happening in schools all over the country.

Suddenly, everybody’s decided what we really need to do is sexualize five-year-olds and have pornographic displays in front of them. Well, I don’t know who’s paying for that. Somebody is, but that is just one example of how — what the immediate next step is, and that is to push us and goad us until we strike back violently. And then if we strike back violently, then they can arrest us and put us in prison wholesale. And so the idea is with all this to drive us crazy and to say, I can’t believe this is happening, and we have no recourse at the ballot box. What can we do? The only thing we can do is go shoot up some government office or something like that. And that’s just exactly what they want to happen.

And so a lot of this, the reason why the imagery of Joe’s speech was so flamboyant and so in-your-face was that they want us to notice it and strike back. And then they can use the strike back to justify further authoritarian measures. And so above all, we have to not take the bait and proceed peacefully, but all the more energetically to tap the sentiments of those who did give us this big majority, and do everything that we can to restore the electoral viability of that majority, and to roll back, with the heroic efforts of people like J. Christian Adams and others, to roll back the gains that they have made to rig the system so that even when we win, we lose.

So I will close by noting that I am from the great State of South Carolina, and I know you probably wouldn’t believe that, but anyway, it’s true. And the state motto is Dum Spiro Spero — while I breathe, I hope. And so we must never, ever give up above all, and if we do not, and insofar as we do not, we will prevail. Thank you. [Applause].

Male Speaker: We have time for questions.

Robert Spencer: Great.

Male Speaker: (Inaudible).

Audience Member: Okay, yes, sir?

Audience Member: Secession comes to mind.

Robert Spencer: Yes.

Audience Member: And you didn’t mention the Night of the Long Knives, June 30.

Robert Spencer: Well, that’s another thing, yes. Secession, the gentleman said, “Secession comes to mind” and I didn’t mention the Night of the Long Knives on June 30, 1934. In the first place, secession I think might be a great idea, if they would allow us to go peacefully, but probably they wouldn’t. But at this point, the gap between the two groups in the United States is so large, it’s hard to see how it can be bridged. And so maybe it is true that it would be good to go our own way, but I don’t think that is a viable option in terms of being possible in a peaceful manner. We’ll see, maybe as things develop.

As far as the Night of the Long Knives goes, yes, I think that kind of thing is coming. It’s just the logical next step. Once you say the Trump supporter — the Night of the Long Knives, by the way, was after Hitler became a dictator. Then at one point, one night, he had thugs go around and kill all his political opponents, all his major political opponents, the former Chancellor of Germany, and various others. And that’s coming because this is what totalitarians do, this is what fascists do, and these people are fascists.

And, oh, yes, I didn’t explain — excuse me — as an aside, the People’s Republic of China is more fascist than communist today because they have private ownership. They don’t have nationalization of the means of production. They have entrepreneurs, but they all do what the state wants them to do and so it’s a fascist state. And that’s what we’re working toward here. Anyway, you rule out one group from acceptable discourse, you say they’re a threat to the republic, then killing them all is really a no-brainer. It’s the next step.

Hello.

Audience Member: Hello. Sometimes I feel that when I’ve been listening to all these speeches, we’re giving Joe Biden too much credit. I think that this really started with Obama, and I think that Obama is still behind a lot of what is going on and that Joe Biden is just the puppet.

Robert Spencer: Oh, you’re quite right, yes. I have to say, I  had limited time this morning, so I did not say that Joe Biden is not really the President of the United States, but I think we all know that. Joe Biden is just a stand-in for probably for Obama, Susan Rice, Valerie Jarrett, and other people who are running the show. He himself has made that abundantly clear on numerous occasions, saying, “I’m going to get in trouble if I depart from this script. And I’m told I have to call upon these people” at his ridiculous press conferences. It’s very clear he openly — because he’s got dementia, he just says whatever’s in his head. And so he said several times, he’s not the man in charge, he’s just taking orders. A lot of the machinery of this did begin with Obama. The totalitarian tendencies that we’re seeing come to fruition now, he did plant the seeds for them to a tremendous degree.

Audience Member: Steve Emerson (inaudible).

Robert Spencer: Hi, Steve.

Audience Member: Hi, Robert. To what extent was January 6 a planned Democrat plot?

Robert Spencer: Oh, I’d say about 100%.

Audience Member: And we know, of course, that they refused the National Guard in advance. Last night, he mentioned the huge bronze doors were already open, etc.

