Over 80 dead, dozens more still missing from Camp Mystic Christian girls’ camp in Texas floods
27 children remain missing from the Christian summer camp Camp Mystic, where hundreds of young girls had to be air-lifted to safety. The camp was completely destroyed by the floodwaters, with many people still waiting for news on their loved ones. An initial flash flood warning was issued for Kerr County as early as 1 a.m. on Friday, with a more dire Flash Flood Emergency being issued at 4:03 a.m. Authorities say that although about 850 people have been rescued, with hundreds being saved by helicopter, an unknown number of people remain unaccounted for.

Officials on Monday provided an update on the deadly flash floods in Texas. They say 48 adults and 27 children have been found, with 24 pending identification. Officials also added that 10 campers and one counselor from Camp Mystic are still missing. Hundreds of first responders are helping with rescue and recovery efforts.