Robert Spencer: Yes, it’s abundantly clear, January 6 was a setup. The National Guard was refused, as Steve pointed out. The doors were opened by the police, that’s on video. And then of course there’s the famous Ray Epps. You probably have all heard of Ray Epps, but just in case, you can find abundant videos of this fellow with a MAGA hat. And he’s saying, we’re going to have to go into the Capitol, we’re going into the Capitol. And he has not been arrested.

If anybody was a ringleader of any kind of insurrection, it’s Ray Epps, and yet he’s one guy who’s completely escaped prosecution. Now that of course is abundantly clear. The guy was a plant, he was probably FBI. He was trying to goad people to go in, so they could create this incident that they could use. The whole thing — maybe a few people went into the Capitol thinking they were going to do some damage, but mostly they opened the doors, and people went in. Hey, I’m going to take some pictures of the rotunda or whatever. They had no idea they were participating in an insurrection, and that what was being done to them is criminal. But that’s what fascist regimes do; they have to find a scapegoat and a political enemy that they direct hatred toward and use as a springboard to criminalize and silence all their opponents.

Audience Member: One thing I’d like to mention and hasn’t been said out loud here, is we are living, as you say, in a new world. At this moment, someone is surveilling us, that goes without saying. When the people on the dais call you heroes, you are because at some point, you’ll be challenged. I worked in the surveillance industry my entire career. Someone here doesn’t belong here; they are working for someone else. And you’re smiling, you know —

Robert Spencer: No, I think you’re absolutely right. I just think it’s kind of amusing —

Audience Member: It’s a game.

Robert Spencer: — because maybe — I always wonder when they have plants like that if they ever learn anything.

Audience Member: And you know —

Robert Spencer: And whoever’s got me under surveillance, I know you must be very bored and I’m sorry.

Audience Member: Like and you listen to him as he makes the disclaimers. I put my cell phone in a wire-mesh wallet, so they don’t listen to my conversations because if I’m put on a list and I open my mouth, a machine somewhere in the bowels of the government records what I say, if the words that I say trigger it.

Robert Spencer: There’s no doubt about it, yes.

Audience Member: It’s not a joke. They spent a trillion dollars plus on setting this machinery up. China has spent $3 trillion in its money on a machine that’s even more insidious. Beware. Be ready, speak softly.

Robert Spencer: I want to assure you, I was not making light of your statements. I  totally agree. This is just a fact of life, really. We all carry these surveillance devices with us all the time. And I could tell you a lot of stories about when I’ve been chatting with people about a certain subject and never looked it up online or anything, and then I go online, and I see all this information about it. So some automated thing probably was listening, but this is just a fact of life in America today. And we have to reckon with the fact that they are looking for ways to get at us and to destroy any opposition that they face. And so we may come up against that, that’s just the way it is, and we need to have the courage that the founding fathers had. [Applause].

Male Speaker: We have time for one last question if anyone has a question. It’s [Phyllis], nobody else has their hands up.

Robert Spencer: You are being watched. (Laughter).

Audience Member: I love it. Do you think that our military, even though it’s now becoming infiltrated as well, that if there was an order given to go after the citizenry, that the military would actually obey that order?

Robert Spencer: Yes, I think they would. I’m sorry to say that, but I’ve seen so much of the police. I used to think, well, the police, if you’re going to be a policeman, you’re generally a good law and order guy. And so you’re a patriot and you love this country and you want to see it be safe and free. But then I see police just doing the bidding of these totalitarians and they don’t seem to bat an eye. We have to reckon with the fact that some people are just going to say, I’m just getting a paycheck and I’m going to follow orders. It’s unfortunately a  phenomenon that has abundant historical precedent, most notoriously, of course, during World War II with the German army.

Male Speaker: Thank you, Robert.

Robert Spencer: Thank you. Thank you.

[Applause]

Free America: We’re already dealing with a fascist regime

BY ROBERT SPENCER

Republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, & research purposes.

Editor’s note: This article is adapted from remarks Robert Spencer made at the David Horowitz Freedom Center’s Restoration Weekend on November 14, 2022 in Phoenix, Arizona. See the video of his talk HERE.]

There has been a great deal of discussion of late about how the midterm elections were rigged, if not with outright fraud, at the very least with mail-in ballots, and in so many other ways that elections can be manipulated to achieve the desired result. But what is the end game? Where does the Democrat Party want to be in five years, or ten or twenty? We saw that very clearly on September 1, 2022, when Joe Biden made his infamous speech with a red and black background.

Biden gave a speech that was without parallel in American history. It was an extraordinary departure from 200 years of American political tradition, and it was extremely important. It reveals what the Left is trying ultimately to do. The best analogy for that speech is not in American history at all; it’s actually in German history, in a speech that the Chancellor of Germany named Adolf Hitler gave on March 23, 1933, in the Reichstag.

This is not hyperbole or exaggeration. Godwin’s Law holds that if you invoke Hitler or compare some contemporary figure to Hitler, then you lose. That’s all very well unless you’re talking about real fascists. Joe Biden is a real fascist. The Democrat Party is at this point a fascist party. Biden, on the other hand, has called conservatives fascists, and Trump in particular. But what exactly is a fascist?

The Latin word fasces means bundles, like bundles of sticks. On the United States dollar bill, there is an American eagle clutching a couple of bundles of sticks. The idea is that a single stick is weak and can be easily snapped in two and destroyed, but if you hold a bundle of sticks together, they can’t be so easily broken. The idea is that out of unity comes strength. The statement E Pluribus Unum, which is on the dollar and is one of the mottoes of the United States, “out of many, one,” is in one sense a fascist statement, because it is saying that we are all stronger together than we are separate.

The Founding Fathers were not remotely fascist. America is not fascist. They were just emphasizing the importance of unity among the various states. But fascism as an organized political ideology shares that idea of strength in unity. It arose in the beginning of the 20th century in Italy, and of course, spread to Germany and elsewhere, and was thought to be completely discredited at the end of World War II. However, the People’s Republic of China today is more fascist than communist, and Joe Biden’s United States of America is a fascist state as well.

When Hitler came to power, there were a lot of socialists in his government. His party was called the National Socialist German Workers Party. There was a great deal of what we would think of as leftist Marxist rhetoric in the Nazi program. There were people who wanted him to nationalize all the industries, but he refused. Instead, he called in the captains of industry, the big industrialists in Germany, and made it clear to them that they would do exactly what he said, or they would be killed, and they did do what he said. But they maintained ownership of their industries.

So while communism nationalizes industries, seizing control of the means of production, fascism does not. Fascism allows for private ownership of the means of production, but coordinates them all, applying the principle of “out of many, one,” a bundle of sticks. A fascist regime coordinates them all together to work for the same goal. So both fascism and communism are totalitarian systems and are quite similar to one another. The idea that fascism is extreme Right and communism is extreme Left is baseless; it’s actually leftist propaganda.

The reality is that fascism and communism are closely aligned and very similar to one another. They’re both totalitarian systems that extinguish individuality and coordinate everything for the good of the state. There are two primary differences. Fascism tends to be nationalist, and fascism does not seize the means of production, but merely controls the means of production.

Now think about the United States of America today. What we have is a President of the United States and his party with one point of view. That same point of view is shared by all the major corporations, all the social media giants, and all of the media. That’s fascism: out of many, one. Bundles: they’re all bundled together, and they’re all working for the same goal.

The fly in the ointment came when Donald Trump became president. The entire fascist machinery was stopped in its tracks because suddenly the executive branch of the government was not on board with the rest of the program. And so the fascists got together and did everything they could to remove and destroy Trump.

Joe Biden just repeated that as an imperative of the ruling group. After the election, on Wednesday, November 9, Biden was asked about Trump. The questioner said, “His movement is still very strong.” Biden laughed derisively and said, “Oh, yeah?” He thought or wanted his audience to think, that Trump’s movement was broken. Biden added: “I’m making sure he, under legitimate efforts of our Constitution, does not become the next president again.”

What does that mean? How can Biden do that? The Constitution says nothing about eligibility for the Presidency of the United States except that one must be a natural-born citizen and 35 years old. It also says that the president can be removed from office if found guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors.

Biden likely meant that leftists are going to indict Trump for treason for something related to the allegedly classified documents that he allegedly had at Mar-a-Lago. This will be considered high crimes and misdemeanors and bar him from the presidency. But what Biden is really trying to do, as he made clear on September 1, was to criminalize opposition and make only one political point of view acceptable in the United States. That is where everything is tending in the fascist system in which we are living today.

The social media giants have already normalized the idea that people who speak things that are unacceptable get banned, even if they have neither engaged in nor advocated for any criminal activity. Now there is a big debate because Elon Musk bought Twitter, over whether he should allow the freedom of speech, and how much of it he should allow. Biden actually said that the government is going to investigate Musk for daring to try to reinstitute the freedom of speech. So how much does this administration value dissent? Investigating Musk for not working in coordination with the agenda of the government and the other social media giants is pure fascism.

This is the administration that put together the Disinformation Governance Board last year; it was going to work out of the Department of Homeland Security, quite ominously, in order to combat alleged disinformation. That disinformation would be judged, of course, by the Board itself, and prosecuted presumably under the auspices of being a national security threat.

In his red and black speech on September 1, 2022, the 83rd anniversary of the beginning of World War II, Biden said that Trump and his supporters represented a grave threat to the Republic itself. That was what was so unprecedented in American life, and why his speech was more like Hitler’s Reichstag speech than any speech of an American president. Biden was saying that essentially half of the electorate was a threat to the Republic and outside the bounds of acceptable political discourse.

Do you think that they are going to peacefully allow those whom they have thus branded to recapture the White House or the House or the Senate? This is an effort to rule Trump supporters, that is, America First patriots, out of the bounds of acceptable discourse, and to criminalize their perspective.

What Hitler did was in response to the Reichstag fire of February 27, 1933. Hitler blamed the communists for the fire and banned the Communist Party. As it happened, the Communist Party had enough deputies in the Reichstag to prevent him from being able to pass the Enabling Act which gave him dictatorial powers. After Hitler blamed them for the Reichstag fire and outlawed the party, he had a majority in the Reichstag. On March 23, 1933, he said that the communists were a grave threat to the republic, and so had to be removed. The rest of the deputies voted in favor of the Enabling Act, and the Nazi dictatorship was established.

In the United States of America, it’s happening more slowly. We have a long democratic tradition. The Weimar Republic was only fourteen years old when Hitler made his speech. Our Republic, by contrast, goes back to the eighteenth century; to destroy it will take longer. We had the Reichstag fire event: that was January 6, which is cast as an act of high treason that is being blamed on the opposition group. Then we had the Biden speech that consciously copied Nazi imagery.

What Biden was saying was very clear: we have the military behind us, and we are going to come after you. We are going to make what you were saying and doing a criminal act. We are going to rule you out of the political life of the United States of America. What Joe Biden was doing was a quintessentially fascist act. He has all the corporations and all the media, as well as all the industries behind him. They all work from the same point of view, and now he is moving to eliminate the opposition.

So when we look at the election of 2022, it’s very clear what happened. There was a decisive majority for the Republicans in the popular vote, yet it didn’t translate to seats in the House or the Senate. Why not? Because the Democrats have already rigged the maps. The gerrymandering has been quite successful so that Republicans won big in their Republican districts, but this didn’t translate to statewide victories.

This was one step toward eliminating the Republicans altogether, or at the very least the MAGA Republicans. Lisa Murkowski, Mitt Romney, Liz Cheney, and the rest will be the acceptable opposition. The acceptable opposition is a controlled opposition, that is, an opposition that doesn’t really oppose, that just goes along.

In a similar vein, at Arizona State University, the students voted 90% for Katie Hobbs. One disconcerting aspect of this was that someone tweeted out this information and the responses were enthusiastic, with people praising the young for supporting Hobbs. But this kind of result was reminiscent of the elections we used to see in the old Soviet Union. When they had elections, 99% of the people voted for the Communist Party. Now the same thing has been set up organically here. Those people are going to grow up and will be the only ones voting, and they’re going to vote 90%, 95%, 99% for the establishment Democrats. That’s what the fascists in power want.

Yet one of the most disconcerting and disappointing aspects of the 2022 election was that no Republicans were talking about any of this.

Republicans were talking about inflation, which is important, and the border, which is also important. But where were the Republicans calling attention to the fact that this is a fascist administration that’s against our fundamental freedoms? This is an administration that is trying to foreclose on legitimate political discourse. This is an administration that is consciously aping the institution of authoritarian totalitarian regimes in recent historical memory. Yet no one even mentioned it.

Nonetheless, it’s very clear. They have sicced the FBI on parents protesting at school board meetings. They keep saying white supremacists are the biggest terror threat that the nation faces, despite the fact that we see very few incidents of white supremacist terror. What they mean is that MAGA Republicans are white supremacists, and they are going to take away the franchise from those white supremacists and destroy them utterly.

The plan may not work. One of the reasons why we have had mass migration into the United States was because the Democrats assumed that Hispanics would be completely on board with them, and would give them a reliable voting majority for the foreseeable future. That has all fallen apart. And it will continue to fall apart. There are a lot of people in the United States who believe that there ought to be freedom of speech. Thus even though there is an alarming number of people who are against it, and it is under grave threat today, at the same time, there are a great many people who are not willing to see it go, and it will not go lightly. But tough times are ahead.

My next book will be out in January. The Sumter Gambit: How The Left Is Trying To Foment a Civil War discusses the Left’s concerted efforts to provoke conservatives into striking back violently so that they can justify repressive measures. The reason why the imagery of Joe Biden’s speech was so flamboyant and so in-your-face was that they actually wanted us to notice it and strike back so that they could claim that further authoritarian measures were reasonable and necessary.

Above all, we have to not take the bait. We must instead proceed peacefully, but all the more energetically to tap the sentiments of those who did give us this big majority, and do everything that we can to restore the electoral viability of that majority, and to roll back, with the heroic efforts of people such as J. Christian Adams and others, the gains that they have made to rig the system so that even when we win, we lose.

The motto of the great State of South Carolina is Dum Spiro Spero — while I breathe, I hope. Words to live by in these turbulent times.

Mike Lindell Suing FBI, Government for Violating His Rights

BY LINCOLN BROWN

Mike Lindell wants more than just his phone back. Following the incident in Minnesota during which agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation blocked his vehicle at a Hardee’s drive-through and seized his phone, Lindell made an appearance on Steve Bannon’s War Room. He announced that he was filing a lawsuit against the FBI and the government. You can watch Lindell’s conversation with Bannon posted by The Post Millennial below.

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell to Steve Bannon: "We are suing the United States government and the FBI"

Lindell makes the point that his phone is what he uses to run his company and that it even controls his hearing aids. As someone who wears hearing aids, I had the option of connecting mine to my phone and even activating the Bluetooth feature. But while I don’t need to pair my ears with my phone, Lindell chose to do so. And for better or worse (probably worse), our lives are now almost inextricably linked to our phones. While that says more about the continuing decline of Western Civilization than anything else, let’s face it: we’d all be lost without our phones, no matter how erudite we think we may be.

Lindell noted that he had already turned over his phone records during the Dominion lawsuit. And to be honest, the FBI could have easily accessed all of his phone and internet records, particularly under Merrick Garland.

I’ve never watched Lindell.TV, and I’ve never been a huge Lindell fan, although we did buy a pair of My Pillows. They’re okay. A little too fluffy for me. We bought one of his dog beds, and the dog chewed it up. But that’s beside the point. Lindell, even if leftists and a few people on the right disparage him, makes a valid observation about the infringement of his rights. This was more than gathering evidence under a warrant. This was meant to intimidate him. And by extension, everyone else. Including you and including me.

Pay attention when people Democrats like Tim Ryan say it is time to “kill and confront” the MAGA movement. I’m not even a MAGA person, and that made me raise my eyebrows. Pay attention when Joe Biden tees off on MAGA Republicans. Pay attention to stories like those of Lisa Gallagher, a New Jersey wife, mother, and Trump supporter who had FBI agents knocking at her door because of an anonymous and false tip that she had been involved in the January 6 incident. Pay attention when Senator Mazie Hirono says, “That is how more and more women and those who support our right to make decisions about our own bodies, that is how we see it. And why? Because that’s what’s happening. Madam President, I yield the floor. But clearly, this is a — literally, call to arms in our country. I yield the floor.”

Does she know what the word “literally” means? If it is literally a call to arms, that means picking up weapons. Had she meant otherwise, she would have said “figurative.”  Someone may argue that Ryan and Hirono were just being passionate. But people in moments of passion, as well as when they are in their cups, often betray their real thoughts.

Pay attention.

Judas Pence The former vice president is “just as wrong” as FBI apologists.

“These attacks on the FBI must stop,” Mike Pence said on August 17. “Calls to defund the FBI are just as wrong as calls to defund the police.” That equation invites a review of FBI performance at its duly appointed tasks.

We protect the American people and uphold the U.S. Constitution,” proclaims the FBI website. On the protection side, the American people might look back at September 11, 2001.

In May of 2001, according to The 9/11 Commission Report: Final Report of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks upon the United States, FBI counterterrorism boss Dale Watson had only two people looking at threats from Osama bin Laden. FBI assessments of the potential use of flight training by terrorists and warnings of “radical Middle Easterners attending flight school,” were not passed on to FAA headquarters.

The FBI did not produce the kind of intelligence reports other agencies disseminated, and its usual practice was to withhold the information and say little about investigations. FBI field offices “never used the information to gain a systematic or strategic understanding of the nature and extent of al Qaeda fundraising.”

Terrorist Zacarias Moussaoui was prevented from further training on Pan Am’s Boeing 747 simulators but FBI headquarters believed there was “insufficient cause” to search his laptop computer. An FBI agent in Minneapolis said he was “trying to keep someone from taking a plane and crashing it into the World Trade Center.” Officials at FBI headquarters said that was not going to happen and they did not know if Moussaoui was a terrorist.

“The FBI has proven for the past decade it cannot identify and prevent acts of terrorism against the United States and its citizens at home and abroad,” wrote FBI whistleblower Robert Wright in the summer of 2001. “Even worse, there is virtually no effort on the part of the FBI’s International Terrorism Unit to neutralize known and suspected terrorists residing within the United States.”

Wright headed an operation that shut down terrorist funding but claimed that FBI management “intentionally and repeatedly thwarted and obstructed,” his attempts to expand the investigation, arrest other terrorists, and seize their assets.

In 2009, American-born Muslim Maj. Nidal Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, was communicating with al Qaeda terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki about killing Americans. As Lessons from Fort Hood explains, the FBI was monitoring the communications but the bureau’s Washington office “does not currently assess Hasan to be involved in terrorist activities.” On November 5, 2009, Hasan murdered 13 unarmed American soldiers, including Pvt. Francheska Velez, who was pregnant and wounded more than 30 others.

In 2011, Russian intelligence warned the FBI about Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, but in 2013 the FBI failed to stop the brothers from bombing the Boston Marathon. The attack killed three people and wounded more than 250. Local police, not the FBI, took out Tamerlan and captured Dzhokhar.

The FBI failed to stop Islamic terrorists Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik from murdering 14 people and wounding more than 20 others in San Bernardino, California, on December 2, 2015. As in Boston, the FBI played no role in the takedown of the terrorists. San Bernardino police shot dead the heavily armed Farook and Malik, with no loss of innocent life.

In 2016 in Orlando, Florida, the FBI failed to protect the Pulse nightclub from Omar Mateen. The Islamic State supporter killed 49 people and wounded more than 50. The FBI had questioned Mateen in 2013 but closed the inquiry, leaving the terrorist free to plan his attack.

In 2020, Antifa and Black Lives Matter launched riots that during more than 100 days, claimed 35 lives, injured hundreds of police officers, and caused $2 billion in property damage. The FBI did nothing to prevent the “peaceful protesters” from taking over part of Seattle.

As these cases confirm, the FBI does a poor job of protecting the American people. It’s unclear if any FBI bosses were disciplined, suspended, or dismissed for the failures that left thousands of Americans dead and wounded. The failure of the FBI and CIA against Islamic jihadists led to the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, like the FBI now deployed against the American people.

It’s hard to find statements from Mike Pence contending that FBI failure “must stop,” or have any effect on the bureau’s budget. According to Christopher Wray, that is now $10.8 billion, including “a total of $10.7 billion for salaries and expenses, which will support 36,945 positions.”

More recent episodes call into question the FBI's dedication to the Constitution and the rule of law.  According to former FBI director Louis Freeh, the rule of law is the “only beacon” for the FBI. Under James Comey, the FBI made election interference a major priority.

With her unsecured home-brew server and destruction of subpoenaed emails, Hillary Clinton violated federal statutes. Comey said no reasonable prosecutor would pursue the case, and the FBI launched the Midyear Exam operation to keep Clinton in the presidential race. FBI-favored candidates Clinton and Tim Kaine lost to Donald Trump and Mike Pence, but there was more to FBI meddling.

The FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane operation targeted candidate and President Trump. As Julie Kelly recalls, the FBI framed Gen. Michael Flynn, misled the FISA court, doctored correspondence, and used a fake dossier against President Trump and his allies. In the style of the Soviet KGB, politicians pointed out the man and the FBI created the crime.

FBI boss Christopher Wray is all-in with the notion that anyone less than worshipful of Joe Biden is a violent extremist and domestic terrorist. The bureau raids the home of Donald Trump, ripping off his passports and rummaging through Melania’s clothes, yet Mike Pence has a beef with those who “attack” the FBI by taking a hard look at its budget in light of clearly lawless activity.

The former vice president, a devout Christian, did not publicly cite Bible verses against the FBI critics. Steve Bannon called the former vice president a “mindless, gutless symp” and “Judas Pence.” If that seems too strong, it’s fair to say that Mike Pence is “just as wrong” as those who remain uncritical of the FBI. The targets of current FBI operations, meanwhile, might ponder Matthew 10:36: “A man’s foes shall be they of his own household.”

The foes of Donald Trump include the man who ran at his side and prominent members of his own party. The most formidable foes of the American people are the agencies of their own government, with the FBI leading the charge.

Pence Defends FBI, Shows How Out of Touch He Really Is

Tone-Deaf Pence: ‘Attacks on the FBI Must Stop’

BY ROBERT SPENCER

Former Vice President Mike Pence confirmed on Wednesday that he has about as much chance of being the Republican nominee for president in 2024 as Nancy Pelosi has of joining the Radio City Rockettes. Demonstrating a tone-deafness of Olympian proportions, Pence had harsh words for the Republicans who are appalled at how the FBI has become a tool of the partisan vendetta of Old Joe Biden and Merrick Garland against Donald Trump. In Pence’s world, the stout-hearted G-Men are still of unquestionable integrity, square-jawed, patriotic, non-partisan, and ever-vigilant for truth, justice, and the American way. It hasn’t been that way for a long time if it ever was, but Mike hasn’t noticed.

Pence, who has something of the mien of an upright, taciturn fed himself, said: “The Republican Party is the party of law and order. And these attacks on the FBI must stop; calls to defund the FBI are just as wrong as calls to defund the police.” According to ABC News, Pence added that while he was “deeply troubled” over the raid on Trump’s home, “the party can still hold Attorney General Merrick Garland accountable ‘without attacking the rank-and-file law enforcement personnel at the FBI.’”

Well, sure. There are no doubt a few FBI agents left who are conscientious and patriotic and are trying to do a good job for the American people. If Americans were storming FBI offices in the hinterlands and brutalizing well-meaning agents who had nothing to do with the Russian collusion hoax or the attempt to brand angry parents at school board meetings as terrorists, Pence might have a point. But they aren’t, and he doesn’t.

“The truth of the matter is,” said Pence after ignoring the major facts at hand, “we need to get to the bottom of what happened. We need to let the facts play out, but more than anything else, the American people need to be reassured in the integrity of our justice system and the very appearance of a recurrence of politics playing a role in decisions that the Justice Department demands transparency as never before.”

Yes, that’s actually true in a sense. We do need to get to the bottom of what happened, but Americans who are paying attention have already seen “the integrity of our justice system” seriously called into question. There is not only the FBI’s involvement in the Russia hoax, but the fact that Hillary Clinton and Hunter Biden were not indicted and so much more that indicates that the FBI is not dealing dispassionately and impartially and that the Biden administration is using what is supposed to be neutral law enforcement to play partisan politics in the most dishonest fashion imaginable.

Related: Trump vs. Pence: The Battle the GOP Doesn’t Need

Even besides all that, there is the fact that J. Christian Adams reported about on June 30: Lindsay Capodilupo, the FBI’s “Election Crimes Coordinator” (does she investigate those “election crimes” or perpetrate them?) works closely with the Democracy Fund, which Adams calls “a hyper-funded progressive money source.” Is the FBI’s “Election Crimes Coordinator” also working with some patriotic election integrity group? The chances of that are about zero minus eight degrees.

Has Mike Pence missed everything that has happened over the last few years? Has he missed the deep concern of patriotic Americans that something has gone seriously wrong in Washington, not least with the FBI, and that there is a very good reason why the bureau and other agencies are plummeting in the levels of trust they enjoy among the citizens they’re supposed to be protecting?

If the home of any prominent Leftist accused of illegal activity had been raided, Pence might be justified to be so sanguine, but the double standard is glaring. It was with good reason that Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) said that the Mar-a-Lago raid was “a complete abuse and overreach of [the FBI’s] authority.” That’s what it looks like. If Pence wants us all to trust the FBI again, that impression has to be definitively dispelled. But do the corrupt Leftists who are running the FBI now even want to dispel it?

Mike Pence is running for president as if it’s 1976 and he is Gerald Ford, the solid technocrat trying to emerge from the shadow of his disgraced former boss. But the FBI trying for years to frame Trump isn’t Watergate, and Pence is not going to get anywhere by buying into the Left’s vicious caricature of Trump as some kind of arch-criminal. Mike Pence is out of touch. If he really hopes to have a real chance in 2024, he needs to get out of the Beltway and find out what Americans are really thinking.

MIKE POMPEO ON DR. OZ: No, It’s Not Xenophobic to Question a Senate Candidate’s Dual Citizenship in an Enemy Islamist Nation

2020: Oz says Trump was wrong to withdraw from China-controlled WHO, praises Biden for rejoining it

Trump Supporters Couldn’t Stop Booing Dr. Oz at Pennsylvania Rally

An endorsement from former President Donald Trump wasn’t enough to prevent MAGA devotees from repeatedly booing Republican Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz at a campaign rally in Greensburg, Pennsylvania Friday evening.

Although the event was designed to promote Oz’s run for the state’s Senate seat, the majority of the crowd — many of whom waited for hours in the pouring rain — was clearly gathered to see Trump. Reaction to Oz was icy at best, with the audience letting out an audible groan when the former president began stumping for the fellow reality TV charlatan, referring to Oz as his “friend.” The boos were even more apparent after Trump implored Pennsylvania Republicans to “secure a massive victory” for Oz.

The apathetic response to Oz was a running theme throughout the evening. The Daily Beast reports that the crowd jeered when pro-MAGA Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-Penn.) explained his reasons for backing Oz in the May 17 primary, while Huffington Post reporter Daniel Marans shared a video on Twitter of Trump supporters booing Oz campaign ads that played before the rally.

Even so, between his usual rants against “liberal Democrats” and self-avowed enemies like Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ken.), Trump attempted to sell his supporters on Oz in a variety of ways, ranging from the banal to the bizarre — even going so far as to remind the audience that Oz was “in the bedrooms” of women across America as if that was a good, totally un-creepy asset for a would-be politician. (This isn’t the first time Trump has praised Oz’s popularity with female voters; after initially endorsing Oz last month, the ex-president boasted that women “are drawn to Dr. Oz for his advice and counsel.”)

“Dr. Oz is running against the liberal Wall Street Republican named David McCormick,” Trump said of Oz’s opponent, adding that the former Under Secretary of the U.S. Treasury for International Affairs “may be a nice guy, but he’s not MAGA.”

Losing out on Trump’s coveted endorsement appears to have Camp McCormick concerned about their prospects in Pennsylvania — and, given the recent success of Trump-backed author-turned-venture capitalist J.D. Vance in Ohio, it’s a fear that’s not entirely unfounded. According to Bloomberg, the candidate outspent Oz by over $6 million last month. In recent days, McCormick has zeroed in on Oz’s dual Turkish citizenship, suggesting the TV doctor’s ties to the country make him a potential threat to American democracy.

“These are pathetic and xenophobic attacks on Dr. Oz by David McCormick, who should be ashamed of himself,” Oz campaign spokesperson Brittany Yanick told The Philadelphia Inquirer. “Now that he lost President Trump’s endorsement, he’s resorted to sad and desperate attacks that are no different than the tropes used against Catholics and Jews.”

Mehmet ‘Mohammed’ Oz’s bizarre Senate campaign responded to criticism about his ties to the Islamist regime in Turkey by playing the “X” card.

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday alleged that Republican US Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz may be a security threat if he is elected to office.

Pompeo, a former CIA director and ex-Kansas congressman, said that Oz, who holds dual citizenship, must explain his relationship with Turkey’s government, citing Oz’s decision to vote in Turkish elections as recently as 2018 and his work with Turkish Airlines.

“I was involved in the process which adjudicated efforts to receive national security information — the clearance process inside the United States. And precisely the things that we have seen reported are the kinds of things that those who are making those judgments about whether to provide that sensitive American information — to government officials or to private citizens, to contractors are working on behalf of the American government — these are precisely the kinds of questions they would ask in making such a determination and they get answers. They often get answers under polygraph.”

Oz’s statement that he’ll renounce his Turkish citizenship if elected is already nothing short of bizarre.

And his campaign responded by crying, xenophobia.

The Oz campaign dismissed Pompeo’s criticism.

“These are pathetic and xenophobic attacks on Dr. Oz by David McCormick, who should be ashamed of himself,” said Oz spokeswoman Brittany Yanick.

“Now that he lost President Trump’s endorsement, he’s resorted to sad and desperate attacks that are no different than the tropes used against Catholics and Jews.”

Yanick said, “Dr. Oz has already said when elected to the Senate he would renounce his citizenship. There is no security issue whatsoever, and David McCormick knows that Dr. Oz has maintained his dual citizenship to make it easier to help care for his mother who has Alzheimer’s and lives there.”

You renounce foreign citizenship before you run for public office, not on a conditional basis.

Oz voted in Turkey’s elections so the story about his sick mother is more nonsense.

The big issue though is Turkey itself.

The country is currently run by a brutal Islamist dictator from the local equivalent of the Muslim Brotherhood who supports Islamic terrorists. Turkey is an enemy of the United States specifically and the West in general.

Raising questions about Mehmet ‘Mohammed’ Oz’s ties to Turkey isn’t “xenophobia”. He’s not being attacked for being of Turkish origin, but for maintaining political ties to a country run by allies of Islamic terrorists.

Oz is doubling down by proposing to serve in the Senate without abandoning his Turkish citizenship but avoiding classified materials.

U.S. Senate candidate Mehmet Oz said today that he would forego certain security clearances that are provided to all U.S. Senators to keep his dual citizenship with Turkey…

When asked about his dual citizenship with the United States and Turkey, Oz explained that he keeps his Turkish citizenship to care for his mother, who suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease. When queried what he would do if this would disqualify him from security clearances, Oz agreed that he would forego them in this situation, noting “I can love my country and love my mom.”

Should we even ask which “country” is under discussion here?
